Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple, located in Srirangapur, is a secluded and well-maintained temple built in the 18th century. Surrounded by the picturesque Ranga Samudram lake, this temple boasts elegant Gopurams and rock structures resembling the famous Srirangam temple.

This temple is more than 500 years old. Diety here is Sri Ranganatha Swamy and is a swayambhu vigraham. This temple is built by the Wanaparti dynasts. This is about 15 KM from the Hyd - Blr highway at Pebbair. It is besides a large lake fed by Krishna river. Temple has a large wooden door leading to a large coutyard from where one can enjoy the crisp, fresh air from the lake. Temple is large, airy and is well maintained. This temple has 3 levels beneath it where the original Raja Ravi Varma paintings are displayed. This was perhaps collected by the dynasts over centuries. Must visit with family and friends.

Very nice temple. This temple is around 400 years old built by Kings of Wanaparthy. The temple is dedicated to Sri Ranganayaka Swamy (Vishnu). It’s a swyambhu idol. As you are in the temple it feels like you are in Sri Rangam of TN. Less crowd and very nice environment. The temple cleanliness and maintenance is also very nice. There are no parking charges. Lodging and boarding you will have to go to Wanaparthy and for tea / tiffin and light food there are some hotels at Pebbair. On the highway you can find good Udupi hotels for lunch and dinner. This temple is a very good one day trip for all Hyd people. Away for the city and calm environment will soothe your nerves for sure. Jai Sri Ram 🙏

The Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple in Srirangapuram, Telangana, has a rich history dating back to the 18th century AD. According to legend, King Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire was inspired to build this temple after visiting the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu. The king had a divine dream where Lord Vishnu appeared and guided him to the location of the idol, which was found between Karapakala hills and Kothakota. The temple was then constructed near Ratna Pushkarini Lake. *Construction*: Built in the 18th century AD by the Rajas of Wanaparthy Samsthanam *Architecture*: Classic example of Vijayanagara architecture style *Inspiration*: Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu *Festivals*: Kotai Vutsavalu during Sankranti Festival, Rathotsavam during March, and Navaratri celebrations

I had the privilege of visiting the Sri Ranganayaka Swami Temple at Wanaparthy, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The temple itself is a beautiful structure set in equally beautiful surroundings — serene, divine, and absolutely amazing. A special highlight of my visit was the museum of 300-year-old Tanjore paintings. These rare and exquisite works of art are a treasure that reflect our rich cultural heritage. I feel grateful to those who have been maintaining them all these years. At the same time, I sincerely wish these priceless paintings are preserved more scientifically and provided the attention and care they truly deserve, so future generations can continue to admire them. Overall, the temple and its treasures make it a must-visit for anyone interested in spirituality, history, and art.

SRI RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY MATHA

Mentioned on
1 list
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sri Raghavendra Swami Vaari Matham is a sprawling temple complex situated along the riverside, dedicated to a Hindu saint. The temple boasts of magnificent stone carvings and hosts daily rituals. Visitors can contribute to Annadanam and buy prasadam as well. The temple provides ample space for devotees, with many lodges available in the vicinity for accommodation.
Mantralaya Mutt is a very divine and holy place where Sri Raghavendra Swamy entered Jeeva Samadhi. The atmosphere here is filled with spiritual energy and peace, and as soon as you enter the mutt premises you feel completely blessed. The Brindavana darshan of Rayaru is a life-changing experience, and the chanting of mantras creates a very powerful vibration that touches the heart. The temple is very well maintained and the priests perform seva and puja with great devotion. On special days and Aradhana Mahotsava, the entire mutt is beautifully decorated and thousands of devotees gather to take blessings. Free prasadam is served daily to all, and the arrangements are very organized even when the crowd is heavy. Accommodation is also available nearby with good facilities for pilgrims. Visiting Mantralaya is not just a temple darshan, it is a spiritual journey that gives immense peace, hope and strength. Truly a must-visit place for every devotee of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

I have visited sri rayara matha recently, it was Ekadashi day so it was very crowd. You will feel different devotional vibes here that you can experience. Suggestion to temple authority: Need to maintain public washrooms and drinking water facility. Private people occupied this void and earning somuch. Suggestion to devotees: As it an sacred place, request everyone to maintain cleanness around the place, and for accommodation do not rely on private hotels, temple rooms are very offordable and well maintained too, please use temple accommodation.

A truly divine and peaceful experience. The Mantralaya temple, the Brindavana of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy, is a place of immense spiritual power and tranquility. The atmosphere is charged with devotion, and the positive energy is palpable. Spending time here, you can feel the blessings of the Guru. For those planning to visit, here is a helpful tip: If you wish to avoid the long queues, you can purchase the Anna Santarpane (Annadanam) ticket for ₹1000. This ticket is a donation towards the temple's food service and allows up to 8 people to have a special, expedited darshan. I was able to use this ticket multiple times during my visits, which was a great help and allowed me to have darshan without a long wait. It's a fantastic way to both contribute to a noble cause and have a peaceful darshan. I would like to conclude my review with a prayer to Guru Raghavendra. This popular shloka beautifully captures his essence: Poojyaya Raghavendraya Satya Dharma Ratayacha | Bhajatam Kalpa Vrikshaya Namatam Kamdhenave || Meaning: My salutations to the venerable Raghavendra, who is devoted to truth and righteousness. He is like the wish-fulfilling tree to his devotees and like the divine cow (Kamadhenu) to those who bow to him. A visit here is highly recommended for anyone seeking spiritual solace

Good this first no doubt Divine and spiritual place you must visit. Program inside temple and place it self take you to mind fullness. The aura of temple and great sages still overwarms you in peace. Large corridor which can accommodate lot of people special Prasadam (parimala). Crafted all Pura as, temples etc on walls with colourful must watching. Comes to other side discussion Its clear Management cannot handle large crowed. Clearly visible of recommendation and other rules breaking culture in temple like some one come in middle with some one permission and joins directly and go i side. No proper line Management out side temple. people pushing like anything. they are only focused on taking cash tickets but not arranging any board about prices and rules inside no security to handle people who come in middle of line or reverse line. No online transaction only cash. I don't see Digital India they just want cash. Room booking is really like hell you don't get online easily or direct easily. Except the temple and temple corridor you don't find any clean places. Finally you should not talk about roads if you are coming towards jogulamba its just roller coster you get will tried by you reach the temple.

Divine feelings of Raghavendra swamiji is sure, but i hated the system which doesn't care about the people. Mark my words, the next big stampede may happen here. Very hot spot place. Police and people rush management service is nill. The Darshan time is around 5 or 6am, but actually there is no security maintenance to maintain queue system and also no cleanliness in surroundings, There is a ritual to take holy dip in river tungabhadra, but you know there is no proper dress room especially for women and children. Cleanliness is nill here. You take a dip there, you pee there, you spit there, that's the holy water we bathing.I don't what administration and management us doing, but it's worst scenario,as there is rise in devotees government has not yet planned to take an action. If there is something robbery or anything happens, you just can feel that's the fate with no deserving help service from police or security or management. The lodges surrounding here fares ₹3000 to ₹6000, which is too high. Totally it's unplanned, unserviced. I don't know what NEWS MEDIA is doing, there job is to check whether all the things are properly functioning. Cautioning again "Stampede chance is 99%". One percent is happening when time commits after the failure in managing the crowd. Responsibile to this failure will be 1.crowd 2.Trust management 3.Police and Security 4.News Media

This is very sacred place. I have been visiting this place since my childhood, now I am 68 years old. During my last visit, I cannot help, but felt this place is changing fast. This place, once very sacred and holy, turning into a tourist spot with all the glitter and grandeur. With ever increasing visitors, there's hardly any facilities. Since the Mutt is under state government, neither the government nor the Mutt administration bother about visitors safety and facilities. No seperate que system for ailing and aged ( senior citizens). Only hefty Seva receipt holders get priorities. Poor Sevarthis left high and dry. Pradakshina and Namaskare Seva has became things of past. Concerned authorities and Mutt administration must act upon these things and try to bring back holiness and sacredness to this place.

Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple

At the Abhaya Anjaneya Temple, there is no need to buy any tickets or wait in line to enter. The temple is surrounded by beautiful green nature, creating a peaceful and calm atmosphere. Nearby, there is also the Maa Lakshmi Temple, which adds to the spiritual and serene surroundings among the mountains. One of the most amazing sights here is the natural rock formation. Between two big stones, there is a small stone holding the weight of the larger one above it. It’s truly a wonder to see how the big stone is perfectly balanced on the small one without crushing it. This scene teaches us an important life lesson — no matter whether we are big or small, young or old, everyone faces problems. But, just like that small stone, God gives us the strength and courage to hold our problems and stay strong. Even when strong winds blow, the stones do not fall. Similarly, we must also stand firm in the face of challenges. Nature at this temple teaches us how to live with balance, strength, and faith.

Spiritually Powerful and Serene – A Must-Visit Temple The Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple, located a short drive from Mantralaya, is a spiritually charged and deeply divine place. Believed to be where Lord Hanuman revealed his five-faced (Panchamukhi) form, this temple is surrounded by natural rock formations and peaceful silence — making the entire experience mystical and unforgettable. The temple stands on a small hill, and as you climb up, you feel a sense of calm and surrender. The deity of Panchamukha Anjaneya is carved into a rock and exudes immense power and grace. Just standing there in silence fills your heart with strength and devotion. The surrounding area is clean, and though the temple is in a remote place, it's well maintained. The scenic view, peaceful vibes, and divine energy make it a perfect stop for anyone visiting Mantralaya. Highly recommended for those seeking inner strength, peace, and blessings from Lord Hanuman. One of the most spiritually fulfilling experiences I've had.

Visited this holy temple on Friday evening around 6PM. Road conditions are good. Iit takes around 30 mins to reach from bichele. We are supposed to see this temple before we visit mantralayain temple as per priests. While going we saw lot of bullocks, good to see farmers are still using them in agriculture.

The Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple, also known as the Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple, is a significant pilgrimage site located in Panchamukhi, near Mantralayam, in the Raichur district of Karnataka, India. It is situated on the south bank of the River Tungabhadra, approximately 15 to 20 kilometers from Mantralayam. The temple is located on a hillock and is renowned for its unique five-faced idol of Lord Hanuman, which is sculpted directly into a large rock, making it a swayambu (self-manifested) form. This temple holds great historical and spiritual significance. It is believed that Sri Raghavendra Swamy, the revered saint of Mantralayam, meditated here for twelve years before settling in Mantralayam. According to legend, Lord Hanuman appeared in his Panchamukhi form (with faces of Hanuman, Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda, and Varaha) to Raghavendra Swamy after his meditation. The temple is also associated with the story of Hanuman's battle against Ahiravana, where he took on the five-faced form to extinguish five lamps simultaneously.

Panchamukhi Aanjaneya temple is formed in the rock, along with Aanjaneya you can see laksmi venkataraman, Ganapati and Rayaru. Saturdays you can expect some rush, but other days it's normal. Around this temple you can see Big Rocks naturally formed which looks like bed, Pushpaka vimana. And near by this temple you can visit one more devi temple.
Annapoorna K — Google review
Long queue. 100 rupees/head for a fast darshan. The queues are actually long but it may look small because it is hidden inside the side of the temple. The main Hanuman is inside a cave shielded by a silver armour (type thing) and the idol is flat on the ground (isnt upright) there are many other Idols of Gods and goddesses (upright). Prasadam is a sweet and kalakand(packets) for 50 rupees The way to reach the main shrine is by steps. There is good parking space.

I visited Buddha Vihar in Kalaburagi, and it was one of the most peaceful and inspiring places I’ve ever been to. The moment you step inside, the calm white domes and the grand statue of Lord Buddha create a sense of stillness and peace. The atmosphere feels perfect for quiet reflection and meditation.I spent a few minutes meditating inside the main hall, and it was truly refreshing — the silence and the gentle chanting sounds helped calm the mind completely. The area around the temple is well maintained, surrounded by gardens and pathways that make it ideal for evening walks. The place beautifully blends spirituality, architecture, and nature, offering visitors a perfect space to relax and reconnect with themselves. If you’re in Kalaburagi, Buddha Vihar is a must-visit — not just to see, but to feel. 🌿✨

Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Dargah{Gulbarga Sharif}

Mentioned on

Religious destination
Sights & Landmarks
Dargah Hazrath Khwaja Bandanawaz Gesudaraz Rahmathullahi Alaihi is a significant Sufi shrine located in Gulbarga, Karnataka. It is a cavernous temple with a striking white exterior and an intricately patterned interior, reminiscent of the vibes found at Ajmer's dargah of Khwaja Garib Nawaz.
"I have visited this place many times, and it brings me a lot of peace. It's a wonderful place, and the rooms are available at affordable prices. For those who want to stay inside the dargah, there are paid washrooms and bathing facilities with both normal and hot water at reasonable prices, and they're well-maintained. It's affordable for middle and lower-middle-class people. The food prices, including breakfast and lunch, are also reasonable. Overall, I found it to be budget-friendly. If someone is traveling in their own car, they can stay in a good lodge that provides car parking facilities.

Visiting the Gulbarga Dargah was a truly peaceful and spiritual experience. The atmosphere is calm, and you can feel a deep sense of serenity the moment you enter. Khwaja Banda Nawaz's dargah is not just a place of worship, but also a symbol of unity and love that brings people from all walks of life together. The architecture is stunning, with beautiful calligraphy and intricate designs that reflect the rich heritage of the region. The caretakers are humble and helpful, and everything was well maintained. Whether you're there to pray, reflect, or just admire the history and beauty of the place, it leaves a lasting impression on your heart. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gulbarga (Kalaburagi). It’s more than just a spiritual site — it’s a place where you can find peace.

Dargha hazart Khwaja Bande nawaj located in Kalburgi karnataka. Wonderfull place to visit with family weekend or weekday marvelous architecture in every gumbad. Be aware of frauds near dargha they will come near you and they pretend that they are guiding you and explain you at each dargha and at every dargha they will be asking for favour (money) and becareful near flower shops also And the management can maintain place well and Clean I would ask management to work on maintain the place and most of the molvis are fraud apart from this excellent place to visit very peaceful and a breath of fresh air.
Syed S — Google review
The Dargah is relatively well-maintained compared to many others, and the spiritual atmosphere is truly serene. However, reaching the Mazaar can be quite challenging, especially for elderly people or those with mobility issues. Vehicles aren’t allowed near the shrine, so visitors must either walk a considerable distance or hire an auto — even then, there’s still a good amount of walking involved. A word of caution: be mindful of local vendors inside the premises. Some tend to overcharge or insist on unnecessary offerings. It’s best to take only what you genuinely want and confirm prices before agreeing to anything. Overall, it's a peaceful and spiritual place, but a bit of awareness and preparation can help ensure a smoother experience.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Solapur Bhuikot Fort, also known as Solapur Fort, is a historic 14th-century fort located in Solapur, Maharashtra. Built during the Bijapur Sultanate, it showcases impressive architectural and technical skills. Despite its rich history, the fort suffers from poor maintenance and lacks facilities for visitors. However, the surrounding gardens and scenic views make it an enjoyable destination for history enthusiasts and architecture lovers.
"A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Solapur" This fort is truly a hidden gem in the middle of Solapur city. While it may not always get the appreciation it deserves from the locals, history enthusiasts will definitely find it fascinating. The architecture and historical significance make it worth a visit. However, while the fort is maintained by the authorities, the upkeep is not up to the mark. With better preservation efforts, it could become a prime attraction. Despite that, it’s a great spot for history lovers looking to explore something unique in Solapur.

A Piece of History Waiting to Shine Located right in the heart of Solapur, next to Siddheshwar Temple and Hutatma Park, this old fort built by the Bahmani dynasty carries a lot of history. The entry ticket is just ₹20, but you’ll need to book it online or pay via UPI – no offline cash option, which makes it difficult for some visitors. Once inside, you’ll see the potential this place has. The huge fort walls still stand strong, and the view of the lake and temple from the top is truly beautiful. There are a few structures still intact, and a big open park area inside. Sadly, it's not well maintained – overgrown grass, dry fountains, and signs of neglect are visible. Basic facilities are there, and since it’s centrally located, shops and food are easily available outside. The fort could easily become a major tourist spot if cleaned and managed properly. For now, it’s a quiet place for a short walk and to take in some local history. If you're interested in heritage sites, it’s worth a one-time visit. #SolapurFort #HeritageSite #SolapurDiaries #HiddenHistory #NeedBetterMaintenance #BahmaniArchitecture #LocalHistory #CityViews #WeekendExplore

This is my hometown, Solapur. This Bhuikot Fort is very ancient and proud structure for us. From the early childhood we have been a frequent visitor here. I visited here again just to relive the memories but it's sad to see it not being maintained properly. Being such an ancient figure it must be properly maintained. But everyone must visit it once.
Sandhya G — Google review
Bhuikot Fort is so named because it was built on a flat piece of land, rather than on a mountain. It is a historic fort located in Solapur, constructed in the 14th century by the Bahmani dynasty. Over the years, the fort came under the control of several rulers, including the Bahmani dynasty, Aurangzeb, the Nizams of Hyderabad, and the Marathas. It is believed that Mughal emperor Aurangzeb resided here for several years. Later, the fort came under the administration of the Nizams of Hyderabad and the Marathas. The fort is also known as "Shivpattan" and was a key location during the Battle of Kharda in 1795. Today, the fort is in a state of ruin and lacks proper maintenance.
Suhas P — Google review
The Bhuikot Fort in Solapur is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape amidst the hustle and bustle of the growing city. The interiors have been transformed into a lush garden, making it a wonderful place to connect with nature and enjoy some quiet moments. The well-maintained greenery provides a refreshing ambiance that is perfect for relaxation or a peaceful walk. Despite the beauty of the gardens, the fort as a whole could benefit from more comprehensive maintenance. The historical significance of the fort deserves better preservation, and with some care, this spot could truly shine as a prominent attraction in Solapur. However, the existing charm of the place still makes it worth visiting. There is a small entry fee, but the experience of immersing yourself in the blend of history and nature makes it worthwhile. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful getaway within the city, the Bhuikot Fort offers a unique experience that shouldn’t be missed.

Tuljapur is a holy place for whole Maharashtra. The reason why i am giving poor rating is the system, the darshan system is the worst. No hygiene is maintained. Everywhere dustbins are overflowed with dirt and gross things. Atleast in temple we expected cleanliness but we got the worst. No cleanliness. It seems the constitution doesn't care abt devotees except their money. Very disappointed from the system the offered

Vishnupad temple

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Vishnupad Temple is a divine and spiritually significant place located about 2 kilometers from Pandharpur, in the serene Chandrabhaga riverbed. According to legend, before Pandharpur existed, a demon named Gayasur, who was a great devotee and ascetic, resided here. It is believed that the mere sight of Gayasur granted salvation even to the gravest sinners, preventing souls from reaching Yamalok (the abode of Yama, the god of death). Concerned about this, Yama appealed to Lord Brahma, who, with Lord Vishnu's help, sent Gayasur to the netherworld. The spot where Lord Vishnu's feet touched the ground became Vishnupad, holding immense spiritual importance. The temple also has a sacred connection to Lord Krishna. It is believed that when Goddess Rukmini, upset with Lord Krishna, came to Pandharpur, Krishna followed her and performed *Gopal Kala* here, playing his flute. This is why Krishna's footprints can also be seen at Vishnupad. Additionally, it is said that when Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj took *Sanjeevan Samadhi*, Lord Pandurang, filled with sorrow, moved to Vishnupad in the *Margashirsha* month. Even today, devotees believe that Lord Pandurang resides at Vishnupad during this period, and all the rituals and prayers are performed here throughout the month. This rich history and spiritual significance make Vishnupad Temple a must-visit for devotees. The serene environment and divine energy of this place leave one feeling blessed and peaceful. Do not miss visiting this sacred spot when in Pandharpur. 🙏 Jai Hari 🙏

There's a square mandir in the Chandrabhaga/Bhima river at Gopalpur which is connected by a old stone bridge. In the mandir there's revered Vishnu pada. When the river swells during rainy season the three fourths of mandir and the bridge gets submerged in water
Balaji B — Google review
The Vishnupad Temple is located right on the banks of the Bhima River, extremely close to the water. During high monsoon flow, darshan becomes impossible — and today was one such day. Due to the excessive water level, even boat services to the temple were not operating. This was my first time seeing the temple, and it's situated further inward from the riverbank. Right now, the entire temple is submerged in water, with only the rooftop visible. I hope to return again someday when the water level is normal and have the opportunity for full darshan.

Vishnu pad ✨✨ It was my backpacking trip to Pandharpur & Badami. We rome around the market & then we went for a boat ride in Chandrabhaga River. The river is very dirty and water is not at all potable, so I would advise you to carry enough drinking water. We started our boat ride from main Ghat to Vishnupad temple at 3:30 pm. It takes around 30 mins by boat to reach dere. I asked boatwala to ferry slow bcause there too many birds to be spotted. I spotted many Terns, Kingfishers, Brahmini Kites and many more. The boat ride was soothing. The ghat looked awesome. We reached Vishnupad Temple & stayed there for an hour. The permenant Swollow bird nest was amazing. There were 100s of Swollows flying around. The place is peaceful. It was about to sunset so we came by Boat. The sunset looked stunning from the middle of River.Vishnupad Mandir is called so as it is believed to feature a 40-cm-long footprint of Lord Vishnu in a basalt rock. As the story goes, Lord Vishnu killed demon Gayasur at this place by stamping his foot on his chest. After Lord Vishnu pushed the demon under the earth with his foot, his footprint was retained in a rock.Though the origin of the temple is unknown, it is believed that Ahilya Bai Holkar, the queen of Indore, had the present octagonal shrine built in 1787.The temple is located on the banks of Falgu river and draws devotees from across the country. Within the courtyard of the complex, lie other temples dedicated to Lord Narasimha and Lord Shiva in the avatar of Phalgwisvara. These temples are significant places of Hindu worship.

Situated on the banks of the Chandrabhaga River, the Vishnupad Temple is connected to the mainland via a ramp. Its architectural design features a grand open hall structure supported by sixteen majestic pillars. These pillars depict various postures of Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu. Inside the temple, one can find different stones with depictions of Lord Vishnu's footprints in various poses, including crossed legs or standing on both feet. Interestingly, being situated in the middle of the river, the temple's footprints are partially submerged in water, with the water level rising during the monsoon season.

Shree Pundalik Mandir

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Bhakta Pundalik is closely associated with Lord Vithoba (Vitthal), a form of Lord Krishna or Vishnu. According to legend, Pundalik was a devoted son who served his elderly parents with utmost dedication. When Lord Vitthal appeared at his doorstep, Pundalik, engrossed in his service to his parents, offered a brick (brick = "Vit" in Marathi) for the Lord to stand on. Pleased with his devotion, Vitthal remained there, and this spot later became the famous Pandharpur temple, a major pilgrimage site in Maharastra.
SHRAVAN M — Google review
Pundalik Temple in Pandharpur is a monument to the devotion of his service to his parents. According to legend, Pundalik was a devoted son who served his parents with the utmost care. Once, he was visited by Lord Vishnu, who came to bless him for his service. However, Pundalik was busy attending to his parents and asked Lord Vishnu to wait outside on a brick. Vishnu was impressed by his devotion and agreed to wait. Pundalik later came out and apologized to Vishnu for making him wait. Vishnu was pleased with his humility and asked him what he wanted as a boon. Pundalik requested Vishnu to stay on the brick and bless all his devotees who came to Pandharpur. Vishnu agreed and took the form of Vitthal, standing on the brick with his hands on his hips.

It is a simple small temple of Bhakt Pundalik , to whom bhagwan Krishna visited in Vitthal form. Temple is on Chandrabhaga river bank and beautiful view of river are visible.

While visiting the main temple of Vitthal Rukmini one can visit this ancient temple located on the banks of river Chandrabagha. The temple and idol are very old and are revered by the locals. Area surrounding is not clean especially the surface is uneven with sharp stone granules . There is no chappal stand etc . Aged people should avoid , as they have climb lot of steps up / down to go the temple location in the river from main road.

Exactly on the river banks Road leading to this place is quite narrow and neatness is a question mark

Hare Krishna! The ISKCON Temple in Pandharpur is a peaceful and spiritually uplifting place. Surrounded by serene vibes and filled with divine chants, the temple offers a perfect space for devotion and reflection. The deities are beautifully adorned, and the temple premises are clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere is welcoming, with regular kirtans, aarti, and prasadam that enhance the spiritual experience. It’s a wonderful place to connect with Lord Krishna and feel a deep sense of inner peace. A must-visit for devotees and anyone seeking tranquility in the holy town of Pandharpur.

A beautiful Radha-Krishna Iskon temple is located on the banks of the Chandrabhaga river. I visited this place in the afternoon on the weekend no rush was there. It has the same vibe as all the Iskon temples but the backside is very beautiful. On the banks of Chandrabhaga dome shaped structures are built where you can sit, take photos and enjoy the view. If one wants to swim they can do that also. We got prasadam containing mix dal khichdi which was delicious.

Hare krishna! Very nice place. On the banks of chandrabhaga river it is a very calm and quiet place . Must visit. A sprawling new temple complex is coming up. The guest house is also great at a very nominal price. Only the food at the Govinda restaurant must improve. It is not up to the Govinda restaurant standard which I have had in many places. This temple is on the opposite side of the main pandharpur Temple.

Visited ISKCON Pandharpur recently and it was a truly beautiful and peaceful experience. We reached the temple by taking a 10-minute boat ride across the Chandrabhaga river, which cost ₹100 for two people — a scenic and enjoyable way to arrive. The temple premises are currently under construction, and from the scale of it, it looks like it's going to be one of the largest and most grand ISKCON temples in the country. Even in its current phase, the space is clean, well-managed, and spiritually uplifting. We had breakfast at the food stall inside the premises — it was hygienic, tasty, and very budget-friendly. There's also a beautiful gaushala (cow shelter) that adds to the peaceful, devotional vibe of the place. We took darshan of Radha Krishna, and they looked absolutely divine and surreal. There was a katha session going on since it was Sunday, which added to the spiritual atmosphere. The devotees and volunteers were warm and welcoming. Overall, a soulful experience and a must-visit when you're in Pandharpur. I look forward to visiting again once the full construction is complete — it's going to be something truly grand!

Fortress
Nestled in the heart of Ahmednagar, the historic Ahmednagar Fort is a captivating destination that beckons history enthusiasts and curious travelers alike. This centuries-old fortress, originally built in the 16th century during the reign of the Ahmednagar Sultanate, boasts impressive architecture and a rich tapestry of stories from various rulers and dynasties. Once a prison for Indian independence leaders in the 1940s under British rule, it has witnessed countless invasions throughout its storied past.
One of the oldest forts in India. It has Nizam Shahi architecture and was the headquarters of the Ahmednagar Sultanate.
CYBER F — Google review
Only a certain portion of the fort is open to public.. army area.. parking available within the fort .. not maintained properly.. no tickets.. free entry.. 1. Foundation and Architectural Style: The fort was constructed around 1559 CE during the reign of Malik Ahmad Nizam Shah. Its architecture is a blend of medieval Indian military fortifications, with high walls, bastions, and a surrounding moat. It was designed to serve as a military stronghold and withstand sieges. The circular design with 24 bastions makes it one of the most formidable forts of its time. 2. Role in the Deccan Sultanates: Ahmednagar Fort was the seat of power for the Nizam Shahi dynasty of the Deccan region. It was central to their control over the Deccan Plateau and saw numerous battles during the wars between the Sultanates of Bijapur, Golconda, and the Mughal Empire. 3. Conflict with the Mughals: In 1600, the fort became the site of intense conflict when the Mughal Emperor Akbar laid siege to it. Chand Bibi, the queen regent of Ahmednagar, famously defended the fort against Akbar’s forces. However, the fort eventually fell to the Mughals, marking the decline of the Nizam Shahi dynasty. Aurangzeb, the Mughal emperor, also used Ahmednagar Fort during his campaigns to subdue the Marathas. 4. Role during British Rule: The fort gained renewed significance during the British colonial period. It was used as a prison by the British to detain several Indian freedom fighters during the independence movement. Most notably, Jawaharlal Nehru, along with other leaders of the Indian National Congress, was imprisoned in Ahmednagar Fort in 1942 during the Quit India Movement. Nehru wrote his famous book, "The Discovery of India," while incarcerated here

The fort is in circular shape and one can walk the entire outer wall on the walkway made on the top of the wall.

The Ahmednagar fort is a small fort occupied by military. Military allows visit of fort free. The structures inside fort are in dilapidated condition in absence of maintenance. The wall of fort is strong and one can walk on the wall of fort. It takes maximum one hour to complete tour of fort
Ravi S — Google review
The fort was built during A.D. 1553 to A.D. 1565. The fort has 24 bastions, one large gate and some other gates. The fort has seen many handovers of powers from Nizams to Mughals to Peshwa and to British emperors finally coming under regulation of India post independence. This is very strong fort on ground and was difficult to conquer in the history. It is quite large and some area can be seen by general public as rest of the area is army camp. During Aug 1942 to April 1945, Indian political leaders were kept as interns of this fort which was converted to British jail that time.. View from fort wall is very nice. Feel very proud to see big tricolor flag on the wall ! You can go to tank museum which is nearby (approx 3 km from fort)

This is over 500 years old fort. It's now open to see it , just that we need to keep our id card at the entrance and need to pick it up once you are done. Octagonal Palace is a nice architectural monument. Leaders block is a place where many of the freedom fighters were prisoned from 1942- 1945. Our first prime minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru wrote his famous book Discovery of India in this prison. They have many self explanatory boards. One can walk on the walls of the fort. It's nice panoramic view. Very quite place.

Shree Shanidev Temple, Shani Shingnapur is a revered Jeet Devasthan in Ahmednagar district, known for its powerful deity Lord Shani. The temple houses a black stone believed to be the dwelling place of Lord Shani and attracts thousands of devotees annually. The village where the temple is located is unique as none of its houses have doors and locks, as it's believed that Lord Shani safeguards their possessions from theft.
✨ A truly unique and powerful spiritual experience! My visit to the Shree Shaneshwar Devasthan in Shani Shingnapur was truly memorable. The atmosphere around the open-air shrine for Lord Shani is deeply serene and humbling. It’s amazing to see the devotion of people performing rituals with full faith. Even with the crowd, the Darshan process was well-managed 🙏 🏞️ The outside views and the surrounding village are just as fascinating. 🏡 The local tradition of houses without doors 🚪 shows the deep trust the villagers have in Lord Shani’s protection. This faith gives the whole place a historic and divine feel. 🌿 Overall, it’s a peaceful, spiritual, and culturally rich place that everyone should visit at least once. Highly recommended for both devotion and culture experience. 🙌

Devotees offer oil, and the temple is well-maintained, though it can get crowded. Parking is available, and facilities like washrooms and food stalls are nearby. The temple is well-maintained, and the darshan experience was smooth. A place of faith and devotion that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.

🌑 About the Temple The temple is dedicated to Lord Shani (Saturn) — the god of justice. The idol of Shani Dev is a black stone (swayambhu), about 5.5 feet tall, installed on an open platform — no roof above, symbolizing Shani Dev’s presence everywhere. The temple is open 24 hours a day, and devotees can perform abhishek and prayers anytime. No temple doors, no village locks — people believe Shani Dev protects everyone from theft or harm. --- 🕉️ Special Features Saturdays and Amavasya (new moon day) attract lakhs of devotees. Men traditionally wear a new dhoti and enter bare-bodied to perform oil abhishek. Women are allowed to offer prayers from a designated platform (rules were updated in 2016). Common offerings: Black cloth, mustard oil, sesame (til), iron items, and flowers. --- 🛣️ How to Reach ✈️ By Air: Nearest Airport – Aurangabad Airport (90 km) or Pune Airport (160 km) 🚆 By Train: Nearest Railway Station – Rahuri (32 km) or Ahmednagar (35 km) 🚗 By Road: From Shirdi – 75 km (1.5 hrs drive) From Pune – 160 km (3–4 hrs drive) From Nashik – 150 km (3 hrs drive) Regular state transport buses and taxis are available. --- 🏨 Stay Options Many Dharamshalas, lodges, and hotels are available near the temple. Budget stays and private rooms are easily found in Shani Shingnapur village and Nevasa. Many devotees also stay in Shirdi and visit Shani Shingnapur on a day trip. --- 🧭 Nearby Places to Visit 🛕 Shirdi Sai Baba Temple – 75 km 🛕 Renuka Devi Temple, Mahur 🛕 Ellora Caves & Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga (Aurangabad) – around 90 km 🌊 Nevasa River and old fort ruins
Abhinay M — Google review
The simplicity of the Shani Shingnapur Temple is what makes it extraordinary.Unlike conventional temples adorned with ornate carvings and towering domes, this shrine consists solely of a five-and-a-half-foot black stone idol standing on a raised platform under the vast sky. Flanking the idol is a trident (Trishula), Lord Shiva’s sacred bull (Nandi) & Lord Hanuman’s figure, enhancing the spiritual aura of the site. Devotees perform rituals such as ‘Abhishekam’, where oil is poured over the idol to pacify Lord Shani’s influence. Saturdays and new moon days (Amavasya) are considered especially auspicious, drawing thousands of pilgrims eager to seek relief from Saturn’s planetary malefic effects. Some devotees even walk barefoot for miles to reach the temple, demonstrating their deep reverence.

Shani Shingnapur Temple is a unique and spiritually powerful place dedicated to Lord Shani. The temple’s open-air idol and the belief that no one in the village locks their homes make it a fascinating and faith-filled experience. The atmosphere is calm and devotional, and the nearby shops and facilities are convenient for visitors. However, it can get quite crowded on weekends and festival days, which affects the overall comfort. Overall, a deeply spiritual destination worth visiting.

Review: Shri Shani Shingnapur Mandir Shri Shani Shingnapur Mandir is located in a fairly remote area with limited access to affordable public transportation. Private transport options are quite costly, and the state transport services are not very reliable. It’s advisable to avoid traveling by bike or moped, as the roads leading to the temple are in poor condition and can be challenging to navigate. Important Note: If you wish to perform the oil abhishek ritual on the Shani Shila individually, a separate charge of ₹500 applies.
Sandeep A — Google review
Shree Shanidev Maharaj Temple, located in Shani Shingnapur village of Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra, is one of the most famous temples dedicated to Lord Shani, the deity representing planet Saturn. The temple is unique for its open-air shrine — there is no roof over the idol — symbolizing that Lord Shani watches everyone under the open sky. The black stone idol of Shani Dev, believed to have self-manifested (Swayambhu), was discovered centuries ago by a shepherd after it appeared from a riverbed. When the shepherd touched the stone with a stick, it started bleeding, revealing its divine power. That night, Lord Shani appeared in his dream, declaring that the stone was his idol and he should be worshipped there without any shelter. The villagers obeyed his instructions, and since then, the temple stands open to the sky. Another remarkable tradition of Shani Shingnapur is that no house in the village has doors or locks. The people have immense faith that Lord Shani protects them from theft and wrongdoing. It is believed that anyone who attempts theft or deceit in the village will face divine punishment from Shani Dev. Devotees from across India visit the temple, especially on Saturdays and Amavasya (new moon day), to seek blessings and relief from the malefic effects of Shani in their lives. Oil is offered to the deity as part of the rituals, as it is said to please Lord Shani. The temple is managed by a trust and continues to maintain its age-old customs. Shani Shingnapur stands not only as a center of devotion but also as a symbol of faith, discipline, and the moral belief that honesty and righteousness always triumph under the watchful eyes of Lord Shanidev.

On the Ahmednagar - Aurangabad National Highway, there is a hidden gem between Shirdi and Shani-Shingnapur, known as the Sonai Renuka Mata Temple. It is known for its stunning décor of designer glasses adorning its walls and pillars. Apart from its sacred significance, an interesting game captivated my curiosity. There is a playful ritual involving a pot and a handful of coins. One has to toss a coin and aim to land it in the pot below. Legend has it that if your coin finds its mark, your wishes will come true. Beyond the superstition, one couldn’t resist playing this delightful game, tossing several coins with hopeful anticipation.
