Beautiful, beautiful temple in a beautiful place. The trek was nice and adventurous. Not very tough . Lovely walking through the streams . Few steps to climb and have to go below a waterfall to reach the temple. Small temple attached to a cliff. Beautiful view all along. The path to reach back has a lot of stairs. We saw few people coming back in the same path as climbing up as this path is walking in the stream.

Ahobilam trekking is a unique and spiritually enriching experience in Andhra Pradesh, India, especially for those interested in a blend of nature, adventure, and devotion. Here's a detailed review: ⭐ Ahobilam Trekking Review 📍 Location Ahobilam is located in the Nallamala Hills of the Eastern Ghats, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. It's famous for being the abode of Lord Narasimha, with 9 shrines (Nava Narasimha) scattered across the forested hills. 🥾 Trekking Experience 🔹 Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging The lower shrines (like Prahlada Varadan and Yogananda Narasimha) are easily accessible. The upper shrines (like Jwala, Ugra, and Malola Narasimha) involve steep climbs, rocky paths, and some slippery sections in the monsoon.

An awe-inspiring spiritual experience! The trek to Jwala Narasimha Swamy Temple in Ahobilam is adventurous yet deeply peaceful, surrounded by stunning hills, waterfalls, and divine energy. Truly a must-visit for both trekkers and devotees!

Fill the power of hill water drop after reaching thirsty. Little difficult to reach but you can reach through the river, hill steps and iron bridge. Nice place enjoy the tracking. God Narasimha will help you all the way to reach him.

Moolavar : Sri Jwala Narasimha Thayar : Sri Chenchu Lakshmi Some the salient features of this temple are… The temple is also a Cave temple faces east with a built up mukha mandapam. Stucco image of Narasuimhar and Prahalad are on the top of the mukha mandapam. The shrine appears to be a natural cave. The temple of Jwala Narasimha, lies higher up the Malola temple, on a hill called ‘Achalachaya Meru’. This place is said to be the actual spot where the ferocity or anger of the Lord reached its acme when he tore Hiranyakasipu. It is some what difficult to reach this place as we have to pass through a narrow passage made by cutting and chiselling the rocks of the peak on one side, while to the other side of this passage there is a very deep valley. One has to walk very carefully. It is told that the spot where Jwala Narasimha is sitting with Hiranyakasipu on his lap, is the threshold of the main entrance door of the spacious palace of Hiranyakasipu. Cleaving one of the pillars of the demon’s palace, Narasimha manifested himself. The part of this pillar standing erect has the shape of a lofty hill. This vertical hilly pillar is called Achalachayameru. The cleaven side of the standing part is straight and at right angles to the foot part of it. On the precipice of this peak, there are three steel posts erected. On the surface of these steel posts, the names of the devotees erecting them are engraved. It is generally believed that after slaying Hiranyakasipu, Narasimha looked very frightful. To pacify him, Indra and other gods poured suraganga water (celestial Ganges) on his head which flowed down as a stream into the nearby valley and the latter turned into a river called Bhavanasini. In front of this shrine, there is a small pond below a fully open cave. The water of this pond is reddish. The colour of the water is said to be due to Narasimha’s washing his hands here after tearing the abdomen of Hiranyakasipu. There are three idols in the shrine, a. Ashtabuja Narasimha b. Chaturbuja Narasimha, and c. Narasimha chasing Hiranyakasipu. a. Ashtabhuja Narasimha… The main deity seated at the centre is with eight arms. He is seated on a Garudapeeda and a small image of Prahlada is placed to the left of Narasimha, standing with folded hands/ Anjali hastam. The sculpture suggests massive energy and vigorous action. The first pair of hands catches hold of Hiranyakashipu’s crown and renders him motionless, while the other pair by tightly gripping the sword - carrying hand of Hiranyakashipu, completely disarms and overpowers him. The second pair of hands is engaged in tearing open the entrails of the demon lying on the folded right leg of the God. The third pair of hands hold Sankha and Chakra and fourth pair holds the intestine of the demon in the shape of a garland. A prabhavali with kirtimukha is carved in the same stone. Stylistically this image goes back to the early Vijayanagara period. b. Chaturbhuja Narasimha… This image is depicted in the standing posture coming out of the pillar (Stambhodbhava-murti). This is said to represent the Kevala Narasimha form. This is a very rare form and appears to be earlier. Narasimhar has four hands, the two upper hands holding chakra and shankha and the lower hands are depicted downwards as though he is tearing the demon. But peculiarly the demon is not depicted. Lakshmi is seated to the right and Prahlada stands to the left and the god is adorned with Karandamakuta. Stylistically this image appears to be earlier than the above and may belong to the 7th-8th century A.D. c. Narasimha chasing the Hiranyakashipu… The third image depicts Narasimha as advancing towards Hiranyakashipu from the right, as the latter is approaching in a defiant attitude, with his sword lifted up to strike. Narasimha is made to take hold of the body of Hiranyakasipu so as to overpower him. Moreover the right hand of Narasimha is held up as if he is going to deal a blow to the enemy with the open palm of the hand.

Maintenance good. Go by early morning. For elderly people, doli is available at a cost. Cellphone no towers deep in the forest. Sree Ahobilam Narasimha Swamy Stotram "Hiranya Sthambha Sambhuthim Prakhyaatha Paramaathmane Prahladaarthumushe Jwala Narasimhaaya Mangalam" Meaning of the Sloka Hails to the Paramathma (Supreme soul) Sri Jwala Narasimha who had come out of the pillar and removed the sorrows of Bhakta Prahlada. 1. Sri Jwala Narasimha Swamy is seated on a Garuda Peetham with eight hands holding Shankha and Chakra in the upper two hands. 2. He is holding Hiranyakasipu on his lap with two hands. 3. He is tearing the stomach of Hiranyakasipu with two hands and wearing his intestines as a garland with two other hands. 4. This Kshetram also removes the difficulties of drought and unseasonal rains. There are other four moorthis in the shrine - Sthambhodhbhava Narasimha (Narasimha coming out of the pillar); 1. Narasimha Swamy fighting with 2. Hiranyakashipu; 3. Sri Maha Vishnu; 4. Shukracharya
Senthil M — Google review
Jwala Narasimha Swamy Temple is one of the nine Narsimha temples in Ahobilam. This Temple is located at about 4 Kms from the Upper Ahobilam Temple, on a hill called, 'Achala Chaya Meru'. One has to go under the waterfall of the Bhavanasini River to reach this temple. It is believed that the entire area of Ahobilam was actually Hiranyakasipu’s palace and it was at the spot where the temple stood that Lord Narasimha actually killed the Hiranyakasipu. Jwala means flame and this is where Lord Narasimha was at the peak of his anger. There is a small pond near this temple called Rakta Kunda Tirtha. Here Lord Narasimha washed his blood-stained hands and hence the color of the water of this Kunda turned red. The planet name is Kuja.

Don’t forget to buy banana on the way..very tasty and cheap.. Prasadham available out the temple..Normal darshan 50 and special 250

Excellent Nandi temple. No. 7 in the list of Nava Nandi temples of Nandyala area. No. 8 Vinayaka Nandi is inside temple complex only. Only flaw is the temple administration who are trying to lead devotees to fraud practices of purchasing entry ticket 50₹ -100₹ for Seeghra darshan and 150₹ for Sparsha darshan to enter stating long queue, waiting time, darshan time of 1hr or so and buy Seeghra darshan tickets for fast entry etc when the queue is manageable, entry and darshan doesn't take much time etc. Parking for car costs 80₹ but no proper rules regulations noone to safeguard or check or follow rules. Male and Female pushkarini for people to bathe and see the lord.
Santosh — Google review
The temple is unique and cannot be found at any other place. The main Lingam in the temple is a mole hill. One can have Sparsha Darshan in this temple by touching the main deity. The architecture in the temple is to be seen to believe especially of the Goddess Saraswathi and Lord Vishnu in the ceiling. A little more interest in keeping the premises clean would definitely make this place beautiful.

Great experience across the route and play time with the water pool. Clear water while inside the temple

Mahanandi is one of the Nava nandi (nine) temple. Its very old and historical temple backs 1500 years of history. The main deity is Mahanandeeshwara (Shiva). The initial structure was done by Badami chalukyas and later renovated by many kingdoms. Mahanandi is famous for its fresh water pool called pushkarini, the water is clister clear and many people come here for bath. This temple is 20km from Nandyala and for accomidation you can find many hotels outside the temple.
Surendranath P — Google review
The temple is very beautiful and the entire area is very clean. But outside this temple it is written as free darshan but once inside they charge Rs 50 pp and the management of this temple is very rude in their dealings with the devotees and the language they speak is not good. They only see money in devotees.
Nagesh K — Google review
Temple environment is very refreshing and peaceful, good place for lord Shiva devotees. Temple devasthanam is maintaining cleanliness and healthy environment. Need to appreciate on that. But few priests became commercial as they are expecting high dakshina. I guess Devasthanam is already paying good salary to Garbagruha priest but still he is expecting/demanding huge dakshina from devotees. All devotees may not be capable enough to offer as per priest expectation which makes him disappointed/grimble and it's not a good sign. Few Priests expectations are increasing day by day.

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam

Sacred & Religious Sites
Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam is a historic Hindu temple complex located on the Nallamala Hills, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples and holds significance in Hindu mythology. The temple, built in the 14th century, features intricate sculptures and a scenic location along the Krishna River.
I recently visited the Mallikarjun Jyotirling Temple in Srisailam, and it was a truly divine experience. The place has a strong spiritual energy — peaceful, well maintained, and beautifully surrounded by nature. I opted for the ₹300 Ati Shighra Darshan ticket, which was absolutely worth it. The queue moved smoothly, and I could have darshan comfortably without too much waiting time. The temple staff were helpful and guided everyone patiently, which made the whole process easy and respectful. One thing to remember — mobile phones and cameras are strictly not allowed inside the temple premises. You’ll need to keep them in the lockers provided before entering. Also, there’s a strict dress code here. Only decent traditional wear like pant and shirt, kurta-pyjama, or dhoti is allowed. Jeans, shorts, and torn clothes are not permitted, and the security staff are quite particular about it. The temple architecture is beautiful, and the vibe inside feels very pure and calming. If you plan to visit, go early in the morning or in the evening for a more peaceful experience. Overall, it’s a must-visit Jyotirling for anyone seeking a genuine spiritual experience amidst serene surroundings.

A truly divine and powerful temple! 🙏 Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and 18 Shakti Peethas, making it a rare and sacred place. The temple is beautifully maintained, clean, and well-organized for devotees. The spiritual energy here is beyond words — you can feel immense peace and positivity. The darshan arrangements are smooth, and the queue system is well-managed, especially during weekends and festivals. The surroundings are scenic with hills, forests, and fresh air — a perfect blend of spirituality and nature. Truly a must-visit for every devotee of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati! 🙏🕉️✨

A Divine Journey to Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple Visiting Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam is a truly divine experience. The journey itself is mesmerizing—winding roads through the lush Nallamala hills, misty views, and the sight of the majestic Srisailam Dam along the way make the trip unforgettable. As one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas, the temple radiates an aura of peace and devotion. The ancient architecture, powerful vibrations, and serene surroundings fill your heart with spiritual bliss. A perfect blend of nature, devotion, and timeless beauty—this is a place every devotee must experience at least once in their lifetime. 🙏✨

A truly divine and peaceful place surrounded by dense forest, offering breathtaking natural views. The temple radiates amazing energy and positive vibes of Lord Shiva. Morning darshan is especially serene and not too crowded. Visitors should wear simple traditional clothes or dhoti, as western wear is not allowed. There are good, budget-friendly dormitory stay options near the temple. Apart from the main shrine, you can explore scenic viewpoints, local markets, ropeway rides, and nearby holy sites like Sakshi Ganapati and Pathala Ganga, making it a spiritually and naturally enriching experience.

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple – A Divine Dawn at Srisailam The experience of visiting **Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple** in the early morning hours is one that words can hardly capture. Nestled amidst the serene Nallamala hills, this ancient temple stands as one of the twelve *Jyotirlingas* dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the eighteen *Shakti Peethas* devoted to Goddess Parvati, in her form as *Bhramaramba Devi*. This sacred confluence of Shiva and Shakti makes Srisailam one of the most powerful spiritual centers in India, where devotion and divinity seem to flow through the very air. As you approach the temple at dawn, around **5:00 a.m.**, the atmosphere transforms into something truly mystical — the gentle hum of chants, the ringing of bells, and the fragrance of camphor and jasmine together create an aura that feels like the divine itself has awakened with the first light of day. Booking the **Alankara Darshanam ticket** in advance adds to the convenience and allows for a seamless experience of witnessing the Lord in his adorned form. The early morning hour is considered most auspicious, and as the temple doors open, the cool breeze carries a sense of sanctity that instantly calms the mind. The **darshanam**, though completed within **10 minutes**, leaves an impression that lasts far longer. The moment you stand before **Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy**, the *Jyotirlinga* radiates a tranquil glow, symbolizing the eternal presence of Shiva. The priests perform the *Alankaram* (decoration) with utmost devotion — adorned with flowers, sandal paste, and sacred ornaments, the deity exudes divine grace and energy. The quiet reverence among the devotees and the rhythmic sound of mantras make it an experience beyond material understanding — it feels as though the entire world has come to a standstill before the supreme power. Following this, the **darshan of Goddess Bhramaramba Devi** completes the journey of devotion. The sanctum of Ammavaru is filled with divine vibrations, her idol beautifully decorated with turmeric, kumkum, and flowers. Her eyes seem alive — radiating both compassion and strength. Sitting for a few moments in front of **Bhramaramba Devi**, one can feel a mother’s warmth and the goddess’s powerful energy blending into one. The sound of *Devi Stotras* being chanted by devotees enhances the experience, and you can sense the protective aura that surrounds the entire shrine. It’s said that a visit to Srisailam is incomplete without seeking the blessings of Ammavaru, for she is the very embodiment of Shakti that sustains the universe. After the darshan, taking a **peaceful walk around the temple premises** for an hour is in itself a form of meditation. The temple corridors, built in traditional Dravidian architecture, echo with ancient chants and stories of saints who once walked the same paths. The morning mist slowly lifting over the temple towers (gopurams) adds a divine glow to the surroundings. The sight of devotees circumambulating the temple barefoot, heads bowed in prayer, fills the heart with humility and gratitude. The rhythmic clang of bells, the faint sound of temple drums, and the occasional cry of distant birds together compose a symphony that quiets the mind completely. Sitting in one of the temple corners after the darshan — especially near the **Krishna River view or under the ancient Peepal tree** — is a deeply meditative experience. The early morning stillness, interrupted only by the soft chants and the rustling of leaves, allows your thoughts to dissolve into peace. Many devotees simply sit in silence, eyes closed, feeling the presence of the divine within. It’s in these moments that one realizes why Srisailam is regarded as a place of liberation (*Moksha Prapthi Kshetram*). The union of Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bhramaramba symbolizes the balance of energy — *Shiva and Shakti*, *Silence and Sound*, *Peace and Power*.

The Shri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam is an incredibly powerful and must-visit pilgrimage site. It holds the rare and sacred distinction of being both one of the 12 Jyotirlingas (Lord Shiva) and one of the Ashta Dasha Shakti Peethas (Goddess Bhramaramba) located in the same complex. Also it is budget friendly trip. Lots of staying options are available near temple and by online booking you can get sparsh darshan.
Sagar P — Google review
The temple is truly a peaceful and divine place where one can feel positive energy and calmness. I always find a sense of inner peace here. However, the management needs serious improvement. The temple authorities and staff often behave rudely with devotees, which spoils the spiritual experience. There is no proper communication or announcement regarding temple closing times, leaving visitors confused and disappointed. Also, the Sparsh Darshan tickets are available only through the official online site, but the website is poorly designed and often doesn’t work properly. It would be much better if the temple management focused on improving the online system and showing more respect and hospitality towards devotees.
Mayank S — Google review
The only Shrine in India with Both the Jyothirlingam and Shakti Peetham located with in the same Pranganam of the Temple. One of the most powerful temples in India. Srisailam has a good connectivity by Bus from major cities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. If by Train, the nearest Stations are Markapur Road/ Nandyala. Depsite being the Shakti Peetham and Jyothirlingam, temple won't be much crowded as it is in the interior part of the State. Can expect more crowd during Special Occasions and on weekends. We visited in the Karthika Maasam and on weekend. It took 1hr for us for Darshanam. Crowd increases from morning to evening. Plan to reach temple premises by night or in the morning as the Ghat road will be closed midnight as it is forest area. Lot number of Hotels/ Satram's/ Dharamshala's will be there near Shrine. Please note that Sparsha Darshanam will only be there on weekdays and can be booked online. Have a beautiful Stay!

Popular, family-friendly shoreline featuring quaint resort cottages with a/c & a restaurant.
I don’t remember what we ate, or even what day it was.But I remember the feeling: full heart, quiet joy, peace. I went to the beach expecting sunshine and waves—what I left with was something deeper. Stick around for sunset — the view over the ocean is incredible, and often the beach clears out a bit by then, giving it a more serene vibe.

The feeling of being there is simply amazing – the sound of the ocean waves crashing, the cool breeze, and the peaceful vibe that fills the air. The sun view is breathtaking, and the beach itself is serene and beautiful, with the gentle tides lapping at the shore. The sight of colorful fishing boats lining the beach adds a local charm, and it's a wonderful experience to see the fishermen going about their work. The ocean view is endless and calming, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxation or enjoying some quiet time. Safety is a priority here, with lifeguards present along the beach and lifeguard towers ensuring visitors' well-being. The beach also has a police center with officers patrolling, adding an extra layer of security for tourists. The morning sunrise and evening sunset are the most preferred times to visit, as they offer stunning views that are absolutely worth watching. Additionally, restaurants and luggage centers are conveniently located just 100 meters from the beach. Suryalanka Beach can get crowded, but it adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the place. It's located about 10 km from Bapatla Town, and there are plenty of autos available for transport at a reasonable rate. The cost for a shared auto ride is typically around ₹30 per person, while individual rentals are priced between ₹200-300. A must-try here is the fish fry in the evening, which is freshly prepared and incredibly delicious. If you're looking to stay overnight, there are several hotels in the area, ranging from ₹1000 to ₹5000 per day, depending on your budget. The hotels near the beach tend to be more expensive, while those farther away offer more affordable options. Whether you're looking to spend the day enjoying the sun or trying local seafood, it's an ideal spot to unwind and make lasting memories.

Suryalanka Beach offers a beautiful and serene coastal experience, perfect for both relaxation and adventure. The location is stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset, making it ideal for photography and peaceful moments. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including horse riding, exploring the local market, trying local food, and even enjoying a bit of thrill with beachside driving and drifts. However, the main drawback is the condition of the public washrooms. Although they are free to use, they are poorly maintained. With only two buckets available for around 20 washrooms and a general lack of cleanliness, the facilities fall short in terms of hygiene. Overall, while the beach and surrounding experience are delightful, better maintenance of basic amenities like washrooms would greatly enhance the visit.

Sights & Landmarks
Prakasam Barrage, a low dam and road bridge inaugurated in 1957, stretches over 1223 meters across the Krishna River. This iconic structure not only serves as a crucial irrigation construction but also offers breathtaking views of the river and its surroundings from an elevated height. With its 160 pillars connecting Vijayawada with NTR and Guntur districts, it provides mesmerizing experiences during both day and night.
I visited in the early morning 5 am , the barrage lit up in the everyday evening with decorative lights that enhance its architectural elegance and make it a striking visual landmark. The gentle flow of water and the cool evening breeze make it a relaxing spot for a walk or quiet contemplation.
Saketh R — Google review
Prakasam Barrage is one of the most iconic landmarks of Vijayawada, built across the Krishna River. This magnificent structure was originally constructed by the British and completed in 1855. Later, it was named after Tanguturi Prakasam, the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The barrage is a hydraulic engineering marvel, designed to regulate the flow of the Krishna River and provide irrigation water to vast stretches of land in Andhra Pradesh. Stretching around 1223.5 meters, the barrage is built with incredible strength and durability. Even after more than a century, it still stands strong and continues to serve its purpose efficiently. The road on top of the barrage connects Vijayawada with other regions and offers one of the most scenic drives or walks in the city. Located just opposite to the famous Kanaka Durga Temple, it's easily walkable from the temple premises. The evening times are especially pleasant, with the cool breeze from the river, the glow of street lights reflecting on the water, and the calm vibe all around making it a perfect spot to relax. From the barrage, you get a stunning panoramic view of the Krishna River, the distant train bridge, and the beautiful mountains in the backdrop. The combination of natural beauty and engineering brilliance makes this place a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Entry is free, and it’s a great place to take an evening walk, click some photos, or simply sit and enjoy the peaceful environment. Whether you're a history lover, a nature admirer, or someone just looking to unwind, Prakasam Barrage is a must-visit spot in Vijayawada.

The place is clean and neat. The workers who sweep the road keep telling us not to throw plastic and food items there, and they will be fined for that. I loved the little places Vijayawada and Prakasam Barrage. Overall a very good experience. While crossing that railway bridge I just got Kerala vibes. Krishna River in between and trees on the side, completely green n clean. Just an amazing place

Free Annaprasad of Rice, Sambar, Curry, Chutney, curd will be There. Cell phone are not allowed inside the temple. Locker facilities also available below the Hill.

1. Can go for divinity and vibe. 2. Here brahmins force for money ( Giving 2 star because of this and third point) Temple became so commercial. 3. Better go for free darshan than 100 rupees ticket, at least in free darshan we can stand few minutes but in 100 rs ticket they are pushing us in 2 seconds. 4. Prasadam is good. 5. Maintenance is average. 6. Footware keeping charges - Free 7. Mobile & luggage keeping charges - 5Rs/ item ( but we can take mobiles inside by keeping in pocket or bag, they will not check much 😛) 8. Drinking area is worst. 9. Bus facility is available for temple to go to top of hill - cost 10rs/-

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam—commonly known as the Kanaka Durga Temple—located atop the Indrakeeladri hill in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh 🌸 Overview & Significance Officially named Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Kanaka Durga, revered as a self-manifested (Swayambhu) deity . Timings & Facilities • Open daily from 5:00 AM to approximately 9:30 or 9:40 PM with a short break midday . • Facilities include parking, cloakrooms for storing footwear and phones, and prasadam counters serving local delicacies like laddu and pulihora at nominal cost (e.g. ₹15 and ₹5) ⭐ Pros & Cons ✅ Pros • Highly revered spiritual site, especially during festivals such as Navratri and Dussehra . • Lift and stairs options provide flexibility for all visitors, including elderly or less-abled individuals . • Well-maintained temple campus, with beautiful panoramic views from the hilltop. Visitors frequently mention feeling calm and spiritually uplifted . ❌ Cons • Temple premises can get overcrowded, especially during weekends and festival seasons; morning hours are recommended for quieter darshan . • Some reviewers note that cleanliness and organization could be improved in high-traffic areas . • Limited seating or rest areas inside, especially up top—visitors must often sit on the floor; stairs can be steep for elders. “A majestic and spiritually charged destination atop the Indrakeeladri hill. The journey—whether by stairs or elevator—is rewarding, with stunning views and divine presence. Early morning darshan ensures serenity. We were traveling from Bengaluru to Kolkata, but since we didn’t get a direct ticket, we first went via Vijayawada and then planned to continue towards Odisha. At Vijayawada station, we had about 4 hours to spend, so we decided to visit a nearby temple, it was within walking distance. We reached there around 11 PM, but unfortunately, the temple was closed. Still, the experience was beautiful. The mountain view, the river, and the clean roads around Vijayawada created such a peaceful vibe. Even without darshan, it felt special. Hopefully, someday I’ll return and have the blessing of a proper darshan.

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, popularly known as Kanaka Durga Temple, is one of the most spiritually powerful and culturally significant temples in Andhra Pradesh. Located on the picturesque Indrakeeladri Hill, right beside the majestic Krishna River in Vijayawada, the temple offers both spiritual serenity and breathtaking natural views. 🌸 Spiritual Atmosphere & Divine Presence The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kanaka Durga, considered a swayambhu (self-manifested) deity, and is believed to grant strength, prosperity, and protection. As soon as you enter the temple premises, there’s a palpable sense of divinity and peace. The energy in the sanctum, especially during archanas and special poojas, is truly moving. During major festivals like Navaratri, the Goddess is decorated in nine different forms (Alankaram) each day, and the celebrations are grand, with lakhs of devotees attending. Despite the crowds, the temple management does a commendable job organizing queues and darshan facilities. 🚶‍♀️Accessibility & Facilities You can reach the top either by climbing the steps, taking the gently winding ghat road, or using the lift/elevator facility for special ticket holders. From the top, the panoramic view of the Krishna River, cityscape, and the Prakasam Barrage is simply mesmerizing—worth the visit alone. Facilities are well-maintained. The temple offers: • Clean drinking water • Lockers for footwear and personal items • Special and free darshan queues • Clean restrooms • A free annadanam hall that serves wholesome prasadam to devotees 🕉️ Historical and Cultural Significance This temple is not just a place of worship; it’s steeped in history and mythology. It’s said that Adi Shankaracharya installed the Sri Chakra here. The presence of Lord Malleswara Swamy (Shiva) beside Durga Devi reflects the deep-rooted Shaiva-Shakta traditions in the region. Several sub-shrines are located within the complex, dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya, Vinayaka, Anjaneya Swamy, Nataraja Swamy, and others—making the temple a spiritually rich and inclusive space. ✅ Pros: • Spiritually uplifting environment • Scenic location with a stunning view • Smooth crowd management (especially on regular days) • Free prasadam and annadanam • Cultural and historical richness • Good road connectivity and transport options ❗Areas for Improvement: • Can get extremely crowded during festivals, with long waiting times • Limited parking space during peak hours • Weather can be hot and humid in summer, so mornings and evenings are better times to visit

A visit to Sree Seetha Ramachandraswamy Vari Devasthanam at Bhadrachalam is a divine and unforgettable spiritual experience. Nestled on the banks of the sacred river Godavari, this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Sri Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, along with Goddess Sita and Lord Lakshmana. As you approach the temple, the serene atmosphere and the sound of temple bells fill your heart with devotion and peace. The grandeur of the gopuram, the sacred chants of priests, and the fragrance of flowers create a deeply spiritual ambiance. During Darshanam, devotees feel an immense sense of joy and fulfillment upon seeing the beautifully adorned idols of Sri Rama, Sita Devi, and Lakshmana. The divine glow of the sanctum sanctum evokes reverence and surrender. The temple’s history, linked to Saint Bhakta Ramadasu, adds a touch of devotion and sacrifice, reminding visitors of the power of faith. After darshan, taking a dip in the holy Godavari and offering prayers completes the sacred journey. Truly, Bhadrachalam is “Dakshina Ayodhya”—the abode of Lord Rama.🙏

We visited today, and what a blessed and divine experience it was! Though it wasn’t a planned trip, we were fortunate to participate in the Sri Seeta Rama Kalyanam — a deeply spiritual moment for us. We reached around 9 AM, and by 10:40 AM, the Kalyanam, Darshan, and prayers were all beautifully completed. Darshan at the Garbha Gudi was very close and peaceful — a spiritually energizing moment with Lord Rama, Seeta Devi, and Lakshmana Swamy. Post prayers, free Annadanam (lunch) was served to all devotees — such a noble service. Though we couldn’t take a dip in the Godavari due to low water levels, the temple atmosphere and Kalyana Laddu made the experience extra special! ⸻ Helpful Tips for Visitors: • Kalyanam Tickets: No advance booking required. You can buy on the same morning or online (carry a printout if booked online). • Dress Code for Kalyanam: Only Dhoti/Lungi with Kanduva allowed. Shirts, pants, salwars, etc. are strictly not permitted. • Parking: Available but can be tight on weekends and holidays. • Distance from Hyderabad: Approx. 6 hours drive with breaks. A must-visit temple for spiritual seekers. We felt truly blessed! #BhadrachalamTemple

Antarvedi Narasimha Temple is located in the peaceful village of Antarvedi in the Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the prominent temples of Lord Narasimha in Andhra Pradesh. Also known as Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, it is one of the Nava Narasimha Kshetras. Lord Narasimha Swamy, along with his consort Lakshmi Devi, are the main Deities of the temple. By the benevolence of Lord Narasimha, this revered spot is known as Dakshina Kashi, or Kashi of the South, since devotees can experience an immense spiritual aura here. It draws large crowds from around the world, with devotees coming to this holy site to seek Lord Narasimha’s blessings for overcoming life’s challenges and achieving success. The temple is situated at the Sagara Sangama, a confluence of the massive Bay of Bengal and the Vashista River, a tributary of the Godavari River. It offers a breathtaking view of the merging waters for pilgrims. This sacred spot is called Sapta Sagara Sangama Pradesha, where the Vashista River meets the Bay of Bengal, holding immense spiritual and cultural significance. Natives of this place fondly call it “Anna Chelli Gattu.” Unlike the seawater, which is salty, the water here is sweet and cool. Devotees honor this water as prasadam and partake of it as tirtha, which is one of the most astonishing aspects of this temple. This confluence is considered very auspicious and is believed to be one of the seven holy bathing spots in India. This is the major attraction of the place, which pulls the crowd towards its scenic beauty. The temple is magnificently emplaced on a small island, with the Bay of Bengal embracing one side, while the Godavari River gloriously surrounds the other three sides. This offers a stunning panoramic view of natural beauty, making it a truly enchanting and serene destination for pilgrims.

First things first, i liked the idea of the temple management to purposefully make devotees go around the temple once before entering the main temple. There are idols of all avatars of lord vishnu including kalki avatara. The main idols of lord krishna and radha along with puri jagannadh and lord venkateshwara are very beautiful. Its very peaceful within the main temple. They also have a small museum at the ground floor and a goshaala. Please do donate if you can. Parking space is ample on the road. They have free slipper stand. Once you are done with darshan and come out, on the left of the temple is the way for Gauthami ghat. Spend some time there looking at the godavari river. I just clicked the pictures from outside as taking photos or videos is prohibited within temple premises

Temple was built very great with wonderful architecture and multiple temples inside of it. It has two floors. It is one of the oldest temple in India with lord Shiva blessings. This place is also one of the shakti peetam in India. Lord Shiva was 14feet height. It has chikati konam at lower floor. Upper floor lord Shiva present top portion. Abhishekam and pooja are done there. Priests here are good but the abhishekam and kumkum pooja are done by other priests which is not a good sign because after buying tickets also we need to pay extra for other priests for abhishekam and kumkum pooja.

Sri Bhimeswara Swamy Temple at Draksharamam, also known as Daksharamam, is one of the most ancient and sacred Pancharama Kshetras dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here, Lord Bhimeswara Swamy is worshipped along with Goddess Manikyamba Devi, who is regarded as one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas. This combination of Shaiva and Shakti worship makes the temple spiritually very powerful and unique. The temple architecture is stunning, with grand stone structures, intricate carvings, and a deep sense of heritage. The atmosphere inside the temple is calm and divine, and darshan of Lord Bhimeswara Swamy and Goddess Manikyamba Devi brings immense peace and blessings. The temple premises are well maintained, and facilities like prasadam counters and queue arrangements are organized. As one of the Pancharama temples and a Shakti Peetham, Draksharamam holds great cultural, historical, and religious importance. Visiting this temple feels like a journey into spirituality and tradition, making it a must-visit for devotees of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

We visited the **Draksharama Sri Manikyambadevi Sametha Sri Bheemeswara Swami Temple** with our family, and it was a truly peaceful and memorable experience. The temple is filled with divine energy, and the atmosphere brings instant calmness to the mind and soul. One of the most striking features here is the **very tall temple structure**, which adds to the majestic and powerful presence of the temple. The detailed stone carvings and ancient architecture are amazing to see and show the rich history and devotion behind this holy place. It’s not just a temple—it’s a spiritual retreat. Sitting in silence or doing meditation here feels very special. The energy is so pure and strong that you can feel your mind becoming calm and focused. It’s the perfect place to relax mentally and spiritually. The temple is also deeply historical, with many stories connected to it. You can feel the weight of centuries of devotion as you walk through the premises. Everything is well maintained, and the temple is very clean and organized, making it comfortable for families and elderly visitors too. We truly enjoyed our time here. It’s a place that brings peace, devotion, and a deep connection to the divine. We highly recommend visiting with family for a meaningful and serene experience.

Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is a vast mangrove forest that serves as a nature preserve, providing protection for a diverse range of wildlife. The sanctuary is home to over 35 species of mangroves and more than 120 rare bird species, making it an ideal destination for birdwatching enthusiasts. Notably, the sanctuary is known for its population of highly endangered vultures.
Loved the board walk among the mangroves, enjoyed boating and the play area for kids. They should arrange a golf buggy or some environment friendly transport for senior citizens and differently abled people so that they can also enjoy the boat ride.

Amazing place to visit if you are a nature lover. Boat ride through backwater through mangrove forest reminded me of Amazon forest in Ecuador. Pls check low tide and high tide timings. Totally different experience. If you want to walk on wooden platform through Mangrove, U must go when there is high tide. Great place to take bird pictures.

Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful natural spot near Kakinada, famous for its mangrove forests and wide variety of birds. The lush greenery, wooden walkways, and calm atmosphere make it a perfect place for nature lovers and photographers. It is home to many species of birds, crabs, and other wildlife, and the sight of mangroves spread across the backwaters is truly mesmerizing. The sanctuary has good walking trails and viewpoints, but some facilities like seating, signboards, and maintenance can be improved. During certain seasons, especially mornings and evenings, birdwatching is a delightful experience. Overall, Coringa is a peaceful getaway for families, students, and travelers who want to enjoy nature, photography, and a break from city life. With better upkeep, this place can become one of the best eco-tourism spots in Andhra Pradesh.
Sumanth K — Google review
Nice and calm experience. Kids will enjoy and get a chance to learn about the unique mangrove ecosystem. Keen eyes can spot many birds while walking through the mangrove forest on pathways constructed of wooden boards. It can get really sultry in hot weather. The watchtower gives a good view of the surrounding mangrove forest. There are couple of shops serving refreshments inside. Plastic is banned. You can have a short boat ride upto the river mouth. Normal and speed boats are available, but the counter accepts only cash due to poor network. I will recommend visiting in the mornings or evenings to avoid the harsh sun.
Sachin R — Google review
This place is one of the best kept secrets of India. The pathway is constructed through the bushes in such a way that one can enjoy the freshest oxygen while having a walk. Boating is also another worthy experience, where we enter the mouth of Eastern sea by Godavari estuary and surrounded by dense mangroves on both the sides.

Om Varaha Narasimha Swamiye Namaha 🙏 Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is truly a must-visit pilgrimage spot and tourist attraction. The temple is located atop a scenic hill, and the journey itself feels refreshing as you move upwards into the cool breeze. At the base of the hill, vehicles need to pay a small entry fee (₹30 for cars, ₹10 for bikes, ₹40 for maxi cabs, ₹75 for lorries, and ₹100 for mini buses). Free bus and normal bus facilities are also available for devotees. Parking is provided near the temple. ✨ Darshan Timings: Morning: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM Afternoon: 12:15 PM – 2:30 PM Evening: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM Night: 8:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Temple remains closed during Naivedyam and Pavalimpu rituals: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM, 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM, and 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM). The temple is well-maintained and offers wheelchair access and lift facilities, making it convenient for elderly and differently-abled visitors. There is also a cell phone, camera, and laptop deposit counter (₹10 for mobiles/cameras and ₹50 for laptops). For devotees who wish to go by steps, there is a Metlu Margham (steps path) leading up to the temple. Along this path, you can also have darshan of a separate Varaha Swamy Vigraham, which adds to the spiritual experience before reaching the main sanctum. Inside the temple premises, you’ll find a Kalyanakatta (for hair offering), a gosala (cow shelter), and a prasadam counter where Pulihora costs ₹10 and Laddu ₹15. Free Annaprasadam is also served, though there’s usually a waiting line. Darshan is available in three categories – Free Darshan, ₹100 ticket, and ₹300 ticket. Weekends, especially Saturdays, tend to be very crowded. If possible, it’s best to visit on weekdays for a smoother darshan experience. Overall, the temple combines spiritual divinity with serene natural beauty, making it a must-visit for both pilgrims and travelers. Plan your visit well, as on rush days the waiting time can be quite long.

Ramakrishna Beach, also known as RK Beach, is a popular destination in Visakhapatnam for both locals and tourists. It offers a stretch of sandy shore with rough waves and rock formations, making it ideal for walkers and sunbathers. The beach comes alive during sunset with street food vendors, small shops, and visitors gathering to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Located near the Kali Mata temple, it is part of the city's bustling seafront area.
Highlight of Vizag. The beautiful beach, well maintained and happening. Visitors can simply go to the beach, sit on the seats and enjoy the view. The port can also be seen on the right hand side. There are plenty hotels, restaurants, cafes and street food options. Perfect family weekend outing spot also. A must visit place.

Ramakrishna Beach to use Gen Z parlance is the most "happening" place in Vizag with something for everyone. Stunning views of the Bay of Bengal, golden sands, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets if you are a nature lover. There are also patches of beach shaded by coconut trees called Coco Arenas, ideal spots to relax by the beach. For history buffs there are four museums dedicated to the rich history of Visakhapatnam as the HQ of the Eastern Naval Command. The INS Kursura a museum housed in a decommissioned submarine which gives glimpses of life inside a submarine. TU 142 Museum showcases the history of Naval Aviation and features a well preserved TU 142 aircraft. The Sea Harrier Museum and White Tiger Zone showcase the history of the Sea Harrier aircraft a British built fighter jet capable of vertical lift off and landing, deployed in the 1980's. UH3H Museum is the latest addition showcasing the legacy of the UH3H Helicopter first deployed by the Indian Navy in 2007. The Museum features an actual helicopter allowing visitors to explore the interior of the aircraft. Evenings become a hive of activity when crowds throng the beaches and vendors occupy every available nook or corner selling from authentic local gourmet delights to innumerable knick knacks.

This was an absolutely stunning beach. The sand was warm and soft, and the water was clear and calm, perfect for a relaxing swim. It was very clean with no litter, and had a peaceful atmosphere with only the sound of the waves. The views, especially at sunset, were breathtaking. We loved how quiet it was, making it feel like a private escape, though it was close enough to walk to nearby restaurants when we wanted. RK (Ramakrishna) Beach boasts a truly grand and vibrant atmosphere. The drive along the beautiful Beach Road is a scenic delight, and the area is remarkably clean and well-maintained, reflecting its status as a city landmark. The grandeur comes from the wide shoreline and monuments like the Submarine Museum nearby. Perfect for an evening stroll or sunrise viewing!

The beach is well-maintained, with walking paths, food stalls, and seating areas. You can enjoy local snacks, take a stroll with family, or just sit and enjoy the waves. The nearby attractions like Submarine Museum, TU-142 Aircraft Museum, and Kailasagiri ropeway add more charm to the location. Crowds can be high during weekends, but the atmosphere always feels safe and energetic. Parking and basic facilities are also decent.

The VMRDA INS Kursura Submarine Museum, located on RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, is a popular tourist attraction. This museum features the INS Kurusura, a Russian-built submarine that was inducted into the Indian Navy in 1969 and decommissioned in 2001 after 31 years of service. It is the first submarine museum in Asia and the second in the world.
Wonderful experience of a lifetime. U get to experience the real view inside a marine lifestyle of submarine. The narrow spaces, multiple wires, switches, a treat to the eyes. Shows us how much struggle the navy goes through to protect us. Simply incredible. No photography inside the museum. Only disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning , except in compartment 1. Ticket price per head, 100/- A must must visit at vizag

Located right at Ramakrishna Beach (RK Beach), this place has a total of four war-related museums — INS Kursura Submarine Museum, TU-142 Aircraft Museum, Sea Harrier Museum, and UH-3H Helicopter Museum. If you plan to visit all four at once, the combined ticket is ₹200 per person. However, if you visit them individually, the ticket price is ₹100 per person per museum. Among all, the INS Kursura Submarine Museum is a must-visit once in a lifetime. It gives you a real glimpse into the tough life of our naval officers inside a submarine — how they live, work, and protect us deep under the sea during naval missions. I’ve uploaded a few inside pictures to give you an idea, but honestly, seeing it in person is a completely different experience — something you won’t find anywhere else. Just outside the museum gate, there’s a souvenir shop where you can buy small gifts and mementos to remember your visit. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Vizag or RK Beach! 🇮🇳⚓

The Submarine Museum in Vizag is a fascinating place to visit and gives a unique glimpse into the life of Navy submariners. Located right on the beach, the restored INS Kurusura submarine lets you walk through its narrow passages and see how sailors lived and worked underwater. The guides explain everything clearly, making the experience informative and engaging. The museum is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for families, students, and anyone interested in defense history. It’s not a long visit, but definitely a memorable one. A must-see attraction when exploring the Vizag Beach Road area.

As a Mechanical Engineer, visiting the VMRDA Kursura Submarine Museum in Visakhapatnam was truly one of the most fascinating and inspiring experiences of my life. It’s not just a museum — it’s a living monument of engineering brilliance, naval courage, and Indian innovation that operated during an era when advanced electronics and digital automation were not yet developed. Everything inside this submarine runs purely on mechanical and manual systems, and that alone is enough to amaze anyone who loves machines and real-world engineering. The moment I stepped inside the submarine, I felt as if I had travelled back in time. The narrow corridors, control panels, and precisely arranged valves, levers, and gauges all tell a story of sheer human skill and endurance. Every inch of the Kursura showcases the dedication of Indian Navy officers who operated it with precision and bravery, defending our coastline under extreme conditions. It gave me a real sense of the challenges our naval heroes faced — limited space, high pressure, mechanical complexity, and the constant responsibility of keeping the submarine functional deep under the sea. From an engineering point of view, the Kursura is nothing short of a masterpiece. The way mechanical linkages, pressure systems, and propulsion units were integrated decades ago — all without modern sensors or computer controls — left me speechless. The attention to detail in the design reflects the intelligence and creativity of engineers of that generation. Even today, many of the internal systems are preserved in near-working condition, giving visitors a rare chance to see how things actually functioned when the submarine was active. Learning that the submarine was given a voluntary retirement after serving the nation for many years made me respect it even more. It wasn’t decommissioned due to failure, but because technology advanced and newer submarines with digital systems took over. Still, Kursura remains a symbol of mechanical engineering excellence and continues to educate thousands of visitors every year about how powerful and reliable purely mechanical systems can be. The museum staff and guides deserve appreciation too — they explain every section clearly and ensure that visitors understand the importance of each control room, torpedo section, and engine bay. Standing inside the engine room, hearing about how the diesel engines worked and how oxygen and pressure were maintained underwater, made me feel proud to be an engineer. It truly connects theory with reality — from thermodynamics to fluid mechanics, everything is right there in front of your eyes. I strongly recommend every student, engineer, and patriotic Indian to visit the Kursura Submarine Museum at least once. It’s not just about seeing an old naval vessel — it’s about experiencing the blend of science, courage, and history that shaped our defense capabilities. The Kursura is not only a war hero but also a museum of inspiration, reminding us that great things can be achieved with determination, teamwork, and innovative engineering. 🇮🇳

The proudest and most iconic reminder of Visakhapatnam's history as the HQ of the Indian Navy's Eastern Command, the Submarine Museum in Vizag, also known as INS Kursura Submarine Museum, is a must visit, one of a kind tourist attraction in the City. It's housed in a decommissioned Kaveri Class Soviet-built submarine, INS Kursura, which was decommissioned in 2001 after having served the Indian Navy for 31 years. The museum provides an immersive experience, offering insights into life inside a submarine and the complexities of underwater warfare. On display are various sections of a submarine, including the control room, torpedo room, crew quarters, the radar room and the engine room.

Not worth the money they charge as there's no one to guide you or give more information. It is all self learning. Gave 4 stars for the preservation and providing common public a chance to see what is inside a submarine.

Caverns & Caves
Borra Caves, nestled in the Ananthagiri Hills of Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh, are a remarkable natural attraction formed over 150 million years ago. These limestone caves were discovered in 1807 and are known for their stunning stalactites and stalagmites. The caves' kaleidoscopic nature is enhanced by the interplay of light and waterfalls, creating a magical ambiance.
Borra Caves is a beautiful natural wonder. As you enter, you’ll immediately feel a drop in temperature — it’s pleasantly cool inside. There’s also a small, serene temple within the cave that adds to the charm. You can take plenty of great photos here, especially with the dramatic rock formations and natural lighting. The entry fee is ₹80 per person as of June 2025. Do watch out for monkeys around the area, especially near food or bags. You'll also find many scenic natural spots outside the cave that are perfect for photography.
RUPESH N — Google review
Great outdoor activity full of natural beauty and a bit of adventure. The way the caves are lit up with colorful lights makes everything look magnificent. The lighting helps you see the amazing rock formations clearly and adds to the whole experience. There are steps throughout the cave, which makes it easier to walk, but the caves go quite deep, so you’ll be going down a lot. You can even hear bats inside, which gives it a real cave-like feeling! One important warning – beware of monkeys! Witnessed three live “robberies” where monkeys jumped and snatched food from visitors, even from their hands. They are quick and not afraid, so don’t carry any food openly, and keep your bags zipped. It’s funny at first but can be scary too. One thing to remember – the climb back up can be tough, especially for older people or anyone who isn't used to a lot of stairs. So it’s good to think before going too deep, and take your time while coming back up. It also gets a bit crowded. The caves are very clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend Borra Caves – a perfect mix of nature, fun, and a bit of exercise!

Visiting Borra Caves was an incredible experience with stunning natural formations inside the caves that left me amazed. The cool, mysterious atmosphere and intricate stalactites and stalagmites made it a must-see attraction. Adding to the adventure, the zip line nearby offered an exhilarating ride with breathtaking views of the surrounding forest and hills—perfect for thrill-seekers. A fun and memorable moment was watching monkeys cheekily stealing corn from visitors, adding some lively wildlife interaction to the trip. It was amusing but also a reminder to keep a close eye on belongings! After the outdoor excitement, trying bamboo chicken was a delicious treat—juicy, flavorful, and cooked right in the bamboo, it embodied authentic local cuisine. Overall, the combination of natural wonders, adventure activities, playful wildlife, and tasty food made for a fantastic visit worth recommending to anyone traveling to the region.

Its a geological nature's marvel. It was 1992 established tourist spot. The caves no doubt continue to age gracefully with limestone carvings but the maintenance is not good. Entry ticket in increased to 80/- per adult and 60/- for children. Baggage counter 20/- for each bag. 100/- for video DSLR camera etc. Free Toilets are there but not maintained. The safety measures inside the caves are not proper. Cleanliness not maintained. Feeding monkeys have make the monkeys a nuisance. Most importantly, private taxi association/union has ruined the connectivity. APRTC buses connectivity is not found from borra caves to araku. Make sure to wear good gripping shoes and cotton/linen fabric. The temple inside the cave, the stairs are very narrow so beware.

Borra Caves is an incredible natural wonder! The interior limestone formations are breathtaking, and the evening lighting effects create a dramatic and magical ambience. Outside, there are plenty of food options to enjoy, and we appreciated the free restroom facility for visitors. A must-see destination!

Visited Borra Caves recently — it was a good experience overall! The caves are huge and naturally beautiful, but honestly, I felt Belum Caves offer a bit more to explore inside. Borra Caves isn’t a single spot — the trip includes Araku Valley, waterfalls, and scenic views along the way, which makes the entire journey worth it. 🌿✨ If you’re planning a weekend getaway, it’s a great experience — but I’d also recommend visiting Belum Caves for a more detailed cave adventure!
Jayadheer Y — Google review
Located in Ananthagiri Hills of the Eastern Ghats near Araku in Visakhapatnam District, the Borra Caves feature stunning formations of stalactites and stalagmites, created over 150 million years through the slow dripping of mineral-rich water on a humongous limestone mass. The constant dripping of water enhances the surreal charm of the caves. This wonderful work of nature's art is situated on the banks of the Gosthani River, which adds to the scenic beauty of the place. The caves, discovered in the 19th have spiritual significance, with many believing that the formations resemble Lord Shiva and other deities. Atop one of the caves is a tiny shrine to Lord Shiva with a resident pandit offering prayers and blessings to devotees. The caves were discovered by the British geologist William King George in 1807. The aesthetic beauty of the caves has been spoilt with the installation of garish lights of many colours. CAUTION: Please watch your step because the constantly dripping water makes the floor very slippery.

When I browsed about places to explore during my recent visit to Araku,Borra caves was in the top suggestion everywhere and after visiting the place I understand why!!! I was truly astonished by this beautiful creature of nature indeed giving me vibes of being in a Stone Age story!! It was indeed a good experience!! But there are some observations about the amenities over there like washrooms, flooring and hand railing inside the Borra caves which can be improved for a better experience.

The town is also a commercial port, making it an ideal tourist destination to experience the magical sunrise and sunset while enjoying a scenic boat ride. The beach boasts clean and secluded stretches lined with casuarina groves, making for an enchanting sight.
Gopalpur Beach felt calm and less crowded, which made it a nice place to relax. The sea waves were strong, so swimming is at your own risk. The soft sand and cool breeze made the walk enjoyable. Maa Tara Tarini Temple

Set atop a hill, this legendary temple is a major pilgrimage center for the Shakta sect of Hinduism.
It feels so powerful after visiting the temple. But be aware of the dangerous, violent and wild monkeys. They can attack you anytime which we experienced there. Avoid giving food to them and don’t tease them at all. The temple is above the hills and I visited in the month of May,2025 and beautification of the premises was going on. To reach the top of the hill you can either take cable which I would recommend. They charge ₹65 for both up and down for a ride. It is beautiful. Photography is not allowed inside the temple. You can take photos outside the temple. I saw several pre wedding photo shoot. I am thankful for the administration of the temple for having first aid which helped to medicate the injury caused due to the attack of monkey. Again I repeat be aware of monkeys.

The temple is situated atop of mountain, offering breathtaking views of temple and nearby. Visit the shrine of Goddess Tara Tarini and admire its architectural style. The Rushikulya river flows beside the temple, enhancing the scenic beauty. Parking is available with a small fee but personal vehicles are not permitted to go up to the temple. A passenger bus provides transport to and from the temple. In addition to the bus service, visitors can also take a ropeway ride to the temple with prices that may differ. To experience the ropeway, one must wait a large amount of time and a single cable car can accommodate only four individuals, whereas a bus can transport 20-25 people or even more at once. There is a shoe stand available outside the temple for storing footwear. Be cautious of monkeys! Do not feed them anything and if you do, be cautious around a group of them. You can bring bags with you but always remain attentive while waiting in line for the bus or during your tour of the temple.

Maa Tara Tarini Temple is a Hindu temple of Adi Shakti and one of the Adi Shakti Pithas, at the Ratnagiri hills on the bank of Rushikulya river near Purushottampur in Ganjam district of Odisha. It is believed that the Shakti Pithas are the locations where the body parts of Maa Sati fell, after being cut by the Sudarshan chakra of Lord Vishnu during the events of the Daksha yajna. It is said that Tara Tarini Mandir is located where Maa Sati's breasts fell. The temple is one of the four Adi Shakti Pithas: the others being the Kamakhya Temple where the genitals fell, the Vimala Temple where the feet fell, and the Kalighat Kali Temple where the toes of the right foot fell. Chaitra Jatra, also known as Maa Tara Tarini Jatra takes the place of the Hindu month of Chaitra. Devotees believe that getting their children tonsured is auspicious during this period. Hundreds of barbers are kept near the temple to aid the devotees. During this festivity, special Khichdi Bhoga is served to the deities which are later sold to devotees. Maa Tara Tarini Temple is located 30 km from Berhampur and 26 km from Chhatrapur. Full Details video of Maa Taratarini temple is available on my YouTube Channel (@Jayhanumanji) Jay Maa Taratarini 🙏🏻

Sights & Landmarks
The Shree Jagannatha Temple Puri is a revered Hindu pilgrimage destination located in the coastal town of Puri, India. It was constructed in the 12th century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva and has since undergone several additions to its structure. The temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu, and is an important site for worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu.
The Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is one of India’s most sacred and magnificent temples, dedicated to Lord Jagannath — an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Built in the 12th century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the temple stands as a masterpiece of Kalinga architecture, with its towering spire visible from miles away. The complex houses the holy trinity — Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra — symbolizing universal harmony and divine unity. The temple is not just a religious site but also a cultural heartbeat of Odisha. Its daily rituals, traditional music, and the famous Mahaprasad served from the world’s largest kitchen reflect centuries of devotion and community spirit. The annual Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) draws millions of devotees from across the globe, offering a spectacular view of faith and tradition in motion. What makes the Jagannath Temple truly unique is its spiritual inclusiveness — a place where divinity transcends caste, creed, and boundaries. The temple’s mysteries, such as the flag always flying against the wind and the absence of bird shadows above its dome, add to its divine aura. Visiting Jagannath Temple is not merely a pilgrimage but a profound spiritual experience. The chants of “Jai Jagannath,” the sight of the majestic idols, and the sacred atmosphere leave every devotee with deep peace and devotion. It stands as an eternal symbol of faith, love, and unity — the soul of Odisha and the pride of India.

Visiting the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri was one of the most uplifting and memorable experiences of my life. The moment you step into the temple complex, you can feel an atmosphere of deep spirituality and centuries-old tradition that instantly fills you with peace. The temple’s architecture is absolutely stunning—majestic, intricate, and full of history. Every carving and structure feels like it carries a story. The aura around the main sanctum, where Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra reside, is incredibly powerful. Just standing there during darshan is enough to give you goosebumps. One of the best parts of the visit was experiencing the Mahaprasad. It’s prepared with such devotion, and the taste is truly divine. The way thousands of devotees share this sacred food every day creates a beautiful sense of unity and community. The temple administration and volunteers do an admirable job managing the crowd, especially considering how many pilgrims visit daily. Despite the rush, the darshan process felt orderly, respectful, and smooth. The local people around the temple are warm, helpful, and always ready to guide visitors with a smile. The streets surrounding the temple are full of vibrant energy—shops with souvenirs, chants echoing in the air, and a unique cultural atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. If you visit during the Rath Yatra, it’s an indescribably magnificent experience. Overall, the Puri Jagannath Temple is not just a place to visit—it’s a place to feel. What an amazing architecture of Kalinga dynasty. The moment you enter the temple serenity, you can feel the peace and divine happiness. It's one of the four char dham pilgrimage sites. You can see people from all over the country and worldwide bowing down to Lord Jagannatha with the same trust and devotion. The temple is neatly maintained. You can't take any leather items not phone inside the temple as it's strictly prohibited. Before even you enter the temple on your right hand there is a place where you can keep your footware and belongings including phone at a very nominal fees. Make sure you carry small kids and keep them safe with you as you can experience a little rush while entering the temple. You can have the famous Mahaprasad which is served again at a nominal price at the exit of the temple premises. You should sit on the floor and eat the mahaprasad. There are many paid parking space near by temple, if confused ask any rickshaw guy or local they will guide you there till parking space. Overall a great and divine experience.

Golden Beach in Puri is a bustling Hindu sacred place and the venue for the annual Puri Beach Festival and sand displays. It's one of the best beaches in Puri, connected to other nearby beaches like Niladri Beach and Swargadwar Beach. The beach spans about 870 meters and has received Blue Flag certification for its cleanliness and environmental safety.
Puri Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches, perfect for sunrise and especially sunset. The evening breeze and night view are magical. Sit by the shore after sunset and enjoy the waves. It’s cleaner and more peaceful than Chennai’s Marina Beach, making it truly relaxing.

Golden Beach is a very beautiful beach and a very clean beach. You need an entry ticket to enter it.Earlier its tickets used to be a little cheaper. Now its tickets have become expensive. But after going inside you will feel completely forbidden because it has been maintained very well. You will find a lot of peace here because very few people come here. In the meantime, you will get a lot of peace by going here.

A Serene Escape at Puri Golden Beach Our visit to Puri Golden Beach was nothing short of magical. The beach was clean, well-maintained, and beautifully golden—true to its name. The gentle waves and soft sand made it perfect for a peaceful walk or just sitting back and soaking in the view. We arrived early in the morning and were greeted by a stunning sunrise that painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The beach had lifeguards on duty and clear signage, which made us feel safe and comfortable. There were plenty of food stalls nearby offering fresh coconut water, seafood, and local snacks. The vibe was relaxed, with families, couples, and solo travelers all enjoying the calm atmosphere. If you're looking for a scenic, clean, and tranquil beach experience in Odisha, Puri Golden Beach is a must-visit. We left with beautiful memories and a promise to return soon!

My 1st beach visit in my didn't disappointed me. The best experience I had in my life at Puri Beach. It's very well maintained (very clean) and best view for sunset. Pleasant fresh air blowing around. The sounds of the waves are just amazing 🤩

A bit overcrowded, I suggest visiting the BLUE FLAG BEACH , which is a paid beach with minimal entry fees bit wayy better than the golden beach….but the overall experience is good beautiful views and amazing people

A beautiful spot with stunning sea views and clean waves, perfect for enjoying the scenery and taking a relaxing bath in the water. However, the place is usually very crowded, especially during peak hours, so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet or peaceful beach experience. Overall, great for views and fun, but be prepared for the crowd.

The beach is a nice place to relax for a few hours, especially if you love the sound of waves and a calm environment. The natural view is quite good, and you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the shore. During sunrise or sunset, the scenery becomes really beautiful and worth watching. However, the cleanliness could be improved — sometimes you’ll find plastic bottles or wrappers around, which takes away from the natural charm. The facilities like restrooms or seating areas are also limited, so it’s better to come prepared. Food stalls are available nearby, but the prices can be a bit high for the quality. Overall, it’s an average beach — good for a short visit, clicking some photos, or spending quiet time with friends and family, but not something very special or well-maintained
