Chelvara Waterfall is absolutely stunning! 🌊✨ The view is amazing, surrounded by lush greenery that makes it a perfect spot for nature lovers. The sound of the water and the peaceful atmosphere make it a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Coorg. Must-visit if you’re in the area! 🌿

This waterfall can be considered more of an optional stop during your Coorg trip, as you can’t actually reach the bottom for a close-up view. The location is a bit far and there aren’t many other attractions nearby, but if you have extra time, it’s still worth a visit. You’ll need to climb a little to reach the side viewpoint, but the scenery from there makes the effort worthwhile and offers a refreshing experience amidst nature.

The drive to the falls is quite good, through the hills and coffee plantation. The falls is visible from the road itself. There's a short hike (200m) from the road, through a small part. Beware of leeches though. The road goes towards a peak and viewpoint from here. That was totally worth it btw.

Chelavara waterfalls is a nice waterfall in Coorg near Kabbe Betta. There is a small parking space (for 2-3 cars) here. Waterfall can be accessed by a small 5 minute hike. Bicolored frogs can be spotted here. Area can be bit dirty especially during rainy season, recommend good shoes while visiting the falls. Not recommended to enter the waterfalls even though it doesn't look dangerous, it seems many have lost lives here.

Its a temple. Anyone can visit but there is a dress code to follow. Which I suggest you do if you want to visit the temple area of the compound. Anyone can roam around the pond area. Its a quiet place with occasional temple bell.

It's a beautiful temple in the middle of the city. The god here is Lord Shiva. There is a beautiful pond inside temple premises. The Omkareshwara Temple displays a unique style of architecture. The temple has a design that is quite similar to the ones seen in Muslim dargah. The structure of the temple comprises of a large central dome with four minarets standing at the four corners.

Raja’s Seat is one of the most popular viewpoints in Coorg, and after visiting it for sunset, I completely understand why. The name literally means “Seat of the King,” and it’s said that the kings of Kodagu once came here to watch the sunrise and sunset. Today, it’s still one of the best spots to take in the breathtaking landscape of Coorg’s rolling hills and misty valleys. I went during the evening hours, just in time for sunset, and the view was absolutely mesmerizing. As the sun slowly dipped behind the Western Ghats, the sky turned shades of orange, pink, and purple, casting a magical glow over the entire valley. It was a peaceful yet lively moment — peaceful because of the beauty around, and lively because of the energy of the crowd, everyone trying to capture that perfect shot. There’s a small entry fee of ₹20, and the place is well-maintained with gardens, benches, and a small musical fountain area. The viewpoint can get very crowded during sunset, so it’s best to arrive at least 30–40 minutes early if you want a good spot to sit and enjoy. Parking is available nearby, and there are several stalls outside selling snacks, tea, and coffee — perfect for enjoying the view with something warm in hand. Overall, Raja’s Seat is a must-visit location in Coorg, especially for photographers and nature lovers. The sunset view here truly feels like the perfect ending to a day in this hill town — serene, colorful, and unforgettable. I absolutely loved this place! It’s a beautiful spot with great views and totally worth the ₹20 entry ride. The atmosphere is peaceful and refreshing a perfect getaway to enjoy nature. There are mini food stalls at the entrance selling corn, ice cream, and other snacks, which adds to the fun. They even have ziplines, making it an exciting place for both kids and adults! The area has plenty of seating, so you can relax and take in the surroundings. I really liked the animal statues and the light and water show in the evenings it’s a wonderful visual treat! Unfortunately, it started raining during my visit, so we couldn’t stay long. I would suggest adding a shade or shelter near the light show area so visitors can still enjoy it during bad weather. There’s also a park for kids, where they can play and have a great time. Overall, it’s a must-visit place for families, couples, and nature lovers looking for a relaxing and fun outing.

Raja’s Seat Garden in Coorg is not just a tourist spot but a place to slow down and connect with nature. A short time here will leave you refreshed and remind you why Coorg is called the “Scotland of India.” Zip line activity available, it cost 300 INR per person. Children play area available for below 5 years separate. Above 5 years (depends on weight) trampoline, sky walk, tire tower and other activity available at cost of 150 INR for one child. No need of any advance booking. Best time to visit around sunset.

We enjoyed the kids activity here. There are activities for kids from 5 years and it charges only Rs. 150/- for 5 year kids activity which includes total 4 activities this I found very cheap. For kids this place is best. The view was nice. The garden was under maintenance.

There are frequent buses from kannur to Taliparamba. From Taliparamba bus stand, autos charge around Rs 50 to this temple. Entry inside this temple is only for Hindus. We reached this temple around 5:30 pm on a Saturday and it was not crowded. Women are allowed inside near sanctom santorum only after Athaya puja which happens around 7:15 pm. Men have to be bare chested and wearing a dhoti to enter near the sanctom santorum. The temple serves meals for lunch and the place which serves lunch is inside the temple premises itself. Did not saw restaurants near this temple. Auto stand is located just on the road itself leading to this temple. Saw three autos in auto stand near this temple at 6:45 pm. A very old Temple Dedicated to Lord Shiva. Very beautiful ambience. Neat and clean. Feels like sitting inside for more time. Only Men are allowed in the day. Ladies allowed inside the Temple in the evening after 0700 p.m. The can have the darshan from outside. Weekends and festival days are generally crowded. It i a must see Temple for it's beauty. There is a huge tree, should be more then 100 years.

The beautiful scenery and the charming, albeit small, waterfall make this a lovely spot. While the grills prevent close access, the main issue is the significant overcrowding. We suggest implementing improved organizational and management strategies to enhance the visitor experience.

Beautiful place, you feel very near to nature. Thanks and kudos to the authorities who are working tirelessly to keep the area clean of litter. Visitors are requested to use dustbins since the are is secluded and far from civilization.

We reached here during afternoon time so the temple was closed. Timings: 6:30am-1:30pm to 3:00 pm-8:30 pm We visited a beautiful clean lake just situated opposite of the temple. (Swimming is not allowed) There is a beautiful newly built garden and linga and gods statues.

The abode of both Vishnu, and Shiva in a single temple is indeed a very rare didn't to behold. A serene temple to go to. It sits across the Triveni sangama, the merger place of three rivers. With Talakaveri in its background, the temple is the epitome of peace. It really personifies the calmness that one seeks when visiting a temple.

We visited on saturday, very less crowd. Temple cleaning was taking place when we reached. The temple priest was very interactive and explained about the temple and it's architecture.

This temple is primarily dedicated to Lord Bhagandeshwara, a form of Lord Shiva. However, idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Narayana and Lord Subramanya have also been kept and worshipped in this temple. Although there is no information on the exact date and time on the construction of the Sri Bhagandeshwara temple and other temples around this area, it is considered to be more than 1000 years old. It is said that this temple was built during the Cholas dynasty. It presents a Karavali (west coast) architectural style, with a gabled roof. As per the few historical records which are available, this temple has undergone renovation in 1790 AD, during the reign of Maharaja Veera Rajendra Wodeyar who was the then King of Kodagu. Talakaveri Temple, located about 48 km from Madikeri in the Brahmagiri Hills, is one of the most sacred places in Coorg. This is the sacred birthplace of River Cauver. This place has a panoramic view. The drive from Baghmandala to Thala Kaveri is panaromic. River Kaveri is wife of Agyasthiyar Rishi also known by name Lopamudhra. There is no cost/ ticket to dip in holy Cauvery starting point Kund. One can offer some dakshina to the preist there who will happily do basic pooja. Beside the Kund, there are dress changing room separate for men and women. Also to mention free slipper stand and toilet are available as one enters the shrine Gate. First time when I went to Cauvery Kund, there were lot of tourist from north taking holy dip. But, the second time I went in September, during rainy season. Very few tourists came. the Kund had freezing water and the dip in Cauvery, is etched to my memory for life long. After taking holy dip and changing dress; perform pooja to Kaveri with preist. Then go up 20 steps, to visit 3 temple built. The Shiva linga is the one worshipped by Saint Agastya rishi.

The falls is really beautiful, especially during the monsoons. To see the falls from really close you've to get down abt 615 steps... My advice is not to go near the falls as the view from up close is not that great with all the fencing that's been put to safeguard the tourists. You can get an awesome view from slightly higher up rather than from the base.

The gushing waterfall during monsoon is serene and the beauty of the waterfall is beyond words. It's 15 mins of walk from the hill top to the view point. The climb down to the view point and hard climb up after the view is really worth it.

The waterfall is great and can be covered as a part of a one day trip in Sakleshpur itinerary. There is enough parking but mind you, internet for Jio/Airtel is simply non existent.Do carry cash with you. If you are somewhat healthy you can climb down the stairs and get a magnificent view from close quarters. Elderly people can take around 50 stairs to go down and still see the view from a distance. Overall a good waterfall during rainy season and the drive towards the falls is via ghat roads and easy drive.

Facilities are minimal, with parking and small stalls selling tea, water, and snacks, while accommodation and restaurants are available in Somwarpet or Madikeri. Carry sturdy shoes, drinking water, and a raincoat. Cameras are safe if kept in a waterproof pouch, as the mist near the base is strong. Avoid plastics, slippery footwear, and heavy baggage to enjoy the raw beauty of Mallali Falls.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya, worshipped here in connection with serpents (Naga devatas). The darshan was smooth and well-organized. Despite the number of visitors, the queue moved steadily, and the priests conducted the rituals sincerely. I was able to feel a strong spiritual presence inside the sanctum. I also appreciated the temple's cleanliness and orderliness, especially considering how many people visit daily. The architecture is traditional and adds to the sacred feel. The weather during my visit was rainy,. I recommend carrying an umbrella or raincoat if you're visiting during the monsoon season, as showers are quite common. My visit to Kukke Subramanya Temple was memorable and spiritually uplifting. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking divine blessings, especially those with a connection to serpent-related doshas or those simply looking for peace amidst nature and devotion. Note: If your planning on serpent dosha puja you have to book the puja in their website before visit it is a two daya puja

It was nice visit to this spiritual place. Went along with my friends. This place has very different vibe all together. Mighty Kumar Parvat is being visible. Went on Saturday evening had our prasad which took around 1 hour including wait & taking of prasad. Faced issues while getting guest house of Temple trust (book in advance) availability on weekends or festive season will be a issue. Took hotel outside. Darshan: went at temple at around 0600hrs and waited in a que till 0700hrs. Darshan started at 0700hrs & by 0740hrs we were out. Cons: Temple committe should work ok Maintaining the cleanliness of prasad house Overall experience was nice.

You can also have darshan of Vasuki, the serpent god, and other shrines like Adi Subramanya, Ganapati, and Uma Maheshwara within the temple premises. - The darshan queue is well-managed, on weekdays it takes about 30–60 minutes, while on weekends and special days it may take longer. - There are options for free darshan as well as special darshan tickets (₹50–₹200) for quicker Darsan. - The Anna Prasada (free meal) served by the temple is simple, delicious, and very well organized. - Timings: Generally, darshan is available from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM and again from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM. - Ample parking space is available near the temple at a reasonable charge. - Numerous shops selling pooja items, prasadam, and local snacks are available right outside. - Several lodges and restaurants nearby offer decent accommodation and food options. Had a wonderful sunset cruise experience. Ravi, Captain Krishnan, and the staff welcomed us with a smile and we know we are in for an amazing boat ride. Great hospitality and made sure we had a relaxing trip. The route covered many islands and a view of the Arabian Sea. The views were spectacular and we saw a beautiful sunset amid the clouds. Don't miss the tea and fritters. Highly recommend this cruise if you are in Bekal.

We had a great time on this houseboat ride. We did a day ride as a couple and they arranged it for us on short notice. The team is informative and the captain was also kind enough to let us sit at the wheel for a short while! They also had good snacks on board and they made a good tea.

What a beautiful and serene experience it was to spend a day and night on the houseboat! I must especially mention the wonderful hospitality of the crew — Mr. Krishnan, Hari, and Narayanan Chetta— who made our stay so comfortable with their warmth and exceptional food. The Karimeen was the highlight of it all! Truly memorable, and I’ll definitely be coming back again with the whole family.

Our houseboat cruise in Kerala was an unforgettable experience, made even more special by the wonderful crew—Ravi, Krishna (our skilled captain), and Narayanan (the amazing chef). From the moment we stepped on board, Ravi made us feel completely at home, ensuring we had everything we needed. Krishna expertly navigated the serene backwaters, giving us breathtaking views of lush greenery, swaying coconut trees, and charming village life along the way. It was incredibly peaceful, and we could have stayed on the boat forever! And then there was the food—Narayanan prepared the most delicious traditional Kerala meal we’ve ever had. The spread included perfectly cooked rice, flavorful sambar, fresh vegetables, and the highlight: mouthwatering Karimeen (pearl spot fish) that was cooked to perfection. Every bite was a treat, and it was clear that the food was made with love. This cruise was the perfect mix of relaxation, scenic beauty, and incredible hospitality. Huge thanks to Ravi, Krishna, and Narayanan for making it such a memorable experience. If you’re visiting Kerala, this is an absolute must-do! Bekal Fort is a must-visit gem in Kasargod! The old colonial-style fort is beautifully constructed, and walking through its massive walls gives a glimpse of history and architecture that has stood strong for centuries. The fort itself is well maintained and offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. Right next to it is Bekal Beach, which is clean, lively, and very happening. There are plenty of small stores and eateries around, making it a perfect spot to relax after exploring the fort. The sunset view from both the fort and the beach is simply spectacular. A perfect blend of history and natural beauty — highly recommended for anyone visiting North Kerala!

Bekal Fort is one of Kerala’s most impressive and beautifully maintained historical landmarks by ASI. 👍 Got famous after a Movie song in film (Bombay) 🎥 The entry / parking can be better managed, had to wait on the road for 20-25 minutes inching from main road to parking lot. Parking charge is Rs.40 Entry Tickets to be bought at the counter opposite to the main entry to port (Rs.25) Spread over 40 acres, it’s the largest fort in Kerala, built in the 17th century by Shivappa Nayaka of the Keladi Nayaka dynasty. Later, it came under the control of Tipu Sultan and the British — each era leaving its mark on the fort’s architecture and story. Prepare for long walks and inclined climbs in watch towers. Scenic views of the sea and nearby beaches and town views, worth it. There are stone benches to sit / relax. Could see drinking water taps at few places. There are couple of small shops selling ice cream, juices and water, packed chips, etc. Best part is on the west side sea viewing point (going down stairs) and watching sunset. There are places to sit and also go up to the final watch tower where the waves hit against. Around 5:45-6 the guards keep whistling to get the people out 😀 There are small sandy beach areas besides the port but access is restricted, though could see few people. Sea is rough so not recommended to venture. Overall a great place to spend few hours and take pictures 👍

Incredible fort. The entry fee is Rs. 25. This fort offers breathtaking scenic views. We arrived early in the morning, and the central area was peaceful. Upon reaching the viewpoint overlooking the beach, the sight was stunning, and the gentle sea breeze was calm and soothing. Overall, it is a lovely place to relax and enjoy.

Visited Bekal Fort recently — it’s a beautiful historic place with a stunning sea view. The atmosphere is peaceful and perfect for an evening visit. The fort area is well maintained, though it can get quite hot during the day, so sunset time is best. Nearby, there’s an ANERT EV charging station, which was very convenient for charging my electric car. Food options are limited (mostly ice cream and water), but overall it’s a must-visit place in Kasaragod! 🌊🏰⚡

Things to consider, bekal Fort and park is filled with couples. You might feel embarrassed if you go alone or with your children. Female – Saree or Panjabi dress. Children – No western wear. - After Darsan, you can visit the Anna Prasada Hall and have temple food here. - Overall Darsan may take anytime between 30 mins to 2 hours, depending on the day and time you visit the temple. - If you have the time, visit the Netravati river and perform river bath before having the Lord Manjunatheswara Darsan. The lot of parking space is available near temple if you come in your own vehicle. Outside the temple you can find lot of shops and hotels if you need to shopping at roadside and have food. The atmosphere around the temple is very positive, and the architecture adds to the spiritual feel of the place. The free Anna Prasada (meals) is served with a lot of care, and the food is simple, tasty, and satisfying. Parking and facilities are well arranged, and the entire area feels safe and visitor-friendly. Overall, a must-visit temple for anyone traveling around the region. Note :- Avoid weekends

- This devine place is believed to be well known since ages and powerfull too - This temple has a historical story behind it. - Temple darshana timings are as follows: - 6.30 am to 2pm - 5pm to 8.30pm - Annaprasadam timings are as follows: 11am to 3.30pm and 7pm to 10pm - Temple will be usually crowded with devotees, now the temple Authorities have made a good arrangements for the devotees to be seated, so as we move forward in line, we will reach a place where all the people are made to be seated in a room and batch wise they will let them in. - The waiting room is so good, its air contioned room, have a seating arrangements for everyone, there is sepeartwe washroom for ladies and gents. There is drinking water facilities too and stores which sell eatables. Room is also equipped with TV. - Darshanna was quite good compared to before days. - Parking facilities are available - The Annaprasadam dinning hall also is so good and systematically arranged, one should not miss it.

Difficult to find rooms but the cost is affordable to all. Long wait for darshan. Recently they made resting areas during the queue like tirupati. Clean floors. Better to visit in the early morning to avoid rush. We entered at 6.30 am and came out at 7.30 am.

A tranquil temple slightly away from Kasargod town. As we step into the temple premises there is an instant calm that settles in you. A beautiful experience. Do not miss the sannidhis near the dining hall. I have heard that the annadaanam here is very good.

A must visit temple. It's near Kumbala in Kasaragod dist. About six km from Kumbala railway station. You will get Autos from station for about Rs. 130-140. The temple closes after "Ucha pooja" at 12:30pm and after that there is Anna prasadam, very delicious veg lunch. There is guest house also. Those who want to stay can book by calling to the temple office.

This is a unique Hindu temple in Ananthapura, only temple built in the middle of a lake in Kerala. 👍 The main sanctum is surrounded by a rectangular lake, access to the sanctum is via a footbridge on the eastern side. The temple welcomes all visitors regardless of faith who are respectful and mindful of the sacredness of the place. Dress code - Men need to remove the shirts / T-shirts before entering sanctum area (you can remove and keep them with you). Women are expected to wear Saree, salwar Kamez, or long skirts. Avoid sleeves tops, short dresses or tight western wear. Puja tokens are issued near the entrance counter The lake seems to have a Vegetarian Crocodile 😀 we couldn’t see though. Footwear must be left outside the temple like any other temple. (No shoe racks) Photography inside sanctum not allowed. There’s enough parking space for two and four wheelers outside. Few shops in parking area to buy any puja items.

This temple holds immense spiritual importance as it is believed to be the Moolasthanam (original seat or source) of the much larger and famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The legend centers around the great sage, Divakara Muni Vilwamangalam, who was performing penance here. Lord Vishnu appeared before him as a mischievous child, whom the sage, annoyed by the pranks, chastised and pushed away. The child vanished into a cave, proclaiming that the sage would find him again at 'Ananthankadu' (the forest of the serpent Anantha). This cave is still visible near the lake, and the sage's subsequent journey led him to Thiruvananthapuram, where the massive Padmanabhaswamy Temple was eventually established. The Deity and Spiritual Core The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his non-reclining form, Ananthapadmanabha, The main sanctum is built on a rock structure in the center of a large rectangular lake (known locally as the kottaram). The architecture follows the classic Kerala style, blending seamlessly with the serene natural environment. The Lake and Its Divine Guardian The most famous and unique feature of the temple is the natural lake and its resident 'divine' crocodile, Babiya. Legend holds that Babiya is the guardian of the temple and is a strict vegetarian. While we visited the temple, the famous crocodile, sadly, remained elusive. We could not find the crocodile on this visit, but the large pond did host several fishes, which were cool to watch as they darted through the water. The Ambience: A Cool Midday Retreat We visited the temple around 12:00 PM in the afternoon, which might typically be the hottest time of the day. Surprisingly, the atmosphere was exceptionally calm and refreshing. The traditional architecture, the lush surroundings, and the cooling effect of the water all contributed to a wonderful, cool vibe. It was a serene and welcoming experience, making the midday journey completely worthwhile. Accessibility and Tips The temple is located approximately 14-16 km from Kasaragod town. It is easily reachable by road. Timing: Check timings before visiting, as like many temples, it closes for Ucha Pooja (midday worship). Visiting around 12:00 PM might mean you arrive just before the closing.

Her Ashirvada is the only thing everyone would love to have and she gives it hands full if you seek her blessings from your heart. There are accommodation facilities available. You can have a hot water bath for 30rs only. Washrooms are neat and clean. To prebook the rooms you should contact the office. Waiting time for darshana is around 5 to 10 mins and the greatness of the goddess is she allows all to get her view from as near as possible. Mangalarathi takes place around 1.30 pm in the afternoon and that might be the best time according to me to have darshana in the day time. If you are staying in there then the night darshana and mangalarathi would be great as the Alankara to the goddess looks amazing and divine. From this place sringeri is 3 hours away and you can plan one day trip to both Sringeri and Horanadu. Many types of Seva are available and the Akki Seve is the one which is very famous.

The darshan of Goddess Annapoorneshwari feels genuinely divine. The way the deity is adorned and the energy in the sanctum make the whole experience very calming. The temple administration is well-organized, and the place is maintained with real care. The highlight, of course, is the anna prasadam. It’s simple, pure and served with so much warmth that it truly lives up to the spirit of the temple. Sitting down for that meal feels like a blessing in itself. The surroundings are beautiful too, especially if you visit early in the morning or around sunset. The entire area has a quiet spiritual charm that makes you want to stay back for a while. If you’re anywhere near Chikkamagaluru, this temple is a must-visit. You leave with a full heart and a feeling of gratitude.

Very beautiful and one of the most popular Lord Shiva temples in manglore.🙏🏻 The place is really calm, quiet and peaceful . Morning times are the best to visit the temple to experience the calmness. Right from entering the gate of temple we feel as though we have stepped into a place surrounded by nature 🌿 and enchanted calmness. Here Lord Ganesha , Goddess Parvati , Lord Ayyappa and few other deities are also worshipped. This temple has lots of levels At the ground floor you can see the main deities which I mentioned above. When you climb stairs to firt floor you will reach a place with a big rectangle water tank divided into amall square shaped tanks. There are folklore legends that these water tanks hold medicinal values and taking a dip in these water tanks cure many diseases. The water in these tanks is filled by the great Kaashi Bhagirathi River. It flows out through an opening under Lord Ganesha temple. People can drink that theertham from there as well fill bottle to carry the theertham home. This same theertham can be filled in small brass vessels near to a stairs and we can do jal archana by our own hands to Lord Shiva which have to again climb few stairs to reach the Shiva lingam.🙏🏻 There is a big statue of Lord Hanuman if you climb little more further. The view from here is mesmerizing. There are a lot of steps to go up and down. So if you are planning to visit only the main deities then it's at the ground floor which you can reach by climbing only a few steps. But rest all the other areas have a lot of climbing to do. Local belief holds that its waters originate from the Bhageerathi River in Kashi, earning it the revered name Kashi Bhageerathi Theertha. From Gomukha, the water flows into nine adjacent ponds of varying sizes, each adding to the temple’s serene and mystical ambiance.

Hence, this historic temple is one of the must-visit temples in Kadri, Mangalore, for devotees of Lord Shiva. As per Kadri Manjunath temple history, the temple is really old as it was built in the 10th or 11th century and was transformed into a stone structure in the 14th century. Hindu and Buddhist histories intertwine with the temple. People practised Buddhism until the 10th century CE. The Nath cult was a mix of Hindu and Buddhist traditions and saw a decline, after which the Buddhist temples were converted into Hindu places of worship. This is a must visit temple if you are in the vicinity of Mangalore. It dates all the way back to the 10th-11th centuries. There is a fresh water spring the source of which is supposedly the Bhagirathi river in Kashi, hence considered very holy. There are also caves that date back to 4-6th century AD. They are purported to be visited by the Pandavas.

Visiting the Temple in the morning is such a calming experience. The cool breeze, the faint sound of temple bells, and the early sunlight just sets a peaceful tone for the day. The place feels really pure and quiet at that hour, away from the usual crowd. The architecture beautifully blends old-world charm with spiritual energy. There are also smaller shrines around, and the natural springs near the temple are believed to have holy water. The surroundings, the small pond, and the greenery around the hill just add to the charm. One of the best parts is pouring water over the Shivling. There’s something very soothing about it.

One of best temples of Mangaluru. A must visit and enjoy the yummy anna prasadam during the lunch. I was amazed to see many school and college kids in their uniform at the lunch to enjoy the free and tasty food they provide everyday to the devotees. Please note wear some kind of socks during summer as it will be gruesomely difficult to walk on the stone floor in hot weather.

You can feel the might of the great sea here. Amazing. Mind blowing. The beach is enclosed in both sides sadly, and even in the front due to it being monsoon so not much to do but sit and stare. If you are lucky you can even spot a few peacocks. Note: They charge you Rs. 100 per 1.5 hours for the umbrella chairs, the non-umbrella benches are free.

It was such a delight to visit this beach. The water access was closed as we were visiting at the heels of the monsoon but the sand was clean and the sunset was beautiful. The blue flag beach project infra created under the smart City - was one of its kind that I have seen in India and the civic amenities offered were really good. They recently launched and it would make this beach the 13th blue certified beach in India. The atmosphere was quite lively while maintaining the serenity of the place

Tannirbhavi Beach in Mangalore is a hidden gem for anyone looking for peace away from the hustle of the city. The shoreline is wide, clean, and far less commercialized than most popular beaches, making it perfect for long walks, sunsets, or simply sitting by the waves. The sea breeze here feels refreshing, and the golden hour views are absolutely worth the visit. What I loved most is the calm and uncrowded vibe—you can actually hear the sound of the waves without constant noise around. However, since there aren’t too many shops or eateries nearby, it’s better to carry your own snacks and water. Also, swimming can be tricky because of the strong currents. Overall, Tannirbhavi Beach is a beautiful spot to unwind, capture stunning pictures, and experience coastal Karnataka in its raw, natural form. 🌊✨

Lived up to the expectations of a Blue Flag award. To get here, you take a short ferry ride from near Sultan Bathery across the Gurpur river, followed by a quick 400-meter walk. The month I was here (July), the tides were high and barriers along the shore kept us from entering the waters. Such a beautiful spot to spend time at. There are mini cafes at the entrance where you can grab a quick bite during your visit. Sorry I don’t have the best pictures!

Tannirbhavi Beach is a designated 'blue flag' beach, which means it undergoes annual tests to ensure it conforms to international standards of cleanliness, sustainability, etc. The entire beachfront is approached through a ticketed zone, and further fees are levied if you want to sit on the chairs overlooking the waves. Fees vary, but basic entrance fees are Rs 20 per adult, with children paying Rs 10. This entitles you to enter the beach, though of course you pay whatever else is necessary if you buy food and drink from vendors, for example. The beach is pleasant, lined down one side by groves of Casuarina and sea almond (lots of birds to be seen here, including pea fowl, coucal, brahminy kites, etc) as well as sea cabbage and beach morning glory. Toilets, changing rooms, showers etc are available and at permitted times swimming is allowed (when we visited, not only was swimming forbidden, the sea was off-limits completely, with barriers put up all along). To get to Tannirbhavi Beach, you have to take a ferry (Rs 15 per adult, Rs 10 per child) from just next to Sultan Battery. The ferry ride is a very short one, barely five minutes, because it just crosses the Gurpur River. Once you get off at the opposite bank, it's a leisurely five-minute walk to the beach.

It felt like a private beach. The place is clean, well-maintained, and full of natural beauty. The sand is soft, and there are so many beautiful sea shells—kids will love collecting them. The colours of the sky during sunset were just magical. The photos and videos we took don’t even do justice to how stunning it looked in person. Historically, Thanneer Bhavi has been known as a peaceful riverside spot, and over time, it became a calm coastal beach visited mostly by locals. Unlike the more popular beaches, this one is quiet and serene—perfect for those who want to enjoy nature without the crowd. If you’re visiting Mangalore and want to experience the raw beauty of the sea, Thanneer Bhavi Beach is a must-visit. You’ll come back feeling refreshed and connected to nature.

It's a Haven of Butterflies Visited Beluvai Butterfly Meet 2024 (Batch 8): This place is a paradise for nature lovers. We spotted 90 butterfly species in 3 days. The garden's night walk was thrilling, revealing many nocturnal creatures. We savored delicious Mangalorean meals throughout our stay. Excursions to nearby forests allowed us to observe butterflies in their natural habitats. Kudos to Sammilan's team for their excellent organization. Aimed at spreading awareness about butterflies, this Butterfly Park is a must visit. The owner is extremely patient and explains both via a presentation and in-person the lifecycle of a butterfly, the speciality of each type of butterfly. The park showcases a diverse variety of butterflies and plants. It's educational and highly interesting.

I have been visiting this place since 2021, it's been getting more and more awesome, a 3 day session is must visit to see more butterfly activities be it in summer or monsoon, if you go for one day visit you may not be able to see much activity and a butterfly life documentary will be screened at the park. Do try to attend both monsoon and summer meets to see more number of butterflies, also the park is not just for butterflies, you will also find other creatures as well, if you are a macro photographer then you will get one or the other to photograph like moths, snakes, frogs scorpions, spiders and nany more.

Panambur Beach — a really nice beach, though it gets quite crowded in the evenings. The best time to visit is early in the morning to truly enjoy the vibe. When we went, it started raining, and the dramatic visuals of nature were both stunning and a bit scary to witness.

Located some 12 km from the city centre, situated quite inside from the main road, this beach doesn’t come close to the fame it has. It’s a dirty, badly maintained and just one-time visit type of beach. Quite spacious and good scope to develop it as a model- sea beach, Government apathy and lackadaisical attitude towards any tourism places not just beaches have made such a wonderful location in a just one cheap and third grade beach. I don’t recommend. But yes, it does have some extra activities to for enjoyment.

The waterfalls are quite calm and relaxing, with a good water flow that makes it a perfect place to unwind amidst nature. The surroundings are clean and well-maintained. The entry charge is ₹50 per head, which is reasonable for the experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Sirimane Waterfall is a beautiful, peaceful spot just about 10 km from Sringeri, near Kigga village. The drive through the lush greenery is scenic and refreshing. Once you reach, there’s a short walk with steps leading to the falls – very manageable and well maintained. The waterfall itself is not too big, but it's wide and flows gently, making it safe even for kids to enjoy. The sound of water and the surrounding forest give a calm, soothing vibe. It's perfect for a quick dip or just to sit and relax by the rocks. There’s a small entry fees, and changing rooms are available, which is a big plus. It’s clean and not too crowded, especially if you go in the morning. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Sringeri or planning a trip to the Sharadamba Temple. A peaceful nature break.

This is one of the populor waterfalls around sringeri. This watwrfall is located near Kigga and can ve easily accessible through road. There is handly 5 mins trecking needed to reach there. While other watwrfalls around thw area(maintained by govt) is closed during rainy seasons, this wayer falls will be open in most of the seasons. There is a washroom and cha ge room fscility available for tourists. The charges of 50 INR per person. There is ample amount of parking available for tourists. As the water falls from mederate height, this is not a dangerous one for tourists to get into water and spend a quality moment with nature. There are multiple watch tower for the tourists and they also have small shops which can provide snacks.

We need to pay 50 rupees of entry fees, No need to walk or not too many steps to get into the falls, But no compromise in Falls view. One of the most beautiful falls that I have ever visited. If water flow is less you can play in water and there are changing rooms for men women.

A Beautiful Spot Marred by Negligence. We visited Sirimane Falls in March 2023, and while the water flow was noticeably reduced due to the approaching summer, it was still a pleasant experience. Despite the crowd, we managed to stand beneath the falls and enjoy the soothing cascade for a good amount of time. The surrounding area, including the stream, was alive with butterflies, adding to the charm of the place. The facilities are decent, with separate changing rooms available for men and women. The entry fee is nominal, making it an affordable outing. However, the behavior of some visitors was disappointing—people were using shampoo and soap under the falls and littering the area with plastics. This lack of civic sense detracts from the natural beauty and highlights the need for better awareness about protecting such pristine spots. Sirimane Falls is a lovely destination, but it’s our collective responsibility to preserve its beauty. If you're visiting, please ensure you leave the place cleaner than you found it.

Well this is a historic place. Uphill in the heart of the infamous city Karkala. Travel there by local bus and walk up 200steps to see the beautifully carved statue of Gommateshwara. This is built with a single stone and stands for so many centuries. Earlier in my childhood i remember seeing the statue while passing through Karkala or a nearby bus but now it's not visible. Probably because of the wall built around the statue to surround it as a Jain temple. The walk is not that tedious. It's easy walking up. Carry your water bottles. The view is amazing from the top. Be ready to get your good lens out for some awesome shots/reels. There are eateries at the foot of the mountain. Reasonably priced. The time up depends on how long you want to be up, but post the temple/ statue visit you can just run down. Total time up can be within 30-45mins.

This place is located at karkala , around 40-45 km away from Udup.Built in 1432 CE, this 583 year old monolith in Karkala is the second largest monolith of Gommateshwara at 42 ft height. Karkala was known as Pandya Nagari in the ancient times, later known as Karikallu (Black stone), and now as Karkala. There were 181 rock cut steps to reach this huge statue on a small hill top. Best time is early morning because its really gets hot thereafter. There is no entry fee to enter this area. . Very good place to see the ancient art of rock cutting. There is enough parking space for free and lot of refreshment shops nearby.

Nice beach with the lighthouse on top of a little hill. Access to water is closed off with nets during high tide, which is a good idea as people usually ignore warnings. There are benches to sit. Also several fast food stalls offering variety of snacks etc.

A very beautiful beach with the sea on one side and a river on the other — truly scenic and peaceful! The only downside is that the lighthouse is open only from 4–6 PM, with no morning visiting hours. So, if you’re staying in Malpe or Udupi, planning an evening visit can be a bit tricky since the road leading to the beach is quite remote and lacks sufficient street lighting.

It's a nice place to visit at night as u can see the lightening chariot and the pond would be fully decorated with beautiful lights. But the dharsan pathway is too smelly n the restrooms were not cleaned properly. The food providing hall is also dirtyy.

Food is available 2times a day.. Nad absolutely free of cost.. In ekadashi kitchen is closed. Lunch available from 12 to 2 And Dinner from 8 Pm to 10. You can donate if you want. Menu if fixed Dal, Sambar and Rice. Sambar test so different from ever I eat anywhere. Cleanliness is absolutely fine in Dining hall.. Dishes are not so clena.. Take some tissu and Water botol with you. Don't waste food take all you can eat.

I have had food at many famous temples like Dharmatsala, Tirupathi, Kukke Subramanya, etc. but Udupi Temple have very poor food quality. In the rice serving atleast 15-20 rice bugs was there. We consider this as Prasadam and don’t want to complain. But definitely this quality requires improvement.
