One of the best waterfalls nearby Trivandrum. It’s clean and its way spreader, so more people can enjoy at the same time, lack of clean toilets is a disadvantage and also the ticket for packing is 50 for cars and entry is 20. Nice ambience and can be enjoyed with friends and families as well. Changing room are available nearby as well. Also some cloth shops at the entrance provide dress changing rooms, if we purchase something from them, that is also a good option too.

The waterfall isn’t too high, but the flow is strong enough to enjoy a nice shower under it. Great place to relax, click pictures, and just enjoy nature. There’s a small entry fee of 10 rupees and parking area nearby, plus a few local shops for snacks and tea. It can get crowded on weekends, so going early is a good idea. I will suggest you to visit around 8:30 AM to avoid crowd..Overall, a perfect short trip spot for families and friends This waterfall is just 50 km from Trivandrum International airport and railway station. However, it’s hard to ignore the missed potential. The tourism department appears to be underperforming, especially given the vast opportunities available to develop the area into a major attraction. Right now, it feels like a beautiful title waiting for the poem to be written. A sincere request to the government: show the commitment and vision needed to transform this naturally gifted location into a world-class destination for travelers from around the globe.

Neyyar wildlife sanctuary has boating service along with elephant visits, deer visits, crocodile visits. Ticket fare is 100rs per adult. It's a very good view through the boat. The park has 2 elephants of one male and one female, lot of deers and you can see monkeys too. There will be guide who guides you and also convey all the information regarding park and animals. In the area where crocodiles are placed, has a python too. Each crocodiles are kept in separate cage. When you move forward you can go to the neyyar dam. A watch tower, dam, children's park, aquarium, swimming pool are provided. As all those near by, it will be a good spot.

Nice place situated near to Neyyar dam. We visited after rainy season so that there was water in the reservoir. There is no lion safari now. It is closed and there are no lions now. Picturesque views. We could able to see parts of hills from agastyarkoodam, kurishumala etc. There were three packages available. We took package-1 which covers deer park,crocodile park,elephants (1 big and 1 young one) and boating for 1 hour at 2900/-. Guides were there inorder to provide the information all the time. Boating was so good with panoramic views. Only 2-3 crocodiles are there in the crocodile park. We have to walk through a small narrow forest path unordered to see the deer park which was nice. We heard from one of the employee that all the lions are dead so that they have to shut down the safari. Earlier at a point, there were 16 male lions and it was difficult to feed them. And there were no profit from the sanctuary also. So one doctor approved for the sterilization procedure which made them infertile. It was a sad story.

All the elephants are rescued animals. Visiting for the 2nd time and this time due to heavy rain during monsoon the pathway was blocked by fallen trees and electric lines hence could not view the elephant feeding and bathing and I was taken for a limited sighting of elephants. One of the divine and nearest temple in varkala. Also 2000years old. At the temple entrance, small pond is available. The water is refreshing, & even spotted a little turtle. The temple was neat, clean, and maintained with care. While it looked like many other traditional temples as well. It was quite hot during my visit, For Gents - The shirts and inner baniyan to be removed due to temple customs. The god looked unique from others. It was an pleasant moment but it stayed out for more than half an hour because of prasadham offering for the god.

Certainly one of the best beach, having a great cliff connecting through another beach and having all restaurants/cafés and shops over the cliff. Must recommend the morning walk through the cliff and have a great sight during sunrise. For party ppl Evening time is great fun.

It is a beautiful beach. It has got peace and calm ambience. Where you can sit peacefully, and you can listen, the sounds of the waves. moreover, you will be having less crowd and compatible with Cherai and Cochin Beach. The Varkala Beach does not allow people to bathe in the water. The beach is always crowded but it very closely to the stays. The beach is in walking distance of 3 to 5 KM only. It is the most unique Beaches in Southern part of India. The views from cliff is Stunning. It is well known for its lively atmosphere with many cafes and restaurants along the cliff, catering to visitors. After sunset, it's possible to witness bioluminescence, an aquamarine glow in the water, making for a magical experience. Swimming is not always not safe due to strong currents, so visitors are advised to be cautious and not allowed during season time. It's Good place to relax and unwind. But the food is costly and I don't highly recommend.

Varkala Beach is quite overrated and usually very crowded. Most of the time, access to the beach was restricted, so we could only watch the sunset. However, the sunset view itself is truly mesmerizing. The beach is easily accessible, with plenty of buses running on this route from the railway station. I bought a bunch of antique stuff on my last visit. There are honestly so many shops selling antiques, jewellery, clothes, and all kinds of random things. But here’s a tip: don’t jump at the first price they tell you. You can usually bargain and get things for a much better deal. Also, the same item might be in a bunch of different shops, so take a walk around before buying anything. There are so many—literally so many—cafés and restaurants up there. But don’t just go with the Instagram hype. Do a bit of research or explore on your own, because there are a lot of great spots apart from the usual “Instagram-approved” places. A coffee while taking in a glimpse of the beach, or sipping a cocktail with the sea view, is a must if you ask me. The views from the cliff are just stunning, especially during sunset when the sky goes crazy with colours. It does get crowded in the eve. People chilling, music playing from cafés, and the sea breeze it all feels perfect. If you’re in Varkala, the cliff is definitely a must-visit.

One of the oldest lighthouses in Kerala, it holds history from the time of the British East India Company. Both an elevator and stairs are available to reach the top. The view from the top is worth the journey and ticket amount of 20rs.😀

Worth a stop on the way up north to Alappuzha for only 20rpi. Worth noting there is a ticket office for the fun park , so make sure you go up the road to the actual light house entry gate. Founded in 1902 this is one of two lighthouses in the Kollam area. After to begin showing cracking in 1930, this lighthouse was strengthened by A.N Seal in 1940. This 120+ year old light house will provide stunning views over Kollam and the Indian Ocean

Amazing place with a breathtaking view. It’s the second tallest lighthouse in Kerala, and a lift facility is also available for visitors. The surrounding landscape is also very beautiful. It’s just a quick 10-minute walk from Tangy bus stop, or you can easily take an auto. A must-visit spot in Kollam

A Historic place in kollam. Well maintained renovated lighthouse. Evening view is mesmerizing. They are charging an entry fee of र20 for adults, र10 for children(3-12) and senior citizens and र50 for foreign citizens. There is an extra fee of र10 for taking photos.You have to keep the footwear outside before entering the lighthouse. Monday is a holiday. There is a children's park in the compound And a small refreshment shop there. Unofficial parking fee is too high that's collected by a lady whose home is near to the lighthouse.

What a beautiful light house it is, with a lift inside to make our effort of walk easy to reach the top. Beautiful view of the whole thamarassery area and kollam. 20rs is the admission fee for one person and 10 extra for using the camera. 10min is allowed maximum if there is rush to spend on the top. Otherwise 10-15 is maximum allowed. Try to take the stairs instead of lift, if you want to burn some calories😜

Awesome views from the top and yes there is an elevator so we has to climb only a few stairs ! The sunset view would be spectacular but it closes at 6 pm .However the walking path also gives a great view .

The view and the feel up top is nothing like you ever seen. Do visit the top they also has elevator installed. You still have to climb some stairs though.

Agasthiyar falls are on the way from Papanasam temple to the dam area. One has to walk 500 m to get to the falls from the parking area. Most of the people going there take a bath in the falls. A separate bathing area and dress changing facility is provided for women. Overall a nice picnic spot. It was good but they allow only up to 5 pm. Overall it was nice place to spend some time. Water was clean and there is a special Siva temple which should be visited... the water falls was not a very big one. separate bathing area for gents and ladies.ladies crowd also large and ladies area also small. for gents it quite large and crows also less. the area not so neat.weekends will be crowded.water flow was good when we went on august.the road from papanasam checkpost will be narrow and hilly.probablity of trafiic jam during weekend is very high. we had 2 hours of jam. beware of monkey. only two small hotels are there near the falls. during break fast they serve poori and idly and lunch only tomotto rice and curd rice. dont miss kalyana theertham the path way is not neat. but the view point is good and temple above is very divine.

One-of-a-kind place! Truly worth visiting. The Jatayu sculpture is massive and a real piece of art. However, a few improvements can make the experience much smoother: • Ticketing system needs restructuring — more ticket counters are required, and there should be a proper waiting area downstairs as well or online tickets. • AC in the waiting areas needs better cooling, especially considering the crowd and weather. • Cable car safety can be improved. It should fully stop for tourists to get in and out; stepping off while it’s moving feels unsafe. • Clear instructions should be displayed at the entrance so visitors know the rules beforehand, especially since food and water are not allowed inside. • Refreshment counters need better cooling, more options, and water dispensers. • Photos for purchase look overly edited or AI-generated; more natural edits or original prints, especially with the Jatayu structure in the background, would be much better. • Souvenirs missing — fridge magnets or Jatayu-themed items would be great additions. Overall, it’s a great experience with a lot of potential to become even better!

Visited Jatayu Earth Center recently — an incredible experience! The massive Jatayu sculpture is breathtaking and beautifully crafted. There’s also an adventure zone for ziplining, archery, and other fun activities if you want some thrill. Make sure to carry water, wear comfortable shoes, and reach early to avoid the afternoon heat. Jatayu Earth Center in Kerala is known for its massive sculpture of the mythical bird Jatayu, placed on a rocky hilltop. Visitors can reach the top either by cable car or by walking up the pathway. The hilltop area can get quite hot during sunny hours, so carrying an umbrella or cap is advisable. At the top, there is a small water area and a shop for basic refreshments. A temple is also located near the sculpture, adding a peaceful touch to the visit. The viewpoint offers good spots for photography, making it suitable for families, friends, and solo travelers. Overall, it is a place where visitors can comfortably spend time exploring the sculpture, views, and surroundings.

It is maintained by a non government organisation/ private organisation. Well maintained property. Beautiful scenic surroundings view. Plastic Water bottles and eatables are not allowed. Free water is available everywhere. Amount paid 555₹ per person including entry ticket and cable car ticket. Second option of 325₹ was available for who wish to climb 826 steps almost 1km elevation. Please note that full ticket is applicable for people with more than 90 cm height including children. They take your photo at start which is available at 260₹ per copy or 210₹ for multiple soft copies at 1st floor. 1st floor has some small food counters along with children play area. Jatayu sculpture is beautiful with in detailed carvings. Small Lord Rama temple is situated upstairs. Devotees can see the foot step of Lord Rama backside of this temple. Overall fantastic experience.

Worth visiting the place when you are in trivandrum, Varkala or Kollam. The opening time is as mentioned on the site, it's exactly at 10AM. The ticketing system could have been little hassle free. They have one ticketing window at the ground level, this makes the process way slow. And also I don't find a reason of having another ticketing window at upper level to decide cable car or walking track. Most of the time I feel the cable car may not operate because of heavy wind in the area, so keep in mind. However I felt it was blessing in disguise to get our cable car got cancelled because of harsh weather and we could take a nice walk among the nature, it's just a km of climb. The management has arranged all necessary facilities like drinking water and toilets in all levels. The ticketing from online is fraud, there is a strict warning at the entrance to avoid online ticketing. The management does not allow any big bag, plastic items including water bottle and sanitizer but at the 1st floor they sell all plastic items which is contradicting to their policy.

I had an amazing time visiting Jatayu Earth Centre. The entire experience felt so well crafted especially the background music inspired by Indian history. It was incredibly soothing to the ears and added a beautiful depth to the whole ambience. During my visit, the museum was closed, possibly due to ongoing construction work, so I couldn’t explore that part. But the view from the Jatayu rock more than made up for it absolutely stunning and worth the climb. Overall, it’s a place everyone should visit at least once in their life. Truly a memorable experience

I had the opportunity to visit Arulmigu Nellaiyappar Temple in Tirunelveli, and it was a wonderful experience. The temple is one of the finest examples of Dravidian architecture, with its beautifully sculpted pillars, intricate carvings, and a vast temple complex that reflects centuries of history and devotion. The atmosphere inside the temple is very serene and spiritual, making it a perfect place to spend time in prayer or simply to admire the cultural richness. The temple is also well-maintained, and the traditional rituals performed here add to the divine charm. Overall, this temple is not just a place of worship but also a must-visit cultural and architectural landmark in Tamil Nadu. A visit here leaves you feeling both peaceful and inspired.

Nellaiyappar temple Such a monumental temple with extraordinary architecture. It was simply blissful to be there. Temple is just in the heart of Tirunelveli. There are multiple temples inside the campus. It’s will definitely take more than 1 hour to complete all gods. If you are a spiritual and architect lovers. You shouldn’t miss to visit this temple.

Historically old architectural temple, popularly known for its manimandabam with musical pillars. Two big temple inside the single complex connected by chain mandabam. One for Nelliappar for lord siva and another for the goddess Gandhimathi. There are variety of other lingams such as mola lingam and gubera lingam and sachasra lingam etc. nellai govindar sannidhi is also present near to the lord siva sanctrum. Very big temple complex with big prahars.

A 2nd biggest siva temple in world,with very huge 3(3 for ambal + 3 for shiva)pragarams. Gomathy ambal is very gorgeous 😍 (gnanasakthi swaroopam). I have given 5 starts because every inch of the temple are very clean , Management is not shown that much interest in commercializing darshan( No 100rs,50 rs tickets for darshan) only 5 rs that too not required for all days . I really felt shivas heaven when I entered near garbhagraham of nellaiyappar .I suggest all to visit arround 5.30 Am to see the thiruvanathal sevai ,you will never forget the temple in life

I visited many times for various reasons but everytime I surprised how to bulit and idealogy they are really amazing to carving the sculpture and paintings that smell of the temple too divine it enter your soul really peace and divine feel

truly a beautiful spot to visit. The surroundings are calm with a cool breeze that refreshes the mind. There’s plenty of parking space, and the adult entry ticket is ₹70. It’s best to visit on normal days, as weekends and holidays can get very crowded. Private vehicles are not allowed near the falls since it’s a forest area, but the office provides shuttle buses (two are available) to take visitors from the parking area to the waterfall. The staff and security are very friendly and helpful—one security officer even helped us take pictures. There are small shops nearby for tea and snacks, and clean bathrooms are also available. Bathing at the waterfall is comparatively safe, and steps are provided to climb up for better views and photos. Payments are cashless, so only UPI or cards are accepted. Overall, it’s a well-maintained place and worth visiting. The best time to go is early in the morning. The falls open at 8 AM.

We recently visited Palaruvi Waterfalls, and it was an amazing experience! From the ticket counter, it’s about a 3 km ride to the falls, and visitors are taken there by the park’s bus service since private vehicles aren’t allowed. The waterfall offers a stunning view, and bathing in the cool, refreshing water was truly enjoyable. There are changing rooms available for women, which is very convenient. The area does have quite a few monkeys, so it’s best to keep an eye on your belongings and avoid taking food outside. The place wasn’t too crowded, making it perfect for a peaceful trip with family or friends.

A must-visit natural wonder! Palaruvi Waterfall is truly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala. Paal means milk and aruvi means waterfalls .A Refreshing experience worth the travel. This is located in Kerala and very well maintained(Unlike the several badly maintained falls in Tamilnadu). To protect our environment, Plastic Bottles and eatables are not allowed.The vehicle by which we travel has to be parked and all visitors need to travel 2 to 3 kms in the Forest department buses which is mandatory. The staff were very courteous as we waited in the queue and were making us comfortable. The view was stunning but involved climbing a path ! Can't bathe directly under the strong flow . A small area where we can take a dip in the cool, flowing waters was very refreshing !

Nice place to visit, Well maintained by the Kerala Forest Department. Friendly staff in guiding us too. Amble parking space. The transportation arranged is also good. The only drawback I saw here is the wait till me for transportation when we return back. People coming in groups keep on coming at different times and these people kept on entering in between the queues increasing the waiting times of the people already waiting there ,.especially the elder people and people with kids . I would humbly request deploying more staff on thr waiting area to avoid such situations, so as to ensure the smooth functioning of this tourist place.

The entry fee is ₹80 per adult, but honestly, the experience doesn’t feel worth the cost. Most of the time, the children’s park inside seems to be closed, so there’s not much for kids to do. There are a few elephants, including a baby, but sadly, they are kept chained — it would be much better if they were presented in a more ethical way. There’s also a small museum, a 3D show, and a shop selling forest products. The place is closed on Mondays, and car parking comes with an extra charge. Overall, the site feels a bit run-down and could really benefit from improvements to enhance both the visitor experience and the well-being of the animals.

I visited Konni Eco Tourism Centre recently. The place is naturally beautiful and has good potential for eco-tourism, but honestly, I felt it is not maintained as well as it should be. Some areas looked neglected, and with proper care the place could be much more attractive. Parking is available near the entrance (₹15 for two-wheelers, ₹40 for cars), which is convenient. However, the entry fee (₹80 for adults) feels a bit high compared to what is currently offered inside. For the amount they charge, visitors expect better facilities, cleaner surroundings, and more engaging activities. It is still a peaceful spot to spend some time in nature, but in my opinion, it doesn’t feel fully worth the ticket price. With better upkeep and a little more attention to detail, this centre could definitely become a top eco-tourism destination. NB: Only card or GPay is accepted at the ticket counter

Konni Elephant Training Centre, located in the lush vegetation of Pathanamthitta district, is a unique and enchanting destination that offers visitors an up-close experience with elephants. Known for its rich history and dedication to the welfare and training of elephants, Konni Elephant Training Centre is a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those interested in learning about the majestic elephants of Kerala. Historical and Cultural Significance Konni Elephant Training Centre has a long and storied history dating back to 1942. It was established as a center for training elephants captured from the wild, a practice that was once common in Kerala. Today, the center focuses on the care and rehabilitation of elephants, ensuring their well-being and promoting conservation efforts.

Just four elephants that are chained Ok ok place to the museum is good so is the store that sells wooden miniature elephanta and knock knacks. Was my second time but was not really impressed

A place which holds historical values in elephant nursing. But this place now looks unprotected without proper care. Many staffs but not maintaining properly. No baby elephant, they charge 80 per person which doesn’t make any value inside.

A lush green serene place full of tranquility where one can immerse in magic of nature. The boat ride in the lake and sighting of wild animals and birds roaming freely is icing on the top. From Periyar bus stand taken to jetty and carried out boat ride. One can purchase tickets at jetty itself if done earlier online. Excellent arrangements. One can opt for green walk also. Truly mesmerizing.

The Periyar National Park was very nice and calm & very nearby to my stay. The boat ride was amazing. Our guide on the boat explained everything really well. The environment is very well maintained and preseved by the locals. It is a tourist worthy place. It was a peaceful 1.5 hours on the waters.

My visit to Periyar National Park was an amazing experience. I went bamboo rafting, took a boat safari. Rafting program includes 7 km trek into the forest and the rafting. It's lasted about an hour for one way. Although animal sightings were few, the trek and overall natural beauty made it worthwhile. If you’re hoping for more wildlife, the best time to visit is between April and May the animals will more easily spotted.

We choosed Nature walk activity at 7:30 am. It was a beautiful journey inside the forest along the lake side with a guide. While walking we heard sounds of forest crickets, singing birds, and loud noises produced by apha male langurs jumping from trees to trees. We got lucky to catch a glimpse of rare black sloth bear and spotted many wild fauna in their habitat such as Sambar deer, nilgiri tahr, giant squirrel, nilgiri langurs, forest spiders, wood peckers, hornbill and king fishers. We also spotted pugmark of a tiger which was a thrilling experience as just to know that a tiger was there on the same path of ours just a few hrs back. We booked our tickets from tourist information centre located near bamboo grove and their ticket centre in Kumily. However, one can easily book tickets online. There are lots of activities they provide like bamboo rafting, trekking, different types of walk, safari, boating and many more. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the forest as the tourism here is restricted by the forest dept of the Kerala state govt. Cafes and canteen available ✔️ Restroom 🚻 available ✔️ Highly recommended to pre-book the tickets for any of your choice of activities. We really enjoyed this journey and found this an excellent option to get digital detox through this forest tranquility.

Absolutely beautiful. Huge lake spread across few hectairs, with dence forest trees leaning by its banks. Deers, Neel Gai, grazing the grasses. Very well maintained. Visited Periyar National Park and had an amazing experience exploring the deep forest and lush greenery. The park is beautifully maintained and offers a true taste of nature and wildlife. The best time to visit is from October to February, when the weather is pleasant, cool, and the forest looks vibrant and green. We were lucky to spot elephants, deer, and several bird species during our visit — a perfect place for nature and wildlife lovers. The peaceful atmosphere and scenic beauty of the forest make it a must-visit in Kerala. Highly recommend taking the early morning Nature walk and Green walk for the best experience!

We visited around 11:00 am. First buy a entry ticket at the parking area then wait for the forest bus to pick up and then the journey starts. Once you reach the forest you have to buy boating tickets for ride, if u don't want to ride then you can also visit surrounded areas of the lake by other ways like trekking or walking. We reached late and by the time there was no boat for the ride and the next ride was after one hour so it was not worth the ride. So we take pictures at the entry point of the lake and nearby surrounding areas.

This review focuses on the boat safari, which is located inside the National Park. The safari lasts for one and a half hours and provides an amazing opportunity to see wildlife along the lake's banks. Sightings of elephants, deer, and bison are common, making it a unique and thrilling experience. To access the boat safari, I took a bus from the city, where there is excellent paid parking available. This was very convenient for me, as I traveled from Bangalore in my own vehicle. The parking area is spacious and very safe. The ticket counter for the bus, which takes you to the starting point of the boat safari, is located at the end of the parking lot. The bus journey took about half an hour. There are various time slots available for the boat safari, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. I chose the 1:45 PM to 3:15 PM slot. All the staff involved in the management were very helpful and humble, enhancing the overall experience. After finishing the boat ride, the return bus took us back to the same parking lot, and we did not need to buy bus tickets again. I forgot to carry binoculars, but if you want to watch the wildlife closely, it's a must-have. Photography enthusiasts should definitely bring zoom cameras. I visited in October, and the weather was pleasant, making the experience even more enjoyable. Periyar Boat Safari is a must-visit for nature lovers, offering a blend of adventure and serenity.

This lake is located within the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady, Kerala, is a stunning destination that perfectly blends natural beauty with a chance to observe wildlife. Nestled among lush forests and mist-covered hills, the lake offers breathtaking scenery that captivates visitors. Boating on Periyar Lake is a must-do experience. While government-operated ferries are available, they can be hard to get due to high demand, but private ferries offer a convenient option. It’s best to book tickets in advance on the official website to ensure availability. If you're lucky, the tranquil atmosphere might allow you to witness wildlife, like elephant families or even a tiger approaching the lake for a drink, making it an unforgettable experience. Even if wildlife sightings don’t happen, the surrounding landscape alone makes the trip worthwhile. Periyar Lake is a must-visit for nature lovers in Kerala!

This lake is inside the national park . The ticket price is 250 each for boat in this park and lake visit. The bus will take you from tickets counter to the park and then the ticket for boat ride. There is cafeteria and complex too. It’s an 1.5 hour boat ride and the way is too beautiful. If you are lucky then you will watch birds and animals there drinking water at the bank of the lake. Also camping and staying available there . We had morning batch boat and the views are too good .

A very good place to visit if you are in thekkady. Plan your day accordingly because there are lots of thing to do here Periyar lake boating is common here and if your are planning to do it kindly book you ticket in advance no offline ticket is possible here . We did nature walk here which was a very great experience to do. If you miss boating here you can do these other activities. You can look photos and videos for reference

It's a boat ride for 3 hours on Periyar Lake in the Periyar National Park. Upward journey takes 1.5 hrs and downward journey takes 1.5 hrs. You can find some wild animals like sambars, elephants, tigers (if you are lucky enough). You will certainly find the Sambars as they are more in number. We had found 4 cute Cubs but from a long distance, watched them on Binocular. The ticket price is ₹255 which is very reasonable price for 3 hrs ride.

Periyar is the longest river and the river with the largest discharge potential in Kerala.  It is one of the few perennial rivers in the region and provides drinking water for several major towns. The Periyar is of utmost significance to the economy of Kerala. It generates a significant proportion of Kerala's electrical power via the Idukki Dam, Mullaperiyar Dam and flows along a region of industrial and commercial activity. The river also provides water for irrigation and domestic use throughout its course besides supporting a rich fishery.  Due to these reasons, the river has been named the "Lifeline of Kerala". Mullaperiyar Dam is a masonry gravity dam on the Periyar River of Idukki district of Indian state of Kerala. It is situated 150km south east of Kochi and 200km north east of state capital city of Trivandrum. It is located 881 m (2,890 ft) above the sea level, on the Cardamom Hills of the Western Ghats in Thekkady, Idukki District of Kerala, India.

It was an amazing experience! The Kalari martial arts performance was fantastic, especially the last 15 minutes with the fire display – truly thrilling to watch. After the show, you can also take photos with the artists, which is a nice touch. The Kathakali show was equally mind-blowing. The performance was powerful, and the singer’s voice added so much depth to the storytelling. Photos with the artists are allowed at the end here as well. Show timings: 6:00 – 7:00 PM: Kalari 7:00 – 8:00 PM: Kathakali Charges: ₹150 per person (kids free). Overall, it’s absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Thekkady!

Must visit this show. Both are amazing shows the price of show is 300/- 5-8 PM show timings. Mesmerising show I really recommend watching them. Martial arts are great and Kathakali also. Which will show our cultural heritage. I really enjoyed the show

All the show's are in evening. Limited seats and ticket. The way of presentation is very good. Kalari and kathakali ( Navarasa ) is the best one. Must try. Ticket price is 300 per head. Timing is one hour. If you booked a ticket by local guide means ticket price is 250 per head.

Extremely worth seeing and understand the dance form and marshal art of Kerala. These two traditional forms were never displayed and explained better before. Hats off to the artists and participants who are so devoted and keeping these art forms alive. The centre is located in the center of Thakkady and easily accessible. Strongly Recommendation to visit this center to witness rich heritage of our country.

Mesmerizing Kalaripayattu and Kathakali Experience I recently visited the Kadathanadan Kalari and Navarasa Kathakali Centre in Thekkady, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Kadathanadan Kalari & Navarasa Kathakali Centre in Thekkady offers an incredible glimpse into Kerala’s rich cultural heritage. One Awesome lifetime experience. Haven’t ever played with an elephant this close. A professional handling came here. Affordable. So considerate and friendly staffs. Peaceful ambiance. Enjoyed a lot. Packages of all ranges available here from specific rides to full day package. The staffs were so genuine and made necessary arrangements for us. The elephant ride was like 15-20 mins and bathing and feeding elephants was around 20-25 mins. Totally had a wait time like 10 mins each. This place had a neat dress changing rooms with heater provisions and neat and clean rest rooms too. The small hut cafe was so neat and got freshly prepared food too. Great. Unforgettable experience

If you want to have a close encounter with elephants this is the place. You can have elephant ride too short though a nice experience. Since it was raining we couldn't explore other activities like elephant bathing, log lifting etc. You may be able to take pics with elephant. The mahout may expect some tips from u. It is advisable to book ur slot to avoid ques especially during holidays and peak days.Overall it was a nice experience.

Saw about this temple online and planned for a visit during trip to tamilnadu. Temple gopuram was very captivating and you can see padmanabha swamy and Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and andal birth place. This padmanabha swamy is very clearly visible and priest explained everyone around lord Vishnu and it is very beautiful. Definitely go and take blessings. No rush, no queue, no ticket, just peaceful visit.

What an amazing temple located in the town of Srivilliputhur. The temple gopuram is one of the largest in India, truly mesmerising- The temple has three Vishnu deities- Vishnu in standing posture,one in sleeping posture and another A Narasimha diety.. There’s a seperate Sanctum for Devi Andal.. Mobiles are not allowed inside the temple sanctum. Lockers are provided for keeping phones. Never forget to taste the legendary Srivilliputhur Palkova!!! This temple is about 10 minutes walk from Srivilliputhur bus stand. Went here on a weekday and this temple was not crowded. From the gopuram which we are we enter the main temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Andal temple is situated in left side of the Vishnu temple. We can take mobiles inside the Vishnu temple but mobile phones are not allowed inside Andal temple and mobiles have to be deposited at mobile keeping centres in front of Andal temple. The sculptures at Andal temple are great. Outside of temple on the road there are many shops which sell the famous Srivilliputhur palkova. Srivilliputhur does not have many hotel's or restaurants. Extremely serene, beautiful Divya Desam. Visited on Ekadeshi. Thought it would be very crowded. But to my surprise, it was not crowded. Visited early in the morning at about 8 am after driving down from Madurai.

A peaceful and memorable visit to Madurai Meenakshi Temple I recently visited the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and it was a beautiful experience. The temple is grand and full of history, with amazing carvings and colorful towers. At the moment, the towers are under renovation and painting work is going on, so most of them are covered. Still, the temple’s beauty and energy can be felt everywhere. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and spiritual. The darshan of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar felt very peaceful. Even though it was crowded, everything was fairly well organized. One thing to be careful about — there are a lot of people outside trying to mislead visitors, especially auto drivers and some shopkeepers. They might say there’s no cloakroom inside, but don’t believe that. There are official cloakrooms near all four temple towers where you can safely keep your slippers and mobile phones. This place is awesome. A lot of spiritual values with history. Located in between City. Market, shops, restaurant near by. Special Darshan can be available with 100 rs ticket for both temple inside the campus. Free darshan takes more time than usual. Now painting work is going on. And maybe it will six months atleast so now people not able to see it's beautiful architecture from outside. Mobile, Smart watch, earbuds etc not allowed inside temple. U can kept it in claok room with reasonable price less than 20rs accordingly. No special dress code required for this temple. Nearest junction is madurai and auto available easily or u can go by walk.

One of the most famous Temple of India , situation in Madurai. It's temple of Meenakshi Amman otherwise known as Devi Parvathi. Don't miss this temple ,it's also one of the oldest temple in India . Best time to visit will be during 5 or 6 AM in the morning,so that you can finish darshan in less than 30mins ,it gets crowded later in the day . I visited the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, and the experience was truly exceptional. I loved the temple with all my heart. The architecture is breathtaking, and they are still working on certain areas to make it even better. Every intricate detail on the walls is impressive and reflects the temple’s rich heritage. The people there are incredibly pure and kind-hearted. Their warmth and the way they treat visitors stood out to me—they genuinely make you feel respected and welcomed. Before entering the temple, there are a few important rules to follow. You must remove your shoes, and bags have to be deposited at the designated counters. Shoe storage is available for free at specific counters, which is very convenient. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the temple premises, and you cannot leave your phone inside your bag. There is a special counter meant only for mobile phones, where they charge ₹5 per phone. So if you are planning to visit, it’s best to come hands-free or carry only what’s necessary so you can enter peacefully and enjoy the temple without any hassle. Overall, it was a soulful and memorable experience, and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling to Madurai.

Do not visit this place until they finish their renovation. It’s total waste of money and time. On each side of main building which is under renovation, there are two galleries. One is paid and another is either free or included in the price. Staffs at both centre were taking their mid noon nap and was not bothered to greet or say hello. All what’s on display was in a very bad state. There were lots of spelling mistakes on all the writings. Someone accountable, please have a look. This is not what a Gandhi Museum in India should look like even when it’s on renovation. Very very very disappointed and has never seen anything pathetic like this.

Didn't go there. This is always in renovation. Wase r of time. Glad that ticket cost is not so high, just ten rupees per adult and five rupees for kids. Museum renovated for ever ..this is a bad administration for all relevant departments. And it's a huge reputation damage to the City. I urge honorable district collector sir to jump in an look into this on priority.

Main museum is under renovation (it was supposed to have reopened by now), government museum is often closed depending on the day, and the only thing to see is a small exhibit on the Indian independence movement, a replica of Gandhi’s house, and a shrine that (supposedly) contains some of his ashes. Worth 30-45 minutes if you’re already in the area otherwise skip it - you can get the same information about Gandhi online quite easily. Also why is there a giant T-Rex at a Gandhi memorial? Seems a bit distasteful.

I visited this place on 17th July 2025. There was only a small gallery where you could learn about india's journey from when the britishers started colonising to the independence period.. it would take 30- 40 mins to see this gallery. A lot of history that we learned in school and more can be understood from here. In addition to this there is a small museum that was open. There is also a small memorial where Gandhijis ashes are kept. However, the main museum was closed for renovation. Based on my interaction with one staff member, it seems the closed part of the museum would re-open on 2nd October 2025. Pls check with the latest info.. i have seen many reviewers criticizing the staff working there. However, i never faced any issues and the staff were very polite.

The government museum was closed as we visited on a second Saturday. Some sections of the museum were set up on some individual buildings which we could see. Our experience was good.

Visited the museum on 2 October 2025.. The main museum (palace) was closed for renovation. Some pictures, books and written facts about Gandhiji and freedom struggle is displayed in the gallery. There is a small bookshop near the gallery. Saw the Asthi peedam. Gandhi kutir was closed. The small museum to the left was closed. It has many historical artifacts. # Inside the gallery the staffs were watching reels with high volume. # The security in front of the small museum was very rude. As tourists we may not know everything about the museum and buildings. So if we ask something I believe they should answer politely or guide us to someone who is more informed.

A good place depicting Gandhi s life… takes 45 minutes to see… very spacious.. Gandhi s blooded last cloths are placed here for exhibition.. Indian freedom movement is portrayed here… good place overall… Gandhian studies are taught here.. calm environment…

This is our third visit to this place. God has been kind to us this time- we could get very clear views of the pillar rocks. A great creation of nature. However parking of vehicles can be tricky with very limited places. There is an entry ticket of Rs 20 per adult

If you are in Kodaikanal then this is a must visit place in your list wherever you go if you didn’t find the best climate but still here you will feel the best climate. Pillars rock view point is one of the finest to click your photography skills the nature will come deep into your camera

When I visited, the skies were cloudy, so it was hard to see much, though I still got glimpses of the surrounding hills and forests. The rock pillars rise dramatically from the valley and give a sense of awe. There are small shops nearby for snacks and souvenirs, making it a nice spot for nature lovers and photographers.

Good spot for viewing the pillar rocks 🤩, There is a entry fee of 10 rupees per person. If the climate is good we can see the two rocks clearly, otherwise it will be covered in fogs. Must visit this place while going to Guna cave.

On a Saturday, the crowds were very big. On top of that, the clouds and mist were engulfing the pillar rock every now and then. ₹10 entry ticket for adults. A board read here: MR. B.S.WARD, A BRITISH CITIZEN FOUND THIS PILLAR ROCK DURING THE YEAR 1821. PILLAR ROCKS ARE THREE VERTICAL GRANITE BOULDERS, STANDING SHOULDER to shoulder AMIDST UNTOUCHED POCKETS OF DENSE RAINFORESTS. THE VERTICAL HEIGHT OF THE ROCKS IS ALMOST 122 METERS/400 FEET

Very good location but need to wait for the fog to get clear, once fog get clear you will get a wonderful view of the valley and pillar rock.

Loved the calm and cool atmosphere here. Walking among the tall pine trees felt refreshing and peaceful. We took some great photos, and the kids enjoyed running around. There were a few monkeys around, its fun to watch, but we had to be careful with snacks, but they added to the fun experience. It was a bit crowded but still a wonderful place to visit.

Try visiting this place in the morning, the patch lights can distroy the picture. So find a good place without patchy lights. Parking is decent and i found carrots with reasonable or less rate here

I visited this beautiful place in early June 2024. It’s a wonderful spot for a casual walk with your loved ones, offering the feeling of strolling along the edges of a mountain while being completely safe. I’d recommend avoiding school holiday periods, as heavy traffic jams during that time can eat up a lot of your day.

the place offers a great aerial view of kodiakanal, it's very near to Kodiakanal bus stop walkable distance. one can sit and enjoy snacks while watching fog. it has two entrances and remains open till 6.30 pm in the evening.

Just another place for walking. Not worth giving 50 rs entry free. There are many places in outer kodaikanal where you can enjoy such views for free. I visited around 8 am and there was no rush. This place has two entrances.

This lake is situated at a very high level from the sea. The climate is almost cool. We can enjoy it there by cycling, horse riding,pedestal boat services and beautiful flower gardens near this lake

I visited this lake and really liked the atmosphere. Boating and cycling were enjoyable, though it was quite crowded during the day. There’s also a market around the lake with souvenirs, food, and local chocolates. But for me, the best part was at night — the place becomes almost empty, and that’s when you can truly enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of nature.

Nice lake… Pedal boat (for 2 & 4person) available… also they are help to ride… 400 rs per boat … for walking on peri feri of lake is very good… Horse riding, cycling is one of the best options… Twins cycle is extra ordinary experience…. Good visit time evening…

Azhagar Kovil temple is a popular destination in Madurai. This temple is located 22 kilometers from Madurai city. This massive structure is surrounded by a fort. Alagarkovil and its surrounding villages have a historical past with traces of two thousand year old evidence. It is one of the 108 abodes of Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped in the name of Kallazhagar. The mandapam and the exquisite pillars leave one in awe. The Chithirai festival during which the god Alagar visits Madurai and enters into the river Vaigai is the most famous one attracting devotees from all over Tamil Nadu. This is actually a great occasion not seen elsewhere in Tamil Nadu. It is the common forum where the folk and the elitist population mingle with each other. This festival brings social, religious and cultural harmony among the people.

Must visit place if you are visiting madurai One of the best view you will have * Little Suggestion: there are 2 more temple upward so must go there and 1) if you are visiting these 2 temple have a extra pair of clothes because in noopura gangai rakkayi amman temple take bath i would suggest a 15rs tickets otherwise in free line it would take more then hour even if you see there are only 10 person in line so it's recommended. 2) take Madurai - Natham Rd , yes it more distance but you will found best view this route. It is closed to mountain and no traffic and nice road quility. 3) travel in evening try to reach before 4:00 PM so you can enjoy all 3 temple and on the way to mountain lots of monkeys (not so harmful) but drive safely

Before visiting to this temple that I was not aware about the story of how lord Vishnu played the role of brother for durga mata in her marriage...and thus temple is dedicated to brother of Durga maa that is kallazghar akka vishnu ji.. This temple is really mesmerizing...in love with this temple because of location, the carvings, the positivity of the temple that you will feel instant divine connection. Rest most of the temples of south india don't allow phones so only your eyes and heart can experience the beauty of this and every temple of south india.

May explored One of the Padai Veedu of Bhagavn Shri.Murugan. due to time restrictions (Have to climb palani hill before 5.pm, later there are govt busses to visit palani Temple. Animals May be roaming in the pathway, so the restrictions. Otherwise you can go by your own vehicle (Cars and Bikes)

The famous kal alagar temple located in the hills of alagarmalai is quite a beautiful place to visit in Madurai. There’s a huge parking area outside the temple complex. The gopuram is tall and sculptures are well preserved. The main shrine is located 100 meters approx from the main entrance. Average waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays

The temple is truly beautiful, and the prasadham is excellent. If devotees visit, the free line moves faster than the paid one, which is convenient. The Ramanujar shrine is a peaceful spot where you can rest, and the Perumal looks stunning. A visit to Shakarathalvar is a must, but before that, make sure to stop by the Karupu Swami Kovil at the entrance—the aroma of his sandhanam is heavenly. After that, you can see Azhagar and explore the other shrines at a slow and relaxed pace, making the visit truly enjoyable. The temples maintainance was so good and kept clean.

Recently visited the Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. Wonderful experience. Mesmerizing idol of Lord Murugan. Surprisingly people weren't understanding when we asked the direction to Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. It's popularly known as Solaimalai Murugan Temple. The temple is located about 25 kilometres north of Madurai, atop a hill covered with dense forests. One of the six important abodes of the deity Murugan located in Tamil Nadu, it is close to the Alagar Perumal Temple. Around 3 kms from Alagar Kovil, there's a small ghat road to the top of hill. The road is excellent. Govt free bus service is available but one needs to wait in long queues. Many people come by walking. Roadside parking available on top of the hill. Temple will be open from morning 6am to evening 6 pm. No break in between. Darshan usually takes 1-2 hrs during weekends. There's Rs. 100 quick darshan service available which takes around 30 mins.

Pazhamudhircholai, one of Lord Murugan’s Arupadai Veedu, is where Avvai Patti received wisdom from Murugan himself — about hot and cold fruits! I visited on a Sunday around 5:30 pm, there was quite a crowd, so I took the ₹100 darshan ticket. If you wait for about 30 minutes, the rush settles down and you can have a peaceful darshan. The picture gallery is lovely they even give a Murugan Valli Devasenai photo with a coin, a nice keepsake for pooja, travel, or gifting to others. The temple layout is beautiful: Vinayagar shrine comes first, Murugan with Valli and Devasenai in the center, and the Vel shrine at the end. Set on a hill, the place is cool and serene though the monkeys are plenty and a bit aggressive thanks to frequent feeding. So, guard your food and belongings! A visit here is a true delight, especially to see the ancient Kadugal and soak in the divine calm of the hills.

It was heartwarming to see the main deity—Lord Murugan—worshipped alongside Valli and Deivanai. The temple priests were friendly and maintained a good rhythm of poojas and aarti. Don't miss the nearby Noopura Ganga, a sacred stream said to have divine origins. The entire area feels untouched and blessed. Tips: Footwear must be removed at the base before heading up the steps. Morning and evening visits are best to avoid the heat. Carry water and be respectful of the natural surroundings. Highly recommend this temple not just for devotees, but also for nature lovers and peace seekers.

Unique feeling when I reached Murugan Temple to pray 🙏. I really recommend walking your way up to the temple — it makes the experience even more special. The most wholesome part of my journey was meeting new friends along the way; it truly made the trip unforgettable. I’ll cherish this experience forever and would love to visit again with my friends and family in the future. Small temple from the Aarupadai lot and open at all times. Vehicle parking is available on the road sides. Slightly ghat section and people will be walking all along to climb up/down. You will see much crowd in boarding the bus rather than at the Temple itself. Highly recommended to go on own transport.
