Visiting these mounzains was such an amazing experience! From the moment you step inside, you can feel how ancient and powerful this place is. The formations are absolutely stunning, and the caves themselves are enormous, much larger than I expected. Walking through them feels like exploring another world hidden beneath the surface. Everything is beautifully lit, making it easy to take in all the incredible details. The entrance fee is only 40K VND, which is really affordable for such a memorable and breathtaking adventure. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area, it’s one of those places that leaves a lasting impression!

If you are planning to visit De Nang don't miss out this place. There were 2 options to reach mountain top one by taking elevator till 5th floor and then walk or else by trekking or walking via mountain stairs. If you taking elevator you have to pay more but for trekking it's free. There was a entry charge for the mountain. Follow the map and then you reach different view points, temple, caves etc. It was a good experience. Keep a water bottle and soft towel with you as Vietnam is famous for its extreme hot climate.

High & breathtaking ❤️ a long lift from the bottom to the top you would enjoy magnificent views of the mountain below. The place is well worth of travel with the bridge and all the activities. Get your walking shoes on because you will be walking a lot if you want to see all the beautiful things they have created. There are also many rides... Which I missed some of them 😂 well worth the investment of time and money to see this place if you are in the area 🌟

This is a must go place for any tourist travelling to da nang. Best to go early as this place opens at 7am. There is lot of walking up the stairs. So carry water and be prepared to explore the pagodas and mesmerizing caves. Also donot miss the highest point of the peak here which gives a beautiful view of the city and the sea

The views from the top are beautiful, even in a bit of rain, and the climb through the caves and pagodas is interesting without being too exhausting. The area feels peaceful and well-maintained, and there’s plenty to explore — temples, statues, and little pathways that make you feel like you’re discovering hidden spots. It’s a nice mix of nature and culture, and much more relaxing and enjoyable than the crowded tourist traps. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in the area

Marble Mountains was a great experience. The entrance ticket is only 40,000 VND, and the elevator is very convenient — 15,000 VND per ride (30,000 VND round-trip). I spent about 1.5–2 hours exploring the caves, pagodas and viewpoints. Everything is well-organized, and the views over Da Nang are fantastic. Definitely worth visiting while in the area.

The Ngu Hanh Son (five elements mountains) OR Marble Mountains, are actually a cluster of FIVE marble and limestone hills, located in Da Nang, Vietnam. The five mountains are named after the five elements: Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth). All 5 have cave entrances, tunnels and Buddhist sancturies. It is still possible to climb to the summit of Mount Thuy, (the only mountain accessible for visitors) a 156 steps distance, which gives great views from its summit. The mountains were in fact close to American Marble Mountain Air Facility, during the Vietnam War. Those days, the Marble Mountains contained a secret hospital for the Vietcong. The Marble Mountains are home to several Buddhist and Hindu grottoes too including Huyen Khong and Tang Chon, and many Hindu and Buddhist sanctuaries like the temples of Tam Thai, Tu Tam, Linh Ung, and the pagoda of Pho Dong. The sanctuaries feature statues and depictions of religious scenes, carved out of the marble itself. Even though one loves every bit of this Earth's geography and has the best in mind to preserve its nature, it was still fascinating to note, as to how anyone or for that matter, people generally, can make use of natural elements in such a perfect way. Carving or chipping out marble must have been extremely, mind and time consuming, and that to do so, without faults? ... amazing.

The Mercure French Village is a beautiful hotel and a lovely place to stay. We really appreciated having direct access to the park, and our room was modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and always helpful, which made the stay even better. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of foods. The only downside for me was the smell of cigarette smoke in the bedroom but overall we truly enjoyed our stay.

I had a wonderful trip here with my family. However, there were a few issues regarding our room. Fortunately, a very helpful staff member assisted us. Her name is SUNI. She enthusiastically advised me on the room options, pricing, and the services available, which made my trip much smoother. I came back here after a year, this time with my family on my birthday. The weather in November up here is quite harsh in my opinion =))) so my experience wasn’t exactly perfect. The food didn’t suit my taste, the room was noisy because of the neighbors, and the interior and architecture seem to have deteriorated. These issues were already present the first time I visited in May 2024, but they still haven’t been improved. Perhaps the only thing that really impressed me was the customer service. A family member of mine had dinner here and ended up with food poisoning. Fortunately, a staff member named SUNI and the medical team quickly came to help and were extremely attentive. Luckily, my family member is okay now. I hope that next time I come, the hotel will still be operating and will have renovated the rooms so the trip can be more enjoyable. You should visit here in spring or summer for a better experience, as winter can be quite rough

Outstanding. I travelled with 2 elderlies, one not too mobile. They had wheelchairs waiting for us and helping us with luggage. If we had any concerns, they fixed it straight away. They communicated really well. I read all sorts of reviews re confusing check in ..as soon as u get there, look for a mercure staff in uniform and they would take care of you I read that the rooms had thin walls...true but probably as the neighbours were walking past but never lasting more than 1 min Breakfast..good selection and farah was so kind to my mum as she was patient with howshe wanted her coffee Dinner buffet...good price and quality..even juice and water were inc Maison du roi..great food To finish it, we forgot a handbag in the room and contacted them while we were on the cable car....they r bringing it down as I am writing the review. What can I say...memorable and super pleasant stay. Looks chaotic but they somehow have it worked out really well. Thank u mercure staff We would be back soon with friends and the rest of the family

The best food, best service, they give us upgraded room for free and it was amazing and very clean, bed very comfortable and clean. First time staying at Mercure French Village. I love the design of the hotel; it makes me feel like I am in the middle of a French city. I really appreciate the excellent service from Lucia. She added me on WhatsApp and promptly replied to all of my requests. During our trip to Ba Na Hills, there were many things I didn’t understand, and she assisted me by answering all my questions. I am truly grateful to her. We also had the chance to have dinner at L’ETable! The food was amazing, and the service from Mira was exceptional. She took great care of us during dinner at L’ETable and also during breakfast. We were really happy with her service. **Things to Improve:** This time, our room had a cleanliness issue, which I hope the hotel can improve. **Tips for Travelers:** If you book a stay at Hotel Mercure French Village, there is a dedicated area for you to drop off your car and check in. They can sell you discounted cable car and Ba Na Hills tickets, so you won’t have to queue with other travelers. There is a specific cable car reserved just for hotel guests. Also, the next day, from 06:00–06:05 am, 06:30–06:35 am, and 07:00–07:05 am, the hotel offers an early cable car service to the Golden Bridge exclusively for hotel guests. This allows you to escape the crowds and take photos in peace.

If you're taking a Grab, it seems like the drop-off point is set too far. So you can just stop near the new bridge, which will open on March 26, 2025. On the map, Grab directs you all the way to the end, which is a very quiet area with only two or three tofu stalls, where vendors aggressively offer you tofu. A bowl of tofu is only 10k VND, and it's actually quite good—just like a typical local experience. So you should give it a try!

Took a ~25 minutes boat ride for VND150K per pax. Nothing amazing, views were mehhh. Could be skipped.

The Perfume River runs gracefully through Hue, adding charm to the city with its calm flow and romantic scenery. A boat ride at sunset is unforgettable, with the golden light reflecting on the water. I enjoyed every moment and will highly recommend my friends to experience this magical river.

Great River and site to visit in Hue. We took a night boat to listen to the palace music show. It was great and price is not expensive. Highly recommend!

It’s really nice for a journey along the water. The people selling boat rides WILL rip you off. A 200k ride for an hour quickly became 200k per person. Then our 1 hour ride was over in 15 minutes. Look it’s not expensive, I just didn’t appreciate being ripped off.

A peaceful place to admire the amazing skyline of Hue. It is ideal for a stroll along the riverbank and the park nearby. It was pity that we couldn't enjoy Hue folk song performances due to bad weather.

An amazing river at Hue This is the best nice river flow through the a city in Viet Nam. Its name "Sông Hương" meaning Perfume river. Once upon a time, the Nguyen empire choose this city because the river and the sight so harmony with nature. If you come to Hue. Take a dragon boat cruise along the river. Visit Thien Mu pagoda and tomb of the king. The boats and the river gives you an insight into the fisher families and Hue culture. Have a nice trip.

Was really nice to be able to walk the walls of the citadel and the information panels along the way added all the relevant info. You could get an idea of how important the defences were in times gone by. Shame you couldn't get to upper levels in the towers. Take time to have a walk if you're in the area.

Go between June and August for better weather. Still, such a great day trip from Da Nang with its rich history and passionate restoration work. You will see some Vietnamese locals dressed up in traditional wear taking photos, making the experience even more surreal.

Must visit. If you’re visiting Hue, plan to visit Citadel along with the tombs. Do a 2 days tour and don’t rush. Guided tours will offer more. Excellent capital city. Rich history and great architecture. You’ll be satisfied with the experience.

Hue Imperial City was built in 1804 under King Gia Long and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. I love walking around the ancient palace and admire the beauty at every corner. Hundred years ago, it used to a enormous and glorious palace. Sadly, many constructions are damaged, though they are being restored, could not bring back the original spirit of the place. The atmosphere was quite sad in a rainy day.

Come to the palace for a photo op, especially in traditional costumes. It's not a particularly interesting place for a casual tour, but it's beautiful in its details. If you're visiting on a sunny day, be sure to bring an umbrella, as there's very little shade.

Overall, it was a solid experience, though I expected a bit more. The complex is huge, but the overall layout could be better organized. I didn’t take the audio guide because I don’t like using headphones — probably a mistake. The descriptions of the monuments were quite minimal and not very engaging. I also chose a bad day to visit since it was extremely hot.

Expansive area of historic city with palaces, temples and official buildings. Visited on a rainy day and spent an entire afternoon walking through the corridors and alleys. Not as beautiful as present day Vietnam but still worth visiting

Stunning beyond my wildest expectations. I could have spent hours there other than for the heat. Without question the visit here has been my highlight of the whole trip to Hue. Early, early morning or very late afternoon most highly recommended.

This isn't the most popular of the tombs, but it's the most interesting. There's a large park here, where you can stroll in the shade or sit by the lake. Plus, it's close to the city, so it's easy to just wander around in the pleasant atmosphere.

The resting place of Tu Duc King, the longest-reigning emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. This mausoleum is one of the four most beautiful mausoleums in Hue, famed for its poetic and elegant architecture. This enormous construction has 2 main parts: palace and tomb. Take time too walk around and explore this place!

Personally I preferred this over the other royal tombs in the area. The site was much larger than I thought it would be, and was lovely to walk around. The grounds were serine and very well kept. Not many information plaques that I could find so maybe an audioguide would be good. Lots of trees so plenty of opportunity to stay in the shade on sunny days.

The Tomb of Tu Duc is a truly serene and beautiful place. It's not just a tomb, but a huge complex of pavilions, temples, and lakes, all set within a peaceful, pine-covered valley. The architecture is stunning, reflecting the emperor's poetic and romantic nature. You can easily spend an hour or two here, walking around the grounds and enjoying the tranquility. It's a must-visit if you're in Huế!

Tranquil sight to visit away from buzzing center of Hue. Sufficient information given at the sight. Worth the combo-ticket. Back in time to a world so near and yet so far.

A spacious mausoleum with lakes, pavilions, and tree-lined paths. Its style is more classic and modest compared to others, but it offers beautiful corners to walk around. We expected it to be quieter, but there were quite a few people when we visited. Still, it’s worth seeing for its historical value and peaceful setting.

Peaceful and Majestic The Tomb of Minh Mạng is one of the most impressive royal tombs in Huế. The architecture is stunning — perfectly symmetrical, with beautiful pavilions, lotus ponds, and quiet paths surrounded by nature. It feels peaceful and grand at the same time. A great place to learn about history and enjoy a calm, scenic walk. Definitely worth including on your Huế itinerary!

This mausoleum is very spacious, with beautiful gardens, lakes, and traditional architecture. It feels more peaceful compared to some of the other tombs, and walking around gives you a good sense of history and nature combined. I visited on a day with pleasant weather and only light, short rain, which made the experience enjoyable and refreshing. The site is quite large, so be prepared to walk a bit, but the scenery is worth it. I used a combo ticket that included several sites in Hue, which made the visit good value. Overall, it’s a nice balance of culture, history, and nature – definitely worth including in your trip to Hue.

Absolutely beautiful and breath-taking. Every area was like stepping back into history. I paid for the audio tour guide but I don't think it was very worth it cuz it just had some description of the place, not much about the usage or purpose of that area. It was raining a bit so there was no other visitors there, soooo nice.

Unfortunately, our visit here was a real disappointment. It’s not hard to imagine (but we could only imagine) how this might be a lovely place to visit but within a five minute walk from the entrance all else was blocked from further view as all paths leading deeper in to the mausoleum’s premises were blocked by construction, and even near the entrance, little effort seemed to have been made to preserve what should be the serenity and beauty of the place. We strongly feel that this mausoleum should be closed to the public until construction and dredging are complete, or that the entrance fee should either be waived or drastically reduced.

A stunning and peaceful site, beautifully set among lakes, gardens, and pine trees. The symmetry of the layout is impressive, and every gate, bridge, and pavilion feels perfectly placed. Built in 1843, the tomb reflects Emperor Minh Mang’s vision of harmony between architecture and nature. It’s a relaxing place to walk around, with plenty of shade and photo spots. Definitely one of Hue’s most scenic imperial tombs and well worth visiting.

Rented a bike and drive here. Near a beautiful lake and surrounded by water. It makes for a nice walk around. We came mid afternoon on a super hot day so needed to grab some drinks at the entrance and again on the exit. There is toilets and drinks and some food options here. We came on a week day. You pay to park a scooter but they don’t seem to charge locals but price is small. Not as big as we were led to believe but worth visiting.

A beautiful and unique place, the pagoda sits on a hill, peaceful and serene, right next to the picturesque Perfume River. There are tasty local foods and great seating spots by the river. Nearby you can enjoy kayaking, swimming in the river, and listening to the famous Hue folk songs. Inside the pagoda, many relics and valuable information about the Nguyen Dynasty (Vietnam’s last feudal dynasty) are preserved. The pagoda also houses a great bell recognized as a national treasure.

A small complex comprised of the pagoda and a temple above stone steps. The pagoda faces the perfume river, which used to be perfumed by flowers flowing down from the vicinity. The pagoda is not open for entry, but you can still admire the piece of preserved history. The temple in the back is open for visitors, but please show respect and follow the rules in terms of clothing and decorum.

We visited Thiên Mụ Pagoda as part of our shore excursion from the cruise ship, and it ended up being one of the nicest stops on the tour. The pagoda sits on a hill overlooking the Perfume River, and the views alone make the visit worthwhile. The grounds are peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to walk around and take photos. The architecture is elegant and iconic, especially the seven-story tower at the entrance. Inside the complex, the gardens, pathways, and temple buildings create a calm and serene atmosphere that feels less crowded than other major attractions. Our guide shared the history and significance of the pagoda, which added depth to the experience. Even without a guide, the cultural and spiritual presence of the site comes through clearly. Overall, Thiên Mụ Pagoda is a beautiful and relaxing place to visit in Huế. It is easy to explore, offers great river views, and is an excellent stop on any cruise tour or day trip.

Lovely pagoda overlooking the river. Very nice and tranquil and free to walk in/around. The grounds are much larger than it looks and in the back is a courtyard full of large bonsais. In the very back is a miniature pagoda with its own courtyard

A quaint tourist spot. It is serene, sleepy and yet charming. This spot is especially enticing when there are not a lot of tourists around and you are left on your own. The history of this spot is already covered on other sites, so I am not going over it.

the pagoda was built during Nguyen Dynasty in the early 17th century, regarded as the most well-known pagoda in Hue. The traditional architecture style looks simple but solemn and peaceful. A bit noisy with many tourists in the morning, will be more quiet in the late afternoon or sunset time.

Thien Mu Pagoda isn’t just a landmark in Hue — it’s the iconic pagoda that feels like a serene gateway back in time. Perched on a hill overlooking the Perfume River, it’s a place where history, spirituality, and stunning architecture all come together. The star of the show is, of course, the seven-story pagoda itself. Standing tall and proud, it looks like a guardian watching over the city. As you walk through the entrance with its fierce guardian statues, you can’t help but feel a little humbled — and maybe slightly judged for all your past sins (don’t worry, they seem forgiving). Inside the grounds, there’s so much to see: intricate statues, the ancient bell that’s as impressive as it is photogenic, and peaceful gardens perfect for a reflective stroll. The atmosphere is calm, even with visitors around, and it’s easy to imagine what life must have been like centuries ago when this was a bustling center of worship. Pro tip: Wear comfortable shoes — the steps are historic (translation: uneven), and take a moment to just sit quietly and enjoy the breeze by the river. It’s also a fantastic spot for photography, so bring your camera or phone fully charged. Overall, Thien Mu Pagoda is a must-visit while in Hue. Whether you’re there for the history, the architecture, or just a bit of soul-soothing calm, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve gained a little perspective… and probably a lot of great photos. 📸

Was a great place to see what it was like for the Vietnamese resistance against the Americans and south Vietnam. The lady that talked to us knew a lot but it sounded like it was off a script (fair enough since English isn’t here first language). The walk through the tunnel was small but really showed us just how they had to live to survive (if you are tall you actually might not fit unless you crawl). The only downside which could have just been our group but we just straight walked through the tunnel and didn’t learn much about like how they lived or what it felt like maybe it was just hard when it’s so small, in that case if it was just our group the tunnels are a great way to learn and understand another side of the Vietnam war instead of just the Americans.

This Vietnam historic tunnel system is not anything like Cu Chi tunnel, and absolutely worths the visit. It speaks the voices of Vietnamese heroic ancestors who gave up their "today" so that we, their descendants, can wake up "tomorrow". Forever be grateful to the war invalids and martyrs ♥️

Came as part of the DMZ tour from Hue. Very interesting to hear all the history of the tunnels. An amazing place dug out in 18 months and used as home for around 300 people from the village during the war. Incredible how they managed to live for such a long time in these spaces with limited time to get out to enjoy fresh air. Bomb craters still litter the area so you get an impression of how heavily the area was targeted. If you don't do the whole tour it's definitely worth making time to visit here anyway. Very interesting.

Thoroughly worth the trip. Fascinating exploration of the cave system. We just turned up, purchased entry tickets, and asked for a guide. There is a 30min video presentation you can watch beforehand which explains the story of the tunnels. Our guide was a 3rd generation villager whose parents were born in the tunnels. She gave us a very emotional account of her parents plight in the tunnels. We arrived around 1pm and spent about 3hrs for the whole visit. Be prepared to walk down steep steps in narrow tunnels up to 30m underground. There are no handrails so reasonable mobility and fitness is required.

If you are traveling through Vietnam, or at least passing by through here from north to south it HAS to be one of your stops! It’s my third time in Vietnam but the very first in the tunnels and the only thing I regret is not coming here earlier. It was an enlightening experience getting to know more about the history and being able to see where it happened. Vietnam proves once again why they are such a strong, resilient and beautiful country.

DMZ tunnels North Vietnam. Very impressive to see what the build to survive, because these tunnels were only meant to keep civilians save during the bombing. There were 3 levels from 10, 15 and 23 meters deep. The second level was for utilising 200 up to 1000 people (worst case) having familie rooms, a baby room (17 kids were born underground, 16 still living) and an operating/medical room. The 3rd level (23 meters) was only for storing food and weapons to defend, because the humidity was too high to live there. Longest stay of people inside was only five days during bombardments.

This place is cool! Worth the visit especially if the tour include other turístic spots. Don't come only for the Tunnels, buy a package that include many places in the area.

We were absolutely thrilled with the trip that Vu planned for us! We spent 5 days with him touring numerous sites where my father served while in the army. We would not have been able to access many of the places we visited without his wealth of knowledge of the area and sites related to the war. If we return to Vietnam again, we would only consider booking a tour with Vu!

Booked this tour to the DMZ and Vinh Moc Tunnels as a gift for my partner, who’s a history buff. The drive from Da Nang was long but scenic, with a very friendly and professional driver. Mr Vu’s passion and knowledge of history made the experience unforgettable—he offered fascinating insights into the war from a Vietnamese perspective and how it shapes attitudes and culture today. We recommend Annam Tour. Mr Vu is a fantastic guide having fluent English and deep knowledge about the DMZ and the war itself. He makes that your imagination brings you to the times of war. With Mr Vu each hill and square of the DMZ has its own history. In addition, Mr Vu shows historical photos on a tablet which is an added value. Finally, he uses a good quality car which is an advantage over other tours. For sure worth the price.

We had a tour with Vu to know more about the Vinh Moc tunnels. It was amazing! Plenty of information about the war and how the people managed to love by then.

A humbling experience. For all sides. I got to walk alone quiet around the field. It must have been hell there. Though provoking and I believe if you have any interest you should go.

I’ve been visiting the Khe Sanh Combat Base and its Ta Con airstrip museum for 17 years, often with American veterans who fought in Vietnam. This site, infamous for the 77-day siege where countless American GIs and fifteen thousand of North Vietnamese soldiers lost their lives, is more than a historical landmark—it’s a place of healing. For the veterans, it’s a chance to face their past and honor the fallen, and for me, it’s a space to reflect on the sacrifices of both sides. I often think of those who died here and hope their souls rest in peace. That said, the museum experience could be improved. The interior exhibitions lean a bit biased in their presentation, and some photo captions are inaccurate—corrections would add credibility. Accessibility is another issue; there’s no ramp for wheelchair users, limiting who can fully explore the site. The souvenir counter feels cluttered and could be reorganized to create a warmer, more welcoming vibe for visitors. On a brighter note, the surrounding area boasts some of Vietnam’s best coffee, a legacy started by Frenchman Eugène Poilane in the mid-1920s. Sipping it amid the now-peaceful coffee fields adds a unique layer to the visit. Khe Sanh remains a powerful, humbling place, but a few updates could make it even more meaningful for those who come to remember.

Hearing a lot of stories on the battle of Khe Sanh, which was one of the longest and bloodiest battles of the Vietnam War, I decided to come and see the museum. I must admit I was not disappointed as I could learn Abu the story of the 1968 Battle of Khe Sanh and the role the base played during the war.

Again on the DMZ tour. This was an interesting place and the history around the area and why it was put here as a combat base to shut off the Ho Chi Minh trail. A few interesting relics still here such as bunkers, a Patton tank, an APC and a Huey and Chinook helicopter. The museum tells of the siege to take the area and subsequent battles. Good for the history buffs.

Nice site bulit on the former marine air base in Khe Sanh. Small musuem of the conflict from the Vietnamese viewpoint. Some old aircraft and tanks of US origin still onsite as well.

A bunch of old war junk and a small decent museum. Not worth the 50k admission. I had high hopes. The Indy redeeming feature was the overly friendly vietnamese ladies I met there

Ancient stupa near the Laos border. Now it is fully restored it has nice structures. Many devotees visit this place for meditation and chanting.

The iconic ancient historical pagoda looked stunning in the night. Everyone arriving would come here first and walking 3 times in clockwise direction around the pagoda to pay respects. So don't miss this site. If you've never been to the place, that means you never really visit Nakhon Phanom. By the way it's quite convenient to travel by several alternative transportation options.

I came here at the evening. Not too busy. Perfect temperature, clear sky. Very nice temple. A few years ago people would leave little Buddha statues at a particular place there but it seems they don't do that anymore.

This wat has a very old part inside the main temple building with old Buddha figures but can only be entered by male population. It's interesting to see the old building techniques using brick and mortar. It's nice that they left it bare so we can see it. Other than that there isn't much to see or do except give offerings and pray for good fortune. 🙏

The area of this temple grounds dates back hundreds of years. Unfortunately all the shade trees have been removed & no wooden historical structures are left. The wat is best to view at night- very magical.

We visited the dinosaur museum in Kalasin and had a really great time. It’s an impressive place with a lot to see and learn, especially for kids who love dinosaurs. The exhibitions are interesting and there’s a lot of history packed into the museum. You can tell it’s been there a while, though – some parts are starting to look a bit worn and could use some maintenance. Still, the overall experience was absolutely worth it. After the museum, we walked up the hill behind it to visit a beautiful temple at the top. The view from up there is fantastic and adds something extra to the whole trip. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by. It’s a fun and educational outing with a nice mix of nature, culture, and prehistoric adventure.

A good place for dinosaur lovers! Probably the best in the SEA region. Big enough with lots of exhibits of skeletons and fossils of ancient animals. However, some exhibits are broken or not well kept, so not in a good shape. The excavation site, up the hill, is interesting and not to be missed.

Very informative museum. Defiantly work the trip. Lots of displays. Was really impressed at the level of detail, quality and visual appearance. Alot of the displays are in thai, but Google translate helps. Also walk up to dig sit is also worth it.

The museum is very nice! But why I need paid 150 baht??? I stay work here as a Teacher for 9 years have a Pink card and Working permit but still pay as a Tourist! A retirement men and people who travel can pay easy. It's very bad why need to pay full price not same as local. Anyway Kalasin is always a nice place.

Not to recommend for foreigners, as they have to pay the triple price for a ticket! Thai perst is 50 Bath entrance fee and for foreigners 150 Bath. Even with a WP and pink Thai identity card, they'll charge the triple price! Very sad as it could be interesting and something I usually would like to support with my hard earned money. Tourismus friendly should be different in my opinion!

Beautiful smaller temple located in between some of the main temples in Khon Kaen. The temple ground were under renovation when I visited but the temples itself are still a beauty to behold. Worth paying a visit and spending 10-15 minutes here

Wat Nong Waeng Phra Aram Luang is a famous temple in Khon Kaen province and is recognized as a royal temple. It’s a large temple with many parking lot available for visitors. Tourists are expected to dress modestly and respectfully, ensuring shoulders and knees are covered. Women are not allowed to wear short skirts above the knee or sleeveless tops. Before entering the pagoda, which houses sacred relics, all visitors are required to remove their shoes. The temple provides cloth bags for carrying shoes inside, as theft has occurred in the past. Visitors are advised to place their shoes in the provided bags and carry them while exploring the pagoda. The ground floor of the pagoda serves as a space for making merit and features several donation boxes. The interior is intricately decorated and visually stunning. Tourists can also climb to the top of the pagoda, which has nine floors in total. The stairs are steep, so caution is advised. From the ninth floor, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Khon Kaen city.

This is my 2nd time here and it is one of the most beautiful temples in Khon Kaen. There is a stair access to the 9 levels of pagoda but it might be too steep for some people. It was very crowded when we visited.

One of my favourite Temples in Thailand and definitely in the city of Khon Kaen. This Temple is a Khon Kaen land mark and tourist destination. It hosts 9 levels each with artworks, artefacts, shrines, and information much like a museum. Each level represents the ascension to enlightenment and there is a 360 degree view of the surrounding city on every level. The ground floor is the main floor where locals come to greet the monks and pray. I really like this Temple because of its beautiful architecture and surrounding grounds, the view of the city from each level, the artworks, artefacts and information scattered all around. Artworks include paintings that depict traditional every day Thai life, correct behaviour as taught by the scriptures as well as the story of the life of the The Buddha carved into the doors and window shutters. It is easy to spend a whole day here getting lost wandering around discovering new area's while viewing the surrounding city from one of the best vantage points in Khon Kaen.

Wat Nong Wang (วัดหนองแวง) is Khon Kaen city’s biggest, most important temple, and also its one must-see tourist attraction. It was founded in 1789, the same year the city was settled, though there are no old buildings left. It became a royal temple in 1984. About 55 monks and 225 novices live here. It’s ordinary in most regards, except for the stunning nine-story Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakhon, a stupa unlike any other in Thailand. Many of the links below take you to other articles explaining the art in detail. Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakhon The ground floor is open 6am-5pm and floors 2-9 are open 8am-4.30pm. Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakhon stupa was built to celebrate both the king’s golden jubilee (celebration of 50 years on the throne) and the two hundredth birthday of Khon Kaen city. It is 50m long on the side and 80m tall and has nine floors because he was King Rama 9. Construction was started in 1990 and it was inaugurated in 1996. The idea for the stupa came from the highly respected Luang Paw Koon Kantigo, the then abbot. The design was inspired by the Eiffel Tower and the Shwedagon Pagoda, both of which he saw while travelling. The most important of the abbot’s ideas, however, is the stupa’s curved shape, chosen to be that made by a hanging fishing net – called a catenary curve in physics. People’s ashes are kept in the stupas at each of the four corners and the naga-topped wall around the stupa. Before construction, when this area was still rice field, a naga came to tell a high-ranking monk in a dream that there was a naga breathing hole where the stupa was going to be built. So, the stupa was built about 10m from the original intended location and these naga were incorporated into the design. The shape of the top part of the stupa was inspired by Phra That Kham Kaen stupa (notice the redented corners) north of the city and has a golden-colored vine pattern similar to that on the very important Phra That Phanom stupa in Nakhon Phanom province. Ground Floor The temple’s center of activity is the stupa’s ground floor, which has a Buddha relic inside a chamber with a nine-spired roof. Next to it is a life-like resin statue of Luang Paw Koon Kantigo, the previous abbot (Unusual, because these are normally made after an abbot has died, but this one was put here many years before.), and in the back is a copy of the Chinnarat Buddha (from Phitsanulok); two copies of Phra Kaew (the Emerald Buddha), one green and one orange; and a baby Buddha. They are facing west, rather than the usual east, because the original Chinnarat Buddha also faces west. Along the northern wall is a table with 108 alms bowls (for donating 108 coins) and another full of daily Buddhas. The number 108 was important in ancient India and so it is found in many Buddhist stories, most importantly the 108 signs of perfection to show that he was the Buddha – this is also why there are often 108 symbols on the soles of many large Buddha footprints.

The main Temple of Khonkaen called Wat - Nong - Wang (in Thai). There is 9 floor with closely pyramid shape. All decoration is very Thai, which beautiful, charming and richy by the golden colour of gold. The activity is walk around the floor then step up to the top of temple. The location is beside of kaennakorn swamp that very massive impress by the top view from the top of Nongwang temple.

As a non believer I can review just the multi storey building. Once you get the last floor you will see an amazing 360 degrees view. The stairs are not easy to climb because the steps are high and narrow.

A world class football arena. We came to visit the interior of the stadium when no game was hosted. It’s an unique experience to explore the unseen parts of a stadium.

By far, the best football stadium in Thailand. It usually has a superb crowd who are very knowledgeable and make a lot of noise. If you want to see a really good game of football, I suggest you visit the stadium. It also does tours and has food courts, and an interesting park nearby

Big stadium in Buriram, owned by Buriram United. It has quite good facilities such as hotel, large parking area, and merchandise mega store. It is located in the same complex as the Thunder Castle heritage building. So you can feel unique experinece while visiting this place

Got taken into the stadium where the fans sit. Two minutes later the guide (who never talked to me) told me it was time to leave. I asked about seeing the dressing rooms which he said no at first but then when I explained it's part of the tour, he quickly ushered me in and out. Came to Buriram just for the stadium tour and it was over within literally 5 minutes. So disappointing.

This place is fantastic! Really enjoyed our tour of the rooms and facilities. We have now been to quite a few football matches there, the atmosphere is electric and the chanting, music, and drums are incredible! The home team has a HUGE following, the visiting teams are usually met with an almost deathly silence 🤫 😆

That's amazing! The weather was lovely, perfect for a leisurely walk around the spacious 100-rai property. The grounds are beautifully preserved, with different rooms showcasing the architecture. At the back, there’s a massive tree believed to be over 400 years old. Admission: 200 baht for foreigners, 20 baht for Thai nationals, and free for children under 12. Parking: Available near the entrance, fits around 15 cars. Museum: Air-conditioned and pleasantly cool inside. Restrooms: Very clean. It’s absolutely worth bringing children to experience and appreciate ancient Khmer art. A truly valuable and worthwhile visit! ❤️🙏

I love these ancient temples. This one doesn't disappoint and is very impressive. You can tell that there has been a lot of effort put into it and I think more restoration and access to closed off areas would enhance the place more.

Phimai Historical Park is a truly amazing and worthwhile visit, often compared to a more peaceful version of Angkor Wat. This beautiful example of Khmer architecture is a must-see for anyone in the region. The 200 Baht ticket is great value, granting you access to the park's well-preserved structures. While the park is generally open until 6:00 PM daily, be sure to check for special events or festivals, as these can include extended evening hours for unique experiences like a light-and-sound show.

The Architecture is remarkable, though parts of the site are poorly lit in the night. The cultural show is phenomenal. Highly recommended.

A revered place for Thai people to celebrate a warrior woman who protected Korat from Lao invaders.

A nice area, set by the historic city moat and reconstructed West Gate of possible 17th century origin under King Narai the Great. An elegant modern statue of the celebrated Governor's wife under HM King Rama III, credited with a saviour's role in thwarting Anouvong's invasion 200 years ago. The events doomed the Vientiane Laotian kingdom as a last vestige of Laan Sang on the Korat Plateau and cemented Isaan into Siam, for which it has much to be thankful.

Important monument in Korat city. When u been Korat until you’ve paid respect to Grandma Mo also known Ya Mo (as Suranaree is known locally). At night really peaceful and Monday - Sunday Open 24 hours . The recommend to visit and pay respect .

Interesting monument. It will be very crowded since it fits right on the street. Parking is almost difficult to do it's better to use a taxi to the monument and dropping you off and picking you up after you finish business way with Ya Mo. Everyone who travel to this city should go there pay the respect to Thao suranari monument for you blessful life, I recommend, at least one time of your whole life.

If you like to picture with flower this place is for you. Parking are available at their parking area for both personal car and tourist bus.

Arrived and paid for the promotion price to get into the garden. Here is the place where you can take your time, feel the breeze , smell the scent of flowers blossom. Beautiful and perfect place to take pictures with flowers. There are trams offering shuttle services between zones. It only opens for one month a year, which is in December for tourists. Overall a pleasant experience and really enjoyable. December 2023

This farm is amazing. Not only beautiful flowers and rice fields you can take photos with, you can also learn the way of life of Northeastern 'Esan' Thai people. This place exhibits about the Thai rices and silks. You can learn the silkworm's circle of life and how people got the silk thread from the silkworm's cocoons.

A very nice place to visit as a couple or family. Lots of flowers and pretty scenery. There's a tram ride that takes you around the farm. You can get off the tram to take a picture and catch the next tram. Food inside the farm is very very expensive. I recommend getting lunch and snacks at the entrance. The ticket to get in is kinda pricey.

Big area to walk. We come in the morning around 11am and find that the place is a little too hot to enjoy walking around. There is quite a lots of variety of flower and plants in the farm but feels a little too artificial to be a real farm. More like a tourist attraction.

Nothing much here to explore. Stack of pumpkin hill for people to take photo. Area very big, need shuttle bus from point to point. There is no queue system for the shuttle bus, everyone will need to run and rush, saw family with elderly got hard time to get into the shuttle bus.

Beautiful park - pristine and well worth visiting. Be mindful that as a foreigner, you will need to pay the tourist price for entry (400 bhat). Not a big deal but worth noting. Also be mindful that there are a lot of unmarked speed bumps so keep an eye out for these. Highly recommended

The National park is very beautiful. A wide open large space with a road running all the way through it. On our visit we didn’t get to see elephants but we saw large healthy dear and monkeys carrying babies. There are amazing view points and also camping points. You can also drive right through the park to an amazing waterfall. A very worthwhile visit. 40 Bhat for local people and 300 Bhat for foreigners. Still money worth spending.

Huge national park with many interesting animals. I'd recommend to book a safari with a guide, because otherwise you might drive/walk straight past the most interesting things without even noticing. Also you are not allowed to walk into the jungle on your own, which makes sense because although beautiful it can also be dangerous. Also make sure you bring insect spray and leech protection socks. And don't forget to respect nature.

Beautiful place with lots of wildlife. Although it was a very short wildlife photography trip for me, I got some wonderful photographs of wild elephant herd, sambar deers, barking deers, and pig-tailed macaques. Definitely coming back for a longer visit next time.

It's really worth a visit. Just watch out for wildlife if you were to drive after dawn. There are so many interesting spots, day and night, to enjoy the nature. If you are not really into camping, stay on the lower areas of the park. There are many fancy hotels and houses to choose from. More importantly, it's much easier to eat with varieties of foods. Just be aware that prices may be similar to Bangkok, or some places are even priceier.

We visit the khao yai national Park yesterday I search on khao yai national Park website the entry fees for foreigners is 200 baht even on the Internet it says 200 baht but they charge us 400 baht per person we are the group of many people so it become double the price that what we expected this is very disappointed Dual pricing scam for expats 40thb for Thai 400thb for foreigners even if you have a work permit ranger staff at the entrance told us to leave if we aren't happy paying 10 times more than locals. This is the worst experience and worst attitude we faced and we didn't see much wildlife in day time At night safari we see some but it's not worth it to pay 10× extra for that

Tickets are 120฿ per person — drive your own car in and explore 4 main spots between 1:30–3:30 PM. • Stop 1 is mainly for feeding animals (not photo-friendly and requires extra fee). • Stop 2 is a stunning flower field with wide open skies and constant cool breeze — perfect for photos (but bring a hat, it’s sunny!). • Stop 3 is where you can feed adorable animals. A basket of treats (milk bottles, veggies, etc.) costs 140฿ and is more than enough. After that, cool down with their 99฿ coconut ice cream cone (topped with beans!) — super refreshing, but melts fast in the wind. • There are also 4 daily buffalo shows — free to watch, though it gets crowded and hard to snap a clear pic.

The farm has four exploration points. First, you get to explore a big field and interact with the sheep. You can also feed them. Second, you explore a field of colorful flowers. Third, you can milk cows, interact with rabbits, sheep, and geese, and play fun mini-games. You can also rent a bike to go around. Fourth, it is a museum where you can learn about cowboy culture and the Thai forest. Their ice cream is delicious. It has a soft gelato-like consistency and not-too-sweet flavors.

First time to Pak Chong and Farm Chok Chai was a highlight and my family loved it very much!! Huge Sunflower farm and feeding animals were nice and really made us come close to nature! Special indeed.

One of the historic farm in Thailand. We have visited this place during our journey back to Bangkok. With just 120 Baht per person we drove thru the farm by our car. We also ordered a "recommended" hamburger menu that in my idea was a bit overpriced (410 Baht) taken into account the quality and quantity compared to what usually we get in Europe.

Visited in December 2024 for a family trip. It is a very big farm. Paid for entrance to drive in with our driver. The drive is just a small loop. Went in the afternoon as my driver said that's the time he could bring us there. Totally wrong. I suggest you go in the early morning. No cowboy show during my visit. Just some sheep and cows. They will display 2 dairy cows for you to try milking but you need to pay. So be prepared to pay at every station. I can't even go around the farm on their tractor because they claimed my ticket was not included. I wasn't even sure what was included in my ticket as I can't speak or understand Thai. I just paid what I was told and went for it. I spent only 30 minutes there and I left. A total waste of time. It only looks fantastic on advertisements but the real thing doesn't match up at all. There are better ones.

I’ve been coming to this place for many years. Chokchai burgers are fresh & juicy, the meat is delicious, recently I’m skipping the buns. The staff in the little booth is always very friendly and helpful. I’m looking forward to my next stopover

Absolutely incredible experience at PB Valley! I ordered the braised beef and a calamari side, and both dishes were out of this world. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, rich in flavour, and perfectly balanced. The calamari was fresh, crispy, and a great complement to the meal. The restaurant is set right in a beautiful vineyard, which adds to the charm. Our group, though we didn’t drink, bought a bunch of grape juices — and they were excellent. Everyone was happy with the food, and I also tried my friend’s roasted chicken, which was delicious. The atmosphere was warm, and the service attentive and friendly. I can’t recommend this place enough — if you’re in Khao Yai, make sure PB Valley is on your list!

Very charming winery with a lovely view restaurant. Moderate prices for great food and yummy wine. Nice gift shop and can buy wine and spirits there. Locally made products. The staff is friendly and attentive. Had no time for wine tour but will be back. Easy parking. Lovely mountains with water views of vineyard.

The vineyard is a gem in the Khaoyai National Park. Beautifully landscaped with several out buildings including an excellent restaurant. We also did the wine tasting. I would definitely recommend it.

Truly a new experience. Joined their 350 baht wine tour at 09.15 am time. Got to see their vineyard, grape picking, and the production line. You can also got 3 glass of wine tasting. Very worth it !

Visited PB Valley Winery in Khao Yai last Saturday. The place has a great ambiance surrounded by beautiful greenery. As it’s off-season, there weren’t many grapes on the vines, but our guide explained everything perfectly about the vineyard and wine-making process. If you enjoy nature and a calm, peaceful environment, it’s definitely worth a visit.

We have afternoon meal at restaurant, atmosphere & food are excellence. Very good thing is that it has no break between lunch and dinner.

We missed the last tour but had a lovely time dining on the restaurant. All food tasted great! Ambience is perfect. We had a lovely time. Don’t miss out on their fresh grape juice too! 🍇

Went around 1pm and it was very hot. Recommend going in the morning or in the evenings. I felt lot of spiritual energy here specially around the Chinese temple. Would recommend going here and giving merits to all the temple spirits

The pink Ganesha has a charming presence. The area around it is lined with various shops, making it lively on weekends. In front of the statue, you’ll find three mice. Since you’re here, don’t miss the chance to whisper your wishes into the ear of one of them.

A very interesting and unique temple. spread over a large area, this temple seems to have a Chinese theme from the type of the decoration and design. Car park is free and available in many areas around the temple. There’s also a 7Eleven, lots of small shops and stalls selling various items from fruits and vegetables, to sun-dried fish and other stuff. There are also few small restaurants as well as larger ones by the river. Many people come to visit and perform rituals and take photos. Enjoyable and nice.

We came here on 5 October 2025. Perfect weather today as the rain ended. A great place to visit. Nice temple area. Toilets and car park spots are available. A huge market area is here too. Many local produce. Affordable fruits and vegetables. We can come back here again 😃

Visiting Wat Saman Rattanaram was a truly unforgettable experience! This temple, located in Chachoengsao, is home to the largest Pink Ganesha statue in Thailand, and it’s absolutely breathtaking in person. The giant reclining Ganesha—standing at about 16 meters high and 24 meters long—radiates positivity and calmness. Unlike traditional depictions, this Ganesha is painted pink, symbolizing kindness, compassion, and the removal of obstacles in a gentle way. What makes this temple even more fascinating is how it blends Hindu, Buddhist, and Chinese cultural influences in one place. Surrounding the main statue are numerous smaller deities, including the mouse statues believed to carry wishes directly to Ganesha—each color of mouse represents a different day of the week and has a unique spiritual meaning! The atmosphere here is vibrant yet peaceful. You’ll find local food stalls, souvenir shops, and floating markets nearby, making it a wonderful place to spend a few hours. The temple is well-maintained, colorful, and full of life—a perfect reflection of Thai spirituality and creativity. The Pink Ganesha holds a rosary, a broken tusk, and a sweet (laddu)—each symbolizing wisdom, perseverance, and life’s sweetness. Devotees whisper their wishes into the ears of Ganesha’s mice statues to send their prayers directly to him. The temple also features statues of Chinese gods, the Hindu god Vishnu, and the Buddha, showcasing Thailand’s harmony between different faiths. On weekends, you can enjoy a floating market and boat rides along the river nearby. Overall, Wat Saman Rattanaram is not just a temple—it’s a cultural experience. A well known Buddhist temple on the river. Has many activities there and nice market selling wide range of goods and souvenirs. We just went for a quick visit in the morning and not for any special occasion.

Great site to visit! Not super busy during the weekday. I would say, it gets really hot in the afternoon so I would suggest going early morning or late evening. Wear walking shoes because there are several steps, but you can also get dropped off at Gate 4, to avoid the long stairway. We walked the stairs up and had our driver take us back.

Visited in March 2025, the ruins themselves are quite small, not much information given about them, only takes 10 minutes to walk around and glance inside (nothing of note inside). Main attraction of course are the monkeys, pretty cool to see them around the temple ruins. In my experience not aggressive at all as some have suggested, mainly ignore you or if anything are shy, tend to run away if you're within a metre of them. They give you a stick at the entrance, hope nobody actually beats them with it...

Cool ancient ruins of a Buddhist temple. Popular IG spot for both visitors and locals of Lopburi. Not necessary to pay the entrance fee as you can see it from the road, unless you want to pay 5x the price as locals to have a closer experience with the monkeys.

An ancient Khmer-style temple and one of Lopburi’s most iconic landmarks. The three connected prangs represent the Hindu Trimurti — Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva — and were later transformed into a Buddhist sanctuary. Not as many monkeys as before, since most of them have been relocated by the municipality, but you can still see some around the area. It’s now much calmer and easier to walk around without worrying about mischievous monkeys. We visited around 4:30 PM, and the temple looked stunning in the soft golden light. The weather was pleasant and not too hot — it gave the place such a cozy, peaceful feeling. The entrance fee for foreigners is 80 THB. Parking is available nearby, and the site is easy to explore. Take less than 30 mins to stroll around and take a bunch of photos. A wonderful stop to admire ancient Khmer architecture, history, and serenity — especially at sunset. 🌅

The most popular landmark of Lopburi and the most lovely animal of the province, monkeys. Went there in May 2025 and they said that most of monkeys were relocated. The monkeys are really cute but they can be a little bit snatchers. You should be extra careful and listen to the officers. Keep all your accessories in your bags. All of the small and shiny things should be put away from their sight including glasses, phones, car keys, keychains, bracelet, necklace and earings. Once you loose it, you never get it back. Please love the monkeys and be kind to them.

One of the famous landmark in Lopburi province. It was a special place for me to visit. The weather was awesome no crowd at all. They take care of the place in a good way. The ticket price is 80THB for foreigners. A good place to visit if you love history.

A well-known temple for praying for children and fertility. Many people visit to worship, and those who’ve had their prayers answered come back to offer toys and children’s clothes in gratitude. It’s lively and full of energy — one of the most charming temples in Ayutthaya.

Founded in 1357, this is an active temple with resident Buddhist monks. There is a large white reclining Buddha in the temple. Many Buddhists come to pay respects at this historic site. Visitors can climb up a flight of stairs into the main temple complex where they can pray for good fortune by dropping a coin into the wishing well. The bell shaped chedi is the main attraction in this beautiful ancient temple.

This place is very beautiful. The pagoda is very big. It is an old temple. There is a big reclining Buddha and a small reclining Buddha. It is charming, shady, and peaceful. Many people come here. There is a lot of parking. There are many restaurants outside the temple. I like this place.

Spectacular. The Buddhas guarding the main temple are truly impressive, as are the many others surrounding the principal tower. It’s definitely worth climbing to the top to appreciate the entire complex from above.

We visited Dream World with a Super Visa pass — perfect for kids but equally fun for adults! 🎉 The park has around 42 exciting rides, including the Hurricane and Vikings (my favorites!). Some rides had a small queue (10–15 mins), but totally worth it. Tip: Take breaks between rides to avoid motion sickness — doing rides back-to-back made us feel a bit sick. 🤢 One of the highlights was Snow Town ❄️ — our first time experiencing snow! No queue at all, and we were given jackets and boots before entering. Inside, it was freezing cold, and we had so much fun making snow figures, catching falling snow, and taking photos in beautiful snowy spots. 📸 The park is super clean, full of food options, shops, and fun activities. Once inside, we felt like kids again! 👶✨ Highly recommend for families, groups, and adults who love childlike fun. ⭐ Rating: 5/5 – A must-visit in Thailand!

Nice place to visit for rides and a full on theme park vibe. Ideal for kids and adults both. Has some exciting rides with thrills. A decent lunch buffet can also be purchased but plenty of other stalls to buy sbacks and food from as well. Weekends are crowded. Ticket counter opens by 10am. Make sure to be there on time and start with the rides located at the back of the park so that you can start before the crowd comes. Rides seem a bit old but maintaned well. Best to buy tickets online as the price is better. For Snow town jackets and boots are provided. Overall fun experience for a good value.

We just spent the most incredible day at Bangkok Dream World and I cannot recommend it enough for families! Forget any outdated reviews you might have read; our experience was nothing short of magical from start to finish. We visited on a sunny Monday, and while there was a cheerful buzz of energy, the lines for most rides were incredibly manageable. The moment you walk through the entrance and see the iconic castle and colorful storybook buildings, you feel transported to a real-life fairy tale. The park is immaculately clean, and the staff throughout were consistently friendly, helpful, and full of smiles, which really added to the positive atmosphere. There was the perfect mix of gentle rides, like the spinning cups and the delightful boat ride through Snow Town, and more thrilling adventures for our eldest, who braved the Viking ship and the super fun log flume—be prepared to get wet! The absolute highlight for all of us was the suspended roller coaster. It was an adrenaline-pumping blast, smooth and exhilarating, with fantastic views of the park. We also loved the cable car; it was a peaceful way to see the entire park from above and plan our next move. We met several costumed characters who were playful and engaging, and the photo opportunities around every corner are endless. We enjoyed a great lunch at one of the food courts, with a wide variety of tasty and affordable Thai and international options to keep everyone happy. Bangkok Dream World far exceeded our expectations. It’s the perfect size to explore in a day without feeling rushed, it’s beautifully maintained, and it offers a wonderful balance of excitement and charm. It’s a hidden gem that provided us with priceless family memories. We will absolutely be back! The Buddha head in the tree roots is very unique and even more impressive in real life than in photos. It’s a beautiful spot to take pictures, learn about the past, and just enjoy some quiet moments away from the busy city. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the most famous temples in Ayutthaya, renowned for the most photographed Buddha head encased within the tree roots. Legend has it that a thief had intended to sell the Buddha head but was either forced to abandon it at the spot or the head was too heavy for him to carry further away, and so he had to leave it there. Over time, tree roots began to envelop the Buddha's head, and hence, this peculiar and unique landmark was formed. One can pray to the Buddha Head, but you must kneel and remove your shoes to show your respect.

A must visit in Ayutthaya City. It costs 80 baht for foreigners and 10 baht for Thai people to enter. The main attraction is the Busddha in the tree, but there are plenty of chedi, prang and other Buddha statues about. Talk a walk around Thai history and enjoy.

We visited Wat Mahathat as part of a group tour to the ancient city of Ayutthaya. It is a fantastic place that is full of history. It was the capital prior to Bangkok but was completely burned down by an invasion in 1767. This place just oozes history and it is a great day trip on a visit to Bangkok. It's about an hour or hour and a half by car or there are many daily trains from Bangkok that take one hour and are very cheap. This is also where you can see the buddha head that has been surrounded by the roots of the sacred banyan tree. You should definitely try to make the time if you're in the area. There are a number of other sites only five to ten minutes away also.

The remnants of the Ayutthya Kingdom. The Ayutthya Kingdom was one of the most thriving dynasties of South east asia before it was attacked by the Burmese Konboung dynasty. Wat Mahathat is one such remnant of the Ayutthya dynasty. The entry ticket is 50 baht for non thai national and dress code mandates covered shoulder and knees. There are a few gifts shops right beside the ticket counter where one can rent a scarf or trousers. The place is spotless clean and serene. One can feel the calmness and peace in the air. The place definitely lives upto the hype and is a must visit spot in Ayutthya. The Buddha head in the tree is the top attraction here. But the crowd here is well managed and everyone gets a chance to take a pic. Do carry umbrella and water while visiting. Late afternoon is the best time yo visit

What a truly remarkable historical site. The temple ruins are incredibly awe-inspiring and evoke a deep sense of wonder. It feels like the perfect place to capture beautiful memories and photos. Visiting here is both uplifting and soothing to the spirit. The sunlight and the boiling hot weather in the middle of the day might be the only downside of this exễprience but they also give you an umbrella to make up for that

Amazeballs! Simply stunning, by far best cultural landmark I have visited in TH! It might may not have the grandeur of a golden temple or palace, but has it respectfully place of significance in Thai and human history.

Beautiful ruins of an ancient temple in Ayutthaya. Easy day trip from Bangkok by train or private car. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Entrance fee can be combined with the other temples for 300 Baht all together. Most of the smaller temples are free to enter.

Overall, I do enjoy everything in Ayutthaya.But just hope there are more explanations and not just a place for taking instragammable pictures. Hopefully, the authorities can make it more educational with better quality explanations. Otherwise, history will be forgotten for such an amazing place.

Part of Ayutthaya Historical Park, this ruined, wrenchingly beautiful Buddhist temple is an unseo site, with a central 115 feet prang, four smaller prangs, and eight Chedi-shaped chapels, on a rectangular platform. Some dos and don'ts: Taboos: food drink smoking climbing scratching sitting bottle of water is allowed tho. Outfit taboos: strapless tank top wide neck crop top shorts, low waist pants miniskirt No, you don't need to take your shoes off. This Temple was built in 1630 by Siam's King, Prasat Thong (1599-1655), as a memorial to his mother's residence. It was his first Temple during his reign. The name meant Temple of long reign and glorious era. Located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, outside Ayutthaya island, this site a major tourist attraction. Many young women (perhaps locals?) rent the traditional outfits from many shops across the street, and use the park as a background for photos. Many of our tour mates squeezed in for a show, and they politely welcomed/tolerated us.
