Nestled in the charming town of Pandan in Antique, Malumpati Health Spring & Tourist Resort is a beloved eco-tourist destination renowned for its serene cold-spring pools set amidst a lush tropical forest. Visitors are drawn to the crystal-clear freshwater pools and the well-preserved natural surroundings, which are said to offer health benefits. Great experience every time I visit the place. And they always improve the facilities and guests houses where you can check in if you wanna stay overnight. Also if you happen to come by, try their tubing services on the blue lagoon
Pan J — Google review
The 4-hour journey from Iloilo to Malumpati was absolutely worth it! Our water tubing guide was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable, sharing valuable insights about the area. We were deeply grateful for their warm hospitality. The natural spring water was remarkably sweet and pristine - likely one of the cleanest in the Philippines. I feel truly fortunate to have experienced this hidden gem!
Teena C — Google review
Last year, I and my family went here for a vacation. It was a memorable experience. I could consider this spot as fascinating where everybody could really enjoy and have fun.
Sarah E — Google review
The water here is awesome, super clear and cold, perfect for a hot day! It's a nice, chill spot to hang out with friends or family. We did the river tubing and had a blast. Definitely recommend checking it out!
Val T — Google review
I visited this location last year in November. Entrance is 70 pesos for domestic tourist and 30 pesos for the environmental fee. I only tried the water tubing for 250 pesos. Because I was a walk in visitor with no prior accommodation, I left my things at the tourism booth. It was somewhat secured since the tourism officer is always in her station. There was a little trek involved going to the Blue Lagoon where my water tubing starts. The ride was kinda underwhelming. There will be some mini falls along the way but not as exciting as in Tibiao or in Saranggani. It was a chill ride, maybe it was not my cup of tea. There is also a fee for using the shower room at 10 pesos. Overall, it was okay. Note that there are a lot of people in the area during weekends, mostly Korean tourist who came from Boracay.
Elmer J — Google review
This place was good for family or group bonding. If you want to experience cold spring this is the best place to visit.
Jeff G — Google review
Visited this wonderful place as a sidetrip destination on our way home from Boracay to Iloilo. Highly recommended, a hidded gem up in the mountains of Pandan, Antique. The staff are all very nice and accommodating, specially the guides for the tubing. Tubing was for 250pesos per person, this includes your safety gear (Helmet and Life vest).
Silver S — Google review
December 23, 2022 It was a good place for a cold dive and swim. We tried their Water Tubing activity and the staffs that were assigned to us were all kind, informative, and funny. Good photographers too! There were stores in there and cottages to rent out, even floaters. It's also good that they have signal there for cellular data. And it's not a hard place to go to, the road on the way to the place was clear and cemented. We didn't encounter problems on our way in and out.

Bakhawan Ecopark

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled in a mango forest, Bakhawan Ecopark is a renowned destination in Aklan, Philippines. Spanning 220 hectares, it stands as a successful mangrove reforestation project and serves as a shield against natural disasters for the local community. Visitors can explore the expansive mangrove forest via well-maintained boardwalks and partake in guided tours to learn about the vital role of mangroves in preserving marine ecosystems.
I recently visited this eco park with my mother, a senior citizen, and while the scenery was absolutely superb, there are a few things to keep in mind. The best time to go is either very early in the morning or late in the afternoon, as the sun can be extremely hot during midday. While the park offers a great adventure and a peaceful 1.2km walk surrounded by nature, it may not be the best option for kids or seniors. The pathways, made of bamboo bridges, require maintenance—some nails were sticking out, which could be a safety concern. That said, if you're up for an adventure and a quiet escape into nature, this place is still worth a visit. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and take extra caution while walking!
Joanna L — Google review
This Ecopark is a great way to see the mangrove project & learn a bit about it. The bamboo walkway is a bit rough in places, but maintenance was ongoing while we were there. A bit pricey for foreigners at 120 pesos a person, but a nice way to kill time in Kalibo.
Carly T — Google review
Very nice and quiet place perfect for nature lovers. Staffs are very accommodating. The pathways were a bit worn down but its walkable. Paid ₱150/person for non-Aklanon.
Reuel G — Google review
Board / Bamboo walk wasn't very safe, had a lot of holes in it. Trash also along The path In the mangroves. Just needs a little TLC, and it would be a great place.
David L — Google review
Very nice place. If you want to breath a fresh air.. this one of the best place. A bird will also welcome you to the place. There is a fee, If i remember it correctly it was less than php100 only.
Paul F — Google review
Great place to visit for nature lovers. We enjoyed the trek and the scenery.
Marcus C — Google review
Relaxing walk with the nature. Just be careful on the wooden path... You won't get wet unless you run on the wooden trail and splishy-splashy on those water puddles. We stayed dry throughout the journey.
Ralphuu A — Google review
A serene place to relax, reminisce and just talk with your favorite person. A place that is worth the visit. Walking on the bamboo bridge and enjoying the majestic view of the mangrove forests is worth your time it can help you to recharge and regain peace after the long hustle week.

We used Southwest Tour for our transportation in Boracay, and they exceeded our expectations from start to finish. From the moment we arrived at the airport, their staff was organized, friendly, and easy to spot. The transfer from Caticlan to our resort was smooth and well-coordinated, including the van, boat, and island shuttle everything was punctual and comfortable. What stood out the most was how stress-free the entire experience was. They took care of all the logistics, so we didn’t have to worry about lining up for tickets or figuring out where to go. The staff were courteous, helped with our luggage, and made us feel taken care of every step of the way. If you’re heading to Boracay and want a hassle-free, reliable transfer service, I highly recommend SouthWest Tour It made a huge difference in starting and ending our trip on the right note!

Malalison Island

Island
Nature & Parks
Malalison Island, located in the Philippines, is a small inhabited island known for its stunning white-sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters. To reach the island, visitors can arrange a boat ride from Carabao Island to Caticlan Port and then take a bus to Culasi, followed by a short 15-20 minute boat ride to Malalison Island.
A beautiful island to do a day trip or even an overnight trip. I joined a group of Filipinos and we had guides who showed us a hike through the village and over the island to a secluded beach. Then we took boats back to the first beach to swim more. Also met some lovely homestay owners where I would stay next time! Just another gem in the Philippines that not many people know. It's 100 each way on the boat from Culasi if you join other people and 25 peso terminal fee.
Paul B — Google review
From a natural point of view the island is STUNNING! However, like all the places we’ve been to here in the Philippines, it’s full of trash, on the beach and in the sea. What a pity 😞😞 We paid 1000 PHP to go there and back from Culise. The village on the island is very poor and dirty.
COSTANZA S — Google review
Amazing Island for relaxation and vacation. It relieves any stress from work. Also, it has a picturesque 360 view of the whole island when you hike on the mountain (don't know its name). Love the beach and sandbar. However, there are times that they experience daily power outage. Great for picture taking! Photos provided for your reference. Hope this help you 😉🏖 🌴

Great place.. .good accomodation.. .I suggest you go there 1pm, overnight so that you will be able to exp sunset and sunrise.. .I suggest the month of June and July.. .pitcher plants are already growing..lots of fish sold in a cheaper price. .you must try BARANGON isda sa bato "sugba". .make sure to buy the fresh one.. .dont have a strong smell..
Chabilita P — Google review
Such a beautiful place! I traveled 3hrs from Caticlan Port just to see this beauty and it’s so worth it! I think this was the cheapest tour I ever had. Boat ride sharing with other passengers is only 200pesos roundtrip. And tour guide fee is only 250pesos for 7pax already. I came here as a solo traveler and got lucky that there were other tourists that day that I can share expenses with from boat ride to tour guide fee. How to get here. From Caticlan Port ride a bus going to Culasi, Antique Php209 pesos - 3hr bus ride (lots of bus stops). Get off at Culasi Bus Stop and walk towards the tourism office 3-min away from the highway just behind the Municipal Hall. Pay environmental fee at Tourism Office, they will arrange the boat ride for you going to Culasi Island. Rt boat ride 200 per pax, max of 5pax. Solo boat ride is 1,000 pesos.
Marieshiel E — Google review
Has a long stretch of fine white sand beaches. Has crystal clear and cool water. The wind is cool and fresh. Trekking is simple with a 360 degrees view of the island and Culasi. Locals are friendly. Affordable accommodation. Just so you know, it is considered a fishermen island because most of the resident’s are in fishing as their livelihood. Its breathtaking beauty captured the attention of the travelers after being hit by the Typhoon Yolanda. It is Panay's next frontier because of its fine white sand beaches, crystal clear waters with a diversity of aquatic flora and fauna – it is truly a perfect diving paradise. 10/2018
Darwin D — Google review
Crystal clear beach, clean cottages, very welcoming locals. Aside from the beach, make sure to go on a hike to see the beauty of the whole island. You can find pitcher plants just beside the walkway and trails.
Joseph B — Google review
15-30 minutes bangka ride away from majnland Culasi, Mararison or Malalison Island is perfect for those who wish to stat away from the busy city. Only several homestays are available if you wish to stay overnight in the island. Electricity is also limited. It’s only available around 5pm to 12midnight.

Bugtong Bato Falls

Waterfalls
Bugtong Bato Falls is a stunning 7-tiered waterfall located in Tibiao, Antique. The falls cascade into the Tibiao stream from a basin, offering visitors the chance to take a refreshing dip in its crystal-clear and cold waters. Accessible via a short van ride from Culasi, Antique followed by a motorcycle ride to Barangay Sitio, this natural wonder is worth the journey.
If your chasing waterfalls, this needs to be part of your list. This is one of the amazing place Tibiao, Antique could offer. With its crystal clear cold water which really gives you chill from your dip. Just hang out, relax, feel and wander in this amazing one of a kind nature experience. #PanayEskapo
Franz I — Google review
The walk is pretty tough especially if you are first time hiking but it really worth it, the falls is pretty a lot of pretty green scenery you really feel the forest, pretty recommended for family, friends outing
Real A — Google review
If you want to go to bugtong bato falls, it is located in Tibiao, antique. We went there from Culasi, Antique for a 15 minute ride using van from the terminal. We paid the Van around 20 pesos. Once we reached the intersection, there is a terminal of single motorcycles called habal habal. The cost for ride going to a sub part of barangay called sitio is 7 pesos per person. If you are 2 packs for the motorcycle, it would be 50 pesos per person. Once you have arrived in their sitio, go straight to the tourism desk to ask for tour guide. It is a must to have a tour guide because going to the falls is strenous and there are different paths which you could be lost aside for safety reasons. We trek to the mountainside based upon our endurance for about 30 mins. You need to have a staff or pole as you go along into the mountains because the roads are rough and steep also there are hurdles when you climb up and when you trek down. Once you have arrived the falls, there are 3 falls. The first one and the third one have deep basin which the water level is high above the head while the second falls is just shallow. You need pack some bottled water and pack some food also because theres no food and breverage kiosk. Also keep in mind that you must not throw your garbage elsewhere. There are no restrooms or private cubicle to change your clothes, so better you have a big towel to change your west garments after you took bath in the falls because you are going into virgin falls with touch of nature , not a sophisticated and resort theme like waterfalls. Intuition and resourcefulness are essential. The cost for the tour guide is 250 pesos as for this date or if you like your tour guide, you could give him or her some tip aside from the pay. Also you need to pay the environmental fee. When you return back home, you will pay another 20 pesos for the motorcycle going to the middle intersection boundary between the sitio and from the terminal then another 75 pesos per person or 50 pesos if you are 2 people riding in one motorcyle going back from where you started. Best season to travel to bugtong bato falls is during rainy seasom to appreciate its wayer flowing. It is also good during dry season but during dry season or hot season, the water flows less from its top. Best time to go there and take photos is around 8am in the morning or 3pm in the afternoon. Much better if you have a car or van going to the sitio than commute because when you go back from the sitio, you need to wait for a couple of minutes because there are times that there are no motocycles available.
Jay V — Google review
You need to walk a little but there will be a tour guide. The water is really cold. It feels clean to take a bath. The waterfall pool is shaded by trees, so you can take a bath anytime of the day.
Kamia E — Google review
Super scenic views, good place to relax, and I love the very cold water from the falls.

#LetsGuide #antique #itsmorefuninthephilippines A bit of a long walk going to the falls, clean and quiet place and also its so peaceful, after maybe a 20-30 minute walk to the falls, you just have to take a dip of the cold water, very relaxing.

Once, an individual rose at the crack of dawn, specifically 4 am, to ensure they didn't miss their flight at 8 am. They hurriedly made their way to Baybay Black Sand Beach. The atmosphere there was undeniably remarkable; devoid of any pollution, only pristine and chilly air wafted through. Strolling along the shoreline with a cup of coffee in hand provided absolute rejuvenation.
I remember one day I woke up at 4 in the morning to catch my flight at 8am and I went straight to this beach...the sounds of sea was just soooooo exceptional as there's no pollution yet waving in the air, just pure cold and fresh air..drinking coffee while walking around is absolutely refreshing....i wanna go back here...

Santa Monica Parish - Panay Church

Sights & Landmarks
Santa Monica Parish - Panay Church, also known as Santa Monica Parish Church, is a significant historical landmark in Capiz. The church's current structure dates back to the late 19th century and is made of coral stones with three-meter-thick walls. It was recognized as a National Historical Landmark and a National Cultural Treasure for its Neo-Classical Baroque architecture. The church features an impressive facade adorned with intricate wooden designs.
My favorite attraction in my recent Capiz visit! The church was glorious, magnificent, surprising, historically rich, and emotionally touching all at once! From the Roxas City proper, I took a trike trip of about 40 minutes. It was a Sunday afternoon but no one was there. The main door was closed, but I was still able to check out its spacious interior. Also called Santa Monica Parish Church, this national historical landmark also houses the biggest church bell in Asia. For that alone, you have to visit!
Eizen B — Google review
The Sta. Monica Parish Church in Panay, Capiz, is a historical and cultural treasure of the Philippines. Built in 1774 and reconstructed in 1884 after typhoon damage, this church is a stunning example of Filipino Colonial Baroque architecture with Neo-Classical. The church is also home to the famous "Dakong Lingganay" or "Big Bell," the largest church bell in Asia and the third largest in the world. Declared a National Cultural Treasure in 2001, Sta. Monica Parish Church is not just a place of worship but also a symbol of resilience and community
E-den M — Google review
One of the oldest churches in Panay Island. The church has the biggest church bell in the Philippines and within the whole Asia.
Cesar C — Google review
Went here for the bell. It is displayed beside the church by the parking area. The church has a stunning architecture as well as the convento - looks like the experiors were newly renovated. The interior is huge though it needs a bit of an up keep. There's a museum beside the church though we didn't look into.
August I — Google review
I felt privileged to see and hear the largest bell in Asia, and I appreciated our guide's insightful briefing on the history and significance of this iconic landmark.
Teena C — Google review
Home of the Biggest Catholic Church Bell in Asia. Visit the Panay Church, home to the largest Catholic church bell in Asia, and experience a piece of history with its beautiful, old-world charm. To see the massive bell up close, be prepared to climb 63 steep steps (ask a church member for access). While there's no entrance fee, donations are appreciated. Don't miss the peaceful spot at the back of the church. One thing to note: the nearby public restrooms could use some improvement – a small fee would help maintain cleanliness and provide water. Given its popularity among tourists and locals alike, it's a great spot to take a break and grab a bite from the many food stalls and street food vendors outside. Just be aware that parking can get tight, especially during Mass. The church is conveniently located near the Municipal Hall and police station. _______________________________________ Capiz|| Panay Sta. Monica Church. A great historical church with lots of gem inside. It could be further improved with more architectural history research- particularly on the flooring, and the walls. Hope it could be restored to its original design! There is a tour guide and a donation of 50 pesos per head. Make sure to get up to the bell tower, as this is the gem of the church- The Largest Bell in Asia (?)

We were only like 20 mins in this place just a quick stop but wow what an incredible place to be, a very sacred place and a blast from the past, just unfortunate that we did not go up to the bells and have not seen the inside of their santa monica museo, hoping to stop by again soon.🤎🤍

Guimbal Evangelical Church, also known as St. Nicholas of Tolentino Church, is a historical landmark located in Guimbal, Iloilo. Its unique facade makes it easily recognizable from the highway. Although its exact establishment date is unknown, it was completed between 1769 and 1774 under Friar Juan Campos and later enlarged in 1893 before being destroyed by fire during the Revolution in 1896 to 1898.

Guimbal Church is situated by the highway of Guimbal, Ilo-Ilo, and can easily be recognized because of its unique façade. After my visit at Miag-Ao Church, I traveled around 30 minutes to Guimbal. According to my research, Guimbal Church or St. Nicholas of Tolentino Church doesn’t have any record to when I was erected or established, however, it was completed between 1769 and 1774 under Friar Juan Campos. In 1893, it was further enlarged but later destroyed by fire during the Revolution in 1896 to 1898. 07/2013

SM City Iloilo is a must-visit destination in Iloilo, Philippines. It's the largest and most renowned shopping mall in the area, boasting a vast gross floor area of 105,953 square meters. Opened in June 1999 on a spacious 17.5-hectare lot along Diversion Road (Benigno Aquino Avenue), it offers an array of shopping options and entertainment facilities.
This is my first time visiting SM Iloilo, and it absolutely lived up to the great experiences I’ve had with other SM malls. I love the vibrant atmosphere, the impressive architecture, and the wide variety of stores. It’s definitely one of the bigger SM branches I’ve seen—and it didn’t disappoint.
Ryian B — Google review
This mall is huge and has everything you’d expect—lots of stores, fun spots, and cozy spaces to hang out with friends. What I really loved is the free charging outlets, which you don’t usually find in other malls. It’s such a nice little perk! There’s so much to see and do here. Definitely a great place to visit!
Jo — Google review
SM Iloilo is one of the most comfortable and well-organized malls in the city. The layout is easy to navigate, with plenty of dining options ranging from quick snacks to full meals. I also appreciate how clean the common areas are and how the mall feels spacious even during busy hours. The shops are well-curated, making it convenient to find everything you need in one visit. Parking is manageable, and the staff around the mall are generally helpful and polite. Overall, SM Iloilo offers a pleasant and dependable mall experience whether you're here to shop, eat, or just relax.

I first visited this mall way back in 2000 months after its grand opening and it was still surrounded by the vast fields of Mandurriao district which is now the Iloilo Business Park and other Megaworld properties that sprouted immensely after the transfer of Iloilo Airport to Cabatuan municipality. This 2nd SM mall in Iloilo (after SM Delgado in the city downtown) had greatly improved, with more facilities, department stores, shops, an event area at the main atrium, restaurants, cinemas, and so much more. The mall has a good layout like that of SM Manila. Commuting here is easy and there are public transport to take you here or back to Iloilo City downtown.

Older Mall but still beautiful. Many popular stores and restaurants.

I always enjoy everything at SM ti their events, new shops, upgrades to their buildings and everything in between.😗🤞

SM City Iloilo has a logical layout that makes finding shops easy. The comfort rooms are surprisingly clean and well-maintained, which is a big plus. However, the heavy traffic congestion getting in and out of the complex is a major headache.

Avanceña-Camiña Balay nga Bato

Camiña Balay Nga Bato is a well-preserved ancestral house from the mid-1800s that combines Filipino and Spanish architectural styles. It offers tours of its interior, which features antique furniture, intricate carvings, and colorful artwork. This charming destination is known for its traditional Filipino hospitality and delicious snacks. Additionally, it houses a beautiful museum that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines.
Date of visit: May 28, 2025. Before pandemic, I think the entrance was 150 pesos then and it had a price hike after a couple of years, though! After payment for entrance at the souvenir shop, a downloaded video from Rappler about the house tour was presented. The owners of the old house really take care of their ancestors' legacy. The whole house, with all the antiques and other cherished things from the past, is already a museum itself plus restaurant. Dining areas occupy almost the whole second floor. Camiña Balay, just like most of Iloilo's heritage houses, brings that Old World nostalgia. Visitors are of diverse background and not everyone can be pleased yet if you're into history and fascination for "bahay na bato" with all the antiques, don't miss this important cultural property when you're in this suburban district of Iloilo City. After the tour, they serve cookies and thick hot cocoa drink served in pretty little porcelain cups. So reminiscent of a chapter in Noli Me Tangere by Jose Rizal where two types of the said beverage, according to the gossip of the unnamed municipal Alperez, were Padre Salvi's culinary language when it comes to accepting guests; the two Noli characters are known to be bitter frenemies. "Chocolate e" for honored visitors, which means, the best quality hot chocolate that is syrupy and coats the biscuit or cookies. "Chocolate a" for unwanted visitors; the thinly-prepared cocoa drink, probably a sikwate.

I was the only visitor when I went. Entrance plus batirol and merienda priced at 200 pesos. I like how they make sure that even if you come by for the batirol you have embed the cultural history of the place! Kudos to the Camina’s!

This ancestral house took my breath away and I was just in awe. It's a living museum since the descendants of the owners sill inhabit the place. We arrived at around 10 AM and we were the only guests at that time. The entrance fee is 200 PHP (which is roughly around $3.50 USD depending on the conversion rate). You will be accompanied by a tour guide. The ground floor is where you can buy lots of pasalubong: Muscovado Sugar, artisan soaps, scarves, artisan salt, and a lot more! The house is made up of stone and has pillars of wood. My favorite room was the altar room where I got to pray and medidate. They have a Sto. Niño that's 3 centuries old in display. At the end of the tour, you could drink as much tsokolate de batirol (hot chocolate) you want. The drink comes with a plate full of local biscuits and fruits in season (we were served a papaya). All in all, the house was a trip to the past-- and it shows how important it is to preserve sites such as these for the present and beyond.

Beautiful, well-preserved house. After a quick tour of the house, you'll be served tablea. We paid extra for the pancit molo soup which I think is worth it. They also have a souvenir shop offering a selection of local products.

I arrived about 3pm and bought a ticket, which included chocolate espresso drink. The ticket was supposed to be a partly guided tour. There was supposed to be a 5 minute intro video. However, there was already a group of Filipinos who were already watching the video before us. By the time we started watching it was the last 30 seconds or so at which point the guide took us upstairs, shown around a few rooms, then to the dining area to get the chocolate drink. The house was pretty with lots of original wood features, especially the antique furnishing that really gives a nice sense of 19th century old world Filipino architecture. The drink was quite nice, but I was pretty disappointed with the tour. However, without the video to give context to the visit, I learned nothing about the house and had to look it up later.

A lovely little place with absolutely amazing hot chocolate. Would recommend a visit, it's a fourth generation hand down of their recipe. The hot chocolate was nice and thick staff were friendly the place is very antique like. Oh and there's a little tradition where you have to walk up the steps sideways?
Squidgy H — Google review
Nice place to visit if you want to appreciate historical places in Iloilo. Their tablea is really good and you can ask for refills. There aren't many places to tour in the house. It's really more of a place to have merienda or rest between your trip. The price of the ticket is 200 and includes your drink + biscuits.
Pia M — Google review
I really liked the pancit molo because it’ very tasty with all the spices and the fresh papaya. But, what I loved the most was the tablea hot choco because it’s delicious and it’s refillable. On top of that, all of the food comes from their own farm. I would definitely come back here 100% when I visit Iloilo again.

Santa Ana Parish - Molo Church (Archdiocese of Jaro)

Sights & Landmarks
Molo Church, a neo-Gothic colonial church constructed in 1831, is renowned for its white-coral facade and statues of female saints. It stands out as the only Gothic-Renaissance Church outside of Manila in the entire country, making it a significant historical and heritage site in Western Visayas. The church's architecture is quite progressive for its time, with its dedication to female saints and Gothic style construction being surprising considering Spain's rivals used the technique.
This is a pretty church directly opposite Molo Mansion. It has a Gothic design with heavy influences from Classicism. It's known for having statues of only female saints, although there is a statue of the Archangel Michael near the entrance, so I don't know if that counts. There was a wedding on the day I visited, so sadly I was not about to get closer to the altar. From a distance, it's possible to see that the Gothic reredo has the church's patroness, Saint Anne, , along with statues of the Virgin with Child and the Holy Trinity.

Beautiful old church! I lived in Iloilo for 5yrs and I always pass this church but never came in to see it. Now I came back after over 2 decades and I appreciated it more. They started building the church in 1885 and it still stands until now. Inside, its a bit more modern but the structure has withstood wars, typhoons and floods. There was a wedding there when we arrived and it was filled with flower decors. The plaza in front is large enough for people to sit and chill.

As the parish priest explained, this is a feminist church, all saints inside the church are women. It was dedicated to all the strong women of the community when it was built. The streets around it are named after male saints, signifying how the men protect the women in their town.

Santa Ana Parish Church, commonly known as Molo Church, is a Spanish neo-Gothic Roman Catholic church located in the district of Molo in Iloilo City, in the Philippines. It is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Jaro. The church is recognized as "the women's church" or "the feminist church" because it only features images of female saints inside, including Saint Anne, the patron saint of Molo. The National Historical Institute declared it a national landmark in 1992

Before flying back to Manila, attended Sunday Mass at the Molo Church. There was a lot to be thankful for, the great vacation, the marvelous people we interacted with and the fabulous experiences we had. It is my practice whenever I enter a new church to pray for 3 wishes (one for the world, one for the country and one for my family) followed by 3 Our Fathers, 3 Hail Marys and 3 Glory Bes. Molo Church is also known as Sta Ana Parish. St Anne is married to Joachim. She is the mother of Mary, therefore she is the maternal grandmother of Jesus Christ. St Anne is the patron saint of Molo so Molo Church is dedicated to her. The Parish is known to be the "feminist church" giving emphasis and recognition to female saints as 16 statues line up the sides of the church leading to the altar. If you go to any church here in the country most of the church lay workers and servers are female so there is wisdom in choosing to be female centric. The Molo Church was constructed in 1831. It is the only Gothic style church in the country outside of Metro Manila. It is said that Dr Jose Rizal visited here in August of 1886 to view the biblical paintings which are no longer around at this time. In 1992, the National Historical Institute declared this as a National Landmark.

Hidden amidst the bustling present-day surroundings lies a church that feels as though it’s been plucked from the pages of an old spellbook or lifted from a scene in Harry Potter.

Nestled in the heart of Iloilo City, Museo Iloilo is a treasure trove for art and history enthusiasts alike. This government-sponsored museum stands as a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage, featuring an impressive array of historical artifacts, fossils, and stunning artworks. Visitors can explore traditional Panay Bukidnon textiles that reflect indigenous beliefs through their vibrant patterns. Additionally, the museum proudly showcases contemporary pieces from local artists, highlighting the dynamic evolution of artistic expression in Iloilo.
Regular: ₱50 Student: ₱20 We left our IDs at the hotel but the kind lady at the entrance saw that my kid is still of student age. You also have to register your name and where you are from. The museum is only one entire floor and is well ventilated. It has lots of interesting content and is just right beside the Prison museum.

A Contemporary Museum housing Modern Arts along with Spanish - Filipino History. It was raining when I visited and I wanted to go to the next museum beside it but I had no umbrella and the museum officer asked his staff to help me cross over by showing me the way and letting me borrow an extra umbrella. Thank you for the kind gesture guys. Great hospitality in Iloilo 😊 P50 Entrance fee.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must-Visit Cultural Treasure in Iloilo! Museo Iloilo is an absolute gem and a must-see when visiting Iloilo City. As the first regional museum outside Manila, it beautifully showcases the rich history and culture of Western Visayas. The collection is impressive with over 300 artifacts including ancient pottery, fossils, Spanish-era religious art, traditional textiles, and works by local artists. The exhibits are well-curated and take you on a fascinating journey from prehistoric times through the Spanish colonial period to modern day. The museum building itself is architecturally interesting with its modernist design. Everything is well-maintained and air-conditioned, making it comfortable to explore. What I loved most was how affordable it is - truly accessible to everyone. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Whether you're a history buff or just curious about Ilonggo culture, this museum offers an enriching experience. Highly recommend spending an hour or two here to appreciate Iloilo's heritage

Right across the Provincial Capitol along Bonifacio Drive, Museo Iloilo is a must-visit for first-timers. 🏺💛 It’s compact but packed with history — from pre-colonial artifacts to local art pieces. Super easy to find, and perfect for a quick but meaningful stop! I enjoyed my visit. There's a minimal fee of PhP50.

Museo Iloilo has an entrance fee of 50 PHP. Most of the relics shown here focuses on the rich history of Iloilo. There were clay jars, real Mickey mouse money (which was astounding to me!! Never in my life would I have ever imagined to see Mickey mouse money in the flesh!), a real gold death mask, wooden carvings or religious statues and saints. It's quite hot when we visited. Only a few A/C units were found inside but there are several industrial type electric fans that make up for it. You shouldn't miss this place since it's just a 2-minute walk from the National Museum of Iloilo.

Museo Iloilo has compact historical information with important artifacts. It still goves a glimpse of how was Iloilo since the early 1800s. It is worth the visit!
Rowena E — Google review
I visited Museo Iloilo with high expectations, eager to learn more about the rich history and culture of Iloilo. While the museum's exterior and lobby area were impressive, I felt slightly underwhelmed. Surprisingly, the museum has an entrance fee of P50, unlike the other better museums along the way, whose entrance fees are free. The exhibits, although well-intentioned, seemed somewhat disorganized and lacking in depth. I had hoped for more interactive displays and engaging storytelling, but instead, the exhibits felt somewhat static and dated. That being said, I did appreciate the efforts to showcase Iloilo's history, from the ancient artifacts to the colonial era. The 1staff were also friendly and welcoming. Perhaps with some updates and renovations, Museo Iloilo could reach its full potential and provide a more immersive experience for visitors. It's still worth a visit for now, but don't expect to be blown away.

Lakawon Island, located in Cadiz City, is a tiny island paradise boasting white sand beaches and a modern resort and spa. Visitors can enjoy the luxury of modern amenities and even a floating bar. While there, don't miss the chance to explore the local market for some dried fish or uga. The island offers clear and cold seawater perfect for swimming, although boat travel back to the mainland can be rough due to large waves during certain seasons.
The island is a hidden gem that offers breathtaking natural beauty and a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the island was bathed in a warm, golden glow.

I came to this place often as a child, and it used to be a desert island. It was more beautiful that way. Although I miss that old untouched vibe, I have to admit that the safety and modern conveniences that the resort provides are good for tourists as well as the local community.

We left Silay City early in the morning to catch the 7:00 am boat to Lakawon Island. The journey from Silay to Cadiz took about an hour, covering a distance of 49 km. Upon arrival, we found the motorcycle parking spacious but a bit pricey at 80 pesos. We got there before 7 am and had to wait for the Tourism officer, who arrived around 8:30 am. Thankfully, there were vendors and eateries nearby where we could have breakfast while waiting. When the officer arrived, we registered along with a Korean group. Since it was a weekday, we had to shoulder 1,000 pesos as we were less than 25 people, but the other group kindly let us pay just 200 pesos. Instead of the regular 500 pesos fee, we ended up paying 600 pesos each, which covered the entrance, terminal, round-trip boat ride, cottage, and access to the floating bar. Note that the fees vary between weekdays and weekends, and reservations are not accepted—it's first come, first served. The boat ride to Lakawon Island took about 20 minutes. We visited in February during low tide, so we couldn't swim, but we still enjoyed the serene beauty of the island. One of the highlights was the TawHai Floating Bar, a unique and popular attraction. The island also offers accommodations, huts, and a restaurant. For a smooth experience, it's advisable to book your accommodation in advance, especially during peak season. Lakawon Island is definitely worth the visit for its picturesque beaches and relaxing atmosphere.

Had a good experience despite the heavy rain when I was there. Had booked a tour guide, so I traveled by car from Bacolod to the port to Lakawon. Paid 750 for round trip boat transfer and table on the island. Eatery by the port is a bit pricey. The food on the pic below is P125. There are snacks and drinks in the restaurant at Lakawon island, also pricey. Highly recommend day tour, and be by the port before 7am to have more time to enjoy the island. The last trip from Lakawon island back to the port is at 2 pm.

Had a great time with this one of a kind beach resort, it is not summer when we went here, only a few people are here so we enjoyed lakawon, you dont have to bring cash here because you to load it by the port with the cash card. Very techie! Food are expensive though nevertheless its a good experience to be here.

📍Just to get there and back is a pain. You have to wait to fill the boat with x amount of people, waste of time if you ask me. (Pay an extra P1500 for a special trip..huh?) 📍The cottages are set back away from the shoreline which is doable but not ideal. Finding your cottage number is a guessing game. You can barely see the markers. 📍My biggest pet peeve is that you pay an “environmental fee” but the beach has not been kept clean by whoever is responsible. There’s food wrappers etc and what nots in the water and off shore. (c’mon people leave no trace!) 📍Not much in the way of snorkeling except for tiny fish and starfish by one of the moored boats. 📍Showers available in the back of cafe area. 📍Don’t go walking around elsewhere as large parts of the island are someone else’s. There’s decrepit buildings towards the back. 📍+ for the people manning the shops/office, the stars are for them. 📍If you’re parking by the ticketing office, there’s a parking fee P75. 06/29/2023

Few hours away from the city. We stayed here for a night. Price of the room is 4999 pesos good for 8 people (it was Pearl’s Place - a building about 5 mins walk from the restaurant). The room had no private bathroom (we used a common CR about 20 available). They have rooms with private CRs too. Food is expensive but tastes good. They do not have a menu. The food are prepared ahead (carinderia style).

Another very beautiful beach of our country. Staff was very accommodating and courteous. Except for the toilets, which were ALL out of order during the time we visited there, the place was good. The boat trip we took going in and out of the island were uneventful, which was good. We upgraded our rooms without any problem.

Historic Sites
The Guisi Lighthouse is a historical landmark located by the beach that was constructed in the 18th century by Spanish colonists to guide mariners passing through Iloilo and Guimaras strait. The lighthouse can be accessed via a light trail, which takes around 15 minutes uphill and offers breathtaking views of the beach. At the top of the hill lies an old Spanish-colonial outpost, as well as decaying remains of the metal lighthouse structure.
Guisi Lighthouse is a must-visit if you're in Guimaras, especially if you enjoy history and scenic views. The lighthouse itself is an old Spanish-era structure, weathered by time but still standing as a reminder of the island’s past. It’s not operational anymore, but the ruins and the rusting metal tower make for a great photo spot. The best part of the visit is the view—you get a stunning overlook of the coastline and the open sea. The short hike up is manageable, and it’s worth it once you reach the top. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, making it a nice escape from the more crowded beaches. Just be prepared for a bit of a rough road getting there, but once you arrive, it’s a great spot to explore and take in the beauty of Guimaras.

There are perfect spots to do your reels/videos and photos we are lucky enough to get an all in one tour guide/photographer/videographer. Souvenirs are available here also, cheaper than anyone else. There's a lady who is selling sinukuan key chain 7pcs for 100. A small treck going up 5mins. SUPER GANDA BABALIK AKO DITO LESS PICTURE WILL ENJOY THE VIEW. Bring sunscreen mainit kasi haha. Enjoy! The second oldest light house in the Philippines. The original tower is all rust and the surrounding building is all in ruins. It was built by the Spanish and the compound has multiple buildings, signifying its importance at that time. Great place if you fancy historical places, ruins, and architechture.

Upon entry, there is a small environmental fee. The area offers plenty of parking and a nearby resort. This is a great stop for history buffs, as you can see the rusty and deteriorated ruins of the original Spanish-era lighthouse, which is no longer operational. A new, modern lighthouse has been built next to it. You can also ask the kids kids to guide you , and take a picture of you to the best photo spots for a small tip.

Another remnant of 333 years of Spanish colonization of the Philippines. This lighthouse was first known as Faro de Punta Luzaran which served as a guide to mariners passing through the Guimaras Strait. The ruins were basically devoid of other tourists until our group visited. No queue either. A must place to visit for those who value historical landmarks and great nature scenery of green, sea and the sun. The waters below were so clear you can basically see all of the corals underneath.

Balay Negrense is a 1897 home of a sugar baron that offers tours and provides a glimpse into Negrense history. The house is preserved with period fixtures, furnishings, portraits, and personal items of the ancestors. It features an impressive family tree and hosts artists creating masterpieces. The guided tours are available in English and showcase the historical significance of the house. With donated items from other families, it offers insights into the lives of people who lived there.
I recently visited a historical site in Silay City, located on Cinco de Nobyembre Street, and while I was excited to explore, I discovered that it's currently under renovation. It’s a bit disappointing, as I was looking forward to seeing this piece of Negros Occidental history up close. However, I could still appreciate how well it has been preserved over time. You can feel the history in the air, and I can't wait to return once the renovations are completed. It’s definitely a place worth visiting for anyone interested in local history!

Without knowing where to start in this place, I pinned on what looks to be something interesting. Unluckily the place was closed and no guards to charm this time. So let me just pay homage to all the beautiful and magnificent mansions along Cinco de Noviembre St instead as I just started to stroll, high noon, on a cloudy day! Some mansions have been maintained, some abandoned. Some have been converted to museums while others have housed commercial establishments. I hope the local government would be able to maintain the charm of this place. This is something to be proud of and should sustain our heritage. I did enjoy my walk around Silay!

A testament to Silay's rich heritage, Balay Negrense stands proudly as the former residence of the Gaston family, prominent sugar barons of their time. Built in 1897, this ancestral home offers a captivating glimpse into the grandeur of Spanish-era architecture. While I was saddened to find it closed for rehabilitation until farther notice, the striking beauty of its exterior left a lasting impression. Balay Negrense undoubtedly commands attention along Cinco de Noviembre Street, and I eagerly anticipate returning to Silay City to explore its interiors and delve deeper into its fascinating history.

The Balay Negrense (Victor Fernandez Gaston Ancestral House) Silay City, Negros Occidental A Bahay na Bato showcasing the lifestyle of a late 19th-century Negrense sugar baron. It is notable for being the first museum to be established in the province of Negros Occidental. Reflecting American colonial influences, the lower storey is not constructed of stone but of concrete. The foundation posts are made out of trunks of the balayong tree, a local hardwood; the floorboards are of the same material. The house's upper storey is constructed of wood topped with a roof of galvanized iron instead of tile (reflecting the late-19th century trend started in Manila owing to a rule discouraging the use of tiles in favor of then-novel hiero as roofing material in the aftermath of the 1880 Luzon earthquakes). The house has a four-metre high ceiling and large windows with ventanillas, smaller windows beneath the large windows with sliding panels that can be opened to admit the wind. The lower storey itself is elevated from ground level by a metre-high crawlspace, allowing the wooden foundations to be aired, preventing dampness from rotting the wood.

Moment of History in a Jiffy. If you're in a hurry or have little time to spare but want to know more about the Negrense history, do visit this quaint house. The house offers a glimpse of life decades ago, with portraits, preserved furniture and personal items of the ancestors. There's an impressive family tree mounted on a round glass table, which is regularly updated. There were artists creating masterpieces in the house when we visited last March 11, 2022. There's a small souvenir room, too, with various items for sale (key chains, costume jewelry or accessories, paintings, etc.)

The Ruins

The Ruins, also known as Balay ni Tan Juan, is the remains of a grand Italianate mansion that was destroyed during World War II. Built in the late 19th century, it served as the residence of General Juan A. Araneta and holds historical significance related to the struggles during Hispanic colonization and the Negros Revolution of 1898.
I finally got to visit The Ruins in Talisay, Negros Occidental and I have to say, it truly lived up to the hype. This place is more than just a picturesque old mansion; it's a piece of history beautifully preserved and proudly shared with the public. It was closed when went there on a Saturday, it was booked for a wedding event. So, we came back on a Sunday. The moment I stepped into the grounds, I was struck by how elegant and peaceful the place was. The structure itself, though only the skeletal remains of what was once a grand home, still exudes so much character. The architecture, inspired by Italian design, is a testament to how love and legacy can be cast in concrete. What made the experience even better was how well-maintained everything was. The gardens were lush and vibrant, making the place feel alive despite the ruins. The parking is good and the comfort rooms are well maintained, which made the whole visit even more convenient and comfortable. What made it more special for me personally was seeing how happy my wife was to be back again. It brought back memories for her and added a deeper layer of meaning to the visit. It was a beautiful moment we’ll both treasure. Whether you're into history, photography, or just looking for a quiet romantic spot to relax, The Ruins is definitely worth the trip. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and reflect, a reminder of how love and resilience can stand the test of time. Don’t forget to stay until sunset, but unfortunately we are not able to stay there during sunset. We will definitely go back.

The drive there was very relaxing, with wide plains and minimal traffic. The site offers a spacious parking area and a ticketing lobby where guests line up to get tickets. Even on a weekday, there was still a queue, showing just how popular this destination is. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a beautiful green lawn, the mansion, a fountain, a small monument detailing the history of the place, and a restaurant beside a well. The history behind the mansion is heartwarming, while the story of how it burned down is truly devastating. There aren’t many activities to do here other than simply soaking in the beauty and history of the place—but that alone makes the visit worthwhile.

Spectacular structure. We saw already pictures online but we cannot believe what stands before own very own eyes. We were definitely captivated by this timeless peace; a witness of history. A place to remember ❤️.

The Ruins is absolutely stunning! Such a beautiful piece of history and definitely a must-visit. The place is well-maintained, and the view—especially during sunset—is breathtaking. You can really feel the old-world charm and romantic vibe of the place. There’s also a nice café inside where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. Perfect spot for photos, chill time, and learning a bit of local history. Entrance is 150pesos each

It’s one of the few places in Bacolod you could visit and call a tourist spot. There’s not much to see except for the concrete skeleton of a once grand mansion. You can have a lot of photo opportunities if there’s not a lot of people. At high noon, the place could be very humid. Good thing there is a restaurant in the vicinity that gives a wonderful view of the ruins. They offer a limited selection of food and drinks. We tried their shakes to help us cool down. There’s also a gift shop for souvenirs. Place is easily accessible. I was able to book a grab car to and from the area. Must visit when you’re in Bacolod.
Marie P — Google review
My cousin and I went here on a regular day. The mansion looks so beautiful, especially at night. There were also many visitors even though it wasn’t a weekend. I highly recommend going around 4 or 5 PM so you can stay until the mansion lights up.
Scarlet P — Google review
The entrance fee is paid in cash. There was sufficient parking when we arrived in the afternoon. The parking area is quite big. We parked near the entrance where you can see the fresh sugar cane juice store right away. There were quite a number of guests so it's hard to get photos without people in the background. There is a free guided tour every 30 minutes. While waiting for the tour to begin again, you can watch the informative video they prepared or check out the gift shop. The tour was short but informative. It was also a very inspiring story. This tourist spot is the last location in our city tour which I think was the best way to end the tour as it was relaxing and chill. The view was beautiful, the food was nothing special but the scenery and live music elevates the experience, and the fresh sugar cane juice on a humid day relieves your stress. This is a great place to watch the sunset. Don't miss the tree growing on top of the abandoned sugar cane tower or torre de azucar and the water fountain when its lighted at night.
Ia L — Google review
The place takes you back in time with its Spanish-era inspired cement frames creating the vibe of classic Italian ambience augmented by its adjacent restaurant - The Piazza. Perfect place to visit when in Bacolod, to relax and unwind, and just simply enjoy the scenery.

Mambukal Mountain Resort is a fascinating place with plenty to offer. Visitors can enjoy delicious desserts by the four-tiered fountain in the garden and ponder over intriguing stories from the past. The resort surprises guests with unexpected attractions like bats and various tourist spots, including rivers and high valleys. It's an ideal destination for a vacation, especially because of the relaxing sulfur hot spring known as ofuru. While it may rain at times, visitors can still appreciate the beautiful river views.
Nice place to visit. We went just for lunch. Rained rained rained. We sat overlooking the river. This is a sulfur springs resort so you have to smell it. Lol. Food was ok, nothing special. Didn't stay at the hotel. You must call before you go!

A place to relax. They accept walk-in and entrance plus environmental fee is 140pesos total. This includes pool use & hot dipping pool. Food can be bought outside just before the entrance 🥰 spa and picnic hut for day tours can be availed for separate fees. Kayak is available in the lagoon. Overnight cottages need reservation...

Terrible hotel experience, rooms are way overpriced, payed so much and there was no wifi, no towels (need to pay extra for towels) no mini bar and no blankets, only one little sheet for two people to share. No restaurants! The only option is to order room service but they close at 7:00 pm so you stay hungry all night. The staff is unorganized and unprofessional. And you need to pay extra to enter the resort, so the hot springs are NOT included in the room price. And we were charged another wired resort fee, just felt like they were milking us for everything they could. Hot springs are amazing and beautiful but that’s the only good thing about the place. Better to just come for the day and NOT stay overnight.
Jay J — Google review
The resort offers a wide range of activities such as swimming, camping, trekking, zip-lining, and boating. Visitors can also enjoy the natural sulfur hot springs and mud pools which are believed to have therapeutic benefits. Apart from the natural attractions, the resort also features various accommodations, restaurants, and souvenir shops for visitors to enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the stay at the resort a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Overall, Mambukal Mountain Resort is an excellent choice for tourists looking for a unique outdoor experience in the Philippines.

This place is impressive for they have a lot of stuff going around it. When we got here I didn't expect something like bats are in here and several tourist attractions that we experienced. I only thought it is a good public pool that we can go and swim on. But there are a lot of things you will see here. There are also rivers and high valleys that you will go through. It is a fantastic place for a vacation. But my favourite part of this place is the ofuru or the hot spring that is sulfur. I only had seen those stuff exist on anime, and trying to bathe on it is great. But, as a first timer it is quite hard to bare and stay at because the water is so hot, so you had to cool down first before going in the hot spring. An so yeah there are a lot more things that you will see here and I highly recommend people to go here.
ELIAS — Google review
My family had a good time. Me, I didn’t get to see anything. I tried to contact them for 2 weeks to check if we could get a cabin to sped the night. No one would answer their phone. When we got there, there was over rowing, no secure place to park and no security for parked vehicles. So I had to stay with the car while everyone else went to have fun. The staff at the location was less than helpful. They didn’t seem to care that we traveled there at a pretty good cost, since there was a lot of people in our group.
Paul R — Google review
Was a great experience. We went to their dip pool. The water is really hot at first and you can smell the sulfur from but not bad when you get use to it. Me and my friends are able to visit the 6 waterfalls.
Bebe N — Google review
It just is different. Not very luxury, but very comfortable. But that is not why we go there regularly. It's because of the great nature. And it's because the people working there have their own 'business' there. Whether the guides, the flower sales people or the restaurants. Very empowering. And then there is more nature. Thousands of bats in the trees, birds and trees. And when you're tired, there are the warm sulphur baths and the massage. What makes it more pleasing is that the governor has developed it 'for the people', so not commercial but with conservation as the main driver. Very sympathetic. Even if the booking process is often difficult for outsiders: do it... worth the effort.

San Sebastian Cathedral is a well-known 19th-century Catholic cathedral located in Bacolod. It features elegant architecture dating back to the Spanish times and holds historical significance as recognized by the Philippine Historical Committee. The cathedral's airy interior with chandeliers adds to its charm, and visitors can also explore the Bishops Palace within its grounds. The structure is made of stunning adobe blocks that have stood the test of time, making it a must-see for history enthusiasts.

A Cathedral of Grace: San Sebastian Cathedral, Bacolod San Sebastian Cathedral in Bacolod isn't just a church; it's a vibrant testament to faith, history, and architectural beauty. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of serenity and awe. We had the chance to visit the San Sebastian Church in Bacolod, and it was truly a beautiful and memorable experience. The architecture is stunning, with its grand design and historical charm that immediately captures your attention the moment you arrive. We visited on a Friday, and we were lucky enough to attend a Holy Mass during our visit. The ambience inside the church was peaceful and solemn, creating the perfect setting for prayer and reflection. The church is well-maintained and radiates a sense of history and faith that both locals and tourists will appreciate. Whether you're religious or simply admire heritage sites, San Sebastian Church is definitely worth a visit when in Bacolod.

We dropped by here as part of our city tour. There is currently an event happening so we could not stay for a long time. There is a guard by the gate and if you want to park inside he will help you. There are a few stalls selling religious memorabilia and candles for offering. These stalls only accept cash.

Located at the center of Bacolod City across the plaza. This church will take you back in time. Beautiful architecture and love the mosaics at the doors. Also the vintage feel of the altar. You should definitely visit this church when you’re at Bacolod City.
Just C — Google review
A church has been at this site since the 19th century. The church has a very impressive baroque facade with symmetric bell towers over an arcade with Romanesque arches. The interiors seems to be influenced by Rococo, albeit without the white plaster sculptures. The high altar is pretty much the most impressive part of the building. A white and gold ciborium shelters the altar table. Behind that, a reredos has a life-size statue of Saint Sebastian in the centre flanked by two angels
Chung H — Google review
Very solemn. The cathedral’s long aisle and bright altar gave us a light and uplifting feeling during our visit.

Campuestohan Highland Resort is a relaxed and quirky resort that offers a variety of accommodations, ziplines, outdoor pools, dining options, and a spa. It's an ideal destination for families with activities catering to all age groups. The resort features multiple pools including a wave pool, swimming pool, water park, and foam pool.
The trip there was very scenic, and upon arrival, we were greeted by giant sculptures of dinosaurs and other animals. It’s one of the most unique resorts I’ve visited. It's a true sight to behold. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, including swimming, a zipline, a hamster walk, and even ostrich feeding. While some areas are still under construction, the place shows huge potential. With its themed sections and unique photo opportunities, the experience is well worth it. I highly recommend visiting.
Brian ( — Google review
Originally, this wasn't part of our tour but because our flight was very early, we added this place as it was open early. There are so many places you can take a photo of here. It is good for couples and families. We noticed that even though it's raining the pools are packed with guests. In each area, there are also different rooms available. Since we only did a day trip here, we could only quickly check out the rooms but I think it would be fun to stay here at least overnight. The rooms are big enough to fit a family of four. There are so many things you can do. They also have their restaurant and cafe so you can comfortably stay and eat here. The entrance fee is P250 per person and parking is along the road inside the gated facility. The design of the park is kind of eclectic though. There is a general theme like the Dino park or the teepee village but once in a while, there is an item that does not fit.

Campuestohan Highland Resort is a mountain‑top resort and adventure park located in Sitio Campuestohan, Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental. It opened in May 2014 and is developed as an integrated eco‑tourism destination combining leisure, family fun, and scenic views. Pros & Highlights • Ideal for families or groups with kids: plenty of activities, space for children to play, photo opportunities. Reviewers say kids especially enjoy the whimsical attractions. • The scenic setting and cooler climate add value compared to typical resort‑town heat. One review mentioned: “The place is perfect especially for the kids… they have plenty of swimming pools and playground.” • A good mix of leisure + adventure: you can relax by the pool or opt for zip‑line/sky‑bike for more excitement. • The resort has gained some media attention—e.g., for its new rooster‑shaped hotel building “Manok ni Cano Gwapo” which drew Guinness World Record recognition.

Good value. A variety of fun things to do. Entrance fee is fair. All rides have to be paid for around 150 to 200 pesos. Instruction on how to pay for rides very vague very often have to ask staff. Main wave pool is well presented and fun and by far the best feature that does not have to be paid for.
Stuart M — Google review
Always a great time with the kids at campuestohan. Entrance at 250 unli access to all the pools. You need to pay extra for other activities such as ostrich feeding, zip line etc. The resort keeps improving as they add new attractions and a big slide.
Clint M — Google review
Staff are friendly and place is spacious. A lot of activities to do and it was a great experience to feed the ostriches! Currently there is a major construction on going for thier new acttractions however it doesnt affect our quick day use of the place.
Eunice A — Google review
We visited the place just two days ago with an entrance fee of ₱250 for adult. It was beautiful! I think they have around five pools, with two more still under construction. There are plenty of garbage bins, huge dinosaur displays, and of course, the famous Manok ni Cano. My only concern is the restrooms — they’re not well maintained despite the abundant water supply. You can still smell urine, and there’s nowhere to place your things inside the shower area. The food in their cafeteria is okay, but there are a lot of flies. I’d suggest bringing your own food and a jacket in case it rains, as it can get quite cold due to the fog. Overall, my toddler really enjoyed the foam and wave pools!
Shiela A — Google review
The place really has gone downhill. A lot of the facilities and structures are dilapidated, broken and rusted due to neglect. The pools look dirty with bits of mould present. The slides and rides are either under construction or out of order. No life guards at certain areas to supervise with poor signage as well.

Danjugan Island is a 43-hectare protected paradise, featuring sandy beaches and lush rainforests teeming with diverse wildlife. The island is a prime example of sustainable ecotourism, offering well-maintained paths that lead to secluded beaches, sea-eagle nests, and a bat cave where pythons prey on bats at dusk. Visitors can enjoy kayaking and diving in the marine reserve's three no-take zones for enhanced fish-watching.
Only tried the 3-hour tour but it was enough for me to experience what the island has to offer both under the water and over. The marine sanctuary was teeming with aquatic life. Too bad I forgot to bring an underwater camera. My guide took us around the island as well. We visited the turtle hatching site, the tabon hatching site, a bat cave, and a lagoon where we did some kyaking. The island is well worth an overnight, which i plan to do on a future visit.

Beautiful place. Great people. Food was amazing, we were fed every two hours maybe lol... Very comfy room was luxurious given this is not a resort. Little touches like scented candles when we entered the room. A guide is assigned to us for our entire stay letting us pick the activities (there are lots!) we'd like to do or you can just chill. The only place where you can see both spectacularly sunrise from one side of the island and watch sunset at the other side. I'll be coming back. Photos speak for itself...

My Danjugan trip was by far the most satisfying overnight vacation I have experienced in recent memory. The island offers trip packages for your convenience and you will not be disappointed. For a fixed fee, you can already stay on the island for a night complete with amiable accommodations and superb food. The food can be compared with no less than the best restaurant you can find in Negros. It is also not your regular one viand meal but a fully prepared set meal that is sumptuous and delightful, you will be surprised with the quality and the taste. The scheduled activities are fun and insightful, your payment already includes unlimited use of any of their gears to snorkel, to trek, and to kayak. And the activities are endless since the island boasts of numerous diving and snorkel spots. The island also features a bat cave and several beaches and a handful lagoons for your amusement. This is one place that you should definitely visit in Negros.

Danjugan Island allows everyone a safe refuge from everyday life's wear and tear. The island is a love letter to the future generation - it is a gift to our grandchildren and a reminder of how diverse, beautiful and full of adventures our planet is. It is also a reminder to take care of our environment so those yet to be born can still see the wonders. The perks: It is only a few hours away from Bacolod and is easily accessible through public transport You can get to the island by boat and the ride there is already part of the tour There are rooms with complete amenities for rent Food is excellent and delicious Service is topnotch The island is beautiful and you will never run out of activities to choose from Swimming, kayaking, trekking, sightseeing, diving, snorkeling and of course eating delicious meals are juat some of the activities you can enjoy The downside: If you plan to work or spend your time on social media, don't. There is no signal in the island. You have to walk a few hundred meters to get a signal This is not actually so bad as you can enjoy the island without being annoyed by the outside world. This is also a reminder that there are adventures away from the screens of our phones and outside of social media
Jared L — Google review
Went there October 2018, the place is beautiful and since the island is a private property, there is a fee going there but it is all worth it! Included in the said fee were boat service to and from the island, food (AM/PM snack, Lunch), snorkeling gears and a tour guide since you will be exploring the island for the whole day. You can also stay there since there are cottages in the island.

Nature at its best, superb nature way designed to impress both tourist and locals. The reef is jaw dropping, corals and fishes are everywhere. So much to do in this island trekking bat caving kayaking and other water activity. I was amaze by the local and lgu preserving this awesome island. Cheer danjungan

Foremost of all, the conservation effort of the entire team is commendable. Do not miss the opportunity to dive / snorkel at the Coral Garden and be prepared to be amazed at the schools of giant colorful angelfish. The sunsets are stunning. Moray Lagoon, named after the many resident moray eels (do not dip your fingers), is an eye-catching aquamarine color, and it is good for kayaking for those who like this activity. It is full-board (accommodation, 3 meals, a morning snack, and an afternoon snack). There is so much food. Needless to say, it represents excellent value for the amount that you paid.
Jake H — Google review
Best Eco-tourism island in the Philippines I was told and I believe it is true. This place is magic and will talk to the rising number of people, like us, who want to reduce their environmental footprint. It is exclusive in the sense it has a very limited number of accommodations available but it is highly worth booking those to experience the unique jungle, 5 lagoons, top snorkeling sites and bird watching. It is a pity fishermen (and authorities) around are not respecting the fishing nets regulation but it is not yet affecting the island too much. Avoid if you need aircon or a TV but go for it if that is secondary to a unique nature experience. Worth the 4h drive from Bacolod.

The place is renamed since the pandemic. It's funny enough not possible to go there by car. The owner hopes that the last 100 yards will be finished soon so that you can come until 50 yards of the facility. Owner is very pleasant. Good bed and good bathroom. No complaints except the wifi is real bad and no other datareception possible in the room.

Way overpriced for facility. Excellent service from the one and only staff. It's an unexpected adventure just to get there, aim to check in before 3pm... A long tricycle ride from Sipalay, then a boat, then walk a mile on the beach.... Carrying luggage.... Beach is polluted with plastic... So many places to stay without the hassle, and better value. Maybe they should drop the Price. It's a good place to stay a few days or more... If it were cheaper.

Dishonest owner and a terrible place. Don't stay here!!!! Edit: I stayed here for a short time in 2019 with my then gf. The stay was bad enough that we left halfway through, requested a refund, were promised said refund and subsequently not refunded the correct amount. Yhetd was no watef and nk services provided while we were there. What was supposed to be a ten night stay was cut short after two nights. The owner then threatened to have me assaulted in Bacolod when I complained to her directly. So I'm not unposting a bad review. Maybe you should keep better records.

Magaso Leisure Camp is a cluster of overnight cottages and picnic areas situated near a towering waterfall that is popular for swimming. It can be reached via a two-hour motorcycle ride from the city of Bacolod, located in Kabankalan Negros Occidental. This hidden paradise boasts a relaxing ambiance with fresh, crystal-clear water flowing throughout the area, making it an ideal sanctuary to relieve stress and appreciate nature's beauty.
I recently visited one of the best waterfalls I've ever seen, tucked away in the heart of Kabankalan City. The moment I arrived, I was blown away by the beauty surrounding me. The water was so refreshing, perfect for a hot day! However, I do have to mention that the rocks around the waterfall can be really slippery, so it’s best to watch your step. Overall, it’s just a great spot to connect with nature and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a lovely place to unwind, this waterfall is definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely epic place to be. The road to get here is now paved but it gets dicey as it's steep and one area was damaged due to flooding and the road was caved. Hopefully, by the time you go,the road would be fixed. The resort itself is pretty good. If you're up for adventures and lots of stairs and climbing, this is the place for you. They have villas you can rent of overnight and lots of gazebos for day use. Im happy to see that the focus is on the falls and the nature surrounding it. The main area where the pool is, is nice enough. Going down to the falls, that's an adventure and if you have bad knees, take your time. Some parts of the stairs are quite big steps, so it takes effort. The falls itself, the main one that is accessible is stunning. Now it depends when you come here because when we did, it was raining the night before and during our visit. So it was a lot of water and it was awesome. The upper side is much more chill and there is a natural slide that gets fun but be very careful because the current is so strong that it does push you down. Better have someone watching out and help pull you up because it is hard to stand once you've slid down. But it is fun. The trek going up is okay but be careful as there are parts with no railings whatsoever. The facilities, the washrooms are okay. I think they were renovating a few. Anyway, it really is a fun place and you can even bring your meats or fish to grill. You do have to bring your own charcoal. But what a fun place to hang out for the day. I say get there early because the parking is at a premium as well.

Mag-aso Leisure Camp is one of the best destinations for family and friends bonding. The water comes from a source that is safe for everyone and chlorine-free. The vibe is very natural, where you can enjoy a lot of activities like picture taking, camping, video shooting, and more. What are you waiting for? Don't wait, come and visit Mag-aso Leisure Camp where the beauty of nature awaits.

Truly breath taking experience. The water was so refreshingly cold and as blue as the sky. The surrounding nature is very well maintained and is a beauty in itself to enjoy. You can’t buy tickets or cottages in advance, but both are always available at arrival so there’s nothing to worry about. Entry cost was 50 pesos and cottages are 200 pesos for the day. If natural waterfalls and nature-made pools aren’t your thing, they also have a large beautiful man-made pool available as well.
Jared K — Google review
Nice place to stay and bond with family and friends. Overnight rooms and cottages can be rented. Can also bring your own tent. Some of the cottages do not have functioning lights. There is no quiet time so be prepared for the other groups that decides to drink all night and talk loud with no regards to the other people who are trying to sleep. The pool water is spring water and just flows in and flows out a spillway on the other end. The main reason I gave it 3 stars is for the lack of noise discipline and enforcement which should be quiet hours.
Bruce C — Google review
Unforgettable waterfall swimming experience. There were quite a lot of stairs (and some of them pretty steep) to get to the falls but the hike is worth it! The water is ice blue and refreshingly cool. I would recommend bringing water shoes with you as the rocks can be slippery and sharp. You’ll also need to bring your own towel too. The camp offers ‘cottages’ for P200 but they’re really more like park benches/tables with an awning, kind of like a cabana. They have a food stall selling sio mai, fries, halo halo and other items near Wilfred’s camp, which was a tasty treat but they didn’t have any other places for a sit down meal as far as I could tell. I would definitely bring your own snacks and drinks since it’s a hike back to the top to buy from the entrance stall. There was a lady sitting on a barstool who was telling us we needed to pay P25 to use a plastic chair and we weren’t sure if she was an actual employee or not (turns out she was) it would have been nice if she was wearing something to identify her as an employee because the whole interaction was odd.

Good place. Fresh water pool. The falls was amazing. Did not get that good of a cottage for 400 because we arrived at noon. Toilet is meh.

The best place to Relax, connect with nature. Clean, fresh water everywhere from the high and low falls. Unique was the free flowing water in the pool from the mountain. Best place for "Nature Lover" families and Kids.Relieves stress when seeing taller green trees. Best place to visit when summer 🌞

White Beach Moalboal

Mentioned on

Beach
White Beach Moalboal, also known as Basdaku Beach, is a picturesque stretch of white sandy shoreline in Cebu, Philippines. Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, this tranquil beach offers clear turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. It is renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life, making it a popular destination for water enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy activities such as volleyball and kayaking while taking in the beauty of the pristine surroundings.
It's really beautiful, but one the weekend very crowded
Magdalena Z — Google review
The beach is stunning, featuring beautiful white sand and an abundance of colorful corals and fish, making it ideal for snorkeling. However, there are some downsides: nearby restaurants often have loud music and karaoke, and there is little to no shade available. It can also get quite crowded in the evenings. We paid 25 pesos each on the way there, in addition to parking and an entrance fee on-site.
Marta C — Google review
I visited this place on a Saturday afternoon — it was quite crowded with lots of people swimming. There were many food stalls along the beach selling all kinds of grilled meat and seafood. The beach itself was clean and beautiful, but due to the crowd, I decided just to take a walk and enjoy the view. Note that there’s a small fee: 20 pesos for motocycle parking and 10 pesos for entrance
Nghia D — Google review
It's a public beach, but for some reason it requires a fee. It's dirty, there are no changing rooms or sun loungers, and there are lots of dogs and dog poop. The locals simply don't know what a normal beach should look like. There are no lifeguards either.
Edgard S — Google review
Calm blue waters, but very busy. Met some locals who invited us to join them to play volleyball that was fun. Overall, it was an okay experience.
Ashley G — Google review
We went here September 19, 2025. It is not a part of our Tour package, but included due to bad weather resulting for a temporary closure of Kawasan Falls. White Beach in Moalboal is open for the public, but you have to pay for an enviromental fee of 10 pesos per person and a parking fee of 100 pesos. The beach has a remarkable white sand and a stunning clear water. You can see on the other side the island of Negros Oriental.
Gorj S — Google review
A nice enough beach and very busy when I went. The water is clean and blue.
Paul B — Google review
Rode our bike up to the beach and pay the small entry and parking fee, like 40 pesos for two and a bike. The beach is very nice white sand and the water is crystal clear. Snorkelling is wonderful, and you can easily see turtles in the shallows. You can rent a mask-snorkel from the beach if needed. If you walk down the beach just 5 minutes, you can have the place to yourself, and the snorkelling is still great.

Pescador Island

Nature & Parks
Pescador Island, located in the Tañon Strait near Cebu, is a popular destination for snorkelers and divers. The island is known for its pristine waters and rich marine life, making it a favorite spot for underwater exploration. Its vibrant coral reef teems with diverse sea creatures, including huge sea turtles and colorful fish. However, visitors should be cautious of jellyfish in the area to avoid getting stung.
We were a family of 4 certified divers visiting Moalboal from the U.S. in July. We went diving with Turtle Bay Dive Resort Center. Our dive master, Dennis, was professional and had our safety in mind. The current was a little strong and our dive master & crew were cautious. The visibility wasn’t as clear as other places we have dove. There was lot of sealife.
Catherine H — Google review
We paid 700 pesos each to reach the island with our own snorkeling gear. The boat trip was the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the corals are still recovering, and we only encountered three or four fish species that we hadn’t seen at White Beach. There were also jellyfish in the water. We swam for about 40 minutes. While we don’t regret the experience, we wouldn’t recommend it if you’re expecting a mind-blowing snorkeling adventure.
Marta C — Google review
Ive been snorkling to Boracay, Bohol, Bantayan, Camuigin and more, but this is the best snorkling experience I had. You can see the beautiful paradise under the sea here. 🌊 that feeling that you dont want to leave the island. Trully recommended and a must snorkling in Moalboal. My camera cannot capture the real beauty of the place, so magical and colorful, I hope they can preserve this beauty and hopefully the corals are safe when I can come back.
Marivic Y — Google review
This place provided me such wonderful experience. The locals were so friendly, guides were considerate and very helpful. I love the part when the local tourism provided a mini orientation about the place, they oriented us about do's and don'ts during the snorkeling; they encouraged us to not only enjoy the place but to help them preserve the beauty of it, tourists are prohibited to touch any creatures during the snorkeling and even during the turtle viewing. I felt safe when we were riding the boats going to Pescador Island, guides were strict about tourists wearing life jackets. The view was exhilarating, approaching the small island bring exuberance and thrill. When we reached the place, local guides reminded us of safety protocols, they were with us while we were enjoying the underwater view, it felt safer knowing they were there watching us. Guides did not only kept us safe, they were giving us tips on how to do snorkeling more fun. As a first timer, I really enjoyed the experience, I know all of the tourist there did. By the way, you can rent an underwater camera to the local guides if you don't have one, and please do rent one, those guides were the reason why I have such awesome underwater photos, they were the ones who took it. Amazing.

This place is a very good snorkeling place. My and my family had gone and do snorkeling to this area. We saw a lot of things like the sea turtle that are very huge and amazing fishes and a school of fishes swimming around under the sea. However while we are swimming around the area. We got itchy and and got a lot of red marks around our skins. Because as we don't know that there are jellyfishes that are swimming around the water. Hence, it is quite difficult to swim due to the jellyfish stings. But, overall my experience here is great
ELIAS — Google review
*Visited May 2020* A nice little island that you can snorkel around and see all the different types of coral. There are quote a few fish around including 'Dory' & Parrot fish. We were taken acrossto the island on a small boat and stayed there for about 20 minutes exploring. The sea is beautiful and clear. But we did not go on the island itself as there wasn't any access to be able to do this. There has been known to be turtles but we didn't see any here.

Sardines and turtles are amazing. The tourist is professional, they not only monitor carefully to ensure safety but also help us take best photos and records. Unforgettable moments!

We had the best time trekking, jumping off cliff and swimming in the beautiful falls with our amazing guides Ron and Keith! They were extremely attentive, friendly and caring. At one point, about 1/3 of our journey, the straps of my hiking sandals broke. Keith, our guide, volunteered to switch his sandals for mine so that I can complete the adventure safely. And before long, my sandals completely fell apart, Keith removed them and did the remaining journey bare footed. I was so touched by the sacrifice he had made. Throughout the trip, both guides looked after us meticulously and Ron still managed to take more than 120 super cool pictures and videos of us. This truly made our trip Cebu unforgettable. Thank you Ron and Keith! From the bottom of our hearts!

Amazing experience! My girlfriend and I were able to book this activity three days in advance. It cost 2,700 PHP for the entire experience, including pick-up and drop-off, the zipline, and lunch. A must-do when you’re traveling in Cebu! The whole activity takes around 4 hours, but you can go at your own pace. The guides were fantastic and made incredibly good, over-the-top videos with our GoPro!

From start to finish, everything was well organized and safety was clearly a priority by the 5 kuyas (our guide) . Our guides were friendly, energetic, and really knew how to keep the group engaged and confident—even me who’s very nervous about the jumps. The mini trek through the jungle and river was beautiful. We swam through crystal-clear water, slid down natural rock formations, and jumped off cliffs of varying heights. The final stop at Kawasan Falls was the perfect way to end the adventure—which was the swing, we really enjoyed that part. If you enjoy nature, adrenaline, and something truly unique, I highly recommend this. An unforgettable must-do in Badian Cebu!

We had an amazing experience. Never had such an awesome yet breathtaking adventure which involves cliff jumping, swimming, swinging, sliding & much more. The guide explained everything very well and was looking after us all the time to keep us safe. Lunch served at the end was also sumptuous and especially they served vegetarian food too. I would surely recommend them to everyone looking for Canyoneering in Kawasan Falls.

Kawasan Canyon is truly a stunning natural beauty. The scenery is breathtaking, and swimming in the canyon was such a wonderful experience. 🌊✨ Definitely a must-see place! However, in our visit, a guide stayed with us the whole time. At first, we thought it was required for everyone to have a guide, but later we noticed that other tourists were exploring on their own. We didn’t really want a guide, but he kept staying with us just to get a tip, which was a bit annoying. Apart from that, everything was amazing. It’s a natural wonder I highly recommend everyone to see.

Before you reach the falls, you will walk for 15 minutes depending on your pace, and of course the weather is hot, bring water so that when you get thirsty you can drink something. The falls are really a beautiful sight. The sound of the falling water, is very pleasant to listen to and is relaxing that brings joy to your heart. I am grateful for this day because I witnessed one of the beautiful natures of the Philippines that should be preserved. When my daughter saw the KAWASAN FALLS, all I heard was WOW and that's how amazed she was.

We arrived at noon and parked at the church at the entrance to the site. We had to pay 50 pesos to the guard for each motorcycle. We decided not to take the long tour and instead paid only for reaching the first waterfall (200 pesos per person). The walk was relatively short and comfortable. The view is very beautiful and we saw several animals along the way (butterflies, a lizard running on the water, bats on a tree…) The waterfall itself is very beautiful. You need to wear a life jacket and there is indeed a strong current as you get closer to the waterfall. Overall, it was a very good experience, worth the visit.

Bais Dolphin Watching and Manjuyod Sandbar Tours

Outdoor Activities
Bais Dolphin Watching and Manjuyod Sandbar Tours offer a delightful experience for travelers. The sandbar, located in Bais but accessible from Dumaguete, is a paradise with fine sands and shallow waters during low tide. Visitors can enjoy water sports activities like banana boat rides while taking in the sea breeze. The area also offers dolphin watching tours, providing an opportunity to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Beautiful nature encounter. Watching pods of dolphins swimming and playing around your boat is amazing! Seeing them jump in the air and spinning. Swimming under you, jumping in front of your boat and all around you is a wonderful experience.
James F — Google review
Free parking; private vessel hire; great helpful crew. Very safe with life vests for all on board. Knowledgable of where to see the dolphin pods. Cooked fresh seefood on BBQ at the rear of the boat. Reasonable price.

Jaspervf V — Google review
Third time here, and it was a bit of a flop. More of dolphin spotting than dolphin watching. No sand bar also. They said it’ll show up around 4pm which would mean staying in the middle of nowhere for 8 hours since we had to start early to catch the dolphins. And no advance notice was given by the operator. Food, however, was top notch.
Leigh V — Google review
Best time to go dolphin watching is morning around 9-10. Might as well book your tour ahead of time.
Mayjie I — Google review
We were able to see some dolphins from afar. They easily disappeared most probably by the noise that the motor boats produced. Even though it was already a little early before the sandbar appeared, we opted to go there and just spent some quiet time watching and observing people who were riding Banana boats. The food served in the boat was delicious. Hope they can do something in crafting the tour package in such a way that there would be no lull moments in between itineraries.
Encar V — Google review
It is a nice sand bar which appeared during lowtide. While visiting the place, you will have the chance to see dolphins, enjoy water sports activities and much more

We haven't experienced the Dolphin watching when we had our travel last February 2020. But we enjoyed the Manjuyod sandbar so much. Fine sands and sea breeze were very much a delight for us travellers. We also did banana boat with my friends which add up the fun and adventure of our Negros Travel.

Nestled within a forested volcanic landscape, Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park is named after the pair of deep crater lakes it houses. Located in Negros Oriental province, this natural park offers a hassle-free tourist attraction with its serene and relaxing ambiance. The twin lakes are similar in size and are surrounded by lush green slopes of the mountains, making it a picturesque sight to behold.
Well maintained national park in Negros Island. The road leading to the lake is a bit of a challenge though. You need to be very careful and make sure your vehicle is road worthy and double checking that the brakes are working properly.

P120 entry, no swimming. Many posts said "take the boat". I say don't as you are missing out on a great hike (few rocky bits but easy grade if you are medium fit). Lovely jungle and great views along the way. From the view tower of both lakes I found a trail with steps but it seems it's for locals, a local with a machete was behind me, I asked if it's safe to walk he said "No" pointing at trees possibly warning about vipers. Don't take the risk without a guide, plenty of deadly snakes and no antivenom nearby= your dead. Overall great experience but marred by appauling service at Resto; I ordered a simple sandwich and fresh lumpia, after waiting 20 mins, group of 6 Pino's arrives laughing and joking, they were served immediately, I'm still waiting so I walked out. Unbelievable!

A Fairytale Escape to Balinsasayao Lake Visiting Balinsasayao Lake was absolutely worth the uphill and steep ride. The moment we arrived, I was overwhelmed by how rich and vibrant the rainforest is—the flora and fauna are simply unbelievable. The lake itself looks like something out of a postcard—or better yet, a fairy tale. Serene, mystical, and breathtakingly beautiful, it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel connected to nature. If you ever find yourself in Sibulan or Dumaguete, don’t miss the chance to take a side trip to Balinsasayao Lake. The journey may be far, but the experience is more than worth it.

A Magical Day at Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park: 🕹The Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park is located in the municipality of Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Philippines. Specifically, it lies within Barangay Enrique Villanueva, approximately 14.5 kilometers west of Dumaguete City. Visiting Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park was truly a magical and refreshing experience. Despite the occasional light showers and the slippery road on the way up, my partner handled the drive with care and skill, making our journey safe and smooth. The misty weather actually added to the charm of the trip — it felt like we were being slowly embraced by nature. As soon as we arrived, we were captivated by the serene beauty of the park. The twin lakes — Balinsasayao and Danao — are nestled amidst lush mountains and thick forest, making the view almost surreal, like something straight out of a postcard. The calm, mirror-like surface of the lakes reflected the surrounding greenery, creating a peaceful and dreamlike atmosphere. We took the short trail that winds up and down through the forest toward the second lake. It was an easy hike, filled with the sounds of birds and the scent of fresh earth. The trail led us to a cozy viewing hut situated between the two lakes — a perfect spot to pause, breathe in the fresh air, and take in the panoramic view. Standing there, with water on both sides and thick forest all around, we felt completely in awe of nature's quiet grandeur. The park is part of a protected natural reserve, home to various species of birds and endemic plants, making it an ideal place for nature lovers, hikers, photographers, and anyone looking to escape the city and reconnect with the natural world. This visit reminded us how much beauty the Philippines holds — sometimes hidden, often overlooked, but always worth the journey. Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park is not just a destination; it’s an experience that soothes the soul and inspires gratitude.🙏🫰🤍 Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park in Negros Oriental has been officially recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park. This prestigious designation was granted on November 29, 2024, making it the 13th such park in the Philippines and the first in the Visayas . Covering approximately 8,016 hectares, the park encompasses two crater lakes—Lake Balinsasayao and Lake Danao—surrounded by lush tropical forests. It serves as a sanctuary for over 427 species of flora and fauna, including 14 globally threatened bird species such as the Critically Endangered Negros Bleeding-heart Pigeon and the Visayan Wrinkled-billed Hornbill. The ASEAN Heritage Park status underscores the park's exceptional biodiversity and ecological significance, highlighting its role in regional conservation efforts. This recognition also emphasizes the importance of preserving such natural treasures for future generations.

Taking a boat ride across the lake is one of the most relaxing experiences you can have while in Dumaguete City. P.S. You can even dip your feet in the water at the dock area for a free fish spa.

2 stars for the beautiful scenery. To make it short, we felt scammed. 110 pesos/person for entrance fee (which allowed you to go down to the lake), it took us only 5mn. From here you can take a boat to go to the other side of the lake, 250 pesos more. If you wanna go to the second lake, there is a 900m trail. People working there (and after you pay the entrance fee) tell you that you can take a guide for this trail, 300 pesos. So if you sum everything that makes this trip for a total of around 700 pesos! We didn't eat at the restaurant. There is no signal telling us about we must take a guide so we did the trail on our own. Obviously on our way back the workers told us that we must take a guide which completely unnecessary. Very low professionalism and very less informations provided. I suggested them to make a fix price from the first entrance which they didn't seem to understand. Be aware, Philippines is a really beautiful country, but we always feel like the people here want to scam you more than everything..

It's far from Dumaguete City but it's worth it. It's beautiful there. You'll have to rent a small boat to cross the lake.
