The sprawling Kargil War Memorial is one of the most iconic memorial in the country dedicated to all the revered brave heroes who made the supreme sacrifice defending the nation's border during the 1999 Kargil War. The memorial features a pink sandstone wall etching the names of the fallen soldiers. The main road leading upto the huge Indian flag is adorned on both sides by busts of prominent figures in the war such as Captain Vikram Batra, Lt. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Lt. Yogendra Singh Yadav and many others. It also has large real life models of the heavy BOFORS artillery guns, and pack howitzers and Mig 21 fighter jet which were instrumental for the indian victory on icy heights. The 'Hut of Remembrance' features the names of many more bravehearts who laid down their lives, along with their regiments insignias. Its also a full fledged museum featuring various photos showcasing life of the armed forces members who participated, equipments used by both sides such as radios, transmitters, guns, ice axes, letters written by the soldiers to their families under duress and others. Photography or videography is however strictly prohibited in the Remembrances hut. The complex also includes rebuilt models of enemy igloo shelters and bunkers. Apart from these, it also has a restroom, toilet, atm and a souvenir shop within its walls for convience of the visitors. Overall, an extremely well-maintained memorial that is sure to evoke a sense of pride and patriotism for the fallen soldiers in anyone's heart. Must visit.

Over at the museum, you can experience the real life used heavy artillery guns, carbines, bullets, magazines, uniforms of Captain Vikram Batra and many others etc. You can also explore the Mig 21 fighter jet which was placed for public view. You can see the models of war zones and realize a part of the realtime crisis on spot. This is a fantastic experience. Everybody must visit Kargil War Memorial. A must visit space to honor the heroes of India. Souvenir Shop, Toilets, Restrooms are present here as facility for visitors. Over at outdoor places you can take pctures of MIG fighter, Cannons, Special artilleries, Pathway, Igloo shelters, bunkers etc. However photography or videography is strictly prohibited in the Remembrances hut. The Kargil War Memorial, also known as Dras War Memorial, is a war memorial built by the Indian Army commemorating the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. The memorial is located on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1D, about 5 km from the city centre across the Tiger Hill, Kargil. The central feature of the memorial is a pink sandstone wall bearing a brass plate engraved with names of the soldiers who died during Operation Vijay. Visible from the site are the Tololing Heights, Tiger Hill, and Point 4875 (Batra Top), where fighting took place during the conflict. The memorial features the Captain Manoj Pandey gallery, which commemorates a young officer who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military award, for leadership during the war.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The army pride and valour is felt closely. The museum takes you back in time and the way army personnel explain it there are goose bumps. The section which has letters written by the martyrs definitely wells up your eyes. Beat part was 7 min presentation by army jawan about the Kargil war. Visited this lake on our visit to Gurez Valley. The lake is not very clean. They have a ticket to enter. There is a kids' play area. You can park outside without any fee. The garden rea is not very clean. Kids cycle around on their bicycles

The lake is dirty and park is basic. Good spot for locals to spend their day but won’t be recommended for tourists, might be a scenic in winters with snow but not recommended for tourists during non winter time.

A must visit place. Really beautiful and quiet place for nature lovers and people who like to explore nature. There are tea and Maggie stalls near by and barista nearby. Horse rides are available, however you can also trek to this place. The glacier is about 5km from the highway and it’s an easy trek (depends if you’re active or mostly sedentary). Do visit, sit there for a moment and embrace the tranquil landscape! Note: Please do not litter. Respect nature and the locals! Make sure you carry all waste that you generate with you and dispose it properly in a dustbin! Be a responsible traveler!

Stunning. You must come here to see the scenic beauty and a divine feeling. Absolute serene and scenic. Use sledge to go till 18 points and enjoy the view. With snow around it gives a different feeling. Visiting in the mid of the March is probably the best time. Better to start early around 10 am, and enjoy the least crowded space and no waiting time for snow bike either.

Amazing place, natures beauty at its best. The mountain the snow its really beautiful even the road that you travel in order to reach the destination is lovely. The only difficult part you have to get the pony’s to reach the glacier point and sometimes people scam by charging more for tourist, better bargain and ensure you get a good rate. Thajiwas Glacier in Sonmarg is stunning, with snow-capped peaks and streams that make it feel magical. You can easily reach by walking, no need for snow bikes or ponies. Beware of scams as many locals push for costly rides. Walking is peaceful, safe, and lets you enjoy the natural beauty at your own pace.

It is a very easy hike along the valley. You can easily walk upto the pony shed, which you find on Google maps. Start at around 9 or before to beat the tourist crowd. It is a very picturesque valley. Locals do not advise walking beyond the pony shed, because of the bears in the area. However it is perfectly safe upto this point, and you have a well laid path as well. There's also a village on the way, so you aren't completely alone. Pony riders will try and convince you otherwise, do not fall for it, unless you really want to ride a pony. Fall season is a perfect time to visit (late october) it is not too cold, peaks have snow on them, and there's little crowd.

Went to this place last week with my family. It is very beautiful and clean lake in Srinagar. We decided to spend some time here away from the hustle and bustle of dal lake. The experience was worth it. The lake is really clean and offers stunning views at sunrise or sunset time. One can enjoy shikara ride in peace as there are very less hawkers on boat at this place which is unlike Dal lake. At last, we stayed in Anarkali house boat in this lake which was also very nice.

Nigeen lake is the smaller lake in Srinagar, it is connected to Dal Lake but unlike Dal lake there is less crowds here and atmosphere is tranquil. Still there are good amount of house boats in this lake and some shikaras as well. You can also take a shikara ride from Nigeen lake to Dal lake as well. For those like less crowds, Nigeen lake is a better choice.

Meena Bazaar felt genuinely authentic, with quality items at fair prices. Everything felt safe, clean, and beautifully looked after. If you’re considering a houseboat stay, go for it—one night wasn’t enough. Highly recommended!

Tulip Garden is located adjacent the Botanical Garden. The garden is planned in line with the Mughal gardens in terms of the layout of pathways with water channels, cascades and fountains. The garden opens in March when the Tulips bloom - a mesmerizing spectacle of nature to behold - in all possible colours and hues. Not only tulips, there are flowering plants of various other species as well. Beautifully manicured lawns and decorated flower beds arranged in various shapes abound. Located at foothills of the Zabarwan range, the garden is terraced in two or three levels - not as steep as the Chasme Shahi. Entry fee is Rs.75/person. Parking is about half a kilometre away... common for both the Tulip and the Botanical gardens.

I recently visited the Tulip Garden in Srinagar, and honestly, it was beautiful! The garden is huge and full of colorful tulips—red, yellow, pink, and orange—stretching as far as you can see. Walking through the rows of flowers felt very peaceful and relaxing.

Just opened today for general public for this season. Enormous collection of Tulips 🌷, also Daffodils, Hyacinths, plum and peach blossoms, weeping willow etc. Must visit place for every tourists. Tulip Garden in Srinagar is a breathtaking paradise with over 1.7 million tulips across 73+ varieties. Sri Shankaracharya Hill in Srinagar is the hill where Adi Shankaracharya did meditation in a cave nearly. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. Details of this can be googled. There are 240 odd steps. The last about 20 steps are about one foot high. Those who have arthritis or leg pain keep off. Instead you can do seva at the Langar at the start point. Try to reach early as possible as it gets crowded. The traffic is kind of unorganized hence gets messy. Autos are preferred mode to travel. Need to bargain hard with them. Empty your bladder before as the toilets are very unclean. It's at the highest point in Srinagar, therefore, it's under military. For an average person it will take about 20 minutes. Don't miss visiting the cave where the Shankaracharya did meditation.

Inside the temple, I was greeted by a beautiful idol of Lord Shiva, radiating an aura of tranquility and divinity. The architectural style of the Shankaracharya Temple reflects the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir and showcases intricate carvings and craftsmanship. It stands as a testament to the devotion and artistry of the past. An oldest temple, way back to 2000 BCE, of Srinagar where a beautiful "JYESHTESWARA" temple is situated and Dhyan sthal of Sri Adishankaracharya of 8th century. One should visit and enjoy the holy place.

This temple is situated on the Hill. You will find lot of people visiting to this place. Security is available through out and will keep the count on the vehicle going up with number of people. Might be you have to walk approximately for 400 meters since so many vehicles are there. On reaching to the temple you get the security check plus need to climb approximately 250 stairs to reach the temple but it's worth to reach and see the oldest temple and the 360 degree view of Srinagar

Aru Valley is a beautiful, calm and scenic place, During Pahalgam tour in March, 25 vusited this place. It can be reached by Union taxi frim Pahalgam. The meadows and snow-covered peaks looks very pleasant. There is on wild life sanctuary doesn’t have much to offer unless you’re extremely lucky to spot something unique. The place is good for short hikes and horse rides. The infrastructure and facilities are also quite basic.

Taking a taxi from Pahalgam taxi stand and take you to this beautiful valley. Picturesque landscape, green meadows, beautiful mountains, white sheeps just took me to a different world altogether after arriving here. There can be trekking and all done from here till the mountain top as well. The pictures clicked from here looks very aesthetic.

Just Gorgeous! Must visit whenever you go to Pahalgam. Take time and enjoy the view and the place, one should definitely take the whole day to explore Aru Valley. The route is also really beautiful. There are enough shops there for shopping as well as eating.

A breathtakingly beautiful valley! Betaab Valley in Pahalgam is a stunning destination, surrounded by lush green meadows, majestic mountains, and a serene river. A beautiful place, better than even sonamarg and remove the Gondola and it's better than Gulmarg too. Very few tourists, serene meadows, still very clean and calming. On the flip side, the route is not well maintained, facilities such as washrooms, restaurants, seating etc are in a very poor condition. Visited in winters, and so that may be a reason. Otherwise a beautiful meadow..

It is a beautiful valley of Kashmir. Distance from Srinagar is only 50km. Visiting places are- Doodh ganga river and false. Pony available to go to the spot from entrance. But you can go by walking. Getting down is easier but climbing up is bit difficult. Fruit and food stall also available there.

Sinthan top is breathtaking. a not to miss place for sure if you are an adverture seeker.

Visited in June 2024. It is a mountain pass and a popular tourist destination. Around 4hrs one-way drive from Srinagar. It is a starting point of many trekking routes to upper region. The location has frozen ice most of the time around the year and will snow even summer time if it rains. Moreover, the view during the drive up to the Top is wonderful. But it is not a proper spot for children. If you don't bring own warm cloths, then you can rent on the way and also on the top. However, check carefully and bargain. They tend to give faulty jacket and other items. Also you can find snow-jets for rent and they will take you little higher than the normal area. But the cost is too much high.

This view point is located at 12000ft high from sea level. Covered with snow at mere places even in June. Adventure activities like snow bike, sledging are available with higher cost. Wearing snow jackets, gloves and boots which are available in rental basis are advisable to enjoy the climate prevailant there. Worth visiting once in a lifetime.

Very nice and serene place. Less crowd than other popular attractions but much better experience. You can step out of your vehicle on to the snow directly. No need for any horse ride or local taxi.

Pilgrims travel to the shrine, which is managed by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, from the base town of Katra, a journey of about 13 km. I was in this temple with my friend. Mother will provide peace, prosperity and good health to the devotees.

Visiting Mata Vaishno Devi was a truly divine and unforgettable experience. This was my first time going through the Tarakote Marg, and I must say it was a wonderful choice. The entire path is very calm, clean, and beautifully surrounded by nature. Walking through the peaceful route with greenery and mountain views gave a deep sense of positivity and devotion. The arrangements along the way were also good — resting points, clean washrooms, and food facilities were easily available. The environment was safe and well-maintained, making the yatra comfortable for families and elderly people as well. Reaching the holy Bhawan and having darshan of Mata Rani was an emotional and spiritual moment. The chants of “Jai Mata Di” echoed everywhere, filling the air with divine energy. It truly felt like all worries disappeared and blessings showered upon us. Overall, it was a peaceful and heart-touching experience. I will always remember this first yatra through Tarakote Marg — full of faith, nature, and serenity. Jai Mata Di! 🙏

It reminded me of the Hadimba Temple in Manali. It doesn't have a luxurious appearance, but its simplicity reflects the humble nature of the mountain people. Surrounded beautifully by pine trees, the temple exudes a serene charm. A new concrete structure is still under construction, but I preferred the older one.

The temple on the lap of famous hill station of jammu & kashmir, patnitop. the temple is is almost 600 years old made by good and strong woodan material. During the Nag Panchami Festival, it sees hundreds of Shiva devotees, who throng to this temple to pay respects and worship the snake King Cobra. Standing amidst lush green surroundings, the temple is not only a significant religious center for the area, but also a site which leaves its visitors fascinated by the sceneries around.

I was there on 22nd march 2021. It was bucketing off that day. I had to go inside the temple bare foot and I experience bitter cold from feet. It was adventurous for me to stand barefoot on that marble and watching the sight.

Women can enter the temple premises but not allowed to enter the inner area. Temple is being renovated. New construction is in progress. Photography is allowed.

Must visit park of Jammu. One of the most beautiful and well maintained park of jammu located on the bank of Tawi river in Bahu named as Bagh-e-bahu. Ticket price is ₹24 /- person. You can stay there upto 7pm, after 7pm there is a water fountain show, whose tickets has to buy separately priced ₹100/- person. Overall a beautiful and must visit park beautiful designed and has a great view on many view points.🌲🏞️

It was amazing..! The garden outside the fort..and it has an aquarium... A must visit place in jammu.. very near to jammu city center. Amazing place. It takes 3-4 hours to roam around the entire garden.. so go well in time. Its so peaceful any time you visit there.

We visited this place in mid January and this place was so good to spend time with family; this place with vast area and flower garden and playground is enough to keep children occupied !

This garden is located at Bahu fort. Garden maintenance is ok. Could be improved. One can view Jammu city from the garden deck. There is a musical fountain with lights that starts only after sunset. As we were not aware of it we missed it.

Park is well maintained, but non accessible for specially a led people. Musical fountain staff are fraud, there is a big problem with power disruption and they do not have any backup. Staff runaway once power is gone. No refund, be careful with this.

Khajjiar Lake is situated in the middle of Khajjiar Valley. This is a small lake with lots of fishes. When we visited the lake most of the lake was covered with water grass. I think this lake need more maintenance.

Nice place. Much commercialized, but the beauty is superb, in the winters, when I got to see the frozen lake, making the place all white. I could only imagine, how much beautiful, it would be, if the place is remote with very less people. That would be gem in the middle of the forest. But the place is very much in demand, with lot of people visiting here & lot of business, activities, selling of products, etc going on. Resulting in lot of vehicles, traffic, mud, jams, horns, which takes away some of the serenity & beauty of the place. But, even then, a frozen lake is beautiful, which you mesmerize most. The place is, though quite clean, even after so much of human activities going on. Worth a visit. I visited Khajjiar shortly after the monsoon (one of the best seasons to visit). It is a sprawling green meadow with a marsh lake in the middle and surrounded all around by deodar trees. There is a cottage run by Himachal tourism situated right in the meadow (the iconic photo that you see when you search Khajjiar in Google), where you can book your stay through the Himachal tourism website. It was lush green and the weather was pleasant in September. The good thing about Khajjiar is that it's not overcrowded (yet). There is so much fresh air and tranquility. You can take a good walk around the perimeter and then sit on a bench and enjoy the view how much ever you want. This place is a great escapade from the noise and crowd of the city.

This is a small hamlet valley in the midst of mountain forests and high peaks. Its beautiful when cloudy and even prettier when sunny! Too many tourists, but it still holds on to its beauty. Happy to see, tourists have littered less here.

Trekking at Dainkund Peak was an unforgettable experience, offering a perfect blend of serenity and natural beauty. As I ascended the trail, a peaceful silence enveloped the surroundings, broken only by the soft rustling of leaves and the distant calls of birds. The path meandered through lush green meadows and dense forest patches, gradually leading me above the clouds. Walking amidst the mist and cool mountain breeze felt surreal—as if nature itself had paused in quiet admiration. From the summit, the panoramic view of the surrounding was breath taking. It was a soul-refreshing journey, where every step brought a deeper connection to nature.

Amazing trek with beautiful panaromic.views.It is highest point of Dalhousie.I would say more scenic and beautiful than Khajiaar.It takes hardly half an hour to reach top from base. Complete the trek to reach Pohani Mata temple. Please seek advice from locals in case of inclement weather

Trek is easy. First 600 meters of the treck is inclined after that it's easy and the path is straight. Pohlani mata temple is at the peak and you can view manimahesh kailash if there is no fog. And the view is so amazing literally so beautiful. If you're visiting Dalhousie you must go here.

One of the Best Place to visit Daikund Trek if you are planning to go to Dalhousie. It’s a 1.5 km trek. The gates will be closed on 4:00pm. Try to reach early. Must carry your water bottles, you will definitely need it. At the top there is a popular Pholani Devi Temple. View from the top is mesmerising. You will definitely love and enjoy it.

On return from Dharamshala to Chandigarh we planned to visit Masroor Rock cut temple. It is a real wonder as temples are built on one Rock just as in Ellora. Though temples were affected by 1905 earthquake but one can see the temple. Restoration work is going on and idols have been kept for worship. However no one is allowed to offer money.

A monolithic rock cut temple of around eighth century. The place is not so popular among tourists. The architecture is wonderful and amazing. Although it was damaged by the 1905 earthquake, still what remains is awesome. A must visit for history lovers.

Beautiful, humbling place. There was so much to experience from the Golden temple to the jora service to the langar service to the gold sewa workshop. The museums on-site are also there to serve as a reminder of the resilience that Sikhs have had to have to survive and become a large community. There are many gurudwaras and soravars (lakes) on-site to take amrat as well. To be able to sit under the trees that some of the Gurus had done so was also wonderful. A beautiful place to visit.

I have been to Kashi, Ujjain and every where u have to stand in queue. A lot of pushing touching, but here people are standing together with families but with pure energy and devotion to "Guru"🙏

visited Chintpurni Mata Temple in Amb, Una, and it was a truly blissful experience. We reached there by taxi, the road was smooth, though about half a kilometer before the temple it became a little sloppy. From the drop point, it was just a 10-minute walk to the shrine. The walk itself felt divine, surrounded by serenity and devotees. The temple is one of the Shakti Peethas, believed to be the place where the feet of Goddess Sati fell, making it a site of immense historical and spiritual importance. The aura inside the temple was filled with positive energy, giving me a deep sense of calm and strength. Overall, the visit was peaceful, well-organized, and spiritually uplifting. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking blessings, inner peace, and a connection with the divine.

It was great experience with family and friends. But maintance was very poor. We visit science city on Saturday and there was many school students came to visit also. If you are planning the visit, try to plan on week days not on holidays

This place is made to understand the basic concepts of science in a very interesting way. You must visit there once at this place. Very large area, I learned different topics of science there and also understand the basic structure and functioning of human body. It takes 5-6 hours to see all the things. Different topics are- Climate change, Laser show, Flight Simulator, Dome theatre and many more.

Nice place to visit. Particularly interesting for children. It is costly in terms of tickets and entertainement. But with the various activities, toy train, boating, shows, huge area, dinosaur park and children enjoyment, with paying the price. Some area was closed today but enough for the day. Normally they ask for package, you can take package which usually costs lower. There are many scenic area, if you like photography then I believe you should plan according for the day light or Sun light directions for best shots.

There is enough to keep curious kids interested, especially the Fun and Games oriented exhibits and installations. This place can take an entire day, so plan accordingly.

Its a beautiful place depicting the famous and fabulous culture of punjab... They charge you at the entry and then everything inside is free of cost..there are plenty of things to do inside... they have live dance performance also... Its a vast area..you will require a lot of time to visit every corner of this place..

The thali was good however there was no fresh safed makhan or makki ka roti or even gulab jamun. The chai was poor because there was no option for no sugar the ladies who made the parantha were never listening to my grandmother who is seventy years old and kept giving her rotis not fresh tawa ka parantha. And the dancing was great however the music is deafening. However the kulfi, dhai Bhalla were amazing, the magic show was great however the chuski was too sweet, I would not recommend bringing the elderly to eat the snacks as it was way too sweet. In the whole Havel was good however this rangale punjab was poor as they didn’t have that many Punjabi food

Great place to enjoy evening. Staff is very nice and food at stalls and main room was awesome. Everything we tasted was superb. It’s an entertainment for family of all ages. Only problem was with astrologer who seems to be a fraud….. used a same old story which frauds use to extract money from you by scaring you. We saw this in Chokhi Dhani Jaipur too but there the guy was good and gave us option.

Locatuon is good right at the highway. Inside atmosphere is good but areawise is not so big. Cultural programme is great. Punjab old cluture is displayed everywhere which is good to see if you have come for the first time Inside a big restaurant is there which is included in the entry ticket but frankly I didnt like the food inside and the biggest reason is - We had so many small meals/ food around the restaurant ( stalls everywhere like chaat, candys, ice cream etc) inside and we got full and there is no place left for the dinner. We suggest you to have the fresh baked roti with makkahn and chutney stall and enjoy other small meals ( chaat, pani puri, candys, ice cream kulfi, aam panna jaggery tea etc.), for diner you can opt after sometime post your digestion. Evrything is included in the entry ticket. Overall I feel the entry ticket 1000 is over priced as the place is not so big and also the food option is limited. One time visit is good.

For the Haryana ADO exam, my center was Govt Model High School, Sector 25, Block B, Chandigarh. It is located around 8-10 Km from Chandigarh railway station. Outside the exam center, on the notice board, the roll number and sitting arrangement were displayed. Inside the gate, a security check-up was done. They have the facilities for submitting mobiles, bags etc. free of cost. But, they have asked us to remove all the threads, religious threads from our hands (but it was not written on the admit card). Anyway, they have guided us along the route to our respective classroom. Drinking water and bathroom facilities are available. On the black board, the sitting arrangement, date, center details etc. are mentioned. Sir checked our admit card and identity proof. They have distributed question papers with a slight delay of 5 minutes (They have provided an extra 5 minutes for the exam for this reason). The exam was conducted properly without any disturbance. Overall, this center was good. Thank You! 🙏

Panjab University is one of the best university in the north India. I am doing Masters in Computer Applications from this university. University life is really good. University conducts many events especially in February- March. This university is ranked in world ranked universities also. Really grateful to be a part of this university. This university is my dream university and studying here is like dream came true. If you get chance to get admission here, just go for it. It is better than any private university, teachers are really good.

It is a best ever university in India 🇮🇳, it is known not only for its well planned infrastructural design of buildings and quality of education but also for its lifestyle and day to day life, which particular can be witnessed at Students Centre- a round shaped circular building housing various shops, eatery stalls for students… There are many shops and eating points here at Student centre, I always love to eat and have cup of coffee or tea here. One can have meal, fast foods like grilled sandwiches 🥪, burgers 🍔, pasta 🍝, spring roll, momos, salad 🥗, juice 🥤, shakes, snacks and many other eatable items at affordable price. Located in Lehal, a part of Patiala, it is famous for its curing properties for any ailments that anyone may be suffering from. Visitors have faith in abluting in the holy water of the pond here, because of its healing qualities. Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib's origin is tied to a villager named Bhag Ram from Lehal, who sought the blessings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to end a mysterious plague afflicting the area. In January 1672, the Guru visited Lehal, spending time by the village pond, preaching and meditating under a banyan tree. His presence and meditation led to the plague's eradication. Consequently, the site where Guru Ji meditated came to be known as Dukhnivaran, meaning "the end of all sufferings", and this name was given to the Gurudwara. Between 1748 and 1782, Raja Amar Singh of Patiala established a garden in honour of Guru Tegh Bahadur's special visit, entrusting its care to Nihang Sikhs. Court records from 1870 mention a garden belonging to the Guru and a well, used by the Nihangs. In 1920, plans to build a railway line threatened the banyan tree where Guru Tegh Bahadur had sat, but workers refused to cut it down. Consequently, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh cancelled the project. Although a Gurudwara had not yet been built, a committee was formed in 1930 to raise funds and begin construction. Twelve years later, in 1942, the building was completed under the supervision of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh, a devout Sikh. True to its name, Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib is believed to alleviate grief for those who visit with a pure heart and offer sincere prayers.
