This is an ancient city, but now its more important significance is the resistance in the war.This castle was basically completely destroyed during the war with France. Now many schools or units use it as a patriotic education base.
Hope it can be better protected and developed

It was so touchful to visit this place. I got a chance to understand more about history of my dear Viet Nam. People from the past, fought by all their lives, just to gain peace for us - our young generation. I almost cried when reading the letter from a sodier who wrote about his coming dead, left his last words to his family...If you love hisfory, please do not skip this place.
The most famous and historical place in Quang Tri town (previously). The symbol of strong survival of Vietnamese people through the tough time 81 days against the enemy. Refrain to visit here during special occasion like independent day Sep 2nd or Jul 27th… there will be huge people here.

A church was built near three banyan trees, the supposed site of the apparition. The Holy See recognized it as the Minor Basilica of La Vang in 1961. The original church was destroyed by bombs in 1972 during the Vietnam War, leaving only its bell tower.

Wow! What an amazing place. Totally unexpected. Huge property based around a bombed church. Many religious statues and a huge new building with a blue roof. Great for a quick visit.

Beautiful pagoda right by the perfume river. Visited one late afternoon in August and it was very busy with tourists on tours. But the grounds are very peaceful if you keep walking back. Some monks were even playing badminton with public.

A beautiful and unique place, the pagoda sits on a hill, peaceful and serene, right next to the picturesque Perfume River. There are tasty local foods and great seating spots by the river. Nearby you can enjoy kayaking, swimming in the river, and listening to the famous Hue folk songs. Inside the pagoda, many relics and valuable information about the Nguyen Dynasty (Vietnam’s last feudal dynasty) are preserved. The pagoda also houses a great bell recognized as a national treasure.
A small complex comprised of the pagoda and a temple above stone steps. The pagoda faces the perfume river, which used to be perfumed by flowers flowing down from the vicinity. The pagoda is not open for entry, but you can still admire the piece of preserved history. The temple in the back is open for visitors, but please show respect and follow the rules in terms of clothing and decorum.
We visited Thiên Mụ Pagoda as part of our shore excursion from the cruise ship, and it ended up being one of the nicest stops on the tour. The pagoda sits on a hill overlooking the Perfume River, and the views alone make the visit worthwhile. The grounds are peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to walk around and take photos.
The architecture is elegant and iconic, especially the seven-story tower at the entrance. Inside the complex, the gardens, pathways, and temple buildings create a calm and serene atmosphere that feels less crowded than other major attractions.
Our guide shared the history and significance of the pagoda, which added depth to the experience. Even without a guide, the cultural and spiritual presence of the site comes through clearly.
Overall, Thiên Mụ Pagoda is a beautiful and relaxing place to visit in Huế. It is easy to explore, offers great river views, and is an excellent stop on any cruise tour or day trip.
Lovely pagoda overlooking the river. Very nice and tranquil and free to walk in/around. The grounds are much larger than it looks and in the back is a courtyard full of large bonsais. In the very back is a miniature pagoda with its own courtyard
A quaint tourist spot. It is serene, sleepy and yet charming. This spot is especially enticing when there are not a lot of tourists around and you are left on your own.
The history of this spot is already covered on other sites, so I am not going over it.
the pagoda was built during Nguyen Dynasty in the early 17th century, regarded as the most well-known pagoda in Hue. The traditional architecture style looks simple but solemn and peaceful. A bit noisy with many tourists in the morning, will be more quiet in the late afternoon or sunset time.
Thien Mu Pagoda isn’t just a landmark in Hue — it’s the iconic pagoda that feels like a serene gateway back in time. Perched on a hill overlooking the Perfume River, it’s a place where history, spirituality, and stunning architecture all come together.
The star of the show is, of course, the seven-story pagoda itself. Standing tall and proud, it looks like a guardian watching over the city. As you walk through the entrance with its fierce guardian statues, you can’t help but feel a little humbled — and maybe slightly judged for all your past sins (don’t worry, they seem forgiving).
Inside the grounds, there’s so much to see: intricate statues, the ancient bell that’s as impressive as it is photogenic, and peaceful gardens perfect for a reflective stroll. The atmosphere is calm, even with visitors around, and it’s easy to imagine what life must have been like centuries ago when this was a bustling center of worship.
Pro tip:
Wear comfortable shoes — the steps are historic (translation: uneven), and take a moment to just sit quietly and enjoy the breeze by the river. It’s also a fantastic spot for photography, so bring your camera or phone fully charged.
Overall, Thien Mu Pagoda is a must-visit while in Hue. Whether you’re there for the history, the architecture, or just a bit of soul-soothing calm, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve gained a little perspective… and probably a lot of great photos. 📸

I have experience many vicissitudes of history of Vietnam over centuries from many dynasties until Vietnam became a republic. The imperial city is still a long lasting and remain one of the most cherished values. Visitors will be able to learn about the 13 Nguyen dynasty kings who ruled Vietnam from 18th century to 1945. The many palace buildings that spread across the big compound was nice and grand and somehow you will feel that history has come alive from walking around. Note that the traveller could be spending half a day for walking tour.

You could get an idea of how important the defences were in times gone by. Shame you couldn't get to upper levels in the towers. Take time to have a walk if you're in the area.
Go between June and August for better weather. Still, such a great day trip from Da Nang with its rich history and passionate restoration work. You will see some Vietnamese locals dressed up in traditional wear taking photos, making the experience even more surreal.

Hundred years ago, it used to a enormous and glorious palace. Sadly, many constructions are damaged, though they are being restored, could not bring back the original spirit of the place. The atmosphere was quite sad in a rainy day.
Come to the palace for a photo op, especially in traditional costumes. It's not a particularly interesting place for a casual tour, but it's beautiful in its details. If you're visiting on a sunny day, be sure to bring an umbrella, as there's very little shade.
Overall, it was a solid experience, though I expected a bit more. The complex is huge, but the overall layout could be better organized. I didn’t take the audio guide because I don’t like using headphones — probably a mistake. The descriptions of the monuments were quite minimal and not very engaging. I also chose a bad day to visit since it was extremely hot.

If you're taking a Grab, it seems like the drop-off point is set too far. So you can just stop near the new bridge, which will open on March 26, 2025. On the map, Grab directs you all the way to the end, which is a very quiet area with only two or three tofu stalls, where vendors aggressively offer you tofu. A bowl of tofu is only 10k VND, and it's actually quite good—just like a typical local experience. So you should give it a try!
Took a ~25 minutes boat ride for VND150K per pax. Nothing amazing, views were mehhh. Could be skipped.
The Perfume River runs gracefully through Hue, adding charm to the city with its calm flow and romantic scenery. A boat ride at sunset is unforgettable, with the golden light reflecting on the water. I enjoyed every moment and will highly recommend my friends to experience this magical river.
Great River and site to visit in Hue. We took a night boat to listen to the palace music show. It was great and price is not expensive. Highly recommend!

The people selling boat rides WILL rip you off. A 200k ride for an hour quickly became 200k per person. Then our 1 hour ride was over in 15 minutes.

A peaceful place to admire the amazing skyline of Hue. It is ideal for a stroll along the riverbank and the park nearby. It was pity that we couldn't enjoy Hue folk song performances due to bad weather.

This is the best nice river flow through the a city in Viet Nam.
Its name "Sông Hương" meaning Perfume river.
Once upon a time, the Nguyen empire choose this city because the river and the sight so harmony with nature.
If you come to Hue. Take a dragon boat cruise along the river. Visit Thien Mu pagoda and tomb of the king. The boats and the river gives you an insight into the fisher families and Hue culture.

The Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc is a stunning tomb and temple complex that pays tribute to the 19th-century ruler in a picturesque setting with a lily pond. Situated near the center of Hue city, this mausoleum is renowned for its harmonious structure and elegant architecture, standing out as one of the most beautiful mausoleums from the Nguyen Dynasty.
This was by far my favorite mausoleum in Hue. It is set within stunning gardens filled with tall pine trees, peaceful ponds, and traditional Vietnamese architecture. It’s a beautifully laid-out complex with lots of open space to walk around, relax, and take in the views.
The area is well maintained and shows great care in its restoration efforts. Everything from the stone paths to the wooden pavilions feels thoughtfully preserved. The large lake in the center reflects the buildings and trees beautifully, adding to the tranquil atmosphere.
We spent about 45 minutes here, but you could easily stay longer if you enjoy photography or just want to soak up the peaceful surroundings. It wasn’t too crowded when we went, which made it even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend this one if you’re visiting Hue—especially if you’re only picking one or two mausoleums to explore. It combines natural beauty, history, and serenity all in one place.

Stunning beyond my wildest expectations. I could have spent hours there other than for the heat. Without question the visit here has been my highlight of the whole trip to Hue. Early, early morning or very late afternoon most highly recommended.
This isn't the most popular of the tombs, but it's the most interesting. There's a large park here, where you can stroll in the shade or sit by the lake. Plus, it's close to the city, so it's easy to just wander around in the pleasant atmosphere.
The resting place of Tu Duc King, the longest-reigning emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. This mausoleum is one of the four most beautiful mausoleums in Hue, famed for its poetic and elegant architecture. This enormous construction has 2 main parts: palace and tomb. Take time too walk around and explore this place!
Personally I preferred this over the other royal tombs in the area. The site was much larger than I thought it would be, and was lovely to walk around. The grounds were serine and very well kept. Not many information plaques that I could find so maybe an audioguide would be good. Lots of trees so plenty of opportunity to stay in the shade on sunny days.
The Tomb of Tu Duc is a truly serene and beautiful place. It's not just a tomb, but a huge complex of pavilions, temples, and lakes, all set within a peaceful, pine-covered valley. The architecture is stunning, reflecting the emperor's poetic and romantic nature. You can easily spend an hour or two here, walking around the grounds and enjoying the tranquility. It's a must-visit if you're in Huế!

A spacious mausoleum with lakes, pavilions, and tree-lined paths. Its style is more classic and modest compared to others, but it offers beautiful corners to walk around. We expected it to be quieter, but there were quite a few people when we visited. Still, it’s worth seeing for its historical value and peaceful setting.

Peaceful and Majestic
The Tomb of Minh Mạng is one of the most impressive royal tombs in Huế. The architecture is stunning — perfectly symmetrical, with beautiful pavilions, lotus ponds, and quiet paths surrounded by nature. It feels peaceful and grand at the same time. A great place to learn about history and enjoy a calm, scenic walk. Definitely worth including on your Huế itinerary!
This mausoleum is very spacious, with beautiful gardens, lakes, and traditional architecture. It feels more peaceful compared to some of the other tombs, and walking around gives you a good sense of history and nature combined.
I visited on a day with pleasant weather and only light, short rain, which made the experience enjoyable and refreshing. The site is quite large, so be prepared to walk a bit, but the scenery is worth it.

Absolutely beautiful and breath-taking. Every area was like stepping back into history. I paid for the audio tour guide but I don't think it was very worth it cuz it just had some description of the place, not much about the usage or purpose of that area. It was raining a bit so there was no other visitors there, soooo nice.
Unfortunately, our visit here was a real disappointment. It’s not hard to imagine (but we could only imagine) how this might be a lovely place to visit but within a five minute walk from the entrance all else was blocked from further view as all paths leading deeper in to the mausoleum’s premises were blocked by construction, and even near the entrance, little effort seemed to have been made to preserve what should be the serenity and beauty of the place. We strongly feel that this mausoleum should be closed to the public until construction and dredging are complete, or that the entrance fee should either be waived or drastically reduced.
A stunning and peaceful site, beautifully set among lakes, gardens, and pine trees. The symmetry of the layout is impressive, and every gate, bridge, and pavilion feels perfectly placed. Built in 1843, the tomb reflects Emperor Minh Mang’s vision of harmony between architecture and nature. It’s a relaxing place to walk around, with plenty of shade and photo spots. Definitely one of Hue’s most scenic imperial tombs and well worth visiting.
Rented a bike and drive here. Near a beautiful lake and surrounded by water. It makes for a nice walk around. We came mid afternoon on a super hot day so needed to grab some drinks at the entrance and again on the exit. There is toilets and drinks and some food options here. We came on a week day. You pay to park a scooter but they don’t seem to charge locals but price is small. Not as big as we were led to believe but worth visiting.

Laguna is a stunning golf course. I would recommend any golf enthusiast to try it out. I am my friends were blown away by the landscape.
The course isn't the toughest, and the caddies were helpful. The food was generally good at the clubhouse, too.
My only gripe was about some of the policies and other customers. I didn't feel the need to deduct a star, but it needed to be noted.
There is a policy of no driving the golf cart on the fairway. However, a team of locals behind us were allowed to. We were told one of them had an injury, but then why was he on the course?
Also, another group we ran across were quite impolite an uncivilised. Not exactly the course's problem, but it did give some wrong impression

Spectacular in every way. Awesome hold course. Great layout. Greens could have been better but they have just been sanded. I highly recommend.
Couple of things that really wet a bad tone here...
1. Driving range charge for balls .. at a place like this that is ridiculous.
2. Caddie made me wait until exactly my tee time although I was a 1 ball and teeing off first at 6am
3. Water is charged at $7 usd a bottle...
4. Course condition is horrific, ground staff everywhere blowing non existent leaves whilst the greens die from compaction. The head greenskeeper should be fired immediately.
The course layout is great but the condition combined with the cost makes it a hard no from me. I will not be back.
In the condition we played on it’s a 1 star. T box to fairway 8/10 condition, around the greens 4/10 and putting greens1/10. Course should be more forthcoming about the greens rather than hiding behind fancy promo names why there are specials. Very disappointed as we spent over an hour driving each way to course after flying to Danang . Yes, discounted but if we had known how bad the greens are we would not have played here.

I and the most wonderful tome yesterday at this great course. I first saw a picture of the 9th hole in a magazine years ago and that made me always want to go. It lived up to my expectations and more. The service is outstanding and the owners should be very proud of all of the staff, from the greeters, to the girls in the shop, the people in the bar and restaurant and the people in the locker room. The groundstaff working hard were all friendly along with the caddies and course Marshall.. the staff here are ALL Outstanding and wonderful. The course itself is either my favourite or 2nd favourite in Vietnam, its very close. The design is fantastic, even hole is different. I absolutely loved it.
In my opinion, this is the most beautiful golf course in Vietnam.

Lang Co Beach is a popular tourist destination located in a fishing village. It offers beautiful sandy shores and clean waters, making it an ideal spot for a refreshing getaway. If you love tourist traps this ins't the place for you, this is an authentic Vietnamese beach/fishing village. The south side of the beach was clean, quiet and tranquil. There are touristy food and drink options to the north although there are plenty of local options in the village. Bring a blanket and buy your drinks in one of the local shops in the village.

This is fairly quiet beach when we visited today at 11am. Barely six people were swimming here despite a massive beach. Lots of fresh seafood restaurants line the beach.
Unfortunately there are some uncared for trash that line the beach but if you ignore that, the water is very pleasant to swim in.
The beach is surrounded by private properties, so to visit, you have to go through the road of a resort. But the road to get there is beautiful.
Nice pitstop between Hue and Danang. Great for some views and a cool drink.

The Mercure French Village is a beautiful hotel and a lovely place to stay. We really appreciated having direct access to the park, and our room was modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and always helpful, which made the stay even better. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of foods. The only downside for me was the smell of cigarette smoke in the bedroom but overall we truly enjoyed our stay.
I had a wonderful trip here with my family. However, there were a few issues regarding our room. Fortunately, a very helpful staff member assisted us. Her name is SUNI. She enthusiastically advised me on the room options, pricing, and the services available, which made my trip much smoother.
Due to the unexpected nature of my work, I had to leave the hotel before I could thank her in person. Please help convey my gratitude to Ms. SUNI.

I came back here after a year, this time with my family on my birthday. The weather in November up here is quite harsh in my opinion =))) so my experience wasn’t exactly perfect. The food didn’t suit my taste, the room was noisy because of the neighbors, and the interior and architecture seem to have deteriorated. These issues were already present the first time I visited in May 2024, but they still haven’t been improved.
Perhaps the only thing that really impressed me was the customer service. A family member of mine had dinner here and ended up with food poisoning. Fortunately, a staff member named SUNI and the medical team quickly came to help and were extremely attentive. Luckily, my family member is okay now.
I hope that next time I come, the hotel will still be operating and will have renovated the rooms so the trip can be more enjoyable.
You should visit here in spring or summer for a better experience, as winter can be quite rough
Outstanding. I travelled with 2 elderlies, one not too mobile. They had wheelchairs waiting for us and helping us with luggage.
If we had any concerns, they fixed it straight away. They communicated really well.

First time staying at Mercure French Village. I love the design of the hotel; it makes me feel like I am in the middle of a French city. I really appreciate the excellent service from Lucia. She added me on WhatsApp and promptly replied to all of my requests. During our trip to Ba Na Hills, there were many things I didn’t understand, and she assisted me by answering all my questions. I am truly grateful to her.
We also had the chance to have dinner at L’ETable! The food was amazing, and the service from Mira was exceptional. She took great care of us during dinner at L’ETable and also during breakfast. We were really happy with her service.

If you book a stay at Hotel Mercure French Village, there is a dedicated area for you to drop off your car and check in. They can sell you discounted cable car and Ba Na Hills tickets, so you won’t have to queue with other travelers. There is a specific cable car reserved just for hotel guests.
Also, the next day, from 06:00–06:05 am, 06:30–06:35 am, and 07:00–07:05 am, the hotel offers an early cable car service to the Golden Bridge exclusively for hotel guests. This allows you to escape the crowds and take photos in peace.

Set amid lush greenery, this popular park features a wave pool, lazy river, slides & hot springs.
I was able to enter without waiting at all! The park is quite spacious, but there are staff members along the way who kindly guide you, so you never get lost. Towels are not provided, so make sure to bring your own. It was super fun because there was almost no waiting time for the attractions — I could enjoy them one after another! The park wasn’t crowded, so I could move around comfortably. I highly recommend playing in the water park zone and finishing your day with a relaxing hot spring bath.
There’s a dragon-shaped attraction in the main zone that seems to operate for only about an hour between 1 and 2 p.m., and it’s incredibly fun — definitely a must-try! Highly recommended!

We stayed here for a night at the hotel. The room was good, the staff was friendly. My boyfriend was even brought a small cake in honor of his birthday. That was very nice.
Overall the place is nice, located amongst picturesque mountains. Large swimming pools where you can take a refreshing dip. For hot springs, however, it is better to come not in hot weather.
All in all it's pretty good, but I would like to enjoy the sounds of nature. Instead of this, from everywhere you can hear only music from speakers and something incomprehensible in Vietnamese. It's not appropriate at all! It was impossible to relax because of this, so it was very noisy. And also on the territory there was construction, which also very much interfered with the enjoyment of nature.
I liked the bird park. BUT!!! Please do not keep the birds on a chain!!! They also want to move freely!
It is a huge place with free buggy car and no need to wait for a long time because they always ready and most of the staff there speaks English. They have a lot of pool, but one of them isn't operating during my visit. Definitely a cool place to go with family, they have a lot of food area with affordable prices. Buying ticket in advance is very recommended. Be cautious with which special bath you choose because some of the ticket don't inclusive all in. It's a bit confusing with so many type of bath, but you'll enjoy all the relaxation bath there including the hot springs bath. I just wish they would give easier zonation so I didnt have to be confused with all the area mapping. Overall a good place to relaxing onsen but if you're with kids the water park, jurassic park would be nice area for them.

Looking for a place to relax and have some fun in Da Nang? Than Tai Hot Spring Park is a great choice. Not only can you soak in the healthy hot mineral water, but you can also do a bunch of other cool stuff like slide down the lazy river or use the sauna.
With the awesome scenery and tons of different things to do, it’s a perfect spot for a day of relaxing and having a good time.
Hi everyone, we visited this place recently as a group, our experience was great, the place is big, many activities to take part in but take note most of them are for children, this place is not mainly aimed at adults but families, both on land and water activities, very nice place for children, we loved the different baths available cold, warm, hot, and the mud bath especially, worth your visit there, not sure if you are going to go here more then one time, the food was acceptable but not the most tasty in my opinion, as expected from buffet made for so many customers, views are nice just check the pictures before going

Wouldn’t recommend people to go unless you’re like a hot springs fan. Our tour guide left us there from 10am to 2.30pm and thank goodness i signed up for the spa which was okay. Wouldn’t spend that money for stuff like this honestly. You have to pay extra for the spa and the mud bath. Hot springs are divided into a few sections but they are all situated at the same spot. Was kind of clean and they provide slippers if you don’t wanna wear yours. Locker room was pretty far away from these places. Didn’t go to the water park and bird park but if you wanna go to these places they have a driver to pick you up which will save you a lot of time. Remember to get your own waterproof phone bag if u wanna come because they don’t have a place for you to leave your stuff close to the places with water. Only place to keep your stuff is the locker room. Buffet in the restaurant wasn’t really good but it’s far away so it’s hard to get food elsewhere. Wouldn’t come back here again honestly.

One of the best musems we found in Vietnam. The amount of excavation present here is truly outstanding. It speaks volumes on the rich Hindu presence in this region in the past. Being a Hindu myself I feel immensely proud and surprised to understand how ancient this religion actually is.
Most of the artifacts from My Son Sanctuary have been relocated here, and their long history is truly impressive.
It’s amazing how well the ancient sandstone bricks have been preserved.
The entrance fee is reasonable, and I highly recommend visiting if you have time or are interested in historical artifacts.
This museum offers a breathtaking glimpse into Champa culture, featuring over 400 artifacts on display. Each piece tells a story, showcasing the artistry and heritage of this fascinating civilization. While the museum is definitely worth a visit, it lacks air conditioning, relying instead on a few fans for ventilation, which can make it warm during hotter months. I recommend visiting around 3:30 PM when the temperature is more manageable. Overall, the museum provides a rich and educational experience that is not to be missed for anyone interested in Champa history.

the Champa Sculpture Museum is a gem for anyone curious about Central Vietnam’s history and art. The museum itself is beautiful—creamy-yellow colonial buildings, leafy courtyards with frangipani, and calm galleries that feel like a sanctuary from the city buzz.
Inside, the collection is outstanding. You’ll see exquisitely carved sandstone sculptures from ancient Champa sites like Mỹ Sơn, Trà Kiệu, Đồng Dương, and Tháp Mẫm. Highlights include graceful apsaras and dancers, majestic images of Shiva and Ganesha, delicate lintels and pedestals, and the symbolic linga–yoni altars. The carvings are full of movement and detail—flowing jewelry, expressive faces, and swirling floral motifs—and the lighting does a great job of revealing their texture.
I appreciated how the galleries are laid out by region/period, which makes the story of Cham culture easy to follow. Labels are clear (with English and Vietnamese), and many rooms have maps or context about trade routes, religion, and daily life. Staff are polite and helpful, and the vibe is peaceful—perfect for slowing down and really looking. The little garden courtyards, with statues set among trees, are lovely spots to pause for photos.

I go for massages whenever I travel around Southeast Asia, and this place offers one of the best I've tried. Their service is impeccable. Drinks and a snack are served before the massage, and the same are served with dessert after. We came here to wind down after the rain and it was the most beautiful and luxurious experience. We had a couple's body scrub which was so relaxing. The ladies were very gentle and spoke English well. We were treated with tea and biscuits on arrival, and when we finished we were given delicious desserts. The environment is incredibly welcoming and all the rooms (aside from lobby) are private and secure. 100% reccomend the best value spa you will find around!

Went to this place on a weekday and it was not very crowded so it was good as we can walk freely at our own place :-!.
We enjoyed the beautiful sea view, admired all the big yet nicely grown bonsais, took pictures of several dogs that seem to enjoy nothing but zzz…. Not forgetting the mischievous monkeys!

The story of how Lady Buddha protects Da Nang and surrounding areas from typhoons was appealing, the macaques in the grounds are quick to steal things (anything in plastic bags as they think there’s food for them) from unsuspecting tourists. Charming bonsai gardens in front of the temple too!
I recently visited Son Tra Mountain in Vietnam, and it was an unforgettable experience. The views of Da Nang from the top were absolutely breathtaking, and the fresh mountain air was so refreshing. Walking around the Linh Ung Pagoda and seeing the majestic Lady Buddha statue up close was a serene moment. The winding roads through lush greenery made the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Da Nang! There is a Buddha statue which is picturesque.
In early September, at 8am, it is very hot. Shadows are harsh and it is not the best for photos. The few attractions along Huong Sa road and Ban Co peak took us a total of 4 hours. We booked a car for 1,500,000 vnd. For a cheaper option, use the grab app and choose "rent by the hour". It is probably half of what we paid.
This was the 1st stop of our Monkey Mountain – Marble Mountains – Coconut Jungle – Hoi An City Full-day tour. There are several monkeys, so be careful about open food etc, although we did not see any monkey coming close to tourists. The Son Tra mountain is like 20-30 min from the beach hotels and also called Monkey Mountain. A giant statue of Lady Buddha with a beautiful background such as mountains and a huge garden of bonsai would draw your attention. The Linh Ung Pagoda going inside would need knees covered, is what i recollect. Overall a nice place.
If you’re a big fan of monkeys, you might be a bit disappointed with Monkey Mountain. We only saw one during our visit. However, if you appreciate bonsai, you’ll find the beautifully maintained plants scattered throughout the premises truly delightful.
The temple on Monkey Mountain is stunning, featuring a larger version of the pagodas found at Marble Mountain. It was amazing to see the humongous Guan Yin statue up close. The view of the city from the perspective of the big statue is absolutely glorious. Despite the scarcity of monkeys, the combination of beautiful bonsai, impressive temples, and breathtaking views made the visit worthwhile.
The monkeys are WILD, got to see a monkey attack in person 10/10.
FYI no automatic bikes allowed and there is a security checkpoint to check but we were able to rent a semi auto from the guard for 100k VND just to drive up to the top.
Beautiful view of Da Nang from the top as well so definitely worth the trip.

I always went swimming during the hot days. The water here is shallow. There's no area where your feet touch the water, so there's no danger. The sand is like flour. It's so soft that you can hear a crunching sound. It's hard to shake it off. ^^ I went swimming at 7 p.m. There's no one there, and it feels like a swimming pool. My Vietnamese friend said he's going to Hoi An. He said it's quiet and different from the beach here. I picked up some trash. There's a lot of marine debris here too, but less than Vung Tau. You can't experience the deep waters of Nha Trang in February. The safe waters, comfortable sand, and subtropical sky make for a beautiful view.

Really beautiful and peaceful beach. It’s clean, quiet, and not crowded even in the morning. The sand is soft and the water is clear, with barely any trash around which is nice to see.
I went for a walk here around sunrise and it was super calming — just the sound of waves and a few locals jogging or swimming. Definitely one of the nicer beaches I’ve been to in Vietnam. Perfect spot to relax and unwind.
It's a beach with a really extensive stretch of sand and a well-structured, urbanized boardwalk, which is great for walking. Access is completely free. Despite its fame, I had mixed feelings, as the water wasn't very clean. An important point is that, for safety reasons, the lifeguards restrict the swimming area to a specific space. This causes all the swimmers to get quite crowded, but it is a necessary measure. It's beautiful to see, but these details detracted from the swimming experience.

The beach is known for its long stretch of fine white sands and the picturesque boardwalk. The gentle waves is great for swimming and relaxing. You can chill at a lounger chair while sipping on your favorite drinks.

Popular, loud & busy if that’s what you like. My teens loved it. Stayed at a hotel along this strip and the traffic was bumper to bumper & noisy, with loud music until late at night. I love the serenity of AnBang beach instead, even though that can be busy at times, you haven’t got the extra loudness.
The beach is lovely even if the weather is not great at the moment. Its a very nice place for a walk and plenty of choices for refreshment

The location is stunning. I took a grab from the hotel and my driver gladly waited for me since it can be difficult to get one depending on the time you go. I would highly recommend being there at 7 am before the tourist buses arrive. The early morning time is peaceful and you are able to soak it in with out fighting with the posers. The bonsai trees are beautiful along with the view. Unfortunately I did not see any monkies when there.

Excellent place to visit. The temples were all awesome. Great picture taking opportunities. I took a grab there and had no problems getting one back to my hotel. A must visit while in DaNang. I was there for over two hours. Do not feed the monkeys. Don’t forget to make donations at each temple as that’s the cost of admission.

Peaceful place to visit and is always very clean. There are a few pagodas until you reach the statue and a lot of lovely shaped idols.
Below the pagoda there is a temple which is very nice and important for the locals.

More Than Just a Photo Op
We initially underestimated Lady Buddha, assuming it was a quick photo stop. Boy, were we wrong! This site deserves a dedicated visit. The views of Da Nang across the water are simply breathtaking. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, not only with large bonsai trees but also with intriguing statues. There are temples for Buddhists to pray, just remember to remove your shoes before entering as a sign of respect. This place is worth exploring, so don't rush through it!

I did enjoyed it. Easy to spend 1h there. Loved the caves, obviously the mains one, but also tiny Van Thong cave (if you up for tiny places and a bit of scrambling - this is good place).
Entrance to mountain 40k, if you want a lift thats 15k more - there is no many stairs to climb at gate 2 up and then anyway plenty of steps. If you entering at gate 1- thats definitely much more steps up.
Am phu cave definitely worth visiting, but it extra 20k

Visiting these mounzains was such an amazing experience! From the moment you step inside, you can feel how ancient and powerful this place is. The formations are absolutely stunning, and the caves themselves are enormous, much larger than I expected. Walking through them feels like exploring another world hidden beneath the surface. Everything is beautifully lit, making it easy to take in all the incredible details. The entrance fee is only 40K VND, which is really affordable for such a memorable and breathtaking adventure. There were 2 options to reach mountain top one by taking elevator till 5th floor and then walk or else by trekking or walking via mountain stairs.

This is a must go place for any tourist travelling to da nang. Best to go early as this place opens at 7am. There is lot of walking up the stairs. So carry water and be prepared to explore the pagodas and mesmerizing caves. Also donot miss the highest point of the peak here which gives a beautiful view of the city and the sea
The views from the top are beautiful, even in a bit of rain, and the climb through the caves and pagodas is interesting without being too exhausting. The area feels peaceful and well-maintained, and there’s plenty to explore — temples, statues, and little pathways that make you feel like you’re discovering hidden spots. It’s a nice mix of nature and culture, and much more relaxing and enjoyable than the crowded tourist traps. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in the area
Marble Mountains was a great experience. The entrance ticket is only 40,000 VND, and the elevator is very convenient — 15,000 VND per ride (30,000 VND round-trip). I spent about 1.5–2 hours exploring the caves, pagodas and viewpoints. Everything is well-organized, and the views over Da Nang are fantastic. Definitely worth visiting while in the area.
The Ngu Hanh Son (five elements mountains) OR Marble Mountains, are actually a cluster of FIVE marble and limestone hills, located in Da Nang, Vietnam.
The five mountains are named after the five elements: Kim (metal), Thuy (water), Moc (wood), Hoa (fire) and Tho (earth).
All 5 have cave entrances, tunnels and Buddhist sancturies.
It is still possible to climb to the summit of Mount Thuy, (the only mountain accessible for visitors) a 156 steps distance, which gives great views from its summit.
The mountains were in fact close to American Marble Mountain Air Facility, during the Vietnam War. Those days, the Marble Mountains contained a secret hospital for the Vietcong.
The Marble Mountains are home to several Buddhist and Hindu grottoes too including Huyen Khong and Tang Chon, and many Hindu and Buddhist sanctuaries like the temples of Tam Thai, Tu Tam, Linh Ung, and the pagoda of Pho Dong.
The sanctuaries feature statues and depictions of religious scenes, carved out of the marble itself.
Even though one loves every bit of this Earth's geography and has the best in mind to preserve its nature, it was still fascinating to note, as to how anyone or for that matter, people generally, can make use of natural elements in such a perfect way. Carving or chipping out marble must have been extremely, mind and time consuming, and that to do so, without faults? ... amazing.

My Son is a captivating historical site located in the serene Duy Phu Commune of Quang Nam Province, approximately 69 km southwest of Danang. This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases the remnants of Hindu temples built between the 4th and 14th centuries, characterized by stunning red brick structures adorned with intricate carvings. Once an imperial city during the Cham dynasty, My Son served as a significant cultural and religious hub for this ancient civilization.
Highly recommend adding this to your Vietnam itinerary! The site is beautiful and has so much history. You are able to walk around and go inside many of the buildings. There are three sites to visit and there is a pavilion which has a show a couple times a day. There is also a small restaurant on the property.

We visited very early today (~7AM) and we were the first guests to enter the area which was very nice. Overall we had a nice morning there and the temples, altars and other Chamba buildings were very interesting.
Can highly recommend to do the tour with a guide.
Nice historic site made of ancient ruined Hindu temples easily accessible from Danang and Hoi An. We visited in low rainy season and were the only visitors on site which was quite spectacular in many ways !
If you feel like walking a bit, it is only a 2-km walk from the entrance to the site and quite a lovely journey.
There is a 15-minute traditional show at the end of the tour to close the visit. First show of the day this time of year was at 9:45am. Therefore all tourist buses and groups are not aiming to arrive on site before 8:30-9:00.

Was very nice. There is shows and you can just walk imdividually if you feel like. There is also tours if you like that. Entry is 150 k Dong. It is so well maintained and definitely worth a visit. The Temples are impressive.
A great little morning trip out of Hoi An. Very interesting site in a really lovely location. Come with a guide and you’ll learn a lot. We did an early morning guided tour from Hoi An, arriving at My Son at 6.30am and it was perfect time, so quiet and you got to have a really open and comfortable experience.
Visiting My Son was an unforgettable experience! The site is incredibly atmospheric, surrounded by lush greenery, and the ancient temples and ruins are absolutely fascinating. Walking through the area really gives you a sense of the history and culture of the Champa Kingdom.
We were amazed by the architecture and the peacefulness of the site. It’s less crowded than other tourist spots, which makes it even more special to explore at your own pace. A visit to My Son is a must for anyone traveling to Vietnam, both for history lovers and anyone who enjoys beautiful, serene landscapes.

All jokes aside, this Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is an incredible UNESCO world heritage site that is definitely worth it if you are in the region. There is so much to see when walking amongst these ruins that would have been a prominent religious place in their day. The carvings, sculptures, and feeling of walking up stairs and through chambers that people worshipped in centuries ago is a timeless reminder of our human spirit.
Logistically, We rode a scooter there from Hoi An, sweated through our clothes in the heat, then had coconut coffees. Magical.

An Bang Beach, located just 3 kilometers east of Hoi An, is a serene escape that beautifully combines natural beauty with local charm. This picturesque beach features soft white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing or enjoying the gentle waves. The area is lined with charming beach huts and offers a variety of eateries where you can savor fresh seafood and refreshing cocktails while soaking in stunning views of Da Nang Bay and the Marble Mountains.
It's a nice beach with fine sand. I went there during week days so it wasn't busy. The beach is clean and water temperature is perfect to cool down. There are a few vendors trying to sell you stuff but they are very polite and might have a quick chat with you.

A great spot to unwind, An Bang Beach offers a clean stretch of sand, plenty of shade under beach huts, and rows of loungers perfect for relaxing. The beachfront is lined with a mix of thatched umbrellas and green canvas canopies, giving it a tropical feel. There’s a safety net installed along the swimming area which is a thoughtful touch, especially on busier days. The beach was clean and pleasant to walk along barefoot.
At the top of the beach, you’ll find a long line of restaurants and bars. Most of the better spots (and better prices) are on the right-hand side if you’re facing the ocean – definitely worth walking all the way down to compare. It can get quite crowded during the hotter afternoons, but that only adds to the lively vibe.
Whether you’re in the mood for a swim, a sunbathe, or a chilled coconut under a hut, this beach delivers a great afternoon escape.

Otherwise the water is nice and clear and you do not need water shoes.

Clean, beautiful stretch of beach. Warm water, soft sand, and calm waves perfect for the whole family. Plenty of good restaurants lined along the beach, if you order food from them then you dont have to pay the lounger and umbrella.
We are lucky that we are staying just a good 5 minutes walk away from the beach. During our stay, we get to do our early morning walk and swim in the morning.

Wide, expansive golden sands meet calm waters (not the clearest, but overall fine)—perfect for relaxing strolls. Super pleasant vibe with tons of beachfront restaurants offering fresh eats right on the sand. Rented a surfboard easily and had a blast catching waves. Highly recommend!

An Bang is the closest beach to Hoi An Ancient Town, so it might be the only one you visit while you're here. The Japanese Bridge is called Chua Cau Bridge in Vietnamese. It was built by Japanese merchants to connect with the Chinese neighborhood. It was built for communication and connections and has a very important meaning.
The Japanese Bridge in Hoi An is considered a beautiful representation of the town’s long history. For centuries, this bridge has connected the past, present, and future.
In 1719, Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu visited Hoi An and inscribed the name “Lai Vien Kieu” in three characters at the entrance of the bridge.
This means “Lai Vien Kieu” in Vietnamese and “Bridge to Welcome Guests from Far Away” in English.
Also, because this tower was mainly built by the Japanese, it was named the "Japanese Bridge" or "Japanese Covered Bridge."

It's a nice bridge but don't get your expectations too high! You'll enjoy taking pictures there if it's not too crowded. I think this place is more interesting if you are into historical stuff, the origin of the bridge, architecture, etc. Other that that... It's a bridge!
Free to walk across the bridge and take as many photos as you would like. If you buy a ticket from the ticket office nearby (170,000) - you can enter here and numerous other historical sites in the town. However, there is not a lot to see inside just an information board about the bridge - a quick Google could save you the time.
Took around 5-10 minutes for everything, and most tours will bring you here 🙂

The Hoi An Covered Bridge is known a the tourist symbol of the Old Town. One of the highlights on Hoi An tourism with its quiet street scenery. The pagoda is designed with wood imbued with Japanese style with a graceful roof and the foundation is made of stone pillars.
Interesting stopping place in Hoi An. On the tourist ticket list but no one asked to see the ticket so could have got it free. About 10 minutes needed but the nearby souvenir shops and other old buildings are worth a visit.

The boat ride was fun, best done at night. Cost us 170,000 for a boat for 2 people. Tried charging us 50,000 per lantern, once we said no, offered us 2 lanterns for 20,000 🫠 -Boat ride itself was around 20 minutes , scenery is great with all the street lanterns and other boats.
The night market itself was like any other standard night market, nothing very special about it. However, some vendors promoted that they would not hassle customers to buy which was a nice touch 🙂

Hoi An's night view was absolutely stunning! The boat ride was an amazing experience, with its aesthetic beauty leaving a lasting impression. Ticketing was hassle-free, with tickets available within minutes. However, Fabric shop prices were steep, being about three times the original price. There was lantern making classes as well .The only downside was the overwhelming crowd, even on weekdays - I can only imagine how busy it gets on weekends! On the bright side, the numerous eating joints near the lake added to the picturesque scenery, making it a truly memorable experience.

Exploring the Hoi An Night Market is a wonderful experience. Walking through the vibrant lantern lit street is amazing and magical. It is lively atmosphere, with a mix of modern and traditional. Enjoyed exploring the different colorful stalls, sharpening my bargaining skills, trying out delicious street foods. It's about feeling the warmth and charm of the locals.
Beautiful at night with the lights and hustle and bustle of the crowds. It started raining heavily so I bought a cheap umbrella (left mine at the hotel,) but still a great experience. Lots of shops and restaurants, a fun place to walk around.
Hoi An is a must visit as it's only 40 minutes away from Danang. It's like walking through a place in history. If you don't like the noise of the bars and restaurants, you can walk further inside where you will find many great shops. We bought a whole bunch of lanterns to bring back home.

Visited this historic house in Hoi An’s ancient town, filled with antiques and traditional furnishings. It’s incredible to see how well preserved it is, especially considering the regular flooding in the area. The markings on the wall showing previous flood levels were especially striking. Hard to believe the house has stood through it all.

Old House of Tan Ky in Hoi An was very crowded like the rest of the town. There was nothing much to see inside. If you have extra time, then you can visit. It’s a small traditional house, but not a must-visit.
If you're in Hoi An, you have to check out the Tan Ky House! It’s right on the Thu Bon River and is an awesome example of a classic Hoi An merchant's home. Even though it's been around for a while, the house still has this really unique vibe and some super cool stories.
You'll get to see how the old merchants did business on the river, check out their unique pulley system, and just admire all the cool architecture. It’s a perfect place to really feel the history and see the true beauty of Hoi An.

This house is one of the oldest near the river and stood strong during many floods and the family still lives on upper floor and they only come here at 7pm. The place closes at 5pm anyway.
The whole house is made of wood and there are many “mother of pearl” furnitures which are absolutely stunning!

Great to see this old building, still lived in by the latest generation family. Free tour inside to tell you all about it but they will try and sell you souvenirs at the end. Tickets must be purchased elsewhere in the local ticket office.
When you visit, wait for the tour guide in English, it will help you understand the house and its architecture better. You can also see the levels of water during the floods. The place is small and constantly full of tourist groups, which makes it difficult to walk around.
Charming old house - when we entered they offered an excellent free English guided tour of the house. This made the place just the more interesting!
Downside is the small space and amount of people.

Hội Quán Phước Kiến, also known as the Fukian Assembly Hall, is a stunning place of worship in Hoi An, Vietnam. Originally built in the 17th century as an assembly hall for the Chinese community to gather and celebrate festivals, it was later transformed into a temple dedicated to Thien Hau, a sea goddess from Fujian province.
Opinion is my own, this is the most beautiful temple of this town.
Absolutely gorgeous “building” with part of history behind not only pictures are amazing here but sitting there and enjoying a quiet time is priceless.

We visited this Chinese temples in downtown Hoi An as part of our Old Town ticket. It was a unique experience to light large incense coils and wish for health and fortune for our family and friends. After the coils burn out, the staff apparently will burn the paper with our wishes, making them feel sacred.
It was fascinating to see wishes from all over the world written in various languages. Overall, a beautiful and meaningful stop in Hoi An!
Went here as apart of our old town ticket, was great to look around and learn a little about assembly halls. Definitely a worthwhile experience when wandering around the town. This takes around 15-20 minutes to complete, there are also a couple of small shops selling cold drinks if needed.
A stunningly ornate and peaceful spot right in the heart of Hoi An Ancient Town. The intricate Chinese architecture, colourful tiled roofs, and detailed wood carvings are breathtaking. Built by 17th-century Fujian settlers, the hall is dedicated to Thien Hau, the Sea Goddess, and you can feel the spiritual atmosphere as soon as you walk in.
The courtyards are filled with bonsai, incense, and traditional lanterns, making it a photographer’s dream. There’s a sense of history and cultural pride in every corner, and it’s well worth taking time to admire the craftsmanship. A must-visit if you want to explore the Chinese heritage of Hoi An.
The Phuc Kien (Fukien) Assembly Hall at 46 Tran Phu Street is dedicated to Thien Hau or Mazu, who is the goddess of the sea and the protector of sailors. The hall serves the Fukienese community, which is the largest ethnic Chinese group in Hoi An.
You'll also find altars here for the 'Six Highly Esteemed Generals,' a group of men who fought against the new Qing dynasty during the end of the Ming dynasty. And women can pray to the Heavenly Midwives here for a safe and successful pregnancy.

Amazing value for money, the owner is extremely helpful and communicative. The restaurant that is literally next door is one of the best we tried on our trip. Very close to the ferry to go to Cham island (5 minutes by foot) so is perfect if that's your next stop.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I was supposed to stay for 5 nights but checked out after the 1st night as it was so unbearable. My experience was excellent, but you should have my taste :
- the location is at the end of the city, quiet, beautiful view and only 5-10 min scooter ride to the center , 2km to the beautiful beach. But you must have a transport ( rent a scooter) otherwise it’s not convenient to order grab every time you want to go out.
- the staff are very nice welcoming people, the English is slow but manageable.

Visited in March 25. Huge building slightly dilapidated and outdated but I was ok with that like stuck in a time warp. Complimentary water toothbrush paste and shampoo. What I was not ok with while I was there was barking dogs in the neighborhood from 10pm onwards into the night making it impossible to sleep. Mossies were also an issue buzzing about your ears all night which was intolerable even trying to write this review is next to impossible with them.
Someone inconsiderately playing their TV far too loud. I wouldn't say it was quiet and peaceful like some reviews here.
Yes, it's an old and run down building, but the service is pretty fantastic, we did have a little problem with one of the rooms and they switched us no problem.
One of the cheapest rooms we could get. So really no complaints here

the rooms are filthy and are riddled with termites and mould the pictures are nothing like the rooms. We had to change rooms as soon as we got here and complained about the second room the staff are unbothered and will not help

Chàm Islands, also known as Cu Lao Cham, is a stunning group of eight islands off the coast of Hoi An Beach in Vietnam. This picturesque nature reserve offers a range of activities such as swimming, diving, and camping. The islands are part of the Chàm Island Biosphere Reserve, where visitors can learn about the formation history, customs, cultural festivals, and native aquatic creatures.
Magnificent nature, the island naturally decorated by many flowers especially the red flowers accross the beach and mountains. Many beaches have white sand and blue water, you can discover coral reef as well.
I really love many old trees here.
The island is well protect from plastic, no plastic bags allow to use here.
Will visit here again if i have free time

If you bigger size and need time to do thinks I suggest not to do fast tour to get island. It doesn’t worth it. I will say if you have to go take ferry and watch return or stay over night and real enjoy time on island.
Bit of a tourist trap but a pleasant one. We paid for a package with the boat ride over, lunch and time to snorkel. Was fun!
We hired a boat to try and avoid the crowds but it just took us to the same places as the tour boats which were crowded. Snorkelling was disappointing and we have seen much better elsewhere. The beach that the tours take you to is horrendous as it is full of tourists packed in, the food served is not good at all. We hired scooters with drivers to get away from the tourist beach and it was the best thing we did. We saw a stunning small beach, the small port and a temple - all lovely. Catch a ferry and explore - avoid the tour boat packages.
Even on a rainy and stormy day, the trip to the island was an adventure. Tour moves pretty fast - 45min choppy speed boat ride to the island, 45min walk around the tiny village, 45min snorkeling time, 1hr lunch and beach time.
If you go on rainy day or off season, there are less other tour groups, so the snorkeling can feel more private. Snorkeling itself was nice - many corals, some fish. Not much apart from that though, and quite a bit of trash floating around.
But it was still a worthwhile trip in the rain
We went with a scuba diving tour organized from Hoi Anh - I’ve read all the comments about tourist trap(y) tours, we’ve specified that we only want to spend time in the water as much as possible. The tour itself was nice enough. The ship we’ve been to has seen better days (marine toilet is ew).
Coral reefs are half dead, there are fish, but we did not have a wow effect to be honest. Not recommend for scuba divers. For snorkeling its nice if you haven’t been better preserved coral reefs. The food was great, we stopped at Monkey Beach, it was surprisingly nice - we saw a monkey! 🐒
We could have skipped this tour, but I would have major fomo, so overall I’m glad we went 😅

Crystal-clear water, colorful coral reefs, and so many fish! The boat ride was fun, and our team were happy. A peaceful escape just off the coast of Hội An. Great for beginners and nature lovers, don’t miss it!

I strongly recommend avoiding Cham Island. What should be a tropical escape turns into one of the worst experiences you can have in Vietnam.
It starts at the pier, where you’re charged 700,000 VND for a chaotic, disorganized tour. The area is packed with aggressive vendors screaming at you to buy extras you don’t need. There’s no respect, no structure, just noise and pressure.
The boat ride itself is dangerously overcrowded, with no safety protocols, and multiple people got seasick. It already feels like a scam.
Once you arrive, the island shows its true colors—literally and figuratively. Yes, the water has beautiful hues and the nature could be stunning… but that potential is completely wasted. The beach is packed, the atmosphere is loud and overwhelming, and the people around you are spitting, littering, and yelling nonstop.
The worst part is the hygiene. The “included lunch” is served in filthy conditions: flies and mosquitoes cover the food, which includes old seafood and bland rice. It’s not only disgusting—it’s a real health risk. If you eat there, you’re seriously gambling with food poisoning or other illnesses. The seafood wasn’t fresh at all, which is absurd for an island.
And to top it off? They charge 10–15€ for this low-quality, unsafe meal.
The snorkeling was equally disappointing: just 20 minutes at a dead reef with nothing to see. It’s clear they take tourists to the easiest, most damaged spots with no effort to offer value.
In short: Cham Island could be beautiful, but it’s been turned into a loud, dirty, overpriced mess. Unless you book a private tour with better access and fewer people, don’t waste your time, money, or health.
