Visited in June 2024. It is a mountain pass and a popular tourist destination. Around 4hrs one-way drive from Srinagar. It is a starting point of many trekking routes to upper region. The location has frozen ice most of the time around the year and will snow even summer time if it rains. Moreover, the view during the drive up to the Top is wonderful. But it is not a proper spot for children. If you don't bring own warm cloths, then you can rent on the way and also on the top. However, check carefully and bargain. They tend to give faulty jacket and other items. Also you can find snow-jets for rent and they will take you little higher than the normal area. But the cost is too much high.

This view point is located at 12000ft high from sea level. Covered with snow at mere places even in June. Adventure activities like snow bike, sledging are available with higher cost. Wearing snow jackets, gloves and boots which are available in rental basis are advisable to enjoy the climate prevailant there. Worth visiting once in a lifetime.

Very nice and serene place. Less crowd than other popular attractions but much better experience. You can step out of your vehicle on to the snow directly. No need for any horse ride or local taxi.

Mother will provide peace, prosperity and good health to the devotees.

Visiting Mata Vaishno Devi was a truly divine and unforgettable experience. This was my first time going through the Tarakote Marg, and I must say it was a wonderful choice. The entire path is very calm, clean, and beautifully surrounded by nature. Walking through the peaceful route with greenery and mountain views gave a deep sense of positivity and devotion. The arrangements along the way were also good — resting points, clean washrooms, and food facilities were easily available. The environment was safe and well-maintained, making the yatra comfortable for families and elderly people as well. Reaching the holy Bhawan and having darshan of Mata Rani was an emotional and spiritual moment. The chants of “Jai Mata Di” echoed everywhere, filling the air with divine energy. It truly felt like all worries disappeared and blessings showered upon us. Overall, it was a peaceful and heart-touching experience. I will always remember this first yatra through Tarakote Marg — full of faith, nature, and serenity. Jai Mata Di! 🙏

Must visit park of Jammu. One of the most beautiful and well maintained park of jammu located on the bank of Tawi river in Bahu named as Bagh-e-bahu. Ticket price is ₹24 /- person. You can stay there upto 7pm, after 7pm there is a water fountain show, whose tickets has to buy separately priced ₹100/- person. Overall a beautiful and must visit park beautiful designed and has a great view on many view points.🌲🏞️

It was amazing..! The garden outside the fort..and it has an aquarium... A must visit place in jammu.. very near to jammu city center. Amazing place. It takes 3-4 hours to roam around the entire garden.. so go well in time. Its so peaceful any time you visit there.

This garden is located at Bahu fort. Garden maintenance is ok. Could be improved. One can view Jammu city from the garden deck. There is a musical fountain with lights that starts only after sunset. As we were not aware of it we missed it.

Park is well maintained, but non accessible for specially a led people. Musical fountain staff are fraud, there is a big problem with power disruption and they do not have any backup. Staff runaway once power is gone. No refund, be careful with this.

The garden is located on the bank of Tawi River in the lap of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of Jammu City. People from all walks of life find it a beautiful place to spend some time with the nature.

Khajjiar Lake is situated in the middle of Khajjiar Valley. This is a small lake with lots of fishes. When we visited the lake most of the lake was covered with water grass. I think this lake need more maintenance.

Nice place. Much commercialized, but the beauty is superb, in the winters, when I got to see the frozen lake, making the place all white. I could only imagine, how much beautiful, it would be, if the place is remote with very less people. That would be gem in the middle of the forest. But the place is very much in demand, with lot of people visiting here & lot of business, activities, selling of products, etc going on. Resulting in lot of vehicles, traffic, mud, jams, horns, which takes away some of the serenity & beauty of the place. But, even then, a frozen lake is beautiful, which you mesmerize most. The place is, though quite clean, even after so much of human activities going on. Worth a visit. I visited Khajjiar shortly after the monsoon (one of the best seasons to visit). It is a sprawling green meadow with a marsh lake in the middle and surrounded all around by deodar trees. There is a cottage run by Himachal tourism situated right in the meadow (the iconic photo that you see when you search Khajjiar in Google), where you can book your stay through the Himachal tourism website. It was lush green and the weather was pleasant in September. The good thing about Khajjiar is that it's not overcrowded (yet). There is so much fresh air and tranquility. You can take a good walk around the perimeter and then sit on a bench and enjoy the view how much ever you want. This place is a great escapade from the noise and crowd of the city.

Khajjiar which is also known as Mini Switzerland truly lives up to its name. This majestic place is a must visit place in your lifetime. There are hardly any places like this in india other than Kashmir Doodh Pathri. I visited this place multiple times but every time this place feels special. Visited this place 9 months back too.

This is a small hamlet valley in the midst of mountain forests and high peaks. Its beautiful when cloudy and even prettier when sunny! Too many tourists, but it still holds on to its beauty. Happy to see, tourists have littered less here.

Amazing place to visit for everyone. Very easy trek, harldy 1/2 hr to reach on top. You can spend as much time as you want, you will be in between the clouds at top. Trekking at Dainkund Peak was an unforgettable experience, offering a perfect blend of serenity and natural beauty. As I ascended the trail, a peaceful silence enveloped the surroundings, broken only by the soft rustling of leaves and the distant calls of birds. The path meandered through lush green meadows and dense forest patches, gradually leading me above the clouds. Walking amidst the mist and cool mountain breeze felt surreal—as if nature itself had paused in quiet admiration. From the summit, the panoramic view of the surrounding was breath taking. It was a soul-refreshing journey, where every step brought a deeper connection to nature.

Amazing trek with beautiful panaromic.views.It is highest point of Dalhousie.I would say more scenic and beautiful than Khajiaar.It takes hardly half an hour to reach top from base. Complete the trek to reach Pohani Mata temple. Please seek advice from locals in case of inclement weather

Trek is easy. First 600 meters of the treck is inclined after that it's easy and the path is straight. Pohlani mata temple is at the peak and you can view manimahesh kailash if there is no fog. And the view is so amazing literally so beautiful. If you're visiting Dalhousie you must go here.

One of the Best Place to visit Daikund Trek if you are planning to go to Dalhousie. It’s a 1.5 km trek. The gates will be closed on 4:00pm. Try to reach early. Must carry your water bottles, you will definitely need it. At the top there is a popular Pholani Devi Temple. View from the top is mesmerising. You will definitely love and enjoy it.

Beautiful, humbling place. There was so much to experience from the Golden temple to the jora service to the langar service to the gold sewa workshop. The museums on-site are also there to serve as a reminder of the resilience that Sikhs have had to have to survive and become a large community. There are many gurudwaras and soravars (lakes) on-site to take amrat as well. To be able to sit under the trees that some of the Gurus had done so was also wonderful. A beautiful place to visit.

The pathway around the sarovar is peaceful for sitting or walking, especially in the early morning or late evening when the lighting makes it look magical. Overall, Sri Harmandir Sahib is not just a religious place but a symbol of peace, equality, and faith. No matter what your background is, you’ll feel a deep sense of spirituality here. A must-visit place that truly touches the heart.

Needless to add this place is absolutely magical especially early morning between 3.30 am and 5.30 am. It is absolutely breathtaking. A must visit at that time. One can sleep later during the day. The serenity an peacefulness is something one must experience.

A divine place. I have almost zero knowledge of Sikhism. But when I stand in th3 queue for 4 hours that is when I felt the presence different energy. I have been to Kashi, Ujjain and every where u have to stand in queue. A lot of pushing touching, but here people are standing together with families but with pure energy and devotion to "Guru"🙏

On return from Dharamshala to Chandigarh we planned to visit Masroor Rock cut temple. It is a real wonder as temples are built on one Rock just as in Ellora. Though temples were affected by 1905 earthquake but one can see the temple. Restoration work is going on and idols have been kept for worship. However no one is allowed to offer money.

A monolithic rock cut temple of around eighth century. The place is not so popular among tourists. The architecture is wonderful and amazing. Although it was damaged by the 1905 earthquake, still what remains is awesome. A must visit for history lovers.

This place is made to understand the basic concepts of science in a very interesting way. You must visit there once at this place. Very large area, I learned different topics of science there and also understand the basic structure and functioning of human body. It takes 5-6 hours to see all the things. Different topics are- Climate change, Laser show, Flight Simulator, Dome theatre and many more.

Nice place to visit. Particularly interesting for children. It is costly in terms of tickets and entertainement. But with the various activities, toy train, boating, shows, huge area, dinosaur park and children enjoyment, with paying the price. Some area was closed today but enough for the day. Normally they ask for package, you can take package which usually costs lower. There are many scenic area, if you like photography then I believe you should plan according for the day light or Sun light directions for best shots.

Science city is place worth to visit with the students who have some knowledge of science. It’s green, large campus with various blocks on subjects like electricity, laser shows, astronomical block etc is worth visiting.

Set in a sprawling campus, the Pushpa Gujral Science City near Kapurthala is a beautiful place intended to kindle or stoke a scientific bent of mind in young and old alike. Don't miss the Sports Science Centre; it is indeed one of a kind. The Dino Park is interesting. There is enough to keep curious kids interested, especially the Fun and Games oriented exhibits and installations. This place can take an entire day, so plan accordingly.

Its a beautiful place depicting the famous and fabulous culture of punjab... They charge you at the entry and then everything inside is free of cost..there are plenty of things to do inside... they have live dance performance also... Its a vast area..you will require a lot of time to visit every corner of this place..

The thali was good however there was no fresh safed makhan or makki ka roti or even gulab jamun. The chai was poor because there was no option for no sugar the ladies who made the parantha were never listening to my grandmother who is seventy years old and kept giving her rotis not fresh tawa ka parantha. And the dancing was great however the music is deafening. However the kulfi, dhai Bhalla were amazing, the magic show was great however the chuski was too sweet, I would not recommend bringing the elderly to eat the snacks as it was way too sweet. In the whole Havel was good however this rangale punjab was poor as they didn’t have that many Punjabi food

Great place to enjoy evening. Staff is very nice and food at stalls and main room was awesome. Everything we tasted was superb. It’s an entertainment for family of all ages. Only problem was with astrologer who seems to be a fraud….. used a same old story which frauds use to extract money from you by scaring you. We saw this in Chokhi Dhani Jaipur too but there the guy was good and gave us option.

A must visit place in Jalandhar. Hidden places, things, culture, games everything is preserved there. The food is delicious and they serve it with smileand they will make sure, you are tummy full before leaving

Locatuon is good right at the highway. Inside atmosphere is good but areawise is not so big. Cultural programme is great. Punjab old cluture is displayed everywhere which is good to see if you have come for the first time Inside a big restaurant is there which is included in the entry ticket but frankly I didnt like the food inside and the biggest reason is - We had so many small meals/ food around the restaurant ( stalls everywhere like chaat, candys, ice cream etc) inside and we got full and there is no place left for the dinner. We suggest you to have the fresh baked roti with makkahn and chutney stall and enjoy other small meals ( chaat, pani puri, candys, ice cream kulfi, aam panna jaggery tea etc.), for diner you can opt after sometime post your digestion. Evrything is included in the entry ticket. Overall I feel the entry ticket 1000 is over priced as the place is not so big and also the food option is limited. One time visit is good.

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) is a research institute in Shimla, housed in the former Viceregal Lodge, a must visit Historical place..built between 1884 and 1888 as the summer residence for the Viceroy of India. After India's independence, the lodge was renamed Rashtrapati Niwas (President's House). Loads of jaw dropping advanced features built e.g. Concealed Electrical wiring, advanced Fire fighting system, 200 years old working pendulum, walnut interiors. etc... Its amazing..!! It also contains rare archives, If you are visiting Shimla and keep interest in History...a must must visit. PS - Photography inside the building is prohibited.

The Viceregal Lodge in Shimla is one of those places that instantly takes you back in time. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by extraordinary architecture, intricate woodwork, and an atmosphere that reflects the grandeur of the British era. The building itself is absolutely stunning — every corridor, staircase, and room tells a story of its own. The lush gardens outside and the panoramic views from the hilltop add even more charm to the visit. We took the guided tour, which was informative and helped us understand the historical significance of each section of the lodge. However, I personally felt that the tour was a bit rushed. Even though the guide mentioned that we could take our time, we were quickly moved from one room to another. I would have loved to pause longer and really soak in the details — the furniture, the photos, and the artifacts that make this place so special. Despite that, it’s a must-visit attraction in Shimla. The architecture alone makes it worth the trip, and if you’re someone who appreciates history, art, or old-world charm, you’ll definitely enjoy it here. I’d recommend visiting early in the day to truly take in its beauty and peaceful surroundings.

Vicergal lodge named as 13 British viceroys used this placec as residence and used as their capital for 8months every year as summer capital. Draft of partition of India was discussed here. Dr S Radhakrishnan converted this to educational institute IIAS, now offers advanced studies in social science and humanities. British era history involved in this building. 137 years old now. But sad to see poor maintenance and upkeep of structure inspite of hefty entry fee to stay 30 mins inside the building as guided tour.

Situated at 2.5 kms from Shimla railway station, this used to the de-facto power base in India during the British times for 8 months. The first building in Shimla to get electricity, it also saw time as Independent India's first President House for around a decade. Guided tours are available but too many people are stuffed in them and one can't properly appreciate the amount of history (usually in form of images and lettering). A proper way would be to let people go in and browse at their own leisure. Alas, one can't have that. Only the ground floor is accessible (4 odd rooms) to public. There is a lawn and small garden outside as well.

You won’t feel like in India by looking at the buildings at scandal point when you are Shimla. Don’t get confused if driver tells you they are also going to cover the this point separately since it is next to The Ridge. You have to follow the same route. Just keep walking because vehicles are not allowed here.

Good place for a long walk. At night it looks amazing and you can see amazing views of church and other attractions near scandal point.

It is the point where the Mall, the route to the Ridge and that to the GPO meet. It is regarded by many to have got its name from where an erstwhile Maharaja of Patiala carried off a British Commander-in-Chief's daughter. While Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja in question, is known to have cut a finger that was more than dashing, it is unlikely that the Maharaja or the lady would have been out on the streets airing their love.

Jakhu Temple (also Jakhoo Temple) is an ancient temple in Shimla,Himachal Pradesh, India, dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Hanuman. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhu Hanuman temple on 4 November 2010. The temple is accessible by foot, horse, taxi or ropeway. The Jakhu Ropeway is an aerial lift that links a point near the centre of Shimla to the temple. It was developed by Jagson International Limited and opened in 2017.

Very beautiful temple of God Hanuman. Temple itself is very beautiful. I would recommend to visit it early morning to get less crowd and good pictures. This temple is on top of mountain. Be careful these wild monkeys may snatch your mobile or caps.

Points to be noted 1. Please be aware of cabs for visiting temple. 2. Rates can be negotiated 3. Path is very odd hence ropeway and cabs are the only way to visit. 4. Cabs for temple are far away from mall road. Hence it is suggested not to take senior citizens and people having knee problems. 5. Once cabs drops you near temple there are stairs followed by escalator. 6. 20 rupees per person is the rate for 2 escalators which takes you to temple. Or one can go by stairs.

Visited Jakhu Temple in Shimla for Hanuman Ji’s darshan. We took a private van from the Clock Tower for ₹300 (up & down for two people), though there’s also an HRTC bus available for around ₹30 which comes every 30–50 minutes. There are a lot of monkeys around; they’re not harmful but you need to be careful with your belongings. Standing below the huge Hanuman statue and offering prayers felt truly divine and peaceful. A must-visit spot for a calm spiritual experience.”

While the garden is beautiful and well maintained; it feels very mechanical, just made for the sake of the city because the city is like the cities abroad. Garden is big and if you want to spend some peaceful time, then only you should visit.

Rose is one of the best attractions in Chandigarh. If you like roses and greenery you must visit this place. Although Chandigarh is very green but this place an its own vibe.

We went in November but there were almost no Rose's flowering. So better visit in February. But very nice garden to sit and relax.

It is a very nice and big garden where you can easily spend 2 to 3 hours. Childrens play area are also there. There are lots of varities of roses from all over the world. You can scan their QR code and know more information about them. Better to visit in winters as roses are more blossoms in that season.

Everything A grade, only to reach there especially for elderly is bit difficult.As vehicles are not allowed and got to walk steep road for 4 to 5 km is difficult . Govt should start e rickshaws for public.

This is the highest point of Kasauli. Took a cab all the way up to the air force sub station. From there it was a 30 min climb (would have been much faster if I was alone). It is just a lot of stairs but they are nicely paved and well maintained. Senior citizens and even 70+ year olds also come up if they take a lot of rest in between (there are places to sit and rest). The temple at the top has a peaceful vibe. There are monkeys here and you'll be instructed to not carry food in your hand. If you have the "prasadam" from the temple, carry them in your pockets. This is also known as the Monkey point or Manki point. Our cab driver told us "Manki" is not a spelling error but refers to the hindi word "mann ki" (something related to heart/soul) but not sure about it's authenticity. The main downside of visiting this place is that it is close to the air force station and all electronic devices are prohibited - meaning no photography at all. Most of the pics you see here on this pin are actually from different places in Kasauli (added erroneously ...smh). Some pictures of the temple can be taken from a km away from the Gilbert Trail if you zoom in. There is a paid locker where you submit your bags and devices and go for the hike.

Temple is located at 6500 feets. 300 steps to climb. Only taxis are allowed from Mall Road Car Parking or you trek for an hour. Mountain views are awesome. It is believed that during Lord Hanumans flight from himalayas bringing Sanjeevani booti his left foot was rested on this hill and hence the importance of this place. Mobiles, photography etc strictly prohibited 🚫 in this area.

Its a beautiful temple located on mountain top of kasauli. The visiting time is till 4pm all around the year and 1-2 is lunch time. There is no Entry fee. Taxi service is available from mall road to manki point for 200-250 rupees per person but I would highly recommend to cover the beautiful trail on foot as you get to enjoy the beautiful path. Its is hardly 3-4 kms and an easy trail. If you are lucky enough you get to see the valley covered with beautiful flowers specially during monsoon (mid July- September end). Or you can choose the small path going via sunset point which connects to manki point in between and is about 1-1.5kms and slightly steep. Phones, smart watches and bags are not allowed inside the temple area as it is a Cantt area and you can submit your belongings by paying some charges. Carry cash as you will be needing it for buying food/water inside the temple premises. After entering the cantt area, temple is half kilometer on top with 282 stairs. You can enjoy the view from top. Beware of monkeys if carrying food items.

the Sanjeevani Hanuman Temple is a must visit place in kasauli. Located atop a mountain, the temple is accessible only by foot. Be aware that it's situated within an Air Force station, meaning no mobile phones or electronic devices are allowed inside. A paid locker facility is available to store your belongings before you proceed. Security checks are mandatory before entering the temple area. Please note that many Google Maps photos for this location are inaccurate due to the no-phone policy; they often depict other Kasauli locations. Despite these restrictions, the temple itself has a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere and is definitely worth the trek. One important tip: monkeys are abundant, so don't carry food items or other stuff in your hànd and it's advisable to visit in a group.

Amazing experience, slightly tiring as you have to climb your way and it’s steep. You get a beautiful view of Kasauli from the top, as it’s the highest point there and certainly hold high religious value and gives peace. A must visit place, if you are in Kasauli. No entry fee, no electronic gadget or cameras allowed but they have a paid counter to deposit your belongings safely.

I visited Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh early morning recently, and it was a refreshing experience! This man-made lake, built in 1958 by Le Corbusier’s team, is a serene spot with calm waters reflecting the Shivalik hills. The early morning vibe was magical—cool air, chirping birds, and a stunning sunrise painting the sky. The walking path was perfect for a peaceful stroll, and I loved watching locals jogging and practicing yoga. The nearby café served tasty snacks, adding to the charm. However, some areas had litter, which slightly detracted from the beauty. Also, more benches would’ve been nice for resting. Despite these, Sukhna Lake’s tranquility and scenic views make it a lovely spot to start the day in Chandigarh.

Gurudwara Shri Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala is a very peaceful and holy place. It is visited by many people who come here to pray and find relief from their worries. The gurudwara has a large holy pond (sarovar), and it is believed that taking a dip in it can heal illnesses and remove pain. The building is beautiful and well-maintained. The atmosphere is calm and spiritual, and the sound of prayers (Gurbani) gives a feeling of peace. The langar (free community meal) is served to all visitors with love and respect, showing the true spirit of equality and service. Cleanliness is well taken care of, and the staff and volunteers are kind and helpful. There is enough space for parking, and it is easy for elderly people to move around. Overall, it is a must-visit place if you are in Patiala. It brings peace to the heart and mind.

Very faithful and peaceful and beautiful palace. Spiritual healing and peace are the properties of the Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib, one of the most revered Gurudwaras in Punjab. Located in Lehal, a part of Patiala, it is famous for its curing properties for any ailments that anyone may be suffering from. Visitors have faith in abluting in the holy water of the pond here, because of its healing qualities. Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib's origin is tied to a villager named Bhag Ram from Lehal, who sought the blessings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to end a mysterious plague afflicting the area. In January 1672, the Guru visited Lehal, spending time by the village pond, preaching and meditating under a banyan tree. His presence and meditation led to the plague's eradication. Consequently, the site where Guru Ji meditated came to be known as Dukhnivaran, meaning "the end of all sufferings", and this name was given to the Gurudwara. Between 1748 and 1782, Raja Amar Singh of Patiala established a garden in honour of Guru Tegh Bahadur's special visit, entrusting its care to Nihang Sikhs. Court records from 1870 mention a garden belonging to the Guru and a well, used by the Nihangs. In 1920, plans to build a railway line threatened the banyan tree where Guru Tegh Bahadur had sat, but workers refused to cut it down. Consequently, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh cancelled the project. Although a Gurudwara had not yet been built, a committee was formed in 1930 to raise funds and begin construction. Twelve years later, in 1942, the building was completed under the supervision of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh, a devout Sikh. True to its name, Gurudwara Dukhnivaran Sahib is believed to alleviate grief for those who visit with a pure heart and offer sincere prayers.

The natural beauty around the fall is breathtaking, and the sound of water cascading down in the peaceful surroundings makes it worth the visit. For those who enjoy adventure, taking the trek route is highly recommended, as it allows you to experience the raw charm of nature and gives you the real feel of traveling through the hills. However, if you want a more comfortable journey, you can also reach close to the fall by vehicle. Do remember to purchase your entry ticket from the ticket counter, as there is checking before you reach the waterfall area. The spot is well-maintained, refreshing, and perfect for nature lovers as well as families looking for a short getaway. Overall, Tiger Fall is a must-visit attraction in Chakrata that combines scenic beauty, adventure, and relaxation all in one.

It's been a good place, you can take a bath in the waterfall. However, it was not allowed to take a bath without costumes but people are using normal clothes. There are 2 parking slots, one at around 2-3 kms before the fall and another near the fall. Suggest to use first parking slot if you are not comfortable driving on off road on hills and can use stairs for reaching the fall

This was one of the best trips I ever had. The calmness of nature and the best company of best friends. The wit and fun all the way and that bath in the water of the fall - all were unmatchable. This was my first trip with my squad and believe me it was the best first trip as we wanted to stay here forever. We still have this trip as one of our best trips in our memory.

A unique waterfall with 50 m almost straight drop. Though there is a pool underneath, however, the water is really good. A nice place to go take a dip in the cold water and has a trekking route also to reach there around 1 km downhill. Then 1 km Hill or you can come via car also. However, the parking is limited at the near the fall so once that gets full, so it’ll be difficult to get the car over there.

If you can take your car till the end then please do. Don't park at the start. The trek is 1 km long and the start is very as you only have to go down but it'll be very difficult for old people to climb back up so take your car till the end even if the parking person tells you not to. The fall is really nice and there's a proper place for a bath. There are proper changing rooms as well. It's the most fun thing to do near Chakrata.

I trekked to Tiger Falls in Chakrata earlier this week—and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations. Hidden amidst lush oak and rhododendron forests, the waterfall plunges about 50 m (or perhaps even up to 95 m)—reports vary—but its roar truly lives up to the name “Tiger Falls”. I reached the parking zone near the Chakrata–Lakhamandal road, then walked a scenic 1 km downhill trek to the falls (many trekkers opt for a 5 km route from town) . The trail took me through peaceful hamlets, verdant meadows, and dense forest stretches—my favourite part being the blooming rhododendrons and panoramic Himalayan views. Arriving at the falls, the sight and sound were mesmerizing—a torrent crashing into a small emerald pool surrounded by greenery. The mist created a delicate rainbow in the afternoon light, a magical moment to soak in nature’s grandeur. Although there’s technically no entry fee, I found the site tranquil and not crowded—ideal for anyone seeking peace. Still, there’s no infrastructure like shops or toilets near the waterfall, so I came prepared with snacks, water, and waterproof gear. Bathing used to be allowed in the natural pool, which many visitors enjoy—but note that recently bathing has been temporarily banned due to safety concerns after a tragic accident with falling debris . So I savored the atmosphere without getting in the water. In all, this week’s trip to Tiger Falls was rejuvenating. The trek, the natural beauty, the sound of birds and roaring water, and the crisp mountain air all added up to a perfect day away from the city. Highly recommended for trekkers, nature lovers, and peaceful solitary visits—just go well-prepared and respectful of the terrain and safety guidelines.

During the monsoon tigerfall was absolutely amazing! The journey itself from Dehradun to Chakrata is incredibly scenic—with lush greenery, misty hills, and stunning valley views all along the way. The waterfall is massive and truly mesmerizing. Definitely one of the most beautiful fall I’ve seen. There are two ways to reach it: if you’re driving an SUV, you can take your car all the way to the nearest point (though the road is a bit rough). Otherwise, you can park your car and walk for about 15–20 minutes through a lovely trail. We chose to walk, and while it was a bit tiring, the moment we reached the fall, all that fatigue just melted away. The sound of the water, the freshness in the air—it was refreshing and peaceful. We spent around 2 hours at the spot, enjoying the view and relaxing. There are small restaurants and stalls nearby where you can grab something to eat. we had chai and Maggi, which felt perfect in the misty weather. If you’re in or around Chakrata, Tiger Fall is a must-visit.

A beautiful place to visit, weather it is with your beau, with friends or with your family. The serenity of the place is astonishing. The steps to Kempty falls is not so steep and is easily a short trek. The Kempty falls also provides a Ropeway cable for a price of Rs. 250/- per person (but all in cash) 😐. The snacks and food prices are a little steep but worth the climb. The Kempty falls also features boating area and a Drone camera facilities, on top of this, bathing facility is also there, where one can rent bathing suit for a price and enjoy.

Watching the sunrise in Mussoorie is truly one of the most magical experiences you can have in the hills. As the first light breaks over the mountains, the entire valley glows in shades of orange, pink, and gold — it’s absolutely breathtaking. Kempty falls is one of the best places to visit in Mussoorie. The water falls from quite a height and is rather a magnificent sight. The waterfall can be accessed by climbing down some 150 steps or by a ropeway. It is a series of falls and can be viewed from different levels. The approach to the fall has large uneven steps and is not well arranged or maintained. But there are a few places where you can bathe in the collected water. There are some food stalls around and you can sit and eat with your feet dangling in the cool water. 30-45 minutes should be enough to visit the place. Highly recommended.

For the best views—especially of peaks like Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Banderpoonch—plan your trip around November when the skies are clearer. The viewing area upstairs is quite cramped, especially during peak hours, and the much-advertised binoculars are disappointingly blurry. A small three storied structure may be 250 sq ft each floor ground + 2 right on the cliff side with a binoculars installed at the top floor which is an open sitting area. The entrance charge is 50 rs per person which is adjusted against any food order that you place. The view is awesome as it's one of the highest points of Mussoorie. The hot food too was quite good, though you don't have much choice. The shop downstairs from where you enter has spices, honey, bee polen, etc kept for sale.

Lal Tibba is the highest point in Mussoorie and offers breathtaking views of the valley. The cafe has an entry fee of ₹50/- per head but it can be redeemed in your food bill. There is a telescope on the terrace and you can have your food enjoying the scenery. The food was limited to momos, sandwich, pizza, shakes,etc. and was a bit pricey. The Black coffee with honey was great . There is some local produce like red rice, bee pollen and rock salt for sale. Private residences of some celebrities are also located here. The normal road to Lal Tibba usually gets blocked and traffic is diverted by a very narrow and precarious road. Worth spending 1-2 hours there.

I visited this beautiful Buddhist temple in Dehradun and the experience was truly serene. The temple complex is very clean, well-maintained, and perfect for spending some quiet, reflective time. The monastery has a spacious area and beautiful scenery. I arrived in the late afternoon, so I didn’t have enough time to explore everything. There’s a shoe storage area that charges 3 rupees per pair, but it wasn’t operational when I visited. There are many wooden chairs for visitors to rest. Everything is wonderful.

Mindrolling, means Place of Perfect Emancipation in the Tibetan language. One Monstery of the same name exists in Zhanang County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet Nice place to learn about Buddhism teachings, fundamentals about stupa. Peaceful place to spend time with yourselves. The huge Stupa, intricate Tibetan architecture, and colorful Prayer flags give a sense of calmness and beauty. We can have experience of the beautiful, peaceful and spiritual enrichment place and many people will do meditation here.

I would like to give 5 star to this monastery. Located at Hill and surrounded by Lush trees make it amazing place. Divine Majestic and Peaceful is the right words to describe Mind-blowing Monastery. It has 3-4 big statues and Stupas. Every Statues has big garden. Its has Budha Study colleges and hostel for students. Its has canteen areas, it has few Shops to buy gifts for your loved one.

Visiting Surkanda Devi Temple was one of the highlights of my trip to Kanatal! To reach the temple, you’ll need to climb a short stretch of steps, and then you have two options: either take the ropeway (₹225 per person) for a quick ride up, or continue the scenic trek to the top. A quick tip: beware of the mischievous monkeys along the way, they’ve absolutely mastered the art of snatching snacks and bags, so keep your belongings close! 🐒 The temple itself is beautifully maintained, clean, organized, and peaceful. The moment you reach the top, you’re rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Himalayas that makes every step worth it. You can easily spend hours here soaking in the serenity, admiring the architecture, and just being present in the moment. If you’re anywhere in the Tehri region of Uttarakhand, Surkanda Devi Temple is an absolute must-visit, a perfect blend of spirituality, nature, and scenic beauty. 🌄🙏

One of the Shaktipeeth where Maa Sati's head was said to be fallen. The temple is on a hill with amazing views from all sides. The trek not too long and properly paved can be steep in some places so recommended to take frequent breaks if your not used to the trekking. There is a option for cable cart but it was not operation during the time we visited (Mid Aug). At the top the air feels fresh and very calm.

I went for the evening aarti at Surkanda Devi temple and honestly it was such a peaceful experience. The whole place had this divine energy, and with the cool breeze blowing. The view from the top was just breathtaking – mountains covered in mist and the sky slowly turning golden. When the bells started ringing and the aarti began, it gave me goosebumps. Sitting there, with nature all around and the sound of prayers, it was truly mast and unforgettable

This is my once in a lifetime experience getting to the feet of Mata Surkanda Devi at 10000 ft above. There are two ways to reach the Temple. Trekking and Ropeway. We took ropeway as we were with Senior Citizens. Also the trekking is difficult. Taking Ropeway is also time saving. It's so peaceful above and literally above the clouds. Amazing experience.

Because as I look straight to the beautiful view I see the mountain on which this beautiful and famous temple situated. I often visit this place a year or 2 from my childhood.
