Trekking in the dark might sound tough, but the trail is well-maintained and much easier when it’s cool and quiet. Reaching the temple before it opens is a truly peaceful and spiritual experience. For those chasing sunrise magic, don’t miss the Chandrashila Peak trek, which is about 2 km from Tungnath. The views from up there — sunrise lighting up the snow peaks, and clouds swirling below you — are unforgettable. Auli ropeway or Gondola is the worth having experience when you're in Auli. It's an open flying trolley that takes you to the top and you witness breathtaking mountain views. Price per person is Ra.500/- only. You can do several snow adventure activities like Skiing, sledging, trekking etc when you reach the top.

Its the most unique experience. Ropeway costs 1000 and 500 for chair car incase you have reservations. Its a 25 min ride and the most enticing experience. You can see all snow tops. Beautiful scenery. . Tickets for ropeway gets booked easily and it closes by 4. So keep your timelines scheduled.

The longest ropeway in India.A full 25 minutes of hanging over some of the most picture-postcard perfect locales ever. We took it a total of four times during our five days stay there. The staff is helpful the gondola has a standing-only place and in case you want to go to the Auli ski resort you get down at a pillar before the end and take a rickety lift six floors down and then take the ski lift to the resort. The experience of sitting with your legs dangling and nothing but a bar between you and everything else around you ( in the ski lift) is like being in another world altogether. Even if you are not booked into one of the resorts in joshi math, please take this trip up to auli . It's worth every minute and every rupee sent on it

Nice place to visit. It’s very beautiful to visit both in winter and off winter. There are variety of flowers in this place. They looks so mesmerizing. After the rope way we took mule ride to see flowers. It was so beautiful. One must visit.

We went there but couldn't experience it. It's very important to get online booking done if you are choosing a crowded day like new year. Also, the offline booking portal opens at 9 am. So if you haven't got online ticket, try buying it offline early morning.

The true beauty of this place can be enjoyed only during peak winter that's when the entire area is covered in snow and winter sports like 🎿 is very popular. If the sky is clear and visibility is good then you would be able to see some of the peaks. Coming back to the ropeway it's a joy ride for sure but on the expensive side. The counter accepts payment in cash only (as usual in most part of UK and UP). Be aware that though there is a departure and return schedule the cable car won't take off until they have 20-25 people. The ground staff will ask you to enjoy pakoda and wait for your turn. The ride it self is good and takes ~ 21 mins one-way. After reaching the peak you can roam around and enjoy the view , take a pony ride or simply sit back and enjoy pakoda again :-).

This ropeway has two places to board. One is from Joshimath which is closed cabin and you have to go standing and maximum people allowed in cabin ropeway taxi is 25 people. This ropeway taxi goes at the maximum altitude of 10200 feet from where you can view Nandadevi, Trishul, Hathi ghoda Palki and many more peaks. Another ropeway to board is from Auli, which is open sitting seats and four people can sit on it.

One of the best SHIVA mandirs blessed to have the dharshan and touched the SPATIK linga, Swayamboo. in one word I AM BLESSED and Shiv the Bholenath had ordered me to visit him to be blessed and LUCKY to have the comfortable leisure Dharshan. Initially i thought the Shivji in Saligram but wonder struck me when i had seen THE LORD in SPATIK. Totally blessed to see a 5000 years old SHIVA.

You can get to the nearest of this place by car or a taxi, after that you have to take a guide who will guide you through the one and half kilometre Trek which will finally lead you to the rudradhari waterfall and the temple

Its a 3 km easy trek from road to the temple. If you are visiting it in monsoons beware of leeches as the trek goes inside the mixed temperate forest. It's a very old cave temple located along the river Kosi. A beautiful waterfall can also be seen next to the temple. A worth visiting place for nature lovers, trekkers and religious souls if nearby Kosani.

Remarkable Trek to Rudradhari Mahadev Temple through an intense forest Rudradhari Waterfall with Mahadev temple Cave has a trek route of 2 KM inside thickly infested forest with hilly path and over the water stream of Rudradhari waterfall which is 10km away from Kausani Town. There is a small but beautiful temple inside the cave which is supposedly 2000 years old. This place is also known as meditation place of Kaushik Muni. I felt extreme peace after reaching the temple and waterfall. There is another place to visit called Pinnath temple. Pinnath temple is situated at the hill top of 2750m height (approx 9000ft) and can be started its 5KM treking from the starting point of Rudradhari Waterfall trek. This sacred HINDU shrine is dedicated to Bhairon and worshiped by the locals. Apart from the temple, scenic beauty of Pinnath Top is also spectacular.

Baijnath is very famous for the ancient temples and historical importance. The temple is located on the banks of the beautiful Gomti River, in the Bageshwar district (Kumaon region), Uttarakhand. The temples are ancient and worth visiting. Located on a promontory jutting over a bend of the Gomti river, the temples beauty has been enhanced by damming the river and creation of a lake. Sadly the landscaping around the lake is in poor taste, with ugly architecture and gaudy pedal boats, totally out of sync with the ancient architecture of the temples. Encroachments around the temple overshadow the temples themselves. This place holds a lot of promise, as a spiritual destination, as a recreational zone and as a birdwatching nature reserve. A lot of effort is required to make this a tourist destination. At the moment, Baijnath, with its ugly, poorly constructed buildings has no town planning and nil building regulations. It's a surprise anyone would wish to come here, or having come unwittingly, stay for long.

Har har mahadev. A heritage pilgrim sight of our Sanaatan dharm. Mahadev and Parvati maa temple built here around 9-12th century. The construction is remarkable. Baijnath Barrage is situated next to it . A small lake is made where dishes and snakes can be sighted. Very postive aura ina and around temple. The parking space is huge. 50/- for car. Situated on main road.

Rudhradhari temple and waterfall, both are exceptional places. I went during monsoon which made the trek lush green and waterfall full of flow. Had a bath, visited temple, with no rush at the place. Vibe of this place is unbeatable if you're looking for a spiritual or a peaceful experience.

Beautiful drive through the Kumaoni countryside from Kausani and then a 1.5km walk alongside creek through the forest to falls (underwhelming) and temple. Quiet, peaceful and there are food places at the start of the walk.

From my experience the best time to visit the Rudradhari Falls would be during the monsoon or later May. There is a beautiful trek of about 1.5KM. The waterfall has a Shiv Temple adjacent to it. There are many Eateries before the trek but none on the way. The water is clean and cold. Must visit! Neil's Tip:DO NOT VISIT DURING SUMMERS

Hidden waterfall with good story to hear from locals. Peaceful place with a small trek to reach.

This temple is inside a cave deep in the forest. The hike to the temple is a short yet lovely one. Especially if you start very early in the morning. I had a great time hopping boulders, crossing streams, picking up Rhododendron flowers and clicking ton of pics. A must do hike if in Kausani, but not for the seniors who may have joint pain or are not used to hiking.

Was here during heavy rains and the trek seemed not so easy. We hired a guide who charged us 300 after a little bargaining. But the guide was worth it and he also helped with our 2 year old kid. We had to cross 6 streams out of which 2 were knee deep as the river was little flooded. It was worth the visit once we reached the waterfall which also had a heavy flow. We visited during peak monsoon and you would need to check for leech everytime you cross the stream. Definately the trek was worth it once you reach the temple. Please note there is no Jio or Airtel network at this place.

A quiet and peaceful place with beautiful mountain views. Entry is free, and you can spend 1–2 hours here. Quite high parking fee required for four-wheelers, but space is limited. I would recommend it for a one-time visit if you're in Kausani and got spare time.

What a great place. I will suggest you all visit this place in morning then you will able to see clear view of himalayas and its so beautiful. Very peaceful place. The ashram is located at a convenient distance of a kilometre from the Kausani bus stand. Gandhiji spent a number of days here in 1929 and a lot of people come to this place following in his footsteps. Local legend proudly suggests that Gandhiji was so besotted by the natural beauty of the place that he exclaimed that this was truly the Switzerland of India. He is believed to have been working on his theory of Anasakti Yoga, which preaches the belief in the philosophy of non-attachment to the material world. There is a small prayer room in the ashram, where prayers are held every morning and evening. Much like in the rest of the Kumaon region, sublime views of the Himalayas are abundant and omnipresent. The quietude and serenity of the spot is disturbed by little else and heightened by the locally popular reading library. The ashram also features a small archive-like museum that showcases photographs of Mahatma Gandhi’s stay here along with other paraphernalia associated with him. There is also a study and research centre in the ashram, which work towards taking Gandhiji’s philosophies forward. For those looking for an immersive experience, there are a small number of rooms available that can be rented.

It's a great and peaceful place. You may stay here as well. They have cottages and rooms to stay and food on very reasonable prices.

The place is very serene & tranquil with a lot of history attached to it. It is at this very place that Kausani came to be fondly know as the mini Switzerland of India.

In 1929, Gandhiji came to Kausani for two days but he liked the place so much that he stayed here for 14 days and completed the book Anashakti Yoga. Because of this book, this guest house was named Anashakti Ashram. This place is very beautiful and one can get a panoramic view of the Himalayas from here. Kausani is a small village but a very peaceful place.

A peaceful experience awaits anyone who wishes to visit Baba Haidakhan Temple in Ranikhet. It's quaint, clean and generally not busy. Huge campus which is well laid out and has beautiful statues of Bhagwan Shi Hanuman & Nandi. On a clear day you would be delighted with the views of the snow peaks from there. It's the trishul peaks of Nanda Parbat. There's also charitable shop on premises which has a good selection of kurtas & brass items. Pricing is decent.

Binsar Zero Point is the highest point of the Binsar Wildlife, from where one can savour a 360-degree view of the Himalayan beauties namely Kedarnath, Shivling, Trishul and the group of Nanda Devi peaks. Entire trail is beautiful, many birds can see from there. 2 km trail gives you serenity. If you stay in Binsar, must do this trail at morning.

A beautiful point giving a valley view along with mountains all around. If it’s cloudy you will literally feel like walking on the clouds and see them below your eyeline. Majestic place to say the least !

Binsar is a beautiful area about 30km from Almora with an average height of 2412 metres. It is made of a series of ridges and gorges. Binsar used to be summer capital of Chand kings. It was later on established as a sanctuary for the conservation and protection of Oak forests. It has over 200 species of bird. However, when we visited Binsar in February last year, we did not have much luck with seeing these birds, possibly because in winters they had migrated elsewhere.

Ticket price - 250 per car. 200 per person. The fees goes to the forest department while the road is maintained by pwd. As on December 2024, the 10km road to the trek start point is in horrible condition and sedans and low ground clearance vehicles should avoid it. There are half foot craters with mud and I saw cars with broken bumpers. 200mm ground clearance is recommended minimum. The trek itself took around 20 mins one way and it easy . Carry water as there is no water source on the way. The view from here on a clear day is amazing with all peaks visible.

Avoid visiting this place or taking hotel at the top of zero point. The road are such pathetic you will end up telling why did we choose this place. Bikers who love off-roading will definitely love this place but make sure you have a good riding skills. They have ticket of rupees 200per head and Rs250 of car. And there is nothing much at Zero point. The road to zero point is definitely not to travel after 3PM(much recommended) because travelling during dark is very very risky with no light no fencing at the sides and no proper roads might put life in danger.

Absolutely over rated. It's a good hike and view but you can get it anywhere in and around Binsar. No need to make an effort to do this trail. If you are there it's okay to trek but then there are so many trails everywhere. In fact staying inside the forest is also not necessary. The views are better from Dinapani or Kasardevi.

Another must visit temple for any devout hindu visiting Ranikhet & it has a huge reverence. Visit, seek a manokamna & upon realisation of your wish revisit and tie a temple bell on the temple premises. It's very nice!!

The experience was wonderful! The place has an incredible sense of peace and tranquility. Although this temple is often associated with Ranikhet, it’s actually located quite far from there — in a serene, isolated spot right beside the Army Jat Regiment check post. Just 3–4 km from the temple, you can also explore a beautiful garden in choubatia, which is said to be the second largest of its kind in Asia.

Garjiya Devi Temple in Ramnagar is truly a hidden gem! The location is absolutely beautiful, and being right by the riverside adds a serene charm to the whole experience. It’s not just a spiritual place but also an awesome spot for a picnic with family and friends. However, one concern I had was the littering around the river. It takes away from the natural beauty and peaceful vibe of the area. I really hope visitors become more responsible, and some proper dustbins and awareness signs are put up. Also, having toilets easily accessible below the bridge would be a great help. It would ensure cleanliness in the temple premises and make the overall experience even better. Highly recommend visiting, but let’s all do our part to keep this place clean and beautiful!

This is a beautiful temple located by the riverside, surrounded by a serene and scenic environment. The location is excellent, and you can even take a bath or play in the river. To reach the Devi, you’ll need to climb some steep steps, but it’s truly worth it. An excellent place to visit, though weekends can get crowded.”

I have visited this place during my visit to Ramnagar. I have not visited the temple inside so can't comment on it but it has big lines to go inside the temple. Beside that there is a beautiful river which is must visit place. There you can take bath in water and devour with Maggie and basic food which is really a good place for hangout with friends and family.

Patal Bhuvaneshwar is a hidden pilgrimage centre, seepded in mystery and mythology, near Gangolihat, on the way to Berinag, at a distance of 35 kms. from Pithoragarh. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The way to the cave temple is through a long, narrow tunnel. The cave is 160 m long and 90 feet deep from the point of entrance. Patal Bhuvaneshwar is not merely a natural wonder but the abode of Lord Shiva himself. Skandh Puran has it that the cave serves as a gateway to the netherworld, where the divine trinity—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—reside in eternal harmony. A thrilling experience. After getting down from the vehicle, it's 1.5 KM walking distance through a mountain path. For 3 person, ticket charged around 290/-. But when I came to the entry of the downward stairs at this cave, I refused to enter and returned back. But later when I saw that all men, women and even 7 to 10 years kids were entering, then I entered. After climbing down 90 feet of stairs, there was uneven land with misc mythology. Main thing is to hold the chains tightly, which passes from both sides, it will save from any kind of fallen. At the time of climbing up, it's the same funda - hold the chains and move calmly, don't hurry.

Awesome park with lott of adventurous activities. The staff is friendly as well as experienced. The safety of all the visitors is always considered . All the activities are very refreshing . The one and main disadvantage of the park is that the individual activities in the park are very costly. You can go for packages available there to do all the activities at cheap rate. The photographer is also available in the park who can click photos while doing all the adventurous activities.

The instructors were professionals and the activities were worth the money. I paid for the extreme package with a few changes and enjoyed my time at the adventure camp. Happy Adventure!

A good place to spend around 2 hours. It has a few activities for adults and kids as well. Recommendations : the 8 obstacle track which ends in a commando jump. Some activities like gun shooting was not available as they said the gun was not working. Some activities like Sky cycling are new. The arrows for archery didn't have any fletching on them.

Visited Devbhoomi Adventure Zone while staying in a hotel at Dhikaula Corbett. Good place to try some adventure activities. I was there with my two young kids. We tried zip lining and 8 obstacle course. Zip lining was average but 8 obstacle course was lots of fun and adventures to complete. There were many other adventure activities to try. Rates were decent according to the activities. Evening time is the perfect time to visit it as you will not feel much heat. Good place to visit while in Corbett.

Has a beautiful view of the Himalaya. On a clear day you would be able to see a almost a 360 degree view of the valley and range. Very close to the Chauli ki jali and Mukteshwara Dham Temple. Go there check out the view and just relax and soak in the beauty with a cup of warm coffee. I just wish we were there on a day with clear weather.

The area around this place has lot of attraction. The first is mukteshvar mahadev temple. It is at a height of 8200 feet. It's a very old and famous temple and visited by thousands of people. Next to it is chauli ki jaali which has a straight fall of 1000 ft. You can enjoy rope diving here.

A small treak from chauli ki jali leads you to pwd inspection house and it’s beautiful since the local people had tried to keep it clean. There is also an public convenience (sulabh restrooms) available (payments to be done ) they water is scarce so most of time no waters in restrooms. Must watch for the seven peaks watch.

Heritage Hotel with amazing views. The bungalow is old fashioned which was once a heritage site. Now it is run by KMVN as a hotel. The luxury rooms are well kept and the staff is courteous. Breakfast and Dinner are included in room tariff. The food is delicious and home-style. There is a nice lawn/garden. The view is amazing. Mornings are very special very bird chirping and the scenic beauty of sunrise hitting the top of snow bounded mountains. Just grab a cup of tea and enjoy a nature.

This is a must visit attraction of Mukteshwar which shouldn't be missed . The history of this banglow is directly related to Jim Corbett himself . And one can stay in the property too having prior booking . The Himalayan peaks are very clearly visible from here till Nepal . Such beauty isn't visible from Any point . The height of this place is around 7500 feet . Nanda devi peaks and almora are in straight line of sight . The details of all the visible peaks are also mentioned from the view point which is very educative for young kids .

The inspection bungalow is famous for its view of the mountain ranges. It is one of the places to visit for the view of mountain ranges and if you are lucky with the weather (no cloudy day) then you can cherish the amazing view of Trishul, Nanda ghunti, and even panchahuli peaks. So this place has no parking lot as such you have to park your vehicle outside the gate of the bungalow on the road itself. Then you can enter the bungalow and reach towards the open ground with wooden sitting benches and a table. And the viewpoint from where you can click the photographs and cherish the majestic view of peaks. The garden is well maintained and planted with so many beautiful Dahlia and gladiolus flowers. So this place also provides or serves you as a guest house, if you want to stay there you can book rooms from the kmvn website. And if you are not staying here then you can also come to this place just to admire the view with a cup of chai and coffee and pakoras. Yes, they also have a little canteen so they serve as per their menu. We enjoyed our view with chai and pakoras do visit this place and admire the majestic view.

If you already went to places like waichin valley, Tosh, munsyari, ladakh etc. this one may not impress you. However, sunset from the cliff is impressive and now the zipline is also added (fare 500 pp). Walking distance (5 minutes) from Mukteshwar mahadev mandir.

This place is situated just beside the Mukteshwar Dham Temple. There is walkway just beside the entry of the temple that leads you to this place. On the entry to the walkway, you have small open shops and eateries where you can munch on Samosa, Kachori, Fruit Chat, Rajma Chawal, Dal Chawal and much more. You need to walk around 500 mts before you reach this place and once you reach there are more eateries. There are even two ziplines if you are someone who loves thrill. The place is now heavily commercialized and that's my first complain with this scenic place. Chauli ki Jhali is essentially a mountain cliff which gives you breath-taking views of Himalayas and there is no wonder this place is so popular but due to heavy commercialization the place is very dirty and too crowded. You can spend good 15-20 mins here taking back the mesmerizing views the place has to offer. Also dno't forget to click some pics on the first cliff just when you enter the area. That spot is a good one. Totally recommened and more so in off season.

Great holy temple of Lord Shiva. Around 350 yrs old. We need to ascend some 136 steps but the temple and view from top is worth it. Chauli ki jaali too is near by to this place.

A serene temple with breathtaking views—but be prepared for a bit of a hike! Mukteshwar Dham Temple is truly a peaceful and spiritually uplifting place, perched right at the top of Mukteshwar. The view from up there is absolutely stunning—calm, serene, and perfect for some quiet reflection. The temple itself has a divine energy, and even though it can get a bit crowded, the overall experience is still incredibly soothing. That said, one thing to be aware of is the parking situation. Cops won’t allow you to drive all the way up to avoid traffic jams, so you’ll have to park about 1.5 km before the temple. From there, you have two choices: either enjoy a moderately steep uphill walk or hop on a scooter offered by local riders, which usually costs ₹50–₹100 for the ride to the top. The walk can be a bit of a challenge, especially for elderly people or those not used to walking uphill, so plan accordingly. Despite this small inconvenience, the view and the temple make it absolutely worth the effort.

Holi place in Nainital district of Uttarakhand about 57 kilometers drive from Nainital city. Temple of Mukeshwar Mahadev. Excellent view of snow peaks from Mukteshwar. Many luxury hotels are available there. There was apple orchards on the way. Temple is situated at the top of Mukteshwar.

If possible, AVOID going to the temple on weekends, especially during peak season. The cab-wallahs will not tell you that the cabs will be stopped about 2 kms before the temple, and then you will either have to walk all the way through a nightmarish traffic or hire a two-wheeler to cover that distance. You will end up paying 2500/- to the cab-wallah (from Kasiyalekh) and then either walk 2 kms (one way) to the temple or pay another 200/- to the two-wheeler-wallah (for one person) for riding one way. So, if you are a group of 4, you will have to shell out another 1600/- if you choose to take the two-wheeler ride for all, both ways. The locals exploit the situation, but the administration is not bothered. If you choose to go in a self driven vehicle, be prepared to get mad. If you are only 2 in a group, a better way would be to hire a two-wheeler to the temple from Kasiyalekh instead of going there in a four- wheeler. But, we were told that on weekdays the situation is not so bad. We visited this place on Saturday, 21 June 2025. I tried to find some peace, serenity, and calmness at the temple but failed miserably. The covered concrete steps to the temple are a recent construction (although it has definitely ruined the beauty of the natural surroundings of the temple). Before, it used to be a hike to the temple through the jungle around.

Naina Devi Temple is a quiet and peaceful place with great mythological significance for Hindus. The temple management is very good, polite, and well-organized. We visited during the Nanda Devi festival, when the entire area was filled with vibrant energy and a lively fair (mela) was organized as part of the celebrations. During festivals, the temple timings are extended till 10 pm, allowing devotees more time for darshan. It is truly a must-visit place in Nainital, offering both spiritual serenity and cultural vibrance.

Nainital Lake is a beautiful spot surrounded by green mountains. I visited with my family and we loved the amazing view of the hills reflecting in the clear water. Boating on the lake was a peaceful and fun experience. The cool breeze and calm water made it even better. There are nice pathways around the lake for walking and enjoying the scenery. Great Trail. You can reach the top either by horses or by foot. Would highly recommend by foot. I did after heavy rainfall and didn't faced any issue. Well maintained and there is shops on top too. Frankly the Tiffin Top is one of the most beautiful treks I've ever had. I didn't give a five star rating only because there are no directions anywhere on the way and I had serious doubt which way to take at least in one juction where I saw some people taking the wrong route. Apart from that, the king cobble stone path to the top is good enough to walk and it is not too steep. I went in the rainy season in August, there were very few visitors and so the ticket counter was closed. Otherwise you need to buy a ticket for ₹ 50. Several reviews mentioned monkeys but I saw none on the way, probably also because it was not tourist season. Thank God it did not rain. Otherwise the trek would have been difficult. The view from the top is really beautiful but you need to be careful up there as there are no barricades. I think they are building some. There are two restaurants in the top where you can buy water to tea to soft drinks and even full meals. Of course it's expensive. I really enjoyed the trek all the way from the lake.

Good tracking path with panoramic view on the top. We had a chance to visit Tiffin top this last month and it turned out nice tracking for us . Let me start from the beginning. We were just roaming around and checking the beautiful villas. Most of them were magnificent in their architecture. After few minutes we come across a blue sign board with Tiffin Top written on it. The weather was not good for track ans we were all no prepared for any tracking hence we decided to pass and walk further. After walking for an half an hour we reached to second point which was bit rough and less construct than the previous one. Btw, There are two tracks to reach on the top and that was the second one. We were skeptical but thought to check hence we embarked to move on the track. If you are fond of Snail the second track would be better for you. While tracking we witnessed beautiful curve and breathtaking mansion view on the way to tiffin top. Those villa were like we have all seen in movies, maybe some of us have seem in horror one. Anyway, the place is nice and track is too. Although the tiffin top is damaged now and has less space to seat relax

Zoo is located on a peak accessible only through shuttles operating infront of India hotel on mall road. There's lot of walking and steep accent there no caddy available, therefore I would suggest avoiding aged people OT people who are not comfortable with heavy cardio. Overall zoo have decent number of species and animals are quite active.

Frankly, the zoo is nice, if you like climbing hills. I found it strenuous. You have to walk uphill quite a lot to reach the tickets counter and then inside the zoo more climbing. I enjoyed watching the tigers, leopards and red pandas and some mountain goats and deers. But many of the cages were empty. Sometimes only after a steep climb to an enclosure you realise that there is nothing there. Still I liked what I saw though I was really tired with all that climbing up.

The Nainital Zoo is located at a very high point. From Mall Road, you can take a cab service that charges ₹70 per person and drops you near the entry area. After that, you still have to walk quite a bit uphill to reach the ticket counter, where the ticket price is ₹150 per person. Once you enter the zoo, you first get to see some beautiful birds, followed by the Bengal tiger and many other animals. Since the zoo is situated at a high altitude, you have to keep walking uphill inside as well. If you have elderly people with you, it’s better not to take them along due to the steep climb. Apart from that, the zoo is surrounded by nature and the peaceful environment really wins your heart.

This Aashram is situated 9 km from Lohaghat. Roads are narrow and with beautiful view. This place has morning and afternoon visit times and closed for a couple of hours for lunch. Beautiful view, Aashram hospital with free treatment, meditation room, Museum, lake, organic farming, Library. You can spend hours sitting and appreciating this place. No canteen, food stalls nearby. Booking for these ashram can be done via their website. Absolutely in love with this place.

Very close to Champawat, about 21 km. Located in a perfect, well maintained, green place and developed vastly for the good of the people around. Advaita Ashrama, is a branch of the Ramakrishna Math, founded during 1899 at the behest of Vivekananda, by his disciples James and Charlotte Sevier. It is completely dedicated to the study and practice of Advaita Vedanta. No idol worshipping here, NONE what so ever. Initially when I had started visiting this place about 15 years ago, the flowers bloomed happily in front of the few meditative rooms. A nursery was there to provide to those, who were fascinated with the 'hard-to-find-elsewhere' plants which included to a few types of cactus, but no longer so. I had also managed to click a barricaded fantastic, out of the world , printing machine from olden days ( which has disappeared since).... and am trying to find the picture of it somewhere in my photo logs if possible. A hospital has now come up to look after the plight of quiet a few attendees and visitors, to care for there ailments. I have not only been fascinated with Shri Vivekanand's works and life but am equally fascinated to visit this place off and on, just to breath in the purity.
