(Translated by Google) Mata Lal Devi Temple, located near Rani Ka Bagh, Amritsar, is a highly famous and revered religious place. It is also known as "Vaishno Devi of Punjab". This temple is built in the honor of Mata Lal Devi, who is considered a saint and is considered to be a symbol of divine powers. This temple is especially famous for female devotees, who come to seek blessings from the Mother Goddess for having children. The architecture and structure of the temple is similar to the Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. The caves, narrow passages and flow of water inside the temple give an experience like a visit to Vaishno Devi. Apart from this, idols of various gods and goddesses are installed in the temple, making it an important pilgrimage site. Special events are held here during Navratri and other Hindu festivals, and thousands of devotees come to visit. Mata Lal Devi Temple is known for its miraculous experiences and faith, and has an important place among the religious places of Amritsar. Ghanshyam Prajapati

Worth visit place. Management must allocate some cost for renovation l, add some seating benches near pools so parents can monitor children without getting into pools. Not sure what will be best but they must add some good technology for water cleaning during use. Recommended for family gatherings.

There’s something for everyone: speed slides, racer slides, bullet slides, a twister slide, free-fall slides, even a “lazy river” for those who want to float and relax. For the little ones, smaller pools and gentler slides make it safe and fun.

My advice is take your swim suit from home if you are visiting there you can also find shops there.... Ladies and gents have separate area.... The gents are having more sports than the ladies...

Gobindgarh Fort

Fortress
Gobindgarh Fort, a historic fortress dating back to the 17th century, is a significant part of Amritsar's heritage. Spanning across 43 acres, this fort offers visitors an immersive experience through infotainment shows such as light and sound displays, a museum showcasing its history, and exhibitions. The fort also hosts cultural performances including bhangra and gatka shows.
Visiting Gobindgarh Fort was an incredible experience — a fascinating blend of history, heritage, and modern technology. The 7D show was absolutely thrilling, bringing to life the glorious era of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in a way that leaves you spellbound. The museum, live performances, and cultural exhibits beautifully showcase the rich legacy of Punjab — from its bravery and tradition to its music and art. Every corner of the fort tells a story, making it an experience you’ll never forget. A perfect destination for those who want to feel connected to Punjab’s pride, culture, and spirit — all in one place. Truly, Gobindgarh Fort is where the past meets the present in the most inspiring way! 🇮🇳❤️
Yaduveer S — Google review
To be honest I was quite disappointed with the whole experience. The ticket prices are little high for what they offer. The Bhangra troupe was excellent. Apart from that, everything else was sub par I would say. Especially the hyped 7DX show. I have seen way more immersive and better shows in theme parks. Overall I would say, if you have the time and money to spend and really really want to explore something new, then only visit the place.

The fort is quite good - clean, maintained. They have some activities which can take some time (short movie, a pmpagdi/turban museum & some activities lined through +food & shopping).. Overall ~2 hours (minimum) to peacefully roam around the place.

Visiting Gobindgarh Fort was an exciting blend of history and technology. The 7D show brought the glorious past of Maharaja Ranjit Singh to life in a thrilling way. The museum, live performances, and cultural exhibits made the experience unforgettable. A perfect mix of heritage, entertainment, and pride in Punjab’s rich legacy
KAMAL A — Google review
A fort of historical significance, but suffers low maintenance and inadequate patronage. There is a Pagdi museum, good Bhangra performance and a 7D movie show on Maharaja Ranjit Singh which would be liked by the Children (different going that the glitches in movie visuals have gotten fixed by now). Tickets cost about 350 per adult and it is recommended to visit in the evening. A battery cart (chargeable) takes visitors from the ticket counter to fort location, which is about a 500m walk otherwise. Though there are eateries, I could not venture to try them.
Kranti — Google review
We really enjoyed visiting this fort. But we were surprised for entrance fee for foreigners 700 INR! Including is 20 min.long 7D movie about Maharaja. It’s very overpriced. At least we made nice photos there.

It's an interesting and huge fort. As foreigners, we paid 250 Indian Rupees per person as entrance fee. There were not a lot of visitors.

Dharmashala Durgiana Temple & Shivala Trust Jyotish is a renowned Hindu temple situated in Amritsar, Punjab. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and also houses idols of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The temple's architecture resembles that of the Golden Temple in the same city.
Peaceful place. There r All temple of hindu. Sitla Mata, Hanuman Mandir, Laxmi Narayan Temple🕌, Shani Temple🕌 nd Bhairo Nath g.

The Dharamshala was good, but something I didn't like was the Khatmal on the beds, I couldn't sleep the whole night and had to change the room the next day. My visit was pretty good besides the room issue. There is a restaurant near Dharmashala and a sweet shop as well. The restaurant is just a few steps away from the Dharamshala and its Chhole Bhature prepared from Desi Ghee. The taste and everything is undefined. The purity, my experience was the best about the food and other shops. It's worth the time and money. It is affordable, no offence. I recommend the Rasmalai and chhole bhature! Whenever you go to Amritsar or visit The Golden Temple, make sure you grab a bite of these. May Guru Nanak Ji Bless You!
Ishika — Google review
Durgiana Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in Amritsar, in an Indian state called Punjab. This temple was built in the honour of Goddess Durga, hence the name Durgiana Temple. You can also find the idols of Lord Vishnu, who is known as the protector of the world and Goddess Lakshmi who is known as the goddess of wealth in this temple. The architecture style of the Durgiana Temple is similar to the style of the Golden Temple which is a Gurudwara located in the same city. Both temples hold an equal amount of importance in the city in terms of worship. The Durgiana Temple is also known as Sitla Mandir, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and Durga Tirath temple amongst the locals in Punjab. According to Hindu mythology, many incidences took place in this temple wherein one incidence Lava and Kusha (Children of Lord Rama) tied Lord Hanuman to a tree in the temple as a challenge. And in another incidence, it is said that the grandson of Lord Surya, Iksvaku, had performed a number of yagyas in the same area. Therefore, according to Hindu Mythology, the land of Durgiana Temple is considered as a holy land. Since the Durgiana Temple is built in the middle of the sacred lake, it is said that the temple holds holy power which helps people with their problems. Since there are many temples located in the city of Amritsar, it is the best city to be in the list of your pilgrimage tours. It is a brilliantly built temple.

It offers an exhaustive set of items providing insights into the country's history. The museum showcases various artifacts dating back to prehistoric and BC ages, as well as exhibits from ancient history and handicraft works. A visit to this museum is a must for those interested in delving into the rich history of the region.
The Partition Museum, located near Town Hall in Amritsar, is the world’s first museum dedicated to the memory of India’s Partition of 1947. It beautifully yet painfully captures the human stories, struggles, and resilience of millions who experienced one of the largest mass migrations in history. ✔️ Highlights: • Personal stories, letters, photographs, and belongings of refugees • Audio-visual exhibits narrating real-life experiences of Partition • Art installations and maps showing migration routes and refugee camps • Peace Wall with messages of hope and unity • Well-curated galleries that take you on a chronological journey of events before, during, and after Partition ⚠️ Things to keep in mind: • The atmosphere is emotional and heavy—be prepared for a moving experience • Allow 1.5–2 hours to explore fully • Photography is restricted in certain sections • Closed on Mondays—check timings before visiting ⭐ Overall: A powerful and emotional museum that makes history come alive through real human experiences. Visiting the Partition Museum is not just educational, but also deeply moving, reminding us of the value of peace and unity.

I recently visited the Partition Museum in Amritsar, and I really liked it. The museum is very informative and gives a deep insight into the history and emotions of the Partition of 1947. The displays, personal stories, and photographs are very moving and beautifully presented. It gives deep sense of emotions when we learn the sacrifices of the innocent made because of few people's greed, stubbornness and unplanned activity. Overall, it’s a must-visit place.

This partition museum is about how the actual partition happened between India and Pakistan who fought together for independence but demanded different countries for different religions The Partition Museum is a public museum located in the town hall of Amritsar, Punjab, India.[1] The museum aims to become the central repository of stories, materials, and documents related to the post-partition riots that followed the division of British India into two independent dominions: India and Pakistan. The museum also focuses on the history of the “anti-colonial movement, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the Komagata Maru incident, the All India Muslim League and the Indian National Congress, and the journey of resilience and recuperation for women”.The building wherein the museum is located in Amritsar was also “once the British headquarters and a jail”. The museum was inaugurated on 25 August 2017. Punjab In 1947, British India was divided into India and Pakistan. The partition lines, drawn on a map by the British lawyer Cyril Radcliffe, divided the province of Punjab and Bengal into two parts on the basis of religion. As a result, millions of people found themselves on the wrong side of the border overnight. According to various estimates, more than 800,000 Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs were killed in the riots that followed the partition between August 1947 to January 1948. Additionally, more than 1,400,000 people became refugees.

The Partition Museum, located in Amritsar, Punjab, is a unique and deeply moving institution dedicated to the memory of the 1947 Partition of India. It's the first of its kind in the world, serving as a powerful memorial and a central repository for the stories, artifacts, and documents from that tumultuous period. A "People's Museum" The museum's core mission is to tell the human stories of the Partition. Instead of focusing solely on political events, it highlights the experiences of the millions of people who were displaced, lost their homes, and endured immense suffering. The museum's collection is built largely on oral histories and personal artifacts donated by survivors and their families—things like clothes, utensils, and letters that people carried with them as they fled their homes. Location and Exhibits The museum is housed in the historic Town Hall building in Amritsar, a fitting location given the city's close proximity to the India-Pakistan border and its central role in the events of 1947. The exhibits are arranged chronologically, taking visitors through the events that led up to the Partition, the mass migration and violence that followed, and the subsequent efforts of rehabilitation and resettlement. Through photographs, videos, audio recordings, and personal belongings, the museum creates a powerful and often heartbreaking narrative. Why It's Important The Partition was one of the largest mass migrations in human history, with millions of people displaced and an estimated one to two million killed. For decades, there was no dedicated memorial or museum to commemorate this event. The Partition Museum fills this void, ensuring that the stories of the survivors and the legacy of this historical event are not forgotten. It serves as a reminder of the human cost of political decisions and the resilience of those who rebuilt their lives after such a profound upheaval. Very beautiful and well managed. They provide audiotours so you don’t have to worry if you know about history or not. It gives goosebumps while going through and getting to know things. 1-1.30 hrs is enough. No photography allowed inside. Ticlets are proced at Rs. 10. The theme is; as the name suggests- partition, what led to the partition and the aftermath! Do visit, it’s near Golden Temple Complex only. Closed on Monday.

Sights & Landmarks
Akal Takht Sahib, also known as Akal Bunga, is a significant religious site for Sikhs. Established in 1606, it is one of the five takhts in Sikhism and serves as a place for seeking justice. Situated next to the Golden Temple in Amritsar, it houses ancient Sikh scriptures and books. There is no entry fee to visit this sacred place, which is open from 5 AM to 10 PM daily.
The first and the most important t The first and the most important takht was established by Guru Hargobind in 1609: Akal Takht (the Throne of the Timeless God), located just opposite the gate of Harmandir Sahib (The Golden Temple), in Amritsar. While the Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple, represents Sikh spiritual guidance, the Akal Takht symbolizes the dispensing of justice and temporal activity. It is the highest seat of temporal authority of the Khalsa and the seat of the Sikh religion's earthly authority. There, the Guru held his court and decided matters of military strategy and political policy. Later on, the Sikh Nation (Sarbat Khalsa) took decisions here on matters of peace and war and settled disputes between the various Sikh groups. Jarnailsinh Bhindranwale occupied it in 1984. To make Akaltakht free from Jarnailsinh Bhindranwale and his followers, Indian Army attacked on them. This was damaged and rebuilt.

The overall grounds with Harmindir Sahib (Golden Temple) showcased in the middle. It is hard to even describe the STUNNING BEAUTY of the grounds. This the cultural/religious center of Sikhism and you will see and learn everything you would ever want to know about the culture here. We used Roobaroo walls to arrange our tour of Amritsar and this was the crown jewel of the visit. It is truly BREATHTAKING. Everywhere you look you will see the architectural detail that will amaze. AND YOU CAN ALSO SERVE AS WELL BY BOTH PAYING FOR FOOD DONATED AND PROVIDING YOUR LABOR IN THE KITCHEN AS THEY SERVE THE DESTITUTE. DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY YOU WILL GAIN THE TRUE SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE. Definitely go in early-mis evening so you see the full visual grandeur as darkness sets in and you see the illumination the grounds!! A TRULY ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!

Sri Akal Takht Sahib was built by Guru Hargobind Sahib with the help of Baba Buddha Ji and Bhai Gurdas Ji. The nine feet tall concrete slab was revealed by Guru Hargobind on June 15, 1606, when he wore two swords, the Miri and the Piri, which indicate his temporal and religious authority, respectively. Every year on July 2 the Sikh community across the globe honours the establishment of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. It is one of five takhts (seats) of the Sikhs which is considered to be the first and most important Takht situated in Amritsar. Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Guru of the religion, laid the foundation of this platform inside the Golden Temple complex🙏

A Symbol of Sikh Courage, Justice, and Spiritual Authority Akal Takht Sahib, located within the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar, is not just a religious site — it is the highest seat of temporal authority in Sikhism. Standing directly opposite the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), it beautifully represents the balance between spiritual devotion and worldly responsibility. The atmosphere is powerful and humbling. You can truly feel the strength, dignity, and sacrifice associated with Sikh history and values. The architecture is majestic, and the energy of the place fills you with pride and peace at the same time. Visiting Akal Takht Sahib is a deeply moving experience. It reminds you of the courage of the Gurus and the resilience of the Sikh community. A must-visit for anyone coming to Amritsar — whether spiritual, curious, or simply seeking inspiration. Having heard so much of the incident on 1919 when the British indiscriminately fired on and killed and wounded many Indians, visiting Jallianwala Bagh was a deeply moving and emotional experience for us. The moment you walk in, as you have heard a lot of on the event, you can feel the weight of history all around you. They have preserved bullet marks on the walls and the well with a tragic story behind it serve as powerful reminders of the sacrifices made during India's freedom struggle. Government has done some renovation also. A good step. The place brings in a strong sense of patriotism and gratitude. It is located at a walking distance near the revered Golden Temple, and a must see of any trip to Amritsar, offering a stark reminder of India's struggle for independence. A must visit historical monument for all Indians. There are a lot of informative displays and a garden area for reflection. The place was very crowded as we went on a weekend.

Visiting Jallianwala Bagh was a deeply emotional experience. The moment I entered, I could feel the weight of history in the air. The bullet marks on the walls and the Martyrs’ Well speak volumes about the pain and courage of those who stood here a century ago.The place is beautifully maintained and filled with stories that remind us what freedom truly cost. The eternal flame and memorial create a peaceful yet powerful atmosphere that leaves you silent and reflective. It’s not just a tourist spot — it’s a reminder of bravery, sacrifice, and the resilience of our nation. Every Indian should visit at least once.

Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar is not just a tourist destination — it’s a sacred ground of history and sacrifice that every Indian carries in their heart. I had always wanted to visit this place, and being here was a deeply emotional and humbling experience. Having read and heard about the tragic incident of 1919, when innocent Indians were mercilessly fired upon by British troops, stepping inside the Bagh fills you with a powerful sense of grief and respect. You can almost feel the weight of history in the air. The preserved bullet marks on the walls and the Martyrs’ Well stand as silent yet powerful reminders of the immense courage and suffering of those who laid down their lives for our freedom. The recent renovations by the government have enhanced the site while maintaining its historical essence — a thoughtful step indeed. Located just a short walk from the Golden Temple, this memorial is an essential part of any visit to Amritsar. The informative displays, peaceful garden areas, and solemn atmosphere make it a place for reflection and gratitude. It was quite crowded when we visited over the weekend, but that only shows how strongly this place continues to touch the hearts of people. A must-visit historical monument for every Indian — one that rekindles patriotism, pride, and deep respect for our nation’s freedom fighters. 🇮🇳❤️

My visit to Jallianwala Bagh was one of the most emotional and meaningful experiences I’ve had while travelling. The moment you enter, the atmosphere itself feels heavy with history. This is not just a tourist spot—it’s a place that carries the pain, sacrifice, and bravery of countless innocent people who lost their lives on 13 April 1919. Walking through the narrow entrance, you immediately understand how trapped people must have felt during the tragic massacre. The preservation of the site is commendable. The bullet marks on the walls, the Martyrs’ Well, and the museum galleries are maintained with respect and detail. Each display, photograph, and written description helps you understand the magnitude of what happened here. The museum section is especially powerful, offering well-curated visuals, documents, and audio clips that make history come alive. The gardens and pathways are clean, the lighting is good, and the entire place is organized to handle heavy crowds. Despite being a popular tourist place, there’s a sense of silence and reflection everywhere. Security checks are smooth, and the staff is helpful in guiding visitors. In my opinion, Jallianwala Bagh is a must-visit landmark for every Indian. It’s not only a place to see but a place to feel. You leave with a deeper understanding of our freedom struggle and immense respect for the martyrs who sacrificed everything. Highly recommended for students, families, and anyone visiting Amritsar.

Jallianwala Bagh is one of the most historic places in India, carrying the painful memory of the tragic massacre of 1919. Visiting this site is both an emotional and educational experience, as it reminds us of the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle. The preserved walls with bullet marks and the memorial serve as powerful symbols of the disaster that should never be forgotten. The site is maintained well and provides proper historical explanations through displays and plaques, making it easier for visitors to understand the events that unfolded here. One of the best things about Jallianwala Bagh is that there is no entry fee, so anyone can walk in and pay their respects. It is located very close to the Golden Temple, which makes it convenient to cover both in the same trip. The garden closes at 5 p.m., so visiting early is recommended not only to avoid the harsh sun but also to have ample time to explore peacefully. Be cautious, though, as there are occasional pickpocketing incidents reported around the area, and police presence is limited. On the brighter side, the place is surrounded by plenty of restaurants. Entry and exit are through different gates, ensuring smooth movement of visitors.

The place is well maintained and there’s no entry fee. You can easily spend a couple of hours exploring around and understanding the history connected to this site. As you walk through, you’ll come across many untold stories. some displayed, some narrated by locals or guides. A must-visit place in Amritsar to truly feel a part of India’s past.

Jallianwala Bagh is a powerful and emotional historic place that reminds us of the tragic 1919 massacre. The bullet marks and the Shaheed Well clearly show the pain and sacrifice of innocent people. The small museum inside provides simple and useful information about what happened that day. The atmosphere is peaceful, yet filled with deep emotions. Overall, it is a must-visit place to understand India’s freedom struggle and pay respect to the martyrs.

What a place i had no clue that kapurthala have this much great history. I went there with my friend he told me about it. And this mahal is so impressive. And thank to those who kept it nicely as SAINIK SCHOOL.

Beautifully built, but of course not looked after properly. Walking thru, you can travel back to the time it would’ve been built - the passion, the vision, its use, the grandeur. Kind of sad to see it in its current run down state. But it’s still a gorgeous building to visit and marvel at its majestic grand beauty. The watchman at the gates were very friendly, as were all the school staff. Beware: you can’t rock up and enter. Since it now operates as a school, due to safety concerns Entry is strictly by permission. Basically you need to know someone who can account for you.

They don't let you go in anymore which is such a shame. It baffles me the policies the government puts in place where citizens of the country aren't allowed to visit it's treasures. Something for @sainik school and the administration of kapurthala to consider. We were asked at the gate to get permission from the DC office where they told us sorry, no permission given!

The Jagatjit Palace has been converted to a Sainik School. The school has been in existence for around four odd decades and has produced some outstanding officer for the defence forces besides other walks of life. The Jagatjit Palace has lost much of its original splendor and is presently in a rather dilapidated condition. The museum has lost much of its sheen and the school building too is in need of repair. However the palace does provide a glimpse of the grandeur that it once boasted including the marvelously painted, etched and sculptured artifact's. The grounds are an excellent place to visit, albeit after seeking permission from the school authorities.

Nice place to visit. Particularly interesting for children. It is costly in terms of tickets and entertainement. But with the various activities, toy train, boating, shows, huge area, dinosaur park and children enjoyment, with paying the price. Some area was closed today but enough for the day. Normally they ask for package, you can take package which usually costs lower. There are many scenic area, if you like photography then I believe you should plan according for the day light or Sun light directions for best shots.

Harike Wetland

Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled about 55 km south of Amritsar, Harike Wetland stands as the largest wetland in Northern India and a vital bird sanctuary. This stunning area is formed by the confluence of the Sutlej and Beas rivers, creating a vast lake that teems with diverse wildlife, including migratory birds, local fish species, and unique plant life. Nature enthusiasts can immerse themselves in its beauty through guided boat tours or tranquil lakeside walks.
First of all this location is not accurate. This place is named Harike Wetland but if you see the map clearly this location has no river or water source nearby which shows the location is inaccurate. Actually Harike wetland is approx 25 to 30km away from this location. This location misguided me too once but i changed location to Harike Bird Sanctuary. For easy and precise navigation i would suggest searching for Harike Barrage(Indira Gandhi Canal) or Gurudwara Nanaksar Sahib in Harike which is approx 300 mt away from Harike wetland or Bird sanctuary. You can start the journey to this sanctuary from that Gurudwara. Regarding this place, its beautiful natural wetland, winters are the best time to visit when birds from europe migrate to India.

You can spot rare birds, enjoy peaceful walks, and capture stunning photographs. 📸 The area is clean, calm, and well-preserved, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers. A must-visit near Amritsar!

About 55 km south of Amritsar, Harike is India’s largest wetland and a designated bird sanctuary. Created by the confluence of the Sutlej and Beas rivers, the vast lake supports abundant wildlife—migratory waterfowl, local fish species, and endemic flora. Visitors explore via guided boat rides and lakeside paths. It’s a paradise for birdwatchers, nature lovers and photographers, especially in winter when Siberian ducks, pelicans and cranes flock here. The landscape blends serenity with biodiversity, making it a major eco-tourism site near Amritsar.

Roughly 55 km south of Amritsar lies Harike, India’s largest wetland and an important bird sanctuary. Formed where the Sutlej and Beas rivers meet, this sprawling lake nurtures a rich variety of life—ranging from migratory birds and native fish to rare plant species. Tourists can discover its beauty through guided boat trips and peaceful lakeside trails. During the winter months, it transforms into a hotspot for bird enthusiasts, drawing Siberian ducks, pelicans, and cranes. Combining calm natural surroundings with remarkable biodiversity, Harike is a key eco-tourism attraction in the Amritsar region.

Also, don’t forget to buy most famous Besan Barfi from here. It’s so tasty, less sugary and the quality is just awesome. Washrooms are so hygienic and tidy just like International Airports or Shopping Malls. Here, no one runs behind you to make you pay for Dharshan and getting blessings of Nakodar Darbar. The pond behind this Dargah is one of the most cleaned and beautiful pond I have ever seen in my life. The water is so clean and the palm trees surrounding it is just so scenic and amazing. Gurdwara Godri Sahib, located 4 km from Faridkot on the Faridkot-Kotkapura road, marks the spot where Baba Sheikh Farid is believed to have left his “godari” (jacket) before entering Faridkot. Built in 1982, the gurdwara includes a “Sant Sarovar” (holy pond) where devotees, especially on Thursdays, take a sacred dip for spiritual blessings. The site gains prominence during the annual Baba Farid Festival in September, attracting pilgrims. Revered for its deep historical and spiritual significance, the gurdwara stands as a tribute to Baba Farid’s legacy, drawing visitors who seek peace and divine blessings.

It's a beautiful Gurudwara Sahib built in the memory of Baba Sheikh Farid Ji Shakargand. It's out of the city rush therefore it's a very peaceful place. There is plenty of parking space available in the courtyard. There is an old Gurudwara Sahib building left to the entrance and there is a new one as well which is more like a big hall. Langar and tea served here. There is a holy pond where you can take dip before offering prayers. If you want to stay overnight, they provide that accomodation too. There is book stall available near langar hall from where you can buy books related to Baba Farid Ji and other respected Sikh figures. My recent visit to Gurudwara Nanaksar Kaleeran Sahib was a deeply spiritual and peaceful experience. Surrounded by lush green fields and calm countryside air, this sacred place holds a unique aura of serenity and divine connection. As soon as I stepped inside the Gurudwara premises, I felt an overwhelming sense of calmness and purity. The melodious kirtan (hymns) being sung by the ragis created an atmosphere that touched the soul and helped quiet the mind. The architecture of the Gurudwara is beautiful — simple yet grand, reflecting traditional Sikh design with its white marble and golden dome. The premises were immaculately clean and well-maintained, showing the dedication of the sewadars who serve here with true devotion. The experience was further elevated when I received the Hukamnama Sahib, the divine order of the day, which felt personally guiding and deeply meaningful. I’ve attached the image of the Hukamnama as a cherished reminder of the spiritual wisdom received that day. The Langar (community meal), as always, was a symbol of equality and kindness — prepared and served with love, reminding us of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of seva (selfless service) and vand chakna (sharing with others). Overall, my visit to Nanaksar Kaleeran Sahib was more than just a trip — it was a soulful experience that renewed faith, brought peace, and filled the heart with gratitude. A truly divine place that every devotee should visit. 🙏✨ #GurudwaraNanaksarKaleeran #Hukamnama #Faith #Peace #Sikhism #Seva #SpiritualJourney

As Ahmad Shah was returning home after his historic victory over the Marathas in the third battle of Panipat in 1761, the Sikhs had harassed him all the way from the River Sutlej right up to the Indus Valley. When the Sikhs returned to central Punjab, they ravaged the country all around, annihilated the Afghan force in Char Mahal, drove away the Faujdar (General) of Jalandhar, plundered Sirhind and Malerkotia, defeated a force which was 12,000 strong, sent by Ahmad Shah from Afghanistan to punish them and another led personally by the Afghan governor of Lahore, and even captured Lahore, all within a short period, June-September 1761. At a general assembly (Sarbat Khalsa) of the Dal at Amritsar convened on the occasion of Bandi Chhor Divas, 27 October 1761, it was resolved to punish the agents, informers and collaborators of the Afghans, beginning with Aqil Das of Jandiala, head of the heretical Niranjania sect and an inveterate enemy of the Sikhs. Aqil Das dispatched messengers hastily to Ahmad Shah Durrani, who had in fact already entered India at the head of a large army. Meanwhile, the Sikhs had besieged Jandiala, 18km east of Amritsar. Aqil Das’s messengers met the Shah at Rohtas. The latter advanced at a quick pace but before he reached Jandiala, the Sikhs had lifted the siege and retired beyond the River Sutlej with the object of sending their families to the safety of the wastelands of Malwa before confronting the invader. Ahmad Shah, on the other hand, determined to teach the Sikhs a lesson, sent messages to Zain Khan, Faujdar (General) of Sirhind, and Bhikhan Khan, Chief of Malerkotia, directing them immediately to check and halt the Sikhs’ advance, while he himself taking a light cavalry force set out at once, covering a distance of 200 km including two river crossings in fewer than 48 hours, caught up with the Sikhs who were encamped at Kup Rahira, 12km north of Malerkotia, at dawn on the 5th of February 1762. The Dal Khalsa, comprising all of the 11 Misls and representatives of the Sikh Chiefs of Malwa, was taken by surprise. The attacks of Zain Khan and Bhikhan Khan were easily repulsed, but the main body of Ahmad Shah, much larger and better equipped, soon overtook them. Having to protect the slow moving baggage train comprising of belongings, women, children, old men and other noncombatants, the Sikhs could not resort to their usual hit and run tactics, and a stationary battle against such superior numbers was inadvisable. On the day of the attack (February 5th ,1762) Zain Khan attacked with his 20,000 men and artillery. Ahmad Shah also joined the attack with 30,000 horsemen. Sardar Jassa Singh and Sardar Charat Singh ordered the Khalsa Army to encircle the women, children and elders and keep proceeding towards Barnala as a war strategy. The Khalsa Army’s only aim was to save the Sangat somehow and fight with enemy to inflict maximum losses on their end. In this process the Khalsa Army suffered heavy casualties.

Vadda Ghalughara (Punjabi: ਵੱਡਾ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰਾ [ʋəɖɖɑ kə̀lːuɡɑ̀ɾɑ], "The Great Massacre") was the mass-murder of the unarmed Sikhs by the Afghan forces of the Durrani Empire during the years of Afghan influence in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent owing to the repeated incursions of Ahmad Shah Durrani in February 1762.[1] It is distinguished from the Chhota Ghalughara (the Smaller Massacre). Mostly non-combatants, were killed[2] in the event and an estimated that 10,000 to 20,000 Sikhs were killed on 5 February 1762

If someone is going to Bathinda one must visit this park. It is regulated by military persons. Horse riding, Bunjee for kids available, entry fee is there for adults and children above 7years. A small pond is there. Above this pond they have a pond crossing activity (like river crossing).
Manjeet P — Google review
One of the best parks in bathinda has plenty of space . Nice getaway from the city for some hours. Had plenty of activities here. Also showcased, some army equipment. Please note that if you are visiting on the two-wheeler helmet, it is complusary, even for a pillion

I truly appreciate the army’s efforts in maintaining the park’s cleanliness and safety. The grounds are always spotless, making it a pleasant place to visit. The well-kept greenery and facilities add to the park’s charm. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my visit. This park is a wonderful example of dedication and care.

I came here on 20/11/22. Ticket price ₹30.00 per person. After that we started roaming around in the park, we initiated from dynasore sculptures. They was three dynasores with different size and fascinating colours. Then, we took round in almost all the areas and got a chance to see different types of species of pigeons, turkeys, pig-rabbit and rabbits. Moreover, we moved on military tanks and car racing 🏎 passage, infact we clicked some pictures over there. *But the bad think is that the management of this park is very pathetic, there was no water body fuctioning and the lake was drought. They even don't know what's going on here, actually when I was seen rabbit and tried to click some pictures then I noticed one rabbit was died out, might be from last night, but didn't care.

Was visiting from UK so everything felt cheap, but for a middle class family living locally it can be really expensive. Can be made a lot better with revenue from food sales. New and Better rides with ample space to put them in. Toilets are best avoided. Scary statue figures can be replaced with something educational for kids. Infact a paid section for a military museum can be opened inside park. Only locals know the place , better signage to the park would help in more footfall. If you need a ride you need to rush to the ticket counter at the gate , something with online payment system near the ride makes more sense as government itself is promoting cashless payments.

Chetak Park is a beautifully maintained park in Bathinda, perfect for families and nature lovers. The greenery, walking paths, and peaceful ambiance make it ideal for morning walks, evening strolls, or simply relaxing with a book. The park is clean, safe, and well-organized, making it a great place to unwind away from the hustle of the city. Highly recommended for a calm, refreshing outing!

Veri nice place to bring young kids.. Lots of activities for kids.. Horse riding, boating, hurdles and lots of slides for kids.. Rides are paid and charges are a bit above reasonable considering it is maintained by Army. But yes lots of activities are free..

Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, located in Talwandi Sabo near Bathinda, is a deeply spiritual and peaceful place. It’s one of the five holy Takhts in Sikhism and holds great importance, as Guru Gobind Singh Ji finalized the Guru Granth Sahib here. The Gurudwara’s calm atmosphere, sacred water tanks, and historical relics make the experience truly moving. Visiting during Vaisakhi is especially beautiful, with the whole place filled with devotion and energy. Though there’s no direct train, it’s an easy drive from Bathinda. Whether you’re religious or just curious, the visit leaves a lasting impression on your heart.

As one approaches the revered Sikh shrine, the tranquil surroundings and the resonant sound of hymns create a peaceful atmosphere. The white marble structure, set against open skies, instills a deep sense of devotion and reflection. Pilgrims gather, offering prayers and listening to recitations of the Guru Granth Sahib. Participating in langar (community meal) highlights the unity and equality valued here. An amazing experience, worth every penny. A great weekend getaway, outside Delhi yet not far away. Be it friends, family or corporate outing, you will love it here. It is an eco-friendly setup wherein they have ducks, dogs, hens, rabbits, lot of lush green fields around, adventure activities, kids activities, camping, etc. You can spend an entire day (or even a night camp) here and forget all your stress. Pro tip - Don't miss their lip smacking food & desserts. PS : The best part is, you are accompanied by a dedicated Marshall who takes you around and guides you throughout your journey!!

Its a nice place for one day outing with your family or friends. Good place for whole day activities. Little far from Delhi but offers many activities like climbing, hanging, pressure rocket, bull standing, shooting, and many other activities. Price of food is also reasonable most of the items are on MRP. Helping and caring staff. Little problem with parking. You can find crowd on weekend may be but on normal days there may be only you to enjoy your whole day alone.

LOHARU FORT IS NOW TEMPORARY CLOSED BY GOVT. BECAUSE FORT IS DILAPIDATED. Nawab Ahmed Baksh Khan, nawab of Loharu is ruler of the fort.
PUSHPENDRAA T — Google review
Worst experience. As soon I visit this place I find that the present condition is so far different from the pics available on google. I don't know why the government haven't paid any attention so far to maintain this fort. Every part of this fort is broken or damaged. Archaeological Survey of India should pay attention here to improve the conditions.
Sudhir P — Google review
Only ruins left of what was a fort once! It definitely has the potential to become one of the top attraction points in and around Loharu. The park adjacent to the fort provides some space for leisure.
Himanshu Y — Google review
Not a magnificent view. A park is built around the fort, which makes it less scenic
Shivam V — Google review
Once being the pride of Loharu, the Fort has been diminished into ruins. Loharu Fort was built in the year 1570 CE by Thakur Arjun Singh.  Rao Shekha had originally divided Shekhawati into 33 thikanas, of which the Fort was 33rd. It was then a small village with a kuccha, a mud fort, and stayed as such until 1800 CE. The Fort was in the hands of later Nawabs of Loharu until 1971 when the Late Nawab Aminuddin Ahmed Khan sold it to the Government of Haryana. Since these buildings were uninhabited, all the north-wing had collapsed as was part of the east-wing. Only the south-wing of the fort (containing the Farukh Manzil) survives, and that too went into a very dilapidated state.

Its a nice place to spend your whole day and trust me in the blink of an eye your whole day will pass.. its amazing the whole process from their warm welcome in morning(9:30 am )to bye bye in the evening (5:30) behavior of all staff remain professional ( someone must be guiding them or keeping an eye on them). you just have to take a cup of tea before leaving your house rest all food and drinks they provide and that too throughout the day, and the quality and taste of food are authentic. if you have good appetite you can recover your 1400 ticket fee through food alone. they have arranged water as well as washroom at every step so that after activities you dont have to go here and there. they provide lots of activities (both outdoor and indoor ) which are impossible to perform in one day, just like we missed all indoor activities like pool, archery etc. very good for people from 7 - 8 years to 40 - 45 years as i had taken my mother but she could just have food items there still she was feeling good to be there as she was watching her grand children enjoying the day. you must be in sports attire to fully enjoy the activities there so be in trousers and sports shoes same goes for female also. they also adding some new things which gonna be available from next year like MIRROR ROOM ESCAPE etc. i just want to request them to increase the evening time limit( beyond 5:30 pm) hope visit here agian to cover the rest of the games and enjoy the tasty food again. good parking space ( free) Note - Zipline is restricted to people having weight between 45kg to 90kg. we had some children below 45kg desired to get on zipline but unfortunately they did not allow( for safety reason) and we can understand that.

1. Approach road is very bad. Big potholes near the farm and near railway line. Cars can get stuck. Take only SUVs. Also pratapgarh farm management should get it fixed since it affects their guests and there is no other farm on this route. 2. No meals for your drivers. 3. Overall fun and activities are good. Very tiring so avoid taking older people unless you can make them rest somewhere. 4. Food is average. Variety is there but low in quality. Curd, chhach was very sour. Bhature oil wasn't good. Aloo sabji was so sour I got acidity. Nimbu paani tasted very artificial. No closing drinks or snacks. Halwa and gylabjamun were tasty. 5. Very hospitable staff on different activities. The pitloom and handloom and animal rides staff was very good. 6. Washroom cleaning needs to be frequent. Its average honestly. Some flushes don't work. Floor needs to be cleaned since soil is there. 7. They also sell handloom, ghee and more village products. 8. Hygiene issues are there. Cleaning of traditional attire clothes, pagdi must be done every night after tourists have used it to avoid spreading germs. 9. Good availablity and supply of cold drinking water near every zone. 10. Good variety of games. 11. Best was the gau shala. It was beautiful ti feed the cows, see the dairy and the temple. They also serve kheer. 12. All adventure sports are safe. Proper equipment. If they fix the approach road and ensure cleaner toilets, it'd be better.

Weekend getaway for Delhities and Gurgaon folks. Adventurous and peaceful place. Good for hiking and zip lining. They offer 5 paths for zip line in their package. Guides are good, they will accompany you in full path (part of package)

Nice adventure. Must try . The staff is cooperative and humble. They instructed well about the process and were very supportive throughout the process. We tried the morning slot as it is less crowded and also saved from sun heat. Need to track to reach the starting point so we prepare for this also . The need to reach the location is another challenge as it is away from the highway. Overall nice experience

Hukum and Nischyal made the experience even more memorable. The weather was amazing so it made it whole lot better. But it can get really hot in june july. There are a total of 5 ziplines. Enjoy the spectacular views while ziplining

Flying fox Neemrana was a great experience. Coach/ instructors Mr Deepak and Mr ChandraVeer were most professional , patient , lively and accommodating. These boys deserve special note for their professionalism. Mr ChandraVeer regaled us with local stories of the zip area while Deepak helped less avid trekkers , pulling people stopping short of destination on the lines and laughing along with the group. Flying fox Neemrana deserves five out of five for safety, adventure , procedure , location and paisa wasul😊!!!

Great experience. Brilliant instructors (Madan and Suraj) Note: There's a 15-20min trek to the top. Nothing too intensive, but just to inform.

Little costly but worth it, as it comes in combination with Fort entry... There are total 5 zips, though only 2 are longer but still 5 zips satisfy your gut.... Initially tracking to the mountain top feels like tiring, but it's worth taking ride...

Zip lining at Neemrana is a must do. Flying fox was awesome at it. The training, instructors, facilities (like harness, gloves and even water bottle) were all too good. The hike up till the zip line was a bit tiring, about 750m of climbing, but it was totally worth it. The views from each of the 5 zip lines were amazing. 2 tips: follow the instructions given by your guides regarding posture, or you'll find yourself pulling on the zip.. and, choose to zip when it's not too sunny as it becomes difficult to climb when it's too hot.

Super relaxing activity. The experience is not adrenalinic, but it sure has very nice views. The staff is very kind and helpful. Nish and Hukum (apologies for spelling errors) were with us, making us feel safe, relaxed, and at home. I would do it again.

A very beautiful landscape to see but not in summers , the place is made for the winters with an extraordinary view and great landscape
Prasoon S — Google review
Good place to visit in summers. Do carry waterbottle while going in canter/gypsy. Canter price around 700 something for indian person. One local guide will be available in canter. Online booking can be done one day prior.
Priyanka B — Google review
Overall experience was good. If you want gypsy then book it in advance otherwise canter will be available. Check time slots before visiting. Chances of tiger sighting is low but if you are lucky enough you can sight tiger
Mohit Y — Google review
There are 2 slots for the safari. One at 6:30 and another at 13:30. Gypsies can be only booked online. In-person booking only offers canter vans. It is recommended to book your slot one day prior (if online) or you can book on the same day (if offline). The safari is of a good 150 to 180 minutes and gypsies offer a better experience than canter vans.

It is lovely place to explore, don't expect much in terms of spotting a Tiger. As Sariska is a huge area and limited tigers are there. As per my recent trips only 12 tigers are there in the whole Sariska Reserve. But Jeep Safari is enjoyable and much fun. If you are planning to go there, better visit in Summer as Summer is the best time to spot the Tiger.

Sariska tiger reserve booking office is 40 km from Alwar city surrounded by Aravalli tiger range, you can get window ticket 1 hr before safari in case availability of ticket is there after online booking. It opens 6 am in the morning and closes at 11 am after safari, reopens at 1 pm for evening safari. I had visited the place with my family and daughter during the occasion of diwali. Safari ticket can be booked from rajasthan.gov.in by following some simple steps. Make a login by aadhar number mail id and mobile number, then as per availability book the slot of safari, there are two gates sariska and tahela, sariska is the main gate, there are 3 tracks which need to mention during booking. There is one cafe for snacks and tea/ coffee, one shop for collections of mementoes of sariska. One gallery for information of the birds of animals of this national park, there is toilet and parking facilities, but parking is chargeable 50 Rs. This place is in front of sariska palace decorated for photography, neelgai, sambar deer and spotted dear was found to moving freely in this area. Be careful for monkeys,

Bhangarh Fort

Mentioned on
3 lists
Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Bhangarh Fort is a historic complex with the remains of Hindu temples, royal palaces, and tombs. Located about 90 km from Jaipur, it is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and the state government. Despite its reputation as one of India's most haunted places, visitors have found it to be a well-constructed and beautifully designed fort. The interior buildings are poorly maintained in some areas, but guides are available to explain the fort's history.
A must visit place while visiting Jaipur. Bhangarh Fort is an absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing place to visit! The fort is surrounded by hills on three sides, offering stunning open views and fresh, clean air all around. The area is very neat and well-maintained. On the way to the fort, there’s an old abandoned market about 300 meters long, the ancient ruins give a glimpse into history. The path is lined with huge old banyan trees whose vines touch the ground and form new roots, which looks magical. Inside and around the fort, there are several ancient temples, monkeys, and even peacocks roaming freely. The views from the fort are breathtaking, especially in the morning or late afternoon. Some inner chambers have a strong smell because of bats hanging from the ceilings, so it’s hard to go inside. Overall, Bhangarh Fort is peaceful, scenic, and full of history. Definitely worth visiting if you love heritage and nature.

Bhangarh Fort is a fascinating historical site with incredible architecture and stories that take you back in time. The fort complex is vast, with ample parking available, and local Hindi-speaking guides at the entrance make the visit more engaging with their tales of history and folklore. The entry ticket for Indian guests is very reasonable at just ₹25. While the fort’s upkeep could be better—with limited maintenance, no clean washrooms, and monkeys freely roaming around—the charm of the ruins and the atmosphere more than make up for it. A must-visit for history and heritage lovers.

★★Description★★ Bhangarh Fort, located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, is widely known as the "Most Haunted Place in India". Constructed in the 17th century by Raja Madho Singh, the fort once stood as a thriving town with palaces, temples, and a bustling marketplace, all showcasing a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. However, its prosperity was short-lived, with its ruins now shrouded in chilling local legends, most famously involving a sorcerer's curse on the beautiful Princess Ratnavati and an ascetic, Guru Balu Nath, whose condition about the fort's shadow was violated. The Archaeological Survey of India has legally prohibited entry into the fort premises after sunset and before sunrise due to its infamous reputation. Despite the eerie atmosphere and desolate nature of the ruins, Bhangarh remains a significant historical site and a major attraction for thrill-seekers and paranormal enthusiasts. ★★★ After visit, I think this wonderful place is one of the best forts in Rajasthan in case of ambiance. ★ No haunted activity is there. All forts of Rajasthan are closed at 6:30 PM (Plus minus 30 minutes for sun light). Inside this fort few number of leopards are found after sunset ( Source local people and Shop owner). Entry fees 25 rupees for Indian.(Cash Payment) Online Payment 20 rupees. A must visit palce in Rajasthan.

Firstly, visit the place before sunset or reach not later than 4 in the evening because the guard will suggest doing it quickly. By the time I reached there, it was closed (5 o'clock in the evening), so I just conversed with the guards; they were very friendly, and there was a Hanuman temple at the entrance. The whole vibe was different. I was very excited to be there, and my sister was feeling low at the same time.

(A must-see for history buffs and thrill-seekers alike) I'd heard the legends for years: Bhangarh, India's most haunted fort, forbidden after sunset. Naturally, my curiosity got the better of me, and I had to see it for myself during a recent trip to Rajasthan. It was an experience I won't soon forget. The Drive and Arrival: The journey itself sets the tone. As we approached the fort, the surrounding landscape became increasingly desolate. We drove past the ruins of what used to be a bustling town—crumbling havelis and empty marketplaces line the road, giving you a real sense of a lost city. It was eerily quiet, save for the occasional monkey scampering across the path. Exploring the Ruins: Once inside, the scale of the place is impressive. It's not a typical hilltop fort; instead, it's nestled in the foothills of the Aravalli range, which gives it a unique, secluded feel. I spent hours wandering through the ancient stone pathways. The architecture is a beautiful blend of Rajput and Mughal styles, with intricately carved temples like the Gopinath and Someshwar Temples still somewhat intact. The main palace is mostly in ruins, but climbing to the top offered a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire complex and the surrounding hills. It's a photographer's paradise during the day. The "Haunted" Vibe: Did I see a ghost? No. Did I feel an unusual chill or hear crying children? Also no. However, there's an undeniable heaviness to the atmosphere, a profound stillness that makes you wonder about the tragic history. The official ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) sign explicitly warning against entry after sunset and before sunrise certainly adds to the mystique, making the ghost stories feel a little more real than they might otherwise. I decided not to hire a guide, but in hindsight, I wish I had; while the ruins are impressive, a local guide's dramatic retelling of the Princess Ratnavati and the cursed tantric stories would have enhanced the experience even more. My Verdict: Bhangarh Fort is absolutely worth a visit. It's not a spooky fright-fest during the day, but a genuinely beautiful and historically fascinating archaeological site. Go for the history, the architecture, and the incredible photo opportunities. Just be sure to time your visit right – I was out of there well before the sun started to dip below the horizon!

What an adventurous trip to Bhangarh Fort! The place is full of mystery and charm. Walking through the old ruins, temples, and palaces feels like stepping back in time. The stories of it being “haunted” add an extra thrill — you actually get goosebumps exploring the silent corners! The backdrop of Aravalli hills makes it even more beautiful, and the view from the fort is just amazing. Perfect spot for history lovers, adventure seekers, and even those who enjoy a little spooky fun. Tip: Go with friends or family, carry snacks and water, and don’t forget your camera — every corner is picture-perfect!

It was good to visit over there and diving into the history of Bhangarh fort. While going to the top there was a small area which was stinging too much due to the presence of bats. Good to go during October - April. Nature beauty is there and pics also come ausmn. If it is raining then do go in rubber slippers because you will confront the water coming from the nearby water falls.

Too much public now a days , so doesn’t looks like that much haunted as we felt previously 😃 over all great mythological story and a must visit place in your itinerary. Do hire a guide here it’s quite reasonable here hardly 100-200 rupee and they are the one who added some flavour to felt the ghosts 🎭 Route is quite ok and easily approachable👍
