The first and the most important t The first and the most important takht was established by Guru Hargobind in 1609: Akal Takht (the Throne of the Timeless God), located just opposite the gate of Harmandir Sahib (The Golden Temple), in Amritsar. While the Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple, represents Sikh spiritual guidance, the Akal Takht symbolizes the dispensing of justice and temporal activity. It is the highest seat of temporal authority of the Khalsa and the seat of the Sikh religion's earthly authority. There, the Guru held his court and decided matters of military strategy and political policy. Later on, the Sikh Nation (Sarbat Khalsa) took decisions here on matters of peace and war and settled disputes between the various Sikh groups. Jarnailsinh Bhindranwale occupied it in 1984. To make Akaltakht free from Jarnailsinh Bhindranwale and his followers, Indian Army attacked on them. This was damaged and rebuilt.

Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar is a place which I always wanted to visit. More than a tourist destination; it's a very historical place historical which has left a lasting impression on every Indian. Having heard so much of the incident on 1919 when the British indiscriminately fired on and killed and wounded many Indians, visiting Jallianwala Bagh was a deeply moving and emotional experience for us. The moment you walk in, as you have heard a lot of on the event, you can feel the weight of history all around you. They have preserved bullet marks on the walls and the well with a tragic story behind it serve as powerful reminders of the sacrifices made during India's freedom struggle. Government has done some renovation also. A good step. The place brings in a strong sense of patriotism and gratitude. It is located at a walking distance near the revered Golden Temple, and a must see of any trip to Amritsar, offering a stark reminder of India's struggle for independence. A must visit historical monument for all Indians. There are a lot of informative displays and a garden area for reflection. The place was very crowded as we went on a weekend.

Best place for children to visit. There is laser show , space theatre, 3D show, earthquake simulator, climate change theatre , and Dino park also . you can get food here . Remains open from 9am -6pm and last ticket can be obtained till 5pm. Thank you !!

A must-visit place that beautifully showcases the rich history and spiritual legacy of Sikhism. The architecture is simply breathtaking — a perfect blend of modern design and cultural depth. The galleries inside take you on an immersive journey through the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and important events in Sikh history. Entry is free, and phones are allowed, but photography inside the museum is strictly not allowed — which honestly helps you stay present and absorb the experience better. The museum is well-maintained, peaceful, and has a calming vibe throughout. One downside — the cafeteria inside is currently closed, so plan your food/snack breaks accordingly. Also, it’s a bit of a walk from the main gate to the entrance, so wear comfy shoes and maybe carry water, especially during sunny days. Overall, a beautifully curated experience and a great place to learn, reflect, and feel proud of Punjab’s heritage.

After standing in a long queue for almost 6 hours, we managed to get darshan of Mata Chintpurni Ji. This temple is a major pilgrimage destination and one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India. Devotees from all across the country visit here to pray for their long-cherished wishes and desires to come true. I have seen many married couples coming here with their newborns, with the purpose to offer prayers after wish fulfilment. The temple's main gate is made of gold and once you enter you can get a clear darshan of the idol. Pandits are available to help you with the pooja. There is a tree where you can tie the sacred thread, while uttering your wish or desire in your heart that you want to get fulfilled. Someone has even tied a twin-baby doll on the tree, maybe after getting blessed with twins. I feel grateful and privileged for getting the opportunity to visit such a powerful spiritual place. Shoes need to be kept in one of the many pooja-item shops. Crowd management is really commendable. Highly recommended to visit.😇🙏🏻🛕

When on my bike (a Honda cb350) to the Bhakra Dam from Dharamshala. It took me 3 hours to reach. The Dam felt under overwhelming. But the road is breathtaking and I enjoyed every second of it. Note there are check posts 500 meters before and after the dam where you have to show your ID. Photographer is prohibited within those 500 meters.

Getting There: Take the Ropeway! I highly recommend taking the Jakhu Ropeway. The steep hike (about 45 minutes) is there for the adventurous, but for comfort and the sheer aerial view, the cable car wins. For a few hundred rupees, you get a short, smooth, and scenic ride that lifts you right over the pine trees. Visited Rawalsar Lake, and it was a truly peaceful and refreshing experience! The lake, surrounded by lush greenery, offers a calm and scenic atmosphere. We also visited Gurdwara Sahib and nearby religious sites, which added to the spiritual charm of the place. The serene environment, with its mix of nature and spirituality, made for a perfect getaway. A must-visit for those seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and positive vibes!

Spectacular view from the top! The snow was fresh and clean, it felt so good to be here. The trek to the top (of the viewpoint) is not extremely difficult and quite attainable — even if you have aged folks in your group. You can seek help from the guides outside the main gate if you want any support material like walking sticks or gumboots/snow boots. These are available on rent.

It truly is. A little gem high up on the mountain with clear water crisp air gorgeous trees amazing birds and a stunning view to be blown away.. it’s easier to take a car and go, do climb up.. wear comfortable walking shoes as the view up is lovely.. don’t forget to buy some shawls from the ladies stalls near the waterfall and definitely eat at the himachali dhaba down it’s manned by a Bengali family but the cuisine is himachali that’s our national integration at its best.. take the Thai as they serve a lot I’d things in it and it’s quite economical..

Gurudwara Sahib Manikaran is located in the Parvati valley along the Parvati river, few kiolmetres from Kasol on the way to Barshaini. It is very well known for the natural hot water springs, believed to be the creation of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. You can feel the warmth of spring in whole gurudwara. Must have langar prasad after praying at darbar sahib. Photography is not allowed inside. You can also ask to stay overnight in gurudwara and offer your services at langar etc. Water is very very hot so please make sure to mix cold water if you wanna take bath. I was trekking solo and must say it is a beautiful trek. Best thing was i literally crossed paths with barely half a dozen of people on a trek . It was so quiet and calm. Thankful that a travelled alone and that only made me feel and sense the nature too deep all the way.

Day time you find food shops there,but after the sunset this place becomes lonely,no people found due to cold. We reached their by rented car. One of the highest passes we crossed on our way to ladakh. It was worth seeing the serene views after a fun yet adventure packed roadtrip . Just beware of your o2 levels 😉 due to high altitude.

The road from town to the monastery is very beautiful, the valley and mountains are very vast and majestic. Cross a stream, often frozen in winter, to reach the monastery. The monastery is located on a hilltop with typical Tibetan architecture. There is no entrance fee to the monastery.

Widely believed to be the second-highest motorable road in the world, Chang La mountain pass is perched at a height of 17,688 ft above sea level. This pass is the main route to the pristine Pangong Lake, which is a scenic tourist stopover. At this height there is a Tea & snakes shop where we can give stop enjoy the Tea & Pakora snakes. Oxygen level is very low here. Even in June there was snow on upper Region. Very beautiful and nice place in leh and second heightest motor-able road.
