Château de Cheverny is a grand 17th-century country mansion located in the charming village of Cheverny, amidst the renowned châteaux of the Loire Valley. This captivating chateau is famous for its unique Renaissance style architecture, blending classic Renaissance and French medieval elements with influences from Italian design, courtesy of Leonardo Da Vinci. The ornate interiors and landscaped gardens, including stunning tulip gardens, make it a must-visit destination.
Chateau de Cheverny is a gorgeous chateau in the Loire Valley that has been in the same family for 600 years. The interior of the chateau was lovely & interesting. The beautiful gardens were whimsical with many fun exhibits for children & adults. We had delicious chocolate cake & cappuccinos on the terrace of the cafe. There was free parking at the chateau & when we visited the end April it was not overly crowded. This was one of our favorite chateaus.
Marion H — Google review
Legendary & Iconic Castle Cheverny is one of my favorite castles as it is first beautiful but is also as this unique access to boat rides which make it really nice for families. The castle itself is just magical. This is a definite recommendation from us, we really enjoyed it!
Paul V — Google review
Beautiful castle with very nice and large gardens. Our children enjoyed seeing lego exhibitions in the castle as well as treasure hunt and a maze. Even though we visited on a Sunday in August, there were no big crowds and the whole experience was very pleasant.
Michal L — Google review
Beautiful castle still privately owned and lived in. Bests part is that it still holds original furnishings to admire throughout. Many gardens to walk through and you can also visit the hunting dog kennels and watch them get fed. Gift shop available for souvenirs.
Alan Y — Google review
Hands-down, my favorite chateau in the Val de Loire. Why? Most comfortable, most welcoming, most like somewhere I could see children growing up. What else? The family that owns and still lives on the property is kind, generous and friendly.
Aubrey B — Google review
Château de Cheverny is elegant and beautifully preserved, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is richly decorated and feels very much alive, as the castle has been continuously inhabited by the same family for centuries. The gardens are also lovely, and the visit gives a true sense of refined French heritage.
Mirela P — Google review
Wonderful both the interior and the gardens. We were not lucky enough to see how the dogs were fed. The visit was on a Saturday and visiting the interior of the castle was difficult, many visitors. The ticket costs 15€/ person 10.05.2025

The castle is not very big, but it is worth visiting. And the surrounding park is huge, clean and has a lot of flowers and special landscapes. It's a shame that we didn't catch the impressive tulip cordon in May. However, I would suggest to those who take care of the castle that during visits they leave some windows open. When we visited it, it was very crowded inside and very hot. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

Felt surreal seeing this place. The most beautiful castle I have ever visited. Inside is pretty empty, you are there for the architecture and the garden.
Dee R — Google review
Mixed feeling….from one side castle is too crowded (with a lot of people playing with tablet used as travel guides)….but from the other side castle is huge and magnificent….I suggest (if possible) to visit it during not risk hours…
Manucsn — Google review
Beautiful castle - like from fairy tales. Very interesting show with horses - some history of the castle and France presented in a playful way. Lots of gift shops. Shops with local alcohol and charcuterie. Highly recommended to visit!
SIMPLY D — Google review
Gorgeous, breathtaking castle. It's absolutely massive. The sheer size of the castle is impressive and so is the history. Really inform yourself about it before you visit to appreciate it more. There is a room to the left as you enter the castle thah shows informative movies about it's history and architecture. I am giving it 4 stars because even with the map it was a bit of a challenge of having a cohesive visit. We kept checking the map to make sure we didn't miss anything. I would try finding creative ways of guiding visitors better in a better flow with some creative/visible signages. The inside of the castle isn't as impressive as other castles. The outside is alot nicer.
Elana P — Google review
Castle of Chambord is magnificent. The view from outside is astonishing. The inside is a bit empty but the architecture is really interesting from the outside and inside mainly on stairs. You can see the Kings' room and collections that are there. Gardens is beautiful and symetrics as french garden's specialty.
Anne-Cécile — Google review
Highly recommence to spend a day in here 😍 and many steps 😂. A stunning Château with history. Take some small tour if possible, that you can go up to the latern tower which is the highest point to have great overview. Or there is a tour to explain about the history and architecture as well - by that you could enter a secret place of the Chateau.
Quỳnh N — Google review
I went on this short trip with La Voyagerie Parisienne. They are very nice, the trip was well organised. The castle is very beautiful, the garden is very big but we didn’t have enough time to go there. I will come back in future for sure

A stunning place to go, found the WWII room very interesting. Not to much inside to look at, however the chateau on the outside is beautiful. Would recommend 3 hours to look at everything and there a lot of steep steps!

Awesome chocolate, we had a nice tour around the whole place by the very knowledgeable Justine and you could see the different stages of getting the chocolate from the plant to the final product. Very much fun, they have an amazing display with a car made of chocolate and other amazing figures also made of chocolate. Very impressive. You can see at the gift shop the workers making chocolate too.
Kelso4001 — Google review
We were staying in the campsite next to the chocolate factory so we decided to do the tour. We were surprised by how good and how interesting it was. We had a friendly welcome followed by a family tour in English and were able to taste lots of different types of chocolate! The shop sells beautifully presented and delicious chocolate.
Nicky H — Google review
We passed by this chocolate factory on the way to castle Chambord, we bought some chocolate bonbons and nuts chocolate, we never knew this brand, but it tastes surprisingly good! I recommend you to go there have a look if you are on the way to the castle Chambord

A brilliant artisan chocolate maker with a really informative tour. Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed... The tour guide did a top job and the chocolate sculptures - like the ones in the photos - are amazing.
Rob S — Google review
Interesting place with nice guided tour in English. Not much free chocolate at the end and the shop was expensive but worth a visit. Nice little coffee shop outside. Tour was 4.50 for adults.

Château de Meung-sur-Loire is a beautifully restored bishop's palace featuring 12th-century towers, period-furnished rooms, and intriguing underground tunnels. The castle offers a romantic setting with a picturesque garden and an informative tour that provides visitors with detailed explanations. It is described as an ideal destination for families, offering diverse attractions such as the animated dragon trail, adventure playgrounds, and engaging kids' challenges within the castle.
This castle was very special. I appreciated the actors walking around in the main house, they were really funny. The outdoor space was cool, too! The dragons were fun to look at and the stories were interesting. We also had a lot of fun on the big trampoline as well!
Kari M — Google review
Dissapointing exhibits... more a rough collection of cheap antiques than a coherent collection connected to the location. Castle itself is in bad shape... restoration more rhan due. No entrance fee worthy in comparison to the many other castles in the region.
Dirk V — Google review
We stopped here on a road trip between tours and Paris and it was wonderful! Beautiful and really transports you to a different time as you walk from room to room. My toddler loved the games and the dragon forest too. There is a nice cafe, boulangerie, playground, and car park nearby. Honestly, such a perfect day trip for someone with little kids, and for older ones, they had an aerial trampoline. Hope we get a chance to visit again.
Ruby F — Google review
Really enjoyed this castle. Not too crowded and full of character. Our French is pretty basic so we were given a guide folder in English to take round with us - definitely worth doing as the explanations of castle life through the ages (on a room by room basis) really gave life to the visit. The rooms are well furnished, and you can also visit the attic and the basement. We attended the 30 min Musketeer Show, but with hindsight probably wouldn't have bothered as it wasn't really what we'd expected (it was really a comedy show between two musketeers, aimed at kids and pretty incomprehensible for those with poor French). There is also a small area of animatronic dragons in the gardens - again, probably more suitable for those with small kids. Overall a really enjoyable visit and seemingly a bit off the main coach tour route, as it was mercifully quiet.
Tom W — Google review
Nice castle. One of the local resident recommended to visit this place and I’m happy that we did. The castle is 800 years old, you can see how people’s use to live, what they use to wear. The most exciting part for me was the attic that was huge and also the tunnels under the castle. I don’t remember being able see tunnels under any other castles before, you could see the great job they done that it still in perfect condition. I’m sure that if you visit this castle you wont regret it.
Burcso E — Google review
Nice atmosphere, hepfull personal and a beautiful castle. Really gives you the feeling of going back in time, and provides enough information (but not to much). Would definitely recommend! (Enjoyed it more than Chambord)
JW B — Google review
An interesting royal chateau to see after the Louvre and Versailles. There's quite a contrast, this one on a much smaller scale but well furnished with plenty of curious artefacts. There are explanations in multiple languages available. It is privately owned and needs a bit of tlc which hopefully the new owners can lavish on it without spoiling its authenticity.
Julie G — Google review
Nice place to visit with children between 4 and 12. You can do a short castle visits and afterwards go to see some dragon statues and finally some fantastic trampolines that are suspended in the air around 4 metres above the ground. A lot of fun and very spectacular. Nice place to be for 2 - 4 hours

Château de Valençay is a Renaissance estate featuring a grand château adorned with Empire, Louis XVI, and Regency furnishings, as well as an opulent mini-theatre. Despite being slightly secluded from the renowned Loire Valley palaces, it stands out as one of the most impressive. The castle boasts meticulously maintained French-style gardens near the main structures and a more traditional English-style park further away.
Beautiful well furnished and preserved castle, it was great visiting over the holidays, every room had an xmas tree. There was also a Harry Potter Lego expo on which turned out to be more interesting than expected.
Megue R — Google review
A great Chateau steeped in history. I enjoyed the self guided tour which was full of information. A pity that the cafe was very lacking and awful machine prepared voffee instead of nice cafe au last
Andrew T — Google review
There weren't any crowds. The gardens don't give a good impression as they look unkempt. The house itself on the inside needs renovation but obviously it's an expensive thing. The roof appears to be new and that is an very expensive thing to do. However I won't be grudge them the entrance high entrance fee as I hope the money goes to restoration work.
Motorhome Q — Google review
The highlight of our visit to Château de Valençay was the tour of the equestrian stables. We learned about the rich history of the estate’s horses, watched an impressive training session, and witnessed the remarkable bond between the horses and their trainer. We even had the chance to feed one of the horses—a truly memorable experience! The château itself is beautifully designed, with elegant architecture and stunning gardens that make the visit well worth it. There are numerous rooms to explore, each offering a glimpse into the grandeur and history of this remarkable place.
Q P — Google review
Interesting. Needs work. A little run down. Looking forward to the gardens. In August they're pretty much dead. All brown and dried out. The worker in the Château said tjey do not water them.
Kenneth P — Google review
Nice old chateau with interesting history. Audio guide & information in several languages. Ornamental gardens and small animal farm. Picnic area but no cafe available, so bring your own food.
Catherine J — Google review
Lovely place to visit. There are a lot of things to see there. You can still see how a lot of the things were used before. Like the cave where they used to store ice to keep things cool in the summer. On the inside, there was lots of the original furniture. But you could also see clear signs of long-term lack of maintaince. But over a place, you must visit. The staff was friendly and spoke English. And there was an audio tour available in several languages.
Jesse S — Google review
The building is stunning, the gardens not so. Looking very tired and unkempt they could do with a lot of work, just to tidy them up. The house inside also looking a bit shabby and probably needs millions of euros spending on it. Nice to wander round and imagine how it must have once looked. All in all a disappointing visit.

Even though it was a 100km drive to Romarantin to visit the museum it was worth it. If, like me, you are a petrol head, then it is a must visit. This was my sixth or seventh visit and I will go again in years to come.

Château de la Ferté Saint-Aubin, situated 18 kilometers south of Orleans, offers a delightful family-friendly experience with various activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy baking demonstrations, scavenger hunts, vintage games, and the popular Poison Game in the garden. The chateau itself is a beautifully restored country house that provides a glimpse into 19th-century living.
Fantastic chateau day trip, visited with kids 3 & 6 years old - escape room & treasure trail in the castle was fab, kept them entertained the whole way round. Loved the toy museum & before / after photos of the renovation. Kitchen was fully set up with the historical equipment, several secret passages & hidden doors - we spent about 3 hours here - would 100% reccomend & vist again! Staff also speak excellent english
Lia C — Google review
We visited the castle on Sunday, late June and it was almost empty. Only few other tourists. We do not speak French and it was a little leaflet provided in English (and few other languages) that you scan via your phone. We went there because of the Escape Game they advertise on their website. There is no info anywhere that the game was only in French and we learned about it when we entered the castle. Even though, we tried to play using our mediocre knowledge of French and translator but escape room riddles were mostly destroyed, with missing elements that make the solving of the room impossible. Everyone walked in and out with no one from the castle to bring back the settings to the start level in the rooms. What sounded like a fun experience for a family turned out to be dusty, very worn out place, totally not worth the money. Visit for the chateau only doesn’t seem justified for this price. There are other, better preserved castles to visit in the area. We were very disappointed.
Anna K — Google review
A beautiful and interesting visit, also great for children with activities in the park. No fuss about security. You can bring your picnic. The escape rooms and the live goose game in the park are great to keep your children busy.
Robert K — Google review
We stayed at the two gites (Garenne and Ermitage) for two nights for a wedding. Garenne has a narrow spiral staircase which is challenging to navigate with luggage. The rooms are simple - there wasn't a dresser for our clothing. The family and kitchen space is large. There are ample showers but only two toilets per floor which can be challenging when all rooms are full. Ermitage had a smell of wood smoke. There was no way to lock up individual rooms yet chateau visitors would be wandering around the grounds so we locked our valuables in the car. There was no wifi in either gite or the Orangerie. There are no screens on the windows so if you leave a light on, the room will fill with bugs at night. There is a good bakery across the street. The town is a short walk away. Overall, a very simple experience.

Lovely day out. Really enjoyed our little visit to this Chateau. They had some egg hunt activities on the day we went , perfect for kids. They also had a lady making madelaine in the downstairs kitchen , we had to buy some ! A descent amount of things to see in the castle , and lovely to walk on the ground if the weather is nice.

Interesting place, authentic and lots to see , with added interest of the escape room clues!

House of George Sand

Museum
Nature & Parks
Manor house with surrounding buildings & gardens, home to a revolutionary 19th-century author.
I went here in 2022, but never left a review on it. However, here it is now as I've remembered. 5 stars because of the beautiful scenery, history, and overall peaceful vibe of the place. There are just a few things to keep in mind if you are a foreigner. (Well, much like me.) FOR THOSE PLANNING TO GO: 1. They don't really speak English 2. Getting here is a bit difficult, as the language barrier kinda gets worse and worse, but it's definitely doable. 3. If you join a tour guide around the house, she (at least in our case) will not speak English. 4. You CAN get your own copy of George Sand's published works! (SIDENOTE: To get to Nohant in the first place, you will be dropped off in the middle of a field, with a small sign. Nohant does NOT have a big entrance to the town) OVERALL: Should you go? If you are a fan of Chopin and George Sand's lives together, yes. However, it is also best that you look up Sand's children, Solange And Maurice. Just knowing their backgrounds will be useful, and will make your expereince better. If you aren't a fan of Chopin and Sand, you might find it boring. (The blue room in the pictures below is Sand's room, where she died.)

Fantastic visit where we've been under the spell upon arriving in this well-preserved village, with its small Sainte-Anne church and its red-tiled roof and then, just a stone's throw away, the large gates of the property ... At the end of the courtyard behind the round flowerbed and its large tree, the house: we visit successively on the ground floor, the dining room where the table is always set and where Chopin, Liszt, Balzac, Flaubert, Mérimée, Delacroix, Alexandre Dumas fils sat... By the staircase and the corridors decorated by Maurice Sand, we go upstairs: the cabinet of curiosities, Chopin's room that George had transformed into storage after their break-up, the blue room with walls and hangings with Louis XVI medallions, where George Sand lived her last moments. Finally, Maurice's small theater where people enjoyed playing and singing on winter evenings. A true treasure trove for all fans of the author and of Frédéric Chopin, who composed a large part of his work here. Don't forget to pay your respects at the author's grave...

Stunning location stunning house. Downside is you get a tour of the house in French which is absolutely epic... hard if you don't speak Frenchand you be then be standing around for an hour and a half. I don't understand why they not let you just walk around or at least have an English guided tour. The marionette exhibition upstairs bookshop is free. Closed between 12 and 2 restaurant opposite little church has an amazing tart tartin but is very expensive. If you go on a Thursday the little cafe in the house grounds has a nice affordable menu.

We enjoyed a pleasant walk around the grounds whilst waiting for the house to open. There was not much information on how the tour would be conducted and we were not made aware that the entire tour would be accompanied by a French native who did not speak English. You were not able to walk around the house unattended and the narrative given by the guide in each room, was extensive, which would have been really interesting if our understanding of French was more extensive. We did escape along with quite a few other non French speaking visitors, when the tour went upstairs, so sadly we didn’t get to see the top floor of the property. We felt that if there was an option for either an electronic audio guide or an app that linked to an audio guide for that particular property, it would have enabled us to enjoy the details of all aspects of the property and it’s various historical inhabitants.

I was fortunate to be taken here by my local guide and enlightened regarding the life and legacy of George Sand. I visited this beautiful site and grounds in 2024 and thoroughly recommend it. The tours are in French, and as my abilities in French are elementary at best, there is an English brochure they will lend you to carry along on the tour that gives the background of each room on the tour. Truly a fascinating monument worth a visit if you find yourself in Central France. Merci!

Nice in depth tour but only in french. Very nice tiny village with an old church so there are more things to see than just the house. Very good souvenir shop with lots of books on Sand, Chopin ,Liszt.

Beautiful tour, but there should be some assistance in terms of written guide in English or other languages so that someone who doesn't understand french can follow and enjoy the tour as much as anyone else.

We had an amazing day here. We only planned an hour and spent all afternoon here. Lots of interesting facts and amazing information Special thanks to Charbel for his tour around the radiotelescopes. We thought he was brilliant. Do everything it was a real treat. Thankyou.
Lucy G — Google review
I am giving this 4* when I would so much like to give it 5*. We are from the UK and have been to Jodrell Bank and the Planetarium. As we were staying nearby this was an obvious choice for us as we are interested in the sky/stars and technology. It is the 4th largest radio telescope in the world. We looked round the exhibition which had alot of things to view. Our issue is we speak very little French and assumed that there would be some information in English. We are wrong to assume this and should, I know, make more of an effort to learn more French as we holiday here a few months each year. Also in the Planetarium experience only half of the show did we have an ear set which was in English. A young and obviously knowledgeable gentleman then continued with the remainder of the tour. Again in French so we only picked up snippets. So, in summary, if you are English you need to be fully conversant in French to get the best out of this visit. We will be taking French lessons when we get home! If we are ever nearby we will definitely return to gain the best experience.
Carolyn D — Google review
Small planetarium with science exhibition. And a COLOSSAL radio telescope within view that you can watch on a guided tour!. It's worth a visit for sure if you like science (but why else would you end up on this page? )
Funke E — Google review
Not a review, just a question…when driving through Nancay the mobile phone signal was completely dead…is that something to do with the radio telescope?
Adrian W — Google review
Well after reading some of the reviews on here we were unsure whether to go into the visitor centre or not, we did and I’m so glad that we did, the couple at reception were very friendly and both spoke some english, they even arranged for us to have an English guide in the planetarium, The planetarium itself was in two parts, the first with the guide giving us a little explanation in english, for the second part we were provided with audio headsets with English narration. All in all a very well worth experience and good value. Take note, no mobile phones or other wifi devices are allowed, we left ours in the car, there is no 3g4g signal anyway.
Tony E — Google review
Wonderful experience - we had phoned before our visit and an English speaking member of staff was there to meet us. He gave us the Planetarium talk and a tour of the telescope site. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions very clearly. Would definitely recommend for anyone with an interest in astronomy.
Marcus Y — Google review
There is no English nowhere, I understand many things due to the fact that i love astronomy, but you should make english descriptions to all there.

Palais Jacques Coeur

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Palais Jacques Coeur is a stunning 15th-century Gothic palace commissioned by the wealthy merchant and treasurer to King Charles VII, Jacques Coeur. This lavish residence predates the Renaissance chateaux of the Loire Valley but rivals them in elegance and opulence. The palace features intricate carvings, a galleried courtyard, spiral staircases, steamrooms, private apartments, servants' areas, and a treasure room.
Definitely worth a visit, really well conserved and interesting. I've enjoyed It a lot!
Alessandra P — Google review
This is quiet unique and huge. It was a private home. But the owner was even richer than the king. And exact that's it how it looks - posh. But the selfguided tour, I recommand the audioguide for 3€, is it worth. The rooms are mostly clean, but some are really nice painted or have wooden ceilings. You have to climb a bit stairs, but take your time. I spend 2 hours, but 1 hour is absolutely makeable to see all rooms. If you want deeper info to some points the guide has a green button, I didn't used it, but its surly your chouce🙂.
R. A — Google review
Although I don't know much about architectural styles, I know about this palace that it fascinated me. The beauty of the facade of the inner courtyard simply takes your breath away. I went to visit it on a Thursday morning, I don't like it when it's crowded, I love to admire these beauties in peace. The price was €8. Although there is not much furniture in the palace rooms, it makes up for it with architectural details that are amazing. I couldn't wait to open the next door and be amazed by the beauty that surrounds me.
Sasha — Google review
Exquisite palace, big and lavish. Unfortunately only sad thing is that you can see architecture and building materials but all the rooms are very empty, some places have a few furniture items, some only pictures of objects, so the space seems too unoccupied, other than that it is a marvel!
Tormi V — Google review
The rooms aren't decorated with furniture and art. However, for us, we felt it would have distracted us from the real gems of the palace. Which is the architecture and carvings. You need to look closely to spot some of the carvings.
Motorhome Q — Google review
A beautiful monument to visit and discover through a one hour guided tour. The Palace is huge and only a part of this rich house can be visited. Sculptures, wooden cellars, impressive xvii century murals, ancient floors... The particularity of this place is that it results in a mix of a lot of architecture styles. It's a rare example of civilian 'gothique flamboyant' in France. Really worth to enter, even if the streetside wall is already very well decorated and remarkable for its original stone sculptures.
Marine P — Google review
I learned a lot about an important man in French history that I had not previously heard anything about.

Sights & Landmarks
Bourges Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Stephen, is a UNESCO World Heritage site constructed between the 12th and 13th centuries. This Gothic masterpiece boasts stunning stained glass windows, painted chapels, and a large crypt containing the tomb of Jean de Berry. The cathedral's rapid completion in just 35 years was intended to showcase French royal power. Visitors can climb La Tour de Bourges for panoramic views of the city.
Absolutely awesome cathedral that you should not miss if you ever come to Bourges. Also, the surrounding old town is worth a visit. If you are disabled, be aware that the streets are steep with a lot of cobblestones.

Out of all the cathedrals that we have seen so far in our trip, this was one of my favorite ones! It's breathtaking and unique. The way the columns are made gives you the impression it's drawn with a pencil. It was absolutely worth the detour!

The Bourges Cathedral is a masterpiece of Gothic art and harmony. Its towering arches, intricate stained glass, and serene atmosphere inspire pure wonder. Every detail feels alive with history and faith. The view from the towers over the old town is magical. A visit here leaves you deeply moved and full of admiration.

Beautiful Cathedral This is a great holy place to visit. Fantastic & Iconic building in the heart of Bourges. As usual in France this Cathedral is very old. Around 800 years. It is well worth your time to visit and admire the amazing architecture both inside and outside.
Paul V — Google review
There is a good history of the cathedrale at the entrance. This one isnt shaped like a cross but has a real 2nd and 3rd story balcony that can be visited on weekends in the summer. You can also visite the crypt and underground chapel all year round with a guide. Ask at the entrance booth.
Sophie T — Google review
The architecture is absolutely impressive, it is among the most beautiful cathedrals visited, gorgeous on the inside but the outside does not disappoint either.

Bourges cathedral is a must visit. We went in the morning between 8 & 9 when the light from the east perfectly lights the cathedral from the gardens. It is also very quiet and peaceful. It is extremely grand with many arches.

Maybe this is the most beautiful cathedral I’ve visited since now. The interior of the cathedral is imposing and spectacular, with wonderful stained-glass windows. The crypt is well worth a visit; it must be booked in advance and is usually combined with a visit to the Jacques Coeur Palace.

(Translated by Google) I have been coming to admire the Nuits Lumière route in Bourges for several years, and I am always amazed by the beauty of the illuminated city center. However, this year, I was a little disappointed: the Cathedral was almost not lit and several street lamps, usually blue, were lit in classic light, which takes away some of the magic. Some hidden places, previously open with projections, were closed, and the mapping scenes presented are the same as two years ago. Coming from another region, I would have liked more new features, even if the whole remains magnificent.

(Translated by Google) Very very disappointing. I have memories of the Blue Nights from a few years ago as being much more interesting and a real spectacle. This one is basic, the sound is inaudible, the animated monuments are not "wow" except for the wall in the Archbishop's Park and the JC Palace. And which lights should I follow?? The ones on the ground or the street lamps??? In short, I won't be back.

(Translated by Google) Today, Thursday June 27, I went to the square behind the Bourges town hall - Place Étienne-Dolet to see the nighttime video projection - the nights of light. It turned out that the video that started at 10:45 p.m. was only less than 10 minutes long. Additionally, the bright light from the projection lamp for the projection cathedral was extremely affected viewing. Overall, the editing of the content was also quite messy, not specifically linked to the theme or the "bear" image (The animal is also a particular symbol for Bourges since it is the emblem of the Duke of Berry) on the advertisement. The visual content fails to tell the historical story of Bourges and the symbolism of the bear. The projector lights in the square were too bright and could not display the video clearly. I am very disappointed with this show program.

This is a beautiful medieval Cistercian Abbey, who's life as a religious centre was ended by the French revolution. It has been lovingly restored and is still peaceful and atmospheric. It has an excellent café managed by a delightful lady and the reception staff were friendly a welcoming. We cycled to the Abbaye and found dedicated cycle parking - cyclists welcome! Well worth a visit and recommended.

We went for “flâneries lumineuses”. Great experience to visit this beautiful abbey in night time. The lights made the place amazing. You have possibility to have picnic outside in the garden. The place is well maintained. My son also enjoyed the visit. Ticket for adult is 5 euros and free for kids. If you are in the region you should visit this abbey. Visitors can enjoy a well-designed setting with sumptuous and excellently preserved instruments on display.

Great welcome from the friendly staff, really interesting museum over 3 floors. Lots to read with excellent translation into English. Also you'll have headphones to listen to hundreds of pieces of music, from pop to hurdy gurdy, bagpipes guitar etc..The museum is well set out with toilets, cloakroom and drink machine on the ground floor. There are hundreds of old photos, beautiful instruments and interactive things to do. You'll need at least two and a half hours, but often there is a temporary exhibition too, in which case I would allow three to four hours. There is wheelchair access and a lift too. Definitely worth a visit.

Pretty good museum but the english text don't correspond to the French text... The toilet aren't really big and the light in there were going crazy. there wasn't enough private space to kiss. We still found a spot behind the black vibrating cage to kiss where nobody could see us. Anyway, we had fun and the museum was funny, interesting but really quick if you don't read the text.

(Translated by Google) We were entitled to 1.5 hours of access to the Les Nériades Spa thanks to our hotel's offer. We had a wonderful time in the various pools, including a whirlpool, various jets, a current simulator, and more. There are plenty of ways to relax. The real highlight is the small outdoor area, which is very pleasant when the weather is nice. The contrast between the warm water and the cooler air outside is truly amazing. One small drawback: we would have preferred slightly warmer water. It was fine, but it still lacked a bit of warmth. The reception was impeccable. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had forgotten our towels, and she kindly lent us some. The changing rooms are clean, even if there are few of them. For us, this is a must-do activity in Néris-les-Bains! Perfectly presented, the stage exhibit is also very well organized and detailed. They rotate the exhibits as their collection is very large. So it’s worth going back for more! I know I will be. We took a good 2 or 3 hours to visit, but I was just fascinated by all there was to see!

Maison Mantin is a 19th-century private house that has been open to the public since 2005. It is part of a cultural tourism supply that includes unique collections, exhibitions, and historical places. The guided tour offers exceptional knowledge of the house, its background, and Bourbon history. Visitors can enjoy the well-restored beautiful house and its nice collection during their visit.
The house can only be visited by a guided tour. The guided tour is one of the best guided tours I ever had. The man who leads it is passionate by this and has knowledge about the house until the smallest detail. Definitely worth a visit

A must-visit in Moulins. Guided tour only which must be booked by phoning the Musée Anne de Beaujeu. The guide is very professional and informative. The house is sumptuously furnished and full of surprises and quirks. I have not enjoyed a guided tour so much for a long time!

Totally brillant place. Excellent and knowledgeable guide who made the visit a total pleasure for the visitor who is keen on history. Full of awesome details that tell the visitor, as Mantin wished, how a (erudite) bourgeois of the late 1800s lived. Must see.

We took a quick stroll through the exhibition, and the guided tour. The tour itself is only in French. Our guide really nailed it. He was so sympathetic and enthusiastic and it was fun and interesting to watch him. On top of that his English was very good and he translated the main facts for us, which made the tour through this amazing house even better.

This is a very cool museum experience, bringing you into a perfectly restored late 19th C bourgeois house. Everything is original, a snapshot in time, as the owner dictated in his will over a century ago. Fascinating place, nice, knowledgeable guide who speaks English. Highly worth a trip to the delightful town of Moulin!

Pretty nice experience overall. Food was good not great for our taste and probably a bit more expensive than we'd otherwise expect for lunch but service and location were great!

Middle of the road. Not good, not bad. Although for the price, we expected more. Brasseries in the old city are a far better proposition. Being next to the river is nice, but the associated flies not so much.

From the time we sat down, they made it quite clear to us that we were not welcome. After 3 rude looks and comments of annoyance from staff who seemed irritated that they had an extra table to serve, and no sign of any menus or drinks offers, we up and left. Definitely won’t be supporting this kind of attitude or behaviour.

Source de l'Hôpital

Source de l'Hôpital is located in Parc des Celestins, housed in a beautiful white building that offers a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the shade and restorative waters. The water from this source is less mineralized compared to others, making it more refreshing. The Rotonde, built in 1946 by architect Louis Aublet, surrounds the spring with a temperature of 34 degrees.

Marie-astrid S — Google review
Unfortunately closed during my visit and relocated to the Pavillon des Sources for renovations, inquire at the Tourist Office to find out more ... Its impetuous gushing having earned it first being called "Gros Boulet", it took its name of Source de l'Hôpital in 1753, following the establishment of the old Vichy hospital nearby. Work carried out on its natural emergence site revealed an ancient catchment. The spring which emerges at a temperature of 34°C. has undergone many transformations. Its successive developments have been superimposed from the ancient well. When it is caught in concretions (at the end of the Middle Ages or at the beginning of the modern period), a new catchment is made of Gannat stones topped with a base forming a square basin covered with an iron grid. After being reinforced, it was enlarged in 1818 and topped with a circular Volvic stone pool surrounded by a promenade. A pavilion supported by twelve columns was erected above the spring in 1842. It primarily supplied the bathing establishment of the neighboring hospital, which was closed down in 1887 and then demolished. With spa visitors flocking during the second half of the 19th century, a new layout was necessary. The initial catchment was reworked in 1870, a pipe carrying water directly to the spa was installed, and the pool was replaced by a cast iron basin from which the water providers drew water. Since the 1942 work, water has been collected directly from the old ancient well and directed through a network of pipes to the basin, which took on its current appearance thirty years later. Long available in pharmacies, rich in carbon dioxide which gives it its characteristic sulfurous odor, recommended in cases of digestive, gastric and intestinal disorders to treat diseases of the liver, colon and pancreas. Declared of public interest by imperial decree on January 23, 1861, the spring is used as a drink distributed by the self-service refreshment stands in the Hall des Sources, as well as in the Callou thermal establishment. In view of the significant resources implemented around its initial capture, it can be assumed that the source of the Hospital has had therapeutic use since Antiquity, whether as a drink or in a bath. Converging evidence seems to confirm this hypothesis of thermalism present in Vichy for several millennia. In the distant past when Vichy was already known for its warm waters under the name of Aquae Calidae … It is the property of the City since 2021, the source of the Hospital is an integral part of the Vichy Thermal Estate.

I called and asked if we can come with a boy 4 years old and someone on the phone told me 'yes' and explained the prices and opening hours, pool temperature, everything. We drove 200 km to reach there and the ladies on the reception didn't allow us to enter because of our 4 years son - there is a special schedule for the little ones and can't enter any time. And we were not on the right time of course because the lady on the phone didn't explain that. So we came for nothing and they didn't want to make any exception for ONE child. Very disappointed. Also this schedule you can't see on their website.

Nice enough thermal springs with a large pool inside and outside. Not very big. If you like lower temperatures it is 30-32C. For me this was very cold and very unpleasant while I was in the water. However after I got out of the water and dried off it felt pretty relaxing. 11€ for one hour 15.50€ for one session. One hour is plenty unless you wanna freeze...

Rude unhelpful staff and arrogant life guards who spent their time messing about rather than doing their job. We were wearing swimming trunks but told these were prohibited as unhygienic, despite this being lake water complete with ducks and even a water rat!!! Ridiculous non-sensical rules and rigorously enforced and the only thing that the lifeguards actually engaged in. Avoid!
Richard S — Google review
The area here is not quite famous for a refreshing dip on hot summer days, but you take what you get. As long as you don’t want to end up like a sardine in the surveilled area next to the parking space, you should not have a problem with wading through the mud when entering the lake. The water is not really cold, but let’s pretend you can refresh a little on warmer days. It is very nice for a walk in the woods on the other, less frequented side. SUP and pedal boat rental is not on the side of the parking space, you either have to swim or walk to the other side, also passing the aerial adventure park - which could also be a nice attraction for kids. You can also find a restaurant and an ice cream parlour. Besides the parking fee the access to the lake is free of charge, though you may find a separate lido having an entrance fee.

Always a pleasure to visit this eco friendly, unassuming and welcoming place. Spent three hours strolling around the wolves enclosures and admiring the beautiful birds of prey. As it was low season, we literally had the park to ourselves. The bird show was not programmed but we still saw them training and flying over the arena from the distance. Thank you for this beautiful park with its friendly staff and for the conservation work done here. I will definitely be back!

Rock of Solutré is a towering limestone rock that offers sweeping views of the surrounding area. The hike to the top takes about 30 minutes and is popular among visitors. The trail provides fantastic views of Fuisse and the Solutre Rock, as well as vineyards along the way. It's a relatively easy walk from the parking area, making it suitable for families with children. Additionally, there is a museum nearby to complement the experience.

Great and easy hiking trail to climb to the top; the scenery along the trail overlooks vineyards and little hamlets and is awesome for picture taking. The view from the top of the rock is breathtaking!

Beautiful view from the top! Nice walk. It took us with 2 kids (8/9 years) about 90 minutes in total, including chilling for 30 minutes at the top.
Jonathan C — Google review
Popular hike it seems, quite a lot of people did the walk to the top which has a very nice view over the area. It took us +-30mins, for 1.7km. You can start at one of the (free) parkings, there should be enough place. We did the descent via Combe Robat til the town of Vergisson. Finally through the vineyards back to the parking. You can follow the yellow marks. This direction is very quiet and more fun. Our daughters of 8 and 11 joined us, and in total we walked 6km.

A wonderful day spent at the ZOO. Lots of exotic animals, some of which you can even walk among - birds. As you can see, part of the park will be expanded and the area will increase. The animals have very nicely decorated habitats with enough space. Inside the garden there is a snack bar and a souvenir shop. Very well stocked. Definitely an unforgettable day with pleasant memories.

I have mixed feelings about zoos, I went because my company organized a visit. First time in my life I've been in the presence of a gorilla, no more than a few meters away. First time I've seen a gorilla eating fruits and.... yogurt? This gorilla was being hand fed by the owner of this zoo, Mr. Pierre, he was feeding her inside her room it was fascinating to see. First time I've seen a lion run firsthand, and very upclose. And last but not least, first time I've heard a group of 10+ chimpanzees quarreling, calling out and "screaming". This zoo gave me a sense of humbleness and some sort of primal fear I've never felt before. It made me realize how majestic and imposing these animals can be, yet how beautiful they are too. I liked the back story too. I hope they are truly living up to their mission. I'm still thinking about what I saw.

Samantha E — Google review
What a great zoo. Never seen so many active animals at a zoo before. The tigers and lions were magnificent and playing with each other rather than just sleeping or pacing. Good close up viewing with all the animals. Also it's obvious that the zoo is expanding their enclosure space so it'll be interesting to see what it looks like the next time we return. Well worth the entrance fee and we will definitely return when we are in this area.
Paul H — Google review
Good zoo close by Lyon. The zoo offers some great species of animals, but I think the price is too high. You can spend a couple of hours here, but the park is small and completed within 2 hours. We missed a bunch of animals, despite taking the time to spend extra time in the park after finishing the route. We missed the coatis, servals, binturongs, dingos and some more. Very poor habitats for some animals and some animals did not seem to have any space, like the ocelots. We did really enjoy seeing the snow leopards and the arctic wolves. The park smells bad in a lot of places and the hygiene in the toilets is just bad. For such a price we expected clean toilets somewhere, but it was very poorly maintained. Parking is free. €18,50 is too much in this case, but it’s not a total waste. Hopefully it is being used for future wellbeing of the animals.
Yurivdb — Google review
Beautiful clean zoo, animals are well looked after, very reasonably priced... Great day out
Joanne S — Google review
Conservation focused zoo with quite a lot of interesting primate exhibits (amongst a lot of other types of animals). Big enough that you can spend a few hours here but also not so big that it has to take up your entire day. The zoo is positioned up a hill so there is some elevation change during your walk through but the park is entirely accessible (wheelchairs of course, but that means also strollers too Mamas… even enough room through entrances and pathways for huge American double strollers). And the layout of the enclosures up the hill allows for really good viewing of the animals in their enclosures.

Hameau Duboeuf, located in Saone et Loire, Bourgogne Franche Comte, offers a traditional regional dining experience at the cafe des deux horloges within the vine and wine park. The museum may have been closed for some visitors, but they still enjoyed exploring the shop's Beaujolais selection and tasting six wines at the bar/restaurant. The old Victorian station housing the restaurant adds a unique charm with its original glass painted ceiling and vintage travel posters.
Lovely place and especially warm care by the lady manager throughout our visit. Interesting, informative, exciting, fun and, of course, a tasty day. Recommend for all with keen interest on the culture of vines and wines. Ate the formule 2 at the cafeteria accompanied by roomfull of locals.

Really fun afternoon! They have put a lot of effort into creating a fun way to learn about wine with an amazing collection of artifacts and great attractions. Really made me appreciate the history of wine in the region and enough going on to keep the kids going until the all important wine tasting! (Which would not happen at a normal vineyard where they would last about 5 mins!)
Michael J — Google review
Not as big as expected but it was great for adults and kids. I loved the bee ride and the outside area for the kids.

An interesting museum dealing with just about every aspect of wine, from bottling to transportation to tasting and everything in-between. It has a few interactive areas to appeal to children, although I'm not sure how many would really appreciate this museum. There is also an included wine tasting with 2 wines. So why did I only give 3 stars? As an English speaker with weak French skills, there were a number of plaques without any English translation. But most importantly, I found the museum rather pricey: €20. There are 4 areas to view: The hamlet, the train station, the gardens and the wine cellar. When I came on October 10, the garden and wine cellar had just closed for the year, but I still had to pay full price. I'm sorry, but paying full price for half of the displays doesn't sit well with me.

More for children, not really for the animals We saw a zookeeper use a fire extinguisher on monkeys from the side to keep them appart We had to pay for the waterpark too, eventhough we did not want to use it. I visited Touroparc Zoo a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my birthday, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! What made this experience so special was how hands-on it was. Unlike other soigneur experiences where you barely get to interact with the animals, Christophe made sure we were involved and engaged the whole way through. You can tell he genuinely cares for the all the reptiles and takes great pride in sharing that with others. We had the chance to see so many incredible species up close, and he gave us a fascinating look into what it’s really like to work behind the scenes at a zoo. Thank you, Christophe, for making my birthday so memorable. Your enthusiasm made the visit come alive! Highly recommend this experience to anyone, whether you're an animal lover or just curious. Truly a 10/10!

Very! nice park but absolutely ridiculous how weird they are about the height in the attractions, when accompanied by an adult. I was not allowed to drive the horses attraction with my baby who really got to love this attraction in Parc le pal. We stood 15 minutes in the burning sun. When it was our turn he pointed at the sign saying my baby should be 90cm. At Parc le pal we did this attraction multiple times without an issue. This ruined the moment. All other safe attractions you can do as parent with your kid, is not allowed, really frustrating. The wild water attraction or the mono rail are allowed :/ Please check your height restrictions... Everything else is really nice, but above gave everything a bad taste.

I don't have a name, Lidl or Aldi is better! : Auvergne Taost (one passage to spread out, one to pick up what is placed on the Taost) Punch... without alcohol or very little, and without taste... except sugar. The basic STARTER, the dish - chicken fillet - just not good: chicken pierced in Saumur, dirty and waterlogged... so very, even too tender to be of good quality. Just spiced up with a porcini mushroom sauce. The accompaniment was supposed to be polenta...semolina. Before the cheese - disgusting and bland - and the frozen 🍨, another obligatory photo for €9. The coffee worthy of the neighborhood fair to finish... Well, we're old - not too old anyway - and we like good things, maybe the show will be better. I forgot something, express meal... followed by the show, not at the same time!!!! And yes, they offer the possibility of only coming for the show (to make more money) So the show: Animation by recorded tape to get in the mood throughout the evening, artists who are good, but who only reproduce what was asked of them. Édith Piaf, I like 2 to 3 minutes, but 15 minutes is a long time.... The girls,... pretty but mediocre show.... Mixture of children's show and nonsense fair. Anyway, after 25 minutes of show we left. I don't understand why you have such a rating. It seems that the food is not important and neither is the quality of the show. We have had other evenings of this type, for much less money and much better. 199€ for 2 + 37 euros for 2 glasses of champagne. Yes, if you want to change dessert, it’s €5!!! No photos because prohibited and very often recalled by the soundtrack (it's better to pay €9 for it 🤣🤣🤣) Conclusion: flee this place!!!

The dancers are truly professional. Their costumes are splendid. And the singer really took us into her story! We are delighted to have seen this very beautiful spectacle which really has nothing to envy of those in Paris. Congratulations to your entire team. (Original) Moment magique! Once the show was over, I only wanted to come back with friends and show them the cabaret you want. Congratulations for this beautiful production (Original) Le spectacle a de loin dépassé mes attentes.

My partner dreamed of discovering a “traditional” cabaret show. She loved this quality magazine. We had a great time on January 1, 2024. I had booked for the photo with the artists at the end of the show. That's when I proposed. Thank you to the entire team for their support in this unique event.

(Translated by Google) Very nice evening spent at the Vous vous! The warm welcome and attentive servers. The meal was very good quality, although there was a downside to the drinks service (champagne served at the next table and a carafe forgotten, but all that was taken care of). Special mention for the Utopia show! Rather modern musical comedy, with songs, dances, and much more, in which the public is invited to participate.

Very friendly team. Nice drinks menu. Reasonable prices. Stunning spectacle. Magnificent dancers. Beautiful choreography. A singer with a voice to die for. Everyone there is friendly. The room is large and well appointed. I will go back as soon as possible to see the Caprice show. Glitter from the lights of music (Original) Visité deux fois cette année pour les spectacles Utopia en février et Idoles pour le jour de l'an.
