This is set out on 3 floors. The first being a shop floor with a cafe. The second floor is part of the museum and is more like a historical look back at some of the products and toys this brand has made and sold. Finally the third floor is where all the model trains are kept (Behind plexiglass) For many people who are into trains, this will undoubtedly be a pleasant place to visit. My only concern is the high entrance fee to visit the 2 floors which are essentially a brands selection of previous products (a show room) and so the 10 euro per adult fee seemed disproportionate for what it was. Sure it’s a nice place to visit, and those with a keen interest in trains and train models should really enjoy this. But i can’t see the value in relation to the cost and what was on show. I personally think the first floor (no charge) is the best option and skip paying the high fees to visit upstairs.

So cool lots of cool things to see. So much history about model railroad hobbies. There's lots to see and do here make sure you have at least an hour to view the museum. And more if you want to go see the HO layout in the basement. If you are in the area definitely check it out 10/10

Awesome place! There is an outside exhibition of train(s) and train models, and museum is great if you are a Märklin. You can also buy tickets online in advance, or as a voucher to your friends. Train models of different sizes are on sale in the museum.

Nice museum and shop. The factory section to see the manufacturing was closed. Had to pay 10 euro to enter which seems extreme as it is advertising for the brand. The prices at the bistro were very good though. The bistro employees were very friendly and helpful.

Märklineum: The Märklin Museum and Bistro are Closed undergoing reconstruction until approx September 2019, when it should be open for the 2019 Göppingen model expo. The Gift/Model Shop, Technical Centre and the Fund Grube are open and very well stocked with all the current stock as well as the Complementary display Items from all the leading Brands There are items in the Fund Grube that ard at a reduced price, either below quality for shipping or extra items like loads for wagons or special items. The Buildings are fully accessible with a very wide stepless entrance. It's very well laid out with good space between the display cases, there are toilets and lockers behind the Technical Desk. There is a wooden train-set to try and keep the littlest ones distracted while you look through the Book shelves.

If you are into train models then this is the place to visit! It was a eyeopener for me as I never new a small model could cost 3-4000 EUR!! A 20cm electric rail track 180 EUR! This is definitely not a hobby for kids but kidults!! 😁 who can spend cash on their hobby.

A truly enjoyable experience and one of the better thermal spa destinations I’ve visited! The complex is spacious, well-maintained, and offers plenty of amenities for a full day of relaxation. The outdoor pool with its swirling current effect is a highlight—both relaxing and fun. The water has a slightly salty taste, adding to the natural and therapeutic feel. The facility is modern and thoughtfully designed, with excellent accessibility for people with special needs. Everything is clean, and the staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend visiting, whether as part of a weekend wellness getaway or a day trip. For thermal spa lovers—this place is a real gem!

I love this therme. It’s clean. Lots of options from nice pools, saunas, salt room and chairs to relax on. The view is beautiful and always enjoy a nice meal when there. I can’t fault this place at all. It’s one of my favorites in the Stuttgart area.

This place is brilliant. Staff are great and have limited English but they still tried and it's much better than my non existent German. So you pay and they give you a watch which controls the gate to get in and exit. It also locks and unlocks the lockers which is smart You get into a changing cubicle get changed and exit out the other side where the lockers are. Put your stuff in and follow the crowd. If you have never been to a public bath it's good etiquette to wash first before getting into any of the pools. There's quite a lot to choose from in various different temperatures so you'll find one that will suit you The most fun one is the whirlpool where you just grab a foam stick wrap it around you and the water will carry you around the large pool where there are various jets that can massage you. 13 euros for 2 1/2 hours which I think is plenty is pretty cheap . There's also saunas but you will have to go in stark naked. Thoroughly recommended

It's are a beautiful place to swim and have fun. My son likes 36° swimming pool outside. We spend all day there and we enjoyed it.

Great variety of pools with work out suggestions and hydromassages. Also excellt choice of steam and relax rooms. Love the fact that there are no kids under 6 it makes it a more relaxed enviorment. Clean amd safe facility with an excellent restaurant onsite.

It was cheap to just walk around on the inside for 5 Euros and pay extra to get the tour. I thought that was great that they gave you options. They had a nice store right in-front with food and sold goodies at the ticket booth. Great information booklet in English. And the views were spectacular. Car parking was only 2 Euro and they had lots of various walking areas.

Schloss Lichtenstein feels like something straight out of a fairytale. Built right on the edge of a cliff, the way it sits perched above the valley is absolutely stunning. As you walk up to it, the first thing that strikes you is how dramatic the setting is — the castle looks almost like it’s growing out of the rock itself. Once you’re there, you can’t help but admire the views that open up all around you. The castle isn’t as large as some of the other well-known German castles, but that’s exactly what gives it so much charm. Its smaller size and unique location make it feel intimate and magical at the same time. Walking around, you get the sense of stepping into a storybook, with every angle offering another perfect picture. Compared to other castles I’ve visited in Germany, Schloss Lichtenstein stands out because of its setting. While Hohenzollern impresses with its grand scale and history, Lichtenstein wins you over with its fairytale look and the way it blends into the cliffside. The combination of scenery, architecture, and atmosphere makes it unforgettable. It’s one of those places where you stop, take your time, and just enjoy the moment. For me, visiting Schloss Lichtenstein was a highlight, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a castle that looks like it was lifted straight from the pages of a fairytale.

Can a book inspire you enough to build a castle based on the book's description? I can clearly understand the feelings of Wilhelm von Urach who was mesmerized by Wilhelm Hauff's book "Lichtenstein" at the point that he ordered to build that castle. This is the essence of the era of German Romanticism – a dream of the times of medieval castles, knights and chivalry. The castle itself is magnificent: it rises directly from the cliff, immediately creating an atmosphere of medieval times. The suspension bridge can rise at any moment, blocking the path to the impregnable castle, while the princess has fallen in enchanted sleep... The exteriors are stunning, you might want to plan more than 3 hours for castle visiting. Don't miss the wooden sculpture of Wilhelm Albert von Urach on the road to the castle. The exteriors can be visited only with guided tour, which lasts around 30 minutes (on German or English, flyers provided). The entrance fee is now 14 euros (it was 12 in May 2024). Taking photos inside is strictly prohibited, which is very unfortunate, as the 193cm long champagne glass looks amazing, as well as the armory and weapons, wooden furniture, decorated walls and painted ceilings. The stained glass in the chapel is interesting, too. The other unfortunate thing is the transport communication. The bus goes to the castle only on Sundays, while on working days you will need to find your way to the castle and from it through the forest where no signs can be found (route from road L230). On the official website of the castle you can find the maps of the tracking paths, but there's no mention about the Honau track being unpassable because of numerous fallen trees. It's humid and slippery in the forest even on warm and dry weather. And again, no signs whatsoever. There is a parking area (2€ for the whole day) very close to the castle, so I strongly recommend reaching to the castle by car. TIP: Don't forget to visit the ruins of Alt Lichtenstein, they are close to the Lichtenstein castle and offer a beautiful view. P.S. Drones are prohibited in the area.

Lovely gothic castle, worth a visit. We didn't go inside because we had our dog with us, but the outside views and courtyard were worth the very reasonable entry price. Loved the little statues hidden around! Service at the café outside was friendly and the coffee was good too.

An absolutely stunning castle with incredible views! The location on the cliff is breathtaking, and the architecture looks straight out of a fairytale. It’s a beautiful place to wander around, take photos, and just enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely a must-see if you’re nearby! There is a large parking lot nearby to drive up to the castle that costs €2 (you can pay cash to the parking attendant or with card at the nearby cafe if you do not have cash) There’s a small fee to enter the castle grounds, which I found totally worth it for the views alone. You can also pay extra for a guided tour inside the castle, but I just explored the outside area and still had a great experience. I wouldn’t buy tickets in advance, the line at the ticket desk goes down quickly and it’s worth the wait!

Here are a few tips on how to go to the caste with public transport. On Sundays and holidays there are busses that take you directly to the castle without any hiking needed. These busses don’t show in the Google maps, you can check the times using the DB app. It is very easy and simple to find the bus. If you go on a day without a bus directly to the castle, then you need to do the 30min hike. It starts from the bus stop in Honau. The hike to the castle is very easy. A normal active person can do it fine. It is just a trail inside the forest. There was a fallen tree in the middle of the trail, making it a little difficult, but was ok. If you are with kids or with a girlfriend then it is not recommend to take the trail as the fallen tree part is a bit tricky. But if you are a group of guys, go for it! Go get the famous picture of the castle you need to pay to get in the yard (5 Euros). To get inside the castle you also need to pay (More 8 Euros). *I don’t remember the prices exactly. I recommend doing the small tour inside the castle. It was very fun and interesting. The guide was a lady and she did an amazing job! Lastly there are a few restaurants up there and also a big parking lot for cars.

Beautiful little castle and rivals Neuschwanstein for that fairy tale style castle feel. The only down side to our visit is that we booked the tour and we were handed a English pamphlet to read as the tour was conducted in German only - except for the guide telling us not to take any pictures inside the castle in English. It was neat to see the interior but wish the guide would did a little bit of it in English or had a separate tour like other stops.

Nice shopping spot - lots of shops, very well organized and easily accessible. There are a lot of parking spaces. Toilets are accessible and very clean. Everything is organized in such a way that you don't worry about anything and just do your shopping. For the shops themselves I would say that for some things I usually find better deals online. However, there are a lot of people who prefer shopping from outlets.

A large shopping center with many world-class brand stores at reasonable prices. There is a list of all stores in the photos. Parking is not a problem, there are many parking garages and parking areas. There are cafes, restaurants and bistros. They do their best to ensure the satisfaction of visitors.

The OUTLETCITY in Metzingen is one of the big down in Germany. The products are made in china or Africa and the prices are sky-high. The restaurant food is overpriced and even the drinking water is not affordable in this summer and charging 3 euros for a small pet bottle. The Drinks wending machine is not working and you need to buy from only those restaurants.

Amazing place it is like a village and offers everything (food, coffee, drinks etc.) I couldn’t say that the discounts worth the visit as it is an average 30% minus the initial price. You have to search a lot to find a real offer. It ils also really crowded but that is normal for a place like this. I couldn’t imagine that you have to pay parking fee (2€/hour!!!) in a city outlet where you go to spend money for sure 👎

It was a unique experience from my side. After having parked the car, we entered to the museum and took the elevator to the top floor where you are going to start your journey. From classic cars to classic sport cars and from recent road stars to formula cars. I mean simply amazing. The most important thing to do in the city.

Visiting Hohenzollern Castle was one of those experiences that really stays with you. As we made our way up and started walking around the outdoor observation areas, the view simply took my breath away. The valley stretches out endlessly, and from the castle walls it feels like you’re standing above the world. It’s the kind of view that makes you stop, breathe, and just take it all in. The castle itself is just as impressive as the scenery. It stands tall and majestic, with an atmosphere that carries centuries of history. Walking through it, you can almost feel the presence of the people who once lived there and the important role this place played. Every hallway and corner has a story, and when you step back outside to those sweeping views, it all ties together beautifully. I’ve seen a number of castles in Germany — each with their own charm — but Hohenzollern stood out in a way that felt different. It wasn’t just about the architecture or the history alone; it was the combination of both with its stunning location on top of the hill. That mix of breathtaking scenery and deep history makes it one of the most memorable castles I’ve ever visited. If you’re traveling in the area, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s the kind of place you’ll remember long after you leave.

I loved how they still kept history alive for viewing and provided a free app guided tour. The shuttle to the castle from the parking lot, gift shops and bathrooms in both the castle and parking lot, and restaurants made the tour convenient. But the best parts were the view of nearby lands and beautiful artifacts.

This was a wonderful experience and this castle does not disappoint with sheer beauty located at the top of the mountain. I got lovely photos and videos. There is shuttle bus to the top and an app that gives you an audio tour. There are also many guides on site to answer questions and give you more history. There is a gift shop with beautiful souvenirs and an on site restaurant/bar/cafe. Well worth the visit and I recommend buying advance tickets which are slightly discounted. I also rented a super car on this trip and the drive from Stuttgart was scenic and so much fun in a performance car. Also recommend the drive.

This is a beautiful castle! It is very well maintained. The walk through is nice, and the museum area is really neat too. There's a beautiful outdoor seating area with a beer garden/restaurant. We had lunch and coffee there. We also visited with a baby, and read ahead of time not to bring a stroller due to stairs and tight spaces. So we used a baby carrier instead and it worked perfectly! This is a must visit castle if you're anywhere close in the vicinity. The view looking down is also beautiful.

One of the biggest castles in Stuttgart. This is well-maintained, and the shuttle bus is a great option for the elderly and those with mobility issues. But you will get the best experience if you walk to the castle from the bottom.

The TV tower in Stuttgart is an impressive landmark and well worth a visit. It is included in the Stuttgart card, and there is also free parking right at the site which makes the visit easy. The ticket office doubles as a small souvenir shop with many interesting items, adding to the sense of arrival. Going up just before sunset proved to be a magical choice, as the city and surrounding hills slowly changed colour with the fading light. The panorama from the top is wide and striking, stretching far across the region. It is one of those places where the timing of your visit makes a big difference, and sunset truly enhances the experience.

Best view of the city could be possible from here. It is first TV tower so worth to visit and experience the engineering at that time. Price is bit too much under 10 euro make more sense, may be maintenance or whatsoever cause for current price. There is restaurant, funny is price is super expensive and rules is per sit you have to buy food, even for kids too. Plus we had experience from one lady staff member and feel not so welcoming only smile came after tip 😏. I would recommend to bring your small food or whatsoever stuff with you and go to the tower to enjoy the view only.

To go up there is some info that you can read and the elevator was very smooth. Supposedly there is also a cafe up there. Since was Sunday it was closed.

Great view at the sunset. I went on a Monday end of August, there was no line and very easy to park the car. Elevator goes up to 150m. Altitude on the top is ~643m you have a good look of Stuttgart. Take a jacket because it’s windy at the top.

Ah, Fernsehturm Stuttgart – that “boring concrete tube” suddenly turns out to be one of the most satisfying viewpoints in Germany. From the ground, it looks like just another TV tower, but step onto the observation deck and… bam! Stuttgart, vineyards, and the Alps all in one shot. Suddenly you realize you’ve been looking too low your whole life. The elevator is fast and comfortable – perfect if you don’t want to tire your legs, and the spiral stairs? Oh, those don’t exist, so you can just feel like a VIP enjoying the city from your perch in the sky. The deck is high enough to give a slight “oh wow, this is high!” thrill, but not so high that you need to grit your teeth. In short: Fernsehturm Stuttgart looks unassuming until you go up and discover it’s more spectacular than many so-called “Instagrammable architectural stars.” The queues are minimal, the views are maximal, and the satisfaction of feeling on top of the world is absolutely guaranteed.

Beautiful garden + zoo which is so nicely maintained. The garden is spectacular. There is the cactus area which would mesmerize all garden lovers. The surroundings are well kept. The Amazon experience is amazing. The animals can be viewed closely, that's how the landscaping is done for their enclosures. Multiple restaurants are within the Wilhelma zoo. Not to forget some lucky ones even got peacock feathers. We visited on a Saturday with kids and it was a day well spent.

Huge place to visit, great value for money of you go on sight seeing. Wilhelma is both a botanical and a zoological garden with a great collection in both fauna. There are a lot of things to do for children (special places were they can climb and play) but as well as a lot of places to grab something to eat or a coffee or a … bear.

This was by far the biggest coolest zoo we've ever been to! Beautiful botanical gardens too! There's different microclimate buildings with native plants to those regions and the animals are out in their habitat when you walk through. We've never experienced anything like it, definitely the coolest thing we did while we were in Stuttgart! Parking was 8 euros, we spent 6 hours making our way through the park and could have been there even longer than that. We used the 3 day stuttcard that we purchased for entrance at the zoo. Well worth your time!

Wilhelma is an absolute must-visit and a stellar example of modern zoological care! From the moment you step inside, the entire park feels incredibly well maintained—a truly pristine environment. The focus on animal welfare is clear; the complex features very good, spacious animal sanctuaries that clearly contribute to happy animals throughout the exhibits. It's truly heartwarming to see the dedication of the staff, and it’s obvious there are a lot of workers enjoying their job, which adds to the positive atmosphere. A fantastic, ethical, and beautiful day out!

I have visited zoo and botanical gardens lot of time but the trip to Wilhelma was a unique experience. It is constructed such that to give a natural habitat to the animals while people can also experience how the animals of wild look like. You can see them real close through glass windows. This was a very unique experience. There are all kinds of animals and birds. Since I have been only one time, due to limited time, I couldn't visit the Amazon forest and botanical gardens. But I am thinking of getting a yearly pass next year. Amazing experience. The nature truly is amazing and beyond words.

The artificially recreated habitats are vast and carefully crafted to reflect the natural environments of the animals. I was especially amazed by the presence of rare endemic species and the seamless blend of native flora with matching fauna. The dioramas are stunning, and the entire park feels like a perfect mix between a botanical garden and a zoo — a truly unique and memorable concept. It beautifully combines restored older sections with newly developed areas, showing both tradition and innovation. You can clearly see the passion and professionalism behind this project. I’m really looking forward to the opening of the two new wings, which will surely make the experience even richer. Highly recommended for all nature, education, and wildlife lovers!

All this green area , birds and animals is a joy of soul and eyes. Never had this much of calm in a very long time. I am happy that I visited it today. Note : I arrived at the gate and it was opened and none there , I stepped one foot to see where is the staff and a guy firmly asked me to step outside again. I didn't and showed him my ticket , he check it and then allowed me to enter. His behavior was so rude.

This place is a curious place because of houses that seem to be falling in front of you! The paintings on rathouse are nice because of gold color. You can spend time drinking coffee while the sun sets...

Wonderful town. Wonderful Square. A lovely baker in the corner. Good cafes absolutely definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

A pleasant marketplace to walk around. We came across a street band playing cheerful music. One of the nice areas to visit when in Tübingen.

Tübingen is only an hour and half from Stuttgart by regional train. The city dates from the 6th or 7th century, when the region was populated by the Alamanni people. The old castle dates from around year 1.000. The city was totally destroyed during the WW but many buildings were restored. We can still see special details from the original constructions. A very typical German town worth visiting.

It's a beautiful square surrounded by antique buildings. On and off, there are events such as the Christmas market or currently the "Chocolart", a chocolate themed market.

Amazing place to visit. We arrived during an old town festival with traditional french and Italian products. Many live singers, many small Events great restaurants and lots of crowds. The place to be in every weekend!

Fantastic square with the city hall at its center. The building was started in 1435 and extended over the years. Today you can find a fully preserved medieval square without any damages from WWII. It is a bustling square with many cafés and restaurants.

Not a public place. Often taken over by private shows and activities which block the views to the visitors. Should not be a location for shows and events. Visitors are interested in the natural beauty of the state property with no commercial events or shows. Money is always king of the people

Schlossplatz is truly the heart of the city and absolutely deserves five stars! It is a stunning, beautiful landmark that immediately impresses visitors with its grand scale; it's a truly large square perfect for relaxing. What makes it exceptional is how impeccably clean and safe it feels, clearly being well-protected by police presence, allowing you to enjoy your visit worry-free. After enjoying the scenery and the calm atmosphere, you'll love that the surrounding area is packed with many excellent restaurants to eat at. A perfect central destination!

Not that impressed by Schlossplatz. The building and the park are nice but it was very very crowded. Not sure what it is exactly but it is missing the vibe that cities like London or Paris have… On the positive side; we found Coffreez; a really nice coffee take away bar. See foto.

It was really crowded when we went. There are a lot of cool things to see here. A lot of shopping as well. The flea market was open when we went, so we got to see a lot of old items. We went in the November, and they were setting up for the Christmas Market.

Stuttgart hasn't that much to offer to visitors if you don't count two outstanding car museums in its suburbs. The central area is mostly modern and new rebuilt after WWII grounding of entire city. Schlossplatz, or the Palace square is the best attraction from historic point of view. Like you might conclude it's in the very center. A huge Wurtemburg Kings palace dominates the square on the eastern side. In the middle is the unification obelisk erected in honor of Wurtemberg joining the German confederation, with two nice fountains. The square is full of people having their free time and picnic there, while around the square are several bars and restaurants to sip a drink and enjoy the beauty

gothic medieval monastery. includes a church, castle, Monks dormitory, gardens, gothic hallways and greenery surroundings. you can visit the Monastery alone and the castle with a guided group.

Probably the best castle tour we took. The old monastery has been preserved in its original state with its rich and storied history. The church is still in use and is closed to tourists on Sundays. The grounds are in excellent condition and give you true feeling of 16th century living. The tour of the castle was entirely in German but worth the € as it was super informative.

We were attending a concert in the Summer Refectory. Beautiful location for listening to great artist performing wonderful music

We visited Kloster Bebenhausen on a Saturday and though there were people there, it was not crowded at all, and parking was easy to find. Touring the monastery took us into varying rooms such as the dormitory (with bedrooms recreated - from lustrous to straw beds), church, interior garden/fountain, excavation site where you can see what looks to be buildings built lower (with roof tiles) than what is standing now, etc. You can easily spend hours exploring everything, as we did. There is a small gift shop inside the information center, where you also buy your entry tickets. They have items such as books, decorative eggs (some that hang, others in a stand), their own whiskey, and other things. What I have not seem before and found inspiring is that the grave sites have small gardens actually built on them where herbs, plants, and bushes grow. It would be nice to see this type of thing used more often instead of fake or dying flowers and plants. The paintings on the walls and ceilings are beautiful, as well as the spiral staircase leading to the pulpit in the church. The whole place really is a sight to see.

Very interesting monastery and castle. So many stories happened within its walls! This is a very interesting complex. I want to come here again.

Visiting this place is a must if you appreciate automobiles and the culture surrounding them. Although it is located a bit outside the city's heart, the experience is worth the travel. Be prepared for a potentially bustling atmosphere, as many people share your interest. To avoid queues and ensure entry, consider purchasing your tickets ahead of your visit. Enjoy the impressive assortment of Porsches on display for you to admire.

Such a cool experience to be able to go here, loved the interactive bits but the story telling could’ve been done better for Ferdinand Porsche’s life. Coming from my time in the Mercedes Benz museum down the road which did their story telling impeccably. Definitely go here though, would highly reccommend if you like looking at high horsepower monsters and multi million euro cars!

Very nice museum with a really big collection of … Porsche’s of course, what else?! It talks about the really fascinating history, the ups, the downs, the successes, the what ever you want to know about this magnificent sports performance vehicles. It’s a must visit in stuttgart!

Car enthusiasts will love it. The museum will give you a diving in the history of Germany and automobiles. The visit starts at the visitor center going up to the 8th floor down. There’s parking on the streets nearby and some parking nearby the museum. Parking garage is also available nearby. Tickets may be bought online or in person. It is kids friendly and wheelchair accessible. There’s a souvenir store, a restaurant and more downstairs from the visitor center.

A must see for car enthusiasts and history lovers. The museum is nicely laid and and takes you through the history of Porsche from the early days to modern day. Go early to avoid crowds. A fantastic experience overall.

The Porsche Museum is absolutely incredible and a must-visit for anyone who loves the Porsche brand. The collection is stunning, with so many iconic cars from throughout Porsche’s history displayed in a beautifully curated space. From groundbreaking race cars to legendary road cars, every exhibit highlights the brand’s innovation and engineering excellence. My personal favorites were the Nurburgring record-breaking 919 Evo, which is breathtaking to see up close, and the Carrera GT, a true masterpiece of design and performance. The museum perfectly captures what makes Porsche special, and it’s well worth the trip for any automotive enthusiast.

This is a very nice museum. Lots of Porsche history is shown, special versions and good explanations via a mobile device with headset. I must admit that i only used it at the beginning, because some explanations are giving allot of info.you can also walk by and read the text.

Lovely place ….unfortunately the Castle cannot be visited. You can only enjoy some food and drinks and have a short walk around one side of the Castle.

Excellent place to have dinner over here. Look like castle is not open for public. Restaurant serves good food here and beers are so good. Must try Highlight to the place was view towards villages here. Better to visit after 6pm, because sun cools down little and sky turns orange a bit and cool breeze makes you feel relax here.

Beautiful, quiet location with an outdoor biergarten. Castle was closed when we visited mid day, were able to walk the grounds and enjoy biergarten.

The atmosphere is what you're here for! The drinks are good and the food is average. Lots of options for vegetarians, no fish options. This place is spectacular for a view of the area and vineyards but don't expect a gourmet meal. The vegetable pizza was not so great, I would not recommend but the frommes were pretty good. More like pub food.

Business dinner that turned into an memorable experience. Beautiful vistas, good food and beer, friendly staff. Plenty of parking on a field and while the lot was 3/4 full the place did not feel crowded it was that spacious.

My wife took us to the science museum as a birthday gift for me - 10/10 would recommend (the museum, the wife’s spoken for). We had a lot of fun - was there at the opening and lost track of time inside! Don’t forget to utilize the digital backpack and check-ins at certain activities, it’s very useful and kinda plots you your interests for future (or alternative) career paths. The restaurant has some great options when you feel hungry, and all the staff is very helpful and friendly!

Fantastic multi hour, multi story, hands on experience with beautiful outside scenery. Both adults and kids can have a fun time with immersive play here. The cafe cuisine on the main level is yummy and the staff in the cafe as well as the rest of the museum are friendly and helpful.

A great experience for kids and adults alike. We spent two days with my year 5 students and they were fully entertained. We watched a movie and had the robotics workshop. Very well managed and staffed. The staff are all very kid friendly and appriachable. The food is also good and fair priced.

Experimenta has always presented simple concepts in a fun and interactive way. I loved the creativity of the exhibits! Every child will surely enjoy it—and even adults, too. 👍🏻 Highly recommended!

Very nice museum. Top 4 floors are designed for kids under 12, to try out everything themselves. Science dome has movies that are interesting for all. There were extra exhibitions to visit but we ran out of time. Price is very acceptable. We even got a parking discount. Very large parking building right next to the museum.

Truly excellent place this. The exhibits/activities are really well thought out and creative. You could easily spend multiple days in there to get around everything. The prices we very fair (also the restaurant) which was refreshing in comparison to many other attractions these days. If you have kids then you have to visit this place if you are in the area.

Amazing state of the art interactive science museum. A must-visit for anyone, especially for families/kids. Also has an amazing dome-style movie theatre with interesting showings.

Amazing museum to get lost. Plan plenty of time to be there. We stayed the whole days. The museum conditions of w giant halls, planes the roof trops, outdoor exhibition of tanks, planes, playground and amusement parc. We liked best : slide down of one of the planes, Concore& Tupolev, fastest car in the world " Blue Flame" Monstertrack, car of " back from the future".... In hall 1 you can find the IMAX cinema, museum shop, American dream cars, military tanks, planes, helicopters and other vehicles, aircraft hangar, organs and bicycle racing. Hall 2 is allabout motorracing, formula 1, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ralleycars, automobile from the beginning, 20s 40s 50s and modern automobile. On the rooftopyou find the Concord, Tupolev and the submarine.

What an incredible place. It's mind-blowing the exhibits on display. Wild, varied and so many !!! You can view it all in a few hours but for sure take a day out to go to this mind bending place. The Concorde and the Kondcordski Tuplolv tu144 are magnificent. Scary climbing up the stairs and the tilt is a bit steep but well worth going. The cars also , so many cool cars, from supercars, to pre war to hot rods. Exhibits on race cars, a cool display of F1 cars. They also have a Great shop . Deffo pace yourself and take time !! They also have another museum called technik Speyer ... That has the Russian Space shuttle the Buran !!!

Absolutely amazing experience, with the U-boat, Tupolev and Concorde as the major highlight. Do not miss this if you have the opportunity. Expect to spend between 2 and 4 hours. Good - experience some of the most amazing vehicles from up close. - build as an experience - there is actually too much too see - themed areas and some paid interactive displays.

One of the most fascinating museums l've ever been to because of its absolute mint condition of trains, planes and automobiles :) Expect to spend a few hours to a whole day to fully enjoy this huge museum! Very special to see in person was the supersonic airplanes …Concorde and Russian tupolev (Tu-144) and a real U-boat !! (Line ups may vary from 10min to 1hour) Great collection of Lambo’s, Ferrari’s and of course every classic German sports cars. Lots of outdoor parking (5.00€ ) Bonus: some of the special collection exhibits are interactive by putting 2€ coin fee which gives you a great real life example of a steam locomotive wheels in action with sounds, very impressive so just do it !

We've been wanting to go here for a few years as we passed it on the way to someplace else. So much to see and really loved walking inside the Concorde jet and the U boat. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but not too bad. Parking is 5 euros. Lots of cars, tanks, motorcycles and more. Great for a family to spend a half day and the playground was fantastic with rides too.

Great, but it could be so much better. There are some amazing exhibits here, but they're displayed in a ramshackle and random manner. Having the planes at stage angles must have seemed like a good idea (maybe after a beer or two), but I think they'd be better level allowing people to walk through easily and concentrateon looking at the interiors fully.. Information on some of the exhibits is sparse or cut-and-paste from others. It is certainly worth a visit, but it has the potential to be absolutely amazing.

Most fascinating museum I've ever been to. To actually enter a Concorde was a blast. Definitely spending a whole day the next time. Absolutely a family experience. Very nice staff. So much to see and explore.

Whether you want to unwind, swim, or enjoy a full sauna session, everything is available and of top quality. A big plus is the restaurant, which offers surprisingly fresh and flavorful food. The menu is varied, the ingredients taste fresh, and the service is quick and friendly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing spa experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I absolutely loved my time at Sinsheim Therme! From the moment we arrived, everything felt well thought out , the lockers, the comfortable seating areas, the spacious changing rooms, and the neatly organized showers made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. The food was fresh and tasty, and spending the day here with my family was such a joy. We booked one of the beach-style chairs, which made relaxing even better, and I loved how organized everything was — no chaos, no confusion, just pure relaxation. It’s the perfect place to unwind, have fun, and enjoy a beautiful day together.

I had a great time visiting this place. There's truly something for everyone, both adults and kids. I appreciated their focus on privacy and ensuring everyone follows common decency rules without making customers feel uncomfortable. However, the prices are a bit high for what's on offer, and it was a bit crowded for my liking. We had to wait in several areas to enjoy the different pools. I also wish the wristbands were a bit sturdier. The ones we got dissolved in water, making it nearly impossible to remember your locker number after a full day of swimming, visiting the saunas and steam baths. Another area that could use some improvement is the front desk customer service. Apart from giving us our wristbands, they didn't spend much time explaining what there was to do or where everything was located. They just assumed we knew our way around.

It was my first time at the Sinsheim Badewelt. The prices were to high and didn’t really offer much. The Therme in Bavaria has more to offer for almost the same amount … overall it was a nice experience though I wouldn’t be going back with the high prices … I’ll better go back to Bavaria 😂😂 I enjoyed the restaurant , good service. One of the reception ladies was not friendly…

I had very high expectations of this thermal bath but my experience was slightly disappointing. I've been to many thermal baths in Germany and other thermal baths were way better on several aspects. Vital and Sauna area: This area has been the most disappointing so far, there is only one crowded pool bar and an even more crowded tiny salt pool. Textile area: This area has one large pool and a few tiny overcrowded ones that we couldn't try because there was never any free space. Loungers availability: We had to book a double seat for 13 EUR, but for most other days only some outrageously expensive loungers were available (150 to 300 Eur). I've been to better thermal baths in Germany where such a lounger is only around 30-40 EUR instead of 200+ If you don't have a reserved seat, it can be difficult to find a place to sit. One thing I liked is that they have a few non reservable seats and they would clear your towels and belongings if you leave them on it while you're away. Food: Food can be a hit or miss, the chicken Thai curry was nothing like Thai curry and was barely edible. The chili con carne however was quite delicious. They do have some delicious dessert options and the food was not expensive and very beautifully plated. Water temperature: Water temperature was quite cold in my opinion, because a large part of the pool is outdoors and that probably affects the temperature of the water inside. It wasn't uncomfortable though. Air temperature was very pleasant and warm. Parking: Plenty of free parking spots were available. Showers and lockers: There very few showers so waiting times were quite longs and queues of 5-10 people were forming at times. Water temperature was good and the facilities were very clean. Sauna: One thing I loved was the cinema Sauna, you can watch a small documentary projected while inside the sauna. I didn't join any of the activities because the lines were insanely long which made the saunas fully packed. The steam bath was also really nice and the peeling options are amazing. Massage: Massages must be booked ahead of time. They also have some automatic massage beds but I couldn't find the cost mentioned anywhere. I think that's quite misleading. There thousands of real orchids and beautiful plants all over the pools, which was really nice. I'm not sure if I would come back again.

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and drove an hour to the pool, only to find that main pool is closed for renovations – with no notice online or anywhere else. This was a huge waste of time and energy. The indoor pool was uncomfortably warm and not refreshing at all. The outdoor pool area has nowhere to sit or relax, which makes it difficult to enjoy. Poor communication and poorly thought-out facilities. Not coming back. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Absolutely LOVED spending one of our first days in Germany here. We went on a Friday afternoon and probably will be back during the week when it won't be as busy. Would definitely recommend booking a private bed there for the day if you go as you're not allowed to reserve your own. The pool bar is super cute with delicious drinks and it's just a vibe. We also did the sauna part and that was by far THE BEST saunas we have ever been to. Each Sauna has a different theme. Absolutely recommend 👌

The largest market square in Germany, very nice, underground parking available for a not so decent fee. Kinderplatz is also available, quite modern and well equipped.

Beautiful small town surrounded by Black Forest (dense pine trees forest). This is one of the place which most of European senior citizens will come for their vacation. Almost all building, old and new, have beautiful facade and decorated with beautiful blooming flowers. Have variety of shops selling good products. For moslems, there are several halal restaurants and cafes established by Turks and Indian moslems.

A beautiful square with shops and cafes surrounding it. There is no fee to go here. There are fountains which go off and on, great for a hot day to run in and out of if you dare! A great place to wander the time away

Every of Europe's city possess squares / platz.... for the citizens to gather and celebrate.... Marktplatz Freudenstad is one among them.... Decorated with spectacular floral gardens enhance it's beauty. The square is surrounded by numerous restaurants supplying the local taste.... and of course a church open all the time for the public for personal prayers...without which no European towns exist.

Reading the various reviews, we weren’t sure WHAT to expect! Indeed, we met the surly ladies at the desk, having arrived during a Sunday afternoon rush when they kept holding the line until other people came out . (Apparently, they ran out of lockers!) I’m amused that so many people complain about the nudity, given that you’re at a sauna in Germany! You’re allowed to wear a swimsuit in the historic part of the spa and in the super warm “blue pool.” It was about 70/30 naked during our visit. The sauna area and rooftop pool (not to be missed!!!) is 100% nude. Honestly, of all the places we’ve been, it felt weird to have swimsuits allowed alongside nudity. It sort of makes EVERYONE feel conspicuous. 🤷‍♂️ The place is an amazing labyrinth of nooks and crannies to explore. And I agree with the people who wish the warm pools in the historic section were warmer. 34•C is not very warm! I’m sure we’ll make our way back one day!

Fluffy towels and robes are provided for your use during your stay. The spa is excellent. The varied aufguss schedule runs hourly, we loved both the ice tea and music sessions and the varied scents used. The Moorish room is such a beautiful place to enjoy lunch. We had pizza and flamenkuchen - both reasonably priced and delicious. It was great to learn more about the history of the spa - thankfully a lady who spoke English translated it for us. It would be appreciated to have a version orinted in English to read and enjoy for those of us who speak German badly. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We left refreshed and rejuvenated.

Firstly the interior is absolutely the stunning from the tiles and statues to the stained glass - all beautiful. The behavior we witnessed by other patrons was confronting, multiple individuals and couples were being sexually inappropriate with one another in public spaces. It made us extremely uncomfortable as we were there to relax. There were no staff members supervising/policing said rules. There was one particular male sitting on a water jet and moaning loud enough for staff at the cafe to hear and nothing was done. Note that you must be completely nude for the sauna, staff do not explicitly tell you this when you pay so if you’re not comfortable being nude (after what we saw there was no way we were) don’t bother adding it onto your pass. We will not be back. Stars provided as the interior is stunning. perhaps if we went on another day and people were acting like respectful members of society we would’ve had a phenomenal time. Alas this was not the case.

Calais thermal bad was simply amazing and relaxing! The facility is super well maintained and very clean, which wins mega plus point! ..Also the personnel is very helpful, friendly and professional! Pro tip: Mon-Fri. Palais opens only afer 1300h..The location is nested in the small town of Badwild Bad, Northern Blackforest, absolutely beautiful place to unwind and find your peace of mind! AMAZING place. We come once a year from the United States. Note, 90% of what is accessible is cloning free - not optional. If you want to just relax in a warning bath there are rooms downstairs but if you want to enjoy the real saunas it is “textile” free - meaning you can walk around in a robe but when you go in you must be nude. When inside you bring a towel to sit on, but that’s it. Life is short, try it out! Literally no one cares what you look like inside.

Very nice thermes! The ground floor is only bath and very relaxing with big and small baths with different temperature. The saunas are on the higher floors and have all a different vibe. There is a bar and restaurant allowing you to have a drink and grab a bite easily during your stay.

This place is amazing. I spent a whole day here. The baths are very special. Beautiful. I was lucky to have the sunshine on my side and spent most of my day relaxing upstairs on the roof terrace and popping into the saunas and the pool. Can't wait until I can go back

Great for young children, very educational. There is a 30 minutes walk to the peak, but with the activities along the way it could be over an hour. There are toilets at the end of the experience which is included in the price. Alternatively, there is one before entering which takes euro coins and gives no change back. I found this annoying as I hate to walk around with coins in my pocket. There are playgrounds at the end of the experience for children for which there is a separate fee. I would recommend it for or with children, for adults it is just okay.

Great educational and overall experience. From the entry way a walkway with education and activities for children brings you to the main area with the treetop walkway. Once at the top of the walkway you'll be able to see to the horizon in any direction and there are helpful arrows signposting significant locations and directions. For the adventurous there is a quick way down for only 2€ At the base is a extensive play area for children. Overall a really good experience and very worth the entry fee.

Good easy hike for the family. Fun nature facts are scattered throughout the walk (Kids 6yrs and 4yrs) though there’s admission fee and additional fees for the slide and the playground, worth it for the experience. Costs I’m sure go towards the upkeep. Everything is well maintained. Note: Bring 2€ coins to use the slide.

A very cool place! We visited the Treetop Walk in the Black Forest and really enjoyed it. Since the upper parking lot was full, we hiked up through the forest - a pleasant and scenic trail that made the visit even more rewarding. If you prefer an easier option, there’s a convenient cable car from Bad Wildbad that takes you right to the top. The treetop walkway itself costs around €10 per adult and offers beautiful panoramic views over the Black Forest. It’s an easy, accessible path suitable for all ages. At the top, there’s also a fun spiral tube slide you can take down for an extra €2 - a fun touch, especially for kids (or adventurous adults!). Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Absolutely wonderful walk through the forest. The Treetop walk is both stunningly beautiful and peaceful. If you are going on a weekend, try to go a little before or after midday (fewer folks up there). The views from the top of the tower are long and majestic. The Bergbahn runs up from Bad Wildbad every 30 minutes on the 15th and 45th minutes. Along the walking path are fun activities and some wonderful little bird box/people are hanging in the trees waiting to be discovered.

This is so much fun and a very easy walk from the car park. It offers stunning views and the slide back down is so much fun! Do not miss!

Great days outing in black forest region. Awesome views and activities along the walk and a slide down once you get to the top (extra cost). Parking was easy. Hint - take your own picnic or sandwiches before you head back down.

Is just a short duration trip by this train. But is one of the oldest and worth riding. You have to buy the full Panorama ticket to ride both trains to reach the top. You cannot ride this train with just a castel ticket and you may have to buy it separately.

We walked here from the castle (no problems with a stroller) on a whim and Google Maps indicated the funicular to be in operation. Unfortunately the Bergbahn was closed and we discovered the website stated the funicular is closed until April 7, 2019. There are replacement buses in service, but not quite as novel. The views from here are mostly blocked by trees, so not overly worthwhile unless you feel like a hike. We noticed several waking trails adjacent to Schlosshotel Molkernkur if you’re on foot.

Beautiful as you can see. This station is the last from the new train and the first from the old model. Even the stop looks great, all wooden like the train (which does make some noise while going up or down, but I guess that's part of the adventure 😆). I recommend taking this tour because of the view, which is breathtaking. Plus, it leads to Königstuhl, which is the highest point by train. A 10 minute wooden train away.

Heidelberger Bergbahn. Nice to experience once. The railroad has steepness of up to 41 degrees. Well maintained by HSB.

This is museum, that you can find in the Heidelberg castle. It has a couple big rooms, where you can find a lot of shelves with apothecary glass. It interesting. But it is a pity that you can’t buy some glass like in museum. Only one bottle there was.

The museum is quite small so there's a traffic light system at the entrance in an attempt to keep it from overcrowding but, in my experience, it didn't work. Perhaps people just ignore it. I found it far too packed inside to see even a fraction of all the interesting exhibits, let alone stop to read the labels. A shame, because it's a really well curated museum and fascinating subject.

It’s not very big, but it’s full of fascinating displays including but not limited to old jars, herbal remedies, antique tools and entire reconstructed apothecary shops. It gave me a real sense of how medicine was prepared centuries ago. I loved how detailed everything was and it made me appreciate how far science has come while still being connected to old traditions. If you are already at the castle, it’s definitely worth stepping inside. Quite informative & unique.

I think this Apothecary Museum is good place to look around because it displays old days interiors of historic apothecaries. Furthermore admission fee is included in the castle ticket so that it is better and easier, no reason not to see this. With jars, herbs, powders its antique atmosphere was good and it was also a little fun to find things or medicines that I know of. It’s good enough, but may be a better place when visiting with kids.

Several sections have been carefully restored, while others are intentionally kept as ruins, which adds to its atmosphere. You can visit a fascinating pharmacy laboratory museum inside, though access to the other interior areas is unfortunately restricted. The grounds include an enormous garden and provide breathtaking views of the city. Entrance fee is 11,00 € for adults. Walking through the castle and soaking up its centuries-old history was an unforgettable experience.

Very beautiful view over the whole city including the hills, the river, and a breathtaking sunset in the horizon. The garden is sooo big and “instagrammable” with many spots for selfies and photos. The castle is not big but has a beautiful winery, restaurant, small museum, beautiful facade, but most importantly an amazing high terrace overlooking the city. The tickets include a ride on the cable tramway taking you all the way to the tip of the mountain. A beautiful ride and nice view.

Absolutely beautiful place! The views over Heidelberg are stunning, and the castle itself is full of history and charm. Great mix of ruins and restored areas, with lots to explore. A must-see if you’re in the area! The bergbahn is really close by too if you have tickets to go back into altstadt

This castle truly has a mystic vibe to it! The red-brick theme, and the fact that its in ruins but still very well maintained adds to its appeal. Highly recommend visiting in fall/autumn as it looks super aesthetic with the green-yellow-red-brown leaves all around the magnificent castle! We didn't go inside but just taking a stroll around it and outside was super beautiful and makes for a good outing in Heidelberg!

Visiting Heidelberg Castle felt like stepping into a storybook. The walk up is a bit steep, but completely worth it for the stunning views over the city and the Neckar River. The castle itself has a beautiful mix of grandeur and ruin, which gives it so much character and history. I especially enjoyed wandering through the gardens and taking in the scenery. My recommendation is to take your time and just enjoy the atmosphere as well as to go before the sunset. Highly recommended!

Highly Recommend 👌👌👌 Heidelberg Castle is absolutely worth a visit! The views over the city and river are breathtaking, and the mix of old architecture and history makes it special. Don’t miss the giant wine barrel or the Pharmacy Museum. Go at sunset for amazing photos. The only problem is parking especially on the weekends, this place is crowded with visitors.

I didnt go into the palace(entrancee fee was around 20EUR) but it was so beautiful even only outside. I saw the panoramic view to the city. It was perfect.

Town’s central square has been main market place since the Middle Ages with Gothic church located on western side and Rathaus with ornate architecture on another side. Lots of shops and restaurants around, but Lindt chocolate store was my choice to come by.

Totally worth it to stroll from the tram station until this place, lots of shops, restaurants along the way it’s probably almost 1km street. And it’s just before the entrance of funicular to the castle.

Beautiful old city. A bit touristy, and frankly, not as clean as our other stops in Germany.

Heidelberg is located just 75 minutes by Flix Train from Frankfurt . When we went there it was very cold in mid January and everything was most beautiful. Loved visiting the castle . It’s very easy to get Uber for to and fro . Market area was like a dream land with most beautiful coffee shops and cinnamon rolls . It was great to have the local delicacy Gluh wine with chestnuts . There was a fleeting moment when I wished to stay there longer instead of just a day because of the beauty all around . If you are visiting Frankfurt then do spare a day and visit heidelberg which is awesome . I also heard that the heidelberg economy thrives on IT companies so they get lots of business visitors .

The vibe was very relaxed and the food met my expectations. Part of the hike to the waterfall however made me nervous since I don't like heights.

There was a big hut selling drinks and food. The Wurstsalat contained a lot of vinegar. Not sure if that is how it is supposed to taste, but we didn't like it. The monastery is impressive. We saw the waterfall from high up the mountain. Take the left pad if you want to see it from nearby.

Such a beautiful area. The abbey ruins are a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the waterfall entrance to the National Park. Very worth it to visit both and to eat at the restaurant too. There’s limited parking at the ruin. The abbey isn’t the biggest ruin around (and we visited a lot of ruins) but it was beautiful to photograph and walk through. Just after the ruins is the restaurant (5 stars), a clean bathroom, then a fountain park, a recreated roman temple, and then the walk to the waterfalls. Spent 3 hours total and about 30 of that at the ruin. Perfect for the whole family. Not ADA accessible. No charge to get in. Mark Twain wrote about this spot and the walk to Oppenau in A Tramp Abroad. The Restaurant: Beautiful setting for this restaurant right near the Allerheiligen Kloster ruin. We sat outside since it was such a beautiful day. Our server was wonderful and spoke very good English. We had the appetizer cheese plate for our lunch split between my husband and I and it was too much food! It came with two shots of schnapps—nice! Make sure to visit the ruin, the fountains, the temple, and the waterfall—so worth it!

You can have a freezing cold beer with the nice view. Staff are friendly, food comes out fast.

Nice drive down there, plenty of free parking on site. The Abbey itself is not huge, will only take you 5 mins to explore, so combining with a walk to the waterfalls would make sense (though not what we did). Nice secluded and tranquil location.

This was a quick easy hike. The ruins are very cool to explore. There are very nice bathrooms near the restaurant and gift shops and water fountains. We were sad the restaurant was closed while we visited. Worth the stop. We explored everything around the ruins in about 30 minutes. Great break to stretch legs but not take too much time.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my three kids (nearly ages 6, 4, and 2) on our way from Kaiserslautern to Triberg. We parked in the parkplatz marked in one of the photos. There were basically no spots available; we had to pull off the side of the road that became the path to the abbey. It is nesteld in a tight corner between a road in a restaurant, with less than attractive buildings and fire escapes surrounding it on one side, making picture taking difficult in some spots. The ruin itself is truly amazing - there is quite a bit left of it, and you can explore all of the ground level rooms (though you can't go up in the remaining tower). We were lucky enough to speak to some visitors who had lived there in her youth and she told us some of the history of the place, which includes poorly behaved priests who may or may not have deserved the lightning strikes that brought the abbey down. We spent about 20 minutes looking around before we felt we had seen it all, and then proceeded on to the Kiosk further down the path for a snack. We found free indoor bathrooms there that were large and clean. We were lucky with our timing - on our walk back to the car, there was a wedding going on within the abbey and visitors were no longer allowed into it. If you are unfamiliar with the area, be sure to download your GPS driving directions beforehand, as I had poor service when leaving the area. Overall, a beautiful, if slightly smaller than expected, which I wish had nicer surroundings, but nevertheless absolutely worth the 45 minutes it added onto our trip, especially with the close parking, bathrooms, and food.

Beautiful place to stop and enjoy a break. Woodland and lake walks plus restaurant and various shops. The walks are great. Everything in the shops looks top notch but is a complete tourist trap with high prices. However, if you see something you like, you probably won't be disappointed with the quality.

If you’re around Black Forest, Mummelsee is a must. It’s eerie yet romantic — felt like a scene straight out of Raaz. Walk around the lake, find the mermaid statue at the far end, and soak in the legend. Had the original Black Forest cake there — totally worth it. Picked up some cute cuckoo clock souvenirs too. Loved the vibe. Would go again.

A nice funicular (railway cable-car) leading to a lovely mountain top with amazing view and nice spots for a picnic. Theres ride takes a few minutes. The tower at the top offers stairs or an elevator (however even with an elevator there are a few steps to climb). There’s also a restaurant there.

An absolute must. We walked from central Baden Baden to the station which was initially very steep. It then levels out. (Regular buses & lots of car parking). The view and walking trails are great. The cafe is reasonably priced. Naturally we scoffed a Black forest gateau which was excellent.

Very accessible by public transportation. The railway itself is amazing, and the view of the Black Forest from the top is stunning. An absolute recommendation!

Once you get to the top, the view from there is mind blowing. There's also a tower built there, which gives access to go further high up and the view keeps getting better. Did the guided tour for 10€ less 1€ discount from our hotel. It really is worth doing. The casino is absolutely stunning with a fascinating history. The tour takes 40 minutes and you are allowed to take photos. A nice interlude on a cold day.

The coat-check lady was nice; but the Admissions lady was definitely not nice. I was well-dressed in a black-leather jacket, tux-white shirt and a gold-laced bow tie. The B forced me to drop €10-20 on an unnecessary jacket rental; and was a snot about it. Reminded me of my first encounters in East Germany when The Wall was coming down. They had everything, but a bartender; because the 3 or 4 of them were kind of in the back corner talking. No attention whatsoever to customers. As an afterthought, a bartender appeared. WOW. For the $$$$ they were charging I worried about buying dinner. Service = 5/10. Real nice place if you want to hold your mouth open, but if you came to play Blackjack or another game—you’d have more fun by a long shot at the Tampa Seminole Hard Rock Cafe (at half the cost). Not so cool. They have a lot to learn about taking care of the client. When I turned in my Jacket, Ms. N. Admissions was supervising the coat check lady with a specious, down-the-nose look. The Baden-Baden casino is truly stunning: an elegant, refined place full of history, definitely worth a visit. However, what a strange idea to force men to wear a jacket in the middle of summer, with the heat unbearable and the air conditioning not really up to the task. In the end, you end up sweating more than betting… A shame that such an outdated rule slightly spoils the experience in such a prestigious venue!

Cool building architecture and park in front of the building, one of the oldest casino in the world (designed in 1824) gained its fame in 1830s when gambling was banned in France.

Absolutely gorgeous.. a must visit in Baden Baden!!.. it has a 200 yr old history.. the interiors are just amazing.. you could do a tour for a small fee earlier in the day or just soak up the casino vibes after 3pm. Even if you do not want to gamble you can always just get a drink inside 😉
