Its a wonderful view point in nelliyampathy. This view point doesn't have any entry ticket byt there is a 20 rs charge for the parking. From the parking there is only around 400 m walk to the view point. We need to visit there at a good weather. A slight rain may get a good fog there. I dont prefer this destination in summer.

From Pobs Estate, a short trip leads to Seetharkund View Point, a serene hilltop known for its breathtaking scenery. Nelliyampathy is a beautiful and alluring destination. It requires a 300-meter walk to reach the viewpoint, and there is no entrance fee; only a parking fee is required. The path to the viewpoint is adorned with beautiful trees, tea gardens, and a cool breeze. However, it's important to beware of the monkeys and refrain from carrying any visible food items, as they can be very aggressive, especially around children. The viewpoint offers a stunning vista of Palakkad, including the paddy fields. Despite this beauty, I believe there are untapped opportunities to attract more tourists, but the authorities have yet to take action. Furthermore, the roads to Seethargund are in a deplorable state, despite it being a major tourist destination. The authorities have neglected the road's maintenance for a long time, and it remains narrow, making it difficult to accommodate other vehicles.

A week before i went here. Seethargundu viewpoint is awesome. you can see the mist and clouds passing on simultaneously . From here you can watch the water falls . Such a wonderful place and nice experience . But be careful if you carry your children because there is no barricades to restrict & carefully handle your items safe from the monkeys also😅

Very nice location near kollangode in palakkad.It is known for the stunning view point.Waterfalls is a good view during rainy season.A flower show point surrounded by paddy fields also near by where you can take photos.

14 aug 25 - Monkey Falls is a refreshing gem nestled on the Pollachi–Valparai road, just a short drive from Aliyar Dam. The cascading water is crystal clear and cool — perfect for a quick dip or just dipping your feet in after a long ride. The sound of the falls surrounded by lush greenery makes it a calming and scenic spot for nature lovers. There’s a nominal entry fee(50) but if ur tnpl employee then you got free pass , their family gets offer (30), and the area is generally well-maintained, got dressing room for both genders. Just be cautious with your belongings — as the name suggests, curious monkeys might try to "borrow" your snacks! 🐒 Best time to visit is during or just after the monsoon, when the water flow is at its most beautiful. Ideal for a quick stopover on your way to Valparai or as a picnic spot with friends and family. But be careful as rocks are so slippery, it may cause accident. Even today one slipped and made her lips bleed. So be more cautious. Other than that enjoy 😁😁

Had an awesome experience this time! My last visit was disappointing since the falls were closed due to heavy rain, but this time I planned properly and made it. The place is absolutely refreshing, the flow is just perfect, and the whole vibe is soothing. 💧 It’s 100% worth both the money and the time. A must-visit spot if you’re looking for a natural, relaxing break surrounded by greenery. 🌳✨

Water flow was good. Still maintainance needs to improved. Forest Departmet is telling each tourist that don't use soap, shampoo oil in the falls, but still many of them using and spoiling the environment, Rest rooms are well maintained. Better go with cash for paying entry fee though they have UPI option, mobile network is not available.

Nice place to have fun with friends and family. Dress changing facility is available. You will get a refreshing feeling. Try to go during week days.

On the foot hills of the hills town Valparai is the Monkey falls which is a beautiful natural waterfall. Good place for family and friends to visit and immerse in the nature and relax. Entrance ticket 50 rs There are lot of monkeys in the place so should be careful of your belongings

Must visit falls and also easy reach here. They have constructed plain groud here just infront of falls so everyone can easily go till falls. There is also plenty of sitting place here. They also maintain changing rooms for both boys and girls. We have entry fee which is 50. It is better to visit this while returning from Valparai so that we don't get tired. They also provided supporting rods in few places for support.

Visited Palakkad Fort on a holiday and it was almost empty except for a few workers. The calm and peaceful atmosphere made it a relaxing stop. Don’t expect an overwhelming or grand experience, but it’s definitely worth visiting for its historical significance. A quiet place to walk around and soak in a bit of heritage.

The fort is small but beautiful and beautifully maintained by ASI, there is nothing to see much but it's a quiet place in the middle of the city. Ample car and two wheeler parking is available in the fort premises. Fort is surrendered by water.

The main hub is Top Slip, great for jeep safaris (7 AM–10 AM & 3 PM–5 PM) or elephant rides (11 AM–2 PM) — permits needed, book early 🎟️. Park is open 6 AM–6 PM; check‑posts close at 4 PM—don’t miss the 6 PM Valparai cutoff ⚠️. Roads are steep and narrow, drive carefully 🚗. No shops inside—carry water, snacks, and a camera. Very serene place. We went around noon so it was a little hot but it was not that warm. We saw monkeys, deer, peacocks etc. but if it was evening time we could see more of them. There is a canteen near the top slip and washrooms were also available. Through this we can reach the kerala border through Parambikulam Tiger reserve but the road is not recommended. Better coming back through Aanamalai tiger reserve is best.

Nice place to chill over the weekends. We can see elephants live feeding at the camp, other wild animals like bison, deer, bird varieties, monkeys(not the one's that we usually see), wild squirrels, wild elephants etc. Try to be here early as possible, maybe around 6.30 so that you can see wild animals inside the reserve.

Good jungle safari. Spotted elephants, deep down the woods. Morning first safari we could enjoy fresh nature breeze as well as elephant’s feeding. Evening sessions may also have them bathing 😆😜

Mostly very hot place . Only day time we can travel through this forest area. Thick forest mostly we can see monkey, peacock,little birds . Can't stop the vehicle inbetween passing . Don't throw any waste & plastic items . Can experience a good forest drive . Fresh air .

Overall a nice and scenic dam with really nice gardens. A simple and nice place to visit with family. There are activities inside the dam like ropeway, boating etc which can be fun and relaxing at the same time. Can visit once or twice but not more than that.

Not well maintained at all. The ropeway was ok. If you want to go on the dam, tickets are available at park gate which no one told us so we walked all the way and then had to leave since we didn't have tickets. Park is very badly maintained with most of the attractions in a very bad state. Overall, an average visit.

Nice falls, but requires a trek of 3 Kms from Amanalingsewarar temple. Entry for the Panchalingam location is restricted and depends on the water levels in the falls area

This dam is located 20 kms from Udumalpet town which is connected by frequent buses. A good and peaceful place to spend some time with your friends and family. It is one of the cinema shooting spot in Thirumoorthy hills. Both two wheelers and four wheelers are allowed on this place. You can find some snacks shop and fish fry shop near the dam.

Recently we visited Parambikulam trip with Jeep Safari. It's a great experience. Jeep ride was awesome we went with our 2yr kid and he enjoyed thoroughly. Lucky enough to spot two big tuskers and group of deers and couple of tiger tail monkeys and peacock. It's an off season still the climate was very great. Jeep driver Ponnusamy is well versed in all areas very friendly, flexible and cooperative. Value for money.

Long story short - If you want to have once in lifetime rewarding hours in Pollachi then you should really go for this. Here is the long story - I was returning from Kerala after attending my friend's wedding. My plan was to stop and roam in Pollachi for a day en-route to Chennai. The previous day I had no idea about my plans in Pollachi. I took the number from TripAdvisor and made a call, on the other side a person introduced himself as Selva and he sounded kind and approachable. I told him I am looking for a one day trip to Topslip. He pointed the link in his website for the tariff details and asked me to check and get back to him. This to me is an approach I would welcome. Instead of bargaining, having a tough time, he has the details and the price put up in his website. You can choose from the available options and it really helps to narrow down your initial decision. I told him I will be opting for Top-slip-Parambikulam trip. He enquired me about the stay and i said I have no idea and he suggested me a budget hotel near the Pollachi bus stop. The hotel was decent and reasonably priced. The next day we decided to start at 7.30 AM. I got down from the hotel and was surprised to see the Jeep (Gypsy). Selva is the person who is owner cum driver for it. I didn't expect that I will see him in shorts and coolers. I got into the Gypsy and within 5 minutes i started sharing a good conversation with Selva. He was explaining about Pollachi, its geography, its major exports and why he prefers Parambikulam instead of Topslip (Parambikulam is the last hill stop and you will be passing through Topslip). Topslip is poorly maintained by TN Govt whereas the Kerala government maintains Parambikulam. They maintain it so well and the place greets you with their signature warmth. Don't get carried away by the heading "Parambikulam Tiger Reserve". If you have luck you can spot a tiger but it is rare as the tigers will be mostly inside forest. The trip is rewarding if you want to enjoy the forest air, vista views, the light and shadow play by the sunlight instead of having an ambition just to spot a tiger. I could spot many birds on the way sitting inside the jeep which includes - Green Bee Eater, Peahen, Peacock, Lesser Golden Flameback Woodpecker, Racket Tailed Drongo, Indian Golden Oriole, Rufous Treepie. I was lucky to get a glimpse of all these birds in their natural habitat and i even spotted a Cobra snake near the dam area. All through the trip till evening, Selva was very kind and gentle. We discussed a lot of stuffs and he was like a best-friend figure within short span of time knowing him.The Kerala govt. runs a restaurant in Parambikulam and you get some first class breakfast and lunch cooked by the local people. Selva can help you choose how to get the best out of the day. He dropped me back at 4 PM and I had some extra areas covered and took some long time in each spot to experience things a little longer and he charged me reasonable. Normally if you deviate from the original plan you would be charged heavy but Selva was genuine. He understands what kind of person you are and based on your expectation he tries to make the best out of the trip. I would give my highest recommendation in choosing his Jeep trip if you wanted a 1or 2 day sight-seeing in Pollachi . Bonus : 1. Sitting inside all open Gypsy you could feel the fresh air splicing your body 2. The Gypsy is in good condition, I am 6.1 ft tall and I had no troubles. 3. Selva can suggest you some reasonable budget hotels so that you don't waste money for the stay 4. He has a earned a good name for himself in this business and almost all the Kerala govt.forest officials know him. The first day we did the Valparai tea plantation tour. Enjoyable day, good driver and value for money. The next day we did Topslip, Parambikkulam and jungle safari. We are well aware that you take a risk booking this tour as you are never guaranteed to see any animals, but feel the tour was overpriced for what we got.

I must commend the facilities management team—the entire campus is kept spotlessly clean, remarkably well-organized, and visitor flow is managed very efficiently. Five stars for the upkeep! ​My only suggestion is at improving visitor convenience: please prioritize online/UPI payment options for local transport services, specifically the battery or bullock cartsused in campus. The Adiyogi area of Isha Yoga centre is about a km from parking area. This is a very impressive giant sized statue on a large platform. There is a Shiv Linga in the forecourt area of this statue where visitors can offer Jal abhishek amidst continuous chanting. A good arrangement ! But the walk from parking to the adi Yogi arena can be a challenging one for senior citizens & children during mornings & summer times as it's a wide open area without any trees/shade. So beware of this aspect & go prepared with sunglasses, Caps etc.

Dhyanalinga has been created as a very powerful presence so that the vignanamaya kosha or etheric body of a person is touched just by being in its sphere. Well, big land converted to a religious place having Lor Shiva's statue 🙏 but other than the statue, it is just a place where you can enjoy some food, have shower, and see bullock cart. Lastly a Dome, also called Dhyanlinga where you can sit and meditate. It can also be done at home for people who don't know. Try this, go back home and close your eyes, empty your mind and call upon whoever you worship. God is within you. They have SAVE SOIL slogan and they love animals. There is bullock cart in 50° degrees carrying passengers from one place to the other. I mean we have battery cars and golf cars but they love animals and want them to know that they are loved deeply. Lets make these poor animals carry 9 people at once under the 50° degree sun. Touche! Tradition can be supported with technology too, we don't need to harm animals this way. We could barely walk in the sun and these poor animals were carrying so many people. God forgive these people who are doing this to animals 🙏 BATH FACILITY - We had shower in the morning so we didn't go shower here. I mean it's not elixir otherwise we would have definitely. DHYANLINGA - the road (walk only) leads to dhyanlinga but when its nearly 50° degrees, it makes it difficult to walk barefoot on the UNEVEN and hot surface. They could have put Carpet on the foor covering uneven surface but i guess they were short of funds and also they wanted you to feel the culture. You are going to feel that culture the next day too when your feet hurts. There were old people walking slowly and some of them were pouring water on the floor to walk on that hot surface. It was 3PM and Carpet is a must for people who aren't used to walking on the uneven hot surface. Finally when you reach dhyanlinga, they will force you to sit inside dome and meditate. We recently had an accident and couldn't sit on floot so they forced us to sit on the chair. We didn't want to be rude so we sat for 2 minutes. There was a small baby crying very softly and these CARETAKERS asked the lady to get out pointing finger as if she made a huge mistake. If they can't respect humanity, what good will come of anything they practice in life. We saw that and immediately stood up. 2 of them tried blocking our way. Well, just to be clear, We bow to God only and there was no God here. We are not slaves they need to get this to their heads. We left instantly without responding to them. By the way, the best feeling was when we bought 3 packets of biscuits and made the dog eat. He was very happy and kept coming back to give his love. That was the only good feeling we got. We made sure the dog wasn't hungry anymore and then left back for the hotel. Canteens are everywhere so don't worry if you miss one. There are more on the way. Also phones were not allowed but we noticed some of them carrying it quietly with them. The deposit box is safe. They take your photo and phone number. So nothing to worry about.

Visited this temple during our coimbatore visit, this temple was suggested by Anandas hotel manager. The temple is located 12-15kms from coimbatore city. The Vinayagar idol is about 6ft tall and looks magnificent. The entire temple gives you a Devine feeling. There is a small garden and a marriage area inside the temple. Parking is available for 3 to 4 cars, there are shops to buy pooja items as well. this temple is located under the flyover and has continuous vehicle movement. This temple is special because many new bike or car buyers get their pooja done here. Many devotees also perform dristi removal ritual with coconut here. Nice place to add to your coimbatore list.

Located about half an hour’s drive from Coimbatore, Eachanari Vinayagar Temple is one of the oldest temples in the area, dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM (straight - no break), and there are regular poojas throughout the day. According to legend, the idol was originally being taken to the Pateeswarar Temple in Perur from Madhurai, but the cart broke down near Eachanari. The idol became embedded in the soil, which devotees interpret as a divine sign, leading to the construction of the temple around it. The temple has undergone several significant updates over the years, with the first Kumbabhishekam held in 1977, and photographs from the ceremony are displayed at the temple. How to reach: • By car/taxi: It is about 12 km from Coimbatore city and takes roughly 30 minutes. (I was driving from Kerala via NH544 and NH968 to reach the temple) Note that the temple is located right by the roadside under a flyover, so parking can be challenging. • Public transport: Buses and taxis are available from Coimbatore, which is often more convenient due to traffic and limited parking.

Peaceful and well-maintained temple Visited the Murugan Temple in Coimbatore and had a really calming experience. The temple is clean, well-organized, and has a serene atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a spiritual break.

We will visit here atleast once in a month. You will find peace here. Situated in the hills, if you plan to visit the temple , and if you plan use the steps , you need to reach there before 5pm. Steps are closed after 5pm on all days due to elephants and chetah movement. Two wheelers or four wheelers are not allowed after 7 pm during weekdays and after 5 pm during weekends as well as festival seasons. Four wheelers are not allowed after 5 pm on any day. They have there own small buses carrying from hill bottom to top. But they too stop after 7 pm. Temple closes around 8 to 8.30 pm after Pooja's.

This temple is around 25 kilometres from Coimbatore, the entry fee to hill for car is 30 Rs. This place having limited car parking near the temple, so sometimes becomes difficult to get car parking here. There is a toilet facility there, the cleanliness is average. You have to climb few steps around 100 to reach the temple, there are two line for darshana one general darshana line and second one is special darshana line, the charges for special Darshana is 50 Rs. Per person. The temple situated at the foothills and surrounded by hills, it's a very spiritual experience to visit this temple. From the temple you can see bird view of Coimbatore city.

We visited the temple on a Friday. On that day, cars were not allowed to go up the hill due to the Krithigai festival, but vehicles with political flags were still permitted. If you are a common devotee, you’ll have to wait longer and face some struggle to get a darshan. Temple buses are available to take devotees up the hill near the temple, but you still need to climb a few steps to reach the main shrine. Senior citizens, patients, and differently-abled people find it difficult to manage this climb. Otherwise, the temple is clean and well-maintained, and some development work is in progress. It would be good if the Government or HR&CE department could improve facilities to help senior citizens and differently-abled devotees reach the temple more easily.

Went to this temple during my first visit to Coimbatore. This temple is located 15km from the main city of Coimbatore. The temple is at the base of the hills of western ghats. It is said to be over a 1000yrs old temple with visitors coming from all over India. I went on Friday evening, the experience of going to the temple was not pleasant as we had to wait at the foothills for more than 1 hrs just to go to the top of the hill. There are people manning the entrance of foothill with security. The stop vehicle movement and charge 20rs for parking. The foothills to the entrance closes at 7pm, even local bus service to the top closes at 7pm. Once you go to the hilltop, Darshan is available until 8:30pm. The place has not developed much. Lots of inconvenience for visitors. No proper parking, lack of basic amenities like public toilet, drinking water etc. Very limited shops near the temple. The only good thing is having darshan of Lord Murugan. We were lucky to see Abhishekam of Muruga as well at 8pm. Apart from that the place doesn't give a good temple atmosphere or a serene experience. Govt must take up the task of developing the place at foothills with hotels and shops for visitors. May be due to forest area and western ghats they might have restricted the development activities also. There are elephant movement at stairways when going towards the hilltop. Please be careful and do not litter the place. Try visiting during morning hours on weekdays for a better experience. Om Muruga. Vetrivel Muruganukku Arogara.

The temple is located in the western ghats, we need to climb above 250steps to see the Muruga, Shivan is on the top above 30 steps. It gives peace of mind while visiting the temples. This place's maintenance was good. They have pure drinking water, daily Ananadnam free tokens is given after 12 PM. The crowd was less at 08 - 10AM & crowded on an auspicious day. Prasadham for devotee's is available. It is one of the famous temple of Lord Murugan . Mostly LESS crowded all the time. The temple is very pleasing at hill top vibes. The car parking is available at Ground. There are one shop nearby outside the temple entrance. It is a must visit one for everyone and you will get blessings. Public transport is not much available. Patience plays the vital role of worshiping any temple unless you're blessed .There is no ticket. Some more amenities can be arranged.

Beautiful tiny temple at a hill top. You would need to climb close to 200 steps to reach top. From there climb another 30 steps to reach Sivan sannathi which is the top most point. The views from atop is gorgeous and splendid. There's also a huge carpark area.

The place which lifts up your mindset. So far it's clean because of less crowd. Treat your trash right. Be responsible and just co-exist with the birds and animals without creating disturbances.

Amazing view, awesome climate on September, enjoyed well. Clear view of Catherine Water Falls. Passing clouds and view of tea estate is very nice. Carry your own food. Snacks are too cost. Monkeys are at high. Take care your bags and things.

Awesome view, but super crowded on weekends. The weather here is always excellent. In the monsoons, you'll be able to see a decent number of waterfalls, unfortunately we visited in summer. Watch out for touts trying to sell you "parking tickets" as parking here is free. The entry charge is also minimal, buy tickets at the counter only.

The way towards dolphins nose is really awsum. You will enjoy the ride. You can sit here and have a tea or coffee. There are many shops nearby . The entry fee here is 20. There are many monkeys. I have seen people buying chocolates and then the monkeys snatch it from them.so be aware of that fact. The view sometimes can be full of clouds but its worth it to go here. There is a viewpoint from where you can capture great pictures.

Place is surrounded by good scenic beauty.. the drive to this place is full of tea gardens and lush green trees and plants. The road is narrow and parking space is very less, so may take lot of time during peak season to reach this destination.

Very beautiful scenic place. U can see a narrow water fall on other side of view point. Beware of monkeys they stole food. If you are going during public holidays or season try to reach early else parking is a problem. This point is at dead end of road.

In dolphin nose you don’t have much thing to do and see. But you will definitely enjoy the drive to this place. It’s going through forest, tea estate, water falls and many more. Roads are maintained well and not commercialised at all. So we can enjoy the real beauty of nature in a chilled weather. There’s 5 tourists points on the way. So stop everywhere and enjoy nature. Go to this place in the morning or in evening, have fun with family and friends.

If you reach the place early in the morning (around 8-10 am) you'll get to see mesmerizing view throughout your journey. There are very narrow lanes at some points. Be careful. The view from Dolphin Nose is amazing. You should plan your trip after June so that you can see the Catherine Falls in its total beauty.

Chennimalai murugan temple is one of the oldest temples in Tamilnadu. Situated above a hillock. You can either go by walk, government bus by prvate cars and bikes. Neat parking available. There is a siddhar hut behind the main temple. They have been renovating the temple now and then. So neatly maintained.

If you are planning to visit via public transport from erode there is direct bus. If not there is a bus from kangayam to perundurai vice versa. More than 1200 steps. There is also bus facility available for top but atleast 15 members should opt for that to use bus facility. If you are lucky you can see peacock.

Visited on weekday late morning Not much of crowd. So dharisanam was peaceful Reaching the hill top was Quick and easy if you have 4 wheeler or 2 wheeler Parking space is available in plenty. Not much of waiting time anywhere But it could change on weekends or auspicious days. The new white reflective paint on the outer walkway area is a blessing saves us from the hot surface while walking Temple and the hill top view is so peaceful best time would be morning before 9 and evening from 5 so you can avoid the scorching heat. Monkeys are there and they look for food People are still feeding monkeys thinking they are being kind but actually they are making their life miserable it's very sad to see their condition.

Also you have temple buses which takes you from city to hill top. If you want to see Nagaraja (photo i have attached) then you have small road which reaches to that place directly from city(please do ask the locals they will help you)

One of the world famous Sri Anjaneya temples which is open to the sky. People can worship the lord for free and the statue will be easily visible from the main entrance. Lord Vinayagar temple is situated at the entrance on the right side. Betel leaf 🌿 garland is offered for prayers to the lord. Limited parking 🅿️ facilities only available. During my recent journey to Namakkal, I had the privilege of visiting the awe-inspiring Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple, renowned for its 18-foot tall monolithic statue of Lord Hanuman—one of the tallest in South.

This temple is of a large sized boon giving Anjaneya in standing posture. Here Anjaneya with folded hands, is facing the sannidhi of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha across the road. Regular Pujas and Thirumanjanams are held to this deity by aspiring devotees - including betel leaves mala, sandal paste, white butter, vadamala etc. A must visit temple in Namakkal & a popular Parihara sthalam.

I often come to this temple. Because Lord and Lordess appear in majestic forms. Anyone with simple spiritualistic values will get mesmerised by the mind blowing spectacular appearances of Almighty and Almighty Godess. That too to sing Annapoorneswari sthrom infront of Almighty Goddess is really a blessing acquired through a long birth-death cycle. Further Lord Muruga with his consorts is placed right opposite to Aram valartha Nayagi. The background is composed of Lord Vinayaka, Kasi Vishwanathar, Visalakshi, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswathi, Jyestadevi, Durgai, Kalabhairavar and Navagraha sannidhi, apart from Sun & Moon shrines. And then the famous rotating stones are there. To be visited atleast once in lifetime. Not to forget the darshan of SRI CHAKRAM in Ambal sannidhi. OM NAMAH SHIVAYA.

Not a falls person but this made me one. It was majestic, spectacular and huge. We had to climb down steep steps of 1100 steps to get down there. Getting up again might be difficult. But it's worth the trip. Literally the best falls in Tamil Nadu imo.

However, reaching the falls is “not for the faint-hearted!” The descent involves “around 1,200 steep steps”, and while the views along the way are stunning, the climb down (and especially back up) is quite challenging. The steps can be slippery, so wearing “good trekking shoes” is a must. There are a few resting spots along the way, but be prepared for a strenuous workout. If you’re not used to long treks, take it slow and carry enough water. Once you reach the bottom, the sight of the “powerful waterfall” makes every step worth it! The pool at the base is perfect for a refreshing dip, though the currents can be strong, so caution is needed. The untouched beauty of the place makes it feel like a secret escape from the world. Tips for future visitors: ✅ Start early to avoid the midday heat. ✅ Carry snacks, water, and a change of clothes. ✅ Wear “non-slip shoes” the steps can be treacherous. ✅ If you have knee or mobility issues, reconsider the trek. It has 1008 Shiva lingams arranged such that 1007 surround a central lingam, with a statue of Nandi in front. On the hilltop, the main shrine houses Sri Umaiyambigai Samedha Sri Arunachala Sundareswara. The temple is located on Salem’s bypass road, in Ariyanoor, about 14 km from Salem city centre. A Serene and Divine Discovery in Salem !! I truly regret having missed this divine place during my previous travels through Salem. This is a serene and peaceful location, nestled amidst nature and adorned with numerous Shiva Lingas, offering a truly calming and spiritually enriching experience. The temple provides convenient car parking with two options. You can either park at the bottom and enjoy a peaceful walk up the small hill, or take the Vinayaka Missions entrance to drive directly to the top. I highly recommend starting from the bottom, parking your vehicle, and beginning your ascent from the Vinayagar shrine. This place is a beautiful confluence of faiths, featuring shrines for all in one location. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and divine, filling you with a sense of tranquility and good vibes. When you're traveling through Salem, I urge you to take the time to visit this spot. You will be pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking views and the powerful, positive energy of the place.

The campus is clean, signage is clear, and darshan usually moves smoothly. Families and seniors will appreciate the benches and shaded stretches; kids get excited spotting the numbered lingams. What I liked: calm priests, tidy prakarams, and the satisfying “parikrama” loop where you can complete a quiet round of prayer without jostle. Plenty of photo-worthy angles in the open courtyard (avoid the sanctum for photos). Good to know: mornings and late evenings are cooler; afternoons can be hot in the open areas—carry water. Parking is straightforward near the entrance. Dress modestly, and keep small change/UPI handy for archana/prasadam. Tip: do one slow clockwise round touching each pillar/lingam cluster with your right hand—it turns the visit into a mindful walk. Secret tip: after the main darshan, stand a few minutes at the far end of the courtyard and look back toward the central shrine—the symmetry of the 1008 lingams lining up to the sanctum is the most serene frame of the temple. 🙏

The unique part is that it’s a drive-in temple, you can take your vehicle inside and go around for darshan. Very peaceful, clean, and well maintained with a beautiful hill view.”

1008 Shiva Linga & Rajarajeshwari temple is a deeply spiritual and serene temple located on a tranquil hillside in Ariyanur near Salem Tamilnadu. The main attraction is the truly unique collection of 1008 Shiva lingams. Each lingam is accompanied by its own Nandi, creating a visually stunning spectacle. The location is also accessible via public transport from Salem's New Bus Stand it takes around 20 minutes to reach on a very reasonable fare of just 11 INR one way.

Ok to reach the fall, you have to go down along the mountain side. The down and up walk is not for everyone, specially if you have senior people or people with breathing issues. When we reached the bottom to the waterfall, half of us were having trembling legs. The waterfall in itself is pretty but it was very crowded..maybe due to it being Sunday.

Please read the review completely before visiting this place. Its definitely a must visit falls in Yercaud but with caveats. You will need to go down 250 steps (yes, we counted) to reach the falls. The fun part is we thought the ascent might be the problem but we, both in our early 30s, started having shaky legs just after going down around 200 steps. Thankfully there is a shop by a lovely lady there and she has glucose drinks and snacks etc. We got two drinks and thats when we got a little stable. So if you are travelling, please have some glucose drinks, juices, sweets, water, towel, slippers etc handy. Please ensure you dont dispose any waste plastics or other items. Lets be mindful of the environment. There are also monkeys there so if you are having eatables, be very careful. Please also check if there is water in the falls in advance, depending on what time of the year you visit. If you are travelling with elders, please consider the the travel down and then up very carefully. People with knee pain etc might find it very difficult. The route is also a little narrow. Once you reach the falls, all that hard work is worth it. There were people standing right under the falls and some who were sitting on the sides. Its a bit slippery and hence need to be really careful. As is all waterfalls, if you are traveling during rainy seasons, be very careful of sudden water flows. There is ample parking available and its paid. They charge around 50. Wouldnt say it very well maintained but still works. There might also be some paid services that take you to the bottom of the falls in a jeep. Please check if you would want to explore that as well

Such a splendid waterfall hidden deep in the woods of Yercaud! The place is completely calm and peaceful. You can take a walk from the lake to the falls if you enjoy strolling. The experience was truly extraordinary. It wasn’t very crowded. The best time to visit is early in the morning. We went around 6 a.m., took a bath in the falls, and came back. No entry tickets are required; charges apply only for vehicles.

This waterfall is located in a deep forest and a good downhill trekking is required to reach the fall. The steps are big and uneven at places. There's also an option to take the jeep ride to and fro which in itself is a solid thrilling off-roading experience at just Rs. 100 per person. The waterfall was just average.

Accessibility: Reaching the falls is relatively easy, but the return journey can be quite challenging. The climb back involves a steep set of steps that require good stamina and physical fitness. The Falls was good. You have to take 200 steps to reach the Falls. The path the Falls takes will be too steep and should be careful while going down. Inbetween the steel steps placed was not maintained properly and was broken in between.

A scenic beauty place in Yercaud. You need to walk almost 250 steps down to reach to the falls and coming up will give you a trecking experience. The climate was awesome in November

There is a parking area available, though they do collect parking charges. The area is quite spacious, which is a plus. That said, it's a bit surprising to see parking fees being collected at a natural and spiritual site like this. Overall, if you're in Yercaud, don't miss Shevaroyan Temple—come for the temple, stay for the views, and leave with a sense of calm and awe.

It’s divine place. Cave temple. I don’t know it’s true or not person inside in the cave temple there is a cave route behind the statue which to lead to thalaivasal. Nice drive to hill top, good view point, you can get local grown spices, herb soup is must try. Overall is good

I like to walk on this vast expanse of flat ground. It's so breezy. The sunset was great This is turning out to be the go-to place for open drinking as evidenced by the numerous alcohol bottles and plastic cups strewn around. Dicky- bars are the in thing and it is not safe anymore to go out with women and children. Will the Yercaud Municipality think of cleaning up the place. Even the dustbin provided are overflowing. Will the Police atleast prevent public drinking in open spaces

One of the best view point in yercaud is shevaroyan temple view. U have very ancit temple with cave. After that view point and Thantoori Tea, games, and dont miss the soup near by temple . Which is avilable only in yercaud. Taste like goat leg soup.

It's a pleasant experience visiting this temple on every trip to Yercaud. I usually visit on my last day while returning. You can get nice clicks on the view point to which you can drive up to. If you are with family, no need to walk all the way. Sadly our beloved fellow Indians throw all kinds of garbage in that place from plastics to glass bottles. Something to be cautious about if you are with kids. The temple experience is pleasant and if you are tall at 6ft like me you have to crouch a bit to get in the cave. Nevertheless, it's a great place to visit.

The entire temple complex is spacious and well-organized, with good crowd management even on weekends. The darshan feels very divine, and the pradakshina path around the temple is calming. The temple is clean, and facilities like drinking water and resting areas are maintained well. Best to visit early morning or evening for a more peaceful experience. A truly sacred and must-visit temple. Divine time to visit is during full moon days and suggested to visit early morning. Be carefull of your belongings and pickpockets. Enough restaurants, drinking water, wahsroom facilities are available throuvh out Girivalam path. Auto facility available for Girivalam.

There are asta linga (Yama, Varuna, Vayu, Kubera, Eeshanya, Nairuthi, Agneya, and Agni) temples one should not miss while doing the pradakshina. A must visit place for all who believe in God. For Girivalam path, Auto facility available for Girivalam. The architecture is magnificent, especially the tall gopurams and detailed carvings. Very peaceful and divine place. Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai is truly powerful — Lord Shiva’s presence can be felt everywhere. The temple is well maintained, clean, and beautifully built. The Girivalam (Giripradakshina) around the holy Arunachala hill is around 14 km — a wonderful spiritual walk filled with devotion and positive energy. Best time is early morning or full moon days. Arunachaleshwara Temple has impressive scale and architecture, spiritual significance as one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalam (Agni or fire), and the importance of the Girivalam (circumambulation of the Annamalai hill). It has a powerful, spiritual atmosphere, noting that the temple can be very crowded, especially during festivals or special events like Karthigai Deepam or full moon days., but also that early morning visits offer a more serene experience. Commonly mentioned engineering marvels of the temple, such as the massive stone construction and the mysterious shadow of the vimana and the spiritual energy of the place. You can pre-book just before 2-3 hours for darshan and can be booked both online and offline to avoid the long queues for darshan. Puja items are sold around the temple area.

Visited on week end. Too much crowded. Took around 5 hours to take the darshan. Finding car parking was difficult. Finally could able to park with the help of a auto drive around 800 meters away from Raja gopuram basically it's one of the entrance. Parking fee was Rs 80. I am not sure if this parking was really run by temple authority because it dint look so. Better to take Rs 50 entrance ticket to save some time. I was not aware that there is such facility. After the darshan we can buy sweet pongal and pulihogre for Rs. 10 each. Temple also sells laddus and other items priced Rs. 50 each.

Visited here during Pournami and did the Giripradakshina at night, starting around 12 AM and completing it by 6 AM. The crowd was massive, so after finishing the walk we took some rest in the morning as darshan was difficult due to the rush. Later in the afternoon, around 2 PM, we went for darshan and were able to complete it in just 30 minutes. The experience was peaceful and truly blissful — we really loved the place. Arulmigu Annamalaiyar (Arunachaleswarar) Temple in Tiruvannamalai is a major South Indian Shiva temple located at the foot of the sacred Arunachala Hill. Built by the early Cholas in the 9th century and expanded by later dynasties, it stands as a grand example of Dravidian architecture with many gopurams, mandapams, shrines, and temple tanks. The temple’s spiritual significance is highlighted in texts like Arunachala Puranam and Tiruppugazh, and Lord Shiva is believed to have manifested here as a self-born lingam under a magizha tree. Many saints, including Ramana Maharshi and Seshadri Swamigal, attained samadhi here. I visited today along with my friend, and the darshan was amazing. We spent nearly an hour in the temple after the darshan, and it filled us with a lot of positive energy. Please note: On Pradosham and auspicious days, the temple becomes highly crowded, and waiting time for darshan can range from 3 to more than 6 hours. Parking is also difficult, and you may have to park far from the temple and walk or take auto. If visiting with senior citizens, plan accordingly. Buying special dharshan ticket for Rs 50/- will help.. To avoid crowds, visit on non-festival days, non-auspicious days, and weekdays.
