Bannerughatta Biological Park

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Bannerghatta Zoo, located near Bangalore, Karnataka, is a vast national reserve that offers a perfect dose of awe-inspiring moments for animal lovers. Established in 1970 and declared as a national park in 1974, it has become famous for its close proximity to the city limits and serves as a biological and conservation reserve for animals. The park features a zoo, safari park, butterfly conservatory, animal rescue center, pet corner, aquarium, snake house and ancient temples for worship.
I visited the park in the morning (Date: 14 Sept,2025) and had a great experience. I recommend reaching around 9:10 AM so you can avoid long queues—there are self-ticket machines too. Visiting early is the best time because the park is quiet, and the animals are active. I was lucky to see a lion roaring up close, which was an amazing moment. I also saw a peacock dancing with its feathers fully open—it went on for 10 min guess and was beautiful to watch. The tiger walk and giraffe sighting were also worth it. Sometimes jungle safaris can be hit or miss, but this visit was truly worth it. There was no crowd, and we were able to explore peacefully and finish early. After that, we visited the nearby Butterfly Park, which was calm, quiet, and equally enjoyable. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable morning. A must-visit place with family and kids if you want to enjoy nature and wildlife without the rush.😍🦁🦂🕷️🦋🙈🙉🙊🐯🐼🦓🫎🐊🐍🐢🦒🦜🦅🦚🕸️🐞🐝🕷️🦂🦧🦥🦌🦁

A Great Day Out, But With Key Areas for Improvement Bannerghatta Biological Park offers a genuinely wonderful experience for wildlife lovers, making it a fantastic destination for a day trip. The park is vast, and many of the naturalized habitats for the local species are impressive and well-maintained. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, contributing to an overall positive atmosphere. However, a couple of significant issues prevented me from rating this as a perfect five-star experience. Firstly, I was disappointed that some of the highly anticipated major animals, notably the Lion and the Orangutan, were either absent or could not be found in their areas during our visit. This was a notable letdown for key species that many visitors hope to see. More importantly, I observed certain welfare concerns that I hope the park management addresses. Several animals appeared to be kept alone or with a very limited number of mates, which seemed sparse given their social nature. In a few cases, the enclosures seemed smaller than ideal, and I witnessed some animals exhibiting repetitive, stereotypic behaviors (pacing back and forth). This gave the distinct impression that they might be bored, stressed, or depressed due to the lack of space or social stimulation. Ensuring that all animals have adequate companionship and spacious, enriching enclosures is crucial for a park of this stature. Despite these issues, the overall variety of species and the natural beauty of the environment are undeniable. If the park could improve its exhibit list consistency and significantly upgrade the size and social conditions of the enclosures I mentioned, it would easily earn five stars.

I visited Bannerghatta National Park about a month ago, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. The place has a nice mix of things to do — the zoo, the butterfly park, and of course, the safari. The safari was the highlight for me. We got surprisingly close views of lions, tigers, bears, and herbivores in spacious enclosures that actually feel pretty close to their natural habitat. It’s exciting without being rushed, and you really get good photo moments. The butterfly park is calm and colorful — a perfect little break after the safari. The zoo is quite large with a good variety of animals and birds, though a few enclosures could definitely use better maintenance. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this place for families, kids, or anyone who wants a quick nature-and-wildlife getaway near the city. Just reach early, carry water, and keep a little patience — it makes the whole experience so much better.

Last week, I visited the Biological Zoo with my family. It was a very exciting and memorable trip. We saw many animals like lions, tigers, elephants, deer, giraffes and colorful birds. The best part of our visit was the safari. It was really thrilling to see the wild animals moving freely in the open area. We saw lions and tigers very closely from the safari bus and it felt like a real jungle adventure. The zoo was clean and well maintained. The staff guided us properly and we enjoyed taking many photos and videos together. It was a fun and educational experience for the whole family. I would love to visit again, especially for the safari ride.

Bannerghatta Biological Park is a great place for a family day out. The zoo is well-maintained, with a good variety of animals like lions, tigers, elephants, and reptiles. The safari experience is the highlight — you get to see animals roaming freely in a natural habitat, which feels exciting and safe. Better to pre book tge tickets through online from their official page. Also suggest to visit morning first slot.Walkways are clean, and there are plenty of resting spots and food stalls. Weekends can be crowded, so visiting early morning is best. Overall, a wonderful and educational place for kids and adults.

It was amazing experience we went in the noon at 2:30pm for safari and it was so lively experience and kid will really enjoy this. The safari takes 45min and its amazing experience and the zoo inside there are many caged animals snakes as well. Well maintained and hygienic. Be aware there are mosquitoes be cautioned while takings kids mainly
Ann M — Google review
Visited Bannerghatta Biological Park in the morning, parking available for bikes (paid). The entry area has small local shops selling snacks, water, sugarcane juice, and fruits depending on the season. Took the safari bus after a long queue , it’s a unique experience being inside a cage while animals roam free outside! However, seats with caged windows make photography difficult, and animal sightings depend on luck. After the safari, visited the Butterfly Garden (fewer butterflies than expected) and had lunch at the canteen , limited food options. The zoo area is like any other, with various animals in enclosures. Overall, it’s a nice day trip to see wildlife closely. Appreciate the government’s efforts in forest and animal conservation.
Sangmesh K — Google review
I recently visited Bannerghatta National Park, and honestly, it felt a bit overhyped. From the photos and reviews, I expected a proper wildlife experience, but in reality, it was more like an average zoo with a bus ride added in. We booked the safari bus since jeeps weren’t available, and that was fine — but the safari itself was quite disappointing. The entire 20–30 minute ride had barely 4–5 types of animals — deer, elephants, leopards, lions, and a small bear. It didn’t feel like we were in a natural habitat at all. The zones were just large fenced areas with a few animals each. For example, you start with deer and elephants, then after passing a gate you reach the leopard zone, where maybe 3–4 leopards can be seen resting near shelters. Same goes for lions and bears. It honestly felt like a zoo with a bus tour instead of walking. After the safari, we went to the zoo area, which was okay but again nothing great. There were only one or two animals of each species — a single giraffe, one tiger, one lion, etc. Variety was there, but it didn’t feel lively or well-maintained. The butterfly park was the best part of the entire visit. The entry fee was ₹50 per person, and it was worth it. The dome area filled with butterflies and greenery looked beautiful and peaceful — definitely the highlight of the day. Overall, Bannerghatta National Park is good for a one-time visit or a short family outing near Bangalore, but if you’re expecting a real safari or wildlife experience, you’ll probably be disappointed.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden

Garden
Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bangalore is a historic and expansive garden that originated as a private royal garden spanning 40 acres. Initially designed in Mughal style, it was further developed by Tipu Sultan and later expanded by British and Indian horticulturists. The garden is renowned for its support of agriculture, conservation of plant species, and contribution to the advancement of cultivation.
Very nice Lalbagh is an absolute must-visit if you are in Bengaluru. It truly lives up to its name as the 'Lungs of the City.' The variety of trees and plants is staggering, and the layout is perfect for a long, relaxing walk. Highlights: The Glass House: It’s stunning architecture and makes for great photos. The Lake: Very peaceful to sit by, and I spotted quite a few birds. Cleanliness: The park is well-maintained despite being so popular. I recommend going early in the morning to beat the heat and the crowds. It’s a fantastic spot for photography or just disconnecting from the city traffic. Highly recommended!
Aman K — Google review
A Calming Green Oasis in Bengaluru Lalbagh Botanical Garden offers a decent escape from the city hustle. I had an "OK" experience, largely thanks to the wonderfully calm and fresh environment. If you're looking for a spot with natural bird sounds to truly cool down and relax your mind, this place is highly recommended. It's a true "lung space" for Bengaluru. A major plus was the e-cycle ride, which is a fantastic way to cover the vast garden expanse. The rental seemed to have a flexible pricing, as I saw options for a short ride. I did a ride. We also caught the artificial waterfall near the lake, which operates on a fixed schedule. We saw it running from 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM. It adds a nice, serene touch to the lake area when it's on. My one major feeling was a slight lack of a "zoo" or large animal presence (apart from birds), which I missed—it felt more like a purely botanical experience rather than a nature park with diverse wildlife. However, for a botanical garden, all the basic amenities and facilities are well-maintained. Conclusion ; If you are in Bengaluru, it's definitely worth a visit for a peaceful, nature-filled break and a lovely walk or cycle ride.

Recently visited here — it’s a beautiful and refreshing place to connect with nature. The garden is huge, and it’s quite hard to cover the entire area within an hour. You’ll find ancient, massive trees and a wide variety of plant species, making it a paradise for nature lovers. The garden is well-maintained, with benches for sitting, trash bins placed throughout, and washroom and drinking water facilities available inside. There are also food stalls, a fountain area, and a poly house that add to the experience. The entry fee is ₹50 for adults and ₹20 for children. Plastic bottles are not allowed, which helps keep the place clean. I also visited the nursery, though it was closed due to a festive occasion. It’s a great spot for families, couples, or anyone looking for peace amidst greenery. The calm atmosphere and natural beauty truly make you feel one with nature. 🌿🌸

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is truly a beautiful and serene oasis in the heart of Bangalore. It's a perfect place for nature lovers and photographers, with a stunning variety of plants and a peaceful lake to relax by. The beautiful wooden art scattered around adds a unique charm, blending art with nature effortlessly. Don’t miss the Bonsai Garden, which showcases a fascinating collection of miniature trees that captivate visitors with their delicate beauty. Overall, Lalbagh is one of the best places to visit for a refreshing and inspiring experience.
Praniket M — Google review
An Absolute Oasis of Tranquility and Beauty! Lalbagh Botanical Garden is more than just a garden; it's the green heart of Bangalore and a true breath of fresh air amidst the city's hustle. This is easily one of the most stunning botanical experiences I've ever had, deserving every one of its five stars. The sheer scale and diversity of the flora are breathtaking. You could spend hours wandering the perfectly manicured lawns and discovering exotic plant species. The iconic Glass House is a magnificent architectural marvel, especially when bathed in sunlight, and the massive Lalbagh Rock offers a fantastic view and a quiet spot for reflection. The maintenance is impeccable—everything is clean, well-labeled, and thoughtfully arranged. Whether you're a serious botanist, a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful escape, Lalbagh caters to all. It’s a perfect spot for morning walks, family picnics, or simply relaxing under the shade of ancient trees. Don't miss the flower shows if you time your visit right! Highly, highly recommended.
Dhruv D — Google review
Lalbagh Botanical Garden is one of those rare places in Bangalore where time slows down and the city noise fades into the background. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by lush greenery, towering trees, and beautifully maintained pathways that make every step feel refreshing. The star attraction, of course, is the iconic Glass House, which looks stunning whether you visit in the quiet mornings or during the flower shows. The variety of plants—from vibrant flowers to rare species—adds so much charm, and you can easily spend hours exploring different corners without even realizing it. What I love most is the peaceful vibe. Whether you're going for a morning walk, photography, or just a break from daily routine, Lalbagh never disappoints. The lake inside the garden is another calming spot, perfect for sitting by the water and watching birds. It can get slightly crowded on weekends, but the garden is big enough to always find a quiet nook for yourself. The entry fee is minimal, and the overall experience feels priceless compared to the serenity you get. Overall, Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a must-visit—beautiful, calming, and truly refreshing. A little green paradise right in the heart of Bangalore.

It was a beautiful experience. The day was 🌞 I went with my family to explore the beauty of this huge botanical garden that has flora species dating back to hundreds of years ago. Enchanting. ❤️😇 We took the ride for 45 mins which is charged ₹100 per person. The guide thoroughly took us to different locations of the botanical garden taking small stops at specific points. Overall it was a nice experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the place. Recommended to family and friends. ✨

One of the prettiest garden I have ever visited. So beautiful, peaceful and huge. Our first option was Cubbon Park due to its ratings but when I visited this instead, I was glad. It's really beautiful! The way everything is maintained there is very pleasant. The whole area around this park is so cool due to the trees in the garden. Very less pollution and lot of things to do😍

Hindu temple

The ISKCON temple in Bangalore, located in Rajaji Nagar, is a magnificent tribute to Lord Krishna. The temple was built on a 7-acre campus and took 6 years to complete. Designed by Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, the architecture features a stunning 17-meter gold-plated flag post and 8.5-meter gold Kalash Shikaras. Situated on Hare Krishna Hill, the temple's Neo-Classical style blends modern amenities with traditional design.
ISKCON Temple in Bengaluru is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The best part is the Harinaama Dwara — before entering the main temple, you take 108 steps, and before each step, you chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. It feels very pure and peaceful while doing that. Before entering the main temple of Shri Krishna, just take a moment to enjoy the breeze, calmness, and the amazing city view — it feels really soothing. The temple is clean and well managed with cloakrooms, shoe counters, and parking. There’s also a metro station that connects directly to the temple premises, which makes it easy to reach. While exiting, make sure to try the sweets — they’re very tasty and worth it. Overall, a wonderful and divine experience.

I’m from Tamil Nadu, and for almost 3 years I had a deep wish to visit the ISKCON Temple in Bangalore. Finally, life gave me the chance—and the moment I stepped in, it truly felt divine. The temple is beautiful, calm, and peaceful beyond words. The architecture, the chants, and the positive energy around make it a perfect place to find inner peace. The environment is very well maintained, and the devotees are humble and welcoming. You can feel a sense of calmness the moment you enter. It’s not just a temple—it’s an experience that touches your heart. 💫 Very beautiful and peaceful temple — everyone must visit this place at least once in their life. 🙏🤍😇

It was a truly mesmerising day when I decided to visit the ISKCON temple over the weekend. As I approached the temple, I could feel the spiritual energy enveloping the atmosphere, despite the crowd of devotees that had gathered. The intricate architecture of the white temple stood out beautifully against the blue sky, and the sounds of chanting filled the air, creating a serene yet lively ambience. Inside, the aroma of fresh flowers and incense wafted through the halls, enhancing the sacred experience. People of all ages were engaged in prayer and meditation, their faces reflecting a deep sense of peace and devotion. I found solace in the rhythmic chants and the uplifting energy that pervaded the space. The sense of community among the visitors was palpable, and I felt connected to something much larger than myself. It was a day filled with tranquillity and a profound sense of purity, making me grateful for the opportunity to be there.

Nice place to worship Lord Krishna. Very well connected with metro and Bengaluru buses. In temple, darshan facilities, food & water facilities are good. Overall very good arrangements, cleanliness and nice experience. Only thing is no special feeling. It's like visiting any other temple. Maybe because temple is surrounded by big buildings; so not giving that divine vibes where we tries to connect with God with peace.

I recently visited the ISKCON Temple in Bengaluru, and honestly, it left me feeling peaceful and refreshed in a way I didn’t expect. The moment you walk in, the calmness just hits you. The place is beautifully built, super clean, and has this soothing atmosphere that makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. The sound of “Hare Krishna” chants playing continuously in the background creates such a positive vibe — it’s something you actually feel, not just hear. The evening aarti was easily the best part of my visit. Watching it in person, with the lights, music, and devotion in the air, felt incredibly grounding and comforting. The whole temple is very well managed, and the volunteers are genuinely kind and helpful — something you really appreciate when the place is this busy. There’s also a prasadam hall, a food court with really tasty sattvic food, and a nice little shop with books and souvenirs. Everything is neatly maintained and adds to the overall experience. If you’re in Bengaluru, I’d say this is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss. Whether you’re going for prayer, peace, or just to see something beautiful, you’ll walk out with a lighter heart and a calmer mind.

This place is serene and calm atmosphere to enlighten the spiritual experience within you. It is well connected with all public transport as it is located in the heart of the city. If you're driving a four wheeler then parking charges of 40 rupees collected. You shall easily spend an hour or three including the shopping of artifacts and other devotional items inside the temple premises. Multiple vaishnavaite deities are present here. Everything is maintained near and clean. An artificial waterfall and a lake add more charm to this place. This place is getting upgraded with more infrastructure as the construction is going on as well.

There are also small shops where you can buy books, souvenirs, and devotional items. Whether you are looking for peace, spirituality, or simply a pleasant place to spend time, the ISKCON Temple is a wonderful choice. Cubbon Park, also known as Shri Chamarajendra Park, is a historic and expansive city park located in the heart of Bangalore. Established in 1870, it covers an impressive 300 acres of lush greenery and is often referred to as the "lungs of Bengaluru." The park features well-maintained walking paths, beautifully landscaped gardens, and play areas for visitors to enjoy.
This park is one of the most beautiful destinations to visit with family and friends. Spread across a vast area and shaded by thousands of lush green trees, it offers a refreshing escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The serene environment makes it a perfect spot to spend an entire day relaxing and bonding with your loved ones. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities here — from playing outdoor games and indulging in painting to sitting under the trees with a good book. It’s a wonderful place to recharge, be creative, or simply enjoy nature. Please note that playing cards are not permitted in the park, ensuring a calm and family-friendly atmosphere for everyone.

The cool breeze and natural beauty make it a perfect spot for morning or evening visits. Overall, it’s one of the best places in Bangalore to unwind and enjoy a bit of nature! 🌳✨

Recently, I visited Cubbon Park in Bangalore, and it turned out to be a refreshing escape from the city’s chaos. Spread across around 300 acres, this lush green paradise is truly the “lungs” of the city. The moment I entered, I was welcomed by tall trees, fresh air, and the sound of birds — a rare treat in a busy metro. The good part is definitely the peaceful atmosphere. You’ll see joggers, cyclists, families, and even pet lovers enjoying their time here. The park is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of benches to sit and relax. The State Central Library with its iconic red building inside the park adds a classic charm — perfect spot for photos. It’s also very safe and ideal for morning walks or evening strolls. However, there are a few downsides too. Parking can be a headache on weekends, and sometimes the park gets overcrowded. In a few corners, you might also spot people littering, which slightly ruins the beauty of the place. The park opens from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and I’d suggest the best time to visit is early morning between 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM — when it’s calm, less crowded, and the weather feels amazing. Overall, Cubbon Park is a must-visit for nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone looking to take a break from Bangalore’s traffic and noise.

🌿 Sri Chamarajendra Park (Cubbon Park) – A Peaceful Morning Escape in the Heart of Bengaluru! 🌿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I visited Sri Chamarajendra Park (ಶ್ರೀ ಚಾಮರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನ) early in the morning, and it was such a refreshing and peaceful experience. The air felt crisp, the surroundings were calm, and the chirping of birds created a serene atmosphere that made the walk truly rejuvenating. 🕊️ The park is beautifully maintained with lush green lawns, huge old trees providing shade, and wide walking trails perfect for a morning jog or stroll. 🌳 There were also a few playful and friendly dogs around, adding to the park’s lively charm. 🐶 What I loved most was how peaceful it felt despite being right in the center of the city — a perfect balance between nature and urban life. Whether you’re looking to start your day with some calm, spend quiet time amidst greenery, or just enjoy a slow walk with nature, Cubbon Park is the ideal spot. 🌸 ✅ Clean, spacious, pet-friendly, and full of positive energy — a must-visit for nature lovers in Bengaluru!

Such a peaceful place to spend your weekend with friends and family. You can see a lot of people there but still you will get that privacy for enjoying a good time with your baby or your loved ones. There are some do's and dont's mentioned in the front area like no outside food, no playing, no gathering of more than 20 people etc so read before you enter. No entrance fee. Paid parking is there.

Sri Bhoga Nandishwara Gudi

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Sri Bhoga Nandishwara Gudi is a Hindu temple complex that dates back to the 9th century CE and is located approximately 21 km from the city center. Constructed in the Dravidian style, it is known for its ornate carved pillars and a reflecting pool. Despite some neglect from the government, this cultural treasure stands in great shape, showcasing amazing aspects of Hindu heritage.
After our visit to Nandi Hills, we made our way to the Bhoga Nandishwara Temple, and it was truly a remarkable experience! This ancient temple, believed to have been built around 800 CE, is a stunning testament to historical architecture. The temple grounds are expansive, allowing plenty of space to explore. As you approach, the massive entry gate immediately captures your attention, setting the tone for the grandeur within. The intricate stone carvings throughout the temple are absolutely breathtaking, showcasing the skill and artistry of the craftsmen from centuries ago. One of the highlights is the presence of two identical Shivalingas, which adds to the spiritual significance of the site. We also found the Navaraga Mandapa, which seems like a venue for various devotional or social activities—it's a beautiful space that enhances the temple's communal atmosphere. Inside the temple complex, there is a large kund, though public access is restricted. However, we enjoyed the lovely garden surrounding the temple, which adds to its charm. There’s also a smaller kund outside where visitors are allowed, but unfortunately, the water quality wasn't great. Overall, Bhoga Nandishwara Temple is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, or spirituality. The serene environment and rich heritage make it a perfect complement to a day spent in Nandi Hills. Highly recommended!

There is parking available near the temple, making it convenient for travelers. Architecture & History: This temple is one of the oldest in Karnataka, dating back to 9th–10th century, and showcases Dravidian and Vijayanagara architectural styles. The intricate stone carvings, beautifully sculpted pillars, and detailed inscriptions are a treat for history buffs and architecture enthusiasts. An historical temple also still functional. Beautiful architecture is an understatement. A must visit place when you are visiting Nandhi hills. They do allow marriage ceremony to take place in the temple premises. Most of the structure are getting damaged due to lack of proper security and government negligence I hope they will do something to maintain this beautiful temple.

It is a very spiritual and peaceful place. A very good temple to visit with family and friends. The atmosphere is divine and gives a positive energy. Some suggestions for improvement: Currently, the entry fees are accepted only in cash. It would be better if they start accepting UPI or digital payments, as it is convenient for many visitors. Also, they often ask for exact change, which is difficult sometimes. In case of emergencies, it would be good if the management allows devotees to exit easily. For example, one parent’s kid was crying but they did not allow them to leave quickly and insisted on following the full queue. Since they are collecting entry fees, they should provide better services and facilities for devotees. Some of the management staff have a rude attitude, which can be improved to make devotees feel more welcomed. Overall, it is a must-visit spiritual place, but these small improvements can make the experience even better.

Heard about this place a lot so went on 5th oct 25 with family. The parking area was covered but still slushy due to overnight rains. We had to wade through the slush. Though entry fee was rupees 20 but no staff was available hence we entered free. The temple was maintained well. The siva lingams were placed in a orderly manner and pathway was built to access all the lingams. On the biggest lingam honeybees have built their honeycomb. Photo attached. Anyone can keep a lingam in their name after paying rupees 8000 for small one, 35000 for a bigger one and more than a lac for giant size siva lingam. A small pooja will be conducted then a space is allotted for your lingam. Drawback was they do not accept gpay or credit card or debit card only cash. This issue needs to be addressed by the temple authorities. They should not expect devotees to bring this much amount of cash. Infact for using toilet facilities the person collects rupees 5 per head via gpay though the toilet was nasty. The authorities must reign up the contractor. Overall a must visit place but take good amount of cash if you want to keep a lingam there.
Balasubramanian N — Google review
Worthy of a one time visit only. Lots of various hindu deities within the complex, beside the 'koti' (meaning crore/ten million) shivlings spread across the place. Serene and peaceful yet this place is by no means a temple for offering prayers. It's clearly made out to be more of a tourist attraction. Starting from paid parking, entry fee of ₹20/- per person, directed visitors in a sequence to confront various hindu deities where the pujari's give you extra attention if one offers money. Better yet, these 'pujaris' coax every visiting individual to 'offer' money for 'blessings'. If one doesn't give/offer money, they grumble and show a care less attitude. Personally dissappointed and not likely to visit this place ever again. I reiterate, this place is more of a tourist attraction, not exactly a place of worship. Accordingly, go mentally prepared when visiting this place.

Temple is very good. Road is also nice to drive if you by Bangalore-Chennai expressway. The only thing which I did not like was at the entrance many transgenders who would demand money from everyone. Other thing is unnecessary forcing people through all the small temples in a queue. Rest all things are very nice and energy there is astonishing. Pujari told there was Brihma temple as well which is second only after Pushkar ji.

Kotilingeshwara Temple, located in Kamasandra near Kolar (about 90 km from Bangalore), is a unique and significant spiritual site. The name "Kotilingeshwara" translates to "Lord of a Crore (10 million) Lingas", symbolizing devotion and the massive scale of the temple's spiritual ambition. The main attraction is the 108-foot-tall Shiva Linga, one of the tallest in the world, accompanied by a 35-foot Nandi statue. Surrounding it are over 90 lakh (9 million) small Shivalingas, installed by devotees over the years. According to a priest there, around 10 lakh more need to be installed to reach the goal of 1 crore (10 million) Lingas, which is the temple's namesake and vision. The temple complex also houses shrines for many other deities such as Ganesha, Hanuman, Annapoorneshwari, Vishnu, and others, making it a multi-deity pilgrimage spot. That said, the experience feels over-commercialized. There's a mandatory ₹20 entrance fee, and almost every shrine has people expecting or insisting on donations, even for a simple darshan. Especially at the Annapoorneshwari shrine, visitors are pressured to donate ₹100 or ₹200 in exchange for a packet of vibhuti, which many may find forceful or inappropriate. Overall, it’s a fascinating temple to visit for its scale and symbolism, but be prepared for repeated donation requests and a very money-minded environment.

Recently visited the place early morning from Bangalore, the road is so good for a road trip. The timing of temple opening mentioned on google is wrong, it doesn’t open at 6 am it does at 7:30 am so plan your travel accordingly. There is ample parking space around the temple, footwear stands are available and some local shops around the temple. The entry ticket is Rs 20 per adult, kids below six years have free entry. The temple allows only traditional dress code for men and women, and phones are allowed inside the temple premises. There are many small temples inside of different deities along with all the lingams. There are many temple area is huge and takes at least an hour to visit fully. The views are mesmerising and definitely worth visiting at least once in your lifetime!

The Ancient Vijayanagara era Lepakshi Nandi is a remarkable monolithic sculpture of a seated bull, the vehicle of Lord Shiva, carved out of a single piece of granite. Located near the Veerabhadra Temple in Lepakshi, it stands as one of India's largest such sculptures at 4.5 meters tall and 8.23 meters long. Visitors can take memorable photos next to this impressive structure and marvel at its grandeur.
A great place to visit. We had a wonderful trip to Lepaski from Bangalore. If you are in Bangalore, it is only a 2.5-hour drive. It is a must-see location if you are looking for historical temples and architecture. The Lepakshi temple's most famous sculpture is the massive Nandi (bull) statue, which was carved from a single block of stone. It is huge. Surrounded by lush green grass and a well-maintained garden.

Visited Lepakshi today – overall a great experience. The temple architecture is stunning and rich in history. Not very crowded, which made it peaceful and easy to explore without any rush. Ideal for those interested in photography, heritage sites, or just a calm weekend ride. However, toilet facilities are a major drawback. Clean restrooms are hard to find nearby, especially for families or long stays. Would recommend carrying essentials and planning accordingly

Prashanthi Nilayam is the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, meaning "Abode of the Highest Peace". It is a spiritual center with a main ashram, Sai Kulwant Hall, residential complexes, and allied institutions, attracting thousands of spiritual seekers globally. A "5 marks" topic likely refers to a short answer question on its purpose, location, and significance, focusing on its role as a spiritual headquarters and destination for devotees.

Belum Caves

Caverns & Caves
Belum Caves, located on the Indian subcontinent, offers a remarkable experience with its vast underground cave system adorned with geological formations and artificial lighting. The site boasts the largest and longest cave system open to the public in India, featuring long passages, galleries and spacious caverns that occasionally contain fresh water. Visitors are advised to bring a torch or headlamp for better visibility as sticky mud may cause footwear loss. Additionally, one should carry water bottles due to stuffiness inside causing excessive sweating.
Amazing natural wonder not to be missed. Best part is the good maintenance and upkeep of the caves that is focused on the visitor. The lighting is very apt so that the paths are visible and does not take away the cave exploration experience that too much lighting might have done. The colorful lights add to the ambience of the cave system. The paths are clearly indicated with signs at appropriate locations. The huge entrance, numerable pathways, stalagmites formations, the spring at the depth of 151 feet is a must visit. Ample parking space, toilets and a cafe are other useful facilities at the location.

Visited Belum Caves, and it was an incredible experience! These natural limestone caves are truly a hidden gem in Andhra Pradesh. The formations inside are absolutely fascinating — from the "Thousand Hoods" to the Musical Chamber, every part of the cave had something unique to offer. One of my favorite spots was the Meditation Hall, which gave a peaceful and almost spiritual vibe. Walking through the long, winding passages felt like stepping back in time. The Patalaganga stream deep inside the cave was another highlight — it's amazing how water still flows there! The temperature inside was a bit warm and humid, so it’s best to wear light clothes and carry water. I also appreciated how well-maintained the place was, with guides and signboards helping visitors understand the cave’s history and geology. If you love nature, adventure, or just want to explore something offbeat, I highly recommend visiting Belum Caves. It’s one of those places that make you appreciate how mysterious and powerful nature can be.
TARLAPALLY M — Google review
This is known to be the second largest cave, and it's truly a remarkable place to visit if you enjoy exploring natural wonders. Parking is available for a fee, and the site is fairly well-managed. Inside the cave, the formations are stunning, but be prepared for a long walk. The path can be slippery and muddy in parts in some areas, the mud can even cover half your leg, so wear appropriate footwear and tread carefully. It's also hot and humid inside, which adds to the sense of adventure. The entry and exit are through the same point, and you're free to click as many photos as you'd like. There’s also a professional photographer available inside if you're interested in getting a photo taken. Some parts of the cave are well-lit, while a few sections are slightly dark, adding to the cave's natural mystery. I personally loved the experience. A must-visit for cave enthusiasts and adventure seekers!
Chindu M — Google review
Belum Caves is undoubtedly one of India’s most fascinating natural wonders — a long stretch of underground limestone formations that really show how incredible nature can be. However, the experience itself leaves a lot to be desired in terms of management and basic facilities. First and foremost, carry sufficient cash for your tickets and small expenses. The online network here is extremely poor, and most of the time, the QR or digital payment systems simply don’t work. Many visitors are left struggling at the counter trying to make UPI payments that don’t go through. Once inside, there’s drinking water available, which is good because you’ll need it — the cave is very humid and warm as you go deeper inside. It can get quite uncomfortable after a while, so wearing light clothes and good footwear helps. You’ll also notice quite a few bats in some sections — they don’t really bother you, but it can be unsettling for some visitors. Sadly, the signage inside the caves is minimal and confusing. There are long stretches without any clear direction or information, so you’re often left guessing which way to go or what you’re looking at. To make things worse, no guides are available, which is a real disappointment because a place this unique deserves proper storytelling and supervision. Facilities outside are in poor shape — there are no functioning toilets, and the nearby restaurant has been closed for some time. AP Tourism really needs to step up its management here, as the infrastructure is not up to the mark for what could easily be a top-tier tourist attraction. The surroundings are quite empty, with very few visitors, which gives it a deserted feel. On the way from the parking area to the ticketing counter, you’ll also find a few beggars, which is unfortunate and adds to the sense of neglect. Overall, while the caves themselves are extraordinary and worth seeing once for their sheer natural beauty and geological importance, the poor upkeep, lack of amenities, and absence of guidance make it a place you visit more for curiosity than comfort. With better management, Belum Caves could truly shine as one of Andhra Pradesh’s best natural attractions — but as of now, go prepared, go patient, and definitely go with cash in hand.

I recently went on an amazing trip to a spot that completely blew me away! 🤩 The views were absolutely breathtaking, and I couldn't stop taking pictures of the stunning landscape.🏞️ I spent the whole day exploring, and every corner held a new surprise that made me love it. It's a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates beauty and adventure.😍 I'm already dreaming of my next visit to this remarkable place!✈️

Very good experience. All family members enjoyed it. Government is maintaining it well. Lights and fans are kept in good spots so that there is a balance of natural and comfort while exploring the caves. But, many visitors are spoiling it by throwing empty water bottles and footwear everywhere. Plan to go in shorts as there is a lot of clay mud on the way and should walk without any footwear (maybe this depends on the weather when you go).

Belum Caves are a breathtaking natural wonder, offering an unforgettable adventure experience. Located in Andhra Pradesh, these caves are the second-largest in the Indian subcontinent, stretching over 3,229 meters in length and 120 meters in depth. The caves feature stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations, spacious chambers, and ancient carvings of Lord Buddha and Jain saints. Marvel at the unique stalactite and stalagmite structures, including the mesmerizing 16-row maze and the Saptasvarala Guha, a musical chamber where limestone formations produce musical sounds when tapped. Discover remnants of ancient civilizations, including Buddhist and Jain monks who occupied the caves centuries ago. The Archaeological Survey of India has found evidence of human habitation dating back to 4500 BC.Explore the labyrinthine passages, galleries, and caverns, and venture into the depths of the caves, including the Patalganga, a perennial underground stream. Plan your visit during the light summer season (July to September) to avoid extreme temperatures. carry water, and avoid visiting during rainy seasons when the caves can be muddy and slippery.
Adhipa R — Google review
The geological formations are truly unique. Inside the caves, it can get very hot and humid, so it’s best to be prepared. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to explore the caves fully. After the visit, you can rest outside—there are proper seating arrangements and shaded areas under trees, which offer a nice break. There’s also a small snack outlet nearby. And yes, the deeper sections of the cave can feel a little scary—but that just adds to the adventure! Entry is ticketed, and there’s ample parking space available. The restroom facilities were good, and the lady managing them kindly helped us store our luggage. While food options nearby are limited, you can find a few small outlets along the way. They've made a lot of things in terms of ventilation and lighting, but many of these systems are now malfunctioning or have completely broken down due to prolonged neglect and lack of maintenance.

The interior of the Shiva temple exudes vitality and color, inviting visitors to linger awhile. Local shops are available outside the temple, situated amidst rocky hills and ruins.
Yaganti Temple is truly a beautiful and divine place. Surrounded by stunning rock formations and peaceful natural scenery, the temple has a unique charm you won't find anywhere else. Yaganti is located about 80 kms off the NH near Kurnool. The Uma Maheswara Temple is built by the Vijayanagara Kings in the 16th century. The place is surrounded by hills and is surreal. The drive takes you through hills and ravines and is an adventure in itself... worth the drive. We really enjoyed the beauty of the place and its history... legend says that Sage Bramha and Sage Agastya meditated in the caves surrounding the Temple. A must visit with family to understand our Rich culture and history.

Yaganti temple is very old and historical temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside the Garbhagruha, if closely observed, you can see both Uma (Parvathi) and Maheswara (Shiva) images on Lingam, thats why the name Uma Maheswara. We can touch the Lingam if we take special ticket for abhishekam and perform the abhishekam with our own hands. Inside the temple is very calm and peaceful, we can even do the meditation. There is a water pond inside the temple where the water flow continuously, not sure where it comes from. The main attraction of the temple is the Basavanna (Bull), who is growing every year. There are many historical caves around this temple, Dont miss to visit them.

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam is a historic Hindu temple complex located on the Nallamala Hills, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples and holds significance in Hindu mythology. The temple, built in the 14th century, features intricate sculptures and a scenic location along the Krishna River.
I recently visited the Mallikarjun Jyotirling Temple in Srisailam, and it was a truly divine experience. The place has a strong spiritual energy — peaceful, well maintained, and beautifully surrounded by nature. I opted for the ₹300 Ati Shighra Darshan ticket, which was absolutely worth it. The queue moved smoothly, and I could have darshan comfortably without too much waiting time. The temple staff were helpful and guided everyone patiently, which made the whole process easy and respectful. One thing to remember — mobile phones and cameras are strictly not allowed inside the temple premises. You’ll need to keep them in the lockers provided before entering. Also, there’s a strict dress code here. Only decent traditional wear like pant and shirt, kurta-pyjama, or dhoti is allowed. Jeans, shorts, and torn clothes are not permitted, and the security staff are quite particular about it. The temple architecture is beautiful, and the vibe inside feels very pure and calming. If you plan to visit, go early in the morning or in the evening for a more peaceful experience. Overall, it’s a must-visit Jyotirling for anyone seeking a genuine spiritual experience amidst serene surroundings.

Morning darshan is especially serene and not too crowded. Visitors should wear simple traditional clothes or dhoti, as western wear is not allowed. There are good, budget-friendly dormitory stay options near the temple. Apart from the main shrine, you can explore scenic viewpoints, local markets, ropeway rides, and nearby holy sites like Sakshi Ganapati and Pathala Ganga, making it a spiritually and naturally enriching experience.

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple – A Divine Dawn at Srisailam The experience of visiting **Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple** in the early morning hours is one that words can hardly capture. Nestled amidst the serene Nallamala hills, this ancient temple stands as one of the twelve *Jyotirlingas* dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the eighteen *Shakti Peethas* devoted to Goddess Parvati, in her form as *Bhramaramba Devi*. This sacred confluence of Shiva and Shakti makes Srisailam one of the most powerful spiritual centers in India, where devotion and divinity seem to flow through the very air. As you approach the temple at dawn, around **5:00 a.m.**, the atmosphere transforms into something truly mystical — the gentle hum of chants, the ringing of bells, and the fragrance of camphor and jasmine together create an aura that feels like the divine itself has awakened with the first light of day. Booking the **Alankara Darshanam ticket** in advance adds to the convenience and allows for a seamless experience of witnessing the Lord in his adorned form. The early morning hour is considered most auspicious, and as the temple doors open, the cool breeze carries a sense of sanctity that instantly calms the mind. The **darshanam**, though completed within **10 minutes**, leaves an impression that lasts far longer. The moment you stand before **Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy**, the *Jyotirlinga* radiates a tranquil glow, symbolizing the eternal presence of Shiva. The priests perform the *Alankaram* (decoration) with utmost devotion — adorned with flowers, sandal paste, and sacred ornaments, the deity exudes divine grace and energy. The quiet reverence among the devotees and the rhythmic sound of mantras make it an experience beyond material understanding — it feels as though the entire world has come to a standstill before the supreme power. Following this, the **darshan of Goddess Bhramaramba Devi** completes the journey of devotion. The sanctum of Ammavaru is filled with divine vibrations, her idol beautifully decorated with turmeric, kumkum, and flowers. Her eyes seem alive — radiating both compassion and strength. Sitting for a few moments in front of **Bhramaramba Devi**, one can feel a mother’s warmth and the goddess’s powerful energy blending into one. The sound of *Devi Stotras* being chanted by devotees enhances the experience, and you can sense the protective aura that surrounds the entire shrine. It’s said that a visit to Srisailam is incomplete without seeking the blessings of Ammavaru, for she is the very embodiment of Shakti that sustains the universe. After the darshan, taking a **peaceful walk around the temple premises** for an hour is in itself a form of meditation. The temple corridors, built in traditional Dravidian architecture, echo with ancient chants and stories of saints who once walked the same paths. The morning mist slowly lifting over the temple towers (gopurams) adds a divine glow to the surroundings. The sight of devotees circumambulating the temple barefoot, heads bowed in prayer, fills the heart with humility and gratitude. The rhythmic clang of bells, the faint sound of temple drums, and the occasional cry of distant birds together compose a symphony that quiets the mind completely. Sitting in one of the temple corners after the darshan — especially near the **Krishna River view or under the ancient Peepal tree** — is a deeply meditative experience. The early morning stillness, interrupted only by the soft chants and the rustling of leaves, allows your thoughts to dissolve into peace. Many devotees simply sit in silence, eyes closed, feeling the presence of the divine within. It’s in these moments that one realizes why Srisailam is regarded as a place of liberation (*Moksha Prapthi Kshetram*). The union of Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bhramaramba symbolizes the balance of energy — *Shiva and Shakti*, *Silence and Sound*, *Peace and Power*.

The Shri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam is an incredibly powerful and must-visit pilgrimage site. It holds the rare and sacred distinction of being both one of the 12 Jyotirlingas (Lord Shiva) and one of the Ashta Dasha Shakti Peethas (Goddess Bhramaramba) located in the same complex. Also it is budget friendly trip. Lots of staying options are available near temple and by online booking you can get sparsh darshan.
Sagar P — Google review
The temple is truly a peaceful and divine place where one can feel positive energy and calmness. I always find a sense of inner peace here. However, the management needs serious improvement. The temple authorities and staff often behave rudely with devotees, which spoils the spiritual experience. There is no proper communication or announcement regarding temple closing times, leaving visitors confused and disappointed. Also, the Sparsh Darshan tickets are available only through the official online site, but the website is poorly designed and often doesn’t work properly. It would be much better if the temple management focused on improving the online system and showing more respect and hospitality towards devotees.

The only Shrine in India with Both the Jyothirlingam and Shakti Peetham located with in the same Pranganam of the Temple. One of the most powerful temples in India. Srisailam has a good connectivity by Bus from major cities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. If by Train, the nearest Stations are Markapur Road/ Nandyala. Depsite being the Shakti Peetham and Jyothirlingam, temple won't be much crowded as it is in the interior part of the State. Can expect more crowd during Special Occasions and on weekends. We visited in the Karthika Maasam and on weekend. It took 1hr for us for Darshanam. Crowd increases from morning to evening. Plan to reach temple premises by night or in the morning as the Ghat road will be closed midnight as it is forest area. Lot number of Hotels/ Satram's/ Dharamshala's will be there near Shrine. Please note that Sparsha Darshanam will only be there on weekdays and can be booked online. Have a beautiful Stay!

Popular, family-friendly shoreline featuring quaint resort cottages with a/c & a restaurant.
I don’t remember what we ate, or even what day it was.But I remember the feeling: full heart, quiet joy, peace. I went to the beach expecting sunshine and waves—what I left with was something deeper. Stick around for sunset — the view over the ocean is incredible, and often the beach clears out a bit by then, giving it a more serene vibe.
Mani E — Google review
Visited(14-04-2025) Suryalanka Beach is truly a mesmerizing destination, offering an unforgettable experience for beach lovers. The feeling of being there is simply amazing – the sound of the ocean waves crashing, the cool breeze, and the peaceful vibe that fills the air. The sun view is breathtaking, and the beach itself is serene and beautiful, with the gentle tides lapping at the shore. The sight of colorful fishing boats lining the beach adds a local charm, and it's a wonderful experience to see the fishermen going about their work. The ocean view is endless and calming, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxation or enjoying some quiet time. Safety is a priority here, with lifeguards present along the beach and lifeguard towers ensuring visitors' well-being. The beach also has a police center with officers patrolling, adding an extra layer of security for tourists. The morning sunrise and evening sunset are the most preferred times to visit, as they offer stunning views that are absolutely worth watching. The golden hues of the sun over the ocean are picture-perfect, making it a photographer's dream. For food lovers, there are snack centers and tiffin centers on the beach offering a variety of tasty treats. Additionally, restaurants and luggage centers are conveniently located just 100 meters from the beach. Public amenities are also well-maintained, with washrooms and dress-changing rooms available for visitors’ comfort. Suryalanka Beach can get crowded, but it adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the place. It's located about 10 km from Bapatla Town, and there are plenty of autos available for transport at a reasonable rate. The cost for a shared auto ride is typically around ₹30 per person, while individual rentals are priced between ₹200-300. A must-try here is the fish fry in the evening, which is freshly prepared and incredibly delicious. If you're looking to stay overnight, there are several hotels in the area, ranging from ₹1000 to ₹5000 per day, depending on your budget. The hotels near the beach tend to be more expensive, while those farther away offer more affordable options. In summary, Suryalanka Beach is a beautiful and well-equipped beach that offers a mix of relaxation, adventure, and local culture. Whether you're looking to spend the day enjoying the sun or trying local seafood, it's an ideal spot to unwind and make lasting memories.

The beach is very good and it is the perfect place for enjoying. It is better than vodarevu and ramapuram beach. One concern about the beach is that there are very less facilities like the washing area is absolutely disgusting and you can constantly smell fish.

Suryalanka Beach offers a beautiful and serene coastal experience, perfect for both relaxation and adventure. The location is stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset, making it ideal for photography and peaceful moments. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including horse riding, exploring the local market, trying local food, and even enjoying a bit of thrill with beachside driving and drifts. However, the main drawback is the condition of the public washrooms. Although they are free to use, they are poorly maintained. With only two buckets available for around 20 washrooms and a general lack of cleanliness, the facilities fall short in terms of hygiene. Overall, while the beach and surrounding experience are delightful, better maintenance of basic amenities like washrooms would greatly enhance the visit.

My stay in Konark Hotel in Puri in June, 2024 was most horrible. Baby cockroaches were seen walking on the beds thus making our stay in the room most unpleasant. The furniture was not well-maintained. The caretaker and the sweeper did their work stereotypically. The management was silent on the issue of hygiene.

Something spooky in this hotel....i can't sleep at night ... wardrobe suddenly opened up with sound and some foul smell coming from balcony at mid night

We were in room no 206 which is a four bedded room. It was quite big. The housekeeping staff were quite prompt. Everyday mopping of floors were done. Washrooms were cleaned on every 3rd day. Bed linens were changed on every 3rd day. Room no 209 was a double bed room , very gloomy. The keep up of hotel needs to be done. Reception is quite lazy. Kitchen is outsourced , hence quality of food and service is poor. Billing of food were either less or more. We had to keenly check it every day. Would not want to stay next time.

Golden Beach in Puri is a bustling Hindu sacred place and the venue for the annual Puri Beach Festival and sand displays. It's one of the best beaches in Puri, connected to other nearby beaches like Niladri Beach and Swargadwar Beach. The beach spans about 870 meters and has received Blue Flag certification for its cleanliness and environmental safety.
Puri Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches, perfect for sunrise and especially sunset. The evening breeze and night view are magical. Sit by the shore after sunset and enjoy the waves. It’s cleaner and more peaceful than Chennai’s Marina Beach, making it truly relaxing.

Golden Beach is a very beautiful beach and a very clean beach. You need an entry ticket to enter it.Earlier its tickets used to be a little cheaper. Now its tickets have become expensive. But after going inside you will feel completely forbidden because it has been maintained very well. You will find a lot of peace here because very few people come here. In the meantime, you will get a lot of peace by going here.

A Serene Escape at Puri Golden Beach Our visit to Puri Golden Beach was nothing short of magical. The beach was clean, well-maintained, and beautifully golden—true to its name. The gentle waves and soft sand made it perfect for a peaceful walk or just sitting back and soaking in the view. We arrived early in the morning and were greeted by a stunning sunrise that painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The beach had lifeguards on duty and clear signage, which made us feel safe and comfortable. There were plenty of food stalls nearby offering fresh coconut water, seafood, and local snacks. The vibe was relaxed, with families, couples, and solo travelers all enjoying the calm atmosphere. If you're looking for a scenic, clean, and tranquil beach experience in Odisha, Puri Golden Beach is a must-visit. We left with beautiful memories and a promise to return soon!

A bit overcrowded, I suggest visiting the BLUE FLAG BEACH , which is a paid beach with minimal entry fees bit wayy better than the golden beach….but the overall experience is good beautiful views and amazing people

A beautiful spot with stunning sea views and clean waves, perfect for enjoying the scenery and taking a relaxing bath in the water. However, the place is usually very crowded, especially during peak hours, so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet or peaceful beach experience. Overall, great for views and fun, but be prepared for the crowd.
Shubham V — Google review
The beach is a nice place to relax for a few hours, especially if you love the sound of waves and a calm environment. The natural view is quite good, and you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the shore. During sunrise or sunset, the scenery becomes really beautiful and worth watching. However, the cleanliness could be improved — sometimes you’ll find plastic bottles or wrappers around, which takes away from the natural charm. The facilities like restrooms or seating areas are also limited, so it’s better to come prepared. Food stalls are available nearby, but the prices can be a bit high for the quality. Overall, it’s an average beach — good for a short visit, clicking some photos, or spending quiet time with friends and family, but not something very special or well-maintained

The Shree Jagannatha Temple Puri is a revered Hindu pilgrimage destination located in the coastal town of Puri, India. It was constructed in the 12th century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva and has since undergone several additions to its structure. The temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu, and is an important site for worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu.
The Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is one of India’s most sacred and magnificent temples, dedicated to Lord Jagannath — an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Built in the 12th century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the temple stands as a masterpiece of Kalinga architecture, with its towering spire visible from miles away. The complex houses the holy trinity — Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra — symbolizing universal harmony and divine unity. The temple is not just a religious site but also a cultural heartbeat of Odisha. Its daily rituals, traditional music, and the famous Mahaprasad served from the world’s largest kitchen reflect centuries of devotion and community spirit. The annual Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) draws millions of devotees from across the globe, offering a spectacular view of faith and tradition in motion. What makes the Jagannath Temple truly unique is its spiritual inclusiveness — a place where divinity transcends caste, creed, and boundaries. The temple’s mysteries, such as the flag always flying against the wind and the absence of bird shadows above its dome, add to its divine aura. Visiting Jagannath Temple is not merely a pilgrimage but a profound spiritual experience. The chants of “Jai Jagannath,” the sight of the majestic idols, and the sacred atmosphere leave every devotee with deep peace and devotion. It stands as an eternal symbol of faith, love, and unity — the soul of Odisha and the pride of India.

Visiting the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri was one of the most uplifting and memorable experiences of my life. The moment you step into the temple complex, you can feel an atmosphere of deep spirituality and centuries-old tradition that instantly fills you with peace. The temple’s architecture is absolutely stunning—majestic, intricate, and full of history. Every carving and structure feels like it carries a story. The aura around the main sanctum, where Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra reside, is incredibly powerful. Just standing there during darshan is enough to give you goosebumps. One of the best parts of the visit was experiencing the Mahaprasad. It’s prepared with such devotion, and the taste is truly divine. The way thousands of devotees share this sacred food every day creates a beautiful sense of unity and community. The temple administration and volunteers do an admirable job managing the crowd, especially considering how many pilgrims visit daily. Despite the rush, the darshan process felt orderly, respectful, and smooth. The local people around the temple are warm, helpful, and always ready to guide visitors with a smile. The streets surrounding the temple are full of vibrant energy—shops with souvenirs, chants echoing in the air, and a unique cultural atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. If you visit during the Rath Yatra, it’s an indescribably magnificent experience. Overall, the Puri Jagannath Temple is not just a place to visit—it’s a place to feel. Had a truly divine experience at Jagannath Temple, Puri. Thanks to the Padhna Pujari, I was able to skip the long queue and received an excellent Pada/Pandha darshan. I could stand and witness Lord Jagannath for almost 3 minutes, which felt unbelievable and spiritually overwhelming -something that would have been impossible otherwise. A blessed experience I’ll always cherish. 🙏✨ No electronics items allowed, it should be submitted in the counter available at free of cost. Car parking available around 500-600 meters away from the temple.

What an amazing architecture of Kalinga dynasty. The moment you enter the temple serenity, you can feel the peace and divine happiness. It's one of the four char dham pilgrimage sites. You can see people from all over the country and worldwide bowing down to Lord Jagannatha with the same trust and devotion. The temple is neatly maintained. You can't take any leather items not phone inside the temple as it's strictly prohibited. Before even you enter the temple on your right hand there is a place where you can keep your footware and belongings including phone at a very nominal fees. Make sure you carry small kids and keep them safe with you as you can experience a little rush while entering the temple. You can have the famous Mahaprasad which is served again at a nominal price at the exit of the temple premises. You should sit on the floor and eat the mahaprasad. There are many paid parking space near by temple, if confused ask any rickshaw guy or local they will guide you there till parking space. Overall a great and divine experience.

This beach is also called Ramachandi Beach. It is around 1 km from Chandrabhaga Beach on same shore line. The river Kusabhadra meets bay of Bengal here. This beach is on the front of Lotus Resort, which is very popular for small parties and night stays (the food was absolutely delicious for a delhite like me). This is absolutely beautiful place and if you are looking to relax your mind and body or click some great looking pictures with boating activities in background, I recommend this place. However, there are few things which must be kept in mind before coming to this beach : 1. Entering into waters is not allowed because here the water current is very strong (unlike other beaches where entering water is allowed ). 2. This place is far better suited for family, group and couples because since entering water is not allowed, people involved in consumption prefer the nearby Chandrabhaga beach. 3. You are not allowed to stand on the ridge of sand and sea to preserve the coastal line from ocean. What else can you do? You can have food in the Lotus resort which has standard prices and value for money food. You can take take a drive on marine drive. You can walk book a nightstay in lotus resort (which is a bit expensive ) You can visit Konark Sun Temple which is around 5 kms from here. You can swim in ocean on Chandrabhaga beach which is around 1km from here. Do follow me on Instagram for more : bored_it_employee

It's an architectural marvel. Saw something I learned in my social science textbooks in person. Had a big lawn around the structure. The designs are intricate. There is a parking space outside. Tickets cost Rs 40 per head. Guide and photography facility available. Photographers charge Rs 130 per photo. Be mindful of saying the exact number of photos you require, otherwise the photographer may print all the photos he has taken. Best time to go is in the morning. It opens at 6 am. Rush will be less and sun will not be burning down on your heads.

The moment I saw the grand structure shaped like a giant chariot, I was amazed by its beauty and the skill of the craftsmen who built it centuries ago. Every wall and pillar of the temple tells a story through its detailed carvings and sculptures. The artwork reflects the creativity and intelligence of that time. Walking around the temple complex, I felt a deep sense of respect for our history and culture. The atmosphere there was calm and inspiring. The open surroundings, the sound of the wind, and the sunlight falling on the stones made the whole place feel alive. It’s not just a historical site — it feels like a journey into the past. Overall, my visit to the Konark Sun Temple was unforgettable. The Konark Sun Temple, built in the 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, is one of India’s greatest architectural marvels — a stone chariot of the Sun God, Surya. The temple stands on twelve pairs of colossal wheels, drawn by seven galloping horses, symbolizing the seven days of the week and the cosmic journey of the Sun. These wheels are not mere ornaments — they’re functional sun dials, marking time through the play of shadow and light. Carved from sandstone and fine-grained chlorite, the temple walls come alive with 128 distinct dance poses — each sculpted with extraordinary grace, capturing the rhythm of Odissi’s ancient roots. Alongside celestial dancers, one finds divine beings, mythical creatures, warriors, and everyday scenes — all harmonized into a single cosmic story. Among the most fascinating carvings are the Kāmakalā sculptures, depicting the tantric union of Shiva and Shakti, symbolizing the eternal balance of creation. These are not merely erotic figures but profound spiritual metaphors — expressing the same energy that sustains the Sun’s radiance itself. The sanctum once enshrined a magnificent Aditya Murti, believed to have floated in space through magnetic design — a legend of lost brilliance. Today, that sacred image, along with the Aruna Stambha, stands at the Jagannath Temple in Puri, preserving Konark’s divine essence. Behind the main structure rests the tranquil Chhaya Devi (Mayadevi) Temple, completing the spiritual circle of light and shadow. Though time, weather, and invasions left parts of Konark in ruin, its spiritual pulse remains eternal. Konark is more than a monument — it’s a celestial wheel of art, astronomy, and tantra, where every carving glows with sunlight and the pulse of devotion. ₹40 per person (for Indian visitors) 600/- for forgieners. The ASI Museum beside the temple, which houses original sculptures and fragments preserved from the site, and the IOCL Interpretation Centre, where a brilliant audiovisual show beautifully narrates the history and legend of Konark. A must-visit for seekers, artists, and dreamers — here, even stone seems to dance to the rhythm of the Sun.

An architectural masterpiece and a truly mesmerizing experience! Konark Sun Temple is one of the most stunning heritage sites I have ever visited. The moment you step inside, you can feel the grandeur, history, and artistic brilliance that define this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The intricate stone carvings, the iconic chariot wheel structure, and the sheer scale of the temple leave you absolutely speechless. The site is well maintained, and the guides provide excellent insights into the temple’s history, mythology, and symbolism. Visiting during sunrise or sunset makes the experience even more magical. Only disappointed with the replacement of few parts of the buliding under the process of restoration of the architecture left many history behind. A must-visit place for anyone traveling to Odisha- perfect for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to witness India’s cultural richness. Highly recommended! 🌞✨

Dhauli Shanti Stupa

Pagoda
Nestled atop the serene Dhauli Hills in Odisha, the Dhauli Shanti Stupa, also known as the Peace Pagoda, is a stunning white structure that radiates tranquility. Constructed in 1972 through a collaboration between Japanese and Indian Buddhist organizations, this remarkable shrine serves as a poignant reminder of Emperor Ashoka's transformation from a conqueror to an advocate for peace following the Kalinga War.
The Dhauli Shanti Stupa, located near Bhubaneswar in Odisha, holds great historical and spiritual significance. It is believed to be the site of the Kalinga War (261 BCE), where Emperor Ashoka witnessed massive bloodshed that changed his heart. Deeply moved, Ashoka renounced violence and embraced Buddhism, spreading messages of peace and compassion. The Japanese Buddhist Sangha later built the white Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa) here in 1972, symbolizing harmony and non-violence. Surrounded by ancient rock edicts of Ashoka and serene landscapes, Dhauli Shanti Stupa stands as a reminder of transformation, peace, and the universal message of brotherhood. Experience: Not much to explore, but it is a peaceful and pleasant place to visit. The four statues of Buddha each depict a story. I am not sure if private vehicles are allowed near the temple, as we traveled there on a small government bus. The four Buddha statues at Dhauli Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda), Odisha represent the four significant stages of Lord Buddha’s life. Each statue is placed facing one direction of the stupa, symbolizing peace and compassion: Birth of Buddha (Lumbini) – Depicts the moment of Siddhartha Gautama’s birth. Enlightenment (Bodh Gaya) – Represents Buddha attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. First Sermon (Sarnath) – Symbolizes the "Dharmachakra Pravartan" (Turning of the Wheel of Dharma) when he first taught the path. Mahaparinirvana (Kushinagar) – Depicts Buddha’s final departure from the world, symbolizing eternal peace. These statues together narrate Buddha’s journey and convey the message of non-violence, compassion, and universal peace.

The white and gold color scheme is visually striking. Highlights: - Peaceful Ambiance: Perfect for meditation and relaxation. - Beautiful Architecture: The stupa's design and colors are impressive. - Buddha Statue : The statue is beautifully crafted. Suggestion: - Accessibility: There seems to be no clear entrance or option to explore the inside of the stupa. Consider providing clearer signage or access for visitors. Overall, Dhauli Shanti Stupa is a must-visit for its tranquility and architectural beauty.

What can I say about Lingaraj Temple, it has such a good history. You can google it anywhere. You will find its history at every place. When was it built, how was it built, where was it built? But I will tell you about the management here. I liked the management here. Now see, the thing is that when you go to keep your shoes or phone here, they will ask you for money and A don't know they charge ₹20 for keeping the phone. They also charge ₹20 for shoes.. I don't know why they do this, I feel that this should be a free service and we should give as much as we wish. After going inside this temple, you will see Lord Shiva. Here inside this temple, you will find many gods. If you want, you can also see them there.

The Lingaraj Temple, nestled in the heart of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is nothing short of awe-inspiring. As one of the finest examples of Kalinga architecture, it offers a deep spiritual aura and architectural brilliance that leaves both devotees and tourists mesmerized. Architecture & Atmosphere: Dating back to the 11th century (with parts possibly even older), the temple is a sprawling complex made of intricately carved sandstone. The towering deula (main spire) stands at over 180 feet and dominates the Bhubaneswar skyline. The craftsmanship is extraordinary—every wall, pillar, and gateway tells stories from Hindu mythology through detailed carvings. The temple complex is well-maintained and consists of over 60 smaller shrines, each with its own significance. The symmetry, layout, and sheer scale evoke a sense of grandeur and reverence. Spiritual Experience: Dedicated to Lord Shiva in his form as Harihara (a fusion of Shiva and Vishnu), the temple draws thousands of pilgrims each year. The sanctum is deeply revered, and even those who aren’t particularly religious can feel the peace and power within its ancient walls. The daily rituals, chants, and scent of incense create an atmosphere that feels timeless.

Beautiful temple. Worth watching. We had to keep our phones, shoes and even umbrellas outside the temple, there was a place just beside the entrance where you can keep those for 30-40 rupees in total. Temple premises was huge, beautiful architect, clean environment, and numbers of temples are there, people staying 108 temples. It took us more than 1hour to completely explore exery corner. Main temple was huge. Locals told us that before 9am you can go near that main shivling in the main temple, but we went there at evening so we had to see it from a distance. Nice experience, beautiful ambience. I loved it.

The Lingaraj Temple, located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is one of the oldest and largest temples in the state. The main deity, Lord Lingaraj, is worshipped as a self-originated Shivalinga (Swayambhu). The temple is unique because it brings together both Shaivism and Vaishnavism, symbolizing harmony between the two traditions. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Harihara, a combined form of Shiva and Vishnu. The temple beautifully represents the Kalinga style of architecture and stands as a masterpiece of Odisha’s temple heritage. The temple was built in the 11th century CE by the Somavamsi kings and later expanded by the Ganga dynasty. The complex is surrounded by high walls and contains over 50 smaller shrines besides the main temple. The main spire (vimana) rises to about 180 feet (55 meters), dominating the Bhubaneswar skyline. The temple follows the Deula style, with four main parts: Vimana (sanctum sanctorum) Jagamohana (assembly hall) Natamandira (festival hall) Bhoga-mandapa (hall of offerings) The walls are richly decorated with carvings of deities, dancers, and mythological scenes, showing the extraordinary artistry of ancient Odia sculptors.

Nandankanan Zoological Park, located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is a sprawling 437-hectare zoo and botanical garden established in 1960. It's home to over 1,500 animals including white tigers and pangolins. The park offers various attractions such as boating, safaris featuring white tigers, lions, bears and herbivores, a reptile park, zoo museum, orchid house and an aquarium.
A Wonderful Experience at Nandankanan Zoological Park! Nandankanan is truly one of the best places to visit in Bhubaneswar. The zoo is very well maintained, clean, and surrounded by beautiful greenery. It’s not just a zoo but also a botanical garden with a peaceful environment and a natural lake inside. You can see a wide variety of animals, birds, and reptiles — especially the white tigers, lions, and elephants which are amazing to watch. The toy train and boating facilities add extra fun for families and children. The staff are polite and take good care of the animals. It’s a perfect place for nature lovers and a great spot for photography too. Highly recommended for a day trip with friends or family — a place where you can enjoy nature and wildlife together! 🌿🐅🦜

Visiting Nandankanan Zoological Park was an incredibly refreshing and memorable experience for me. Situated on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, the park felt less like a traditional zoo and more like a sprawling natural forest, offering a rare sense of openness and tranquility. From the moment I entered, I was struck by the abundance of greenery and the spacious layout, which allowed the animals to roam freely in environments that closely resembled their natural habitats. Unlike many crowded zoos, here the animals appeared genuinely cared for, and it was heartening to see them move around comfortably rather than pacing anxiously behind bars. One of the most unforgettable moments for me was seeing the white tigers up close. Having only seen them in photos before, watching their powerful and majestic stride in real life left me in awe. The lion safari and herbivore safari added an adventurous dimension to the visit, making me feel immersed in the wild rather than merely observing animals from a distance. Additionally, the aquarium and reptile house were fascinating, especially for someone curious about aquatic and exotic species, offering insights into the diversity of life beyond terrestrial animals. What impressed me the most was the serene atmosphere. The park was clean, well-organized, and calm, allowing me to enjoy long, leisurely walks while soaking in the beauty of nature. Nandankanan Zoological Park was more than just a zoo—it felt like a peaceful retreat into the wilderness, leaving me with lasting memories.

Visited after 5 years and so much has changed in a good way. Will recommend getting the electric ride ( for group) and the guide (Aditya). The guide actually made the whole day a very fun experience. Such a chill guy and very knowledgeable about each species of animal. Overall the environment was clean with no litter anywhere. Will recommend visiting after December 21st as some new animal enclosure are being constructed at the moment. Do not miss the bird sanctuary hidden away behind the chained doors.

Nandankanan Zoo is an amazing place to visit! I got to see a wide variety of animals like tigers, lions, crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, deer, snakes, and even a honey badger. The zoo is well-maintained and offers a great experience for both wildlife lovers and families. Apart from the animals, I also tried some adventure activities like the train ride and zip-lining, which made the visit even more exciting. It’s a perfect mix of fun, learning, and adventure. Truly a must-visit spot in Bhubaneswar!

We visited this zoo recently and had a really nice experience overall. The entry ticket cost was ₹50 per person. We also booked a private safari vehicle for ₹1600, which was for 1 hour. A guide accompanied us throughout the ride and gave clear and interesting explanations about the animals and the zoo. During the safari, we got to see tigers, lions, birds, reptiles, and monkeys — it was a beautiful and memorable experience. 🐅🦁🦜🐍🐒 I also bought a fridge magnet for ₹150, which I personally felt was a bit expensive. Parking charges for a 4-wheeler were ₹50. Overall, it’s a great place to visit with family and friends, especially if you love animals and want to learn more about them. The guided safari made the trip even more enjoyable! 🦓🌿✨

Nandankanan Zoological Park is a must-visit destination in Bhubaneswar! The park's naturalistic habitats and conservation efforts are truly impressive. The tiger safari,Bear safari and lion safari are thrilling experiences, while the crocodile park and botanical garden are great for learning and relaxation. The park's cleanliness and maintenance are noteworthy. A great place for families and wildlife enthusiasts. Highly recommended!

Takes 4-5 hours. Better to go on your self if alone. It takes 80 for Battery Vehicle and 120 for AC Safari bus. Staff is helpful to make you understand how to manoeuvre through. Don’t overly trust the guides. Entry ticket can be bought online but Safari and others have to booked at the gate only. No plastic bottles etc allowed inside.
Proshanto K — Google review
It's a huge one, so be prepared to have and exhaustive walk, if possible day selection should be suitable in terms of climate and have suitable clothing to avoid any dehydration. Free RO water is available at every corner. But remember any disposable item is not allowed inside. We were having usual fridge bottles which is allowed for bisleri bottle I guess they charge some amount or deposit to make sure you don't throw them inside. And snacks in plastic wrappers to be converted into a paper bag 5rs/ paper bag. Traim ride was not available during our visit but ropeway was fun. They have safari in bus (sort of 30 seater) which I find unusual and probably not so fun. We bought the ticket but skipped the safari as the place was overcrowded and safari in a big bus is not so encouraging. You can see all sort of tigers in the captivity including white one. The best thing we like is Giraffes

The beach is wonderful. It gives amazing experience. The beach offers a various sorts of rides such as bike riding, horse riding. The seating arrangement is also available at the beach. The were various food stalls from where you can get all types of sea food. This is also good for photos. The beach is not crowded and you can click some amazing pictures. There also some souvenir sold at this place and you can buy for your friends and family.

Beautiful sea beach filled with lots and lots of tourists. We sat there for hours only to enjoy the picturesque view of the beach. According to locals, this beach is not good for decent tourists after evening as there are some people who drink alcohol and do substance abuse there(we went there in the morning, so we did not experienced any of these though). We bought cashew nuts there also at quite an affordable price and those were of premium quality.

The place is good but if you are expecting a good clean and clear arrangement of beach side sitting place then it's not for you. You can seat by the side of sea and enjoy your food. But all the left over and garbages will come to you feet. Live music, live sea food cooking is there but you can't expect a hygiene. Boat service is available there. Not sure about the price.

Udaypur Sea Beach is one of the most vibrant and picturesque beaches near Digha. It attracts a large number of tourists every day, thanks to its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The beach is wide, clean, and perfect for spending a relaxing day with friends or family. One of the highlights here is the variety of handmade items made from seashells, stones, and other sea materials — a great place to buy unique souvenirs and local crafts. It’s also an amazing spot for photography, with the blue waves, golden sand, and colorful stalls creating a stunning backdrop. 📸 In the morning, you’ll find local fishermen selling fresh fish and crabs straight from the sea. By evening, small food stalls set up along the shore, offering deliciously cooked seafood — a treat you shouldn’t miss! 🐟🦀 For adventure lovers, horse riding along the beach is another exciting experience that makes your visit even more memorable. Overall, Udaypur Sea Beach is a wonderful blend of nature, culture, and local life — perfect for sightseeing, relaxation, and great food.

Udaypur Sea Beach is located on Odisha - Bengal border, nestled between New Digha and Talsari. It is around 2kms from New Digha and is easily accessible via road. Toto is easily available from Digha to Udaypur beach. Rates: 30 per person on sharing and 100 for reserve Toto. The beach is dirty and filthy. The water stinks and if you come out of the water, you will feel a greasy sticky layer on your skin. There are temporary stalls on the beach serving beer and sea food, but there ain’t any shack nearby. I would not recommend visiting Udaypur Beach, Puri has better beachfront than this.

Digha is one of the most popular beach destinations in West Bengal and truly a wonderful place to visit. The long sandy beach, rolling sea waves, and peaceful atmosphere make it a perfect getaway for everyone—families, couples, or friends. A morning walk by the sea feels refreshing, and the sunset view is absolutely mesmerizing. Fresh seafood is easily available here and quite affordable. Nearby attractions like New Digha, Udaipur Beach, and Marine Drive make the trip even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a short weekend trip filled with natural beauty, good food, and relaxation, Digha is definitely the perfect destination.

Mandarmani Beach, located in the East Midnapore district of West Bengal, is a popular destination known for its expansive shoreline and vibrant red sand crabs. Tourists from all over the country, especially from Kolkata, visit this clean beach to enjoy activities like swimming, banana boat rides, and jet skiing. Accessible by road or rail, with Contai being the nearest railway station, visitors can hire taxis or cabs to reach the picturesque coastal village.
One of the most beautiful sea beach I've ever seen. One should come here to enjoy the serene, deserted vibe of a sea beach. There are a few small shops here where one can have sipping coconut water alongwith enjoy the picturesque view of this dreamy sea beach. Some resorts and hotels are also available near this beach. If someone loves serenity and peace, then it's the perfect place to enjoy for them .

Mandarmani Beach: A Serene Weekend Escape with a Dash of Adventure Mandarmani has firmly established itself as one of the most popular weekend getaways from Kolkata, offering a calmer and often cleaner alternative to the bustling crowds of Digha. It strikes an excellent balance between a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and the thrill of adventure sports, making it ideal for families, couples, and groups of friends. The Beach and Atmosphere The main draw of Mandarmani is its impressively long and flat beach. It's famous for being one of the longest motorable beaches in India, and the hard-packed sand creates a unique, expansive landscape, especially during low tide. The atmosphere is generally serene and laid-back. While it's no longer an undiscovered secret, it remains significantly less crowded than Digha, allowing for peaceful walks and private space. The beach is also known for being relatively clean, and you can often spot countless red crabs scuttling along the sand near the 'mohana' (river delta) at the end of the main beach stretch. Things to Do Mandarmani caters to both those looking to relax and those seeking a thrill: Water Sports: The beach is a hub for a variety of water sports. You'll find vendors offering everything from high-speed Jet Ski rides and group Banana Boat rides to exhilarating Parasailing for a bird's-eye view of the coastline. Beach Activities: ATV rides are extremely popular, allowing you to race along the vast expanse of the beach. You can also simply relax at one of the many beachside shacks, enjoying fresh coconut water and delicious seafood. Relax and Unwind: The primary activity for many is simply to enjoy the sea breeze, watch the stunning sunrises and sunsets, and take long, leisurely walks. Travel from Kolkata Getting to Mandarmani is quite straightforward: By Car: This is the fastest and most convenient option, taking approximately 4 to 5 hours depending on traffic. The roads are generally in good condition, though the final stretch leading to the hotels can be narrow. By Bus: Several private and state-run buses ply daily from Kolkata to Mandarmani (Chaulkhola). The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours and is a very affordable option. By Train: The nearest major railway station is Kanthi (Contai). From there, you'll need to hire a taxi or auto-rickshaw for the remaining 30-45 minute journey to the beach. Overall Verdict Mandarmani is an excellent choice for a quick and refreshing coastal escape. It offers a more tranquil environment than its neighbours without being completely isolated. The combination of a beautiful, clean beach, a wide array of activities, and easy accessibility from Kolkata makes it a top-tier destination for a memorable weekend trip.

Mandarmani is one of the most beautiful beach I've ever been to. Sandy beach with lots of crabs and star fishes to swim with. Even in the days of storms, it's mesmerizing and beautiful. The local food is amazing and lots of restaurants to go to. Be mindful to swim with caution. The beach does not have lifeguards.

A peaceful and clean beach near Kolkata, great for relaxation, long walks, and seeing red crabs. The sea is calm and safe for families. However, some areas lack cleanliness and nightlife, and resort quality varies. ⭐ Rating: 4/5 — perfect for a quiet weekend getaway, not for parties or luxury.
RAJIBUL I — Google review
One of the best beaches in East India if not the best. The beach is has a huge length so there are plenty of hotels and you will always find rooms. The beach is also very good for bathing so everyone can enjoy bathing in the sea. There are multiple water recreational activities available so the more adventurous people can always have fun here. The hotels are situated on the beach so you dont even have to walk, one step and you are on beach. Moreover there are multiple shacks available where you can have food and alcohol. You can go to the shacks and see live fish and chicken, then choose as per your likings and they will cook it for you as per your instructions. You can sit on the shack having alcohol and food enjoying the sea infront of you. There are multiple types of hotels from 5star to budget friendly ones available all along the shore line so you can choose as per your likings. Moreover since alcohol and food is allowed on the beach in shacks you will have a Goa type experience here at much lesser cost. Crabs, hilsa, chicken, mutton to even exotic fishes and meats are available in the shacks here so you will be spoilt for choices. Definitely visit this beach once.

Henry Island is a beauty! The most scenic beach in entire Bakkhali. Just no good place to seat down or relax. With more renovation and decoration, this place coudl have been much attractive. But our government schemes are way slow placed to attain this dream. Last time I visited, they were building multiple watch towers and cottages.

Henry’s Island near Bakkhali is a hidden gem an offbeat, serene beach retreat that’s great for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to escape the usual tourist buzz. From the mangrove-lined approaches to the quiet sand and vibrant morning scenes, it’s a place that offers both beauty and tranquility in equal measure.

5 ✴️ for the nature and the breath taking waves & views of henrey island, but 2 ✴️for they business they making out of it that is soo pathetic, 😂 t m c didn't leave this beautiful place, they have opend fishing business, they are eating fish or whatever! why the hell common people have to pay for it, even if you are taking money from people make some facilities (obviously not that facilities which will ruin nature). That entire beautiful nature is full of trash, beer bottels, chips packets, plastic bottles and more & more 😑, why the hell they taking money from people,,, they are destroying the nature instead saving it!!!!

When I first came to this place after coming to Bakkhali, I really liked it. And of course, there is hope here.
Riyajul L — Google review
The Henry's Island consists of mainly a beach area with an entrance of mangrove forest. The beach side is not far away from the Bakkhali main area. We took a Toto to reach this area and spent 30-40 mins as we had to cover some other 4 points, a known package in the locality. We enjoyed as the nature has everything to offer to us. There is a small entry fees to be given to the govt. However, the actually entrance of the beach is very dirty. It looks like none cares about this place. Both the authorities and the visitors are very reluctant to maintain the cleanliness. I am very much disappointed of seeing such callousness.

Absolutely beautiful sea beach. Swimming is prohibited due to quick sand. How to reach:- reserve a Toto rikshaw from Bakkhali sea beach it will take 20_30₹ per Head Henry's Island is known for the *red crabs* 🦀, outstanding view of *Sun set* and *mangroves*. There are several watch towers that provides stunning view of the area A day tour from Kolkata to Henry Island absolutely worth it.

Very nice and quiet place. If you are not looking for a bath in the sea then It's just amazing. The mangrove trees, watchtower, and the sea will definitely refresh your soul. Usually, people spend very less time here but I would recommend at least 2hours to spend here in the morning.
