Cambugahay Falls

Mentioned on
19 lists
Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
Cambugahay Falls is a popular three-tiered waterfall on the island, attracting both locals and tourists. It features clear blue swimming holes at the base of each tier and offers rope swings for visitors to enjoy. The falls are accessible via a short hike with stairs, making it an ideal spot for friends and families to hang out throughout the year. Visitors can bathe in the Gatorade-blue catch basins or experience an epic splash into the cold water using the installed ropes.
This destination has become incredibly popular—not only for its breathtaking natural scenery but also for its range of unique activities, such as the “fairy walk” and river rafting, both of which have gained traction thanks to social media influencers. Visitors should be aware that reaching the site involves a descent and climb of approximately 180 steps, along with a trek through natural trails that include river crossings and narrow, often muddy paths. Appropriate footwear and a reasonable level of fitness are recommended. The highlight of the experience is the fairy walk, located at the farthest point of the route. While it requires some effort to reach, the setting is truly enchanting and well worth it. Due to its popularity, particularly on weekends and public holidays, be prepared for queues at the main attractions. Arriving early in the morning is advisable—not only to enjoy a quieter experience but also to secure easier parking. Consider bringing a picnic or snacks if you plan to spend a few hours, as on-site food options may be limited. Tables are available for rent to store belongings, but these are not secure. It’s best to carry only essentials and use a waterproof bag to keep your items with you. Overall, this is a rewarding spot for nature lovers and adventure seekers—just come prepared for the journey and crowds.

It felt like a bucket list to check rather than a place to enjoy and appreciate. The Cambugahay Falls is a great place. I just think that the influx of tourists and all the focus on "stations" took away what the river and falls was, before it became famous. Going there, you can see people aiming for the fairy walk or where station has the least waiting time. In addition, typical of famous tourist spots, there was a lot of people going and leaving the place, and it was restless. It was also chaotic in terms of every station having fees (for each type of ride) and those operating them are directly asking for tips, which places the tourists on the spot. I think it should be more organized and smooth. It is a great place. I just think it somehow falls short in terms of nature experience cause you can't really immerse, with all the noise sorrounding you. But then, you have all these stations that is fun and adventurous - though the line and waiting time are the downside.

🌊 Swim in the turquoise pools – The water is cool, clear, and perfect for a refreshing dip. 🧗‍♂️ Try the rope swing – One of the most popular activities! Locals set up swings where you can jump into the water for an adrenaline rush. 📸 Take scenic photos – The multi-tiered waterfalls and lush greenery make for stunning pictures. 🛶 Rent a bamboo raft – You can ride or pose on a bamboo raft under the falls for great photo ops. 🌿 Relax and unwind – There are quiet spots around the area where you can just sit back, listen to the water, and enjoy the peaceful vibe.

This should be at the top of your list at sites to see while you're at siquijor. This place is amazing. It's large but can also get a little crowded. The water is beautiful and there is a decent amount of stuff to do. You can relax, swim, take photos, or eat. There are people there that you can pay to help you take photos or videos. Everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun just be ready for a lot of stairs on the way out.

Cambugahay Falls in Siquijor is a refreshing escape with its clear turquoise waters and multiple cascading tiers. The rope swings add fun for adventure seekers, while the natural pools offer peaceful relaxation. Surrounded by lush greenery, it’s a perfect blend of excitement and serenity—an unforgettable spot for nature lovers.
LEVI S — Google review
The place is just amazing! There are local guides as well and also there are life jackets you can borrow. I recommend you go there at 8-9am, there are still a few tourists by that time.
Chaitanya D — Google review
ticket price is 30 pesos each.. the area has many waterfalls.. if you like to go jumping in and out of the water. this place is for you. they offer fairy walk which is IGable.. warning for the old ones, the stairs going to the falls is stiff.. and not recommended if you just ate breakfast or lunch to climb the stairs.
Rufo P — Google review
We went at about 15:00 and it wasn’t too busy. Just a short walk down on the stairs and it’s probably our favourite swing we’ve done in the Philippines as you can also go to the higher one which from memory the guys said was approximately 8 metres. The guys also offer to video/take photos of you. We did run back up to our bags to then give a tip cause we jumped about 10 times. You could potentially leave your belongings at the bottom and not pay at the top to store your stuff but it’s only about 100pesos to do so.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Old Enchanted Balete Tree in Siquijor is a must-visit destination for travelers seeking a unique experience. This 400-year-old tree offers a captivating aura of mystery and wonder, providing a cool shade against the hot weather. Visitors can enjoy the fish spa at the base of the tree, where little fish nibble away at dead skin, creating a delightful and refreshing sensation.
passed by today & decided to stop in. 20₽ entry fee pp. you can sit by the pool & the fish will nibble at your feet (if that tickles your fancy, i wasn’t too into it). the tree itself was beautiful! just beware there are lots of tourists here & the queue to take a picture by the tree was very long! there’s a gift shop here & restaurant as well
Allison H — Google review
Just walked in before we went back to our hotel in San Juan. Entrance fee is P30, great place to have toilet break, refreshments or buy souvenirs. There were few crowds when we arrived. The Balete Tree was truly majestic and big. We did not attempt to try the fish foot spa due to hygiene issues. Parking available.
Ai B — Google review
The place was great! It's only 20php to enter the pond area. There's plenty of souvenir shops filled with local and mystical goods. There's also a load/wi-fi machine and a decent restaurant upstairs with some really creamy shakes. There's something heavy-of-nature in the air while being in the tree's presence. Highly recommended.
Aaron M — Google review
A place to visit if you’re passing. 20 Peso entry per person to see the tree which is quite cool. There is also a fish spa but we didn’t try it due to the hygiene of fish spas. They unfortunately also had some dogs in small cages and blocked a lot of the fish from swimming freely in the water. Overall the tree and all its history is cool but the rest feels a bit unnecessary.
Olly S — Google review
Entrance fee is 20 Motorbike Parking fee is 5php There was a foul smell when we went there but the area is clean, went here on a weekday so not too crowded. Fish spa is ticklish not for everyone (lol) There are stores to buy souvenirs from
Phoebe J — Google review
I thought that I would just end up staying here for a few minutes but I ended up staying here for over an hour. While the area is relatively small it's incredibly relaxing and there's just something so alluring about the tree. Of course there were plenty of people putting their feet in the water and having them nibbled on by the fish, I have to say at first it's a little difficult to get used to but after a couple minutes it's actually quite relaxing. There are many shops outside for snacks and drinks and basic stuff. The area is also incredibly well shaded making it a great place to relax and escape some of the heat. This is absolutely on the top of the things to do at siquijor.
Jeremy B — Google review
This stop is perfect if you want a blend of nature, culture, and a quirky spa experience all rolled into one. It’s easy to include in a larger tour around Siquijor—just maybe visit on a weekday or early in the day to soak in the magic in peace. I’d say it’s a solid 4/5 experience—a delightful blend of enchantment without breaking the budget. Experience Aspect Rating (out of 5) Highlights Atmosphere & Mystique ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Ancient aura, folklore, photogenic natural setting Uniqueness & Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Fish spa, spiritual lore, serene immersion Value for Money ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Minimal fee, quirky extras like souvenirs & dining Crowds & Comfort ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Can feel busy; limited space around pool

Lugnason Falls

Waterfalls
Lugnason Falls is a serene and picturesque waterfall located in the municipality of San Juan in Siquijor. It is known for its natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and impressive cascade of water plunging from approximately 5 meters. Unlike the more popular Cambugahay Falls, Lugnason Falls offers a hidden gem with a beautiful 5-minute hike through the jungle to reach its silky blue waters.
went at 10am and there were only a few people here(mostly locals)! we did not use a guide, and did just fine. the waterfall was beautiful & we continued on to the ‘lagoon’ which looked to be like a good spot to hang out! ₽20 pp for entry
Allison H — Google review
This was an incredible experience. There's a 20 pesos per person entry fee, which is more than reasonable, and the staff at the entrance were really friendly. They explained that we could go down by ourselves to see the first (biggest) waterfall, or we could have a tour guide who would show us the other 12 waterfalls further up the river. We chose to have a tour guide, and Lewis (Louis - sorry if we spelled it wrong!) was wonderful. He told us so much about the falls and the history of how they were named. Every waterfall was so beautiful and the water nice and refreshing. Lewis helped us up through the waterfalls, some of which are quite tricky, but was great at offering alternative routes if they seemed too tricky or dangerous. I know why the Cambugahay Falls are famous, but the Lugnason falls should be on people's radar during a visit to Siquijor. It's an experience we'll never forget. Thank you Lewis for a great day!

This is my third time in siquijor but my first time at these falls. This place is awesome and only 20p to enter with free parking. Lots of tourists and locals having fun here. There’s a rope swing as well if you dare. The water is fresh, clean and cool. There’s a short 3-5 minute hike to the falls. I think you can rent safety vest and water shoes. I will probably come back tomorrow. Highly recommended

Do not miss these falls!!! Some of the best on the island, make sure you get a guide so you can visit the 12 other falls. It was an amazing experience climbing up each set of falls and swimming and we had it all to ourselves. Even the main falls was hardly busy. You only have to pay 20peso for parking and then you tip your guide. Tip generously as the experience is unreal!! You can also hire water shoes and life jackets if you need to. We just wore water shoes and it was fine. Hugely recommend!!
Kaitlyn M — Google review
Great experience! We first started with cool and big jumps at the big waterfall and after you can climb up all the other waterfalls (this is only possible with a guide). I would highly recommend doing a tour with a guide. The tip at the end was voluntary and based on what you felt the tour was worth. Our guide was super patient, friendly, helpful and took a lot of great pictures. Thank you Oscar for the lovely afternoon!!
Jessica N — Google review
Was there today, fantastic!! I did the 2 public areas (falls at the bottom of the trail and then the spring/diversion channel downstream). Then I hired a young guide to show me the other 12 falls. That tour is not for the faint of heart or if you are scared of climbing up the waterfalls with no safety gear! I’m 60 and thought I was somewhat capable (rode a mountain bike from the main road up to the falls), but my legs were a bit weak from the pedal up and I got a bit stuck trying to go up the center of one of the falls as the water was flowing so strong, so the guide had to lay down in the stream above me to divert the flow and then I was able to pull myself up with the vine hanging over the river! Got a bit of a rug burn on one leg. I’m not sure if the guide thought I was in better shape than I was, perhaps for less agile visitors there are jungle trails around so you don’t have to walk up the actual falls…? It was very cool (after surviving the challenge 😬), fortunately the other falls were not too bad. It was a very cool and wet experience, a must do if you like adventure….! Also, when I got back to the resort (25 minute pedal ride up and a 10 minute ride down), I realized the zip lock bag with my driver’s license and a small amount of money had fallen out of my pocket as I was riding the bike back. So I hired a Tuk Tuk and we went back to the falls hoping to see it along the way. We don’t see anything until we got back to the falls entrance and we asked the Tourist Police if they had seen it. Fortunately the folks running the falls fee station had it!!! Oh happy days!!! 🤗 I asked if I should give them a reward and the police fellow said no. Be sure to put this experience on your list!!
Gear G — Google review
Super amazing experience, was less crowded you get a your guide with you which makes the experience amazing taking videos and photos and just hyping you up, you wonder how much? Tipping was for us atleast upto our discression and gave 300 pesos honestly would of gave more if I had in my wallet at the time. Did see someone tip another guide 150pesos though they were quite quick didn't spend longer time like we did.
Matthew B — Google review
A lot of fun, water wasn’t cold, fit to everyone The walk is pretty short and takes around 5 minute to get there from the road You can jump off the waterfall because the water are deep A lot of fun!

Apo Island Marine Sanctuary

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Apo Island Marine Sanctuary is a must-visit destination for those seeking relaxation or adventure in Negros. Located seven kilometers south of the island, it is a beautiful man-made reserve and one of the first official marine sanctuaries in the Philippines. With a maximum of 15 divers allowed daily, it's essential to coordinate with your dive operator for a visit.
I love this place! It's my fourth time here, but the first from Dumaguete City rather than a liveaboard for scuba diving. The travel time is a 45-minute drive to Malatapay Port in Dauin and then, another 30-minute boat ride to Apo Island. For this visit, we arranged a chartered boat that provided everything we needed — boat transfer, set breakfast and lunch meals, access to the marine sanctuary and entrance fees, full snorkeling gear and guide to swim with the turtles, and a guide to hike. Apo Island is a fully protected marine sanctuary where we had the opportunity to encounter numerous turtles, mainly green sea turtles. Our guide said that there are occasional sightings of hawksbill turtles. The turtles were unperturbed with snorkelers and happily welcomed us. Our itinerary included a hike up to the San Vicente Ferrer Quasi Parish Church, breakfast, snorkeling with the turtles, lunch, a leisurely walk around the village, and a planned hike along the Habagat trail, which we, unfortunately, skipped due to the afternoon heat. Note that this is a full-day excursion, beginning with our departure from the hotel at 7:30 am and concluding with our return at 5:30 pm.

This place is just one of those incredible places in the Philippines that you just must visit. You can spend hours out on the reef with the guides. The guides are friendly and very helpful and passionate. They will take you directly to turtles, reef areas, and point out more unique fish. Be sure to tip them well. We were absolutely speechless when we visited here and can’t stop talking about it.
Jake C — Google review
Philippines is in an ideal position to save Pawikan. Found on different coasts within the country are 5 out of its 7 species. Our Pawikans play a key role in promoting the ocean’s health and biodiversity, with each species fulfilling their part. I commend the tourism of Apo Island on reminding tourists on DO's and DONT's in making sure this marine sanctuary is preserved and maintained.
Hazel C — Google review
Amazing place to explore the sea. Had a great time snorkeling here. The turtles were amazing!
Bernicel E — Google review
This is a fully protected no-take marine sanctuary, it was designed to protect key nursery areas of vital coral ecosystems to benefit the reef health an ecology as well as the livelihood of locals. This is a very good place to visit and experience the school of fish as they grow and multiply safely.

Mesmerizing! Must visit! 🏝️🪸f🐠 Please wear reef safe sunscreen to protect our pawikans and corals. Yes, there is a sunblock or sunscreen that is reef friendly. Highly recommended!!

Apo Island Marine Reserve, nestled in the azure waters of the Philippines, is a captivating sanctuary that immerses visitors in the wonders of marine life and showcases the importance of conservation. As an avid lover of the ocean and its inhabitants, my visit to Apo Island left me in awe of its natural beauty and commitment to preserving this fragile ecosystem. The moment I stepped onto the shores of Apo Island, I was greeted by crystal-clear waters teeming with vibrant marine life. The coral reefs that encircle the island are a kaleidoscope of colors, with coral formations that have thrived for generations. Snorkeling and diving in these pristine waters offer a breathtaking experience, as I found myself surrounded by schools of fish in every hue imaginable, gracefully navigating through the coral gardens. One of the highlights of Apo Island Marine Reserve is its abundance of sea turtles. The reserve is renowned as a haven for these gentle creatures, and witnessing them in their natural habitat was a truly magical experience. Swimming alongside these majestic beings, observing their graceful movements, and marveling at their ancient presence was a humbling reminder of the importance of protecting and preserving our marine ecosystems.

Lake Balanan

Bodies of Water
A 62-acre lake surrounded by lush tropical forests, waterfalls & mountains.
Enchanting place. The last time we went here was about 18 years ago. It had way more visitors and was booming back then. Now, it has sort of become an abandoned place and needs a lot of renovation here and there after several typhoons went by. Still stunning, nevertheless. The road going there was also unpaved and very bumpy. I hope they fix some of these things.
JG C — Google review
And we are back again here in Lake Balanan, the last time we came it was raining heavily and we did not manage to have a walk around but this time we went up to the tree house, the zip line station and to the waterfall, it is about 30 minutes walk from the other side across the water using the floating raft, there are some areas that the footpath had collapse just be careful and do this adventure with your own risk. Also wear a proper walking shoes as you will be walking across a drive river and along the river bank if going up to see the waterfall, it is best to visit the waterfall days after it rain to see more water flowing and also water will be crystal clear. This place is an hour drive from Grandview only. Highly recommended to all adventurous people. Also you must try there fresh crayfish dish that can be order at the kitchen restaurant, We had some in our previous visit and it was so good I mean super good, very tasty with full of different kinds of spice. That was the best crayfish dish I tasted ❤️🇵🇭.
Lea G — Google review
Very nice and stunning place. Be aware of the rocky, bumpy road to get there. I highly recommend having a SUV, with normal car you can stuck!
Stefan J — Google review
Balanan Lake was formed in 1925 when an earthquake with a 6.8 magnitude on the Richter scale caused massive landslides in both mountain ranges. The landslide created a natural dam right across the southern end of the Balanan River and the water rose to become a figure 8-shaped lake. I have to rate it 3 star cause it needs some renovation and staff. The Government should promote this place cause its so enchanted and natural.
Segourney P — Google review
We visited the place last week and to be honest it was peaceful but not fully recovered after typhoon the trail is not fully accessible and the road all the way there is a massive turn off but anyways the place is worth it
Myla P — Google review
Worst road I have ever driven, do NOT go here with your own scooter. Loads of rocks that really damage your vehicle, goes on for many kilometers. Hitchhike or get a tricycle, unless you have a 4 x 4 or an off-road motorbike. The place itself is nice though, 50 pesos entrance fee, has a pool, nice trail around the lake, raft you can use and some waterfall in the end. But Jesus Christ the road...
Artur U — Google review
Place is far from dumaguete but it's all worth the trip. One of the best places to enjoy nature. We enjoyed swimming in the pools, boat riding and hiking to the waterfalls.

Rizal Boulevard is a picturesque seaside road in Dumaguete, named after Dr. Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. It offers stunning ocean views and a leisurely pathway with benches for relaxation. The boulevard is home to historic landmarks like Silliman University Hall, which now serves as an ethno-anthropological museum displaying relics dating back over 2000 years.
Safe for a night walk. People are friendly. Not crowded. Lots of trash bins within the area so the cleanliness is preserved. Lots of food stalls to choose from.

A balmy, drizzly late afternoon stroll with the eateries already setting up for the evening. Much, much better (and safer) than Manila’s bay walk. The stores and restaurants across the Boulevard ( as locals would call it) are also interesting (with some familiar brands). If you want peace and quiet from the busy city center just drop by here for a stroll and people watching.

It turns to life at night. Never miss the chance to have a photo opportunity at the DumagueteMe signage. It feels good to walk along the boulevard. It's spacious, safe, there's a lot of street food and massage therapist for a reasonable amount. It also shows the historical value of the city. Tricycle is their preferred public transportation. The people are generally friendly as well.

Really nice promenade by the sea. The area is very pleasant with a few landmarks such as the DumaGetMe sign, monument to the Sisters of St. Paul Monument. There are stands set up for chess players and I think everyone is free to play. These areas are fortunately shaded, otherwise it's blazing hot during the day. Much nicer at night with the sea breeze. A very family friendly area of Dumaguete.

Casaroro Falls, located in Negros Oriental, is a stunning and photogenic waterfall surrounded by thick lush forest. The site is popular for swimming and picnicking, but reaching it requires a challenging 20-minute trek through steep stairs and rock boulders. Despite the effort, the breathtaking view and icy cold pool make the journey worthwhile. This impressive waterfall stands at an astounding height of 100 meters and is one of the most beloved attractions near Dumaguete.
What a happy accident to find this wonderful place. GPS didn't take us where we wanted to go, but it took us where we didn't know we want wanted to be. Easily accessible, I highly recommend water shoes because you will be going in and out of the water and rocks. I would also recommend a walking stick, especially for those of us of a certain number of years 🙂. That would help you keep your balance while crossing the rocks that move under your feet in the water.
Expandacraft B — Google review
If you want a leisurely stroll, this isn't it. Be prepared for a vigorous climb down, then back out, about 330 steps, and they can be steep. At the bottom you cross the river 3 times. There is a modest admission fee, and you'll be assigned a guide who will assist you as needed especially when crossing the river. It is customary to tip your guide. The effort is well worth seeing the Magnificent Casaroro Falls, which drops about 100 feet. The spring fed river water is cold, refreshing to those who are not faint of heart. We didn't stay long at the bottom. It was overcast and some rain had fallen earlier, and the guides were concerned about water levels to get out of there. There is a set of old metal stairs to begin the ascent out. It is Not the stairway to heaven. Take your time. If you are prepared for a good workout while you hike, and want to see one of the most beautiful falls on Negros, this is worth the time and the effort. Just be prepared.
Ralphmb58 — Google review
A truly amazing, almost mystical place. Great guide. A little tip: 300 steps down and up! At times, you had to cross the river using stones. Slippers are only partially suitable! A certain level of fitness is recommended. Nevertheless, a fantastic place, like something out of an Indiana Jones movie 😉
Thorsten R — Google review
Stunning falls, about 35m drop. However, it is 335 steps down and yes 335 back up, it's hot, humid, slippy and you cross the river 3 times so wear footwear that can get wet. You can swim in a small shallow pool near the falls but not directly under it. It was 250 peso entry with guide and 20 peso property tax. I gave 250 tip too. Walk up is steep, tiring but it is worth it.
Mark S — Google review
Casaroro is tremendously Beautiful!! Be prepare to hike up and down! Up to 330 steps! Definitely worth it to see! Entrance : 20 Guide : 200
Jonaliza E — Google review
Amazing stunning waterfall with a steep stairs leading to it. Very clean environment as guides are mandatory for safety and avoiding environmental pollution. When you’re in Dumaguete or Valencia you can’t miss going here. The entrance fee is only 100 pesos, including your guide.

The journey to Casaroro Falls in Dumaguete is definitely not for the faint of heart—hundreds of steep steps down (and back up!) left my legs sore for three days. 😅 You’ll also need to cross the river more than once to reach the actual falls, which makes the adventure even more exciting. But once you get there, wow—the view is absolutely worth every step and every muscle ache. The falls and the river are stunning and refreshing, a hidden gem for nature lovers and adventurers. This place is so exhausting but worth it. The stairs going there are so steep. Not used to walking so our legs were shaking already before we even arrived. We had muscle pain the next day.😂 But the waterfall is so magical and tall. I didn't expect it to be really nice.

Balicasag Island is a small, circular island that attracts day-trippers eager to explore its vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life. The island is renowned for its stunning biodiversity, offering visitors the chance to witness colorful reefs teeming with various fish species and even turtles. The Balicasag Island Dive Resort provides accommodation options within this 25-hectare paradise, including premium air-conditioned Nipa Hut cottages and rooms.
Very beautiful and peaceful island. They have snorkeling activities since the marine sanctuary is nearby. I hope this island will thrive and improve more of their necessities like water from the faucet, including their solid waste management and the presence of trash bins. I also recommend to tour around the island for a more upgraded experience.

Absolutely beautiful place! The snorkeling here is amazing — crystal clear water, lots of fish and corals. The island views from the drone are stunning as well. Definitely recommend visiting if you're in Bohol!

Balicasag Island is absolutely stunning! The boat ride from Panglao was smooth, and the moment we arrived, the water was so clear and inviting. Snorkeling here is a must you’ll see colorful corals, schools of fish, and even sea turtles if you’re lucky. The island itself is small but very charming, with a peaceful vibe. After swimming, we enjoyed fresh seafood cooked right on the island simple but delicious. It can get busy at times, so I recommend going early in the morning for a quieter experience. A beautiful spot for anyone visiting Bohol, especially if you love the ocean. Truly one of the highlights of our trip!

Balicasag is absolutely stunning. My husband had a great time swimming alongside a turtle, which made the experience even more memorable.
Donnabel G — Google review
It’s a good spot for snorkeling, especially if you’re hoping to see turtles and vibrant marine life. However, it’s definitely a popular tourist destination, so the area can get quite crowded. At one point, I even accidentally bumped into a few fellow snorkelers while swimming. Prices for activities and items on the island tend to be higher than expected, likely due to the tourist traffic, and payments are limited to cash or GCash only. That said, the locals are very warm, patient, and welcoming, which added a positive touch to the experience. While it wasn’t the most memorable island for me compared to other gems in the Philippines, it’s still a nice stop for those wanting to explore Bohol’s marine life.

A small island in Bohol. It's a place for snorkeling. The place was okay, about a 30-minute boat ride. We also saw some large dolphins along the way.

This place is my little, round paradise! The people here are so kind. You absolutely have to try the Mango smoothy with NOTHING added! The mangos by themselves are magical. Super romantic place to go with your significant other. Do try the snorkaling! What you'll see is AMAZING. Swinging with sea turrtles is epic, even if it gets a little people-crowded and you end up getting unintentionally kicked in the head by an enthuisatic human! LOL. Great times.
Todd G — Google review
The beauty of Balicasag is real! Bohol did not disappoint us and if you are into snorkeling, definitely this island is a must visit. The only thing that discourages us to come back here is because of the people who has businesses here. They will not allow you to eat anywhere (they you like or if you chose to be in that table) not unless to the store that your tourguide have a contract. It was upsetting and the people are rude or much it was there accent but for us it was a real slap of behavior.

Virgin Island Sand Bar

We visited at high tide. And it was majestic. The water is pristine and so clear. The kids swam around and we just relaxed and enjoyed the visit even though the island itself was still about 3ft under water.
Paul H — Google review
The Virgin Island of Bohol is a strip of white fine sand seen especially during low tide. This island also has some baby mangroves in it and it was developed since my first visit in 2018. Nothing much to do here – just beachbumming and snorkeling.
Turista B — Google review
Since this is a sandbar, timing is crucial to enjoy it at its best tide level. We were here around 11am then left at noon - water was just ankle deep which I really liked. I noticed the water have risen a bit when we left. It looks very splendid in person. No vendors and no trash. Let’s keep it that way.
Luwian M — Google review
We stayed here for a few minutes only. There are a lot of tourists. The beach and sand are nice. Nothing to do much except to swim and take pictures. I was hoping we will have our lunch here but I think the local government ordered the vendors to leave the area to preserve it the beauty of the beach.
Joanne A — Google review
It gets crowded with boats and tourists. Sandbar was nice, it just so happened it was high tide when we visited. Great for pictures since it has white sand and clear water.
Jane P — Google review
Is better to visit virgin island after 4pm, less crowds and the sun closer to sunset hours provides amazing colors. The waters are very rich with starfish and sea urchins, totally recommended to visit

I'm a local in Panglao but this is my first time in virgin island. A very beautiful island indeed. I enjoyed swimming! Very clear water and a instagramable view. I hope this beauty will lasts and will not be taken for granted by locals or tourists. 🤗❤️ Be sure not to litter. Bring your trash with you. ☺️
Fatty — Google review
Although we did not experience the sandbar because of the high tide when we visited, it was still a lot of fun! If you look around, you can see the islands of Mindanao, Siquijor, and Cebu! The ocean is extremely clear!

Nestled within a forested volcanic landscape, Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park is named after the pair of deep crater lakes it houses. Located in Negros Oriental province, this natural park offers a hassle-free tourist attraction with its serene and relaxing ambiance. The twin lakes are similar in size and are surrounded by lush green slopes of the mountains, making it a picturesque sight to behold.
Well maintained national park in Negros Island. The road leading to the lake is a bit of a challenge though. You need to be very careful and make sure your vehicle is road worthy and double checking that the brakes are working properly.

P120 entry, no swimming. Many posts said "take the boat". I say don't as you are missing out on a great hike (few rocky bits but easy grade if you are medium fit). Lovely jungle and great views along the way. From the view tower of both lakes I found a trail with steps but it seems it's for locals, a local with a machete was behind me, I asked if it's safe to walk he said "No" pointing at trees possibly warning about vipers. Don't take the risk without a guide, plenty of deadly snakes and no antivenom nearby= your dead. Overall great experience but marred by appauling service at Resto; I ordered a simple sandwich and fresh lumpia, after waiting 20 mins, group of 6 Pino's arrives laughing and joking, they were served immediately, I'm still waiting so I walked out. Unbelievable!

A Fairytale Escape to Balinsasayao Lake Visiting Balinsasayao Lake was absolutely worth the uphill and steep ride. The moment we arrived, I was overwhelmed by how rich and vibrant the rainforest is—the flora and fauna are simply unbelievable. The lake itself looks like something out of a postcard—or better yet, a fairy tale. Serene, mystical, and breathtakingly beautiful, it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel connected to nature. If you ever find yourself in Sibulan or Dumaguete, don’t miss the chance to take a side trip to Balinsasayao Lake. The journey may be far, but the experience is more than worth it.

A Magical Day at Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park: 🕹The Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park is located in the municipality of Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Philippines. Specifically, it lies within Barangay Enrique Villanueva, approximately 14.5 kilometers west of Dumaguete City. Visiting Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park was truly a magical and refreshing experience. Despite the occasional light showers and the slippery road on the way up, my partner handled the drive with care and skill, making our journey safe and smooth. The misty weather actually added to the charm of the trip — it felt like we were being slowly embraced by nature. As soon as we arrived, we were captivated by the serene beauty of the park. The twin lakes — Balinsasayao and Danao — are nestled amidst lush mountains and thick forest, making the view almost surreal, like something straight out of a postcard. The calm, mirror-like surface of the lakes reflected the surrounding greenery, creating a peaceful and dreamlike atmosphere. We took the short trail that winds up and down through the forest toward the second lake. It was an easy hike, filled with the sounds of birds and the scent of fresh earth. The trail led us to a cozy viewing hut situated between the two lakes — a perfect spot to pause, breathe in the fresh air, and take in the panoramic view. Standing there, with water on both sides and thick forest all around, we felt completely in awe of nature's quiet grandeur. The park is part of a protected natural reserve, home to various species of birds and endemic plants, making it an ideal place for nature lovers, hikers, photographers, and anyone looking to escape the city and reconnect with the natural world. This visit reminded us how much beauty the Philippines holds — sometimes hidden, often overlooked, but always worth the journey. Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park is not just a destination; it’s an experience that soothes the soul and inspires gratitude.🙏🫰🤍 Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park in Negros Oriental has been officially recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park. This prestigious designation was granted on November 29, 2024, making it the 13th such park in the Philippines and the first in the Visayas . Covering approximately 8,016 hectares, the park encompasses two crater lakes—Lake Balinsasayao and Lake Danao—surrounded by lush tropical forests. It serves as a sanctuary for over 427 species of flora and fauna, including 14 globally threatened bird species such as the Critically Endangered Negros Bleeding-heart Pigeon and the Visayan Wrinkled-billed Hornbill. The ASEAN Heritage Park status underscores the park's exceptional biodiversity and ecological significance, highlighting its role in regional conservation efforts. This recognition also emphasizes the importance of preserving such natural treasures for future generations.

Taking a boat ride across the lake is one of the most relaxing experiences you can have while in Dumaguete City. P.S. You can even dip your feet in the water at the dock area for a free fish spa.
Karina U — Google review
2 stars for the beautiful scenery. To make it short, we felt scammed. 110 pesos/person for entrance fee (which allowed you to go down to the lake), it took us only 5mn. From here you can take a boat to go to the other side of the lake, 250 pesos more. If you wanna go to the second lake, there is a 900m trail. People working there (and after you pay the entrance fee) tell you that you can take a guide for this trail, 300 pesos. So if you sum everything that makes this trip for a total of around 700 pesos! We didn't eat at the restaurant. There is no signal telling us about we must take a guide so we did the trail on our own. Obviously on our way back the workers told us that we must take a guide which completely unnecessary. Very low professionalism and very less informations provided. I suggested them to make a fix price from the first entrance which they didn't seem to understand. Be aware, Philippines is a really beautiful country, but we always feel like the people here want to scam you more than everything..

Oslob Whale Shark Watching

Tours
Oslob Whale Shark Watching is a popular tourist attraction in South Cebu, offering the opportunity to swim with these gentle giants. Located in Oslob, it is quite a distance from Moalboal. Despite some controversy surrounding the activity, there are various tours available for visitors to enjoy the company of these fascinating creatures. The experience typically lasts around 30 minutes and allows participants to swim alongside the whale sharks as they are being fed.
All the locals recommended that we start as early as possible in the morning. Since we had kids with us, that plan didn’t really appeal to us, so we decided to try going later and see how it goes. We arrived in Oslob around 7:45 AM. We had two vans that needed parking. We slowly made our way along the main road, where lots of people were offering parking spaces and assistance. We took advantage of one such service. They offered us a spot in a guarded garage under a restaurant, and we agreed that if we had breakfast there, parking would be free. They also guided us through the ticket purchase process. The first step was registration, where they give you a queue number. We got numbers 224 and 225 — these were the numbers for our boats. But the tickets couldn’t be bought yet. At that time, shortly after 8 AM, the boats on the water were numbers 80 to 90, and only people with registration numbers 100 to 150 could buy tickets. We were told we had about 1 to 1.5 hours of waiting time. So we calmly returned to the restaurant and had breakfast. Prices were the same as everywhere else. After a while, two of us went to buy the tickets. Gradually, we moved to the harbor, received life vests, and got ready to board. Each boat has a maximum capacity of 8 people, so we had two private boats. We boarded around 10 AM. It was an incredible experience. The first sight of the whale shark just beneath the surface was breathtaking, and then swimming and diving with them, seeing them in all their glory. The kids joined us in the water as well. The time spent on the water was just right, and since the whole attraction closes at 11 AM, only a few boats went out after us, making the area much calmer. Conclusion: Was it worth coming later? Definitely yes. We avoided waking up too early, and in my opinion, we spent less time overall compared to those who line up two hours before opening. Note: We did this trip in mid-February 2025. Additional note: There’s a lot of water on the boat and you’ll get completely soaked. So either bring a waterproof backpack or leave your belongings in the car.

The best experience. Whale shark watching in Oslob was truly an unforgettable experience. Being so close to these gentle giants of the sea is breathtaking their size is massive, yet they move with such calm and grace. The guides and boatmen gave clear instructions to keep a safe distance, and it was amazing to see how well they managed the crowds. While the encounter is thrilling, it also made me reflect on the importance of responsible tourism and protecting these creatures in their natural habitat. Overall, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’m grateful for, and I hope future visitors continue to respect the guidelines so these whale sharks remain safe and well.

It's a must visit place in Bohol and Cebu area. You can swim together with the whale shark. They are so cute keep swimming next to the feeder. Although the feeder just feed a small piece at a time. And they are huge and harmless. But, do not touch them and do not put on sun cream when swimming with them.
Desmond L — Google review
Experiencing the Oslob whale sharks is truly unforgettable—swimming so close to these gentle giants feels both majestic and humbling. However, be prepared for long waiting times, which can stretch beyond two hours, especially during peak season. We visited in November during the rainy season and still saw a large number of tourists from all over the world. It’s very important to listen carefully to the orientation provided by the staff and to follow all safety guidelines to ensure both your safety and the whale sharks’ wellbeing. The entrance fee is ₱500, and if you want underwater footage, you can rent a GoPro for around ₱550. The bangkeros are very helpful and will assist in taking photos and videos while you're in the water. Getting to the site is also convenient—visitors can hire a jeep, ride a bus, or take a tricycle depending on their starting point and preference. Overall, it’s a memorable experience that combines adventure, nature, and a bit of patience.

Great experience! I would recommend this activity if you really want to go snorkeling with the whale sharks, but beware: they are being fed while you swim. It’s not natural, so think of it more like a zoo where they swim in a large open-water enclosure. If you want to make the most out of your Oslob experience, I recommend the following: 1. Rent a scooter at Nolies Scooter Rental (see my review). 2. Be at the Whale Shark Center at 5:00 AM. You will receive a priority number. We went on Sunday at 5:00 AM, got number 0062, and were in the water at 6:45 AM. If you arrive later, you will have to wait much longer. You’ll be in the water for about 30 minutes. Also: Do not use sunscreen, as it is toxic for the whale sharks! You’ll be given a mask and a life jacket on the boat. A snorkel costs 100 PHP to rent. Fins are not allowed unless you are going diving. 3. After the whale shark activity, go to Tumalog Falls. You should arrive around 8:00 AM, when there are fewer people. 4. After Tumalog Falls, visit the wild monkeys. If you follow this schedule, you should be back at your hotel around 11:30-12 AM. For reference: we went on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025 (low season). Don’t be fooled by talk about high season; visibility in the water is still very good in low season.

It’s a great and unforgettable experience to swim alongside these majestic creatures. I can’t deny the joy it brings — it’s truly magical. But at the same time, I feel a bit conflicted. These wonderful animals are being lured with bait, which disrupts their natural migration patterns and encourages them to stay in one area instead of roaming freely. On the bright side, the operators do seem to care about the whale sharks’ safety — they give a quick briefing before the boat ride to ensure respectful interaction.
Edward H — Google review
Great experience. reached at 6am and had to queue for 1.5h they had orderly procedures and even educated us on the safety distance with these gentle giants. Was very strict against sunblocks and mosquito repellents Scuba masks were foc (sufficient for me) and it was a great experience. Would have preferred if they made all of us wash down before heading into the waters.

The experience with the Whale Shark Tour in Cebu, Philippines was truly exceptional. From beginning to end, the tour was conducted with professionalism and care, making it well worth the investment. Witnessing a whale shark, one of nature’s most magnificent creatures at such close proximity was both awe-inspiring and humbling. Tumalog Falls, located in Oslob, Cebu, is a popular destination known for its picturesque jungle surroundings and inviting pool for wading and photography. It's important to note that the falls may be closed on the second Wednesday of every month, so it's advisable to confirm with local accommodations or tour operators before planning your visit. This stunning waterfall offers turquoise blue waters and a fairy pool-like atmosphere, making it one of the best places to visit in Cebu.
Tumalog Falls is an absolute must-visit when in southern Cebu. Getting to the base of the falls involves a steep descent—so be prepared. While you can walk it (as we did), it’s quite a workout, especially on the way back up. We decided to hike down to take in the scenery and then grabbed a motorcycle ride back up—definitely the smart move after a refreshing swim. The moment you reach the bottom, the view is breathtaking. The falls are incredibly wide with delicate streams cascading down a mossy rock face, creating a soft curtain-like effect. The water is a beautiful pale turquoise and makes for a refreshing swim. It was fairly busy when we arrived, but the area is spacious, so even with the crowd, it didn’t feel cramped. Standing under the gentle flow of the waterfall felt magical—it’s more of a mist than a pounding fall, so it’s really enjoyable. We spent around 90 minutes soaking it all in and didn’t want to leave. There are basic change rooms near the falls, which was convenient. Tumalog is not just photogenic, it’s peaceful, and it genuinely feels like nature’s spa. If you’re anywhere near Oslob or south Cebu then you need to visit these falls.

Discovering Tumalog Waterfalls in Oslob, Cebu I finally had the chance to visit one of the most talked-about natural attractions in Oslob, Tumalog Waterfalls. The last time I came to Oslob, I missed the chance to see this hidden gem, but this time, I made sure it was part of my itinerary. And I can honestly say it was worth it. Visiting Tumalog Falls is budget-friendly. The entrance fee is only ₱50 per person. From the designated parking area, visitors usually take a motorbike ride to the falls’ entrance since the road going down is steep. The motorbike fare is ₱50 for a round trip (back and forth). I highly recommend visiting during weekdays. This way, you can avoid the heavy weekend crowd and fully enjoy the serene beauty of the waterfalls. The peaceful sound of flowing water and the fresh mountain breeze is best experienced without too much noise around. Tumalog Waterfalls is known for its enchanting curtain-like cascade that flows gently down the moss-covered rocks, creating a dreamy backdrop that feels straight out of a postcard. The water is cool and refreshing, making it a perfect stop after exploring other attractions in Oslob. Standing there, surrounded by nature, you can’t help but feel calm and recharged. When visiting Cebu south, Tumalog Falls is truly a must-visit destination. Whether you’ve already been to Oslob for the famous whale shark experience or exploring other nearby spots, adding Tumalog to your trip will make your adventure even more memorable.

Beautiful and stunning water fall! Took a 3 minute motorcycle ride to arrive at the entrance. The water is between blue and green, and there're a lot of fish in the river. The temperature of the water is a bit cold, and I saw some visitors swimming in water ponds. Great place for taking good pictures and enjoy nature.

Tumalog Falls is one of those places that genuinely takes your breath away the moment you see it. The falls are wide and tall, with thin, silky streams of water flowing over mossy rocks, creating this beautiful curtain effect that feels almost otherworldly. It is not the typical powerful waterfall — it is gentle, calming, and incredibly picturesque. The walk down can be a bit steep, but once you reach the bottom, the cool air and the sound of the water instantly make the trip worth it. The pool is shallow and refreshing, perfect for relaxing your feet or taking a quick dip. The whole area is shaded and peaceful, making it a great spot to slow down and just take everything in. I also appreciated how clean and well-maintained the place was. Even with other visitors around, it still felt serene. If you are visiting Oslob or nearby areas, Tumalog Falls is absolutely a must-see. It is one of those natural spots that stays with you long after you leave.

Tumalog Falls is absolutely breathtaking! The view of the falls is stunning, and the surrounding landscape adds to the beauty of the entire experience. It's definitely worth taking the motorcycle ride up and down the hill – the ride itself is a wonderful adventure and gives you a unique perspective of the area. The water is on the cooler side, so it’s best to visit in the afternoon when the sun is up, making it perfect for a refreshing swim. The chill of the water adds to the experience, especially after the ride up. The falls are serene and peaceful, offering a perfect escape into nature. Overall, Tumalog Falls is a must-visit if you're in the area. The combination of the scenic ride, the beautiful waterfall, and the refreshing swim makes it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy both adventure and relaxation in a stunning natural setting!

We came here on a private taxi tour (just the two of us). We paid our taxi driver extra 400 pesos in total for Tumalog Fall, which included the round trip habal habal ride, entrance fee, and even some amazing photos 📷. If you see photographers around, it’s worth paying for the shots! They do a great job❤️. We actually wanted to give him a tip, but unfortunately left everything in the taxi. 😭 The waterfall itself is beautiful, but be prepared to get wet, everything can get soaked. We spent about two hours here swimming, taking photos, and even trying the doctor fish experience. The habal habal ride was also super fun 🫶🏻 highly recommended to visit here after Oslob whale shark watching!

The waterfalls are absolutely beautiful, but... the wild crowds lining up for the most Instagrammable photos, shouting and pushing each other. Motorcycles roar up and down the mountain (I recommend walking; it's a 10-15-minute walk). That's where I understood the meaning of the TOURISM INDUSTRY :(

Better come here on weekdays, weekend and holidays are busy! This place is obviously very popular to visit, can get over crowded. Plenty of motorbike if you want a left going down to the falls, it’s quite a walk but part of the fun. Didn’t bother walking back up, I know I won’t make it, quite a stiff hill. Motorbike is 50 pesos one way, per person. There’s a parking space if you’re on motorbike right by the shops. We parked along the road, very busy on weekend so many vans and cars. Beautiful falls and easy access, road ate good better that the highway!

Aguinid Falls

Waterfalls
Aguinid Falls in Samboan Municipality, South Cebu, offers an exhilarating mini-canyoneering experience with its multi-tiered waterfall. The trek to the falls involves wading through refreshing blue waters surrounded by lush canyon walls. The limestone formations make the trek safe and manageable. Visitors can also explore the seven levels of Aguinid Falls with a guide, spending 1-2 hours on this activity.
This is soooo cool. Expect a few climbs and small hike. Expect to get wet. But the guides will help you get up and stay safe. The water is refreshing and the scenery is beautiful! Food afterwards is very good, people are very nice. This is a must go and must do when you are in the area! Takes around 1 hour total (or more when taking it easy more and/or having lunch afterwards). You will be supplied with mandatory watershoes, helmet and life jacket. Again. This is cool. Go for it!

Great attraction that combines impressive nature with a small sporting challenge. In our opinion, a great alternative to canyoning. You climb up the waterfall with a total of 8 stages, accompanied by two guides. One takes photos and videos, and the other assists with the climbing. Our guides were very friendly, and we felt very well taken care of. Everything you expect from waterfalls is offered here in our view: climbing, optional jumps of 4 or 9 meters, small natural pools, and the chance to stand directly under the waterfall. At the top, you arrive in a beautiful palm forest and are then picked up by a tuk-tuk to ride back down into the valley. We were thrilled and found the people very friendly, and the price more than fair. We were also warmly welcomed by a lady at the parking lot . She simply offers her services and is very understanding if you don’t need anything. The guides are paid with tips, and the entrance fee is 350 pesos per person. There was just one other guest besides us, so it wasn’t crowded at all, which was very pleasant. In short – wonderful nature and a small adventure that stays in your memory. You do need to be somewhat sporty for the climbing sections, but overall it’s very doable. We can definitely recommend it :)
Jakob M — Google review
A perfect place to experience waterfalls without the intensity of Kawasan. You climb up through 8 levels but no obligation to jump down off the 10m fall (but you can if you want to). Great for a couple with 1-1 guides who know the place like it's a part of them, they know every foothold and underwater step and will help you along the way. The place will test your resolve if you've never done this sort of thing before but it's worth it for the achievement. It's underrated and under visited, shadowed by its more commercialised neighbours who advertised themselves prominently along the main road. You'll only know of Aguinid's existence by a discreet sign at the turning. Have a go after a whale shark experience in Oslob and take a trike to Aguinid (about an hour) for a proper Cebu experience.

This trek isn't suitable for beginners or children due to the extreme rock and rope climbing involved. Despite the challenging ascent, it was a fun experience, and I'd definitely return.
Melvin R — Google review
A great adventure site but no jumping was allowed only climbing was done
Abhishek C — Google review
It’s about climbing the waterfalls all the way up. There are 8 levels. Two to three levels are very challenging since it’s the rainy season and the water is soooo strong. I could barely see anything especially when climbing up with hands and feet. It can be very dangerous to be honest. Some hills are almost vertical. The guides were professional though. They could assist the tourists in a comfortable way. But still I can’t deny the fact that people can fall from the waterfalls. There’s no protection to assist people from falling down. One thing I don’t like is that one guide kept asking for a “good” tip all the way. He kept saying that tourism is the only source of revenue in the village and so asked us to be generous about tips.
Flora F — Google review
Must visit place and the guides really excellent and patience.. they provided confident for those who scare to climb up
Ashok K — Google review
Fee for entry with the safety gears including helmet, life vest and nonslip shoe, and a vehicle pick up when you are done with it is 350peso. Mandatory to take 2 guides with optional tips. Very nice and organised and really nice. Only felt a little rush and well, could t take a nap listening to the waters. Must go!

Tingko Beach

Outdoor Activities
Tingko Beach in Alcoy, Cebu is a beloved destination known for its powdery white sands and clear azure waters, offering the perfect setting for relaxation. Accessible by bus from Cebu South Bus Terminal, this isolated beach boasts stunning natural beauty and clean waters ideal for swimming and water sports like jet skiing and parasailing. It's a popular spot among both locals and tourists, with options to stay overnight or camp on the long stretch of beach divided into four parts.
A peaceful retreat from larger, more crowded beaches, with its narrow strip of white sand adding a distinct charm to the experience. The intimate setting creates a sense of seclusion, perfect for those seeking tranquility by the shore. Just off the coast, a nearby reef provides an ideal spot for snorkeling, allowing visitors to explore the vibrant underwater life in the area.

Nice white sand beach. I recommend using the small stairs near the sidenm of the road so you wont have to pay any entrance fees. Beware though, once you go the vacinity of the 2 resorts, they will charge you entrance fees even though you never went inside their resort.
Edward H — Google review
The beach here is clear and clean. There is no wide sand, a bit rocky but totally to chill with your family. The entrance fee is 50 pesos per head. 600 pesos for a very small table. It was a bit expensive. You can buy drinks here. Also some are selling barbecues. There is also room for rent in front of the beach. Overall, it's okay. They also have security guards.
Max A — Google review
Beautiful beach but seems like to be private. You can go there through adjacent city beach. There are jellyfish in the water
Jakub N — Google review
A local guy told me to go to this beach, and it did not disappoint! Most beautiful beach in cebu! The water was crystal clear and there were lots of places to sit (and some in shade if you burn easy) Also some stray dogs (but the ones I saw were nice)

We had our batch outing with my high school friends. We had so much in Tingko. We stayed in the Barangay Beach House which is very affordable and clean. The attendant was very accommodating in our needs. We visited the sand bar at the center of the beach. We had a lot of fun in Tingko, and this place is recommended for gatherings of friends and families.
Christy L — Google review
This beach is always my favorite in this part of Cebu. It's conveniently located right down from the bus stop, and you can quickly reach the beautiful white sand beach by taking a steep path. Although the beach here is clear and clean, it doesn't have a wide sandy area and is a bit rocky. However, it's still a great place to chill with your family. The entrance fee is 50 pesos per person, and the price for a very small table is 600 pesos, which I find a bit expensive. You can purchase drinks on-site, and some vendors also sell barbecues. Additionally, there are rooms available for rent right in front of the beach. Overall, it's an okay place to visit, and they do have security guards for added safety. When you visit, make sure to go on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowd. You can enjoy the fine sand and let the enchanting waves take away your worries. There are also great snorkeling spots available if you're interested, or you can simply bask in the sun. Just remember to bring your sunscreen for protection.
Jhon R — Google review
This beach is beautiful and if you know the region most of the beaches are rocky coral so you need good shoes. This is sugar sand and beautiful. We went to Voda Krasner resort and paid a table fee of 300 pesos for a private section of the beach with showers and a bathroom. They have a really nice restaurant bar with a great view. Good snorkeling

Bais Dolphin Watching and Manjuyod Sandbar Tours

Tour operator
Outdoor Activities
Bais Dolphin Watching and Manjuyod Sandbar Tours offer a delightful experience for travelers. The sandbar, located in Bais but accessible from Dumaguete, is a paradise with fine sands and shallow waters during low tide. Visitors can enjoy water sports activities like banana boat rides while taking in the sea breeze. The area also offers dolphin watching tours, providing an opportunity to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Beautiful nature encounter. Watching pods of dolphins swimming and playing around your boat is amazing! Seeing them jump in the air and spinning. Swimming under you, jumping in front of your boat and all around you is a wonderful experience.
James F — Google review
Free parking; private vessel hire; great helpful crew. Very safe with life vests for all on board. Knowledgable of where to see the dolphin pods. Cooked fresh seefood on BBQ at the rear of the boat. Reasonable price.
Tom P — Google review
Really amazing to experience the gift off nature.watching dolphin's and walk into the sandbar..come in experience..
Jaspervf V — Google review
Third time here, and it was a bit of a flop. More of dolphin spotting than dolphin watching. No sand bar also. They said it’ll show up around 4pm which would mean staying in the middle of nowhere for 8 hours since we had to start early to catch the dolphins. And no advance notice was given by the operator. Food, however, was top notch.
Leigh V — Google review
Best time to go dolphin watching is morning around 9-10. Might as well book your tour ahead of time.
Mayjie I — Google review
We were able to see some dolphins from afar. They easily disappeared most probably by the noise that the motor boats produced. Even though it was already a little early before the sandbar appeared, we opted to go there and just spent some quiet time watching and observing people who were riding Banana boats. The food served in the boat was delicious. Hope they can do something in crafting the tour package in such a way that there would be no lull moments in between itineraries.
Encar V — Google review
It is a nice sand bar which appeared during lowtide. While visiting the place, you will have the chance to see dolphins, enjoy water sports activities and much more
Jojo V — Google review
We haven't experienced the Dolphin watching when we had our travel last February 2020. But we enjoyed the Manjuyod sandbar so much. Fine sands and sea breeze were very much a delight for us travellers. We also did banana boat with my friends which add up the fun and adventure of our Negros Travel.

Kawasan Falls is a famous attraction located in Badian, Cebu. It is a trio of stunning waterfalls that cascade into natural swimming pools and lagoons, accessible via jungle trails. Badian itself is known for its white beaches, resorts catering to various budgets, and cool diving sites. The town's name originates from the plant "badyang," which was abundant in the area historically.
The panoramic view of the pristine, clear turquoise waters at Tumalog Falls is absolutely mesmerizing. Surrounded by lush jungle, the scenery feels like a hidden paradise. The natural beauty of the area is simply breathtaking, offering the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience. Canyoneering here is highly recommended – it’s both exhilarating and breathtaking, with jumps ranging from 7 to 10 feet. The thrill of the jumps combined with the refreshing cool waters makes it an adventure you won’t forget. For an even more exciting experience, don't miss the opportunity to try the natural slides, which add an extra element of fun to the adventure. Overall, the beauty and serenity of the surroundings, along with the adrenaline-filled canyoneering, make this a must-do activity in Cebu. It’s the perfect combination of stunning scenery and heart-pumping adventure that everyone should indulge in when visiting the area! Highly recommended for anyone seeking both relaxation and excitement!

Kawasan Canyon is truly a stunning natural beauty. The scenery is breathtaking, and swimming in the canyon was such a wonderful experience. 🌊✨ Definitely a must-see place! However, in our visit, a guide stayed with us the whole time. At first, we thought it was required for everyone to have a guide, but later we noticed that other tourists were exploring on their own. We didn’t really want a guide, but he kept staying with us just to get a tip, which was a bit annoying. Apart from that, everything was amazing. It’s a natural wonder I highly recommend everyone to see.

Must-visit tourist place in Cebu Phillipines, famous for its turquoise waters, lush jungle surroundings, and cool natural pools. So beautiful and serenic place away from city. A road which is little bit kacha pakka leads to this waterfall, Around 30 minutes walk from main road. But enjoyed each meter of this distance. Choosing any of Kawasan Falls tour is the best way to experience this multi-tier waterfall, whether you want to simply relax and swim or pair your visit with other Cebu tourist spots. If you want to swim and relax only then walk and reach at ist step of the waterfall. Life jacket is provided free. Before you reach the falls, you will walk for 15 minutes depending on your pace, and of course the weather is hot, bring water so that when you get thirsty you can drink something. The falls are really a beautiful sight. The sound of the falling water, is very pleasant to listen to and is relaxing that brings joy to your heart. I am grateful for this day because I witnessed one of the beautiful natures of the Philippines that should be preserved. When my daughter saw the KAWASAN FALLS, all I heard was WOW and that's how amazed she was.
Neneng J — Google review
We arrived at noon and parked at the church at the entrance to the site. We had to pay 50 pesos to the guard for each motorcycle. We decided not to take the long tour and instead paid only for reaching the first waterfall (200 pesos per person). The walk was relatively short and comfortable. The view is very beautiful and we saw several animals along the way (butterflies, a lizard running on the water, bats on a tree…) The waterfall itself is very beautiful. You need to wear a life jacket and there is indeed a strong current as you get closer to the waterfall. Overall, it was a very good experience, worth the visit.

Pescador Island

Nature & Parks
Pescador Island, located in the Tañon Strait near Cebu, is a popular destination for snorkelers and divers. The island is known for its pristine waters and rich marine life, making it a favorite spot for underwater exploration. Its vibrant coral reef teems with diverse sea creatures, including huge sea turtles and colorful fish. However, visitors should be cautious of jellyfish in the area to avoid getting stung.
We were a family of 4 certified divers visiting Moalboal from the U.S. in July. We went diving with Turtle Bay Dive Resort Center. Our dive master, Dennis, was professional and had our safety in mind. The current was a little strong and our dive master & crew were cautious. The visibility wasn’t as clear as other places we have dove. There was lot of sealife.
Catherine H — Google review
We paid 700 pesos each to reach the island with our own snorkeling gear. The boat trip was the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the corals are still recovering, and we only encountered three or four fish species that we hadn’t seen at White Beach. There were also jellyfish in the water. We swam for about 40 minutes. While we don’t regret the experience, we wouldn’t recommend it if you’re expecting a mind-blowing snorkeling adventure.
Marta C — Google review
Ive been snorkling to Boracay, Bohol, Bantayan, Camuigin and more, but this is the best snorkling experience I had. You can see the beautiful paradise under the sea here. 🌊 that feeling that you dont want to leave the island. Trully recommended and a must snorkling in Moalboal. My camera cannot capture the real beauty of the place, so magical and colorful, I hope they can preserve this beauty and hopefully the corals are safe when I can come back.
Marivic Y — Google review
This place provided me such wonderful experience. The locals were so friendly, guides were considerate and very helpful. I love the part when the local tourism provided a mini orientation about the place, they oriented us about do's and don'ts during the snorkeling; they encouraged us to not only enjoy the place but to help them preserve the beauty of it, tourists are prohibited to touch any creatures during the snorkeling and even during the turtle viewing. I felt safe when we were riding the boats going to Pescador Island, guides were strict about tourists wearing life jackets. The view was exhilarating, approaching the small island bring exuberance and thrill. When we reached the place, local guides reminded us of safety protocols, they were with us while we were enjoying the underwater view, it felt safer knowing they were there watching us. Guides did not only kept us safe, they were giving us tips on how to do snorkeling more fun. As a first timer, I really enjoyed the experience, I know all of the tourist there did. By the way, you can rent an underwater camera to the local guides if you don't have one, and please do rent one, those guides were the reason why I have such awesome underwater photos, they were the ones who took it. Amazing.

This place is a very good snorkeling place. My and my family had gone and do snorkeling to this area. We saw a lot of things like the sea turtle that are very huge and amazing fishes and a school of fishes swimming around under the sea. However while we are swimming around the area. We got itchy and and got a lot of red marks around our skins. Because as we don't know that there are jellyfishes that are swimming around the water. Hence, it is quite difficult to swim due to the jellyfish stings. But, overall my experience here is great
ELIAS — Google review
*Visited May 2020* A nice little island that you can snorkel around and see all the different types of coral. There are quote a few fish around including 'Dory' & Parrot fish. We were taken acrossto the island on a small boat and stayed there for about 20 minutes exploring. The sea is beautiful and clear. But we did not go on the island itself as there wasn't any access to be able to do this. There has been known to be turtles but we didn't see any here.

Sardines and turtles are amazing. The tourist is professional, they not only monitor carefully to ensure safety but also help us take best photos and records. Unforgettable moments!

White Beach Moalboal, also known as Basdaku Beach, is a picturesque stretch of white sandy shoreline in Cebu, Philippines. Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, this tranquil beach offers clear turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. It is renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life, making it a popular destination for water enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy activities such as volleyball and kayaking while taking in the beauty of the pristine surroundings.
It's really beautiful, but one the weekend very crowded
Magdalena Z — Google review
The beach is stunning, featuring beautiful white sand and an abundance of colorful corals and fish, making it ideal for snorkeling. However, there are some downsides: nearby restaurants often have loud music and karaoke, and there is little to no shade available. It can also get quite crowded in the evenings. We paid 25 pesos each on the way there, in addition to parking and an entrance fee on-site.
Marta C — Google review
I visited this place on a Saturday afternoon — it was quite crowded with lots of people swimming. There were many food stalls along the beach selling all kinds of grilled meat and seafood. The beach itself was clean and beautiful, but due to the crowd, I decided just to take a walk and enjoy the view. Note that there’s a small fee: 20 pesos for motocycle parking and 10 pesos for entrance
Nghia D — Google review
It's a public beach, but for some reason it requires a fee. It's dirty, there are no changing rooms or sun loungers, and there are lots of dogs and dog poop. The locals simply don't know what a normal beach should look like. There are no lifeguards either.
Edgard S — Google review
Calm blue waters, but very busy. Met some locals who invited us to join them to play volleyball that was fun. Overall, it was an okay experience.
Ashley G — Google review
We went here September 19, 2025. It is not a part of our Tour package, but included due to bad weather resulting for a temporary closure of Kawasan Falls. White Beach in Moalboal is open for the public, but you have to pay for an enviromental fee of 10 pesos per person and a parking fee of 100 pesos. The beach has a remarkable white sand and a stunning clear water. You can see on the other side the island of Negros Oriental.
Gorj S — Google review
A nice enough beach and very busy when I went. The water is clean and blue.
Paul B — Google review
Rode our bike up to the beach and pay the small entry and parking fee, like 40 pesos for two and a bike. The beach is very nice white sand and the water is crystal clear. Snorkelling is wonderful, and you can easily see turtles in the shallows. You can rent a mask-snorkel from the beach if needed. If you walk down the beach just 5 minutes, you can have the place to yourself, and the snorkelling is still great.

Magaso Leisure Camp is a cluster of overnight cottages and picnic areas situated near a towering waterfall that is popular for swimming. It can be reached via a two-hour motorcycle ride from the city of Bacolod, located in Kabankalan Negros Occidental. This hidden paradise boasts a relaxing ambiance with fresh, crystal-clear water flowing throughout the area, making it an ideal sanctuary to relieve stress and appreciate nature's beauty.
I recently visited one of the best waterfalls I've ever seen, tucked away in the heart of Kabankalan City. The moment I arrived, I was blown away by the beauty surrounding me. The water was so refreshing, perfect for a hot day! However, I do have to mention that the rocks around the waterfall can be really slippery, so it’s best to watch your step. Overall, it’s just a great spot to connect with nature and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a lovely place to unwind, this waterfall is definitely worth a visit!
Ernie T — Google review
Absolutely epic place to be. The road to get here is now paved but it gets dicey as it's steep and one area was damaged due to flooding and the road was caved. Hopefully, by the time you go,the road would be fixed. The resort itself is pretty good. If you're up for adventures and lots of stairs and climbing, this is the place for you. They have villas you can rent of overnight and lots of gazebos for day use. Im happy to see that the focus is on the falls and the nature surrounding it. The main area where the pool is, is nice enough. Going down to the falls, that's an adventure and if you have bad knees, take your time. Some parts of the stairs are quite big steps, so it takes effort. The falls itself, the main one that is accessible is stunning. Now it depends when you come here because when we did, it was raining the night before and during our visit. So it was a lot of water and it was awesome. The upper side is much more chill and there is a natural slide that gets fun but be very careful because the current is so strong that it does push you down. Better have someone watching out and help pull you up because it is hard to stand once you've slid down. But it is fun. The trek going up is okay but be careful as there are parts with no railings whatsoever. The facilities, the washrooms are okay. I think they were renovating a few. Anyway, it really is a fun place and you can even bring your meats or fish to grill. You do have to bring your own charcoal. But what a fun place to hang out for the day. I say get there early because the parking is at a premium as well.

Mag-aso Leisure Camp is one of the best destinations for family and friends bonding. The water comes from a source that is safe for everyone and chlorine-free. The vibe is very natural, where you can enjoy a lot of activities like picture taking, camping, video shooting, and more. What are you waiting for? Don't wait, come and visit Mag-aso Leisure Camp where the beauty of nature awaits.
Ronald L — Google review
Truly breath taking experience. The water was so refreshingly cold and as blue as the sky. The surrounding nature is very well maintained and is a beauty in itself to enjoy. You can’t buy tickets or cottages in advance, but both are always available at arrival so there’s nothing to worry about. Entry cost was 50 pesos and cottages are 200 pesos for the day. If natural waterfalls and nature-made pools aren’t your thing, they also have a large beautiful man-made pool available as well.
Jared K — Google review
Nice place to stay and bond with family and friends. Overnight rooms and cottages can be rented. Can also bring your own tent. Some of the cottages do not have functioning lights. There is no quiet time so be prepared for the other groups that decides to drink all night and talk loud with no regards to the other people who are trying to sleep. The pool water is spring water and just flows in and flows out a spillway on the other end. The main reason I gave it 3 stars is for the lack of noise discipline and enforcement which should be quiet hours.
Bruce C — Google review
Unforgettable waterfall swimming experience. There were quite a lot of stairs (and some of them pretty steep) to get to the falls but the hike is worth it! The water is ice blue and refreshingly cool. I would recommend bringing water shoes with you as the rocks can be slippery and sharp. You’ll also need to bring your own towel too. The camp offers ‘cottages’ for P200 but they’re really more like park benches/tables with an awning, kind of like a cabana. They have a food stall selling sio mai, fries, halo halo and other items near Wilfred’s camp, which was a tasty treat but they didn’t have any other places for a sit down meal as far as I could tell. I would definitely bring your own snacks and drinks since it’s a hike back to the top to buy from the entrance stall. There was a lady sitting on a barstool who was telling us we needed to pay P25 to use a plastic chair and we weren’t sure if she was an actual employee or not (turns out she was) it would have been nice if she was wearing something to identify her as an employee because the whole interaction was odd.

Good place. Fresh water pool. The falls was amazing. Did not get that good of a cottage for 400 because we arrived at noon. Toilet is meh.

The place is renamed since the pandemic. It's funny enough not possible to go there by car. The owner hopes that the last 100 yards will be finished soon so that you can come until 50 yards of the facility. Owner is very pleasant. Good bed and good bathroom. No complaints except the wifi is real bad and no other datareception possible in the room.

Way overpriced for facility. Excellent service from the one and only staff. It's an unexpected adventure just to get there, aim to check in before 3pm... A long tricycle ride from Sipalay, then a boat, then walk a mile on the beach.... Carrying luggage.... Beach is polluted with plastic... So many places to stay without the hassle, and better value. Maybe they should drop the Price. It's a good place to stay a few days or more... If it were cheaper.

Dishonest owner and a terrible place. Don't stay here!!!! Edit: I stayed here for a short time in 2019 with my then gf. The stay was bad enough that we left halfway through, requested a refund, were promised said refund and subsequently not refunded the correct amount. Yhetd was no watef and nk services provided while we were there. What was supposed to be a ten night stay was cut short after two nights. The owner then threatened to have me assaulted in Bacolod when I complained to her directly. So I'm not unposting a bad review. Maybe you should keep better records.

Amazing location set on sugar beach, very simple accommodation and laid back. Behind the resort you will find the local population of sugar beach and a few sari sari stores. Got a great tour of the area with a local kid. The manager was super helpful with our check in, finding us local beers and bbq. Yes no t.v, WiFi, hot water... But I would stay here again in heartbeat for the amazing Filipino hospitality on hand

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Danjugan Island is a 43-hectare protected paradise, featuring sandy beaches and lush rainforests teeming with diverse wildlife. The island is a prime example of sustainable ecotourism, offering well-maintained paths that lead to secluded beaches, sea-eagle nests, and a bat cave where pythons prey on bats at dusk. Visitors can enjoy kayaking and diving in the marine reserve's three no-take zones for enhanced fish-watching.
Only tried the 3-hour tour but it was enough for me to experience what the island has to offer both under the water and over. The marine sanctuary was teeming with aquatic life. Too bad I forgot to bring an underwater camera. My guide took us around the island as well. We visited the turtle hatching site, the tabon hatching site, a bat cave, and a lagoon where we did some kyaking. The island is well worth an overnight, which i plan to do on a future visit.

Beautiful place. Great people. Food was amazing, we were fed every two hours maybe lol... Very comfy room was luxurious given this is not a resort. Little touches like scented candles when we entered the room. A guide is assigned to us for our entire stay letting us pick the activities (there are lots!) we'd like to do or you can just chill. The only place where you can see both spectacularly sunrise from one side of the island and watch sunset at the other side. I'll be coming back. Photos speak for itself...

My Danjugan trip was by far the most satisfying overnight vacation I have experienced in recent memory. The island offers trip packages for your convenience and you will not be disappointed. For a fixed fee, you can already stay on the island for a night complete with amiable accommodations and superb food. The food can be compared with no less than the best restaurant you can find in Negros. It is also not your regular one viand meal but a fully prepared set meal that is sumptuous and delightful, you will be surprised with the quality and the taste. The scheduled activities are fun and insightful, your payment already includes unlimited use of any of their gears to snorkel, to trek, and to kayak. And the activities are endless since the island boasts of numerous diving and snorkel spots. The island also features a bat cave and several beaches and a handful lagoons for your amusement. This is one place that you should definitely visit in Negros.

Danjugan Island allows everyone a safe refuge from everyday life's wear and tear. The island is a love letter to the future generation - it is a gift to our grandchildren and a reminder of how diverse, beautiful and full of adventures our planet is. It is also a reminder to take care of our environment so those yet to be born can still see the wonders. The perks: It is only a few hours away from Bacolod and is easily accessible through public transport You can get to the island by boat and the ride there is already part of the tour There are rooms with complete amenities for rent Food is excellent and delicious Service is topnotch The island is beautiful and you will never run out of activities to choose from Swimming, kayaking, trekking, sightseeing, diving, snorkeling and of course eating delicious meals are juat some of the activities you can enjoy The downside: If you plan to work or spend your time on social media, don't. There is no signal in the island. You have to walk a few hundred meters to get a signal This is not actually so bad as you can enjoy the island without being annoyed by the outside world. This is also a reminder that there are adventures away from the screens of our phones and outside of social media
Jared L — Google review
Went there October 2018, the place is beautiful and since the island is a private property, there is a fee going there but it is all worth it! Included in the said fee were boat service to and from the island, food (AM/PM snack, Lunch), snorkeling gears and a tour guide since you will be exploring the island for the whole day. You can also stay there since there are cottages in the island.

Nature at its best, superb nature way designed to impress both tourist and locals. The reef is jaw dropping, corals and fishes are everywhere. So much to do in this island trekking bat caving kayaking and other water activity. I was amaze by the local and lgu preserving this awesome island. Cheer danjungan

Foremost of all, the conservation effort of the entire team is commendable. Do not miss the opportunity to dive / snorkel at the Coral Garden and be prepared to be amazed at the schools of giant colorful angelfish. The sunsets are stunning. Moray Lagoon, named after the many resident moray eels (do not dip your fingers), is an eye-catching aquamarine color, and it is good for kayaking for those who like this activity. It is full-board (accommodation, 3 meals, a morning snack, and an afternoon snack). There is so much food. Needless to say, it represents excellent value for the amount that you paid.
Jake H — Google review
Best Eco-tourism island in the Philippines I was told and I believe it is true. This place is magic and will talk to the rising number of people, like us, who want to reduce their environmental footprint. It is exclusive in the sense it has a very limited number of accommodations available but it is highly worth booking those to experience the unique jungle, 5 lagoons, top snorkeling sites and bird watching. It is a pity fishermen (and authorities) around are not respecting the fishing nets regulation but it is not yet affecting the island too much. Avoid if you need aircon or a TV but go for it if that is secondary to a unique nature experience. Worth the 4h drive from Bacolod.

Campuestohan Highland Resort is a relaxed and quirky resort that offers a variety of accommodations, ziplines, outdoor pools, dining options, and a spa. It's an ideal destination for families with activities catering to all age groups. The resort features multiple pools including a wave pool, swimming pool, water park, and foam pool.
The trip there was very scenic, and upon arrival, we were greeted by giant sculptures of dinosaurs and other animals. It’s one of the most unique resorts I’ve visited. It's a true sight to behold. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, including swimming, a zipline, a hamster walk, and even ostrich feeding. While some areas are still under construction, the place shows huge potential. With its themed sections and unique photo opportunities, the experience is well worth it. I highly recommend visiting.

Originally, this wasn't part of our tour but because our flight was very early, we added this place as it was open early. There are so many places you can take a photo of here. It is good for couples and families. We noticed that even though it's raining the pools are packed with guests. In each area, there are also different rooms available. Since we only did a day trip here, we could only quickly check out the rooms but I think it would be fun to stay here at least overnight. The rooms are big enough to fit a family of four. There are so many things you can do. They also have their restaurant and cafe so you can comfortably stay and eat here. The entrance fee is P250 per person and parking is along the road inside the gated facility. The design of the park is kind of eclectic though. There is a general theme like the Dino park or the teepee village but once in a while, there is an item that does not fit.

Campuestohan Highland Resort is a mountain‑top resort and adventure park located in Sitio Campuestohan, Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental. It opened in May 2014 and is developed as an integrated eco‑tourism destination combining leisure, family fun, and scenic views. Pros & Highlights • Ideal for families or groups with kids: plenty of activities, space for children to play, photo opportunities. Reviewers say kids especially enjoy the whimsical attractions. • The scenic setting and cooler climate add value compared to typical resort‑town heat. One review mentioned: “The place is perfect especially for the kids… they have plenty of swimming pools and playground.” • A good mix of leisure + adventure: you can relax by the pool or opt for zip‑line/sky‑bike for more excitement. • The resort has gained some media attention—e.g., for its new rooster‑shaped hotel building “Manok ni Cano Gwapo” which drew Guinness World Record recognition.

Good value. A variety of fun things to do. Entrance fee is fair. All rides have to be paid for around 150 to 200 pesos. Instruction on how to pay for rides very vague very often have to ask staff. Main wave pool is well presented and fun and by far the best feature that does not have to be paid for.
Stuart M — Google review
Always a great time with the kids at campuestohan. Entrance at 250 unli access to all the pools. You need to pay extra for other activities such as ostrich feeding, zip line etc. The resort keeps improving as they add new attractions and a big slide.

Staff are friendly and place is spacious. A lot of activities to do and it was a great experience to feed the ostriches! Currently there is a major construction on going for thier new acttractions however it doesnt affect our quick day use of the place.
Eunice A — Google review
We visited the place just two days ago with an entrance fee of ₱250 for adult. It was beautiful! I think they have around five pools, with two more still under construction. There are plenty of garbage bins, huge dinosaur displays, and of course, the famous Manok ni Cano. My only concern is the restrooms — they’re not well maintained despite the abundant water supply. You can still smell urine, and there’s nowhere to place your things inside the shower area. The food in their cafeteria is okay, but there are a lot of flies. I’d suggest bringing your own food and a jacket in case it rains, as it can get quite cold due to the fog. Overall, my toddler really enjoyed the foam and wave pools!
Shiela A — Google review
The place really has gone downhill. A lot of the facilities and structures are dilapidated, broken and rusted due to neglect. The pools look dirty with bits of mould present. The slides and rides are either under construction or out of order. No life guards at certain areas to supervise with poor signage as well.

We had the chance to visit the San Sebastian Church in Bacolod, and it was truly a beautiful and memorable experience. The architecture is stunning, with its grand design and historical charm that immediately captures your attention the moment you arrive. We visited on a Friday, and we were lucky enough to attend a Holy Mass during our visit. The ambience inside the church was peaceful and solemn, creating the perfect setting for prayer and reflection. The church is well-maintained and radiates a sense of history and faith that both locals and tourists will appreciate. Whether you're religious or simply admire heritage sites, San Sebastian Church is definitely worth a visit when in Bacolod.

We dropped by here as part of our city tour. There is currently an event happening so we could not stay for a long time. There is a guard by the gate and if you want to park inside he will help you. There are a few stalls selling religious memorabilia and candles for offering. These stalls only accept cash.

Located at the center of Bacolod City across the plaza. This church will take you back in time. Beautiful architecture and love the mosaics at the doors. Also the vintage feel of the altar. You should definitely visit this church when you’re at Bacolod City.
Just C — Google review
A church has been at this site since the 19th century. The church has a very impressive baroque facade with symmetric bell towers over an arcade with Romanesque arches. The interiors seems to be influenced by Rococo, albeit without the white plaster sculptures. The high altar is pretty much the most impressive part of the building. A white and gold ciborium shelters the altar table. Behind that, a reredos has a life-size statue of Saint Sebastian in the centre flanked by two angels

Very solemn. The cathedral’s long aisle and bright altar gave us a light and uplifting feeling during our visit.

Mambukal Mountain Resort is a fascinating place with plenty to offer. Visitors can enjoy delicious desserts by the four-tiered fountain in the garden and ponder over intriguing stories from the past. The resort surprises guests with unexpected attractions like bats and various tourist spots, including rivers and high valleys. It's an ideal destination for a vacation, especially because of the relaxing sulfur hot spring known as ofuru. While it may rain at times, visitors can still appreciate the beautiful river views.
Nice place to visit. We went just for lunch. Rained rained rained. We sat overlooking the river. This is a sulfur springs resort so you have to smell it. Lol. Food was ok, nothing special. Didn't stay at the hotel. You must call before you go!

Terrible hotel experience, rooms are way overpriced, payed so much and there was no wifi, no towels (need to pay extra for towels) no mini bar and no blankets, only one little sheet for two people to share. No restaurants! The only option is to order room service but they close at 7:00 pm so you stay hungry all night. The staff is unorganized and unprofessional. And you need to pay extra to enter the resort, so the hot springs are NOT included in the room price. And we were charged another wired resort fee, just felt like they were milking us for everything they could. Hot springs are amazing and beautiful but that’s the only good thing about the place. Better to just come for the day and NOT stay overnight.
Jay J — Google review
The resort offers a wide range of activities such as swimming, camping, trekking, zip-lining, and boating. Visitors can also enjoy the natural sulfur hot springs and mud pools which are believed to have therapeutic benefits. Apart from the natural attractions, the resort also features various accommodations, restaurants, and souvenir shops for visitors to enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the stay at the resort a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Overall, Mambukal Mountain Resort is an excellent choice for tourists looking for a unique outdoor experience in the Philippines.

This place is impressive for they have a lot of stuff going around it. When we got here I didn't expect something like bats are in here and several tourist attractions that we experienced. I only thought it is a good public pool that we can go and swim on. But there are a lot of things you will see here. There are also rivers and high valleys that you will go through. It is a fantastic place for a vacation. But my favourite part of this place is the ofuru or the hot spring that is sulfur. I only had seen those stuff exist on anime, and trying to bathe on it is great. But, as a first timer it is quite hard to bare and stay at because the water is so hot, so you had to cool down first before going in the hot spring. An so yeah there are a lot more things that you will see here and I highly recommend people to go here.
ELIAS — Google review
My family had a good time. Me, I didn’t get to see anything. I tried to contact them for 2 weeks to check if we could get a cabin to sped the night. No one would answer their phone. When we got there, there was over rowing, no secure place to park and no security for parked vehicles. So I had to stay with the car while everyone else went to have fun. The staff at the location was less than helpful. They didn’t seem to care that we traveled there at a pretty good cost, since there was a lot of people in our group.
Paul R — Google review
Was a great experience. We went to their dip pool. The water is really hot at first and you can smell the sulfur from but not bad when you get use to it. Me and my friends are able to visit the 6 waterfalls.
Bebe N — Google review
It just is different. Not very luxury, but very comfortable. But that is not why we go there regularly. It's because of the great nature. And it's because the people working there have their own 'business' there. Whether the guides, the flower sales people or the restaurants. Very empowering. And then there is more nature. Thousands of bats in the trees, birds and trees. And when you're tired, there are the warm sulphur baths and the massage. What makes it more pleasing is that the governor has developed it 'for the people', so not commercial but with conservation as the main driver. Very sympathetic. Even if the booking process is often difficult for outsiders: do it... worth the effort.

Historic Sites
The Guisi Lighthouse is a historical landmark located by the beach that was constructed in the 18th century by Spanish colonists to guide mariners passing through Iloilo and Guimaras strait. The lighthouse can be accessed via a light trail, which takes around 15 minutes uphill and offers breathtaking views of the beach. At the top of the hill lies an old Spanish-colonial outpost, as well as decaying remains of the metal lighthouse structure.
Guisi Lighthouse is a must-visit if you're in Guimaras, especially if you enjoy history and scenic views. The lighthouse itself is an old Spanish-era structure, weathered by time but still standing as a reminder of the island’s past. It’s not operational anymore, but the ruins and the rusting metal tower make for a great photo spot. The best part of the visit is the view—you get a stunning overlook of the coastline and the open sea. The short hike up is manageable, and it’s worth it once you reach the top. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, making it a nice escape from the more crowded beaches. Just be prepared for a bit of a rough road getting there, but once you arrive, it’s a great spot to explore and take in the beauty of Guimaras.

Was just here June 11, 2025 . It was a fun and unforgettable experience. When you visit Guimaras, please don't miss visiting GUISI LIGHTHOUSE- pre colonial vibes in the ruins, you will also have a panoramic view of the Bay/Ocean. There are perfect spots to do your reels/videos and photos we are lucky enough to get an all in one tour guide/photographer/videographer. Souvenirs are available here also, cheaper than anyone else. There's a lady who is selling sinukuan key chain 7pcs for 100. A small treck going up 5mins. SUPER GANDA BABALIK AKO DITO LESS PICTURE WILL ENJOY THE VIEW. Bring sunscreen mainit kasi haha. Enjoy! The second oldest light house in the Philippines. The original tower is all rust and the surrounding building is all in ruins. It was built by the Spanish and the compound has multiple buildings, signifying its importance at that time. Great place if you fancy historical places, ruins, and architechture.

Upon entry, there is a small environmental fee. The area offers plenty of parking and a nearby resort. This is a great stop for history buffs, as you can see the rusty and deteriorated ruins of the original Spanish-era lighthouse, which is no longer operational. A new, modern lighthouse has been built next to it. You can also ask the kids kids to guide you , and take a picture of you to the best photo spots for a small tip.

Another remnant of 333 years of Spanish colonization of the Philippines. This lighthouse was first known as Faro de Punta Luzaran which served as a guide to mariners passing through the Guimaras Strait. The ruins were basically devoid of other tourists until our group visited. No queue either. A must place to visit for those who value historical landmarks and great nature scenery of green, sea and the sun. The waters below were so clear you can basically see all of the corals underneath.

The Ruins

The Ruins, also known as Balay ni Tan Juan, is the remains of a grand Italianate mansion that was destroyed during World War II. Built in the late 19th century, it served as the residence of General Juan A. Araneta and holds historical significance related to the struggles during Hispanic colonization and the Negros Revolution of 1898.
I finally got to visit The Ruins in Talisay, Negros Occidental and I have to say, it truly lived up to the hype. This place is more than just a picturesque old mansion; it's a piece of history beautifully preserved and proudly shared with the public. It was closed when went there on a Saturday, it was booked for a wedding event. So, we came back on a Sunday. The moment I stepped into the grounds, I was struck by how elegant and peaceful the place was. The structure itself, though only the skeletal remains of what was once a grand home, still exudes so much character. The architecture, inspired by Italian design, is a testament to how love and legacy can be cast in concrete. What made the experience even better was how well-maintained everything was. The gardens were lush and vibrant, making the place feel alive despite the ruins. The parking is good and the comfort rooms are well maintained, which made the whole visit even more convenient and comfortable. What made it more special for me personally was seeing how happy my wife was to be back again. It brought back memories for her and added a deeper layer of meaning to the visit. It was a beautiful moment we’ll both treasure. Whether you're into history, photography, or just looking for a quiet romantic spot to relax, The Ruins is definitely worth the trip. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and reflect, a reminder of how love and resilience can stand the test of time. Don’t forget to stay until sunset, but unfortunately we are not able to stay there during sunset. We will definitely go back.
Kenn G — Google review
The drive there was very relaxing, with wide plains and minimal traffic. The site offers a spacious parking area and a ticketing lobby where guests line up to get tickets. Even on a weekday, there was still a queue, showing just how popular this destination is. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a beautiful green lawn, the mansion, a fountain, a small monument detailing the history of the place, and a restaurant beside a well. The history behind the mansion is heartwarming, while the story of how it burned down is truly devastating. There aren’t many activities to do here other than simply soaking in the beauty and history of the place—but that alone makes the visit worthwhile.

The Ruins is absolutely stunning! Such a beautiful piece of history and definitely a must-visit. The place is well-maintained, and the view—especially during sunset—is breathtaking. You can really feel the old-world charm and romantic vibe of the place. There’s also a nice café inside where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. Perfect spot for photos, chill time, and learning a bit of local history. Entrance is 150pesos each

It’s one of the few places in Bacolod you could visit and call a tourist spot. There’s not much to see except for the concrete skeleton of a once grand mansion. You can have a lot of photo opportunities if there’s not a lot of people. At high noon, the place could be very humid. Good thing there is a restaurant in the vicinity that gives a wonderful view of the ruins. They offer a limited selection of food and drinks. We tried their shakes to help us cool down. There’s also a gift shop for souvenirs. Place is easily accessible. I was able to book a grab car to and from the area. Must visit when you’re in Bacolod.
Marie P — Google review
My cousin and I went here on a regular day. The mansion looks so beautiful, especially at night. There were also many visitors even though it wasn’t a weekend. I highly recommend going around 4 or 5 PM so you can stay until the mansion lights up.

The entrance fee is paid in cash. There was sufficient parking when we arrived in the afternoon. The parking area is quite big. We parked near the entrance where you can see the fresh sugar cane juice store right away. There were quite a number of guests so it's hard to get photos without people in the background. There is a free guided tour every 30 minutes. While waiting for the tour to begin again, you can watch the informative video they prepared or check out the gift shop. The tour was short but informative. It was also a very inspiring story. This tourist spot is the last location in our city tour which I think was the best way to end the tour as it was relaxing and chill. The view was beautiful, the food was nothing special but the scenery and live music elevates the experience, and the fresh sugar cane juice on a humid day relieves your stress. This is a great place to watch the sunset. Don't miss the tree growing on top of the abandoned sugar cane tower or torre de azucar and the water fountain when its lighted at night.

Santa Ana Parish - Molo Church (Archdiocese of Jaro)

Sights & Landmarks
Molo Church, a neo-Gothic colonial church constructed in 1831, is renowned for its white-coral facade and statues of female saints. It stands out as the only Gothic-Renaissance Church outside of Manila in the entire country, making it a significant historical and heritage site in Western Visayas. The church's architecture is quite progressive for its time, with its dedication to female saints and Gothic style construction being surprising considering Spain's rivals used the technique.
This is a pretty church directly opposite Molo Mansion. It has a Gothic design with heavy influences from Classicism. It's known for having statues of only female saints, although there is a statue of the Archangel Michael near the entrance, so I don't know if that counts. There was a wedding on the day I visited, so sadly I was not about to get closer to the altar. From a distance, it's possible to see that the Gothic reredo has the church's patroness, Saint Anne, , along with statues of the Virgin with Child and the Holy Trinity.

Beautiful old church! I lived in Iloilo for 5yrs and I always pass this church but never came in to see it. Now I came back after over 2 decades and I appreciated it more. They started building the church in 1885 and it still stands until now. Inside, its a bit more modern but the structure has withstood wars, typhoons and floods. There was a wedding there when we arrived and it was filled with flower decors. The plaza in front is large enough for people to sit and chill.

As the parish priest explained, this is a feminist church, all saints inside the church are women. It was dedicated to all the strong women of the community when it was built. The streets around it are named after male saints, signifying how the men protect the women in their town.

Santa Ana Parish Church, commonly known as Molo Church, is a Spanish neo-Gothic Roman Catholic church located in the district of Molo in Iloilo City, in the Philippines. It is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Jaro. The church is recognized as "the women's church" or "the feminist church" because it only features images of female saints inside, including Saint Anne, the patron saint of Molo. The National Historical Institute declared it a national landmark in 1992

Before flying back to Manila, attended Sunday Mass at the Molo Church. There was a lot to be thankful for, the great vacation, the marvelous people we interacted with and the fabulous experiences we had. It is my practice whenever I enter a new church to pray for 3 wishes (one for the world, one for the country and one for my family) followed by 3 Our Fathers, 3 Hail Marys and 3 Glory Bes. Molo Church is also known as Sta Ana Parish. St Anne is married to Joachim. She is the mother of Mary, therefore she is the maternal grandmother of Jesus Christ. St Anne is the patron saint of Molo so Molo Church is dedicated to her. The Parish is known to be the "feminist church" giving emphasis and recognition to female saints as 16 statues line up the sides of the church leading to the altar. If you go to any church here in the country most of the church lay workers and servers are female so there is wisdom in choosing to be female centric. The Molo Church was constructed in 1831. It is the only Gothic style church in the country outside of Metro Manila. It is said that Dr Jose Rizal visited here in August of 1886 to view the biblical paintings which are no longer around at this time. In 1992, the National Historical Institute declared this as a National Landmark.

Hidden amidst the bustling present-day surroundings lies a church that feels as though it’s been plucked from the pages of an old spellbook or lifted from a scene in Harry Potter.

Magnificent building. The Greek pavilion of female gods and muses in the courtyard is a fascinating combination…

Since this church is located right across from the Moro Mansion, it’s best to visit them together.

Avanceña-Camiña Balay nga Bato

Camiña Balay Nga Bato is a well-preserved ancestral house from the mid-1800s that combines Filipino and Spanish architectural styles. It offers tours of its interior, which features antique furniture, intricate carvings, and colorful artwork. This charming destination is known for its traditional Filipino hospitality and delicious snacks. Additionally, it houses a beautiful museum that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines.
Date of visit: May 28, 2025. Before pandemic, I think the entrance was 150 pesos then and it had a price hike after a couple of years, though! After payment for entrance at the souvenir shop, a downloaded video from Rappler about the house tour was presented. The owners of the old house really take care of their ancestors' legacy. The whole house, with all the antiques and other cherished things from the past, is already a museum itself plus restaurant. Dining areas occupy almost the whole second floor. Camiña Balay, just like most of Iloilo's heritage houses, brings that Old World nostalgia. Visitors are of diverse background and not everyone can be pleased yet if you're into history and fascination for "bahay na bato" with all the antiques, don't miss this important cultural property when you're in this suburban district of Iloilo City. After the tour, they serve cookies and thick hot cocoa drink served in pretty little porcelain cups. So reminiscent of a chapter in Noli Me Tangere by Jose Rizal where two types of the said beverage, according to the gossip of the unnamed municipal Alperez, were Padre Salvi's culinary language when it comes to accepting guests; the two Noli characters are known to be bitter frenemies. "Chocolate e" for honored visitors, which means, the best quality hot chocolate that is syrupy and coats the biscuit or cookies. "Chocolate a" for unwanted visitors; the thinly-prepared cocoa drink, probably a sikwate.

I was the only visitor when I went. Entrance plus batirol and merienda priced at 200 pesos. I like how they make sure that even if you come by for the batirol you have embed the cultural history of the place! Kudos to the Camina’s!

This ancestral house took my breath away and I was just in awe. It's a living museum since the descendants of the owners sill inhabit the place. We arrived at around 10 AM and we were the only guests at that time. The entrance fee is 200 PHP (which is roughly around $3.50 USD depending on the conversion rate). You will be accompanied by a tour guide. The ground floor is where you can buy lots of pasalubong: Muscovado Sugar, artisan soaps, scarves, artisan salt, and a lot more! The house is made up of stone and has pillars of wood. My favorite room was the altar room where I got to pray and medidate. They have a Sto. Niño that's 3 centuries old in display. At the end of the tour, you could drink as much tsokolate de batirol (hot chocolate) you want. The drink comes with a plate full of local biscuits and fruits in season (we were served a papaya). All in all, the house was a trip to the past-- and it shows how important it is to preserve sites such as these for the present and beyond.

Beautiful, well-preserved house. After a quick tour of the house, you'll be served tablea. We paid extra for the pancit molo soup which I think is worth it. They also have a souvenir shop offering a selection of local products.

I arrived about 3pm and bought a ticket, which included chocolate espresso drink. The ticket was supposed to be a partly guided tour. There was supposed to be a 5 minute intro video. However, there was already a group of Filipinos who were already watching the video before us. By the time we started watching it was the last 30 seconds or so at which point the guide took us upstairs, shown around a few rooms, then to the dining area to get the chocolate drink. The house was pretty with lots of original wood features, especially the antique furnishing that really gives a nice sense of 19th century old world Filipino architecture. The drink was quite nice, but I was pretty disappointed with the tour. However, without the video to give context to the visit, I learned nothing about the house and had to look it up later.

A lovely little place with absolutely amazing hot chocolate. Would recommend a visit, it's a fourth generation hand down of their recipe. The hot chocolate was nice and thick staff were friendly the place is very antique like. Oh and there's a little tradition where you have to walk up the steps sideways?

Nice place to visit if you want to appreciate historical places in Iloilo. Their tablea is really good and you can ask for refills. There aren't many places to tour in the house. It's really more of a place to have merienda or rest between your trip. The price of the ticket is 200 and includes your drink + biscuits.

I really liked the pancit molo because it’ very tasty with all the spices and the fresh papaya. But, what I loved the most was the tablea hot choco because it’s delicious and it’s refillable. On top of that, all of the food comes from their own farm. I would definitely come back here 100% when I visit Iloilo again.

SM City Iloilo is a must-visit destination in Iloilo, Philippines. It's the largest and most renowned shopping mall in the area, boasting a vast gross floor area of 105,953 square meters. Opened in June 1999 on a spacious 17.5-hectare lot along Diversion Road (Benigno Aquino Avenue), it offers an array of shopping options and entertainment facilities.
This is my first time visiting SM Iloilo, and it absolutely lived up to the great experiences I’ve had with other SM malls. I love the vibrant atmosphere, the impressive architecture, and the wide variety of stores. It’s definitely one of the bigger SM branches I’ve seen—and it didn’t disappoint.

This mall is huge and has everything you’d expect—lots of stores, fun spots, and cozy spaces to hang out with friends. What I really loved is the free charging outlets, which you don’t usually find in other malls. It’s such a nice little perk! There’s so much to see and do here. Definitely a great place to visit!

SM Iloilo is one of the most comfortable and well-organized malls in the city. The layout is easy to navigate, with plenty of dining options ranging from quick snacks to full meals. I also appreciate how clean the common areas are and how the mall feels spacious even during busy hours. The shops are well-curated, making it convenient to find everything you need in one visit. Parking is manageable, and the staff around the mall are generally helpful and polite. Overall, SM Iloilo offers a pleasant and dependable mall experience whether you're here to shop, eat, or just relax.

For travelers who has a late night flight and have nowhere else to leave their baggage they have a traveler’s lounge. It opens at 9am and closes at 9pm. For 3 baggages, we only paid 60 Pesos!

Date of visit: May 24, 2025. I first visited this mall way back in 2000 months after its grand opening and it was still surrounded by the vast fields of Mandurriao district which is now the Iloilo Business Park and other Megaworld properties that sprouted immensely after the transfer of Iloilo Airport to Cabatuan municipality. This 2nd SM mall in Iloilo (after SM Delgado in the city downtown) had greatly improved, with more facilities, department stores, shops, an event area at the main atrium, restaurants, cinemas, and so much more. The mall has a good layout like that of SM Manila. Commuting here is easy and there are public transport to take you here or back to Iloilo City downtown.

SM City Iloilo has a logical layout that makes finding shops easy. The comfort rooms are surprisingly clean and well-maintained, which is a big plus. However, the heavy traffic congestion getting in and out of the complex is a major headache.
