The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) is one of the premier mountaineering institutes in the world. After buy tickets for zoo the same ticket will give you the access for HMI. There also a museum, which has an immense collection of mountaineering equipment, scales of the mountain range and anything and everything in between. Everything is very well presented. It was good to know that Tenzing was associated with HMI. They also have his shrine. Malavath Poorna is the youngest girl in the world to have climbed Mount Everest Is also trained in this institute.

Invaluable tourist spot in Darjeeling. Great place to view the glorious attempts to climb the tallest mountain peaks in India and Nepal. We also get the opportunity to see the various gear used by the countless mountaineers in their attempts to climb them. There are also the statues of Tenzing Sherpa and Edmund Hillary. We pause there in awe as we recollect their heroic feat. The entire process of mountaineering is described in detail there. There are several magnificent photographs too.

This Himalayan zoological park is good place for Visitors, inside 3 place to visit and enjoy most beautiful time

Beautiful resort, with amazing decor and friendly staff. It is centrally located. There are two lifts, one from the parking lot and another from the front entrance. The resort is spacious and spread over different levels. The parking, though available, is limited. The food is good but the buffet is too expensive compared to the choice of dishes offered. Rooms are spacious, with good heating arrangement, but the wardrobe space is limited. The mobile signal of most national networks is intermittent, but the WiFi connectivity is good. The reason for the 4 star ⭐ rating is mainly the intercom. Every time you wish to dial another room, you have to go through the operator.

I generally avoid buffets as food in buffet is most of the times average and also you tend to overeat. I stayed there for 4 nights and opted for the alacarte dining. My 2-year old son, wife and I stayed in there for 3 nights and here is my honest experience. Please note we stayed in Lloyd's cottage so the room related details are specific to the room. Rest of it is generic Hotel itself is excellent - huge and spread out hotel with a colonial heritage. impeccably maintained. Service - The BEST part. We had been quite demanding, keeping in mind we had an infant with us. Every request was kept with a smile. Amenities - Cannot imagine needing anything else from a hotel. They provided slippers, bathrobe, even umbrellas, there was a playroom for children as well. Food - the breakfast spread was excellent. The Ala carte menu was decent. Location - Not exactly on the mall but just a 10 min walk in a quieter neighbourhood. Possibly less so for fitter people. Room and view - very decently sized room. We had a balcony with a valley view. Overall we were extremely satisfied with our stay. Our heartfelt thanks to each employee.

The view from this resort was awesome specially sunset and sunrise never to be forgotten. gardens are beautiful. rooms are cosy and well lit. rooms are warm with heaters. washrooms are clean. small snacks in rooms and good night note is left by staff in room after cleaning which is very nice. only thing is hotel should look for more facilities for the disabled or old age people. i enjoyed my stay here. breakfast is delicious and managers are so friendly. my husband birthday we celebrated here and it was a treat.

I went with my European partner and my parents and we were surprised to see that most people staying there were non Indian. So I was happy I dint have to explain much to the staff to adapt food to my partners liking. The property is gorgeous with great views of the city and is very close to the main attractions.

Extremely wonderful experience. We had our small baby with us, the staff made sure that things are utmost comfortable and pleasant for us. Rooms are good, slightly small though, temperature is moderated well despite the extreme cold temperature outside. Facilities are good enough to have a nice stay. Food options are variety are also decent. I would definitely recommend this as a stay when in Darjeeling..

Mayfair Hill Resort is an excellent property in the heart of Darjeeling. The place provides a breathtaking view of the valley. The floral decoration in the entire premises is very excellent. Everything is well maintained. There is no point of error in the whole property. The place is famous among tourists and celebrities as well. Service, ambience, food is 5 Star quality. We celebrated our sister's engagement in the resort and it was a grand success and the guests was delighted by the location. Highly recommended place to visit if you are in Darjeeling.

Visited the Peace Pagoda in Darjeeling during our trip, and it truly left me feeling calm and blessed. Such a beautiful and peaceful temple—surrounded by mountains, greenery, and fresh air. The place has a very calming energy, and the white pagoda itself is so stunning and serene. I went there with my husband, and we both felt a deep sense of peace just walking around. The view from the top is amazing—you can see the entire city and even the hills beyond. It’s not just a tourist spot; it genuinely gives you a spiritual vibe. If you’re someone who enjoys quiet places and beautiful architecture, this one’s a must-visit in Darjeeling. Simple, soulful, and picture-perfect!

Check for the clouds at around 3am before heading here to get an idea whether you can see the mountains especially the Kanchanjunga. The vehicle management needs to improve. The entire tourist population of Darjeeling will be here with atleast 300 cars on a weekday and more on the weekends. So be ready to walk a bit because your driver will prefer keeping the car at the far end to ease the departure. No official observatory here when I went in the month of October 2025. You'll have some local vendors who serve maggie and momo as well. So enjoy this place and be hopeful that the weather gods bless you

Visited Tiger Hill and had a wonderful experience. The sunrise over the mountains was stunning, and watching the golden light hit the peaks felt magical. We also had pahad wali Maggie, which tasted amazing in the cold mountain weather. Overall, a beautiful and refreshing visit!

Absolutely loved my visit to Pine View Nursery in Kalimpong! Pineview Nursery in Darjeeling is a very beautiful and peaceful place to visit. It is not a big tourist attraction, but it feels special the moment you walk in. The nursery is full of different kinds of plants, especially cacti and succulents that you don’t usually see in this region. Some are tiny and cute, while others are tall and strangely shaped—it feels like walking through a little desert garden on a hill. The paths are clean and well maintained, and the staff are friendly and happy to answer questions. I was surprised to learn how many varieties of cactus they grow here. The display is arranged neatly, with colorful pots and name tags for most plants, which makes it easy to look around and learn. From the nursery, you can also enjoy a nice view of the surrounding hills, which adds to the charm. It’s a quiet place, away from the crowd, and perfect for people who love nature and gardening. Visiting Pineview Nursery was a refreshing experience. It showed me how beautiful and unique plants can be, even in a small corner of Darjeeling. I left with a peaceful mind and a smile on my face.

Avoid this place in Kalimpong. Bad experience. Staff is exceptionally rude and wasn't allowing us entry as we had just 10 minutes left. Although we were allowed later we were charged the full ticket fee. It is a really small place with very few cactus. Maintenance is very bad and seems the entry fees goes to the staff's pockets.

Every time I visit Gangtok (my hometown) there is something new happening. And so this time, I was excited to see the all new Ridg Park, which was also a flower exibition centre earlier. It is still understand construction. However, there is a good enough place to take pictures and walk around. I do miss the old construction, but we need to go along with the newness. You might see some additional decoration, it was done during the inauguration. 19th October 2025 Now the construction is over. You will find a lot many pictures... Brand new flower exhibition centre - filled with variety of orchids and also has all the heritage information and items displayed; with latest design and technology. It kept me wondering about the rich flora of our state. You will have to pay Rs. 250 for tickets (not sure whether it is different for tourist). Every one should visit once.....

This park is just awesome in beauty. The park is situated in the high mountain of Delo hill(Kalimpong). You can see wonderful view of Tista river, Kanchanjangha and hilly region. If you a nature lover, a wonderful feeling will come by walking in the park.

Lush green paradise here at Delo park. It’s well maintained and clean. Lovely experience being here during monsoons. Activities such as paragliding and horse riding happen here after monsoons. There’s a small shop where you can purchase souvenirs.

The Tsongmo lake is very calm and beautiful nestled in between the mountains. The water is crystal clear. The weather was very sunny and windy, it was tough to stable. If you are planning to visit nathula please spare some time for this lake. We ride the cable car and went to the highest pick of the mountain. The road was awesome and the scenario is marvelous. This place is very dependent on visitor. Young people can visit with no problem, but children and old people will SURELY have many problems, nausea, vomiting and fainting. Overall very nice, gives a sense of nationalism. Many small details to see.

Scenic roads leading right up to the border from Gangtok, Sikkim. The roads here are constructed and managed by BRO who do an amazing job of ensuring the road is in top condition. Army personnel manning the roads and check points are extremely helpful and polite. Good food joints dot the entire stretch.

When we reached Nathula, the entire area was covered in a beautiful white blanket of snow. It was freezing cold, but the excitement kept us warm. We had a great time playing in the snow, clicking pictures, and just soaking in the surreal atmosphere. It felt like we were on top of the world! Nathula Pass is located at an altitude of 14,140 feet (4,310 meters) above sea level, making it one of the highest motorable roads in the world. One of the main highlights was visiting the Indo-China border. We could actually see the Chinese side guarded by their army, and it was both thrilling and a bit emotional to stand so close to an international boundary. Of course, you are not allowed to cross it, and the army presence is very strict, but it was fascinating to see. The place was quite crowded, with many tourists braving the cold to witness this high-altitude wonder. Overall, Nathula Pass was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’ll always cherish. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sikkim!

Unforgettable climb to the Indo-China border. Though it was not there in our original itinerary, our car driver helped us visit Nathula Pass. It was a great decision as we got the opportunity to see a marvellous hill station. We had enough warm clothes but we were not really prepared for the thin air at a height of 4300 meters. It was a novel experience. And the slippery ice. And the presence of Indian military personnel everywhere. And the large crowd assembled there to visit the Pass. Though photography was not permitted at the top, we could stay there sufficiently long to get a clear view of the border and could see a few Chinese soldiers as well as a couple of mechanics kin the Chinese territory.

It is important to know the historical Nathula Pass between India and China that was used for trade. On 8 November, 2025, I visited Nathula Pass, there was no snow fall, temperature quit low, that is in between 5 to 9 degrees centigrade.

A small yet good stop to visit when going to or coming back from Nathula pass. This place is an inspiration to our soldiers ! You can get eating options here and can add this as a stop on your trip. There is an issue with parking here. You would need to coordinate with your driver to meet at a certain point. The police patrolling ensures the cars keep moving, so we had to be quick in getting into the car. This place is also a no drone zone. So it’s better to be informed and not carry or fly any drones in this area.

During our trip to Sikkim, one of the most peaceful and memorable spots we visited was the Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple. I went there with my friends, and though we faced around two hours of traffic on the way due to weekend rush, the experience was absolutely worth it. The temple is located at a high altitude between Nathula Pass and Jelepla Pass, surrounded by stunning mountain views. The weather was chilly but refreshing. Once we reached, we went straight to the temple, which is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh — a soldier of the Indian Army. According to the legend, Baba Harbhajan Singh was a brave soldier who died near Nathula Pass in 1968. It is believed that even after his death, his spirit continued to protect the Indian borders. The Indian Army built a shrine in his honor, and many soldiers still believe that Baba appears in dreams to warn about dangers or guide them. His uniform is still neatly kept, and every year a part of his belongings is symbolically sent home on leave, as if he is still on duty. At the temple, we read about his story and paid our respects. We were also offered prasad, which was simple but felt very special. The peaceful surroundings and the faith that people have in Baba Harbhajan gave the place a spiritual and powerful atmosphere. This visit was a perfect mix of natural beauty, patriotism, and spiritual reflection. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Sikkim.

This forest is like a rainforest!! As it’s completely different from jaldapara national park! Gorumara forest is a dense forest and completely green!! The scenery really really soothes the soul! In my opinion Must visit this place! And lose yourself in the lap of nature!!

Tourist trap. Through and through. For the Matla Tower: You must pay for a guide who only talks when you ask questions. You pay for the jeep driver to drive and talk to the guide. You’re obligated to pay for a bullock cart ride, who takes you the remaining distance to the tower, even though the jeep could’ve done that. You see some bison licking a salt lick that the locals placed. You see some captive elephants. Maybe you see a peacock and some deer… Seems very uncommon that people see rhinos. The price is still low, but visiting a zoo would be a better use of time. I should add, we planned to do a safari, but staff at the ticket counter convinced us we’d see more wildlife with the tower because it goes into the park whereas the safari apparently skirts the outside of the park? Who knows- a group at our hotel went on the 6am safari and said they only saw a baby peacock. 🤷‍♂️

There are four slots in the morning 2 slots in the afternoon there are 2 slots . 2. Perhead ticket is Rs 90 after 5 years old for children's they need to give full ticket. 3. The famous places for the jungle safari atJatraprasad and maidla watch tower we had done the jatra Prasad booking for our jungle safari and the Jeep cost was 1700 including guides fees.

Great experience on a safari . Did the 3:30 pm jeep safari followed by the cultural show where members of the Tribal groups perform their dances. For the cost, I would have liked the jeep safari to be longer and waits at the lookout points to be longer. Just paused for 10 mins and since there were no animals , we moved on. Safaris involve waiting and watch in and I felt hurried.

Okay, Gorumara is straight-up old-school jungle safari in West Bengal. The main flex here is spotting the Indian one-horned rhino, which is a rare vibe check. You definitely gotta book an elephant or jeep safari if you wanna see the real action, like bison and deer. Solo traveler-wise, it's super structured—you gotta have a guide and follow the park timings, which is actually safer when you're out alone. The lookouts, espcly the one near the Murti River, are fire for watching the rhinos hang out. It's not a place for aimless wandering, but for intentional wildlife sightings. The accommodation options outside the park gate are chill. Pro-tip: Go in the dry season for the clearest sightings. Vibe: Structured jungle immersion, rhino hunting with a camera.

Peacocks are very common. But if you are lucky you may witness Elephants, Bisons, deer & One horned Rhino. The safari ride and its guide will ensure that you get the best possible experience of the safari. The guide will just go with you, they don't share much about the jungle and the animals. The tour also includes the folk dance of the Boro tribe in the end, which would give a musical ending to the safari. The Safari route is not in the dense forest so you may miss the jungle vive. Safari starts at 6 am in the morning. 3 slots are there in the morning and also 3 slots for afternoon from 2 pm to 4 pm. Elephant safari booking done the day before safari at 6 pm at the ticket counter. No online Booking available for any safari. For afternoon safari you need to reach the ticket counter at least before 2-3 hours. ticket booking time is like - for 2 pm safari counter issues ticket at 1 pm, and so for 3 pm & 4 pm safari counter opens at 2 pm and 3 pm respectively. A photocopy of any Id prove required for all the persons for safari ticket. One person for one car needs to be in the line for booking, ( in one car 6 people can go. Children above 4 years need a ticket). total cost 1750 including guide for one jipsy car. For tribal dance they charge 50/ person that you can opt out.

Had a good experience at Buxa tiger reserve.Managed to capture elephants, deers, leopard and some beautiful birds, though the timeline is very less for the safari but the overall experience was good.

A Royal Family Day at Cooch Behar Palace Today, my family and I had the absolute pleasure of spending a full day at the magnificent Cooch Behar Palace, and it was an experience we thoroughly enjoyed. From the moment we laid eyes on its impressive exterior to exploring every intricate detail inside, the palace captivated us completely. This vast palace, a stunning example of European architecture from the Italian Renaissance, was built by Koch Nripendranarayan in 1887. Its sheer scale is impressive, with the two-story brick building (originally three, damaged in the 1897 earthquake and then renovated) covering an area of 4768.5 square meters. We particularly admired its facade, adorned with elegant Corinthian columns, both single and paired. The central long portico, serving as the main entrance, leads into the grand courtroom. The enormous Corinthian columns here, inspired by St. Peter's Church in Rome, with their four arched arches above, are truly breathtaking. The twelve-cornered dome, featuring a beautiful light window and intricately crafted small chambers, is a marvel of design. Below, the circular hanging balcony and twelve windows offer unique perspectives. We were fascinated by the royal emblem of bravery and glory carved in Bengali marble at the courtroom's center. Every artifact and architectural detail spoke volumes of its rich history. The spires on either side of the main dome further enhance the palace's majestic beauty. It was a truly immersive and educational visit for all of us!

It's a fairly maintained, little crowded palace and its grounds, worth a visit. Some of the museum's artifacts are really impressive, like the 10th century statues or the rather large gun collection. Note: no photography allowed inside the buildings.

A huge palace made available by the government for us yet we get to see merely ten percent of the site overall. Three to four rooms are open to view the antiques and royal arsenal. The garden is not well maintained. Despite the shortcomings, it's commendable that we get to see the great architecture and well planned road system, Transcending back to the previous century.

It is better to purchase the VIP tickets online which opens 7 days before. It is being sold out immediately. Better to purchase at 12.01 am 7 days before. It costs Rs.500 per head. If you go by 7 am, you can come out in 2 hours after Darshan. Tuesdays and Saturdays, there will be huge rush. The temple is maintained privately, I believe. The most powerful Shakthi Peet. Must visit at least once.

Visiting Maa Kamakhya was a journey of spiritual awakening. Nestled in Simanchal Hills in Assam it is one of the important shakipeeths. You can either get general ticket which is a bit costly or you can get VIP tickets which are available at ₹501. You can get VIP tickets online as well but you have to book it in advance at least a week ago as they sell very fast. The worship items are sold at shops located outside the temple and you can also keep your shoes here. It took us 13 hours to worship Maa Kamakhya but it was totally worth it.

Visited this zoo during with high expectations and I was disappointed to see it in a bad condition. I went with high expectations because this zoo is located in a big city and I thought that it would be filled with various unique animals but I was disappointed to see only a few deers, hog deers, snakes and some other common animals. Many cages were empty with no animals inside. The price of the ticket is ₹33 for adults and you can book it online as well. I have visited Patna zoo which I think was much better than this place. Some construction work was also going on inside the zoo, maybe after the construction is complete this place will become great but for now I think It's best to avoid this place if you are a tourist roaming around Guwahati.

Assam State zoo🦒 cum botanical 🪴 garden provides a calm environment for variety of animal🦏 , reptiles🪱 and plants🌱. I could witnessed all the animals closely. There is a provision for well maintained children's park🍄 inclusive vehicle service. It was a nice experience visiting the zoo but it has less space.

Visited the Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden recently, but the experience was quite underwhelming. The zoo is smaller than expected, and many enclosures were empty, which was disappointing. Some parts were under construction, making it difficult to explore properly. We could only see a few common animals. The place has potential but needs better maintenance, more animals, and proper management to attract visitors again.

Ticket Fare: Rs. 33/- for adults. Online ticket is also available. Same price in both offline and online. Bio toilets available inside this place. I think 2 to 3 hours needed to cover the entire area. Almost every cells were fulfilled. Really very worthy place. A good place for spending weekend. Remains closed on Friday.

FRIDAY CLOSED The ZOO in Assam was great, but nowadays it seems to be diminishing its valued day by day. On my recent visit to the zoo, I was unable to find any structured system except the bottle returning scheme. The e-carts are very irregular and the roads are very disturbing. The cages were broken and rusted, morever most of the animals were not available. I hope the govt of Assam will take necessary steps to "make the Zoo great again" Positive views can be seen as most of the parts were under construction.

Visited Assam State Zoo last weekend. Overall a good place to hang out if you love nature and animals. Lot of greenery inside and many animals like tiger, rhino, deer, bear, and different types of birds. The place is peaceful and good for families or friends. But honestly, some areas are not well maintained. Few animal cages looked old and water ponds were dirty in some spots. They should improve that part. Entry ticket is cheap — ₹30 per person, which is worth it. You can also take an electric cart if you don’t want to walk, but walking is better to enjoy the surroundings. Good for a one-time visit in Guwahati. If you’re coming from outside, keep at least 2 hours in hand. Would have given 5 stars if maintenance was better.

Guide was very nice and helpful.

Serene, clean and quiet. 1 hour drive from Shillong. This is the only one open to tourists out of several other sacred forests through out Meghalaya. A local community group manages the tourist visits. An entry fee (for each person and car extra) with guide fee is charged. The guides are actually local boys who take a group for a half n hour trail. The ground in front of the forest is do clean that it looks like outside India.

This is just outside shillong city, not so far. A sacred place for the local Khasi community. The place is dedicated to their god Labasa...they used to seek permission for hunting through animal sacrifice for Labasa. The walking trail is really beautiful.... someone have to take a guide to enter to the forest area, the guide will describe about the khasi traditions, history and the monoliths situated inside the forest. There are full and half trek options. The place is very serene and quiet. Someone must not take anything outside the forest, whether its leaves or stones or rudraksh or flowers.

How to reach - You can hire a taxi or a rented 2 wheeler to reach. We went on Sunday and got mix response from locals regarding shared taxi/sumo. So better don't hope for it. Renting two wheeler is a better option if you are experienced rider. Average renting starts nearly 800 for a scooty. Bargaining is based in your skills. Good view and peaceful, better you take food and have a quality time there. Entry is 30rs per person, 350rs guide (half trek) mandatory, parking for 2 wheeler is 20rs. The half trekking is almost 30-40 mins total in and out. Nothing allowed to take out. Rudraksh can be bought at the counter or better say from the guides help desk. At the end they ask to donate some money voluntarily but if you don't want to be asked to so better don't go to them 😜. Rest the guide will tell you about sacred forest. Nothing exciting but can be visited if you have time.

Your entry to Meghalaya when you drive into Shillong from Guwahati. It is a sports complex which has been developer around a man made lake fed by rainwater. Plenty of parking, great views, decent washrooms and the speed boat experience was excellent and felt safe as well. Charging an entry fee seems excessive if a person is boating then perhaps it could be refunded( because it is quite high 50 pp, while boating is 200). Lovely clean air and clear skies make a very good experience.

Borapani Lake, also known as Umiam Lake, is an amazing place is located just about 15 km before reaching Shillong from Guwahati, Assam. The hilly place is very nice.

Once part of the state of Assam, this man made lake was included into Meghalaya when 3 southern districts of Assam were made part of the newly formed state. A place of unparalleled natural beauty and bio-diversity. MTDC has built a resort "Orchid Lake resort" on the banks.

Water is pretty. Boating was quite expensive. The boat guy did not behaved well tho, we asked him to slow down a bit cuz the boat was literally jumping and we couldn’t balance well. He did not respond , it was like he was pretty annoyed from the start. He did not slow down and when we asked him to slow down the second time he replied ‘its like this only’. It was only one round for 8min after paying 600 for 3 people. There is no good eatery inside. I’d give my experience 7.5/10.

The place is on the way to Mawphlang Sacred Forest. Approx 18km from Shillong. Its a nice spot. What all we can see and do 1. Entry fee - 100 per adult 2. 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler can be taken. 3. Refreshment and some locally made products can be bought from the shops at the entrance. 4. Three stage waterfalls is there. First is at the same level while for others you have to go down through stairs. 5. Garden on the other side of stage three water fall. 6. Bathing and Swimming is not at all allowed. 7. Average crowding.

Simple, accessible, but not a very “natural” waterfall experience Elephant Falls is one of the easiest tourist spots to visit in Shillong. The waterfall has three levels, but honestly, it doesn’t fully feel like a natural, untouched waterfall because of the heavy tourist infrastructure around it. Still, it’s pleasant and good for quick sightseeing. What to know: 1. It doesn’t look like a raw natural falls — more like a landscaped tourist spot. 2. It can be crowded at times, especially on weekends. 3. Toilets are available right before the entrance, which is convenient. 4. Tickets are minimal, good for budget travellers. 5. The steps are easy, well-maintained, and not tiring at all — suitable for all age groups.

This is a must go destination while travelling in Shillong. The local Khasi name of the falls is Ka Kshaid Lai, which literally means waterfalls with three stages. You can not see all three stages together but you have to go down through stairs to visit each stage ......all three stages are very beautiful. The largest one is the third and lowest stage. This area also have plenty of parking and good food options. Also good for buying souvenirs.

Elephant Falls is an okay-type waterfall - not particularly impressive compared to many others. I've seen far more beautiful waterfalls in Sikkim, and most of them don't even charge a visiting fee. Here, they take ₹100 per person just to enter, which feels unreasonable for what the place offers. On top of that, you need to pay for parking even if you leave your motorcycle on the roadside. Overall, the experience felt more like a money-making setup than a genuine tourist attraction.

Indeed an elephant, This elephant falls has 3 falls, first at the top, then the mid- layer and then you land to the bottom. You need to trek for 15-20mins, the stairs are proper so won't be a difficult trek, it would be total of 150-200 steps. If you plan to visit elephant falls, please wear proper shoe as sandals might slip, rest everything is perfect 🙂

Don Bosco museum offers many displays. It's multi floor building. It's a lot of knowledge and great collection of North East heritage. Most recommended place to visit in shillong. Entry fee to museum 100 /- for adults, 50/- for children upto 5th STD. Camera fee 100. There are 7 floors and last floor has sky walk. Amazing experience.

My wife and I visited the museum in Oct 2025. At first we were really concerned how we would be able to climb th 7 storeys but soon after entering a staff member kindly directed us to a lift that took us to the top sky walk and we could enjoy all floors (a MUST visit) strolling down. A men's or Ladies toilet on every single floor makes it Senior friendly. The collection is a comprehensive and superb one. We came back knowing a lot about all 7 North East (sister) States! Highly recommend a visit.

This is a must visit in Shillong with a ticket cost of just 20 rupees per head, I highly recommend to explore this place in order to understand the cultures and heritage of all the North Eastern States We went there with minimal knowledge and we got to experience most of the cultures. Also would recommend taking an option to click pictures. It’ll help you in making memories We took many pictures and had really fun at the view point as well. Spare at-least 2-3 hrs It’s air conditioned and well maintained, The staff is friendly too and there’s a store with lot of options to buy from.

It's a well maintained museum and the skywalk gives a vast panoramic view of the Shillong town. It's a must visit if you're in Shillong. The ticket is cheap with extra charges for mobiles and cameras. The museum beautifully showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Seven Sister states and one brother Sikkim. Each floor is dedicated to different aspects of tribal life, their belongings and how they manage their livelihood. One can understand the difference between the cultures of the seven states in a very lucid way.

Feels like home… but with better WiFi and a cooler owner I stayed here for a few days, and honestly, I’m starting to think I might just “accidentally” forget to leave. The house is so cozy it feels like it gives you a hug the moment you step in. Everything is spotless (seriously, I dropped a cookie on the floor and considered eating it—don’t judge 😅). And the owner? Absolute legend! Not only super helpful and kind, but also has a great sense of humor—basically part-time host, part-time stand-up comedian. They made sure I felt comfortable, guided me around like a local, and even shared stories that made me laugh harder than Netflix. If you’re looking for a place that’s safe, warm, and comes with free smiles, this is it. Just be careful—you might end up liking it so much that you’ll start calling it “home” too!

I stayed with my friends here for a night. Very neat, hassle free - clean homestay. This is the closest stay to the waterfall. I stayed in 5 different places in all 5 days of my Meghalaya trip, but Krangsuri homestay stood out. Food was amazing and host Youri speaks perfect English and so friendly! She helped us the next day being our guide to the waterfall and explained all the history of it! I recommend this homestay for families and also solo travelers! One homestay that I don’t mind going back again!!
