The White Desert of Kutch is a popular tourist destination in India, known for its vast expanse of white salt desert that becomes visible after monsoon season. The area is particularly popular during sunrise and sunset. Despite its remote location, the desert attracts thousands of domestic tourists every day during peak season. Despite the crowds, the magnanimous size of the desert makes it a soothing and beautiful experience. The cool weather in November only adds to its allure.
A truly mesmerizing and one-of-a-kind experience! The vast expanse of the white salt desert under the open sky is breathtaking, especially during sunset and full moon nights. The Rann Utsav adds vibrant cultural charm with music, food, and crafts. A must-visit for nature lovers and those seeking unique landscapes.
Yogi V — Google review
The Rann of Kutch, located in Gujarat, India, is one of the world’s largest salt deserts. Famous for its breathtaking white landscapes, it transforms into a cultural wonderland during the annual Rann Utsav, showcasing Gujarati art, music, dance, and cuisine. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets, moonlit nights over the white sands, and the warm hospitality of local villages. A must-visit destination for nature lovers, photographers, and culture enthusiasts alike.
Ashish D — Google review
A surreal place that hits you the moment you step onto that endless white stretch 🤍✨ The silence, the breeze, and that shimmering glow under the sun make it feel like you’ve landed somewhere completely unreal — one of the rarest landscapes you’ll ever get to experience. The best time to visit is definitely during winters — Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan and early Feb ❄️ That’s when the weather stays pleasant and the salt flats look their absolute best. These months also happen to be the peak season, so expect more crowds, higher demand for stays, and busy evenings, especially during festivals and long weekends. Facilities in and around the area are quite good — clean pathways, viewing points, rest areas, and plenty of options for food, stay, and shopping 🛖🌙 Everything is organised well enough for families, groups, and even solo travellers. Overall, it’s a magical experience — a place that feels peaceful, vast, and unforgettable, and something you should visit at least once in your lifetime ❤️🤍✨
Bhadra M — Google review
The place is beautiful, however due to rains, there is still water and uou can't see the white Rann of salt yet. Nevertheless, beautiful view during full moonlight

We visited on 25th Nov 2025. Full of water.. no white dessert due to late monsoon itseems. Not sure why the govt still charging 140rs for each person. 10rs is also a waste. There is work going on still. Plan your visit accordingly

Way better than jaisalmer, please visit White run. You can enjoy plus knowledge and also remembered till death, mesmerising view and also very knowledgeable for astrologers.
CHIRAG R — Google review
We visit here nov 25 last week. There is no white sand for us due to water. Maybe in Dec it's is good time to visit.
Yogesh P — Google review
The endless stretch of white salt under the open sky is surreal and mesmerizing. Whether you visit during sunrise, sunset, or on a full moon night, the desert glows with a beauty that words can’t fully capture. I visited during the Rann Utsav, and the whole setup was vibrant, cultural programs, handicrafts, local food, camel rides, and traditional Kutchi music made it a complete cultural experience. The tent city is well-organized and gives you a mix of luxury and authenticity. If you're a nature lover, photographer, or just someone seeking a peaceful yet unforgettable trip, this place is a must-visit. The Rann of Kutch stays in your heart long after you’ve left.

Vijay Vilas Palace, located in Mandvi about 65 kms from Bhuj city, is a former summer residence of the Jadeja Rajas of Kutch. This 450-acre palace is now a popular tourist attraction and royal family residence. The palace's stunning architecture, including red sandstone construction with intricate details and colored glass windows, has made it a sought-after filming location for Bollywood movies like Lagaan and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
Beautiful Heritage Palace by the Sea Vijay Vilas Palace is a stunning royal retreat near Mandvi beach — known for its grand architecture, lippan-style carvings, and panoramic sea views from the terrace. The palace and gardens are well-kept, offering a peaceful glimpse into Kutch’s royal past. A must-visit spot for history lovers and photographers alike! 📸🌿
NAIYA B — Google review
Visited this beautiful Vijay Vilas Palace during our school trip, and it was an amazing experience overall 🏰✨ The palace is a masterpiece of royal architecture — tall domes, artistic carvings, and intricate balconies that truly showcase the grandeur of Kutch’s royal heritage 👑🌴 The best part was climbing up to the top balcony, from where you get a stunning view of the Mandvi Beach and the vast Arabian Sea 🌊 — it’s absolutely picture-perfect 📸. Inside, we explored the royal rooms and saw antique furniture, photographs, and old artifacts — it really felt like stepping back into history 🕰️📜 The palace is well maintained, and the staff were polite and guided us properly throughout our visit. There’s also a small garden area and places to sit around, which made it a relaxing stop during the trip 🌿🙂. A few scenes of famous Bollywood movies were shot here too — which made it even more exciting for us students to see those real locations 🎬🎞️ --- Tip: 🎟️ Entry ticket is required (nominal). 👟 Wear comfortable footwear — a bit of walking & stairs. 🚌 Good parking space available for school / group buses. 📸 Great spot for group photos — don’t miss the terrace view! A perfect blend of history, architecture, and scenic beauty — a must-visit when in Mandvi or Kutch 🌅🏰✨
Bhadra M — Google review
Vijay Vilas Mahal in Mandvi is not just a palace, but a wonderful combination of natural beauty and Rajput style architecture. The fact that this palace is located on the banks of the Rukmini River and close to the Arabian Sea increases its appeal manifold. Architecture: Due to its beauty, this palace has been filmed in many Bollywood films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, which is a testament to the grandeur of the palace. Its design is in the Rajput style, in which beautiful lattice carvings, Bengali domes and stained glass windows are seen. The red stone of the palace looks very beautiful in the sunlight. Atmosphere and Peace: Since it is close to the sea, there is a cool breeze and a peaceful atmosphere. The pleasure of seeing the beautiful view of the sea and beach from the terrace of the palace is something else. This palace was the summer residence of the kings of Kutch, and was designed with comfort and luxury in mind. Maintenance: Despite the Kutch earthquake, the palace has been well maintained and the cleanliness of its premises is commendable. My experience: If you come to Kutch and want to enjoy history along with the beaches, then Vijay Vilas Palace is a must-see. I love watching the sunset here the most – the color of the sunlight falling on the red stone palace and the Arabian Sea in front... the view is amazing! This palace will make you feel royal and romantic. Tip: After visiting the palace, be sure to go to the nearby Mandvi beach and have a camel ride or have breakfast in the evening.

Beautiful beach clean water. The beach is pristine and very clean. We enjoyed our walking on the beach . It was peaceful and very relaxing to sit on the chairs listing to the gentle sea waves, watching the sun disappears into horizon and breathing in the cool and refreshing air. Tourist activities in Mandvi are limited. Nice beach with family members and friends. Enjoy

It's a very beautiful beach and the sunset is beautiful to view. It is always crowded with lots of people laughing taking photos making videos and atmosphere is very nice. Here you can play in the water and there are so many water activities also there by paying you can enjoy the water activities. You can have a camel ride or a horse ride. The Shyamji Krishna Varma Memorial, located 4 kilometers from Mandvi, is a tribute to the late freedom fighter Shri Shyamaji Krishna Varma. The memorial was a dream project of the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi. It houses an exact replica of India House in London, which was established by Shyamji himself.
One of the best memorials I have ever come across. It's beautifully built with very simple and streamlined story narration by the guides who ensure you know what you are viewing. Photography is not allowed inside (not by phone also). A must visit place and specially as a tribute to the great people who were instrumental to India's independence.

A very well maintained campus, de to remote location going back can be difficult unless one has private cab. The campus has a small kids play area, big canteen, and good big parking space. Only suggested for those interested in history, as most of the thing here is a replica.

Shyamji Krishna Varma Memorial Mandavi Kutcch The British ruled over India for over two hundred years. They ruthlessly exploited India’s economic resources and mercilessly oppressed the people. Many individuals took on the might of the British to free India. Shyamji Krishna Varma chose to take this fight to British soil and made London his base. Shyamji Krishna Varma was born on 4th October, 1857 in Mandvi Kutch district of Gujarat. He was one of the foremost freedom fighters in the history of the freedom movement of India with high sense of patriotism and selfless service for the nation. He had organized a revolutionary center in “India House” at London and propagated the cause of India’s independence through his writings in his publication journal called The “Indian Sociologist” Shyamji Krishna Varma was not alone in his work. He join by many other great radical Indian Nationalists who are committ to free their motherland from the yoke of British rule. Many great revolutionaries made the supreme sacrifice and laid down their lives to see their country free, both in India as well as abroad. The Memorial’s objective is to pay tribute to the contribution of Shyamji Krishna Varma and also to educate the young generation about those great Indians who sacrificed everything for the country’s freedom must say that this is Best Places to Visit in Mandvi that every tourist don’t miss. Well made, well maintained memorial. The complex has a replica of India House, London, which was the residence of Shyamji Krishna Varma. There is an auditorium on the ground floor of the building where they show visitors a 20 minute video detailing the life & activities of the man. But the best bit is the expansive uninterruping view of Mandvi beach from the 2nd floor. Do take advantage of the cafe & toilet facilities in the complex. Mandvi is the perfect destination for one picnic and family

Chhatardi Bhuj

Ancient Ruins
Chhatardi Bhuj is a captivating historical site nestled near Hamirsar Lake in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India. This remarkable complex features cenotaphs dedicated to the royal family of Bhuj, constructed in the 18th century under the reign of Rao Lakhpatji. The term "Chhatedi" translates to umbrella-shaped canopy, aptly describing the unique dome-like structures that grace each memorial.
Was tough finding entry to the place but since I was walking, I was able to find the entry. Entry is really small gate and there is no entry fee. Not very crowded (which is weird coz it's beautiful). Properly shows the history. The ruins are very beautiful and pictures. Must visit for sure. Just avoid going in summer and carry water while going.

This place no entry ticket this side has bad structure and not protected vell but nice to see. This structure Build in 18th century.
Kamal C — Google review
Tucked away in the historic town of Bhuj, Chhatardi is a hidden architectural treasure that offers a quiet yet captivating glimpse into Kutch's royal past. Often overshadowed by more commercial tourist spots, Chhatardi is a must-visit for those who appreciate history, architecture, and solitude. 🏛️ What is Chhatardi? Chhatardi refers to a collection of royal cenotaphs (memorial structures) built in the 18th and 19th centuries to honor the deceased rulers of Kutch’s Jadeja dynasty. These sandstone structures are intricately carved and set amidst a peaceful open ground, evoking a sense of forgotten grandeur. Though many were damaged during the 2001 Bhuj earthquake, the ruins still retain a haunting beauty, and some structures stand impressively intact. 🎨 Architecture & Atmosphere The cenotaphs blend Rajputana and local Kutchi architectural styles, with beautifully carved pillars, domes, and floral motifs. The artistry is detailed and elegant, with some chhatris (umbrellas) housing marble statues of the royals they commemorate. The site is especially photogenic during sunrise or sunset, when the golden light casts long shadows and highlights the texture of the aged sandstone. 🌿 Surroundings Chhatardi is surrounded by a somewhat unkempt but naturally charming landscape. Unlike heavily commercialized monuments, it remains peaceful, uncrowded, and serene—perfect for photographers, history lovers, and those seeking solitude. You may encounter locals relaxing or children playing nearby, adding a touch of life to the otherwise somber setting. ✅ Pros Rich historical and architectural value Ideal for photography and quiet reflection Free entry and easy access from Bhuj town Great spot for offbeat travelers ❌ Cons Poorly maintained in some areas Limited information or signage on-site No guides or tourist facilities Vulnerable to further damage without preservation efforts 🔍 Insider Tips: Visit during early morning or late afternoon for the best light. Bring your own water/snacks; there are no amenities on-site. Hire a local guide from Bhuj if you want detailed history, as the site lacks explanation boards. 📍 Location: Just a few kilometers from the Bhuj city center – easily reachable by auto-rickshaw or local transport. 🧭 Final Thoughts: Chhatardi, Bhuj is more than just a photo spot — it's a quiet witness to Kutch’s royal legacy, waiting to be rediscovered. While it deserves better conservation, its raw and unpolished state adds to its timeless charm. If you’re in Bhuj and want to explore beyond the typical tourist path, Chhatardi is worth your time.

Situated amidst the rich historical backdrop of Bhuj, this place is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and casual travelers alike. Stepping into Chatardi felt like taking a journey back in time. Exploring the site, we were captivated by the stories of ancient rulers and the cultural heritage they left behind. From its historical significance to its serene ambiance. Don't miss out on this hidden gem during your visit to Bhuj!

First of all, it's difficult to find an entry gate to this place. For convenience I have attached two photos of entry and a nearby sign board of a society to identify the entrance. It's a good place to see once, not maintained much, but can enjoy nice structure of that time. You can take as much photographs you want. As there was no guide available, we were not sure of history. Should see notes available on Google and wikipedia.

Bodies of Water
Harmirsar Lake, located in the western end of Kutch, Gujarat, is a 28-acre reservoir created in the 16th century. It serves as an oasis in the hot and dry summers of Bhuj. The lake was built by kings to meet the domestic water needs of the town's people and was well developed with channels and tunnels that brought water from three rivers to fill the town's reservoirs.
The ruler of the Jadeja clan Rao Hamir (1472- 1524) was also the founder of the historical town of Bhuj. He was also the person on whose name the famous Hamirsar Lake was named after his descendant Rao Khengarji II (who also began the Jadeja rule in Kutch) got the lake built. Incidentally the Jadeja community was believed to be the descendants of Lord Krishna. Hamirsar Lake was envisioned as an oasis of peace and tranquility in the hot saline desert of the Rann of Kutch. Khengarji II commissioned several canals and tunnels so that water from 3 river tributaries could be gathered together to pump water into the lake. The town of Bhuj was also supplied water from these water systems. Subsequently the town of Bhuj was also named as the capital of the kingdom of Khengarji II.

Hamirsar lake Bhuj: Hamirsar Lake is the heart of Bhuj town and located in the western end of Kutch, Gujarat. Bhuj is known for hot and dry summers. This lake is considered an oasis between saline and arid Kutch. The kings built the lake to fulfil the domestic needs of people of Bhuj in ancient times. Hamirsar Lake was well developed with a channel and tunnels that used to carry water from three rivers to fill the town's water reservoirs. But after the earthquake of 2001 in Bhuj, this water system was gravely disturbed distorted. The municipality and people of Bhuj took initiatives to revive the water system to its original form to fulfil the needs of its people once again. This was achieved in 2003. The water of Hamirsar Lake became potable. This manmade lake was named after Rao Hamir, a Jadega ruler who ruled around 450 years ago. Rao Hamir is considered the father of Rao Khengarji, the founder of Jadeja dynasty in Kutch. A similar marvel between the saline and Kutch, Hamirsar lake is a synthetic lake based on the name of Hamir Rao, a Jadeja ruler who governed around 450 years prior. Exclusively made for individuals of Kutch for extinguishing the homegrown requirements, presently Hamirsar Lake is a delight living in Kutch as a vacation destination. Jadeja were unmistakable leaders of Kutch, and Hamirsar was the dad of Rao Khengarji, and the author if this Jadeja People group. Carrying out beneficial things to individuals of Kutch, the Hamirsar Lake was worked with this perspective as it would be a source to the homegrown necessities of individuals, The summers of Kutch are warm and seething, with the bone-dry space of Kutch, it's not really intense to track down any beneficial developing, and Hamirsar Lake around then was the principle source as it was a desert spring of greenery with the Rann's bone-dry and saline ground. A few trenches and passages were understood from 3 feeders to produce water gulf into this artificial channel. Since that time, supply of water asset got more worthwhile with this lake, making Bhuj as capital of Realm of Khengarji II. A phenomenal spot to chill on a warm evening, Hamirsar Lake is the place where individuals go to swim, or sit under a tree and appreciate the water, just as where numerous ladies do their clothing. Strolling along the lake's edge is an extraordinary method to get starting with one spot then onto the next, with the Aina Mahal and Praga Mahal, the Kutch Exhibition hall, the Ramkund Stepwell and Slam Dhun Sanctuary, the Swaminarayan Sanctuary and the Alfred Secondary School all found near the eastern side of the lake; a stroll from the Aina Mahal to the Swaminarayan Sanctuary (passing the wide range of various destinations referenced) requires about thirty minutes. Further around the opposite side of the lake is the Sharad Baug royal residence, and the way to the imperial chhatardis. The lake is spread over a space of 28 sections of land and has a lovely nursery in the center. The nursery was before called as Green Island, presently has been renamed as Rajendra Park. Hamirsar Lake is the most loved cookout spot for individuals of Bhuj where one can appreciate and unwind under the shade of trees. It is likewise an ideal spot for evening and morning strolls. ina Mahal, Prag Mahal, Kutch Historical center, Smash kund Step well, Swaminarayan Sanctuary, Sharad Baug Royal residence and Imperial Chhatardis while strolling on the lakeside. Guests can likewise spot numerous transient birds in the lake during winters. Augun of Hamirsar is an extraordinary celebration celebrated in Bhuj when the lake floods in rainstorm. This celebration has been followed since the hours of old rulers. The Ruler around then would play out a Puja when the lake flooded and desserts were circulated as prasad to individuals of Kutch. Puja was done as a thanksgiving to the god-like and to invite new water into the lake.

Hamirsar lake is situated in Bhuj city of Gujarat State. It is the heart of the city. However cleanliness is lacking in some places of the lake. On weekends many people from the city itself come to this place and enjoy the beauty of it.

"The Kutch Museum is a hidden gem for anyone interested in the rich history and culture of the Kutch region. The collection is impressive—ranging from ancient artifacts, traditional textiles, and tribal crafts to coins, sculptures, and musical instruments. The section on the Kutchi script and local communities was especially fascinating. The building itself is a beautiful piece of colonial-era architecture, adding to the experience. It's a peaceful, informative place and a must-visit for history and culture lovers. Just make sure to check the timings before you go, as they can vary."

A compact, well-laid out local history museum right opposite Hamirsar Lake — easy to spot and walkable from central Bhuj. 📍 Founded in 1877, it’s actually the oldest museum in Gujarat and houses a wide range of regional artefacts — coins, inscriptions, tribal textiles and traditional crafts. 🏺 Visitor practicals: typical opening hours are around 10:00–13:00 and 14:30–17:30; it’s usually closed on Wednesdays and some public holidays, so plan accordingly. 🕰️ Entry is very inexpensive for locals (small nominal fee) and higher for foreigners; there may be a separate camera/photography charge — keep some cash handy. 💸📸 Displays are informative rather than flashy — great if you want a focused, quiet look at Kutch’s history and tribal art. Expect a 30–60 minute visit unless you’re into details. 🧭🏺

Straightforward Review – One-Time Visit Only This is an old office, probably built during a king’s era. Inside, they’ve kept a few items—portraits from the royal period, some stones, coins, swords, and basic displays across the ground and first floor. Honestly, there isn’t much to see. The entry fee is just ₹5, so for a one-time visit, it’s fine. A small but important point: the security staff here are women, and while security is necessary, security and politeness are not enemies. Being respectful doesn’t reduce safety. A bit of politeness from their side would make the experience much better for visitors. Overall, nothing great, nothing terrible—just a basic place you can see once because the entry fee is minimal.

Fantastic place to learn about the rich and varied history of Rann of Kutch. The entire place is superbly curated and maintained. The staff is warm, kind and courteous. We loved our history lessons here filled with artefacts from the years gone by.a must visit place for every history lover. 100% recommended.

It was founded by Maharao Khengarji in the year 1877. The museum consists of the region’s delightful diversity in craft and local living with inscriptions of Kshatrapa back to the one A.D. along with coines [Kori- A kutch local currency] as well as scripts [Having gujarati alphabets]. Other than that, there's an anthropological section, archaeological section, textiles section, weapons section, music instruments section, shipping section, and stuffed animals section. More particularly, there's a section devoted to the tribal community where one can see ancient artifacts, folk arts, and crafts and information about tribal people, who are a major part of Kutch's history and culture. Visiting Hours for tourists: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM & 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Closed on Wednesday and Public Holidays. Having ticket charges of Rs 5/- . Parking is somewhat difficult to get in nearby areas.

Prag Mahal, a stunning palace located in Bhuj, is a remarkable example of 19th-century architecture that beautifully marries Gothic and Italianate styles. I visited Prag Mahal today with my family, and it was an incredible experience. This stunning 19th-century palace, built in an Italian-Gothic architectural style, stands as a testament to Bhuj’s rich history. The intricate carvings, grand chandeliers, and the towering clock tower offer a glimpse into the opulence of the bygone era. The highlight was the beautiful Durbar Hall, which still exudes royal charm. Prag Mahal was commissioned by Maharaja Pragmalji II in 1865 and designed by Colonel Henry Saint Wilkins, a British architect. The palace is primarily built with sandstone and features impressive European influences, making it unique among Indian palaces. Though it suffered damage during the 2001 earthquake, restoration efforts have preserved its grandeur. From the top of the clock tower, the panoramic view of Bhuj is breathtaking. It’s a must-visit place for history lovers and those who appreciate architectural beauty. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bhuj!

Nestled in the heart of Kutch, Aaina Mahal, or the Palace of Mirrors, is a stunning 18th-century palace that showcases an exquisite blend of art and architecture. Constructed under the reign of Rao Lakhpatji in 1752, this opulent structure boasts intricate mirror work and lavish decorations featuring precious stones and elaborate chandeliers. The palace's interior dazzles with its Hall of Mirrors, where reflections create a mesmerizing visual experience.
Despite the extensive damage caused by the Kutch earthquake, the Aina Palace is a living symbol of Bhuj's identity and its wonderful art. Built during the time of Maharaja Lakhpatji, this palace is truly unforgettable. Amazing Mirror Work: The name of the palace itself is 'Aina' and its main attraction is its main hall, which is studded with mirrors. As soon as you enter the room, it feels like you see your reflection in hundreds of mirrors, which creates a magical scene. The design and craftsmanship of this room is such that at night, when you light a lamp, the entire room is illuminated. Influence of European Art: This palace has been built by the craftsmen of Kutch adopting the European style. Here you will find Dutch clocks, glass brought from Venice, and old remnants of electrical systems, which show the international connections of the kings of Kutch. Current Experience: A part of the palace was damaged after the earthquake, but the beauty of the part that is open is as captivating as ever. My Experience: A visit to this palace will give you a glimpse of Kutch's rich past. The glitter of the mirrors and the collection of royal objects is amazing. It is nice to sit here in peace and think about the hard work of the artists at one time. Tip: Don't miss the Prague Palace, located right next to the Iina Palace, which is a magnificent example of Italian style. Allocate at least 2-3 hours to see both the palaces together.

"This is a heritage building and it needs to be maintained. We could only see a few rooms and articles, but we wanted to explore more. Unfortunately, the condition of the building was very poor… the Queen’s palace (Rani Mahal) was almost completely in ruins. It felt very disheartening, but the time spent there was still very pleasant."

Aaina Mahal is a unique heritage spot with beautiful glasswork and a rich glimpse of Kutch’s royal history. A stunning old palace in Bhuj filled with mirrors, intricate artwork and beautiful detailing. The moment you step inside, the vintage charm hits you — it truly feels like stepping back in time 🏛️✨. The halls are decorated with reflective walls, delicate carvings and royal-era displays that are maintained quite well. Each corner has something eye-catching, making it great for photography 📸🌟. The small museum sections give a decent glimpse into the region’s history and artistry. The layout is simple to follow and the staff guides you politely whenever needed 🎧📝. Outside areas are peaceful too, with enough space to walk around and admire the architecture. Ticketing is quick, and the place stays reasonably clean despite the footfall 🌤️🪟. A lovely heritage spot in Bhuj that’s perfect for anyone who enjoys old-world craftsmanship and quiet cultural spaces 🧿✨.

It's a great place to visit and I would you say, you must visit this place if you're traveling in Bhuj. This place shows our historical stories by different different 3D modal, statutes. The sound quality is great, and it gives goosebumps, hearing the historical stories. They have special night light shows. The best things to see is this night light show, which will held around 8:00 PM. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend but one should definitely attend the night light show. The guides and staffs are nice and provides all the knowledge about the place. This place is clean and atmosphere is amazing here. You need to get ticket for entry, they've two different tickets. One for garden and outside view, which includes tents and shops in which you can see and purchase handcrafted items. And another ticket includes entry inside bhavan and you can see shows, and our historical stories and statutes of Bharat Mata holding 4 lions. Mobile Phones, Cameras, water bottles, and other things are not allowed inside. You can only carry Purse with you when visiting Bhavan. They provide free service to carry your valuable items such as cameras and phones. Also you'll be given shoes socks and you've to wear shoe shocks inorder to maintain hygiene and cleanliness, which is great. This is very unique thing I've noticed, I've never seen this before. Also you can find a canteen inside, if you're planning to spend whole day or if you're hungry. Canteen has everything you need such as Gujarati dish, Punjabi Dish, and other things.

You should not forget to visit Bhujodi Craft Park while you’re in Bhuj. Not too far from the city, the Vande Mataram Craft Park is simply amazing. In my opinion, it’s one of the best tourist places not just in Gujarat but in India. Entry tickets are available near the main gate and the rates per person seem to be reasonable after the visit. There is so much to see and explore once you’re in. The entrance gate is a replica of India Gate and the decorative hut type ticket office itself tells you about the quality and importance of the place you are going to visit. The Radha Krishna temple near the entrance makes your day joyful. There is a round building in the premises which replicates our Parliament House. The Indian map with plants creeping on the walls is another attraction. Statues of Mahatma Gandhi with others going for Dandi March look natural and real. A big statue of Mahatma Gandhi sitting with his favourite Charkha is another noticeable feature. The lookalike Parliament building is in fact a museum. Unfortunately we couldn’t see it from inside as it was closed. There is another replica of Red Fort which has statues of Mahatma Gandhi along with other freedom fighters. Photos can be clicked sitting with these statues. Mahatma Gandhi’s struggle to free India and his work with other leaders are displayed here. Guides are available inside the museum to explain everything. As it was getting dark the lights were on and this made the whole place look like a dream. The fountains were looking great and were tempting tourists to click photos. The restaurant inside the building with yummy items is a great place to enjoy Chinese and Indian cuisine. The Bhungas and the beautiful well maintained garden all around the place are unimaginable. Neat and clean premises with large open area is good for children to enjoy their time. At last it was time for us to witness a more interesting event, the Laser Show. The tourists were requested to sit on the ground to watch the 30 minutes light show. It was all about our freedom fighters and the historical places of India. Great show which must be seen by all tourists. Photography is allowed inside the craft park and minimum time required to be spent is about 2 to 3 hours. Parking is available on one corner of the Bhujodi Craft Park. Narara Reef

Nature & Parks
National Parks
Narara Reef The only drawback is that the road leading towards Narara Reef is poorly maintained, so reaching the site is abit difficult. But once we reach the experience is totally worth it. A wonderful experience exploring the marine life at Narara Reef. We were amazed to see starfish, octopus, crabs, puffer fish, and beautiful sea grapes during the low tide walk. The place is a paradise for nature and sea lovers. Our guide Sabir explained everything very well and made the visit truly informative and enjoyable. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves marine adventures and wants to witness the beauty of nature up close! 🐙🐠🌾

Good spot for day picnic. U must reach at 7.30-8 am.. there isn't any Shop or cafe nearby so bring your own food n tea coffee..end of winter is best time. There are very few sea creatures one will find. Children above 6 are suitable. After tracking we visited khijadia bird sanctuary.

Narara reef is a quite, peaceful and uncommon. You can see live sea life during low tide period such as aquatic organisms, plants and colourful sponges and corals, sea cucumber, sea grapes, sea brittle star fish, octopuses, Puffer fish, etc. It is a different type of experience to go walking inside the sea during low tide.
Meena D — Google review
Wonderful place to explore marine life, we saw lots of marine creatures and also touched and feeler it. You should reach around 6am so that you can come out till 11am, when sun shines more.

Amazing place . The guide was very helpful and did a great job . We saw many sea animals like sea cucumber, puffy fishes ,octopus and many more . There is a marine interpretation centre and from there u have to go for 3-4 kms trekking from that point . Please wear crocs or hard slippers while trekking .

It was an amazing experience to see a ocean animals like puffer fish, octopus, corals, sea cucumber and crabs live. You may hold them in your hands, feel them how beautiful they are. This place is worth visiting with your family & friends. But you must know the timing of low tide then only u can see these ocean creatures. In high tide they are not visible. U have to walk up to 3 to 4 km in water. Best time is morning 7 o'clock at that time u can explore more. U can have picnic there with your friends & family.Water level just above your ankle. Must carry ur shoes to walk in the water. Kids have enjoyed a lot. For us also it was very new experience, never thought before of holding these creatures in our hands. It was just Wow....... Nature is Beautiful😍❤😍 love it.
SHIKHA S — Google review
OMG!! Where do I begin, it felt like the most underrated place in India! Had it been in some other country people would be going crazy. Please ensure you reach the place during low tide & have at least 2-3 hrs to explore. So we reached the counter, got our tickets & a guide (taking a local guide is must they charged us Rs 500 but rates are from Rs 300) & began our walk towards the reef, (do wear waterproof shoes as the path is slippery & you have to walk in water. They also provide shoes at ₹30), we saw so many marine life that we never knew existed like transparent prawns, joint animal, flatworm, octopus, puffer fish, oysters, crabs, live corals like moon coral, pineapple coral! It is an out of the world experience. This place is a must visit.

It was great experience there. All the rides are great. No problem in any rides. And few rides are dangerous but thrilling. Great. This is the best theme park in Gujarat. It is situated near Rajkot. Here if you go in group then price is ₹800 for adult and ₹600 for children. But if you are individual then it would cost around ₹1000 per person. One of the best place in Morbi to hangout. I would strongly suggest to visit this place when you are in the city. There is a safe and enough place for parking.
Sunny V — Google review
As one enters Morbi swaying pylons of the suspension bridge and the beatific riverfront is a nostalgic reminder of Victorian London. Located 64 km from Rajkot is the town of Morbi with its quaint cobbled alleyways and buildings reminiscent of 19th century Europe. Morbi’s former ruler Sir Waghji inspired by Colonial influences designed a technologically planned and versatile city. The visitor is welcomed into the city through a grand suspension bridge, an artistic and technological marvel of that period. European influence in town planning further contributed to a central square known as the Green Chowk, approachable by three gates each designed in its own inimitable style incorporating both Rajput and Italian elements.

Crystal Mall is an enchanting destination with impeccable interior design and illumination. The captivating interiors are truly mesmerizing, especially the expansive and breathtaking waiting area. While the bathroom was satisfactory, it lacked partition between two toilets. The theater boasts comfortable and remarkable seats, delivering exceptional movie and video quality complemented by impressive sound systems. However, the air conditioning in the waiting area needs improvement as it pales in comparison to the cinema hall's superior cooling system.
Crystal Mall delivers a refined and enjoyable shopping experience. The mall's design is contemporary, with wide walkways and open spaces,Entry and exit processes are smooth and well-monitored. The Crystal Mall is a decent spot for quick shopping trips. It has a fair selection of stores, including a few clothing shops, a convenience store, cinema and food court with basic options. While it’s not very big or fancy, it’s clean and easy to navigate. Parking is usually available, though it can get busy on weekends. Good for everyday needs but not the place for a full day of shopping or entertainment.

Each plate is prepared with attention to detail, and despite the wide range of cuisines, the quality and flavor of every dish we tried was impressive. Whether you're going with a group of picky eaters or just want to try something new, this spot has something for everyone. The prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes and the variety on offer. Highly recommended for food lovers who enjoy exploring different tastes from around the world—all in one place!

It is a must visit and best place for kids to see different cultures around the world and that too under one roof. The Dolls Museum is one of it's kind with amazing dolls from around the world. A must visit place in Rajkot. The cultures of different countries are being reflected with the eye catchy doll setups. The place reflects different cultures from around 102+ country with 1600+ Dolls in museum. It's on 2nd and 3rd floor. There is a lift available. Monday is closed. The staff is also very well informed and they narrated us the complete story behind the set up of this museum. The main thing is no doll being purchased, but all dolls are being gifted by all rotary clubs around the world… The entry fee is Rs. 30 per person. There is extra Rs. 30 charge per camera if you want to take photographs. Cool place....

A unique museum!! It's a rare opportunity to see a Dolls museum, here in Rajkot. Good to visit with children. The museum is situated on 2&3 rd floors. The lift was not working when we reached there. We had to climb steps. It was built by an ex Rotary president of Rajkot for his daughter. He wrote mails to Rotary branches of the world and hence many international branches sent dolls representing their country and regions. It takes around 1 hour to see all the exhibits. The rooms are air conditioned. The tickets cost ₹30 per adult and ₹15 per child. It costs another ₹125 if you want to click photos. The dolls represent their country's costume and culture. Children can spend good time there. However make sure they have emptied their bladder before. Because the toilet here is a medieval era one, on the ground floor. I wish the Rotary club would pay attention and renovate the toilet as kids come to this place.

In one word it is simply A Magical Journey Through Cultures! The Rotary International Dolls Museum in Rajkot is a fascinating wonderland for children of all ages: Over 1,600 dolls from 102+ countries, each showcased in traditional attire and set up with miniature scenes that let kids explore global cultures at a glance. Recognized in the Limca Book of Records for its unique and expansive collection. The displays include everything from folk dance dolls (like Bhangra and Dandiya) to Barbie and Einstein figurines, string/glove puppets, and even a rare Rocking Zebra—only one of five in the world! The themed showcases are beautifully lit and educational, with info about the country, culture, music, and costumes for each doll. Friendly and helpful staff guide visitors through the exhibits and share the fascinating stories behind many dolls. Includes interactive spaces like a cinema hall showing documentaries and cultural films, a Foreign Language Learning Centre, and a souvenir shop with stickers, postcards, and miniature flags. The Rotary International Dolls Museum is a safe, clean, and well‑maintained spot with plenty of visual stimulation and educational value. It’s perfect for a fun and cultural outing with kids. Every visit feels like a mini‑world tour where curious children can learn about cultures around the globe through beautiful doll displays. Note: Highly recommended Mainly for Kids.

A total different experience. Must visit, just 30₹ pp entry fees. This museum is surely made due to low and attraction towards dolls by rotary club. Definitely not a commercial thought process. Much appreciate the concept. They have 2 floors of museum, soveniour shop inside and collection of 1800+ different dolls from approx. 108 countries. Totally different and unique experience. Worth visiting. Please note its closed on Monday.

It’s been great to see a father’s commitment to her daughter for building such a dolls museum because he wasn’t able to make her daughter saw museum in Delhi. Many activities are going on here with just deposit and if full attendance then they refund full amount. Really well preserved all dolls in museum and one Zebra ride kind of activity is great for kids.

Located in the heart of Rajkot, The Rajkumar College is a prestigious private educational institution with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. The campus showcases a blend of Indian and European architectural styles and has been providing quality education for generations. The city itself is known for its vibrant atmosphere, bustling with people engaged in various activities such as business, leisure, and sports like cricket.
The science stream is often considered the most challenging but also the most rewarding for students with a keen interest in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. It opens up doors to various lucrative career options such as engineering, medicine, research, and technology.

Rajkumar College (known as RKC) is one of the oldest K-12 institutions in India. It was established in 1868 by the erstwhile Princes and Chiefs of Kathiawar. This institution constructed in the Indo Gothic style is spread around 25 acres and is difficult to miss if you are in Dr. Radhakrishnan road in Rajkot. While this institution was only meant for boys (read Princes) in the olden days it is currently a co-educational boarding and day school affiliated to the CBSE. I had an external view of this institution since this is a functioning school and not exactly a tourist location

Beautiful lush green campus....Premiere school...it could possibly be the best school in India for holistic development only thing lacking is Comprehensive Academic Coaching for its students (on other parameters it is at par with the best schools in the nation).
Haresh P — Google review
Dear Public, It is with a mix of disappointment and determination that I address you regarding recent events involving Rajkumar College (RKC) in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. As some of you may know, I, H.H. Prince Manvendra, have recently received an invitation to an event at RKC, indicating that I could bring my husband, H.H. Prince deAndre, Duke of Hanumanteshwar, as my plus one. However, despite this indication on the invitation card, I have been informed that my husband would not be allowed to accompany me to the event. As of the writing of this letter, there has been no further information from RKC regarding this matter. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to share my thoughts and intentions regarding the situation. In solidarity with my husband and in defense of the rights of all individuals, particularly those within the LGBTQIA+ community, I have made the decision not to attend the event. While this decision comes with a sense of sadness, it is also fueled by a deep-seated commitment to fighting for equality and inclusivity. As someone who has personally experienced discrimination and bias, I understand the importance of standing up against injustice and advocating for change. My absence from the event is not a sign of defeat but rather a reaffirmation of my dedication to championing the rights of all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. In India, discrimination against LGBTQIA+ individuals is unequivocally prohibited under the Constitution. Article 19 guarantees the right to freely express one's identity, and recent legal milestones have further advanced the rights of queer and transgender individuals. It is disheartening to witness discrimination persist within institutions like RKC, especially when they should serve as bastions of knowledge, respect, and dignity. I urge RKC and all educational institutions to reflect on their policies and practices, ensuring that they align with the principles of equality and respect enshrined in our Constitution. Let us strive together to create a society where every individual is valued, celebrated, and treated with the dignity they deserve. In solidarity and with unwavering resolve, H.R.H. Crown Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of Rajpipla H.H Prince deAndre Duke of Hanumanteshwar

The Watson Museum in Rajkot is a hidden gem for history enthusiasts and culture lovers. Located in the heart of the city, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's rich heritage. The museum houses a remarkable collection of artifacts, including ancient coins, pottery, sculptures, paintings, and textiles, each telling a unique story of Gujarat's history. The displays are well-organized, and the descriptions are informative, making it easy for visitors to understand the significance of each item. One of the highlights is the collection of artifacts from the Indus Valley Civilization and the tribal art section, showcasing the diversity of Gujarat's culture. The building itself is a colonial-era structure, adding to the charm of the visit. The staff is courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience. The ticket prices are very affordable, making it accessible to everyone. While the museum is fascinating, it could benefit from better lighting and improved maintenance in some areas. Still, it is an excellent place to spend a couple of hours exploring history.

Watson Museum, Rajkot Visiting the Watson Museum was a delightful experience! It offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich history and culture of Saurashtra and Gujarat. Located in the beautiful Jubilee Garden, the museum is housed in a charming colonial-style building that adds to its heritage feel. What I liked: A great collection of archaeological artifacts, coins, sculptures, traditional textiles, and ancient relics from the Indus Valley Civilization. Informative displays on Rajkot’s royal heritage, art, and craftsmanship. Well-maintained galleries that can be explored comfortably in 1–2 hours. Very affordable entry fee (₹5 for Indians). Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Convenient location — just a few minutes from Rajkot Junction. What could be improved: Some exhibits could use better lighting and clearer descriptions. Certain sections feel slightly outdated and could benefit from modern displays or digital guides. Closed on Wednesdays, 2nd and 4th Saturdays, and public holidays — plan accordingly. Tips for visitors: Visit in the morning for a peaceful experience. Combine your visit with a walk in Jubilee Garden and a quick stop at Kaba Gandhi No Delo nearby. Photography is generally allowed, but confirm before taking pictures. Overall, Watson Museum is a must-visit spot in Rajkot for anyone interested in history, culture, and art. It beautifully preserves the essence of Gujarat’s glorious past. Highly recommended! 👏

Loved this museum! There was tons of historical knowledge and information. Plenty to show for the history of India and the influences of the British empire. The staff were not the most helpful however the exhibits more than make up for that.

It's a collection on documentary prototype of mahatma Gandhi life journeys wh8ch are well explained and described. Museums has 40 camp which one of them having unique information. Each camp having separate guide for giving information and guiding. Entry fees for museum is 25₹. There is also free bag storage counter. Staff is good and they treatment is good. Nearest bus station, Railway station or airport is Rajkot. Local transports are there to achieve your locations. No OLA or Uber is available. Shortly is nice place

The Watson Museum exhibiting collection of items from around Gujarat. The items are good quality, and arranged thematically. The items on display is a very eclectic mix of items that would not be out of place in a major museum, but arranged in a compact package. Sadly, there’s very little information except for the labels. The religious statues, marble statue of Queen Victoria and the Durbar Hall of the princely states of Gujarat are the most interesting items in the museum. The museum is located inside Jubilee Garden and can be done in about 30 minutes. The cost of entry is trivial, but taking photos is twice the cost of entrance for a foreigner.

Mohandas Gandhi High School, formerly known as Alfred High School, holds a significant place in history as the educational institution where Mahatma Gandhi received his primary education. The school's impressive Gothic Norman style architecture and well-maintained premises offer visitors a glimpse into the bygone British colonial era. The library houses an extensive collection of literature related to Gandhi's life, providing insights into his formative years and moral values.
It was amazing experience during my visit. They have maintain this place very nicely. Each and every corner is spotless clean. Also they use technology in very good way. All the stages of Gandhi ji they displayed in digital way also in the evening you can see leser show in same premises. However I was not able to see the show but I visited all rooms and guide was with us and explained everything. It is a really nice place to know about Gandhiji and gandhiji's life. It is very good museum. This is being made by Gujarat government. Every Indian or any citizen of tge world should visit one time or more time to know about the nation father of india and a centuries man.
Jayesh M — Google review
The Mohandas Gandhi High School is a former school converted museum dedicated to the entire life of Gandhi. The name of the school is Alfred High School, but commonly called by the name of it’s most prestigious graduate. The entrance fee is even more discriminatory than the usual 10x for foreigners and I was conflicted about paying 15x compared to a local. I initially started off visiting a couple of rooms and then an employee began to guide me through the remainder of the museum because it was part of the ticket. There are over forty rooms in total, each depicting the life of Gandhi in chronological order. Each room has a good amount of information and exhibits on display. Here’s the problem with the guide. The guide takes you through each room and talks about each room. Each room has more information than the guide gives and I would often want to spend more time in the room, except for the guide wanting me to move to the next room. Don’t get me wrong, the guide spoke good English and did a good job of explaining the contents and theme of the room. I just wanted to do things at my own pace. Overall, the museum is excellent, but the price for foreigners and the guide rushing me through the museum was too annoying.

A must must visit place in Rajkot. Earlier known as Alfred school, now turned into a museum now known as Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi Museum. Now this place and building wholly dedicated to the life of Mahatma Gandhi and his journey, life, principles, struggle and teachings. Best part is inside the dome they have special screening of learning’s and teachings of Gandhi through really beautiful light show which is a must attend. When we were there sadly not many people were there, probably awareness needs to be created. For a soothing environment and learning of Gandhi you should go to this Museum. #Rajkot #Museum #tourist #spot #historic #building #gujarat

The best area which remain untouched by visitors -is the library. The library contains each & every book written on Mahatma Gandhi Ji. In between your visit to the Alfred School & it's light show, you must visit the library & get hold of some few pages of great books written on him.

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Mahatma Gandhi Museum in Rajkot. The museum beautifully showcases the inspiring life journey of Mahatma Gandhi — from his school days in Rajkot to his time in Africa, his principles of Satyagraha, and the influence of his guru. The displays, visuals, and storytelling make history come alive. It was both educational and deeply moving to see how Gandhiji’s values shaped his life and the nation. Truly a must-visit place for anyone who wishes to understand the real essence of truth and non-violence.
