Nestled atop a hill and overlooking the Arabian Sea, Ratnadurga Fort is an impressive stone fortress built in 1670. This massive structure, shaped like a horseshoe and spanning 1300 meters in length, was once a stronghold of the Maratha Empire. Although it has seen better days, its remnants still tell tales of history while offering breathtaking views of sunsets over the sea.
Shree Bhagvati Devi Temple is situated on Ratna Durg fort only. It was a place not housing residences and shops unlike many other big forts. The fort was built as a big watch tower to trace enemy movements. It's a kind of bastion. It has a small periphery of about a kilometre to walk. It has a brief history of a temple built there and a maratha chieftain who controlled the fort.

Some what Horse shoe shape type fort has excellent sea view and good histrological background. Light house located at others side of the Fort. Mata Bhagwati Devi Mandir located near the entrance area. This fort is also known as Bhawati Fort. Water pond with stone wall still found in good condition. Neat , clean and Location is peaceful near Ratnagiri Maharashtra.
Rajendra D — Google review
It's a lovely place but needs some serious attention to make it wonderful place. The fort from inside can be maintained well to enhance the beauty. Can change an entry fee to maintain. The views from the fort are just lovely. Completely in awe of such views, no less than a foreign country. Public utilities like washroom and drinking water, seating benches or so can be set up.
Anuj D — Google review
Ratnadurg Fort’s history begins with its original construction during the Bahamani rule. Its strategic significance was cemented, however, after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured it from the Adilshahi in 1670. It served as a crucial Maratha naval stronghold for coastal defense and monitoring pirates. Structurally, the fort is unique for its distinctive horseshoe or semi-circular shape, spanning across a headland and flanked by the Arabian Sea on three sides. The massive complex is longitudinally divided into two main parts: the upper citadel (Balekilla) and the surrounding, lower fortifications (Parkot). The strong architectural defense utilizes durable laterite stone for its massive outer walls and multiple key bastions, like the formidable Rede Buruj. This construction was purposefully designed to withstand heavy monsoon waves and the relentless pounding of sea attacks, reflecting brilliant defensive engineering . Ratnadurg is also famously known as Bhagawati Fort because it enshrines the highly revered Bhagawati Temple within its premises. The complex’s largest modern landmark is the operational lighthouse, which stands atop the fort and offers stunning, panoramic views of the sea and the entire Ratnagiri shoreline. Today, Ratnadurg stands as a proud sentinel of the Konkan coast, blending centuries-old historical ruins with active pilgrimage and tourism. Its rich maritime legacy and breathtaking vistas confirm its importance as an indispensable historical and cultural landmark in Maharashtra.

One of the very few decent places to visit in ratnagari. There is limited parking on the hilltop. But the views are quite decent for a quick walk. Not much climb. Main gate recreated. Avoid any religious festival period to avoid crowds

The most scenic and beautiful. Ch.Shivaji, the great Maratha warriors monuments and the forts build by him during his tenure. शिव सृष्टी !!

Ratnadurg Fort is located in Ratnagiri. The fort offers a beautiful view of the land and sea. The area around the fort is very beautiful and peaceful full of scenery.
Danish F — Google review
This historic fort, located in Ratnagiri, offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea from its 12th-century ramparts. While there is little historical information available onsite, the scenic views from the top are well worth the visit. A replica of the fort is reportedly being built at the base on the other side. The fort is a wonderful destination for those seeking unexpected peace and natural beauty. It's best to visit in the morning or evening to avoid the humidity. Ample parking is available.

The waterfront park nearby provides a perfect spot for relaxation, while the temple in the vicinity adds a touch of cultural charm to the area. Additionally, there are restaurants with delightful views of Unkal Lake where visitors can savor Chinese and Thai cuisine.
Beautiful lake to relax and spend time. Visited here when train got delayed. Well maintained and lots of place to relax. The view of lake is amazing. There is a kids park too. Great place to spend free time. There is a small food court too. The ticket price is just ₹10!

Unkal Lake Hubli: Perfect for Picnics & Peaceful Walks! Unkal Lake is a popular and well-maintained spot in Hubli, ideal for picnics, walks, and quality family time. The lake is large, complemented by a clean garden, playground, and walking pavements right at the entrance. Entry is a nominal ₹10 per person, and car parking is conveniently available in front. While the lake itself is well-maintained with regular de-weeding and attractive new fountains with lights, it's disheartening to see visitors still scattering garbage and plastic, despite efforts to keep it litter-free. A great place to relax, if visitors contribute to its cleanliness.
Saish G — Google review
A great place to spend time with family and friends! The Unkal Lake and garder is the place where you can find real peace and happiness. The place is totally covered with greenery and we can see many view points there so that we can enjoy the lake view from there and can feel the atmosphere. The lake and garden is really wonderful but I suggest to maintain the Unkal Lake more as the water seems to be polluted, and also request each and everyone (including me) to maintain the place and follow the rules so that the lake and garden look better and it's our own responsibility to maintain our area and surroundings clean including public parks, gardens and more. My overall experience was pretty good and I really enjoyed a lot. Most recommended garden to visit for the one who are new to Hubballi, and i recommend those too who haven't visited this place. There are even many more kids playable area so that kids can enjoy and have fun. Best walking trails are available for morning and evening walks and you'll really enjoy it. Huge Parking facility is also available vehicle parking. The ticket is Rs.10 per person and Rs.5 for vehicle (the day I visited). * Online Payment Option is not available. ** No entry ticket and vehicle parking ticket were provided by the ticket counter agent, who was unresponsive.* Overall my experience for this visit was worth watching and I really enjoyed here! Beautiful lake with wonderful surroundings. It’s so clean. Ample parking space for vehicles.

Great place for walkers and jogger’s . We could only make 1/4th round of the entire lake . According to the security of the lake the entire periphery of the lake is about 6.5 kms . The lake closes at 07:00 pm . If you are planning to cover the entire round then have ample time before you take the full circle. The lake is just next to Hotel naveen . The pavement have been well laid . There are lights out along the track so that the move may be smooth . There is a sun set view point at the enterance at a heightened location . There is an eatery/restaurant at the entrance where you can grab snack before you set out for walking . Entrance fee is 10/- and parking fee is also 10/- . If you are in Hubballi and not sure where to go in the evening then this is a good place to explore .
Vijay K — Google review
I am a resident of Jaipur and have been visiting lake for long walks ever since childhood. I have seen people from all walks of life come to lake for morning and evening walks. I like to walk the talk here with friends and family. The environment of the lake is very conducive for deep introspection. Watching the sunrise or sunset gives me an exhilarating experience and makes me feel one with God and Nature. Of late you can see the water shimmering like silver if you go around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and makes the whole area look so calm and serene and beautiful. At the other end of the lake there is now a Buddha Park with a very beautiful calm and serene statue of Lord Buddha in sitting pose. At the entrance you will find the lake club, restaurant, lots of vendors selling eatables, and a big play zone for kids where you can enjoy with kids. Also, there are ducks in the lake which you can feed or go for a boat ride. There are plenty of things to do here. It has become an activity centre for people. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Nestled in the heart of Kolhapur, the Shri Ambabai Temple, also known as the Mahalaxmi Temple, is a stunning 12th-century Hindu shrine that captivates visitors with its intricate sculptures and rich history. Revered as one of the Shakti Peethas or Dakshin Kashi, this temple holds immense spiritual significance for devotees seeking liberation from desires or fulfillment of their wishes.
Beautiful and divine temple with rich history. The idol of Ambabai is mesmerizing and the atmosphere inside is very peaceful. Well-maintained and clean. Gets very crowded on weekends and festivals, so early morning darshan is best. Parking can be difficult near the temple. Overall, a must-visit spiritual place in Kolhapur.
Bharati G — Google review
-Get down at main entrance, we mistakenly had dropped down backside gate. -Senior citizens are allowed to sit in the entrance if any large queue was there. -Inside temple, womens are separately in queues to have Darshan as its Mahalaxmi Temple. -Drinking water facility available when you come out of Darshan. -Several shops available inside for shopping devotional items. -Peda Prasad nearby exit of Darshan is the cheap and best which was sold by local guys. -Also, Laddu Prasad sold by Temple committee. -Best part is free Bhojanalaya as like in Shirdi was available and taste was very good. (Variety Rice, sabhji, butter milk, sweet.) -Timing 12PM to 3PM -This is located in backside of temple which is of 50m distance from temple. -Free Tokens are given in main entrance and backside gate. -Volunteers/Members inside Bhojanalaya strictly instructs all devotees to not waste food. One should complete his/her food and allowed to get up for handwash. - Plates for children were asked there parents before giving in order avoid wastage of food. - But this Bhojanalaya is present in 1st floor, which is a very big minus point for those where not able to step up. - Footwears are to be kept outside Bhojanalaya.

Beautiful and very very old temple. Powerful vibes can be experienced. Crowded throughout the day. We had gone in the afternoon and early morning and both times the temple was crowded. We were blessed to have a security officer help us out of the blue as my mom couldnt stand and wait in the queue for long hours. Once inside you can feel the essence of an old temple and the idol is so so mesmerising! Truly blessed to have got a chance to visit the divine Mahalaxmi!

"The Mahalakshmi Ambabai Temple is one of the three and a half Shakti Peethas. 🛕 We reached the temple at 5:00 AM, and the early morning time, the pleasant atmosphere, and witnessing the goddess's worship and aarti made our hearts feel completely serene. 😊🌸 There is very little crowd at the temple in the morning, and this is when you get the good fortune of witnessing the goddess's worship and aarti. ☺️ Therefore, you should definitely visit the temple during the morning hours. 😊"

The caves are very well preserved and reflect the rich culture. Must visit place. Spend your evening at the Agastya lake. Very calming and beautiful sunset.

The Badami Cave Temples are a true architectural marvel and a window into India’s ancient history. Carved into red sandstone cliffs, each cave tells a story through stunning sculptures, intricate carvings, and peaceful spiritual vibes. Dedicated to Hindu deities like Shiva and Vishnu, as well as Jain figures, the site perfectly reflects the harmony of diverse faiths from the 6th century. The view from the caves is breathtaking-overlooking Agastya Lake and the majestic fort hills around it. As you climb from one cave to another, the artistry seems to get even more impressive. The highlight is the magnificent statue of Nataraja in Cave 1 and the beautiful Vishnu avatars in Cave 2 and 3. The atmosphere is calm, clean, and great for photography and learning about history. You may need to climb a bit, so comfortable footwear is recommended. Local guides are very helpful if you want to understand the stories behind the carvings. Overall, Badami Cave Temples are a must-visit heritage destination in Karnataka perfect for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys exploring India’s rich cultural past. Truly a place where nature, art, and devotion come together!

Beautiful architecture that makes you so proud to know the legacy of this nation and is history. We took a female guide - Munira ( can't remember her name) who explained everything really well. The most amazing nugget is how everything has been carved from one rock. Even the ceilings have intricate and mesmerizing sculptures/carvings...all done with a simple hammer and chisel. It was humbling and a matter of pride. I do hope the government takes steps to both preserve the monuments and to get the world heritage tag. The surrounding area is peaceful. Just keep a lookout for the monkeys - they won't do anything unless you happen to have food packets with you. The guides will give you a full tour of all 4 caves. There's a fair bit of climbing and some of the steps near the 3rd cave are steep. But do try not to miss the 3rd cave as the carvings are utterly breathtaking

One of the best monuments I have visited in my life... Very fine encarvings in the caves and all the sculpture represent a unique story in itself and it tells us our ancient history and culture. The scenery around the Agastya lake and bhutnath temple is so much beautiful and it gives a calmness and serenity in your busy life. The caves are really beautiful and I felt really great that I witnessed the beauty of nature and human artisanship at one place I loved the Badami Cabe temples and the complex surrounding

Must visit place. Panoramic view, peaceful place. The Badami Caves are ancient rock-cut temples carved into red sandstone cliffs. They showcase stunning sculptures dedicated to Hindu and Jain deities, reflecting Chalukyan artistry.

The Badami Cave Temples are an architectural and historical marvel — a must-visit destination for anyone fascinated by ancient Indian art, culture, and history. Situated in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district, these magnificent rock-cut temples date back to the 6th and 7th centuries during the reign of the Chalukya dynasty and stand as a testament to the brilliance of early Indian rock architecture. Carved into striking red sandstone cliffs overlooking Agastya Lake, the complex consists of four main caves, each distinct in its design, deities, and intricate carvings. Cave 1 is dedicated to Lord Shiva and features breathtaking sculptures, including a magnificent 18-armed Nataraja. Caves 2 and 3, devoted to Lord Vishnu, showcase exquisite depictions of his various forms such as Trivikrama and Narasimha — among the finest carvings in South India. Cave 4, dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras, represents the later phase of Badami’s artistic evolution. The craftsmanship, precision, and storytelling reflected in every wall and pillar are extraordinary. The panoramic view from the caves — overlooking the serene lake and rugged terrain — is simply mesmerizing and makes the climb well worth it. The site is well maintained, though visitors should be ready for some walking and stair climbing. It’s best to visit early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Basic facilities like parking and rest areas are also available nearby.

Shree Tulja Bhavani Mandir in Tuljapur, Maharashtra, is one of the most famous and powerful temples in India. It is dedicated to Goddess Bhavani, the family deity (Kuldevi) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The temple has a long and rich history and is believed to be over 800 years old. The stone temple is beautifully built and well maintained. The carvings on the walls and the peaceful spiritual energy inside make the visit truly special. The atmosphere is filled with devotion, and the darshan of Goddess Bhavani gives a deep sense of peace and blessings. Thousands of devotees visit every day, especially during Navratri. You can take a VIP pass (₹200–₹500) for faster darshan, or join the regular queue, which can take about 2–3 hours during busy times. The temple area is kept clean and organized, though the roads and surroundings could be better maintained. Jai Bhavani 🚩 Divine goddess place, thousands of people visit on a daily basis. Parking is somewhat far away from the temple. This place has a very respectful history and its legacy needs to be admired, but the place is always dirty and garbage is lying around, this is mainly because of the uncivilised people visiting this place and this needs to be changed.

🌸 Shirdi Sai Baba: A Divine Beacon of Peace and Spiritual Awakening 🌸 In the sacred town of Shirdi, nestled in the heart of Maharashtra, stands a holy sanctuary — the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple — a place that transcends religion, caste, and creed. It is not just a temple made of stone and mortar; it is a living realm of divinity, compassion, and universal brotherhood. People from all walks of life, regardless of their background, are drawn here in search of peace, healing, and inner transformation. Sai Baba of Shirdi, revered as a Saint, Fakir, and Satguru, is the embodiment of love without conditions and faith without fear. His presence continues to inspire millions across the globe to lead lives rooted in truth, humility, and devotion. Baba never identified with any particular religion — he often said, "Sabka Malik Ek" — “God is One”. These simple yet profound words echo through time, reminding us that the divine resides in all beings. 🕊️ The World of Peace and Spiritual Harmony To step into the world of Sai Baba is to step into a space of deep inner stillness. His teachings were not filled with complex rituals or doctrines; rather, they focused on compassion, tolerance, patience, forgiveness, and faith. The very air of Shirdi carries a vibration of calmness and spiritual elevation, guiding the restless soul toward serenity. Baba taught us that true spirituality lies in selfless service, in helping others, in feeding the hungry, in comforting the grieving, and in uplifting the downtrodden. He saw no difference between rich and poor, Hindu and Muslim, or educated and uneducated — to him, all were children of the One Supreme Power. 🌿 Life Lessons from Sai Baba: Learning to Truly Live The timeless wisdom of Sai Baba is a guide to navigating the challenges of modern life with grace and dignity. Here are some of the most cherished lessons we can draw from his life: Shraddha (Faith) and Saburi (Patience): Baba constantly emphasized these two pillars. Have unshakeable faith in the Divine, and wait with patience; everything unfolds in its time. Love All, Serve All: He urged people to rise above ego and hatred and instead, serve humanity with love. Service to others is service to God. Forgive and Let Go: Holding on to anger or revenge only poisons the soul. Sai Baba often forgave even those who wronged him — a true lesson in humility and spiritual strength. Equality and Unity: Baba broke down all social and religious barriers. His very life was a message that we are all one, united under one Divine light. Contentment and Simplicity: He lived a humble life, teaching us to find joy not in material wealth, but in gratitude, simplicity, and inner contentment. --- 🙏 A Personal Journey with Baba For many devotees, Baba is more than a saint — he is a companion, guide, healer, and divine protector. Whether you're facing illness, emotional turmoil, or spiritual confusion, turning to Baba with a sincere heart brings light into the darkest moments. His presence is not bound by time or space. You may feel it in the stillness of a prayer, the kindness of a stranger, or the silent answers that come in meditation. Baba listens to every heart that calls him, and his grace flows silently yet powerfully. --- 🛕 In Closing: A Temple in the Heart While the Shirdi temple is a sacred pilgrimage for millions, the true temple of Baba is the human heart. When we live by his teachings — of love, service, and truth — we carry his spirit with us wherever we go. In doing so, we become channels of the very peace and light that Sai Baba offered to the world. May Sai Baba bless you and your loved ones with health, harmony, guidance, and unwavering faith. May his light shine on your path and lead you to the divine peace that resides within. 🕉️ Om Sai Ram! 🕉️

There are many gates to enter the temple but if you want to have a free darshan then enter from gate no. 7. The charge for VIP darshan is 200 rupees. You have to deposit your mobile in the clock room where the charge is 5 rupees per phone. You get darshan in 30 minutes. The management is very good, there is a provision to sit in the line inside and there is also a washroom and there is also a provision for many fan coller..

Shirdi Sai Baba Temple is a peaceful and divine place to visit. Near Gate 6, you’ll find mobile lockers available for just Rs 5 per phone, along with free shoe stands. For free darshan, head to Gate 7, which you can reach from Dwarkamai Temple, if Dwarkamai is in front of you, go left and take the first right. You’ll pass the mobile lockers first, and then Gate 7 is right there. On weekends, the wait time for free darshan is usually around 3 hours, and the entire process can take 3-4 hours. We also visited once on a Monday morning around 6 AM, and it only took about 1.5 to 2 hours for the complete Darshan. If you prefer paid darshan, you can either book online in advance or book near temple, enter through Gate 6 when you arrive. Wait time is much lesser than free Darshan but it'll still take almost 2 if crowded. Inside the temple, there is usually some waiting time before darshan, so visitors are asked to sit in waiting halls. Opposite these halls, there’s a counter where you can get free unlimited tea and biscuits. They also sell chips and water at prices much lower than market rate. After darshan, don’t forget to pick up your free food coupons next to the neem tree. Near the exit, you will also receive packets of prasad and vibhooti. Additionally, there’s a laddu counter near the lendi garden entry, opposite the neem tree, where you can get the famous Shirdi laddu.

Bidar Fort

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Bidar Fort, a historic fortress dating back to the 15th century, is renowned for its Islamic monuments and innovative water-supply system. It served as the administrative capital of a significant region and boasts impressive defensive features such as a triple moat carved from solid red rock and extensive walls. The fort's fairy-tale entrance winds through three gateways, leading to 37 bastions, numerous wells, and a vast magazine.
Worth a visit, fort is huge and built very well. Astonishing work. It has several layers to protect the rulers from enemy attacks. It is Kakatiya dynasty site captured by Tughlak. There is a small museum which has hindu relics and weapons used in that period. Small cafeteria is available inside for snacks and beverages. No entry or parking fee.

Its a massive fort complex, replete with numerous structures including a jail, a common hall and a massive 12 ft (3.6m) long canon on the far side. It offers serene view of the nearby wilderness and valleys. A very unique triple moat structure and winding pathways inside this fort may make you feel very cramped at the start but the moment you enter inside there is a lot of open space. Quite an underrated spot.
Vishal C — Google review
Bidar Fort is one of the most underrated historical gems in Karnataka. The fort complex is massive and beautifully spread out, with impressive architecture, intricate carvings, old mosques, palaces, and gateways that reflect the Bahmani Sultanate’s rich history. The calm atmosphere and panoramic views from the fort walls make it a peaceful place to explore. It’s a great spot for history lovers, photographers, and even casual visitors who just want to enjoy an offbeat heritage site. On the flip side, maintenance could be better. Some areas are neglected, with overgrown grass and litter in corners. Information boards are limited, so unless you go with a guide, it can be difficult to understand the historical significance of each structure. Basic amenities like clean washrooms, drinking water, and food stalls are lacking inside the fort, so carrying your own water is a must. Overall, Bidar Fort is a must-visit if you are in or around Bidar. With better upkeep and tourist facilities, it has the potential to be one of the top heritage attractions in South India. ✅ Pros: Stunning architecture & rich history Peaceful and less crowded compared to other forts Great for photography and exploration ❌ Cons: Poor maintenance in some parts Limited information boards & guides Lack of basic amenities (washrooms, water, food stalls)

What a calm and blissful place. What I found a bit odd, is the fact that even in this scorching hot summer, temperatures of about 40+, they don’t allow shorts (even above knee length). The langar hall is humongous! Parking might be a challenging during daytime and specially at peak times. The cleanliness and upkeep of the place is amazing.

One of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting places I’ve ever visited. The Gurudwara's architecture is absolutely stunning – from its shining white marble to the golden domes and intricate carvings, every detail reflects devotion and grace. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant and calm, perfect for meditation and prayer. The entire premises are very well-maintained – clean, organized, and serene. The langar service is humble and heartwarming, offering food to all with love and equality. A truly sacred place where spirituality meets stunning architecture. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace, beauty, and blessings. Satnam Waheguru 🙏

A must visit place it you are in the city of nanded
Shivam R — Google review
Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a beacon of equality, justice, and compassion. His teachings emphasized respect for all human beings, regardless of religion, caste, or gender. The behavior I witnessed at the Gurudwara stands in stark contrast to his principles. Acting with such partiality and rudeness is disrespectful to his legacy and diminishes the very values he lived and taught. The Gurudwara in Nanded is truly beautiful inside, but based on my experience, the staff and some people around were extremely partial and rude towards non-Sikh visitors. I visited of my own choice; no one forced me to go. Yet, once inside, it is unacceptable for non-Sikh visitors to be ignored, dominated, or treated rudely simply because of their religion. At a place of God, there should be no partiality, and everyone should be treated with respect. My intention was only to offer my gratitude to God, but the rudeness and disregard shown toward non-Sikh visitors was deeply disappointing. In summary, while the Gurudwara is magnificent, I sincerely request that all visitors, regardless of religion, be treated with equal respect.

Lonar Lake is a hidden gem in Maharashtra, formed by a meteor impact over 50,000 years ago! The unique blend of alkaline and saline water makes it a rare geological wonder. Surrounded by lush greenery and ancient temples, it's a great spot for nature lovers and history enthusiasts. The trek down to the lake is scenic, but wear good shoes as the path can be uneven. A must-visit for anyone exploring offbeat destinations!
Lalit S — Google review
The near perfectly circular Lonar Lake is a saline lake formed out of a crater made by a meteorite impact in the area over 50,000 years ago. The lake is a part of the Lonar wildlife sanctuary established to preserve its unique ecosystem. The lake's water is blue green due to the colour of the algae thriving in its waters. It is surrounded by ancient temples, including the Gomukh Temple which showcases intricate carvings and sculptures. The lake is home to both endemic birds like peacock, migratory species like the flamingo as well as reptiles like monitor lizards. Trekking around the crater is a very popular sport.

Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Riverfront temple of the Goddess Saraswati, Hindu goddess of knowledge & learning.
The main deity of the temple is godess Saraswati the godess of knowledge and learning. Parents with their young kids visit the temple and perform a very special kind of Pooja called "Aksharabhyas" which means the initiation of formal schooling. In Hindu Sanskriti, it is also known as Vidyarambh Sanskara, one among sixteen Sanskaras of human life. Today it was Tuesday and there were a few pilgrims at the temple. So we had a great Darshan and enjoyed peaceful spiritual moments in the Presence of the Goddess. There are ample staying facilities run by the temple authority also there are enough hotels, guest houses and Dharmashalas surrounding the temple. The river Godavari flows just 2 km away. Overall a great pilgrim experience. Five Stars.

Happen to visit this temple recently.. It's one of the most famous pilgrimage places in South India. This temple is an abode of goddess Sarswati (The goddess of education). This temple is usually floated with devotees who bring their kids for Akshara Abhyasam ( A ceremony to seek blessings before they step into the school). Very powerful diety.
PAVAN K — Google review
It is the only temple in the world where the custom of having children's initials written for their education is practiced. Traditional Indian families from all over the world come here to have their children learn to read and write. Similarly, those who have lost their mental peace and are disappointed in life come here to undergo mantra initiation in the meditation hall. Here, mantra initiation and accommodation are provided free of cost to the initiates. There are many who have completed the 41 days of meditation as per the rules of the fast and have started their life again with new energy and enthusiasm.

Visited on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much rush — the darshan was completed in just 10 minutes. Opted for the ₹200 paid darshan, which was smooth and well-managed. Overall, a peaceful and quick experience.

Travelled from. Karimnagar to basara temple to take blessings from Saraswati devi. Almost 180 km from thr karimnagar. Saraswati devi is here to bless all for their education. Aksharabhyasam is done here for the é 1kids those who will start schooling. There are separate pooja done here. 1000/- and 150/- are the prices. 1000/- pooja is done on Gharba Gudi in thr temple. If you want to do Aksharabhyasam in 1000/- better to bring fruits, kumkum and rice by your own. All these items are costly here. They take pictures of the pooja and sell them to you at thr cost of 100/- per print which is costly. The temple officials should look into the matter. There is a Godavari ghar is also there to visit.

The place was so peaceful, and you’ll instantly get all those devotional vibes once you arrive. The surroundings are exceptionally clean, and the people maintain great hygiene. We visited the temple on 5th July 2025, and as there was no crowd, we opted for the free darshan. Outside the temple, you can find many food stalls, perfect for lunch or dinner. I also recommend visiting "Vedavathi Shila," which is nearby. It’s a large rock that produces a metallic or musical sound when struck with a small stone—quite a unique experience! Additionally, the serene Godavari River is close to the temple and worth exploring.

Best place to experience calmness & wildlife. Extreme discipline makes the place more blissful. One of the very clean & structured forest region in India.

Safari Experience: The thrill of spotting a tiger in its natural habitat is unmatched—though sightings depend on luck, the excitement of the chase itself is worth it. • Wildlife: Apart from tigers, the reserve is home to leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, and countless bird species—making it a paradise for nature lovers. • Scenery: Dense teak forests, open grasslands, and serene lakes create a beautiful mix of landscapes. • Management: Safaris are well-structured with trained guides, but bookings should be done in advance since it’s a popular destination. • Overall: A must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts. Even if you don’t spot a tiger, the sheer immersion in raw nature makes it worth the trip.

Excellent, well managed tiger reserve. I'm a regular visitor and ice always found it well managed and helpful staff manning the vehicles. Of late visitors coming in late often want the game drivers to aggressively maneuver for a better photo. Hopefully this is a one off observation and game wardens discourage such practice. India has a great record with tigers and people should be more patient and respectful of tiger habitats
Shishir M — Google review
If you are keen to sight tigers then make sure you get a good guide and a naturalist. The jungle offers a lot of variety with respect to flora and fauna, birds and other animal species - to name a few rare ones - wild dogs, wild boars, barking deers, badgers, rare birds, etc. However the guide would not tell you anything and everything - their only objective is to get you a tiger sighting. In this process we loose the complete essence of the jungle and a general awareness of the wide variety of species, their calls and behaviours and their adaptations. We got a naturalist in our first Safari which proved out to be extremely awesome and satisfying as he gave us valuable information around the jungle which doesn't meet the eyes of us city dwellers. However, on the second safari, we had a very unpleaseful and distatsteful experience with our guide Mr. Mahendra Meshram. In the 4 hour Safari he parked the gypsy at just one place in the jungle for around 3 hours trying to get a tiger sighting. Despite our insistence to move around and explore, he outrightly chose to ignore our ask and stay at that one point until the end of the safari. The worst part we couldn't sight any tiger despite spending the whole of the safari at a single point. The other gypsies who went past us to tour the jungle area got tiger sightings as well as Cheetah, which are very rare - which made us feel even more bitter. Moral - Beware of such overconfident guides who give false promises of tiger sightings and in general ruin your complete safari. Even the forest department should take cognizance of this and embark on some efforts to educate and train such guides and try to give them a good perspective. Although the tourists maybe attracted to tigers but it is the duty of the local guides to make sure they learn about the forest culture, their unique inhabitants and the rare species and visual treats they offer.

We visited the Zero Mile Freedom Fighter Park during our last trip to Nagpur, and it was a peaceful and memorable experience. The park is well-maintained and beautifully landscaped, offering a calm escape in the heart of the city. The highlight, of course, is the historical Zero Mile Stone and the monuments dedicated to freedom fighters. It’s a place that evokes pride and respect for India’s history. The information boards are informative and add educational value to the visit. It’s a great spot for a relaxed walk, quiet reflection, or simply spending time with family. The atmosphere was clean, and the surroundings felt safe and inviting. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Nagpur and interested in heritage and patriotism.

Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi is a centuries-old temple located on a hilltop in Nagpur. The temple houses a colorful statue of Lord Ganesh and is believed to be the place where the idol was discovered during the construction of a railway line in 1875. It is said that Raja Raghuji Bhosle used to visit the idol, which was initially placed under a peepul tree, by riding up on a boat.
Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi is one of Nagpur’s most revered and iconic temples, attracting devotees from all side of India. Situated near Nagpur Railway Station, the temple’s location on a small hill (tekdi) adds to its spiritual charm and peaceful ambiance. The surroundings are neat and clean. I like how they protect the trees by not cutting them and building the structures around them. It is quiet spacious. The people here treat everyone as one of them, gives as prasad. The trees around keeps the area cool especially in the evening, while the sun's setting and with cool breeze and all.. It is quiet sutable place to spend some peacefull time with yourself or with your loved ones. Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi is a must-visit for those seeking spiritual solace and a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Nagpur.

Very nice and beautiful temple in nagpur. It is situated on the Station Road in Nagpur, Sri Ganesh Mandir Tekri is a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple boasts of rich architecture; the idol of Ganesha can be seen seated under a tree inside the premises of the temple. Tekdi Ganesh Temple is said to be 250 years old. The shrine of Lord Ganesha is believed to be self-existent, and its size is increasing over a period. During the early years, Tekdi Ganapati Temple used to be an ordinary shrine with a tin shade and a small platform.

Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi is one of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting places in Nagpur. Located near the railway station, the temple sits atop a small hill (“Tekdi”), making the visit feel special and calming right from the climb. The moment you enter, you feel a strong sense of devotion and serenity. The idol of Lord Ganesh is beautifully adorned, and the atmosphere is filled with positive energy. The temple is clean, well-maintained, and the surroundings are always pleasant for a short walk or quiet time. Despite being a popular temple, the darshan is usually smooth. This is a perfect place to start your day with blessings or to spend a few quiet minutes away from the city rush.

Title: A Sacred Hilltop Abode of Lord Ganesha – Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi, Nagpur’s Timeless Treasure Location: Perched atop Tekdi Hill (a prominent landmark in Nagpur), Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi is one of the city’s oldest and most revered temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Situated near Central Railway Station, this hillock shrine offers panoramic views of Nagpur and is a spiritual haven for devotees and history enthusiasts alike. First Impressions: The temple’s serene location, surrounded by lush greenery and rocky terrain, sets it apart from urban chaos. A short climb up the well-maintained steps leads to the temple complex, where the simplicity of its ancient architecture evokes a sense of timeless devotion. The white-painted structure, crowned with a traditional Maratha-style dome, blends seamlessly with the natural beauty of the hill. Spiritual Ambiance: The sanctum sanctorum enshrines a self-manifested (swayambhu) idol of Lord Ganesha, believed to be centuries old. The idol, adorned with fresh flowers and vibrant chandrika (vermilion), exudes divine grace. The atmosphere is charged with devotion, amplified by the rhythmic ringing of bells and collective chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya!” The morning and evening aartis are particularly soul-stirring, drawing crowds of locals and pilgrims. Unique Rituals & Offerings: Devotees perform abhishek with holy water, coconut, and flowers, seeking Lord Ganesha’s blessings for success and obstacle removal. A special ritual involves offering modaks (sweet dumplings), Lord Ganesha’s favorite treat, which are later distributed as prasad. The temple also holds significance during Ganesh Chaturthi, though its tranquil vibe contrasts with the city’s grand public celebrations, offering a more intimate worship experience. Historical Significance: This temple is deeply intertwined with Nagpur’s history. It is said to have been a place of worship for the Bhonsle dynasty rulers and is among the oldest Ganesha temples in Maharashtra. The hill itself is believed to have geological and spiritual importance, adding layers of cultural heritage to the site. Facilities & Cleanliness: The temple premises are well-maintained, with clean pathways and designated areas for footwear. Drinking water facilities and shaded seating spots are available, though the climb might be challenging for elderly visitors. The small marketplace at the base of the hill sells flowers, coconuts, and souvenirs. Community & Hospitality: The priests (pujaris) are approachable and deeply knowledgeable about the temple’s history. Regular devotees often share fascinating anecdotes about the temple’s legacy, enhancing the visit. The temple’s role as a community anchor is evident during festivals, where locals volunteer enthusiastically. Surroundings & Accessibility: The temple’s hilltop location provides breathtaking views of Nagpur, especially during sunrise and sunset. Nearby attractions include the historic Sitabuldi Fort and bustling markets of Sadar. Auto-rickshaws and taxis can drop visitors at the base of the hill, but parking space is limited. The climb involves ~100 steps, so comfortable footwear is recommended. Festive Highlights: - Ganesh Chaturthi: Though low-key compared to public pandals, the temple is beautifully decorated with lights and flowers. Special bhajans and cultural programs are organized. - Nag Panchami: The hill’s natural setting adds charm to this festival, with rituals honoring serpent deities. Tips for Visitors: - Timings: 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM (extended during festivals). - Footwear: Remove shoes before climbing the final steps to the sanctum. - Photography: Respect signage; avoid photography inside the sanctum. - Best Time to Visit: Early morning for tranquility or sunset for scenic views. Final Thoughts: Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi is not just a temple—it’s a journey through Nagpur’s spiritual and historical roots. The combination of devotion, natural beauty, and ancient heritage makes it a must-visit.

Tekri Ganeshji Temple in Nagpur is one of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting places to visit in the city. Located on a small hill (tekri), the temple offers a serene environment away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The climb up to the temple is not too difficult and gives you a feeling of calmness even before you reach the main sanctum. Devotees believe that Lord Ganesha here is very powerful, and many people visit to seek blessings before starting something new in their lives, whether it is an exam, a job, or any important venture. The temple architecture is simple yet divine, and the idol of Ganeshji radiates positivity. Early morning and evening aarti are truly soul-soothing and give a sense of inner peace. It is strongly believed by devotees that Ganeshji here resolves all problems and fulfills the wishes of his devotees, which is why people come again and again with complete faith. The surroundings are clean and well maintained, and the view from the top of the hill is refreshing, especially during sunrise or sunset. On special occasions like Ganesh Chaturthi, the temple becomes even more vibrant with devotional energy, and one can see large crowds gathering here. Visiting Tekri Ganeshji Temple is not just about offering prayers, but also about experiencing calmness, positivity, and spiritual connection. It is a must-visit place in Nagpur for devotees and even for those who just want a break from the busy city life.

Situated in Nagour, Maharashtra, Tekdi Ganapati Temple is an ancient and famous temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. The temple is built on a hill hence the temple got the name Tekdi Ganesh Mandir. Initially, the temple was built on a small platform. The construction of the new temple started in 1978 and was completed in the year 1984. The temple started with just a tin shade around the idol which is believed to have appeared by itself (Swayambhu). The temple is also very popular as it's is believed to be a 'Jagruta Devasthan' (Awakened). Also, the idol was originally very small and it is believed to have grown in size with time.

Peaceful and Divine Experience at Gad Mandir, Ramtek. Visited this beautiful temple recently, and it was such a peaceful and spiritually uplifting experience. The place is well-maintained and has a calming atmosphere that instantly brings a sense of peace.

On my way to Pench Tiger Reserve from Nagpur International Port, we passed through Ramtek and visited Ramtek Sriram Temple in mid September 2025 The temple is located in a fort at approximately 1500 ft and is a picturesque location with a large lake on one side and green hills and valleys on the other side. The temples located inside the fort complex are grand and spiritually elevating. You feel blessed. The fort also has an imposing structure with deep cliffs. The pathway to the temple is also comfortable. The only distraction disturbing the serenity of this beautiful place are too many shops especially eateries right up to the fort gate. Inside the fort complex there are monkeys which devotees feed with comfort. There is a proper assigned place inside the fort prior to temple main entrance for shoes but generally people step out their shoes at fort gate itself in a haphazard manner giving a discomfort picture to this beautiful location. This place really deserves a visit where it is believed that Lord Rama took 'Tek( Rest)' during his vanvaas or ' Tek ( Pledge)' to demolish demons disturbing the peace of the surrounding area.

Had a great experience visiting Shri Ram Temple & Fort in Ramtek. The temple is peaceful, and the view from the top is absolutely amazing. You can see the lakes and greenery all around. The climb is worth it, and the vibe inside the temple is very calming. The fort area and old stonework add a lot of character to the place. Definitely a good spot for a short trip or weekend outing.

It gets its name from Sri Ram of Ayodhya, who took a Tek or a Vow here to rid the earth of Asuras. It can also mean the place where he rested for a while during his southward journey. Earlier this hill was called Tapogiri, which literally means the hill of Tapas or the place where a lot of sages perform Tapas. You may think why only this place? Well, this is where Agastya Muni had an ashram and Sri Ram visited him during his 14-year exile. We know from Ramayana that during his journey through the forests of India, he killed many asuras. This relieved many sages and saints who used to have their ashrams in the deep forests.

The grand and ancient temples of Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman are very attractive. Their architecture and the carvings on them are also very beautiful. There is also a temple of Bajrang Bali here. The view of Ramtek city from the fort temple is very beautiful.

Divine stone architecture made by the Bhosales of Nagpur during their regime, this temple stands over the Ramtek fort at the very place where Lord ShreeRam, Sita Mata and Lord Lakshmana spent brief period of time during their 14 years of forest exile(vanvas). Reaching here is extremely easy from Nagpur Via AH 44 and NH 753 in about 1-1.5 hrs. You enter the beautiful gate of this temple at the foothill right on this highway. Go here to experience calm and composure of Lord ShreeRam in the very air. Stone temple and fort will amaze you in many ways. Few points to remember: • Generally not very crowded if you go early in morning. • Beware of the monkeys, they’ll snatch food from your hands. (Even Lotuses and garlands for god) • Do not click pictures inside the temple. • Don’t forget to eat- Kachha Chivada, Bor, etc. on your way down. • Please don’t dirty our heritage.

Nagzira Sanctuary

National forest
Nature & Parks
Preserved landscape of richly forested land that is home to populations of tigers, leopards & more.
Our recent trip to Nagzira Tiger Reserve was nothing short of magical, thanks in large part to our stay at the Forest Rest House right in the heart of the jungle. We stayed in Madhukunj, a charming room facing the serene Nagzira Lake, waking up to the sounds of the forest and the tranquil lake view was an experience in itself. We did 4 safaris through the Pitezari Gate, each one unique and memorable. On our first safari, we witnessed the thrilling chase of a pack of wild dogs trying to hunt a spotted deer – our first time seeing dholes in action! The second safari surprised us with a graceful peacock dance, feathers fully fanned in all its glory. The third safari gave us a fantastic sighting of a sloth bear, lumbering through the road. And on our final safari, we had a close encounter with a lone wild dog, bringing the trip full circle. While we just missed the famous Pangadi male tiger during the second safari and heard close leopard calls, we truly appreciated the dedication of our driver and guide, who went above and beyond to track the big cats. Their enthusiasm and knowledge made every safari exciting, even without a tiger or leopard sighting. A special mention for the food, it was delicious, freshly prepared, and very reasonably priced. Simple yet wholesome, it perfectly complemented the raw, rustic charm of the forest surroundings. If you're someone who truly appreciates nature, wildlife, and the peaceful beauty of the jungle, this forest rest house stay is an experience not to be missed. Even without a big cat sighting, the richness of wildlife and the stay amidst the wilderness made this trip absolutely memorable. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a truly immersive jungle experience!

Nestled in the heart of Maharashtra, Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers. Unlike the more commercialized tiger reserves, Nagzira offers a raw, untouched wilderness experience, making it one of the best places to truly connect with nature. The sanctuary is home to diverse wildlife, including tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, and a variety of deer species. The birdlife here is also incredible, with vibrant kingfishers, peacocks, and hornbills adding to the charm. The best part? Since Nagzira is less crowded than other reserves like Tadoba or Pench, you get to enjoy a peaceful safari with higher chances of spotting elusive animals. The jeep safaris are well-organized, with knowledgeable guides and forest officials ensuring a great experience. The morning safaris offer a magical view of the misty forests, while the evening safaris bring out the golden hues of the setting sun. The lush greenery, dense woods, and serene water bodies make it a dream for nature photographers. While there aren’t many historical palaces in the sanctuary itself, the surrounding region has ancient temples and heritage sites, which add to the cultural significance of the area. The accommodation options near Nagzira range from forest rest houses to eco-resorts, but it's advisable to book in advance, especially during peak seasons. One downside is the limited food options near the sanctuary, so carrying essentials is recommended. However, the experience of being in such a pristine forest more than makes up for it. Overall, Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit for those seeking a true wildlife adventure, away from commercialized tourist hubs. A perfect blend of tranquility, adventure, and breathtaking natural beauty! 🌿🐅✨

Our trip to Nagzira in March 2020 turned out better than expected. We saw wild dogs (dhols), a female leopard, langur, spotted deer, sambar deer, nilgai, peacocks, gaur, wild boar, owl in the space of three safaris. The Central Indian jungle gives a serene feeling and it was very soothing to experience nature and wildlife from an open Jeep. Our driver and guide were friendly and knew the forest well though we had to often poke them to tell us few things. We stayed at FDCM Nagzira resort and it was quite a unique experience to stay inside the core zone of a tiger reserve. Few people saw a leopard couple at the resort restaurant at night and there are almost always deer and langurs very close to the restaurant.

Very huge forest and it is divided in to two parts the old part is very nice and the new part of the jungle is full of green tress flowers and other plants but very few animals are in the new part of forest . If your new to visit the forest go for the old part of the forest and spend atleast 2 days so that you can enjoy the whole jungle. There is also vary nice facility of resort inside the forest by the government also there are various private resort available in which you can get rooms through online booking. Kaur type nagzira resort. Now days 5tigers are in the forest and various different type of birds you can see in this forest . Most possibility of seeing wild dogs . If your lucky u can have citations of tiger and leopard 🐆. Many of photogenic people came for having great nature pictures . Only come before rainy season during summer.there is more chance to see the whole animals of the jungle.

Visitors can take boat rides along the river to witness the breathtaking scenery, especially during sunrise and sunset when the rocks display a variety of colors. This popular tourist destination offers a tranquil and beautiful experience that everyone should enjoy.
Marble Rocks, Bhedaghat (also spelled Bedaghat or Vaidaghat) — is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of Madhya Pradesh, located about 25 km from Jabalpur. Here’s a detailed overview: 🏞️ Overview: The Marble Rocks are towering cliffs of white marble (some reaching up to 100 feet high) that flank the Narmada River as it flows through a deep gorge. Over centuries, the river has carved this stunning canyon, creating a surreal landscape where the sunlight reflects beautifully off the marble, giving it shades of white, blue, and even pink at different times of day. 🚤 Major Attraction – Boat Ride in the Gorge: A boat ride on the Narmada River between the marble cliffs is the highlight of a visit. The moonlight boat ride is especially famous — the marble gleams under the moon, creating a magical glow. Boatmen often narrate folklore and humorous stories about the rock formations during the ride. 🕉️ Religious & Cultural Importance: The Narmada River flowing through the gorge is considered sacred. The site has inspired many artists, poets, and filmmakers — even scenes from movies like Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai were filmed here. 💎 Nearby Attractions: Dhuandhar Waterfall (3 km): The Narmada plunges dramatically into the gorge, creating mist that looks like smoke — hence the name “Dhuandhar” (meaning ‘smoke cascade’). Chaunsath Yogini Temple: An ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, situated on a hilltop near Bhedaghat with panoramic views of the Narmada gorge. Soapstone & Marble Handicraft Market: Local artisans sell exquisite marble carvings and souvenirs. 📍 How to Reach: Nearest city: Jabalpur (25 km; 30–40 minutes by road). Well connected by road, rail, and air. 🕰️ Best Time to Visit: October to March – pleasant weather, ideal for sightseeing and boat rides. Avoid monsoon (July–September) as the river level rises and boat rides are usually suspended. 🌕 Don’t Miss: Evening or moonlit boat ride Dhuandhar Waterfall at sunset Ropeway ride across the Narmada near Dhuandhar

Wonderful experience to behold the marble rocks of all hues and colours. However the boating experience needs attention by the authorities so far as the passenger safety is concerned.

I heard about this in my childhood textbook. In textbook, author describe about their experience on Full Moon night. This time we visited at broad Daylight, but it is marvelous to observe around 100 feet high marble rockline while boating through Mata Narmada River from Bhedaghat at Jabalpur. I will visit again to experience it on Full Moon Night.

Boating is amazing. They will ask you to pay more for going far once you reach the Bhoolbhulaiya point. If you want you can try, it has better rocks. Or else till Bhoolbhulaiya point also it is good. Many movie shootings have happened here. Try to take the motor boat as they can take you much deeper.

The Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat are stunning tall white cliffs rising on both sides of the Narmada, best seen on a peaceful rowboat ride. Sunset or full-moon boat rides are magical, and Dhuandhar Falls nearby make the trip complete.

Dhuandhar Waterfall, situated in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, is the largest waterfall in India. It is located on the Narmada River in Bhedaghat and drops 30 meters amidst the renowned Marble Rocks. The name 'Dhuandhar' originates from Hindi words meaning a waterfall where a smoky atmosphere can be felt due to the cascading water vapor.
Dhuandhar Falls, nestled in Bhedaghat near Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, is a mesmerizing natural wonder that lives up to its name—‘Dhuan’ meaning smoke and ‘Dhar’ meaning flow. The river meanders between towering cliffs of white and pink marble, which shimmer under sunlight, creating a magical ambiance . • Local Handicrafts: The area around the falls is dotted with stalls selling exquisite marble artifacts and souvenirs. Checked out Dhuandhar Waterfall in Jabalpur, and honestly, it’s one of those places that hits you with nature’s raw power. The roar of the water and the mist floating in the air make it feel like the whole place is alive. You’ll probably end up drenched and grinning — totally worth it. The view from the marble rocks is killer, especially if you catch the sunset. It can get a little crowded and could use some upkeep, but once you see that waterfall in full flow, you stop caring about everything else. Pure Jabalpur magic.

Mesmerizing place. Try to come on weekdays or morning for better view. Negotiate with shopkeepers if buying something. No need to take a guide. Way has slopes and stairs, but manageable. Bring a bottle from home if you want to fill Narmada water.
Bhumish G — Google review
We had been to this water fall during our return journey towards Pune from Maha Kumbh mela. One of our friend knows about this location, so he suggested to take halt at Jabalpur in the night and then we visited this waterfall next day morning. The Dhuandhar falls is located on the Narmada River at Bhedaghat at 30 meters high and 30km away from the city. The Narmada River, making its way through the Marble rocks narrows down and then plunges into a waterfall. Viewing platforms have been constructed along the side to facilitate proper views. Interesting Facts about this waterfall: 1.The name of this waterfall is derived from two Hindi words "Dhuan" and "Dhar". Dhuan means smoke, the mist created by water falling on hard rock creates visuals of smoke emanating from the river bed and hence it is called Dhuandhar or Smoke Cascade. Dhar means falling down, the white water pummels down to form a gorge known as the Marble Rocks. 2. Beauty of this Water fall is the plunge, which creates a bouncing mass of mist, is so powerful that its roar can be heard from a far distance. another good thing is that we can see the beauty of water over Cable car which connected from East bank to West Bank of the Narmada River. Rope Car crosses the river and then drops tourists off at the west bank of the river. 3. Visitors can take boat ride on the river to visit nearby marble rocks. These rocks are a unique geological formation with a series of marble cliffs rising from the river. This waterfall is often referred to as the Niagara Falls of India because of the speed with which the water falls down. 4. This tourist site is most crowded during the Narmada Mahotsav where people from across the country visit the Jabalpur district to celebrate the festival grandly beside the Dhuandhar, under the full moonlight.
Surya K — Google review
A must-visit waterfall in Jabalpur. The water falls down with so much force that it creates a mist like smoke (hence the name 'Dhuandhar'). The area is well-maintained with proper fencing. There’s no trek involved here — you can directly walk from the parking area to the viewpoint in about 3 minutes. Parking is available at ₹20 for two-wheelers. No entry ticket needed. Ropeway facility is available here for ₹100 per person one way. Visit during monsoon or right after for the best water flow. Avoid weekends if you don’t like crowds.

Stepping into the Khajuraho Group of Monuments is like entering a sprawling open-air museum, where every inch of sandstone tells a story. Far from the imposing forts found elsewhere, these temples emerge gracefully from lush gardens, initially appearing modest until you draw closer and their true grandeur, etched in intricate detail, becomes breathtakingly clear. This UNESCO World Heritage site, built by the Chandela dynasty between 950 and 1050 CE, is a profound testament to ancient Indian art, architecture, and a remarkably holistic view of human existence. The architecture itself is a marvel, primarily adhering to the Nagara style of North Indian temple building. Temples like the magnificent Kandariya Mahadeva, the largest and grandest, are characterized by their soaring shikharas (spires) that mimic mountain peaks, symbolic of Mount Meru. Each structure is a complex assemblage of interconnected halls, including the sanctum sanctorum, antarala, mahamandapa, and various other chambers, all meticulously planned and executed. The transition from the naturally lit exterior to the cave-like ambience of the sanctum creates a deliberate spiritual journey for the devotee. However, what truly sets Khajuraho apart are its sculptures. These are not merely decorative elements but a cinematic window into a world long gone. The temple walls are profusely carved with anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic motifs, depicting a vibrant tapestry of sacred and secular themes. There are gods and goddesses, celestial beings (apsaras and sura-sundaris), musicians, dancers, warriors, and scenes from daily life – potters shaping clay, hunters stalking prey, yogis in trance. And, of course, the famously explicit erotic sculptures. These aren't isolated curiosities but are woven seamlessly into the narrative of life, celebrating love, procreation, and fertility as integral aspects of human experience and spiritual awakening. They are a powerful expression of kama, one of the four aims of Hindu life, presented not in isolation but alongside scenes of devotion and philosophical contemplation. The Western Group of temples, including Lakshmana Temple and Kandariya Mahadeva, are generally considered the most impressive due to their scale and the sheer volume and artistry of their carvings. The Lakshmana Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is particularly striking with its two prominent bands of sculptures depicting battles, hunting, and graceful female figures. The overall impression is one of harmonious integration, where the sculptures are not merely additions but are inseparable from the architectural design, creating a rhythmic flow across the temple surfaces. A visit to Khajuraho is more than just sightseeing; it's an immersive experience that challenges preconceived notions about ancient Indian culture. It prompts contemplation on the intertwining of the sacred and the sensual, the divine and the human. To truly appreciate the depth and intricacy of these stone manuscripts, one must slow down, observe closely, and allow the whispering stones to tell their tales. The best time to visit is undoubtedly during the cooler winter months (November to February), when the pleasant weather allows for comfortable exploration of these timeless masterpieces.

Ancient caves are at the foot of this picturesque, 30-m.-high waterfall surrounded by lush forests.
Visited Pandav Falls in February—the water flow was moderate but you can see that green water. The place was serene and scenic. Surrounded by lush greenery and rock formations, it offers a peaceful retreat with mythological significance linked to the Pandavas. A great spot for nature lovers and a quiet break from city life.

If you’re exploring Panna Tiger Reserve, make sure to spend at least an hour at this hidden gem. Unlike a typical waterfall, this one is truly unique—water seeps and drips gracefully through the roots of towering trees, creating a magical, almost otherworldly scene. Local guides are friendly and knowledgeable, often sharing fascinating stories and logical insights that bring the place to life. Don’t miss the nearby caves, which are steeped in legend and believed to have sheltered the Pandavas during their exile. A perfect blend of nature, history, and mythology—this spot is an unforgettable part of the Panna experience.

Really good place to visit as a short weekend trip. It's a bit steep downstairs for those who consider stairs as their enemy. Though a bit slippery on rainy days. Otherwise it's a very good place to visit. The waterfall and the humble abode of Pandavas besides it really makes us visualise how real it would have been, the stories which we've been reading, listening and watching on the screen. Also, they don't accept UPI payments, carry cash for the tickets and the place is closed on Wednesdays, so avoid that day. Also there's no availability of drinking water nearby so carry a water bottle just in case.
Abhay P — Google review
Lovely waterfall. Clear water. Have to go down some 100plus stairs to see the caves. Do watch the water dripping through the side walls. Looks like raining but actually it is the ground water dripping. Amazing views

Visited in June. Waterfall was mild. But the scenery and landscape was beautiful. It was cool and peaceful. Its a climb down of about 100 steps. Word of caution: best not to wear any perfume or scent while visiting. There are honeycombs and honey bees can attack due to irritability of chemicals. There is guide who accompanies inside. The place has good history of Pandavas staying. The caves are visible.and accessible. There are caves just adjacent to water body also but become inaccessible due to water levels

The best part is the continuously dripping water from either the sedimentary rocks or the roots or shoots of the big trees on the top of the gorge. Steps are well maintained. Water fall is quite small. Road from Khajuraho to Pandav Falls is terrible.

A place with exhilarating view…Pandav Caves and Falls - a Paradise in Panna National ParkThe name of Pandav Falls comes from a legend that the five Pandava brothers from the Mahabharata epic visited the area during their period of exile and took refuge in the caves and the vicinity of the waterfall. The presence of nearby caves, some said to be five in number, and the mythological connection to their stay is the origin of the name

Triveni Sangam, located in Allahabad, India, is a significant tourist destination due to its historical and religious importance. It is the confluence of three sacred rivers - Ganges, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati. The distinct colors of these rivers remain separate as they meet at this auspicious junction. Hindus believe that bathing here can cleanse them of sins and liberate them from the cycle of rebirth.
My second time visit to this incredible place. The place was crowded due to mahakumbh but the government maintained maximum cleanliness and security. The atmosphere is magical. Avoid months like June and July (summer). I had my first visit at the time of June and this time it was February (Late winter).

Anand Bhawan Museum, located around 60 km from Chuka Beach, is a historical gem dedicated to the Nehru-Gandhi family. The museum showcases period furnishings, historic exhibits, photographs, letters, and personal belongings of the family. It used to be their home where Indira Gandhi was born and has now been converted into a well-secured museum with an extensive collection of old photographs and historical artifacts.
Best place to visit. As u entered in Prayagraj your first priority must be the visit of Anand Bhawan Museum. Planetarium gives s goosebumps and the whole infrastructure is really unique.❤️

I recently visited this place with my best friend and was quite impressed with both the museum and the planetarium. The entire area is very well-maintained — the greenery is lush and taken care of, and cleanliness is clearly a priority. To visit the planetarium, you need to purchase tickets, but they are quite affordable and definitely worth the price. The show was informative and engaging, making the experience memorable. The museum, which focuses on Nehru family is also quite impressive. Each exhibit feels authentic and thoughtfully curated. It gave me a deeper understanding of Nehru family life, values, and the lifestyle of leaders during that era. Overall, it was a meaningful and educational experience.

A very Big bungalow looks a luxurious lifestyle of natives. After seeing the first impressions appeared as Nehru ji a royal family person, enjoying superb comfortable life. The museum shown the history of nehru ji family. That is Nehru Dynasty. Not much about other freedom fighter heroes. Entry ticket of 200/- much more for such place, hence it doesn't attract sizable visitors, so it should be abolished..to attract crowd.

Visiting Anand Bhawan Museum was an enriching experience for me and my friend. Once the residence of the Nehru family, this elegant mansion offers a rare glimpse into the personal lives of leaders who played a central role in the political scene of then Indian and in India’s freedom struggle. The museum is well preserved and maintained. Walking through Nehru’s study, Indira Gandhi’s room, and the family drawing room and watching the collection of photographs, personal belongings, handwritten letters, and Nehru’s vast library brought alive the stories I had and hadn't read about in books. The museum also gives you an insight into the lifestyle of the politically powerful and rich family of the time. The presence of the Jawahar Planetarium and the book store in the same complex adds a refreshing and educational dimension to the visit. Overall, Anand Bhawan is a recommended visit for anyone who's interested in history, heritage, and reflection. It will definitely be an informative trip if you take your time exploring and reading.

This was the residence of Motilal Nehru, father of Jawaharlal Nehru and his family. This is must visit place in Prayagraj. The entry fee is ₹50 for ground floor and ₹100 for both the floors. Here one can view the items used by the family, especially those of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. Beside Anand Bhawan, there is another bhavan called Swarajaj Bhavan, which one can visit with the same ticket. A gallery of the photos of the Nehru family is also located right next to Anand Bhawan, where a bookstore is also located. Toilets and drinking water facilities are also available.
Megabyte T — Google review
Anand Bhawan, situated in Prayagraj, is more than just a magnificent mansion; it is a living, breathing testament to India's freedom struggle and the enduring legacy of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Visiting this historic house museum offers a profoundly moving journey back in time, placing you right at the heart of the pivotal decisions that shaped modern India. Constructed in the 1930s by Motilal Nehru, the stately architecture—a blend of European and traditional Indian styles—immediately commands respect. However, the true significance of the house lies not in its grandeur but in its soul. It served as the primary residence of the Nehru family after their original home, Swaraj Bhawan, was dedicated to the Indian National Congress as its headquarters. This act of self-sacrifice is palpable throughout the complex. As you walk through the preserved rooms, you can almost hear the echoes of historic debates. The personal touch is what makes Anand Bhawan so compelling. Exhibits include Jawaharlal Nehru's study and bedroom, which stand in stark, humble contrast to the immense power he wielded. The walls are adorned with rare photographs, offering candid glimpses of the family's life, political gatherings, and their close association with Mahatma Gandhi, who was a frequent guest. One room is specifically dedicated to the Father of the Nation, highlighting the spiritual and political nexus this house represented. The house is a museum of artifacts—antique furniture, priceless memorabilia, and a rich library containing over 8,000 books—that paint a detailed picture of the intellectual and social environment of the pre-Independence era. Every corner of the house tells a story of sacrifice, resilience, and patriotism. It is here that key strategies for the struggle against British rule were formulated, making the mansion a genuine monument to India's independence. The complex also houses the Jawahar Planetarium, which, while distinct, continues the family's vision of fostering scientific temper in the nation's youth. Visitor Information & Experience: The museum is generally open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (closed on Mondays and certain public holidays). The entry fee is nominal (around ₹70 for both floors for Indians, with different rates for foreigners and children), making it highly accessible. While an hour can give you a quick tour, dedicating 2-3 hours allows for a thorough, reflective visit that includes the main Bhawan and the surrounding grounds (Swaraj Bhawan is nearby). For history buffs, students, and anyone seeking a deeper connection to India's tumultuous journey to freedom, Anand Bhawan is a must-visit pilgrimage site. It's an architectural gem, yes, but its value as a reservoir of national history is immeasurable. It provides a rare, intimate look into the lives of the architects of independent India, leaving visitors with a profound sense of awe and gratitude.

Maa Vindhyavasini Temple

Sacred & Religious Sites
Riverside temple complex with icons & altars dedicated to the region's presiding protector-goddess.
🔱 Jai Mata Di 🔱 Shri Maa Vindhyavasini Temple is one of the most powerful and sacred temples of Bharat. Maa Vindhyavasini is considered an incarnation of Maa Durga and is deeply worshipped by devotees from all over the country. The energy in the temple is truly divine and you can feel the blessings of Maa as soon as you step inside. 🙏 The darshan of Maa is very soulful. The murti of Maa Vindhyavasini is beautifully decorated with flowers, sarees and ornaments, and the aura inside the sanctum fills your heart with devotion and peace. Many people visit here to seek blessings for health, happiness and protection from negative energies. 🌺 However, the queue management and cleanliness around the temple premises can be improved. The crowd is quite large, on weekends and festival days, and there is not enough guidance or organization to handle the rush properly. Still, the spiritual power of the place is unmatched. A visit to Maa Vindhyavasini Temple fills you with strength and devotion. Maa truly listens to every prayer and protects her children like a true Mother. 🌼 🔱 Jai Mata Di 🔱

There is a temple of Mata Rani which is very nice and you will like coming here a lot because there is a Shakti Peeth named after her, the idol of Vindhyavasini is very nice You can come here at any time to have darshan of Mata Rani. But there is a big problem here that all the worshippers here ask for money, which is absolutely not right All the worshippers living here ask for money from everyone that come let me show you the darshan directly and those who don't give the money, they don't get to see the darshan

We booked our Dev Diwali boat service through Visit Kashi Travel Company, and it was an unforgettable experience! The arrangements were smooth, and everything was perfectly managed. We got to witness the entire stretch of 84 ghats beautifully illuminated with diyas. The laser show and fire show were absolutely mesmerizing and added magic to the evening. The boat was clean, safe, and comfortable, even amidst the crowd. Their team was polite and professional, guiding us throughout the ride. We also enjoyed watching the Ganga Aarti from the boat — a divine moment! Everything was well-timed and perfectly coordinated. Overall, the experience was peaceful, spiritual, and full of joy. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Varanasi during Dev Diwali!
