Visiting the Hunder Sand Dunes was an unforgettable experience! The landscape is absolutely surreal — golden sand surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Watching the double-humped Bactrian camels walking across the dunes at sunset felt like a scene from another world. The place is peaceful, and the cold desert wind adds to its charm. It’s a must-visit spot in Nubra Valley, especially in the evening when the light gets magical.
Sameer N — Google review
Hunder Sand Dunes, located in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, offer a unique and surreal experience amidst the stark Himalayan landscape. Unlike any other desert in India, these cold desert dunes lie at an altitude of around 10,000 feet, surrounded by towering mountains and the Shyok River. The contrast of white sand against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks creates a magical and dreamlike setting. One of the main attractions at Hunder is the rare double-humped Bactrian camels, once used on the ancient Silk Route. A short camel ride across the dunes is a popular activity and gives visitors a glimpse into the region’s trade history. As the sun sets, the golden hues over the dunes and mountains create a stunning visual spectacle. The area is peaceful, with a few campsites and homestays offering comfortable stays. Bonfire nights under starry skies add to the charm of the experience. However, weather can be unpredictable, with temperatures dropping significantly at night. Hunder Sand Dunes are a must-visit for anyone exploring Ladakh, offering a perfect blend of nature, history, and adventure. It’s a place where the desert meets the mountains—unlike anything you’ll see elsewhere in the world.

This is a must visit place when you are in Nubra valley in Ladakh. Mesmerizing sand dunes by the colourful mountains is a sight to behold. There are many activities here to engage you. The most popular one is the double hump bactarian camel ride. You can see double humped bactarian camels here in India. Watching a sunrise or sunset here I am sure would be amazing. Please keep the place clean when you visit 🙏

The Hunder Sand Dunes were an unexpected surprise in the middle of the cold desert of Nubra Valley. The landscape is absolutely surreal—golden sand dunes surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The highlight for me was the ride on the Bactrian (double-humped) camels, something you won’t find in many places in India. Sunset here is magical, the entire area glows in warm tones. It’s a peaceful and serene spot to just walk around, click some amazing photos, and soak in the contrast of desert and mountains. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ladakh, don’t miss this unique experience.

Very scenic road from leh to nubra… people who are travelling to nubra valley using google maps.. please ensure that location of nubra valley in google maps is very far from hunder… nubra valley is basically a valley and you need to find stays in diskit or hunder or any other small villages. I’ve seen many people going to nubra valley just by searching in google maps. Hunder has many more options for stay than diskit.

Charming temple One room dedicated to Dalajlama 14th who visited this temple a few decades ago. Some photographs displayed on the walls showing this event. Temple has several praying rooms within inta complex. There is one particular with protectors of Buddha displaying scarry looking gods with covered faces. The view from the temple is spectacular. We visited for the sunset. Most visitors would go to the large buddha statue platform. We didn't go there, we visited the temple itself isntead. There is an entrance fee of 40 rupees (if i remember correctly) into the complex.

Diskit Monastery in Ladakh’s Nubra Valley, radiating timeless spiritual charm. Diskit Gompa is a stunning and peaceful monastery, and one of the highlights of Nubra Valley. Perched on a hill, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. The towering statue of Maitreya Buddha is truly awe-inspiring and adds to the spiritual charm of the place. Inside the monastery, you’ll find beautiful murals, ancient scriptures, and a calm atmosphere perfect for quiet reflection. The climb up involves a few steps, but the serenity and views from the top make it completely worth it. The location is not only spiritually uplifting but also a photographer’s delight. If you’re exploring Nubra Valley, Diskit Gompa is a must-visit to experience both cultural heritage and natural beauty together.

Diskit Monastery is truly beautiful. When I visited the main monastery, I also entered the sacred Protector Room. According to legend, in ancient times, a Mongolian warrior once tried to destroy the Protector’s statue—but the Protector’s power struck back, cutting off the warrior’s hand.

The breathtaking, sweeping landscape is the perfect backdrop to this slice of history. The monastery itself is in good condition, many of the monks were doing handiwork when we visited. Take your time and enjoy the history that echoes in the halls of the Diskit Gompa.

The confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, also known as Sangam, offers a breathtaking natural spectacle in Ladakh. The sight of the two rivers merging, with one displaying serene green waters and the other a muddy brown, is truly awe-inspiring. Surrounded by majestic mountains, this peaceful spot provides an opportunity to contemplate nature's grandeur. Visiting the confluence of the Hindu and Zanskar, reverse was an awe-inspiring experience!!! The sight of the two rivers merging - one a serene green, the other a muddy brown-was simply breathtaking…. The contrasting colours and the sheer natural beauty of the surrounding mountains, made it a moment to remember… it’s a peaceful spot, perfect for reflecting on the grandeur of nature. Whether you are a nature lover or a photography enthusiast, this place is a must visit when in Ladakh. A truly magical experience that stays with you long after you leave…!!!

Beautiful place while you are doing local tour of Leh. The colours of two rivers meeting can be seen clearly. There are river rafting facilities available as well, make sure to carry spare clothes. You can also go near the river and spend time if the weather is favourable. The water is chilling cold.
Pranay P — Google review
Beautiful to see the river where my ancestors would have have drunk water and revered the Sindhu river. It meets the river Zanskar at this point so it’s beautiful and worth spending quiet moments there.
Vipul M — Google review
The confluence of River Indus and Zanskar is an awsome view. The place is commonly known as Sangam. One can see the beautiful confluence from Top or can do down, alongside river to see the two coloured water. The water of river Zanskar is blue green whereas the water of Indus river is bit muddy. The Sangam point has one restaurant (only this was open when we visited) where one can get to eat or book for rafting trip in river Zanskar. The place however has horrible washroom facility. These are basically closed small rooms with a hole on floor. Rafting trip can be taken for 8km (₹900/-), 16 km (₹1800) and 24km. The rafting trip of 8km is suitable for families with kids, as no one gets wet and you boat in still water. The trip of 16km and 24 km are for people looking for adventure. For additional ₹200/- transportation facility till the starting point of rafting can be taken. Since if you drive to the starting point and park your vehicle there, you end up rafting at Sangam point, then you will have ro go back to take your vehicle. If you have hired a taxi, they will also charge you extra to go till starting point. Wet suit and shoes or crocs are provided for the trip of 16km and 24km. Its better to take the trip in sunny weather as the water is really cold plus the wind makes it more cold. You can also bargain a bit depending season or number of tourist.
Jijo A — Google review
A truly magical place to see. You can clearly see the 2 rivers meeting each other and eventually flowing as one. There is snacks and coffee available next to this place. Also one can go for river rafting here where they will take you rafting on the sangam point. Things to consider before going for river rafting is the temperature of the water and if there is any heavy flow to the river which will make the rafting enjoyable. A must visit place.
Pranjalee — Google review
Good tourist destination, one can witness the confluence of two rivers Indus and Zanskar. It's similar to that of Sangam in prayagraj i.e. the confluence of Ganga, Jamuna, Saraswati. It's a good place for photo sessions. One can capture various backgrounds.
Urav B — Google review
No one should miss this nature’s marvel while in Leh/Ladakh region. The views are spectacular with clear line of merging water from both the rivers. Don’t miss the top views from the scenic spot at the highway before arriving down to the confluence spot.

Magnetic Hill

Mentioned on

Magnetic Hill is a historical site in Leh Ladakh valley, known for its unique natural phenomenon where cars and water appear to move uphill against gravity. The location has gained popularity as a tourist attraction for those seeking to experience this inexplicable wonder. However, some have noted that the area's charm has been diminished due to the presence of small structures like cafeterias.
While the magic of the Magnetic Hill is an optical illusion, it has not stopped the creation of myths and lore about this phenomenon. This is more folklore than theory; the locals hold belief that a path to heaven once existed here.A common myth suggests that there is a magnetic anomaly or powerful magnetic field present at Magnetic Hill, which is responsible for the strange phenomenon. This belief is often fueled by the name "Magnetic Hill" itself, which implies a connection to magnetism. Some believe that the hill is a place of spiritual significance, where the laws of physics are suspended, and the boundary between the earthly and the supernatural is blurred. They believed that not everyone could experience this magic, only those deserving of heaven could. Some legends claim that Magnetic Hill was once home to an ancient civilization with advanced technology. According to these stories, the people of this civilization possessed knowledge of magnetic forces that allowed them to build structures and vehicles that could defy gravity. While these myths and legends add to the allure of Magnetic Hill, the scientific explanation behind the phenomenon is rooted in the principles of physics and optics. Nonetheless, these stories continue to be passed down through generations, adding to the mystique and magic of this natural wonder. It is said that there is a mysterious magnetic force emanating from the hill that pulls stationary vehicles within its range and makes them move uphill, though some contests that it is a mere optical illusion. The strange occurrence has been experienced and testified by travellers from all across the world. The Indus River flowing to the east of Magnetic Hill makes the surroundings a picture-perfect frame.Magnetic hill that is believed to defy gravity is located at a distance of 30km(s) from Leh on the Leh-Kargil Highway. Padmanav S — Google review
Visited Magnetic Hill today — the so-called spot where your car is supposed to move uphill on its own, defying gravity. Like most people, I was curious and a bit excited to finally see this “anti-gravity” phenomenon that Leh is known for. But to be honest, it was underwhelming. We parked exactly on the marked spot, followed the instructions, and waited. Nothing. No mysterious pull, no uphill movement. Tried shifting into neutral, waited again — still nothing. Other vehicles around us seemed to have the same experience. I’d heard earlier that it was an optical illusion — that the layout of the surrounding hills creates a false sense of slope, making a downhill road appear to be uphill. And maybe once upon a time, that illusion did work. But now, with newly tarred roads, clearer surroundings, and our phone GPS showing actual elevation, the trick just doesn’t land anymore. You can actually see with the naked eye that the road slightly slopes downhill — so the mystery kind of dissolves. The location itself is scenic, no doubt. Vast open plains, dusty mountains, and the endless sky make for a great photo stop. But if you’re expecting some magnetic marvel — manage your expectations.
Utkersh B — Google review
I don’t see the magic everyone hyped for. Its a marked place by some people. Yes once your car engine put off, it gets moved, but it’s because of slope.
Pravin N — Google review
Visited July 19 2025 – Day 16 in India We spent a lovely afternoon at Magnetic Hill about 30 kilometers from Leh guided by our wonderful tour guide Angmo. She brought the place to life with her deep knowledge and warm storytelling. Though we did not notice any magnetic pull ourselves the experience was delightful and our two little girls ages 5 and 7 absolutely loved it. Magnetic Hill is a curious stretch of road locally famous as a gravity hill where vehicles parked in neutral appear to drift uphill defying logic. Many visitors believe in an unseen magnetic force while others explain it as an optical illusion shaped by the landscape and obstructed horizon. Mountains rising around the road trick the eye into misjudging the slope. Despite the science the legend of a road to heaven whispered by locals adds a layer of mystic charm. Angmo encouraged us to park the vehicle in a painted box on the road and though nothing dramatic occurred we took many photos capturing wide Himalayan panoramas and our girls giggling in wonder. The barren hills framed by distant snowy peaks and the flowing Indus River nearby offered a serene almost spiritual backdrop. Magnetic Hill holds significance as one of Ladakh’s most talked about roadside attractions. It is not just about whether the physics defy gravity it is about being in a striking high altitude landscape witnessing how perception and legend intertwine. The sense of mystery even subtle lingers in your memory long after you have continued driving along the Leh to Kargil road. Angmo’s gentle guidance enthusiasm and patience with our children made it even more special. She explained the theories shared stories of local folklore answered our endless questions and helped us feel connected to the land and its history. Although we did not feel our car being pulled upward what we experienced was far richer — the beauty of remote Ladakh framed by a whimsical myth joyful children exploring nature’s quirks and a guide who cared about our comfort and curiosity. I happily give Magnetic Hill four stars. It is a place where the landscape surprises you and stories unfold. With Angmo’s help it became a memory our family will cherish — a perfect blend of scenery intrigue and heartfelt guidance.

I visited Magnetic Hills last week while on a trip to Ladakh with my dad. On our second day in Leh, we rented a bike specifically to visit this spot since so many people had recommended it. Unfortunately, the actual destination turned out to be extremely underwhelming. It’s basically just a spot marked in the middle of a busy highway where you’re expected to stop your vehicle and “see the magic” — which, as it turns out, is just an optical illusion. No one told us it only works with four-wheelers, so being on a bike, we didn’t experience anything at all. The highway was bustling with fast-moving vehicles, yet ironically, no one was actually around at the Magnetic Hill spot. There’s an ATV, Viking ride, and zip-lining area set up on one side, but all of it was shut when we visited. So, after a long ride to get there, we ended up seeing… pretty much nothing. That said, I’m still giving this place 3 stars purely because the drive was stunning. The roads are beautifully maintained, and the landscape is absolutely gorgeous — that part made it worth it. We were stopped twice for an inner line permit check (which we had already arranged online), so just a heads-up if you’re planning to head that way. One local guy we met there told us that years ago, if you placed a compass on the marked spot, it wouldn’t point in any direction — but he said that doesn’t really happen anymore. I’m not sure how much of that is true, but it kind of sums up the vibe: cool in theory, not much in practice. Overall: a lovely drive, but unless you have loads of time and just want to be somewhere quiet, I wouldn’t recommend making Magnetic Hills a priority
Marium J — Google review
Magnetic hills are 30 mins away from Leh city and you can find it on the way to Indus-Zanskar ricer confluence point. The myth here is that bike or car automatically moves due to higher gravity but its only an optical illusion. However, you get amazing photos here if no one are around because its a straight road in the middle of the mountains. You can also do ATV ride nearby. It can also be a good pitstop as there are some eateries around.
Srikanth R — Google review
It's a neat and clean place and, the road is well built, the mountain background gives it a very romantic look. However the magnetic hill phenomena is a farce, the road is naturally going downhill and any stationery vehicle will start moving if brakes are not applied. Anyway because of magnetic hill propaganda it has become a nice tourist place.
Rajesh S — Google review
“Mind‑bending illusion and scenic stop on the Leh highway!” Magnetic Hill is a must‑stop on the Srinagar–Leh route, about 26 km west of Leh. You park in neutral at the marked box—and the vehicle appears to roll uphill, seemingly defying gravity. 🚗✨ It’s not mystic magnetism but a clever optical illusion caused by the layout of the surrounding terrain . Why it’s worth it A fun experience that sparks curiosity—great for all ages and surprisingly smooth to share with family Beautiful backdrop: rugged Himalayan peaks and the Indus River nearby Free and accessible all summer, with clear signage and easy parking

Perched majestically atop a mountain, the Leh Palace, or Lhachen Palkhar, is a stunning historical landmark in the enchanting town of Leh, nestled within the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir. Constructed in the 17th century under King Sengge Namgyal's reign, this former royal residence boasts nine stories and was designed to mirror the grandeur of Tibet’s Potala Palace.
We visited Leh Palace during our family trip, and it was a great experience. The palace is old and beautiful, with amazing views of the mountains and the city below. It felt like stepping back in time. The walk up to the palace is all by stairs, but it was worth it. Be aware for someone in wheelchair. Inside, we saw old paintings, wooden windows, and traditional rooms. There's also an exhibition room, and theatre room for film projection about the history of the venue. It was a peaceful and special place to visit. Took many nice photos. A must-see in Leh!

Doors are situated on East as per Tibetan norms. Every floor has quite a number of rooms and are quite spacious. Rooms decreases as we go up and 9th floor has only one room. Situated at a hill top this palace gives a perfect view of the Leh city overall which looks mesmerizing. Must visit if you are in Leh.

Situated in the heart of the city and near to Leh market. Good views from the balconies of the palace and the roof. Walk 50 meters from the parking ,Steep steps to climb, not for old age people and the children who needs to be carried. Entry ticket is minimal, amongst the palaces if one has to choose to see only one,I would suggest Shey palace. Nice temples and magnificent view from the too of Shey palace .
Arun T — Google review
The palace was good, you get the best view of Leh city. The entry ticket is just ₹25/- per person but keep it mind that it has alot of stairs and if we got to see any artifact in the palace that will be cherry on top. The palace was empty. Must visit at the time of sunset, you'll love it

Majestic palace built on a hill. It’s a 9 story palace which you’ll only know if you visit it. Architecture is amazing. The view from top is the best!
RUTVIK D — Google review
Historical 17th century palace offering stunning views of Leh and surroundings. Entrance fee for foreigners is 300 rupees - the highest fee I've paid in Ladakh. Although the palace looks big, only 4 rooms are open to the public, three of them holding photography/video exhibitions of the area, plus the private royal shrine. The palace has however habilitated three terraces at the top to see the view. I was a bit disappointed by the restoration work done in the few areas open to the public, looked a bit modern, but perhaps reinforcing the corridors with concrete was necessary for structural safety. The walk up the palace is also stunning.

Leh Palace offers a stunning aerial view of Leh town, nestled amidst rugged mountains. This 9-storey historic structure echoes tales of Ladakhi kingdoms. Its ancient Tibetan-style architecture intrigues visitors. renovations are ongoing A visit promises rich history.

Thiksey Monastery, situated about 20 km from Leh, is the largest monastery in Ladakh. Built in the mid-1400s, it features temples, a nunnery, and an array of Buddhist art including various Buddha statues. The monastery offers stunning panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. Visitors can explore the colorful complex with informative placards providing details about the Wheel of Life.
Thiksey Monastery is a must-visit in Ladakh, often called the “mini Potala Palace.” It offers breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and a stunning 49-foot statue of Maitreya Buddha. The morning prayers and ancient murals add to its charm. Truly a serene and spiritual experience.
Shahista K — Google review
If you only have time to visit one place in the Leh Valley, or even just one monastery while here, then choose Thiksey. It is the most incredible, otherworldly place I’ve ever been. The views across the valley to the high Himalaya and the outside architecture are only the beginning. Highly recommend arriving for morning Puja which starts around 6am and can last until 9am. The prayers start with the sounding of enormous horns across the valley, something that has to be experienced to be understood. The monks are happy to chat and the younger monks in training are particularly keen to hear about where you’re from and what you think of their home. Truly a priceless experience.

I recently visited Thiksey Monastery in Ladakh and absolutely loved it! The place is super peaceful and the views from the top are just mind-blowing. The Tibetan-style architecture is beautiful and the calm atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to just sit and soak in the vibes. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Ladakh!

Thiksey Monastery is absolutely beautiful! The walk upstairs is serene and offers stunning views at every step. The peaceful atmosphere, intricate architecture, and the calmness around make it a must-visit spot in Leh. Truly a place that fills you with a sense of peace and wonder.

Thiksey Monastery truly takes your breath away. Built on a hilltop, it looks majestic from a distance, and even more mesmerizing up close. The morning prayers with the monks are a deeply spiritual experience — peaceful chants echoing as the sun rises over the valley. The views are incredible, and the giant Maitreya Buddha statue inside is awe-inspiring. A visit here feels grounding and serene — a must-see in Leh.

While coming back from Pangong Lake to Leh this was our first sightseeing. We also had Ranchos school in the list but unfortunately it was closed due to then ongoing protest. This monastery was open and we went and enjoyed the lovely architecture of this place. Situated at a hill top the view from this place is amazing. There are many temples here actually so you have to visit one by one. One temple had the big buddha statue which was my favourite spot. Very peaceful and calm place. You can surely visit here on your way back to Leh.
Nabyendu D — Google review
Visited the monastery on a rainy day. ⛩️ The view of the hill was getting mesmerizing with every step. The mural painting was outstanding! 🌟 Came to know about the Shri Devi Temple which is at the top. In the temple no women were allowed to enter except the family-women of the Ladakh Queen and the Queen herself. Visit & Enjoy! ⛩️
Mahpara A — Google review
Buddhist temples and monastery Vehicles go till the gate, then it's a climb till the top- begins with a road and then stairs all the way. Accessibility might be an issue for specially abled. There are different temples once you reach the top, take your time to explore and take in the views of Leh. Worth a visit if you enjoy Buddhist temples, can skip if you have already seen similar places before.

At an impressive altitude of around 5,328 meters (17,480 feet), it forms part of the Leh-Manali Highway and offers travelers breathtaking vistas of snow-capped peaks and vast arid plateaus. This pass is celebrated for its awe-inspiring and barren landscapes that leave a lasting impression on all who traverse it.
One of the highest passes we crossed on our way to ladakh. It was worth seeing the serene views after a fun yet adventure packed roadtrip . Just beware of your o2 levels 😉 due to high altitude.

A very thrilling experience as we are reaching Leh from Manali by Innova at this 17480 ft Tanglang la . Only ice and ice. It is approximately 100 km before Leh. It became difficult to stop for photos because of heavy ice. The journey took on May 27th 2025.

This high altitude mountain pass at 17482 Feet above sea level offers breathtaking views of the Himalaya. Absolutely loved it.

This is one of the top passes in Ladakh. At 17582 ft, this is very high and very tough to stay there for long. The wind is string, but road is relatively easy. There is a temple and also BRO point , washroom etc. You can get complementary hot tea here. Avoid prolong stay here due to impact on breathing etc, just 10 mins should be fine to check the surrounding and take pics.

[visited in September] Located at an altitude of about 5,328 meters, Tanglang La is one of the highest motorable passes in the world. As you approach Tanglang La, the landscape slowly changes into a desolate, almost surreal world. The mountains are barren, the green is becoming more and more sparse, and the rocks turn into shades of grey, beige and copper. The road winds uphill, with sharp hairpin bends and views that become more and more impressive. At the top, there are prayer flags fluttering in the wind, a colorful and spiritual addition to the rugged environment. Tanglang La is one of those places that leaves a deep impression; it is a journey through nature, but also an inner experience in which you fully feel the power and serenity of the Himalayan mountains.

I visited Tanglang La on July 9, 2024. Situated on the route from Leh to Manali, Tanglang La is one of the highest motorable passes in the world, reaching an altitude of approximately 5,328 meters (17,480 feet). The pass offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys. The road to Tanglang La is rugged and can be challenging due to its high altitude and weather conditions. However, the journey is well worth it for the stunning vistas and the sense of achievement in crossing such a high pass. It’s a must-visit for those seeking adventure and a taste of Ladakh’s dramatic landscape.

Triund, located in the Dhauladhar mountains near Dharamshala, is a popular trekking spot offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The well-defined forest trails and breathtaking vistas make it a favorite among tourists from India and around the world. The last kilometer of the trek, known as the 22 curves, requires some effort but rewards with an incredible panorama. This camping site at the base of the Dhauladhar ranges provides accessible yet rewarding experiences for families and beginners.
One of the most amazing and beautiful treks you’ll ever do in your life. This is the best trek for the ones who are beginners. The trail offers amazing views and peacefulness. On the top you’ll experience the most beautiful sunset and the clouds will be beneath you. There’s a temple kind where shiv ji is sthapit and once you reach there, you’ll experience an energy that is calming and exciting both at the same time. The night camping offers star gazing experience and you’ll literally see Milky Way galaxy with your naked eyes. Must do trek.

Best trek for beginners, one thing that every tourist has to know there is a base camp after 5 hours of trek after that the peak of triund it takes max 1 hours to reach, many travel agencies don't take you there so first ask after that book any travel agency otherwise trek solo and at the peak of triund trek you got tent and food. In 700-1000 per person(tent + food).
Adi G — Google review
One of the Best trek I've done. It's a beginner friendly and enjoyable trek, One can complete the trek easily as the paths are marked from the start till the end, But it's highly recommended to book a trek guide if you're a beginner as it requires stamina and support for a walk of around 3-4 hours with enjoying views. One of the best company that offer this trek at the lowest price is Madtrek Adventures my experience with them was great 😃. And If you can't handle cold weather then pack your winter wears to keep you warm in December till March as these months experiences snowfall at Triund Top. One more Important Thing: Enjoy the trek with the beautiful views but keep in mind that don't litter trash in such a beautiful place also don't let other litter too.

Weather prediction mentioned some rain, when we started. We couldn't see anything but fog while going uphill. Even on the hill top, couldn't see any of the ranges. A few gusts of wind gave us a sneak peek of one of the peaks and we decided to stay around in case the weather would clear up again. Rain began in afternoon. It rained and hailed. Temperature above definitely reached single digits. Shopkeeper on the top of the hill said it will clear up in 10-20 mins. Hours later, it didn't. There were around 10-15 people huddled in the only shop above the hill. Along with a few dogs as well. We waited for rain to stop but it didn't. So when there was a pause at around 4pm, we could finally see the Dhauladhar range. Snapped a few pictures and we booked it downhill. Passes along other drenched hikers coming up. The rain came back. It was really not a great experience being already tired and cold, walking down rocks and mud with drenched boots, and umbrella in one hand. We reached the bottom just after sunset, as it was getting really dark. Thankfully there were cabs to take us back to town. Paraphrasing a local shopkeeper I talked to at the bottom: This kind of rain happens once every 15-20 years. Will I do this again? Sure. Not anytime soon tho. And certainly will take the weather more seriously this time.

Bhagsu Nag Waterfall is a popular tourist spot in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The 20-meter-high cascade flows into a natural pool and offers breathtaking views. Visitors can take a short but challenging hike to the upper section of the falls for panoramic vistas. Surrounded by lush greenery and mesmerizing scenery, this waterfall is located in Bhagsu village behind the Bhagsunag temple.
Massive waterfall. Main attraction of McLeodganj, must visit. The main part near the waterfall requires a basic climb or about 1km with proper pathway and stairs. The other way is from the upper side along the waterfall which is entirely based on a hike. Be careful in the evening as the path mein become risky to come down.

The waterfall was nice but for me the best part was the walk there. I walked a different way to most people, I came from upper Bhagsu and it took me through this beautiful trail on the edge of the mountain. Took me only 15 mins to get there. Also went to Shiva cafe which is 5 minutes higher than the waterfall, nice views up there and good food.

With the nearby cafés and viewpoints, you can easily spend 4–5 hours enjoying the area. A perfect short trek and a must-visit attraction in McLeodganj for nature lovers.

Norbulingka Institute – Living Tibetan Heritage One of the must-visit places near Dharamsala is the Norbulingka Institute, a centre dedicated to keeping Tibetan culture alive in exile. What struck me most was the care and patience of the artisans. Here, traditional skills are still practiced every day — from thangka painting, to the making of copper images, to the crafting of wooden boxes and furniture. Each piece reflects not only artistry, but also devotion, because these crafts are part of Tibetan spiritual life. Walking through the workshops, you see how much effort is poured into preserving this heritage. It’s not simply about producing objects — it’s about ensuring that future generations can still experience the beauty and meaning of these traditions. The grounds are beautiful too, with peaceful gardens and courtyards, and the Deden Tsuglagkhang temple at the centre — a place that feels both artistic and spiritual. There is also a shop, where you can bring home a thangka, statue, or hand-crafted item — often things hard to find outside India. Supporting these artisans helps the tradition continue. And if you linger longer, the restaurant in the garden is a lovely place for lunch. Norbulingka is a little way from Dharamsala town, so it works best as part of a day trip with other sights. But it is well worth the effort. More than a tourist stop, it is a living bridge between the Tibet that was, and the Tibet that continues to survive and flourish in exile.

Norbulingka Institute in Dharamshala is one of those places that makes traveling feel purposeful. It’s a beautiful blend of art, culture, and serenity, where every workshop and craft studio feels like a live classroom. You actually get to learn how Tibetan traditions are preserved, practiced, and passed on — and the artisans are insanely skilled. The campus is lush, peaceful, and perfect for slowing down while soaking in real knowledge. If you’re someone who travels for culture, creativity, and new perspectives, this place is an absolute must.

Norbulingka Institute is a peaceful escape where Tibetan art and culture come alive. The lush gardens, flowing water channels, and beautifully crafted temple create a calming atmosphere. Watching artisans work on thangka paintings and wood carvings was a unique experience. The Losel Doll Museum is small but charming. Solang Nala, a popular winter ski resort nestled in a picturesque mountain valley with an elevation of 8400 ft, offers breathtaking natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as skiing and sightseeing. However, the area can get crowded, affecting the overall experience. Despite this, it remains a great place for first-time snow experiences and exploring snowy landscapes. The scenic beauty includes stunning mountains, water streams, and occasional snowfall.
Review of Solang Valley: An Adventure Lover’s Paradise Solang Valley, located just a short drive from Manali, is a breathtaking destination that offers a wide range of activities for all types of travelers, especially adventure enthusiasts. I recently visited the valley, and it left a lasting impression on me with its stunning beauty and the variety of thrilling activities on offer. Summer Activities: During the summer months, Solang Valley transforms into an adventure playground. Here’s a glimpse of some of the activities that you can enjoy: 1. Paragliding: Soaring through the skies with a bird’s eye view of the lush valley below was an unforgettable experience. There are options for both short and high-fly flights. I opted for the high-fly, and it was worth every penny. It gives you a panoramic view of the entire valley and surrounding mountains. 2. ATV Rides: If you enjoy speed and a bit of off-road adventure, ATV rides are available throughout the valley. It’s an exciting way to explore the rugged terrain and feel the wind rush past as you navigate the bumpy trails. 3. Zipline: If you love heights and adrenaline, ziplining across the valley is a must-try. It offers a thrilling ride with stunning views of the forested hills and river below. 4. Zorbing Ball: This is a fun and unique activity where you are placed inside a giant transparent ball and rolled down a gentle hill. It’s a great option for those looking for a laugh-filled adventure with friends or family. 5. Giant Swing: Another adrenaline-pumping activity is the giant swing, which offers a massive pendulum-like swing across the valley. The initial drop is enough to give anyone an instant rush! 6. River Crossing: For those who enjoy water-based activities, river crossing on ropes across a fast-flowing stream is a fantastic experience that tests your balance and courage. Winter Wonderland: Solang Valley is equally captivating in the winter, when the entire region is blanketed in snow. During this time, it turns into a winter sports haven: 1. Skiing: The slopes of Solang Valley are perfect for both beginners and seasoned skiers. Skiing instructors are available to guide you, and there are slopes for all skill levels. The sight of people skiing down the snowy slopes is truly mesmerizing. 2. Skido Ride: If you want to experience the thrill of riding through the snow at high speed, hop onto a skido (snow scooter) and zoom across the valley. It’s one of the best ways to explore the snow-covered landscapes. 3. Snowboarding: Similar to skiing, snowboarding is also a popular winter activity here. Solang’s gentle slopes are ideal for snowboarders to glide down effortlessly. 4. Tube Ride: For a fun and relaxed experience, the tube ride offers a simple yet exciting way to enjoy the snow. You sit in an inflatable tube and slide down a snow-covered hill. It’s a fantastic family-friendly activity. Conclusion: Whether you’re visiting during the summer for an adrenaline-filled adventure or in the winter for snow sports, Solang Valley has something for everyone. The scenic beauty of the valley, combined with its array of activities, makes it a must-visit destination for adventure lovers. Solang valley is very beautiful. I would love to visit there again and again. Its natural beauty refreshes one's mind and keeps away from negativity. Everything was fantastic as I visited there with my family and every single moment we enjoyed alot. The only thing that annoyed us was while doing skiing ⛷🎿 the skiing masters or guides pull u from back and doesn't allow u to do. They charge high just for 5mins. That particular area gets crowded and u can't do freely. Though the Experience was very nice. Never fall in the trap of all those vendors selling Kesar as all these are fake. Hope you guys enjoy.

Hadimba Devi Temple is a 16th-century Hindu shrine located in the cedar forest of Old Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh, this wooden temple features intricate carvings and follows a distinct Buddhist pagoda-style architecture. The temple is dedicated to Hadimba, the wife of Pandava Prince Bhima from the Indian epic Mahabharata.
Hidimba Devi Temple, also called Dhungri Temple, was built in 1553 by Maharaja Bahadur Singh and is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata. The temple is made of wood and stone in traditional Himachali architecture, surrounded by cedar forests. It has a unique pagoda-style roof with intricate carvings and no idol of Hidimba—only a footprint on a rock believed to be hers. It’s both a religious site and a major tourist attraction.

Hadimba Devi Temple in Manali is one of the most peaceful and iconic spots in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by tall cedar (deodar) forests, this 16th-century wooden temple dedicated to Goddess Hadimba — wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata — beautifully blends spirituality with nature. The temple’s unique architecture, with its four-tiered pagoda-style roof and intricately carved wooden doorway, stands out from anything else in the region. The atmosphere is serene and filled with a sense of divine calm, especially in the early morning or evening hours. However, the area can get quite crowded during peak tourist seasons, and the nearby stalls make it feel a bit commercialized — but the charm of the temple and its forest setting easily outshine that. 📍 Location: Old Manali, Himachal Pradesh 🕒 Timings: 8 AM – 6 PM (Open daily) 💡 Tip: Visit early in the morning for quiet surroundings and great photos among the pine woods. A must-visit heritage and spiritual site that captures the essence of old Manali’s beauty and devotion. 🌲🙏

Hadimba Devi Temple, also known as Dhungari Temple, was built in 1553 by Maharaja Bahadur Singh and is dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, the wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata. Nestled in a cedar forest called Dhungiri Van Vihar, the temple is built over a large rock believed to be the deity’s sanctum and showcases stunning pagoda-style Himachali architecture. While the temple’s interiors radiate spiritual calm, photography is strictly prohibited inside, preserving its sanctity. Just outside, the area buzzes with vibrant local life—there’s a serene park perfect for a stroll, and the nearby Khadolkaja Temple adds to the spiritual circuit. For content creators and families alike, the surroundings offer fun and photogenic experiences: you can pose with adorable lambs and rabbits, or dress up in traditional Manali attire for a small fee and capture the essence of Himachali culture. The temple vicinity is also a hotspot for street food lovers, with stalls serving momos, Maggi, and local snacks that make for a flavorful break. Whether you're here for devotion, photography, or cultural immersion, Hadimba Devi Temple and its surroundings offer a rich, multi-sensory experience.

Hidimba Devi Temple is one of the coolest spots to check out in Manali. The temple itself is made of wood and looks really unique compared to the usual temples you see. It’s surrounded by tall cedar trees, which makes the whole place feel calm and refreshing. The vibe is peaceful, and you can easily spend some time just walking around, clicking pictures, and soaking in the natural beauty. It’s not just about the temple — the area around it is lively too, with small shops selling snacks, souvenirs, and local stuff. The atmosphere feels very tourist-friendly, and it’s a nice mix of culture and nature. If you’re in Manali, this is definitely a must-visit spot to experience something different and enjoy the scenic surroundings.

Hidimba Devi Temple is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places to visit in Manali. The temple is surrounded by tall deodar trees, which make the whole area feel calm and refreshing. The wooden structure of the temple is very attractive, with nice carvings and a unique pagoda-style roof. It looks different from most temples in India, and that makes it very special. The atmosphere around the temple is quiet and relaxing. Even if there are many visitors, you can still enjoy the natural beauty and peaceful environment. The place is clean, and the fresh mountain air adds to the experience. The path leading to the temple is also very scenic, making the walk enjoyable. There are small shops around the temple where people sell local Himachali clothes, handicrafts, and snacks. You can also take photos in traditional dress, which is a fun experience for tourists. The surrounding forest area is perfect for clicking pictures or spending some peaceful time with family and friends. Overall, Hidimba Devi Temple is a must-visit place if you are in Manali. It offers natural beauty, a calm atmosphere, and a unique style of architecture. I highly recommend visiting this lovely spot. Must visit the place

The highlight of our visit was the famous Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara, where we were warmly welcomed and served delicious free food, known as Prasad, in the community kitchen (langar). It was heartwarming to see people from all walks of life sitting together and sharing a meal in such a peaceful environment. Just beside the Gurudwara, we marveled at the natural hot springs that are believed to have healing properties. The steam rising from the springs in the cool mountain air created a magical atmosphere. Watching people cook rice and lentils in the hot spring water was both fascinating and unique. Pics are from 2019. One serene place to visit. Can be reached both by trekking and by bus. They say the water of the lake is holy. • Floating Island Phenomenon At its center floats a small island of vegetation that shifts position over time-covering roughly 7 % of the lake's surface, with the remaining 93 % water Local lore frames it as a "microcosm of Earth" and says its motion foretells natural events • Spiritual Significance A three-storied pagoda-style temple stands on the shore, dedicated to Rishi Parashara. Built in the 13th-14th century by King Ban Sen of Mandi, it was reportedly carved from a single deodar tree and decorated with fine woodwork. The site sees major festivals like Rishi Panchami, Sauranahulia, and other fairs that draw pilgrims from across neighboring valleys. . Legendary Origin According to myth, after the Kurukshetra War, Bhima-one of the Pandavas-struck a mountain with his elbow to create a depression in which the lake formed for Lord Kamrunag, who wanted to stay there forever.

Sights & Landmarks
Shree Hanuman Temple, Jakhu is a picturesque mountaintop Hindu temple in Himachal Pradesh, featuring a massive sculpture of Lord Hanuman and inhabited by many wild monkeys. The area also boasts other significant temples like Bhimakali Temple and Sankat Mochan Temple. Visitors can take different roads leading to various attractions such as Ramchandra Chowk and Rich Mount, offering stunning views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks.
The climb up can be a bit challenging, especially if you’re walking from the Ridge, but it’s worth it. For those who prefer comfort, taxis and a ropeway are available. Along the way, you’ll notice troops of monkeys (after all, it is Hanuman’s temple), so it’s best to be cautious and avoid carrying food or loose items in your hands. What I really loved was the serenity once you reach the top. Despite being a popular attraction, the temple retains a peaceful aura. The views of Shimla and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking, especially during early morning or sunset hours. Inside the temple, the spiritual atmosphere feels calming, making it a rewarding stop for both devotees and tourists. Overall, Jakhu Temple is a blend of spirituality, culture, and natural beauty. Whether you go for faith, photography, or simply to enjoy the views, it’s an experience you shouldn’t miss in Shimla.
Shivang S — Google review
The most famous and prominent Hanuman Temple in Shimla is the Jakhu Temple (also spelled Jakhoo Temple). It is a major landmark and a must-visit for tourists and devotees. Here is key information for other people: Jakhu Temple, Shimla The Jakhu Temple visit was, without a doubt, the absolute highlight of my Shimla trip. This place is so much more than just a temple; it’s an experience that combines thrilling transport, breathtaking views, deep spirituality, and a touch of wild adventure. Getting There: Take the Ropeway! I highly recommend taking the Jakhu Ropeway. The steep hike (about 45 minutes) is there for the adventurous, but for comfort and the sheer aerial view, the cable car wins. For a few hundred rupees, you get a short, smooth, and scenic ride that lifts you right over the pine trees. It's truly a cinematic ascent, where Shimla city slowly unfolds below you like a miniature town. It saves time and energy, which you'll need for soaking up the atmosphere at the top. The Colossal Hanuman Statue The moment you step off the ropeway, you are greeted by the magnificent, towering presence of the 108-foot Lord Hanuman statue. Its vibrant orange color stands out so beautifully against the blue sky and green hills. It's a marvel of engineering and a powerful symbol of faith. You can see this statue from The Ridge and The Mall Road, but standing right at its base, looking up, is awe-inspiring. It truly feels like the silent guardian of Shimla. The Temple and the View The ancient temple itself is nestled amongst thick deodar forests and has a wonderfully tranquil, spiritual atmosphere. The air is filled with the calming scent of incense and the sound of bells. It is believed that Lord Hanuman's footprint is preserved here, which adds a deep layer of mythology to the visit. From the temple complex, the panoramic views are unbeatable. You get a 360-degree vista of the surrounding snow-capped Himalayan ranges, the winding valleys, and Shimla's charming, colonial-style rooftops. We caught it around sunset, and the golden hour lighting up the mountains was simply unforgettable

It was really peaceful and divine. The bhandaar was soo tasty and there was variety of food given with prasad too. You can either go in your own vehicle or there are some guys available near the church who will arrange your up and down journey - which was quite convenient and fast as they have a shortcut way of only 3-4kms. (They took 500 from us for drop and pick outside the temple). After you've reached outside the temple, there are stairs (no fee) and escalator (Rs. 20 ticket per person) available to the temple.
Bhavik K — Google review
Visited Jakhu Temple in Shimla for Hanuman Ji’s darshan. We took a private van from the Clock Tower for ₹300 (up & down for two people), though there’s also an HRTC bus available for around ₹30 which comes every 30–50 minutes. There are a lot of monkeys around; they’re not harmful but you need to be careful with your belongings. Standing below the huge Hanuman statue and offering prayers felt truly divine and peaceful. A must-visit spot for a calm spiritual experience.”

Kempty falls is one of the best places to visit in Mussoorie. The water falls from quite a height and is rather a magnificent sight. The waterfall can be accessed by climbing down some 150 steps or by a ropeway. It is a series of falls and can be viewed from different levels. The approach to the fall has large uneven steps and is not well arranged or maintained. But there are a few places where you can bathe in the collected water. There are some food stalls around and you can sit and eat with your feet dangling in the cool water. 30-45 minutes should be enough to visit the place. Highly recommended.

Lal Tibba Scenic Point is a must-visit spot in Mussoorie, a popular hill station known for its religious sites and colonial heritage. Situated at an altitude of 6000ft, it offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The observation deck features a telescope on the roof of a modest cafe, providing visitors with an opportunity to marvel at the picturesque perspectives and lush green vegetation.
I visited Lal Tibba and absolutely loved the experience! The view from the top was breathtaking, offering a clear glimpse of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. The peaceful atmosphere and old-world charm made it even more special. A perfect spot to enjoy sunrise, nature, and spend quality time with family.

The name Lal Tibba means "Red Hill", it is the highest point in Mussoorie. From here, you can get a great view of the surrounding peaks. It is located at the top of Landour and is a popular tourist destination. It is a great place for picnic. The peak is beautiful and the surroundings are scenic. The best time to visit the Lal Tibba is during sunset or sunrise. Located at an elevation of about 2,275 m (7,464 ft), If you are looking to view the Himalayas from afar, Lal Tibba is the perfect spot for viewing the majestic range.

🌄 Lal Tibba Scenic Cafe – Honest Review & Travel Tips Lal Tibba Scenic Cafe, perched atop Depot Hill in Landour, Mussoorie, is known for being the highest viewpoint in the region at 2,275 meters. While the location promises panoramic views of the Himalayas, my recent visit left me with mixed feelings. 🍽️ Food & Pricing The food served at the cafe is quite average and lacks distinctive flavor. Coffee lovers, beware—their brew was overly sweet and not customizable. There's a ₹50 entry fee to access the upper deck, which is redeemable against your order. However, it's charged per person and must be adjusted against individual items. So, if you're a group of three, you’ll need to order three separate dishes to redeem the full amount. 🌥️ Viewpoint Experience Unfortunately, the Himalayan range wasn’t clearly visible during my visit. For the best views—especially of peaks like Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Banderpoonch—plan your trip around November when the skies are clearer. The viewing area upstairs is quite cramped, especially during peak hours, and the much-advertised binoculars are disappointingly blurry. Don’t rely on them for a detailed view. 📍 Nearby Attractions Despite the underwhelming cafe experience, the surrounding area offers plenty to explore: - Char Dukan: A charming cluster of cafes just a short walk away, perfect for a relaxed snack. - Landour Bakehouse: A colonial-style bakery with excellent pastries and ambiance. - St. Paul’s Church: A serene, historic church nestled in the woods. - Kellogg Memorial Church: A beautiful landmark reflecting British-era architecture. - Benog Tibba & Naag Tibba Treks: Ideal for adventure seekers looking for scenic hikes. - Hathipaon Heritage Walk: A guided trail to “Mini Everest,” offering stunning views and local stories. 📝 Final Thoughts Lal Tibba Scenic Cafe is worth visiting for its historical charm and location, but temper your expectations regarding food and facilities. If you're seeking a peaceful moment with nature, consider visiting early in the morning or during the off-season. And for that postcard-perfect Himalayan view—November is your best bet.

A small three storied structure may be 250 sq ft each floor ground + 2 right on the cliff side with a binoculars installed at the top floor which is an open sitting area. The entrance charge is 50 rs per person which is adjusted against any food order that you place. The view is awesome as it's one of the highest points of Mussoorie. The hot food too was quite good, though you don't have much choice. The shop downstairs from where you enter has spices, honey, bee polen, etc kept for sale.
Vinod N — Google review
Lal Tibba is the highest point in Mussoorie and offers breathtaking views of the valley. The cafe has an entry fee of ₹50/- per head but it can be redeemed in your food bill. There is a telescope on the terrace and you can have your food enjoying the scenery. The food was limited to momos, sandwich, pizza, shakes, etc. and was a bit pricey. The Black coffee with honey was great . There is some local produce like red rice, bee pollen and rock salt for sale. Private residences of some celebrities are also located here. The normal road to Lal Tibba usually gets blocked and traffic is diverted by a very narrow and precarious road. Worth spending 1-2 hours there.

Beautiful place and must visit if you visit mussoorie, they offer great service and memorable experience for a life time. Place get very busy during day. They charge 50 rupees per person as a entry fees and you can use it when you order something from them, which is very reasonable as everyone wants to get inn and place is very small. Highly recommend place

Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh is a significant spiritual site located on the banks of the Ganges River. It is considered the biggest and busiest ghat along the river, holding immense religious importance for Hindus. The evening Aarti, known as Maha Aarti, is a pure and sacred ritual that attracts many devotees. This ghat is renowned for its serene ambiance during early morning hours when visitors can witness the tranquil beauty of sunrise and experience a profound sense of peace.
Must visit place when you are travelling to Rushikesh. The aarti at Triveni ghat is a devotional experience. Reach early to get a good spot for attending the aarti. In winter months aarti starts around 6pm. After the aarti there is Bhajan where one can enjoy the spiritual connection.

I have vitnessed almost all famous aartis of GANGAJI at Haridwar and Rishikesh during the trip but Aarti at Triveni Ghat is One of the best Gangaji Aarti I have. View of Sunset is just refreshing. And only Aarti where everyone is allowed to do Aarti at Free of cost by the management. Management themselves provide Aarti thalis to many people and they shares thalis with each other so each and everyone can enjoy and participate at Aarti. And story doesn't ends here, Bhajan starts after Aarti and surely you will get goosebumps if you have vitnessed the joy. In short don't miss it if you are visiting Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Truly one of the best spiritual experiences of my life. Felt divine and calm attending the Ganga Aarti here. Too much crowded and if you need good places to sit, consider reaching there early. After Ganga Aarti you can sit at the ghats enjoying the peace and serenity.

Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh is a beautiful and peaceful place to experience the true spirit of the Ganga. The atmosphere here is calm in the mornings and truly divine during the evening Ganga Aarti. Watching the lamps floating on the river with the sound of chants feels magical. The area is well-maintained, and you can sit by the river to relax or take a holy dip. It’s one of those places where you feel peace and positivity all around. A must-visit spot for anyone traveling to Rishikesh.

Triveni Ghat is a truly spiritual and beautiful destination in Rishikesh. The evening Ganga Aarti is mesmerizing, with soulful chants and vibrant rituals that create an uplifting atmosphere. Sitting by the banks of the Ganges surrounded by mountains, you feel tremendous peace and positive energy. It can get crowded during the Aarti, so arrive early to get a good spot. The whole experience — from the holy dip in the river to the aarti and the nearby temples — makes Triveni Ghat a must-visit for anyone seeking serenity and divine vibes in Rishikesh.

Its a amazing experience to see ganga aarti there. Ghat is also good and clean. Maybe ut could be little bit crowded depending on any special occasion. But still it look peaceful.
Prashant K — Google review
Well managed. Entry is started at 5 pm for the Arti at 6 pm. Orderly queue is started at 5. People pay to offer 'special' puja, and they're allowed to/ are conducted fpr puja before the Aarti begins. It's well choreographed. Quite a spectacle.
Ajay S — Google review
A very beautiful place to be if you are spiritual. Usually a must visit when the Ganga Aarti happens. Usually during winters the Aarti happens at 5.30pm however it's important that you reach there 20 minutes earlier to get the front seats.

Beautifully located on the top of the mountain with Har Ki Pouri beneath it. The road ,if you go walking, is all winding and will take a long time to reach the top. There is cable car service which is pretty crowded but well organised and takes you up in minutes. The view on the way up or down is awesome, with Ganga stretching out for a very very long distance, the Har Ki Pouri, the bridges, etc you can see and the majestic mountains surrounding the area. The temple was quite crowded and people were unruly pushing and pulling, no crowd control as such. Even the darshan was difficult as people were pushing from the back. Apart from the crowd control rest is good. Jai maa Mansa Devi. 🙏

mansadevi Temple is a peaceful and beautiful place in Haridwar. The view from the top is really nice and you can go by ropeway or by walking. Water and sitting facilities are available at almost every turn which helps a lot while climbing. No photography is allowed inside the temple and there are no entry charges. A proper shoe stand is also available. The temple feels very spiritual and calm.

Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar is one of the most popular and sacred temples, beautifully located on the Shivalik hills overlooking the Ganga and Har Ki Pauri. Devotees can reach the temple either by walking on the winding path or by using the ropeway (Udan Khatola), which offers a stunning aerial view of the city and river. The temple gets quite crowded, especially during festivals, but the atmosphere remains deeply spiritual. Facilities like water points and sitting areas are available. Photography isn’t allowed inside. A must-visit for peace and divine blessings.

✨ Beautiful and peaceful experience at Maa Mansa Devi Temple. The temple is very well-maintained, and the darshan was smooth with no waiting time. The surroundings felt serene, and the overall vibe was truly divine. A must-visit for anyone coming to Haridwar. Highly recommended for a calm and spiritually uplifting experience. 🙏✨
Amit K — Google review
The cable car was a very good experience and offered good views. Keep hold of the ticket if you buy return. The temple complex is very cramped and offers no outside areas (unless you walk up??) The cable car waiting area was not full and the snack outlets in the temple were not open ,I assume it was a less than busy time so I dread to think how claustrophobic it would be when super busy! Shoe stand at entrance. Negotiating each little temple section without being dragged in easier as a westerner but do keep an eye on the rest of the group as we waited ages for" Tail End Charlie "at the the shoe stand on the way out!!
Musicians M — Google review
The temple is located on top of a hill accessed by a ropeway. There is some 15 minutes wait for the ropeway on crowded days. The charges are ₹190 per person and you can book ropeway for Chandi Devi temple too at a discounted package rate here. There is a sloping walkway also available. The views from the ropeway is breathtaking, but the approach to it is through narrow lanes in between houses and dilapidated structures. The Q system was good till the final steps to the temple. Then it became crowded and unruly, maybe due to Diwali week. You can buy some Prasad along the Queue which will be offered to the Goddess and given back. There is a place to keep footwear after the ropeway ride.
