A peaceful place. The walking paths are well made and travelers of all nationalities are always smiling. It’s larger than expected. A slow walk along the beach takes about an hour and a half round trip. In the evening, it gets so crowded with street vendors and locals that it feels like the whole Pondi people has come out. It’s also incredibly beautiful at sunset, so I highly recommend visiting if you have the time

Manakula Vinayaka Temple is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I visited in Pondicherry. The temple has a very positive vibe and you can really feel the divine energy as soon as you enter. The architecture is amazing with colorful carvings and detailed artwork on the walls and ceiling. It’s clean and well-maintained, and the priests are polite and helpful. The place gets a bit crowded, especially during morning and evening aarti, but the overall atmosphere is calm and spiritual. I really enjoyed spending some quiet time here. A divine place !! Must visit spot if you are visiting Pondy !! However, people around there are causing nuisance and disturbance for every tourist!! Place is surrounded by transgender people and child beggars who will surround you until u give money to them. This is actually a concern considering the amount of people visiting every day, it's not in only one street, every street around white town is the same issue , so many people roaming around and causing the issue!! Government has to take some measurements to fix this.

Must visit What could be better: Parking on the boulevard is limited and weekends can get crowded. Photography is usually restricted inside—especially during services—so plan your shots outside. Verdict: Come for quiet prayer and architecture; linger a few minutes just to soak in the stained glass and silence.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Puducherry is a magnificent Neo-Gothic architectural landmark, built between 1902 and 1907 by French missionaries. It is renowned for its Latin cross plan, 24 massive columns, and vibrant stained glass panels depicting the life of Christ and various saints. When we visited it was closed, but guard allowed us till the door for few minutes, Felt happy.

Recently I visited Paradise Beach in Pondicherry. Honestly, the beach is very beautiful, but I found some things that visitors should know before going. First of all, this beach is managed by a private company called Sandunes. Because of that, they charge an entry fee of ₹89 for adults. Once you enter, you will see that they have made a restricted swimming zone. It is marked with green flags and ropes, and only till that area you are allowed to swim. This is good for safety, but it also feels a little controlled. About facilities – they have arranged drinking water, shower area, and restrooms for visitors. This makes it a bit comfortable, especially after playing in the water. They also provide water activities, but honestly, I felt they are very costly compared to other places. Along with that, there are food stalls, clubs, and some entertainment options inside. Overall, the beach is clean and well-maintained, but the commercial setup and extra costs may disappoint people who expect a free, natural beach experience. Still, if you don’t mind paying and want a safe, organized beach visit, then Paradise Beach is worth exploring.

The place is excellent! The entrance fee is ₹89 per person, and the beach is very well maintained. It has fine white sand, plenty of seating areas, clean changing rooms, a restaurant, and water sports activities. The overall vibe is great — we really enjoyed our time here as a family, and the kids absolutely loved it. The only downside is that the approach road is not in good condition.

One of the best experiences ever! We rode all the way from Bangalore directly to Paradise Beach and it was absolutely worth it. The ride itself was smooth and scenic, and once we reached, the beach truly lived up to its name calm, clean, and simply beautiful. Came to this beach via ferry, it's a nice beach, waters are cleaner than regular beaches, sea wasn't too rough too. Adequate life guards present, changing rooms for ladies and fresh water showers present on the beach. Activities were mentioned but found only ATV available. None of the other rides were there. Pleasant beach to swim and play. Restaraunt is there with good food options too. Ferry ride to and fro was calming, took approx 15 to 20 min.. per head cost is 385 to and fro included. Dint see any life jackets in the boat though.

Had a wonderful experience at Chunnambar Boat House with my family. The boat ride to Paradise Beach was smooth and refreshing. The staff were friendly and helped us with safety jackets and boarding. The view of the backwaters is absolutely serene, and the breeze was perfect. This is a must visit if you're in Pondicherry especially with kids. There's a small canteen and rest area too. The boat house area is well maintained and has ample parking space, which is very convenient if you’re coming by car or two-wheeler. There are also cafes and small snack counters where you can grab tea, coffee, and quick bites before or after your ride. Toilets and basic facilities are available and reasonably clean for visitors. The boat ride tickets are a bit on the expensive side, especially if you’re traveling with a family, but the experience makes it worth it. The short ride through the backwaters leading up to Paradise Beach is scenic and relaxing, and reaching the beach by boat adds to the fun. We noticed that the place gets quite crowded as the day progresses, especially on weekends and holidays. It’s best to arrive early in the morning to avoid long queues for tickets and boats, and to enjoy the beach when it’s quieter. Overall, Chunnambar Boat House is a well-managed and enjoyable spot, especially if you’re planning to visit Paradise Beach. The facilities, scenic views, and boat experience make it a must-visit attraction in Puducherry.

Went to this place to catch a ferry to go to paradise beach. It has ample parking space (chargeable). You have a counter near the parking where you have to pay parking fees and entry fees. Once you enter the gates, it's a park type area with open space and trees. As you walk towards the water area where the boats are, there's a cafe, places to sit and a toilet that you can use. Near the boats is the 2nd ticket counter where you buy tickets for the ferry (to and fro + beach). No queue, but once you are in the boat, you have to wait for sometime until people fill up the boat, then only the boat captain departs. The journey to the beach is approx 15 min, the waters are smooth, there are people standing waist deep in the water and fishing which probably means the waters aren't very deep.. you can see occasional flying fish!

Total scam in the name of Paradise Beach. Avoid this place at all costs. This place is a tourist trap with horrible management, rude staff, and no value for money. The boat ride costs ₹350 per person (return) for a 10–15 minute straight-line ride to a small patch of beach that they misleadingly call Paradise Beach. Let me be very clear: this is NOT the actual Paradise Beach everyone talks about. The real Paradise Beach, the one with water sports, paragliding, clean washrooms, good restaurants, and proper facilities, is accessible directly by road, right next to Radisson Blu Resort. But the Chunnambar boat house staff will lie and tell you the road is unsafe or closed, just to force you into paying for their overpriced, underwhelming boat service. What they actually take you to is a small fenced-off beach, isolated and with nothing to do except sit on sand. You can literally see the actual Paradise Beach from a distance — separated by ropes and guards — but you’re not allowed to cross. It feels like they’re mocking you: “Look what you missed because you listened to us.” The staff are rude and arrogant, not interested in answering questions. They’ll ignore you unless you’re paying, and if you ask too much, they give you dirty looks and walk away. It's a complete money-first operation. Here’s the truth: If you just want to enjoy a basic boat ride, then maybe this is okay. But if your goal is to actually visit Paradise Beach with all the proper experiences, skip this boat house and go by road. The real beach costs only ₹70 per person and offers a proper experience. Other beaches like Auroville Beach, Rock Beach, Serenity Beach, and Eden Beach are also better options — most of them are free to enter (and not monopolized or falsely marketed like this one). They might not be as polished, but at least they’re honest. Don’t fall into the trap like we did. Do your research and save your money. This boat house misuses the name “Paradise Beach” to scam unsuspecting tourists.

Nice spot for hangout, mostly deserted during mornings and off-season. Cool scenery and seating spots available, great location for campfire trips. Government tourist guesthouse available nearby. Only disgusting factor is that they dissolve lot of dead people’s ashes and leave the pots and flower garlands lying in the beach that gives the beach a horror look and polluted too!

Good place for kids to play around as there are some play time for kids and camel 🐪 ride. Awesome place, we can spend max 1-2 hours. There are garbage near the beach and it’s not clean and not maintained. The road leading to the beach is good and decent. We can get fresh fish over here from 2 pm till 9pm. It safe due to police station is 100 m away but there are no life life guard in here. Pics were taken during gaja cyclone , that’s why water logging is there near kids area.

After tsunami, this beach is called Silver beach.Nice beach for couples and families. There's sitting benches. Place is looking beautiful and noise free. Children are playing there. If you are go with car, no problem, either we want to wait 30 minutes for public transport.

Very good place to visit people who wants to peace and happiness must go. The only drawback is little bit 💧 not clear . We only stand in 💧 and enjoy the waves. Not suits us to take bath 😕.

I usually give five stars to the temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Budhan and Lord Shiva. But I observed that the maintenance of the ponds was very bad. Restroom was pathetic 😞 😢. We can lite 16 no of deepam to fulfill one's desires.🌝 When I visited the temple there was no proper guidance of the ponds. A deep spiritual experience to all the temples in Thiruvenkadu. It's huge and spacious. It has three ponds which pertain to Agni, Suriyan and chandiran where devotees have to take holy dip. But the water and algae was found at the steps. So can't take the dip. Don't carry clothes. The Thillai Nataraja temple in Chidambaram is also very rich in heritage and history. His spouse Goddess Kaali/Durga is in her peaceful avatar and together with Lord Nataraja unlike Chidambaram where she is angry and lives outside the town seperately from her spouse. Lord shiva in his Swethaaranyewarar form is divine and all generous in his blessing. You may visit if you are visiting Mayiladuthurai or Kumbakonam. The temple is undergoing renovation. Kumbh ABhisekam is done on 7th July2025.

An old man from the town said this is the only temple with 3 ponds namely agni, surya, chandra 🔥☀️🌙 The general format is to visit the main lord Swetharanyar and then ambal and finally lord Budhan aka mercury. The Temple is so huge. Taking time to experience it fully is a complete experience.

Visited recently. Very beautiful place and mesmerizing. Looks like an island. Weekends we can expect more crowd. We chose row boat so that we can spend more time and distance. Motor boat not able to go through narrow area . So row boat gave lovely experience. Row boat 700 which means amount for that boat and 6 member's allowed for the same cost. I got tickets from the counter. We can do the same via online also. I paid extra to boat person he took us inside deep place wow it's very very beautiful. Rest room facilities available. Food stall also there.

Place has ample car parking. Boat rides are provided by both TTDC and Forest department. We went for TTDC. This review is about them. There are both rowing and motor boats. Both are driven by their personal. We took rowing boat for 6 persons (1 hr ride time). Charge is 700+Forest dept. charges (10/person). Better take rowing as they go deep into shallow waters. Boat ride time is 40 min. Expect a minimum wait time of 1 hour during moderate rush. Waiting area has less seats and many had to stand. Could improve this by expanding the area. Life jackets are provided but most are old and some had no straps.

We took a motor boat ride with eight people in one boat costing ₹2000. The boat had a optional covered roof useful during sun or rain and covered about 5 km across the scenic mangrove waters. Compared to row boats motor boats are better to explore larger areas comfortably. It was a peaceful and adventurous one-hour ride truly unforgettable! Visited last week pure divine 🙏🏻. This temple is Renovated recently. Pond is well Maintained which is so neat and clean. One of the oldest temple. We can have the mandabam for Ear piercing, marriages and other functions. Need to park the car in the NH road.

Great architecture with a wide halls of paintings and enlarged entrance that gives a amazing feel on entry… the god here is Lord Siva with a holistic view. Entire peace of mind from entrance to exit… really amazing.. must visit..

After a long time, temple pond is open. Sprinkle the water on your head first before dipping your legs & be careful it's full of mosses. Main shrine Ambal & Vaitheeshwaran shiva lingam is in pitch dark & Ankgarakan is bright with focus light which is not appreciable though other shrines in pitch dark is also not acceptable. They should lit enough lamps inside the shrine to make it bright, only then elderly people can see at least what's inside. Temple is clean & tidy, recently renovated (Kumbashishekam in April 2021) & painted with beautiful colours on the temple tower & on the walls. Purchase & offer some Salt & pepper in place which you'll find opposite to Ambal shrine, have them as prasatham which cures digestion problem which is the root cause for most of the serious illness. Very traditional temple. It is important to learn the history and praying procedure before visiting. There is a medicine available to buy that is created from holy water and other ingredients. So called Vaitheeswaran temple (medicine/doctor meaning).

A beautiful temple with wonderful vibrations. The temple complex is enormous. The temple main deity is Vaitheeswaran:: Shiva the healer. People come here to pray to swamy to heal them of their diseases. The tank inside the temple is gorgeous.

Main god - Lord Shiva (vaitheeswaran), Thaiyal Naayagi, Sevvaai (Mars - one of the anugraahas), Selvakumaraswamy. Lord Shiva in the form of healing god. The pond is sacred. 5km from Sirkazhi 30km from Chidambaram (45 minutes travel by bus) If you want to reach this place by train from Chennai, Cholan express is the only train which stops here.

A very famous and multituded temple in everyday. Lord Shiva as vaithyanathaswamy and goddess as Thaiyalnaayaki and one of the Navagraha sththalam of Lord Angaarakan (god of strength, omnipotent and braveness).

Divine place surrounded with frauds in the name of agasthiyar nadi jothidam, no people's brokers are roaming there who can take you to nadi jothidam and make your money waste and distract your mind, They use to say that jothidam is run by temple authorities, but fact is 'No' we accidently came to know that is fraud business when I was in restroom of that office, then we started arguing with them for solution and truth, finally we called the police to solve the issue, then police Gave statement like who ever runs the jothidam office they all r frauds only so don't trust and go with brokers or directly, I wonder and came to know those jothidam offices are running with police knowledge alone, Many jothidam centres are running under lodges and Rooms.

At first i'm very existed to see the temple. But the construction is on going it wasn't fully finished. so little disappointment🤏. But happy, to see the Lord Shiva🙏

Though the priests are very knowledgeable they have become very commercialized. If a devotee offers more money they take special care of that devotee and if someone can't afford it then they don't give the viboothi Prasad also properly. Since these priests are in divine service, they should not show such kind of bias among devotees.

We visited the temple and i was really disappointed with the archagar who asked me to give more money. We had already bought 5 archanai tickets to make the poojas. At the end of the 5 archanai,the archagar asked for Xrs. Basically, this is an illegal earning for them and there was not prior information to us. We gave him good money. but he refused to, and started shouting and asking for 2*Xrs. It is totally not fair what these archagars are doing in this temple. It's a shame(for those who doing such things). There is no dignity. We totally did not feel the feeling of visiting the temple. He kept barking even though we gave him money and left there silently with my family-friends and kids. So be careful with such archagar in this temple. Commit to the extra money on top of the actual archanai tickets. Anyway, next time, if i have the opportunity to visit the temple without family-kids, I definitely must meet and tell them to sit outside the temple along with beggars to earn money. I dont know how such a temple allows such archagar get inside and doing robbery from devotees. Also, I don't understand how they can force such extent to give money when we inside a temple. We know only beggars request money but its actually begging. Not sure what to call these kinds of incidents happening inside temples, but it is robbery. Shame on that archagar(who doing such things)

An important temple, from the point of puranas and ithihasas. Lord Rama is said to have given Tharpan to Jatayu at this spot. God of medicines resides here. This town is famous for naadi josyam, but I won't suggest it here, lots of money minded people doing it and it would be hard to find the true persons.

I had a wonderful visit to the Shri Agneeswarar Temple in Kanjanur, near Kumbakonam. The journey from Kumbakonam took about 30 minutes by bus, followed by a short 500-meter walk to the temple. Outside, we got an ‘archanai’ set for about 200 rupees, which included offerings like coconut, banana, and flowers. We also bought some white lotus flowers, which added to the experience. The temple itself was peaceful and we had a chance to sit down and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Around noon, they offered free lunch as annadhanam, which was such a generous gesture. Overall, it was a memorable and spiritually fulfilling visit!

One of the Navagraha sthalams in TN. Surya Bhagavan is main deity here surrounded by other Gragha devas. We can also see Vishalakshi and Viswanathar here before going to Siva Suryanar sanctum. Now renovation works are undergoing so too dusty here. More wait time on Sundays as it is a auspicious day for Lord Surya. Must visit once in lifetime of every hindu devotees.

Sooriyan Temple - Temple is very nice. I visited this temple on 28 Oct morning. Street parking available. Roads are good to temple. Renovation was in progress. not much crowded at the time I visited. Hence had a very great time

The main temple for the sun god. This temple has a big history. This is located near Kumbakonam. Also there are many places and temples to be visited in and around this temple surroundings. Currently when we visited this temple it was getting ready to do maha kumbh. So we couldn't get opportunity to visit the entire temple. But though this temple has some internal power. A must visit temple in Kumbakonam. It was told that the best day to visit this temple is on Sunday.

A small, homely temple with beautiful idols of Surya and Guru grahas. Recommended for those wishing to pacify the Sun in their horoscope. There isn’t much to see architecture-wise, and renovation work is currently in progress. You can buy lovely lotus garlands (₹100–150) from the flower shops near the temple gate to offer to the Sun God.

This is a beautiful temple of Panduranga Vithala and Matha Rukmani. Adorned immaculately the place is peaceful and serene. The atmosphere is so peaceful. You can spend some time in sitting and meditating. The temple has a nice golden chariot. They run a Veda Patasala. Most importantly the temple has a Goshala which is maintained very well. You can such lovely cute eyed cows and calves; also bulls. You can donate for this noble cause. The beautiful images of these cows and calves is bound to be etched in your memories for long. The temple has good parking facility.

Sri Vittal Rukmini Temple is located on the Highways just 10 kms from Kumbakonam. This is built by Vittaldas Maharaj in July 2011. A big elevated building with 27 steps. The Gopuram of the Temple is 150 feet height. The interior of the main hall is painted with Shrines of Lord Krishna. There is a well maintained Goshala where hundreds of cows are taken care of. There is no pillar in the Vasantha Madapam which can accommodate more than 2000 devotees who can chant Namajebams. This is fully air conditioned. The entire Madapam is decorated with fibre glass paintings. It looks like a star hotel instead of temple. The vibration is missing in this Temple.

Serene place. Good one to spend with family. They have a huge varieties of cattles and maintains it well. They are basically rescued and brought over. Pooja for cattles happens every evening. Donation accepted to feed them.

Part of the same ghat section, this place doesn't get as many visitors as its famous counterpart coutrallam. But the bathing experience is similar and more fun than at coutrallam owing to less crowd. The less crowd is due to the location of the place. This needs a entry permit (paid on arrival), and there is a one-way path to the falls from the gate (a distance of ~5KM). But it's worth the time spent in travel as you can bathe to heart's content. Downside is that there are no eateries nearby (nearest eatery is ~10KM away).

Nice place to enjoy with the family and friends. Well maintained by the forest department. The public is also cooperative with them and do not throw or use the plastic for the good environment. Meals and Tiffen both Veg and Non - Veg. Is prepared by the shop owners by giving the order in advance. Need more clean in the restroom area. Take care of old age and children while bathing because the water flow area is not even with more irregular rocks. The mountain view from 500 mts. is amazing. Bus service is also available from Thuraiyur.

We had visited this falls by the recommendation from our stay people at NTR resort. This was not too far from our location. The entry fee is rupees thirty each. Parking space is available. Must walk for ten mins to reach the falls. The water colour when we had gone was muddy. The flow of the water was good. Many people were playing in the falls and it was safe. There are many shops at the entrance if you want to snack on something. Would recommend this place to others.

Its a very nice place to visit. Easy and clear navigation route. There're spaces to change clothes. Enough parking space is available. The waterfall is quite nice with clear waterfall flowing down.

Visited on (11.11.2025) entrance they charging 30 per person but not giving receipt, 3 to 4 times asked after that they are giving. Toilet worst condition, only one dress changing room are opened. Please take charge and maintain our tourist spots.. please...

Not a falls person but this made me one. It was majestic, spectacular and huge. We had to climb down steep steps of 1100 steps to get down there. Getting up again might be difficult. But it's worth the trip. Literally the best falls in Tamil Nadu imo.

It’s divine place. Cave temple. I don’t know it’s true or not person inside in the cave temple there is a cave route behind the statue which to lead to thalaivasal. Nice drive to hill top, good view point, you can get local grown spices, herb soup is must try. Overall is good

I like to walk on this vast expanse of flat ground. It's so breezy. The sunset was great This is turning out to be the go-to place for open drinking as evidenced by the numerous alcohol bottles and plastic cups strewn around. Dicky- bars are the in thing and it is not safe anymore to go out with women and children. Will the Yercaud Municipality think of cleaning up the place. Even the dustbin provided are overflowing. Will the Police atleast prevent public drinking in open spaces

One of the best view point in yercaud is shevaroyan temple view. U have very ancit temple with cave. After that view point and Thantoori Tea, games, and dont miss the soup near by temple . Which is avilable only in yercaud. Taste like goat leg soup.

It's a pleasant experience visiting this temple on every trip to Yercaud. I usually visit on my last day while returning. You can get nice clicks on the view point to which you can drive up to. If you are with family, no need to walk all the way. Sadly our beloved fellow Indians throw all kinds of garbage in that place from plastics to glass bottles. Something to be cautious about if you are with kids. The temple experience is pleasant and if you are tall at 6ft like me you have to crouch a bit to get in the cave. Nevertheless, it's a great place to visit.

Defenetly not a choice if you are looking for more games, they have only very less games but more down in their website. The guy sitting in the reception billing section dint have patience to explain , he hardly responds.. The property is good, but only zip line game is kind of ok. Each game is being charged from Rs.400 to Rs.500

During my recent journey to Namakkal, I had the privilege of visiting the awe-inspiring Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple, renowned for its 18-foot tall monolithic statue of Lord Hanuman—one of the tallest in South.

This temple is of a large sized boon giving Anjaneya in standing posture. Here Anjaneya with folded hands, is facing the sannidhi of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha across the road. Regular Pujas and Thirumanjanams are held to this deity by aspiring devotees - including betel leaves mala, sandal paste, white butter, vadamala etc. A must visit temple in Namakkal & a popular Parihara sthalam.
