Devanahalli Fort

Built in 1501, this mud, lime & brick fortress with semi-circular bastions spreads over 20 acres.
Not that popular spot. Not crowded, peaceful ambiance. No Entry fee. Don't expect much. It's just the fort walls left without maintenance. You can cover it in 30 minutes or so.
Subin S — Google review
Nice historical place near Bangalore. Devanahalli Fort is a peaceful and well-maintained historical site about 35 km from Bangalore. It's not very crowded and has some beautiful old architecture, including a temple and Tipu Sultan’s birthplace. Good for a short visit or a weekend drive. Entry is free. Worth checking out if you enjoy history and quiet places.
UMER P — Google review
Devanahalli Fort is a beautiful and peaceful historic spot located just outside Bangalore. The fort has a calm atmosphere with ancient stone walls and wide open surroundings that give you a glimpse into the past. It’s not crowded, which makes it a perfect place to enjoy a quiet walk or spend some relaxed time. The fort is especially suitable for sunrise and sunset, when the sky lights up with warm colors and the entire place looks stunning. You can enjoy great views, take amazing photos, or simply sit and admire the peaceful environment. The area is well maintained and easy to access, making it a nice short getaway for history lovers, travelers, and anyone who enjoys scenic and calm places.
Albin M — Google review
Not a Fort, Just a Forgotten Wall This isn’t really a fort—more like a neglected stretch of wall that has seen better days. What could have been a beautiful tourist destination is now little more than ruins. Only the outer wall remains, and within it lies a small town or village settlement. There’s nothing particularly engaging or historic to see here. Unless you’re completely out of things to do and simply want a walk along an elevated wall-like structure, I wouldn’t recommend making the trip. Visit at your own risk.
Harish V — Google review
The historical significance of Devanahalli fort is so important for south India. As the the ruler of the south 'Tipu Sultan' was born inside of this fort during the 1500AD. I had a great desire of visiting the fort but when I reached here, I am quite disappointed with how the fort is maintained. The fort has uneaten food left on the block and most part of the fort are filled with names of couples written all over the wall. I advice people to please not destroy such historically rich place. Other than that, there is no entry fees. And inside the fort, there is a village and several beautiful hindu temples. If you are visiting for the first time, I would recommend you to visit the fort. It's mainly an old wall, other than that there is not much to do here.
Rangdol D — Google review
Devanahalli Fort Located just a short walk from Devanahalli town (about 35 km north of Bengaluru), Devanahalli Fort is a lesser-known yet historically rich monument. Built in 1501 by Malla Byre Gowda, a chieftain under the Vijayanagara Empire, the fort has seen centuries of political change, coming under the control of the Wodeyars of Mysore, the Marathas, and later Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. The fort stands out for its strategic circular design, constructed using lime mortar and stone, with well-placed bastions and watchtowers for defense. It served both as a military stronghold and a key trading post between the Hyderabad and Mysore kingdoms. Today, modern houses lie within its ancient walls, making it one of the rare forts that still encloses a living community. Though recognized as an archaeological monument, the site is largely neglected — there are no caretakers, restrooms, or tourist facilities. However, the main entrance arch remains intact, reflecting the fort’s original craftsmanship. Nearby is the birthplace of Tipu Sultan, marked by a small commemorative structure, making the site even more significant for those interested in colonial resistance history. An adjacent lake adds to the fort’s natural beauty and highlights its historical role in the region’s trade and defense. Despite limited upkeep, Devanahalli Fort offers a rare, authentic window into pre-colonial South Indian life, architecture, and heritage. A must-visit for history enthusiasts, photographers, and cultural explorers. ✅ Free entry | Open 24/7 🚗 Limited free parking available just inside the entrance 📍 No restroom and refreshments available — plan accordingly
Ummer K — Google review
Devanahalli Fort is located 35 kilometers (22 mi) north of Bangalore city, at Devanahalli in the State of Karnataka, India. Chieftain Malla Byre Gowda of Avathi, a Vijayanagara empire vassal, built a mud fort in c. 1501 at Devanadoddi (now called Devanahalli). In the late 18th century, Hyder Ali re-constructed the fort in stone resulting in the current structure.
Jayamanivel — Google review
Nothing much to see, just saw the protective wall. It is near the birthplace of Tipu Sultan and was built by him. The techniques used by them to keep an eye on the enemy through the wall was commendable. There are some beautiful temples around. ASI hasn't put any effort in protecting it.

What to say other than Amezing!!! You get to enjoy the large dine area, some magazines in quite zone and to top they got live counters and of course the Buffet. I must say the appetizer to dessert meal buffet comprises of variety of dishes. Although the theme is quite same always they tend to keep some twist in dishes that i like. Live counters are the steel deal the Pasta, Dosa and Kathi roll counters are awesomely yumm you must try.
KANDARP S — Google review
Nice lounge.. they also serve liquor which is chargeable. Food options are available. They also have live counter for dosa and parantha which is a nice add on. Their tea collection is really very nice. I loved their Kahwa dip tea which i haven't seen anywhere else till date. They also serve filter coffee which is very authentic in taste. Washrooms are also inside the premises. It's good for a stopover and get some snacks and drinks. Staff is nice too.
Gunjita J — Google review
Good place to stay before departure, if you hold a credit card which has good weight then your entry will be free. Food section is above average, dessert is good.

This is the best lounge at Bengaluru airport. Lots of options available for all to choose and have it before the departure for destinations.
Raj P — Google review
One of the best lounge across India. Variety of food and ambience are too good. Only thing i dislike about this lounge is, they allow us inside only before 3 hours from departure time.
Sathyan M — Google review
They take the efforts to decorate the premise as per festival season prevailing. Great ambience and ease of access, unlike other lounge situated at Kempagowda International Airport. The variety of cuisine available is also adequate. The staff is courteous and respectful. The area is neat and tidy. Definite pit stop if you have enough time in your hand before your flight.

Entry allowed 3 hours before the flight. They charge 1500 INR per person, if you don't have a complementary pass. Very crowded. Complementary food available 24 hrs. Their breakfast spread is excellent. Have live counters for dosa items and egg. Self service. Alcoholic beverages to be purchased.

ISKCON Bangalore

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The ISKCON temple in Bangalore, located in Rajaji Nagar, is a magnificent tribute to Lord Krishna. The temple was built on a 7-acre campus and took 6 years to complete. Designed by Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, the architecture features a stunning 17-meter gold-plated flag post and 8.5-meter gold Kalash Shikaras. Situated on Hare Krishna Hill, the temple's Neo-Classical style blends modern amenities with traditional design.
ISKCON Temple in Bengaluru is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The best part is the Harinaama Dwara — before entering the main temple, you take 108 steps, and before each step, you chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. It feels very pure and peaceful while doing that. Before entering the main temple of Shri Krishna, just take a moment to enjoy the breeze, calmness, and the amazing city view — it feels really soothing. The temple is clean and well managed with cloakrooms, shoe counters, and parking. There’s also a metro station that connects directly to the temple premises, which makes it easy to reach. While exiting, make sure to try the sweets — they’re very tasty and worth it. Overall, a wonderful and divine experience.
Shlok M — Google review
I’m from Tamil Nadu, and for almost 3 years I had a deep wish to visit the ISKCON Temple in Bangalore. Finally, life gave me the chance—and the moment I stepped in, it truly felt divine. The temple is beautiful, calm, and peaceful beyond words. The architecture, the chants, and the positive energy around make it a perfect place to find inner peace. The environment is very well maintained, and the devotees are humble and welcoming. You can feel a sense of calmness the moment you enter. It’s not just a temple—it’s an experience that touches your heart. 💫 Very beautiful and peaceful temple — everyone must visit this place at least once in their life. 🙏🤍😇
Vijayakumar V — Google review
It was a truly mesmerising day when I decided to visit the ISKCON temple over the weekend. As I approached the temple, I could feel the spiritual energy enveloping the atmosphere, despite the crowd of devotees that had gathered. The intricate architecture of the white temple stood out beautifully against the blue sky, and the sounds of chanting filled the air, creating a serene yet lively ambience. Inside, the aroma of fresh flowers and incense wafted through the halls, enhancing the sacred experience. People of all ages were engaged in prayer and meditation, their faces reflecting a deep sense of peace and devotion. I found solace in the rhythmic chants and the uplifting energy that pervaded the space. The sense of community among the visitors was palpable, and I felt connected to something much larger than myself. It was a day filled with tranquillity and a profound sense of purity, making me grateful for the opportunity to be there.

Nice place to worship Lord Krishna. Very well connected with metro and Bengaluru buses. In temple, darshan facilities, food & water facilities are good. Overall very good arrangements, cleanliness and nice experience. Only thing is no special feeling. It's like visiting any other temple. Maybe because temple is surrounded by big buildings; so not giving that divine vibes where we tries to connect with God with peace.
Surendra S — Google review
I recently visited the ISKCON Temple in Bengaluru, and honestly, it left me feeling peaceful and refreshed in a way I didn’t expect. The moment you walk in, the calmness just hits you. The place is beautifully built, super clean, and has this soothing atmosphere that makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. The sound of “Hare Krishna” chants playing continuously in the background creates such a positive vibe — it’s something you actually feel, not just hear. The evening aarti was easily the best part of my visit. Watching it in person, with the lights, music, and devotion in the air, felt incredibly grounding and comforting. The whole temple is very well managed, and the volunteers are genuinely kind and helpful — something you really appreciate when the place is this busy. There’s also a prasadam hall, a food court with really tasty sattvic food, and a nice little shop with books and souvenirs. Everything is neatly maintained and adds to the overall experience. If you’re in Bengaluru, I’d say this is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss. Whether you’re going for prayer, peace, or just to see something beautiful, you’ll walk out with a lighter heart and a calmer mind.

I recently visited ISKCON Temple Bengaluru, and it was such a beautiful and peaceful experience. The temple is truly magnificent the architecture, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere make you feel calm and positive the moment you step inside. The chants of Hare Krishna and the devotional music create such a divine vibe. Watching the evening aarti was honestly the highlight of my visit it felt so spiritual and soothing. The temple is also very well organized, and the volunteers are polite and helpful. There’s a prasadam hall, a small food court serving delicious sattvic meals, and even a shop where you can buy books and souvenirs. Everything is neat and well maintained. The temple complex is huge and beautifully designed, making it a great place for both devotees and tourists. If you’re in Bengaluru, ISKCON is a must-visit whether you go for spiritual peace, prayer, or just to admire the stunning architecture. You’ll definitely leave feeling calm and refreshed. 🙏✨
Partha M — Google review
This place is serene and calm atmosphere to enlighten the spiritual experience within you. It is well connected with all public transport as it is located in the heart of the city. If you're driving a four wheeler then parking charges of 40 rupees collected. You shall easily spend an hour or three including the shopping of artifacts and other devotional items inside the temple premises. Multiple vaishnavaite deities are present here. Everything is maintained near and clean. An artificial waterfall and a lake add more charm to this place. This place is getting upgraded with more infrastructure as the construction is going on as well.
Sathish M — Google review
The ISKCON Temple is truly a serene and spiritual place to visit. The moment you enter, you feel a sense of calm and positivity. The temple is very well maintained, with clean surroundings and beautifully designed architecture. The daily aarti and chanting create an uplifting atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. The devotees and staff are polite, helpful, and always ready to guide visitors. The prasadam served here is delicious and prepared with great care. There are also small shops where you can buy books, souvenirs, and devotional items. Whether you are looking for peace, spirituality, or simply a pleasant place to spend time, the ISKCON Temple is a wonderful choice. Highly recommended for families, tourists, and anyone seeking a refreshing break from the busy city life.

Bengaluru Palace

Historical place museum
Sights & Landmarks
Bengaluru Palace, a modern royal residence inspired by Windsor Castle, is a must-visit destination in the city. Built in 1878 as the abode for Mysore King Chamarajendra Wadiyar X's son, this historical marvel boasts large courtyards, stunning interior decor, fortified towers, and colorful gardens. The palace also houses an amusement park and offers tours to visitors.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Bengaluru Palace is a true architectural gem that beautifully captures the grandeur of a bygone era. The palace interiors are absolutely stunning — intricate wooden carvings, elegant chandeliers, vintage furniture, and portraits that tell stories of royal heritage. The audio guide is informative and helps you appreciate the history behind every hall and artifact. The surrounding gardens are well-maintained and perfect for a peaceful stroll. The palace also offers a glimpse into the cultural richness of Bengaluru beyond its modern façade. A must-visit for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates royal elegance.
Rushikesh A — Google review
It's a good place to spend sometime exploring the history of bangalore's royals. I'm personally not a big fan though of such a place so it all depends on one's taste what they are expecting from it. The most unique thing i found was the display of wardrobe of the royal wadiyar family which gave a glimpse of what they used to wear. It's not a very big place. You can easily cover entire palace from inside in 30-40 mins and around 20-30 mins to explore the little garden area which is opposite the palace when you come out after visiting the palace. Photography inside palace is restricted in most areas barring few public corners. You can get some great views and pics with the palace from garden area. There is a per person ticket of ₹300/- (as in Sep 2025) which i felt was quite high but again it also depends what you have come to this place to explore. Ideally ticket must have been 50 or 100 rupees. Note. There is a metro station nearby that directly let's you enter inside a mall. If you're coming to this palace from that mall, avoid taking an auto or taxi from that area. Just walk a little ahead from the mall area and then hire an auto or best book using ola or rapido
Abrar A — Google review
They charge ₹300 per person, which is quite expensive for a common man with a family of four. Overall, the place is good, but photography is not allowed, and access to most spots is prohibited. As for the property, it deserves 5 stars, but the administration deserves only 2 stars. They provide a free audio guide which is very helpful...
Aniruddha W — Google review
Its good historical monument to be visited to understand how the Royal family used to live. There are audio description device available as well acting as guide while you visit the palace. Best time visit is ealry morning or evening if you want some stunning photos.
Veerendra S — Google review
Bangalore Palace is a beautiful place to visit, with stunning architecture and a rich royal history. The interior is well-maintained, and the audio guide gives a nice overview of the palace’s past. The gardens outside are also lovely for photos and a peaceful walk. One important thing to note: there is no online payment option available at the ticket counter, so make sure to carry cash or a physical card with you. This will save you time and hassle at the entrance.
Grace — Google review
The outer view of the palace and the surrounding garden are fantastic. However, the number of historical items on display is quite limited, and the entire visit takes barely an hour. The ticket queue is usually short, and photography is not allowed inside the museum. The staff members are friendly. There are no food, water, or juice stalls available near the palace, which is a basic necessity. Overall, the experience was moderate. 👍
Chirojit S — Google review
Not at all wheelchair accessible but I wish it was… my cousins took an audio tour of the palace and told me that it was a gorgeous palace and museum. Entry fee was Rupees 300 for Indian citizens and I wish they had taken a fee from me too and made it accessible… And the best part? There was actually a lift from the bygone days but now shut for public . Wish someone thought of a way to renovate it for us so we too could enjoy this place as others. #rpwdact2016
WheelchairTravels W — Google review
Bangalore Palace is a historical monument and definitely worth visiting at least once for its heritage value. However, the entry fee is quite high, especially considering what’s inside. Compared to other famous palaces in India, there isn’t much to see here. The interiors are decent but not very impressive for the price they charge (₹300).

Established in 1870, it covers an impressive 300 acres of lush greenery and is often referred to as the "lungs of Bengaluru." The park features well-maintained walking paths, beautifully landscaped gardens, and play areas for visitors to enjoy.

I recently visited Cubbon Park, and it was such a peaceful and refreshing experience! 🌿 The place is full of greenery and tall trees that make you forget you’re in the middle of the city. It’s really well-maintained, with clean walking paths and open areas to just sit and relax. I saw people jogging, families spending time together, and many enjoying the calm atmosphere. The cool breeze and natural beauty make it a perfect spot for morning or evening visits. Overall, it’s one of the best places in Bangalore to unwind and enjoy a bit of nature! 🌳✨

Recently, I visited Cubbon Park in Bangalore, and it turned out to be a refreshing escape from the city’s chaos. Spread across around 300 acres, this lush green paradise is truly the “lungs” of the city. The moment I entered, I was welcomed by tall trees, fresh air, and the sound of birds — a rare treat in a busy metro. The good part is definitely the peaceful atmosphere. You’ll see joggers, cyclists, families, and even pet lovers enjoying their time here. The park is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of benches to sit and relax. The State Central Library with its iconic red building inside the park adds a classic charm — perfect spot for photos. It’s also very safe and ideal for morning walks or evening strolls. However, there are a few downsides too. Parking can be a headache on weekends, and sometimes the park gets overcrowded. In a few corners, you might also spot people littering, which slightly ruins the beauty of the place. The park opens from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and I’d suggest the best time to visit is early morning between 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM — when it’s calm, less crowded, and the weather feels amazing. Overall, Cubbon Park is a must-visit for nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone looking to take a break from Bangalore’s traffic and noise.

🌿 Sri Chamarajendra Park (Cubbon Park) – A Peaceful Morning Escape in the Heart of Bengaluru! 🌿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I visited Sri Chamarajendra Park (ಶ್ರೀ ಚಾಮರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನ) early in the morning, and it was such a refreshing and peaceful experience. The air felt crisp, the surroundings were calm, and the chirping of birds created a serene atmosphere that made the walk truly rejuvenating. 🕊️ The park is beautifully maintained with lush green lawns, huge old trees providing shade, and wide walking trails perfect for a morning jog or stroll. 🌳 There were also a few playful and friendly dogs around, adding to the park’s lively charm. 🐶 What I loved most was how peaceful it felt despite being right in the center of the city — a perfect balance between nature and urban life. Whether you’re looking to start your day with some calm, spend quiet time amidst greenery, or just enjoy a slow walk with nature, Cubbon Park is the ideal spot. 🌸 ✅ Clean, spacious, pet-friendly, and full of positive energy — a must-visit for nature lovers in Bengaluru!

Perfect Place to Unwind with Friends Cubbon Park 🌿✨ We recently visited Cubbon Park as a group of friends, and it turned into one of those days that you just don’t want to end! The park is a green paradise right in the middle of Bangalore, filled with tall trees, walking paths, and open spaces that make you forget you’re still in the city. The place is very well maintained clean paths, shady spots to relax, and plenty of benches around. We saw families picnicking, people jogging, kids playing, and even pet owners out for walks it has such a calm and refreshing vibe. The cool breeze and greenery make it a perfect escape for both morning and evening visits. 🌳 We had a great time just walking, laughing, clicking photos, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. There’s so much space that even with a crowd, it never feels packed. You can simply sit under a tree, read, or just enjoy nature and good company. A few nice touches: • Dog-friendly 🐾 saw many happy pups running around! • Toilets available and decently maintained. • Playing cards aren’t allowed helps keep the vibe calm and family-friendly. Overall, Cubbon Park is one of the best spots in Bangalore to relax, recharge, and connect whether with friends, family, or just yourself. The best park in Bangalore. Ample space to sit and relax. A lot of people come in to walk, run, play some fun games. Most bring their sheets to sit and spend quality time with their friends and families. Must visit.

Such a peaceful place to spend your weekend with friends and family. You can see a lot of people there but still you will get that privacy for enjoying a good time with your baby or your loved ones. There are some do's and dont's mentioned in the front area like no outside food, no playing, no gathering of more than 20 people etc so read before you enter. No entrance fee. Paid parking is there.

I had a great experience visiting this place. The topics covered are excellent and very helpful for school students. I noticed many students enjoying their time and engaging with the exhibits. All the units on display are well-maintained, fully functional, and provided a clear understanding of the concepts. The only drawback is the lack of dedicated parking, so I had to use paid parking services nearby. Overall, a very educational and enjoyable visit!

It’s a great place for both kids and adults to explore science and technology in an interactive and fun way.The museum has multiple floors with exhibits on space, mechanics, biology, engines, electricity, and more. What I really liked was the handson experience, you can touch, try, and experience how things work. The Science on a Sphere and engine sections were especially impressive. Some parts of the museum feel a bit old, but overall it's well-maintained and informative. I spent a good 3–4 hours here, and it was totally worth it.And I had a wonderful day and a great experience with my friends. 🎯 Great place for college students and school students and families. 🎯 Interactive and educational. 🎯 Reasonable entry fee. One of the smallest yet busiest metro stations on the purple line of namma metro. It looks old now, and deserves a renovation. It serves the neighborhood of church street, brigade road, and mg road.
Vinoth K — Google review
This metro station is essential if you’re heading to Church Street or Brigade Road. While you can drive, you’ll likely spend a lot of time in traffic and even more time finding parking. The station is large and equipped with all the necessary facilities, including ATMs and washrooms. The staff keeps the station neat and clean. However, it could benefit from some decoration, such as art or graffiti, just like they did in Cubbon Park, especially since it attracts many tourists. There are a few food outlets on the ground floor inside the station, which is great. Installing some vending machines would also be a welcome addition.

The Bangalore Metro, also known as Namma Metro, has transformed the city’s public transport landscape since its launch, offering a fast, efficient, and reliable alternative to the notorious traffic jams that plague Bangalore. One of the most popular and iconic stations in this network is the MG Road Metro Station. The washrooms are also well-maintained, which is a rare sight in many public places in Indian cities. The station is equipped with a range of facilities aimed at enhancing commuter comfort. These include well-placed seating areas, clear route maps, information boards, and ample lighting. The ticketing system, both at the kiosks and through automated machines, is smooth and efficient, helping to avoid long queues. For tech-savvy commuters, the smart card system offers the convenience of contactless travel, making the process even quicker. Security and Safety Security is a top priority at the MG Road Metro Station. There is a visible presence of security personnel, and all passengers are subjected to routine bag checks and screenings before entering the platform areas. The station is equipped with CCTV cameras, and announcements are regularly made reminding passengers about safety protocols, adding to the sense of security. The station also adheres to accessibility standards, with ramps and elevators ensuring that it is friendly for people with disabilities. Nearby Attractions and Connectivity One of the best aspects of the MG Road Metro Station is its proximity to several of Bangalore’s most popular spots. From high-end shopping outlets to local bazaars, it’s easy to spend an entire day exploring the nearby areas. Brigade Road, one of Bangalore’s most vibrant streets, is just a short walk from the station, offering an array of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Additionally, MG Road Metro Station offers excellent connectivity to other parts of the city. The Purple Line, on which the station sits, runs from Baiyappanahalli in the east to Kengeri in the west, passing through key areas like Indiranagar, Vidhana Soudha, and Majestic (Kempegowda Station). Garden
Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bangalore is a historic and expansive garden that originated as a private royal garden spanning 40 acres. Initially designed in Mughal style, it was further developed by Tipu Sultan and later expanded by British and Indian horticulturists. The garden is renowned for its support of agriculture, conservation of plant species, and contribution to the advancement of cultivation.
Very nice Lalbagh is an absolute must-visit if you are in Bengaluru. It truly lives up to its name as the 'Lungs of the City.' The variety of trees and plants is staggering, and the layout is perfect for a long, relaxing walk. Highlights: The Glass House: It’s stunning architecture and makes for great photos. The Lake: Very peaceful to sit by, and I spotted quite a few birds. Cleanliness: The park is well-maintained despite being so popular. I recommend going early in the morning to beat the heat and the crowds. It’s a fantastic spot for photography or just disconnecting from the city traffic. Highly recommended!
Aman K — Google review
A Calming Green Oasis in Bengaluru Lalbagh Botanical Garden offers a decent escape from the city hustle. I had an "OK" experience, largely thanks to the wonderfully calm and fresh environment. If you're looking for a spot with natural bird sounds to truly cool down and relax your mind, this place is highly recommended. It's a true "lung space" for Bengaluru. A major plus was the e-cycle ride, which is a fantastic way to cover the vast garden expanse. The rental seemed to have a flexible pricing, as I saw options for a short ride. I did a ride. We also caught the artificial waterfall near the lake, which operates on a fixed schedule. We saw it running from 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM. It adds a nice, serene touch to the lake area when it's on. My one major feeling was a slight lack of a "zoo" or large animal presence (apart from birds), which I missed—it felt more like a purely botanical experience rather than a nature park with diverse wildlife. However, for a botanical garden, all the basic amenities and facilities are well-maintained. Conclusion ; If you are in Bengaluru, it's definitely worth a visit for a peaceful, nature-filled break and a lovely walk or cycle ride.

Recently visited here — it’s a beautiful and refreshing place to connect with nature. The garden is huge, and it’s quite hard to cover the entire area within an hour. You’ll find ancient, massive trees and a wide variety of plant species, making it a paradise for nature lovers. The garden is well-maintained, with benches for sitting, trash bins placed throughout, and washroom and drinking water facilities available inside. There are also food stalls, a fountain area, and a poly house that add to the experience. The entry fee is ₹50 for adults and ₹20 for children. Plastic bottles are not allowed, which helps keep the place clean. I also visited the nursery, though it was closed due to a festive occasion. It’s a great spot for families, couples, or anyone looking for peace amidst greenery. The calm atmosphere and natural beauty truly make you feel one with nature. 🌿🌸

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is truly a beautiful and serene oasis in the heart of Bangalore. It's a perfect place for nature lovers and photographers, with a stunning variety of plants and a peaceful lake to relax by. The beautiful wooden art scattered around adds a unique charm, blending art with nature effortlessly. Don’t miss the Bonsai Garden, which showcases a fascinating collection of miniature trees that captivate visitors with their delicate beauty. Overall, Lalbagh is one of the best places to visit for a refreshing and inspiring experience.

An Absolute Oasis of Tranquility and Beauty! Lalbagh Botanical Garden is more than just a garden; it's the green heart of Bangalore and a true breath of fresh air amidst the city's hustle. This is easily one of the most stunning botanical experiences I've ever had, deserving every one of its five stars. The sheer scale and diversity of the flora are breathtaking. You could spend hours wandering the perfectly manicured lawns and discovering exotic plant species. The iconic Glass House is a magnificent architectural marvel, especially when bathed in sunlight, and the massive Lalbagh Rock offers a fantastic view and a quiet spot for reflection. The maintenance is impeccable—everything is clean, well-labeled, and thoughtfully arranged. Whether you're a serious botanist, a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful escape, Lalbagh caters to all. It’s a perfect spot for morning walks, family picnics, or simply relaxing under the shade of ancient trees. Don't miss the flower shows if you time your visit right! Highly, highly recommended.
Dhruv D — Google review
Lalbagh Botanical Garden is one of those rare places in Bangalore where time slows down and the city noise fades into the background. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by lush greenery, towering trees, and beautifully maintained pathways that make every step feel refreshing. The star attraction, of course, is the iconic Glass House, which looks stunning whether you visit in the quiet mornings or during the flower shows. The variety of plants—from vibrant flowers to rare species—adds so much charm, and you can easily spend hours exploring different corners without even realizing it. What I love most is the peaceful vibe. Whether you're going for a morning walk, photography, or just a break from daily routine, Lalbagh never disappoints. The lake inside the garden is another calming spot, perfect for sitting by the water and watching birds. It can get slightly crowded on weekends, but the garden is big enough to always find a quiet nook for yourself. The entry fee is minimal, and the overall experience feels priceless compared to the serenity you get. Overall, Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a must-visit—beautiful, calming, and truly refreshing. A little green paradise right in the heart of Bangalore.

It was a beautiful experience. The day was 🌞 I went with my family to explore the beauty of this huge botanical garden that has flora species dating back to hundreds of years ago. Enchanting. ❤️😇 We took the ride for 45 mins which is charged ₹100 per person. The guide thoroughly took us to different locations of the botanical garden taking small stops at specific points. Overall it was a nice experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the place. Recommended to family and friends. ✨

One of the prettiest garden I have ever visited. So beautiful, peaceful and huge. Our first option was Cubbon Park due to its ratings but when I visited this instead, I was glad. It's really beautiful! The way everything is maintained there is very pleasant. The whole area around this park is so cool due to the trees in the garden. Very less pollution and lot of things to do😍

Shri Dakshina Kashi Vishwanatha Swamy Temple (Antaragange)

Hindu temple
Nature & Parks
Freshwater pool fed by an underground river network and found within a Hindu temple complex.
My visit to Shri Dakshina Kashi Vishwanatha Swamy Temple (Antaragange) was a memorable experience, with refreshing water features, a scenic ascent via steps lined with local food shops. The temple’s sacred pond, continuously fed by an underground spring emerging from a stone bull’s mouth, adds to its unique charm. Visitors can also explore the nearby caves and enjoy trekking opportunities, making it a perfect blend of spiritual and adventurous experiences. However, it’s advisable to be cautious of the numerous monkeys in the area and to secure belongings accordingly. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot for those seeking peace and natural beauty.❤️🧡
Goutham V — Google review
Visited the temple recently, the trek is a completely different part. The temple is uphill from the parking space, you have to climb steps to reach the temple. There are a lot of monkeys on the way eho take away stuff from your hand so be careful. The temple is serene and very peaceful the water from the nandi keeps flowing at a decent rate. It is a forest area and if you want to do the trek to antharagange hill you need to have prior online booking for the same. But yes can definitely just visit the temple spend time and enjoy, as that is accessible to everyone. Definitely worth visiting!

Had a wonderful experience here. The temple feels old and has great history. The trekking is easy to moderate. Views are good, you can shout from the top and hear your voice echo. It is good to take the guides to the caves, which are also splendid. It is advised not to go in monsoon. Overall this place is nice for a weekend adventure.

This is situated in Kolar, there are no entry fees for temple visit but if you wanted to do trekking then advance online booking you have to do. There is paid parking - For 2 Wheelers 20/- and for 4 wheelers 50/- (there is no time limit for parking and no additional charges). There are Steps while entering the temple and this is on top of the hill. "Be careful of Monkeys". They can snatch your bags or belongings. Monkeys are all from parking till the top of the hill. They will snatch your Prasadam outside of the temple darshana. You can feed some fruits or biscuits to monkeys but you must have a stick with you to protect your belongings from Monkeys. There are 2-3 street food stalls near parking. There is water falling all the time in the temple if you want to take that water to your home you have to carry your own empty bottles. Locals are taking that water. Shoes Stand is there on a hill a few steps before entering the temple. Not at all maintained.

Lord Shiva Temple and Antaragange cave trekking located in a same place. If people want to go for cave trekking they have to book the ticket in advance. Cost of 1 adult tickets comes closer to 490rs(Inc. GST) & kid ticket cost around 290. Trekking won't be a difficult, there's a 2 caves located, each cave we have to crawl(funny and amazing experience), small caves only hardly it'll take 30 minutes to complete the 2caves together. Best part is trekking will be a fun & adventures, if you're going as family & friends.

A place dedicated to Lord shiva with continuous flow of water from Nandi statue which is believed to originate from Kashi itself. Can have bath or carry that water in bottle with us. Monkeys are everywhere, so travel carefully. They will snatch anything from u. There are many stairs to reach the temple, may be more than 250. Stairs are comfortable to climb with resting places on either side. Temple place is peaceful, got darshana. Took us 45mins to complete our entire visit. Parking is available with 50rs charge for car. There is a gazebo and a government organised trekking zone for antargange caves in this place.

A beautiful place to visit and enjoy with children. The temple is at hill top and the path is having Nice views around. The temple deities Sri Viswanathar and Ammavaru are blessings to see and worshipped. Water is continuously pouring into the pond from hill top. Water falls can be enjoyed in rainy season. HAPPINESS IS FREE. This is a factual review of my experience. First, I was treated with utmost love and respect and kindness by almost every staff member I met here (especially the ones serving the food!). The grounds are pretty, there is a large building being built and the traffic is not *too* loud. I was told I could stay in the accommodations for free and try a course, so I went to speak at the reception (I was also interested in volunteering). I had to fill out several forms and when I was done, I was informed the "Happiness course" was $440 USD. In the USA, that is a lot of money. In India, you could feed a family for a year. It's just a touristy cult/scam that I wouldn't ever return to or recommend to anyone.

I visited Bannerghatta National Park about a month ago, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. The place has a nice mix of things to do — the zoo, the butterfly park, and of course, the safari. The safari was the highlight for me. We got surprisingly close views of lions, tigers, bears, and herbivores in spacious enclosures that actually feel pretty close to their natural habitat. It’s exciting without being rushed, and you really get good photo moments. The butterfly park is calm and colorful — a perfect little break after the safari. The zoo is quite large with a good variety of animals and birds, though a few enclosures could definitely use better maintenance. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this place for families, kids, or anyone who wants a quick nature-and-wildlife getaway near the city. Just reach early, carry water, and keep a little patience — it makes the whole experience so much better.

A Great Day Out, But With Key Areas for Improvement Bannerghatta Biological Park offers a genuinely wonderful experience for wildlife lovers, making it a fantastic destination for a day trip. The park is vast, and many of the naturalized habitats for the local species are impressive and well-maintained. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, contributing to an overall positive atmosphere. However, a couple of significant issues prevented me from rating this as a perfect five-star experience. Firstly, I was disappointed that some of the highly anticipated major animals, notably the Lion and the Orangutan, were either absent or could not be found in their areas during our visit. This was a notable letdown for key species that many visitors hope to see. More importantly, I observed certain welfare concerns that I hope the park management addresses. Several animals appeared to be kept alone or with a very limited number of mates, which seemed sparse given their social nature. In a few cases, the enclosures seemed smaller than ideal, and I witnessed some animals exhibiting repetitive, stereotypic behaviors (pacing back and forth). This gave the distinct impression that they might be bored, stressed, or depressed due to the lack of space or social stimulation. Ensuring that all animals have adequate companionship and spacious, enriching enclosures is crucial for a park of this stature. Despite these issues, the overall variety of species and the natural beauty of the environment are undeniable. If the park could improve its exhibit list consistency and significantly upgrade the size and social conditions of the enclosures I mentioned, it would easily earn five stars.

Last week, I visited the Biological Zoo with my family. It was a very exciting and memorable trip. We saw many animals like lions, tigers, elephants, deer, giraffes and colorful birds. The best part of our visit was the safari. It was really thrilling to see the wild animals moving freely in the open area. We saw lions and tigers very closely from the safari bus and it felt like a real jungle adventure. The zoo was clean and well maintained. The staff guided us properly and we enjoyed taking many photos and videos together. It was a fun and educational experience for the whole family. I would love to visit again, especially for the safari ride.

Bannerghatta Biological Park is a great place for a family day out. The zoo is well-maintained, with a good variety of animals like lions, tigers, elephants, and reptiles. The safari experience is the highlight — you get to see animals roaming freely in a natural habitat, which feels exciting and safe. Better to pre book tge tickets through online from their official page. Also suggest to visit morning first slot.Walkways are clean, and there are plenty of resting spots and food stalls. Weekends can be crowded, so visiting early morning is best. Overall, a wonderful and educational place for kids and adults.

It was amazing experience we went in the noon at 2:30pm for safari and it was so lively experience and kid will really enjoy this. The safari takes 45min and its amazing experience and the zoo inside there are many caged animals snakes as well. Well maintained and hygienic. Be aware there are mosquitoes be cautioned while takings kids mainly

+ very well maintained + Safari in pre winter monsoon season was too good. All animals were in good mood and curious. Would suggest safari better than the zoo. Of course zoo is a must for reptiles, birds and other herbivores. + Animals well fed and taken care of. Would suggest visiting as soon as they open in the morning. Animals move to the shade in the afternoon.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting this biological park you’ve probably never seen so many animals in one place. The Bannerghatta Biological Park trail is about 2.2 km and takes at least 3 hours to complete. After that spend around 45 minutes at the Butterfly Park. It’s absolutely worth it with family or friends. There’s also a safari option though I didn’t opt for it you can check other reviews for that.
Chetan A — Google review
I recently visited Bannerghatta National Park, and honestly, it felt a bit overhyped. From the photos and reviews, I expected a proper wildlife experience, but in reality, it was more like an average zoo with a bus ride added in. We booked the safari bus since jeeps weren’t available, and that was fine — but the safari itself was quite disappointing. The entire 20–30 minute ride had barely 4–5 types of animals — deer, elephants, leopards, lions, and a small bear. It didn’t feel like we were in a natural habitat at all. The zones were just large fenced areas with a few animals each. For example, you start with deer and elephants, then after passing a gate you reach the leopard zone, where maybe 3–4 leopards can be seen resting near shelters. Same goes for lions and bears. It honestly felt like a zoo with a bus tour instead of walking. After the safari, we went to the zoo area, which was okay but again nothing great. There were only one or two animals of each species — a single giraffe, one tiger, one lion, etc. Variety was there, but it didn’t feel lively or well-maintained. The butterfly park was the best part of the entire visit. The entry fee was ₹50 per person, and it was worth it. The dome area filled with butterflies and greenery looked beautiful and peaceful — definitely the highlight of the day. Overall, Bannerghatta National Park is good for a one-time visit or a short family outing near Bangalore, but if you’re expecting a real safari or wildlife experience, you’ll probably be disappointed.

Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta offers an exhilarating off-road biking adventure for those seeking a thrill in nature. However, visitors should exercise caution while navigating the terrain. It's important to note that access is restricted on Saturdays, and forest officials may require a fee for entry. While the temple adds to the charm of this stunning location, it remains closed during visits. Unfortunately, due to elephant activity in the area, public access has become limited recently.
This is an off-road biking experience... Be careful while you drive .... Saturday are closed and forest officer will ask money to leave u inside. ... It's a good experience... Temple will be closed... If u want a biking experience then visit this place

I visited on 12th Jan 2025(Sunday) and reached 2nd Checkpost at 4:25 pm, based on Google Maps Timing, it will close at 5 pm. Then forest officer clarified, arrival closes at 4 pm only, return closes at 5pm. The next weekend - Jan 18 - Saturday I visited the same place again, but again got stopped at the same place - Forest Outpost, just 4 kms from the summit. The place is permanently closed for visitors, citing an elephant attack on tourists, except few exemptions such as local fairs associated to the temple on the summit. 12th Jan was 1 such day, where there was some ritual associated with the Temple at the summit. The forest guard could not say, when the summit will be again opened for common tourists.

Great experience to visit here in Krishnagiri Tamil Nadu and I love here it is peaceful place, Temp is great place and also lots of helpful people I feel relieved and relaxed here as it so soothing and sitting in temple and mediation is great.

We have visited here recently. Even though we've visited other Jain temples hundreds of times before, the first time in our life one temple authority blocked us because we were wearing Black-jackets and Black-Tshirts. We were unaware of this No-Black rule. So we removed black colored clothes and entered the place. There are plenty of parking areas for the vehicles Once we walked and reached the temple, we could see the beautiful jain temple. Along with marbles, they also beautifully used plenty of glass decorations. While we visited many of the areas were still under construction in the outdoors. Also many flex-boards were fixed just in front of the temple, so those flex boards were ruining the beauty of the temple.
Nithin M — Google review
A beautiful temple for jains and Hindus. Huge number of small temples of Durga/Shakthi maata inside the temple building. Beautiful glass interiors. Feels great to sit and meditate. The dhoop sticks and other puja items for sale are too God. The most impressive attraction during mu visit was the lotus 🪷 pond. At least five colos of full-blown flowers are joy to eyes. The pond is small but plenty of lotus makes the ouertside special. There is a small garden is there , but closed most of time. The entire premise is getting a lot of additional constructions. I am very sure the temple will be eve more attractive in coming days and months. Jai maa Durga.🙏🙏🙏

I have visited this temple with my family and we really had a great time being there. Location is great as it’s just around 1 km from Chennai highway but quite a big temple. It’s not complete done yet in terms of its construction but you can still visit to spend time spiritual time with family. 1. Good parking space for cars 2. Avoid wearing any black clothes or carrying any black items as they are not allowed even belts 3. Road is in great condition

Newly built jain temple that houses lordess padvati idol. Well connected and situated off Chennai Bangalore Highway near Krishnagiri. Avoid wearing black dress. Recommended stop over.

Good temple as far as cleanliness is considered. Very nice idols and also free lunch for all the devotees. Please keep in mind nothing of black color is allowed in the temple (not even watch strap) and also women have to go in decent clothing suit, saree etc. no frock dress etc allowed. The only concern I have is the name as it has nothing to do with real shaktipeeth.

Surreal, Serene and Self realisation moments. The temple land itself is spread across acres and houses a number of temples. The main deities are Parshwanath bhagwan and Padmavathi devi. There are various other temples. There is a gaushala also and bhojanshala. When inside the temple the eyes of Parshwanth bhagwan attracts you to a point where you completely merge into them and become closer with self!!

Visitors can enjoy sweeping panoramas of the surrounding hills and forests from this hill station temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Accessible from Salem via Yercaud, the temple provides breathtaking views of the valley, making it an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts.
Highest point of Yercaud . Temple is located at the top of 3 km climb hill . Roads neatly paved . Best view from top of the hill . Best place for sunrise and sunset . Ample amount of car and bike parking. Highly recommend place

Shevaroyan Temple is one of the must-visit spots in Yercaud, not just for its spiritual significance, but mainly for the stunning views it offers. Located at the highest point in Yercaud, this place gives you a panoramic view of the surrounding hills, valleys, and dense forests. The best time to visit is during the evening—especially around sunset. As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, the sky turns into a canvas of golden, orange, and pink hues. The cool mountain breeze, peaceful atmosphere, and the expansive view make it a magical experience. It's one of those rare places where nature truly takes center stage. There is a parking area available, though they do collect parking charges. The area is quite spacious, which is a plus. That said, it's a bit surprising to see parking fees being collected at a natural and spiritual site like this. Overall, if you're in Yercaud, don't miss Shevaroyan Temple—come for the temple, stay for the views, and leave with a sense of calm and awe.

What a peaceful escape! This temple sits beautifully atop a hill with stunning views all around. The atmosphere is incredibly calming - fresh air, tranquil surroundings, and a genuinely devotional vibe that refreshes your spirit. Perfect destination for both family outings and trips with friends. - Parking: Vast space available, very convenient - Entry: ₹10 for car (very reasonable) - Safety: Well-maintained and secure premises The area around the temple has numerous vadai and bajji shops - great for a quick snack after darshan! Highly recommended for anyone seeking spiritual peace with scenic beauty. The hilltop location adds to the divine experience.

I like to walk on this vast expanse of flat ground. It's so breezy. The sunset was great This is turning out to be the go-to place for open drinking as evidenced by the numerous alcohol bottles and plastic cups strewn around. Dicky- bars are the in thing and it is not safe anymore to go out with women and children. Will the Yercaud Municipality think of cleaning up the place. Even the dustbin provided are overflowing. Will the Police atleast prevent public drinking in open spaces

This temple is located atop a serene hill, offering a peaceful and silent atmosphere. It is best to visit on non peak days or avoid public holidays to truly enjoy the tranquility. Early mornings and evenings are ideal to experience cool breeze. This temple is dedicated to vishnu (perumal) and one unique aspect is the cave where devotees bend down and offer their prayers. Overall it is a beautiful and spiritually uplifting place to visit.

It's a pleasant experience visiting this temple on every trip to Yercaud. I usually visit on my last day while returning. You can get nice clicks on the view point to which you can drive up to. If you are with family, no need to walk all the way. Sadly our beloved fellow Indians throw all kinds of garbage in that place from plastics to glass bottles. Something to be cautious about if you are with kids. The temple experience is pleasant and if you are tall at 6ft like me you have to crouch a bit to get in the cave. Nevertheless, it's a great place to visit.

Kiliyur Falls is a 91-meter waterfall in Yercaud, accessible via a steep forested hiking path. During the peak flow after the monsoon season, it's recommended to visit early and plan for about 2 hours to explore. The trek involves descending approximately 500 steps, so it may not be suitable for everyone. There are parking facilities available, and visitors should keep an eye on children due to the natural terrain.
had a great time in the falls with family and kids enjoyed. dont miss this place going to yercaud. it is around 4 km from yercaud lake , you can go by auto or own vehicle, parking space is small where it will be difficult during season time. and have to walk for around 250steps down to see the falls

Ok to reach the fall, you have to go down along the mountain side. The down and up walk is not for everyone, specially if you have senior people or people with breathing issues. When we reached the bottom to the waterfall, half of us were having trembling legs. The waterfall in itself is pretty but it was very crowded..maybe due to it being Sunday.
Dhirendra K — Google review
Please read the review completely before visiting this place. Its definitely a must visit falls in Yercaud but with caveats. You will need to go down 250 steps (yes, we counted) to reach the falls. The fun part is we thought the ascent might be the problem but we, both in our early 30s, started having shaky legs just after going down around 200 steps. Thankfully there is a shop by a lovely lady there and she has glucose drinks and snacks etc. We got two drinks and thats when we got a little stable. So if you are travelling, please have some glucose drinks, juices, sweets, water, towel, slippers etc handy. Please ensure you dont dispose any waste plastics or other items. Lets be mindful of the environment. There are also monkeys there so if you are having eatables, be very careful. Please also check if there is water in the falls in advance, depending on what time of the year you visit. If you are travelling with elders, please consider the the travel down and then up very carefully. People with knee pain etc might find it very difficult. The route is also a little narrow. Once you reach the falls, all that hard work is worth it. There were people standing right under the falls and some who were sitting on the sides. Its a bit slippery and hence need to be really careful. As is all waterfalls, if you are traveling during rainy seasons, be very careful of sudden water flows. There is ample parking available and its paid. They charge around 50. Wouldnt say it very well maintained but still works. There might also be some paid services that take you to the bottom of the falls in a jeep. Please check if you would want to explore that as well

Such a splendid waterfall hidden deep in the woods of Yercaud! The place is completely calm and peaceful. You can take a walk from the lake to the falls if you enjoy strolling. The experience was truly extraordinary. It wasn’t very crowded. The best time to visit is early in the morning. We went around 6 a.m., took a bath in the falls, and came back. No entry tickets are required; charges apply only for vehicles.

This waterfall is located in a deep forest and a good downhill trekking is required to reach the fall. The steps are big and uneven at places. There's also an option to take the jeep ride to and fro which in itself is a solid thrilling off-roading experience at just Rs. 100 per person. The waterfall was just average.

View and Ambience: The waterfall offers a decent and refreshing view, surrounded by greenery and a peaceful natural vibe. It’s a nice spot to relax for a while and take photos. Accessibility: Reaching the falls is relatively easy, but the return journey can be quite challenging. The climb back involves a steep set of steps that require good stamina and physical fitness. Suitability: Not recommended for elderly visitors or those with heart conditions, as the steep ascent can be physically demanding. Overall Experience: A decent nature spot with a decent view, best suited for those who enjoy a bit of adventure and don’t mind a tough climb on the way back. Happy exploration! Defenetly not a choice if you are looking for more games, they have only very less games but more down in their website. The guy sitting in the reception billing section dint have patience to explain , he hardly responds.. The property is good, but only zip line game is kind of ok. Each game is being charged from Rs.400 to Rs.500

Aspusious day during No moon day, full moon day and Fridays. Morning 7am may be less rush. Tamil people know marugu. Prayers to this god for marugu will be healed with proper belief. Positive vibe place to workship. Lord Vinayagar, murugar (in small hill), lord Shiva and goddess amman are in separate temples in this locations. Before worshipping lord Shiva, theertham from the well and after workshipping lord Shiva putting salt in the well.

Kalanginathar sithàr kovil very well maintained temple. Also called as amavasi kovil, he was the guru for Bogar peruman. Also there are 8 theerthams in and around the temple you can take a bath in those wells to remove your sins. And above the mountain guru of all the Sithar is situated Muruga peruman sannidhi don't miss to have the darshanam of Guru Murugan. Very calm and peaceful location. Kancha malai : kalanginathar siddhar temple at the food hills of kancha malai. One of the finest temple surrounded with so many natural wells. Very calm place surrounded by hills and a nice peaceful temple for salem locals. Could not visit the hill top where kalanginatha siddhar did meditation. Kalanginatha siddhar student of Thirumoolar came to kanchamalai in search of some herbal along with his guru Thirumoolar. Thirumoolar asked his disciple to cook food and gone for bath. While cooking rice, he could not find any utensil to mix and hence broke the branch of nearby tree and mixed the rice. After some time the rice becomes black and fearing his guru he ate all the cooked food. He become very young and when his guru Thirumoolar enquired about his disciple he narrated the incident. Thirumoolar immediately understood the branch of the tree is Kaya kalpa and with that a person can live young for years. It is believed even now that this hill has several herbs and the locals take bath in the natural wells on the belief that it has curative powers.

1008 Shiva & Rajarajeshwari Temple Salem

The 1008 Shiva Temple in Salem is a Hindu temple complex dedicated to Shiva, featuring an array of 1008 identical Nandi statues carved from stone. The main highway runs close by, but the temple can only be reached at the top of the hill. In addition to the impressive lingas and nandis, there are also other allied group temples such as Perumal Temple.
Nestled in the serene surroundings of Ariyanoor, near Salem, the 1008 Lingam Temple offers an ideal escape for those seeking peace, silence, and spiritual rejuvenation. Surrounded by lush greenery and well-maintained natural beauty, this sacred site invites visitors into a tranquil journey of devotion and inner calm. The walk to the top of the mountain is both refreshing and reflective, with every curve of the pathway lined with Shiv Lingas and Nandi statues. Along the way, you’ll encounter various deities that enrich the spiritual atmosphere — from Lord Ganesha welcoming you at the entrance, to temples dedicated to Lord Rama, Jai Hanuman, Lord Shiva with Subramanyam, and the powerful Shakthi Devi. The entire trail is embraced by green plants and tall trees, adding to the sense of serenity. At the summit, a majestic 17-meter statue of Sri Umayambigai Sametha Sri Arunachala Sundareswara overlooks the hills, offering not just panoramic views but a deeply calming presence. The peaceful ambiance and sacred energy make this temple a perfect destination for those wishing to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with their inner self.

About the temple It’s a relatively modern temple (built around 2010) under the care of the Vinayaka Mission. It has 1008 Shiva lingams arranged such that 1007 surround a central lingam, with a statue of Nandi in front. On the hilltop, the main shrine houses Sri Umaiyambigai Samedha Sri Arunachala Sundareswara. The temple is located on Salem’s bypass road, in Ariyanoor, about 14 km from Salem city centre. Timings There is some variation in reported timings. Here are the credible ones: According to Salem district’s official temple list: 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tamil Nadu Tourism brochure also lists the same timings: 7:30 am–12:30 pm & 4:00 pm–8:00 pm Some sources say it opens from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (for general viewing) One devotional blog suggests 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm From TripAdvisor Q&A: for main deity pooja, best between 9:00 am–11:00 am and 5:00 pm–8:00 pm Given these, the official timings (7:30 am–12:30 pm, 4:00 pm–8:00 pm) seem most reliable. Best time to visit Morning (soon after opening) is ideal: cooler, quieter, less crowded. Evening is also pleasant, especially during dusk, when the light and surroundings are serene. The winter months (November to February) are often recommended as the best time to visit (milder weather) Avoid midday in hot months, as heat and direct sun may make the walk up less comfortable

A Serene and Divine Discovery in Salem !! I truly regret having missed this divine place during my previous travels through Salem. This is a serene and peaceful location, nestled amidst nature and adorned with numerous Shiva Lingas, offering a truly calming and spiritually enriching experience. The temple provides convenient car parking with two options. You can either park at the bottom and enjoy a peaceful walk up the small hill, or take the Vinayaka Missions entrance to drive directly to the top. I highly recommend starting from the bottom, parking your vehicle, and beginning your ascent from the Vinayagar shrine. This place is a beautiful confluence of faiths, featuring shrines for all in one location. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and divine, filling you with a sense of tranquility and good vibes. When you're traveling through Salem, I urge you to take the time to visit this spot. You will be pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking views and the powerful, positive energy of the place.

A serene spiritual experience perched on a hill, this temple features an enchanting walkway lined with 1008 Shiva lingams and Nandi statues. The complex is clean, well-maintained, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding greenery. The ascent is pleasant whether you walk or drive, and the inner sanctum has a powerful aura. Some visitors note minor upkeep issues, but overall it’s a must-visit for those seeking peace and devotion.

Peaceful, unique, and beautifully laid out. Walking the pathway past row after row of Shiva lingams with a majestic central sanctum feels meditative—even on a busy day. The campus is clean, signage is clear, and darshan usually moves smoothly. Families and seniors will appreciate the benches and shaded stretches; kids get excited spotting the numbered lingams. What I liked: calm priests, tidy prakarams, and the satisfying “parikrama” loop where you can complete a quiet round of prayer without jostle. Plenty of photo-worthy angles in the open courtyard (avoid the sanctum for photos). Good to know: mornings and late evenings are cooler; afternoons can be hot in the open areas—carry water. Parking is straightforward near the entrance. Dress modestly, and keep small change/UPI handy for archana/prasadam. Tip: do one slow clockwise round touching each pillar/lingam cluster with your right hand—it turns the visit into a mindful walk. Secret tip: after the main darshan, stand a few minutes at the far end of the courtyard and look back toward the central shrine—the symmetry of the 1008 lingams lining up to the sanctum is the most serene frame of the temple. 🙏

1008 Lingam Temple near Salem is a must-visit when traveling from Chennai to Coimbatore or Ooty. It’s a really big temple — walking inside itself takes more than 30 minutes. The unique part is that it’s a drive-in temple, you can take your vehicle inside and go around for darshan. Very peaceful, clean, and well maintained with a beautiful hill view.”

1008 Shiva Linga & Rajarajeshwari temple is a deeply spiritual and serene temple located on a tranquil hillside in Ariyanur near Salem Tamilnadu. The main attraction is the truly unique collection of 1008 Shiva lingams. Each lingam is accompanied by its own Nandi, creating a visually stunning spectacle. The location is also accessible via public transport from Salem's New Bus Stand it takes around 20 minutes to reach on a very reasonable fare of just 11 INR one way.
