Visited Ettamanoor Shiva Temple after visiting Vaikom temple & Major Mahadev Temple Brahmamangalam. We reached after 10:30, so there was wait for the abhishekam. Not too crowded but yes there was enough crowd. There's huge parking but open not shaded. But it's free. There are small stalls to get some assescories and gift items and Statue. There's a refreshment stall too There's washroom available.

We just made it in time for the Kathakali show here, and I’m so glad we didn’t miss it. The makeup starts at 4:30 PM, and they do it right on stage so the audience can see the whole transformation — honestly, that itself felt like part of the show. The theatre is calm and welcoming, with devotional music and even a nice fragrance around, which made the experience feel special. Before the main performance, they explained the grammar of Kathakali — the expressions, eye movements, and hand gestures — and it was absolutely fascinating. The actual play started at 6 PM, and I was blown away — the makeup, the live instruments, the narration-singing, everything came together beautifully. You can really feel the love for culture in every detail. They also have a small shop at the back with souvenirs like oils, magnets, and antiques. Overall, it’s one of those experiences that stays with you — I’d definitely watch it again.

Fantastic experience at the Kathakali Centre. The staff are caring and committed to preserving the deep artistic heritage of Kerala, showcasing the various traditional artisans with respect and love. You see a small glimpse of performances, guaranteed to inspire you to seek out the full day long performances in the future. We watched an hour long Kathakali show, and a short demonstation of Kalari as well, both were fascinating in their own ways. I wish the centre a lot of success!! After 6 month wait, finally we could make it last week. We witnessed the Kathakali performance (including makeup) and Kalaripayatu(martial arts). Excellent performance by the artists in both shows. Good seating arrangements, light and sound. Ease of contacting and booking, courteous hosting and punctuality. Please make it day wise schedule because we wanted to watch classical dance as well but it was on a different day.

Its a must watch experience!!!! If you go early you can get a good spot near the stage where the artist do an interactive performance! All their efforts are so worth every penny. Absolutely loved it💚

It is a Must visit place in Kochi. A unique and good experience along the side of the coast. The fisherman will do a lot of fishing on the sea shore. The mechanism is quite simple yet thoughtful. A few places give a demonstration about how it's done, we got a chance to see the entire mechanism because we had joined a bigger group. Lots of variety of fishes are available of various sizes. You can also purchase along the side and get it cooked in your stay if they allow.

Great place for viewing Arabian sea. You can watch the ships entering and leaving channel. Lot of food joints in around the Bay. Fresh seafood restaurants are there

If you are looking for a sunset backed pic of the Chinese fishing nets, try to reach before 6pm (check local timing for sunset). We unfortunately reached just after sunset but luckily still got some okay pics. There are many shops where you can check out fresh catch and ask for it to be prepared right in front of you. I am sure it will be pricey but should be okay for a one time experience. There is a sunset view point a little ahead of the Chinese fishing nets which you should visit. The ferry is awesome from Marine Drive (High Court Junction) which costs just 40 bucks. AC ferry which is very well maintained

ARCHITECTURE The temple consists of sanctum sanctorum, ardha mandapam, Namaskara mandapam, Nalammbalam, thiruchuttambalam. Sanctum sanctorum is square in plan on a pada bandha adhistanam. The temple was constructed with stone from adhistanam to parastaram. A two tier nagara/ pyramidal Kerala style vimanam is on the sanctum sanctorum. The namaskara mandapam is with an elevated level platform and pyramidal vimanam. HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS It is believed the original temple belongs to 10th century CE, constructed during Chera period. Since the temple was built with wood, the temple underwent many renovations. The temple received contributions from, Cheras, Pandyas, Venadu, Travancore Kings, etc. KIZHUKKAVU TEMPLE On the eastern side of the temple pond stands the Kizhukkavu temple.The temple faces west (faces Chottanikara Bhagavathi temple). It is believed that the presiding deity was installed by Vilwamangalam Swamiyar. After the Athazha pooja (main pooja in the evening), the chief priest of the principal deity comes to Kizhukkavu to perform the famous and great pooja "ValiyaGuruthy" (great Sacrifice). The Guruthy is prepared in 12 cauldrons (huge vessel) and is performed at about 8.45 p.m every night. Those who witness the guruthy performance, which itself is awe inspiring and prolonged ceremony, finds it an experience which is indescribable. Being present here during Valiya guruthy on Fridays permanently cures women suffering from mental abnormalities like schizophrenia. An ancient 'Pala' tree standing on the northeastern side of the sanctum sanctorum is covered with long iron nails hammered on by haunted victims with their foreheads.

One among the finest beaches nearby Kochi (Cochin). The sandy beach and great sunset views would give you memorable moments. There are foods and souvenirs available here but there is a good scope for improvement.

Beautiful beach with clean sand. Only fun n frolic could be seen around with youngsters and accompanying parents. Lovely hotels and good food though Kerala fish "Karimeen" was not easily available.

"Clean, Calm, and Perfect for a Relaxing Getaway!" Cherai Beach is one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches near Kochi. With golden sands, gentle waves, and a clean shoreline, it's perfect for a relaxing day out.

What didn’t work well: Parking charged at around ₹30/hour without designated slots or secure fencing. I had to park in mud and struggled to exit—a guard set the fee, but no proper system or shelter. The beach area is tight and congested, especially during evenings. Space to walk, sit, or play is limited. The shoreline has noticeably narrowed—sea erosion seems to have taken over the sand, reducing usable area. Waste and debris are common, especially after high tides. There’s no visible cleaning schedule or waste management system. Few signboards or markers to guide visitors on safe zones, entry points, or amenities. Numerous resorts and restaurants line the edge, but prices are high, making the experience feel more commercial than relaxing. Safety feels uneven—lifeguards are present only at the main beach, leaving parts of the shore less monitored. The narrow access roads are often crowded or uneven, making approach and exit difficult. Positive aspects to highlight: The location is scenic—where backwaters meet the sea; gentle tides often make it suitable for dolphin spotting. Early mornings and off-peak hours offer calm, peaceful views and a quieter stretch to enjoy. A few local vendors sell light bites such as fried banana or chilli—simple and tasty. Suggestions for improvement: Create organized, secure parking with shade or paved surfaces—and consider validating or waiving fees for visitors. Increase frequency of beach cleaning crews and establish designated waste bins to manage both tidal and on-site debris. Install clear signage and maps to guide visitors to access points, seating areas, restrooms, safety zones, and lifeguard-watched areas. Expand the beach footprint or undertake erosion control measures to restore walking and leisure space. Offer affordable lounge spaces or shaded seating for families and groups, separate from high-cost resorts. Consider extending lifeguard coverage to broader areas or offering beach safety warnings during peak hours. Overall recommendation: Cherai Beach has charm and potential, especially for early-morning strolls or a quick getaway. However, the current experience is hampered by parking hassles, limited space, unclear safety measures, and inadequate cleanliness. With basic infrastructure upgrades and better visitor guidance, it could become a much more welcoming destination. od experience.

A beautiful spot worth visiting over a weekend, own vehicles are allowed only up to the base parking spot, from there dedicated jeeps take tourists to the top. It's a serene hill top with a near steep trek to the top. There are no proper steps for some distance and that's what makes it worth the visit. The trek will prove you tough for differently abled and senior citizens. But there are plenty of other spots for everyone to explore. The entire location is filled with scenic views, all around. It's worth enjoying with family and friends. Even the approach roads are awesome.

Illikkal Kallu View Point offers an amazing panoramic view of the hills and clouds making it truly unforgettable. The cool breeze and dramatic cliffs create a great experience for anyone who loves nature and adventure. A must-visit spot for stunning scenery

We visited it during a Sunday. The view point is somewhat up in a hill where you can either take a jeep or walk. It was a bit crowded. The view was indescribable. Though we could only spot the kallu from the valley of the hill, climbing the hill and experiencing the mist and fog felt joyous. The picturesque walking up the hill seemed as if climbing the great wall of china with the new railings installed. There is an interlock pathway confined to the area where the hill meets the land just to ease the walking uphill. And there are some benches where you can sit and relax. However there are no steps or pathway uphill which might be risky for kids and adults. With the rain, the terrain turned muddy and slippery. Illikkal kallu deserves to be visited atleast once in a lifetime.

There is a jeep trip from the parking area to the start of the hill hike. Recommend to take that, walking would be a bit hard, especially if you are there around noon. Try to visit in the mrng or evng. Excessive amount of tourists visiting the hill has caused soil erosion. There was some construction works going on without any precautions.

Illikkal Kallu is easily one of my favorite hilltop escapes in Kerala. I visited recently, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The climb is not too hard, and I loved stopping along the way to take in the changing views as the mist rolled through. Reaching the top was unforgettable. Standing next to the massive rock formation, with clouds floating around me and a 360° view of endless hills and valleys, I felt completely at peace. Someone told me that on a clear day you can even spot the Arabian Sea in the distance. There are small tea shops at the base, and sipping a hot chai after the trek made the experience even better. The place is well maintained with parking and basic facilities, but it still feels wonderfully wild and natural. If you’re planning a visit, I’d recommend arriving early morning or late afternoon for the best light and fewer crowds. Wear comfy shoes and carry a light jacket—weather changes fast up there. Illikkal Kallu gave me one of those rare moments where you feel small in the best possible way. I can’t wait to go back with friends and soak in that view all over again.

Chavakad beach is, like any beach, fascinating giant waves, yes waving you to come near get drenched in the salty water enthusiastically calling you inviting you like a friendly host which very rarely you can resist.. The great grand sea continuously roaring with white hearted foam, the waves humbly bending the face like a young wife blushing.. You can't take it that way always.. at times gets ferocious and swallows whatever coming on its way. Anyway enjoy the sea from a distance safely sitting on the beach. Chavakad beach tells these to you when you go there. Don't miss it. 🙂🙂👍

The place is great with comparatively less number of people. The main problem here is some guys are suspicious and were always looking for our bag while we were in the sea. Security there is a lack. Otherwise Sun set view in there is magical

We visited Chavakkad Beach in the evening around 4 PM. The beach was very neat and clean, and we really enjoyed our time there. My daughter had a wonderful time playing in the sand and watching the waves. However, it is not safe to go deep into the sea, so we stayed near the shore and played carefully. There are small shops near the beach where you can buy snacks and drinks. We traveled from Guruvayoor to the beach by auto-rickshaw. The auto fare was ₹200 one way, so it cost us ₹400 for the round trip. Overall, it was a beautiful and refreshing experience at Chavakkad Beach.

Essential Visitor Information- Dress Code: Be aware of the strict dress code for men: they must remove their shirts and enter with their torsos bare above the waist. Worship Time: Due to the large number of devotees, your time in front of the main deity is very brief—you typically get only 30–45 seconds to see and pray to the divine lord. Closing Hours: The temple is extremely punctual with its closing schedule. It shuts down exactly at 11:30 AM on weekends/special days and 11:00 AM on normal weekdays. Plan your visit accordingly to ensure you don't miss the morning darshan. A Tip for Tourists Be mindful of the lottery sellers operating just outside the temple gates. Most famous temple in thrissur where thrissur pooram is celebrated. We visited there in the evening after 5pm (suggesting you the same). No dress code like traditional dress like mundu and saree in this temple. But men has to remove their shirts while visiting the main deity. After coming out we sat near the temple and watched sunset.

The scenes there was wonderful. There was so much crowd that time. We can buy the tickets and have to walk somtime to reach the top of the waterfalls. There are shops at the top. You can have tea or icecreams. Then on the right side there is a way to the view from the bottom of waterfalls. The way is somewhat adventurous. It will be difficult for people with joint issues. You have to walk down the road. The way to top is wheelchair accessible.

It's a short walk up from the roadhead - at the fork in the trail the left fork takes one to the top of the waterfall and the right fork leads one down a winding set stony steps and then a field of large rocks to the base of these wonderful waterfall. Well worth the detour to spend a couple of hours here!! There is a small fee one must pay to visit the falls. There is parking by the side of the road, but spotty cell signal.

The food, stay and the hospitality by the tribal people was awesome. The only place we had issues with the guide. Better to plan in Feb or March as you can see many animals due to summer. Kudos to the food preparation

Stay is very good. The wash rooms are kept neat and clean. Bedsheets and furnitures are cleanly maintained.

Excellent place. The rooms are neat and clean. In the morning, I saw a beautiful peacock sitting on the fence and saw a giant squirrel. This place is much more suitable for people visiting groups where you can get 6 rooms in the same place.

A guest house inside a deep forest maintained by kerela eco tourism. You can spot deers peacocks and sometimes elephants near this stay. The overall experience is amazing. But only drawback was even if drinking and smoking is banned here few tourist were drinking and smoking and created lot of chaos there. That ruined the place. Do not do that

A hidden gem within Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, this must-visit spot offers a serene stay surrounded by abundant deer and peacocks. One of the finest places to unwind in tranquility.

Very peaceful, beautiful and an important place in the film history perspective. Better to visit in monsoon or the winter season, else the scorching sun will not allow your sense of relaxation to exist. Tender coconut is a bit costly, wondered why the land of coconut has become like this. There are other places better than this nearby. Need atleast two days to completely experience this out.

Aliyar Dam is in Tamil Nadu but it is part of the Parambikkulam-Aliyar Project. The dam is a good tourist destination. You can spend some time on the dam viewing the deep blue water in the reservoir and the surrounding hills. It is an excellent spot for photos. Usually there are several tourists on the dam. If you go there in the evening you will love the dam and the surroundings in the fading light.

One of my favourite dams in Tamil Nadu is this one. ​I love this place for its serene and nature-bound atmosphere. The dam offers a fantastic view of Valparai and other mountains. ​Don't miss the stunning view from atop the dam. Be sure to walk the full length to witness more scenic views of the bridge, the flowing water, and the surrounding mountains. Aliyar Dam is a charming location surrounded by Annamali Hills with wonderful natural views. It is located between Pollachi and Valparai. The dam's location amidst the Western Ghats provides a stunning backdrop, and the surrounding hills and reservoir offer picturesque views. Mango orchid and coconut trees on the one side and hills and water on the other side. Absolute beauty. Entry fee is 5 ₹ person and 20₹ to carry mobile phones inside. Note they don’t accept UPI at the counter , so carry cash. Inside the premises they have various play stations - swings toy trains and many other kids play games - few of them are paid entry. You have to walk to the top of the damn via stairs - close to 100 steps .

Aliyar Dam, located a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Coimbatore city, is a scenic spot that’s perfect for tourists and nature enthusiasts. The combination of the serene dam waters, lush greenery, and towering mountains creates a picturesque setting that’s ideal for relaxing and clicking beautiful photos. The entry fee is quite affordable, just ₹5 per person for access to the garden attached to the dam. If you plan to take pictures using your mobile, there’s an additional ₹20 photography fee. The garden is well-maintained with smaller fountains adding to its charm. After exploring the garden, you can climb the stairs to get closer to the dam. One side of the dam is bordered by the scenic garden, while the other side is flanked by magnificent mountains, making it an incredible sight. Outside the garden, you’ll find some small vendors selling fruits and snacks, although they tend to charge slightly more as it’s a tourist area. However, during my visit, I didn’t see any vendors inside the garden itself. There are also a few shops near the entrance where you can grab some food. For families with children, the kids’ play area inside the garden is a thoughtful addition. If visiting during the daytime, especially in hot weather, it’s advisable to carry water bottles and a cap to stay comfortable. The best time to visit is in the evening when the weather is cooler and the views are even more magical. Parking facilities are available outside the garden, making it convenient for those arriving in private vehicles.

Visited Palakkad Fort on a holiday and it was almost empty except for a few workers. The calm and peaceful atmosphere made it a relaxing stop. Don’t expect an overwhelming or grand experience, but it’s definitely worth visiting for its historical significance. A quiet place to walk around and soak in a bit of heritage.

We spotted elephants, gaurs, macaques and many birds—tigers and leopards stay hidden but wildlife sightings are still exciting. The main hub is Top Slip, great for jeep safaris (7 AM–10 AM & 3 PM–5 PM) or elephant rides (11 AM–2 PM) — permits needed, book early 🎟️. Park is open 6 AM–6 PM; check‑posts close at 4 PM—don’t miss the 6 PM Valparai cutoff ⚠️. Roads are steep and narrow, drive carefully 🚗. No shops inside—carry water, snacks, and a camera. The reserve is rich in biodiversity—800+ plant species, 250+ birds ﹨cite﹂turn0search6﹂turn0search1﹁. Best time to visit is October to May for pleasant weather and sightings. Very serene place. We went around noon so it was a little hot but it was not that warm. We saw monkeys, deer, peacocks etc. but if it was evening time we could see more of them. There is a canteen near the top slip and washrooms were also available. Through this we can reach the kerala border through Parambikulam Tiger reserve but the road is not recommended. Better coming back through Aanamalai tiger reserve is best.

Nice place to chill over the weekends. We can see elephants live feeding at the camp, other wild animals like bison, deer, bird varieties, monkeys(not the one's that we usually see), wild squirrels, wild elephants etc. Try to be here early as possible, maybe around 6.30 so that you can see wild animals inside the reserve.

Good jungle safari. Spotted elephants, deep down the woods. Morning first safari we could enjoy fresh nature breeze as well as elephant’s feeding. Evening sessions may also have them bathing 😆😜

The Adiyogi area of Isha Yoga centre is about a km from parking area. This is a very impressive giant sized statue on a large platform. There is a Shiv Linga in the forecourt area of this statue where visitors can offer Jal abhishek amidst continuous chanting. A good arrangement ! But the walk from parking to the adi Yogi arena can be a challenging one for senior citizens & children during mornings & summer times as it's a wide open area without any trees/shade. So beware of this aspect & go prepared with sunglasses, Caps etc.

Well, big land converted to a religious place having Lor Shiva's statue 🙏 but other than the statue, it is just a place where you can enjoy some food, have shower, and see bullock cart. Lastly a Dome, also called Dhyanlinga where you can sit and meditate. It can also be done at home for people who don't know. Try this, go back home and close your eyes, empty your mind and call upon whoever you worship. God is within you. They have SAVE SOIL slogan and they love animals. There is bullock cart in 50° degrees carrying passengers from one place to the other. I mean we have battery cars and golf cars but they love animals and want them to know that they are loved deeply. Lets make these poor animals carry 9 people at once under the 50° degree sun. Touche! Tradition can be supported with technology too, we don't need to harm animals this way. We could barely walk in the sun and these poor animals were carrying so many people. God forgive these people who are doing this to animals 🙏 BATH FACILITY - We had shower in the morning so we didn't go shower here. I mean it's not elixir otherwise we would have definitely. DHYANLINGA - the road (walk only) leads to dhyanlinga but when its nearly 50° degrees, it makes it difficult to walk barefoot on the UNEVEN and hot surface. They could have put Carpet on the foor covering uneven surface but i guess they were short of funds and also they wanted you to feel the culture. You are going to feel that culture the next day too when your feet hurts. There were old people walking slowly and some of them were pouring water on the floor to walk on that hot surface. It was 3PM and Carpet is a must for people who aren't used to walking on the uneven hot surface. Finally when you reach dhyanlinga, they will force you to sit inside dome and meditate. We recently had an accident and couldn't sit on floot so they forced us to sit on the chair. We didn't want to be rude so we sat for 2 minutes. There was a small baby crying very softly and these CARETAKERS asked the lady to get out pointing finger as if she made a huge mistake. If they can't respect humanity, what good will come of anything they practice in life. We saw that and immediately stood up. 2 of them tried blocking our way. Well, just to be clear, We bow to God only and there was no God here. We are not slaves they need to get this to their heads. We left instantly without responding to them. By the way, the best feeling was when we bought 3 packets of biscuits and made the dog eat. He was very happy and kept coming back to give his love. That was the only good feeling we got. We made sure the dog wasn't hungry anymore and then left back for the hotel. Canteens are everywhere so don't worry if you miss one. There are more on the way. Also phones were not allowed but we noticed some of them carrying it quietly with them. The deposit box is safe. They take your photo and phone number. So nothing to worry about.

Visited this temple during our coimbatore visit, this temple was suggested by Anandas hotel manager. The temple is located 12-15kms from coimbatore city. The Vinayagar idol is about 6ft tall and looks magnificent. The entire temple gives you a Devine feeling. There is a small garden and a marriage area inside the temple. Parking is available for 3 to 4 cars, there are shops to buy pooja items as well. this temple is located under the flyover and has continuous vehicle movement. This temple is special because many new bike or car buyers get their pooja done here. Many devotees also perform dristi removal ritual with coconut here. Nice place to add to your coimbatore list.

How to reach: • By car/taxi: It is about 12 km from Coimbatore city and takes roughly 30 minutes. (I was driving from Kerala via NH544 and NH968 to reach the temple) Note that the temple is located right by the roadside under a flyover, so parking can be challenging. • Public transport: Buses and taxis are available from Coimbatore, which is often more convenient due to traffic and limited parking.

Very nice place. Declared by the UNESCO as world heritage site. Coonoor steam loco shed has got the steam locomotives parked here and they have a diesel loco shed also. Steam locomotives hauls the nilgiri mountain train from Coonoor to Mettupalayam while the Diesel locomotives operates from Coonoor to Ooty. Must visit place. However the the staff at the ticket counter in Coonoor Railway Station are very rough and impolite.

Great place to view the historic steam locomotives not just standing but in action. Don't miss to visit the shed and repair place below.

This is the loveliest place in our Ooty visit.It is very huge .The maintenance is very good.The walking trails are there.There is a boat house and children play area.There are rest rooms. The trees and lushy green lawns are very pleasant to watch. My grand child enjoyed very much here.

High Field tea factory is a popular spot visited by tourists. It mainly contains 2 shops - one selling various types of tea like regular tea, ginger tea and chocolate tea, oils, spices etc and the other where chocolates are made. Besides these 2 areas, there was a factory containing heavy equipment for processing tea. It is an interesting and pleasant place to visit.

Must visit place if you touch coonoor. You can come by auto from coonoor railway station. Affordable price. I didn't see dedicated parking. So better come by auto. This park is just amazing! Many beautiful 100 years+ old trees will surprise you. There’s a small Lake which is also beautiful, have some children play area and has boating facility. The park has many many levels of steps to go down and cherish the beauty throughout the garden. Must Appreciate the horticulture team who is best in maintaining it. Best place for nature lovers who would like to see different types of trees which can be rarely seen only in botanical gardens. Also they have installed water vending machine & it feels satisfying to drink the water after the good long walk in the park.

Amazing view, awesome climate on September, enjoyed well. Clear view of Catherine Water Falls. Passing clouds and view of tea estate is very nice. Carry your own food. Snacks are too cost. Monkeys are at high. Take care your bags and things.

Awesome view, but super crowded on weekends. The weather here is always excellent. In the monsoons, you'll be able to see a decent number of waterfalls, unfortunately we visited in summer. Watch out for touts trying to sell you "parking tickets" as parking here is free. The entry charge is also minimal, buy tickets at the counter only.

The way towards dolphins nose is really awsum. You will enjoy the ride. You can sit here and have a tea or coffee. There are many shops nearby . The entry fee here is 20. There are many monkeys. I have seen people buying chocolates and then the monkeys snatch it from them.so be aware of that fact. The view sometimes can be full of clouds but its worth it to go here. There is a viewpoint from where you can capture great pictures.

Place is surrounded by good scenic beauty.. the drive to this place is full of tea gardens and lush green trees and plants. The road is narrow and parking space is very less, so may take lot of time during peak season to reach this destination.

Very beautiful scenic place. U can see a narrow water fall on other side of view point. Beware of monkeys they stole food. If you are going during public holidays or season try to reach early else parking is a problem. This point is at dead end of road.

In dolphin nose you don’t have much thing to do and see. But you will definitely enjoy the drive to this place. It’s going through forest, tea estate, water falls and many more. Roads are maintained well and not commercialised at all. So we can enjoy the real beauty of nature in a chilled weather. There’s 5 tourists points on the way. So stop everywhere and enjoy nature. Go to this place in the morning or in evening, have fun with family and friends.

If you reach the place early in the morning (around 8-10 am) you'll get to see mesmerizing view throughout your journey. There are very narrow lanes at some points. Be careful. The view from Dolphin Nose is amazing. You should plan your trip after June so that you can see the Catherine Falls in its total beauty.

During my recent journey to Namakkal, I had the privilege of visiting the awe-inspiring Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple, renowned for its 18-foot tall monolithic statue of Lord Hanuman—one of the tallest in South.

This temple is of a large sized boon giving Anjaneya in standing posture. Here Anjaneya with folded hands, is facing the sannidhi of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha across the road. Regular Pujas and Thirumanjanams are held to this deity by aspiring devotees - including betel leaves mala, sandal paste, white butter, vadamala etc. A must visit temple in Namakkal & a popular Parihara sthalam.

The priests were respectful, and the overall experience was very soulful compared to more commercialized temples. 🍲 Food Options Nearby: Around the temple, there are a few small village-side hotels/restaurants — more like simple sheds — where you can get lunch or basic meals. The food was okay, but don’t expect too much since it’s prepared in a simple village style. Still, it adds to the authentic rural experience. 🌄 Location: Surrounded by the hills and greenery, the temple has a refreshing climate. The approach roads are scenic, and the temple itself adds to the heritage vibe of Kolli Hills. ✅ Overall: A must-visit when you are in Kolli Hills. Easy access, well-managed parking, less crowded, with a spiritually uplifting experience.

The spiritual vibe you get from the place is really meaningful for your internal soul. It is located in kollimalai which you get the peacefulness as well.

I often come to this temple. Because Lord and Lordess appear in majestic forms. Anyone with simple spiritualistic values will get mesmerised by the mind blowing spectacular appearances of Almighty and Almighty Godess. That too to sing Annapoorneswari sthrom infront of Almighty Goddess is really a blessing acquired through a long birth-death cycle. Further Lord Muruga with his consorts is placed right opposite to Aram valartha Nayagi. The background is composed of Lord Vinayaka, Kasi Vishwanathar, Visalakshi, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswathi, Jyestadevi, Durgai, Kalabhairavar and Navagraha sannidhi, apart from Sun & Moon shrines. And then the famous rotating stones are there. To be visited atleast once in lifetime. Not to forget the darshan of SRI CHAKRAM in Ambal sannidhi. OM NAMAH SHIVAYA.

Secret tip: after the main darshan, stand a few minutes at the far end of the courtyard and look back toward the central shrine—the symmetry of the 1008 lingams lining up to the sanctum is the most serene frame of the temple. 🙏

1008 Lingam Temple near Salem is a must-visit when traveling from Chennai to Coimbatore or Ooty. It’s a really big temple — walking inside itself takes more than 30 minutes. The unique part is that it’s a drive-in temple, you can take your vehicle inside and go around for darshan. Very peaceful, clean, and well maintained with a beautiful hill view.”
