Cát Bà Island is the largest island in Ha Long Bay and is known for its diverse natural ecosystems, including marine and terrestrial habitats. The island is home to a national park that covers about half of its area, providing a sanctuary for the highly endangered Cat Ba langur. With limestone karsts, tropical forests, coral reefs, mangroves, and more, Cát Bà boasts high biodiversity.
Stunning and anyone who says otherwise has no appreciation for earths natural beauty. Yes there is a lot of construction going on BUT there is also so much stunning flora and fauna alongside life changing mountainous views unlike anything I’ve ever seen with my own eyes before
Mia M — Google review
Construction going on atm until 2030 at the front but if you take scooter you see beautiful beaches and coast - it’s just one part of the island when there’s so many other wonderful treasures that the island offers
Zuzanna K — Google review
Lots of construction on main beach - no access to beach and a sky full of cranes….id give this place a miss till they finish the work over the next 5 years. We stayed long enough to do a bay day tour (excellent) but the vibe on the main drag sort of ruined it we left a day early
Drinkwater F — Google review
I excepted more, but Cat Ba island is not really what I thought. Everything in the main island is quite basic, constructions, overpriced restaurants, not good quality seafood (some still nice but not all),… Only thing I can enjoy more is going to see the sea with the boat tour: nice sea with sunny light, you can take nice pictures and can go swimming there too, visit some caves bypass,… Think 3 days is enough to visit there.
Thanh L — Google review
Amazing experience in my life time . Thanks for preserving it . Enjoyed each and every moment starting from yatch cruise , swimming , banana boat ride
Shalif A — Google review
Beautiful island but massive construction projects, lack of infrastructure general confusion makes it not worth visiting right now Insanely noisy do to huge construction project larger than the existing city. Every cruise or tour I scheduled got cancelled (4 in a row) so unless you’re planning on just eating, drinking and listening to jackhammers all day probably avoid it for now.
Jason D — Google review
I really like this place very beautiful and peaceful, on the main island of Cat Ba there is a small town, but quite modern. People here live by seafaring and tourism, they are trying to catch up with the hustle and bustle of tourists from outside arriving on the island. However, the service here is not always good, when experiencing the restaurant here you should pay the price before ordering.
Thiep P — Google review
A picturesque place. Peaceful calm, ideally for both couples and family. Best part is it is also very budget friendly. You can spend a week in less than 500 dollars for a couple while staying in good hotels and good food

Hạ Long Bay is a breathtaking natural wonder in Vietnam, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its stunning and unspoiled beauty makes it a top choice for travelers seeking to explore and experience its impressive natural landmarks, unique rock formations, and the traditional way of life of the local inhabitants. The bay offers various activities such as diving, rock climbing, and hiking amidst its tree-covered limestone islands.
Wow! What a place!😍 You must add it to your Vietnam itinerary. The cruise, cave exploration, view & the food, all were amazing! Here you can even enjoy few activities like Kayaking, Bamboo boat & speed boat.

This beautiful place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s a full-day excursion tour with many magnificent caves to explore. The breathtaking scenes are accompanied by various activities to enjoy. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone looking to add a touch of adventure to their bucket list.
Rizwan G — Google review
I recently visited Ha Long Bay, and it was an unforgettable experience. The sheer beauty of the limestone karsts rising dramatically from the emerald green waters is absolutely mesmerizing. The scenery feels like something out of a dream. I opted for a day cruise, which allowed us to explore the caves, enjoy kayaking, and relax while taking in the serene surroundings. Sung Sot Cave was an incredible highlight with its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The boat ride was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you have more time, I highly recommend the overnight cruises, which I plan to do next time. One small downside was the number of tourists in certain areas, but it didn’t take away from the overall beauty and tranquility of the place. The local food served on the boat was fresh and flavorful, adding an authentic Vietnamese touch to the trip. If you’re visiting Vietnam, Ha Long Bay is a destination you simply cannot miss. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a reason, and it truly lives up to the hype!

Must see in Vietnam- despite it is so turisted. Were on a luxury cruise which was a great experience in it self - but I assume all boats give the same tours and the nature is stunning.
Ane J — Google review
Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in northern Vietnam, is one of the country's most iconic natural wonders and a must-visit destination for any traveler. I recently had the opportunity to explore this breathtaking bay, and I can confidently say it captivated my heart with its stunning landscapes and rich cultural experiences. The first thing that strikes you about Ha Long Bay is its remarkable beauty. The bay is dotted with over 1,600 limestone islands and islets, many of which are covered in lush greenery. The sight of these towering karsts rising dramatically from the emerald waters is simply awe-inspiring. Whether viewed from a boat, a kayak, or the shore, the scenery is breathtaking and offers numerous photographic opportunities. A visit to Ha Long Bay is often best experienced through a cruise. There are various options available, from day trips to overnight excursions on luxury junks. I opted for an overnight cruise, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. The crew was incredibly attentive, and the accommodation was comfortable, creating the perfect ambiance for relaxation. The daily itinerary included visits to hidden caves, swimming in the bay, and enjoying sumptuous meals featuring fresh seafood while watching the sunset over the water. Apart from cruise activities, Ha Long Bay offers plenty of opportunities for adventure and exploration. Kayaking through the bay’s smaller lagoons and caves was a thrilling experience that allowed me to get closer to the stunning rock formations.
Nirav N — Google review
Very nice place. A must see when you come to Vietnam. I recommend the minimum 2 nights stay as most of the people only take one night and don’t get to see the most beautiful places. In the first day you only get to see the most crowded places. In the next day we went to a remote location and enjoyed some nice views and activities.
Liviu A — Google review
Superb scenery. Tourist attractions packed but was to be expected. Stay a night and take in the amazing surroundings first thing in the morning. Choose your cruise carefully!
J P — Google review
Ha Long Bay is indeed one of Vietnam's most iconic and popular tourist destinations, attracting travelers from all around the world. With its stunning view from different cave and emerald waters, it's no wonder it draws such a large crowds. Lots of fun activities like kayaking, walking up the stairs to see sun song cave, Tip top island, beach etc. lots of boat sailing on the ha long bay island.

Love the cable car ride

Chained monkeys forced to perform, fearful of their trainer. Negative reinforcement training. Don't support animal cruelty. Commercial, need to pay to take photos. Loud speaker everywhere.

Cableway the only but beautiful reason to come. Monkeys are ok.

(Translated by Google) I booked a tour at the hotel with a guide from Fan Sun... Everything would have been fine if after the tour we hadn't been taken to a store, pompously dubbed a "snake farm," where they tried to sell us medication, thereby wasting two hours of our time. It would have been great if guides, when selling tours, warned about such "shops" so that clients could choose whether they wanted them or not... There are private guides whose tours are cheaper, more interesting, and without unnecessary shops.

(Translated by Google) An island where many monkeys live The cable car was scarier than I thought. But the panoramic view was very nice. Take an instant photo before getting on the cable car, print it out when you arrive, and sell it for 25 yuan per photo. It's okay to not die. Monkeys were immediately visible. They sometimes urinate on trees, so be careful. The disobedient monkey is locked in prison. The monkey show was so-so, a bit boring. (Translated by Google) There are two ways to get to the island, the first is by cable car, the second by ferry and then by bus. The park is interesting, but not very big. You can watch monkey performances, feed them and just take a walk. You can have a snack in special isolated booths. To visit, you must have a passport with you. Before riding the cable car, take off your hat, as the wind moves quickly.

(Translated by Google) It took an hour and a half to get up the cable car, and another hour and a half to get back down. Admission is 158 yuan (about 28,000 won) per person, regardless of age. Aside from a few monkeys loose on Monkey Island, there's nothing to see, do, or do. The zoo would be better... I feel like I wasted an entire day and money.

(Translated by Google) Location: The only hotel on Wuzhizhou Island, Sanya Service: Because you live in a wooden house and the hotel is relatively large, you basically rely on battery cars to get in and out. When you go out, call the hotel in advance and they will pick you up. The staff will take the initiative to help you with your luggage. Environment: The hotel is basically a big park. The environment is very good. Some scenic spots on Wuzhizhou Island are near the hotel. There are also small animals in the hotel. I saw chickens in the hotel lobby where I checked in... At first, you may think that the hotel is a bit expensive. After all, it costs 900 per room, but it includes 2 days of free car rental and ferry tickets for 2 people to the island. If you buy the ferry tickets to the island alone, it is also 150, so it is more cost-effective. In fact, the hotel also has a free airport shuttle, but it needs to be booked one day in advance before 4 pm, and I didn't have time. We stayed in a wooden house in the hotel. Although it could be seen that it was a bit old, we were still very satisfied with the environment. The wooden huts are not very close together. They feel like they are separate buildings. When you check in, the front desk will notify the staff and deliver free fruit to the room. Turn on the air conditioner in advance. When I arrived in the room, I felt that the floor was very clean. I was used to not wearing slippers at home and felt very comfortable. The room was larger than the photo, but in fact the photo was only half of it. The equipment and facilities are very complete, and there is a swimming pool at the door. In fact, it also includes late night snacks and breakfast, but I didn’t eat late night snacks. I went for breakfast. There are many categories. Breads and desserts are all exquisitely made and taste good. Fried rice, fried noodles, various soups, milk yogurt and fruit drinks. There are a lot of desserts. After asking, breakfast is 228 per person. But I would like to remind everyone that you can bring more snacks when you go there. After all, there are no tourists on the island after 5 o'clock. Outside snacks are no longer open. It belongs to the hotel monopoly. However, the hotel’s dinner is also 298 per person. I personally think it is a bit expensive. Some people think that it is just for fun when you come out to enjoy it, but it is still expensive for students. I took a look at it. The dinner here should be of good quality. There are many kinds of seafood and so on. It depends on your personal situation. You can try it. The advantage of living on the island is that you don’t have to fight with other tourists. If you get up early in the morning, there will be basically no people on the beach.

(Translated by Google) We are currently staying at this hotel. We bought a tour from Teztur, paid for the villa, and before that we looked everywhere for all the information about the hotel and the Villas. We came to our wedding anniversary, 30 years of marriage and my birthday. Having read reviews in relation to Russians, I warned the teztur to contact the hotel and ask for a normal villa, so that there would be no surprises during the holidays upon check-in. In the end, we got what we got:) we moved into villa C3068. Complete devastation, tiles torn off, small debris and dry leaves all around. There is no furniture on the terrace, neither a chair nor a table. The upper terrace is overgrown with rubbish, with non-working lamps, everything is in a very dilapidated condition, a swimming pool with non-working lighting, tiles torn off in places, no furniture or sun loungers. There are empty villas all around, some of them can be seen that at least the railings are painted and visually clean, they asked to change them, they categorically refused, no matter that the room did not match the photo, no matter that they came to celebrate the holidays. It doesn’t matter that there is no furniture or sun loungers on the terraces. It doesn’t matter that everything is covered in dried leaves and dirt. We didn’t throw hysterics and spoil our mood; we checked into our room, deciding that we would go to another hotel in the city for the holidays. Duration of stay from August 3-16. Today, August 9, the bed linen was not changed even once, they didn’t even go to the terrace to sweep the floor :) yesterday I couldn’t resist, I washed the railings of the second and lower terrace, weeded the ground, collected everything in bags and put it at the door. They just took away the trash without batting an eyelid. It is worth noting that towels are changed daily. The dust is not wiped off at all. They don't sweep the porch at all. The hotel is empty, sometimes before the weekend the Chinese come with their families, all the best for them. Russians are like second class according to the residual principle, the attitude is not only in this hotel, absolutely everywhere and in everything. For 3 days we stayed on the first line at the South China Hotel, in a business room with a sea view, we took it through booking, it didn’t matter that the room was expensive and we booked it ourselves, the attitude was the same! Returning to this hotel, upon returning from the city to our villa we saw a plate with 4 peaches, I realized that this was a birthday present, there was no card. There are almost no tourists and this is a plus; in thermal springs, half of the baths are not working, but this is not critical. Both at the reception and on the territory of the hotel you can feel the superiority of your race and the belittlement of us (not us personally:) but ours, there are 4 more people vacationing in the main building) and in absolutely everything: if the shuttle then picks them up first, then us, if you’re standing on breakfast and you order soup and during the cooking process a Chinese man comes up, they will do it for him first. Once this hotel was up to par, now it is empty and neglected. No spa, no massage, no normal restaurant, no store, nothing functions. There is a bus to the city, but it is very inconvenient to leave the hotel at 9:30 and 13:00 back at 14:30, if later then only by taxi. Conclusion: this country is absolutely not for tourists, you will never feel the hospitality like in Bali, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. Everywhere has its pros and cons, but nowhere is there like it. Open the booking and you can immediately see - this hotel accepts only residents of the People's Republic of China, or for residents of the mainland of the People's Republic of China there is a room with a sea view, etc. If you still go to Hainan, then don’t go to this hotel, there are too many disadvantages. It’s much easier to go here to the thermal springs and go back.

Nature & Parks
Yanoda Rain Forest Culture Tourist Zone Ticket Office is a popular destination in Hainan, offering a variety of attractions. Visitors can enjoy the glass bridge with stunning views, cable car rides, and even bungee jumping. The park features a large cultural area with a zoo, flower garden, and multi-level waterfall with beautiful fish. It's an ideal place for exploring the rainforest and spending a day or two surrounded by nature.
A giant and beautifully maintained park—perfect for a full-day adventure! The rainforest is lush, peaceful, and full of interesting sights, with excellent facilities and well-marked paths that make exploring easy and enjoyable. We also had a great meal at the on-site restaurant, where we tried some delicious local dishes and refreshing cocktails. It was a perfect way to relax and recharge. A wonderful mix of nature, culture, and comfort—highly recommended!

Well, it took one hour by car to reach this place from JW Marriott. It was a nice walk. As upper u go, as more humid it was, so my advice is to get more water with u. Stay hydrated ;) Walk here, walk there and we spent almost three hours. We were having fun on our way down by huge ballon, kinda rafting. The view is amazing. After 4 hours we felt exhausted but no regrets

A really nice rainforest park. Nice and easy exploration of the forest. Nice people working there. Worth for a day-trip or even two days. There's a hotel and it's possible to camp there as well. We had a really nice day ;)

(Translated by Google) Yanoda is one of the most popular parks for visiting tourists. Beautiful nature, friendly staff - they meet with group dances and wave “V” as a sign of greeting - this is their corporate feature - all employees do this when they meet. Funicular - closed cabins, two of which have a glass floor, a glass bridge with a panoramic view of the valley, a bungee jump, jungle thickets, a bridge of happiness, a zip line, a mini zoo, an area of artificially planted orchids, a lake-swampy area with a winch and fish that you can feed - you can also have lunch there, sitting near the water and admiring the lotuses, suspension bridge, serpentine along which they descend in open mini buses - everything is thoughtful and beautiful. You can go. But those who go for at least a little adrenaline sensation are probably better off taking the expedition route, because... the usual (listed above) route is very gentle - we went along it, and, to be honest, I still lacked some kind of adrenaline zest, even taking into account the zip line flight. I can also draw a parallel with our Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi - having been there several times before, Yanoda did not bring anything new - everything is the same, only much more expensive due to the cost of Russian-speaking guides and transfers. That's the only reason I give it 4*. And so, in general, it’s a pleasant park - you can visit it once.

(Translated by Google) Yanoda Park with glass bridge! Quite a visited and famous landmark of Hainan. We took a tour, and it was cheaper than getting there ourselves. Transfer with a Russian-speaking guide from China, special thanks to him, he explained and showed everything so interestingly despite the difficulty of the Russian language for the Chinese. We arrived there at 11 o'clock and went to explore! We took the funicular up to the bridge. We walked along the bridge and went down on a zipline, but you can take a bus or walk! The park is huge, the jungle is very beautiful! There is a small zoo where we saw kangaroos and capybaras live. There is an area with orchids, interesting plants, and a complex of waterfalls. We had a buffet lunch, a very good selection of food and drinks! In general, there is a lot of interesting things to see! It's better to see this beauty for yourself!

Panda 🐼 lives here! The Panda hall is amazing, one can have a close encounter with panda, haha behind the glass okay. It’s like a mini panda museum where one can get a comprehensive learning about panda, then watch them play. The gift shop has neat items, the panda bookmarks are a keeper. The trolley ride is fun. It takes you around the whole place. There are feeding stations at most of the stops, family having blasts interacting with the various animals. The feeding created a bonding to make people feel they are more than just a tourist here. Nice landscape to walk and see. I’d recommend a full day visit.

(Translated by Google) I was disappointed with the visit. The facility makes a very unkempt impression. The cages were simply too small for many animals... although there is enough space to build the enclosures in a size appropriate to the species... It would just be much nicer... If the enclosures were planned accordingly large and most of the animals could move freely there... and you could drive through the enclosure accordingly, as a safari.

(Translated by Google) Let's put it this way. This is not the best zoo among those I have been to, but overall it is decent. There is a safari route for a personal car or golf cart from the zoo. And there is a walking route after the safari. A decent selection of animals. Lions, tigers, camels, zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, deer in the wild, capybaras, bears, and, of course, pandas. In the safari part, you can buy food from many animals for 10 yuan and feed them. Of course, this is far from a Singapore zoo, and there are absolutely no dolphins/fur seals in it. But, if you are in Haikou for a few days, then you can go here. Important. If you are a parent with a stroller, be sure to take the walking route from the end!! (Because the first point of the walking route is a huge poultry house, along its entire length you will have to carry both the stroller and the child in your arms!! But if you go in the opposite direction, from the end, you can walk to it and come back). Oh yes, avoid public holidays) we were there on May 1st, firstly, the entrance is more expensive, and secondly, a huge number of locals.

(Translated by Google) This is not a real safari park. It is a zoo consisting of two parts: the first is for cars (you can't walk there), but if you are not in a car or taxi, you can go on a free shuttle (it runs when it is full). But the animals do not roam in the wild, they sit in enclosures just like in a regular zoo. The shuttle takes you to the enclosure, you get out and look at them through the fence. The second part is pedestrian, including the panda enclosure, you can walk around it in an hour and a half to two hours. Near many enclosures they sell vegetables, fruits (for 10), whole watermelons (for 40) or even chicken legs (for 30), which you can feed to the animals. You can't feed them with vegetables if you bring them with you, the fine is 500 yuan. Overall, not a very rich, but interesting zoo in a beautiful natural place. There is nothing special about the botanical garden - no signs on the trees, no collections (flowers, cacti, etc.). The cost is 158 yuan for an individual ticket, 128 if in a group. Drinks and ice cream are sold throughout the territory, the price is higher than in the city (8-10 yuan for 0.5). There are free toilets, no drinking fountains. You can get there from the City Tourist Center or from the Evergreen Park 万绿园 Wanlvyuan by tourist bus 游2, it costs 20 yuan one way, the first one leaves at 8:30, the ride is about an hour. We left back at 13:00, just enough time for everything. There are areas where you walk and there is a small dino park where interactive dinosaur models are installed. The giants, hiding in the greenery near the paths, scream and open their mouths, the main thing is not to get scared. It is very pleasant to walk in the shade of the trees, especially when it is very hot outside. There are toilets on the territory and of course small cafes with ice cream and drinks. You can have a great time on your day off here. I recommend it. If you have enough money and time and don't need anything more than beach lounging and a little exploration, then you have a couple of options. Some people prefer to go for a quick day trip, leaving early in the morning on the first ferry from the mainland (around 8:30 AM), hoping to check in early and drop off their luggage upon arrival. However, most hotels have strict check-in and check-out times, and rooms may not be available until around 12-1:00 PM. So, you may find yourself waiting, killing time, and hoping that other guests will check out soon so you can get your room. If you're not traveling overnight, you can arrive on the island, drop off your luggage, rent a motorbike for sightseeing, have lunch, and then check in later. If the hotel has rooms available, you might be able to check in early, but if not, there's usually no compensation from the hotel as check-in and check-out times are standard policies. During the rest of your time on the island, from noon on day 1 to noon on day 2, you can explore various spots on Cô Tô Island. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even visit Cô Tô Con for some Instagram-worthy photo ops, but then you'll have to pack up, check out, and head back to the port. If you manage to avoid excessive BBQ and alcohol consumption, you should be able to wake up the next day in good shape. However, if you overindulge, you might find yourself sleeping in, having breakfast, doing some last-minute sightseeing, and then heading back. Many people will tell you that this limited time is all you have, so make the most of it. However, it's entirely up to you to decide how you want to spend your time based on your preferences and conditions.

Bodies of Water
Lan Ha Bay is a stunning destination in Vietnam, located to the east and south of Cat Ba Town. It boasts over 300 karst islets and smooth white-sand beaches, offering a serene and secluded atmosphere for visitors. Unlike its famous neighbor Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay sees fewer tourist boats, allowing for a more isolated and authentic experience. Travelers can explore the marine life, including seals, dolphins, fish, and coral reefs while experiencing the local way of life.
This destination is a true gem, with island hills that look like they’re straight out of a postcard, offering scenic hikes for those who enjoy a bit of adventure. The gentle cruise ride is a lovely way to soak in the views, with stops at fascinating caves that add a unique touch to the experience. The highlight is definitely the sunset – watching it from the top deck is simply breathtaking and makes for the perfect photo opportunity. It’s one of those rare moments where nature’s beauty truly stuns. However, a few aspects may not appeal to everyone. The location has become quite popular, so expect crowds, especially at peak times. The beaches are beautiful but can feel packed with tourists, which slightly detracts from the natural vibe. Additionally, if you’re staying on a cruise overnight, be prepared for a lively rooftop scene. While some may enjoy the music and social atmosphere, it can be noisy for those looking to relax and unwind. Despite the crowds and noise, the experience of cruising through these beautiful landscapes, exploring caves, and watching an unforgettable sunset makes it all worthwhile. If you’re open to the bustling energy of other travelers, this place offers an amazing island adventure.

Super cool experience! The scenic views were amazing and super beautiful. It’s crazy to see how vast and big this bay is. It really tops the pictures and videos you see. It’s like King Kong was about to pop over the side hahah. But overall it was super peaceful the water was cold when we went but not terrible if you want a refreshing dip. It was very clean and taken care of where we went. I definitely recommend checking it out if you want to.

Best experience ever in Vietnam! Our tour guide, Tony, was incredibly kind. The food was absolutely delicious, and we made so many new friends from Europe. After dinner, we had a fun karaoke party, tried squid fishing, and even learned how to make spring rolls. The highlight of the trip was definitely kayaking—the area was peaceful and less crowded. The biking adventure the next day on Cat Ba Island was equally amazing. The scenery was breathtaking. 100000/5 stars! Thanks to Sunlight Cruise

Kayaking was nice but I worried to get sick just by touching the waters. Shame

The Cannon Fort Cat Ba Hotel is an affordable and casual accommodation that offers both private rooms and dorms. Complimentary Wi-Fi and a cafe are also available for guests to enjoy. The hotel's scenic location offers panoramic views of the surrounding islands, jungle-covered hills, and beautiful sunsets. Visitors can explore World War II-era underground tunnels and other tourist attractions such as bunkers and gun emplacements nearby.
5 star for price. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Laid back hotel. The simple breakfast is enough to kickstart your day. Clean rooms. Shower is combined with toilet so expect a wet floor in there, normal for small hotels. Good location.
Alan G — Google review
Good people, very friendly and helpful. In the morning there is not often someone at the desk as they are preparing food for breakfast. You have different options for breakfast. 4 egg options and 1 pancake option. Due to some problems we decided to stay longer and that was no problem. Our laundry didn't feel properly done though as it felt like a lot of softener was used but no stains were really removed. Other downside was that the elevator didn't work for 2 times/days. But there was construction going on next door so I think that was the problem. All in all good nice hotel.
Sander T — Google review
Service was amazing! Breakfast was very simple, just eggs or an average pancake. Location was great! Rooms were clean, door didn't close properly for the private bathroom but that didn't bother us much. Was very happy here
Michelle W — Google review
The price for hotel was very affordable so we couldn’t expect a great service. We were surprised . The room was very clean. The staff so helpful and friendly! The breakfast was simple but delicious! Thank you very much ❤️ Happy Independence Day 🇻🇳
Anna — Google review
Rather overpriced. Photos look much better. This is a very basic room worth 10$ not 20$+ We saw they used to have a great breakfast... But reading the other reviews they have changed it after Covid. It was a disaster. We decided to skip the breakfast the following days. They send you to the neighbour hotel. It is the most horrible buffet we had in Vietnam. Consisting of just some toast and awful soup. Owner seems to do some drill where he offers to help whenever we need, but this all seems fake.
Rob D — Google review
This is such a nice little hotel. My wife and I stayed four nights in a double room with very spacious beds and everything was super clean. The breakfast was nice. The cheese and ham omelette can be recommended. The people who run the hotel are also really sweet. They helped us rent a scooter and extend our stay with two more nights. This place is such good value. The only downside is that the rooms are not that well sound isolated within the building, but it does a pretty good job keeping the noise from outside away. And the hotel is nicely located a bit away from the main street.
Daniel H — Google review
Stayed here for three nights in a private room. The location was really good and the staff were mostly helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean, no complaints at all there. Price was very decent. The negatives for me was that the hotel lacked a bit of personality, which is why I don't give it the highest grade. This is maybe something that not every traveler seeks, but personally I enjoy a hotel with charisma and a good vibe, and here it was a little bit stale unfortunately.
Lukas F — Google review
Amazing quality for a great price. Been traveling Southeast Asia for two months now and this is one of the more memorable hotels. Good location. Very clean. Quiet. Huge beds. Delicious breakfast. I came with my friend for her bday and the staff helped me arrange to put a birthday cake and champagne in her room (which I paid a little extra for) but then they also got her a beautiful bouquet of flowers which made the room smell so good.

This overnight cruise exceeded all expectations! A truly wonderful experience, made even more memorable by the exceptional service of Jackie and Tracy. Their attentiveness and warmth really elevated the trip. We highly recommend opting for the room upgrade; the extra space was a luxurious treat, and the expansive restroom was a pleasant surprise. The private deck provided a serene escape to enjoy the breathtaking views. The culinary offerings were incredibly plentiful, with a diverse range of delicious dishes that satisfied every palate. To top it all off, the mixed drinks were not only expertly crafted but also surprisingly affordable, making for a delightful and relaxing evening. This cruise offers incredible value and creates lasting memories.

We really loved our 3-day, 2-night cruise, it felt like a soft landing in Ha Long Bay. The staff were incredibly kind, generous, and always eager to accommodate anything we needed. The trip was well-organized and peaceful, with just the right amount of activities like kayaking, cave & pearl farm visits, swimming... easy and enjoyable for both adults and kids. It was also a very family-friendly experience. Our kids felt welcome, and the staff made them feel seen and included, which made it that much more special. Something small that didn’t resonate with us as much, though offered in good spirit was live Vietnamese violinist playing a Vietnamese violin. He played beautifully, but only Western/American songs - which felt a little disconnected from the local setting. We would’ve loved even one or two Vietnamese pieces to connect more deeply with the culture. During the spring roll-making demonstration (which was fun, cute, and surprisingly practical to learn how to make them) hygiene could be improved. Only hand sanitizer was used by staff and guests, versus everyone washing their hands and having gloves available for all. That said, overall it was a lovely and memorable experience. A clean, calm, and welcoming cruise that helped us experience Ha Long Bay in a relaxing, effortless way. We’re so glad we did it.

Exceptional service. Beautiful wood boat! Room was so comfortable and well- appointed. Tien took amazing care of us. We were on the Legend, only 3 staterooms so we had it to ourselves. Such a spectacular bucket list experience.

Beautiful 3 day 2 night trip with Bhaya Legend 4. The cabins, dining room and sun deck are amazing. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are delicious. Kevin, the boat manager, took great care of us. The kayaking tour through the caves and lakes was a unique experience. Rest of the staff also extremely friendly. Highly recommended experience when you are in Vietnam

The cruise was fine however was very disappointed with the village trip, this looked like a staged village with restraunts setup by the cruise company. Booked 1 night stay and plan to visit the caves by canoe but the village trip took the afternoon up and due to 1 night stay the only offer to canoe to the caves was at 7:15am. Would have been better time spent in the afternoon canoeing and visiting caves rather than the village and offer village trip next day. Feel.like it's been to commercialised to warrant 5 stars.

My wife and I had an amazing cruise. Transfer to and from our hotel in Hanoï was organised for us, we were on a small 3 cabin boat, in a wooden cabin with all comfort and equipment we needed. The crew spoke English, and were very helpful, especially Phuc, always making sure we were having a nice trip. It was our honeymoon, and we have a couple of surprises waiting for us for the occasion, which we both highly appreciated ! Many thanks again to Bahya Cruises

The Au Co Cruise in Halong Bay offers a modern yacht experience with top-notch services and professional staff. It's conveniently located just 2.5 hours from Hanoi, accessible by limousine buses. The cruise features 35 spacious luxurious cabins with modern amenities, private sun terraces, and bathtubs in each room.
Au Cô cruise was definitely one of the nicer cruise ships in the bay! We were so happy we went with this cruise - all of the staff was so friendly and attentive and the ship was very well maintained. The views were absolutely stunning and majestic. Not a lot of wifi but you shouldn’t need it anyway !! The schedule of activities was a perfect balance of staying busy while also having time to relax. We went bike riding, had a cooking class, enjoyed happy hour at sunset, morning kayaking and stopped at a beach. My husband did the night squid fishing and caught a squid. We had a deluxe room near the front and the room was more spacious - highly recommend especially if you have a lot of luggage. Everything was nice and clean. There was a welcome lunch buffet, seated dinner and breakfast buffet. Plenty of food available. They accommodated for vegetarians like myself and other dietary needs. There was made to order options like eggs, noodle soups etc. Loved it and can’t wait to take our friends and family on this cruise next time we’re in Vietnam!

Traveled on the Au Co as part of a large (50+ person) wedding group. Beautiful ship with extremely friendly and caring staff. The kitchen team went out of their way to ensure my partner with multiple food allergies (celiac, oranges, soy, sunflower oil among them) was able to partake in all meals. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of being on the Au Co 2 for two nights and tree days in February. Besides the amazing natural beauty, the staff is dedicated to making your stay the highlight of your Vietnam travels. I was a solo traveler, but the crew always made me feel welcomed and important. Tom was an amazing cruise director, and Cindy and Joy were personable and highly professional. I can’t thank Elijah enough for helping me find transport back to Hanoi after discovering my planned transport was not at the port. Treat yourself to a trip of a lifetime by taking the Au Co cruise in Ha Long Bay – you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful time on the Au Co. Standout service and incredible value for money. We could not believe the quality of the rooms, food and drinks for such an affordable price. The staff were so friendly, always helpful and would go out of their way to make the trip extra special and memorable. We loved that the company is also doing so much for the local communities and environment. First time on a cruise in Halong Bay. The rooms were decent. The bathroom was see through and flooded every time the shower was used. The crew were friendly, polite and looked after us well. The food and drinks were average. The spring roll making and karaoke was great fun. I wouldn't stay overnight again as it was difficult to sleep with the sounds of water splashing against the boat all night.
Andrew — Google review
We did a 2 night cruise, and had 2 different guides who didn’t communicate and the second day was a repeat of the first, so we stayed on the boat. The food was average and the room wasn’t cleaned on the second day, which is awful when u can’t flush the toilet paper. Also my husband and 3 Kiwis got an upset stomach after night 2. The food looked good but didn’t taste good. The boat is old and tired and has fake grass covering the uneven deck. Please consider paying a bit more and choose something a bit better.

We had a lovely cruise on Halong Bay on Lavender Cruise. Alex, our tour guide was friendly and informative and provided an enjoyable cruise ensuring we ticked off the highlights of the bay including Ti Top Island and Secret Cave. Alex is extremely knowledgeable about the area and ensured we made it to Secret Cave before the crowds on the second morning. The crew on board the boat ensured we were well fed and looked after. Highly recommend.
Megan H — Google review
One of the best experiences during my stay in Vietnam. The cruise was booked last minute because other cruise company tried to cheat us. And we are so happy we booked Lavender cruise at the end. The guide Bobby is very nice, helpful and tried to make everything so the passangers were satisfied. They upgraded our room so we had a big corner room surrounded by windows with stunning view. Main attractions of the cruise - Titop island, kayaking and Surprising cave are very crowded but thanks to Bobby we had kayaking only by our small group. There are also night attractions - karaoke and squid fishing. The food on the ferry is very delicious. Mostly they serve seafood so if you have other preferences you need to inform them in advance. The cocktails on board are quite expensive (6-7$ per one) but it is a common practice on ferry cruises in Hà long. We were very lucky to have a great weather and to meet great people on the boat so if I could, I would rate this cruise 6 out of 5 because everything was way better than we expected.

Do Son Beach is a sandy peninsula that boasts of its French colonial heritage and is dotted with various resorts. It offers a pleasant swimming experience, despite the brownish color of the water which some attribute to the soil composition in the Red River and coastal area. The beach provides several amenities such as restaurants, storage facilities, and shower areas for visitors' convenience.
Do Son Beach, located in Hai Phong, Vietnam, is a well-known coastal destination that attracts both locals and tourists. Nestled between lush green hills and the blue waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, Do Son offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and modern amenities. The beach boasts soft sandy shores and calm waves, making it an ideal spot for swimming, sunbathing, and family outings. Historically, Do Son was a popular retreat for French colonists, and its charm continues to captivate visitors today. The area is also home to various attractions, including the Bao Dai Villa, where Vietnam’s last emperor once stayed, and the vibrant annual Buffalo Fighting Festival, a unique cultural event. With its scenic landscapes, historical significance, and leisure activities, Do Son Beach is a must-visit destination for those exploring the northern coast of Vietnam.

Do Son Beach in Haiphong is really beautiful! Just a 45-minute drive from the city center, there are plenty of hotels and resorts, and the local food around is very affordable! It was nice to swim around. The water is brown, and some people say that this colour has nothing to do with dirt but only with the composition of the soil in the red river and around that coastal area. I don't know 😊😊 Around the beach there are plenty of restaurants and some places where you can store your stuff and take a shower on your way back from the beach. Overall not the best beach I've been to in my life, however, probably one of the best nearby Hanoi.

Best during summer time *April to September* ONLY It was quite cold and very few ppl on the cruise. In such a case ideally the cruise should cancel so that there are more people and as everyone knows- the more the merrier!! Unfortunately for us the day was gloomy and cold. Sun was out only the next morning. Our guide Victor was really good and a sweet chap. Kayaking, trampoline, Jacuzzi was fun. We couldn’t swim as it was so cold. The food on the cruise was just alright. For the first meal they ran out of a few dishes, which seems illogical considering the number of people!! The second meal was decent, the third and last meal was like a favor on us! So so poor. Id recommend you to carry a few things from the city- snacks, tea/coffee and most importantly water. The bar staff and servers were sweet. Rooms were really spacious. Included toiletries. I find it weird they ask us to leave the room by 8.30-9am. It simply pointless as we waited a long time at the restaurant level to get to the port and then into the boat. So be prepared to wake up early after a long party night. Besides the worst part was the house keeping simply walks into your room. Zero sense of security!

Given 3 stars as the cruise it self was good ...but after reading some reviews ..it is easy to get relieved of you're money pretty easy with out a full explanation what services you should have taken part in ..DO NoT buy from a ticket tout even in the main cruise building ..or hotel you will end up paying heaps more and trying to track the tout should anything go wrong is a knight mare...go to the main desk ..ask what options are ..such as what food and what excursions you wish to go on like the row boat as that costs more on to you're ticket ..beware don't rush Into purchasing a ticket from just anyone you won't get the full enjoyment otherwise

Great experience. The food was delicious, the room spacious and clean. The only con was the cold water at the shower. We met nice people, we played cards, danced and had a good time together.
Ioana S — Google review
This was a let down considering the amount of money we paid. The hot tubs were cold (and it was barely 15 degrees outside). The “happy hour” was buy 2 get 1 free but had to be cocktails (the website said 2 for 1 any drinks). Drinks were expensive and the bar tending was slow especially considering there was only 25 other people on the cruise. We asked if more people would be joining us and they lied, saying there would be others joining us the next day. On the last day we were not fed lunch (despite it being on the itinerary) and so if you didn’t get up for breakfast (which was at 7am) you didn’t eat until 6pm that night back in Hanoi. Wish I had not purchased this expensive cruise.

We booked February 16-17 2023, The jacuzzis were all freezing (except for the smallest one which has a capacity of 6 on a boat carrying 70 passengers), on a day where the temperature was 17°c and the staff kept lying to us saying "it is heating for the big party tonight" which we later discovered was only to make us shut up. Also didn't do the drinking games they promised us, there was zero animation and the alcohol is fairly expensive for vietnam. We basically paid over 200$ for a kayaking trip. Ha long bay itself is nice though, you should book with another boat

We booked this tour from our hotel (Fancy Hotel in HaLong). We were picked up from the hotel and were delivered right at the tour boat. The guide spoke English well and was enthusiastic and energetic. Lunch was provided on the boat as well. This tour took us to caves, islands, beaches and kayaking spots and provided us with enough amazing views. We chose this day tour instead of the one night two days tour, and I didn't regret that decision for a second. Would definitely recommend this tour!

This temple has such beautiful gardens and a real ancient feel to it, definitely worth coming here for the spiritual endevour

Beautiful ancient temple but it seems a little bit rundown. Must-go destination if you want to learn more about difference between Northern and Southern Vietnam temples.

Interesting if you like temples. One of the few things to do and see in Hai Phong. The trek passes through a busy road with markets and stalls nearby. The temple is impressive and well looked after with lots of activity, however unless you are interested in temples you won't need much time to spend here.

I heard this temple is very famous to local and people from far away. They come to meet the monk to beg for luck. The temple is within walking distance of local market, so there's always crowded. Parking inside the temple is free; outside 10k vnd.

Great for cruising around the rock formations. This is the main cave (Surprise Cave?). It was quite crowded with a pretty step coming up.

Built over a thousand years ago & could be considered the oldest Temple in the whole of Haiphong. Historical wise the temple was the scene of patriotic fervour against colonial rule during the 1920s

Du Hang Pagoda was established in 17th century. Inside the pagoda are several statues that are intricately engraved in the style of the Nguyen Dynasty.

An old temple, there is a pogada, though on Saturday afternoon, but few people, especially very few young people, you can witness the tich culture and heritage of Buhdism in this culture; Made a friend here as well, we travelled to another interesting temple nearby as well

Mountains
Yen Tu Mountain, located in Quang Ninh, is a forested mountain famous for its Buddhist temples and pagodas. It can be accessed via cable car or by hiking. The area is known for its delicious cuisine, including fishcakes, shrimps, crabs, and seafood. During the Lunar New Year, it gets extremely crowded with visitors from all over. The mountain is considered the ancestral land of Buddhism and offers incredible views.
Yên Tử Mountain is located in Quảng Ninh Province, northern Vietnam, known as a sacred Buddhist site and a national tourist destination. It is famous for its connection to the Trúc Lâm Zen Buddhist sect, founded by King Trần Nhân Tông in the 13th century. The mountain is a peaceful pilgrimage site with many temples, pagodas, and historical landmarks spread over lush forests. Visitors can explore the spiritual atmosphere of the area, which includes notable sites like the Hoa Yên Pagoda and the Dong Pagoda. For those wishing to visit, there are convenient services such as the Yên Tử Cable Car, which takes passengers on a scenic ride to the top, offering a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding landscapes. Hiking up the mountain through its numerous stone steps is also popular, providing a more physically engaging experience. There are various facilities like rest areas, local food vendors, and guided tours to enhance the visit.

At first, we planned to go hiking, but once we got there… we immediately decided to take the cable car instead 😆 The journey was pretty easy since we just followed Google Maps. There aren’t many accommodation options in the area—just one resort with direct access to Yen Tu Mountain. The ride itself was super fun! We got to enjoy endless green scenery along the way 🌿 If you’re in Hanoi and looking for an alternative destination, you should definitely check this place out. Totally worth it! 😉

Breathtaking views, great cable-car system, holy sites and a healthy climb (even with using the cabe -car). It is a very much underrated place in the north of Vietnam. Most foreigners are not even aware of the beauty of the mountain and its pagodas. The local vendors are friendly, have everything from souvenirs to fresh coconut and cold beer. Excellent photo-ops, but so much more. Make sure to visit Yen Tu when in Hanoi or nearby.

It’s cool that just 30 minutes from Hai Phong you can climb the mountains and get an amazing view and see such a rich nature, breath the freshest air🥰 Everything is organized in the best way. You can even get free water, buy food, souvenirs in many places. I sincerely recommend to visit this spot👍 Vietnam is a truly amazing country🥰

I visited here on Lunar New Year and it was extremely crowded, so many many people from everywhere came. This place is very huge. There are 2 ways to go visit the temple on top of Yen Tu mountain - take the cable car and hike up or just only do hiking up. Because I didn’t have much time, then I chose to take the cable car and do hiking in some parts. Omg, the view is incredible, I love it. My private tour guide chose to do hikking up and we met on the top of the mountain. The way to do hikking is not difficult, even the 80 years old lady can do too, I met her on the way when I was very close to the temple on the top of mountain (definitely she did with her family, not alone). Only 1 small temple on the top of mountain but everyone come there for it. From here, you can see the view 360 degrees, so beautiful! But 1 thing I don’t like is - the safety on the top of mountain. It will be ok if you visit here on normal day, not holidays or Lunar new year because no many people. No any fences around the rocks and if many people go there at the same time, you will be hustled in the crowd. But anyway, this place is nice to go visit, just be careful when you are on the top of mountain.

Considered as "the ancestral land of Buddhism". An even more interesting thing is the dividing line between Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces. If the East belongs to Quang Ninh province, the West of this pagoda belongs to Bac Giang province. If you don't mind crowds, and want to participate in interesting activities at the temple, you can go from January 10 to March of the lunar calendar. This is the time of the Yen Tu Spring Festival, so there are quite a few tourists from all over the world to visit. Roadside restaurants have affordable and acceptable prices You might consider staying at Legacy Resort Yen Tu

Very beautiful! When you park, if you’re a foreigner the lady sells a ticket for 30k, I refused and waited at my bike and another lady let me in free with only 10k parking 😂 I have to say, the temple is really beautiful inside and there is much to see, especially the pagoda. I recommend it!
