Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Serene Hindu temple complex on hill featuring a garden & large Dwajasthambam (flagstaff).
A beautiful and serene temple having a peaceful ambiance, well managed by KG mills company. The deity inside is exactly the same as that of Tirupati Balaji, Andhra Pradesh. Inside there is a Goshala. There will be a crowd always and it takes a little bit of wait to get Darshan. The main deity and sanctum santorum is accessed by climbing stairs from the ground. There is a counter for selling Temple ladoos and another counter for serving temple prasadam. There are another numerous counters for selling Pooja items and Trigger branded jeans, shirts, tshirts etc. (Oct 2025)

Then tirupati is a Hindu, Perumal temple is nearly maintained by a private organization. Located in sirumugai road at a distance of 36 km from Gandhipuram and takes 55 minutes depending on traffic. On the leftside of the road a board is kept by highways tamil nadu in front of the temple. Please, refer the board for entry (there's an error in showing the entrance by Google map). At the entrance itself they collect the cell, camera to maintain the silence at the temple venue. Taking photos on the premises is not allowed. A peaceful, silent and devotional scenario for pleasant prayers. Some factory outlets and small sales counters and tea stall are available. Toilets, urinals and closets are maintained neatly. Good parking space is available. They charge Rs.50 for "laddu", nice. Suggestion to the sales counter : laddu is dry on the outer, please, check it. There's a cow shelter and sells "panjakavyam" @ Rs 100 per liter.

Very calm and devotional place. The positive vibe once we entered into the prayer area is really goosebumps.

Lord is always divine. But priest class is always cheating and create misery for common man. At 9am they make people walk all the way and tell that temple will open at 11am . When will this atrocities change only God knows
Vasughi P — Google review
This Temple is wonderful place especially Ekanthasevai @ 7.30Pm on everyday . Very pleasant/ calm - Holyplace . Temple is maintained very clean & organised in better manner . Prasadham will be given after dharsan. Special abhisekam on special days . It is KG Denim Private owned temple . Only one suggestion - Passage way to parking area may be maintained little better
Selva K — Google review
A very calm and cozy private temple with a view of serene nature with a view of pure positivity. Mobile 📱 phones are not allowed inside the temple and there is a safe deposit for the mobile phones. Delicious Laddus for the cost of ₹50 each is available here. Apart from the temple there are lot of dress shops at cheaper price rate. Ample parking space for four wheelers, even to accommodate vans and buses are available. A small eatery, bakery and provision store is located with the temple premises, for the convenience of the devotees.
KAMALANATH M — Google review
This place is maintained by KG denim company. Good big temple. Every day perumal marriage is being performed. Trigger had factory price shop inside the temple premises. The premises has good parking facility.
SENDIL S — Google review
Nice and calm place to visit with family. This is a private owned temple by KG mills, that's the reason you can see Trigger outlets in and around the temple. I would suggest to visit this temple on Saturdays. Parking available for both cars and bikes. No fees for parking or to enter the temple. Mobile or any camera devices are not allowed inside the temple.

Thindal Murugan Temple

Mentioned on
1 list
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Thindal Murugan Temple is a hillside Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple boasts intricate carvings and a stunning golden stepped tower. It's an ideal place to spend time with family, particularly for kids who will love the visit. Visitors can witness the gold car (thanga ther) run on Fridays at 7 pm by paying Rs 1500. Thai Poosam is the most famous festival here, but it also draws large crowds.
Already reviewed. Super temple. Shri Velayuthaswamy temple in Thindal is a very famous one in Erode. A new Gopuram will come up soon to add more beauty to the temple. It is a must visit temple.
Karthikeyan P — Google review
Nestled atop Thindal Malai hill, the temple offers "a serene atmosphere" and "panoramic views of Erode" . The temple is accessible by climbing roughly 120 steps, or via a well-paved road for vehicles . Ample parking is available, though there is a fee, and some small shops at the base offer flowers and other items . Located approximately 6–8 km from Erode city center, it’s well-connected via buses and road networks . Festivals & Special Highlights The temple car (golden chariot) is run on certain occasions—such as Fridays—and can be witnessed by paying a donation (e.g., ₹1,500) . Major festivals like Thaipusam, Karthigai Deepam, and Panguni Uthiram are celebrated with grandeur and draw large crowds . The temple holds significance as one of the 108 Murugan shrines celebrated in Tiruppugazh hymns .
Jagan N — Google review
Thindal Murugan Kovil is truly a divine and spiritually uplifting place dedicated to Lord Murugan, the embodiment of wisdom, courage, and victory. The temple is situated on a small hill, giving devotees a serene atmosphere away from the noise of the city. Climbing up and having darshan itself feels like a blessing, as the cool breeze and peaceful surroundings fill the mind with positivity and devotion. The idol of Lord Murugan here is majestic and radiates divine energy. The temple is well-maintained, with clean premises and organized darshan, allowing devotees to worship peacefully. The chanting of mantras and the sound of temple bells create an aura of spirituality that deeply touches the soul. One of the highlights is the panoramic view from the top of the hill, which adds to the beauty and sanctity of the temple. Visiting during early mornings or evenings gives a blissful experience, especially when the temple lights shine across the city. Festivals, particularly Thaipusam and Panguni Uthiram, are celebrated with grandeur, attracting devotees from far and wide. The spiritual vibrations during these times are indescribable and must be experienced in person. Overall, Thindal Murugan Kovil is not just a temple but a divine destination where one feels closer to Lord Murugan. A must-visit for anyone seeking blessings, peace of mind, and spiritual upliftment... #Haromhara

Thindal Murugan Temple in Thindal, Erode, Tamil Nadu, is a very peaceful and beautiful place to visit. The temple is built on a small hill and offers a lovely view of Erode city. Climbing up is easy, and the cool breeze makes it a pleasant experience. The main deity, Lord Murugan, looks divine and powerful, bringing peace and positivity to everyone who visits. The temple is clean and well maintained, and the priests are kind and helpful. When I visited, some construction work was going on, which shows that the temple is being improved for devotees. There is car parking available, but it is limited, so visiting early or on weekdays is better. The temple is near a busy traffic area, but it’s easy to reach, and there is a bus stop nearby for those using public transport. The morning and evening atmosphere is very calm and spiritual with beautiful chants. Overall, a must-visit temple in Erode for peace, devotion, and blessings.

Beautiful and peaceful Murugan temple on a small hill in Erode. The temple offers a very calm and divine atmosphere, especially during early mornings and evenings. Climbing the steps is easy and gives a great view of the city from the top. The place is always clean and well-maintained. There's enough parking space for both two-wheelers and cars. Special occasions like Thai Poosam or Panguni Uthiram are celebrated very nicely here. The golden chariot (Thanga Ther) procession in the evening is a must-see. Overall, it's a perfect place to visit with family and spend some quiet time in prayer and peace.

The Thindal Murugan Temple in Erode is a serene and spiritually uplifting place. Perched atop a small hill, the temple offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding area. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and is known for its peaceful ambiance, well-maintained premises, and beautiful architecture. The climb to the temple is manageable, and the cool breeze adds to the experience. The priests are friendly and perform rituals with great devotion. 1008 Shiva & Rajarajeshwari Temple Salem

Mentioned on
7 lists
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The 1008 Shiva Temple in Salem is a Hindu temple complex dedicated to Shiva, featuring an array of 1008 identical Nandi statues carved from stone. The main highway runs close by, but the temple can only be reached at the top of the hill. In addition to the impressive lingas and nandis, there are also other allied group temples such as Perumal Temple.
Nestled in the serene surroundings of Ariyanoor, near Salem, the 1008 Lingam Temple offers an ideal escape for those seeking peace, silence, and spiritual rejuvenation. Surrounded by lush greenery and well-maintained natural beauty, this sacred site invites visitors into a tranquil journey of devotion and inner calm. The walk to the top of the mountain is both refreshing and reflective, with every curve of the pathway lined with Shiv Lingas and Nandi statues. Along the way, you’ll encounter various deities that enrich the spiritual atmosphere — from Lord Ganesha welcoming you at the entrance, to temples dedicated to Lord Rama, Jai Hanuman, Lord Shiva with Subramanyam, and the powerful Shakthi Devi. The entire trail is embraced by green plants and tall trees, adding to the sense of serenity. At the summit, a majestic 17-meter statue of Sri Umayambigai Sametha Sri Arunachala Sundareswara overlooks the hills, offering not just panoramic views but a deeply calming presence. The peaceful ambiance and sacred energy make this temple a perfect destination for those wishing to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with their inner self.
Pranurish Z — Google review
About the temple It’s a relatively modern temple (built around 2010) under the care of the Vinayaka Mission. It has 1008 Shiva lingams arranged such that 1007 surround a central lingam, with a statue of Nandi in front. On the hilltop, the main shrine houses Sri Umaiyambigai Samedha Sri Arunachala Sundareswara. The temple is located on Salem’s bypass road, in Ariyanoor, about 14 km from Salem city centre. Timings There is some variation in reported timings. Here are the credible ones: According to Salem district’s official temple list: 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tamil Nadu Tourism brochure also lists the same timings: 7:30 am–12:30 pm & 4:00 pm–8:00 pm Some sources say it opens from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (for general viewing) One devotional blog suggests 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm From TripAdvisor Q&A: for main deity pooja, best between 9:00 am–11:00 am and 5:00 pm–8:00 pm Given these, the official timings (7:30 am–12:30 pm, 4:00 pm–8:00 pm) seem most reliable. Best time to visit Morning (soon after opening) is ideal: cooler, quieter, less crowded. Evening is also pleasant, especially during dusk, when the light and surroundings are serene. The winter months (November to February) are often recommended as the best time to visit (milder weather) Avoid midday in hot months, as heat and direct sun may make the walk up less comfortable
Sharath S — Google review
A Serene and Divine Discovery in Salem !! I truly regret having missed this divine place during my previous travels through Salem. This is a serene and peaceful location, nestled amidst nature and adorned with numerous Shiva Lingas, offering a truly calming and spiritually enriching experience. The temple provides convenient car parking with two options. You can either park at the bottom and enjoy a peaceful walk up the small hill, or take the Vinayaka Missions entrance to drive directly to the top. I highly recommend starting from the bottom, parking your vehicle, and beginning your ascent from the Vinayagar shrine. This place is a beautiful confluence of faiths, featuring shrines for all in one location. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and divine, filling you with a sense of tranquility and good vibes. When you're traveling through Salem, I urge you to take the time to visit this spot. You will be pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking views and the powerful, positive energy of the place.
Balaji M — Google review
A serene spiritual experience perched on a hill, this temple features an enchanting walkway lined with 1008 Shiva lingams and Nandi statues. The complex is clean, well-maintained, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding greenery. The ascent is pleasant whether you walk or drive, and the inner sanctum has a powerful aura. Some visitors note minor upkeep issues, but overall it’s a must-visit for those seeking peace and devotion.
Shivani P — Google review
Peaceful, unique, and beautifully laid out. Walking the pathway past row after row of Shiva lingams with a majestic central sanctum feels meditative—even on a busy day. The campus is clean, signage is clear, and darshan usually moves smoothly. Families and seniors will appreciate the benches and shaded stretches; kids get excited spotting the numbered lingams. What I liked: calm priests, tidy prakarams, and the satisfying “parikrama” loop where you can complete a quiet round of prayer without jostle. Plenty of photo-worthy angles in the open courtyard (avoid the sanctum for photos). Good to know: mornings and late evenings are cooler; afternoons can be hot in the open areas—carry water. Parking is straightforward near the entrance. Dress modestly, and keep small change/UPI handy for archana/prasadam. Tip: do one slow clockwise round touching each pillar/lingam cluster with your right hand—it turns the visit into a mindful walk. Secret tip: after the main darshan, stand a few minutes at the far end of the courtyard and look back toward the central shrine—the symmetry of the 1008 lingams lining up to the sanctum is the most serene frame of the temple. 🙏
Dinesh P — Google review
1008 Lingam Temple near Salem is a must-visit when traveling from Chennai to Coimbatore or Ooty. It’s a really big temple — walking inside itself takes more than 30 minutes. The unique part is that it’s a drive-in temple, you can take your vehicle inside and go around for darshan. Very peaceful, clean, and well maintained with a beautiful hill view.”
Devaprasad S — Google review
1008 Shiva Linga & Rajarajeshwari temple is a deeply spiritual and serene temple located on a tranquil hillside in Ariyanur near Salem Tamilnadu. The main attraction is the truly unique collection of 1008 Shiva lingams. Each lingam is accompanied by its own Nandi, creating a visually stunning spectacle. The location is also accessible via public transport from Salem's New Bus Stand it takes around 20 minutes to reach on a very reasonable fare of just 11 INR one way.

Wonderla Amusement Park, Bengaluru

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Wonderla Amusement Park in Bengaluru is a popular destination for thrill-seekers and families alike. The park offers a wide range of attractions, including roller coasters, water rides, and virtual reality experiences. With over 55 rides spread across 33 hectares, visitors can enjoy everything from high-thrill experiences like the Flash Tower and Hurricane to more relaxed options such as Lazy River and Fun Racers.
We visited Wonderla on Diwali, and while the experience was fantastic, be warned: the crowd was very high. The Good: The overall vibe is excellent, and the cleanliness and maintenance across the park are top-notch. The staff deserve a special mention; their response and behavior were very good, and they were professional and polite, even on a busy day. Must-Try Rides & Attractions: The variety of rides is superb! We loved the water section, especially the Rain Dance, Wave Pool, Mammoth, and all the water slides. For thrill-seekers, the Recoil coaster is a masterpiece. My personal favorites were Mission Interstellar and Recoil—they are must-do experiences! (A bonus: they provide videos and photos for some rides to capture the memories.) Important Tips for Visitors: Evening Highlight (Must Wait!): Be sure to stay until the end of the day for the incredible dance and music show! It’s the perfect, energetic finish to a thrilling day. Crowd Warning: I do not recommend visiting on weekends or major holidays like Diwali/Christmas unless you are prepared for extreme queues. Fast Track is Mandatory: If you must visit on a busy day, I strongly recommend getting the Fast Track tickets as they are the only way to avoid ridiculously long waiting times and enjoy all the rides. Food Costs: Be aware that the food and beverages inside the park are definitely on the higher side. Overall, Wonderla offers a fantastic, clean, and fun experience, provided you manage the crowds wisely!
Lokesh C — Google review
One of the best amusement parks in the country. Some rides are really high on thrill and adrenaline rush, especially their roller coaster- recoil, the twister, maverik etc. You must not miss the newly added adventure ride- Interstellar which is an experience in itself. The giant wheel at the 13th floor gives the best view of the park and the city. The waterpark isn’t great but has some good water slides and rides you can try. For extra fun you can try the rain dance shows, & especially the wave pool with the dj is so much fun. The best part is they hae made a division in the pool with 2 sides, one for family, couple, women; and other for only men. The crew keeps a check that everyone follows the rules properly and behaves. Some things to keep in mind. Some rides can have queues in rush time, but its doable; as the fastrack tickets are double the cost and not worth it as you can still do all rides without it, just make sure you reach before noon and are there till atleast 6pm. Noone specifically checked the costume for waterpark, but carry appropriate material clothes to enjoy the most, or you’ll have t o buy them at 350 bucks. The locker costs 350 rs, with an additional 50 bucks of the magnetic key watch band. There are multiple food joints and options to eat from. You’ll also find souvenir shops. Wait till post the sunset to see the beauty of the park in lights. You can take certain buses plying to and back from the park to city. Fantastic Experience at Bangalore Amusement Park! I had an absolutely amazing time at Bangalore Amusement Park! The place is beautifully maintained, clean, and filled with thrilling rides for all age groups. From roller coasters to water rides, every attraction was well-managed and safe. The staff were courteous, helpful, and ensured everyone had a great experience. The food court had plenty of delicious options, and the overall ambiance made it a perfect day out with family and friends. The park is vibrant, fun, and definitely worth visiting again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excitement and entertainment in Bangalore! 🎢🎡🎠

Check offers before Booking! This place is really good for a day outing, don't start from the first ride, watch YouTube videos to see which one you don't wanna miss and be in queue for those in the start. First of all reach the place by 10 am to be aware of what to do, and how to go ahead. Normal queue Wait time is 30-70 minutes on each ride after 11:30. So decide wisely don't waste your time on not so worthy rides. We included three meals, it was a good decision so we didn't waste time deciding, what to eat. My recommendations at least include noon meal, so you can enjoy it and during the evening it will be your wish for what you wanna eat after rides. Take the longest hours, it's hardly the matter of 100-200/- rs but then after dinner also you may be able to do some fun rides if not water rides. Take the locker in advance or one of you may end up just looking after your stuff. Wear water rides approved clothing from the start , so you don't waste time changing clothes again and again. Wear rubber slippers/ crocs, it's easy for you to move around.

I recently went to Wonderla Bengaluru, and honestly, it was an amazing experience! One of the best amusement parks I’ve ever been to. The place is super clean, well maintained, and packed with rides that’ll give you both adrenaline rush and pure fun. The new Mission Interstellar ride totally blew my mind! It’s India’s first space themed ride and the huge screen makes you feel like you’re actually floating in space definitely a must-try. Apart from that, the high thrill rides like Recoil were just insane. The water park section was also great the slides, the wave pool, the lazy river everything was just perfect for cooling off and chilling. The staff were polite and helpful throughout the day, and the locker and changing facilities were neat and clean. I also liked the food options inside decent variety and not too overpriced, which was nice. Overall, I had an absolute blast here! Whether you’re going with friends, family, or your partner, Wonderla guarantees a full day of fun, thrill, and amazing memories. Totally worth it! 🙌

We recently visited *Wonderla Bangalore* with a group of four friends on a **Sunday weekend**, and it was an amazing experience! Since Wonderla was celebrating its **20th anniversary**, they had a special **Buy 2 Get 2 Free offer**, so the crowd was quite full — but the fun was totally worth it! The park is **very clean, green, and peaceful**, with a lot of energy and excitement all around. We enjoyed both **dry rides and water games** — each one gave us a thrill! The **rain dance** and **Rizal Coaster** were especially unforgettable and gave us real goosebumps. There are **lockers available**, and **drinking water** is easily accessible throughout the park, which is really convenient. Coming to **food**, the options are good and available at **reasonable prices**. Just one suggestion — avoid eating and then going for active water rides immediately, as it might cause a bit of discomfort. For **timings**: * Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM * Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM In the **evening**, the **lighting and night atmosphere** make the place even more beautiful. **How to reach:** Reaching Wonderla is easy. The best way is to take the **metro to Challaghatta (last station)**, and from there, you can easily book a **cab or bike**. The route from Challaghatta is smooth and traffic-free, just about **7 km away**. Overall, it’s a **perfect destination to visit with friends or family**, especially in groups — the fun multiplies! If you love adventure, water rides, and vibrant energy, **Wonderla Bangalore is a must-visit!** 🎢💦🎉

This was my 3rd visit but first time with family and kids. Beautiful park, everyone should visit for fun. Weather was supportive so you could enjoy water games. There's new addition to the park - Mission Interstellar. It was mind blowing. Never experienced before. For all games there's 25% of people with Fast track priority passes are sent in. With Halloween passes, all land games can be played even between 7 pm to 10 pm while games for regular passes are closed by 6 pm. Park timings on weekends is 11 am to 7 pm. Everything is fine except Food. Its totally SCAM. If you buy buffet online vs offline, the prices are different. If you buy Buffet lunch at entrance is 419 while online and inside its 500+. Any food like Fried rice or Noodles with non/veg manchurian and large coke combination is 410/- when you can buy Buffet for same price. The quality of food is pathetic. After spending good time, we felt disappointed with food quality with menu options and with exorbitant prices. I have provided same feedback to ground staff to improve food. Hence reduced the overall ratings.

When we were planning a fun trip for our school children on the occasion of Children’s Day, the first place that came to our minds was Wonderla - a place we knew would bring them the most joy. Since our students come from the ashrama and study in a government-aided school, we reached out to Wonderla to request their support in making this day special. The Wonderla management responded with immense kindness. They wholeheartedly accepted our request and made it possible for more than 45 students to enjoy a fully sponsored day at the park. The children got to experience all the dry rides and water games, enjoying every moment with excitement and laughter. The team ensured personal care throughout the day, organised fun games exclusively for our kids, and treated them to delicious food - making the entire experience unforgettable. We, the teachers of Mahila Mandali Vidya Samaste Kannada Primary, extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Wonderla team for embracing our children with so much love and warmth. The joy, laughter, and memories you created for them will always be cherished. Your generous gesture will forever remain close to our hearts.

Bannerughatta Biological Park

Zoo

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Bannerghatta Zoo, located near Bangalore, Karnataka, is a vast national reserve that offers a perfect dose of awe-inspiring moments for animal lovers. Established in 1970 and declared as a national park in 1974, it has become famous for its close proximity to the city limits and serves as a biological and conservation reserve for animals. The park features a zoo, safari park, butterfly conservatory, animal rescue center, pet corner, aquarium, snake house and ancient temples for worship.
I visited Bannerghatta National Park about a month ago, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. The place has a nice mix of things to do — the zoo, the butterfly park, and of course, the safari. The safari was the highlight for me. We got surprisingly close views of lions, tigers, bears, and herbivores in spacious enclosures that actually feel pretty close to their natural habitat. It’s exciting without being rushed, and you really get good photo moments. The butterfly park is calm and colorful — a perfect little break after the safari. The zoo is quite large with a good variety of animals and birds, though a few enclosures could definitely use better maintenance. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this place for families, kids, or anyone who wants a quick nature-and-wildlife getaway near the city. Just reach early, carry water, and keep a little patience — it makes the whole experience so much better.

A Great Day Out, But With Key Areas for Improvement Bannerghatta Biological Park offers a genuinely wonderful experience for wildlife lovers, making it a fantastic destination for a day trip. The park is vast, and many of the naturalized habitats for the local species are impressive and well-maintained. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, contributing to an overall positive atmosphere. However, a couple of significant issues prevented me from rating this as a perfect five-star experience. Firstly, I was disappointed that some of the highly anticipated major animals, notably the Lion and the Orangutan, were either absent or could not be found in their areas during our visit. This was a notable letdown for key species that many visitors hope to see. More importantly, I observed certain welfare concerns that I hope the park management addresses. Several animals appeared to be kept alone or with a very limited number of mates, which seemed sparse given their social nature. In a few cases, the enclosures seemed smaller than ideal, and I witnessed some animals exhibiting repetitive, stereotypic behaviors (pacing back and forth). This gave the distinct impression that they might be bored, stressed, or depressed due to the lack of space or social stimulation. Ensuring that all animals have adequate companionship and spacious, enriching enclosures is crucial for a park of this stature. Despite these issues, the overall variety of species and the natural beauty of the environment are undeniable. If the park could improve its exhibit list consistency and significantly upgrade the size and social conditions of the enclosures I mentioned, it would easily earn five stars.

Last week, I visited the Biological Zoo with my family. It was a very exciting and memorable trip. We saw many animals like lions, tigers, elephants, deer, giraffes and colorful birds. The best part of our visit was the safari. It was really thrilling to see the wild animals moving freely in the open area. We saw lions and tigers very closely from the safari bus and it felt like a real jungle adventure. The zoo was clean and well maintained. The staff guided us properly and we enjoyed taking many photos and videos together. It was a fun and educational experience for the whole family. I would love to visit again, especially for the safari ride.

Bannerghatta Biological Park is a great place for a family day out. The zoo is well-maintained, with a good variety of animals like lions, tigers, elephants, and reptiles. The safari experience is the highlight — you get to see animals roaming freely in a natural habitat, which feels exciting and safe. Better to pre book tge tickets through online from their official page. Also suggest to visit morning first slot.Walkways are clean, and there are plenty of resting spots and food stalls. Weekends can be crowded, so visiting early morning is best. Overall, a wonderful and educational place for kids and adults.

It was amazing experience we went in the noon at 2:30pm for safari and it was so lively experience and kid will really enjoy this. The safari takes 45min and its amazing experience and the zoo inside there are many caged animals snakes as well. Well maintained and hygienic. Be aware there are mosquitoes be cautioned while takings kids mainly

+ very well maintained + Safari in pre winter monsoon season was too good. All animals were in good mood and curious. Would suggest safari better than the zoo. Of course zoo is a must for reptiles, birds and other herbivores. + Animals well fed and taken care of. Would suggest visiting as soon as they open in the morning. Animals move to the shade in the afternoon.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting this biological park you’ve probably never seen so many animals in one place. The Bannerghatta Biological Park trail is about 2.2 km and takes at least 3 hours to complete. After that spend around 45 minutes at the Butterfly Park. It’s absolutely worth it with family or friends. There’s also a safari option though I didn’t opt for it you can check other reviews for that.
Chetan A — Google review
I recently visited Bannerghatta National Park, and honestly, it felt a bit overhyped. From the photos and reviews, I expected a proper wildlife experience, but in reality, it was more like an average zoo with a bus ride added in. We booked the safari bus since jeeps weren’t available, and that was fine — but the safari itself was quite disappointing. The entire 20–30 minute ride had barely 4–5 types of animals — deer, elephants, leopards, lions, and a small bear. It didn’t feel like we were in a natural habitat at all. The zones were just large fenced areas with a few animals each. For example, you start with deer and elephants, then after passing a gate you reach the leopard zone, where maybe 3–4 leopards can be seen resting near shelters. Same goes for lions and bears. It honestly felt like a zoo with a bus tour instead of walking. After the safari, we went to the zoo area, which was okay but again nothing great. There were only one or two animals of each species — a single giraffe, one tiger, one lion, etc. Variety was there, but it didn’t feel lively or well-maintained. The butterfly park was the best part of the entire visit. The entry fee was ₹50 per person, and it was worth it. The dome area filled with butterflies and greenery looked beautiful and peaceful — definitely the highlight of the day. Overall, Bannerghatta National Park is good for a one-time visit or a short family outing near Bangalore, but if you’re expecting a real safari or wildlife experience, you’ll probably be disappointed.

Nice place to visit. It is a place where you can feel the eternal peace. I visited during 4 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. and saw lighting, alongwith water sprayers. There is a small children park for sliding, swinging. You can sit, have snacks, can do shopping of Sri Sri branded products, and buy ayurvedic medicines with nadi pariksha. 3 to 4 hours is sufficient time to spend if you are going with with family.

HAPPINESS IS FREE. This is a factual review of my experience. First, I was treated with utmost love and respect and kindness by almost every staff member I met here (especially the ones serving the food!). The grounds are pretty, there is a large building being built and the traffic is not *too* loud. I was told I could stay in the accommodations for free and try a course, so I went to speak at the reception (I was also interested in volunteering). I had to fill out several forms and when I was done, I was informed the "Happiness course" was $440 USD. In the USA, that is a lot of money. In India, you could feed a family for a year. It's just a touristy cult/scam that I wouldn't ever return to or recommend to anyone.

Garden
Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bangalore is a historic and expansive garden that originated as a private royal garden spanning 40 acres. Initially designed in Mughal style, it was further developed by Tipu Sultan and later expanded by British and Indian horticulturists. The garden is renowned for its support of agriculture, conservation of plant species, and contribution to the advancement of cultivation.
Very nice Lalbagh is an absolute must-visit if you are in Bengaluru. It truly lives up to its name as the 'Lungs of the City.' The variety of trees and plants is staggering, and the layout is perfect for a long, relaxing walk. Highlights: The Glass House: It’s stunning architecture and makes for great photos. The Lake: Very peaceful to sit by, and I spotted quite a few birds. Cleanliness: The park is well-maintained despite being so popular. I recommend going early in the morning to beat the heat and the crowds. It’s a fantastic spot for photography or just disconnecting from the city traffic. Highly recommended!

A Calming Green Oasis in Bengaluru Lalbagh Botanical Garden offers a decent escape from the city hustle. I had an "OK" experience, largely thanks to the wonderfully calm and fresh environment. If you're looking for a spot with natural bird sounds to truly cool down and relax your mind, this place is highly recommended. It's a true "lung space" for Bengaluru. A major plus was the e-cycle ride, which is a fantastic way to cover the vast garden expanse. The rental seemed to have a flexible pricing, as I saw options for a short ride. I did a ride. We also caught the artificial waterfall near the lake, which operates on a fixed schedule. We saw it running from 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM. It adds a nice, serene touch to the lake area when it's on. My one major feeling was a slight lack of a "zoo" or large animal presence (apart from birds), which I missed—it felt more like a purely botanical experience rather than a nature park with diverse wildlife. However, for a botanical garden, all the basic amenities and facilities are well-maintained. Conclusion ; If you are in Bengaluru, it's definitely worth a visit for a peaceful, nature-filled break and a lovely walk or cycle ride.

Recently visited here — it’s a beautiful and refreshing place to connect with nature. The garden is huge, and it’s quite hard to cover the entire area within an hour. You’ll find ancient, massive trees and a wide variety of plant species, making it a paradise for nature lovers. The garden is well-maintained, with benches for sitting, trash bins placed throughout, and washroom and drinking water facilities available inside. There are also food stalls, a fountain area, and a poly house that add to the experience. The entry fee is ₹50 for adults and ₹20 for children. Plastic bottles are not allowed, which helps keep the place clean. I also visited the nursery, though it was closed due to a festive occasion. It’s a great spot for families, couples, or anyone looking for peace amidst greenery. The calm atmosphere and natural beauty truly make you feel one with nature. 🌿🌸

An Absolute Oasis of Tranquility and Beauty! Lalbagh Botanical Garden is more than just a garden; it's the green heart of Bangalore and a true breath of fresh air amidst the city's hustle. This is easily one of the most stunning botanical experiences I've ever had, deserving every one of its five stars. The sheer scale and diversity of the flora are breathtaking. You could spend hours wandering the perfectly manicured lawns and discovering exotic plant species. The iconic Glass House is a magnificent architectural marvel, especially when bathed in sunlight, and the massive Lalbagh Rock offers a fantastic view and a quiet spot for reflection. The maintenance is impeccable—everything is clean, well-labeled, and thoughtfully arranged. Whether you're a serious botanist, a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful escape, Lalbagh caters to all. It’s a perfect spot for morning walks, family picnics, or simply relaxing under the shade of ancient trees. Don't miss the flower shows if you time your visit right! Highly, highly recommended.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is one of those rare places in Bangalore where time slows down and the city noise fades into the background. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by lush greenery, towering trees, and beautifully maintained pathways that make every step feel refreshing. The star attraction, of course, is the iconic Glass House, which looks stunning whether you visit in the quiet mornings or during the flower shows. The variety of plants—from vibrant flowers to rare species—adds so much charm, and you can easily spend hours exploring different corners without even realizing it. What I love most is the peaceful vibe. Whether you're going for a morning walk, photography, or just a break from daily routine, Lalbagh never disappoints. The lake inside the garden is another calming spot, perfect for sitting by the water and watching birds. It can get slightly crowded on weekends, but the garden is big enough to always find a quiet nook for yourself. The entry fee is minimal, and the overall experience feels priceless compared to the serenity you get. Overall, Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a must-visit—beautiful, calming, and truly refreshing. A little green paradise right in the heart of Bangalore.

The museum has multiple floors with exhibits on space, mechanics, biology, engines, electricity, and more. What I really liked was the hands-on approach — you can touch, try, and experience how things work. The Science on a Sphere and engine sections were especially impressive. Some parts of the museum feel a bit old, but overall it's well-maintained and informative. I spent a good 2–3 hours here, and it was totally worth it. ✅ Great for kids, students, and families ✅ Interactive and educational ✅ Reasonable entry fee 🚗 Parking is limited, better to come by auto or metro Definitely recommended if you're in Bengaluru and want to do something different and meaningful!

I recently visited the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum and absolutely loved the experience! The entry ticket was just ₹95, and it was totally worth it. The museum is packed with fun, educational, and interactive exhibits across science, technology, and innovation. From space and robotics to engines and biology, every floor had something fascinating to explore. It’s perfect for curious minds of all ages. I spent hours there and still felt like there was more to see. A must-visit spot in Bangalore if you love science or just want a fun and informative outing!

Established in 1870, it covers an impressive 300 acres of lush greenery and is often referred to as the "lungs of Bengaluru." The park features well-maintained walking paths, beautifully landscaped gardens, and play areas for visitors to enjoy.
This park is one of the most beautiful destinations to visit with family and friends. Spread across a vast area and shaded by thousands of lush green trees, it offers a refreshing escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Recently, I visited Cubbon Park in Bangalore, and it turned out to be a refreshing escape from the city’s chaos. Spread across around 300 acres, this lush green paradise is truly the “lungs” of the city. The moment I entered, I was welcomed by tall trees, fresh air, and the sound of birds — a rare treat in a busy metro. The good part is definitely the peaceful atmosphere. You’ll see joggers, cyclists, families, and even pet lovers enjoying their time here. The park is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of benches to sit and relax. The State Central Library with its iconic red building inside the park adds a classic charm — perfect spot for photos. It’s also very safe and ideal for morning walks or evening strolls. However, there are a few downsides too. Parking can be a headache on weekends, and sometimes the park gets overcrowded. In a few corners, you might also spot people littering, which slightly ruins the beauty of the place. The park opens from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and I’d suggest the best time to visit is early morning between 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM — when it’s calm, less crowded, and the weather feels amazing. Overall, Cubbon Park is a must-visit for nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone looking to take a break from Bangalore’s traffic and noise.

🌿 Sri Chamarajendra Park (Cubbon Park) – A Peaceful Morning Escape in the Heart of Bengaluru! 🌿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I visited Sri Chamarajendra Park (ಶ್ರೀ ಚಾಮರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನ) early in the morning, and it was such a refreshing and peaceful experience. The air felt crisp, the surroundings were calm, and the chirping of birds created a serene atmosphere that made the walk truly rejuvenating. 🕊️ The park is beautifully maintained with lush green lawns, huge old trees providing shade, and wide walking trails perfect for a morning jog or stroll. 🌳 There were also a few playful and friendly dogs around, adding to the park’s lively charm. 🐶 What I loved most was how peaceful it felt despite being right in the center of the city — a perfect balance between nature and urban life. Whether you’re looking to start your day with some calm, spend quiet time amidst greenery, or just enjoy a slow walk with nature, Cubbon Park is the ideal spot. 🌸 ✅ Clean, spacious, pet-friendly, and full of positive energy — a must-visit for nature lovers in Bengaluru!

Perfect Place to Unwind with Friends Cubbon Park 🌿✨ We recently visited Cubbon Park as a group of friends, and it turned into one of those days that you just don’t want to end! The park is a green paradise right in the middle of Bangalore, filled with tall trees, walking paths, and open spaces that make you forget you’re still in the city. The place is very well maintained clean paths, shady spots to relax, and plenty of benches around. We saw families picnicking, people jogging, kids playing, and even pet owners out for walks it has such a calm and refreshing vibe. The cool breeze and greenery make it a perfect escape for both morning and evening visits. 🌳 We had a great time just walking, laughing, clicking photos, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. There’s so much space that even with a crowd, it never feels packed. You can simply sit under a tree, read, or just enjoy nature and good company. A few nice touches: • Dog-friendly 🐾 saw many happy pups running around! • Toilets available and decently maintained. • Playing cards aren’t allowed helps keep the vibe calm and family-friendly. Overall, Cubbon Park is one of the best spots in Bangalore to relax, recharge, and connect whether with friends, family, or just yourself. The best park in Bangalore. Ample space to sit and relax. A lot of people come in to walk, run, play some fun games. Most bring their sheets to sit and spend quality time with their friends and families. Must visit.

Such a peaceful place to spend your weekend with friends and family. You can see a lot of people there but still you will get that privacy for enjoying a good time with your baby or your loved ones. There are some do's and dont's mentioned in the front area like no outside food, no playing, no gathering of more than 20 people etc so read before you enter. No entrance fee. Paid parking is there.

The ISKCON temple in Bangalore, located in Rajaji Nagar, is a magnificent tribute to Lord Krishna. The temple was built on a 7-acre campus and took 6 years to complete. Designed by Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, the architecture features a stunning 17-meter gold-plated flag post and 8.5-meter gold Kalash Shikaras. Situated on Hare Krishna Hill, the temple's Neo-Classical style blends modern amenities with traditional design.
ISKCON Temple in Bengaluru is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The best part is the Harinaama Dwara — before entering the main temple, you take 108 steps, and before each step, you chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. It feels very pure and peaceful while doing that. Before entering the main temple of Shri Krishna, just take a moment to enjoy the breeze, calmness, and the amazing city view — it feels really soothing. The temple is clean and well managed with cloakrooms, shoe counters, and parking. There’s also a metro station that connects directly to the temple premises, which makes it easy to reach. While exiting, make sure to try the sweets — they’re very tasty and worth it. Overall, a wonderful and divine experience.

I’m from Tamil Nadu, and for almost 3 years I had a deep wish to visit the ISKCON Temple in Bangalore. Finally, life gave me the chance—and the moment I stepped in, it truly felt divine. The temple is beautiful, calm, and peaceful beyond words. The architecture, the chants, and the positive energy around make it a perfect place to find inner peace. The environment is very well maintained, and the devotees are humble and welcoming. You can feel a sense of calmness the moment you enter. It’s not just a temple—it’s an experience that touches your heart. 💫 Very beautiful and peaceful temple — everyone must visit this place at least once in their life. 🙏🤍😇

It was a truly mesmerising day when I decided to visit the ISKCON temple over the weekend. As I approached the temple, I could feel the spiritual energy enveloping the atmosphere, despite the crowd of devotees that had gathered. The intricate architecture of the white temple stood out beautifully against the blue sky, and the sounds of chanting filled the air, creating a serene yet lively ambience. Inside, the aroma of fresh flowers and incense wafted through the halls, enhancing the sacred experience. People of all ages were engaged in prayer and meditation, their faces reflecting a deep sense of peace and devotion. I found solace in the rhythmic chants and the uplifting energy that pervaded the space. The sense of community among the visitors was palpable, and I felt connected to something much larger than myself. It was a day filled with tranquillity and a profound sense of purity, making me grateful for the opportunity to be there.

Nice place to worship Lord Krishna. Very well connected with metro and Bengaluru buses. In temple, darshan facilities, food & water facilities are good. Overall very good arrangements, cleanliness and nice experience. Only thing is no special feeling. It's like visiting any other temple. Maybe because temple is surrounded by big buildings; so not giving that divine vibes where we tries to connect with God with peace.

I recently visited the ISKCON Temple in Bengaluru, and honestly, it left me feeling peaceful and refreshed in a way I didn’t expect. The moment you walk in, the calmness just hits you. The place is beautifully built, super clean, and has this soothing atmosphere that makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. The sound of “Hare Krishna” chants playing continuously in the background creates such a positive vibe — it’s something you actually feel, not just hear. The evening aarti was easily the best part of my visit. Watching it in person, with the lights, music, and devotion in the air, felt incredibly grounding and comforting. The whole temple is very well managed, and the volunteers are genuinely kind and helpful — something you really appreciate when the place is this busy. There’s also a prasadam hall, a food court with really tasty sattvic food, and a nice little shop with books and souvenirs. Everything is neatly maintained and adds to the overall experience. If you’re in Bengaluru, I’d say this is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss. Whether you’re going for prayer, peace, or just to see something beautiful, you’ll walk out with a lighter heart and a calmer mind.

This place is serene and calm atmosphere to enlighten the spiritual experience within you. It is well connected with all public transport as it is located in the heart of the city. If you're driving a four wheeler then parking charges of 40 rupees collected. You shall easily spend an hour or three including the shopping of artifacts and other devotional items inside the temple premises. Multiple vaishnavaite deities are present here. Everything is maintained near and clean. An artificial waterfall and a lake add more charm to this place. This place is getting upgraded with more infrastructure as the construction is going on as well.

The devotees and staff are polite, helpful, and always ready to guide visitors. The prasadam served here is delicious and prepared with great care. There are also small shops where you can buy books, souvenirs, and devotional items. Whether you are looking for peace, spirituality, or simply a pleasant place to spend time, the ISKCON Temple is a wonderful choice. It is a very spiritual and peaceful place. A very good temple to visit with family and friends. The atmosphere is divine and gives a positive energy. Some suggestions for improvement: Currently, the entry fees are accepted only in cash. It would be better if they start accepting UPI or digital payments, as it is convenient for many visitors. Also, they often ask for exact change, which is difficult sometimes. In case of emergencies, it would be good if the management allows devotees to exit easily. For example, one parent’s kid was crying but they did not allow them to leave quickly and insisted on following the full queue. Since they are collecting entry fees, they should provide better services and facilities for devotees. Some of the management staff have a rude attitude, which can be improved to make devotees feel more welcomed. Overall, it is a must-visit spiritual place, but these small improvements can make the experience even better.

Heard about this place a lot so went on 5th oct 25 with family. The parking area was covered but still slushy due to overnight rains. We had to wade through the slush. Though entry fee was rupees 20 but no staff was available hence we entered free. The temple was maintained well. The siva lingams were placed in a orderly manner and pathway was built to access all the lingams. On the biggest lingam honeybees have built their honeycomb. Photo attached. Anyone can keep a lingam in their name after paying rupees 8000 for small one, 35000 for a bigger one and more than a lac for giant size siva lingam. A small pooja will be conducted then a space is allotted for your lingam. Drawback was they do not accept gpay or credit card or debit card only cash. This issue needs to be addressed by the temple authorities. They should not expect devotees to bring this much amount of cash. Infact for using toilet facilities the person collects rupees 5 per head via gpay though the toilet was nasty. The authorities must reign up the contractor. Overall a must visit place but take good amount of cash if you want to keep a lingam there.
Balasubramanian N — Google review
Worthy of a one time visit only. Lots of various hindu deities within the complex, beside the 'koti' (meaning crore/ten million) shivlings spread across the place. Serene and peaceful yet this place is by no means a temple for offering prayers. It's clearly made out to be more of a tourist attraction. Starting from paid parking, entry fee of ₹20/- per person, directed visitors in a sequence to confront various hindu deities where the pujari's give you extra attention if one offers money. Better yet, these 'pujaris' coax every visiting individual to 'offer' money for 'blessings'. If one doesn't give/offer money, they grumble and show a care less attitude. Personally dissappointed and not likely to visit this place ever again. I reiterate, this place is more of a tourist attraction, not exactly a place of worship. Accordingly, go mentally prepared when visiting this place.

Temple is very good. Road is also nice to drive if you by Bangalore-Chennai expressway. The only thing which I did not like was at the entrance many transgenders who would demand money from everyone. Other thing is unnecessary forcing people through all the small temples in a queue. Rest all things are very nice and energy there is astonishing. Pujari told there was Brihma temple as well which is second only after Pushkar ji.

Kotilingeshwara Temple, located in Kamasandra near Kolar (about 90 km from Bangalore), is a unique and significant spiritual site. The name "Kotilingeshwara" translates to "Lord of a Crore (10 million) Lingas", symbolizing devotion and the massive scale of the temple's spiritual ambition. The main attraction is the 108-foot-tall Shiva Linga, one of the tallest in the world, accompanied by a 35-foot Nandi statue. Surrounding it are over 90 lakh (9 million) small Shivalingas, installed by devotees over the years. According to a priest there, around 10 lakh more need to be installed to reach the goal of 1 crore (10 million) Lingas, which is the temple's namesake and vision. The temple complex also houses shrines for many other deities such as Ganesha, Hanuman, Annapoorneshwari, Vishnu, and others, making it a multi-deity pilgrimage spot. That said, the experience feels over-commercialized. There's a mandatory ₹20 entrance fee, and almost every shrine has people expecting or insisting on donations, even for a simple darshan. Especially at the Annapoorneshwari shrine, visitors are pressured to donate ₹100 or ₹200 in exchange for a packet of vibhuti, which many may find forceful or inappropriate. Overall, it’s a fascinating temple to visit for its scale and symbolism, but be prepared for repeated donation requests and a very money-minded environment.

Recently visited the place early morning from Bangalore, the road is so good for a road trip. The timing of temple opening mentioned on google is wrong, it doesn’t open at 6 am it does at 7:30 am so plan your travel accordingly. There is ample parking space around the temple, footwear stands are available and some local shops around the temple. The entry ticket is Rs 20 per adult, kids below six years have free entry. The temple allows only traditional dress code for men and women, and phones are allowed inside the temple premises. There are many small temples inside of different deities along with all the lingams. There are many temple area is huge and takes at least an hour to visit fully. The views are mesmerising and definitely worth visiting at least once in your lifetime!

Nestled at the foothills of Nandi Hills near Chikkaballapur, Grover Zampa Vineyards is a gem in India's wine landscape, established in 1988. This picturesque vineyard benefits from unique soil and climate conditions that nurture both local and international grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Visitors can embark on an enlightening tour led by knowledgeable guides who share insights into the intricate winemaking process.
Had a wonderful time at Grover Zampa Vineyards. If anyone is keen to learn the process of making wine, do visit. The tour included the process of wine making and tasting 6 different varieties of wine. Peaceful and calm place. 🍷

This place is situated near Nandi Hills. Great location and sceneries are really beautiful. We can do wine tasting here. If they have a system to check whether you are over 21+ for wine testing, it would have been a smooth process. Plan your visit during grapes season to see the grapes. Otherwise they will not allow. If you ask me the cost is more for just seeing the winery process. It is not a big area they are covering.

Sri Bhoga Nandishwara Gudi

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Sri Bhoga Nandishwara Gudi is a Hindu temple complex that dates back to the 9th century CE and is located approximately 21 km from the city center. Constructed in the Dravidian style, it is known for its ornate carved pillars and a reflecting pool. Despite some neglect from the government, this cultural treasure stands in great shape, showcasing amazing aspects of Hindu heritage.
After our visit to Nandi Hills, we made our way to the Bhoga Nandishwara Temple, and it was truly a remarkable experience! This ancient temple, believed to have been built around 800 CE, is a stunning testament to historical architecture. The temple grounds are expansive, allowing plenty of space to explore. As you approach, the massive entry gate immediately captures your attention, setting the tone for the grandeur within. The intricate stone carvings throughout the temple are absolutely breathtaking, showcasing the skill and artistry of the craftsmen from centuries ago. One of the highlights is the presence of two identical Shivalingas, which adds to the spiritual significance of the site. We also found the Navaraga Mandapa, which seems like a venue for various devotional or social activities—it's a beautiful space that enhances the temple's communal atmosphere. Inside the temple complex, there is a large kund, though public access is restricted. However, we enjoyed the lovely garden surrounding the temple, which adds to its charm. There’s also a smaller kund outside where visitors are allowed, but unfortunately, the water quality wasn't great. Overall, Bhoga Nandishwara Temple is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, or spirituality. The serene environment and rich heritage make it a perfect complement to a day spent in Nandi Hills. Highly recommended!

An historical temple also still functional. Beautiful architecture is an understatement. A must visit place when you are visiting Nandhi hills. They do allow marriage ceremony to take place in the temple premises. Most of the structure are getting damaged due to lack of proper security and government negligence I hope they will do something to maintain this beautiful temple.

The Bhoga Nandishwara Temple, built around 800 CE, is a historical architectural marvel with intricate stone carvings and expansive grounds. It features two Shivalingas and a Navaraga Mandapa for devotional activities. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the oldest surviving Nolambavadi-style Dravidian architecture in Karnataka, where Shiva and Parvati are together.

🌿 Sri Bhoganandishwara Temple – A Timeless Gem Near Nandi Hills 🌿 Sri Bhoganandishwara Gudi is one of the most beautiful and peaceful temples I have ever visited. Located near the base of Nandi Hills, this ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is truly an architectural masterpiece. The stone carvings, intricate pillars, and serene courtyards reflect the glorious craftsmanship of the Chola and Vijayanagara dynasties. The atmosphere here is divine and calm — perfect for meditation and prayer. The temple is very well maintained and surrounded by lush greenery, giving it a natural charm. There’s also a beautiful pond and smaller shrines within the complex that add to its spiritual ambience. It’s a great place for both devotees and history lovers. Vijayanagara era Shri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Ancient Hindu temple with Vijayanagara-style architecture & a range of carvings & paintings.
Beautiful temple, architecture, hanging pillar, rockcut carvings and artistry, unfinished Mandapam, stone-carved dining area, and excellent pooja performed by the pandits explained the story of Shri Veerabhadra Swamy as well as beautiful Durga maa deities, among other things. There are two large monolithic structures inside and around the temple. One is Sheh Naag inside the temple, and the other is Nandi about 400-500 meters away from the temple, watching Lord Shiva. The temple is well-maintained, but I recommend going early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the heat, as there is not much shade in the area. Parking is easy, and there are a few local restaurants nearby if you want to sample some authentic Andhra cuisine after your visit. The hanging pillar and the massive Nandi statue nearby are truly breathtaking and provide excellent photo opportunities. Approximately 100 kilometres from Bengaluru/Bangalore. A day can easily be spent in Lepakshi. Nandi Maharaj's grand statue, Jatayu theme park, which offers hiking and beautiful views from the top, and Shree Veerbhadra Swamy Temple. They are situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The access roads are in great condition. The locals are friendly and maintain a positive atmosphere. It is an ancient temple with its own unique visuals. The architecture, fine carvings of various Gods and Goddesses everywhere, and stories carved and painted on the walls reveal a great deal about our own culture, roots, and traditions. The atmosphere among fellow devotees is soothing. There are numerous places to sit, relax, meditate, discuss, and allow children to play.

The first time I felt a connection with my heritage was at this place. It's so mesmerizing and I am proud to be a part of such a rich culture. Thid Ancient temples is revered as historical and spiritual site, showcasing intricate architecture, rich symbolism, and a connection to religious and cultural heritage. It is known for its unique architectural styles, carvings, and the stories it hold. Visitors often describe it as place of peace, beauty, and profound spiritual experiences.

The Lepakshi is a perfect blend of spirituality, history, and architectural brilliance. Every corner of the temple is filled with intricate carvings that tell stories from mythology, and the craftsmanship is simply outstanding. The most fascinating feature is the hanging pillar, which stands slightly above the ground – a true architectural marvel that leaves every visitor in awe. Many try passing a cloth or paper beneath it just to experience the wonder! The temple also has beautiful murals, massive Nandi, and an atmosphere that feels both divine and serene. Whether you are a devotee, a history lover, or a traveler, Lepakshi is a place that will leave you inspired and amazed.

A historical temple built in Vijaynagar style. Intricate rock carvings adorn the entire temple complex which has manin Veerbhadra temple, a Shivling and a Shri Ganesh statue. This all is buil from rock, mostly single piece carving. On the walls you can see Ramayan, Samudra Manthan, and daily life of king's court, dance, etc. Beautifully carved. The world famous hanging pillar is an architectural marvel. Tourist are seen passing a thin cloth under it without getting stuck. Parking is limited, pay and free. Toilets available but in ok shape. Drinking water available near garden. Good for 1 day trip from Bengaluru. Government must take some steps to stop encroachment of area near the temple as some 'peaceful community' pests have tried encroaching near the boundary wall. Their children deface the compund every now and then.

We can still see evidence of the authenticity of the Ramayana here today. In the Ramayana's Treta Yuga, the Jatayu dev intercepted Ravana after he abducted Mother Sita. Ravana subsequently killed the Jatayu dev, who then came here in a frozen condition. It is located 100 km from Bangalore, which you can reach within 2-3 hours from there. You can get the facilities of both train or bus, To come here, you can come from Hindupur and take an auto or bus to Lepakshi Temple, which is located 15 km away. Here you will be amazed by the alphabets, pictures, designs, and various crafts carved on the stones in the temple. Moreover, the hanging pillars here are very famous. Photos of the main temple Even though video recording is prohibited, you can easily capture your moments outdoors with your camera. There is a huge footprint here, believed by many to be that of Mother Sita. In addition, traces of ancient architecture are still visible today. Outside the temple, you will find the palace, toilets, and parking facilities. You can enter the temple from two sides.

I drove from Bangalore to visit Lepakshi Temple, and it was absolutely worth the trip! The drive itself was smooth and scenic, and reaching the temple felt like stepping back in time. The architecture and carvings are stunning—especially the hanging pillar and the giant Nandi statue, which are a must-see. The temple complex is peaceful, not overly crowded, and gives you plenty of time to soak in the history and beauty. It’s a great spot for a one-day trip from Bangalore if you enjoy history, culture, and a bit of road travel. Overall, a wonderful experience that I’d definitely recommend!

Lepakshi Temple, officially the 16th‑century Veerabhadra Swamy Temple, stands on Kurmasaila (“tortoise hill”) near the Karnataka–Andhra Pradesh border and showcases the pinnacle of Vijayanagara‑era architecture . Its verdant setting, intricate frescoes, gravity‑defying hanging pillar, and one of India’s largest monolithic Nandi statues combine to create an unforgettable cultural and spiritual experience. This place is accessible via a short detour from National Highway 44 . Ample parking is available for cars and buses at a nominal fee (around ₹80), which also covers entry to the nearby Jatayu Theme Park—simply retain your receipt to avoid double paying . Weekday mornings tend to be the least crowded, offering quieter exploration of the complex No formal entry fee applies to the temple itself, but the combined parking charge is well‑spent given the site’s historical importance and maintained facilities . Carry water, hats, and sunscreen, especially if visiting between April and June, when temperatures can soar . Guides and local priests often offer insightful commentary on the temple’s iconography for a small donation—highly recommended for first‑time visitors . Among the temple’s 70 exquisitely carved granite pillars stands the famed “hanging pillar,” which leaves a small gap—just enough to slip paper or cloth underneath—between its base and the floor, baffling architects for centuries. Local legend attributes this marvel to divine intervention, while scientific surveys have marveled at the precision of its load‑distribution design .

The Ancient Vijayanagara era Lepakshi Nandi is a remarkable monolithic sculpture of a seated bull, the vehicle of Lord Shiva, carved out of a single piece of granite. Located near the Veerabhadra Temple in Lepakshi, it stands as one of India's largest such sculptures at 4.5 meters tall and 8.23 meters long. Visitors can take memorable photos next to this impressive structure and marvel at its grandeur.
A great place to visit. We had a wonderful trip to Lepaski from Bangalore. If you are in Bangalore, it is only a 2.5-hour drive. It is a must-see location if you are looking for historical temples and architecture. The Lepakshi temple's most famous sculpture is the massive Nandi (bull) statue, which was carved from a single block of stone. It is huge. Surrounded by lush green grass and a well-maintained garden.

Visited Lepakshi today – overall a great experience. The temple architecture is stunning and rich in history. Not very crowded, which made it peaceful and easy to explore without any rush. Ideal for those interested in photography, heritage sites, or just a calm weekend ride. However, toilet facilities are a major drawback. Clean restrooms are hard to find nearby, especially for families or long stays. Would recommend carrying essentials and planning accordingly

Belum Caves

Mentioned on

Caverns & Caves
Belum Caves, located on the Indian subcontinent, offers a remarkable experience with its vast underground cave system adorned with geological formations and artificial lighting. The site boasts the largest and longest cave system open to the public in India, featuring long passages, galleries and spacious caverns that occasionally contain fresh water. Visitors are advised to bring a torch or headlamp for better visibility as sticky mud may cause footwear loss. Additionally, one should carry water bottles due to stuffiness inside causing excessive sweating.
Amazing natural wonder not to be missed. Best part is the good maintenance and upkeep of the caves that is focused on the visitor. The lighting is very apt so that the paths are visible and does not take away the cave exploration experience that too much lighting might have done. The colorful lights add to the ambience of the cave system. The paths are clearly indicated with signs at appropriate locations. The huge entrance, numerable pathways, stalagmites formations, the spring at the depth of 151 feet is a must visit. Ample parking space, toilets and a cafe are other useful facilities at the location.
Prashanth V — Google review
Visited Belum Caves, and it was an incredible experience! These natural limestone caves are truly a hidden gem in Andhra Pradesh. The formations inside are absolutely fascinating — from the "Thousand Hoods" to the Musical Chamber, every part of the cave had something unique to offer. One of my favorite spots was the Meditation Hall, which gave a peaceful and almost spiritual vibe. Walking through the long, winding passages felt like stepping back in time. The Patalaganga stream deep inside the cave was another highlight — it's amazing how water still flows there! The temperature inside was a bit warm and humid, so it’s best to wear light clothes and carry water. I also appreciated how well-maintained the place was, with guides and signboards helping visitors understand the cave’s history and geology. If you love nature, adventure, or just want to explore something offbeat, I highly recommend visiting Belum Caves. It’s one of those places that make you appreciate how mysterious and powerful nature can be.
TARLAPALLY M — Google review
This is known to be the second largest cave, and it's truly a remarkable place to visit if you enjoy exploring natural wonders. Parking is available for a fee, and the site is fairly well-managed. Inside the cave, the formations are stunning, but be prepared for a long walk. The path can be slippery and muddy in parts in some areas, the mud can even cover half your leg, so wear appropriate footwear and tread carefully. It's also hot and humid inside, which adds to the sense of adventure. The entry and exit are through the same point, and you're free to click as many photos as you'd like. There’s also a professional photographer available inside if you're interested in getting a photo taken. Some parts of the cave are well-lit, while a few sections are slightly dark, adding to the cave's natural mystery. I personally loved the experience. A must-visit for cave enthusiasts and adventure seekers!
Chindu M — Google review
Belum Caves is undoubtedly one of India’s most fascinating natural wonders — a long stretch of underground limestone formations that really show how incredible nature can be. However, the experience itself leaves a lot to be desired in terms of management and basic facilities. First and foremost, carry sufficient cash for your tickets and small expenses. The online network here is extremely poor, and most of the time, the QR or digital payment systems simply don’t work. Many visitors are left struggling at the counter trying to make UPI payments that don’t go through. Once inside, there’s drinking water available, which is good because you’ll need it — the cave is very humid and warm as you go deeper inside. It can get quite uncomfortable after a while, so wearing light clothes and good footwear helps. You’ll also notice quite a few bats in some sections — they don’t really bother you, but it can be unsettling for some visitors. Sadly, the signage inside the caves is minimal and confusing. There are long stretches without any clear direction or information, so you’re often left guessing which way to go or what you’re looking at. To make things worse, no guides are available, which is a real disappointment because a place this unique deserves proper storytelling and supervision. Facilities outside are in poor shape — there are no functioning toilets, and the nearby restaurant has been closed for some time. AP Tourism really needs to step up its management here, as the infrastructure is not up to the mark for what could easily be a top-tier tourist attraction. The surroundings are quite empty, with very few visitors, which gives it a deserted feel. On the way from the parking area to the ticketing counter, you’ll also find a few beggars, which is unfortunate and adds to the sense of neglect. Overall, while the caves themselves are extraordinary and worth seeing once for their sheer natural beauty and geological importance, the poor upkeep, lack of amenities, and absence of guidance make it a place you visit more for curiosity than comfort. With better management, Belum Caves could truly shine as one of Andhra Pradesh’s best natural attractions — but as of now, go prepared, go patient, and definitely go with cash in hand.

Very good experience. All family members enjoyed it. Government is maintaining it well. Lights and fans are kept in good spots so that there is a balance of natural and comfort while exploring the caves. But, many visitors are spoiling it by throwing empty water bottles and footwear everywhere. Plan to go in shorts as there is a lot of clay mud on the way and should walk without any footwear (maybe this depends on the weather when you go).

Belum Caves are a breathtaking natural wonder, offering an unforgettable adventure experience. Located in Andhra Pradesh, these caves are the second-largest in the Indian subcontinent, stretching over 3,229 meters in length and 120 meters in depth. The caves feature stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations, spacious chambers, and ancient carvings of Lord Buddha and Jain saints. Marvel at the unique stalactite and stalagmite structures, including the mesmerizing 16-row maze and the Saptasvarala Guha, a musical chamber where limestone formations produce musical sounds when tapped. Discover remnants of ancient civilizations, including Buddhist and Jain monks who occupied the caves centuries ago. The Archaeological Survey of India has found evidence of human habitation dating back to 4500 BC.Explore the labyrinthine passages, galleries, and caverns, and venture into the depths of the caves, including the Patalganga, a perennial underground stream. Plan your visit during the light summer season (July to September) to avoid extreme temperatures. carry water, and avoid visiting during rainy seasons when the caves can be muddy and slippery.
Adhipa R — Google review
The geological formations are truly unique. Inside the caves, it can get very hot and humid, so it’s best to be prepared. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to explore the caves fully. After the visit, you can rest outside—there are proper seating arrangements and shaded areas under trees, which offer a nice break. There’s also a small snack outlet nearby. And yes, the deeper sections of the cave can feel a little scary—but that just adds to the adventure! Entry is ticketed, and there’s ample parking space available. The restroom facilities were good, and the lady managing them kindly helped us store our luggage. While food options nearby are limited, you can find a few small outlets along the way. They've made a lot of things in terms of ventilation and lighting, but many of these systems are now malfunctioning or have completely broken down due to prolonged neglect and lack of maintenance.

Yaganti temple is very old and historical temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside the Garbhagruha, if closely observed, you can see both Uma (Parvathi) and Maheswara (Shiva) images on Lingam, thats why the name Uma Maheswara. We can touch the Lingam if we take special ticket for abhishekam and perform the abhishekam with our own hands. Inside the temple is very calm and peaceful, we can even do the meditation. There is a water pond inside the temple where the water flow continuously, not sure where it comes from. The main attraction of the temple is the Basavanna (Bull), who is growing every year. There are many historical caves around this temple, Dont miss to visit them.

Caverns & Caves
Akkamahadevi caves are a must-visit in Srisailam, offering an adventurous experience. Accessible via motor boats from Srisailam's Pathala Ganga, the caves are located about 5 kilometers off the Hyderabad-Srisailam Road. Visitors can board a basket boat to reach the caves through a lush green river route. The journey takes about 4 hours round trip, with boat travel lasting around 1-1.5 hours.
This place is really fantastic. Never seen such caves formation anywhere else. Very unique and relaxed trip. The boat ride is really good. It takes approximately 2 hours boat ride to reach the caves. Must visit place if you are visiting Srisailam. Charges: ₹650/person. But it's totally worth

One of the must-visit places when you're in Srisailam. It's hard to describe the experience — from the moment the journey began, it was a visual treat with breathtaking views throughout. The caves are naturally formed and truly fantastic. The place is calm and peaceful.

One of the historical place at Sreesailam. It is believed that the famous 12th century philosopher and lyricist from Karnataka, Akka Mahadevi did penance and offered prayers to a Shivalingam that was naturally existent deep inside the very same cave. The trip is being operated from pathalaganga by APTDC. you need to be there before 9.30 AM,First you had to take tickets for the ropeway and they will ask if you are going to akkamahadevi caves they will write your name and have to give how much members are accompanied with us. You will be taken to the river bank by rope way, from there we had to wait to take ticketst for boating towards the cave. Had to give adhar number & mobile number of the booking person there . Almost 10.30 they will allow to enter the boat.. It takes almost one hour journey through krishna river to reach the cave. During boat ride, we could enjoy the nature, green hills and river (Krishna). The guide is none other than the person who drives the boat and takes us inside the cave and briefs about the cave. You need to bend and crawl inside the cave as the height is short inside. You could see sacred Shiva Linga inside the caves as water drops from the top fells over the linga as it is considered as natural dhara (stream)and you could touch linga and pray. This is where akka mahadevi did her meditation to win over lord shiva. It takes almost a half day , so had to keep enough food & water .

Great experience with the place and follow the instructions from the guide and visit the temple. Above 100kg or fatty persons are unable to go inside the cave because it is very small and unable to breathe if more than one person enters into it And try to avoid carrying the children's age below 4 yr's into the caves. Because they are unable to breathe inside the caves. Thank you.

The journey to the caves is relaxing and scenic. The caves in themselves have an aura of stillness and calm. Have the darshana of the linga within. The mystic saint Akkamahadevi meditated at this spot and it's evident why. A must see if you visit Srisailam.

The Akkamahadevi Caves' history is intertwined with the 12th-century saint and philosopher Akka Mahadevi, a prominent figure in the Veerashaiva Bhakti movement. The caves, located in the Nallamalai Hills of Kurnool, are believed to be where she performed penance and worshipped a naturally occurring Shivalingam deep within the main cave. While the caves are naturally formed and have ancient geological origins, their significance is rooted in this religious and spiritual connection to Akka Mahadevi. The Caves and Akka Mahadevi Akka Mahadevi: The 12th-century poet and philosopher, Akka Mahadevi, was a leader of the Veerashaiva Bhakti movement, a spiritual quest focused on devotion to Lord Shiva. Penance: According to legend, Akka Mahadevi performed deep meditation and penance in these very caves, worshipping a naturally formed Shivalingam. Spiritual Journey: The caves are located in Kadali, the area near Srisailam, where her spiritual journey culminated in her union with Shiva. Geological and Historical Significance Ancient Formation: The caves themselves are naturally formed rock caves, considered to be of prehistoric or even ancient age. Geographical Marvel: The main cave features a naturally formed, unsupported rock arch, a geological wonder that draws visitors. Location: They are situated in the Nallamalai Hills, near the upstream of the Krishna River, and are part of the Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve. Modern Day Pilgrimage Site: The caves are a significant pilgrimage destination, attracting tourists and devotees. Narrow Entrance: To reach the Shivalingam, visitors must enter a cramped, dark tunnel, sometimes requiring them to crawl, adding to the cave's unique experience. Forest Surroundings: The area is surrounded by a highly biodiverse forest, offering a rich ecological experience along with the spiritual one.
