Dhyanalinga has been created as a very powerful presence so that the vignanamaya kosha or etheric body of a person is touched just by being in its sphere. Well, big land converted to a religious place having Lor Shiva's statue 🙏 but other than the statue, it is just a place where you can enjoy some food, have shower, and see bullock cart. Lastly a Dome, also called Dhyanlinga where you can sit and meditate. It can also be done at home for people who don't know. Try this, go back home and close your eyes, empty your mind and call upon whoever you worship. God is within you. They have SAVE SOIL slogan and they love animals. There is bullock cart in 50° degrees carrying passengers from one place to the other. I mean we have battery cars and golf cars but they love animals and want them to know that they are loved deeply. Lets make these poor animals carry 9 people at once under the 50° degree sun. Touche! Tradition can be supported with technology too, we don't need to harm animals this way. We could barely walk in the sun and these poor animals were carrying so many people. God forgive these people who are doing this to animals 🙏 BATH FACILITY - We had shower in the morning so we didn't go shower here. I mean it's not elixir otherwise we would have definitely. DHYANLINGA - the road (walk only) leads to dhyanlinga but when its nearly 50° degrees, it makes it difficult to walk barefoot on the UNEVEN and hot surface. They could have put Carpet on the foor covering uneven surface but i guess they were short of funds and also they wanted you to feel the culture. You are going to feel that culture the next day too when your feet hurts. There were old people walking slowly and some of them were pouring water on the floor to walk on that hot surface. It was 3PM and Carpet is a must for people who aren't used to walking on the uneven hot surface. Finally when you reach dhyanlinga, they will force you to sit inside dome and meditate. We recently had an accident and couldn't sit on floot so they forced us to sit on the chair. We didn't want to be rude so we sat for 2 minutes. There was a small baby crying very softly and these CARETAKERS asked the lady to get out pointing finger as if she made a huge mistake. If they can't respect humanity, what good will come of anything they practice in life. We saw that and immediately stood up. 2 of them tried blocking our way. Well, just to be clear, We bow to God only and there was no God here. We are not slaves they need to get this to their heads. We left instantly without responding to them. By the way, the best feeling was when we bought 3 packets of biscuits and made the dog eat. He was very happy and kept coming back to give his love. That was the only good feeling we got. We made sure the dog wasn't hungry anymore and then left back for the hotel. Canteens are everywhere so don't worry if you miss one. There are more on the way. Also phones were not allowed but we noticed some of them carrying it quietly with them. The deposit box is safe. They take your photo and phone number. So nothing to worry about.

The Adiyogi area of Isha Yoga centre is about a km from parking area. This is a very impressive giant sized statue on a large platform. There is a Shiv Linga in the forecourt area of this statue where visitors can offer Jal abhishek amidst continuous chanting. A good arrangement ! But the walk from parking to the adi Yogi arena can be a challenging one for senior citizens & children during mornings & summer times as it's a wide open area without any trees/shade. So beware of this aspect & go prepared with sunglasses, Caps etc.

Chavakad beach is, like any beach, fascinating giant waves, yes waving you to come near get drenched in the salty water enthusiastically calling you inviting you like a friendly host which very rarely you can resist.. The great grand sea continuously roaring with white hearted foam, the waves humbly bending the face like a young wife blushing.. You can't take it that way always.. at times gets ferocious and swallows whatever coming on its way. Anyway enjoy the sea from a distance safely sitting on the beach. Chavakad beach tells these to you when you go there. Don't miss it. 🙂🙂👍

We visited Chavakkad Beach in the evening around 4 PM. The beach was very neat and clean, and we really enjoyed our time there. My daughter had a wonderful time playing in the sand and watching the waves. However, it is not safe to go deep into the sea, so we stayed near the shore and played carefully. There are small shops near the beach where you can buy snacks and drinks. We traveled from Guruvayoor to the beach by auto-rickshaw. The auto fare was ₹200 one way, so it cost us ₹400 for the round trip. Overall, it was a beautiful and refreshing experience at Chavakkad Beach.

You can pay respects to a collection of deities here, including Lord Shiva, Ganesha, Muruga, and more, all within one sacred space. Essential Visitor Information- Dress Code: Be aware of the strict dress code for men: they must remove their shirts and enter with their torsos bare above the waist. Worship Time: Due to the large number of devotees, your time in front of the main deity is very brief—you typically get only 30–45 seconds to see and pray to the divine lord. Closing Hours: The temple is extremely punctual with its closing schedule. It shuts down exactly at 11:30 AM on weekends/special days and 11:00 AM on normal weekdays. During Thrissur Pooram, the place transforms into a grand cultural spectacle drums (chendas), elephants, fireworks, and a festival spirit that’s hard to describe in words. Most famous temple in thrissur where thrissur pooram is celebrated. We visited there in the evening after 5pm (suggesting you the same). No dress code like traditional dress like mundu and saree in this temple. But men has to remove their shirts while visiting the main deity. After coming out we sat near the temple and watched sunset.

Very peaceful, beautiful and an important place in the film history perspective. Better to visit in monsoon or the winter season, else the scorching sun will not allow your sense of relaxation to exist. Tender coconut is a bit costly, wondered why the land of coconut has become like this. There are other places better than this nearby. Need atleast two days to completely experience this out.

Aliyar Dam is in Tamil Nadu but it is part of the Parambikkulam-Aliyar Project. The dam is a good tourist destination. You can spend some time on the dam viewing the deep blue water in the reservoir and the surrounding hills. It is an excellent spot for photos. Usually there are several tourists on the dam. If you go there in the evening you will love the dam and the surroundings in the fading light.

One of my favourite dams in Tamil Nadu is this one. ​I love this place for its serene and nature-bound atmosphere. The dam offers a fantastic view of Valparai and other mountains. ​Don't miss the stunning view from atop the dam. Be sure to walk the full length to witness more scenic views of the bridge, the flowing water, and the surrounding mountains. The entire area seems to be covered with coconut trees. ​The small entry fee is well worth it to enjoy the beauty of the place. It's especially beautiful to visit on non-summer days. You'll find many small eateries outside the dam. ​This is a place you shouldn't miss when you're in Pollachi.

Aliyar Dam is a charming location surrounded by Annamali Hills with wonderful natural views. It is located between Pollachi and Valparai. The dam's location amidst the Western Ghats provides a stunning backdrop, and the surrounding hills and reservoir offer picturesque views. Mango orchid and coconut trees on the one side and hills and water on the other side. Absolute beauty. Entry fee is 5 ₹ person and 20₹ to carry mobile phones inside. Note they don’t accept UPI at the counter , so carry cash. Inside the premises they have various play stations - swings toy trains and many other kids play games - few of them are paid entry. You have to walk to the top of the damn via stairs - close to 100 steps .

Aliyar Dam, located a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Coimbatore city, is a scenic spot that’s perfect for tourists and nature enthusiasts. The combination of the serene dam waters, lush greenery, and towering mountains creates a picturesque setting that’s ideal for relaxing and clicking beautiful photos. The entry fee is quite affordable, just ₹5 per person for access to the garden attached to the dam. If you plan to take pictures using your mobile, there’s an additional ₹20 photography fee. The garden is well-maintained with smaller fountains adding to its charm. After exploring the garden, you can climb the stairs to get closer to the dam. One side of the dam is bordered by the scenic garden, while the other side is flanked by magnificent mountains, making it an incredible sight. Outside the garden, you’ll find some small vendors selling fruits and snacks, although they tend to charge slightly more as it’s a tourist area. However, during my visit, I didn’t see any vendors inside the garden itself. There are also a few shops near the entrance where you can grab some food. For families with children, the kids’ play area inside the garden is a thoughtful addition. If visiting during the daytime, especially in hot weather, it’s advisable to carry water bottles and a cap to stay comfortable. The best time to visit is in the evening when the weather is cooler and the views are even more magical. Parking facilities are available outside the garden, making it convenient for those arriving in private vehicles.

The food, stay and the hospitality by the tribal people was awesome. The only place we had issues with the guide. Better to plan in Feb or March as you can see many animals due to summer. Kudos to the food preparation

A guest house inside a deep forest maintained by kerela eco tourism. You can spot deers peacocks and sometimes elephants near this stay. The overall experience is amazing. But only drawback was even if drinking and smoking is banned here few tourist were drinking and smoking and created lot of chaos there. That ruined the place. Do not do that

One among the finest beaches nearby Kochi (Cochin). The sandy beach and great sunset views would give you memorable moments. There are foods and souvenirs available here but there is a good scope for improvement.

"Clean, Calm, and Perfect for a Relaxing Getaway!" Cherai Beach is one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches near Kochi. With golden sands, gentle waves, and a clean shoreline, it's perfect for a relaxing day out.

What didn’t work well: Parking charged at around ₹30/hour without designated slots or secure fencing. I had to park in mud and struggled to exit—a guard set the fee, but no proper system or shelter. The beach area is tight and congested, especially during evenings. Space to walk, sit, or play is limited. The shoreline has noticeably narrowed—sea erosion seems to have taken over the sand, reducing usable area. Waste and debris are common, especially after high tides. There’s no visible cleaning schedule or waste management system. Few signboards or markers to guide visitors on safe zones, entry points, or amenities. Numerous resorts and restaurants line the edge, but prices are high, making the experience feel more commercial than relaxing. Safety feels uneven—lifeguards are present only at the main beach, leaving parts of the shore less monitored. The narrow access roads are often crowded or uneven, making approach and exit difficult. Positive aspects to highlight: The location is scenic—where backwaters meet the sea; gentle tides often make it suitable for dolphin spotting. Early mornings and off-peak hours offer calm, peaceful views and a quieter stretch to enjoy. A few local vendors sell light bites such as fried banana or chilli—simple and tasty. Suggestions for improvement: Create organized, secure parking with shade or paved surfaces—and consider validating or waiving fees for visitors. Increase frequency of beach cleaning crews and establish designated waste bins to manage both tidal and on-site debris. Install clear signage and maps to guide visitors to access points, seating areas, restrooms, safety zones, and lifeguard-watched areas. Expand the beach footprint or undertake erosion control measures to restore walking and leisure space. Offer affordable lounge spaces or shaded seating for families and groups, separate from high-cost resorts. Cheeyappara Waterfalls is a stunning sight right along the Kochi–Munnar highway — you can’t miss it. The cascading water over the rocks looks beautiful, especially during or just after the monsoon. It’s a great roadside stop to take photos, enjoy some fresh air, and grab tea or snacks from the small stalls nearby. Parking can get busy on weekends, but the view is absolutely worth the quick break. A perfect start to your Munnar trip!

This waterfall falls on the way to Munnar from Kochi airport. Since we visited during May when it started raining we happen to catch a glimpse of this waterfall enroute. Not a great fan of crowded place but only the waterfall was good. Since it was afternoon when we visited this place, there were a lot of visitors around which made it very unpleasant experience for us. We just halted for 5 mins , clicked few pictures and we left the premises as soon as we can. Tip: try to visit this waterfall early morning so that the place is crowdless and the experience is great. I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend and time here.

Cheeyappara Waterfalls, located along NH 85 (Kochi–Madurai Highway) near Chillithodu, is one of the most beautiful roadside waterfalls in Kerala. The best part is that you don’t need to take a long trek to enjoy it—the falls are clearly visible right from the highway, making it a perfect stop for travelers heading towards Munnar. From Kochi, it takes about 2–3 hours by road (around 48 km before Munnar), and from Munnar town, it’s just a 40–minute drive. Public buses and cabs regularly pass this route, so reaching here is very easy. The waterfall cascades down several rocky steps, creating a refreshing and picturesque view, especially during the monsoon season when it flows in full glory. Entry is completely free for everyone, and there are small shops nearby for tea, snacks, and souvenirs. A wonderful roadside attraction, Cheeyappara Waterfalls is definitely worth a visit on your Munnar trip!

Overall Impression - The waterfalls are absolutely stunning. Accessibility - Positioned right beside the highway. Bathroom Amenities - Unclear or not available. Activities - No swimming allowed; viewing is the chief pastime. Food Options - There are many food stalls and some restaurants in the vicinity. Drawback - It can become fairly crowded.

The show was good was for one hour and 3 rows of ticket. The seating is in an elliptical circle with the stage in the centee on the ground. Seating is like on the 1st floor and its priced 300, 400 and 500 rupees. 300 is with plastic chair and its the outer circle. The next closest is cushion seats for 400 rupees which is a bit closer to stage. 500 rupees is the closest. Lot of efforts goes into making this show but its worth it.

We visited Kalari Kshetra in Munnar, and it was an experience we’ll truly remember. The evening featured stunning performances of both Kalaripayattu (Kerala’s ancient martial art) and Kathakali (the classical dance-drama known for its elaborate makeup and expressions). Watching the Kalaripayattu fighters showcase their strength, agility, and discipline was absolutely thrilling. And the Kathakali performance, with its vivid storytelling and expressive gestures, was equally captivating with a beautiful dive into Kerala’s rich artistic traditions. The venue is cozy and welcoming, which adds to the charm, and the performers are clearly passionate about keeping these traditions alive. If you're in Munnar and want a cultural experience beyond just the scenic views, Kalari Kshetra is a must-visit.

The tickets for Kathakali and Kalari cost 300 each for an hour each. The theater was half occupied on a Monday evening, unfortunately there's no numbering system, so sit wherever you could find a spot. The Kathakali had two sections: the first section was interesting where they were explaining the different facial expressions, but the second section, a story, was boring and sleep inducing. I found the performance average. The voice narration was so muffled that you could barely understand a word that's spoken, probably due to bad speakers. They force you to tip while taking pictures after the performance which seemed a bit odd. The Kalari performance is where this place shines. The performers were really good with a lot of different acrobatics performed, some jaw dropping. The fire ring, the closing act, was absolutely mesmerizing. Totally worth it. Verdict: Kathakali nay; Kalari yay - and definitely recommended.

I came from North India and I watched both Kathakali and Kallaripayatu Martial Arts with fire performance at the end. It is the best show I have ever watched. All the performers are well trained and do not fail to engage the audience with their art.

Ok can visit once, but if you go by your car even there is parking space tourist guides & jeep drivers won't let you to park the car. At Kalari Kshethra too much smoke at climax scenes.

We went early and so were shown the makeup being done by the Kathakali artists. Wonderful demonstration as an introduction to Kathakali, audience participation and beautiful performance. Great and sincere performance by the Kalarippayattu artists. They gave their all. I have trained in Kalari and was surprised by how much they were able to show in just one hour. Kerala has such divine and powerful arts and martial arts. It’s practiced and performed with such humility. This needs to be showcased to every part of the world! Great work and thankful for the performance, Kalari Kshethra. If you’re visiting Munnar, do not miss Kalari Kshethra!

It is a Must visit place in Kochi. A unique and good experience along the side of the coast. The fisherman will do a lot of fishing on the sea shore. The mechanism is quite simple yet thoughtful. A few places give a demonstration about how it's done, we got a chance to see the entire mechanism because we had joined a bigger group. Lots of variety of fishes are available of various sizes. You can also purchase along the side and get it cooked in your stay if they allow.

Great place for viewing Arabian sea. You can watch the ships entering and leaving channel. Lot of food joints in around the Bay. Fresh seafood restaurants are there

If you are looking for a sunset backed pic of the Chinese fishing nets, try to reach before 6pm (check local timing for sunset). We unfortunately reached just after sunset but luckily still got some okay pics. There are many shops where you can check out fresh catch and ask for it to be prepared right in front of you. I am sure it will be pricey but should be okay for a one time experience. There is a sunset view point a little ahead of the Chinese fishing nets which you should visit. The ferry is awesome from Marine Drive (High Court Junction) which costs just 40 bucks. AC ferry which is very well maintained

The makeup starts at 4:30 PM, and they do it right on stage so the audience can see the whole transformation — honestly, that itself felt like part of the show. The theatre is calm and welcoming, with devotional music and even a nice fragrance around, which made the experience feel special. Before the main performance, they explained the grammar of Kathakali — the expressions, eye movements, and hand gestures — and it was absolutely fascinating. The actual play started at 6 PM, and I was blown away — the makeup, the live instruments, the narration-singing, everything came together beautifully. You can really feel the love for culture in every detail. They also have a small shop at the back with souvenirs like oils, magnets, and antiques. Overall, it’s one of those experiences that stays with you — I’d definitely watch it again.

You see a small glimpse of performances, guaranteed to inspire you to seek out the full day long performances in the future. We watched an hour long Kathakali show, and a short demonstation of Kalari as well, both were fascinating in their own ways. I wish the centre a lot of success!! After 6 month wait, finally we could make it last week. We witnessed the Kathakali performance (including makeup) and Kalaripayatu(martial arts). Excellent performance by the artists in both shows. Good seating arrangements, light and sound. Ease of contacting and booking, courteous hosting and punctuality. Please make it day wise schedule because we wanted to watch classical dance as well but it was on a different day.

After the Athazha pooja (main pooja in the evening), the chief priest of the principal deity comes to Kizhukkavu to perform the famous and great pooja "ValiyaGuruthy" (great Sacrifice). The Guruthy is prepared in 12 cauldrons (huge vessel) and is performed at about 8.45 p.m every night. Those who witness the guruthy performance, which itself is awe inspiring and prolonged ceremony, finds it an experience which is indescribable. Visited Ettamanoor Shiva Temple after visiting Vaikom temple & Major Mahadev Temple Brahmamangalam. We reached after 10:30, so there was wait for the abhishekam. Not too crowded but yes there was enough crowd. There's huge parking but open not shaded. But it's free. There are small stalls to get some assescories and gift items and Statue. There's a refreshment stall too There's washroom available.

The pine forest with its mighty old trees was picture perfect. You should visit this place in early monsoon and late monsoon. The way the moss covers the tree trunks are something out of a fairy tale. The place has a mystic sense of beauty and adventure. The parking is wheelchair accessible but that's it. The minute you step into the forest you gotta be able to trust your legs and lungs. The climb down is easy and fun, you could go all the way down to see the creek that flows gently right beneath. But the climb back up is bound to break those sweat glands and give your lungs a run for their money. But don't let that keep you away from its beauty. As they say, the most beautiful places require the hardest climbs.

Just after the main gate of Kerala Veterinary and Livestock University is this place. There is a paid parking place or try to park along the left side of the road while coming from Elapara. There is enough parking space on the left side of the road in front of the University campus which is greenery. The entrance fee per adult is Rs. 10/-. You have to walk 200 mtrs from the entrance to reach the pine valley. There are a lot of way side shops where you can buy home made chocolates, sweets, tea dust or tea leaves etc. I suggest buy home made chocolates only after eating a piece as most of the these chocolates are not at all sweet. Mostly good for diabetes people as it is not sweet but can be eaten with the feeling it is chocolate. Inside the pine trees campus you have to walk down the hill fully covered with pine trees and so can stay out of the sun rays and heat. Better to visit during afternoon if you are on a one day tour as it gives relief from the hot sun which you experience visiting the Vagamon meadows and Thangalpara etc. If you are visiting Vagamon on a one day tour or plan to leave Vagamon via Elapara towards the end of the day I advice to visit Pine Valley towards the end of the sightseeing as from pine valley you can leave directly to Elapara. There is a Kudumbasree Hotel at the entrance of pine valley where you can get homely food at moderate prices. Happy sightseeing

Good place to visit. Pleasant climate once we enter the forest. Steep and uneven pathway to walk. That's a small difficulty for some people. Else good place for photography. Lot of shops from entrance till forest. We can have snacks, buy things for kids and adults and much more.

one of the most famous things about the Vagamon hills is the pine forest. Vagamon Pine Forest is a region with acres occupied by magnificent Pine trees thriving in the environment on steep slopes which is very unique to the region. This man-made forest was created during the British era and today also it is standing tall and beautiful. Even at noon, when the sun is very strong, the heat of sun does not penetrate and keeps the land very cool. It is worth taking some time to relax in the middle of pine trees enjoying the cool weather

The queue is extremely long — it takes around 8 to 9 hours to reach the temple. If you are going with children or elderly people, it can be very dangerous because of the huge crowd. The security and police don’t seem to take much control, and most areas are so dirty that you can’t even place your feet comfortably. Once you enter the queue, you cannot step out or find a place to sit. If it rains, the situation becomes even worse — the ground gets messy and unhygienic. I personally waited for more than 8 hours, surviving only on a little water and a few biscuits. If there’s an emergency or someone needs to use the toilet, it’s almost impossible to leave the line. Seeing this made me question whether God truly exists here, because the place feels so unholy and inhumane. It literally felt like hell — plastic and garbage are scattered everywhere along the path. While the pathway itself is decent, people keep littering despite there being waste bins around. So, the problem isn’t with the government or the Devaswom Board, but with people’s mindset. Even though this temple is in the middle of a forest, people pollute it on their way to see God. It feels like the place has become more about business than devotion. We must remember — if there is any God, it’s within us, and only people can make a change, not any divine being.

Sabarimala Shri Ayyappa Swamy Temple is a sacred pilgrimage nestled in the Western Ghats, known for its spiritual aura and challenging trek. Devotees experience deep devotion and peace amidst its serene, forested surroundings.

Sabarimala is the sacred abode of swamy ayyappan and is situated on a hilly forest terrain in ranni perunad village in pathanamthitta district. This is the only temple in our country having a pincode 689713. Sabarimala is administered by atheists is a disgrace. Legendary belief is that after the victory over the demon, lord ayyappa meditated at sabarimala and attained moksha thus transforming this place as spiritual destination and worshipping here is highly auspicious. The holy eighteen sacred steps pathinettam padi is the main stairway to the temple. Here swamy ayyappa is placed gracefully in a beautiful sanctum sanctorum with dwarapalakas. Acknowledging the traditional importance and to adapt contemporary sensibilities temple is opened for five days every month. Main pilgrimage season is the mandala makara vilakku from november to january for sixty seven days. During the year temple will be opened for certain festival days also for a short period. Pilgrimers observe 41 days celibacy as customary principle for darshan to this temple. As part of custom womens of menstruating ages will not go for darshan. Without any dress code devotees themselves wear black or blue coloured shirts and dhotis. Here devotees address each other as 'ayyappa' or "swamy" and not by their names. Pilgrimers wear a thulasi bead carry a sacred bunch called as irumudi packed with cloth pouch filled with dried rice, ghee filled coconut, arcenut, jaggery, betel, coin, kadali pazham. Irumudi can be packed at pamba ganapathy temple. Atfirst to reach near nilackal for parking and by state transport bus to pampa. All trek barefoot towards sannidhanam from pamba which is the commonly preferred route. Some prefer other traditional trek routes such as erumeli kalaketti pampa and vandiperiyar sathram pulmedu sannidhanam. After wetting feet in the pampa river take darshan in pampa ganapathy temple and start trekking towards sannidhanam on the stone tiled paths passing through the divinely significant places such as sabaripeedam, pandithavalam, cheriyanavattam, neelimala, apachimedu and atlast reach sannidhanam. Those disabled can avail the dolly services. Free food at pamba and sannidhanam available but is conducted in a disgraceful manner. Those with irumudi kettu are only allowed pathinettam padi access. Devotees can offer for various rituals such as neyyabhishekam, ashtabhishekam, kalasabhishekam, kalabhabhishekam, pushpabhishekam which is also not systematically organized. Aravana and appam available as prasadam but commercialized. Common devotees are put to much hardship and maximum sufferings kept waited for long hours in long ques and are pulled out inhumanly before sopanam without enabling a small glimpse of the lord. Only bigwigs entourage found given undue privileges enabling smooth darshan. Moreover contributions of devotees seems not properly utilized for devotee friendly infrastructure improvements as the pilgrim facilities found inadequate in nilackal, pamba, erumeli and sannidhanam. Online bookings for darshan and accommodations handled unprofessionally. Being a globally revered divine destination sabarimala lacks professionalism and transparency in administration as it requires a separate devaswam and at the helm a IAS officer.

truly a beautiful spot to visit. The surroundings are calm with a cool breeze that refreshes the mind. There’s plenty of parking space, and the adult entry ticket is ₹70. It’s best to visit on normal days, as weekends and holidays can get very crowded. Private vehicles are not allowed near the falls since it’s a forest area, but the office provides shuttle buses (two are available) to take visitors from the parking area to the waterfall. The staff and security are very friendly and helpful—one security officer even helped us take pictures. There are small shops nearby for tea and snacks, and clean bathrooms are also available. Bathing at the waterfall is comparatively safe, and steps are provided to climb up for better views and photos. Payments are cashless, so only UPI or cards are accepted. Overall, it’s a well-maintained place and worth visiting. The best time to go is early in the morning. The falls open at 8 AM.

We recently visited Palaruvi Waterfalls, and it was an amazing experience! From the ticket counter, it’s about a 3 km ride to the falls, and visitors are taken there by the park’s bus service since private vehicles aren’t allowed. The waterfall offers a stunning view, and bathing in the cool, refreshing water was truly enjoyable. There are changing rooms available for women, which is very convenient. The area does have quite a few monkeys, so it’s best to keep an eye on your belongings and avoid taking food outside. The place wasn’t too crowded, making it perfect for a peaceful trip with family or friends.

A must-visit natural wonder! Palaruvi Waterfall is truly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala. Paal means milk and aruvi means waterfalls .A Refreshing experience worth the travel. This is located in Kerala and very well maintained(Unlike the several badly maintained falls in Tamilnadu). To protect our environment, Plastic Bottles and eatables are not allowed.The vehicle by which we travel has to be parked and all visitors need to travel 2 to 3 kms in the Forest department buses which is mandatory. The staff were very courteous as we waited in the queue and were making us comfortable. The view was stunning but involved climbing a path ! Can't bathe directly under the strong flow . A small area where we can take a dip in the cool, flowing waters was very refreshing !

Nice place to visit, Well maintained by the Kerala Forest Department. Friendly staff in guiding us too. Amble parking space. The transportation arranged is also good. The only drawback I saw here is the wait till me for transportation when we return back. People coming in groups keep on coming at different times and these people kept on entering in between the queues increasing the waiting times of the people already waiting there ,.especially the elder people and people with kids . I would humbly request deploying more staff on thr waiting area to avoid such situations, so as to ensure the smooth functioning of this tourist place.

One of the oldest lighthouses in Kerala, it holds history from the time of the British East India Company. Both an elevator and stairs are available to reach the top. The view from the top is worth the journey and ticket amount of 20rs.😀

Worth a stop on the way up north to Alappuzha for only 20rpi. Worth noting there is a ticket office for the fun park , so make sure you go up the road to the actual light house entry gate. Founded in 1902 this is one of two lighthouses in the Kollam area. After to begin showing cracking in 1930, this lighthouse was strengthened by A.N Seal in 1940. This 120+ year old light house will provide stunning views over Kollam and the Indian Ocean

A Historic place in kollam. Well maintained renovated lighthouse. Evening view is mesmerizing. They are charging an entry fee of र20 for adults, र10 for children(3-12) and senior citizens and र50 for foreign citizens. There is an extra fee of र10 for taking photos.You have to keep the footwear outside before entering the lighthouse. Monday is a holiday. There is a children's park in the compound And a small refreshment shop there. Unofficial parking fee is too high that's collected by a lady whose home is near to the lighthouse.

What a beautiful light house it is, with a lift inside to make our effort of walk easy to reach the top. Beautiful view of the whole thamarassery area and kollam. 20rs is the admission fee for one person and 10 extra for using the camera. 10min is allowed maximum if there is rush to spend on the top. Otherwise 10-15 is maximum allowed. Try to take the stairs instead of lift, if you want to burn some calories😜

Awesome views from the top and yes there is an elevator so we has to climb only a few stairs ! The sunset view would be spectacular but it closes at 6 pm .However the walking path also gives a great view .

Certainly one of the best beach, having a great cliff connecting through another beach and having all restaurants/cafés and shops over the cliff. Must recommend the morning walk through the cliff and have a great sight during sunrise. For party ppl Evening time is great fun.

It is a beautiful beach. It has got peace and calm ambience. Where you can sit peacefully, and you can listen, the sounds of the waves. moreover, you will be having less crowd and compatible with Cherai and Cochin Beach. I have been there along with my family enjoyed a lot that too during night time it was very pleasant to hear the song. It is one of the decent features I have ever seen.

The Varkala Beach does not allow people to bathe in the water. The beach is always crowded but it very closely to the stays. The beach is in walking distance of 3 to 5 KM only. It is the most unique Beaches in Southern part of India. The views from cliff is Stunning. It is well known for its lively atmosphere with many cafes and restaurants along the cliff, catering to visitors. After sunset, it's possible to witness bioluminescence, an aquamarine glow in the water, making for a magical experience. Swimming is not always not safe due to strong currents, so visitors are advised to be cautious and not allowed during season time. It's Good place to relax and unwind. But the food is costly and I don't highly recommend.

Varkala Beach is quite overrated and usually very crowded. Most of the time, access to the beach was restricted, so we could only watch the sunset. However, the sunset view itself is truly mesmerizing. The beach is easily accessible, with plenty of buses running on this route from the railway station. There are also several nearby beaches that are less crowded and have fresher water.

Varkala Cliff is one of the best places I’ve visited. The views are insane, the vibe is calm, and the cliffside cafés make the whole experience great. Perfect for a relaxed walk or just chilling by the sea. The best time to visit is definitely evening and night when the place feels the most alive.

LOVE THE PLACE. I love visiting this place every now and then—the whole place issa vibe. Everything you need is on the cliff, from food to clothes to antiques, you name it. I bought a bunch of antique stuff on my last visit. There are honestly so many shops selling antiques, jewellery, clothes, and all kinds of random things. But here’s a tip: don’t jump at the first price they tell you. You can usually bargain and get things for a much better deal. Also, the same item might be in a bunch of different shops, so take a walk around before buying anything. There are so many—literally so many—cafés and restaurants up there. But don’t just go with the Instagram hype. Do a bit of research or explore on your own, because there are a lot of great spots apart from the usual “Instagram-approved” places. A coffee while taking in a glimpse of the beach, or sipping a cocktail with the sea view, is a must if you ask me. The views from the cliff are just stunning, especially during sunset when the sky goes crazy with colours. It does get crowded in the eve. People chilling, music playing from cafés, and the sea breeze it all feels perfect. If you’re in Varkala, the cliff is definitely a must-visit.

One of the divine and nearest temple in varkala. Also 2000years old. At the temple entrance, small pond is available. The water is refreshing, & even spotted a little turtle. The temple was neat, clean, and maintained with care. While it looked like many other traditional temples as well. It was quite hot during my visit, For Gents - The shirts and inner baniyan to be removed due to temple customs. The god looked unique from others. It was an pleasant moment but it stayed out for more than half an hour because of prasadham offering for the god.

Some of highlights - - Vishnu Ji Murti is so beautiful and different - the number of diyas lit in the evening are just amazing - and to top it up there is Gajraj ji (elephant) in the temple complex 😍. Few tips - Try to go in night around 6:30 as diyas are lit that time , you can also help in that - In Mandir main compex you have to remove the shirt /tshirt

We recently visited this temple and had a very peaceful experience. There’s also a pond near the temple, which adds to the calm and serene atmosphere. One important thing to note is that boys need to remove their shirts during darshan, as it’s a mandatory tradition here.

Before entering the temple, I spent a few quiet moments at the temple pond right in front of the entrance. The water felt refreshing, and I even spotted a little turtle,it was such a calming start to the visit. The temple itself was neat, clean, and maintained with care. While it looked like many other traditional temples, there was a special peaceful vibe that I really felt. It was quite hot during my visit, and I was wearing a hat. A lady told me to remove it,possibly due to temple customs.
