One of my favorite spots was the Meditation Hall, which gave a peaceful and almost spiritual vibe. Walking through the long, winding passages felt like stepping back in time. The Patalaganga stream deep inside the cave was another highlight — it's amazing how water still flows there! The temperature inside was a bit warm and humid, so it’s best to wear light clothes and carry water. I also appreciated how well-maintained the place was, with guides and signboards helping visitors understand the cave’s history and geology. If you love nature, adventure, or just want to explore something offbeat, I highly recommend visiting Belum Caves. It’s one of those places that make you appreciate how mysterious and powerful nature can be.

The path can be slippery and muddy in parts in some areas, the mud can even cover half your leg, so wear appropriate footwear and tread carefully. It's also hot and humid inside, which adds to the sense of adventure. The entry and exit are through the same point, and you're free to click as many photos as you'd like. There’s also a professional photographer available inside if you're interested in getting a photo taken. Some parts of the cave are well-lit, while a few sections are slightly dark, adding to the cave's natural mystery. I personally loved the experience. A must-visit for cave enthusiasts and adventure seekers!

Belum Caves is undoubtedly one of India’s most fascinating natural wonders — a long stretch of underground limestone formations that really show how incredible nature can be. However, the experience itself leaves a lot to be desired in terms of management and basic facilities. First and foremost, carry sufficient cash for your tickets and small expenses. The online network here is extremely poor, and most of the time, the QR or digital payment systems simply don’t work. Many visitors are left struggling at the counter trying to make UPI payments that don’t go through. Once inside, there’s drinking water available, which is good because you’ll need it — the cave is very humid and warm as you go deeper inside. It can get quite uncomfortable after a while, so wearing light clothes and good footwear helps. You’ll also notice quite a few bats in some sections — they don’t really bother you, but it can be unsettling for some visitors. Sadly, the signage inside the caves is minimal and confusing. There are long stretches without any clear direction or information, so you’re often left guessing which way to go or what you’re looking at. To make things worse, no guides are available, which is a real disappointment because a place this unique deserves proper storytelling and supervision. Facilities outside are in poor shape — there are no functioning toilets, and the nearby restaurant has been closed for some time. AP Tourism really needs to step up its management here, as the infrastructure is not up to the mark for what could easily be a top-tier tourist attraction. The surroundings are quite empty, with very few visitors, which gives it a deserted feel. On the way from the parking area to the ticketing counter, you’ll also find a few beggars, which is unfortunate and adds to the sense of neglect. Overall, while the caves themselves are extraordinary and worth seeing once for their sheer natural beauty and geological importance, the poor upkeep, lack of amenities, and absence of guidance make it a place you visit more for curiosity than comfort. With better management, Belum Caves could truly shine as one of Andhra Pradesh’s best natural attractions — but as of now, go prepared, go patient, and definitely go with cash in hand.

Very good experience. All family members enjoyed it. Government is maintaining it well. Lights and fans are kept in good spots so that there is a balance of natural and comfort while exploring the caves. But, many visitors are spoiling it by throwing empty water bottles and footwear everywhere. Plan to go in shorts as there is a lot of clay mud on the way and should walk without any footwear (maybe this depends on the weather when you go).

And yes, the deeper sections of the cave can feel a little scary—but that just adds to the adventure! Entry is ticketed, and there’s ample parking space available. The restroom facilities were good, and the lady managing them kindly helped us store our luggage. While food options nearby are limited, you can find a few small outlets along the way. They've made a lot of things in terms of ventilation and lighting, but many of these systems are now malfunctioning or have completely broken down due to prolonged neglect and lack of maintenance.

We visited Sri Kalahasti Temple from Chennai, and it was a memorable experience. The temple is known for its historical and spiritual significance, especially famous for Rahu-Ketu poojas. It’s one of the most important Shiva temples in South India, with rich heritage and powerful spiritual energy. The drive from Chennai was smooth till Sullurpeta, with wide and well-maintained roads. After that, the road becomes narrow and supports two-way traffic, so a bit of caution is needed. That said, the route is scenic, clean, and visually refreshing — we truly enjoyed the journey. There’s paid parking available (₹60) near the temple. We were pleasantly surprised to find hot and tasty pongal served inside, which added to the overall comfort. The temple was very crowded as we visited on a Sunday. We opted for the ₹50 ticket, but still had to wait over 2 hours in the queue. Be prepared for long waiting times, especially during weekends or festival days. Mobile phones are strictly not allowed, and we had to store them in a locker facility (₹20 per phone) before entering the premises. Also, be aware of many random priests approaching for unofficial pujas and offerings outside and even inside the temple premises — kindly stay alert and follow the official counters only. Overall, a deeply spiritual experience — just plan ahead for the crowd and logistics!

Visited Tirupati after many years with a lot of excitement, but the experience turned out very disappointing 👎👎 Even with reserved tickets, we had to wait more than 7 hours and got barely 5 seconds for darshan. It feels unfair for devotees who patiently wait for so long. A few issues we faced: • Plastic was everywhere despite “No Plastic” rules. • Dress code was not followed by many. • Food quality and hygiene were very poor - even simple canteens outside serve better. • Washrooms were untidy. • No proper guidance to reach allotted cottages. • Cottage/cleaning staff kept asking for money during checkout. The worst part was returning to our cottage after darshan and finding officials cutting trees and damaging the building area. The stairs became unsafe to use, and the staff showed no concern when we questioned it. Overall, what we hoped would be a memorable spiritual visit turned into a stressful experience. Truly disappointed, and I personally wouldn’t recommend visiting under such conditions.

Once you enter the long queue for darshan, it becomes almost impossible to find suitable food or milk for babies, which makes the wait even more difficult for parents. Cleanliness and crowd control also need more attention. With proper management and better facilities for devotees, the experience could be far more peaceful and comfortable. Overall, while the temple’s spiritual energy is unmatched, the administrative side needs significant improvement to match the devotion people bring here.

Visited the Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple with family on a weekend 01.11.2025(Saturday) around 07:20 AM... We opted ticket for the INR 50 per person darshan. There was a short waiting time of about 20-30 minutes as the Aarti was in progress, but it was well managed. The darshan experience was smooth, with no crowd pushing or chaos, something that made the visit even more peaceful. Feeling truly blessed. 🙏 Only one disappointed. Proper Car parking is not available. Official temple parking should be allocated some space.🚗 Many parking lots collecting whatever they wish to charge. Anywhere in any street some person will come and give you Parking token. At the time of my visit in above mentioned date, a person in scooty token and charged rupees 70 for car.

The atmosphere was spiritual and calming, with proper arrangements for devotees. Even though it was slightly crowded, everything was managed smoothly by the staff and volunteers. Highly recommend visiting if you're in Tirupati – a must-visit temple full of positive energy and devotion.

However, I don’t recommend buying the paid ticket — I got the ₹300 one and honestly, it wasn’t worth it. The free visit is more than enough to enjoy the temple. 🪷✨

Very beautiful temple with huge campus area. Temple is surrounded by trees. Place is very clean and clam. Mobiles are not allowed inside. There are specific slots for free darshan. Otherwise need to pay for darshan. I took Rs. 300 Darshan, in that they will allow to sit in front of God for sometime also they gave Prasad. Restaurant, Parking, Accomodation facilities are available.

It has a powerful, spiritual atmosphere, noting that the temple can be very crowded, especially during festivals or special events like Karthigai Deepam or full moon days., but also that early morning visits offer a more serene experience. Commonly mentioned engineering marvels of the temple, such as the massive stone construction and the mysterious shadow of the vimana and the spiritual energy of the place. You can pre-book just before 2-3 hours for darshan and can be booked both online and offline to avoid the long queues for darshan. Puja items are sold around the temple area.

Visited on week end. Too much crowded. Took around 5 hours to take the darshan. Finding car parking was difficult. Finally could able to park with the help of a auto drive around 800 meters away from Raja gopuram basically it's one of the entrance. Parking fee was Rs 80. I am not sure if this parking was really run by temple authority because it dint look so. Better to take Rs 50 entrance ticket to save some time. I was not aware that there is such facility. After the darshan we can buy sweet pongal and pulihogre for Rs. 10 each. Temple also sells laddus and other items priced Rs. 50 each.

Visited here during Pournami and did the Giripradakshina at night, starting around 12 AM and completing it by 6 AM. The crowd was massive, so after finishing the walk we took some rest in the morning as darshan was difficult due to the rush. Later in the afternoon, around 2 PM, we went for darshan and were able to complete it in just 30 minutes. The experience was peaceful and truly blissful — we really loved the place. Arulmigu Annamalaiyar (Arunachaleswarar) Temple in Tiruvannamalai is a major South Indian Shiva temple located at the foot of the sacred Arunachala Hill. Many saints, including Ramana Maharshi and Seshadri Swamigal, attained samadhi here. I visited today along with my friend, and the darshan was amazing. We spent nearly an hour in the temple after the darshan, and it filled us with a lot of positive energy. Please note: On Pradosham and auspicious days, the temple becomes highly crowded, and waiting time for darshan can range from 3 to more than 6 hours. Parking is also difficult, and you may have to park far from the temple and walk or take auto. If visiting with senior citizens, plan accordingly. Buying special dharshan ticket for Rs 50/- will help.. To avoid crowds, visit on non-festival days, non-auspicious days, and weekdays.

The best place for one day trip from bangalore. It’s full of thrilling and I have visited many times . But this time I didn’t get chance to go inside Bec water was too much so they had closed it . Best place to visit with family and friends.

It is a fantastic ride of around one and a half hours from bangalore. Marvelous road with smart turns and curves. Bikers can enjoy it. Stay is not so cheap but can be negotiated. Don't go for oil massage if you are alone as yours belongings can be stolen.

Defenetly not a choice if you are looking for more games, they have only very less games but more down in their website. The guy sitting in the reception billing section dint have patience to explain , he hardly responds.. The property is good, but only zip line game is kind of ok. Peaceful and spiritual experience at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple. I visited the temple yesterday on the full moon day. It was quite crowded, with special prayers going on, but the atmosphere was very peaceful and filled with devotion. Such a worthy visit. Best temple to visit if you love ancient architecture. Best time to visit will be early in the morning and early in the evening before the temple closes, to avoid crowd. I was not able to get a Darshan because of the long que, even though it was disappointing, the exploration into the architecture made me compensate.

Srirangam is a magnificent temple with a vast, beautifully maintained complex. The divine idol of Anantha Shayana Vishnu in the main sanctum is truly awe-inspiring. Don’t miss the Lakshmi and Garuda shrines. The temple is very clean and well-managed. You can also opt for the ₹500 official ticket for direct darshan.

When in trichy, you can go to this temple but please make sure you are fit to climb around 300 steps. If you have any knee pain or foot pain, please skip this temple. Visit this temple only by taking an auto as its located in a very chaotic and busy lanes of the market area.

Think about 400 steps but worth it for the view when you get to the top, shoes are not allowed, plenty of things to see along the way and rest if get tired, if unfit go when it is cooler.

A very huge and beautiful Shiva temple..the paintings on walls are incredible and one of the best dipicting the stories around the temple significance..one has to see those painting in live...color full paintings..one of the best and must place to visit in trichy, need to climb around 200 steps visit the temple. A padal Petra sthalm. This temple is so famous in the name of Utchi Pillayar temple. When you step up to Utchi Pillayar temple this Thayumanavar (shiva) temple, Mouna madam temple, Meenakshi Sundreshwarer temple, many small temple (sculpture) and also Pallava caves is on this route. Big step around 600 is there. All temple are well maintained. You should have to spend about 3 hours to get your dharsan and photos.

Before visiting to this temple that I was not aware about the story of how lord Vishnu played the role of brother for durga mata in her marriage...and thus temple is dedicated to brother of Durga maa that is kallazghar akka vishnu ji.. The famous kal alagar temple located in the hills of alagarmalai is quite a beautiful place to visit in Madurai. There’s a huge parking area outside the temple complex. The gopuram is tall and sculptures are well preserved. The main shrine is located 100 meters approx from the main entrance. Average waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays

The temple is truly beautiful, and the prasadham is excellent. If devotees visit, the free line moves faster than the paid one, which is convenient. The Ramanujar shrine is a peaceful spot where you can rest, and the Perumal looks stunning. A visit to Shakarathalvar is a must, but before that, make sure to stop by the Karupu Swami Kovil at the entrance—the aroma of his sandhanam is heavenly. After that, you can see Azhagar and explore the other shrines at a slow and relaxed pace, making the visit truly enjoyable. The temples maintainance was so good and kept clean.

This lake is situated at a very high level from the sea. The climate is almost cool. We can enjoy it there by cycling, horse riding,pedestal boat services and beautiful flower gardens near this lake

I visited this lake and really liked the atmosphere. Boating and cycling were enjoyable, though it was quite crowded during the day. There’s also a market around the lake with souvenirs, food, and local chocolates. But for me, the best part was at night — the place becomes almost empty, and that’s when you can truly enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of nature.

I visited this beautiful place in early June 2024. It’s a wonderful spot for a casual walk with your loved ones, offering the feeling of strolling along the edges of a mountain while being completely safe. I’d recommend avoiding school holiday periods, as heavy traffic jams during that time can eat up a lot of your day.

Loved the calm and cool atmosphere here. Walking among the tall pine trees felt refreshing and peaceful. We took some great photos, and the kids enjoyed running around. There were a few monkeys around, its fun to watch, but we had to be careful with snacks, but they added to the fun experience. It was a bit crowded but still a wonderful place to visit.

A peaceful and memorable visit to Madurai Meenakshi Temple I recently visited the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and it was a beautiful experience. The temple is grand and full of history, with amazing carvings and colorful towers. At the moment, the towers are under renovation and painting work is going on, so most of them are covered. Still, the temple’s beauty and energy can be felt everywhere. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and spiritual. The darshan of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar felt very peaceful. Even though it was crowded, everything was fairly well organized. One thing to be careful about — there are a lot of people outside trying to mislead visitors, especially auto drivers and some shopkeepers. They might say there’s no cloakroom inside, but don’t believe that. There are official cloakrooms near all four temple towers where you can safely keep your slippers and mobile phones. This place is awesome. A lot of spiritual values with history. Located in between City. Market, shops, restaurant near by. Special Darshan can be available with 100 rs ticket for both temple inside the campus. Free darshan takes more time than usual. Now painting work is going on. And maybe it will six months atleast so now people not able to see it's beautiful architecture from outside. Mobile, Smart watch, earbuds etc not allowed inside temple. U can kept it in claok room with reasonable price less than 20rs accordingly. No special dress code required for this temple. Nearest junction is madurai and auto available easily or u can go by walk.

One of the most famous Temple of India , situation in Madurai. It's temple of Meenakshi Amman otherwise known as Devi Parvathi. Don't miss this temple ,it's also one of the oldest temple in India . Best time to visit will be during 5 or 6 AM in the morning,so that you can finish darshan in less than 30mins ,it gets crowded later in the day . I wish they keep the surrounding of temple a little bit more clean . Mobile isn't allowed inside .

I visited the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, and the experience was truly exceptional. I loved the temple with all my heart. The architecture is breathtaking, and they are still working on certain areas to make it even better. Every intricate detail on the walls is impressive and reflects the temple’s rich heritage. The people there are incredibly pure and kind-hearted. Their warmth and the way they treat visitors stood out to me—they genuinely make you feel respected and welcomed. Before entering the temple, there are a few important rules to follow. You must remove your shoes, and bags have to be deposited at the designated counters. Shoe storage is available for free at specific counters, which is very convenient. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the temple premises, and you cannot leave your phone inside your bag. There is a special counter meant only for mobile phones, where they charge ₹5 per phone. So if you are planning to visit, it’s best to come hands-free or carry only what’s necessary so you can enter peacefully and enjoy the temple without any hassle. Overall, it was a soulful and memorable experience, and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling to Madurai.

Visited Kundala Dam on 19th April during the late evening. The place was peaceful and the surroundings were serene, with cool weather and beautiful natural scenery. It’s a nice spot to relax and take in the calm views of the dam and the hills around. However, since it was late in the day, most of the boating activities were closed and there weren’t many people around. It’s a good stop for a quick visit and some pictures, but not much to do if you arrive after evening hours. Maintenance and signage could also be better.

The Dam is on the Kundala lake. The entrance is wide and they have paid parking inside. The place is very beautiful but be aware of the monkeys. The Dam is located at the entrance. After that you can access the lake and boating point. There is a entrance fee of Rs 10 to enter the park. The place is lovely and serene. There are many shops outside the park entrance inside. Overall Very nice. Please go.

This is a very recommended place in your Munnar Diary, a very good place to take pictures between pine trees like any other hill stations. The lake view is super awesome. You can take Shikara rides as well. There are many photographers out there and they can give you hard/soft copies of the pictures at a very reasonable price, the best part is they will suggest you good poses as well. Try to visit late afternoon, so that you can chill and relax near Lake side.

The scenery surrounding the dam is fantastic with so much of greenery. This dam is built on river periyar. Various types of boats are available for tourist. The entry fee is around INR 10, but you can also choose to go boating, relax by the water’s edge, sit on the swings, and capture some stunning photos with the serene backdrop. However, do watch out for monkeys! There are also a number of small shops and food stalls near this place, offering local snacks and souvenirs. Kundala Dam is a very pretty spot in Munnar. It's an artificial lake created by a dam, and it's surrounded by beautiful green hills and tea gardens. You can go boating here they have pedal boats, rowboats, and even shikara boats like in Kashmir, which is a lovely experience on the calm water. It's a great place to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and take some nice pictures with the lovely scenery in the background.

This place offers the best trekking through tea plantations. Can be reached by jeeps as well. Best views on the top. I visited to view the neelakurinji, the blue flowers covering the whole mountains. Heaven on earth. Worth the whole day outing, enjoying the nature's true self. The view from top is mesmerizing. We get to visit a tea factory in the middle where the whole process of tea making can be seen. The top view point has the lions face rock which holds 300° view of the valley. One great place to visit.

Oh my god ! That's what you'll constantly scream while watching the view in multiple places. You will be in an constant awe with the whole trip. There are many spots to spend entire day - Carmelgiri botanical garden, elephant park, tea museum, echo point, maddupetty dam, kundala dam, top station, hydel park, spices county and many other places for trekking and sightseeing. Waterfalls with good view and atmosphere will make give you a peaceful and positive attitude towards everything. Excellent places for photo shoots and breathtaking views with exceptional people of kerala and tamil people are too friendly for everything. Kanan devan group of companies have a tea museum running in the town of munnar, history of tea leaves and the process of manufacturing, production and packaging is explained in detail for every visitor with patience. You can get varieties of tea powder in discount prices at the museum.

This place is definitely worth visiting! As others I paid 2000 Rs for jeep. The driver didn't let to share jeep with others because I was foreigner. I didn't like going up to the mountain with jeep and I wouldn't go there again in this way. The shaking was terrible! I felt it was bad for all of my body. I refused to go down the mountain with jeep. And I went by feet. I didn't regret. It is really nice road to go on feet! A little bit slippery. But I could enjoy wonderful views, feel the mountain and all plantation, to say hi to the local people working there. I spend about two hours and a half to go down. So I recommend to go with the jeep till the off road starts and then go by feet. Of course you will spend more time but you will avoid that unpleasant experience to be shaked.

An awesome place near Munnar. It's a very best place for those who loves greenery, rocky terrain, , adventure and very beautiful scenery of Tea estates . It would be more spectacular after monsoon.This is also one of the highest tea estate offers amazing views of the tea gardens, probably the best in Munnar. You can hire a jeep to climb the hills through the off road track inside the Tea estates.

Kolukkumalai one of the best seen place in kerala . Kolukkumalai is famous for the sunrise , mist , the moutains and the jeep trekking. The sunrise view was spectacular ,feels like in heaven surrounded by the mighty mist make that feel. The vibe was so good because the hill was situated around 7000 ft from sea level . Another attraction was the singapara ( lion shaped rock) . The one and half hour jeep safari especially off-road ride to kolukkumalai was a must experienced one , hatsoff to the driver . During the ride the tea plantation view and mountain view were eyecatching . We can only go through the alloted jeep service , no private vehicles alloted. Please dont spoil nature by throwing plastics. For kolukkumalai package or related stuffs ,u can ping me.

It was an amazing experience! The Kalari martial arts performance was fantastic, especially the last 15 minutes with the fire display – truly thrilling to watch. After the show, you can also take photos with the artists, which is a nice touch. The Kathakali show was equally mind-blowing. The performance was powerful, and the singer’s voice added so much depth to the storytelling. Photos with the artists are allowed at the end here as well. Show timings: 6:00 – 7:00 PM: Kalari 7:00 – 8:00 PM: Kathakali Charges: ₹150 per person (kids free). Overall, it’s absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Thekkady!

Extremely worth seeing and understand the dance form and marshal art of Kerala. These two traditional forms were never displayed and explained better before. Hats off to the artists and participants who are so devoted and keeping these art forms alive. The centre is located in the center of Thakkady and easily accessible. Strongly Recommendation to visit this center to witness rich heritage of our country.

We visited around 11:00 am. First buy a entry ticket at the parking area then wait for the forest bus to pick up and then the journey starts. Once you reach the forest you have to buy boating tickets for ride, if u don't want to ride then you can also visit surrounded areas of the lake by other ways like trekking or walking. We reached late and by the time there was no boat for the ride and the next ride was after one hour so it was not worth the ride. So we take pictures at the entry point of the lake and nearby surrounding areas.

This review focuses on the boat safari, which is located inside the National Park. The safari lasts for one and a half hours and provides an amazing opportunity to see wildlife along the lake's banks. Sightings of elephants, deer, and bison are common, making it a unique and thrilling experience. To access the boat safari, I took a bus from the city, where there is excellent paid parking available. This was very convenient for me, as I traveled from Bangalore in my own vehicle. The parking area is spacious and very safe. The ticket counter for the bus, which takes you to the starting point of the boat safari, is located at the end of the parking lot. The bus journey took about half an hour. There are various time slots available for the boat safari, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. I chose the 1:45 PM to 3:15 PM slot. All the staff involved in the management were very helpful and humble, enhancing the overall experience. After finishing the boat ride, the return bus took us back to the same parking lot, and we did not need to buy bus tickets again. I forgot to carry binoculars, but if you want to watch the wildlife closely, it's a must-have. Photography enthusiasts should definitely bring zoom cameras. I visited in October, and the weather was pleasant, making the experience even more enjoyable. Periyar Boat Safari is a must-visit for nature lovers, offering a blend of adventure and serenity.

This lake is inside the national park . The ticket price is 250 each for boat in this park and lake visit. The bus will take you from tickets counter to the park and then the ticket for boat ride. There is cafeteria and complex too. It’s an 1.5 hour boat ride and the way is too beautiful. If you are lucky then you will watch birds and animals there drinking water at the bank of the lake. Also camping and staying available there . We had morning batch boat and the views are too good .

A very good place to visit if you are in thekkady. Plan your day accordingly because there are lots of thing to do here Periyar lake boating is common here and if your are planning to do it kindly book you ticket in advance no offline ticket is possible here . It's a boat ride for 3 hours on Periyar Lake in the Periyar National Park. Upward journey takes 1.5 hrs and downward journey takes 1.5 hrs. You can find some wild animals like sambars, elephants, tigers (if you are lucky enough). You will certainly find the Sambars as they are more in number. We had found 4 cute Cubs but from a long distance, watched them on Binocular. The ticket price is ₹255 which is very reasonable price for 3 hrs ride.

Mullaperiyar Dam is a masonry gravity dam on the Periyar River of Idukki district of Indian state of Kerala. It is situated 150km south east of Kochi and 200km north east of state capital city of Trivandrum. It is located 881 m (2,890 ft) above the sea level, on the Cardamom Hills of the Western Ghats in Thekkady, Idukki District of Kerala, India.

From Periyar bus stand taken to jetty and carried out boat ride. One can purchase tickets at jetty itself if done earlier online. Excellent arrangements. One can opt for green walk also. My visit to Periyar National Park was an amazing experience. I went bamboo rafting, took a boat safari. Rafting program includes 7 km trek into the forest and the rafting. It's lasted about an hour for one way. Although animal sightings were few, the trek and overall natural beauty made it worthwhile. If you’re hoping for more wildlife, the best time to visit is between April and May the animals will more easily spotted.

I had the opportunity to visit Arulmigu Nellaiyappar Temple in Tirunelveli, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere inside the temple is very serene and spiritual, making it a perfect place to spend time in prayer or simply to admire the cultural richness. Nellaiyappar temple Such a monumental temple with extraordinary architecture. It was simply blissful to be there. Temple is just in the heart of Tirunelveli. There are multiple temples inside the campus. It’s will definitely take more than 1 hour to complete all gods. If you are a spiritual and architect lovers. You shouldn’t miss to visit this temple.

One for Nelliappar for lord siva and another for the goddess Gandhimathi. A 2nd biggest siva temple in world,with very huge 3(3 for ambal + 3 for shiva)pragarams. Gomathy ambal is very gorgeous 😍 (gnanasakthi swaroopam). I have given 5 starts because every inch of the temple are very clean , Management is not shown that much interest in commercializing darshan( No 100rs,50 rs tickets for darshan) only 5 rs that too not required for all days . I really felt shivas heaven when I entered near garbhagraham of nellaiyappar .I suggest all to visit arround 5.30 Am to see the thiruvanathal sevai ,you will never forget the temple in life

I visited many times for various reasons but everytime I surprised how to bulit and idealogy they are really amazing to carving the sculpture and paintings that smell of the temple too divine it enter your soul really peace and divine feel

There’s a lovely clock tower inside — definitely visit it, because from the top you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the entire area. Inside the dam premises, there’s also a Milma ice cream parlour, a café, and a canteen that serves good meals. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature! 🌿🍦

I am giving 4 star as its good but has potential to be great. Neyyar Dam, nestled in the Western Ghats about 30 km from Thiruvananthapuram, offers a peaceful escape into nature. As a traveller, I found it to be a quiet, scenic spot—ideal for those who prefer slow, reflective moments over crowded tourist attractions. The dam is surrounded by forested hills and a vast reservoir that glows beautifully in the evening light. A walk through the nearby park or simply sitting by the water feels calming. The boat ride across the reservoir adds a touch of adventure, taking you to the Lion Safari Park and Crocodile Rehabilitation Centre. While these spots may not be high-end, they offer a raw and unique experience, especially for families or first-time visitors. Neyyar isn’t about grand sights or adrenaline; it’s about pausing, watching, and breathing. It’s best visited on a weekday for a quieter experience. There are limited food options, so carrying your own snacks and water is a good idea. If you’re looking for a simple, refreshing day surrounded by nature, Neyyar Dam is well worth a visit. During monsoon this place offers a completely different experience than that of the summer. Facilities are mostly minimal and the central view tower definitely needs some better management. Also thats the same situation of the parks, can be maintained well, with proper land management and maintenance. If you are someone who enjoys a view its a great place. There is also a KTDC restaurant right next to the dam. I hope they have accommodation facilities too as they had a decent menu. Prices seemed reasonable and can be subjective. There is also an aquarium that has a ton of fish species, and there are some giants too, giants in a sense as if they weigh over 50kgs. It has a seperate ticket counter. I believe it was the first fish aquarium in india or asia. The lighting and interior ambience during monsoon is very dull and moody, but i hope it will be better during the summer. The structure is also comparatively better considering a public building, its not great in terms of aesthetics but is definitely good in terms of flow, movement and exhibit placement. I liked that one. It also has some huge ponds outside the building close to its perimeter that has some large koi fishes. Overall a good place for a one day trip, and it’s always better to visit and leave early. Check with the authorities for official timings.
