We had taken one day pass which costed 850 rs per person and entry is free for children under 3 years of age. This includes breakfast, fruits, lunch and snacks. Also activities like boating, visit to the resort and auditorium, bullock cart ride, swimming pool access and rain dance. Also there’s kids play area, animal sculptures and scenes showing the rural occupations. It was a nice one day picnic with my family.

It's a fantastic family-friendly spot with a wide range of activities. Enjoy making and drinking fresh sugarcane juice, playing games, boating, bullock cart and horse rides, and pottery. Other activities include crafting with clay, traditional cooking experiences, and more. The breakfast and lunch are delicious, with plenty of options to satisfy everyone.

“Agadi Thota” was conceptualised in the year of 2000 with a theme we grow, we offer, we process our produce. In the year 2017, as a value addition and to generate additional income to make agriculture more self sustainable, we started to offer a special authentic North Karnataka’s ethnic food which is a geographical indicator of this region. The whole day we keep serving various items in unlimited quantities, starting from Fruit juice as a welcome drink, different variety of seasonal naturally grown and ripened fruit cuts, Millet based breakfast with natural Lemon Tea, Ragi Malt, Tamarind chigali, Sugarcane Juice, North Karnataka cuisine Lunch, Butter milk, pan, evening Masala Girmit with Sev, Mirchi to end with Tea/coffee. Agadi Thota's main objective is to offer a whole day package of ethnic North Karnataka Unlimited food. Along with that, to educate people about our culture and tradition, we also have Village life style self experience as a complimentary to the guests. Promoting our north Karnataka food is our intention hence we do not allow any outside food as we keep serving unlimited quantities of different items throughout the day. Food is our service is mandatory, rest of the experiences are just complementary.

It was one of the best experiences to spend quality time with my family, surrounded by nature and enjoying traditional food. I especially loved the mud kitchen items prepared in the old style from our UK side — I’m a big fan! The food was completely tasty, healthy, and reminded us of our roots. The entrance games were on another level, and I had so much fun playing with my little and younger brother. It created beautiful memories for all of us. I sincerely request Agadi Thota to make mud kitchen items available either online or offline, so more people can use them, as they are really good for health. Nowadays, in Dharwad city, I only come across matka water, but not such authentic items. I am truly thankful to Agadi Thota and everyone behind it for keeping us healthy and for teaching the importance of our old lifestyle. 🙏
Banu — Google review
Agadi Thota is a perfect destination to enjoy the real rural beauty and culture of North Karnataka. The farm is well maintained, calm and quiet in lush green surroundings. The activities provided are enjoyable for all age groups. From bullock cart ride, pottery making, boating, rain dance and many others. But mind you they only provide the structure you have to do everything yourself. But the best part is the food of North Karnataka served during entire day..it’s simply awesome..fresh, tasty ,homely and unlimited also.. The staff is very warm and makes sure that whoever comes there have a great time. The concept of organic farming and showing people how to do such type of farming in a very sustainable manner is really appreciated. It’s not about visiting, it can be called as an complete cultural exposure. I would say family outing, school outing or if you are just bored from the life going around. If you are anywhere near Karnataka u must visit this place!

A wonderful place to visit with family and kids — offering an authentic village experience that brings rural life alive! From bullock cart rides, tanga rides, to various traditional games and activities, it’s a great way for children to see and enjoy what they’ve only heard about! Urban Oasis Mall

Shopping mall
Shopping
Urban Oasis Mall- Hubballi is a popular shopping destination in the city, offering a wide range of retail options and entertainment facilities. The mall features a game zone for kids, various food options, and clean washrooms. Visitors can explore different shops including clothing stores, ice cream shops, and electronic outlets like laptop stores. Additionally, the mall houses well-known brands such as KFC and Domino's along with a cinema theatre.
🛍️ One of the Best Shopping Malls in Hubli! 🛍️ Urban Oasis Mall is a great place for shopping, food, movies, and spending quality time with friends or family. It has a wide range of national and international brand outlets like Reliance Trends, Max, Pantaloons, and more. The mall is clean, spacious, and well-maintained with proper security and parking facilities. The food court offers a good variety of options — from quick bites to full meals. The cinema hall inside (INOX) is also very comfortable and perfect for a movie outing. There are plenty of hangout spots and sitting areas, and the mall also hosts events and exhibitions on weekends which adds to the lively atmosphere. Highly recommended for shopping, entertainment, and leisure in Hubli! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ac was not on so it was feeling suffocated so within 15 mints i just returned. I wouldn't recommend to visit thos place.
Deepa S — Google review
Urban Oasis Mall is a solid, all-in-one spot on Gokul Road—easy to reach, with plenty of shopping, a multiplex, and a straightforward food court. It’s clean, reasonably well maintained, and works well for a few hours of retail therapy or a movie + meal plan. What I liked • Convenient location & parking: Just off Gokul/Airport Road with on-site parking, so getting in and out is simple even on weekends. • Brands & basics covered: You’ll find national labels (e.g., Titan World, Reliance/Pantaloons-type anchors) alongside everyday essentials. • Movies at Cinepolis: Comfortable screens and current releases make it easy to turn a shopping trip into a full evening. • Food court for quick bites: Familiar chains (KFC, Domino’s, Pizza Hut) and Indian counters—handy if you’re with family. Good to know • Peak-time crowds: Weekends/holidays can be busy; shows and popular eateries fill up fast. (Plan showtimes and arrive a little early.) • Overall upkeep is decent, though some reviewers wish for a livelier food court and sprucer common areas. Verdict: A dependable, family-friendly mall for shopping, a movie, and casual dining in Hubballi. Not a “destination” like metro city malls, but very practical and convenient for the city. Rating: 4/5.
Dr T — Google review
I recently visited Urban Oasis Mall in Hubli, and while it offers a few amenities, the overall experience was underwhelming. The mall houses some well-known brands like Pantaloons, Reliance Trends, and Woodland, but many stores appeared closed or sparsely stocked. The food court features outlets such as KFC and Domino's, yet the token-based system is cumbersome, and service can be slow . Entertainment options include a Cinepolis multiplex and a gaming zone. However, the cinema has been criticized for issues like sound quality and screen maintenance . The gaming area is modest and may not appeal to all age groups. Cleanliness and maintenance are areas of concern. Visitors have reported poorly maintained washrooms and a persistent odor in the parking area . Security staff have also been noted for unhelpful behavior in some instances. In summary, Urban Oasis Mall serves as a basic spot to pass time in Hubli but falls short of expectations for a comprehensive shopping or leisure experience.
Nikhil P — Google review
It's okay. Only decent place in hubli to watch movies.. pvr is there.. They have bowling also. Food court in-house is very bad. Stalls inside is not good. maintenance can be better!
Dr K — Google review
Is a decent weekend destination —A visit on a Saturday, and it wasn’t overly crowded, which made browsing easy. That said, it could definitely do with better housekeeping — some areas felt a bit neglected — and adding more anchor tenants would elevate the overall shopping experience.
Satyaveer V — Google review
The Mall is very good and well maintained, but mindset of people who live in the city is not as developed as metro city people. Due to which the footfalls in the mall is very low which have led a lot shops to close. In my recent visit a lot of shops of the food court were closed. Barely any apparel shops were open.

Kittur Fort

Mentioned on
1 list
Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Kittur Fort is an archaeological site that houses the remains of an old fortress, along with well-maintained garden areas and a small museum showcasing ancient artifacts, armour, weapons and other items used by soldiers. The fort played a significant role in India's freedom fights, as it was bravely fought and defended by Rani Chennamma against the British. Located just 1 km from the highway, this quiet fort is easily accessible with ample parking nearby.
Pride of Karnataka. We can see how scientific and safely those people spend their lives during ancient days. We know it's too old and destroyed most of the part but yet it gives a view on their scientific lifestyle. Presently reconstruction work is going on. Anybody can visit the fort at any time after completion of construction work. Thank you 😊...
Shrikant B — Google review
"I'm absolutely in awe of Kittur Fort, a true pride of Karnataka! Despite being ancient and partially destroyed, it showcases the scientific and safe lifestyle of our ancestors. The ongoing reconstruction work promises to restore its former glory, and I can't wait to visit again soon. Located between Dharwad and Belgaum, the fort is steeped in history, having witnessed many battles, including Rani Chennamma's brave fight against the British Army. The museum is a treasure trove of artifacts, with portraits, swords, and sculptures that bring history to life. The fort's surroundings are well-maintained, with a beautiful garden and ample parking. Each part of the fort is labeled, making it easy to explore. I loved the local school chorus singing patriotic songs about Rani Chennamma - it felt like walking through a movie! A big salute to our ancestors for their ingenuity and bravery. Kittur Fort is a must-visit, and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in history, culture, and patriotism. The best part? It's free to visit, and the authorities deserve kudos for maintaining this awesome monument
Sharanabasappa G — Google review
Same is important and historical place, seen many battles in history. Its free to see, one musium is also there. Now fort is not in good condition. maintained and clean. surrounded by big wall. palace is middle of the fort. same is also not in good condition. but we can understand the history.
Pradeepkumar S — Google review
Kittur Fort is located in between Dharwad and Belguam District . Even though the great archeological site is in poor condition but still work is progress. Nice garden. Well maintained cleanliness and parking facilities are available.. Rani Chennamma ruled & fought with British Army. She was brave queen.
Dr S — Google review
The Kittur Fort, located in Kittur Chennamma, is a place of immense historical importance, famous as the site where Rani Chennamma bravely fought the British. 📍 Location & Travel From Belgaum: Approximately 50 km From Dharwad: Approximately 30 km From Hubli: Approximately 60 km ✨ Highlights of the Fort Museums: An excellent resource for children and history enthusiasts, featuring historical monuments, ancient coins, maps, and other artifacts. Guided Tours: A guide is available on-site to provide detailed explanations about the fort and the inspiring life of the freedom fighter, Rani Chennamma. Photography & Views: A beautiful spot for photo lovers, with great locations inside the fort and a viewpoint offering scenic vistas. Devotional Sites: The fort premises also house a Gram Devata temple and a Hanuman temple, providing a devotional atmosphere. 🍽️ Food & Dining Tips On-site: There are no well-known, sit-down hotels directly in Kittur. Recommendation: It is best to dine at a Highway Dhaba where you can find space and a focus on hygiene (e.g., Durgamba Dhaba) located near the main highway. 🛣️ Nearby Attractions Saibaba Temple: Located about 3 km from the fort, near the highway.

Historical place to visit near Dharwad, The place where Rani Kittur Chennamma who fought against British, monuments and others archaeological have been preserved but destroyed beyond imagination by british and invaded Bijapur dynasty who ruled Karnataka region.

Small but beautiful ground fort. It's decently maintained and we were able to walk through all parts. Each part is labeled but it would have been great to have a short description of that area. The place is dilapidated but still feels beautiful. There was a local school chorus singing songs about Kittur Queen Chenamma when we visited and it felt very patriotic and made it feel like walking through a movie.

Unkal Lake is a large and picturesque lake in Hubli-Dharwad, offering activities like boating and sunset viewing. The waterfront park nearby provides a perfect spot for relaxation, while the temple in the vicinity adds a touch of cultural charm to the area. Additionally, there are restaurants with delightful views of Unkal Lake where visitors can savor Chinese and Thai cuisine.
Beautiful lake to relax and spend time. Visited here when train got delayed. Well maintained and lots of place to relax. The view of lake is amazing. There is a kids park too. Great place to spend free time. There is a small food court too. The ticket price is just ₹10!

Unkal Lake Hubli: Perfect for Picnics & Peaceful Walks! Unkal Lake is a popular and well-maintained spot in Hubli, ideal for picnics, walks, and quality family time. The lake is large, complemented by a clean garden, playground, and walking pavements right at the entrance. Entry is a nominal ₹10 per person, and car parking is conveniently available in front. While the lake itself is well-maintained with regular de-weeding and attractive new fountains with lights, it's disheartening to see visitors still scattering garbage and plastic, despite efforts to keep it litter-free. A great place to relax, if visitors contribute to its cleanliness.
Saish G — Google review
A great place to spend time with family and friends! The Unkal Lake and garder is the place where you can find real peace and happiness. The place is totally covered with greenery and we can see many view points there so that we can enjoy the lake view from there and can feel the atmosphere. The lake and garden is really wonderful but I suggest to maintain the Unkal Lake more as the water seems to be polluted, and also request each and everyone (including me) to maintain the place and follow the rules so that the lake and garden look better and it's our own responsibility to maintain our area and surroundings clean including public parks, gardens and more. My overall experience was pretty good and I really enjoyed a lot. Most recommended garden to visit for the one who are new to Hubballi, and i recommend those too who haven't visited this place. There are even many more kids playable area so that kids can enjoy and have fun. Best walking trails are available for morning and evening walks and you'll really enjoy it. Huge Parking facility is also available vehicle parking. The ticket is Rs.10 per person and Rs.5 for vehicle (the day I visited). * Online Payment Option is not available. ** No entry ticket and vehicle parking ticket were provided by the ticket counter agent, who was unresponsive.* Overall my experience for this visit was worth watching and I really enjoyed here! Beautiful lake with wonderful surroundings. It’s so clean. Ample parking space for vehicles.

Great place for walkers and jogger’s . We could only make 1/4th round of the entire lake . According to the security of the lake the entire periphery of the lake is about 6.5 kms . The lake closes at 07:00 pm . If you are planning to cover the entire round then have ample time before you take the full circle. The lake is just next to Hotel naveen . The pavement have been well laid . There are lights out along the track so that the move may be smooth . There is a sun set view point at the enterance at a heightened location . There is an eatery/restaurant at the entrance where you can grab snack before you set out for walking . Entrance fee is 10/- and parking fee is also 10/- . If you are in Hubballi and not sure where to go in the evening then this is a good place to explore .
Vijay K — Google review
I am a resident of Jaipur and have been visiting lake for long walks ever since childhood. I have seen people from all walks of life come to lake for morning and evening walks. I like to walk the talk here with friends and family. The environment of the lake is very conducive for deep introspection. Watching the sunrise or sunset gives me an exhilarating experience and makes me feel one with God and Nature. Of late you can see the water shimmering like silver if you go around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and makes the whole area look so calm and serene and beautiful. At the other end of the lake there is now a Buddha Park with a very beautiful calm and serene statue of Lord Buddha in sitting pose. At the entrance you will find the lake club, restaurant, lots of vendors selling eatables, and a big play zone for kids where you can enjoy with kids. Also, there are ducks in the lake which you can feed or go for a boat ride. There are plenty of things to do here. It has become an activity centre for people. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Military Mahadeva Temple is One of the city's oldest temples, this Shiva shrine is managed by the Indian Army and was inaugurated in 1955. The temple is situated on Camp Road and is surrounded by a green, well-landscaped garden with a children's play area and has some benches to sit on. The central shrine houses an awe-inspiring black Shiva Lingam, guarded by five-hooded serpents, which captivates visitors with its mystical allure. Adjacent to the temple is a mini zoo that houses deer and emus, providing an additional attraction for families and nature enthusiasts. The temple complex includes statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and replicas of forts associated with him. The temple is open on all days from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. It has relaxing and peaceful settings makes the place worth a visit !!!

Best place to go for a relaxed walk, quality time with family, kids love it. This was the must go destination for me as a child. Loved watching deer, rabbits, peacocks, emu. The temple was a must visit place. Going to the Krishna fountain to spot tortoises was the next best activity. It was very hard to get a chance to sit on the swings. I always preferred the slide.

Ramkrishna Ashram is really nice. The special feature of this place is that Swami Vivekananda stayed here for 8 days, moreover, there are many types of colorful flowering plants beside the ashram and they are well taken care of. 🌸💮 The ashram is very attractive from outside and inside. The atmosphere there is very calm and positive. Once inside, Gaelic doesn't seem to come out. Many people were sitting there chanting.💫💫 Inside the temple there is a lot of carvings and idols. I found the people there very peaceful. The guards there were also very nice and gave us proper information. It feels very cool because there is peace there. They have made a small museum of Swami Vivekananda on the left side of the ashram. They have given a lot of information there that what Swami Vivekananda preached while staying there is shown by Chitran.✨✨ There are many such places to visit in Belgaum.👍🏻👍🏻

The Badami Cave Temples are a true architectural marvel and a window into India’s ancient history. Carved into red sandstone cliffs, each cave tells a story through stunning sculptures, intricate carvings, and peaceful spiritual vibes. Dedicated to Hindu deities like Shiva and Vishnu, as well as Jain figures, the site perfectly reflects the harmony of diverse faiths from the 6th century. The view from the caves is breathtaking-overlooking Agastya Lake and the majestic fort hills around it. As you climb from one cave to another, the artistry seems to get even more impressive. The highlight is the magnificent statue of Nataraja in Cave 1 and the beautiful Vishnu avatars in Cave 2 and 3. The atmosphere is calm, clean, and great for photography and learning about history. You may need to climb a bit, so comfortable footwear is recommended. Local guides are very helpful if you want to understand the stories behind the carvings. Overall, Badami Cave Temples are a must-visit heritage destination in Karnataka perfect for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys exploring India’s rich cultural past. Truly a place where nature, art, and devotion come together!

The place is very good and historical importance. Road to reach the spot are narrow , but there are road for cars to go. Don't rely on local rikshaw guys they will fool for money . Once you reach there .take proper govt approved guide he will show you around .everting is walking distance . It's beautiful in morning and early evening ..

Beautiful architecture that makes you so proud to know the legacy of this nation and is history. We took a female guide - Munira ( can't remember her name) who explained everything really well. The most amazing nugget is how everything has been carved from one rock. Even the ceilings have intricate and mesmerizing sculptures/carvings...all done with a simple hammer and chisel. It was humbling and a matter of pride. I do hope the government takes steps to both preserve the monuments and to get the world heritage tag. The surrounding area is peaceful. Just keep a lookout for the monkeys - they won't do anything unless you happen to have food packets with you. The guides will give you a full tour of all 4 caves. There's a fair bit of climbing and some of the steps near the 3rd cave are steep. But do try not to miss the 3rd cave as the carvings are utterly breathtaking

One of the best monuments I have visited in my life... Very fine encarvings in the caves and all the sculpture represent a unique story in itself and it tells us our ancient history and culture. The scenery around the Agastya lake and bhutnath temple is so much beautiful and it gives a calmness and serenity in your busy life. The caves are really beautiful and I felt really great that I witnessed the beauty of nature and human artisanship at one place I loved the Badami Cabe temples and the complex surrounding

The Badami Cave Temples are an architectural and historical marvel — a must-visit destination for anyone fascinated by ancient Indian art, culture, and history. Situated in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district, these magnificent rock-cut temples date back to the 6th and 7th centuries during the reign of the Chalukya dynasty and stand as a testament to the brilliance of early Indian rock architecture. Carved into striking red sandstone cliffs overlooking Agastya Lake, the complex consists of four main caves, each distinct in its design, deities, and intricate carvings. Cave 1 is dedicated to Lord Shiva and features breathtaking sculptures, including a magnificent 18-armed Nataraja. Caves 2 and 3, devoted to Lord Vishnu, showcase exquisite depictions of his various forms such as Trivikrama and Narasimha — among the finest carvings in South India. Cave 4, dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras, represents the later phase of Badami’s artistic evolution. The craftsmanship, precision, and storytelling reflected in every wall and pillar are extraordinary. The panoramic view from the caves — overlooking the serene lake and rugged terrain — is simply mesmerizing and makes the climb well worth it. The site is well maintained, though visitors should be ready for some walking and stair climbing. It’s best to visit early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Basic facilities like parking and rest areas are also available nearby.

Serene lake nestled below the sandstone cliffs of Badami, surrounded by cave temples and the Bhutanatha shrines. According to legend, its waters are linked to Sage Agastya and believed to cleanse sins, adding a mythological charm to the visit. The setting is very photogenic, especially at sunset. On the flip side, water quality isn’t great, parts of the lake are used by locals for daily chores, and maintenance around the banks could improve. Still, with its history, mythology, and scenery, it’s an essential stop in Badami.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Badami’s red sandstone cliffs, the lake near the Bhutanatha temples offers a uniquely atmospheric experience. Local lore connects this tranquil waterbody to Sage Agastya, giving it a sacred reputation as a place where one’s sins are washed away. The entire area glows beautifully during sunset, making it a favourite spot for photography. Though some stretches of the lake are used by residents for routine activities and the upkeep of the banks could certainly be better, the blend of mythology, heritage architecture, and natural scenery makes it a must-see attraction when exploring Badami.

Nestled beside the serene Agasthya Lake, Sri Bhootanaatha Gudi is a captivating lakeside shrine complex that boasts centuries-old sandstone temples adorned with intricate rock carvings and statues of Hindu deities. This temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in its stunning architecture and tranquil ambiance. The location is particularly enchanting during sunset, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and reflection.
I recently visited Sri Bhootanaatha Gudi, and it is truly a peaceful and divine place worth exploring if you are traveling around Badami or nearby regions. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is beautifully located near the Agastya Lake, surrounded by caves, red sandstone hills, and ancient rock-cut architecture. The atmosphere here is very calm, and the carvings on the temple walls reflect the artistic brilliance of the Chalukya dynasty. It feels like stepping back in time and experiencing the spiritual and cultural history of Karnataka. The temple usually opens in the morning around 6:00 AM and remains open till 6:00 PM, but it is always better to check with locals before planning your visit. The best time to visit is during the winter months (October to February), when the weather is cool and pleasant. You can also visit in the rainy season when the surroundings turn green and the nearby lake looks stunning, but make sure to be careful on slippery paths. There is decent space for parking near the site, and the place is not overly crowded, which makes it more enjoyable for those seeking peace and spirituality. You can also combine your trip to Bhootanaatha Gudi with visits to the nearby Badami caves for a complete historical and cultural experience. Overall, Sri Bhootanaatha Gudi is not just a temple but also a perfect spot for history lovers, photographers, and spiritual seekers. A must-visit if you are in North Karnataka.

This Temple in Badami is absolutely scenic and serene, beautifully set on the banks of the Agastya Lake. The view of the temple against the calm waters and rocky backdrop is truly breathtaking — a perfect spot for photography and quiet reflection. Although no puja is performed here, the temple itself is an architectural marvel that reflects the grandeur of ancient craftsmanship. However, there are lot of monkeys around, so it’s best to be cautious with food or belongings. One downside is that the locals wash clothes and utensils in the lake, which affects the cleanliness and sanctity of this beautiful heritage site. People were also throwing plastic in the lake. It would be great if the authorities took steps to maintain and preserve the area better.

Sri Bhootanaatha Gudi (Temple) in Badami is a captivating heritage site that beautifully embodies the spiritual and architectural grandeur of the Chalukyan era. Nestled on the tranquil banks of Agastya Lake, directly opposite the renowned Badami Cave Temples, it stands as one of the most serene and picturesque landmarks in Karnataka. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this 7th-century marvel is crafted from the region’s signature red sandstone, appearing to rise gracefully from the lake’s edge. Its reflection glimmering in the still waters creates a mesmerizing scene, especially during sunrise and sunset. The temple’s intricate carvings and traditional stonework highlight the exceptional craftsmanship and deep devotion of its time. Nearby lies Sri Vishnu Gudi, a smaller yet equally revered temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Though simpler in architecture, it beautifully symbolizes the peaceful coexistence of Shaivism and Vaishnavism under the Chalukyan rule. Together, these temples form a harmonious pair, representing the spiritual diversity of ancient Badami. The Agastya Lake itself enhances the area’s charm and tranquility. Surrounded by stone ghats and steps, it is believed to possess sacred, purifying waters. The panoramic view from the lake — with the Badami Cave Temples on one side and the Bhootanaatha Temple on the other — is nothing short of breathtaking. Scattered around the lake are numerous smaller shrines and ancient ruins, each narrating its own tale through unique carvings and styles. Some are dedicated to Vishnu, Shiva, and the Jain Tirthankaras, showcasing Badami’s rich tapestry of religious harmony and cultural heritage. Framed by rugged red sandstone cliffs, time-worn temples, and shimmering waters, the entire landscape exudes a timeless beauty — a haven for history enthusiasts, photographers, and travelers seeking peace and reflection.

Located on the far eastern shore of the Agastya Lake, it offers spectacular views of the lake and the rest of Badami, while the temple itself is a testament to the amazing sculptural prowess of the Chalukyas. It features meticulously carved images of several deities and is a must visit when in Badami.

Sri Bhootanaatha Gudi (Temple) in Badami is a mesmerizing heritage site that perfectly captures the spiritual and architectural brilliance of the Chalukyan era. Located on the serene banks of Agastya Lake, right opposite the famous Badami Cave Temples, it is one of the most peaceful and picturesque spots in Karnataka. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this 7th-century temple is built from the region’s iconic red sandstone and appears to rise gracefully from the edge of the lake. The temple’s reflection shimmering in the calm waters creates a truly magical sight, especially during sunrise and sunset. The intricate carvings and traditional stone architecture reflect the artistry and devotion of that period. Close to this shrine lies Sri Vishnu Gudi, a smaller yet equally significant temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. While simpler in design, it represents the harmonious coexistence of Shaivism and Vaishnavism during the Chalukyan reign. Together, both temples form a beautiful pair, showcasing the spiritual diversity of ancient Badami. The Agastya Lake itself adds immense beauty and tranquility to the setting. Surrounded by stone steps and ghats, it is believed to have sacred waters with healing properties. The view from the lake — with the Badami Cave Temples on one side and Bhootanaatha Temple on the other — is truly breathtaking. Around the lake, there are several smaller shrines and ancient ruins, each with its own story and style. Some are dedicated to Vishnu, Shiva, and Jain Tirthankaras, highlighting the area’s rich cultural and religious heritage. The entire landscape, framed by red sandstone cliffs, ancient temples, and still waters, feels timeless. It’s a perfect spot for history lovers, photographers, and travelers seeking peace and reflection.

A serene 7th-century Shiva temple nestled on the eastern banks of Agasthya Lake. Built by the Chalukyas, it showcases Dravida-style architecture with a three-tiered vimana and intricate carvings of deities like Ganga and Yamuna. While no longer an active place of worship, the temple’s peaceful ambiance and historical significance make it a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

You won't regret visiting this place, even though you are not well aware of its history. However, I felt aihole is much better in story telling than this temple, but that does not take away its beauty. You may hire a guide here but not necessary as I felt. There is good parking space outside the temple. I wonder why the Govt is not promoting this temple much as compared to badami and hampi.

This is a fascinating place where you’ll find numerous temples in miniature form. Though called “miniatures,” they are actually quite large — just smaller than the full-sized temples they were modeled after. These structures served as prototypes or templates for grander temples built later. You can easily spend an entire day here exploring the site’s stunning architectural beauty. The intricate carvings inside these temples are no less impressive than those found in the actual larger ones. It feels as if you’re walking through a collection of magnificent temples all in one place — only without the deities. Most of the temples are dedicated to Lord Vishnu, as indicated by the presence of Garuda statues, although many now house Shiva lingas that were installed in recent times. Except for the Virupaksha Temple, visitors are allowed to enter the other temples wearing shoes, since there are no active deities or priests. It’s a wonderful spot for both kids and adults, combining history, art, and exploration. The entire site offers plenty of opportunities to capture beautiful photographs and enjoy the timeless charm of ancient Indian architecture.

This a place where u will find lots of temples in miniature forms. Miniature doesn't mean they are small definitely it's bigger but smaller compared to the actual temples. These are the templates for those temple. Easily you can spend a day in it by exploring the beauty. The carvings inside the temples are no way lesser than the actual temple. It's almost like all the temple at one location except the deity. Most of the temples are made for lord vishnu we can say that by garuda statue but inside they have kept linga only these lingas were kept in recent times. Except virupaksha Temple all other temple u can enter with your shoes because there are no deity as well as no poojari. Kids will love it so is the elders. Best place to capture some nice pics.

The Virupaksha Temple, the most major temple in Pattadakal, is an absolute architectural marvel. The only temple in the complex with a dedicated priest and daily puja, it is also one of the largest, and the one with some of the most intricate sculpting work. Though dedicated to Lord Shiva, it has amazing sculptures of Lord Vishnu, Shakti, Lord Surya and a lot of other Hindu deities. It has amazing and extremely detailed minuscule carvings on the pillars inside the temple. It would take a long time to even marvel at the details of this single temple alone. It is the most important attraction in Pattadakal and should deserve a good amount of time by visitors.

Hardly 15 kms from Badami lies the gems of temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The chalukyan temple architecture is visible in every corner. All the badami chalukya kings were sworn in here as kings and hence the name of the place is Pattadakal in english and in kannada Pattada Kallu . The place where the crown is given in this place. Kadasiddeshwara, Jambulingeshwara, Sangameshwara, Virupaksha the only temple in service among the other temples. We can say around 15 temples are there exclusively for Shiva and some shiva temples are even without roof. In spite of it, the architecture is still in tact on the banks of river Malaprabha. The park and washroom facilities are well maintained. In spite of opting for e ticket both here and Aihole, we have to stand in the queue once again to get the etickets scanned by the same counter. The very purpose of e ticket and avoiding the queue in the counter is defeated. This needs improvement. The architecture and polishing of Shiva statues to mirror finish is something that needs mention. Worth spending at least an hour

No doubt, it’s an architectural marvel — beautiful, grand, and full of history. However, the temple management and authorities really need improvement. We had purchased entry tickets, which the lady at the gate collected while checking and allowing us in. After waiting in queue for nearly 40 minutes, we were asked to show the tickets again near the temple entry. When we explained that their own staff had taken them, they denied us entry. Shockingly, one of the priests even questioned, “Why did you come here?” — which felt very disrespectful, especially in a temple setting. We eventually took the staff back to the gate, where the lady admitted she had indeed collected our tickets. The whole situation was handled very poorly. It’s sad to see such a magnificent temple being managed with so little regard for visitors and their devotion.

The amazing group of temples at Pattadakal, a UNESCO world heritage site, are a must visit in Karnataka. Constructed by the Badami Chalukyas between 1200 and 1400 years ago. The temples are located in a very well maintained complex with manicured lawns. The temples are absolutely stunning with amazing sculptural work and influences of both the Dravida and Nagara styles visible in the temples. The temples are mostly dedicated to Lord Shiva but have idols belonging to all Hindu deities and many epics such as the Ramayanam as well. One would need at least a couple of hours to even have a cursory visit since the amount of detail present in the temples is amazing, and is an absolute mandatory visit when one is in Karnataka.

The temples of Pattadkal are located on on the banks of the river Malaprabha. The temples are stone carved and from the Chalukyan era and date back to 7th and 8th century. They are beautiful, elegant, intricately chiselled and showcase some architectural characteristics and therefore designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temples in Pattadakal bear testimony to the richness and timeless splendour of the Chalukyan architecture. It has a cluster of 10 major temples, which showcase some striking architectural features. The temples are unique as they are inspired by Aryan, Dravidian and a combination of both styles. It was even used as the ceremonial centre where kings were crowned and commemorated. There is a sculpture gallery maintained by Archeological Survey of India within the Pattadakal temple complex. Highly recommended and is definitely worth the visit.

The Pattadakal Temple Complex is truly magnificent—its beauty is beyond words. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is exceptionally well-maintained, and I deeply appreciate the efforts of both UNESCO and the Archaeological Survey of India for preserving this masterpiece of ancient Indian architecture. There is a convenient parking area right in front of the complex, making the visit easy for travellers. Among the many temples, one shrine houses a Shiva idol, and stepping inside offers a serene and powerful experience. The ancient architecture, with its intricate carvings and historic charm, transports you back in time. If you are a travel enthusiast or a history lover, I highly recommend visiting Pattadakal. For a more comfortable experience, plan your trip early in the morning or later in the afternoon, as the area can get very hot during midday. Overall, Pattadakal is a must-visit destination that beautifully showcases India’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.

Absolutely fascinating place! Pattadakal is a treasure trove of Chalukya architecture, with a mix of Dravida and Nagara-style temples that are incredibly well-preserved. Walking through the site, you can see the artistry in every carving — from intricate friezes to majestic temple towers. It really feels like stepping back in time. The site is peaceful, photogenic, and perfect for history and architecture lovers. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as there’s a fair bit of walking, and don’t miss the Virupaksha and Mallikarjuna temples — they’re breathtaking!

Pattadakallu is an incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site that beautifully showcases the architectural brilliance of the Chalukyan era. The temples here are stunning, with intricate carvings and a unique blend of North and South Indian architectural styles. Each structure tells a story from history, and the entire complex feels like walking through a living museum. I highly recommend hiring a local guide — they bring the place to life with fascinating insights and help you truly appreciate the details you might otherwise miss. The site is well-maintained, peaceful, and definitely worth visiting if you love history, architecture, or ancient art.

The place is well maintained by ASI and is one of the few places where you witness both Dravidian and Nagara styles of temple architecture. The Temple complex is quite extensive, and it would take at least two hours to explore it fully. It's advisable to visit early in the morning as the site opens as early as 7AM.

Chalukya Shiva Temple

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The Lad Khan Temple in Aihole, Karnataka is a significant ancient monument dating back to the 5th century. It is part of the Galaganatha and Kontogudi groups of religious shrines, featuring Panchayatana style architecture dedicated to Shiva. The temple's unique features include a Garba Griha housing a Shiva Linga, a Sabha Mandap with an inner sanctum showcasing a Nandi facing the shrine, and log-shaped stone bars adorning the ceiling.
The Lad Khan Temple, located in Aihole, Karnataka, India, is one of the oldest and most significant monuments of the region, reflecting the early stages of Hindu temple architecture. Aihole, often described as the "Cradle of Indian Temple Architecture," houses over 100 temples, with the Lad Khan Temple standing out for its historical importance and architectural uniqueness. Dating back to the 5th century, this temple is one of the earliest structures constructed by the Chalukyas, who played a pivotal role in the development of temple architecture in South India. The temple is named after a Muslim general, Lad Khan, who used the building as a residence during a military campaign, long after its construction

This temple is also called as Lad Khan temple as it is believed that he stayed here for some time. This temple has some beautiful engravings specially on top of the shikhar the three sides has Vishnu, Surya and Ardhnari roopam on south, west and north side respectively.

Temple inside Ailgole group of monuments also called as Lad Khan temple. Shiva Linga inside and beautiful carvings on wall and pillars. You can take photo with Aihole temples in background! Parking along the complex parking.
Sudershan G — Google review
In the group of ancient monuments at Aihole another most attractive gem is Lad Khan temple. It is constructed in Panchayatana style of architecture. The shrine has a Garba Griha with houses a Shiva Linga, which leads to Sabha Mandap. Here you can see a Shiva Linga in the inner sanctum with a Nandi facing the shrine. The ceiling is covered by log shaped stone bars, making it look like an ancient wooden temple . One of the interesting features of Lad Khan Temple is that it doesn't have a Shikhara. This indicates that it follows a cave-temple style of architecture. This cave model architecture is one of prominent feature in this particular temple. Temple is also designed in such a way to get natural light through the lattice windows. Matchless heritage site. Worth a visit !!!
Sushil K — Google review
A beautiful temple also referred to as the Lad Khan temple, it is one of the most popular temples, after the Durga Temple, within the main complex of Aihole. It has some amazing sculptures and is a must visit when in the town.
Karthik V — Google review
Lad Khan - the other most carved temple(first one being durga temple), in Aihole group of temples. This one owes its name to the general who stayed in this temple for a very long time. The carvings on the walls of this temple are good. Some of the pillars are blank as well. The ceilings have good amount of work too.
Banjaaraa C — Google review
The Lad Khan Temple (or Chalukya Shiva Temple), dedicated to Shiva, is one of the oldest Hindu temples and is located in the group of monuments at Aihole in the state of Karnataka, India. Formerly dated to the 7th or 8th century, it is now dated to about the 5th century. It is located to the south of the Durga temple, Aihole. The temple shows clear signs of following early timber models, none of which have survived. This is seen for example in the construction of the roof of the mandapa. The temple consists of a shrine with a mandapa in front of it, and a covered path for circumambulating the sanctuary, seen in other very early temples. The mukha mandapa is situated in front of the sanctum and consists of a set of 12 carved pillars. The sabha mandapa leads to the maha mandapa and the pillars are arranged to form two concentric squares. The walls have floral patterns on them and the windows have lattice work done in the northern style. Facing the sanctum, a second smaller sanctum is situated above the center of the hall whose outer walls have many carved images. Originally dedicated to Vishnu, now the main shrine houses a Shiva Linga with a Nandi. The temple was built in a Panchayatana style, indicating a very early experiment in temple construction. The special feature of this temple is that it starts with a rectangular structure and ends with a square structure. Based on a wooden construction design, the square and rectangular plan has a steep roof, which is an adaptation of wooden styles in stone. The maha mandapa is open to exterior by large windows between the pillars. The roof above the maha mandapa shows a turret as a first version of the future forms of tower: shikharas in north India and vimanas in the south

Chalukya Shiva Temple, Karnataka The Chalukya Shiva Temple in Karnataka stands as a remarkable testament to the architectural brilliance and spiritual depth of the Chalukya dynasty, which ruled much of southern and central India between the 6th and 12th centuries. Built during the Badami Chalukya period, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and reflects the early experiments that shaped the later grand Dravidian and Vesara temple styles. The structure is entirely made of finely carved sandstone, with exquisite pillars, intricate sculptures, and detailed friezes depicting stories from Hindu mythology. The sanctum houses a graceful Shiva Lingam, often bathed in natural light that filters through artistically designed openings — a perfect blend of divine symbolism and architectural mastery. The temple is located in the Bagalkot district, near the heritage towns of Badami, Aihole, and Pattadakal, which together form the cradle of early Chalukyan art. The area is easily accessible by road and rail. The nearest major railway station is Badami, around 6 to 10 kilometers away, while Hubballi Airport is approximately 130 kilometers from the temple. Well-connected highways and scenic countryside roads make the journey comfortable for visitors coming from Bengaluru or Belagavi. The best time to visit is between October and February, when the weather is pleasant for exploring the temple complex and nearby historical sites. Inside the temple, the carvings on the walls and pillars display various forms of Lord Shiva — Nataraja, Ardhanarishvara, and the powerful depiction of Mahishasuramardini. Each sculpture reflects the precision and devotion of Chalukyan artisans, who worked meticulously with stone to create enduring expressions of faith. The outer walls often carry motifs of dancing figures, celestial beings, and floral patterns, while the overall layout follows the early Rekha-Nagara style that later evolved into the more elaborate temples of South India. The peaceful surroundings and the rhythmic chants of priests make the experience meditative and spiritually uplifting. Visitors can also explore nearby historical treasures such as the Cave Temples of Badami, the Durga Temple at Aihole, and the Virupaksha Temple at Pattadakal, all within a short drive. These sites together offer a complete understanding of Chalukyan art and its evolution through the centuries. Accommodation is available in Badami and Pattadakal, where travelers can find comfortable hotels, government guesthouses, and homestays that offer local cuisine and warm hospitality. A well-planned visit could include staying in Badami for one or two nights, exploring the cave temples, visiting the Chalukya Shiva Temple during the day, and ending the evening watching the sunset over the red sandstone hills. A journey to the Chalukya Shiva Temple is more than just a temple visit — it’s a walk through history, art, and devotion. The serenity of the stone carvings, the timeless silence of the halls, and the backdrop of the rugged Deccan landscape make it one of Karnataka’s most inspiring heritage experiences, where the spirit of ancient India still echoes in every carved detail.

Jai Bhavani 🚩 Divine goddess place, thousands of people visit on a daily basis. Parking is somewhat far away from the temple. This place has a very respectful history and its legacy needs to be admired, but the place is always dirty and garbage is lying around, this is mainly because of the uncivilised people visiting this place and this needs to be changed.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a beacon of equality, justice, and compassion. His teachings emphasized respect for all human beings, regardless of religion, caste, or gender. The behavior I witnessed at the Gurudwara stands in stark contrast to his principles. Acting with such partiality and rudeness is disrespectful to his legacy and diminishes the very values he lived and taught. The Gurudwara in Nanded is truly beautiful inside, but based on my experience, the staff and some people around were extremely partial and rude towards non-Sikh visitors. I visited of my own choice; no one forced me to go. Yet, once inside, it is unacceptable for non-Sikh visitors to be ignored, dominated, or treated rudely simply because of their religion. At a place of God, there should be no partiality, and everyone should be treated with respect. My intention was only to offer my gratitude to God, but the rudeness and disregard shown toward non-Sikh visitors was deeply disappointing. In summary, while the Gurudwara is magnificent, I sincerely request that all visitors, regardless of religion, be treated with equal respect.

Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib Gurudwara is located in Nanded is one of the 5 temporal seats or 'takhts' in Sikhism. It is situated near river Godavari and is believed to be the place where the tenth guru of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singh. The gurudwara is a place of spiritualism and immense divinity emanates from within it. Even with all the crowd, it doesn't feel hectic and it is spread over a large area. Saffron cloths are provided for covering your head when going. It looks especially beautiful at night time. It is quite a serene place.

Shri Nageshwar Jyotirling Aundha Nagnath

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
One of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Shiva in india. There's q dispute between marathis and Gujarati samaj as they consider Nageshwar jyotirlinga as the correct jyotirlinga whereas marathi people have their devotion here. It's a task to have the darshan and would recommend to avoid during savan and mahashivratri days due to long queue upto 6 hrs. We paid 200 rupees per person and still ended up standing 3 hrs in line because of the temple build .
Shivam R — Google review
I love this spiritual place. A very beautiful temple has been built and you can do puja abhishek inside by taking water yourself. There some priests will ask you for water abhishek and ask for money, please stay away from such people. Otherwise it is a very good place.
Sujata S — Google review
Aundha Nagnath situated in Hingoli district is revered by some to be the actual Nageshwar jyotirling in conflict with the one near Dwarka, Gujarat and the one in Darukawan, Jharkhand. One can come here from Nanded, Hingoli, or Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. It is a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva. It has marvelous carvings all over its walls and has its top rebuilt with white marble. The wait was quite long, even though we took special Darshan which costs 200/-. It took an hour and half for us to get there. The Garbhabriha is situated underground and one to go in through a narrow set of steep steps with the help of a rope, and come back out through the same. Overall, it is a very spiritual place.

Shri Nageshwar Jyotirling at Aundha Nagnath (Hingoli district, Maharashtra) is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds immense spiritual, historical, and cultural significance. Here’s a summary of the experience people usually have when visiting: 🛕 Temple & Atmosphere The temple is very ancient (believed to be around 3000 years old) and has connections to the Mahabharata era. The architecture is Hemadpanthi style – huge stone walls, carved pillars, and a deeply spiritual ambience. The sanctum is underground (Garbhagriha), which adds to the mystic and divine feeling. The shivling is said to be self-manifested (Swayambhu). 🙏 Spiritual Experience Many devotees describe a powerful, peaceful vibration inside the temple. Performing Abhishek (ritual bathing of Shivling) with milk, water, or Bel leaves is considered very auspicious. Daily aartis (especially early morning and evening) are soulful and deeply devotional. 📖 Mythological Importance It is believed that Pandavas built parts of this temple during their exile. According to legends, Lord Shiva himself resides here as Nagnath (the Lord of Serpents). Saint Namdev, a great saint of the Bhakti movement, attained divine blessings here. 🌿 Surroundings & Pilgrimage Feel The temple is located in a calm, rural setting with spiritual vibrations. The area around the temple has small shops selling flowers, Bel patra, rudraksha beads, and Prasad. During Shravan month and Maha Shivratri, the temple sees lakhs of devotees, creating a grand festive atmosphere. 🚩 Pilgrim Tips Early morning visit gives the most peaceful darshan. Footwear is not allowed inside premises – better to keep them in designated stands. Carry a water bottle, as queues can get long during peak season. Local food (prasad bhojan) is simple and sattvik. ✨ Overall, devotees describe their visit to Aundha Nagnath as a soul-stirring and divine journey—a blend of history, spirituality, and serenity.

Divine experience at Aundha Nagnath Jyotirlinga 🙏🕉️ My visit to Shri Nageshwar Jyotirlinga at Aundha Nagnath was truly spiritual and peaceful. As one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, the temple holds powerful energy and deep devotion. The moment I stepped inside, I felt a strong spiritual connection and calmness in my heart 😇. The temple architecture is ancient and beautiful, full of carvings and history. The atmosphere is full of positive vibes, and darshan of Lord Shiva was a blessed moment for me 🙌🚩. A must-visit place for every Shiv bhakt. This place gave me peace, faith, and memories I’ll always carry with me ❤️ Har Har Mahadev! 🔱

This one of the Jyotirlinga not amount the 12 but apart from them there are many others. It is a 6 hr drive from Hyderabad but since we stayed in Nanded it was just couple of hours. Visited ona Monday and that too Sawan Somwar. The rush was minimal and we were able to come out in couple of hours with proper darshan. The feeling to see ShivSambhu is amazing.
Bikash S — Google review
Though not listed in the actual Jyotirlinga list, locals believe that this temple is one of the 12 jyotirlingas. The deity is in the basement of the inner sanctum of the temple and the devotees need to bend and pass down to have the darshan of the Lord Shiva. The temple has beautiful carvings on the walls and pillars. One of the very ancient temples and kudos to the architects who sculptured the temple.

⸻ A sacred Jyotirlinga with deep historical and spiritual roots. Aundha Nagnath Temple, located in Hingoli district, Maharashtra, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and is believed to be the first among them. According to legend, it was originally built by the Pandavas during their exile, making it a site of immense mythological significance. The temple showcases stunning Hemadpanthi architecture with intricate stone carvings and a deeply spiritual ambiance. Sadly, it was partially destroyed during the Mughal invasions. However, it was later restored with great devotion by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore, who is known for reconstructing many sacred Hindu temples across India. Situated amidst serene surroundings, the temple draws pilgrims and history enthusiasts alike. A visit here not only offers spiritual peace but also a glimpse into centuries of rich cultural and religious heritage. Truly a must-visit for anyone exploring the sacred Jyotirlinga circuit.

Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Riverfront temple of the Goddess Saraswati, Hindu goddess of knowledge & learning.
The main deity of the temple is godess Saraswati the godess of knowledge and learning. Parents with their young kids visit the temple and perform a very special kind of Pooja called "Aksharabhyas" which means the initiation of formal schooling. In Hindu Sanskriti, it is also known as Vidyarambh Sanskara, one among sixteen Sanskaras of human life. Today it was Tuesday and there were a few pilgrims at the temple. So we had a great Darshan and enjoyed peaceful spiritual moments in the Presence of the Goddess. There are ample staying facilities run by the temple authority also there are enough hotels, guest houses and Dharmashalas surrounding the temple. The river Godavari flows just 2 km away. Overall a great pilgrim experience. Five Stars.

Happen to visit this temple recently.. It's one of the most famous pilgrimage places in South India. This temple is an abode of goddess Sarswati (The goddess of education). This temple is usually floated with devotees who bring their kids for Akshara Abhyasam ( A ceremony to seek blessings before they step into the school). Very powerful diety.
PAVAN K — Google review
It is the only temple in the world where the custom of having children's initials written for their education is practiced. Traditional Indian families from all over the world come here to have their children learn to read and write. Similarly, those who have lost their mental peace and are disappointed in life come here to undergo mantra initiation in the meditation hall. Here, mantra initiation and accommodation are provided free of cost to the initiates. There are many who have completed the 41 days of meditation as per the rules of the fast and have started their life again with new energy and enthusiasm.

Visited on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much rush — the darshan was completed in just 10 minutes. Opted for the ₹200 paid darshan, which was smooth and well-managed. Overall, a peaceful and quick experience.

Travelled from. Karimnagar to basara temple to take blessings from Saraswati devi. Almost 180 km from thr karimnagar. Saraswati devi is here to bless all for their education. Aksharabhyasam is done here for the é 1kids those who will start schooling. There are separate pooja done here. 1000/- and 150/- are the prices. 1000/- pooja is done on Gharba Gudi in thr temple. If you want to do Aksharabhyasam in 1000/- better to bring fruits, kumkum and rice by your own. All these items are costly here. They take pictures of the pooja and sell them to you at thr cost of 100/- per print which is costly. The temple officials should look into the matter. There is a Godavari ghar is also there to visit.

The place was so peaceful, and you’ll instantly get all those devotional vibes once you arrive. The surroundings are exceptionally clean, and the people maintain great hygiene. We visited the temple on 5th July 2025, and as there was no crowd, we opted for the free darshan. Outside the temple, you can find many food stalls, perfect for lunch or dinner. I also recommend visiting "Vedavathi Shila," which is nearby. It’s a large rock that produces a metallic or musical sound when struck with a small stone—quite a unique experience! Additionally, the serene Godavari River is close to the temple and worth exploring.

Renuka Mata Temple at Mahurgad highlight its significance as a major Shakti Peeth, praised for its picturesque hilltop location, spiritual atmosphere, and the challenge of reaching it via numerous steps. Visitors often mention the surrounding natural beauty and the presence of Parashuram and Dattatreya shrines nearby, while some describe it as a site of ancient architecture with a rich historical and mythological background. Key aspects of the temple and the experience: Spiritual Significance: It is considered one of the important Shakti Peethas in Maharashtra, where Goddess Renuka's head is believed to have fallen. Location & Access: The temple is situated on a hill, requiring climbing around 200-250 steps to reach it, surrounded by natural beauty and caves. Nearby Attractions: The vicinity of the temple includes shrines dedicated to Lord Parashuram and Lord Dattatreya. Historical & Architectural Value: The temple is noted for its ancient architecture, possibly dating back to the Kadamba period, and the broader Mahur area has a historical connection to the Mahurgad fort. Devotee Participation: Devotees are reportedly permitted to perform their own Aarti (worship ritual) at the temple. Overall Sentiment: The reviews generally portray the Renuka Mata Temple as a deeply significant and beautiful religious site, attracting pilgrims for its spiritual aura and natural setting. The effort required to reach the temple is often seen as part of the pilgrimage experience
Saurav B — Google review
The temple is considered a revered shrine of the Shaktism sect, both due to the aforementioned mythology and because it is recognized as a Shakta Pitha. According to legend, Renuka Mata (the wife of Sage Jamadagni) was decapitated by her own son, Parashurama. It is believed that her head fell at this location. Later, Sage Jamadagni granted Parashurama a boon through which Renuka was given rebirth. This temple is also associated with the mythology of the Daksha Yaga and Sati's self-immolation, further solidifying its status as a Shakta Pitha. Shakta Pithas are sacred shrines dedicated to Durga or Adi Parashakti, believed to be imbued with the divine presence of Shakti due to the falling of Sati Devi’s body parts as Lord Shiva carried her corpse and wandered in grief. There are traditionally 51 Shakta Pithas, corresponding to the 51 Sanskrit alphabets. The Shakti of Mahur is worshipped as Renuka Devi. Most Shakta Pithas also feature an associated shrine to Kalabhairava.

Just Divine, the feeling of accomplishment once you reach at the top and take Renuka Mata Darshan. View from the top is worth.
Jay_reviews — Google review
It is one of the 52 shaktipeeth where body part of Sati fell. It is also considered one of the 3.5 shaktipeeth of Maharashtra. It is a very famous temple and has huge following not only in Maharashtra but also in nearby states. It is always croyand there are no special darshan ticket. One has to get through ordinary line only. It is better to keep a water bottle with you in line as it moves slowly and it gets quite uncomfortable during noon hours and in hot seasons. Temple is on a hill. One has to climb at least 300 steps to reach temple. The parking can be done on road or there are shops on the road with adjacent garages. They allow to keep car but you have to buy puja items from them at exorbitant rate. There are puja items shops all along the stairway to temple. But flowers are available only at foothills vendors and shops. Ma vigrah is of large face with prominent nose. The vigrah is coated with vermillion. If you book 6 purnima abhishek then you get a sari as prasad from temple office. Temple is open full day. There is no food facilities on top of hill. Snacks and meals are available at foothill shops. Drinking water is available on top. Renuka mata is mother of Parshuram. There is also a Parshuram temple whose stairway goes from backside of this temple. Temple has other shrines of Bhairav, Jamadagni, Lakshmi, Bhavani etc.
Vishal S — Google review
Parking: There’s no official or well-managed parking area near the temple. During rush hours or festivals, finding a safe parking spot can be difficult. Darshan Queue: During weekends, holidays, or Navratri, the waiting time for darshan can easily stretch to 1–2 hours. It’s better to visit early in the morning to avoid long queues. Monkeys: There are many monkeys around the temple premises — please be cautious with food items, bags, and mobile phones. Overall, a must-visit spiritual destination for devotees of Renuka Mata, offering both faith and scenic beauty. A little better management and cleanliness would make the experience even more pleasant. 🙏

Go with your squad or your partner and Beat the Heat with adventure.❄️❄️

So, it's good. But to make it easier to understand, I'll break my review down into pros and cons. Pro's 1) It's good & Huge 2) The beach and wave pool are fantastic. It gives the impression of being on a man-made beach. 3) New slides with some limitations will be discussed in the cons section. 4) The amusement park provided an enjoyable experience, despite the recent painting of the Giant Wheel and the presence of numerous rides. Cons 1) It is concerning that the water quality is not being adequately maintained, as my family and I have experienced severe itching issues that we have not encountered at other water parks. 2) The wave pool and rain dance combination is an interesting concept, however, the wave are like super weak. 3) New slides are good but only for ladies & Kids, and men are not permitted to use them 4) The cleanliness of the water in the adult slide area was a cause for concern, as it appeared to be rather unhygienic. Considering the significant cost of approximately ₹1300 per person, it is essential that the water quality and overall maintenance of the park meet the expected standards. Failure to do so diminishes the value and enjoyment of the experience for visitors.
Pranjal P — Google review
Visited Fun N Food Village, Nagpur recently. The best part of the visit was definitely the amusement park – the rides were fun and well-maintained. The water park was also enjoyable and a good place to relax with friends and family. However, the major letdown was the food - both breakfast and lunch were very poor in taste and quality. If they improve the food, it would make the experience much better overall.
Prem.k — Google review
My experience at Fun and Food Village, Nagpur was very disappointing. The security arrangements were extremely poor, and there were many boys under the influence of alcohol, which made the environment uncomfortable for families. Although the staff behaviour was good and they were helpful, the overall management was terrible. The swimming pool was not clean, and most of the slides were under maintenance, which ruined the fun. Even the swimming tubes were punctured, and we had to fill air again and again to use them. Overall, a very bad experience — not worth the money or time.
