Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkarta is a stunning Hindu temple nestled at the foot of Mount Salak in Bogor, Indonesia. This modern temple is built in traditional style and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding lush greenery and the city below. It's a significant religious site for Hinduism in the region and provides a serene environment for prayer, meditation, and soul-cleansing.
Came here to pray with our spiritual guide, true enough how nice and spiritual the place is. The mangku helped us pray correctly too! Thanks!

Drove from tangerang to get here took really long time, and only not allowed to get inside by pecalang since this place closed many months ago. Really disappointed, only to get picture on first step. I guess i just need to see YouTube to know why really inside. Should they update for tourist so people will know they already closed
Imam G — Google review
This is biggest Balinese temple in Tamansari, Bogor. But we only allowed to enter until its hall, since the place after the stairs is only for people who want to pray or do ceremonies. There also some small dining places which sell same items, like teri kecombrang, vegetables, rice, etc.

Nice Hindu temple. Must wear coverings over legs - women and men as well. No shorts

Gangnam is the best place in Cilegon. The place is clean, the therapists are friendly, and the massage is high-quality. You won't be disappointed with a massage at Gangnam. And on weekdays there is a discount of up to 20% for all treatments 🥹
Yanti C — Google review
Very calm and relaxing enviroment especially if you are a hindu, clean restroom, mangnificent view, large parking spots adds all to the already good temple. The only downside is this temple located a bit far from bogor and only has one way access providing a bit of a hassle because, there are many tour bus using the road couoled with narrow road. Aside from that cons, for hindu who looking for visiting this temple any accommodation like foods, canang, banten, incense stick, and lighter are easy to find because there is many vendors nearby.

One of the biggest Pura in Indonesia, it is open for visitor with restriction in the praying area. Its sacred only for the Hindus. Visitor needs to meet the custom and appropriateness in paying respect for the Hindus rituals...

Nangka Waterfall

Mentioned on
4 lists
Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Nangka Waterfall is a picturesque natural attraction nestled in a forested area. It features several smaller waterfalls and one larger cascade, with a small pool at the bottom for visitors to enjoy. The waterfall stands at approximately 25 meters tall and maintains a steady flow even during dry seasons. To reach the waterfall, visitors must traverse a calm and shaded river, making it an ideal spot for families seeking adventure. However, reaching the waterfall requires physical fitness as it involves trekking along rocky terrain.
A great place for healing, also suitable for families, and for physical exercise due to the challenging access, yet still safe for children. Great photo spots and crystal clear water. Ticket prices are also affordable.
Muhamad R — Google review
Parking was easy. Staff very friendly. We were accompanied on our hike by two little four legged dog guides and a two legged human guide. Hiking route is well developed pathway. There is some walking in the river, sandals or water shoes are recommended. Swimming in the big waterfall was cool and refreshing. We had fresh and snacks at the restaurant near the parking when we arrufes back. Highly recommend 👍👍
Dan K — Google review
It's not too far from Bogor Station. Easy tracking but slipery. Bring your another clothes if you want to swim because the water and ambience was really fresh. But be careful of monkeys there.

One of my favorite waterfall in Bogor. It's not far from city center.

It’s Amazing Natural Beauty and Monkeys. Would like to Visit again on my next Trip.

Nangka waterfall is main gate to discover nature environment 😁 Around you can see 3 or 4 another waterfalls 🥰 It's great for family trip for all day 😃 You will walk like 3 - 5 km depends what you want to see. Sometimes on the weekend it's a little bit crowded place. You can see 🙈 animals. Be careful monkey can be aggressive 🐒 and wants to steel you food 🥑🥝 I tried fish massage, it was nice 👍 Or what is correct names Enjoy your weekend 😊 Around is a lot of attraction check my another review's 😉 If you want to know more about Indonesia follow my Instagram or TikTok @trip.jakarta
Tomáš K — Google review
Pros: good view, clean & fresh water Cons: bad public toilet, watchout extra slippery stair & no handlebar, some pathway are broken Its normal when you found monkey poop, in this are we meet some monkeys Ticket 45K, parking 15K
Khairul R — Google review
Good place for family trip Curug nangka has a height of approximately 25 meters. The water discharge always flows and will never run out even though it is in the dry season. There are several vegetation that live in this area so that it adds to the beautiful scenery. In addition, there is a small river that must be traversed if you want to reach this area. This river is the only way to the waterfall. The water is quite calm and shady, so it's easy to walk through. Not too far from Curug Nangka, there are two more waterfalls that are approximately 1 km away. The names are Curug Kawung and Curug Daun, both of which have smaller discharge so they are less impressive as photo spots. Getting to this place did require special strength. Because you have to conquer the fatigue of walking far from the entrance to the waterfall area. But feeling tired will be refracted by the extraordinary beauty of the waterfall. In addition, you will also be accompanied by wild animals, namely monkeys Please beware of them don't try simply to feed them or disturb them they will attack you in groups There are memories monument too for those beloved friends who died in curug nangka it's yesser arafat monument you can see on the picture

Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The Kubah Mas Mosque in Depok is a grand structure surrounded by lush greenery and adorned with shining golden domes and minarets. Its colonnaded courtyard offers a picturesque view for visitors. A popular destination for tourists, the mosque provides comfort and cleanliness to all who visit. It is especially serene during morning prayers (Subuh) or evening prayers (Ashar until Isya). The mosque's excellent upkeep reflects the dedication of its management to maintaining such an exceptional site.
Such a beautiful mosque to go & visit. Was extremely peaceful, the mosque is well maintained and really clean. Would definitely recommend visiting. You don’t need tickets to enter, it is free of charge. Parking is limited.
Iman 2 — Google review
It's called as a Golden Kubah Mosque. It provides a lot of parking place and fruit trees. There're different entry door for men and women. The car parking is 15K Rupiah.
Mishbahuddin, M — Google review
The mosque is spacious and comfortable for praying. Located on the edge of Jalan Raya Meruyung. It is not difficult to find this mosque. Large parking area for both motorbikes and cars. Cleaning ablution places and bathrooms. Tried i'tikaf here a few times and very comfortable. May Allah always bestow blessings on the congregation who worship in this mosque. Amen.
Rachmad B — Google review
Awesome mosque, masyaaAllah😍. Nice ambience. Great indoor and outdoor areas. There was an entry ticket for one car about 15K. the information about male and female door entry was given by paging by a staff there. You can leave your shoes or sandals at the sandal storage area which is under the stairs near the ablution area, and also the staff are there. There was a "pungli" in the parking area, even they said "seikhlasnya", but i think it's not nice and not suitable to be in the mosque area. Very clean area but I saw a plastic garbage still threw on the grass by the earlier guest i think. Please, please, please, throw your garbage in the dustbin, let's keep our area and country clean from the trash.
D.K. W — Google review
Grand big mosque with a huge lawn (around 70Ha) and that's all about it. Tbh the design looks quite tacky, with gold dome but doesn't look match. The grass is maintained ok and there are lots of flower pots randomly placed in the yard. It's such a touristy spot coz I saw several buses from villages coming in and out. Huge parking area and if you drive a car, they charge 15K/Car at the entrance gate.
Mo's — Google review
The place is so big and equipped with facilities for a big group tourists. I only paid for the vehicle parking and no retribution for this place. The Mosque is well maintained, everything inside is so clean and neat. The outside lawn is very well maintained too, the plants and grass field all in a good condition. The workers also selling the harvested fruits from the plants inside the mosque area. Really appreciated the owner for making such a good place.
Marsya N — Google review
Imagine your local-nouveau-riche-juragan's conception of what a good and beautiful mosque should look like, then imagine it manifested inside a 70ha complex of strange uninspiring pires and uncanny marble-filled halls and empty parks with surprising amount of flower pots inside. The architecture feels really gaudy and tacky, but not in a "new, just renovated, with significant donation effort organized by local dewan kemakmuran masjid" or "old, with different styles but thoughtfully built on top of one another" mosque kind of way, but in a "i have so much money but so little taste but i want that amal jariyah flowing" mosque kind of way. The columns are a bit of a mess, the geometric patterns (which the old masters used to inspire people of the beauty of god's creation) here truly offend your innate god-given pattern-seeking sensibilities, the arabic scripts used for the holy scripture are not consistent at all. There's just no unified message that this mosque want to give to you. And as a pedestrian, you can see that this mosque is not constructed to build a long-lasting and lively and vibrant religious community. It is amazing to see that the parks are empty, the only people that can be seen there are tourists or the "management" (no no they are of course too fancy to be called DKM, mind you). This is what you get when you have overly top-down planning with a focus only on buildings but not on the people using them. You KNOW for a fact that the planners of this mosque don't walk around at all. (developmentalisme suharto bla bla bla) As a place of worship, the experience was good, and the HVAC system plays a lot of role in that (again, building not people). But that is what you'd expect of similarly built mosques as well, so nothing really special. I give this place 2.25 stars (dislike it, but alright if you want to visit it at least once if you don't have anywhere else to go).
Fawwaz A — Google review
What's the special thing in here? It's the golden dome of the mosque. Yes, it's a truly one. No paints at all. The stunning one. The golden issues with a massive area instead of its neighbours. This mosque is located away from the downtown. The road traffic is jammed on the narrow one. What I love in here is the garden of flowers has been surrounding the great mosque. It's a lovely view to see. The architecture is also mesmerizing. A worth place to praying and see the differences. Please welcome here!

Gambir Station

Mentioned on

Train station
Sights & Landmarks
Architectural Buildings
Gambir Station, located in Central Jakarta, Indonesia, is a striking example of the city's architectural heritage from the Dutch colonial era. This neoclassical-style station boasts grand columns, an intricate facade, and an impressive dome. Serving as a central transportation hub and a gateway to Indonesia's railway network, Gambir Station has been an integral part of Jakarta since 1871.
The train station that has been very helpful in sending millions of people to various destinations. Various restaurants, cafes and food outlets with affordable prices are also available here. Likewise with mosques and transit hotels. Various modes of transportation to go to various destinations in Greater Jakarta are also easy. Things that need to be improved are the cleanliness of the toilets and areas inside the station. Things that need to be improved: (1) more chairs and departure waiting room areas; (2) the Executive Waiting Room should be improved and expanded and the number of chairs increased; and (3) the number of toilets and showers increased.
Taufik W — Google review
Gambir Station is one of the main intercity train stations located in Central Jakarta. It’s well-organized, clean, and offers lots of restaurant options, coffee shops, and even grab-and-go snacks like bread or gimbab to take with you on the train. You can pretty much find everything you need at Gambir — from ATMs, neat seating areas, prayer rooms (mushola), plenty of clean restrooms, to phone charging spots. Really hope Indonesia’s trains keep getting better and cooler! 🚈🚈🛤️🛤️💺💺 There’s also a big parking area, lots of taxi and public transport options, and wheelchair access is available too.
Sparkly F — Google review
I recently visited Gambir Station while waiting for the Panoramic Train and would rate it 3 out of 5. The lounge itself was comfortable, but the food and drinks served there were just okay — nothing special. The station is functional and centrally located, which makes it convenient for travelers. However, the security officers seemed lazy and unhelpful; when I needed assistance or information, they offered very little guidance. While the facilities are standard and the lounge provides a decent waiting area, the overall experience is held back by the inattentive staff. Improving the helpfulness of security personnel and upgrading the lounge refreshments would make Gambir Station a much more pleasant place to wait for trains.
Milla A — Google review
I’ve using Gambir Station for few times. It actually pretty good! From the restroom, water refill station, and so on! But, i think the parking lot is not enough for this main station at Central Jakarta, they should’ve add more parking lot and make the drop off passenger smoother. The AC well, not cold enough, but it’s tolerable (for me) since the AC is old and it’s so spacious that the AC couldn’t handle it. Otherwise Gambir Station is really good for main station quality!
Shiroko — Google review
Modern and well-maintained train station located in the heart of Jakarta. It serves as a major transportation hub, connecting the city to various destinations throughout Indonesia. The station offers a clean and comfortable environment for passengers. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing assistance with ticketing and information. The facilities at Gambir Station are impressive, including waiting areas, restrooms, and food outlets. There is also a convenient location for taxis and other transportation options.
Hartono H — Google review
This station DOES NOT serve Bogor Line!! Even if the station looks like it's a part of it on Google Maps. You do not need to walk or ride to the next station, there's a TransJakarta bus station outside that you can use to get around instead. Otherwise, the station is well maintained and all the essential facilities are there. The toilet is impressively clean for Indonesian standards. They have lockers for you to store your stuff too.
Yuhng Y — Google review
I visited Gambir Train Station to pick up my family returning from Solo. The station is always crowded, but overall the waiting area is already quite good and comfortable. However, the drop-off area is too small, and the car queue management is not well-organized. It would be great if this part could be improved to make passenger pickup and drop-off smoother.
Andri S — Google review
Gambir Station is very accessible and located in the heart of Jakarta, central Jakarta. It is close to many public places and offices. The station is very well-maintained. You can see how clean and manageable the Station is. Direction and instruction are clearly written, so you just need to follow the the direction on where you should go. The toilet is also very clean. There are shops and restaurants inside the station so you can grab some foods or other things you need before leaving the station. There is also waiting room with many chairs close to exit gate, so you can wait for your pick up there without standing outside.

Shopping
Grand Indonesia is a vibrant shopping destination located in the heart of Jakarta, offering an impressive array of brand-name shops and dining options. This modern mall features spacious hallways that may take some time to navigate, but once you find your way, you'll discover a delightful mix of high-end boutiques and casual eateries. Don't miss the captivating fountain show or the chance to catch a movie at its theater. For those looking for unique souvenirs, nearby markets like Jalan Surabaya provide additional shopping opportunities.
During my visit to Jakarta, I spent an afternoon at Grand Indonesia Mall—a vast, well-designed space that blends global brands, local boutiques, and diverse dining options. A standout moment was when I accidentally left an envelope with local currency in a store. Thanks to the prompt support from the concierge and security team, it was quickly recovered. Their professionalism and care left a lasting impression, making the experience both memorable and reassuring.

You can eat, rest, shop, exchange money, and there are luxury hotels nearby. It is located in the middle of the city center, and it is easily accessible by taxi and bus. The price is a bit higher than the local area, and it seems to be the name value of the area. There are various restaurants to choose from, which is convenient. The foreign language skills and kindness of the staff are impressive.

Absolutely amazing! This mall is huge, lively, and has everything you could possibly want — from local and international brands to endless dining options. With its East and West towers, it’s easy to spend hours exploring, and even after two visits I still didn’t see it all. A definite must-visit in Jakarta!
Shaikha B — Google review
One of the largest and most popular mall in Jakarta and Indonesia, hence the name "Grand". Two malls east and west connected with a sky bridge which is a mall itself. A complete mall with eveything you need or dont need to buy when you want to spend some cash. Can be super packed and overcrowded during weekends and public holiday and parking is a disaster during these times. But overall this is obe of the best mall in Jakarta
Rony Z — Google review
Grand Indonesia Mall is more than just a shopping center, it’s a complete lifestyle and cultural destination in the heart of Jakarta. With a perfect blend of modern luxury and Indonesian charm, this mall offers something for every kind of visitor. From high-end fashion boutiques and global brands to local stores and unique finds, shopping here is a pleasure. The dining options are equally impressive, featuring a wide range of cuisines from across the world, as well as beloved local dishes. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, with clean, well-maintained spaces and a welcoming ambiance. One of the most memorable parts of my visit was Galeri Indonesia Kaya, a hidden gem inside the mall. It’s a beautifully curated cultural space that showcases Indonesia’s rich heritage through interactive exhibits, digital installations, and occasional live performances. It offers a refreshing break from shopping and a meaningful connection to the country’s art and traditions, truly a must-visit for both locals and tourists. The mall is also family-friendly, with entertainment options like CGV cinema, kids' zones, and spacious lounges. Staff were helpful, facilities were spotless, and the overall experience was smooth and enjoyable. Grand Indonesia Mall is not just a place to shop, it's a place to explore, enjoy, and immerse yourself in modern and traditional Indonesian life all at once. Highly recommended.
Farah S — Google review
This is a most amazing modern mall, and its location is very near to our hotel that we went here twice! Its design and tenant mix were comparable to any top commercial mall in KL, giving it a very favorable response from the local and international patrons alike. That day happened to be a public holiday in Jakarta, hence the volume of the visiting crowds were more unusual that on a normal day. We found it out the hard way when we decided to have our dinner here. The Foodcourt was fully occupied, and it caused us some anxious times to eventually secure the table and chairs for our Party of 4. But Daniel was estatic, as he finally managed to sample some foods from the famous "Halal Guys", which had originated from New York.. Well, just like Aulia's famous quote, " Is it halal, guys?..."
Sazali S — Google review
Fantastic restaurant, food is very nice and tasty but portion is not big, for those big eater, can consider order a little bit more. Décor is nice and staffs are very friendly. Take note that the dining time is limited to 2 hours. I will definitely go back. 2 of us spend around Rp550k

The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption is a stunning example of Neo-Gothic architecture, established in 1901. With its three impressive spires and beautifully crafted altars, this Roman Catholic church stands out amidst Jakarta's vibrant landscape. Located near significant landmarks like the Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral, it offers visitors a unique glimpse into Indonesia's diverse cultural tapestry.

The sheer size contributes to a sense of serenity, and the thoughtful layout clearly prioritizes creating an environment conducive to prayer and reflection. The Cathedral of Indonesia. Located just across the Great Mosque of Istiqlal, symbol of peace between two biggest religions in the world, Christianity and Islam. A must visit place in Indonesia.
Eka M — Google review
Jakarta Cathedral ⛪✨, a neo-Gothic gem since 1901, stuns with its twin spires, stained glass, and serene vibe inside. Smaller than Europe’s giants but rich in detail — arches, rose windows, and a grand pipe organ make it a soulful standout. What makes it iconic is its neighbor across the street — Istiqlal Mosque 🕌 — connected by the “Tunnel of Friendship” 🤝. A symbol of harmony, it’s the perfect spot for reflection, culture, and Insta-worthy shots 📸 while feeling Jakarta’s spirit of unity.
Dellawati W — Google review
I'm not a Catholic and came just to sight-see as well as pay respects. The Cathedral is by far one of the most beautiful buildings in Jakarta for me. The Gothic European architecture immediately stands out even from afar, surrounded by contemporary buildings made in younger era. The area is vast, and there's plenty of parking area for cars and bikes. People swarm the cathedral the most on Sundays, and I've heard that it's only open for intended occasions on weekdays. The high ceilings, wooden furniture, carved framings and colorful stained-glass windows make up the beautiful interior. There are plenty of carved statues posted around and inside the building, and they're equally stunning to look at as well. There are several other tourists who came to the area just to look around like me, and we are all in awe of how well thought-out the entire building is. A marvel of an art piece!

Big and impressive for a muslim country, this was built during the colonial days. The govt has good foresight to build a mosque next to a historical church to tell the world of harmony amongst religions. People inside the cathedral was lukewarm. Some ok, some cold and not welcoming.

Istiqlal Mosque

Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the heart of Jakarta, Istiqlal Mosque stands as a magnificent testament to contemporary architecture and is recognized as the largest mosque in Southeast Asia. Completed in 1978, this grand structure can accommodate up to 200,000 worshippers across its four levels. Its stunning marble façade adorned with aluminum details reflects both modern design and cultural significance.
It was my first time here. The mosque is very big and beautiful. This mosque is the biggest mosque in Indonesia. The Istiqlal Mosque was built to its immense size and right next to a church in Indonesia for two main reasons: * A Symbol of Independence and National Pride: The mosque serves as a celebration of Indonesia's independence. As the world's most populous Muslim-majority nation, Indonesia wanted a grand mosque to reflect its status and pride. * A Symbol of Tolerance and Religious Unity: Placing the mosque next to the Jakarta Cathedral was intended to symbolize peaceful coexistence and brotherhood among different religions in Indonesia. This commitment to interfaith harmony was further emphasized by the selection of a Christian architect to design the mosque.

First time visiting Istiqlal Mosque, and I was thoroughly impressed. The guided tour and staff were excellent, and the mosque’s architecture is remarkable. The robes provided for visitors were clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is calm and serene, and the cathedral across the street beautifully reflects Indonesia’s commitment to interfaith harmony.

Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta is a magnificent symbol of peace and spirituality. As the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, its grand architecture, serene atmosphere, and thoughtful design make it a must-visit. The guided tours are informative, and the staff is welcoming to visitors of all backgrounds. A peaceful and awe-inspiring place right in the heart of the city.

Istiqlal Mosque – A Grand Symbol of Indonesia’s Spiritual Unity and Independence Located in the heart of Jakarta, right across from the Jakarta Cathedral and near Merdeka Square, stands the magnificent Istiqlal Mosque — the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and one of the most important religious landmarks in Indonesia. Its name, “Istiqlal,” which means “Independence” in Arabic, reflects its purpose: to celebrate Indonesia’s freedom from colonial rule and to symbolize the spiritual independence of the Indonesian people. Construction of Istiqlal began in 1961 under the leadership of President Soekarno, and the mosque was officially opened in 1978. What makes this mosque particularly special is that it was designed by a Christian architect, Friedrich Silaban, showing the spirit of tolerance and religious harmony in a predominantly Muslim country. The proximity of the mosque to the cathedral is not a coincidence — it’s a powerful message of interfaith unity in Indonesia. As you approach the mosque, you are struck by its monumental scale and modern architectural style. The mosque can accommodate up to 200,000 worshippers, making it one of the largest in the world. Its giant central dome, supported by twelve towering columns, spans 45 meters in diameter — symbolizing the year of Indonesia’s independence (1945). There’s also a beautiful 96-meter minaret, from where the call to prayer echoes through central Jakarta. Once inside, the sense of peace and awe is immediate. The main prayer hall is vast and open, adorned with stainless steel ornaments, Arabic calligraphy, and geometric patterns. The natural lighting that filters through the high windows creates a calm and spiritual atmosphere. Visitors can feel the serenity and grandeur of the space, whether they come to pray, reflect, or simply admire the beauty of the architecture.

🕌 About the Mosque Istiqlal Mosque (Masjid Istiqlal), meaning “Independence Mosque” in Arabic, was commissioned to mark Indonesia’s independence and serve as a national symbol of the country’s spiritual foundation. Construction began in 1961 under President Sukarno and was completed in 1978. One of its most powerful symbols lies in its design, crafted by Friedrich Silaban, a Christian architect, reflecting the country’s commitment to interfaith respect and unity. The mosque is located directly across from Jakarta Cathedral, demonstrating the harmonious coexistence of faiths in Indonesia. 🏛️ Architectural Beauty & Scale Istiqlal Mosque is a true marvel of modern Islamic architecture. Its design blends symbolism with functionality, featuring a massive central dome 45 meters in diameter and a 96-meter-high minaret. The mosque is built almost entirely of polished marble, with grand columns, flowing arches, and intricate geometric patterns that echo Islamic artistic heritage. The mosque has the capacity to accommodate over 120,000 worshippers at once, a testament to its scale and significance. The vast main prayer hall, the spacious courtyards, and the ambient natural light filtering through the structure create a serene and majestic atmosphere that fills the heart with awe and peace.

Definitely worth a visit, though more for its sheer size than its beauty. (Non-muslim) visitors can get a free 20-minute guided tour through the complex after registration at the information desk. Note that the last tour leaves at 16h30 (see schedule in the photos)

Finally I got here. This mosque is impressive, has huge area and clean. There is a place to store sandals and shoes, power bank rental as well. Security guards are always on guard at the entrance and exit. This mosque has strategic location due to near Monas, Monument National Indonesia and other public facilities.

Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta is grand and peaceful, a must-visit when in the city. What stood out most was the Tunnel of Friendship that connects it to the nearby cathedral, symbolizing unity and interfaith harmony. A beautiful blend of architecture and meaning!

Nestled in the heart of Merdeka Square, the National Monument, or Monas, stands as a striking obelisk dedicated to Indonesia's hard-fought independence from Dutch colonial rule. Towering at 132 meters, this iconic structure was envisioned by Sukarno, Indonesia's first president, who drew inspiration from Paris’s Eiffel Tower. Construction kicked off in 1961 and culminated with its public opening in 1975.
The iconic landmark of Jakarta. I visited it during the weekends and it can get pretty crowded. To access the observation deck, foreigners will have to pay 55k, which includes a Jakarta city card that will be used when accessing the elevator. The card can later be used in various facilities in Jakarta too. They limit the number of visitors that can access the observation deck each hour, so you will have to queue for it when it's busy. Apparently you cannot pre-book the slots of the next few hours, I tried it and they won't allow me, they will automatic queue you in to the latest available slot. I had to wait for 1.5 hours until my session begins on a Saturday afternoon. Expect to queue at the elevator (both going up & down) for some time as it can only carry 7-10 people per time, and it's very slow. The observation deck is very small and crowded, but the views are pretty nice, a 10 minute stay will suffice. There's also an interesting diorama at the ground floor of the monument that showcases the history of Indonesia. Definitely a good read if you're interested.

National Monument (Monas) is a powerful symbol of Indonesia’s fight for independence. Standing tall at 132 meters, it features a golden flame at its peak and Italian marble cladding, designed to evoke national pride. Inside, the museum brings history to life with 50+ dioramas highlighting key moments like the colonial era, the declaration of independence, and early struggles. Climbing to the observation deck rewards visitors with sweeping 360° views of Jakarta’s skyline, while the spacious Merdeka Square surrounding Monas invites a peaceful stroll. A visit to Monas offers both a tangible link to Indonesia’s past and a fresh perspective on the modern city.

To start my driver told me this was free to enter. I thought you only pay to go to the top, but no you pay for entry regardless of if you go to the top. I also thought I would be dropped off at the monument, but the way it is set up you have quite a walk from drop off to entry. Even getting to the monument I had to walk to the other side to find the entrance across the street and take stairs leading to a tunnel that finally got me to the monument. The diorama inside are fine very well. I loved looking at all the detail and there are a lot of them. However, when you finish that then there's nothing else to do but go to the top and overlook the city. Then you take a long walk in the heat to leave the monument. I am happy I saw it, but it was not a great experience. I wouldn't go back. If I had a person with me who hasn't been is rather tell them to go alone and meet back with me later.

A must-visit for anyone in Jakarta! Monas is an incredible monument commemorating Indonesia's struggle for independence. The museum at the base is very informative, filled with engaging dioramas that walk you through the country's history. Climbing to the top offers a fantastic panoramic view of the entire city. Truly a powerful symbol of national pride and resilience.

Vast public space for public gatherings, parade and such similar events. Good place to chill, jog, run and walk for exercise. So big that one, not the locals, can easily lose his or her sense of direction.

Third time to Monas. Hopefully the Museum itself would have renovation to be more modern, soa many people will come and enjoy beside going up to the Monas.

It was good. It's been ticked off my bucket list. Wouldn't fly here just to see it. But, glad I saw it and went to the top. There is a 2hr wait on weekends of course. Even with the rain it was still an amazing view. Thanks to my Samsung I was able to remove people from all the pictures.
Chad M — Google review
Have to pay to go to the top. One hour wait time in no air conditioned area as temperatures reach 31celsius. Next time will reserve online prior to arrival. Fees are low cost and it seems like a great experience. Just expect it to be hot and a bit of walking. Otherwise, it is an impressive structure and everyone is nice. I felt safe and my girls enjoyed looking around

The National Museum of Indonesia, affectionately known as the Elephant Museum, is a treasure trove of historical and archaeological wonders nestled in the heart of Jakarta. This cultural gem showcases an impressive array of artifacts, including ceramics, statues, and coins that span various eras. With its strategic location near iconic landmarks like Istiqlal Mosque and Gereja Cathedral, it’s an ideal stop for anyone exploring the city.
It is a museum you should visit. For foreigners it costs 50.000 Indonesian. It is huge. On ground floor there is a garden full of statues. There is also a basement with cafe. On ground floor you can find the souvenir store. There are another 2 floors. Well air conditioned. I liked the light and the decoration. Very interesting things to see there. You should come and visit it. Also there is the park and the mosque next to it. You can visit them at the same time.

If you look forward to validation of what you study as a student, a teacher or a history enthusiast, the National Museum is where to go. Its array of exhibits is so wide that every piece will connect to the one next to it. Dominated by the findings in the ruins of ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples of Central and East Java, they are by no means limited only to Java. East Borneo, among others, also has a contribution on its own. The expo chamber of the museum is the venue for daring and yet encouraging ideas of present Indonesia. It says Indonesia has always existed and will always exist and thrive in the spirits of conservation and refinement.

Visited the National Museum of Indonesia with my husband and our 8-month-old baby boy. The place was clean and spacious, and the exhibitions were well-curated and informative. I really appreciate the staff — they were super friendly and helpful 🥹🤍 It was raining that evening, and they kindly helped us walk from the parking area to the museum. Kudos to them! Overall, such a pleasant and educational family outing.

I had a wonderful time visiting the National Museum. I especially loved the garden of statues. I noticed a lot of the statues were from Java. I thought the museum was nice but here are some things I think need to be heavily improved on. 1. I hated the fact the purchases were all cashless (museum tickets, gift store, additional tickets) 2. This is the first museum in my life where I had to pay extra to go into the additional rooms. I find it insane it’s not included in the main ticket (or was asked as an add-on when buying the ticket in the first place). I did get into one of these paid exhibits and it was very mid. I also found it insane you had to book an additional ticket with Traveloka for another exhibit and that there was no option to purchase it at the museum. 3. The museum was quite empty and while the exhibits present were nice (except one with some weird French modern art and the photo gallery) I do wish there was more as many space seems under utilized. Would’ve loved to see an exhibit going through all the main islands of indonesia for example. Overall while I think it was worth a visit and I did love some aspects of the museum, this is not a museum I’d want to return to.

During my trip to Jakarta, I had the chance to visit the Indonesia National Museum, and I’m so glad I did. From the outside, the museum looks grand and welcoming, with its beautiful colonial-style architecture and quiet courtyard. It felt like stepping into a different time. As I walked through the exhibits, I was amazed by how much there was to see — from ancient statues and traditional clothing to artifacts from different islands across the country. One of the highlights for me was the gold and jewelry section, which showcased the incredible craftsmanship of Indonesia’s past civilizations. I also loved the ethnographic displays — they really opened my eyes to the diversity of cultures across the archipelago. Everything was well-organized, and the descriptions were in both Indonesian and English, which made it easy to understand. It’s a peaceful and educational place that gives you a real sense of Indonesia’s rich history. If you’re in Jakarta and want to learn more about the country beyond the tourist spots, this museum is definitely worth a visit.

PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE ARTIFACTS!!! I truly enjoyed this museum. The design has a good flow and the exhibits are well curated with information plaques that read in Indonesian and English. One big issue I have with this museum is the lack of education and security regarding our collective duty to preserve the amazing sculptures on the ground floor. Despite clearly posted signs, many people are touching and leaning on sculptures, some over 1000years old. Parents encourage children to touch and tug on statues with many showing signs of contemporary damage. The smooth blackened stone is from the oils of the hand irrevocably damaging the sculptures. If you choose to visit this museum please show respect not only to the ancient craftsmen, but also to the future generations to come. Please refrain from damaging the cultural heritage of Indonesia 🇮🇩.

A must-visit spot in Jakarta! Museum Nasional Indonesia is a great place to explore the rich history and culture of Indonesia. The collection is impressive from prehistoric artifacts and traditional textiles to royal treasures and ancient statues. Everything is well organized, and the building itself has beautiful colonial architecture 😍 What I liked most was the peaceful atmosphere and the new immersive gallery (ImersifA Room) which brings history to life in a modern way. The staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, and the ticket price was very affordable. It’s also family-friendly and perfect for students or tourists who want to learn more about Indonesia in one place. Some areas are still under renovation due to a previous fire, but most of the main exhibitions are open and worth seeing. Highly recommended if you're in Jakarta and want a meaningful, cultural experience!

Fatahillah Old Town Museum, also known as Jakarta Old Town or Old Batavia, offers a glimpse into the Dutch colonial city during the 17th to 18th Century. This historical tourist attraction in Jakarta is always bustling with visitors eager to explore its various museums such as the Jakarta History Museum, Wayang Museum, Fine Art and Ceramic Museum, Maritime Museum, and Museum Bank Indonesia.
Amazing to tour around and understand a deeper history of Indonesia and its culture. Absolutely must see for all tourists even if you get charged the double the price because you're discriminated against for being a tourist. Took a lot of time. Went with a well informed guide that carefully and with great detail went through each room, showing things that you would absolutely miss without the guide. To see a dining table that was cut from one piece of wood was fascinating. The rich and how they waste their money. Times don't change that's for sure!

Visiting the Jakarta History Museum was a captivating journey through time. Situated in the heart of the old city, its location in a historic building added to its unique charm. The exhibits were fascinating, offering a glimpse into Jakarta's rich history. However, I couldn't help but feel that the artifacts deserved a more climate-controlled environment with air conditioning, especially given the tropical climate. Nonetheless, it was a memorable experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in delving into Jakarta's past. Additionally, they have a nice souvenir shop, perfect for taking home a piece of Jakarta's history.

The cinema, supermarket, and family-friendly facilities make it more than just a shopping mall—it’s really a complete destination for all ages. Parking is large and well-organized, though it can get busy on weekends. Overall, SMS has a vibrant atmosphere, plenty of choices, and events that keep things exciting. Definitely one of the must-visit malls in Tangerang!

Very disappointing experience. The motorcycle parking has been moved far away from the mall, even outside the main area. It feels like management does not value visitors who come by motorcycle, as if they are considered less important customers. In reality, many nearby residents prefer to come by motorcycle because it is more convenient — but now the parking area is far, dark, and without any roof or shelter from the rain on the way to the mall. Even worse, there are no clear signs or directions from the new motorcycle parking area to the mall, or vice versa, making it confusing and frustrating for visitors. For a mall of this size and reputation, it is unacceptable to neglect the comfort and safety of motorcycle users. I sincerely hope that management will take this feedback seriously and provide better, safer, and more convenient parking facilities for motorcycle visitors.

Scientia Square Park in Tangerang is a sprawling urban oasis offering a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. The park features a jogging track, climbing wall, koi farm, skate park, and ping-pong center amidst lush greenery and manicured gardens. Families can enjoy the colorful butterflies at The Metamorphosis of Butterfly area while kids can delight in the water fountain, trampoline, and encounters with animals like rabbits, buffalo, and ponies.
The SQP park is not very big to explore and not small either. It's just perfect park to sightseeing and bring our kids. They can interact with various animals. There is also water park for kids, swimming pool and a clean toilet. You will receive a bunch of vouchers at the entrance gate. We were having a good time at SQP Park. Unfortunately it was raining when we visited, so there is no train, glider and any other activities. Also all the animals was inside their cages. You can come out and come in as you please in one day using the barcode at your wristband ticket. So don't worry if you want to leave the park for a moment. I recommend SQP to family with kids. They will love it.

If you’re looking for a fun, fresh-air kind of day out—Scientia Square Park is THAT spot! I came during a holiday morning around 6–7 AM and got the early bird ticket for 1/4 the normal price (yes, that’s real!). Super worth it! First off, it’s kids and pets friendly—so you’ll see happy toddlers and furry friends everywhere. The park is full of little gems: cute animals, birds, alpacas (!!), and pony horses that are too adorable to handle. There’s also a rock climbing/wall climbing zone, swings, and a flower garden that’s IG-worthy. Bonus: they give you a Rp10K voucher for snacks, so I used mine for popcorn and tebu. For adrenaline junkies, I paid an extra Rp50K for access to the glider and ninja warrior-style obstacle activities, so fun! There’s even a skatepark for skateboarders and rollerbladers to roll free. Extra wholesome point: every Friday, people above 50 years get in for free and can enjoy activities like yoga. Love that for them. Also saw a foam party for kids that looked super fun All in all, it’s a packed playground for all ages. Come early, stay long, and enjoy every zone!

Overall, this park is a fantastic place to spend quality time with family. It’s especially great for kids, with plenty of activities to keep them entertained from playgrounds and rock climbing to a pool and even animals to see. There’s a wide variety of things to do, so everyone can find something they enjoy. I'd say it’s definitely worth the ticket price for the experience you get.

A nice spot to visit with family, especially if you have little ones. At first, I thought the area would look big from the outside, but surprisingly, the first section you’ll see is mostly the food stalls. You actually have to walk further inside to enter Scientia Square Park itself. When I visited, there was a Pay 2 Get 3 ticket promo, so that was a great deal! Kids below 85cm enter for free, which is a bonus for parents with toddlers. Inside, there are plenty of activities to keep children entertained — from seeing animals up close to riding the mini “train” (with tickets), and if you get tired from walking, you can just sit back and enjoy some free fishing for a little break. I genuinely hope the animals here are well cared for and not just placed as an attraction for visitors. Overall, it’s a pleasant place for a family day out, especially for kids to explore, learn, and have a bit of outdoor fun.

The PERFECT CHEAP ANY DAY getaway from your life. My friends and I went here on a weekday and the entry ticket was just Rp. 50,000, and we got the roll glider add-on for an extra Rp. 20,000. The ticket includes unlimited exits and re-entries for the day; it was a wonderful deal. The purchase includes free coupons for rental scooter, balance bike (both exclusively for little children), fish scooping, and fishing club activities, as well as vouchers for F&B products that do not equate to cash; one must spend money at the F&B stations and the voucher functions merely as a discount. There are lots of animals that are eager to have your presence and pictures with, tons of great picture spots and animal interaction opportunities, accompanied by a green environment and a breezy weather (got lucky). The grassy environment surrounded by kind animals grazing and enjoying our presence really sets a pleasant mood, with also thrilling experiences with the parkour-y areas such as the wall climbing station and the very secure cable climbing area, which evidently supported a 6’0 185lbs person in a sudden fall. The children’s play areas were also a great highlight, although my friends and I don’t classify as children any more to enjoy them We really loved the beautiful, cute, and thrilling experiences of this park. The staff here were one of the GREATEST staff members of the entire hospitality industry, second to XXI cinemas. The staff were all friendly and eager to help, assisting me and my friends in all our inquiries and needs with a smile on their faces. We did not get to enjoy the roll glider due to technical difficulties with them, and we were disappointed to have spent an extra Rp. 20,000 on the tickets we couldn’t use. Amazingly, the cashier staff were very kind and understanding of our situation to refund the money we spent on the add-on. Thank you kind staff! 5 stars like we promised!

Supermal Karawaci

Shopping mall
Shopping
Antique Stores
Supermal Karawaci is a vibrant shopping center that offers a wide range of amenities and entertainment options. It boasts an expansive food court, a cinema showing the latest movies, and regular events to keep visitors entertained. Families with children will appreciate the various play areas available, as well as the convenient hypermarket for all their shopping needs. The mall also features diverse dining options, refreshing beverages, trendy fashion outlets, and abundant choices in electronics.
Supermal Karawaci is a must-visit for anyone in the area who loves shopping! This massive mall has it all – a huge variety of shops, countless restaurants that even has like a Japan food only section, and even an incredible Timezone arcade with an indoor roller coaster that brings a lot of excitement. The mall’s layout is spacious and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to navigate despite its size. The Grab pick up is also easy for cars to pick up passengers safely and it’s convenient for both drivers and passengers. One of the highlights during my visit was the outdoor area, where they were hosting a Thai Food Festival. Whether you're looking to shop, dine, or enjoy some family-friendly entertainment, Supermal Karawaci has something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit!

Decent selection of FnB, better parking area, and not too crowded. However, it was really hot, I can’t feel the aircon in most part of the mall. Confusing operating hours, some gate and store are supposed to open from 7/8am (as stated in the information sticker on respective gate), but some security members weren’t allowing customer to go through until it’s 10am sharp. I don’t know why but that’s kind weird, because that’s mean they’re being contradictive with information stated. Please resolve this matter quickly, as a customer I don’t feel comfortable with that inconsistency.

Supermal Karawaci is one of the most well-known shopping malls in Tangerang, and it truly lives up to its reputation. The mall is spacious, clean, and very well-maintained, making it comfortable to walk around even during peak hours. It has a wide variety of stores ranging from international fashion brands to local shops, along with a good selection of restaurants and cafés that cater to all tastes. The cinema and entertainment areas are also great options for families or friends looking for leisure activities. What I appreciate most is the convenient layout and the many entrances, which make access easier even when the mall is crowded. Parking is ample and organized, though it can get busy on weekends. Overall, Supermal Karawaci is not just a place for shopping, but also a lifestyle destination where you can spend the whole day enjoying food, shopping, and entertainment in a clean and comfortable environment.

Found a cute phone case shop, where the phone cases are fitted with beads. Located on the E-Center, UG/G3 Floor. You can choose the case and bead design. Price is 85,000 Rupiah, with an additional 15,000 Rupiah for colored beads. You can wait 20 minutes for the beads to be installed.

Bodies of Water
Telaga Biru Cisoka is a collection of small lakes situated in Cisoka, Banten, near Kota Tigaraksa. These picturesque lakes were formed from sand excavation at a former quarry and have become a popular spot for photography. Visitors can also enjoy the local street food stands that line the area. While some mention an entrance fee, others have not been charged when entering, possibly due to arriving by bicycle.
A lake with water effect like green or blue. Not well managed but something have a beautiful scenery. CMIIW, Thank you
RIZKI S — Google review
Too bad, the water on the lakes isn't blue like i saw at the google. Maybe because when i went there, the sky was cloudy. I asked other people there, they said usually the water on the lakes is blue. So pay attention to the weather if you want to go there. And i think it's easier if you come with your own personal vehicle.

Need more creative spot to attract more Traveller. And the food stall should be relocated back away so as the view is more clean
Pradnya R — Google review
This place is actually unique, offbeat, and relatively cheap. Like Tebing Koja, this place is located far away from mayor road. Road access to this site is really narrow, just enough of one car. Public transportation to there is quite difficult. Formerly a quarry, this site is overrun with scattered food stalls. There are several ponds here, several of them colored turquoise blue. Best come here before noon, because the weather can be really hot at midday.
Cita P — Google review
If you happened to be around Tangerang, visiting this place would be nice. It's only an hour driving to see the blue sky and quiet place. Not much to see tho. The road there are accessible for cars. Entrance ticket 10K IDR plus parking 10K IDR. Boat ride for pictures taking will cost you another 10K.
Claudia W — Google review
It's quite good place to escape from heavy daily activities... With a very wide view of rice field makes it feel closer to nature. Minus: to many parking retribution

Road conditions there are poor. But a good place if you're passing by. Good potential to develop further. Very good for photos and Instagram.

Nice place to take photoshoot. But it needs improvement on access road to the main road and supporting facilities especially restroom, parking area & cafe/restaurant. Also need improvement on safety when riding the boat, it will be better if life jackets were provided.

Pari island

Island
Nature & Parks
Picturesque island with lush nature trails, white-sand beaches & clear waters popular with divers.
Nice and clean destination spot, especially perawan beach. Loved to take some snorkeling journey in here. Has many beautiful coral and fish. But you need to search for homestay if u want stay for couple days.
John A — Google review
Their main attraction, Pantai Pasir Perawan is nice - specially in the morning after the cleaning schedule. The local residents are friendly and chill. Prices are good. The rest of the island tho, just trashy and messy. The bumpy road could be dangerous for cycling, and many kids riding ebike recklessly. Pantai Rengge was originally nice but trashy. They asked for voluntary donation to enter but didn't care of taking care about the cleanliness. I was there during a long weekend so it was on the extreme side of mass tourism without consideration for the environment. The use of single-use plastic food packaging and bottles are worrying. The tourists - all locals, including all the campers, were smoking and littering at the beach and the boat. Government and residents could've set strict rules and example.
Opaq D — Google review
Pari Island is a hidden gem just off the coast of Jakarta. With its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush greenery, it's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The snorkeling and diving opportunities are fantastic, allowing you to explore vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. While the facilities are basic, the natural beauty of the island more than makes up for it. Just a short boat ride away, Pari Island offers a serene retreat for those looking to relax and reconnect with nature.
Gaksa G — Google review
Beautiful island, amazing snorkeling journey with beautiful corals and cute colorful fishes! Cycling here is very nice too. Talking about seafood, damn it's more than delicious, it's addictive. I will definitely come back here. It only took me 2 hours from North Jakarta, affordable tour price. If you come here, make sure you do the travelling. Come to Bintang island also, the stars are beautiful, mangrove is awesome, people are friendly. You may come back to your hometown, but your heart will remains there.
Renata K — Google review
Beautiful island! Recommended🏝 very pretty and clean island. The water has a beautiful blue gradient. You will not regret coming here. Don't forget to snorkel here, there are several stalls here, no need to worry. The toilet is there but sometimes the water comes out very little, so make sure to turn on the tap before taking a shower. I came here for only one day trip, but it was so impressive, I only snorkeled without playing banana boat. The journey from the pier of Muara Kamal is quite far, the travel time is around 2.5 hours. Tiring but really enjoyed every trip. Have fun.
Ervira S — Google review
Pari Island is a small island about 1 hr from Jakarta. The ferry goes from Ancol Marina, but there is only one a day, leaving at 8am and departing about 3.30, so good for a day trip if you don't want to stay overnight. I didn't pre-book my ticket, but that was no problem. I could imagine that on a weekend it could be more of a problem. The Island is small and you can easily walk from one end to the other. I spent most of the day, after exploring, at the beach. I was the only tourist there most of the time. Recommended.
Philip W — Google review
The island is pretty good. There are two beaches that can be visited. There are virgin beaches and star beaches. Virgin Beach is good for swimming, and there are some good photo spots. We can also see the sunrise. At Bintang Beach, we can see and hold sea stars. If you leave too late in the day, sometimes the waves are very big. So always have anti-seasickness medicine ready.
Veiz — Google review
A good destination to release stress that not far from jakarta. White sands, crystal clear water, friendly environment, and the blue sky will let yourself relax for a while. A bit crowd here when you come on weekend. The negative thing is, there are so many guesthouse that not maintained well. However, there still a good one but you have to ensure that yours is the good one so you can enjoy this island better.

A big and historic train station. It isthe station whereyou need a transit to merak by railways. Electric commuter line ended here and you may take the diesel local train to merak. A nice and clean musholla available here. Clean toilet also available. Food stall exist in case of passengers need something to eat.

A very old station, started operation on July 1, 1900! Pretty well-maintained, but, they didn't do much on adding the facilities. Only 2 toilets available (one for each), causing long lines after every arrival. Helpful tenants in the area, mini market, snack (Roti'O), and meal (CFC and Hi Cups).
Pramuaji P — Google review
One of the busiest railway station in Banten. Helpful staff, clean place, fixed schedule. Unfortunately this station is small. Very crowded, many people going to Jakarta from this small station. Need improvement next time.
Rizqy U — Google review
It's the most western station point in Electric Commuter Line. You can go further to Merak by local train from here. One of the historical train stations, as you can see old ornament bulding in here. Since the location near traditional market, the outside station is very crowded and clumpsy. It should be upgraded and renovated more.

Chandler E — Google review
The station is quite comfortable both for waiting for local trains and for KRL to Jakarta. The security guard is also informative in providing information regarding train departures. There are also several food and beverage stands at the station. So when waiting for the train you don't need to be afraid to look for food. There are 2 train services at this station. The first is the KRL with the final destination at Tanahabang station, and the Merak Local Train with the final destination at Merak station. The KRL journey from Rangkasbitung to Tanahabang takes approximately 1 and a half hours. Btw, to make it easier to order tickets, you can use the Kai Access application service. Payment can also be made with QRIS. For KRL itself, use emoney or KMT.

Masjid Agung Banten

Mentioned on

Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Masjid Agung Banten is a 16th-century mosque with a noticeable tower that serves as a reminder of the old port city of Banten. It is an ideal place for a quick escape to pray, although it can be overly crowded at times. The mosque itself is immaculately clean and holds significant religious importance. However, there is room for improvement in managing the surrounding environment to enhance visitors' overall experience.
Lot of historical place, good place for tafakur and tadabbur
ARIF B — Google review
Many issues make the place less appealing: • Many people ask for donations inappropriately (extortion). • There are a lot of people smoking, even though there are many children around. • Street vendors often aggressively push their products, especially those selling children’s toys and photo frames. • Car parking areas are poorly organized, with a fee of 10,000 IDR but no receipt provided. • The umbrella monument tries to imitate Medina, but it’s non-functional; the heat is still unbearable. This place is highly not recommended for local visitors, let alone international tourists.

The hotel is very old and renovation is more than overdue. We had a 2 room villa which has been renovated. But we had a bad smell in our bathroom. The breakfast is less than basic. Nasi Goreng and Mi goreng, some bread and fruits. The best thing is the direct access to the water park.

Cottage hotel, imbued with Waterpark (both private for hotel guest and for paid public) near beach Area. Here's my wooden room stays experiences : Pros: + Very Large hotel complex + not to pricey + unique cottage style, cool AC, large room for wooden room type, + Quite room + toilet has water sprinkler + Friendly staff (except they don't except my lower price proposal) + Restaurant has tasty foods + waterpark for hotel guest only + "private" Beach, defended by wave protector or something..but small area, al lot of trash + Has tasty ayam pecel in front of this hotel, (look for alfa/indomaret) Cons: - toilet has minimum light - noisy geckos, even they hide behind wall paintings - poorly maintained beach area

Great place. First thing I wondered was where to park but you can park right in front of your hotel/villa/house! The room is very nice. There is a place you can kayak right in front of your stay. They have a pool and waterpark. Breakfast is free they serve Ayam, Mie and Nasi. The beach is sort of hard to get to but it’s work the trek. Overall this is very nice and my Wife loves it too. 😃

Stayed for 1 night in Bamboo Village Pros: 1. Private Pool for Hotel guests with nice view 2. Breakfast and Dinner is provided for Hotel guests. 3. Big public water boom. Cons: 1. Lot of mosquitoes inside our room of stay, drainage of the bathroom seems to be the cause. Staff gave us a mosquito spray and it did fix the problem, but shouldn't be like that at the first place. 2. The Beachfront is not maintained well especially on the Bamboo Village side, so many trash laying around, maybe related to point 1. 3. The lack of coordination on Restaurant service, arriving tad a bit late = food already runs out. The quantity should've been estimated better. 4. No hot water line in Bamboo Village, not a huge problem personally but the tap has hot/cold switch, making it only hanging on 1 cold water pipe.
Hans G — Google review
a unique staycation concept, the rooms are like we are entering a unique wooden house on the edge of a lake. the atmosphere at night, moreover, is cool. Unfortunately, it's very regrettable, the beach is not sloping and not comfortable, if we expect to sit on the sand to see the sunset, it seems that we need another location.

The only plus poin of this place is the panorama view to the sea. For the tower itself, not well maintained and so crowded (maybe it was because of new year). Only need Rp 15.000 per pax for entry ticket and it already include one bottle of tea.

This is the landmark we can see when arriving at Bakauheni port. It looks majesty from afar. I visited today, the building looked miserable and dirty though around it had beautiful sea scenery. We needed to bought the ticket for idr 20k at the entrance gate. The ticketing person interviewed us where we came from, what would we do in Lampung, etc. Well, kinda uncomfortable that was none of his business. But good news from another ticketing person, the site was in renovation. I hope the progress goes well and has good result.

Krakatoa

Mentioned on

Krakatoa is a part of the active volcanic island chain in the Sunda Strait and is renowned for its colossal eruption in 1883. This eruption was one of the most significant in history, releasing an immense amount of energy and causing devastating tsunamis that resulted in a high number of casualties. The surrounding waters are warm, resembling bathwater, with beaches featuring black sand.
Hiking up Anak Krakatua is a humbling and unique experience. Spectacular island chain. Best to walk upwind, the north Eastern slope was a good walk upwind of the gas. Be very cautious of the toxic gas and the direction it is blowing. Also the entire volcanic is covered in fine volcanic ash with sulphur in it. Our group of friends all had sore throats for a week or two afterwards as we did not appreciate that it was harmful. There is evidence all around of volcanic eruptions with rocks of all sizes like bomblets, some fairly fresh. Would pay to be wary of eruptions or heightened ash emissions.

Visitited anak Krakatau before they are closed for good. Beautiful view from the top with some effort to reach it. 8/10.
Radityo D — Google review
I decided to book the tour to anak Krakatau on a very short term. It was quite expensive because the tour was for 5 ppl and we were only three. The positive thing was that we got personalised service, special attention and plenty of drinks. The weather was a bit foggy, quite sunny and the sea quiet. Our captain was a very experienced boat driver and our tour guide informative and helpful. He told us some of Krakatoa 's history and showed us the huge machine that measured seismographic and geological activities. Each time you will find Krakatoa and the crater in a different shape. The sea was dirty with plastic trash and the crew needed to stop several times to remove the rubbish from the engine. The boat ride was enjoyable, we saw Rakata island and anak Krakatau from a distance and got very exited as we approached the volcano island. We did a small hike to see the volcano island and then a gentle climb to the sulphur-covered crater. Since the Krakatoa shrank, the caldera was not filled with water. Ana, Villa Stefan's manager and the youngest of us all, had muscle pain for a few days after the hike because she never exercised. Old women like us walk and exercise a lot, so we were just fine after the climb. After the actual tour, we stopped at a small beach on Rakata Island. This island was left over after the huge explosion in the late 19th century causing the whole volcano to be dissolved. Rakata has more vegetation and quite shady to relax. In the afternoon we returned to Carita beach where I parked my car. Beautiful tour I couldn't miss although it was very expensive for 2 people

Pantai Sari Ringgung

Mentioned on

Outdoor Activities
Pantai Sari Ringgung is a delightful destination for those looking to indulge in water sports and beachside dining. Boat trips to a floating mosque and offshore sandbar also make for an adventurous experience. It's an ideal half-day trip location with options such as banana boat rides, island hopping via chartered boats, or simply relaxing at the small café. The viewpoint is accessible by just a 10-minute walk or driving up by car.
When we lived in Lampung, Pantai Sari Ringgung was one of our favorite weekend spots. We often came here with the kids and younger siblings to enjoy the sea breeze and play by the shore. The beach is beautiful, with calm waves and clear water, perfect for family outings. It’s also quite accessible and has nice facilities for visitors. Every visit always brings back fun memories of laughter and sunshine.

Beautiful beach at Pesawaran Lampung.. lot of parking space.. tourist have to pay about 85 thousand rupiah for 5 persons + 1 car.. there is a seafood restaurant in there.. unique floating mosque.. perfect for family holiday.. no hotels or resort.. the road is not so good to go there.. its about 40 minutes from Bandar Lampung..

Reccomended beach in Lampung. Clean, the water is so clear and blue. Around 5 minutes using boat cross to a small islands with beautiful sands and beautiful view. It's so spoil my eyes. Beside that, there is float mosque.

First time visit lampung and went to this beach. Beautiful view from puncak indah. Road still not good and entrance fee little bit expensive for me they charge us Rp.100.000 / car and rent gazebo for Rp.50.000 . No wonder not so many people here . But okelah view very nice

Nice beach. I suggest you to rent a boat to bring you to the snorkeling spots & Pasir Timbul (Risen Sand). Nice corals with plenty of fishes)

Nice view from here. Nice spot actually. Unfortunately, this tourism area are not well organized. Entrance fee is IDR 40.000 for small car, IDR 80.000 for medium car. The road to the beach from the entrance gate is still not good. Not recommend for a sedan. We can rent the gazebo at this beach IDR 100.000 per gazebo (its too expensive I think). There is a toilet and shower room with the rent cost IDR 3.000 per person. Less food stall.

Nice place for a half day trip. you can go to the beach, ride banana boat (quiet short) or charter a boat to the small islands, they have a small Cafe where you can hang out, and there is also a view point which takes you about 10 minutes to walk, you can also take the car to the top
Jerome A — Google review
One of our favorite beaches in Lampung. Not as crowded as the other beaches around here and we usually go here to catch the boat to take us to surrounding islands. Recently we went to Tegal Mas and Tegal Perak island from here, as well as to Pasir Gosong and snorkeling spot in Sari Ringgung. You can easily travel to Tegal Mas island using a designated boat from here as well. It used to be much cleaner. Now it has more attractions like banana boat.

One of the hidden paradise in lampung, the water is cristal clear, there is spot for snorkeling diving camping homestay and dolphin, the minus facility is the toilet is clogged, need to cross the sea and rent a boat to arrive in kiluan, it is about 30-40k/person for rent boat and tikets, recommended

I’ve visited this place many times, I will always give 5 and recommend to everyone! Visit here after hunting some dolphins and we can snorkel
Anandhia X — Google review
If you want to see some of dolphins you can visit this island. You should come in early morning at 5 a.m to see dolphins by small boat.

Went here with my friend, we don't know anything about the transportation there and got scam when in the terminal (lampung). We know something is not right, but we can't help it but paid because we were too scared.. FYI, if you went to kiluan with backpacker kind of thing, please listen: travel is not travel agent like we used to know in Lampung. Travel means shuttle! And if you want to go there you need to found the the travel by asking the local or someone who knows about lampung. Be carefull as there are a lot scammer there. Usually it cost only 100k for one way to kiluan (2015), but when i went there the scammer asked me to paid 300k. We know we got scam after we were in the shuttle and asking the driver itself aabout the actual price. Afterall, kiluan is nice and has many thing to see like the dolphin.

Heritage Path of the 1883 Eruption of Krakatoa - Monumen Krakatau

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Monuments & Statues
The Heritage Path of the 1883 Eruption of Krakatoa - Monumen Krakatau is a significant historical site located in Dipangga Park, Teluk Betung, Bandar Lampung. This monument serves as a poignant reminder of the catastrophic eruption that took place over a century ago. While it stands as an important tourist attraction, it's unfortunate that much of the surrounding area has been transformed into parking for local police.
(Translated by Google) This monument is historical evidence of the enormity of the 1883 eruption of Mount Krakatoa, which is located in the Dipangga Park area, Teluk Betung, Bandar Lampung. This park/monument is one of the tourist destinations in Bandar Lampung. However, it is a shame that the location of this park has now been largely converted into a parking lot for the Lampung Regional Police. We hope that the relevant agencies can restore the function of this park/monument. (Original) Monumen ini bukti sejarah dahsyatnya letusan gunung Krakatau The 1883, yg terletak dikawasan Taman Dipangga Teluk Betung, Bandar Lampung.

I'll give it tree stars, but only because they have one. The size and the placement is a joke looking at the disasters that Krakatau has had on, not only lampung, but the region in itself. 1000 and 1000 of people died or injuried by the outbreak through history. Go and honour the people that lost life, the people that had homes and lifesaving taken away .. remember the past and power of nature. Lampung ... You can do better than that .. right ?

Al-Furqon Great Mosque

Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Al-Furqon Grand Mosque is a prominent Islamic prayer center in Lampung, featuring a brightly painted minaret and nearby food hawkers. The mosque also houses a museum showcasing the spread of Islam in the region, displaying ancient Qur'ans and Islamic manuscripts. With an auditorium for events like weddings, it's one of the largest mosques in the city and offers ample parking.
I crossed the Sunda Strait to get to Sumatra Island from Java Island, and Bandar Laumpung was the first destination for the trip to Sumatra Island in March 2020. The Grand Mosque is located in the city center of Bandar Lampung. The 2nd picture shows that there was a wedding ceremony in the mosque on that day.
