Rajsamand Lake, also known as Rajsamudra Lake, is a 17th-century reservoir surrounded by intricately carved pavilions, making it a popular spot for picnics and boat rides. The lake is located in the city of Rajsamand in the Indian state of Rajasthan, about 67 km away from Udaipur. It has a circumference of 22.
It was a great experience of pigeon feeding and a nandi bull on the lakeside. Here is the facility of boating. A renowned temple of God Dwarkadheesh ji synonyms of lord Krishna. Divine feeling in the temple. Very tasty and healthy prasadam is sold by the temple committee on economic and affordable prices. Rajsamand lake is also known as Rajsamand Lake situated in Rajsamand city 65 km away from Udaipur, Built by Rana Raj Singh. Best place for nature lovers. The lake view is always beautiful at any time of the day which will be good for photography.

Absolutely loved the peaceful vibe here. The detailed marble architecture is incredible, and walking the steps by the water feels like stepping back into old royal history. A must-see.

This place is approx 65 Kms away from Udaipur, towards Jaipur. This Lake is man made, excavation work was commissioned by Maharana Raj Singh, who supported Aurangzeb for his throne and later fought battles for control over his own area.

Hidden gem in small town called rajasmand, the lake offers serene view of the beautiful, clear water.

Rajsamand...the district named after the lake. Here resides... art, nature, history and even literature in marble! Another shining name takes forward the golden chain of Bappa Rawal, Maharana Kumbha, Sanga, Pratap, #Maharana_RajSingh Today's Shabd Yatra is in his name! This Sunday I had the good fortune to visit Rajsamudra Lake, a dam built on the Gomti River by Maharana Raj Singh. An unmatched example of #nature #architecture #devotion #art #literature #tradition and #history! The great #Rajprashasti epic written by royal poet Ranchhod Bhatt Telang on a pal and 50 white stones after 9 marble stairs! These have been affected by the ravages of time, most of which have been covered with nets for protection. Slowly moving in blue behind the white marble Rajsamudra gives a different peaceful feeling. How can one not be captivated by the artworks inside the umbrellas, so much detail!!! Just keep watching! Suitable places for photography Kankroli (Rajnagar) town situated on the Udaipur-Bhilwara highway, located near this huge lake, is actually the district headquarters. Despite it seeming like a small city to me, when I saw the good traffic system, I exclaimed that such a system was not seen even in Udaipur. (What to say about Bhilwara!) Kankroli is the district headquarters of Rajsamand district. Rajasthan: Would it be possible that Rajsamand would be the only district in India in which a place with the name of the district does not exist? After traversing long and narrow streets and asking passers-by, we reached #RajSamudra/#RajSamandJheel. 9 Ghevar Devi, who filled the foundation of this dam near Chowki Pal #Ghevarmata temple is built on the other side, and #Ambamata temple is built on the other side. One can see a glimpse of the great personality of Maharana Raj Singh in this huge lake built at a cost of about Rs 1.5 crore in 1676, exactly 100 years after the famous Battle of Haldighati in 1576. It is 2.82 kilometers (1.75 mi) wide, 6.4 kilometers (4.0 mi) long and 18 meters (59 ft) deep. It was built on the Gomti River, Kelva River and Tali River. It was built by Maharana Raj Singh as an atonement for the human killings he had committed during his life. The name of Maharana Raj Singh is immortal among the great heroes of Mewar, about whom we will know better in the upcoming posts. Coming here you feel like the sea. It was raining yesterday...everything was drenched...the clouds and the sea meeting exactly...we too are drenched...from outside...from within...it will definitely come from the heart...

Rajsamand Lake is a beautiful and peaceful spot — calm, clean, and far less crowded than other tourist places. The water is surprisingly clear, and you can even take a dip if you want. Sitting by the marble steps, watching the sunset, and feeling that breeze is pure peace. No noise, no chaos — just nature and serenity. A must-visit place if you’re tired of city rush and want some real calm..

A must go for avid bird watchers.  You will sight flamingos, stilts, Pelicans , lapwings sandpipers and many more species of birds. Birds abound all round the year but winters are the best time to visit. The lake area has marshy land , so be careful with your choice of shoes. Do take your binoculars and a camera with good quality zoom lenses! And do spend some time at the village talab near the Shiva statue. Cheers!

The Maharani Padmini Palace, situated within the Chittorgarh Fort, is named after Queen Padmini of Chittorgarh. Known for her beauty and intelligence, she played a significant role in the history of the fort. The palace offers a glimpse into this historical figure's life and the events that unfolded during her time.
Padmini Mahal is a beautiful and historically rich monument, visible clearly even from 100 meters away, making it a striking sight. Situated around water, it creates a scenic and serene atmosphere that enhances its charm. I truly wished I could see it from the inside to experience its architectural beauty more closely. The mahal features several well-maintained and clean dasi rooms nearby, which add to its historical feel and authenticity. However, one downside is that the area from where visitors view the mahal is slightly dirty. The management team should take better care in maintaining cleanliness at this spot to preserve the overall experience of such a stunning heritage site.

I had heard the name before, but standing there, looking at the structure and the water around it, gave a much deeper feeling than I expected. The mahal isn’t grand in size, but the calmness of the place speaks volumes. It’s surrounded by a water tank, and the reflection of the old structure in the still water adds to its beauty. I just stood for a while near the railing, looking at the central pavilion and imagining how it must have looked in its prime. There was a guide nearby talking about Rani Padmini’s legendary story, and though I wasn’t part of the group, I overheard enough to feel that mix of pride and sadness Chittorgarh is known for. The story, the view, the silence — all of it made me pause for longer than I had planned. If you’ve already come as far as Sawaliya Seth, it’s really worth spending a little extra time to explore places like this in Chittorgarh Fort. Padmini Mahal may not be the largest monument, but it leaves a quiet impression that stays with you.

We visited Maharani Padmini Palace inside Chittorgarh Fort recently, and it was a truly mesmerizing experience! This stunning palace, steeped in history, is a tribute to the legendary Rani Padmini of Mewar, whose beauty and courage are celebrated in Rajput lore. Built in the 13th century, it sits gracefully by a serene lotus pool, offering breathtaking views of the fort and surrounding hills. The intricate architecture, with delicate jharokhas and stone carvings, transports you to a royal era. The guides shared captivating stories of Padmini’s bravery and the fort’s historic sieges, making the visit unforgettable. The peaceful ambiance was perfect for soaking in the rich heritage.

Padmini Palace, also known as Rani Padmavati Palace, is one of the most iconic attractions inside the Chittor Fort in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Rani Padmini (Padmavati) was a 13th–14th century queen of the Kingdom of Mewar, renowned for her beauty, dignity, and valor. The palace stands as a symbol of her legendary story and the pride of Mewar’s royal heritage. The palace is beautifully designed and is surrounded by water, giving it a serene and almost floating appearance. The reflection of the palace in the water creates a mesmerizing view, making it a perfect spot for photography and sightseeing. Visitors can explore the palace in about 20–30 minutes, and every corner offers a glimpse into the rich history and architectural elegance of that era. An entry ticket is required to visit, and the palace is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The surroundings are clean and well maintained, and the site provides a peaceful environment amidst the historical grandeur of Chittorgarh Fort. Overall, Padmini Palace is a must-visit destination for history lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants to experience the romantic and royal charm of Mewar’s glorious past

Maharani Padmini's Palace is a historic site in Chittorgarh Fort, Rajasthan, associated with the legend of Queen Padmini and her "Jauhar" (self-immolation) to protect her honor from Alauddin Khilji. The three-storied white palace is uniquely situated in the middle of a lotus pool, symbolizing Rajput pride and sacrifice.

The Maharani Padmini Palace is an essential stop within Chittorgarh Fort. You visit not just for the architecture, but to stand at the place where a pivotal, emotional moment in Mewar history is said to have occurred. It's a poignant and beautiful spot that connects you deeply to the valor and legends of Rajasthan. The Legend: The palace is the central location for the tragic and iconic tale of Rani Padmini, Maharana Ratan Singh, and Sultan Alauddin Khilji. The entire site is imbued with the story of the queen's defiance and the subsequent Jauhar (ritual mass self-immolation) of 16,000 Rajput women. Visitors come primarily to connect with this powerful history of honor and sacrifice. The Mirror Chamber: The most famous attraction is the small pavilion area from where Alauddin Khilji was allegedly permitted to glimpse Rani Padmini's reflection in a mirror (or the pool water), which led to his obsession and the eventual siege of the fort. This specific spot is often a key point of narration for guides. 2. Architectural Highlights Jal Mahal Concept: The palace is a unique, three-storied white stone structure surrounded by a beautiful lotus pond/water moat. This architectural feature—a palace surrounded by water (Jal Mahal)—was a distinctive Rajput style, and Padmini Palace is considered one of its early and finest examples, designed to keep the interiors cool during summer. Aesthetic: The architecture is characterized by its elegance and distinctly feminine style, with delicate arches, intricate carvings, and chhatris (domed pavilions) crowning the roof. Its simplicity, combined with the serene water setting, creates a quiet, contemplative atmosphere.

The legend of Rani Padmini is one of the most poignant tales in Indian history, and her palace in Chittorgarh Fort stands as a haunting tribute to her story. While the historical accuracy of the tale is debated by scholars, the palace itself remains a powerful symbol of Rajput honor, sacrifice, and the famous 'Jauhar' ritual. A visit to this palace is less about its architecture and more about connecting with the powerful narrative it represents. The palace, a beautiful three-story white structure, is located on the southern part of the fort. It is strategically positioned in the middle of a lotus pool, a design element that adds to its mystique and offers a glimpse into a time of royal privacy and security. The reflection of the palace in the water is a sight to behold, creating a serene and captivating scene that belies its tragic past. The surrounding water body and the intricate Rajput architecture, with its delicate arches and beautiful jharokhas (balconies), make it a fascinating subject for photographs. The most famous part of the palace is a small, elevated pavilion where, according to legend, Alauddin Khilji was allowed to glimpse Rani Padmini's reflection in a mirror. It is said that this single glimpse of her beauty drove his obsession, leading to the devastating siege of the fort in 1303 CE. Today, a guide will still stand at the same spot and demonstrate the angle, allowing visitors to visualize the famous scene. This specific moment of the story, even if a romanticized part of folklore, is what gives the palace its immense emotional weight and draws countless visitors. While the palace is smaller compared to other royal residences within the fort, its significance is unparalleled. It is here that Rani Padmini and thousands of other women are believed to have committed 'Jauhar,' choosing self-immolation over dishonor at the hands of the invading army. The ruined state of the palace adds to this somber atmosphere, making it a place of solemn reflection rather than a cheerful tourist spot. Visiting Rani Padmini's Palace is a unique experience. It’s not just about exploring an old building; it's about standing on the very ground where a monumental act of courage is said to have occurred. The palace serves as a tangible link to a story that has been passed down through generations, symbolizing the unyielding spirit of the Rajputs. It reminds us that history is not just a collection of facts, but a tapestry of human emotions, sacrifices, and legends that continue to inspire and resonate even today. 👍🏻🩷

It is not just a fort, but almost a self-sufficient township with ornate palaces, temples, and gateways. The fort is one of most amazing forts in India. Though managed by govt agencies, it is a decent job. Pros 1. All important places inside the fort are accessible by road in your car. 2. Sufficient auto rickshaw services are available. 3. Key historical sites are well maintained. 4. Guides are reasonable, knowledgeable and communicate well. Cons. 1. Light and sound show is slow and boring. There was mention of Maharana Pratap. It ended abruptly. Don't waste time and money. 2. Be careful while driving up and down the fort as there are narrow gates to cross and most drivers don't have patience to stop.

Chittorgarh Fort is truly breathtaking. The scale, history, and architecture are incredible, and the views from the top are absolutely magical. One of the highlights of my visit was watching the sunset at the Johar place — it’s an experience I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting. The atmosphere during sunset is unforgettable. A quick tip for visitors: you pay for your car only once at the entrance, and the entry ticket for people is also a one-time ticket. Make sure you keep your ticket with you at all times because you’ll be asked to show it at multiple points throughout the fort. That said, the management can definitely improve the overall visitor experience. The fort is huge, and without a tour guide, navigation becomes confusing. There aren’t enough clear signs, directions, or explanations about what each site represents, so it’s easy to feel lost. Better maintenance, informative boards, and a more organized route would make a big difference. Overall, the fort itself is extraordinary and absolutely worth visiting — but the tourist management could be improved to match its grandeur.

The Last Flame of ChittorgarhThe sun dipped low over the vast stone walls of Chittorgarh Fort, painting them in shades of gold and crimson. Inside the fort’s silent courtyards, Princess Padmavati stood gazing at the Vijay Stambh. The tower seemed to whisper tales of valour—of warriors who had once guarded these gates with unyielding courage. For weeks, siege drums had thundered beyond the ramparts. Alauddin Khilji’s army, vast as the desert sands, encircled the fort like a tightening noose. But Chittorgarh did not bow easily. Each day, arrows flew, swords clashed, and the Rajput war cry echoed against the granite hills. On the eve of the final battle, Maharana Ratan Singh stood before his soldiers. “Tomorrow,” he declared, “we fight not for victory, but for honour.” That night, the women of the fort, dressed in the saffron of sacrifice, prepared for the terrible ritual of jauhar. Flames roared in the subterranean chambers as Padmavati, her face calm yet resolute, stepped forward, her eyes fixed on the immortal sky. When dawn came, the gates of Chittorgarh swung wide, and the Rajputs rode out—steel in hand, death in heart. The clash was fierce, but the fate of the fort was sealed. By sunset, the walls stood silent again, watching over the ashes of courage.Centuries passed. Today, visitors wander the fort’s ancient paths, touch the cool stone of the Vijay Stambh, and feel the air hum with the spirit of Chittorgarh. The last flame still flickers—in the heartbeats of those who remember.

If you're looking for an unforgettable piece of Rajasthan's history, make the trip to Chittorgarh Fort. It's a massive place—more like a historic walled town than just a fort—and it holds some of the most dramatic and important stories of Rajput valor and sacrifice. Visitor Highlights: The fort is built on a huge hill, so be prepared for a long day of exploring. You definitely need a car or hired rickshaw/taxi to get around the 7km loop inside the walls. Vijay Stambh (Victory Tower): This is the fort's centerpiece. It's a nine-story tower covered in really detailed carvings of Hindu gods. If you can, take the narrow stairs up—the view from the top overlooking the fort and the city below is fantastic and worth the climb! Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame): A beautiful seven-story tower built by a Jain merchant centuries ago. It’s smaller than the Vijay Stambh but just as intricate and a great spot for photos. Rana Kumbha Palace: Walk through the extensive ruins of this old palace. It gives you a great sense of the past royal life (and a lot of open space). Rani Padmini's Palace: The setting is peaceful. It's beautiful to see the palace complex reflected in the calm water of the reservoir—it gives a good idea of the scenic beauty that existed alongside the fort’s dramatic history. Meera temple, Jain temples, Gaumukh sarovar, Shiva temple, etc. are added attractions. Get a Guide: Hire a local guide. The fort is huge, and without someone telling you the stories behind the ruins (especially about Rani Padmini), you'll miss 80% of the experience. Time Commitment: Plan on giving this place 3-4 hours, minimum. It’s not something you rush. Comfort is Key: Wear comfortable shoes and take water. It gets hot, and there's a lot of walking involved, even with a car.

I visited Chittorgarh Fort on Sunday morning by auto rickshaw from the railway station. The auto charged around ₹750 (bargaining ₹600–800) for a round trip, including a full fort tour and drop back to the station. The visit took around 4–5 hours, covering all the major attractions. Morning time was perfect — less crowd, easy entry, and pleasant for exploring, though it got very hot and sunny later in the day. In the afternoon, the entry line becomes quite long, taking 45–60 minutes due to heavy rush, so morning is highly recommended. Places Visited: Rana Kumbha Palace – very old and partly damaged, gives a glimpse of ancient Rajput glory. Fateh Prakash Palace (Museum) – royal architecture and historic collections. Meera Temple & Kumbha Shyam Temple – peaceful places linked to Meera Bai’s devotion to Lord Krishna. Vijay Stambha – grand victory tower, inside entry closed but magnificent from outside. Gaumukh Mahadev Kund – serene sacred pond with natural water flow. Padmini (Padmavati) Palace – beautiful palace surrounded by a lotus pond, linked to Rani Padmini’s Johar story. Mahakali Temple – peaceful, spiritual spot for devotees. Jain Kirti Stambha (Jain Trith Stambha) – artistically carved ancient tower dedicated to Lord Adinath. Overall Experience: A wonderful historical trip filled with courage, devotion, and Rajput pride. The fort is vast but well-connected by auto. Best to visit early morning with water and cap, as it gets hot by noon. A must-visit place to truly feel the heritage and bravery of Mewar.

A historical monument with rich heritage. It's importance can be judged by its entry in UNESCO world heritage list. Many temples, historical structures, hills, pagdandi etc are strange and observatory.. A large crowd visits the site daily.. entry ticket is nominal. Day by day in absence of proper look after the structure is diminishing.. fading can be seen everywhere. No security arrangements and guards are few , unable to provide safety to much enlarged area. A great historical architecture monument deserve special attention from both center and state government.

The views from the fort are stunning, especially from the towers and the ramparts, where you can see miles of green hills and the town below. The most memorable part was learning about the brave history of the Rajput kings and queens. The ruins, temples, and step-wells add to the charm. Overall, it’s a place full of history, beauty, and a sense of pride.

Chittorgarh Fort is an awe-inspiring symbol of Rajputana valor, sacrifice, and heritage. Sprawled across 700 acres, it proudly narrates tales of courage and devotion through its majestic structures. The Vijay Stambh, or Victory Tower, stands tall as an eternal reminder of Rana Kumbha’s triumph over the combined armies of Malwa and Gujarat. Intricately carved, it is a masterpiece of Rajput architecture. Bayan Mata temple, lesser known but revered by locals, carries deep spiritual significance. Kalika Mata Temple, which was originally a Sun Temple, reflects how faith evolves with time—its transformation from Surya to Kalika worship is a unique chapter in history. Gaumukh Kunda, a sacred water reservoir, is both a spiritual and architectural marvel, believed to be fed by a natural spring emerging from a cow’s mouth-shaped rock. Samidheshwara Temple, with its intricate carvings and divine aura, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and showcases early medieval craftsmanship. Meera Temple, dedicated to the saint-poetess Meera Bai, is soaked in devotion. Its calm atmosphere and historic relevance make it a serene spot. Together, these monuments make Chittorgarh Fort a living museum of India’s glorious past, and a must-visit for heritage lovers.

One of the biggest live forts in Asia. Still so many homes and shops are visible inside the fort. It takes around 02 to 03 hours to have a complete round of the fort. Old buildings, big cannons and temples will attract your attention. Very few restaurants are available inside the fort, so go there with all your preparations, however you get small stalls for some snacks and drinks.

The construction of the fort over centuries, its destruction by conquerors and its status after victory by Rajputs doesn't logically add up to the narrative told by guides. Why didn't the Rajputs reconstruct the destroyed temples and forts after winning back?

Nestled near Kumbhalgarh in Rajasthan, Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is a hidden gem for wildlife lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. Spanning an impressive 50 square kilometers, this sanctuary boasts diverse landscapes that are home to a variety of mammals such as leopards, wild boars, antelopes, and the charming mongoose. Birdwatchers will delight in the sight of migratory birds that grace the area with their presence.
Beautiful nature place and very good behaviour of available rangers and staff.... My recommendation is to visit this century once in their life.

Bassi wildlife sanctuary is situated in the east of the historical city of Chittorgarh near Bassi village 25 Kms East of Chittorgarh on Kota Highway, 175 Kms from Kota on Udaipur Highway and 140 Kms from Udaipur on Kota Highway, Rajasthan, India. It can be accessed by personal vehicle or hired Cab. It also can be accessed by Rail as the nearest Railway Station is Bassi-Berisal. It comes under the Meghpura Forest Range, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, India. It's a popular eco tourism site. The whole area of the sanctuary falls in Vindhyan hill range. The forests here used to be the hunting ground for erstwhile rulers of former Mewar state specially for tiger shooting shooting towers in the sanctuary are worth seeing. I got the opportunity to know many facts related to the life of crocodiles, some of the important facts are as follows. Crocodile cleans the environment by cleaning many impurities from water. Crocodile breeds in the months of November to March and makes a mound of grass and soil and lays eggs in it. A female crocodile lays about 50 eggs at a time, from which the babies come out in 65 to 110 days. Crocodiles are among those unique reptiles whose heart has four chambers like humans and they can hold their breath like humans. It has been observed that a crocodile can hold its breath for four to six hours under water. Crocodiles also have a third eyelid which does not move up and down but moves from right to left. It helps the crocodile to see while swimming in water. Crocodiles are expert in returning to their homes. They can travel up to 60 kms. to return to their place. Please help in saving crocodiles. The Bassi Wildlife is a Nature's Wonder and Crocodile Sanctuary where on the banks of Chambal river they find a safe refuge. While visiting long range binoculars are provided by the forest officers and visitors are instructed not to go near the river banks. Therefore, it is our moral responsibility to cooperate in the conservation of crocodiles so that the environment can remain safe and clean. I would like to suggest that tourists must carry water and little snacks. Here the entree fee is quite nominal for locals but high for the international tourists. Further tourists must remain cautious as beasts may harm our lives.

Kindly go for it only if you are very good at driving or have off road. No Safari. No network. No unique animals. No forest guard will accompany you. Carry Id cards if you are a student.

It only has nice and beautiful lake view. You will not get to see any animals and whoever gets to see the animal is considered very very lucky.

Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, barely 5 kilometres away from the Bassi Fort Palace and is an important natural reserve of the state. The sanctuary expands over an area of 150 square kilometres on the west border of the Vindhyachal Mountain Ranges and many water channels and lakes that are essential for the vegetation. It is home to a variety of flora and fauna in the region. The forest is dry deciduous and has trees like the Dhok, Churel, Butea along with a variety of medicinal herbs and flowering plants. Tourists can go on a jeep safari arranged by the forest officials. These safaris have a guide accompanying the visitors who can provide more information about the sanctuary.

Today on 20th July we visited this place.we spent almost 4 hours but there is not even a single wild animal which they have shown on boards and entry gates. Totally waste of time and money. The government should hand over this place to some private organisations as their careless officials cannot run this place. At least they should transfer some Deer 🦌 from Talchapar to here.
Nilesh U — Google review
One of the relatively untouched sanctuaries out there. We were the only safari jeep in the area yesterday. We didn't get a lot of good sightings but people do spot leopards, panthers, a bunch of really beautiful birds. They have some gorgeous spotting sights and Bassi Dam is also a really beautiful place to see. Overall, it's a good visit.

Oh my good such an amazing spot to hangout with family /rooms available/facilities like breakfast, lunch, dinner are also available . One who is visiting the place must try tea which is cooked on CHULHA so that the essence of soil comes in which gives the normal tea a great taste . I visited this place with my whole family and there we spotted few creatures like - peacock , deer , some species of birds ,and later we saw cobra snake and this place also has a good small garden and a good nursery which contains good species of plants and some herbs. I have uploaded the pics of garden and room also while me and my family were sharing tea together

A stunning example of engineering and natural beauty combined! Rana Pratap Sagar Dam offers breathtaking views of the Chambal River, especially during sunset. The peaceful atmosphere, calm water, and scenic surroundings make it a perfect spot for relaxation and photography. If you're lucky, you might also spot birds and local wildlife near the reservoir. The dam is an important source of irrigation and power generation, and a proud asset of Rajasthan. 📷 Tip: Visit during monsoon or post-monsoon for lush greenery and full water levels. Security restrictions apply — follow local guidelines. Entry may be limited in certain zones. 💡 Nearby: Don’t miss Baroli Temples and the Atomic Energy Township views if you’re in the area. A perfect weekend getaway — serene, silent, and scenic!

The dam holding the Chambal River is an incredible sight, offering both natural beauty and an impressive display of engineering. The view from the dam is absolutely breathtaking—vast waters of the river stretch out beneath a stunning backdrop of lush greenery and rocky landscapes. The way the river flows, controlled by the dam, adds a sense of tranquility, making it a perfect spot to take in the beauty of nature. The integrated power plant is equally fascinating, showcasing how the force of the river is harnessed to generate electricity. It’s amazing to witness how such a massive infrastructure not only serves as a crucial water management system but also supports the region’s power needs. The area around the dam is peaceful and perfect for sightseeing, though it can get busy at peak times. Overall, it’s a must-see for those interested in both natural wonders and renewable energy. Highly recommended!

I traveled to this place from Chambal Fertilizers, Gadepan (approx. 90 km) by car. The final 30 km is a bit challenging as it passes through a nearby forest reserve with no mobile network and narrow roads full of potholes, likely due to rain. It took me around 2.5 hours to reach, but due to heavy rain and a flood alert, I couldn’t explore the dam fully. Still, it was a thrilling experience to add to my journey. I recommend visiting in October or November, after the monsoon to explore it in a much better way. A must visit place with friends or family!

Baroli Temples – Ancient Indian Artitecture Group of 9-11 temples are placed here from around 11th century. This complex is so beautifully decorated with decorative trees & flowering plants & along with the ancient & historic look of the temples, the overall effect is divine. Such exquisitely carved idols & rock cut structures are rarely found anywhere. Most disheartening thing is that some idols & brutally damaged by invaders centuries ago & it's beyond repair. This place is still missing from the outer side of the country. It can be developed as a tourist destination. Very huge & marvelous structures can be seen here. It must be protected for future generations. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sanjay B — Google review
The Baroli Temples Complex, also known as the Badoli temples, is located in Baroli village in Rawatbhata City in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, India. The complex of eight temples is situated within a walled enclosure; an additional temple is about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) away. They are built in the Gurjara Pratihara style of temple architecture dated to the tenth century A.D. All nine temples are under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India for conservation and protection. A well known art critic characterised "the creations of Badoli as the most perfect of their age that he had encountered within that part of the country and, in their own peculiar style." Though the history of the Baroli Temples is not very clear, they are reported to have been built during the Gurjara-Pratihara Empire in the 10th–11th centuries. They are one of the earliest temple complexes in Rajasthan. A carved stone image of the god Nataraja was stolen from the Baroli temple complex in 1998. It has been traced to a private collector in London. However, the statue has now been recovered. The 10th-century Baroli Temples are of great architectural interest, consisting of temple structures built in the Gurjara-Pratihara architectural style, with exquisitely carved stonework. They are in differing stages of upkeep, with some in a semi-ruined state. There are 8 major temples in Baroli and a ninth about one kilometre away. Four temples are dedicated to Shiva (including Ghateshwara Mahadeva Temple), two to Durga and one each to Shiva-Trimurti, Vishnu and Ganesha. The Nataraja (Natesha) images carved in these temples are similar to those seen at Upramala. The sculpture has 16 arms and its headdress is matted. There is a large diadem carved at the centre top of the skull, which is "garnished with beaded swags." The facial features are very fine, with high arched brows and full mouth. Great Day Well Spent ❤️ Just Loved this place 💕

Garh Palace, also known as Bundi Palace, is a royal Rajput castle with smaller palaces dating back to the 17th century. Rudyard Kipling was so captivated by its charm that he mentioned it in his writings. The palace boasts colorful wall murals and engravings, although some areas are closed to the public. From the magnificent Taragarh Fort to the sprawling Garh Palace, visitors will find plenty of historic sites to explore in Bundi.
This is the best place I visited in Bundi..I am not going to that palace but from the outer side also it's looking good. All Bundi city will be visible from this palace. Taragarh Fort in Bundi, Rajasthan, is a mesmerizing historical site that showcases the grandeur of Rajput architecture. Perched atop a steep hill, the fort offers breathtaking panoramic views of Bundi city and the surrounding landscape. Built in the 14th century by the Chauhan rulers, Taragarh Fort is known for its massive gates, intricate carvings, and impressive battlements. One of the highlights of the fort is the Bhim Burj, a giant cannon platform that reflects the strategic importance of the structure. The tunnels inside the fort add an element of mystery, while the reservoirs carved out of rock display the advanced water management system of that era. Although the fort is in a partially ruined state, it still retains its old-world charm. The trek to the fort is a bit challenging but completely worth it for history lovers and adventure seekers. It is advisable to visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the heat. There are no commercial shops inside, so carrying water and snacks is recommended. Overall, Taragarh Fort is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, and stunning scenic views.

I recently visited Bundi Fort Palace, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip. The fort and palace stand majestically above the town, and the first thing that struck me was the sheer scale and beauty of the architecture. The intricate murals, detailed frescoes, and the old-world charm of the palace give you a sense of stepping back in time. The palace interiors, especially the “Chitrashala” (painting gallery), are absolutely mesmerizing with their well-preserved miniature paintings that depict scenes from royal life and mythology. It feels like an open history book. The panoramic view of Bundi town from the fort walls is breathtaking — blue houses, lakes, and rolling hills all in one frame. That said, the palace is not fully restored, and parts of it show signs of neglect. Some areas are locked or not easily accessible, and you can clearly see how time has weathered the structures. But in a way, that adds to its authenticity and untouched charm. If you’re someone who enjoys exploring heritage sites that are not overly commercialized, this place is a gem. I’d recommend hiring a local guide — it really enriches the experience since there’s so much fascinating history that you’d otherwise miss. The climb up can be a little tiring, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Overall: Bundi Fort Palace is a must-visit for history and culture lovers. It’s quieter and less crowded than many other forts in Rajasthan, making it feel special and personal. A hidden treasure that deserves more recognition.

Garh Palace & Taragarh Fort is a magnificent landmark in Bundi, offering a deep glimpse into Rajasthan’s rich heritage. The complex is vast, with many beautiful sections like Hathi Pole, Ratan Daulat, Chatar Mahal, Phool Mahal, Badal Mahal, and the stunning Chitra Shala. The lower part, Garh Palace, and the upper Taragarh Fort together showcase the grandeur of Rajput architecture, untouched by Mughal influence. The palace was originally built in the 17th century and later expanded with additions like Chattar Mahal and Badal Mahal. It once served as the royal residence of Bundi’s rulers and still carries that regal charm today. What makes it especially impressive is how well it was constructed on such a steep incline centuries ago. Entry tickets are reasonably priced (Rs. 100 for Indian adults, with separate charges for cameras), and parking is available just outside. The visiting hours are from 8 AM to 6 PM. Do note that the climb to the fort is steep and at times slippery, so wearing trekking shoes is highly recommended. Carry enough drinking water, wear comfortable clothes, and use sun protection for a pleasant experience. While the palace is mostly intact, it does need some upkeep, and a stone staircase with railings would make it more accessible for senior visitors. That said, it’s absolutely worth visiting if you appreciate ancient architecture and want to experience the charm of Bundi’s history firsthand. Please note that the ticket to Kshar Bagh is included in this same ticket.

Garh Palace, Bundi – A Regal Echo of Rajasthan's Glorious Past Built by: Rao Raja Ratan Singh and his successors. Entry Fee: Indian Nationals - ₹80 to ₹100 Foreign Nationals - ₹500 to ₹600 1. Architecture – A Rajput Marvel Garh Palace reflects the finest traditions of Rajput Architecture. Tall sandstone walls, intricately carved pillars, multilevel courtyards, and beautifully arched gateways define its structure. Unlike other palaces that lean heavily on symmetry, Garh Palace flows with the natural slope of the hill, making it unique and organically majestic. 2. Chitrashala – The Soul of the Palace The heart of Garh Palace lies in its Chitrashala (Hall of Paintings). This section is a painter’s paradise and a connoisseur’s delight. The walls and ceilings are adorned with vibrant miniature paintings depicting scenes from: A. The life of Lord Krishna – his raas-leela, childhood pranks, and divine plays. B. Romantic tales of Radha-Krishna and Rajasthani women. C. Royal court scenes, festivals, monsoon celebrations, and more. These paintings, primarily done in hues of blue and green, are still intact and untouched by time or modern restoration, giving them an authentic aura. 3. Palatial Sections – Each with a Story Badal Mahal (Palace of Clouds): Built at a height, it gives the feeling of living amidst clouds. Phool Mahal (Palace of Flowers): Used for private moments, decorated with floral patterns. Chhatra Mahal: Richly adorned with frescoes and mirror work, reflecting royal taste. Ratan Daulat: A stable complex built with strategic design, showing the military wisdom of the rulers. 4. Cultural and Historical Importance Garh Palace was not merely a royal residence. It was a center of art, literature, and governance. The Maharanas of Bundi patronized artists, poets, and scholars, making the palace a cultural hub during its golden age. Even today, the spiritual and royal vibration can be felt in its silent corridors. 5. Atmosphere and Experience Climbing up the sloping pathways to the palace feels like ascending into history. The peaceful ambiance, chirping birds, and occasional breeze whisper tales of valor and romance. The view of Bundi city below, with its blue houses and serene lake, adds magic to the experience. Conclusion: Garh Palace is not just to be seen—it is to be felt. It captures the soul of Bundi with its silent grace and artistic depth. For lovers of history, art, and royal India, this palace is a must-visit gem. Travel Tip: Visit early in the morning or late afternoon for better light and fewer crowds. Don't miss the Chitrashala, and if possible, hire a local guide to uncover hidden stories.

Taragarh Fort

Perched on a hill, Taragarh Fort in Bundi is a captivating sight with its rich history dating back to 1113. The fort and the sprawling Garh Palace offer an abundance of historic marvels for enthusiasts. Nature lovers can also revel in the beauty of Jait Sagar Lake and explore Raniji ki Baori. Visitors can expect a bustling atmosphere during peak season from October to January, while February and March provide moderate weather for a more tranquil experience.
Visiting Taragarh Fort was a highlight of our trip to Bundi. The entrance fee for foreign tourists is 600 INR, which includes access to both the fort and the palace. We highly recommend going early in the morning, especially in March, as the temperatures rise quickly later in the day. We started with the fort, which has a fascinating, abandoned atmosphere, making it feel like stepping back in time. The beautiful old paintings and the stunning 360-degree views from the top are absolutely worth the climb. It was incredibly peaceful—we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We wouldn’t recommend hiring a guide, but we were lucky to meet Rama, a friendly security guard who shared amazing information about the fort and its surroundings. His knowledge and enthusiasm made our visit even more special. On our way down, we explored the palace, but for us, the fort itself was the real highlight. If you love history, stunning views, and a quiet escape from the crowds, Taragarh Fort is a must-visit!
Marle R — Google review
The great fort of Bundi known as Taragarh Fort is lying in a rather dilapated condition today. Approx 1/4th part has been restored and made open to public. The fort walls encircle the entire hill. If restored, it can be a great walk along the high walls of the fort. Ticket price for Indian is 100 INR. There is parking in front of the fort. From the ticket counter and through the main gate, it is a steep wall of 200 meters to the main Hathi Pol gate. As only a limited part of the fort is open, you need to follow a certain route to explore the fort, manned by guards. The view of Bundi town from the fort is beautiful. Badal Mahal is the most beautiful section where you can enjoy the remnants of original Rajputana paintings. Lot of gates installed to ensure no one wanders off in No entry sections. Hope ASI and GoI thinks to restore this fort, symbol of valour of the Hadouti kingdom.
Ankur D — Google review
Taragarh Fort and Garh Palace are truly remarkable architectural landmarks, and the fact that they share a common entry ticket makes the visit even more worthwhile. Garh Palace sits at the bottom of the hill, while Taragarh Fort crowns the top, offering a unique combination of history and scenic views. The entry fee for Indian adults is Rs. 100 (different for students and foreign nationals), with an extra charge for digital cameras. The sites are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and the ticket also includes access to Kshar Bagh. There is convenient vehicle parking just before the fort entrance, and toilet facilities are available at the main gate. The climb to the fort is steep with uneven terrain, so comfortable footwear like trekking shoes is highly recommended. Carrying water, sun protection, and wearing light clothing makes the experience much easier. Unfortunately, the main Taragarh Fort area was closed during our visit due to the presence of a tigress from the nearby forest, but even from outside, the fort walls glowing a golden yellow after dark were absolutely stunning, a sight worth waiting for. One suggestion for improvement would be to add a natural stone staircase with a railing along the pathway. This would make the climb safer and more comfortable for visitors. Overall, it’s a fascinating place with a lot of heritage and charm, definitely worth exploring.
Rutuja — Google review
Taragarh Fort is a hidden gem in Bundi, Rajasthan, that surpasses the beauty of its more popular counterparts. Despite its understated charm, this stunning fort remains off the beaten path, making it a must-visit for those seeking an authentic experience. Although it lacks the attention and maintenance it deserves, Taragarh Fort's raw beauty and serene surroundings make it a standout destination. If you're in Bundi or Rajasthan, do yourself a favor and add this fort to your itinerary – you won't regret it!

Really nice place to visit if you're fond of visiting the monuments. This fort is made for exploring the ancient architect. You have be ready for climbing up to the top as its way higher than you think but yes, view from top is literally mesmerizing. Get handy water bottle(s) to stay hydrated. Fort gets opened by 0800 IST.

Raniji Ki Baori, also known as the Queens Stepwell, is a remarkable 1699 stepwell located in Rajasthan. This architectural marvel was built by Rani Nathavati Ji to provide water during droughts and showcases intricate carvings and sculptures, making it a masterpiece of Rajput architecture. The stepwell descends 13 stories into the ground and is surrounded by exquisitely carved pillars and galleries.
Ancient India tourism privileged here with amazing old bawari in city of bawari bundi . It is public benefit purpose built by rani nathwati solanki . And still in good condition . But water not clean after so much charge tickets by govt ...... There is smell of rats drops and birds poops....so bad to management after high tickets only 55 rs per person for 10 to 15 minutes visit place

An 18th century stepwell in the middle of a boisterous marketplace in Bundi. Just another ill-maintained historical landmark bearing the testimony of govt. negligence. Despite having an entry ticket and covering up the underground stepwell, they still can't prevent the entry of pigeons littering and ruining sanity of the place. One of the 3 must-visits in Bundi..
Ankur D — Google review
It was a great place, but it is covered , blocking the sky view and aura. The water deep down has not been cleaned since ages. Situated in the centre of market. Worth visiting as on of the very few stepwells where you could go till the last step
Sunitha V — Google review
Rani Ji Ki Baori is truly one of the finest examples of Bundi’s 17th-century architecture. This intricately designed stepwell once served as a vital water source for the town, and today it stands as a remarkable reminder of Bundi’s rich heritage. The craftsmanship is stunning, and it’s certainly worth a visit if you’re exploring the city. Entry is included in a composite ticket (Rs. 75 for Indian adults, with different rates for students and foreign nationals), which also covers Sukh Mahal (with the Bundi Museum) and the Cenotaph with 84 Pillars, making it a great value for sightseeing. Advance online booking is not required, so access is simple. That said, it is disheartening to see how little maintenance and preservation work is being done despite the entry fee. Such a significant historical site deserves far more care and upkeep. With proper attention, it could shine even brighter as a cultural landmark.

There is a an Histotical bawri. These are used in ancient time to store water for daily uses. It showa great level of architecture, it show how we are rich in our cultural heritage. But one this , to see this 55 per person is very costly.. In mine view there should be no entry fee or it should not be more then 10 rupees.

Don' t visit the place during raining season Is better in april may when its complitely dry. Because the place have 100 step and in september i didn see any. What no i understand why they don't close the place during raining season instead than charge 205 rupies for nothing or put a properly roof and make a museum instead than let him get full of water. Why always have to be a mess in india. Indian governament take care only about fast economy growing. Not take care about heritage or environment.

Sukh Mahal is a picturesque estate that boasts of its rich history and serves as a popular tourist attraction. The place features an on-site museum, which adds to the charm of this lakeside location. Visitors can enjoy the serene view of the lake while relaxing in its tranquil surroundings. Additionally, it offers beautiful gardens and is ideal for photography enthusiasts. Overall, Sukh Mahal is an excellent place to explore for those looking for a change from their routine activities.
It's a historical palace and museum there.lake view is also amazing.

A quaint little lake side retreat built by Bundi King (Rao Raja Vishnu Singh) under the command of Minister (Diwan) Sukhram during late 18th century. Among one of the 3 places worth seeing in Bundi. The lake is big and with the hilly background looks picturesque. But the lake isn’t that well maintained. No boating allowed. The interesting part is that the water level now is much higher than the level when it was built. This is evident as half of the Sukh Mahal is under water(see my pictures posted). So to me that’s another sign of non-maintenance. Surprisingly there is govt. museum in same compound as well, so difficult to understand as why govt. didn’t thought of dredging the lake. And..Beware of Monkeys, they almost attacked my wife till the guards intervened.
Ankur D — Google review
It is one of the 3 most important attractions of Bundi, Rajsthan. The lake is beautiful but not well kept but still the place feels nice and a must visit. There is a small museum and for a visit you have to take a 75 rs combine ticket. You can visit Rani baori, sukh mahal and 84 pillared cinotop with the same ticket. Don't miss to visit a room where Rudyard Kipling (Jungle Book writer) stayed and wrote parts of his legendary book.
Arti K — Google review
Sukh Mahal (Sukh Nivas Mahal) in Bundi is a serene heritage site built in 1776 as a summer retreat for the rulers of Bundi. Overlooking the beautiful Jait Sagar Lake, it offers a truly scenic view with cool breezes that make the visit refreshing. The place also carries literary significance, as Rudyard Kipling is believed to have stayed here and drew inspiration for his novel Kim. The Bundi Museum, located within the complex, is small but well-curated, showcasing weapons, idols, and other historic artifacts. Though the collection is limited, it is neatly arranged and well-maintained. The palace architecture itself is charming, though it would benefit from a bit more upkeep on the exterior. Entry is through a composite ticket (Rs. 75 for Indian adults) that also covers two other attractions, the Cenotaph with 84 Pillars and Rani Ji Ki Baori. Please note that, this location has washrooms on site. There is no designated car parking, so plan your visit accordingly. Overall, with some additional restoration work, Sukh Mahal has the potential to be an even more remarkable tourist destination. Even as it stands, it is absolutely worth a visit for history, architecture, and the tranquil lake setting.

Mahadev Temple

Nestled in the heart of Kota, Rajasthan, the Mahadev Temple is a hidden gem that offers visitors a refreshing escape into nature. Surrounded by lush greenery and flowing waters, this temple is accessible via a scenic staircase that leads down to its serene location. While there is an entrance fee for vehicles and individuals, many recommend parking nearby and enjoying the short trek instead. The views from this spot are simply breathtaking, especially during the rainy season when the landscape comes alive with vibrant colors.
What a place in Kota. One cannot imagine of having such lush green place with fresh flowing water in Kota, Rajasthan. We went their with personal vehicle. There is entrance ticket for both person and vehicle. The entry ticket is waste of money. It's better to track down to the temple instead of wasting your 400 bucks on the vehicle entrance. You can park your vehicle outside near the ticket counter, it's pretty safe. The Mahadev temple is located down the stairs. The view is worth watching. During rainy season the waterfall is on its peak. You can enjoy there but check the flow of water for the safety measures. Must visit during Monsoon

Best mahadev temple in bundi “Beautiful Lake in the heart of Bundi” A lake in the heart of Bundi city that adds to the beauty of the landscape when viewed from Taragarh Fort. The lake is dedicated to Lord Varuna (Hindu Water God). There is a temple in the middle of the lake that was half submerged when we visited. We had a mesmerising view of the lake from the Fort. Near the lake, there is also a palace where the kings of Bundi shifted from the main palace after 1947 when Indian got free (Probably, it was difficult to maintain such a big palace in the Fort with all the powers to collect and raise revenue were gone so the kings decided to shift to a smaller palace). Nawal Sagar is surely a gem in the beauty of Bundi and a treat to your eyes.

Bad experience was we had to go there 3 time because of rain and confusion also , we went there especially for chambal safari but we didn't find any ticket counter & then we got to know we have to pre-book it through online , then we did call to that agency for booking but they refused saying it's late now & saying you have to book earlier . so the timing was at 5 pm so we need to book tickets earlier at 3pm or u can also book in evening for tomorrow morning for 5 am safari & the charges are 2000 per person if you are four person and charges are 1800 per person if you are group of count 6.

I attaching some pictures to see ♥️♥️🏞️🏞️🍂🍂☺️☺️🙃🙃 In the middle of Kishore Sagar Lake lies the beautiful red stone monument called Jag Mandir. It was built by one of the queens of Kota, in the year 1740. Situated nearby Keshar Bagh, this place used to serve as a pleasure palace for the erstwhile kings. Nestled along the picturesque banks of Kishore Sagar Lake in Kota, Rajasthan, the Seven Wonders Park is a delightful destination that showcases miniature replicas of some of the world's most iconic landmarks. Here, you can marvel at stunning versions of the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, Christ the Redeemer, Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Great Pyramid of Giza, and Statue of Liberty—all crafted with impressive detail. This park offers a unique opportunity to experience these global wonders without leaving India.
On the banks of kishore sagar lake, a very decent park with very nice replication of all the 7 wonders of the world. Take atleast an hour or two and enjoy every monument and the lake too. You may even try the speed boat ride from here. Toilets are there but very badly managed, and an okok type eatery. Only 20 rs entry charges, parking extra.

Seven Wonders Park in Kota is one of the most unique and attractive destinations in the city, drawing visitors of all ages. Situated near Kishore Sagar Lake, this park is famous for its beautiful replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World, offering a global experience right in the heart of Rajasthan. The miniatures include the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Great Pyramid of Giza, Taj Mahal, Christ the Redeemer, and Rome’s Colosseum. Each monument is crafted with impressive detail, making it a delightful spot for photography enthusiasts and travelers alike. The park is especially charming in the evening when it is illuminated with colorful lights, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. The backdrop of Kishore Sagar Lake further enhances its beauty, providing a perfect setting for leisurely walks and peaceful moments. For families, it is a wonderful picnic spot where children can enjoy exploring and learning about world monuments. Couples and friend groups also find it a relaxing place to spend quality time. One of the best aspects of Seven Wonders Park is its affordability. The entry fee is minimal, which makes it accessible for everyone. Cleanliness and maintenance are also fairly good, adding to the overall experience. Small food stalls and vendors nearby offer snacks, making it convenient for visitors. However, the park can get crowded on weekends and holidays, so those who prefer a quieter experience may enjoy visiting on weekdays. Parking facilities are available but could be better organized during peak hours. Overall, Seven Wonders Park is a must-visit attraction in Kota. It combines entertainment, education, and relaxation in one place, giving visitors a memorable experience of seeing world-famous monuments without traveling across the globe.

Giving one star due to bad services of reliance store। I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service, processes, and lack of proper monitoring at your store in Kota. During my recent visit, I purchased several items, but the overall experience was highly disappointing. The invoicing and gate-out procedures were extremely inefficient. Specifically, between 3rd july 2025, 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM, during the item verification process at the exit gate (which opens inside the mall), I inadvertently left behind two umbrellas. Upon realizing this within 30 minutes, I immediately contacted the store. However, I was informed that the items were no longer in their possession. This suggests a severe lapse in monitoring and security within the premises. Furthermore, the staff displayed a lack of professionalism and competence, which further exacerbated the situation. I expect better service standards, especially concerning customer care and loss prevention measures. I urge you to address these issues promptly to prevent similar incidents in the future. I would appreciate a response regarding the steps you plan to take to improve your processes and service quality.
