Traditional market
Sights & Landmarks
1913 Songjeong Station Market, situated across from Gwangju Songjeong Station, has undergone a revival in recent years. The historic market street was given a retro makeover and now features trendy indie stores, eateries offering tempura, ramen, and rice cakes, as well as long-established businesses selling groceries. The market boasts an eclectic mix of cafes, pop-up stores, and specialty food shops alongside traditional vendors.
Such a nice area to have a stroll and have some local food, snacks or drinks! It really had the old-fashioned vibe which I personally loved 🩷😊
Karolina P — Google review
Hate to see the market kind of dead...not sure whether it is due to political turmoil or just out of date??? Nothing to see or street foods.
Danny K — Google review
A historic old market street with old shops selling food. Some converted to more modern cafes, while others retain their old fashion charm. Worth a visit to soak in the atmosphere and pick on some street snacks. Street parking and parking lot available nearby.
Mihwa L — Google review
They're trying their best. Some good stores and street food. The brewery was a nice surprise and really the only place besides the German restaurant that was attracting crowds.
Chris D — Google review
It's really pretty and maybe it was more lively pre-covid times but there wasn't much to do there when I went. I did enjoy the photo booth but that's all there was.
Fatema A — Google review
Interesting place. Many things to see and eat around this area
Melline G — Google review
I visited during the day and most of all the shops were closed. I think the place comes to life at night time. It's a nice place to stroll through, especially if you need to kill some time before catching your next train.
Jason C — Google review
It was a little difficult to find, but once we did, it was awesome! Go as it's getting dark and the street comes alive with a trendy yet old-school, retro feel. It's a great place to dress in old-fashioned school uniforms or take some black and white photos. Lots of yummy places to stop and eat street food as well. It's a blast!

Juknokwon, a forest resort located in South Korea, offers visitors a serene and tranquil experience amidst massive bamboo plants. The trails are well-groomed and there are various benches and pagodas to rest while taking a hike. The area is not crowded, making for an enjoyable walk through the woods. During Autumn, one can witness the beautiful colors of the foliage.
Amazing place. Love it so much, we spend there almost 4 hours, very nice forests, huge and calm. I truly enjoyed being there. Highly recommend 😍😍😍 아주 아름다운 대숲이에요. 🫰🏻🎋
Julia N — Google review
What a hidden gem...love the place. Only 3000 ₩ to enter. You can spend half a day and enjoy the tranquility. We only able to see half of site but so beautiful. Would definitely come back and see the rest of the place and have some tea or coffee and enjoy the full day.
Danny K — Google review
A lovely morning stroll through the Bamboo Forest with well kept pathways, lots of sign posts, plenty of rest area to soak in the serene atmosphere . Our route took about an hour, mostly gentle slopes with a few steps. Capped off the experience with a bamboo ice cream in the cafe, just past the gate. The flavour is a bit grassy and minty.
Ming — Google review
I enjoyed the walk in the bamboo forest. It has a nice micro climate. Air is pure and temperature was nice and cool. There are well maintained walkways. There is some huge timber bamboo in parts of the park.
Hayes W — Google review
You could certainly feel refreshed and relaxed inside this bamboo forest. Soothing sound blowing bamboo leaves. We are very happy we made the 4 hours bus journey from busan to here. We managed to finish all the routes shown in the map. Take us around 3 hours slow walk + stop over at the cafe and photo time. Make sure to go all the way until the back door as there’s a huge garden with ponds which I find really interesting.
J — Google review
For me Bamboo Forest is a full-day program. I've loved it a lot. I've visited on weekday that's way it had some visitors and I could enjoyed it in on by own.
EmeseK J — Google review
Went here on a roadtrip through Korea. Unfortunately it was raining quite a bit when I was here. But the Bamboo Forest was still really enjoyable. They have several trails you could walk along. The bamboo trees were huge and quite fairytale like. Hope I can come back here when it's raining a bit less. Entry fee/ticket was 3000 Won for one adult.
Patricia S — Google review
Juknokwon is a great place for anyone. The entire area is of course covered with bamboo but the trails are fun, some are difficult, and there are things for kids along the way. There is a lot of cool information, bamboo hammocks and seats to sit in and a playground. We also got ice cream and they had a lot of great flavors, chocolate, chocolate and vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, cheese, and even bamboo shoots. I tried the bamboo shoots I've cream and it was wonderful

Daehan Dawon Green Tea Tourist Farm

Farm
Sights & Landmarks
Forests
Huge green tea plantation offering hikes amid verdant, terraced fields & snacks such as ice cream.
This tea plantation is amazing. The only thing I did not like about it is the missing handrail, when going up the steps. I was only able to go halfway (about 56 steps), as I fear looking down. But, otherwise, my friends were very happy to reach the top - maybe my next trip there will be different - I will try to make my way to the top, with the bird's eye view of the plantation. The onsite shops also sell different kinds of tea, the ice cream is one of the best & the cafe also serve great coffee. Visiting the Boseon Green Tea Plantation was the highlight of my trip to Jeollanan-do, South Korea.
LornaH — Google review
Really cool to see where green tea comes from! I hear 40% of all Korea's green tea comes from here. They have cafes and stores. The green tea ice cream is delicious. You can also buy matcha and other high quality teas. When you come here bring a good pair of shoes to climb the stairs. If you want to see a view of the ocean, there is a rocky path and hiking shoes would be recommended.
Rob M — Google review
Beautiful scenery, an amazing exhibition of nature and human artistry
Jafar B — Google review
Had a lovely time viewing the fields and enjoying local food at a nearby restaurant
Jade B — Google review
Definitely worth the trip!! The pictures don’t do it justice. This is THE largest Tea Garden in the nation and has been opened since 1939. It had to be rebuilt after the war, but there are no traces of the previous devastation. There are many private farms nearby, but this one is open to the public and has been used as a sight for filming. Come treat yourself to something that used to be propagated only in Buddhist temples and royal courts!!! **Nice getaway from the city. Path to the farm consists of two loops. To the left from the entrance is a walking loop through thick bamboo. To the right is the tea farm. Lots of parking nearby. Wear good walking shoes.
Brandi C — Google review
Beautiful environment and not only the tea plants. There are flowers and nice trees all around. It is definitely worth to climb up to the observatory (the view is worth, better to start from the left side) and also to make a small side trip to the small bamboo forest.
Csaba L — Google review
Visiting this place was an absolute beautiful sight to see. And not to mention the green tea ice cream, so yummy!!!! I would recommend this place and visit it again. Visiting this place was so beautiful, peaceful and overall calming to my soul. I would want to go back to check out the bamboo side since I didn't find out about that side till after I left.
Crystal F — Google review
Nice plantation, worth a visit. Ice cream is great. Hot dog was not bad. Make sure you don't miss the bamboo trail too. Take comfortable shoes because there's a bit of a hike to the top view point.

Nagan Eupseong Folk Village

Mentioned on

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Walking Areas
The museum, located in the Joseon-era fortress, offers a tour of traditional dwellings and buildings. It is a beautiful place to visit throughout the year as every season has its unique charm. Free entrance is available after 6 pm. The establishment showcases regional living habits and environment through various exhibitions and plays. It also features many shops where visitors can buy souvenirs or other items, but it's important to be courteous since Korean is spoken here.
If you are doing a road trip and in the neighborhood, definitely make your way here! It is kind of in the middle of nowhere so it might be difficult to reach if you don't have a car. This is a gorgeous traditional village and you can spend a few hours walking around here. It was also a film set for some Korean drama movies.
Stephen — Google review
A pleasant stroll through a Joseon-era traditional Korean village. End it with a Korean pancake with honey filling, or for the more adventurous, boiled pupa.
Ming — Google review
We have been here numerous times and this time it was for the Folk Culture Festival. It was full but not overly crowded. There are traditional games, traditional performance and culture experiences. If you have been to Jeonju you might find this one exciting as well because it is more traditional. People still live in the houses so dont go in if the gates are closed. Open houses are usually for experience programs. You can go up the fortress and look at the village from above. Not so recommended if you bring a stroller or with an elderly cos the stone steps can be steep and uneven. Other than the fortress climb, the path is flat and easy. There are restaurants inside and on ordinary days you can eat there but unless you come early during the festival days, you have to wait at least an hour. We had lunch at one of the setup food tents nearby. Price was much cheaper and I would say quite tasty and you can find a seat easily. Spacious parking, affordable ticket price. Free if you are more than 65, under 7, have disability card. We had the fee 50% discount today, probably because of the festival. Overall is a good place to see what traditional life is about, especially for children.
Karina P — Google review
Interesting and insightful learning today of this place. My 1st time in this town and it has such a rich history of the March anti-japanese movement back in March 13, 1919 at Nagan-Eupseong. Definitely worthwhile use of our time here.
Shir Y — Google review
Nice place to spend half a day. If you come After 6:30 pm, entrance is free.
Frédéric K — Google review
It was my second visit with foreign friends. I think it’s not so good place with foreigners hahaha . Wide parking lot was good. We could enjoy walking a lot with talking so for couple, it can be nice place with eating ice cream or some snacks.

Jewel in the Palace K-drama made this place very famous! Most of the historical movies are filmed here, so the village is also known as a Filming Site. Naganeupseong, Gwangju I highly recommend this place for everyone! So many things to discover! 💥🌟🌼🔥

Great little village, worth a relaxing few hours to stroll through. There are a couple K-drama filming locations as well. Getting there was very easy by bus from Suncheon.

The Gwanghallu Pavilion is a beautifully adorned structure that was reconstructed during the Joseon Dynasty in 1419. The landmark has been featured in numerous Korean period dramas on television. It is an excellent location to take a leisurely stroll around and enjoy traditional entertainment. The pavilion overlooks a large pond, which houses many fish and adds to the serene atmosphere of the area.
It is free entry until 20 Nov 2024 because there is some construction but usually there is an entrance fee. The place is idyllic~ I love taking a stroll here

It's a very nice place. You find Koreans wearing hanbook roaming around, take pictures and pass quality time. Its far from Seoul but if were near this place you can visit.
Kamrul H — Google review
Gwanghallu Pavilion Gwanghallu Pavilion, built in the first year of King Sejong’s reign (1419) during the Joseon Dynasty, is a traditional Korean structure surrounded by a harmonious garden and lotus pond. It stands as one of Namwon’s most iconic cultural landmarks and is widely known as the setting of the classic Korean love story Chunhyangjeon. With its historical significance and scenic beauty, it attracts countless visitors year-round. Inside the pavilion hangs a framed poem written by Kang Hee-maeng, a distinguished poet and statesman of the Joseon era, who was an ancestor of my family—the Jinju Kang clan. This adds a personal layer of meaning for me, as my father once told me he spent his childhood living near Gwanghallu, in the Cheongeo-dong neighborhood of Namwon. Namwon City hosts traditional parades and cultural festivals centered around Gwanghallu, celebrating its literary and historical legacy. The site has also been recognized as a “Must-Visit Place” by Walk into City: City in Sight, making it a truly unforgettable destination.
Daehoon K — Google review
You can't visit Namwon without seeing this place, which is the quintessence of the Korean romance of the Joseon dynasty. Many famous historical dramas were filmed here. I came on a cold, rainy day, but the weather didn't hinder the experience because the beauty of this place overcomes the weather's moods.
Melline G — Google review
Huge site which has story of Pansory(traditional Korea musical storytelling performance). Now they offering Pansory performance here every Saturday at 8:00 pm in September. Enterance fee is 4,000won per adult. Chunhyang-jeon. They designed site concept of Chunhyang-jeon, seems like theme park. Gwanghanru is the name of main pavilionin in the garden, which was built at Joseon dynasty. I recommend you to search a story of Chunhyang-jeon before visit here if you're foreigner. That makes much more fun for you.

I remember that I went to Namwon at first day of Chuseok holiday to spend my times of totally free days. Firstly, I arrived at Kwanghanlu of Namwon. Thanks to arrived some earlier so, I was able to feel good vibes alone for long time on the bench. There were a wide pond actually I can say that half of water with half of fishes. I felt some nice feeling so that I stayed there at about one and half hour.

I also visited this location during the performance, they showed us what Korean culture looks like and it is fascinating... as a foreigner it was a good place to visit... they have a lot of public places to enjoy other than the usual 'must-visit-places'

Although the shops were closed during one visitor's afternoon visit, the garden was bustling with plenty of people entering and exiting. It's important to note that the entire place offers numerous photo opportunities, so it's wise to bring a bottle of water for hydration during your tour.
We visited this large garden in sunny weather in June. It's very big. It was hot. We took a small train to a nature reserve. I really liked it. we were very tired by the end.

Awesome~~ great park. So beautiful and hard to explain the beauty of the park. You can spend all day here and enjoy so many varieties of scenery. Took so many photos that I can't share all of them. If you are thinking to visit this garden then, just go there and you will never regret. I visited this place on 05 April 2024. We were just walking through this beautiful landscape, incredibly large garden for more than 4 hours. Entry fee to this garden in 3000 KRW for adults.

So many things to do- rain or shine. Beautiful flowers and garden is very well-maintained. Highly recommend the boat tour, too. It was such a nice way to see the surrounding area of the garden.
N V — Google review
Incredibly wide, well maintained, absolutely gorgeous! The landscaping design is unique and beautiful. Staff members and volunteers were all friendly, which made our experiences much more special. It was drizzly, but we didn’t have any umbrellas. The people who were greeting at the gate led us to a place where we could rent umbrellas for free. They didn’t even ask for any identification; it was run on honor system. Excellent place to visit!
Euna B — Google review
This garden has beautiful scenery as much as its size. The flowers swaying in the wind, the water currents, and even the warm breeze create an exotic atmosphere. Despite its large size, it is well managed. I want to go there again.

Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve is a serene conservation area and bird sanctuary that boasts of fresh water bays, a museum, and a park. The reserve offers ample opportunities for walking while enjoying the scenic views. Visitors can take a shuttle to Sucheon National garden or ride on the electric mini rail, Sky cube, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the rice fields. A ferry ride through the bay is also recommended.
We did a small road trip in South Korea from Busan and we made a stop in Suncheon for this area. It is a gorgeous wetland area and the nature is so beautiful. We did a big walk here and witnessed a wonderful sunset at the end. It was truly magical! It is worth the entrance fee, highly recommended!

Vast and expansive nature reserve. Be prepared to spend at least 3 hours enjoying the many trails/walks. Come in the late afternoon to view the beautiful sunset.

Really lovely walk, can get a bit busy especially on the weekends, but worth a visit for sure. Great sunset is. I think it was 5,000 per person to get in, but I thought it was worth it. Could easily spend half a day or more there. Bikes to rent and boat rides too, but I didn’t do any of them.
Camille E — Google review
wow. what a beautiful and peaceful place!! Not crowded. Go for the sunset! You walk mostly on the raised board path until you come on a pretty steep hill. It says the observatory is closed but you can still hike up almost all the way there to enjoy the amazing views!

Beautiful spot that's well worth the entrance fee. It's unfortunately a little further away from most tourist town/city options but if you're in the area, it's certainly worth the visit.

Suncheon Bay Nature Reserve and Reed Field is a wonderful place to visit if you like the peace and quiet of nature. We started early and enjoyed walking around. This place is huge so be prepared to walk a lot. The reed field was beautiful in summer, very green. The birds, ducks, herons, crickets etc were all humming the entire time. The air was nice, crisp and clean. I enjoyed watching the crabs and mudfish interact in their natural habitat. We also hiked all the way up to the observatory. We saw a mountain cat too! The view there amazing! You can see the entire reserve. There's butteflied and caterpillars and even crabs up the mountain. There's also a restaurant serving coffee, desserts and lunch. For the meals, the ingredients were mostly sourced within the reserve so that's really cool. I would love to see this reserve in autumn when the colors change to browns and reds. It's also home to migratory birds so that would be nice.
Belle — Google review
Visiting the wetlands in Suncheon was such a cool experience. We spent a good 4 hours there. You can check out the bird museum, the planetarium and then walk through the wetlands. There's a bit of a hike to reach the multiple observation decks. The views from the top are incredible. Such a peaceful and beautiful outing in nature.

This is the best cable car I've ridden recently! It crosses over the sea with a clear glass floor, offering stunning views. I also loved that they played music during the ride — it made the experience even more enjoyable.
Grace O — Google review
Awesome attraction that takes you from one side of Yeosu over a tall hill to the main port. Views are fantastic from the car. You have a choice of a glass bottom one for a bit more or the standard car to cross over. Very reasonably priced and the wait time to board is very well managed. It is probably the #1 thing to do when in Yeosu.
Rick K — Google review
This was worth the ride! Also, the hearts temple near the entrance was a fun place to see and take photos!
Tracey E — Google review
A great way to see Yeosu, South Korea at night, but don’t go there too late since it will be too dark to see the scenic ocean and surrounding. Also, think about if you want to do a round trip ride, which we eventually decided wasn’t worth. Buying tickets at the kiosk was easy and quite affordable at this popular touristy landmark. A lot to see across the other side and a couple of places to get drinks and take selfies. We got there around 7:00~7:30 pm, but wished we arrived there a bit earlier… couldn’t see much when it got too dark. Overall, a nice experience on a cable car over Yeosu.

The view night is fantastic All of Yeo-su city is bright and shining. I would like to recommend for all of the couples. After dinner the best place for picnic.

It was during weekdays, so we did not have to wait for cable cars. But on the way back, there was line up of people waiting to ride back from the island. Overall, it was short and sweet, especially because we rode it at the time of sunset and twilight. It was beautiful day.

The island boasts of an observation deck that offers stunning views and is known for its beautiful camellia blooms and bamboo groves. Visitors can explore the well-built boardwalk around the island which takes about an hour to complete, with several viewpoints offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. One can also visit the lighthouse or enjoy sunrise views from designated spots on the island.
A small island connected by a road that's perfect for a short hike. The walk towards the island is not long but you can also take a transport there. The island is famous for blooming with with red camellia flowers. I was lucky enough to see the first few buds blooming. At the end of the hiking trail on the island, there is a cave which is known to be a home of a dragon. There were clean toilets along the hike and shops to buy snacks as well.

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Geomosan Hyangilam, a serene Buddhist temple located on the edge of a forested cliff overlooking the vast ocean, boasts a picturesque terrace affording stunning views of the sea and neighboring islands. Accessible via a gentle twenty-minute uphill hike, this small yet charming temple offers an ideal spot for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in Buddhist culture while also enjoying breathtaking natural scenery. Its location amidst rocky cliffs and lush greenery makes it an excellent destination for those interested in both hiking and spirituality.
it's a bit of a steep climb up to the entrance but the views are breathtaking. the temple isn't very huge so i only spent ~1hr here. you can get to this place with bus 111, 111-1, 116. for bus 111 & 111-1, they also pickup and drop off at yeosu expo bus stop early in the morning if you stay in the area; check the timings in the image.

Nice little temple on the slope of a hill overlooking the sea. You get a really nice view over the sea when you actually climb up to the observation deck! Parking is an issue BUT there is a paid parking lot 500m down the hill. The temple is accessible with wheelchairs and strollers BUT it’s a steep climb. With a wheelchair or stroller you’ll have to follow the road which is a bit of a detour. However, keep in mind that with a wheelchair or stroller you won’t be able to access all the areas of the temple. Entrance to the temple is free! The short route to the temple are the stairs, otherwise follow the road.
Gerry G — Google review
You will need to hike straight up on stairs for about 20 min to reach the top from the parking lot. View is well worth it with a panoramic view. There are plenty of food options near the parking lot.
Kent M — Google review
It's a small temple with an amazing view onto the sea. The temple is sort of built right on top/almost within the rocks which creates a lot of little nooks, tunnels and caves which give it an extra special flair. The temple is high up, so be aware that there are quite a few steps to take. Also, if you're getting there by car, be aware that the road leading up to the temple entrance is very steep and narrow with almost no possibilities to park. You might want to park a bit further down.
Patricia S — Google review
Impressive views, about a 400 ft climb via stairs or a longer side road. Also, for people up to it, you can walk up the top of the mountain at 790 ft elevation through a steep stairs path up the mountain. Free entrance. Only coffee or tea are available once up at the temples.

Hyangiram is among my favorite temples in Korea, and I'm excited every time I visit it. The stunning view of the blue sea melting with the blue sky is breathtaking. There is a free parking nearby and free entry (as of August 31st 2024) for visitors. The path to the top offers an interesting experience. This place should be on any traveler bucket list.
Melline G — Google review
1300+ yr old temple, if you take a taxi you will need to book it round trip and have them wait 1:30hrs as there's no taxi readily available. taxi will also take you closer but it's an extreme trek for the elderly and young. with a stroller be extra prepared to park and hold your young ones. having said that it's a beautiful temple that's the shape of a turtle (from Google map Satellite view) with a legend of a turtle that was trying to make it to the next life with lots of turtle reference around the temple.

Namhae German Village

Sights & Landmarks
Neighborhoods
I didn’t stay there but i was driving around this village its really nice! recommended if youre in namhee
MAHFUZ K — Google review
We went to Namhae for Oktoberfest and it was a lot of fun! When you arrive for this festival you park at the bottom of the hill and then they bus you to the top. There were a lot of tents selling food (pretzels, sausages, beer, ribs) and souvenirs. There were two large tents for entertainment and beer. There were a few things for kids to do- a small play area and a balloon artist. They had ice cream that was delicious! The village itself is very cute. I can see why people enjoy visiting here!
Meredith G — Google review
It does look like a small village in Germany. The entrance fee to the museum is okay and affordable. Everything in the museum is also labelled in German. Unfortunately the food variety is limited to sausages, pig's trotters, and beer. Still it was interesting to see!
Natalie F — Google review
A German town in Korea sounds very unique, but I personally think that was pretty much the whole extent of its character. Despite its history and name, I didn't find much resemblance of a Deutsche Berg. I guess this popular attraction transformed itself into a Korean attraction that sells a lot of food and items of German names. The whole town is surrounded by beautiful mountain landscape, but the much of Nam Hae island is beautiful. The food is nothing like the ones I tasted in Munich or Frankfurt. There was not enough parking and too many people. Everything was sooooo expensive. My family had some snacks, juice, and ice cream, took photos, and got out of there quickly. If you want to visit, keep your expectations low. Personally, I think you will find much more satisfaction with other parts in Nam Hae Island. Nevertheless, it will be a not so German Town in Korea experience.
Chang C — Google review
A fun place to get some beers, have some German food, and enjoy the sites.

Nice place to take a stroll. Take a half day if you wanna go here because you can take many pictures and explore more and have a relax time at cafe with nice view..
Bettymerry — Google review
There is nothing special about this German village - the houses are built in German style, and there are a few restaurants that sell German foods like Schnitzel, sausage, and German beer. It can be nice for a short visit but, better to lower your expectation.

Jinjuseong, a medieval fortress wrapped by a 1.76km stone barricade, boasts ornate pavilions and a museum chronicling its storied past. The stronghold furnishes breathtaking vistas of the surrounding area. Visitors should purchase refreshments before entry since on-site stores are closed. This Korean attraction comprises one of the most exceptional parks replete with stunning traditional architecture, verdant greenery and panoramic cityscapes.
A place with the history of the Japanese invasion of Korea! Very beautiful park along the river and there is also a museum inside. Be sure to visit!
Young — Google review
The fortress offers well-preserved walls, scenic views of the Nam River, and several historical landmarks. The grounds are well-maintained and make for a pleasant walk. There is an entrance fee, but it is reasonable given the site’s significance, plus it includes access to the Museum, which was quite good. Overall, it is a great place to explore history and enjoy the surroundings.

really nice. i walked around all afternoon :) there are two hamo cafes one close by and one about a 10 min walk down.

Avery beautiful medieval Korean castle. It's history is complicated you may read from the information plates. But it is definately a must see place. There are many monuments, shrines of important people, beautiful forestation, amazing views, a great museum and alot of space to chill, rest and take photos. I thing this is the best place to hang out in Jinju.
Onur G — Google review
Must visit place. Nice park with good history. The ChokSukLoo is the famous place because of Korean geisha story who commit suicide holding Japanese invader general while they had party to conquer the city long time before.
Victor L — Google review
Beautifully preserved and maintained landmark park. The place is huge and we had a wonderful walk amidst the late summer heat. There are a lot of trees that provided plenty of shade. There are old buildings from the 1500s that they were able to restore. The fortress is has the river on one side so the view from the pathways and gazebos there was beautiful. You can also see several memorials for the fallen heroes of the battle of Jinju. Stop by the museum to learn more. I would love to come back in October for the famous lantern festival.
Belle — Google review
Nice park, cool fortress but if you’re planning to come here, plan on being here for at least 2 hours. It’s big.
Sean Q — Google review
A beautiful place at day to roam. You would enjoy the walk and the green of its grass and trees. The national museum is a must. Great museography and spectacular items in display. Entering the fortress costs less than 2 euros per person so don't doubt it. The museum is free.

Upo Wetlands is a vast inland marshland renowned for its exceptional flora and fauna, including prickly lotus flowers and oriental white storks. The wetlands are an ideal location to witness stunning sunsets while enjoying the tranquil environment. For visitors who wish to explore the area, renting a bicycle from the entrance is recommended since it provides ample time (2 hours) to tour around.
I really enjoyed visiting Upo Wetland. I had no idea they existed before my visit. It is extremely child, family and couple-friendly. The most exciting activity here is the bike rental. Upo Wetlands spans over 200 hectares so you can really get your cardio in! The views are pretty, especially in autumn when I went. There is also a beautiful museum near the entrance. On one of the trails, there is an observation deck where you can see the wetlands from high up as well as have a look at the different endangered species the wetlands comprise of. Definitely a must-see.
Melissa L — Google review
I went here with friends and loved strolling around this park to enjoy nature. Such a peaceful place to relax and walk around. A bike rental shop will be at the front of the park. I suggest renting a bike so you can explore the whole park, which is enormous. My friends and I rented a few cycles (some even rented tandem bikes), which was a lovely experience. There's so much wildlife in this park and beautiful birds. Many people come here to go bird-watching, so you'll see a bunch of photographers. In the center of the park, there's a history museum where you can learn about the wetland and the animals that inhabit the ecosystem. There's also a cute cage filled with rabbits, LOL. Definitely family-friendly.

Such a good and peaceful place for visit and enjoy the nature (especially with Korean autumn)! I also want to recommend to you rent a bike, so it will be much comfortable to moving around.
Ariuna — Google review
I went here for a day trip from Daegu on Friday afternoon to see the sunset, it was calm and nice to be around the whole swamp. Recommend for rent a bicycle from the entrance it was 3,000 won for 2 hours which is enough time to. From here to the bus station takes only 10-15 mins by taxi or bus. Nice

I went here in fall, it was amazing! really recommend you to visit in fall and this is also a perfect place to ride bicycle! I was so healing here!
Elva C — Google review
This is the location of the largest inland wetlands in South Korea. It is also a paradise for many varieties of ducks. There for it is well worth the visit. There is a road around the lakes and grasslands that makes the visit very easy by car. The best way to visit is with a bicycle as one cannot park at all the locations near to the lake edge. I highly visiting in the Spring and Fall. That is the time when it is teeming with wildlife. In late October there were large flights of ducks and geese and cranes flying over the area and landing for a rest. There are also paths where one can walk amount the high grass and get very close to the wildlife. I also noted a few blinds where one can use their telephoto lens and really acquire excellent close ups of the ducks and geese. If you like pond and lake life this is one of the best locations in South Korea to experience this. We took the train to Daegu and rented a car and drove for about one half hour to this location. Recommend that you set aside at least two hours as there is so much to see. Also there are flat bottom boats that are available for experiencing all away from the shore. Do go there and enjoy this paradise!
George F — Google review
I like this place so much. If you like to enjoy the beautiful view, upo wetland definitely is the place you should visit. Besides, bicycles are available for you to walk around to feel the nature. It is such a relaxing and wonderful place.

Mountain peak
Nature & Parks
Mireuksan Mountain, standing at 462 meters, is renowned for its panoramic views accessible from a lookout platform reached by stairs or a cable car. Designated as one of Korea's top 100 famous mountains, it is believed to be the future descent site of Maitreya Buddha. The mountain attracts around 1.2 million visitors annually who enjoy the country's only automatic circulation gondola, offering a thrilling 1,975-meter ride.
Amazing scenery. The walk to the summit is not too long. It was a little tiring in the heat but the steps contain jokes (in Korean) to entertain you as you climb. The area has multiple viewpoints to admire Tongyeong from afar as well as the surrounding islands. They’re really beautiful. We saw a black cat at the peak and also a whole litter of kittens. Taking the cable car was enjoyable too.

Dongpirang Mural Village is a captivating maze of painted houses and alleys adorned with colorful murals of animals, flowers, and cartoon characters. Perched atop a hill overlooking the harbor, this charming village features shops and cafes nestled along winding alleys that lead to higher vantage points. The village's name, Dongpirang, refers to its location on the eastern hill in Tongyeong.
It was good but hard to park and drive around.

We have special experienced at Dongpirang village that is filled by painting all around. It's just like animation villige to us. In commemoration of our family trip, We paid about 50 dollars to a local artist and had him draw us. Also, We have enjoyed the nice view of Tongyoung, at the top of village. I hope you also have the special experience at Tongyoung if you come to South Korea.

Wonderful little area of town, hiking to the top brings you to a small temple and a beautiful surrounding view of the city. Make sure and go into the fish market as you make your way out to see the amazing selection of locally caught fish and sea life.

This village holds the traditional and cultural heritage that Tongyeong has to offer. The walls are painted with beautiful caricatures and the village has cute little cafes with an amazing view of the city lake in the center. The center of the village has a photo spot like any other place in Korea. A must visit if you are in Tongyeong.

Tongyeong Agenda 21 is the responsible association gathered people throughout the nation in order to paint murals on the wall of Dongpirang-gil street in October 2007. This hillside village on the sea became a new place, revitalised by the art. The house design and roads are unique too. The view overlooking sea of Gangguan Port is fantastic as well.
YF T — Google review
The sunset view over Tongyeong from the mural village is excellent. The sun sets just over the hills behind the town. The mural village takes approx 20 mins to walk through and there are many cafes and some small shops along the walk. Some of the art is great, some needs reworking due to aging but generally it’s a great site to visit Edie silly for the panoramic views over the city and surrounding areas. There are toilets along the route and parking at the bottom of the village.

Perhaps because it was vacation, the kids room was almost booked even though it was a weekday. I had no choice but to use a slightly oversized room. The price is a bit high compared to the facilities, but if you have a large family, It's a size and satisfaction that I think I'll use again. There are three large beds on the first floor and a large bed on the upper floor, so children can have fun, and the family bath is the size of a local public bathhouse. It's half the size. This is an eco themed play area extravaganza. It had a little bit of everything here. We were very entertained for the ~6hrs we spent here before going out for dinner. The kids loved the small petting zoo and the area with many tulips for taking pictures. It had a garden area for hiking and also a small area with carnival rides. I’m glad we heard about this place through word of mouth b/c google maps has this place listed as permanently closed and it is most definitely not. It was a little on the pricey side but our kids had a blast and we had fun on the ropes course. The course was well maintained and had nice safety gear. I felt very comfortable playing around 40ft in the air and riding the zip lines!

I remember enjoying this place a few years ago before I had a son. They are building it up a lot which is great. However, not the best place to come with young kids on a weekday afternoon. Spend too much for entry and then rides are off, shops/restaurants/stands are closed. There needs to be a separate price for weekday afternoons if most things on site are going to be closed. If you have kids with you, the free science center is a much better option and is a lot more fun.

Started the walk early in the morning, the fresh air is so clean and nice. So full of colour at every corner. There is many activities for children to play and enjoy. Rating: ★★★★★ I recently visited Geoje Maengjongjuk Theme Park and had an absolutely amazing experience! This park is a true gem, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and engaging activities that make it a must-visit destination. The bamboo forest is nothing short of spectacular. Walking through the towering bamboo groves felt like stepping into another world. The serene and peaceful atmosphere was incredibly refreshing, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The park is beautifully maintained, with well-marked trails and plenty of spots to sit and take in the scenery. The themed areas are thoughtfully designed, offering educational insights into bamboo and its various uses. The interactive exhibits and displays are both fun and informative, making it an excellent outing for families and nature enthusiasts alike. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to try bamboo-themed activities. The bamboo crafts workshop was particularly enjoyable, allowing visitors to create their own bamboo souvenirs. Additionally, the bamboo-inspired cuisine at the park’s restaurant was delightful, offering a unique and tasty dining experience. The staff at Geoje Maengjongjuk Theme Park were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience. They were always ready to help and provided excellent service throughout our visit. Overall, Geoje Maengjongjuk Theme Park exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re looking to relax in nature, learn something new, or enjoy some unique activities, this park has something for everyone. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Geoje area. Five stars!

Nice park to visit especially with kids! Great views from the top and an adventure/zip line course at the end. The trail can be a little slippery so wear good shoes. There's also a cute bakery/gift shop by the entrance called 거제는 달달섬 that sells really yummy sandwich cookies with cute characters
Greena K — Google review
There are not much things to see here. The best time to come for the visit are during spring and autumn to hike, because the park is build at the hillside, so you are required to follow the pathway to go up to the hill.

Fun bamboo hike. Can be a bit crowded and hard to navigate with the large groups that tend to take up the whole pathway. Has a little zip line but its definitely for kids. The views are fantastic though and if you have it in you to make it to the top it is definitely worth the views.

Good place to have an experience in bamboo forest. More to casual kind of trekking. Suitable for weekends with family and friends. Really clean and the view was very beautiful (from the peak can see view towards the sea and other islands).

Very calm and beautiful place if you like plant/bamboo. The bamboo alley is really nice you can relax and breath in clean air. The entrance fee is very cheap and there are spots in the park where you can take photos(fake panda, tiger, etc.)

Yeojwacheon River is a stunning tourist attraction, adorned with cherry blossom trees that bloom seasonally. The river banks are embellished with art pieces and street food vendors, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll. The entire city is awash with the beauty of these cherry blossoms, creating a romantic ambiance in the air. Despite its popularity amongst tourists, the weekend can be quite busy.
Visited 2 April 2025. Just as beautiful as when I visited the first time in 2019. Lovely long stream with cherry blossoms canopy and decorations. This time, we had time to eat from the stalls set up for the festival.

At around 3pm on 25 March, 2025, our party of 12 people came. We didn’t see any cherry blossoms. What we saw was one of our members helping an elderly with her cart crossing a bridge where we posed for a group photo, it was so heartwarming.

Absolutely worth visiting in Jinhae at any time during the cherry blossom season (and quite honestly there’s no much in the area for food, cafes and bars/karaoke at any time of the year). We decided to stay in Jinhae to have more flexibility and peace about visiting the stream and the whole suburb is covered in cherry blossom trees! There were more people around during the day on tours, but the lights reflect off the flowers and stream’s water at night, so really night is a completely new experience alongside the street food and stalls. It’s day 1 of the festival today and we will be back for the flowers in full blossom one day. We loved it here!

I visited during the cherry blossom festival this year with a tour group and I would highly recommend the tour for this because I primarily travel with the the subway and this allowed me to take their bus to this location and back to Busan. It was also a good mix of guided / planned time and wandering around to investigate whatever peaked my interest. I travel solo and the rest of the tour group provided social interaction for a day which I enjoyed. I booked it on the Klook site and the name of it was "Jinhae Pink Cherry Blossom Festival Tour from SEOUL / BUSAN". There was plenty to do at this destination, snacks, photo ops, drinks, and local restaurants.

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth – Yeojwacheon Cherry Blossom Festival in Jinhae I had the absolute privilege of visiting Yeojwacheon during Jinhae’s cherry blossom season, and I can say without exaggeration—it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The entire stream was lined with endless rows of cherry blossoms, their petals dancing in the breeze like pink snow. The sight was breathtaking, something out of a dream or a movie scene. It’s no wonder people from all over the world found their way here. What amazed me the most was not just the scenery, but how international the atmosphere felt. I overheard languages from all over—English, Chinese, Japanese, French. It made me wonder: how did people from so many different countries hear about this hidden gem in Korea? It’s a testament to just how globally beloved the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival has become. The crowds were large, yet everyone seemed to be in a peaceful and joyful mood, taking in the natural beauty with wide eyes and camera phones constantly snapping. What’s even more remarkable is that it wasn’t just Yeojwacheon that was celebrating—the entire district of Jinhae felt like a massive, vibrant festival. Every street was decorated, food stalls were everywhere, local music filled the air, and people wore smiles that reflected the joy of spring. It felt like the whole city had come alive to celebrate the arrival of cherry blossoms. I’ve traveled to many places, but Jinhae during cherry blossom season is something else entirely. It’s not just a place to take pretty photos—it’s a place to feel wonder, to share beauty with strangers, and to be reminded of how magical nature can be. I can’t recommend it enough. If you ever get the chance, this is an experience you don’t want to miss.
Junghoon Y — Google review
Worth the travel and anticipation, everything was truly magical! 🌸🌸🌸 The Cherry Blossom Festival was an enchanting experience that beautifully captured the essence of spring. The trees were in full bloom, creating a breathtaking canopy of pink and white petals that seemed to stretch endlessly across the park. The atmosphere was vibrant yet peaceful,l everyone was coming together to celebrate the fleeting beauty of the blossoms. The sense of both locals and tourists were astounding. Everyone was in high spirits, sharing smiles and conversations with strangers, all united by the beauty of the blossoms. The festival did get quite crowded, especially in the afternoon, making it difficult to find a good spot for viewing the trees or participating in some of the activities. Arriving early is definitely recommended to fully enjoy the experience.

To anyone looking for a place to enjoy, relax and feel the spring vibe (especially for people living in a tropical country like me where there is only hot, hotter, and hottest type of weather), this river is the right one for you. We went there during the full bloom season of cherry blossoms and my experience is priceless. It was raining in the evening upon our arrival but it only added to the mood that I was feeling - excited. The river is a long one so make sure to see all the stops there and the food stalls around it sells tasty and affordable korean dishes. There are various coffee shops available too for any coffee lover out there so you won't have to worry about that. Make sure to come and visit this river of you happen to be in Jinhae and let me know what you felt.

Windy Hill

Park
The Windy Hill on Geoje Island is a must-visit tourist spot with stunning views of the mountains and ocean. It boasts a charming beach that comes equipped with amenities, as well as an old windmill that adds to its quaintness. You cannot leave this place without capturing some breathtaking pictures of the emerald blue sea surrounding it. The windy location and elevated position make it perfect for sightseeing.
This is a cute hill where you can take plenty of Instagram-worthy photos. It’s a short, easy hike up to the windmill, and the views from the top are pretty awesome. There are benches along the way if you want to rest or take in the scenery. It was super muggy so we expected some winds but it wasn't windy at all. :) Definitely check this place out—and enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants at the base of the hill.
Joon P — Google review
The attraction itself is free to enter; it’s just the parking costs 3000won. Payment is via cash or bank transfer if the parking attendant was there. We arrived on a Chuseok holiday at around 9am and the parking was still plenty. We spent around an hour there enjoying the beautiful weather and windy breeze; it’s perfect! The crowd started to grow big when we left. Encourage to come as early as you can to avoid the crowd. The hiking to the windy mill itself is not bad at all. Easy one I would say. Few benches available to rest or just enjoying the gorgeous weather. There are few shops and stalls before you hike up selling snacks and drinks. When we were there, there’s only one that opened but we didnt get anything. Overall the trip was excellent. Recommended to come and visit while you were in the island.

It’s boring, cheap looking, crowded and limited. This was one of the stops on our tour. The windmill is a prop that looks cheap and you can only walk in a limited area. The nature around it is nice but it’s definitely not worth going g to see this boring windmill.
Britz M — Google review
Eh, so-so. Our family loves nature and being out and about, but Windy Hill is just that; a windy hill. It’s crowded and there’s honestly not much to see. The view is lovely but so are all the coastal views in Geoje, so I’m not sure it worth the traffic jams and heat (during summer) to climb up there for a pic of a windmill. I’d say go if you’ve got nothing else to do :)
C E — Google review
One of the best spot in Geoje, feels nice on the way there if youre driving. There wasnt much people when i went there.
MAHFUZ K — Google review
Windy Hill in Geoje, South Korea, is one of those places that perfectly captures the peaceful charm of Korea’s southern coast. The moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the gentle sea breeze that gives the hill its name, along with sweeping ocean views that seem to stretch endlessly into the horizon. The picturesque windmill perched at the top is the highlight — it looks like a scene straight out of a storybook and makes for stunning photos, especially during sunset when the sky glows with warm, golden hues.
Laura J — Google review
A special place with special memories. Take bus 55 from Gohyeon bus terminal and alight at Dokpo bus stop. Follow the path to Windy Hill - either via the residences and cruise terminal below or the path past the hot dog stands and restaurants. There are public toilets available where the cruise passengers embark and disembark.

Gamcheon Culture Village is a vibrant and picturesque attraction in Busan, South Korea. The village features colorful houses, painted murals, shops, and cafes. Nestled along the slopes of a seaside mountain, this village stands out amidst the modern skyscrapers of Busan. Originally inhabited by refugees during the Korean War, it remained underdeveloped until its revitalization in 2009.
Definitely a place worth visiting in person, the photos online really don’t do it justice! The walk up has a few uphill climbs, but it’s honestly not too bad, and every bit of effort is rewarded once you reach the top. The view of the village is absolutely stunning, peaceful, colorful, and full of charm. You can really take your time exploring the little alleys, enjoy the fresh air, and soak in the atmosphere. It’s one of those spots that feels even better in real life than it looks in pictures. A great place to relax, take photos, and just enjoy the scenery.

Such a colorful and artistic place to explore! 🎨 The whole village feels like a giant open-air gallery with amazing murals, cute cafés, and lovely spots for photos. The view from the top is breathtaking, especially under the clear blue sky. Sitting on the yellow moon with The Little Prince statue was such a fun moment! 🌙 Definitely a must-visit when in Busan — full of charm, creativity, and great memories. 💛

Gamcheon Culture Village is so spectacular and an absolute must see. We weren't aware of the opening time of the shops so arrived reasonably early in the morning. This however turned out to be excellent for us as the village was quiet. We met lots of friendly locals out exercising and had access to the prominent photo spots for ourselves. At one stage we sat outside the sports building, located at the top back of the village. From the top of the building, there is a viewing platform. It was not meant to open until 9am however the extremely kind staff in the building let us in and gave us a personalised escort to the roof. We had access to the whole area ourselves! The village is free to visit and is open all the time. The shops and eateries however don't open until 9am. By the time we finished taking in the views, the shops and other tourists began to arrive. This gave us a good chance to shop for souvenirs and take in more of the atmosphere. To me the village is an absolute must see!

Absolutely worth visit! Lots of super cute cafes, Lookouts, Photos spots and souvenir shops. I would allow at least a couple of hours to really take your time and explore, and go either very early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds. Easy enough to get a taxi in and out.
Erin O — Google review
This place is absolutely gorgeous even though it is very busy with tourists. There are cars driving up the path (which pedestrians share with vehicles). There are a lot of incline steps or slopes. Any photo spots are just full of people with the worst waiting line spot being the little prince amd fox looking out (that was 20+ mon waiting time, a security staff will manage the queue). There are plenty of souvenir shops and cafes.
Alice — Google review
I went here on a beautiful sunny day on my first day in Busan. The views were amazing, the sun was there but the wind felt cool. I stopped by this handmade souvenir shop and bought this cute little lobster keychain and the woman who ran the store gave me a four leaf clover charm as a gift. Gamcheon has been so lovely and I hope I can see it again someday.

Gukje Market, also known as the International Market, is the largest traditional market in Busan. It gained its international moniker due to the multilingual abilities of its vendors. The market offers a wide variety of goods, from home items and souvenirs to delectable local foods like spicy vermicelli and pork feet. Situated near BuPyeong-KkangTong Market, Gukje Market's layout consists of separate areas for different products.
I enjoyed walking through the market. There are many stands selling all my bfs of things. The prices are good. It's worth going to this market to get better prices. It's a covered market so if it's raining it is a good place to get in out of the rain.

Very large market located in Busan, selling a diverse variety of products and goods. Just from strolling here, you can buy blankets, clothes, pots and pans, and much more for very reasonable prices. I recommend coming here for a traditional market experience, since it had so many vendors selling very many products.
Kat — Google review
A unique experience with over 1,500 shops. The food was reasonably priced. Not all the street vendors take credit card. Some took Yen and one of the street vendors kept 500 extra Yen and didn't give us the correct food. Due to the language barrier we just let it go. Just be aware of this possible issue of being overcharged. It was very crowded.

Interesting place to walk around in Busan. As a traveler I have been many places and the venders here are not too pushy, therefore you feel comfortable and safe. Boy do they have a lot of stuff!!! Don't bother with the jello ball, it was so weird!!! It's like jello covered in peanut butter powder or something, just a scam. The pastry fried and filled with seeds and honey, now that was good!! You can get it with cheese and honey or just honey. Very worth it, very cheap. We also tried the dumplings, very good.

Jagalchi Market is a world-renowned seafood market located on the edge of Nampo Port in Busan. It offers an abundance of fresh seafood, including live, dried, and pickled varieties. The market is famous for its multi-story building housing live fish vendors and restaurants, as well as outdoor market alleys filled with the aroma of seafood. Established after the Korean War, it is known for its high number of female fishmongers and is a must-see destination for curious travelers.
Came across this stall on level 2 and the owner could speak chinese so it was a very seamless and pleasant experience having our dinner here 🙂 Knowing that we are a little scared about ordering sashimi, she accommodated to us by allowing us to order an even smaller portion to try out 😊 The food came out to be very fresh, even for the ingredients in the stew 😌 Would highly recommend this store!! 🙂 We really enjoyed the whole experience as it could get very overwhelming for some with the amount of options available here 🥶

During our 4-day, 3-night stay in Busan, we ended up having brunch and lunch twice at this spot. Yes, it was that good! We went all out with the seafood (i.e: king crab, snow crab, live octopus, spicy raw crab, and of course, Korea’s signature delicacy; abalone - both grilled and in porridge form). We highly recommend the steamed king crab. It’s a must-try! And if you’re ordering the abalone porridge, pair it with the spicy raw crab. The flavors truly complement each other. Since we shared everything among the four of us, the cost was surprisingly affordable, and we ate like royalty.

Jagalchi Market is one of those Busan Things to Do. The seafood market on the ground floor is fun for tourists to explore and take photos of the live wiggly seafood. The upstairs contains all the food stalls and dry seafood vendors. There are about 50 food stalls and seating for thousands. It is built to cater to tourists. We were there for a late lunch/early dinner at about 4pm on a dreary October Thursday, so it was pretty empty. We were hungry and decided to to try a Jagalchi food stall. FWIW, we chose Food Stall No. 9 "Yong Gong" because the old lady seemed nice. We ordered fresh grilled eel and seafood onion pancake, plus drinks. Well, the seafood was fresh (but I always select places where the seafood is supposed to be fresh (unless it is something like a McDonald's filet-o-fish sandwich) and I am rarely disappointed. Any place that sells marginal seafood does not last long. The total price of KRW76,000 was one of our three highest priced meals during our trip. Not outrageous, but we ate at a small seafood restaurant in a back alley near Gwangalli for about the same price and that meal and dining experience was a superb 5*. If comparing the two places, I would only give Jagalchi 3*. But I got a touristy photo proving that I was there, so that counts for something.
K J — Google review
Downstairs is the fresh market, upstairs is the restaurant. You can buy stuff downstairs and they can cook it upstairs or you can just go upstairs and order from the menu and they'll cook it all for you, which is what my mom and I did. It's easier. All the restaurants upstairs almost sells all the same things, but we opted to go to stall 41 named Chung Cheong do. Owned by an older couple very nice. They didn't pressure you to buy! Because it can get overwhelming. They just explained what the menu was and what they can do for you. We really like this place because if you order the sashimi, you get a soup with it. They'll boil the fish and the bone into the spicy soup shown in the picture. Everything was very fresh very delicious and my mom is a picky eater so she knows quality. We came back to the same place for late lunch and ordered the clams and steamed king crab!

There are some local seafood stores outaide the Jagalchi Marjet building, these are more for people to buy seafood for home cooking. The onsode of the Jagalchi market has many seafood stores and you are able to select seafood of your choice and be sent upstairs for cooking (it requires additional cooking fee). The cooking fee is standardised across all kitchen and generally the seafood shop have their recommended one (so you can't really choose which stall to kitchen to cook for you). There is a seating fee of 5000 WON per person; seafood steaming is 10000 WON, other cooking style is 20000 WON. Most seafood store owners can speak soke broken engly, communication isn't too difficult. It was a fun experience to shop around, seeing fresh seafood in a wet market. There are a great selection of local seafood that are often unheard of overseas.
Alice — Google review
I am from a coastal town so the market wasn't anything new for me, dishes that were unique to the South Korea was something to see. We were a large group and took a walk around teg market with our guide. Noticed that not all stall owners were friendly, I agree that if we are not buying why stand in front of their stall and waste time. But a few of them were darlings and explained all the dishes that can be made with them. I met a a few extremely friendly people at the market.
Mallika J — Google review
Very touristy destination but we found that prices weren't too unreasonable. The ground floor has many seafood vendors, and once you pick one you can ask for it to be cooked and served upstairs. All the vendors have pretty much the same variety of seafood, so you just need to pick your favourite in terms of prices and communication. Overall very enjoyable, just need to be aware of tourist pricing.

Yongdusan Park, located in downtown Busan, is a sprawling mountain park spanning 69,000 square meters. The park boasts over 70 species of trees and is adorned with various stone statues depicting Korean heroes. One of its main attractions is the iconic Busan Tower, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Visitors can explore galleries and souvenir shops inside the tower or leave a love lock as a romantic gesture.
It’s incredible that the entrance of this park is right in the middle of the street. 2/4 escalators didn’t work so there were quite some stairs to climb. The park is very clean, there are swing benches and even on the way there is an outdoor “gym”. At the top, you can find Busan tower.

The park is quite clean and not many people were there. Escalator was functioning going up the hill where the Busan tower is. Quite high. I think it’s like 5-6 times of the escalator size in the photo. With the escalator, the journey going up wasn’t bad and took less than 10mins. Going down is just via stairs and quite fast. Lovely place up there. Took a break on the swing enjoying the humid weather and spent a little while taking photos. Once you’re up on the hill, there’s like small colourful shops selling souveniors etc. Some were closed when we were there. Spent like about half and hour or so. Great view and it was okay if you have extra time to spend in Busan.

It is a park consisting of a small hill that passes through the entrance of the old American Cultural Center and passes through the Central Cathedral. Nearby are Daecheong-dong, Nampo-dong, Gwangbok-dong, Bupyeong-dong, Jagalchi and International Market. The Yongdusan Tower, which was completed when I was in middle school, was a landmark of Busan at the time, but now it can be said to be a place of memories. There is an escalator leading to Nampo-dong, making it convenient for the elderly to visit.

This park is large and easy to reach by subway. There is an escalator from the street up to the top, which makes it convenient for visitors. However, on the way down, you have to use the stairs.

Peaceful quiet Buddhist temple where you can take a leisurely stroll around. There's some cafes here that sells snacks and drinks. Sometimes they have night markets too.

A beautiful Unesco world heritage destination. The temple itself is quite large and I was lucky enough to hear a prayer during my time there. The walking path to the temple (if you don't have a car) is about 1.2km and is a very easy walk along the river. There were quite a few people when I went but other than that it was a good time. Entrance fee for adults is 3,000 won

History is a virtue and should never be forgotten. 457 years of history lies at this very place. It is the second largest Buddhist temple shrine in South Korea. This place feels very holy and rich with culture and is visibly shown in the architecture. Please visit this site when you are in Korea.

Beomeosa Temple, located on the edge of Mt. Geumjeongsan, is a significant historical site in South Korea. Founded in 678 A.D. by master priest UiSang during the Silla dynasty, it has been rebuilt over the centuries and remains a pilgrimage site and Buddhist learning center offering temple stays. The temple is popular among worshipers, tourists, and hikers due to its scenic location and as a starting point for hiking trails around Mt.
Close to Busan - booked the experience Temple Stay and would recommend. Good food with services led by a monk with fluent English, plus a great tour guide of the temple included.

very quiet, well-maintained, and relaxing place, like most temples in Korea. The site is very easy to reach by public transport

Highly recommend visiting this 1,300-year-old ancient temple. It’s beautifully maintained and offers a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Perfect place to unwind and take in the history.

The architecture is stunning: intricate woodwork, bright dancheong patterns, and centuries-old pagodas that somehow feel both grand and humble. Even with other visitors around, it never loses that sense of serenity. The views are also incredible. The temple sits high enough that you can see the forested hills rolling out below, especially if you take a short hike up behind the complex. It’s the perfect balance of culture and nature. Whether you’re into history, photography, or just looking for a peaceful place to recharge, Beomeosa Temple is a must-see in Busan. It’s not just a visit - it’s an experience that stays with you.

Beautiful and serene temple. The surrounding countryside was stunning with the autumn leaves. Be sure to walk back to the metro - it's an easy walk and the view is splendid.

Amazing temple on the top of a mountain near Busan city center. You can take a bus that leaves you at the door. Many buildings conform this temple that for sure will enjoy wandering around in the middle of nature. Highly recommended visit at anytime

Quite a big temple complex with multiple buildings (ci 10). Partially closed when people are meditating, but almost everything is accessible. There is also a nice little garden at the foot of the complex with memorial animals / plaques. Can easily spend 1-1.5 hours here. Little tourist shop sell statues and arm braces and such. I combined this with visit to seokbulsa temple, which in my view is much more impressive.

Easy inexpensive access from the city by subway and bus. Atmospheric peaceful visit in a snow storm. I think it's a must do on a visit to Busan.
