Little crowd, the devasthanam can make little proper arrangements for the people standing in line , no proper water facilities or restroom facilities for those who are standing in line. Fans are there but not working. Water they are giving but only once. But the people are standing & sitting in the line for 4-5 hours. Please kindly make those arrangements

For Anna Prashan ticket they will allow Parents & kids only. If other they have to take special tickets. These tickets will be available inside the temple only. Special lane will be there to get these tickets and queue will start inside the dwajasthambam. Note: Avoid on Special day especially with kids.it will take 4 hours for Sarva darshan. Not even allowed the bags and kids things only allowed if it's very small bag.

Guruvayur Temple, one of the most revered shrines of Lord Krishna, immediately came to mind. The temple was just 95 kilometers away from Cochin, a drive of about 2 hours and 40 minutes through the heart of Kerala’s lush landscapes and vibrant villages. The thought of leaving behind the busy city streets of Cochin and immersing ourselves in the serene, devotional atmosphere of Guruvayur felt like the perfect way to celebrate the successful near-completion of our project. More than a break, it was a pilgrimage—an opportunity to seek divine blessings for the journey completed, and for the many yet to come.

The walkway is clean, and you can also enjoy a calm evening stroll with friends or family. A must-visit place if you’re in Calicut! ❤️

Kozhikode Beach is truly a wonderful place to visit, offering a vibrant atmosphere and plenty of food stalls serving a variety of delicious local dishes. The views are beautiful, and the lively surroundings make it a great spot for families, friends, and tourists. However, the cleanliness of the surrounding areas could be improved. Some shops tend to dispose of waste water and garbage carelessly, which affects the overall experience. Additionally, toilet facilities are quite limited, especially considering the large number of visitors the beach attracts. Overall, Kozhikode Beach is a great destination with amazing food options, but better waste management and improved sanitation facilities would make it even more enjoyable.

Our visit was on a rainy and windy afternoon so we could not spend much time. However we have been to the beach at different times and spend time. We enjoy the gigantic waves and the cool breeze. It is a beautiful beach and keep it clean as some areas were not. Sunsets and sunrise are amazing 🤩

I visited Kozhikode Beach early in the morning around 6 a.m. The place was full of life...many people were out for exercise, walking, sitting, and relaxing. Near the park area, some were practicing martial arts, others were playing football, and quite a few were just enjoying watching the activities. The atmosphere is vibrant and it’s a good spot to spend time. However, the beach is not at all hygienic. It is quite polluted, lacks proper walking paths, and is poorly maintained. With better cleanliness and care, Kozhikode Beach could truly become an excellent attraction for locals and visitors alike.

You can just stand there and watch the clouds drift over the valley it’s pure calm. It’s easy to reach and best visited early morning or around sunset when the view looks magical. A must-visit stop if you’re exploring Wayanad! 🌄✨

It was an amazing experience. Could clealy see the hair pin curve roads, the beautiful mountains, clouds and ofcourse the fresh air. You have to be there by 6 - 6:30am latest to get the most of it and spend an hour around, click pics etc. After that the mountains will be covered by snow (Koda in local language). If you aee staying in a nearby hotel, get up early, go to this place, come back and then have your breakfast n stuff. You won't be able to see anything after 8 - 8:30 am. No entrance fee and have few parkings on one side of the road. Since we reached there early, there were only a few tourists thus got parking very easily.

Also you will be fined heavily we there are cops and ngo's patrolling to catch people in the act. A must visit place if you are in wayanad. You can see serpentine ghat roads hidden in lush green hills. Sometimes you can feel and see you are above the cloud. Vehicles 🚜 ply in this ghat roads looks like toys . Parking is a challenge. Be aware of monkeys. This viewpoint is located along a national highway, surrounded by greenery and offering a scenic experience that automobile riders are sure to enjoy! The view becomes absolutely stunning during sunset, making it a must-visit spot. This viewpoint is located right on the last hairpin bend of NH766 and is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible spots in Wayanad. It offers stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats and breathtaking sunsets. There isn’t any dedicated parking space near the viewpoint. Visitors can park their vehicles near the entrance arch and walk down to the spot. Unfortunately, some people park on the hairpin curve, causing traffic issues on the busy road. The views from here are truly mesmerizing. You can see the lush green valleys below and the majestic Western Ghats stretching into the horizon. If you walk a bit further below to the next curve, you’ll be rewarded with a magical sunset experience. The mist-covered silhouette of the Western Ghats during the evening adds to the charm, making it a must-visit spot! Just before you reach the arch that welcomes you to Wayanad, you have this Lakkidi view point. Most people stop here to enjoy the view. You can see the top view of twists and turns of the ghat road. It’s best to see vehicles driving up at night as small dots of light. There is only a small space by the road side to park the vehicles. So make sure you don’t trouble other vehicles while parking here. Also beware of monkeys who could possibly steal your snacks.

Decent spot in Wayanad with nice views from the lake. They have pedal boats, but cycling them is quite tiring and not very smooth. The place is okay, not the best. But still a relaxing break if you're nearby and want to enjoy some quiet time.

Went here without much expectations and there is nothing either, it's just a walk around the lake and if you are interested in some boating you can go here. Also we went during rainy season, there were lot of leeches every one has seen the blood.

Pookode Lake is a calm and refreshing spot. I visited today and loved how peaceful the whole place felt. The walkway around the lake is scenic, the water is clear, and the surrounding greenery makes it perfect for slowing down and just enjoying the moment. It’s a great place to sit by the lake, relax, and take in the view. There are a few activities like boating and small shops around, but the best part for me was simply the quiet atmosphere. Even with people around, it still feels serene. The place is clean and well maintained too. If you are in Wayanad and want some fresh air and a peaceful break, this is an easy recommendation.

Pookode Lake offers a serene and amazing experience. The pedal boat ride was good and lasted 20 minutes. The place is exceptionally clean, with good service, though the prices are a bit high. It is a fantastic and calm spot to visit.

A beautiful, picturesque lake that's a perfect spot for families with children. Just be aware that it gets extremely crowded on holidays and weekends, which means a very long wait for boating. We'd highly recommend visiting on a weekday to enjoy it peacefully.

Paying money fornthe park is a waste of since 80% of things in park is broken/not working. But we cannot do peddle boating or kayaking wothout paying to enter to the park which is waste of money. But peddle boating was worth of additional money spent. Great view.

The view is stunning, especially when the water gushes down from such a height surrounded by greenery. The place is well-kept and feels untouched, a perfect spot for nature lovers and anyone looking for a peaceful escape. Just make sure to wear good shoes and take your time to enjoy the scenery. 🌿💦

If you’re coming from the Vadakara side and looking for a quick nature escape, this waterfall is an absolute must visit.It’s one of the nearest waterfalls in the area and surprisingly still less crowded which makes it even more special. The journey itself is a treat, with scenic views along the way including beautiful tea plantations and lush greenery. It’s not a tough trek or hidden in some remote corner it’s very easily accessible, making it perfect for a spontaneous trip with family or friends. The best time to visit is during the post-monsoon season. The entry ticket costs ₹65. Visitors need to walk about 200 meters to reach the falls. The road from the main road to the ticket counter is narrow and damaged in many places. There is a small parking area adjacent to the ticket counter. The tea plantation near the ticket counter is very beautiful. It is a great place to visit on the weekend.

Beautiful place to visit. Waterfall is active throughout the year. However, the flow reduces during March-May. If you are going with elderly people ensure that they can go and return around 2 k.m. Don't carry plastic bottles and food items. You can park your vehicles at the top. They will allow only 500 persons per day. So you can consider to stay nearby areas to cover many other locations around the waterfall. Only upi/ digital transactions are allowed for buying tickets.

I visited this water falls which is like 1km trek to the fall. It is under government and they charge 150 per person. Please mind taking student tickets which is only 50 rs. This trek is somewhat difficult. You should take about 2 hours. It not that worth visiting but if you feel to trek you must visit. Paid parking and local shops available also you have options of some activities near by.

We recommend buying tickets online or arriving early. The ticket price is ₹150 per person, and entry is not permitted without a ticket. The waterfalls are open all 365 days, but during the rainy season, only viewing is allowed—entering the waterfalls is not permitted.

Soochipara Waterfalls is soo good with wonderful water flow from the top of hill. Negative part is trekking, to reach this waterfalls we have to walk nearly 1 Kilometre additionally large large steps 🪜 to be used. After reaching Waterfalls it is worthy.

We visited this waterfall based on the suggestion and google review, but this place is a big NO!!! The start entry point is like the tip of the mountain and the waterfall is like at the base of mountain that much walking is to be done, there is lots of walking with slope and climb through the stones path and followed by big steps at the end which is difficult to go on, it cost Rs.150/- pp which is too much for the waterfall, if you are not in mood of walk and trek, this place is to be avoided! The gate closes around 5pm, all the guards are vanished at 5pm, there is no one around if you need any help if you go for the waterfall post 4pm, it took half hour for us to go to the waterfall and return half hour, 1 hour in total which is ascend and descend, as we spent only 5mins near the waterfall, as it was raining muddy water was falling and it was brown color. Do think twice before going for this waterfall, if you are up for a trek with proper shoes and mindset then its good!!

However, the parking is not easily identifiable, lots of these for cars are given to the buses. The hike from parking to the cave is moderately challenging, with 5-6 steep slopes. We went on a Sunday so it was extremely crowded with many people jumping queues and yelling. More staff is needed to manage the crowd on such days.

The journey begins at a parking ticket counter on the main road, the fee was ₹30 for a car. They assign a numbered parking area (ours was No. 7), and from there, you walk some distance before the line of small shops begins. The path gets progressively steeper, though it’s a tar road initially. After a long uphill walk, you’ll reach another ticket counter (₹50 per person) to continue further. Beyond this point, the path turns rocky and steeper, and you’ll need to climb or walk over rocks carefully. There’s even a narrow opening to pass through, a fun little adventure before you reach the upper section. The views from there are beautiful, and thankfully, steel railings have been installed to assist with the climb. At the top, on the right side, there’s a cave-like chamber where you can see ancient carvings, not very clear, but still fascinating to witness in person. The exit route is separate and has full steel railing support for an easier descent. ⚠️ Note: The climb is not suitable for elderly visitors or those with health or breathing issues. Inside, you can see ancient carvings on the rock walls — human figures, animals, and strange symbols that date back thousands of years. It’s amazing to think that these were made by people from the Stone Age! The atmosphere inside the cave feels calm and mysterious, almost like stepping back in time. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of history, adventure, and nature — a must-visit spot if you’re in Wayanad.

Place of historic importance - it is more of a rock chamber than a cave. A large rock wedged into the space between the surroundings rocks has formed a large room which probably was used as a living space by people 1000s of years ago. The walls have rock cut pictorial depiction of humans, animals and natural phenomena. There is also evidence of writing in Brahmi script

It's a strenuous climb upto the caves,even to the ticket counter. Be prepared with good shoes and not advisable for those already struggling with climbing stairs. The views from there are beautiful, and thankfully, steel railings have been installed to assist with the climb. At the top, on the right side, there’s a cave-like chamber where you can see ancient carvings, not very clear, but still fascinating to witness in person. Technically a natural rock shelter formed by a massive fissure in the mountain, Edakkal is a mandatory stop for history enthusiasts and adventurous trekkers. ​The experience begins with a challenging but rewarding climb. The path is steep and well-secured with rails and steps, demanding comfortable footwear and a moderate fitness level. The approximately 45-minute ascent can be strenuous, but it culminates in one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the lush Wayanad valley below—a stunning reward for the physical effort. ​The true marvel, however, lies inside the cave. Edakkal is world-renowned for its extensive collection of petroglyphs, or ancient rock carvings. These unique pictorial writings and symbols, etched into the dark walls, date back to the Neolithic (New Stone Age) era, making them potentially 8,000 years old. Visiting the Edakkal Caves was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in Wayanad. The trek up the Ambukuthi Hills is moderately challenging, with a mix of rocky paths and scenic greenery all around — but the view as you climb higher keeps you going. Once you reach the top, the cool breeze and panoramic view of the valleys are absolutely stunning.The caves themselves are truly fascinating. Inside, you can see ancient carvings on the rock walls — human figures, animals, and strange symbols that date back thousands of years. It’s amazing to think that these were made by people from the Stone Age! The atmosphere inside the cave feels calm and mysterious, almost like stepping back in time. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of history, adventure, and nature — a must-visit spot if you’re in Wayanad.

Place of historic importance - it is more of a rock chamber than a cave. A large rock wedged into the space between the surroundings rocks has formed a large room which probably was used as a living space by people 1000s of years ago. The walls have rock cut pictorial depiction of humans, animals and natural phenomena. There is also evidence of writing in Brahmi script

It's a strenuous climb upto the caves,even to the ticket counter. Be prepared with good shoes and not advisable for those already struggling with climbing stairs. There are only stone steps carved out of rocks and no hand rail on the way up. On the way down was easier with steel hand rails and straight steps.

Visitors need to know: it is essential to purchase tickets at least 12 hours in advance, as they are limited and sell out quickly. The current ticket price is ₹220 per person. Regarding the experience itself, I personally found it not worth the price or the hassle. It is extremely crowded, and the main attraction is simply an island area with a flow of water, not a waterfall or anything significantly unique. It felt like a waste of money for what is offered. We could not enter the island because of entry restrictions. The rafting on the river was a good experience. It was Rs 100 per person for a 20 min ride in the river by bamboo rafts. One can enjoy this ride as well even if you can not enter the island. There are few tea shops and souveneir shops.

Excellent tourist destination in Wayanad. It is a beautiful group of islands joined by the Kuruva river. We are taken on a raft to the main islands. If you walk for about 500 meters you will reach the part of the river where you can have a pleasant bath. The river is cool and shallow. You can spend any amount of time there. It is safe even for small children. However, it is not at all safe to take bath in other parts of the river. The guards warn tourists but some make a clandestine attempt to jump into the river. When we went there for the second time, a guard showed me why we should not take bath in the prohibited areas!

Bad experience at Kuruva Dweep, lost money during visit. Management should improve safety and proper arrangements for visitors.

Good place for walking in the forest and taking bath in river. The boat just crosses from the mainland to Kuruva Island which is would take hardly 5mins. The people around there are friendly and no plastics are allowed inside island. It's a flat land as there is no elevation observed so anyone irrespective of age can go and explore. Only little part of the island is accessible.

This temple is built in the traditional architectural style of Kerala. The temple surrounded by an open courtyard. We recently visited the Tirunelli Temple as a family, and it was a peaceful and memorable experience. The drive to the temple is beautiful, with well-maintained roads that pass through scenic forest areas — a treat for nature lovers. Though the temple is currently undergoing renovation, it doesn’t affect the visit or rituals. The surroundings remain calm and spiritual, and we had no trouble accessing the main temple. Overall, it's a serene place worth visiting, both for its spiritual significance and the scenic journey to get there.

Thirunelli Temple is located about 50 km from Wayanad, near the Kerala-Karnataka border. Nestled in a valley surrounded by lush forests, it has the majestic Brahmagiri Hills as its backdrop. A road trip to the temple through the hilly landscape can be truly exhilarating. Pilgrims visit Thirunelli Temple mainly to perform ancestral rites known as Bali Tharpanam. It is believed that performing these rituals here helps liberate the soul of the deceased from the earthly realm. Ample parking is available for visitors, although the temple is currently under renovation.

Visited with family. Boating was closed due to heavy rain, but the area was clean and well-managed. Tried the toy train—an average to-and-fro ride. Good restaurants, street food options, ample parking, and plenty of food and raincoat shops nearby.

That said, the place can get crowded during peak tourist seasons, and some areas near the entrance feel a bit commercial. But once you’re actually on the water, the beauty of Ooty shines through. Overall, Ooty Lake is a relaxing and picturesque stop—ideal for anyone visiting the “Queen of the Hills” and wanting a quick dose of natural charm mixed with light recreation.

Each rose plant is scientifically named watch out for that.. The calm and scenic atmosphere makes it a must visit place on your itinerary when you come to Ooty. Kudos to the department officials and the numerous staff members who work tirelessly for the upkeep of this vast area... The garden layout is designed over 4 levels... With well planned layout of variety of rose plants... The staff are courteous... And knowledgeable about the plants, etc... They patiently answer to our queries... Only thing is you should be able to converse in the local language - Tamil. They also have a sles counter... Selling a range of saplings... A definite must visit place... For a calm, serene time... With nature blooming....

I visited the Ooty Rose Garden with a lot of excitement because every time I’ve gone in the past, it was full of colourful roses and truly eye-relaxing views. But this time, I was honestly shocked. There were almost no roses at all, and the entire place looked empty and dull. It felt completely waste to visit. I even asked the workers there, and they said May is the peak season, so that’s why there were no blooms now. Maybe that is true, but still I didn’t expect the garden to look this plain. I went only because of the beautiful memories I had from previous visits, but this time it was very disappointing. I hope they maintain it better throughout the year or at least inform visitors about the off-season, because people travel a long way expecting to see roses.

A good ride through the forest. But couldn't find a great verity of animals. It depends. You really get a great time with the nature and fresh air. Could spot the footprints of tiger. There is a change in the timings. The safari starts from 6 am to 10 am in the morning and 3 pm to 6 pm in the evening. 60 trips per day. 30 in the morning and 30 trips afternoon. So if you are planning to go on weekends and holidays be sure you reach at the earliest. And. The best time to go for is from November to jan. The climate also too good. Maximum number of people that can travel in a jeep is 7. It starts from 3-4. Costs 2100rs. One guide will accompany you to describe things and helps you to spot the animals.

Better to buy tickets online a day before through keralaecotourism website. There are two slots, one morning 6 and evening at 3. Animal sighting is purely based on your luck but signs of animals can be found there, even tiger marks.

The safari last 1.5 hours, costs rs2250 per jeep, so its affordable. its one single road to enter and exit from the other side, its not like Kabini or Nagarhole which branches out like a combing search safari. Its hard to spot animals coz of the thick forest. We spotted Elephants, Sambar deer, tortoises, giant squirrel

We participated in a Sunday evening safari during rainy season at Tholpetty Wildlife sanctuary. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but compared less favorably to the similar offering 20 km away at Nagarhole in Karnataka (see below for details), which we did the next day. For one jeep with 5 people (including a 5 year old child), we paid Rs. 5500, compared to Nagarhole, where the per-person charge was Rs. 1000/adult, 500/child. Pros: No wait. Was able to pay by foreign credit card without a problem. Note to foreign travelers: one passport is required for identification purposes). The tour lasted about two hours. We saw one elephant—a tusker!) deep in the woods and one peacock, but that’s it. Since this was rainy season, wildlife sightings are much rarer. Cons: The safari vehicle used was cramped and very inconducive both to comfort and wildlife viewing as the seats faced inward with very little head clearance and very little window surface area. See photo for comparison to the Nagarhole (Karnataka) safari vehicle. In terms of price, I might be wrong about this, but I believe that one has to rent the entire jeep at a cost of Rs. 5000, which may not be economical for smaller groups. Overall, if you are visiting the Tholpetty area and cannot make the short drive to the Karnataka side of the forest, then this excursion is recommended. I would strongly suggest trying to do so in the dry season to maximize chances of wildlife sightings. If only possible to visit during the rainy season, I would favor the Nagarhole side both for price (pay per head as opposed to per vehicle), vehicle design/comfort and wildlife viewing opportunities.

We haven't seen anything except deer inside the forest. Despite travelling 1.5 hrs through the forest with 4500 INR loss, nothing could be seen. And road was completely offroad (I mean not good for old members)

Good forest range. It's a buffer forest. Recommended to go in summer if you want to spot wildlife. If you just want to see the vegetation then monsoon or winter.

The Garden is a well-maintained and refreshing place with a wide variety of plants and beautiful landscapes. The walking paths are clean and perfect for a relaxed stroll with family. It’s a great spot to enjoy nature and spend a peaceful few hours.

There may be a traffic near view point on week end we have to wait near 15 mins, but after that we can see the full beauty of the ooty view. We can cover almost full of the area from here. Stunning view is there try to be visit on sunny day otherwise mist may hide the view. Entry fee will be collected at the entry for vehicle and we have to pay 20 rs per head we can pay through UPI also. Many shops available there we can purchase small things. Restroom available here.

This peak offers a complete view of valley.There are snack outlets and even a having parlour.The entry ticket is 10₹. One can even buy sweaters and shawl and even hats. One weekends the place becomes highly crowded

This is a really good view spot in Ooty and a must visit, it is the tallest point in the Nilgiris. The experience was decent, first you are supposed to buy a ticket, but before you get in line for the ticket, you have to enter the market, which had clothes and souvenirs. There are may cameramen present there who will click and print photos on the spot. There is also a watchtower, which you can climb up to get a better view from the Peak. The road leading up to this peak is also scenic, with tall trees.

A few minutes away from Ooty centre, it's worth visiting. At Doddabetta checkpoint, around Rs 50-60 deducted for car entry. Entrance fee is Rs 10. Have to walk a couple of steps to go to the viewing point. There's a small watch tower. There's also a few steps leading down to another viewpoint. Overall, amidst the hills of Ooty and Doddabetta, the views are scenic and serene.

One of the great spots to experience Ooty . I wanted to see sunrise but looks like they allow only after 8 am & they follow stringent timelines on open n close so don’t bother visiting after or before official time . They are many good scenic spot while climbing the peak as well .

Visited Doddabetta Peak in Ooty and it was an amazing experience. It is one of the highest peak in South India, and the view from the top is truly breathtaking. A beautiful wildlife sanctuary with rich biodiversity and serene landscapes. The safari is well-managed, giving a good chance to spot elephants, deer, bison, peacocks, and if lucky, the majestic tiger or leopard. The forest feels untouched and peaceful. A must-visit for nature and wildlife lovers seeking an authentic jungle experience. However, you have to wait for getting tickets as there is only one window and there is always crowd.

Bandipur Tiger Reserve forest is a lush green thick forest shutter to numerous number of birds and animals. This road leads to Ooty, Tamil Nadu. This natural forest is a treat to watch. WE spotted lot of Deers. If you are lucky you can see Elephants, Peacocks, Tigers also. This forest is a land of lot of tigers. If you want a rich wild life experience Bandipur Tiger Reserve is a perfect getaway. Monsoon Season will be the best time to visit.

The temple is a stellar example of Dravidian architecture, instantly recognizable by its towering, seven-tiered Gopuram (entrance tower), which is adorned with intricate carvings and topped with seven golden Kalashas. The silver-plated entrance doors and the peaceful atmosphere inside the Navaranga Hall truly convey a sense of ancient, royal devotion. The location itself, nearly 3,500 feet above sea level, is captivating. The drive up the hill is scenic, and the summit offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city of Mysuru. From the viewpoint, you can clearly see landmarks like the Mysore Palace and Karanji Lake. For those interested in a spiritual and physical challenge, the climb up the 1,008 steps is highly recommended, as is stopping to admire the colossal monolithic Nandi statue—Lord Shiva's mount—situated halfway up the hill. As the temple attracts devotees globally, it can get very crowded, especially on weekends and during the auspicious Ashada Shukravara (Fridays in Ashada month) and the spectacular Dasara festival. To ensure a smoother darshan, I highly recommend purchasing the Special Entry Ticket (₹100) or the VIP Darshan Ticket (₹300) to bypass the longer general queue. Public transport via KSRTC buses is frequent, and ample (paid) parking is available. Remember to follow the modest dress code and note that the hill area is strictly a No Plastic Zone.

Visited the Chamundeshwari Temple on Nov 1st during Rajyotsava— the darshan itself was truly divine and powerful, you can really feel the energy of the goddess. However, the overall experience was quite stressful. The temple gets extremely crowded, especially on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Even with a VIP pass, we had to wait for hours in the queue. Entry tickets cost ₹30 for general darshan and ₹100 for special darshan, but everything is cash only. Crowd management was poor, with no separate lines for senior citizens, families with small kids, or differently-abled devotees. It was hard to stand for long, and the pushing made it uncomfortable. The staff were not very polite, and there was a lot of confusion inside. Parking was also badly managed, adding to the frustration.Govt really need to improve crowd management and cleanliness of Chamundi devi temple. On the positive side, the temple’s divine atmosphere, architecture, and the powerful darshan of Chamundeshwari Devi make it worth visiting at least once. The authorities just need to improve arrangements so devotees can experience peace along with devotion.

Chamundi Temple is a beautiful and divine place in Mysuru, built during the reign of the Mysore Wadiyar kings. It is believed that Goddess Chamundeshwari killed the demon Mahishasura here, which is how Mysuru got its name. Temple is good it is on the chamundi hill, here you can see devi chamundi statue inside the temple by puchasing the ticket (general ticket- 30 Rupess, VIP Datshan- 100 Rupess) per person. You can visit nandi statue which is nearby to the temple nearly 300 steps down. You can have a picture with most famous Mahisasura statue. Near the mahisasura statue only you can get the bus also to enter in the city again. Don't forget to take picture here from the hill top from where you can see the whoe Mysore city.

Absolutely stunning palace, it's majestic looks is a pleasure to watch from a distance and at when it's lit up in the evening, it takes you into fairy land kind of feeling. Inside also is very royal in its looks, a room is dedicated to Raja Ravi Verma's paintings, other rooms and people's court and VIP court are just magnificent.

Footwear is not allowed inside, but you can deposit your sandals at the counter free of cost. There is car parking available at ₹50, which is convenient if you’re driving. The entry fee for the palace is ₹120, and you are allowed to take your camera inside without any extra charges. Once inside, you can enjoy the beautiful architecture, vibrant interiors, and royal design. However, if you’re expecting a full heritage display, it might feel limited — many rooms are closed, and there aren’t many antique items on show. Facilities such as toilets and small shops are available inside the premises. If you’re visiting on a Sunday or public holiday, don’t miss the palace illumination between 7–8 PM. The entire palace lights up beautifully and is truly worth watching. The palace looks good from a distance but nothing much special inside. I strictly recommend visiting in the early hours so that you can spend ur time nicely as you like it, if you reach late they will still give you the tickets but chase you away before 5.30 to 5.45 pm However the light show is good in the end 10 mins with the full lights on the palace, it's for 1 hour first 40 mins you listen to the story and again they will chase you out to start the next 1 hour show.

visited Mysuru Zoo and really enjoyed the experience. I got to see the tiger, hippo, leopard, cheetah and giraffe, which was the highlight of my visit. All the animals looked healthy and active. The zoo is clean, well maintained and has lots of trees, so walking around felt relaxing. There are benches and water points along the way, which was helpful. The information boards near the animals were also easy to understand. It's a great place to visit with family and kids. Overall, I had a very good time at Mysuru Zoo and would definitely recommend it. Note: eat well before you enter

An absolute wow! Probably the best zoo in the whole country. All the animals are given plenty of space to wander around. So many species of animals, birds... And they even got some rare species, like white peacock, bengal tiger, black swan, etc. The zoo is veryyyy big, so u can easily spend ur whole afternoon here. They have clean restrooms, places for seating everywhere, and that too in a reasonable ticketprice... They also apply stickers on the plastic items u carry inside, in order to ensure no spoiling. Overall, loved it ✨

Mysore zoo has always been great. It is one of the best zoo in the country. It is quite large with a lot of collection of different animals. Although zoo is not the right way to see animals where they are kept in captivity, Mysore zoo has kept the animals enclosures as close to their natural habitat environment as possible. The design of the animal enclosures are quite good and no compromise on the space. The animals also appear well fed and healthy. The zoo is almost always crowded. The zoo is quite large and the entire walk around the zoo is more than 2.6 km. But battery operated carts are available for the elderly and those in need. Plastic is not permitted inside the zoo. They collect ₹10 in case you are taking any plastic inside the zoo. This is refunded if you show the same when you come out of the zoo. There are lots of trash cans inside. Adequate toilets are also available inside. The full trip to the zoo could take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours depending on how fast one can walk. There is a lake with boating facility adjacent to the zoo. If one wishes, a combined ticket to the zoo and lake can be purchased.

One of the well maintained and the biggest zoo in South India. All the animals and birds looks active, if you visit in the morning soon after the opening time. You can see lots of big trees and resting seats all over the zoo. Trees are properly maintained. Animals are fed on time. We happened to see some doctors checking up with the animal caretakers. The entire zoo holds around 3km of area, so you will be burning up your calories for sure. A must visit place in mysore, if you have kids. Also, you can book your tickets through scanning the QR code shown before the ticket counter. So, the payment can be done through UPI without any hassles. You need not stand in the que for tickets. This is very much appreciative.

Standing before this 12th-century Hoysala masterpiece, I felt like I was walking inside a living scripture. Every inch of this temple carved from soapstone carries a story… scenes from the Ramayana, Lord Vishnu’s divine forms, dancers, warriors, celestial beings — all frozen in time yet so alive to the heart. It’s humbling to think that centuries ago, in golden evenings lit by countless diyas and moonlight, this temple must have shimmered like a dream. I could almost imagine the hymns in the air, the fragrance of incense, and devotees circling the temple with faith as unshakeable as the stone beneath their feet. If only stones could speak. What moved me even more is its resilience. Shri Chennakeshava Swamy Temple is about an hour’s scooter ride from Mysore, and the journey itself is beautiful, passing through the South Indian countryside. This 13th-century UNESCO temple isn’t very large, but it’s definitely worth a visit. You can easily spend around an hour exploring the carvings and atmosphere, and the entry fee is only about 3 USD (parking not included). It was calm and quiet when I went (especially during the monsoon season), which made it a perfect place for silence, reflection, and of course some beautiful photos. You can hire a guide if you’d like, but with a bit of AI assistance for dates and background info, I felt I got along just fine — and honestly, how many numbers and years do we really remember? If you do decide on a guide, read up beforehand about realistic fees and tipping. I’d recommend planning half a day: visit the temple, enjoy the peaceful vibe, and maybe tie it in with a short tour around the surrounding area. A wonderful spot for both culture and calm. The Chennakesava Temple, also referred to as Chennakeshava Temple and Keshava Temple, is a Vaishnava Hindu temple on the banks of River Kaveri at Somanathapura, Mysuru, Karnataka, India.The temple was consecrated in 1258 CE by Somanatha Dandanayaka, a general of the Hoysala King Narasimha III. This is a well maintained government heritage. Fantastic depiction of India cultural history . If you been to places like Belur , Halebidu you will enjoy visiting this place . Visiting this over weekdays , possibly in the afternoon or evening time would be peaceful . Shooting videos is not allowed inside the temple while you allowed to take photos!

Visited Barachukki Falls 💦 over the weekend and had a really nice experience! ☀️ Though the sun was shining bright on top of our heads, the view of the falls was totally worth it — such a stunning sight! 🌈 The safety measures were good, and everything was quite well-managed despite the weekend crowd. 👏 There’s free parking 🅿️, and plenty of food stalls 🍢🥤 to grab a quick bite or drink. You’ll also find lots of monkeys 🐒, so keep your snacks safe! 😅 Horse rides 🐎 are available, adding a bit of fun for kids and families. Plus, there’s an instant photography option 📸 where you can get your pictures printed on the spot — a great souvenir to take home! It was a bit crowded since we visited on a weekend, but overall it’s a beautiful and refreshing spot 💧 to relax and enjoy nature with family and friends. 🌿✨

It's a very quiet and calm place to visit with family and friends and enjoy the day. Best time to visit during October to December. During rainy season also it will be good but when it's too much rainy can't enjoy as expected. At the main entry they collect entry charge for vehicle and at the entry of falls again they collect entry charges of 10 each per head. They are just collecting the entry fees but not improved the place. At the main entry they have mentioned as plastic free zone and near the falls area they have given permission to stalls where we can find Plastics dumped everywhere. No cleanliness maintained near falls. Also people and tourists who visit here are careless and dump and throw plastic where all they find place. Stalls should be evacuated from the falls area and keep the area neat and clean. Some higher officials with police protection and security visit the place and are least bothered about the surrounding nature and just get their family selfie and photos and just get out from their. If they show some interest and advice the personnel there to keep the surroundings clean then it would be more beautiful to visit the falls area.

I have visited Barachukki falls on Sunday, 3rd Aug’25. It was an amazing experience. The waterfall massive, magnificent and spectacular. It is located around 125kms from Bangalore and it takes around 2.5 hours to reach there. Place is usually much crowded on weekends and on public holiday. Best time to visit: July to September (based on monsoon season). Morning hours preferred so that place is not fully crowded. Tickets are available at front gate. Paid car parking space is available nearby.

Great falls to visit on a weekday with no crowds, due extended monsoons the falls are full even at the end of Oct. Has good parking and some what clean wash paid rooms. Good views from the lower view point requiring few steps. One can spend about 30 min to enjoy the falls and take some pictures. Closer to the main gate behind the Darga, there are Gaganchukki falls view from a different, parking is available but there is no good view point as the place is barricaded with steel mesh. The road after turning from NH 948 is pot holed at many places. The stone pillars old bridge is an ancient engineering work, stop here for few minutes to enjoy the architecture of the bridge built on stone columns. Cauvery Water flowing on rock beds here is a very beautiful sight to watch for long.

Bharachukki Waterfalls – A Breathtaking but Adventurous Experience 🌊🌿 We visited Bharachukki Waterfalls recently, and it was an unforgettable experience! Located near Shivanasamudra (around 130 km from Bengaluru), this place is perfect for a short road trip surrounded by greenery, small villages, and scenic countryside views. The drive itself feels refreshing, but the real magic begins once you reach the falls. The waterfall is massive and mesmerizing, with water gushing down rocky cliffs into a wide pool below. The mist, the roar of the falls, and the cool breeze create an incredibly peaceful and energizing vibe — truly nature at its best. You also get some great viewpoints for photography and relaxation. We decided to go closer to the falls, and honestly, that turned into a mini adventure! We went through a jungle trail to reach the water — it was thrilling but also quite risky, especially during summer when the rocks are dry, uneven, and slippery. It’s definitely not recommended unless you’re experienced and careful. Still, that close view of the powerful cascade was absolutely worth it! During monsoon, the waterfall is even more spectacular — full flow, mist everywhere, and a magical atmosphere. However, parking and crowd management could be better, especially on weekends, so visiting early morning or on a weekday is ideal for a peaceful experience. Overall, Bharachukki Falls is a must-visit if you love nature, road trips, and scenic beauty — just respect the terrain, stay safe, and let the waterfall do its magic. 💧✨

Shivanasamudra Waterfalls – Gagana Chukki & Bhara Chukki Shivanasamudra is truly a gem of Karnataka, consisting of two majestic waterfalls – Gagana Chukki and Bhara Chukki. Though both are part of the same Kaveri river, the viewpoints are about 15 km apart, each offering a unique perspective of nature’s beauty. I recently visited and was amazed by the breathtaking views. The drive from Mysore is around 85 km, making it a perfect day trip. Weekends can get crowded, but the sight of the cascading water is absolutely worth it. ✅ Free parking available ✅ Plenty of local snack shops around the viewpoints ✅ Scenic drive and photo-worthy spots If you’re planning a visit, I’d recommend going early in the day to avoid heavy crowds and to enjoy the serenity of the waterfalls. A must-visit destination for nature lovers and photographers alike!

Beautiful waterfalls during the monsoon. It has a very spectacular view. Parking is available near the waterfalls. Roads are good till we reach the destination.

i. Shivanasamudra Falls is a scenic beauty of silvery water of Kaveri river, dropping into the ravines, from the hills tops, near Malavalli, a sugarcane town. ii. Directions: 133 kms from Bengaluru and 78 kms from Mysore, on the state highway, Maddur - Kollegala Road. iii. Plenty of seating place at different levels, socialise and photograph. iv. Closeby restaurant, souvenirs shopping available.

Breathtakingly beautiful. It takes you a while to get there but it's so worth it. I went on Independence day so there was a lot of crowd there so I would suggest going during offseason to peacefully listen to gushing sound of the falls. The viewing area is vast and there is enough space to accommodate a lot of people, you just have to be careful of the crowds there. Plenty of roadside food options too. Definitely worth a trip.

It's a beautiful place it visit specially during monsoon season when the water is released from KRS dam. The beauty of this place can't be expressed in words you need to come n experience by yourself. The flow of water from the rocks is just like milk flowing through it, that's the beauty of this place. I suggest this place for a one day trip. Though the government is taking entry fees the road to such beautiful place is in worst condition from many years, since many people visit this place they should develop proper road to here.

One of the best One day trip place to visit if you are in Bangalore. July to August perfect time to catch hold of Cauvery water falling from the hill rocks. Roads are very nice, it takes approximately 2.5 hours from Bangalore. If someone starts at 6am. Breakfast can be planned on Kanakapura road side restaurants and easily by 9am you will reach the spot. Going early avoid entry and exit traffic at the spot. Big land with Ample parking available near the falls, don't go crossing the parking ground since it's dead end it will be difficult to get U turn done, only bike parking can be done there. Govt has constructed the view points in 3 to 4 spots in a step wise manner for us to view the falls from different angles. Suggest to take umbrella since this is raining season. You get snacks and juice there. Mobile signal is weak here, UPI payment can be difficult better to carry cash.

Journey was so beautiful with hill n palm tress view. Destination is blessed with Beautiful waterfalls with two sides – Gaganachukki and Bharachukki. Best in monsoon when the flow is huge.Last but not least don't forget to for Kaveri river baoting.Nice spot for a quick trip from Bangalore/Mysore. Gets crowded on weekends, but worth it for the view!

I visited in the second week of July, and it was truly great to witness the waterfall in full flow. There is ample parking available, which is very convenient. Please note that you cannot go close to the waterfall or touch the water for safety reasons. This is a must-visit place for a one-day trip from Bangalore.
