Dhyanalinga has been created as a very powerful presence so that the vignanamaya kosha or etheric body of a person is touched just by being in its sphere. To experience the Dhyanalinga, sit and gaze at the linga for a few minutes. Then close your eyes, palms facing upwards, resting upon your lap. The Dhyanalinga requires no pooja, prayer or worship. There is no need to concentrate or try to meditate. Just sitting silently for a few minutes is enough to make even those unaware of meditation experience a state of deep meditativeness. Well, big land converted to a religious place having Lor Shiva's statue 🙏 but other than the statue, it is just a place where you can enjoy some food, have shower, and see bullock cart. Lastly a Dome, also called Dhyanlinga where you can sit and meditate. It can also be done at home for people who don't know. Try this, go back home and close your eyes, empty your mind and call upon whoever you worship. God is within you. They have SAVE SOIL slogan and they love animals. There is bullock cart in 50° degrees carrying passengers from one place to the other. I mean we have battery cars and golf cars but they love animals and want them to know that they are loved deeply. Lets make these poor animals carry 9 people at once under the 50° degree sun. Touche! Tradition can be supported with technology too, we don't need to harm animals this way. We could barely walk in the sun and these poor animals were carrying so many people. God forgive these people who are doing this to animals 🙏 BATH FACILITY - We had shower in the morning so we didn't go shower here. I mean it's not elixir otherwise we would have definitely. DHYANLINGA - the road (walk only) leads to dhyanlinga but when its nearly 50° degrees, it makes it difficult to walk barefoot on the UNEVEN and hot surface. They could have put Carpet on the foor covering uneven surface but i guess they were short of funds and also they wanted you to feel the culture. You are going to feel that culture the next day too when your feet hurts. There were old people walking slowly and some of them were pouring water on the floor to walk on that hot surface. It was 3PM and Carpet is a must for people who aren't used to walking on the uneven hot surface. Finally when you reach dhyanlinga, they will force you to sit inside dome and meditate. We recently had an accident and couldn't sit on floot so they forced us to sit on the chair. We didn't want to be rude so we sat for 2 minutes. There was a small baby crying very softly and these CARETAKERS asked the lady to get out pointing finger as if she made a huge mistake. If they can't respect humanity, what good will come of anything they practice in life. We saw that and immediately stood up. 2 of them tried blocking our way. Well, just to be clear, We bow to God only and there was no God here. We are not slaves they need to get this to their heads. We left instantly without responding to them. By the way, the best feeling was when we bought 3 packets of biscuits and made the dog eat. He was very happy and kept coming back to give his love. That was the only good feeling we got. We made sure the dog wasn't hungry anymore and then left back for the hotel. Canteens are everywhere so don't worry if you miss one. There are more on the way. Also phones were not allowed but we noticed some of them carrying it quietly with them. The deposit box is safe. They take your photo and phone number. So nothing to worry about.

Visited Palakkad Fort on a holiday and it was almost empty except for a few workers. The calm and peaceful atmosphere made it a relaxing stop. Don’t expect an overwhelming or grand experience, but it’s definitely worth visiting for its historical significance. A quiet place to walk around and soak in a bit of heritage.

The Adiyogi area of Isha Yoga centre is about a km from parking area. This is a very impressive giant sized statue on a large platform. There is a Shiv Linga in the forecourt area of this statue where visitors can offer Jal abhishek amidst continuous chanting. A good arrangement ! But the walk from parking to the adi Yogi arena can be a challenging one for senior citizens & children during mornings & summer times as it's a wide open area without any trees/shade. So beware of this aspect & go prepared with sunglasses, Caps etc.

Peaceful and well-maintained temple Visited the Murugan Temple in Coimbatore and had a really calming experience. The temple is clean, well-organized, and has a serene atmosphere. The architecture is beautiful and the surroundings are quiet, making it a nice place to sit and reflect. The darshan was smooth and the staff were helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a spiritual break.

We will visit here atleast once in a month. You will find peace here. Situated in the hills, if you plan to visit the temple , and if you plan use the steps , you need to reach there before 5pm. Steps are closed after 5pm on all days due to elephants and chetah movement. Two wheelers or four wheelers are not allowed after 7 pm during weekdays and after 5 pm during weekends as well as festival seasons. Four wheelers are not allowed after 5 pm on any day. They have there own small buses carrying from hill bottom to top. But they too stop after 7 pm. Temple closes around 8 to 8.30 pm after Pooja's.

This temple is around 25 kilometres from Coimbatore, the entry fee to hill for car is 30 Rs. This place having limited car parking near the temple, so sometimes becomes difficult to get car parking here. There is a toilet facility there, the cleanliness is average. You have to climb few steps around 100 to reach the temple, there are two line for darshana one general darshana line and second one is special darshana line, the charges for special Darshana is 50 Rs. Per person. The temple situated at the foothills and surrounded by hills, it's a very spiritual experience to visit this temple. From the temple you can see bird view of Coimbatore city.

We visited the temple on a Friday. On that day, cars were not allowed to go up the hill due to the Krithigai festival, but vehicles with political flags were still permitted. If you are a common devotee, you’ll have to wait longer and face some struggle to get a darshan. Temple buses are available to take devotees up the hill near the temple, but you still need to climb a few steps to reach the main shrine. Senior citizens, patients, and differently-abled people find it difficult to manage this climb. Otherwise, the temple is clean and well-maintained, and some development work is in progress. It would be good if the Government or HR&CE department could improve facilities to help senior citizens and differently-abled devotees reach the temple more easily.

Went to this temple during my first visit to Coimbatore. This temple is located 15km from the main city of Coimbatore. The temple is at the base of the hills of western ghats. It is said to be over a 1000yrs old temple with visitors coming from all over India. I went on Friday evening, the experience of going to the temple was not pleasant as we had to wait at the foothills for more than 1 hrs just to go to the top of the hill. There are people manning the entrance of foothill with security. The stop vehicle movement and charge 20rs for parking. The foothills to the entrance closes at 7pm, even local bus service to the top closes at 7pm. Once you go to the hilltop, Darshan is available until 8:30pm. The place has not developed much. Lots of inconvenience for visitors. No proper parking, lack of basic amenities like public toilet, drinking water etc. Very limited shops near the temple. The only good thing is having darshan of Lord Murugan. We were lucky to see Abhishekam of Muruga as well at 8pm. Apart from that the place doesn't give a good temple atmosphere or a serene experience. Govt must take up the task of developing the place at foothills with hotels and shops for visitors. May be due to forest area and western ghats they might have restricted the development activities also. There are elephant movement at stairways when going towards the hilltop. A beautiful temple at coimbatore. There are buses which take you to hill top. The ticket costs 10₹ per person. The mornings is crowded and also the evenings.one can take special ticket. There is Panchmuga Ganapati seated under a peepul tree. The main God is lord muruga

An elephant camp by Govt. Parking available at payment. 70 Rs per ticket for people and 35 for senior citizens. 8 elephants are now here including the notorious one in the history Peelandu Chandru. Needs more maintainance. Children park is there with some rides. Also one eco shop canteen by department is available. Basic toilet facilities also available. Worth for 1 time visit

We went to this centre to see the elephants with our family. We could tell it was a great place for children to spent time in. It's a govt funded training centre for rescue elephants. The place was very quiet with lots of beautiful trees and their canopy protecting from the heat. We went their in an afternoon and it was like trekking. We had to walk through the forest like place with a pavement road in the middle and after awhile we could see some areas with protected deers and elephants. It's a great place to spent time in if you want to relax with nature and hear the birds flying through the thick trees. We can also see some areas of a lake where the elephant bathe most days. There are bamboo seats everywhere to sit and look at the greenery. We also saw some tree houses . It's a great place to enjoy nature and get some fresh air.

Kodanad elephant park is situated near Perumbavoor on the banks of Periyar River in Ernakulam district .It's one of the famous elephant training centres in Kerala Located at the distance of 45 km towards the north east of Kochiit's a place where the newly captured elephants are kept for training. Earlier, elephants were captured in the Malayattoor forests and trained at Kodanad. Though capturing Elephants are banned now and Kodanadjust become the training centre for elephants. There are many walkways beside the river that give pleasant experience to the visitors. There is a small wildlife park at the centre which is a home of deer and other wildlife.

The place has a huge area with very well maintained flora and fauna. The elephants here look healthy and friendly. A good place for a nice stroll,with fruit orchards, bamboo trees etc. A great number of deers as well as sambar deer are there. The butterfly garden is also nice. The place also has 2-3 tree houses which is yet another highlight.The place is very well maintained with a nice park, swings and some really good photo spots. Parking is also lavish.

It's a very nice place amidst nature. Such a big forest with a few big elephants and lots of deer. Spotted Deer and Sambar Deer are seen. It has a very big parking space. Take your tickets and go inside. Toilet available but no lights inside. Cafeteria available but with less options. Children park is also there even swings for the adults. One watch tower to climb up and take pictures. On the other side boating is available. It's a nice place for a day outing. Elephant Training can be seen but not allowed to go near them. Roads are well connected. No hotels nearby. Better to come in the morning and enjoy here.

Good place to visit. Very calm place and we have a handful of things arranged by the eho tourism department. Main attractions are deer Park, elephant camp, children's park and butterfly garden. We can have walk for few distance through forest and the river view and the elephant bathing pool is another attractions on this place.

Athirappally Waterfalls is a "must-visit" for nature lovers, renowned for its spectacular, cascading waters and lush, verdant surroundings in Kerala, India. Visitors can bathe in the natural pools found in the upper part of the river near the falls. For the adventurous, there's a trek down to the base of the falls, though it can be slippery. The dense forest surrounding the falls offers a chance to experience spellbinding natural beauty. The area is also popular for birdwatching. Also famous being known as "Bahubali Falls" as clippings of Blockbuster flick "Bahubali" was shot here. It is also being featured in lot of Bollywood movies. PS:- Athirappilly Falls is a majestic sight! The water plunges from a height of 80 feet, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Highly recommended for visiting.

Great place to visit. Do visit there once. Initially when we reached there the water was low. But as time went the water raised. It was great. We were washed by the water hitting the stones. The scenes there was wonderful. There was so much crowd that time. We can buy the tickets and have to walk somtime to reach the top of the waterfalls. There are shops at the top. You can have tea or icecreams. Then on the right side there is a way to the view from the bottom of waterfalls. The way is somewhat adventurous. It will be difficult for people with joint issues. You have to walk down the road. The way to top is wheelchair accessible.

Beautiful place. A must-visit. I recommend going during the monsoon to see the waterfall in its full flow — it’s often called the Niagara Falls of India. Make sure to wear good anti-skid shoes, and be prepared for about 30 minutes of descending steps to reach the falls. During the monsoon season, it won’t be possible to get close to the waterfall due to the strong flow.

Beautiful place in the lap of nature. Must visit. Best time to visit is during rainy season . But going down nearer to the waterfalls is bit difficult.

The waterfall is majestic and powerful, surrounded by dense forest and fresh air. It’s truly a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and photography.

We took a detour from Kochi to Munnar and visited these beautiful waterfall. Word has it that certain scenes from the movie Baahubali were shot here. It's a short walk up from the roadhead - at the fork in the trail the left fork takes one to the top of the waterfall and the right fork leads one down a winding set stony steps and then a field of large rocks to the base of these wonderful waterfall. Well worth the detour to spend a couple of hours here!! There is a small fee one must pay to visit the falls. There is parking by the side of the road, but spotty cell signal.

Visited this temple during our coimbatore visit, this temple was suggested by Anandas hotel manager. The temple is located 12-15kms from coimbatore city. The Vinayagar idol is about 6ft tall and looks magnificent. The entire temple gives you a Devine feeling. There is a small garden and a marriage area inside the temple. Parking is available for 3 to 4 cars, there are shops to buy pooja items as well. this temple is located under the flyover and has continuous vehicle movement. This temple is special because many new bike or car buyers get their pooja done here. Many devotees also perform dristi removal ritual with coconut here. Nice place to add to your coimbatore list.

The temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM (straight - no break), and there are regular poojas throughout the day. According to legend, the idol was originally being taken to the Pateeswarar Temple in Perur from Madhurai, but the cart broke down near Eachanari. The idol became embedded in the soil, which devotees interpret as a divine sign, leading to the construction of the temple around it. The temple has undergone several significant updates over the years, with the first Kumbabhishekam held in 1977, and photographs from the ceremony are displayed at the temple. How to reach: • By car/taxi: It is about 12 km from Coimbatore city and takes roughly 30 minutes. (I was driving from Kerala via NH544 and NH968 to reach the temple) Note that the temple is located right by the roadside under a flyover, so parking can be challenging. • Public transport: Buses and taxis are available from Coimbatore, which is often more convenient due to traffic and limited parking.

This is the biggest Ganesha temple in Kongu region and a very old one as well. Located in a village some 5/6 kms from Ukkadam, this has both inner/outer prakarams, a function hall & parking area etc. Like the temple, the moolasthan moorthi is also large sized prominent deity. Nitya Pooja's, deeparadhana & prasams are integral part of daily activities here. A must visit temple in Coimbatore

The food, stay and the hospitality by the tribal people was awesome. The only place we had issues with the guide. Better to plan in Feb or March as you can see many animals due to summer. Kudos to the food preparation

Stay is very good. The wash rooms are kept neat and clean. Bedsheets and furnitures are cleanly maintained.

Excellent place. The rooms are neat and clean. In the morning, I saw a beautiful peacock sitting on the fence and saw a giant squirrel. This place is much more suitable for people visiting groups where you can get 6 rooms in the same place.

A guest house inside a deep forest maintained by kerela eco tourism. You can spot deers peacocks and sometimes elephants near this stay. The overall experience is amazing. But only drawback was even if drinking and smoking is banned here few tourist were drinking and smoking and created lot of chaos there. That ruined the place. Do not do that

The parking area is quite average, and on the way to the temple, there are many street vendors who can be a bit bothersome — it’s better to avoid them if possible. The temple is usually very crowded, and there’s often a long queue that can take at least 30 minutes for darshan. However, with a ₹100 special entry ticket, devotees can have a calmer and closer darshan of the deity. Masani Amman Temple is a famous and sacred Amman (Goddess) temple located near Pollachi in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, India. The goddess is also known as Masani Devi among North Indians. Nice drive from Coimbatore and special place to pray. If you want to have a quick darshan, get 50 rupees ticket and you can skip the line and do it in 10 mins.

The highlight here is the famous for ritual, where people grind red chilli into paste with their hand and rubs on god — many believe their problems are resolved soon after. This got ok toilets facility and full day free anadhanam.

Very peaceful, beautiful and an important place in the film history perspective. Better to visit in monsoon or the winter season, else the scorching sun will not allow your sense of relaxation to exist. Tender coconut is a bit costly, wondered why the land of coconut has become like this. There are other places better than this nearby. Need atleast two days to completely experience this out.

Aliyar Dam is in Tamil Nadu but it is part of the Parambikkulam-Aliyar Project. The dam is a good tourist destination. You can spend some time on the dam viewing the deep blue water in the reservoir and the surrounding hills. It is an excellent spot for photos. Usually there are several tourists on the dam. If you go there in the evening you will love the dam and the surroundings in the fading light.

One of my favourite dams in Tamil Nadu is this one. ​I love this place for its serene and nature-bound atmosphere. The dam offers a fantastic view of Valparai and other mountains. ​Don't miss the stunning view from atop the dam. Be sure to walk the full length to witness more scenic views of the bridge, the flowing water, and the surrounding mountains. The entire area seems to be covered with coconut trees. ​The small entry fee is well worth it to enjoy the beauty of the place. It's especially beautiful to visit on non-summer days. You'll find many small eateries outside the dam. ​This is a place you shouldn't miss when you're in Pollachi.

Aliyar Dam is a charming location surrounded by Annamali Hills with wonderful natural views. It is located between Pollachi and Valparai. The dam's location amidst the Western Ghats provides a stunning backdrop, and the surrounding hills and reservoir offer picturesque views. Mango orchid and coconut trees on the one side and hills and water on the other side. Absolute beauty. Entry fee is 5 ₹ person and 20₹ to carry mobile phones inside. Note they don’t accept UPI at the counter , so carry cash. Inside the premises they have various play stations - swings toy trains and many other kids play games - few of them are paid entry. You have to walk to the top of the damn via stairs - close to 100 steps .

Aliyar Dam, located a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Coimbatore city, is a scenic spot that’s perfect for tourists and nature enthusiasts. The combination of the serene dam waters, lush greenery, and towering mountains creates a picturesque setting that’s ideal for relaxing and clicking beautiful photos. The entry fee is quite affordable, just ₹5 per person for access to the garden attached to the dam. If you plan to take pictures using your mobile, there’s an additional ₹20 photography fee. The garden is well-maintained with smaller fountains adding to its charm. After exploring the garden, you can climb the stairs to get closer to the dam. One side of the dam is bordered by the scenic garden, while the other side is flanked by magnificent mountains, making it an incredible sight. Outside the garden, you’ll find some small vendors selling fruits and snacks, although they tend to charge slightly more as it’s a tourist area. However, during my visit, I didn’t see any vendors inside the garden itself. There are also a few shops near the entrance where you can grab some food. For families with children, the kids’ play area inside the garden is a thoughtful addition. If visiting during the daytime, especially in hot weather, it’s advisable to carry water bottles and a cap to stay comfortable. The best time to visit is in the evening when the weather is cooler and the views are even more magical. Parking facilities are available outside the garden, making it convenient for those arriving in private vehicles.

We spotted elephants, gaurs, macaques and many birds—tigers and leopards stay hidden but wildlife sightings are still exciting. The main hub is Top Slip, great for jeep safaris (7 AM–10 AM & 3 PM–5 PM) or elephant rides (11 AM–2 PM) — permits needed, book early 🎟️. Park is open 6 AM–6 PM; check‑posts close at 4 PM—don’t miss the 6 PM Valparai cutoff ⚠️. Roads are steep and narrow, drive carefully 🚗. No shops inside—carry water, snacks, and a camera. The reserve is rich in biodiversity—800+ plant species, 250+ birds ﹨cite﹂turn0search6﹂turn0search1﹁. Best time to visit is October to May for pleasant weather and sightings. Avoid weekends/holidays—they get crowded by midday. Stunning for nature‑lovers seeking calm forest trails, wildlife and views ✨.

Very serene place. We went around noon so it was a little hot but it was not that warm. We saw monkeys, deer, peacocks etc. but if it was evening time we could see more of them. There is a canteen near the top slip and washrooms were also available. Through this we can reach the kerala border through Parambikulam Tiger reserve but the road is not recommended. Better coming back through Aanamalai tiger reserve is best.

Nice place to chill over the weekends. We can see elephants live feeding at the camp, other wild animals like bison, deer, bird varieties, monkeys(not the one's that we usually see), wild squirrels, wild elephants etc. Try to be here early as possible, maybe around 6.30 so that you can see wild animals inside the reserve.

Good jungle safari. Spotted elephants, deep down the woods. Morning first safari we could enjoy fresh nature breeze as well as elephant’s feeding. Evening sessions may also have them bathing 😆😜

Mostly very hot place . Only day time we can travel through this forest area. Thick forest mostly we can see monkey, peacock,little birds . Can't stop the vehicle inbetween passing . Don't throw any waste & plastic items . Can experience a good forest drive . Fresh air .

The serene environment and stunning landscapes left us with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

the Eravikulam National Park would be good but the visitors are allowed only very very limited access. Secondly, There is no control on local village vehicles and both the Forest department vehicles and the local villager vehicles ply too fast which will affect the animal movement. Thirdly, we had hired a exclusive electrical vehicle for visit. wildlife sighting was limited to Lion-tailed macaque. the Vehicle driver had limited knowledge of wildlife of maybe a communication problem. Paying Rs 7500/ seemed too high, given the experience. the forest department should take care of these issues. The VR Show of Eravikulam National Park was good. The Eravikulam National Park has endangered Nilgiri Tahr, along with mammals like the Gaur, Sambar Deer, Nilgiri Langur, tiger, and leopard. The park is also a significant bird habitat, with 132 species recorded, including endemics such as the black-and-orange flycatcher and Nilgiri pipit. unlike we were not able to experience the wildlife, just the drive, most of which was lovely tea estates. A sincere request to forest department, to control vehicle speed and the noise pollution by vehicles

Brilliant place to visit if you love nature and magnificent views. A bus takes you from the entrance of the park to a quarter of the way up. After that you can walk to up to half way. It is not a long walk about 20 minutes at a slow pace. The views are magnificent and there are many springs and waterfalls along the way. I wish the path went up further and there were more different paths. It would be a hikers paradise.

A natural way and big walk. Enjoy a bit of nature. But nothing special otherwise than a walk up the hill. Could be strenuous for old or heart patients. Overall it's okay place. We didn't see any animals.

It's a beautiful place between fog and clouds. Eravikulam National Park is home of endangered species (Nilgiri Tahr) and many special species of plants and flowers!! And yes nature is mashallah❤️ But if you are going to see Nilgiri Tahr don't go, visibility of Nilgiri Tahr is very rare . So enjoy the nature don't expect anything. But yes we have seen wild elephants.

This is the tallest peak in Southern India , South of Himalayas. The peak towers at 8133 feet above sea level. It appears like. Elephant head , hence the name Anamudi (elephant head in Malayalam). Various places around munnar gives the majestic view of this peak, most prominent views are after Eravikulam national park.

The highest peak in India (apart from Himalayas) we drove all day to the Eravikulam National Park only to be told that you are not allowed to trek up Anamudi...you are only allowed to go 3km to the view point. This was a huge disappointment as we can here especially for this trek from the UK.

Anamudy is indeed a hill station in Idukki, Kerala, known for its breathtaking natural beauty. Families picnic on my slopes, couples stroll hand-in-hand, and trekkers conquer my peaks. My tranquility is only disturbed by the gentle rustling of leaves and chirping of birds. In the stillness, I reflect on the beauty of nature.

Anamudi is a mountain located in Ernakulam district and Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the highest peak in the Western Ghats and in South India, at an elevation of 2,695 metres (8,842 ft)The name Anamudi literally translates to "elephant's head" a reference to the resemblance of the mountain to an elephant's head. If visiting Eravikulam National park then you can get a good view of Anamudi Peak which is only a 2 hrs trek from Eravikulam National Park tourist point but common tourists are not allowed further than the viewpoint. Would for sure hire a local guide as they know how to get to and from the campsites that ate gated because of the tigers, elephants, and other creatures that may be destructive to us humans.

Trekking through Chinnar forest is some experience we will never forget. Don’t book this one for animal sightings, but for a peaceful walk through the jungle, you can watch a variety of birds though. The first visit was a trek to Vashyappara Peak. The second visit was to stay in the Pampar log house and have a couple trekking through the forest. The bath we had in the Pampar River was so refreshing.

I recently visited Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, and it was such a refreshing experience. 🌿✨ Located on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the whole place feels untouched, raw, and very close to nature. The drive itself was scenic — hills, forests, and fresh air everywhere. Once inside, the sanctuary offered a mix of wildlife, trekking, and peaceful landscapes. I spotted deer, monkeys, peacocks, and even rare birds. Though spotting elephants and leopards depends on your luck, the thrill of waiting quietly in the forest itself is worth it. 🐒🦌🦜 What I loved most: The guided trekking experience was safe, informative, and gave us a deeper connection with the forest. The watchtowers gave a panoramic view of the entire forest and surrounding hills. The rivers and waterfalls added a calm vibe, perfect for photography and relaxation. Facilities are basic — don’t expect luxury. It’s more about experiencing nature in its raw form. Food and stay options nearby are limited, so plan accordingly. Overall, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants a break from busy life. Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary stands out as a unique, unspoiled destination—definitely a must-do for serious nature lovers visiting Kerala. We opted for the guided wildlife trekking tour, The absolute highlight, however, was the trek up to the waterfall. The hike itself was beautiful, winding through dense, cool forest trails. When we finally arrived, the view was breathtaking.

Excellent tourist destination. Chinnar is on Kochi-Dhanushkodi National Highway. It is adjacent to the Tamil Nadu border. Chinnar is extremely good as a birding spot. You can also get some wild animals like sambar deer, barking deer, elephants, spotted deer, Malabar giant squirrel and the rare species called grizzled squirrel. There is trekking facility throughout the day. You will get tickets from the ticket counter and a guide will accompany you throughout the trekking. You can opt for a two hour trekking or a three hour trekking. You can also opt for a short walk to the watch tower. There are different kinds of accommodation arranged by the Forest Department.

Great place to visit. If you are lucky, will get animal sightings. They have trekking package and multiple stay options

It is my favorite land since 1997, and still continuing my love with Chinnar landscape and people. It is one of the best forest landscape in South India for walking safaris and jungle camp

"Berijam lake trip" => Silent valley view point->caps fly view point->berijam lake view point-> mathiketten sholai->berijam lake. All these are inside the forest where you cannot go on your own. You can take a forest trip via forest department canter vehicle( 20 seater). Ticket per person rs 250/-. Trip duration approx 2 hrs. Trip starts from Moir point. Sufficient parking space at Moir point to park your vehicle. Be there by 0930 am to catch a first trip. No online booking. Tickets will be issued inside the vehicle. Trip starts only after all seats are full. Second option is, you can take your own vehicle after obtaining prior permission from forest dept, located in kodaikanal. Forest trip is worth taking.

Best isolated place with less tourist where it is absolutely silent , free from pollution and vehicle noise. It’s just nature and you. You can also find some wild animals and birds along the way. Only limited vehicles are allowed inside with permits issued at forest office or you can come directly buy the tickets and forest department will take you for short tour in a van with forest department personal.

Go to the other side of the lake as well. Beautiful spot near the restroom side.

Worth place to visit in Kodaikanal.. Need to get permission from forest office for the car or there is a shuttle facility arranged by forest department from Moir point. Costing ₹250 - ₹500

It is at the end of the forest trail tour package of Kodaikanal,after silent valley, caps point and Madhikettan Shola view, you come to the Berijam Lake view' from where you get an eagle's view of the lake. The lake itself comes after further drive for one or two km. Half the lake is filled with lilies and the other half is clear. A walk around the lake, at the edge of the tiger and bison territory, is the feature of the lake. Because it is deep inside the forest it is serene but some noisy tourists disturb it by testing their decibels. Shouting nuisance should be prohibited here. Otherwise, you can spend half an hour walking and sitting on the banks of the lake.

Loved the calm and cool atmosphere here. Walking among the tall pine trees felt refreshing and peaceful. We took some great photos, and the kids enjoyed running around. There were a few monkeys around, its fun to watch, but we had to be careful with snacks, but they added to the fun experience. It was a bit crowded but still a wonderful place to visit.

The green cover looked even more beautiful this month, and the light filtering through the trees created magical views. This is our third visit to this place. God has been kind to us this time- we could get very clear views of the pillar rocks. A great creation of nature. However parking of vehicles can be tricky with very limited places. There is an entry ticket of Rs 20 per adult

If you are in Kodaikanal then this is a must visit place in your list wherever you go if you didn’t find the best climate but still here you will feel the best climate. Pillars rock view point is one of the finest to click your photography skills the nature will come deep into your camera

When I visited, the skies were cloudy, so it was hard to see much, though I still got glimpses of the surrounding hills and forests. The rock pillars rise dramatically from the valley and give a sense of awe. There are small shops nearby for snacks and souvenirs, making it a nice spot for nature lovers and photographers.

Good spot for viewing the pillar rocks 🤩, There is a entry fee of 10 rupees per person. If the climate is good we can see the two rocks clearly, otherwise it will be covered in fogs. Must visit this place while going to Guna cave.

On a Saturday, the crowds were very big. On top of that, the clouds and mist were engulfing the pillar rock every now and then. ₹10 entry ticket for adults. A board read here: MR. Very good location but need to wait for the fog to get clear, once fog get clear you will get a wonderful view of the valley and pillar rock.

This lake is situated at a very high level from the sea. The climate is almost cool. We can enjoy it there by cycling, horse riding,pedestal boat services and beautiful flower gardens near this lake

I visited this lake and really liked the atmosphere. Boating and cycling were enjoyable, though it was quite crowded during the day. There’s also a market around the lake with souvenirs, food, and local chocolates. But for me, the best part was at night — the place becomes almost empty, and that’s when you can truly enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of nature.

I visited this beautiful place in early June 2024. It’s a wonderful spot for a casual walk with your loved ones, offering the feeling of strolling along the edges of a mountain while being completely safe. I’d recommend avoiding school holiday periods, as heavy traffic jams during that time can eat up a lot of your day.

the place offers a great aerial view of kodiakanal, it's very near to Kodiakanal bus stop walkable distance. one can sit and enjoy snacks while watching fog. it has two entrances and remains open till 6.30 pm in the evening.

A peaceful and memorable visit to Madurai Meenakshi Temple I recently visited the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and it was a beautiful experience. The temple is grand and full of history, with amazing carvings and colorful towers. At the moment, the towers are under renovation and painting work is going on, so most of them are covered. Still, the temple’s beauty and energy can be felt everywhere. Inside, the atmosphere is calm and spiritual. The darshan of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar felt very peaceful. Even though it was crowded, everything was fairly well organized. One thing to be careful about — there are a lot of people outside trying to mislead visitors, especially auto drivers and some shopkeepers. They might say there’s no cloakroom inside, but don’t believe that. There are official cloakrooms near all four temple towers where you can safely keep your slippers and mobile phones. This place is awesome. A lot of spiritual values with history. Located in between City. Market, shops, restaurant near by. Special Darshan can be available with 100 rs ticket for both temple inside the campus. Free darshan takes more time than usual. Now painting work is going on. And maybe it will six months atleast so now people not able to see it's beautiful architecture from outside. Mobile, Smart watch, earbuds etc not allowed inside temple. U can kept it in claok room with reasonable price less than 20rs accordingly. No special dress code required for this temple. Nearest junction is madurai and auto available easily or u can go by walk.

One of the most famous Temple of India , situation in Madurai. It's temple of Meenakshi Amman otherwise known as Devi Parvathi. Don't miss this temple ,it's also one of the oldest temple in India . Best time to visit will be during 5 or 6 AM in the morning,so that you can finish darshan in less than 30mins ,it gets crowded later in the day . I wish they keep the surrounding of temple a little bit more clean . Mobile isn't allowed inside .

I visited the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, and the experience was truly exceptional. I loved the temple with all my heart. The architecture is breathtaking, and they are still working on certain areas to make it even better. Every intricate detail on the walls is impressive and reflects the temple’s rich heritage. The people there are incredibly pure and kind-hearted. Their warmth and the way they treat visitors stood out to me—they genuinely make you feel respected and welcomed. Before entering the temple, there are a few important rules to follow. You must remove your shoes, and bags have to be deposited at the designated counters. Shoe storage is available for free at specific counters, which is very convenient. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the temple premises, and you cannot leave your phone inside your bag. There is a special counter meant only for mobile phones, where they charge ₹5 per phone. So if you are planning to visit, it’s best to come hands-free or carry only what’s necessary so you can enter peacefully and enjoy the temple without any hassle. Overall, it was a soulful and memorable experience, and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling to Madurai.

The inner sanctum of Goddess Meenakshi is truly divine. 3. Architectural Highlights: Be sure to spend time in the Hall of Thousand Pillars (Aayiram Kaal Mandapam)—the carving and symmetry are mind-blowing (even though there are 985, not a literal thousand!). Also, don't miss the Golden Lotus Tank (Potramarai Kulam); it provides a beautiful, reflective view of the Southern gopuram. A quick tip for your visit: Mobile phones and cameras are generally not allowed inside, so please use the dedicated deposit counter. Do not visit this place until they finish their renovation. It’s total waste of money and time. On each side of main building which is under renovation, there are two galleries. One is paid and another is either free or included in the price. Staffs at both centre were taking their mid noon nap and was not bothered to greet or say hello. All what’s on display was in a very bad state. There were lots of spelling mistakes on all the writings. Someone accountable, please have a look. This is not what a Gandhi Museum in India should look like even when it’s on renovation. Very very very disappointed and has never seen anything pathetic like this.

Didn't go there. This is always in renovation. Wase r of time. Glad that ticket cost is not so high, just ten rupees per adult and five rupees for kids. Museum renovated for ever ..this is a bad administration for all relevant departments. And it's a huge reputation damage to the City. I urge honorable district collector sir to jump in an look into this on priority.

Main museum is under renovation (it was supposed to have reopened by now), government museum is often closed depending on the day, and the only thing to see is a small exhibit on the Indian independence movement, a replica of Gandhi’s house, and a shrine that (supposedly) contains some of his ashes. Worth 30-45 minutes if you’re already in the area otherwise skip it - you can get the same information about Gandhi online quite easily. Also why is there a giant T-Rex at a Gandhi memorial? Seems a bit distasteful.

I visited this place on 17th July 2025. There was only a small gallery where you could learn about india's journey from when the britishers started colonising to the independence period.. it would take 30- 40 mins to see this gallery. A lot of history that we learned in school and more can be understood from here. In addition to this there is a small museum that was open. There is also a small memorial where Gandhijis ashes are kept. However, the main museum was closed for renovation. Based on my interaction with one staff member, it seems the closed part of the museum would re-open on 2nd October 2025. Pls check with the latest info.. i have seen many reviewers criticizing the staff working there. However, i never faced any issues and the staff were very polite.

The government museum was closed as we visited on a second Saturday. Some sections of the museum were set up on some individual buildings which we could see. Our experience was good.

It is closed to mountain and no traffic and nice road quility. 3) travel in evening try to reach before 4:00 PM so you can enjoy all 3 temple and on the way to mountain lots of monkeys (not so harmful) but drive safely

Before visiting to this temple that I was not aware about the story of how lord Vishnu played the role of brother for durga mata in her marriage...and thus temple is dedicated to brother of Durga maa that is kallazghar akka vishnu ji.. This temple is really mesmerizing...in love with this temple because of location, the carvings, the positivity of the temple that you will feel instant divine connection. The famous kal alagar temple located in the hills of alagarmalai is quite a beautiful place to visit in Madurai. There’s a huge parking area outside the temple complex. The gopuram is tall and sculptures are well preserved. The main shrine is located 100 meters approx from the main entrance. Average waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays

The temple is truly beautiful, and the prasadham is excellent. If devotees visit, the free line moves faster than the paid one, which is convenient. The Ramanujar shrine is a peaceful spot where you can rest, and the Perumal looks stunning. A visit to Shakarathalvar is a must, but before that, make sure to stop by the Karupu Swami Kovil at the entrance—the aroma of his sandhanam is heavenly. After that, you can see Azhagar and explore the other shrines at a slow and relaxed pace, making the visit truly enjoyable. The temples maintainance was so good and kept clean.

Recently visited the Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. Wonderful experience. Mesmerizing idol of Lord Murugan. Surprisingly people weren't understanding when we asked the direction to Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple. It's popularly known as Solaimalai Murugan Temple. The temple is located about 25 kilometres north of Madurai, atop a hill covered with dense forests. One of the six important abodes of the deity Murugan located in Tamil Nadu, it is close to the Alagar Perumal Temple. Around 3 kms from Alagar Kovil, there's a small ghat road to the top of hill. The road is excellent. Govt free bus service is available but one needs to wait in long queues. Many people come by walking. Roadside parking available on top of the hill. Temple will be open from morning 6am to evening 6 pm. No break in between. Darshan usually takes 1-2 hrs during weekends. There's Rs. 100 quick darshan service available which takes around 30 mins.

Pazhamudhircholai, one of Lord Murugan’s Arupadai Veedu, is where Avvai Patti received wisdom from Murugan himself — about hot and cold fruits! I visited on a Sunday around 5:30 pm, there was quite a crowd, so I took the ₹100 darshan ticket. If you wait for about 30 minutes, the rush settles down and you can have a peaceful darshan. The picture gallery is lovely they even give a Murugan Valli Devasenai photo with a coin, a nice keepsake for pooja, travel, or gifting to others. The temple layout is beautiful: Vinayagar shrine comes first, Murugan with Valli and Devasenai in the center, and the Vel shrine at the end. Set on a hill, the place is cool and serene though the monkeys are plenty and a bit aggressive thanks to frequent feeding. So, guard your food and belongings! A visit here is a true delight, especially to see the ancient Kadugal and soak in the divine calm of the hills.

Small temple from the Aarupadai lot and open at all times. Vehicle parking is available on the road sides. Slightly ghat section and people will be walking all along to climb up/down. You will see much crowd in boarding the bus rather than at the Temple itself. Highly recommended to go on own transport.

Very good temple and no heavy rush simple darsan, even in the weekend also. It takes only 15 minutes for darsan. Deity also devotional made with alankaram and properly visible.

I feel very have that i have visited this historical temple, The stone curving is amazing, If you have plan to visit,prefer Early morning visit. There are some fresh up place near by. They open by 6 am Pooja timing 8:30 to 9:15 am, No charges for Archanai.

Must visit place at Chettinad. Their arrangement of queue for darsan is something we should appreciate. And old cave temple. The large vinayaka inside all are very much attractive. You could spend some good time there. You would face some traffic block there as there s much crowd at holidays. One more thing if you are visiting here just visit vintage car n camera museum nearby

A beautiful and peaceful temple. Please plan to visit and take blessings of Lord Ganesha to move forward. There is a strict ban on use of mobile phone inside the temple premises. So please take care of that and also a strict dres code is followed. The temple has a lot of rich history and importance. There is no ticket and limited security to control the movement of crowd so there can be chaos. The parking space is ample and it is paid parking. The temple is well connected by state bus and you can get taxi from nearby places like Madurai or Karaikudi

It’s the responsibility of devotees to keep it clean as well. No photo and video is allowed inside the temple. Plenty of parking spaces around the temple and the pond in front of it is very beautiful. Definitely everyone should visit here to get the blessing of lord Vinayagar.

Nice Small Fort. Family friendly area. 50 to 75 steps but manageable . Avoid heat timings or use an umbrella. Left side a siva linga available. Careful while on the ladder. Totally worthy of you having extra time while going through nearby area.

The Fort Structure is large and has a towering granite walls with cannon(artillery gun). Rock cut Temple, Impressive sculptures. Lord shivalinga is also there inside it hard to climb so avoid that. Well maintained fort by TN govt. Ticket: 25 for Adult. Wear Sensible Footwear: The site involves climbing, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Visit in the Morning: Exploring in the morning offers a quieter experience. Limited Facilities: Some reviews mention a lack of amenities, so plan accordingly.

The fort will not be an apt word for this. Seems like a watch tower to me. It has a Siva temple which I saw. But in google it says there is a Vishnu temple and a darbar too in it which I couldn't identify. No guide , no signages . Archeological India should ensure all these exist. The entry by paying in office is 25/person, payment online it's 20/ person. Why this disparities is not clear. Should display and promote local items sale .

Best place to visit at evening... I enjoyed so much... At the top of the fort you can see the whole city.. actually fort wall designed layer by layer to prevent and attack the enemies.. near fort siva and perumal kudaivarai statue temple is located.. you can visit that also... Especially the perumal statue looks amazing and it's very big palli konda perumal... Thank you for mr.manoj murugan he took us there and explained about that temple...

VISITED IN SEPT 2025 ON THE WAY TO MADURAI. YOU CAN SEE THIS BEAUTIFUL FORT OVER A MASSIVE ROCK FROM THE HIGHWAY ITSELF. CURIOSITY DRIVES TO THIS AREA AND ALSO FOUND A MARVELLOUS TEMPLE INSIDE THIS ROCK AREA. FORT WAS BUILT IN 1687 . VEERAPANDYA KATTABOMMAN A HEROIC PALAYAKKARA CHIEFTAIN BRAVELY FOUGHT AGAINST BRITISH RULE IN THIS AREA AND BEEN HANGED BY THE WHITES.HIS BROTHER OOMATHURAI ALSO CONTINUED HIS FOOTSTEPS AND KILLED BY BRITISH IN THIS FORT.

The location of the resort is excellent, close to the Ariyaman Beach. However, the overall maintenance of the property is quite poor. The swimming pool was dirty, and the mini waterfalls were surrounded by an unclean environment. The garden area also lacked proper upkeep. While the food served was decent, the dining and common areas were not well-maintained. The kids' play area had broken rides, making it unsafe and unappealing for children. On a positive note, Mr. Iyappa was very courteous and took good care of us. He even offered small gifts to our kids, which we appreciated. The pricing was reasonable, but the resort desperately needs better maintenance to match its potential and location.

The rooms are quite different, designed with a nature-based theme. There's a bit of sand and a mild smell, but overall they’re good for staying. The swimming pool and water park are enjoyable, while the food is of average taste

After dhanushakodi, this is the most famous beach in rameshwaram. You can reach here with your car. Highly recommended. You can enjoy a meal at kadal virundhu family sea food restaurant. They serve authentic sea food. Must try their combo.
