You can enjoy views from different points, including the top of the falls and the base, though the trek down to the base is a 1 km path that can be challenging. Visitors can bathe in the natural pools found in the upper part of the river near the falls. For the adventurous, there's a trek down to the base of the falls, though it can be slippery. The dense forest surrounding the falls offers a chance to experience spellbinding natural beauty. The area is also popular for birdwatching. Also famous being known as "Bahubali Falls" as clippings of Blockbuster flick "Bahubali" was shot here. It is also being featured in lot of Bollywood movies. PS:- Athirappilly Falls is a majestic sight! The water plunges from a height of 80 feet, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Highly recommended for visiting.

Great place to visit. Do visit there once. Initially when we reached there the water was low. But as time went the water raised. It was great. We were washed by the water hitting the stones. The scenes there was wonderful. There was so much crowd that time. We can buy the tickets and have to walk somtime to reach the top of the waterfalls. There are shops at the top. You can have tea or icecreams. Then on the right side there is a way to the view from the bottom of waterfalls. The way is somewhat adventurous. It will be difficult for people with joint issues. You have to walk down the road. The way to top is wheelchair accessible.

Beautiful place. A must-visit. I recommend going during the monsoon to see the waterfall in its full flow — it’s often called the Niagara Falls of India. Make sure to wear good anti-skid shoes, and be prepared for about 30 minutes of descending steps to reach the falls. During the monsoon season, it won’t be possible to get close to the waterfall due to the strong flow.

Beautiful place in the lap of nature. Must visit. Best time to visit is during rainy season . But going down nearer to the waterfalls is bit difficult.

We took a detour from Kochi to Munnar and visited these beautiful waterfall. Word has it that certain scenes from the movie Baahubali were shot here. It's a short walk up from the roadhead - at the fork in the trail the left fork takes one to the top of the waterfall and the right fork leads one down a winding set stony steps and then a field of large rocks to the base of these wonderful waterfall. Well worth the detour to spend a couple of hours here!! There is a small fee one must pay to visit the falls. There is parking by the side of the road, but spotty cell signal.

The main deity, Lord Rama, is worshipped here in a majestic form with four arms — holding the conch, chakra, bow, and garland. Locally known as Triprayarappan, this form of Rama is said to be very powerful and kind. 🛕 What I loved: The traditional Kerala-style architecture is stunning — the circular sanctum, golden roof, and wooden carvings reflect our rich culture. The temple surroundings are very clean and peaceful. The “Meenootu” (feeding fish) ritual in the temple pond was so unique and calming. Attending the Deeparadhana (evening pooja) gave me goosebumps — such divine energy! 📿 The temple is also the starting point of the famous Nalambalam Yatra, and it plays a key role in the Arattupuzha Pooram festival. ✅ Tips: Visit early morning or in the evening for a peaceful darshan. Wear traditional dress — mundu/saree/churidar. Don’t miss the riverside view and the fish feeding. This temple is a Sree Rama Kshetram and is located on the banks of river. The temple is having a huge outer prakaram, annashala, exclusive approach road etc. This is part of " Naal (4) Ambalam" in the Thrissur area and has connections to Ramayana Purana.

Located near the Vadakumnathan temple, where the famous thrissur pooram festival happens. Temple is dedicated to Bhagavathy amman. There is a strict dress code for men in this temple. Men are not allowed to wear shirt and baniyan, also pants/ trousers are not allowed. Men should be bare chested and wear a veshti alone. But ladies don’t have a strict dress code. Temple area is very nicely maintained.

Dwajasthambam (Gold plated – Gold about 10 kgs), balipeedam and a 13 stages deepasthambam/ metal lamp are in front of the temple. Dwarapalakis are on both side walls of the entrance gopuram. In sanctum sanctorum the old idol of the Goddess Paramekkavu Bhagavathy was a wooden idol (daru silpa). A Panchaloka Vigraha was installed latter. Bas-reliefs of Durga, Aman, Arjuna on a Charriot from the epic Mahabharata, Maha Vishnu’s Ananta Sayanam are on the front wall of sanctum sanctorum. In sanctum Bhagavathy is in a sitting posture with right leg folded and left leg is hanging. Sree Bhagavathy is with 8 hands holding various weapons, like Silambu, sickle, Trishul, emathandu, Sword, Snake, kai vattala, etc. Vinayagar, Saptamatrikas, Shiva as Veerabhadra, Nagars, Brahma Rakshasa and Melakavu Bhagavathy (Originally this was the place where animals are sacrificed. After the ban of animal sacrifice, this Mela Bhagavathy temple was constructed) are in this temple. ARCHITECTURE The temple consists of Sree kovil, namaskara mandapam, nalambalam with entrance / exist on the 4 cordinal directions, pradakshinapatha, and thriuchuttambalam. The Sree kovil is rectangular in plan on an adhistanam. The namaskara mandapam is in front of sree Kovil. The temple walls are built with laterite stone plastered with mud and lime. A Kerala style guttur tiled roof pyramidal vimana is on the adhistanam. The Sree kovil walls are with mural paintings.

Essential Visitor Information- Dress Code: Be aware of the strict dress code for men: they must remove their shirts and enter with their torsos bare above the waist. Worship Time: Due to the large number of devotees, your time in front of the main deity is very brief—you typically get only 30–45 seconds to see and pray to the divine lord. Closing Hours: The temple is extremely punctual with its closing schedule. It shuts down exactly at 11:30 AM on weekends/special days and 11:00 AM on normal weekdays. Plan your visit accordingly to ensure you don't miss the morning darshan. A Tip for Tourists Be mindful of the lottery sellers operating just outside the temple gates. They can be quite persistent in trying to lure tourists into buying tickets. It’s best to politely decline and keep moving. Overall, this is a beautiful and spiritual experience! There are also plenty of small shops and local eateries around the temple, where you can enjoy a good cup of tea or any ice cream or traditional Kerala snacks ouside the round bounday after your visit. Parking can get a bit crowded during peak hours, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. In short Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple isn’t just a religious site and it’s a place where spirituality, history, and Keralas cultural essence meet beautifully. Finally I would say that it's a Must visit for anyone who wants to feel the soul of Thrissur and Kerala’s heritage.

Most famous temple in thrissur where thrissur pooram is celebrated. We visited there in the evening after 5pm (suggesting you the same). No dress code like traditional dress like mundu and saree in this temple. But men has to remove their shirts while visiting the main deity. After coming out we sat near the temple and watched sunset.

A peaceful and affordable spot in the heart of Thrissur, this zoo and museum offer a mix of wildlife, history, and nature. Though small, it houses animals, birds, a snake park, and a lovely museum with Kerala’s traditional art and artifacts. Great for families and kids. Needs a bit of modernization, but still worth a short visit.

Thrissur Zoo is a decent place to spend a few hours, especially if you’re visiting with kids or have an interest in wildlife. The zoo has a fair variety of animals and birds, and the adjoining natural history museum adds some educational value to the visit. The lush greenery and shaded paths make walking around pleasant. However, some enclosures feel a bit small and could be better maintained. The layout can be confusing for first-time visitors, and a few areas look like they need renovation. It’s not a bad experience overall, but there’s room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and animal care. A good visit if you’re in the area, but not something worth traveling far for.

Visited the Thrissur Zoo recently and had a pleasant experience. Though not very large, the zoo offers a peaceful environment with a decent variety of animals, birds, and reptiles.  Clean pathways and shaded areas make it a relaxing visit, though some parts could use better signage and upgrades. Overall, a calm and affordable outing for families and nature lovers visiting Thrissur.

The entrance fee for one person is Rs. 20, and for children, there is nothing to see in this museum except a tiger, a lion, a spotted deer, and a few snakes. I learned that all the animals here have been moved to the largest natural park in Thrissur, which is about to open. Those who want to visit Thrissur should go to the Thrissur National Park. I felt that spending time there was a waste.

The zoo could use some improvement. A few animals appeared unwell and their living conditions seemed inadequate. Overall, it wasn’t a very enjoyable or relaxing visit, so I would suggest considering other options for now.

Only 20 rupees ticket fee per person. Variety of plants , trees and animals can be seen. No plastic items or food items are allowed inside. Monday is holiday. Othr days open from 10 to 5pm.variety of dears, fox, hipapotamus, tiger, cheetah, lion, crocodile, snakes, monkeys, birds can be seen.Benches to rest are also available.Food area is also available outside the zoo.parking is available outside. Total hygenic and environment friendly atmosphere is maintained by the staffs. Best spot to visit especially with your kids.

They're moving the zoo, so there aren't many animals. The museum's alright. No parking, need to park on the street. Costs 15 for adults and 40 for family of 4.

A beautful dam located inside the Vazhani forest range. Tourists are not allowed. Got the chance to visit the dam as part of seed ball throwing programme by forest department. Luckily it was during the rainy season and the valve of dam were open. It was a beautiful view that the water flowinv through the step by step path arranged.

Good place with less crowded. Nice ambience and easy to walk into the odd forest safe area and explore the water flow. Better to visit in aug sep time after raining.

Best adventurers picnic spot. Asurankundu Dam is a perfect place to rest your wandering soul for few hours. This place have a Devine calmness around it. It is a small dam 12 Km away from Wadakkanchery in Thrissur district of Kerala. The road on the right side at Attoor in the Vazhakkad- Plazhi road leads to the dam area. As you move from the serene Attoor region to the dam area, you have to pass through the wildness of Machad Forest. The lush green area with neatly planted trees in between reminds one of the forest paths. This path ends at the dam. With great view the dam lies elegantly in a vast area of forest. There is a 1 feet wide path to walk over the dam. The clear sky, the beautiful landscape and the ripples in the gentle water makes you feel relaxed and happy. The black palmyra leaves waving gently on the trees and the small rock mounts seen everywhere gives this place a surreal and disarming beauty. Although it is naturally blessed, the place doesn’t have many visitors and is a quiet place to enjoy the day. Here you can find many shrubs and herbs which have been fast disappearing from even remote villages. Asurankundu is the ‘rehabilitation’ area of snakes which are caught by the forest department at Vadakkanchery, Akamala, Machad and Chelakkara. Asurankundu and the surrounding areas are also a land of biodiversity.

The place is just 30km away from Thrissur city... Amazing place for any nature lover..for those of you visiting the place expecting just the beautiful views of any other dam, you are all in for a treat... You can trail through the forest experiencing the vivid natural beauty around you.. Also, if you can travel there during monsoon, there is a multilevel waterfall-like structure (shown in picture) which is perfectly safe as well as relishing..

The asurangundu dam located in the Attoor vadakkaanchery of thrissur district. The beautiful place in the middle of forest.clean and quiet. Great view of trees from the dam. Chavakad beach is, like any beach, fascinating giant waves, yes waving you to come near get drenched in the salty water enthusiastically calling you inviting you like a friendly host which very rarely you can resist.. The great grand sea continuously roaring with white hearted foam, the waves humbly bending the face like a young wife blushing.. You can't take it that way always.. at times gets ferocious and swallows whatever coming on its way. Anyway enjoy the sea from a distance safely sitting on the beach. Chavakad beach tells these to you when you go there. Don't miss it. 🙂🙂👍

The place is great with comparatively less number of people. The main problem here is some guys are suspicious and were always looking for our bag while we were in the sea. Security there is a lack. Otherwise Sun set view in there is magical

We visited Chavakkad Beach in the evening around 4 PM. The beach was very neat and clean, and we really enjoyed our time there. My daughter had a wonderful time playing in the sand and watching the waves. However, it is not safe to go deep into the sea, so we stayed near the shore and played carefully. There are small shops near the beach where you can buy snacks and drinks. We traveled from Guruvayoor to the beach by auto-rickshaw. The auto fare was ₹200 one way, so it cost us ₹400 for the round trip. Overall, it was a beautiful and refreshing experience at Chavakkad Beach.

The options for food around the beach are limited, so bring snacks if you’re planning to stay a while. the Bharathapuzha River meets the Arabian Sea — this “azhimukham” gives the place a very unique vibe. Little crowd, the devasthanam can make little proper arrangements for the people standing in line , no proper water facilities or restroom facilities for those who are standing in line. Fans are there but not working. Water they are giving but only once. But the people are standing & sitting in the line for 4-5 hours. Please kindly make those arrangements

For Anna Prashan ticket they will allow Parents & kids only. If other they have to take special tickets. These tickets will be available inside the temple only. Special lane will be there to get these tickets and queue will start inside the dwajasthambam. Note: Avoid on Special day especially with kids.it will take 4 hours for Sarva darshan. Not even allowed the bags and kids things only allowed if it's very small bag.

We happened to be in Cochin for the final phase of a project. After nearly three months of meticulous planning and execution, the work was finally nearing completion. Guruvayur Temple, one of the most revered shrines of Lord Krishna, immediately came to mind. The temple was just 95 kilometers away from Cochin, a drive of about 2 hours and 40 minutes through the heart of Kerala’s lush landscapes and vibrant villages. The thought of leaving behind the busy city streets of Cochin and immersing ourselves in the serene, devotional atmosphere of Guruvayur felt like the perfect way to celebrate the successful near-completion of our project. More than a break, it was a pilgrimage—an opportunity to seek divine blessings for the journey completed, and for the many yet to come.

The great Deluge has submerged Sree Krishna's abode Dwaraka and the Lord, as a playful child, was frolicking on a banyan leaf tossed about by the surging waters. Devaguru Brihaspathi and wind god Vayu stumble upon him where upon the Lord himself handed over to them the idol of the Supreme Lord that he has been worshipping at Dwaraka, with instructions to have it installed and consecrated at an appropriate spot on earth. Guru and Vayu then descended on the banks of a sprawing lake Rudratheertha rendered holy by Lord Shiva who has been doing penance there for ages. Realizing the purpose of the visit Lord Shiva suggested the consecration there itself on the bank of Rudratheertha and obligingly moved over to a near by location on the other side of the Rudhra theertha. The place where Guru and Vayu consecrated the idol of Lord Krishna became GURUVAYOOR and the site that Lord Shiva chose for himself and his consort Sree Parvathy became Mahimayur, mahima evolving out of the status bestowed on Lord Shiva for voluntarily relinquishing his initial abode to accommodate Lord Krishna. Mammiyoor Temple is a peaceful and divine place located close to Guruvayur Temple. The temple has a calm and positive atmosphere, perfect for a quiet spiritual visit. Currently, some renovation and maintenance works are going on, but darshan is still smooth and well managed. The temple premises are clean, and the staff and devotees maintain good discipline. It’s believed that a visit to Guruvayur Temple is complete only after visiting Mammiyoor, so this is definitely a must-visit for devotees.

The complex consists of both Shiva and Maha Vishnu sannidhis side by side with common entrance. Dwarapalakas are on both sides of the entrance to the sanctum sanctorum. Balipeedam and Rishabam are in front of Shiva’s sannidhi and only balipeedam infront of Maha Vishnu sannidhis. In praharan Ganapati, Murugan and Ayyappan. The parivara deities’ sannidhis are in construction. ARCHITECTURE Both Shiva and Vishnu Temples are constructed in the same line facing east. A Rishabam and balipeedam are infront of the temple. Both temples are on adhistanam and temple was built like house with mangalore tiles roop. Thease two temples are again under a shed with metal truss.

Temple is under construction and we went by 11.05 AM but the sannadhi was closed but in internet it was mentioned as 12.30 PM. Very old architecture was missed out but the place has its own power and divinity.

It’s heartbreaking to witness such cruelty masked as tradition, especially when elephants are considered sacred in our culture. Where is the compassion in our devotion? If worship doesn’t include empathy for the beings we use in rituals, is it truly divine?

Olappamanna Mana, one of the centuries old feudal Namboothiri homestead, located at Vellinezhi, a small village 40 kms away from Palakkad town in Kerala, less than 100 kms away from Cochin / Coimbatore / Calicut airports. Vellinezhi surrounded by the unpolluted river Kunthi on northern and western side, is literarily known as ‘Thourathrika Gramam’ meaning the village with a perfect blend of Music, Rhythm and Dance. Olappamanna is the family name of feudal lords belonging to the priestly Brahmin Caste of Kerala, namely Namboothiris. They were patrons of art forms like Kathakali, Percussion, Classical Music, and Literature, Vedic and Sanskrit education, and were immensely rich, till the Land Reforms Act was implemented in Kerala during 1965-70. The ancient illam is an ettukettu structure, having 2 central courtyards or nadumuttams, open to the sky. In an ettukettu, literally 8 parts, there are typically two rectangular structures, each having 4 halls facing four directions, joined together with a central courtyard. The present most popular form of Kathakali, namely Kalluvazhi Chitta named after the village of Kalluvazhi nearby, originated at Olappamanna Mana nearly 150-200 years ago. The Olappamanna Kaliyogam (School of Kathakali) where the style stemmed from, was relocated to Kerala Kalamandalam at Cheruthuruthy by founder & poet Vallathol for perfection of teaching the Art form. Similarly a magazine exclusively for Poetry was published from this Mana during early 20th century. O.M.C. Narayanan Namboothiri Pad has translated the whole Rig Veda into Malayalam from Sanskrit. Olappamanna Mana has given birth to famous Malayalam poet Olappamanna Subramanian Namboothirippad, Malayalam poet Dr. O.M.Anujan, Children's book writer Mrs. Sumangala among others. World famous Carnatic Musician Chembai Vaidya Natha Bhagavathar used to teach in this Mana. The unique Rig Vedic institution at Thrissur namely Brahmaswam Madham is very closely connected with the members of this family for the last 200 years, and is still continuing.. There is a temple inside Olappamanna mana, and annually in February, a temple festival is celebrated with elephants, melam and other rituals. Since the land ceiling act came, the inmates had to leave all the splendour, as thousands of acres of land owned by them were taken over by the Government, without any compensation. Such a stringent land ceiling law was implemented only in Kerala State in India. It has become impossible for the owners to stay in such a big house without sufficient servants and inmates. Now the main building is kept under lock and key, except for opening it every day morning and evening for conducting rituals to their family deity. The maintenance of the building itself has become very costly and the present owners are struggling for want of funds. It’s a pity that such architectural treasures has to face negligence from the authorities. Now and then, the premises are given out for film shoots. We travelled around 20 kms to visit the mana(old brahmin mansion). Place is unwelcome for visitors unless you take prior booking. This is believed to be their private residence. The gates were shut and a signage said- No visitors, do not tresspass. Very disappointing. So better check before you travel to avoid disappointment. Trip advisor review says they permit people with prior booking. However not sure how to contact them !!

A beautiful structure and surroundings.. The Mana is amazing. Lovely place.. But the visitor are not allowed to inside nowadays..

Olappamanna mana is one of the oldest mana (house) of brahmins of kerala. It is around 300 years old construction having great cultural heritage in the field of arts and literature. Famous Carnatic Musician Chembai Vaidya Natha Bhagavathar and famous poet Olappamanna Subramanian Namboothiripad were from this Mana. Now it is a famous location for film shooting.

Manager told us to come between 10am and 12pm but when we went there it was closed and the aged person there arrogantly took us back.. saying that we had to contact the manager and take prior booking and come.. Didn’t even allowed to watch from outside even after saying that we were coming from far away place for the second time.

Calm and quiet.. Surroundings are awesome. Planning to take a DSLR with you might dig holes in your pocket. Try to contact the supervisor before your visit.

The main important point is that the last ticket is issued at 5:00 PM. While Google Maps shows a closing time of 6:30 PM, tickets are no longer issued after 5:00 PM. Many families arrive between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM only to be turned away. It’s a great place to enjoy with family and friends, offering good vibes and scenic viewpoints along the way. There’s a 20-40 minute walk to the top, making it perfect for nature lovers. The best time to visit is in the evening.

Had a wonderful trip to the top of the hill at noon time in October. Small treck with nearly 4 km distance and felt cool breeze at the top. Evening will be great🥰

Water is available near the amenity center close to the watchtower. Be prepared for the final 500 meters, a steep and straight ascent that can feel particularly demanding after the preceding walk. The panoramic view from the watchtower offers a tranquil reward, with gentle breezes rustling through the mountain meadows and a beautiful evening sky often gracing the horizon. To avoid the discomfort of intense heat, it's best to plan your visit outside the 10 am to 3 pm window during the summer months. The eco-tourism center operates from 8 am to 5 pm and remains closed on Mondays. Bathroom facilities are located only at the entrance. Additionally, a Vanashree outlet at the beginning offers honey and other forest products.

A beginning trek of 2 km to reach the tower from the bottom, but it is worth the view from its top. We can have a 360 degree view from the top.The trek has benches places at regular intervals to have a seat and see the view. Plastic water bottles are allowed only on payment which will be returned back once brought back to the base. Place is maintained very clean.

No words to describe it! While travelling through the national highway, I noticed fog over Kodikuthimala. I decided to go there and it turned out to be the perfect weather and perfect timing for me. I entered alone early in the morning. At first, I was afraid to climb to the top but the fog and wind pulled me upward. It was drizzling & the place was wrapped in thick, magical fog and mist. I enjoyed every moment until 12 pm after a spell of rainfall. I still wish I could be there in that lovely weather again the fog rising from below and blowing over me was simply unforgettable.

Usually less crowded, except Tuesdays and Fridays. ("Mangallya pooja" - for getting Marriage👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️, held on every Tuesday and Friday) we must book in advance for this pooja🌼. Prasadam 🍛🍲is being served at nearby oottupura around 11 pm.

A very holy temple in Angadipuram. Though it is Shiva temple Bhagavathi is powerful. Mangalya pooja is famous and has to be pre-booked. Three years consecutivly it has to be done even if the marriage happens before that. There is a legend that the Sage Thirumaanthaan got a Shivling from God Shiva which was the one worshiped by Goddess Parvathi and fight ensured. For poojas one can book in counter or online. For certain poojas it has to be booked in advance. Mangalya pooja For Mangalya pooja booking has to be done in advance. On the appointed day preferably between 6 and 7 am get your receipt sealed and token number given, so that you are ahead in the que. The containers and bag is available in the prasad shop for Rs.65/- At 9.30 the Puja starts and only one person is allowed. After that prasad is given, collect it showing the token.

Lord Shiva is also here..a very old temple owned and controlled by the Malabar Devaswom Board.... maintained very neatly and cleanly...a very powerful goddess..we get very much calm and peace after darshan...a very nice temple to visit with family and friends

Thirunavaya Sree Navamukunda Temple is an ancient Hindu temple at Thirunavaya, Malappuram district in the state of Kerala, India. The Temple dedicated to Lord Navamukundan ( Maha Vishnu ) and it situated on the northern bank of the Bharathappuzha ( river ). The nearest railway station is 'Thirunavaya railway station' which is only 1 kilometre from the temple and another nearest main railway station is 'Tirur railway station' which is 10 kilometres from the temple, divotees can also reach by the road. Public transport buses are available from the main road. People are performing Pitru tarpanam ( bali tarpanam ) on the temple side bank of the Bharathappuzha. You can also see 'cheru thirunavaya ' - Brahma - Siva Temples across the river. The temple also provides 'Anna danam ' for the devotees..

The architecture reflects the traditional Kerala temple style, beautifully preserved and filled with divine energy. The view of the river during sunrise and sunset is absolutely breathtaking — it feels like time stands still. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Navamukunda Perumal), and devotees believe that offering prayers here helps attain great spiritual blessings. The main deity has only 3/4 of the body is visible until knee. River is available closer to the temple where people give tharpanam(balikarma) as this river is considered very sacred. There is another temple of Shiva and Brahma also located on the same river side. You can get inside the river room stay and clear washroom is available here. Police station in closer to the temple we went in the evening and the temple opened sharp at 5 pm.

Bharathapuzha - the second longest, west flowing river in Kerala - is all its beauty and looking grand during the rainy season every year. Twelve rivers joining it at various points contributing the inflow to make the broadest area around Tirunnavaya & Chamravattom which is an aweful view. During the dry season, one can see some streams flowing along, but the mansoon brings the transformation into a gorgeous flowing river, which I had been longing to have the view which materialised this monsoon.

Less area, but full of flowers and plants. well maintained and shaped plants. The mud house and ancient buildings are highlighted. We can spend some time there. One cafeteria also there will inside the garden.

Its a beautiful hilltop park for the entire family. Kids have many attractions like merry go round, toy trains, see-saw, slides, bouncing castles, 6D movie theatre, mirror maze, bumper cars etc. There's horror house, adventure activities like zip-line for adults and aquarium and plant nursery for the laid back people. There are widespread gardens where you can simply walk, or just sit and relax. There's a water fountain with laser show which is open on Saturdays and Sundays evening .

Use steps to reach there, the sides of that way are filled with different kinds of trees. You can feel the freshness of nature. If it's a nice breezy atmosphere you can stay at the top for hours. Enjoying the view of Malappuram city from the top.

Mini Ooty near Malappuram truly lives up to its name when it comes to scenic beauty. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking — rolling hills, green landscapes, and peaceful valleys stretch out in every direction. Early mornings and evenings are the best time to visit, with soft sunlight making the place feel magical. The drive up is beautiful too, but be prepared — the last stretch of the road is steep, narrow, and currently in poor condition. It’s manageable, but not ideal for all vehicles. Road repairs are badly needed. Once you reach the top, the atmosphere is cool and relaxing. It’s a great spot to chill with friends, family, or even alone. There’s plenty of open space to sit, take photos, and enjoy the breeze. The place is generally clean and well-kept. However, basic facilities like restrooms are limited, Now for the downside: the extra attractions nearby — like the glass bridge, pet zoo, and aquarium — charge separate fees, and honestly, they don’t live up to the hype. The glass bridge, in particular, feels overpriced at ₹200 per person and doesn’t offer much in terms of experience. Went on a Sunday by evening 4:30, it's actually private site seeing property which has amusement rides and glass bridges which gives us a panoramic view from the top. Good but, the atmosphere and the route isn't good at all. Didn't felt any climate change up there during that period and time even though it was a little cloudy. We went to " Hills land" which is one of the firm who provides glass bridge and others which is smaller comparing to the other after this. "Misty land" is the other one which will be the second one if the preferred road is the one I chose.. so, compare both and decide which one you need to go. Here in Hills land the entry fee is 30/- and the charge for the Glass Bridge is 100/- (per person) and the entry fee will be waived off in the glass bridge ticket if buying.

The place is popular for its scenic view. Better to visit during early mornings, which is helpful to view the beautiful morning sight and to avoid the crowd. As this is at top of the hill, the way is very poor in some areas, also there will be heavy vehicles from quarry, be careful of the way. It is not a single specific place, many unpopular locations are there, try to cover all if you are going there. The 3* rating is given because of the poor condition of roads, it is like a muddy trail during rain. can't even walk properly

I recently visited Mini ooty and it was fantastic..the view from mini ooty is beautiful.. the mountains gives good vibes especially at early morning.. the lush greenery and trees gives wonderful experience.. if you are a natures lover this will be the best place for you.. the only disadvantage i found was the road, the condition of the road was really pathetic..

The glass bridge is the main highlight. They are promoting it as India's largest glass bridge. Ticket charge for one person is 200rs. We can spend 24 hrs there with that ticket. I think the charge is a bit high. One man will take fantastic videos and photos of us on the bridge with his Samsung S25 ultra for 100rs. It is really worth. There is a small glass bridge also.

I recently visited Adyanpara Waterfall, and honestly, it was a bit disappointing compared to how it used to be. The natural charm and flow of the old waterfall seem to be lost due to some recent changes. It feels like the essence of the original spot has been altered, and now, there's not much left to see or enjoy near the falls. However, on the brighter side, the children's park and play area on the other side are well maintained and offer a good time for families with kids. If you're visiting mainly for relaxation or fun with children, that part is definitely worth it. But if you're coming just for the waterfall experience, it might not live up to the memories or expectations.

Its a nice place for spending weekends. It's fun to bath, swim and have fun in the falls because there will be comparatively less crowd than other waterfalls. Its overall a nice place to be if you love nature.

One multiplex theatre and supermarket is also allocated inside the mall. Parking facilties also available but during weekends somehow parking problems are there. It is exactly opposite to Kozhikode new bus stand.

Some shops tend to dispose of waste water and garbage carelessly, which affects the overall experience. Additionally, toilet facilities are quite limited, especially considering the large number of visitors the beach attracts. Overall, Kozhikode Beach is a great destination with amazing food options, but better waste management and improved sanitation facilities would make it even more enjoyable.

Our visit was on a rainy and windy afternoon so we could not spend much time. However we have been to the beach at different times and spend time. We enjoy the gigantic waves and the cool breeze. It is a beautiful beach and keep it clean as some areas were not. Sunsets and sunrise are amazing 🤩

I visited Kozhikode Beach early in the morning around 6 a.m. The place was full of life...many people were out for exercise, walking, sitting, and relaxing. Near the park area, some were practicing martial arts, others were playing football, and quite a few were just enjoying watching the activities. The atmosphere is vibrant and it’s a good spot to spend time. However, the beach is not at all hygienic. It is quite polluted, lacks proper walking paths, and is poorly maintained. With better cleanliness and care, Kozhikode Beach could truly become an excellent attraction for locals and visitors alike.

Beautiful place to visit. Waterfall is active throughout the year. However, the flow reduces during March-May. If you are going with elderly people ensure that they can go and return around 2 k.m. Don't carry plastic bottles and food items. You can park your vehicles at the top. They will allow only 500 persons per day. So you can consider to stay nearby areas to cover many other locations around the waterfall. Only upi/ digital transactions are allowed for buying tickets.

I visited this water falls which is like 1km trek to the fall. It is under government and they charge 150 per person. Please mind taking student tickets which is only 50 rs. This trek is somewhat difficult. You should take about 2 hours. It not that worth visiting but if you feel to trek you must visit. Paid parking and local shops available also you have options of some activities near by.

The waterfall is stunning, perfect for nature lovers. Clean, well-maintained, and refreshing experience. Enjoyed the falls. But the tickets are pricey.

We recommend buying tickets online or arriving early. The ticket price is ₹150 per person, and entry is not permitted without a ticket. The waterfalls are open all 365 days, but during the rainy season, only viewing is allowed—entering the waterfalls is not permitted.

Soochipara Waterfalls is soo good with wonderful water flow from the top of hill. Negative part is trekking, to reach this waterfalls we have to walk nearly 1 Kilometre additionally large large steps 🪜 to be used. After reaching Waterfalls it is worthy.

We visited this waterfall based on the suggestion and google review, but this place is a big NO!!! The start entry point is like the tip of the mountain and the waterfall is like at the base of mountain that much walking is to be done, there is lots of walking with slope and climb through the stones path and followed by big steps at the end which is difficult to go on, it cost Rs.150/- pp which is too much for the waterfall, if you are not in mood of walk and trek, this place is to be avoided! The gate closes around 5pm, all the guards are vanished at 5pm, there is no one around if you need any help if you go for the waterfall post 4pm, it took half hour for us to go to the waterfall and return half hour, 1 hour in total which is ascend and descend, as we spent only 5mins near the waterfall, as it was raining muddy water was falling and it was brown color. Do think twice before going for this waterfall, if you are up for a trek with proper shoes and mindset then its good!!

The walk through the forest trail was short and peaceful, and the sound of the water got louder with every step — that build-up was magical. It is a small waterfall but overall a good experience if you are planning to visit Waynad. The overall infrastructure to reach the waterfall is good with steps carved and takes 10 min from the entry point. Advisable to visit as it offers good ambience, cheerful wind and easy to reach compared to other waterfalls.

What made it unforgettable was that my little Rowan had his first waterfall visit and first swimming experience here before turning 1 - truly a moment we’ll cherish forever. The drive there was actually extremely comforting, and is an absolute 10/10. But as you get closer to the waterfalls, the slope drastically increases. I've seen some 125cc scooters struggling to get at the top. I wouldn't exactly call it dangerous but when it started to rain the staff there told us to get out of the waterfalls because of the sudden surge of water. All in all a 9/10

This was my first trek in my life i was little nervous but i went with my fellow Hosteller they helped me to trek It was 2kms distance what they said but because of curves of paths it might be 5kms and it took us 1 hour but worth trekking we went in early morning around 5pm gathered and ate Maggie as a breakfast and started the trekking Worth trekking and it was so cool breeze and full of greenary and i drank the mountain water💧which was flowing by side and we went to heart shaped lake again i tasted those water it was cool and very clean most memorable day in my life It was a Misty day, we had a very good experience at this peak,nature is truly amazing.Now they have revised the price,now the price for trekking is 4000 bucks for 5 people. And 800 bucks for an extra person. If you are 1 or 5 you need to pay 4000 bucks. The trek itself is magnificent as we go through lush tea estates and a thick canopy,after passing this we enter a thick shola vegetation.The peak itself is closed to The public as we only get to go to the heart shape lake.special permission is required to go the peak. The forest department has kept the lake and the surroundings clean as there is no sign of plastic. Overall we had a very beautiful and amazing experience.

5 kM up and 5 kM down mountain trekking needs good strength but leaves a permanent great experience in your memory. We can see Elephant foot traces all along the trekking path and lemon grass all over the mountain. Once you reach top of the Chembra peak, you can enjoy great view of other adjacent mountain covered with moving clouds and heart lake.

Best trekking spot in wayanad and suitable for beginners. The trek is around 3Km and visitors are allowed to until heart shaped lake not to chembra peak which is highes point in wayanad due to safety concerns. Only 288 people are allowed per day. Please plan to reach this spot early in morning to get tickets especially on weekends. We reached this spot by 4.30am and got ticket. For a group of 5 people 4000 is the ticket price. Steel water bottles will be provided once you make payment for the ticket. And few shops are down there to have ur small breakfast. The chembra is known for the very famous heart shaped lake on top and breathtaking 360 view and challenging treks.

Nature at it's best, trekking for around 2 hrs for this beauty, wonderdul landscapes and stunning greenery. The place should be in every trekkers bucklist.

Stopped by Lakkidi View Point and the view honestly took my breath away. The misty hills, winding roads, and cool breeze make it one of the most scenic spots in Wayanad. You can just stand there and watch the clouds drift over the valley it’s pure calm. It’s easy to reach and best visited early morning or around sunset when the view looks magical. A must-visit stop if you’re exploring Wayanad! 🌄✨

It was an amazing experience. Could clealy see the hair pin curve roads, the beautiful mountains, clouds and ofcourse the fresh air. You have to be there by 6 - 6:30am latest to get the most of it and spend an hour around, click pics etc. After that the mountains will be covered by snow (Koda in local language). If you aee staying in a nearby hotel, get up early, go to this place, come back and then have your breakfast n stuff. You won't be able to see anything after 8 - 8:30 am. No entrance fee and have few parkings on one side of the road. Since we reached there early, there were only a few tourists thus got parking very easily.

Also you will be fined heavily we there are cops and ngo's patrolling to catch people in the act. A must visit place if you are in wayanad. You can see serpentine ghat roads hidden in lush green hills. Sometimes you can feel and see you are above the cloud. Vehicles 🚜 ply in this ghat roads looks like toys . Parking is a challenge. Be aware of monkeys. This viewpoint is located along a national highway, surrounded by greenery and offering a scenic experience that automobile riders are sure to enjoy! The view becomes absolutely stunning during sunset, making it a must-visit spot. This viewpoint is located right on the last hairpin bend of NH766 and is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible spots in Wayanad. It offers stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats and breathtaking sunsets. There isn’t any dedicated parking space near the viewpoint. Visitors can park their vehicles near the entrance arch and walk down to the spot. Unfortunately, some people park on the hairpin curve, causing traffic issues on the busy road. The views from here are truly mesmerizing. You can see the lush green valleys below and the majestic Western Ghats stretching into the horizon. If you walk a bit further below to the next curve, you’ll be rewarded with a magical sunset experience. The mist-covered silhouette of the Western Ghats during the evening adds to the charm, making it a must-visit spot! Just before you reach the arch that welcomes you to Wayanad, you have this Lakkidi view point. Most people stop here to enjoy the view. You can see the top view of twists and turns of the ghat road. It’s best to see vehicles driving up at night as small dots of light. There is only a small space by the road side to park the vehicles. So make sure you don’t trouble other vehicles while parking here. Also beware of monkeys who could possibly steal your snacks.
