Cheonan Stadium (City Hall) has a beautiful park 🏞 It's full of great scenery, benches, walking paths, picnic areas, etc. It also has a couple fields for kids to run around, a soccer area, a skating rink area, a basketball area, a place for kids to practice riding their bicycles & tricycles. It's a really nice place.

Saw an U20 World Cup game here. Not too far from the KTX station. The athletics track around the outside of the football pitch negates the atmosphere somewhat. Feels like you are a long way from the action.

Hwadamsup Arboretum is a natural oasis that offers stunning views of both spring flowers and autumn foliage. Surrounded by forest, the arboretum features peaceful paths that are perfect for a leisurely stroll or wheelchair access all the way up to the nearby mountain. Despite being popular with many visitors, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy the various sights at a relaxed pace.
Visited on 5 Nov 2024. Rather big place and crowded with locals. It is always nice to see families and friends spending time together, enjoying something beautiful. The monorail tickets were mostly reserved online, which requires a local number. So they were sold out. It took about 2 over hours to cover it on foot, using the fast walking short cuts on the way down. Due to that, missed out on one of the stamps. It would have been great to go there, stroll slowly, without a tour package. Autumn colours are just appearing so it was nice.

Love this place it was on 18-6-2025 nice weather the garden was extremely challenging to go up the hill We also use monorail when we go up it the view is worth seeing 💓

Magical place!!! Falling in love with the autumn because of this place. Must visit if you come to S.Korea during fall season.
Sucia N — Google review
The place is super gorgeous 😍 its located a bit far from the city, if you have a car- its great, if you are just tourist, there are some options with buses, also can walk. The nature amazing. If you want to use the car about the garden, have to book online. However for foreigner, I wasnot able to book online, on spot the car schedule was sold out. Small lifehack- mostly people book route from A to B, on B station everyone is gone and walking down. So you will be able to use machine to buy ticket at station B and ride a bit. Love this place, however pretty many people as I was visiting during Chusok
Anastasiia — Google review
Prepare for at least 2hours hike and walk. If take the tram, about 20minutes. Ticket can be purchased at the entrance. Not so crowded during early morning and recommended to go early. It can be shinny around 11am, although there are lots of shades. Enjoy the greenery and flowery view. Not so suitable for kids and old folks.
SY N — Google review
It is the best place to relax and enjoy autumn in Korea. It is a place where you can feel healing beyond comfort in the beauty of nature managed by human power and effort. If the person you're with is too young or too old, there's no problem enjoying this place even through a monorail or wheelchair. The taste and taste of the restaurant under the Hwadam Forest are also very good. If you use your own car, it is convenient to have a friendly parking information and a shuttle bus to Hwadam Forest. One disadvantage is that it's too hard to make a reservation
Horac 3 — Google review
A very pretty garden to absorb the fall vibes. Please take the monorail. You will not regret as the views from the top is much nicer from the views in between the trees. Check the forecast of the peak foliage to choose the best times. Entrance and monorail tickets should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Weekdays are less crowded. I also want to add a bit of information about the process to get here. It’s quite difficult to get here by public transport. We rented a car from Seoul and drove about 1 hour 30 minutes to get here. Once you park the car, you have to walk a bit to a split point where you decide whether to walk for about 15 minutes up to the main entrance or take a gondola lift for 3 minutes (we waited 10 minutes for our turn).
Hong W — Google review
I was finally able to go see the fall leaves this time. I went with a tour because it is very difficult to get there by public transport from Seoul. You need to take a taxi.

Semiwon Garden

Scenic Walking Areas
Semiwon Garden is a specialized botanical garden that features lotus flowers, offering visitors the chance to stroll along various walking paths and explore its museum. During the summer season, this garden offers a spectacular view of blooming Lotus flowers that create beautiful scenery. In addition to viewing these stunning blooms, visitors can also enjoy playing traditional Korean games on-site.
We visited this garden in September when the weather was still hot and humid. The garden is beautiful with lots of planned sections with interesting traditional architecture. It was relaxing to stroll around checking out different plants and a few resting areas with shade and photo opportunities. My favorite area was the fountain made with the traditional Korean Jangdokdae (where they typically store condiments / food in the cold weather such as Kimchi, fermented red pepper paste and fermented bean paste for months). This garden/museum, features lotus flowers, but because of the time we were there, we didn’t get to see them. But it was still worth visiting and very beautiful.

Beautiful garden with spectacular lotus flowers. The Queen of England herself once visited here, so obviously the gardens are gorgeous. There are food and cafes available here. It is good both for kids and elderly folks.

Beautiful large park full of lotus flowers. Great experience on a hot summer weekend. There's a lot of places in the shadow and you can put your feet into water. Tickets are cheap and you can spend here a few hour in the nature
Simon S — Google review
A park with a focus on lotus. Have a few picturesque spots for photos but quite barren otherwise. Not worth the 1.5h journey from Seoul.
Janus K — Google review
I went for Lotus Pond with Flowers but end June, no lotus, or barely
Gia T — Google review
Semiwon Garden was lovely. We went at the end of September, this is not the best season. Lotus blossoms are out at the end of July and August. There were lots of massive leaves and seed pods. The views were still incredible and worth the entrance fee (5,000₩). Besides the Lotus ponds, there are other aquatic plants to view such as lily pads and reeds. A hanok style building is in the park. As you walk around the peninsula, you will find a floating bridge that will take you to the islet beside the garden. Make sure you keep your ticket to get back across. On the island, you can view the two rivers merging as one. In addition, they have a greenhouse that houses several types of water lillies. Outside there is a Lotus Museum, which we didn't go to because of time. The building was beautifully designed. There's also a place that sells Lotus bread/cookies. There are 3 different types. I didn't realize how popular they were and waited to buy after we got out. They were sold out when we went in. Thankfully they had 9 left of their original so I grabbed those up and bought some Lotus tea and postcards.
Dearsindy — Google review
Beautiful scenery, although it would have been better if we visited a few weeks earlier when the lotus flowers were still in bloom.

Dumulmeori is a picturesque area located at the meeting point of two rivers, offering a peaceful and beautiful park for outdoor leisure and nature photography. It is known as a filming location and features stunning lotus ponds, especially during the fall when the surrounding mountains are adorned with colorful foliage. The park has restaurants, snack carts, and a famous hotdog on a stick shop.
Beautiful, peaceful park located where two rivers meet which is why it's called dumul(2 waters). The park is free but you do need to pay parking(less than $3), has restauarants and snack carts, and is home to a famous hotdog on a stick shop(there's usually a line). It also has a huge beautiful lotus pond. We went in the fall and was treated to beauty fall foliage views of the surrounding mountains. Definately recommend this place when you are in Seoul.

A wonderful place to get some fresh air near Seoul. In season, you will have a difficulty parking unless you come earlier. You will see river views around here. And the lotus corn dog is a well known snack in this place. They have hot spicy or non spicy. They use the different sausages according to your option. Lots of bugs are there as it is by the River...

Cycling to or past this place allowed me to discover a foggy, surreal side of this place once I arrived there at 4 AM. Beautiful place to go out and enjoy fresh air outside of Seoul.

When been here I feel that im in my hometown philippines. Watching the river far away and watching the sun sets catch my attention. I want to go here in summer, its nice to bring placemats and setting a picnic bellow the tree While watching the river and sunset and eat dumulmeori lotus hotdogs.

Water & Amusement Parks
Theme park
Everland is a renowned amusement park in South Korea, offering a wide array of attractions across its themed zones such as Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land, Zootopia, and European Adventure. The park hosts various themed festivals throughout the year and is famous for its T-Express wooden roller coaster. Additionally, it features the Korean Folk Village and provides access to natural parks and hiking trails in Yongin.
Everland is one of the best amusement parks you can visit! I used to work at Samsung, so I was lucky to get a company discount on the tickets. We drove there around 1 PM and arrived at about 2 PM. We spent around 8 hours enjoying all the rides, shows, and attractions. Compared to similar places in Vietnam, Everland is definitely better in terms of scale and quality. The safari is especially impressive — the animals are huge and healthy, which makes the experience even more exciting! If you have kids, I highly recommend visiting this place. It’s fun for the whole family!
Anh L — Google review
Fun and Unique K-Pop Experience at Everland! We visited Everland and stopped by the K-Pop Demon Hunter pop-up experience, and it ended up being a major highlight of our day! The whole setup is super immersive, with lots of themed activity and photo stations that kept both kids and adults engaged. The line took about 40 minutes, but it was worth the wait. Once inside, there was so much to do, from dress-up stations to face painting, and everything was well-organized and visually impressive. The staff were friendly and helped guide everyone through the different areas. Our kids had the absolute best time, they were fully into the K-pop vibe and loved posing for pictures. The whole space is very Instagram-worthy too, so don’t forget your camera. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re at Everland while the pop-up is running, great mix of fun, creativity, and K-pop flair!

A must place to visit for theme park lovers. Date of visit: Weekday, Late October. - The theme park is divided into multiple sections which covers the whole family (children to adults). - The park was not that crowded (waiting time for most rides was reasonable). - The weather was perfect (cool but not that cold). - The park size is just right (not too big to be overwhelming but not too small either). You can easily see most of the place in one day. Overall, this is one of the best theme parks that I have visited. A solid recommendation from me.
Mansour A — Google review
I love this place, it has a lot of things. Ranging from thrill rides to normal rides and even a zoo with variety of animals including Jiabao and LeBao. The weather was perfect when we went, upon arrival in the morning there were busses of kids rushing and running towards the exciting rides. I’m not sure if that is normal on a weekday of November or it just happen to be. We had QR code and we didn’t had to wait to enter, it was immediate. Highly suggest to wear your best sport shoes, a lot of waiting (20-60mins per ride) and walking was required. Took us around 20k steps for the entire day and was definitely fun but drained.
Hazel S — Google review
Finally had the time to write a review for my January trip to Seoul! Visiting Everland has always been on my wishlist because of my favorite panda family – Ai Bao, Le Bao, Fu Bao, Rui Bao, and Hui Bao 🐼. I’ve been following their videos on YouTube for so long, and it was such a dream come true to finally see them in person. I had to queue twice to catch a glimpse, but it was worth every moment. Since it was the cold January season, the park wasn’t too crowded, which made the waiting time much shorter and more enjoyable. The experience was truly heartwarming. On top of that, I couldn’t resist bringing home lots of panda themed souvenirs. Every piece a reminder of this memorable visit. Truly a happy and unforgettable experience at Everland!
Acsahh C — Google review
Everland was a fantastic experience all-around. My favorite part was the zoo, which included a great Safari Ride experience. The other rides were too long of a wait during my short availability in that area. Going during the week was best to avoid huge crowds, but there was also a ton of field trips during our visit which caused a bit of congestion. Arrival early at opening to experience most of it quicker than others, or multiple times if you like.
Kristopher H — Google review
The best theme park. Better than sunway, & vietnam. But universal studio singapore more thrilling. Still high quality rides, safari fun & feel safe.
Spot — Google review
I came to the park after 5 pm, so most of the cute animals clocked out by the time I entered. So, if yoi want to see cute animals, come early. However, ticket is cheaper in the evening, but expect the crowd.

Caribbean Bay is a water park located outside of Seoul, South Korea. It offers both indoor and outdoor attractions including a wave pool, lazy river, kids' play area and thrilling water slides. The giant wave pool is particularly impressive but some rides may be too scary for younger children. During peak times it can get crowded so arriving early in the morning is recommended. While summer is the best time to visit, there are also plenty of indoor activities available during winter season.
So much fun!! We went on a Sunday during the peak summer heat, so it was super busy but still enjoyable. There were lines for all the rides, with the longest being for the famous Mega Storm (around 2 hours)! This was the perfect way to cool off during a hot summer’s day!
Jonathan L — Google review
I liked this place very much except few things, half of the facilities/ride/pool was close that day when we go there.. Me & my friends could enjoy only 3/4 ride all day. If they keep open everything ..... Its one of the best in korea for sure.
Jacksy C — Google review
I went to Caribbean Bay in advance, which will be hot in summer. I got a discount on the application and used it for 25,000 won per person. It was also very spacious, so it was good to play in the water. The wave grass was fun, and I enjoyed riding various rides. It was good because the line for the ride was not long because it was a success of the timing game. My feet hurt too much to just walk around, so make sure to bring your aqua shoes in advance, and if you're going to take a lot of cell phone shots, make sure to bring a cell phone waterproof pack. They sell it, but it's too expensive because it's 20,000 won each.

Very good place for water entertainment, but really crowded. Try to visit in week days, hot holiday or weekends.

Not bad ~~ if you love water parks it’s nice! There’s lots of fun rides and different kinds of activities to do! They have some performances on Sunday! The lines are a little long but it’s very organized! I do have to say there’s not a lot of places to sit down so it could be uncomfortable if you don’t buy a chair ~~ anyway have fun when you go there ^^

Wow, what a view! I'd watched the drama Love Scout and just had to visit! Took a while to get there by public transport from Seoul but well worth it. The view, the temple and Buddha were amazing to see, thoroughly enjoyed looking around. Big thanks to the man who offered us a lift back down, so kind.
Cheryl H — Google review
The temple itself was very beautiful. I felt very enlightened during the beginning of the trip. Amazing architecture and green space all around that I think all Buddhist would enjoy. However, my trip was ruined due to a rude and impolite staff at the tea house. She rudely told us to hurry up and get out ruining our zen like tea tradition. Up until this point we had an amazing experience that was ruined by this female staff at the tea house. I could feel her negative energy piercing through me and I just felt so uncomfortable throughout drinking my tea. What went from a great enlightenment to a hopefully forgettable experience because of this rude staff. I would recommend the temple still but to avoid this tea house or else you’re enlightenment will be cut short.

A Buddhist temple on the Mountain named Woongil-san Mt., Namyangju-goon, Gyunggi-do, Seoul. There is uphill road to reach up to the main gate of temple and it is easily accessable to the temple whereas the steepness of the inclined road is quite high. On this temple, Han river is seen with wide view.

Korean Folk Village is a living museum that offers a glimpse into traditional Korean homes and customs, along with dining options and a theme park. It features various attractions, including Everland, one of South Korea's largest theme parks. The village replicates life during the Joseon Dynasty period and provides opportunities to learn about and experience Korea's traditional culture. Visitors can enjoy traditional performances, comedic courtyard plays, LED shows, and encounters with Joseon-era ghosts.
Its like walking into the past. This was such a treat. The exhibits, the food, the fun. I was absolutely amazed, and overwhelmed by it all. It really took me back in time. I.love it. I will definitely come back. Great for kids of all ages. Plenty of food and restrooms and water. So many options to engage with the past.

Tickets were 17000krw (promotion) in November. Fall colours here are very beautiful, and there are performances throughout the day. Very family friendly and there were many school groups visiting. We packed lunch before coming over but there was no real need as the market has many food options. Surprised to see toilets everywhere and they blend in to the surrounding buildings. Overall, it was a great experience, great to escape the Seoul crowds (and take a chance to visit Suwon and surrounding attractions)
Bo L — Google review
The Korean Folk Village is a must-visit cultural attraction that offers an immersive journey into Korea’s past, particularly the Joseon dynasty era. Located in a beautiful natural setting surrounded by trees and gentle hills, the village is spacious, atmospheric, and incredibly well maintained—making you feel as though you’ve truly stepped back in time. We were amazed by the variety and authenticity of the traditional homes, noble palaces, and village structures, each meticulously preserved or reconstructed. From the homes of aristocrats to the humble dwellings of commoners and craftsmen, every area paints a vivid picture of how people from different walks of life used to live, work, and interact. You can explore old markets, kitchens, blacksmith shops, pottery workshops, and more. One of the highlights was watching live performances featuring people dressed in traditional hanbok, performing folk dances, music, and acrobatic displays. These cultural performances brought the entire place to life and added an authentic festive vibe. You can also rent traditional costumes and walk around the village for your own immersive experience. We highly recommend visiting on a weekday, when the village is less crowded and easier to explore at a leisurely pace. An unforgettable cultural experience for both locals and tourists alike.
Mimo E — Google review
I loved the experience of visiting this place! I was able to learn about history and culture through the beautifully recreated settings. The traditional dance and music performances were amazing, and I truly felt like I had traveled back to the Joseon Dynasty era.
Marie R — Google review
Very impressive, interesting and huge. Forget the show, it's not worth it (my opinion). If xou are there during Halloween do the haubted houses, but you need to buy tickets very earlsäy as it will sell out.
André H — Google review
We were lucky to see a traditional Korean wedding, it was beautiful dancing. The village is fun for adults and kids, you can put yourself in the time of the Joseon dynasty and just walk around to see how people lived. There are a lot of activities for kids as well, they will have fun in the water park in the Summer. People can make pottery in the workshop. There is a decent amount of food to choose from as well, which is pretty good (not gourmet but tasted ok). There are some exhibits to help you understand what life was like during the Joseon dynasty. There is a rental place so you can dress in Hanbok if you want to embrace the history (many people do). We visited on a weekday so it wasn't super busy, this is what I'd recommend.

Discounted admission of 19,000 Won on Monday. Very worth it. We enjoyed the various performances, village and amusement rides. It is easy to take an express bus to go on your own. We spent 5 hours there including eating delicious Sellongtang (beef) and Ginseng chicken soup.

This is a theme park of Korea during the Joseon dynasty. Mostly it’s old style houses from different regions and social classes, very interesting if you are into that sort of thing. There are some music or dance shows throughout the day, I would highly recommend to see them. There is also a mini world museum with photos and artifacts from all over the world. There is an also a carnival part with attractions for kids, a museum of Korea, a few restaurants, shops and some activities to do like horse riding or archery. A lot of things are closed during the weekdays tho, like the horror experience house. I would say it’s a nice experience if you have some extra days in Seoul and you really want to learn more about the history of the country. My only suggestion would be to add more activities for adults, there are some things to do but it felt like half were designed for kids. For a better reference I would suggest to look at Edo World close to Tokyo in Japan.

Starfield Hanam

Shopping mall
Shopping
Sprawling mall with 250+ shops & services, hip restaurants, a sports complex & a water park/spa.
Good department store. Lots of dogs there, pets friendly are very nice.
Loretta L — Google review
It is a big shopping mall in Hanam. State-of-the-art interior and many attractive goods will make you open your wallet without hesitation. Many people bring their pets and enjoy shopping. Easy to park is one of the merits of this mall. Yes, it is a good place for families. Without further ado, visit and enjoy.
Junhyuk S — Google review
Shopping heaven! We spent almost a full day here and STILL only did probably 2/3 of the shops. Amazingly dog friendly!! Lots of dogs and even special dog "rest" areas where they can relieve themselves. Sparkling clean, bright and large, you dont feel closed in at all. Many great shops, including a huge Decathlon sports shop. A good food hall as well. A little outside of Seoul but worth the bus trip for the day
Natascha G — Google review
Great place to shop with your pet. You have only one place to eat with your pet though, If you're just for shopping And you don't want to leave your pet home, perfect place to be. I have to say this place looks so much like "Chadstone shopping centre" in Australia
이아름 — Google review
Some people think this is shopping heaven, but my husband thinks it’s hell (he hates shopping) Positive 😃😊 There’s 4-6 floors in this mall, free parking, movie theater, and dog friendly. + Basement(emart traders, no brand, Outback, furniture stores) +1st floor - popular worldwide brands like H&M, Top10, Lush, Body Shop +2nd floor - designer brands +3rd floor - kids zone, bookstore, snacks, kids cafe, sport store, play ground, clothing, toys; child’s dream but parents wallets nightmare +4th floor- CGV movie theater Negative 😞😩 - some people don’t clean up after their dogs…. (Rare, but still annoying) - lots of kids - the escalators and elevators are super annoying; it’s not directly up. It’s up, walk around to the next one, up (escalator). Some of the 🛗 don’t go to each floor…

At this moment, you can enjoy the whole mood of Christmas! Until 11th December, 100 anniversary sale is available. Amazing place to shop near Seoul. However, if you are a tourist, keep in your mind that it is not comfortable to get here by public transportation.

Dogs and cats are acceptted here. It has Emart and Sinsegea Department store also. This is really a clean and attractive place for dating.
Jihoon P — Google review
Very big mall. Tons of stores. Clean and well maintained. There is plenty of free parking available but it’s usually almost full due to the sheer volume of people that come here. It’s pet friendly many people bring their dogs. There’s also a EMART TRADERS seems like a Korean version of Costco with no membership required. There’s also a water park, a movie theater. It’s really got it all. I would recommend coming here if you need to go shopping. One of my favorite malls in Seoul !

Spas & Wellness
AQUAFIELD Hanam is a modern spa house located in the Starfield Hanam shopping theme park in Korea. It offers waterpark facilities, including unique spa rooms like the cloud room and media room. Unlike traditional jjimjilbangs, AQUAFIELD has specific operating hours and both indoor and outdoor facilities. Visitors are advised to purchase tickets online for discounted prices. Upon arrival, guests receive two towels and a locker key before exploring various warm to hot sauna rooms.
Good place for relaxing, I tried body scrub and I LOVE IT !!!!!!! It’s costing 33000 won but totally worth it!!!! I can’t believe my body can scrub off that much black ball, it’s crazy 🤪 The facility is new and in good condition. One thing you need to know is they closed at 10pm, don’t go there too late otherwise you will be rushed ( like us). We were there around 6:30 i don’t have enough time to enjoy the sauna 😤😤
CHNC 0 — Google review
Great scenic outdoor pool and jacuzzis, indoor lazy river, water slide, and kiddie pool, saunas galore, jjimjilbang with multiple different temperature rooms, massage chairs, adult only quiet relaxation reclining chairs with TVs, several restaurants and snack places, scrub and massage services, and kids area with a ball pit room, air hockey, basketball game, and baby shark rides. The only negatives are that they didn't have enough seating at the jjimjilbang and the kids went crazy using the bracelet payment system racking up 141,000 won on the claw game machines to "win" 4 small prizes. Use Klook to get discount tickets.
Ben B — Google review
This is a must go and must experience bathhouse. Located inside the Starfield shopping mall. It is a bit hard to find. As the information maps are incorrect, but the entrance is on the second floor. You could spend the whole day in here to really relax and everything you need is provided, just show up.
Yen — Google review
As a foreigner, I went just for the sauna. It was really a great experience overall. I didn’t expect it to be so nice. The staffs will explain to you in korean so if you don’t speak korean, you can hand them your handphone for translation. You need to play first then they will give you the key for the lockers ; shoes and your belongings. They will also provide you with two towels and a set of clothes to wear inside. You can shower first before changing. If you’re not familiar with their bathhouse culture, don’t worry, no one cares since everyone is doing their own thing. They might look at you a little bit differently because you are foreigner but they don’t care😂 The sauna room has different temperature settings from colder to really hot room like almost 80 degrees celcius. Dont overdo yourself to prevent dehydration. There is a cafe inside. You can also buy the refreshing sikhye and the famous eggs. I hope you enjoy your experience here as much as i did!! Have funn^^

Hanam aquafield just recently renovated and it was so nice. They are extremely baby friendly and I love it.
Macy W — Google review
Beautiful facility and so spacious. So many places for you and your family to relax. Several saunas for you to try as well. Plenty of massage chairs and a location for foot bath. We used their spa here too and they gave excellent facials. They even gave us a pack of face sheets to take home which are top quality. They also have a spot where you can watch on your own individual TV with an amazing view. Great spot to relax and just be lazy. They have a cafe next door called “Cafe de Aqua” and it’s like eating in an aquarium. There are so many large scale aquariums with such a wide variety of fish. Their drinks are good too. Great spot for kids and babies to explore and discover new things.
Myla L — Google review
I have only used the Water Park facilities and being able to be outside in this winter in a hot pool with a view of Hanam's nature was very great. It made me feel like I was in a Japanese hot spring. The only but for me for this experience were the loud and hyperactive kids. You know, kids being kids. I love kids, but when I go to a place like this I want to be able to relax. It would be nice if the outdoor pools would have a no kids zone. If you go after 4pm the fee is cheaper, but the outdoor pool closes at 6pm. Go in the weekedays. Weekends are very crowded and you might have to wait a long time to enter.
Alan A — Google review
Great place for kids. It's pricey though, so make sure to find coupons or other discounts (unless you consider yourself rich). Very crowded on weekends. The indoor area has a lazy river (bring your own tube), water slides, sauna, and other areas. The employee at the slides was not being so nice to my son who has disabilities. He tried to turn him away, which I saw as a discrimination. The outdoor pool upstairs has an infinity pool with a great view of the Han river and the mountains. Instead of letting you use cash, they make you use their key for any transactions within the pool area. If you come here for the first time, get ready for some unconventional way of getting in and out of the place. Once you go up the escalator, you will have to take your shoes off, put them in the assigned shoe locker, take the key out, and bring that key to the locker room to open your locker. On the way out, you will have to go to the kiosk to check out using your key before you can retrieve your shoes.

Paldalmun Gate, the grand southern entrance of Hwaseong Fortress, is a remarkable testament to Suwon's rich history. Constructed in the late 18th century, this two-story wooden pavilion showcases a blend of Chinese and Western architectural influences. Although it stands apart from the fortress walls due to urban development in the 1970s, Paldalmun remains an iconic landmark surrounded by crescent-shaped walls.
I ran along the wall of the fort . It's really beautifull and properly maintained by govt

Hwahongmun Gate, also known as Buksumun, is a stunning floodgate that serves as a vital part of the 18th-century fortress in Suwon. Spanning over the Suwon River with its seven elegant arches, this gate not only allows the stream to flow freely but also adds to the picturesque landscape. As you stroll along its banks, you'll find locals enjoying leisurely moments—kicking off their shoes and engaging in friendly conversations.
Suwon Hwaseong is one of the few historical sites where the past blends so naturally with the present. Whether you choose to walk along the fortress walls or take advantage of the hop-on, hop-off tour cart, you’ll find the experience both enriching and accessible. If you get tired from exploring, no need to worry—there are plenty of restaurants and traditional tea houses/cafe nearby where you can rest and recharge. It’s a place where history lives quietly alongside daily life, making it well worth a visit.

Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, situated within a fortress in Suwon, is a meticulously restored palace dating back to 1789. The palace complex includes a visitor center, theater, and exhibition hall. It served as the temporary residence of the king and hosts various cultural experiences and activities. Visitors can enjoy the serene village scenery inside the city walls and witness a stunning night view. Nearby attractions include Suwon Chicken Street and Blood Soup Street for those looking to explore local cuisine.
I recently visited Hwaseong Haenggung on June 1, 2025, and was captivated by its blend of history, architecture, and serene surroundings. As soon as I entered, I was struck by the beautifully preserved fortress walls and regal palace buildings nestled within. Walking through the ornate throne hall and secret corridors, I could almost feel echoes of the past. The landscaped gardens and seasonal flowers added a peaceful charm. It’s a must-visit spot for history buffs and anyone seeking a tranquil cultural escape in Suwon!

This is the typical Korean Palace in terms of structure, layout, and decor. I don't find it particularly elaborate or lavishly decorated. Still, it is pretty to visit and wander around its courts. It is very similar to the ones we visited in Seoul.

Just buy tickets at the nearby counter. Noted it was just renovated in 2023. The place looks quite big (empty) tho… Recommend to walk up the hill at the back and look down for the view. You can have a rest there also! Quite chill.

Beautiful historical palace in the heart of Suwon! I really enjoyed walking around Hwaseong Haenggung. The palace is clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by lovely traditional houses and shops. You can rent a hanbok nearby and take beautiful photos inside the palace area — it feels like traveling back to the Joseon era! 👑 It’s easy to reach by public transport and the entrance fee is affordable. Perfect spot to visit with family or friends, especially on weekends. Don’t forget to try traditional snacks around the market area after your visit! 😋✨ #HwaseongHaenggung #SuwonTrip #KoreaTravel

A wonderful piece of history, beautifully restored after its gruesome past. There is a huge garden with plenty of spots to relax and take in the view. We visited on a Saturday, and were lucky to see a re-enactment of a royal guard ritual from King Jeongjo’s era.

Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, is a great place to spend time with family or a loved one. Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is situated near Suwon, South Korea. Constructed between 1794 and 1796 under the direction of King Jeongjo of the Joseon dynasty, it served as a fortification encompassing Suwon's historic city center. King Jeongjo's relocation of Crown Prince Sado's tomb from Seoul to Suwon in 1789 necessitated the construction of a new city to accommodate displaced residents. The king commissioned scholars and engineers to design a secure, convenient, and prosperous urban center. This undertaking included the construction of a robust fortification, Hwaseong Fortress, a masterpiece of Joseon Dynasty architecture. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1997, Hwaseong Fortress attracts numerous tourists annually. Hwaseong Fortress boasts numerous palaces, a perimeter wall, four main gates, a central waterway, and extensive additional features. Access is available at any time. The area features highly-rated cafes and restaurants offering premium food and beverages. It also serves as a filming location for numerous Korean dramas. Visitors can enjoy the cherry blossoms along the perimeter wall, and nearby activities include hot air balloon rides, archery, and traditional cultural experiences. For those exploring South Korea, Hwaseong Fortress is a must-see destination. Convenient access from Seoul is provided via the Seoul Metropolitan Subway or express subway from Seoul Station to Suwon Station, followed by a local bus to Hwaseong Fortress.

Mr. Toilet House, also known as the Haewoojae Museum, is a one-of-a-kind museum in Suwon dedicated to the global history of toilets and sanitation. The museum was built in honor of Sim Jae-duck, former mayor of Suwon and founder of the World Toilet Association. It features quirky exhibits on toilet science, squatting statues, and global bathroom signs.
Great content for both adults and children. There is the toilet-shaped building, but the cultural center across the street is actually with this museum as well - has an observatory on top. Cute souvenirs and donation box in the main museum building to be a 'toilet angel'. 😎

While certainly one of the most bizarre attractions in South Korea, even at age 29 this was an absolutely amazing place to stop and check out for an hour. Did I know really anything about the history of toilets before I came here? No. Did I learn a lot of fascinating stuff about the history in this country? Absolutely. Absolute hilarious statues outside the facility, and a great history inside the museum as well as cool park and exhibition across the street. This place is a bit off the beaten path, have to do a little bit of walking after a bus, so recommend driving there if you can. Really really cool exhibits though, and there is English inside. Also free admission!

Small museum, with display of toilets on it's garden. If you want to know everything about the toilet history in Korea this is the place to go. The inside of the museum is small, only 2 stories were open to the public, with the first floor talking about the evolución of the toilet and the second story being a place for children to learn about poop. I would not travel just to see this place, but if you are in Suwon, why not. Entrance is free.

This place is great for kids. They laugh about all the toilets and poo, but its educational at the same time. The children's play area across fron the toilet house was everyone's favorite. The sculpture park was the most eye-popping.

An informative museum about the history of toilets through space and time. Unfortunately the bulk of the information is written in Korean. Their is an interactive space upstaire to learn while playing. While outside you'll find funny statues. It's all free. Worth a visit.

A nice little park, several statues of pooping persons and toilets, a toilet shaped museum with free entrance. This is a nice place to take kids for a picnic and there are several outdoor tables with benches, protected from the sun.

It is such an interesting museum! Unfortunately we didn't get to see the whole thing, so the portion we did see was very small. I definitely think they could add more to it but then we didn't see the whole thing so I really can't say that. The museum seems massive but it really is about the size of a small house.

10 October 2024. Super nice place to take pretty photos with the various flowers and plants! Throughly enjoyed myself and had a simple gimbap lunch with ice cream inside the park from the vendors selling inside the park.

Pink Muhly in full bloom today Oct 3. 2024. The only reason I came to S. KOREA, and glad the weather is so fine and the Park didn't disappoint at all. Everything was perfect.

One of the MOST beautiful hidden gems in Seoul! The pink muhly grass and flower fields were stunning and I spent the whole morning here, soaking in the atmosphere and living in the moment! A MUST visit for photography lovers!

A large field of flowers and a nice place to relax. Not easy to go, but it is totally worth it. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this hidden gem offers a serene escape for those seeking tranquility. As you approach, the vibrant colors of the blossoms create a stunning tapestry that dances in the gentle breeze, inviting you to step closer. The sweet fragrance of the flowers fills the air, uplifting your spirits and calming your mind. Here, time seems to stand still, allowing you to forget your worries and simply immerse yourself in nature's beauty. You can find a cozy spot on the soft grass, where you can lie back and watch the clouds drift lazily across the sky. Nearby, the soothing sound of a babbling brook provides the perfect soundtrack for a peaceful afternoon. Whether you choose to read a book, meditate, or simply enjoy the scenery, every moment spent in this flower-filled paradise rejuvenates the soul. Though the journey may be challenging, the reward of tranquility and the breathtaking views make it an unforgettable experience that will linger in your memory long after you leave.

The park is stunning and beautiful. Amazed by the sea of flowers. Highly recommend to visit this in the month of October.

I recently visited this Korean garden and was impressed by its natural beauty. The landscape was thoughtfully designed and included traditional Korean elements such as a pond, pavilion, and various trees and plants. The garden was peaceful and provided a nice escape from the city. The only downside was that some areas were under construction, but I look forward to visiting again when it's fully completed. Overall, a lovely place to relax and appreciate nature.

Now it's 2022.. the place was free of entrance fee years ago.. but now your gonna have to pay 2000 won for adults and not sure but maybe 1000won for kids.. and for seniors I'm not sure too but maybe it's free and for people living in jangju area.. the place is so beautiful, these days some flowers are not yet totally bloom yet.. so your not so late to visit this beautiful place.. make sure to prepare some water and snacks because there are few stores around.. Enjoy..💜💜

Very large flowers field. Pink muhly, pampas grass, various kinds of globe amaranth, cochia, etc. Very large parking lot, enough for so many cars. There is entrance fee but it s cheap.

Museums
The National Museum of Korea, established in 2005, is a significant structure that showcases the nation's cultural and military artifacts as well as artworks. Situated in the Yongsan District, it offers visitors an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the country's history and heritage. Adjacent to various attractions such as Yongsan Family Park and Hangang Park, this location provides an ideal setting for exploring different facets of Seoul.
Great place to get acquainted with the Korean culture and history. The place itself is very comfortable and beautiful. That's a great pleasure just to walk around the territory. But the real magic starts inside. There are both historical and cultural expositions, some of them have also interactive digital experiences which are really interesting to try on. They also have all the explanations translated to English. Be ready to spend more than 2 hours here. I've spent 3 hours here during my first day in Korea and was forced to leave only because it was the end of the day. There are lots of resting areas around the building so you'll never be too tired to explore one more room. Tips: * Book the AR experience on the Museum website in advance. It's totally worth it! * Check for the announcements of the special events and exhibitions. The can expand your museum experience. Mostly they're free

This is an impressive and large museum. I was pleasantly surprised to see that entry was free, although there was a Pacific exhibition on at the same time that required payment. We didn’t go to that exhibition (I am from NZ so have seen quite a few pacific related exhibitions). The exhibits are spread over three floors which each floor dedicated to a broad theme. Have to say - the place was spotlessly clean and so too were the toilets of which they were located on each floor. I gave this only 4 stars, purely from a personal point of view. I have lived in Asia for well over 20 years (on and off) so I have seen multiple versions of blue and white vases, Buddhas etc. It was interesting to see a 600 BC Greek helmet plus other statues etc from Greece. It is well worth a visit but bring your walking shoes.

The building is as impressive as its collection. It free to enter unless one wants to visit special galleries. It was very good subway connectivity. Food and beverages aren’t allowed inside but there are free lockers to keep bags and food. Must visit if one is in Seoul.
Manpreeth N — Google review
The permanent collections are FREE to visit. Special exhibitions require a paid ticket. There is currently an exhibit of impressionist artwork from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Tickets for adults are 19,000₩. This is a good opportunity for those who enjoy impressionist/Western art but can’t access it easily. 4/5 stars because the museum uses AI videos in their exhibit honouring the marathon runner Son Kee-Chung. Also, The Buddhist painting gallery and the calligraphy and painting gallery are currently closed. There is so much to see here. I recommend checking the map and focusing on exhibits that interest you. There is a LOT of ceramic work like porcelain, celadon etc, which was not interesting to me. In addition to Korean art, there’s Ancient Roman and Greek, Central Asian, Buddhist art and a lot more. The museum has a light show/display on the ground floor pagoda every Wednesday and Saturday at 20:00. This was fun to watch. You go through airport scanners when first entering the museum and there are many lockers to store your belongings. The museum shop has a great selection of items at prices for every budget.
Sam Y — Google review
Excellent national museum for the Korean culture and history. Many artifacts mostly from Asia and eastern Asia in particular. Many exhibition halls were closed when I visited for renovation or for new exhibition build out. It is quite a big museum, and please bear in mind that this is not an art museum per se, there are sculptures and a few scattered paintings from around Asia, but there is not a specific exhibition room for paintings here. It is free to enter however, and the grounds are very photo worthy. Additionally, they sometimes have live performances under the big overhang outside the entrance. Finally, the exhibits and rooms themselves are really cool, very dark and well lit to highlight each exhibit. You won't regret visiting especially those with a special interest in Asian history, heritage and culture.

I loved visiting the Nationalmuseum of Korea. This place was rich in history and had so much information. It luckily had descriptions in english. The immersive art was an incredible experience that I'd recommend everyone to try.
J B — Google review
It was one of those scorching summer days in Seoul—31 degrees and climbing, the kind of heat that makes the pavement shimmer and your clothes stick to your skin the moment you step outside. I needed a break, not just from the weather, but from the noise and bustle of the city. So I decided to take refuge somewhere cool—not just in temperature, but in spirit. That’s how I found myself walking through the grand entrance of the museum, where the air-conditioning is crisp and the atmosphere is hushed with reverence. There’s something so comforting about wandering through corridors lined with history, where time slows down and the stories of past civilizations quietly unfold. This museum has always been one of my favorite escapes. It houses an incredible range of historical artifacts—from delicate ceramics and ancient scrolls to royal treasures and everyday objects that once belonged to people just like us, centuries ago. Each room feels like a portal to another world, and I never get tired of losing myself in its quiet magic. Even better? Admission is completely free every day, except for the occasional special exhibition. It’s rare to find such a rich cultural experience that’s so accessible to everyone. On a day when the city feels relentless, this museum offers not just a break from the heat, but a space to breathe, reflect, and be reminded of the long and fascinating human journey that brought us here. If you ever need a break—from the weather, the routine, or the chaos—this place is a perfect little oasis.
J P — Google review
Huge museum that tells the history of Korea and the influence of Buddhism. You can easily spend up to a few hours in the museum and the best part, it's free of charge. You can also take nice pictures of the scenery outside the museum. Please note that no food is allowed to be brought in. Nevertheless, lockers are provided for free. Please use Naver app for directions as it is more accurate.

N Seoul Tower, a landmark that has graced the skyline since 1980, is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Seoul. This iconic structure not only boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the city but also features a revolving restaurant that enhances your dining experience with stunning scenery. Known for its romantic ambiance, N Seoul Tower attracts couples and friends alike who come to attach love locks as symbols of their everlasting bonds—much like the famous Pont Neuf in Paris.
A Sunset Experience Worth the Wait! Visiting N Seoul Tower was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Seoul, though getting there tested my patience. The cable car line was brutal—I waited about 30 minutes just to buy tickets, and then stood in line for another hour to actually board the cable car. It wasn’t the most pleasant part of the experience, especially if you're short on time or visiting during peak hours. That said, it was absolutely worth it. We made it to the top just in time for sunset, and the views were nothing short of breathtaking. Watching the city light up beneath a fading sky from that height was a moment I won’t forget. Once you're up there, there's so much to do that you can easily spend hours exploring. The tower complex is full of restaurants and cafes with stunning views, art displays, photo booths, and tons of souvenir shops. One of the most charming parts is the Love Locks area—a colorful and romantic spot that adds a unique character to the visit. If you're planning to go, just be ready for the wait (especially if you take the cable car), or consider other ways up like the shuttle or a hike if you’re feeling adventurous. But once you’re at the top, it’s an experience that’s totally worth it—a perfect mix of panoramic views, culture, food, and fun.

A must on any trip to Seoul. Spectacular views. Be prepared for crowds on the weekends. On previous trips I’ve walked up - cable car is fun but huge queue & a long wait if you do that. This time I cycled up - steep … thank goodness for e-bikes! Don’t miss the small plaque & marker on the top … often overlooked but it’s the geographic center of the city, very cool.
Diane H — Google review
Must visit! It’s so scenic, especially with autumn colors. One gets beautiful Birds Eye view of the city and there are lot of cultural activities. Keeps one busy and entertained. Plenty of buses to take one around. It was lot walking, including some steep but worth every step.

Namsan Tower is another attraction I visited during my business trip. You have two options to get to the top of the mountain: by bus or on foot. I recommend taking the bus up and walking down — it’s easier and more enjoyable that way. Once you reach the top, the view is absolutely breathtaking! You can see the entire city from above, and the scenery is stunning. Don’t forget to check out the love locks area — it’s beautiful and very romantic.
Anh L — Google review
Great views of the city. Recommended to Come here at night. The lights shining on the tower gives it a mystical feel and look. The deck offers great views of the night skyline! The is a mall under the tower A but there is nothing to shout about. No crowds and no vibes. A place that is to be visited only once.
Ron Y — Google review
Purchased gondola ride to the tower. To buypass the ticket line purchase ahead from an online retailer. The gondola queue was long but worth the wait. Just missed the sunset but still got some beautiful scenery around the tower. The view is stunning from the top.

N Seoul Tower is a great place to visit when in Seoul great 360 views over the city and if you like a bit of romance you can lock your love up here. Don’t worry if you don’t have a lock with you can buy them up the tower. They have lots of shops for coffee food drinks while you enjoying the view. You can get the cable car 🚠 that cost 15000 Kyen for both ways and it runs very 10 mins , or you can hike all the way up.
Filippos M — Google review
We took a cable car up to the top and the view is great. I think for 2 people it cost 34K won. There are restaurants at the tower and snack shops. There are all sorts of touristy knick knacks you can buy at the gift shop. The only downside to the view is the smog which was pretty thick when we went. I'm assuming that might be the notm, however it was still a nice view of the sunset.

Military Museums
The War Memorial of Korea, located in the Yongsan-dong area of Seoul, is a museum dedicated to preserving and commemorating Korea's military history. Established in 1994 at the former army headquarters, it serves as a monument to the sacrifices made by soldiers during the Korean War and aims to prevent future conflicts by learning from this dark chapter in history.
The museum starts with the powerful statue of the two brothers, it really sets an emotional tone right away. Outside, there are planes and military equipment that show the scale of the conflict Inside, the exhibits are detailed and respectful, telling the stories of the soldiers and civilians affected by the war. It gives a much deeper appreciation of Korea’s history and bravery of those who fought

Quite brilliant. One of the best seen. Memorial and full of items from your Heavy weapons (planes, tanks, missiles, howitzers & choppers) to smaller yet equally important items of documentation & significance that range the entire Korean documented history. English summary provides sufficient info to follow the narrative. Interactive, AV & short clips a plenty. Really detailed if you take the audio. In addition to the full struggle for various forms of independence through the centuries, a huge part documents the participant nations that have assisted Korea with its Republic achievements. This includes a BIG thank you & respect to all those nations thru the Korean War who are never forgotten. There are many aspects of War, Military & independence covered here. The Memorial Hall & granite plaques of fallen hero’s, most poignant. 4 hours personally. Free entry.

Lots of exhibits and interactive things to entertain all ages. Very modern, clean and informative. Highly recommend visiting if you want to learn about the war

Incredibly well done memorial that might as well be called the Korean War Museum as it covers the entirety of conflicts on the Korean peninsula from prehistory to modern day. Huge facility with lots to explore from memorials to explanations of the history to tanks and airplanes on display! I foolishly only planned an hour here and actually had to come back a second time for a couple more hours and still didn't see it all! Free entrance as well, so really a must do for anyone interested in the military history of Korea. Also has free lockers for baggage of all sizes which was a bonus.

Embark on a skincare shopping spree at the bustling Myeondong Shopping Street, a popular tourist destination in Seoul. This vibrant area spans just 1 square kilometer but is packed with international and local cosmetic brands, as well as clothing boutiques. The narrow streets are lined with shops, hotels, and cafes. At night, the street comes alive with vendors selling local street food. It's a crowded yet convenient place to explore, especially for teenagers seeking bargains and trendy finds.
SO MANY STORE OPTIONS. IF YOURE VISITING SEOUL YOU MUST GO HERE AND ALSO VISIT THE STREET FOOD AREA. I WOULD SUGGEST CARRYING WON ON YOU FOR THE FOOD, IT RANGES FROM 3000 TO 15000 WON FOR MOST EVERYTHING FOOD WISE.

Another Tourist trap with a huge crowd that blocks one to move from shops to shops. I believe there is nothing cheap here because it is definately a touristic area. There is always a huge crowd will welcome you here. Non of the shops are cheap. You can find same products for cheaper at anywhere. Same shops have more that 3 filiales so you feel like you passed from the same street again. But that is not he case. Good thing is that is is safe even there is so many people. You can find variety of restaurants and street food, massage shops, cosmetics shops, Michelin certified restaurants etc. But i do not recommend you to shop here, just go to see as an experience. It is vibrant Athmosphere especially in nice weather.

Changdeokgung Palace, a stunning remnant of the Joseon dynasty, invites visitors to explore its rich history and beautiful gardens. As the second oldest of Seoul's five grand palaces, it served as the main royal residence from 1592 until 1868. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its well-preserved structures dating back to the 1600s-1800s, offering a glimpse into Korea's architectural heritage before modern reconstructions took over.
Beautiful and most historically original of the palaces in Seoul even if it wasnt the main palace. The secret garden is absolutely worth it. I booked the tickets for the secret garden online and it turned out to be a great decision since all tickets were sold out by the time we arrived in the afternoon.

The palace is truly amazing, situated in a calm section of the city and with some beautiful architectural highlights. During Golden Week, entry was granted free of charge, even for those not wearing the traditional attire. Unfortunately, the secret garden still required a ticket and was completely sold out for the day. I likely would have enjoyed the location more were it not for the throngs of people.

This palace wasn’t as busy as Gyeongbokgung palace at least when we went. It is a beautiful palace ground with lots of places to take pictures. There is another section which requires another ticket that was really nice. The path along the lake was nice and peaceful. Definitely recommend a visit here if you have the time
EMT G — Google review
Changdeokgung (Korean: 창덕궁; Hanja: 昌德宮) is a former royal palace in Seoul, South Korea. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Historic Site of South Korea, it is among the best preserved of all Korean palaces. It and its neighboring palace Changgyeonggung have together been called the "East Palace". Changdeokgung was established in 1405. It was the second palace to be established in Seoul, after Joseon's official main palace Gyeongbokgung. Despite Gyeongbokgung's legally superior status, a majority of kings preferred to reside in Changdeokgung instead. In 1592, amidst the Imjin War, Changdeokgung and all the other palaces in the city were completely destroyed. After the war, due to budgetary constraints, Gyeongbokgung was not repaired, while Changdeokgung and Changgyeonggung were. This effectively made Changdeokgung Joseon's main palace for several centuries. In the late 19th century, under the reign of the penultimate Korean monarch Gojong, Gyeongbokgung was rebuilt and the royal family moved out of Changdeokgung and into Gyeongbokgung, although they would again move to another palace Deoksugung in 1897. In 1907, Gojong was forced by Japan to abdicate, and his son and final Korean monarch Sunjong ascended the throne and made Changdeokgung his official palace. In 1910, Japan colonized Korea, and proceeded to heavily alter the palace. The Korean royal family continued to reside in the palace even after the 1945 liberation of Korea and into the late 20th century. Changdeokgung is now a major tourist attraction. In 1997, it was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace's Secret Garden [ko], long beloved by Korean monarchs, are now mostly available to the public, with some sections requiring tours to be booked.
Buster I — Google review
It's just a shame that these buildings were all destroyed with the Japanese invasion and it's so important and great that Korea is still working on restoring everything as best as possible. The palace is build a little closer together than at Gyeongbokgung Palace. The only thing I could critique is that the government should be paying a little more attention when including fire extinguishers or fuseboxes and maybe try to blend them in a little more. They often break the immersion and the view of the otherwise beautiful palace.
F. F — Google review
JUST WOW. We visited this UNESCO World Heritage site last November 18, 2025 - and we didn’t regret a thing. Everything is preserved, from the architectural designs of their villages and the nature hidden in the secret garden. How can I not fall in love with this masterpiece? God loves us all, but how come it’s different in South Korea? Kidding aside, it’s a gift from the mighty creator. We will surely come back! 🥹😇🌸🍁

Yes, you can trek the tourist roads up to the top for cafes and touristy sections, or you can hike on the off beaten paths up to the top of the mountain, too. Maybe try both ways and get a true sense of being in Namsan. Highly recommend both ways 👌

The road that we took to the tower was beautiful. I do warn you that it is a long journey tho! So preferably do take the route that includes a bus transport to the tower if you are not in the mood for walking. Once you reach the entrance of the tower you are greeted with a beautiful view which is even more stunning if you do buy the tickets and take the elevator to the observation deck. There, you can watch the lively city which is always lovely to look at. We went there in mid May. I personally think it is a great time where the weather is suitable for such an activity.

Gorgeous at night! Besides its fantastic day and night views, it has a lot to offer, from its numerous dining options, adventure theme parks, game arcade, observatory with 360-degree panoramic view of Seoul, photo-taking hot spots, scenic hiking trails and more. Namsan Seoul Tower was first established as a broadcast tower to send out TV and radio signals in 1969. The top of the tower is at 479.7m above sea level with Namsan Mountain at 243m and the tower’s own height at 236.7m, making it one of the tallest towers in the East. The view of the tower is amazing beautiful in different season. On nightfall, N Seoul Tower lights up in different colour to show the air quality that can be viewed from afar by the public.

There is so much to see and eat. Just be aware that it's more of a flea market feel here. Not that they sell used goods, but it's low prices and quantity you will find here, not trendy fashions or recognizable brands. In addition to the many stalls at street level, there are shops upstairs and an endless catacomb of micro stalls underground, many of which probably cater to locals.

Plenty of things to look on as its a combination of clothing/food and souvenirs shops with some of the famous brands you can find it here like Supreme/adidas and etc as they sell the replicas here (iykwim). The shoes and other accessories are fantastic and varies. The souveniors shops also is more affordable compare to myeondong ones. Its just some of the elderly locals doesnt want to entertain you and giving out a different pricing by seeing what type of people are you. Other than that a goos spot to get a mix of everything here

Big market with plenty of shopping choices. Ladies’ accessories are plentiful for selection. Good place to grab Korean souvenirs and gifts to bring home. Do watch some shops that blatantly changed prices (eg the red ginseng), pretty dishonest. Will advise to buy from shops with clear display of prices.

Bukchon Hanok Village

Nestled in the heart of Seoul, Bukchon Hanok Village is a captivating destination that transports visitors back to the 14th century. This charming village features narrow streets adorned with beautifully restored traditional Korean homes, offering a unique glimpse into the country's rich architectural heritage. As you wander through its labyrinthine alleys, you'll discover not only stunning views but also an array of cultural experiences nearby.
Visually stunning. Wandering the steep, narrow alleys lined with traditional Korean "hanok" houses is genuinely beautiful, especially near sunrise or sunset. Offers iconic postcard views of old Seoul against the modern city backdrop. BUT...be prepared for crowds. Seriously packed, especially weekends. Can feel like shuffling through a theme park queue at points. Constant photo shoots everywhere. It's a real, lived-in neighborhood to respect the residents (keep noise down, don't peek into homes). Worth it? Yes, for the unique atmosphere and photos. Go super early if possible, wear comfy shoes for the hills, and manage expectations about the bustle. More a scenic walk than a tranquil escape. Short visit (1-2 hours max) recommended.

This is one of the most memorable place I’ve been in Seoul. The Village is really nice and Clean. The designs are superb. I love how the government protect and preserve the historic structures in there country. I was there during summer time. Although it’s hot and humid but it was so worth it to see those beautiful things.

Super cool spot to come to(especially if you want to see a scene from kpop demon hunters lol, my wife is a fan). Only thing is it is a bit busier than I was expecting and there is really only one cool main road. There are a few cool side streets but since there is just one main then all the people gather in there. Still very worth visiting though and crowds broke enough for us to get some pics.

Absolute must visit. Beautiful historic neighborhood perfectly preserved and restored. Worth walking around with nice weather and exploring all the small streets and beautiful architecture. Recommend stopping at a tea house for a break. Beautiful. Highly recommend.

I would rate it as must see location in term of easy and interesting walk/city seeing experience. Gives a glimpse of Korean culture and architecture. Negative aspect - incredible number of very load and annoying individuals who are after selfies more than basic respect to local residents Recommended for visit. Enjoy the walk and show some respect toward others

Traditional Hanok Village. A lot of the houses are newly renovated with a traditional Hanok vibe. It's very photogenic. Recommend going right when they open since it can get crowded (but not too early as they are close to public before the road are open for public access). They also have tea shops and other retail stores within the village.

A traditional Korean village with some modern touches. A very eclectic selection of shops, not your typical tourist shops selling tacky sovenirs. There are many side streets worth exploring. Be prepared to walk a lot! This place is just next to the main palace, so it attracts spillover crowd. Be respectful of some places - they are actually residences. So do keep your volume down!

Interesting historical cultural village where you can see old privately owned homes from the outside. If you know south Australia, and you know Hahndorf, then this is the korean version albeit better in a historical sense. What is the same is the touristy vibe with the trinkety shops set up in some of the homes. The observatory near the top was good, the rest, not so much. Worth checking out because you came all the way to korea but really just a lot of old historical houses which for the most part you only see from the outside.

Cheonggyecheon is a revitalized stream in Seoul, offering a recreational area with landscaped walkways, footbridges, and greenery. The stream features 22 bridges and public artworks like the Spring in Cheong-gye Plaza. It's a popular spot for locals to escape the urban hustle and bustle, with people enjoying leisurely strolls or dipping their feet in the water during summer.
This is a beautiful stream right in the heart of Seoul. It’s peaceful and refreshing, with walking paths that make you forget you’re in the middle of a busy city. A perfect spot for a stroll, day or night!

Awesome in the center of Seoul! Very nice weather, good environment(really less car), local food markets(Bought really sweet green grape). Artificial stream all the way down to Dongdaemun area. If you want to, get a free automobile bus!
Jiin K — Google review
A leisurely stroll from the big artificial falls down several blocks lets you see people relaxing with families and friends, enjoying the simplest joys of life. There is the open Seoul Outdoor Library, with chairs on both banks on one section of Cheonggyecheon. Life is a bliss!

Beautiful stream to get away from overcrowding in the heart of Seoul. Bring your lunch and sit by the stream and do little picnic. Do some people watch, there are some birds like herons, egress and ducks there, too. In my opinion this maybe the best investment that Seoul has.made for the locals and tourists. Very very highly recommended visit 👌

This beautiful ~11km long stream and walkway in downtown Seoul is an urban oasis! Loved sitting sitting by the stream and walking along it! Thank you, Seoul, for rebuilding and maintaining this place of calm and an inviting place for the community in the middle of the city.

Came here mostly because of 'Lovely Runner'. Have seen this in other dramas and it was a place I was hoping to visit. It is so magical and the gray heron is just a character.

Peaceful place to escape right in the city. It's beautiful, well kept, and picturesque. Ithas interesting art installations and many places to sit and relax for a while.

This very unique plaza runs east and west in the center of several districts in Seoul. Entry into the area is a ramp down or stairs along the length of the attractive. Several over-hangs can provide shade and several visitors had their feet in the water. Would recommend this area for light meal, quiet social visit, or some peaceful meditation.

Gyeongbokgung Palace, a stunning royal palace from the 14th century, is a must-visit when exploring Seoul. Nestled near Bukchon Hanok Village and Changdeokgung Palace, it offers an enchanting glimpse into Korea's rich history and traditional architecture. You can embark on a delightful walking tour that starts at Gyeongbokgung, meandering through the charming alleys of Bukchon Hanok Village filled with picturesque old homes before reaching Changdeokgung.
A big palace to visit. Inside, you will likely spend an hour to two to really complete everything. Plenty of nice scenic spots and Korean architecture for that photo moment, especially further away from the main gate, where it is less crowded.

Good but overly touristy for me. I managed to get the photos I wanted and scooted out of the crossed place. Can’t say much. Beautiful buildings externally but not much in terms of design. Unlike other Asian countries whose palaces display thier grandeur through intrinsic design.
Shena D — Google review
My whole experience of visiting Geongbokgung Palace was the beauty of fall leaves and then women from all around the world flaunting their beautiful hanboks clicking pictures all around the palace premises. Disappointed that I did not get a chance to watch the change of guards as our guide did not add it to the itinerary. The palace is beautiful and every nook and corner has its own beauty.

Must see in Seoul Entrance fee 3000 - worth of it Suggestion - take a free tour (e.g English at 10:30 am, 13:30h or 15:30h) if you are into learning of Korean culture - incredibly great decision of mine Crowded, yes. Pleasant experience, definitely

We had free entry because of some national festival. Great and imposing architecture / you will have to be there in person to savour the size and grandeur of the palace. It is HUGE. The grounds are large. There is even a museum shop for drinks, and some gifts. You should visit that. Lots of opportunities to take selfies and wefies. You will see many tourists wearing the traditional costumes. A must-go for all visitors to Seoul. Highly recommended! Thumbs up!
Ron Y — Google review
We did it all: dressed in traditional garb, traipsed through the palace grounds, watched a 15th century changing of the guard reenactment, scheduled a tour, did a photo shoot... . If you do wear hanboks, the entry fee is waived. Ultimately, an enchanting experience. There are loads of hanbok stores to choose from so check out as many as you can before committing (as designs and quality vary).
Hannah — Google review
A must see location if you are visiting Seoul. Lines moved very quickly, we used the National Folk Museum entrance and there was hardly any lines there. Once inside you can just go left from the entrance and walk around to the Palace.
Hasan A — Google review
This palace is huge. Free entry if you are wearing Hanbok. Lots of tourists wear hanbok so you don't won't feel out of place wearing one. There are two changing of the guards ceremonies to see. Many good photo spots.

Hongdae Shopping Street is a vibrant area located near a large university in Seoul. It's known for its youthful and lively atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The neighborhood offers an array of independent shops, restaurants, and live music venues. On weekends, the streets come alive with bustling crowds and various buskers showcasing their talents through singing, dancing, and music performances. This trendy district is also favored by visitors for its relatively affordable accommodation options compared to the city center.
I really enjoyed walking around Hongdae. There’s a great mix of clothing shops, street food, and trendy cafes. It’s a fun place to explore, whether you’re shopping or just soaking in the atmosphere. The vibe is youthful and energetic, but still feels clean and well organized. It does get pretty crowded, especially in the evening, but that’s part of the charm. A must-visit spot if you’re in Seoul and want to experience the city’s vibrant street culture!

What an amazing place you can explore a whole day in! During the day it slowly starts getting busier and then the evenings feel like it's times square in New York. So heads up haha. Might be lucky to catch some performances! So many food places and cafes to explore and there's pop up events. I recommend checking out Colline, such a lovely cafe surrounded by flowers. Lovely aesthetic.

Hongdae Shopping Street is everything you expect: lively, colorful, and packed with energy. It’s a mix of trendy boutiques, street food, and performers, all blending into one big experience. The clothes range from affordable local pieces to unique designer finds, and there’s always something happening, day or night. It can get crowded fast, especially on weekends, but that’s part of the fun. The street food is solid too… tons of options like corn dogs, tteokbokki, and desserts. Even if you’re not shopping, it’s a great place to walk around and take in the vibe.

Near to Honggik University. Plenty of fashion shops along the street. Quite some interesting snacks along the street, but you got to look for it. With the trip to go by, if not to shop, just to have a look around and soak in the atmosphere in this area.

This street has alot to offer both shops and restaurants, It has alot of korean bbq / beer and chicken etc, as for shop it has alot of rustic kind of shops for both man and woman For me this place feels much more cleaner and newer interms of vibes compared to let’s say meongdong. Definitely a place to visit if you are in korea

Highly recommend to go to Hongdae over Myeongdong. Myeongdong seems to be all foreigners including store and restaurant staff. Hongdae has much more koreans.

Fun area. Lots of shopping from major brands to small stores, and many places to eat. Buskers perform in the streets.
