Nanshe Ming and Qing Ancient Village is a well-preserved site with ancient buildings that are currently undergoing restoration. Despite the ongoing restoration work, the village is worth visiting to witness its historical charm.
I had a great time exploring Nanshe Ming and Qing Ancient Village. It was raining during my visit, which was a bit of a bummer, but honestly, it didn’t stop me from taking photos—the village still looked beautiful and full of charm. The old architecture really gives off a peaceful, historic vibe. I also had lunch inside the village, and it was quite nice—simple but satisfying. Just a heads-up: the toilets are very limited, so plan ahead if you're staying for a while. Despite the rain and that one inconvenience, I really enjoyed my time there. It’s definitely worth a visit if you're in Dongguan.

A small place that is somewhat far from the city. Although certain buildings are renovated, there are still alot of old infrastructures and way of life to admire at this place. Rent a costume if you like to take some really nice cultural photos. Maybe a decent place for a Chinese themed photoshoot. Really unprofessionally run golf club ,no one really speaks English and the whole time everyone is trying to scam money from you for services that aren’t really provided At one stage I was surrounded by 3 staff members demanding that I give them all the cash I had on me In the end I paid over $400 Australian dollars for a game of golf and to hire some clubs that looked like they came out of a thrift store at best as nothing matched I just had 11 random clubs in a bag with a broken Odessay putter and a caddy There is no ATM in the club and yiu can’t call a taxi to pick you up at the end either It was the worst golf experience I have ever had

Another great day out exploring Guangzhou and its hinterland, this time we had a walk around an old ancient quarry in Lotus hill. Very well signposted, and very relaxing to walk around all the sights, and believe me there was so much to take in..... the lakes, the abandoned and hallowed out quarries, the pagoda, the Buddhist statute towering in the sky and its nearby monastery and temple, the Lotus wall, the bee hive garden (with tasty honey cakes on offer), the Eagle Tunnel, the Lotus ancient wall and much more..... it really took all day to see everything and even then we probably missed something! But was easy to keep to the path and directions were plain and simple to follow. Also as the place is so spacious it was not so crowded and on occasion you might be the only people on certain paths - which is unusual in China! I cant say I had a favourite for the day as all the sights had their own unique experience and I enjoyed each and every one of them. I really loved this old quarry and park - mostly because there was so many different things to see and experience, and it was nice to walk around on the hot day it was. Strongly recommended, especially for a full day out!

Overall, Longgang Museum of Hakka Culture is a great destination for those interested in exploring China's diverse cultures and history.

I really enjoyed this museum in the heart of Longgang District. It is a maze of exhibit rooms, I got a little lost, in fact! Beautifully preserved space, with a central garden. You will need Google Translate for some exhibits but most displays have English. Some of the exhibits are dusty and need some TLC. It takes about 2-3h to get through it all. Free entry, just write sole details in a book, no bag drop. Nice and central and close to metro. Worth the visit for an insight into Hakka Culture.

Dameisha Beach, also known as Dameisha Seaside Park, is a top destination in Shenzhen, China. This picturesque beach offers stunning mountain views and stretches over 1.8 kilometers along the crystal-clear waters of Dapeng Bay. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as swimming, water sports like jet skiing and parasailing, beach volleyball, and even barbecue parties on the soft sandy shores. The park is divided into different zones for different activities including leisure and water sports.
Clean and calm overall—one of the best. I found it unique as it’s surrounded by mountains, making it the perfect place to relax. Had a great time here. Also, there are many 4–5 star hotels nearby, making it very convenient to travel with the metro.
Shivani — Google review
It's a nice and clean Sea beach very near to Dameisha Subway 🚉. The waters are blue and near the Food over bridge it's turns into black. You will be loved it to go there.
Subhajit D — Google review
I went on a summer day, Friday afternoon and the beach was full of crowds and a whole lot of children running around. It wouldn’t be such a good idea as a getaway, but I guess the dining establishment along the beach would offer something for everyone. I sat down for a drink to cool down and enjoy the sound of the waves and that served my purpose. To my surprise despite huge crowds there, the water really was very clean and the sand was soft and fine. There are more adventurous water sports options there such as paragliding. Very accessible by metro, get off at Dameisha station.
Helen J — Google review
It's one of the best known beaches in China and, combined with different tiers of hotels and shopping arcades, I'm sure it's it's one of the most visited. With the opening of Dameisha subway station right next to it (exit A), it was just jammed with people. Btw, the decorations at the station echoes the beautiful beach outside. Don't forget to take some pictures on the way out.

Lianhuashan Park, also known as Lotus Hill Park, is a serene oasis located in the heart of Shenzhen. Spanning an impressive 370 acres, this urban retreat offers visitors a delightful blend of nature and culture. With its lush gardens, expansive lawns, and scenic viewpoints, it's the perfect spot for leisurely strolls or family outings. The park features various attractions including temples that provide insight into traditional practices and a notable bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping.
This park is huge and amazing!! You can stay in this park all day! So much fun for kids and families. They have good facilities like bathrooms and sinks, plenty of food vendors and you can order whatever you like to get delivered by drone! There's hiking paths, a lake, playgrounds, benches, etc.. You can access this park by the Metro Train as well to help with the parking. I highly recommend coming to this park on a weekend with your family.
Friendly N — Google review
Simply superb! I didn’t have enough time exploring the whole park (it seems like a big park as shown in the map), just a small hike to go visit Deng Xiaoping Statue before sunset. Very nice, clean and quiet place, it feels like a breeze of nature in the middle of a highly industrialized city like Shenzhen. I love the cozy book/coffe shop downhill as well. Good architecture. Another +1 for this place is the seated toilet 😉. Personally like it as a tourist. I will go back to this place and will plan to spend a full day here.
Trang N — Google review
A highlight of my trip to the futian district of shenzhen would be hiking up the garden and viewing the city from this vantage point. Definitely worth a visit! You can see most of the central business district from the top of lianhuashan park. Do note a climb of about 15mins is required and can be quite uncomfortable due to the heat and humidity if you are visiting in the summer. I got to see many kids visiting the park on a school day too! Nice little excursion for the kids.
Darryl T — Google review
Huge park with lots of things to do like Picknicks, walking, dancing etc. You can easily spend half a day here. There are many vending machines and many vendors which sell different kind of food, drinks and things. Of course the view of Shenzhen from the top is a real highlight. It’s a pretty easy walk up there but with the heat and the humidity it was really unbearable for me that day. So just take it slow and bring water with you!

Visiting Lianhuashan Park today was an absolute delight! This place is a hidden gem-impeccably clean, lush, and beautifully designed. The moment you step in, the vibrant greenery and fresh air make you forget you're in a bustling metropolis. ✳️ Highlights: ✅ Stunning Views – The hike up to Dengta Hill is totally worth it! The panoramic view of Shenzhen’s skyline, including Ping An Finance Centre, is breathtaking. ✅ Perfect for Relaxation – Whether you're jogging, having a picnic, or just unwinding by the lotus ponds, the park offers a peaceful escape. ✅ Well-Maintained – Spotless pathways, manicured lawns, and plenty of shaded areas make it a joy to explore. ✅ Family-Friendly – Spacious playgrounds and open fields are great for kids and outdoor activities. A big shoutout to the park authorities for maintaining such a clean and serene environment. Whether you're a local or a traveler, Lianhuashan Park is a must-visit for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike! A Green Oasis in the Heart of Shenzhen! 🌿

A peaceful escape in the heart of the city! Lianhuashan Park is a beautiful green space with plenty of walking paths, scenic views, and tranquil spots to relax. The park is well-maintained and has a nice mix of nature and art, including statues and gardens. The Window of the World Ticket Office is a large theme park that offers visitors the chance to explore miniature replicas of around 130 famous global attractions. From the Eiffel Tower to the Niagara Falls, and from the Sydney Opera House to Mount Rushmore, this park provides a curious glimpse at how various world landmarks are portrayed in miniaturized form. The replicas are found in different proportions, such as 1:1, 1:5, and 1:15.
Big theme park with lots to see, and a few rides to go with it. If taking the train, the park entrance is located at the "louvre" train exit. Coolest train exit I've seen. There is a "hanging gardens" ride, a 4d movie theatre (5min showtime), spinning dumbo cups and more. Spent 2 hours here and still could not visit all the attractions. My favorite was the koi pond with very large koi fish and an anime statue.
Darryl T — Google review
This is a big theme park with famous miniature buildings / tourist attractions from all around the world. We went at night to see the lights but the rides and shows were all closed. I recommend going around 2pm so you have about 5 hours to experience the shows and the rides. There is a lot of walking, kind of like going to Disneyland. It's a fun place to go with kids and there's some small parks inside for the kids to play in.
Friendly N — Google review
The place is absolutely beautiful and worth the walk and effort. However, I recommend avoiding a visit in the morning as the weather is extremely hot and humid. The temperature improves after 3 PM. Make sure to bring a map if you plan to explore all the attractions—it will take at least 6 hours. You’ll need to drink plenty of water, and I highly recommend trying the iced watermelon juice. It’s a refreshing choice! 👍🏻

I visited Windows of the World in October 2024. It was quite crowded, but still a fun and interesting place. The weather was hot, so make sure to bring water and sun protection. The park has impressive miniature versions of famous landmarks from all over the world—Eiffel Tower, pyramids, Taj Mahal, and more. It’s a great place for taking photos and spending a few hours walking around. It’s conveniently located near the metro station, which made it very easy to get there—I took the metro directly. The underground area connected to the station is full of shops, food courts, and small restaurants, so it’s a good place to eat or cool off before or after your visit.

Window of the World is a very big theme park in Shenzhen. It features replicas of all the iconic and famous landmarks in the world. It is divided into 8 geographical zones. They are World Plaza, Asia Zone, Oceania Zone, Europe Zone, Africa Zone, America Zone, Sculpture Zone, and International Street. Among the landmarks reproduced here are the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Great Pyramid, Taj Mahal, Big Ben, Angkor Wat, Arc de Triomphe and Kek Lok Si. There is a elaborate cultural dance and acrobatic show at 8.00pm every night. It is very entertaining with attractive lights, music, costumes, props and backdrops. Do not miss this show when you visit this park. Entrance ticket to the park (inclusive of the evening show) is RMB220 per adult, no discount for foreign senior citizens.

Good place to visit for any type of shopping needs. They have all the major brands here like Lulu etc. Great selection of food also including the Michelin restaurant here (don’t know the name but located on third floor). It’s packed after 12pm and especially busy on the weekends. I was craving Vietnamese pho and surprised they had one. Ordered the soup and it was fantastic but the other items were so so. Flea & Street Markets
Luohu Commercial City, located on the border of Hong Kong opposite Shenzhen railway station, is a bustling market known for selling inexpensive counterfeit versions of designer clothing, electronics, and other goods. In addition to knockoff products, the market also offers traditional Chinese items such as silk scarves, jade carvings, and replica Qing Dynasty-style ornaments. Visitors can haggle for their desired items but should be prepared for sellers trying to get the highest price.
Visited Luohu Commercial City recently, and wow, what an experience! This bustling multi-story marketplace is a sensory overload in the best way possible. From knockoff designer bags to tailor-made suits, electronics, and quirky souvenirs, it’s a treasure hunt for bargain lovers. The energy here is electric-vendors calling out deals, the hum of haggling, and the sheer variety of goods make it unlike any mall I’ve been to. ✳️ Pro tip: Brush up on your bargaining skills and bring cash for the best deals! I snagged a custom-made dress for a steal after some friendly negotiation. The food court on the upper floors is a hidden gem-authentic dim sum and spicy noodles were a highlight. However, it can feel chaotic, and some vendors are pushier than others, so go in with confidence and patience. Accessibility is great, right next to the Luohu border crossing, making it super convenient for a day trip from Hong Kong. Just be ready for crowds, especially on weekends. A must-visit for a unique shopping adventure in Shenzhen!

I rarely give bad reviews, and I really wanted to like this place. But you’re constantly being harassed, people following you to force you to buy things. You have to haggle eveeeerry single thing, which becomes exhausting. I was ready to buy tons of things, but I spent two hours here and i only got a T-shirt. People get mad at you if you don’t buy from their stores.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. People constantly walking alongside you trying to sell stuff. They will not leave you alone. Had 2 people following me at the same time. Furthermore, lockers are provided on site, eliminating concerns about safeguarding personal belongings.

The beach itself was beautiful and you can swim all along the shore, as well as do a variety of water activities if you're feeling adventurous. There are shaded tents for you to rent, which would be ideal if you have a group of people to split the cost. Another great thing is that they had lockers for you to rent for the day, so you don't have to worry about your things.
