Canadian Tire Centre

Mentioned on
5 lists
Arena
Sights & Landmarks
Canadian Tire Centre, home of the Ottawa Senators, is not just a hockey arena but also an entertainment complex that hosts concerts and various sporting events. The venue has seen the likes of the Stanley Cup and the Ice Hockey World Championship. With its massive size and four seating levels, it offers a decent atmosphere for concerts, events, and sports competitions. The well-maintained facility features bars, lounges, food courts, merchandise stores, and shops on-site.
Recently got a chance to watch an NHL game. Though we took a bus to reach the arena, the parking area is quite spacious. The entry process was smooth. We entered through Gate 3 and everything from queues, elevators, ticket checking, to security was efficiently managed. Each floor has plenty of food and drink options, as well as washrooms. Overall, a good experience. Just a note of caution, on game days, traffic can be a nightmare, so please check maps and local updates before heading out, or white driving.
Amartya G — Google review
Decent arena, showing its age. Quite a distance outside the city, reasonable parking price. Security is better than many arenas in the league. There is a discrepancy between what the website says in regards to bags (website says no bags at all) but in practice, bags seemed to be allowed within certain dimensions. Signage for food could be improved. Various foods were advertised around the concourse without any indication as to where these foods could be found (what sections these concessions were at). I was with my hangry girlfriend who wanted one of these foods and we walked around half the arena trying to find this particular food that was advertised and we couldn’t find it. Food and beer line ups were reasonable and quick. The egress after the game was a bit of a pain and took a lot of time. Traffic management could be improved for getting out.
James F — Google review
Came to the home of the Ottawa Senators for their 2025-2026 Canadiens season home opener against the Predators. Great arena - it's a relatively new place, and what a crowd of fans! The arena is located in Kanata, which is west of Ottawa, so might help to have a car if you're planning a visit, like we were, from out of town. Overall, a great place to watch hockey and looking forward to a return trip. Recommended!
Shingo I — Google review
For being 30 years old, this arena is pretty great. The updates and amenities mean this is a really fun spot to watch a game or go to a concert. Parking lots are another story and the fact they still have not figured out how to get people out in reasonable time is hard to believe. That’s the reason for the 4-star review.
Chris V — Google review
Excellent arena ... over the years, I must have been there 20 to 30 times for hockey games, conerts and other shows. This time it was Cirque de Soleil and their OVO spectacle, and every part of that experience was excellent. The parking was easy, the event was well staffed and the food/drinks were exceptional. The facility is well managed and maintained. The process of hosting visitors is well organized, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I remember when this place first opened as The Palladium in 1996, then as the name changed, how the letters on the sign were auctioned off. Living in Kanata, this stadium is both practical and sufficient, plus it's the home of our Ottawa Sens.
Sam J — Google review
The Bryan Adams concert was absolutely amazing — such a great show! However, the experience was disappointing when it came to the disabled seating organizers. I called weeks in advance to ask for information and guidance on what to expect and how to prepare for the concert seating, but no one ever returned my calls or voicemails. Better communication and support for guests with accessibility needs would make the experience much smoother.
Naze — Google review
Joanne at guest services was an angel and sent Spartacat to our section because we were desperate for a photo on our Canadian hockey tour! Shari, our usher was so helpful in telling us where to get first game certificates and helping us with Spartacat. The whole staff at the arena was so kind and helpful. Entry to the venue was so easy, it was great we could be inside right away and hit the store before the game. Even leaving, staff was so great to find us the best location to be picked up at. Food was reasonably priced for a hockey venue and the crowd was so kind and lovely to even the visiting team and their fans. They have a fanboni and a band?! 10/10 would hockey here again.
Sam M — Google review
Beautiful venue....lots of friendly, helpful staff when I was unsure where to go...food and drinks a little pricey but lots of choices. Went to see Darius Rucker and seats in the 100 were awesome!

Historic Wakefield Covered Bridge

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
Very beautiful. Take a few minutes to go tour some history I just loved it. I walked down the steps and along the water and watched the fast moving water off the rocks and walked through the bridge there is some nice information on the years built etc.
Liette K — Google review
It feels magical with the open Bay Area of Wakefield down river. It’s only accessible by foot or bike, you’ll need to park on the road or local parking spaces. There is a set of stairs to get down to the water. There are also areas to sit on the rocks and go into the water, with rapid areas where people practice kayaking.
Brian M — Google review
Biked to the Wakefield Covered Bridge — such a peaceful and beautiful little town. The ride was scenic, and the town itself feels like a hidden gem tucked away in nature. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon escape.
Phoebe — Google review
This a nice wooden bridge over the Ottawa river. Has lots of signs around explaining the history and build process. There's a walkway along the water where many people chill or have picnic. The parking lot is across the street, a minute walk from the spot. But there are no signs for the guests to know.
Nehal A — Google review
A very beautiful and charming bridge! Amazing views of the river, especially at sunset. A perfect spot for a walk and photos. Peaceful and romantic atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting!
Ganna B — Google review
Hidden gem, very beautiful and relaxing place with nice cafes, walking, canoeing and dining options

Nice, historic recreation. The original bridge burned down, and has been replaced by this version. Still a great place to visit. Beautiful scenery. Very impressed the bridge was replaced and in the fashion of the original.

We had a very fun visit and really appreciated all of the slides catered to little ones. Nice picnic area and very clean.
Alisha — Google review
This hill holds a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, they lost a lot of their sole when their chalet burnt down. And they’re still recovering from it. The new roadway makes accessing the hill/parking lot much safer, and easier to navigate. The new chalet is great, but is missing several key factors and functionalities I’ve come to expect in my 30+ years in the skiing community at every ski hill I’ve been to.
Nathan R — Google review
Great water park. A handful of rides for kids and adults. The park was packed the day we went and we had to rent a gazebo for 90 CAD to get a decent spot for our group. But this was probably not the norm. Plenty of food options around. For some reason most people were going on to the outside one, but if you go to the building on the right side of the resort they actually have pizza sandwiches and snacks and there was hardly a line up there because I doubt people knew about it. There are also changing rooms in multiple locations in the resort. Lineups move relatively fast. Service was good and tons of parking. Overall a great time
K K — Google review
The Hills were in great condition and the skiing was amazing. The lifts went up and not too bad of a speed. The food was a bit more expensive than I would’ve hoped for but still quite good for ski hill. Prices 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Violet R — Google review
Came here with my family on December 22 and had an enjoyable time. Although some runs were closed, the conditions were good for a fun day of skiing. Given that this was my first trip here, I wasn't sure what to expect, but after a positive experience, I would come back.
James C — Google review
I live just around the corner of mount cascade but I still think it is an amazing little park. They recently opened their new chalet, which I think is spectacular. I’ve just tried the food for the fist time and it was delicious but just a tad more expensive then other places. But for for a ski chalet pretty good!! The employees are really great they can help you whenever you need! I recommend the chili and the pasta! I’ve been coming here a long time and I think they really stepped up their game this year! Edit: At the place where you can buy pastreys a good deal is to get the pastreys from yesterdays as they are cheaper don’t for get to tip the staff!!!
Finlay S — Google review
This is the best family water park ever! They don't make you wait in line with your tubes. The strictly enforce weight limits and that rides designed for 2 are actually for two. This means that two adults can't typically do certain rides or go down on their own. There are plenty of shaded picnic areas with tables. They let you bring your food. There are also 3 distinct zones for kids, toddlers, young kids and under 10. Not to mention it's fairly well maintained.
Mikołaj C — Google review
Great slopes, the chalet burnt down so there is a temporary one. The staff are friendly and the poutine was good. It’s a cute spot, they also have water slides for the summer time. Great for families!

Awesome golf course, definitely a most play! However, can be very crowded so play time above 4 hours easily. Took me 4 and a half hour.
JP P — Google review
They’ll get groups teeing off 1 and 10, and when you make the turn you need to wait at least 20 minutes because they don’t space tee times enough.

Nestled along the picturesque Rideau River, Watson's Mill stands as a testament to Ottawa's rich industrial past. This historic flour mill, operational since the 1860s, continues to produce stone-ground whole wheat flour while offering visitors a glimpse into its fascinating history. The museum showcases old machinery and invites guests to explore its charming architecture. During summer months, Watson's Mill buzzes with lively events and activities that draw in locals and tourists alike.
Really cool spot if you’re into history or just want to see something different. Old mill machinery, lots of character, and the setting by the water is great. Worth checking out if you’re in Manotick.
James B — Google review
Original machinery grinding flour on certain days. Historic gristmill located in Manotick, a charming village just south of Ottawa, Ontario. It’s one of the few working water-powered mills in Canada that still produces stone-ground flour today.
Nithin C — Google review
Manotick area as part of Ottawa - bearing historical background identified by the water powered turbines (manufactured in Ottawa) supplying power for mills - an outstanding example of mill architecture in Ontario - a good legacy of beginning of industrialization - a n awesome place to be visited - a combination of nature & legacy.

super beautiful terrain

Beautiful place with high hilly vistas. Some challenging holes. On suggestion I would recommend is to kill or cut down the wild parsnip. It is extremely prolific.
David S — Google review
Today is my 1st time to play inside this golf course. It is very easy for online reservation. Once I arrived there, the coordinator is very friendly and helpful. She made minor change for my time schedules and I got a little bit earlier than the original time ( 10:10AM). In this way, I avoided a group and took an advantage to play with relaxation! The gold course is really beautiful and located inside the embraces of the mountains. The 9-hole design is moderated challengeable! I lost one golf ball when I tried plat one valley at the 7th hole. I would recommended more friends to join us and definitely will come back next time!

A great place to visit during the fall as it isn't as hot as the summer and mosquito isn't an issue. Should book your ticket ahead of time as there's a limit on how many guest they can accommodate per time slot. Keep I'm mind, it's a rain or shine event when you book. The guide did a great job and the kids had fun with their friends from school. Note: My daughter said the aerial course at this location is a lot easier compared to the one in Rigaud.
Khammy P — Google review
Truly amazing experience. The cave was incredible with all its crevices and chambers. You'd feel like a groundhog from all the crawling. Joe was amazing, he projected so much positivity during our tour and guided us safely all through out our journey in the cave.
Jilianne B — Google review
Loved the cave tour and taking pictures of all the frogs in the pond. 🐸 Our guide (Palm Tree) was friendly and super knowledgeable. It was a great activity for nature lovers. Make sure to bring a sweatshirt, even on hot days because the cave is chilly inside.
Pearls M — Google review
Would recommend this place 10/10. We did the zip line & Ariel game trek course and it was incredible! We also did the cave tours, and honestly, it was the most magical coolest thing ever. Could not beat the value and I would go back there again in a heartbeat. P.S. all the staff was so wonderful! Especially our guide Monkey and the lovely gentlemen who guided the cave tours
Anastasia N — Google review
We enjoyed a small group cave tour as a family with younger children and a couple that we met on site! Our guide, GI Joe was fabulous, as well as patient and accommodating. We appreciated the different aspects of touring a cave, ie: walking around to crawling on our arms. We also congratulate our guide on being mindful and respectful of the environment and the impact of giving cave tours. Love this place.
Tamara — Google review
We had an amazing time on the cave tour! It was such a unique and fascinating experience for the whole family. The cave itself was incredible to explore, and the atmosphere made it feel like stepping into another world. Our guide was fantastic — very knowledgeable and passionate, sharing tons of interesting facts about the cave’s history and geology. Overall, an educational and fun adventure that both kids and adults will enjoy. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something different and memorable!

Museums
The Canadian War Museum, located in a modern building, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing Canada's military history. The museum pays tribute to the country's involvement in various conflicts such as the French and Indian War, World War I, and World War II. Designed by Raymond Moriyama, it houses over 3 million artifacts including artillery, uniforms, medals, documents, recordings and rare vehicles.
The Canadian War Museum in Ottawa is truly a must-visit if you’re in the city. It’s a place filled with so much history and information, offering a deep and meaningful look into Canada’s past. The museum is very well-organized and presents our great Canadian history in an engaging way, with exhibits that are both educational and moving. What makes it even better is that it’s enjoyable for the whole family. There are great activities for kids and interactive displays that make learning fun and memorable. Every visit feels like a new experience, there’s always something new to learn, discover, or see. We love coming back here, and each time we leave with a greater appreciation of Canada’s history and the sacrifices made. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Ottawa. ⸻ Do you want me to make it sound more like a short Google review (punchy and casual) or a detailed TripAdvisor-style review (longer, with highlights of exhibits)?

$5 tour is worth doing if you have a short time to visit but definitely could spend a whole day here! The cafe is affordable and the outside patio is a good break from the intense subject matter. The veteran's exhibit is a quiet place to contemplate in between learning about war as well. The building itself is a work of art along with the many pieces inside. Go downstairs to see the Viny Ridge plasters for sure and talk to others to gain insight!
Kerri M — Google review
After so many years living in the Ottawa Gatineau area I finally decided to visit this museum. I was very much surprised and impressed because I thought it might be a stale atmosphere because of the theme of the museum. I can honestly say it’s very well set up and very nicely organized. If you’re interested in the history of war, this is the place to come. 👍😎
Yodaman S — Google review
The Canadian War Museum is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. It’s not just a museum — it’s a powerful journey through Canada’s history, courage, and sacrifice. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels calm yet deeply emotional. The architecture alone tells a story, with every corner designed to make you reflect. Each exhibit is beautifully presented, combining personal stories, photos, artifacts, and multimedia in a way that connects you to the people behind the history. You don’t just learn about wars — you feel what Canadians went through. Couldn’t see The Memorial Hall. It’s also a great place for families; children love seeing the tanks, planes, and interactive displays. The museum is spotless, well-organized, and easy to explore at your own pace. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, always happy to share insights or answer questions. Whether you’re visiting Ottawa or live nearby, this museum is a must-see. It leaves you with a sense of gratitude and pride for those who served and a reminder of how precious peace truly is.

The Canadian War Museum in Ottawa offers a powerful and immersive look into Canada’s military history, from early conflicts to modern-day missions. Its exhibits are well-designed, combining artifacts, multimedia, and personal stories that make the experience both educational and emotional. Visitors especially enjoy the impressive displays of tanks, aircraft, and weapons, though the museum can feel overwhelming due to its depth and emotional weight. Overall, it’s a must-visit attraction that inspires reflection and appreciation for Canada’s sacrifices and contributions in war... 🇨🇦

I visited the War Museum last summer and can’t believe I missed writing about this fantastic experience! 🇨🇦 The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, deeply moving, and give a powerful glimpse into history. From the artifacts to the stories behind them, everything is presented in a way that makes you reflect and appreciate the sacrifices made. 🕊️ It’s both educational and emotional—a place that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommend for anyone visiting, no matter your age or background.
G J — Google review
A great place to visit if you want to learn more about Canada’s war history. There are many weapons and artifacts on display that vividly tell the story of past conflicts. The environment is clean, spacious, and well-organized, making it an engaging and educational experience.
Abby L — Google review
Absolutely incredible museum from an information and visual perspective. It starts with four separate rooms explaining each era of Canadian war history with incredible artifacts and detailed descriptions of what occurred. Each area is very well down and then as you move to the end there is a whole floor filled with tanks and other military vehicles throughout the years of both Canadian and international origin. The museum does an amazing job of bringing war to life and helping you appreciate the scale of the wars and the equipment used. A can't miss if you are in Ottawa, however be prepared to spend a good three hours here.

Skiing area across 2 peaks, with a terrain park & a ski cross run, plus hiking & biking in summer.
Mon Ste-Marie is a great resort with fantastic skiing. The tallest vertical drop in the Gatineau Valley has some iconic runs like Dustin Cook and Betsy; all serviced by the fastest lifts around. To cap off a wonderful day, visit the bar in the main lodge for some great entertainment.

Went up Taylor's Tower of Power with my two kids and went down Growler. One of the best mountain bike experiences of our lives. Beautifully built trails. Definitely worth the trip from wherever you are coming.
Pat G — Google review
MSM has a lot of great things going for it and it does standout as one of the best ski resorts North of Ottawa. PROS... two very quick quad high-speed chairs, typically not very busy so the lineups are short, excellent mix of blue and black diamond runs, noticeably higher in elevation compared to other hills in the area, excellent apres ski and cafeteria, and a great racing community. CONS there is not a lot of great options for green runs for beginners, and they don't have the terrain Park set up for much of the season
Johnny O — Google review
Some of the best mountain biking trails around. Very clean and organized. Just remember to buy your trail pass online.

If you live in Ottawa and don't want to drive much more than an hour to go skiing, then Mont Ste-Marie is an excellent option. Of the hills close to Ottawa (I'm excluding Tremblant as it is about two hours away), this site has arguably the most challenging runs. My family came on December 28 and really enjoyed ourselves, despite the weather conditions not being ideal. Would happily come back.

Beautiful experience, the mountain trail is an easy trail but a lot of uphill, and the view at the top is breathtaking. Make sure to bring binoculars, it is so quiet up here during non busy season

We had a great time at the resort last week. The chairlifts are a bit outdated. But the slopes are in excellent condition. There is no green here. Only blue, black or double black. The trails are long and windy. Some of the blue trails are like black in southern Ontario, like blue mountain or mount st luis. A bit challenging but fun. There are lots of racers or ex-racers come here to practice. If you just started skiing or snowboarding, probably this is not a good choice. Special note - the café is awesome. Love the sandwiches. Yummy 😋

The Canadian Museum of History is a captivating institution that delves into the rich tapestry of Canadian culture and history. Designed by Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal, the building's fluid curves are reminiscent of rippling waters, paying homage to Canada's natural landscape. The museum features four permanent exhibition galleries, including the Grand Hall with towering totem poles, the First Peoples Hall, Canada Hall showcasing life-size recreations of historical settings, and Face to Face highlighting influential figures in Canadian history.
We had a fantastic time visiting this museum. The exhibits were thoughtfully curated, interactive, and visually stunning. Everything was well-organized, and we could tell a lot of care went into the presentation. Whether you’re into history, art, or just looking for something inspiring, this place is a must-see. Highly recommend it for all ages — we left feeling inspired and enriched.

We came here to learn more about the indigenous cultures of Canada and for the children's museum. They have a great set up here, we were able to go to the children's museum right after getting our tickets to wear out our daughter a bit before going to the main museum. The children's museum is really interesting, much more than we had expected. It is really great that they have so many interactive and educational displays about different cultures around the world. Following the path from Asia, to Egypt to Mexico was a lot of fun. They have the room to rent marbles and other things to build as well. Definitely a must stop if you have kids. After she got a bit of her energy out we went upstairs to see the main exhibits. The long hallway with the mirrors telling the stories of places around the country was really interesting, a bit tricky to read, but very unique. The layout to walk through is fantastic. Walking through history from the indigenous communities, to the invasion from the French and British, to the modern day is so well laid out. Not too many interactive displays to keep our daughter entertained, but just enough. It was absolutely fascinating to basically walk through the history of Canada. Going downstairs to the great room/hall was incredible, the totem poles are enormous. Getting to see them in person and read about how the people carve them out was really impressive. I'm really glad we made the trip here and feel we got our money's worth.

What a great museum! I learned so much about Canadian history, with loads of surprises (and fun interactive features) throughout. I loved the layout, where on one side you wind through the history of Canada from ancient First Peoples to modern times. I loved learning about early French Canada and seeing Rocket Richard’s jersey. The other part of the museum was a massive First Peoples exhibit with buildings, totems and modern artwork. Super impressive. This museum was a great visit and would be perfect for families too.

I love this museum. There was so much to learn. It is so creative with its presentation and so informative too. Everyone must experience this and the war museum. We have so much to learn from the past. This museum made me feel connected to the people and their successes and struggles. The story of people migrating to Canada from different countries for different reasons. Anybody visiting Ottawa should definitely not miss this.

I took my kids to the Canadian Museum of History and had a fantastic time. The whole place is well-kept, clean, and thoughtfully designed for families. There are plenty of clean bathrooms (always a plus with kids), a cafeteria, and even vending machines for quick snacks. The highlight for us was definitely the Children’s Museum inside — my kids absolutely loved it. It can get a bit crowded and overwhelming during the summer holidays, but still totally worth it. I’ve also been during the school year and found it much calmer. We also explored the main history exhibits, which offer a fascinating look at both old and modern Canadian history. Beautiful displays, engaging content, and something for all ages. Highly recommend it for a fun and educational day out!

🏛️ Canadian Museum of History A museum that feels less like “reading plaques” and more like walking through Canada’s story. The Grand Hall is stunning — totem poles, Indigenous art, and that sweeping window view of Parliament. Exhibits span everything from First Peoples to pop culture, with immersive setups that pull you in. Kid-friendly zones that don’t feel like an afterthought. Visitors tip: Start at the top floor and work down for the best flow — but expect crowds in the Grand Hall. Bottom line: A beautiful, layered look at Canada that sticks with you.

Great place to visit, especially when the weather isn't great. Free coat check, a kids museum to let the littles run wild, and such an expansive collection of early Canadian history! I was also impressed with the very unique artifacts and the museum's commitment to return certain items or not display based on the requests of Indigenous groups.

Very well laid out main exhibits and you're able to go at your own pace depending on your group. Younger children will enjoy the great hall and the children's museum side of things. Cafe on site with a good selection of snacks and great views from the gardens

Sitting atop Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the Library of Parliament is a stunning architectural gem that dates back to 1876. This historic building serves as a hub for information and research for the Parliament of Canada. Visitors can explore the Centre Block and marvel at treasures like the House of Commons and the library itself. Guided tours offer an opportunity to ascend the 92.2-meter Peace Tower for panoramic views of the city.
You get to see the library as part of a free tour of Parliament. It is very beautiful, you get a few quiet minutes to take some photos. It is a good tour.

The National Gallery of Canada is one of the gems that Ottawa has to offer. It's a world class gallery that should be on your list of places top visit when in the Nation's Capital. The facility is modern, spacious, well-staffed and has all the amenities you'd expect from one of the largest art museums in North America. With more than 93,000 works of art, as a permanent collection, you're in for a journey around the world enriching your sight and soul with European, American, Asian, Canadian and Indigenous artwork. I highly recommend adding the National Gallery of Canada to your list of must-visit places in Ottawa. You won't regret it.

The National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa is definitely worth a visit. The architecture is stunning, and the atmosphere feels calm and welcoming. You can find everything from famous Canadian artists to thought-provoking modern art, plus the amazing Indigenous art collection. It’s a place where you can spend hours exploring and always discover something new. I have been there two times but still feel i haven’t seen the full.

A beautiful building with convenient parking on site and small coffee shop in the building. 2 floors of art mainly contemporary, indigenous and European art. You will need at least 2-3.5 hours to finish. Very spacious. Clean bathrooms and nice staff.

The National Gallery of Canada was excellent, with loads of Group of Seven, indigenous, and other Canadian artists, plus lots of European artists too (including a well-thought-out wall of Van Gogh’s progression as an artist). The restaurant inside is great as well, with lots of ready-made and made-to-order options.

A must-visit for art lovers and anyone visiting Ottawa. The grand, high-ceilinged architecture and automatic doors left us in awe, making the exhibition space feel even more elegant and enjoyable. It took us about 2–3 hours to explore the entire building and exhibitions. The museum features an excellent collection of contemporary, Indigenous, American, and European artworks and installations. It also offers a beautiful view of Parliament Hill. Inside, you will find a cafeteria, a café, a library, and a gift shop.

Such a beautiful gallery with a WIDE variety of art styles and artists, from contemporary to european to indigenous artists! It was only 2 stories but the floors were MASSIVE. We spent 2-3hrs but defo would’ve spent more if we visited every single room. It has a massive open window panel so the natural light is super beautiful on a sunny day. Would definitely recommend!! There’s also a summer promotion going on right now, so I definitely wouldn’t miss it.

Many wonderful exhibits to see - I always find contemporary art interesting. With that being said, the Canadian art is what I enjoy the most. Plenty of excellent examples from the group of seven and indigenous artists. Be sure to visit the Rideau Chapel while you’re there. Absolutely stunning.

The Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Historic Site of Canada, is a must-see destination connecting Ottawa to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River at Kingston. In the summer, visitors can witness Parks Canada staff operating the locks manually to allow boats through and enjoy walking, running, and cycling along the popular pathways. During winter, the Rideau Canal Skateway offers the world's largest skating rink according to Guinness Book of World Records.
Great experience. There are lots of entry points and there is a lot of room for people with all different skill levels. There were areas that were a bit rough, thought it would be smoother, if you stay in the middle it's good. There are benches and cubbies to leave your boots, but they are left in the open you have to use at your own risk. I used a backpack to bring mine with me. Definitely a great time!

It’s a canal of historic importance to Canada. There’s not much to do about it though, especially if it’s not frozen for skating. And I was only really able to get subpar pictures from the sides

Tourist in ottowa ! You need to see this . This is a place you want to see in summers and in winters. The vibe here is very nice - full atmosphere for a family outing plus amazing food options by the street . The walk around canal is amazing , you can take a walk by water , by the canal , you can walk over bridge to Quebec. Whole area is scenic and beautiful. You can also go for a run or ride a bike here . Additionally - these all places in Rideau Canal area are pet friendly too . So you can go for a walk with your pets on amazing trails . The o my struggle you may face is parking - which you can find if you drive around for 2-3 mins . Overall , this is the place to start your day in ottowa as a tourist and your day will pass by itself . If you are interested you can see when canal goes down and how water is balanced too.

It was an interesting tour, we learned some history. They use an electric boat. The way it's built does not allow you to enjoy the view, the seats face each other. Our guide had a good sense of humor, kept making jokes. There's is a toilet and bar on board.

Looking for the ultimate Ottawa experience? The Rideau Canal is a must-see, no matter the season! This UNESCO World Heritage Site winds through the heart of the city, offering a picture-perfect backdrop for every kind of adventure. In the warmer months, set sail on a boat cruise, cast a line for some fishing, or simply stroll or cycle along scenic pathways-don’t forget to pack some snacks for the ducks and enjoy a picnic by the water. When winter arrives, the canal transforms into the legendary Rideau Canal Skateway-the world’s largest naturally frozen ice rink! Glide across 7.8 kilometers of sparkling ice, warm up with a hot chocolate, and treat yourself to a classic BeaverTail pastry from one of the many stands along the way. If you’re visiting during Winterlude, Ottawa’s iconic winter festival, you’ll find the canal buzzing with music, art, and family-friendly fun, including giant snow slides and dazzling ice sculptures. Insider tip: Many of Ottawa’s top attractions-like Parliament Hill, the National Gallery, and the bustling ByWard Market-are just steps from the canal, making it easy to blend sightseeing with your outdoor adventures. Whether you’re walking the dog, skating with friends, or savoring local eats at cozy canal-side restaurants, the Rideau Canal is the place to be for unforgettable memories all year round!

Must visit place when in Ottawa. Boat ride or cycling whatever you prefer is a good way to spend time around the canal. There are not many places to park so look for parking options.

This is a 202 km long canal linking the Ottawa River in Ottawa to Lake Ontario in Kingston. It was constructed between 1826 to 1832 and includes 46 locks, raising boats 83 metres upstream to Rideau Lakes & lowering 50 metres back down to Kingston. The Rideau Canal is a UNESO World Heritage Site and considered to be the best preserved 'slackwater' canal in North America. You can view locks 1-8 directly from Plaza Bridge. This is a great spot for picture taking and to look at the mechanics of the canal from up close. Really neat bit of sightseeing in the the city centre of Ottawa, convenient to include along with intended attractions around Parliament Hill.

The Canadian Museum of Nature, housed in a striking Scottish baronial-style building, offers an engaging exploration of natural history. Situated just a short walk from Parliament Hill, this historic museum features permanent galleries showcasing fossils, insects, mammals, birds, and more. Visitors can also enjoy interactive activities and special exhibitions. Notable additions include the Canada Goose Arctic Gallery and the Northern Voices Gallery, offering insights into the Arctic region and perspectives from Northern communities.
You need to give yourself plenty of time to check everything out. We were there for 4 hours and could have stayed longer. You are allowed to leave and go back in. So you can go grab at bite to eat if you want. There are elevators it is 4 stories high. The amount of fossil displays are awesome. They have beautiful displays of wildlife from birds to Polar bears. It wasn't bad in price 58 dollars for 2 adults and a child with the Butterfly exhibit interactions My son who is 35 enjoyed it just as much as my 6 year old granddaughter.

I recently visited the Canadian Museum of Nature and had an amazing time. The museum is well-organized, informative, and filled with fascinating artifacts and exhibits that appeal to both adults and kids. Each section offers something unique-from ancient fossils and minerals to wildlife displays and Indigenous stories that beautifully capture Canada’s natural history. What stood out most was how well the information is presented-clear, engaging, and easy to follow. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into curating each exhibit. The building itself is stunning, with a perfect blend of history and modern design. Overall, it was a fun, educational, and enriching experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Ottawa or simply curious about the wonders of nature!
Odion A — Google review
I visited the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa not long ago, and overall it was a memorable experience — especially for anyone interested in natural history, fossils, and wildlife. The museum is housed in the stately Victoria Memorial Museum Building, which combines heritage architecture (stone, stained glass, carved details) with modern touches like a glass central tower added during renovations. Walking through the galleries, you move through diverse themes: fossils and dinosaurs, mammals, birds, geology, marine life, and Arctic environments. The Fossil Gallery was a highlight — seeing dinosaur skeletons and ancient marine creatures up close gives you a tangible sense of deep time. The Bird Gallery and Mammal Gallery also impressed me with their detailed dioramas and species variety. I appreciated how many exhibits include interactive or “hands-on” elements: the “live” insect / invertebrate displays, touch stations, and immersive storytelling exhibits add energy to the space. Also, temporary and feature exhibits (such as The Man Who Planted Trees) offer fresh perspectives and variety beyond the permanent galleries. On the downside, when I was there the noise level rose in busier rooms, especially with children in tow, which made some exhibits harder to absorb fully. I also found that a few sections seemed slightly dated or in need of refreshment to maintain visitor engagement. I spent around 2½ to 3 hours exploring. For a casual visitor that’s enough to see the highlights; for someone keen on pausing at every exhibit, more time is justified. Overall, the museum offers a rich, educational, and often moving experience. If you’re in Ottawa, it’s absolutely worth a visit.

The butterfly flight was definitely the highlight-such a magical and calming experience! 🦋 Loved how friendly and welcoming the staff were throughout the visit. I just went today to go to the laid exhibits...the butterfly exhibit and the immersion "The Man Who Planed Trees" exhibit. Both were amazing. I will be going back in a few days to see all the free exhibits. The museum is amazing! All the staff were very friendly and helpful! I can't wait to see the rest of it!

I had so much fun at the museum. It wasn’t what I expected but exceeded my expectations for sure. Buying the tickets online makes your life so much easier. We were able to sign up to both the butterflies and man + trees exhibitions and it was surreal. I honestly would recommend it to everyone to have those visits this summer before it ends because it was so much fun. Take a look at the photos and videos below for more context and a sign for you to pay those tickets and see for yourself
Valentine B — Google review
There were some aspects of the museum that were incredible and very interesting such as the dinosaur exhibit and the blue whale, however some of the rooms were not very interesting or well done. There were some rooms that felt thrown together just to fill space such as the tree and arctic exhibits that was a quick walk through, but it is worth visiting for the other exhibits. It is easy to just go up and buy tickets so no need to buy in advance.

A great family experience. We especially enjoyed the butterfly exhibit my daughter (3) loved walking around with them fluttering around and landing on her, it was a small exhibit but very impactful. Mountain Orchards is a popular apple farm located near Kemptville, Ontario, and is easily accessible from various nearby cities. Visitors can enjoy a scenic 30- to 45-minute drive from Morrisburg, Kanata, Smiths Falls, Brockville, or downtown Ottawa. It's also just an hour's drive from Gatineau (Quebec), Arnprior, and Cornwall. The orchard offers a delightful experience for families and apple enthusiasts.
Had a wonderful Sunday on our visit to the Mountain Orchard apple farm. Easy to find coming from Arnprior. Just off 416 Winchester exit. Took us about an 1hr total. Correct directions from Google. We had a good drive, lots of parking upon arrival. Very well laid out. And marked parking. It was opening weekend so very busy. Porta potty for visitors. Just to beaware no indoor washrooms. They have two tractors to take you up and back down to and from the orchards. Only had smitten little yellow type apples to pick. We enjoyed all activities on the farm at no cost to you! Only for apples, and treats. We went through the corn maze, and picked our apples. It was $27.50 for a small bag. But you can fill to the max! Super worth it, over 50 apples. We have lots to bake and gave some away to family n friends. They are so fresh, sweet and crispy. Very delicious apples. We try to go every year but hadn't been back in 5 years. So we took advantage of our visit. Got their apple cider mini donuts as our reward for all that picking. They were melt in your mouth hot and buttery. Just a delightful treat. Cinnamon and sugar coated awesomeness. Omg, sweet apple cider is refreshingly good! Had to take that home to try too. Believe me, you will want too. Very nice day, no rush just relaxed family outing. Had fun picking apples, taking some fun photo memories, as well as enjoying being outside. Couldn't have asked for a better day. Go through a corn maze, play at the park, jump in the hay (well the little ones) and explore the trails in the forest. You can relax and have a family pinic. They do have hot dogs, sauages, ice cream at the canteen. Lots of seating areas to just sit and be still. Be outside and enjoy the farm 🚜. We will be back for Honeycrisp apples in a couple weeks. See you soon.😊

Visited this apple orchard recently and had such a great time! The place is well-maintained, with plenty of trees full of fresh, juicy apples to pick. The staff were welcoming and helpful, giving us tips on which areas had the best apples. The atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for a family outing—kids especially loved running around and picking their own apples. They also had a little farm store with fresh cider, baked goods, and jams, which made the visit even better. Prices were reasonable, and the overall experience felt very authentic and fun. Definitely worth visiting during apple season, whether you’re going with family, friends, or even just for a relaxing day outdoors.

Mountain Apple Orchards 🍎 We had such a great family day at Mountain Apple Orchards with our two kids (11 and 4 years old). No tickets or reservations needed, which makes it really easy to plan a visit. The farm was absolutely packed today - almost every parking spot was full, but that just shows how popular this place is! The tractor ride was a big hit with our kids, they loved every minute of it. We originally came for Honeycrisp apples, but the trees were already picked clean since it was only the second day of the season. That tells you how much everyone loves this farm! Luckily, we were still able to buy Honeycrisps at the farm store, along with other varieties like McIntosh. The corn maze was another highlight — our kids had a blast, and even my husband turned into a big kid playing hide and seek with them. Such a fun memory. The farm store had lots of goodies like donuts and other treats, but the lineups were pretty long, so we decided to save that for next time. Overall, it was a really fun day out with the family. Yes, it was busy, but that’s part of the atmosphere during apple season. We’ll definitely be back again! 🍏🍎🍂

One of the absolute best things to do in Fall! Beautiful orchards, delicious apples, fun for the whole family. They have tractor rides, a large corn maze, and various other activities for kids. The mini donuts are delicious as well!

A great local business and operation! Tons of stuff for your kids to do, amazing warm apple cider (or cold), butter tarts, donuts made on the spot and other apple based products. There is no admission fee and you can walk the whole place or take a wagon ride to and from the orchard. There is a corn maze and a quiet, beautiful forest hiking trail. It was short, sweet and we highly recommend this location to anyone looking to do something during the September or fall weekends !
Chris C — Google review
Great place to bring the kids. I took a group of seniors. Some used walkers and was easy to get around. Even have wheelchair accessible portable toilets. Loved the fresh cooked donuts.
Michael C — Google review
Upon arriving there is a choice of plentiful free parking on either side of the road and no admission fees. Arrived hungry? No problem. There’s a sausage and hotdog stand as well, apple donuts that may be purchased, pies, cider, etc. It appears they have thought of everything. Well facilitated with outdoor washrooms and bags for pets poop. You can choose to walk to the orchards or wait for a free wagon ride to and from. On the way, you’ll pass a sheltered playground housing bails of hay the kids play on and past that will be a corn maze. There are benches along the way as well as more washrooms and dog bags. Lots of picnic tables at the food stand and closer to the wagon drop off. You can easily spend a couple of hours on a weekend outing. We go every year!

We love going to this orchard. It is a yearly tradition we started with our kids whe they were small. Now they are young adults and we keep going. Wagon ride is still fun. We bring a picnic lunch abd always buy the apple flavored doughnuts and the apple cider is a must

We came here to use our ASTC Passport. The staff was friendly, handed us a map and told us about the demonstrations that they were going to be doing over the next couple hours. This place is really large and they have a lot of planes, helicopters, and a few ground based vehicles. It can get quite loud since everything echoes in this massive warehouse. Most of the displays are static displays that you will pause to read. A lot of really interesting aviation history going back over 100 years. I was a big fan of the display regarding the engines used in planes. Their kid section is pretty small, so it can get crowded and chaotic. They did have a great demonstration for the kids and adults about how to land a plane. Being able to sit in a cockpit really makes you appreciate what fighter pilots go through. Overall it is a really interesting museum with a lot of interesting planes. It's not really a place I would bring a younger child as there isn't much for them to do and interact with. If you have time to walk and read this is a good place to go.

From rugged civilian bush planes that tamed the northern territories to powerful military jets and prototypes, the range is remarkably diverse. A standout feature, and one that makes this museum truly world-class, is the exceptional collection of World War One aircraft. This display offers a rare and tangible connection to the earliest days of aerial combat, making it a must-see for history buffs. Beyond the atmosphere, the museum also dedicates significant space to Canada's role in space exploration, providing a fascinating look at the technology and artifacts used in orbit. The Essential Special Tour For those looking to deepen their experience, a strong recommendation is to get a viewing of the special tour of the building located next door. This lesser-known addition offers an unforgettable glimpse behind the scenes, providing context and access that elevates the entire visit. It is well worth the extra time and effort. Practical Details for Your Visit The museum has thoughtfully considered the needs of all its guests. It is fully handicapped accessible, ensuring everyone can navigate the vast exhibit space comfortably. Visitors will also find a pleasant cafeteria on-site for refreshment and a well-stocked gift shop for souvenirs. An important note for service members and their families: Military Personnel and Veterans are granted free admission. This is a wonderful gesture that honors their service and makes this valuable piece of history accessible. Finally, with so many photogenic aircraft and compelling displays, make sure you bring a camera to capture the scope of this incredible aviation assembly.

Very reasonable price and family friendly. Not too big for a visit with little children. Additional hall to visit with a guide available, can be booked while your visit. The crafts program was open and offered a very cute project. Nice play area in the middle of the excebition hall. Lots of interactive exhibits. Cafeteria with cold drinks and sandwiches.

Fantastic experience for all ages! The museum features an impressive collection of aircraft, helicopters, and space artifacts, showcasing Canada’s rich aviation and space history. The displays are well-organized with interactive elements and plenty of information. Great for kids and adults alike. Plan for 1.5–2 hours to explore comfortably. A fun and educational visit!

Lovely day trip out to Ottawa yielded a trip to this place. It was around 20$ CAD Per person, my duration of stay was about 2 hours but it could've easily been three. Lots of cool history here to see, and there's a helicopter ride you can take. Also there's a fighter Simulator but it wasnt open that day for us. Aviation buffs this is a must visit in your life time.

What a great experience this was! So much information and so many planes! Definitely make sure you are there for one of the $8 1hr tours of the hangar, a great bonus for the value!
Nick — Google review
Starts at the story of human desire to fly and then covers the early years, world war 1, and 2, cold war, bush and early commercial planes and then covers early space flights, space shuttles, international space station. An extensive collection of planes, artifacts, history of airports and ground communication with planes. Tribute to Canadian ingenuity (CanadaArm). its astronauts, and innovations attributed to Canada. Can spend over 4 hours going thru each and every display/exhibit. Lots for kids to explore. Another hangar (which i did not visit) has an immense collection in storage that they rotate out from the main exhibit. One can pay a small additional fee to see that as well. If you like aviation and space. A must visit while in Ottawa

Peaceful surroundings. Clean lake with soft sand. The facilities are new and well equipped. Free rentals of canoes, kayaks and pedalos for card carrying locals. I try to come here every weekend in the summer. We’ve seen deer, eagles, birds, frogs, lily pads, and dragonflies. Life guards monitor lake, and bbq areas have charcoal pits available. Super family friendly. ❤️❤️❤️

Small and the water is not very clean. Nice set up, kids area lots of parking . Close rot the city few trails that are boring. I didn’t really like it much the beach is small .

One of the best places for a walk or cycle in Gatineau that's not within Gatineau Park. Plenty of easy trails for mountain biking for those with less experience and plenty of walking space, with the chance of encountering deer as you walk. Unfortunately there can be broken glass here and there, and some patches of poison ivy so be mindful of straying off the trails.

We visited the place twice, two days apart. We loved the trails, both O/T1/T2 with hills fun for kids to tackle, and a long loop on E, which is mostly flat. The rental gear was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Stanley's Olde Maple Lane Farm

Sights & Landmarks
Stanley's Olde Maple Lane Farm, located in the Ottawa area, has been producing maple syrup since the 1800s. It is a popular springtime destination offering all-you-can-eat pancakes, French toast, and waffles at affordable prices. Visitors can enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides and witness sap-to-syrup production at the sugar shack.
Went here just this past weekend and it was lovely! Had the pancake breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! Very filling and worth the price to share a lovely meal with friends and family. They have an old rustic traditional sugar shack that they make their syrup out of and I find it extremely charming, especially as I love learning about historical things. The guy who was there making the syrup and demonstrating for us was a very informative individual and very engaging. I loved getting the chance to observe some of the new baby animals on the farm in one of their barns! The barn itself is quite charming and rustic which ties into the historical value of the property itself. It reminds me of when I would spend some summers on one of my family friends farm as a kid. Staff are well informative and always present while guests are observing the animals. The new red and white baby cow was adorable! Same with the little lambs. Definitely a great place to take your kids as walking to and from buildings isn’t too long of a walk so less chance of little legs getting tired and very stroller accessible too. And of course they had maple syrup taffy which is the one thing I always look forward to having during sugar bush season. :)

Our family was just so excited to have visited. The staff were exceedingly kind, willing to share and answer questions about the history of the farm, and very knowledgeable and friendly. The price was very appropriate for the experience. Great price for breakfast and great attractions for the door price. The kids loved it and the whole family was thrilled.

It has only been a few days since our wedding at Stanley's, but I just couldn't wait to post a review. We are so incredibly grateful for the staff at Stanley's, our wedding was perfect! Francis helped us every step of the way, making the whole planning process easy and stress free. The venue was stunning, the food was delicious, the décor was beautiful, and the staff were welcoming, professional, and efficient. Our day-of coordinator, Sophie, was such a sweetheart! She was always checking in on us to make sure we were doing well and brought us food and drinks throughout the day/night. The bonfire was a huge hit and so was the late night snack - pierogis! We used a lot of recommended vendors and their familiarity with the farm made the coordination seamless. I would highly recommend Stanley's to anyone and everyone. Thank you for everything! We had an amazing day at Stanley Olde Maple Lane Farm yesterday! My husband and I took our two girls, and it was an experience we won't soon forget. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a delightful array of farm animals, and our daughters were thrilled to see some newborns up close. The highlight of our visit was definitely the sugar shack, where we learned about the fascinating process of making maple syrup. While I was hoping to see some real buckets filled with sap or a maple tree tapped with a bucket for a more authentic experience, we did spot some decorative buckets that added charm. We also enjoyed a fun tractor ride and were in awe of the ginormous horses on the farm! To top it all off, we stopped at the stonehouse to purchase some delicious amber maple syrup, cookies, and candies. The weather was perfect, and we made the most of it, taking plenty of pictures and creating wonderful memories as a family. I highly recommend visiting this farm for a fun and educational day out!

We had a wonderful experience celebrating our wedding at Stanley's in September 2025. The venue and grounds are beautiful and the Stanley's team was great to work with. Special shoutout to the wedding coordinator Francis, who made the planning process seamless, and our day-of coordinator Sophie, who really took care of us on the day. Our wedding was 10/10 and we've only gotten amazing feedback from guests about the food and experience. I hope to attend a wedding here as a guest in the future!

Went here on Easter Sunday with my in-laws from England to show them some Canadian tradition. Overall, it was a nice day but more suited to kids than 4 adults looking to learn more about maple syrup production… $10 per person is steep for what you get. We also were hoping to take advantage of the walking trails but there were all closed. Food was nice but expensive for the quality.

Nestled just a short drive from downtown Ottawa, the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum is a delightful journey back in time to the early 20th century. This expansive 100-acre site showcases an impressive collection of meticulously preserved buildings, including a charming general store, a quaint schoolhouse, and a rustic farmhouse. While many visitors flock to its outdoor spaces for picturesque photography opportunities, don’t overlook the unique indoor settings that offer authentic period-style backdrops perfect for capturing historical-themed moments.
The Vintage Village of Lights was beautifully done, not to mention very reasonably priced ($26/group of up to 6 people). We made our way around all the buildings, as well as the illuminated walking path, in about an hour. Lineup to see Santa was minimal, staff used a number system to keep track of who was next in line. We saw some leather making, woodworking, and printing in progress. We finished off with a snack at the cookie decorating station.

EDIT: I don't want to wrongly blame anyone, but I got nails in my tires most likely while parking here (they had event parking in a grass field, in addition to their unpaved lot/road). Really nice as an event venue. The collection of heritage buildings is mid; but it's nice to attend an event there and stroll through the buildings when you need a few mins to relax.

Imagine stepping into a village frozen in the era of the 1920s-30s, a nostalgic time capsule waiting to be explored. Surrounding you are vintage homes, each piece of furniture echoing stories of a bygone era. The local press, school, carpentry, farm, garage, workshop, and church are pristine representations of that period. As you stroll, the townsfolk, draped in period attire, go about their daily lives. The village is buzzing with anticipation, as craftsmen are busy preparing for Christmas. With the hum of a 1930s machine, the carpenter skillfully crafts lathes, carts, and delicate wooden trinkets. The press churns out notebooks and gift bags using a 1920s printer, while the forge produces exquisite iron gifts. It's not just a visit; it's a mesmerizing journey back in time. Doesn't that sound enchanting?

A great experience for just about everyone I happened to be in the area running some errands when I saw this lovely recreation of what used to be the town about 100-125 years ago. The buildings are in great condition, the docents are excellent and helpful, all decked out in period clothing, speaking about the life experiences of their characters! I was there almost at closing time, yet they took me over the places I was most interested in seeing such as the one room schoolhouse. We talked about lots of things, such as demographics served, teaching conditions, students lives, lifecycle of the building (which was an actual school, not a replica) and the events surrounding its closure. All in all, CHV is a very engaging place, and it is a great outing, whether you are taking your out of town guests, your children or you just want to learn more about life in ON as it was during the Agricultural Era. NB: Pictures were taking by me during my visit.

St-Albert Cheese Coop is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling between Ottawa and Montreal, making it the perfect gourmet stop in Eastern Ontario. This charming spot features a delightful restaurant, an inviting ice cream bar, and a lovely patio where you can relax. The friendly staff enhance your experience as you explore their impressive market filled with local goods, including their renowned cheese.
Great place to visit and eat, food was delicious, cheese curds were super fresh and the ice cream was some of the best I've had if not the best! The dairy they use for the ice cream and cheese is very fresh so everything tastes amazingly fresh! I will definitely be coming back! There's also the opportunity to see how they create the cheese curds and process it which is super cool!

Absolutely loved the cheese sticks and the ice cream! St-Albert Cheese Co-Op is such a fun and tasty stop. The cheese sticks were super fresh and full of flavor — definitely the best I’ve ever had. And the ice cream? Creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious. You can also watch the cheese-making process and shop for lots of local goodies. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

Absolutely loved my visit to St-Albert Cheese Co-op. Their poutine is outstanding- served with generous portions of gravy and fresh cheese curds that squeak with every bite, a true sign of quality. The curds were incredibly fresh, and the entire dish was perfectly balanced. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or taking a tour of the factory, this place is well worth the visit. Highly recommended for any cheese or poutine lover! They also have a gift shop and ice cream but I didn’t try any of those

If you are traveling between Ottawa and Montreal this is a must stop. It was great to see where the curds are made and how it is processed. A welcome stop off of the highway. The self guided tour is a nice touch since you can just come in and enjoy the entire facility. It is a cool spot with plenty to see inside and out, lots of seating and a very welcoming vibe. Good food, good ice cream, and a great market. The market was definitely my favorite spot with how many local goods they featured other than just their own dairy. The history of the place was fascinating and it was really great to actually watch the production floor putting out all of the delicious cheese. Of course, the highlight for our 4 year old daughter was the ice cream shop. Their service was super quick for food and ice cream.

Fries are unique, i liked them i see some didnt. Cheese too ofc. But i find it odd that you buy poutine from the poutine cheese people. And it barely has any cheese in it. I am here to buy a poutine with your cheese as the highlight not the minor/small component It shows frugality. Greed. Cheepness. Its very odd. Won't come back here. And won't buy your cheese at Costco again. When you go to factory locations of others brands for chocolate or other stuff. They are generous to reward yoy for driving an hour to visit them or more. Very dissapointing The gravy btw has a slightly bitterness to it. Like a bit overcooked. But this is personal preference and bias. Maybe that's the way it should taste here. So no problem. If the cheese was generous this would be a higher rating. Ciao

Best fresh burger! The cheese curds were fresh and delicious. Highly recommended. The ice cream was okay, but the gelato looked a bit melted

I've only been here once but it was obvious that St-Albert Cheese is an institution in eastern Ontario. Families flock here for dinner, long weekend trippers make this a dedicated pitstop, and folks looking for a cone after work are frequent. The vegetarian "Vegetastic" poutine (large) was massive and fantastic, as was the vanilla soft serve cone with butterscotch dip (large). Getting a bag of curds to-go was a must. Thank you St-Albert Cheese!

Best ball tournament for Ride For Dad. Course was great. Staff were fabulous. The food was so good.... wraps and home fries for breakfast. As a member this might be a biased review so read on but just be aware. This course is in great shape yet again this year and the maintenance staff is out every morning in force getting things ready for the day (I know as I am often in the first group off the tee). They have done an awesome job keeping up with the increased number of rounds this year. The track is very challenging in places and you need to be on your game to stay out of some trouble but for the most part if you play from the correct tees you will be in good shape. Tee Boxes and fairways are in good condition and greens are in great condition (now if only some of you would fix your ball marks). Greens are faster than avg and provide a nice challenge with some undulations and ridges. While this course is walkable there are many elevation changes and a few short steep climbs so if you are looking for an excuse to ride a cart this would be the reason. Over the past 2 years many of the ash trees have been dying off and while they cleaned up many trees last year they just can't seem to keep up and they have become a bit of an eye soar (a shame really). The course is a little east of Ottawa just off the 417 and is easy to access from the highway and I'm told the rates are reasonable given other courses in the area but as a mbr I don't pay green fees and really can't compare. Pace of play is much better in the morning than the afternoon but that is true about most courses. You can expect to play in 4 1/2 hrs on avg as a 4some anytime after 10am. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will do whatever they can to make your day enjoyable. If you get a slow day just take your time and enjoy the day.

Have golfed here many times and have always had a great time. Played a round this morning and was extremely annoyed with how many times the Marshall had come up to our group to tell us to speed up our pace of play. He came up to us 4-5 time throughout the round to tell us to speed it up or to try to catch the group in front of us. The group in front of us was carting and had finished the first hole when we tee’d off. We weren’t holding anyone up either, the group behind us was at least a hole behind us. We finished our round in 4hours and 8 minutes with a quick stop at the turn. Our whole group was annoyed and thought it to be quite excessive how frequently he spoke to us and was around us.

We come here to practice quite often. I love the practice greens! Would like to see more targets on the range and maybe a ball sweep/collector for the chipping green but I love practicing here! I tried the women’s only evenings they have each week and I had a lot of fun. The dinner they served after was spectacular and thoughtful! Also love the course as a beginner. I don’t find the greens too difficult and the fairways are what I would consider wider.

Nice course overall in good condition. Nice practice facilities as well. Greens had some interesting undulations which was fun to play. You can hear the highway from some holes which is a little unpleasant, but nothing they can do about that obviously. Unfortunately, like most public courses, pace of play was very slow.

Papanack Park Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums
If you're looking for a unique and engaging experience, Papanack Park Zoo is the perfect destination. This charming zoo offers an array of fascinating animals, including monkeys, snow leopards, lemurs, owls, and crocodiles. Visitors can immerse themselves in learning about various habitats and intriguing animal facts while enjoying interactive moments with friendly sheep, goats, and llamas that eagerly approach you.
I don't understand the hate some people are giving to this zoo. Either they are too sensitive or they are just not aware of how to conserve animals in captivity. I love zoos and I have visited many around the world. While this may not be like the San Diego Zoo or the Toronto Zoo, as a family-run business, this place is a treasure for young people and animal lovers like myself. First of all, the place is a small sanctuary. I visited all the animals, and it took me around 2 hours to enjoy everything. It was a very hot day, so I didn't want to stay outside for too long. The animals looked well-fed, the lions looked healthy, and most were sleeping, but two of the African lions appeared to be playing. I loved the gibbons; they were playing tag with each other, and experiencing zebras up close felt like being in an African safari. The most unique experience in this zoo is getting really close to the animals. Sanctuaries like the Toronto Zoo are heavily protected by barriers, so you never get the feeling of being close. However, in this zoo, you will feel the breath of each animal. The place was very clean and there was no crowd. The animals looked happy to me. There were lots of seating areas throughout the zoo, and they had playgrounds for children at every corner. The only complaint I have is that there was no map of the zoo, and in some parts of the zoo, the vegetation is becoming a bit long, so trimming would make it more attractive. Other than this, I loved the small place and it is a great getaway for kids. My suggestion is to give this place a try and see if you like it. I loved the natural feeling of visiting this zoo, it felt like I was back in Thailand or Africa.

Papanack was never an incredibly amazing zoo, but the last time I went, about 7 years ago, it was a lot nicer looking than it is now! When we walked in to pay, the woman working the cash was incredibly rude when speaking to us. My client has a disability, and this woman looked at us as if we were not wanted. She also couldn't understand why a group of 6 of us were paying separately instead of together. We are all adults... We weren't holding up any lines either because there was no one else in the store. However, what's the point in acting up like a Karen, right? Hopefully, she had the day she deserves. The paths were rocky, and the rocks were sharp! There was mud and uneven ground everywhere. Some of the pet enclosures look like they need to be redone. There is no picnic area anymore either. The poor animals were baking in the hot sun. What happened to shaded areas? One of the animals got out of their enclosure, and we told the lady at the front, and she said it always happens and not to worry about it... and the goats were putting their heads under the fence. They could definitely get stuck or hurt. I'm sad about how horrible it looks now.

We have loved visiting this zoo for years, making wonderful memories with our children and parents. It's a beautiful place where we've enjoyed seeing and learning about the animals, especially in the summer and fall. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was rather disappointing. About 30 minutes in, our young children became fussy. Understanding their needs, we asked the staff at the counter if we could leave to feed and nap them, then return later in the day. The person at the counter assured us that they would be there all day and that re-entry would not be a problem. When we returned an hour and some before closing—well within the zoo’s stated policy for last entry—we were denied re-entry by the same staff member who had earlier confirmed that we could return. We were surprised and disappointed by this inconsistency. We understand that policies are in place for a reason, but clarity and consistency are essential, especially for families with young children. A simple acknowledgment of the misunderstanding or a willingness to honor what was initially stated would have gone a long way. We hope this feedback helps the zoo improve its communication with visitors, as we have many fond memories here and would love to see it continue to be a welcoming place for families.
Aida A — Google review
I don’t know why this place is still even running, to even call this place a “zoo” is crazy. these animals are stuffed in wired fences with nothing but mud and sludge to walk around in, their “shelter” is literally just half assed wood huts & shipping containers. they have little to no entertainment or quality of life. not to mention how ugly this place is, driving by, it’s so ugly and it literally looks like someone ran to the hardware store, bought some chain wire fence and wood and locked some animals in their backyard. also just was extremely taken aback by the female lion that was locked in a SHIPPING CONTAINER with bars on it to keep her from getting out? this place is disgusting and id extremely encourage not letting them profit off of you and your children. we should not be giving these people any money, because even being open for YEARS they clearly haven’t used a penny of it to expand and give these animals a better life and environment. sickening to see that it’s even still up and running.

1. Availability of Maps: When I asked the front desk for a map of the place, I was informed that none was available. It would be very helpful to have a map at the front desk so visitors can take a picture of it with their cellphones to help navigate the area more easily. 2. Path Maintenance: The path to see the animals could use improvement. I suggest having at least 4 inches of gravel above ground level to prevent visitors' shoes from getting destroyed by muck, water, and slushy soil. 3. Quick Responses to Urgent Questions: There should be better efficiency in providing directions to essential facilities like washrooms. When I approached the front desk to ask for washroom directions, I had to wait for 5 minutes, which could have been answered in 2 seconds. This is particularly important as some visitors may have urgent needs. 4. Signage and Visitor Information: The signage for directions could be larger to improve visibility, especially for those who have difficulty reading from a distance. Additionally, it would be beneficial if the front desk staff provided a brief orientation, especially about the washroom locations, to every visitor during payment. 5. Washroom Facilities: There is a need for clean, well-maintained, and permanent washroom facilities on-site to ensure a comfortable experience for all visitors. Overall, these improvements would greatly enhance the visitor experience.

Animals are in a very poor condition, no food, no water for them to drink, super small spaces (the space is very poorly used.)we can feel and see how stressed they are. I do not recommend this place and I demand an inspection. This animals deserve to be well care.
Juliana R — Google review
Went today, yes some of the enclosures are small but what the hell do I know about their care, maybe they're just viewing enclosures and they're moved to other enclosures at different times. There seemed to be other much bigger enclosures that weren't accessible to the public. All of the enclosures we saw had little dens and lots of greenery for shade and to hide. As for water, I noticed a lot of natural source water. I thought the animals looked healthy, they were curious and interactive so they can't be that sad... ultimately it has greatly improved. There was also a bear and cheetah show where a handler was right there with the animals and the animals obviously loved her. I saw no signs of abuse. The cheetah was purring away and looked very healthy. Also there were people doing work on some of the enclosures. It's improving, and that's what matters. Portapotties were clean, gift shop is cute and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. My 8 year old and 6 year old had an amazing day out. Thanks Papanack!

Very nice small zoo. Ottawa should be grateful to have it. African animals section is amazing. Wolves are really huge and awesome. Most of active animals have enough space. Maybe only birds like parrots should have more space to fly inside. Lions, wolves, bobcats and other big mammals have big open spaces for running. In overall, the impression is good. In rainy weather wear boots because some roads can get a little muddy.

First time golfing here and really enjoyed it. The course was challenging but fun and it was in really good shape. Looking forward to returning. The carts are pretty high tech love that about them.
Tracy M — Google review
Beautiful course, great layout, recommended for players who have ball control or it could get expensive. Not too difficult but fun to play with some friends. Even by yourself. They don’t have a restaurant. But if you’re not looking to get food at the turn just bring some snacks. They have the booze cart with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, along with chocolate bars and other snacks. On the pricey side but it’s a golf course show me one that’s not pricey. I’ll definitely be back as it’s definitely a beautiful fun course to play
Brandon L — Google review
The course is beautiful, however their rain check policies are suspect ... not allowing a rain check after half an hour of rain and ongoing rolling thunder because the radar say the storm has passed is tacky...as is allowing 5 members on a hole. Our tradition has been broken. ... Very disappointed.
CA R — Google review
Great golf course, in excellent condition and challenging holes. Also nice elevation changes, a very pretty course. Unfortunately there is no restaurant to get something to eat after playing despite the beautiful large club house.
Jim H — Google review
I’ve been coming to this course for three years and always appreciated its well-kept grounds, excellent clubhouse, and enjoyable atmosphere. Unfortunately, my recent experience was ruined by an unprofessional Marshall. My friend and I (only two people left on the course) were on track to finish by the 9:05 cutoff as instructed, but at 8:45, the Marshall began following us, then abruptly told us to leave after accusing us of driving too close to the green—a claim that wasn’t true as we stayed on the rough / cart path the entire time. When I spoke with him to clarify, he changed his reasoning multiple times and became dismissive when I pointed out we still had 20 minutes left to finish our round. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, he sped past us recklessly on the road, reaching excessive speeds. It’s disappointing to pay a premium for such a respected course only to deal with this kind of unprofessional and hostile behaviour. Beautiful course, it’s 50/50 you enjoy your round depending on the Marshall that’s working. I’ll be contacting management hopefully tomorrow afternoon.

Like other comments about the overly excited marshal visiting an excessive amount of times. The course was fun, but the pressure by the marshal on keeping up with who? I looked at the time and we were more than on pace for 3 adults and an 11 year old. Like comments below, it put all of us in a negative spirit.
Victor M — Google review
One of my favourite courses. It's in great shape this year. Pace of play is a bit too slow at times as their time of 8 minutes between tee times is not enough. Also despite a sign saying pace of play is enforced, it is not true. A double-par limit should be observed by all players of every calibure to make it fair and enjoyable for all. Will go back anyway because the layout is superb.

Our first visit. Had a big loop of 4 km trail. Were lucky to get a beautiful view from look out point. Dogs are allowed. Make sure you bring some snacks and water when you go on a trail.

Amazing spot, an hour and a bit from ottawa, we went this weekend and it was not busy at all.. beautiful cabin with chairs and tables where you can sit indoor and rest. Washrooms, running water and a shower too! They have a nice out door seating with benches as well. We took trail number 7 which was about two hour for us, we were a big group with kids. It is not easy in a sense that there is lots of ups.. but the views are definitely rewarding. A great thih about this trails that you can drive up to the view point. One of our group couldn’t hike but she kept meeting us at the viewing point.
Hadia — Google review
Amazing hike! The mister at the reception was super helpful and explained to us which trails to take to have a good challenge. We took the trails 7 and 12 together, and the hike took us 3h to complete, exactly as the mister at the reception said! The entrance fee is 10$. Some parts of the trails were confusing, as we didn’t know which side to go to, and there were a lot of leaves on the ground, which makes it harder to see the trail. However, we just followed our gut, and there were a few signs here there with the number of the trail, or some red tape around a tree branch that lets us know we’re on the right track. The trail 7 was pretty easy, and we met a lot of people on the way, either to the Belvédère or the Tour d’observation. I think that’s the park’s most popular trail. The views were amazing. Right after the Tour d’observation, we took the trail 12 and that’s when we were alone in the woods (we did not meet anyone, except towards the end of the trail), and it felt so peaceful, with all the leaves on the ground and the trees with so many colourful leaves. There was one part, as the receptionist said, that’s really steep, and it gave us quite a challenge. I highly recommend the hike of the trails 7 and 12 to any hike enthusiast! I would definitely go back and try the other trails someday!

This park is about an hour drive from Ottawa. It's not very busy and the wavey and uphill trails made it very fun for me. However, I did think the trails were NOT labeled very well. Trail 7 was what we took and there were a number of times that we had to wander in the wrong direction because of the lack of signs. This is a bit surprising considering its $8 per adult to visit. While I enjoyed the trail, I wouldn't be going back due to the distance, short trails and entrance fee. If you need a change from trails you visit it may be worth checking out for you. 🙂

This hiking area is amenable with wide, well marked trails and lovely little chalets for staying over, as well as camping areas and lookouts.

Came here before when we would parc at the bottom and hike to the top. Now we drive to the top (gettin old) and enjoy the view from the tower. In the same evening we watched the sunset from the tower then walked to the other side of the mountain (1km) and watched the moon rise. Beautiful!

Pretty easy trails with admission fee of 10$ per adults. The signs are clear, not crowded.

Manoir Papineau National Historic Site is a historic estate that was home to the Papineau family from 1850 to 1929. The property, including the house, outbuildings, gardens, and grounds, is now open to the public and managed by Parks Canada. It commemorates Louis-Joseph Papineau, a prominent figure in Canadian politics.
Really enjoyed the tour of Manoir Papineau. We took the English and French tours because we had to split up, and the two tour guides did an amazing job. Worth visiting!
Andres L — Google review
We decided to visit the National, site but didn't realize it was closed during the winter as the driveway entrance was clear. We did read up on the history of the home and the family. Interesting fact of the distant relations of the Papineau and Trudeau family. Sharing some photos of the exterior.
Mark S — Google review
I enjoy visiting historical places like this. It wasn’t open in the moment because it was too early in the season but it was still interesting to walk the grounds and enjoy the scenery. I always imagine what it’s like to have lived in a house like this back in the day. Louis Joseph Papineau once lived here. He was a politician who helped the rebellion against the British government back in the day. 👍😎

Absolutely delightful staff; Jennifer ensured we had brochures and pamphlets with ever point of interest within 100km, and Sylvie showed us around the beautiful garden and l'orangerie which were in full bloom. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

Absolutely wonderful tour! Sarah was excellent and was very knowledgeable. Tours are available in both English and French and well worth the nominal entrance fees. The major renovations (long overdue) are amazing and I’d highly recommend spending some time here!!

Educational visit. Very pretty ground and Manor. Good guided tour through the house for about a half hour.
Natara A — Google review
A wonderful National Historic Site and well worth a visit. The Manor can only be visited through a guided tour, which I highly recommend. The 45-minute tour gives fascinating insights into the Papineau family, their bourgeois lifestyle in the 1800s and 1900s, and the history of the region. About 80% of the artifacts and furnishings are original, which makes the experience even more impressive. Beyond the Manor itself, there’s also a trail nearby that leads to the Fairmont Hotel or Montebello Village, perfect for extending your visit. Overall, a memorable experience and a must-see if you’re in Montebello.

Fromagerie Montebello, a charming boutique cheese producer in Quebec, has been delighting visitors since its opening in 2011. The small production facility not only crafts award-winning artisanal cheeses but also offers a delightful retail store showcasing the region's finest flavors, from maple syrup to honey, mustard, jams and jelly.
Very nice store! Lots of cheese choices. They also have a fresh deli and other items such as meats, wines, drinks, chocolates, cutting boards etc. There is a patio in the back to enjoy your fresh treats! We only bought the cheese curds and they were DELICIOUS! If you’re in the area, or just like us, if you see the sign on the highway, be sure to stop in! You won’t regret it!!

Delicious squeaky fresh made same day curd cheese which wasn't salty and tasted so good. We also bought Aged Cheddar Cheese 5 Year reserve and oh wow.... the little cheese crystals are very refined. No bitter taste. When we visited, it was past the summer visitor season so the snack bar eating area was closed. Nevertheless we visited for the cheese and it was well worth it. Took some videos for all to see.

What a delightful stop! 🧀✨ Fromagerie Montebello was one of those unexpected gems on our drive to Mont-Tremblant — the kind of place that instantly makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. The variety of cheeses and jams here is incredible! From rich, creamy local favorites to unique flavors, everything looked (and tasted) amazing. I especially loved the orange and pineapple jams — they were so delicious that I genuinely wished I’d sampled them earlier... I would have taken home a few jars of each! 🍊🍍 The gentleman behind the counter was wonderfully patient and knowledgeable, walking us through the different cheeses and helping us choose just the right ones. The shop itself has such a warm, welcoming vibe, full of local charm and authenticity. And then there’s the patio — a lovely spot overlooking the lake, perfect for enjoying a cheese board or just soaking in the peaceful surroundings. 🌿🧺 If you’re driving through Montebello, this place is an absolute must-visit. Great flavors, friendly faces, and a beautiful setting — a perfect little stop that captures the heart of Quebec hospitality. ❤️

Fromagerie Montebello is such a nice spot to visit! The cheeses are absolutely delicious and full of flavor. I also tried the coffee — it wasn’t extraordinary, but I still enjoyed it. What really made the experience special was the environment and the beautiful view. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the charm. A place worth visiting if you want to relax, enjoy good cheese, and take in the scenery.

I loved this place, I used to drive from Montreal and buy products there and sit in the patio and have lunch sometimes. I went Saturday and a little note at the door saying that the restaurant was closed. I got inside and asked the service woman there the rhetorical question: Is the restaurant closed, expecting a little conversation like “ Yeah, it’s closed for the summer and we are doing some renovations and stuff like that. The lady there noticed my French wasn’t perfect and answered, we got only cheese and sandwiches, and whispered to her coworker something like: why they are asking is written on the door, my son overheard. It looks like she was bothered and not very happy to be there. My daughter wanted to buy some cake and my wife some cheese, but I told them I wouldn’t spend a dollar in a place i don’t feel welcomed. It’s a shame, because I’m not going there anymore, only because of some poor service and unhappy employee.

Such a wonderful spot in Montebello! It has made our trip here! Kind and patient service, and super fresh and delicious cheese and bread. We really enjoyed everything we have purchased. All the staffs were kind and helpful. I highly recommend their bread with cheese and tomato sauce: the outside bread is crunchy, the tomato sauce has generous garlics in it; every bite was enjoyable! The squeaky cheese is the most squeaky one we have ever had! Again, very fresh and yummy.

Excellent choice of cheeses and condiments At this time of year the restaurant is closed but they still serve a good variety of sandwiches and beverages to eat in.

Fromagerie Montebello is a delightful stop for anyone visiting the region, especially for food lovers and photographers who enjoy capturing artisanal craft in action. This charming cheese factory specializes in locally produced cheeses, combining traditional techniques with a modern touch. The rustic setting, with wooden accents and open production areas, makes for excellent photographic opportunities—think golden wheels of cheese, staff at work, and the textures of aging cheese on racks. Visitors can watch the cheesemaking process firsthand, from curd to wheel, gaining insight into the craft while experiencing the rich aromas and flavors. The tasting area is equally inviting, offering a variety of cheeses that pair beautifully with local products such as honey, charcuterie, and fresh bread. For photographers, Fromagerie Montebello provides a mix of still-life and lifestyle opportunities. The warm tones of the cheeses, the craftsmanship on display, and the friendly staff create a welcoming environment to capture both detail shots and candid moments. It’s a small but memorable stop that combines culture, taste, and visual appeal, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring Montebello.

Nature & Parks
Omega Park is a nature park that offers a variety of activities for visitors. One of the main attractions is the opportunity to interact with wildlife, including feeding the animals up close. Visitors are advised to bring plenty of carrots for this unique experience. The park also features walking trails, picnic areas, and First Nations totems. Additionally, there are accommodations available such as cabins and tipis, providing an immersive experience in nature.
Parc Omega is truly one of the best wildlife safari parks in Quebec, Canada! From the moment we entered, it felt like stepping into a magical outdoor adventure surrounded by breathtaking nature and amazing animals. We drove through the wildlife safari trail and saw elk, bison, wolves, bears, and even arctic foxes up close—all in their natural habitat. The highlight for me was feeding the friendly deer and elk carrots right from the car window (don’t forget to bring a bag of carrots with you!). The park is very well-maintained, clean, and family-friendly. There are picnic spots, hiking trails, and even a wolf and bear observatory for those who want to explore on foot. The Parc Omega accommodations looked incredible too—staying overnight in a log cabin or glass dome with wildlife right outside must be such a unique experience. What I love most is that the park balances fun with education, teaching visitors about Canadian wildlife, nature conservation, and Indigenous history. It’s a perfect day trip from Ottawa, Montreal, or Gatineau and a must-visit for anyone looking for a Canadian wildlife experience. If you’re searching for a wildlife safari near Ottawa or Montreal, Parc Omega is the ultimate destination. Great for families, couples, photographers, and anyone who loves animals and nature. I can’t wait to come back in a different season to see how the landscapes and animals change!

We stayed one night in a pod in the village from a Sunday to a Monday last week and went through the park two days of our visit. Our family had a wonderful time. The pod was clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Our kids liked staying in the loft. Staff were friendly and provided clear information. We had our dinner by the campfire and were visited by many deer. Be sure to bring plenty of carrots for both driving through the park and for the visitors to your pod if you’re staying here. Highly recommend going to the morning wolf education session if you stay overnight. It was far less busy than the one we attended in the daytime within the park. The staff at the educational sessions were knowledgeable and answered our kids’ questions following the session. The animals here seemed well cared for and their enclosures were big enough that you might not necessarily see them all, for example to see the wolves you are likely best to attend one of the educational sessions where they come out to be fed. The elk you will most definitely see a lot of approaching your car for carrots which is very entertaining. We enjoyed the little trail around the trout pond. We hope to return again someday.

A Truly Unforgettable Experience at Parc Omega Parc Omega is a must visit for any animal lover! We stayed for two nights in one of the 1400 square foot chalets located in the wolf area, and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. The accommodations were spotless, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed,it honestly felt like a home away from home. We brought our own groceries from Metro and enjoyed cooking some delicious meals right in the chalet. It was the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. As for the Parc itself, it’s very well maintained and offers a great variety of animals to see up close. From elk and bison to arctic wolves, every encounter was memorable. The hiking trails were a nice bonus, peaceful, scenic, and a great way to stretch your legs after the drive-through portion. Overall, we highly recommend Parc Omega. It’s a unique experience that blends nature, wildlife, and comfort beautifully. We’ll definitely be back!

Love this park!!! The ticket is totally worth it! The views of the park itself is beautiful, very spacious. There are couple of stops that you can hike and enjoy the view, also some tables for picnic. The animals are well taken care of, they look happy and have enough space to run around.

it is one of the best safari parks I've ever been to - an amazing experience for all ages who love animals and nature. The whole park is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully divided into different zones for various animals, making each part of the drive exciting. Deer are basically everywhere, even right from the entrance! We arrived before 11am., and it was already packed with friendly deer eagerly waiting for carrots. But don't let them fool you - save your carrots, because there're plenty more deer throughout the park. Or you could buy carrots later in the shops in Zone 11. We brought about 10 pounds of carrots and found it best to cut them into halves or quarters so the smaller deer can eat easily. Zone 4 is where you can take a trail walk by the lake and we also went to Zone 11 to watch the wolf presentation, which was both fascinating and educational, and enjoyed some surprisingly good poutine at Zone 11,too. another quick tip : when you reach the first gate that says "Parc Omega", drive straight in - the ticket check comes afterward. If you're staying overnight, then you turn left at that first gate for the accommodations. It's truly a full-day adventure, and if your budget allows, staying in the Deer Cabin or Wolf Lodge makes it even more unforgettable.

Written in September. Wonderful place for kids. The animals come to eat right from the car. It's recommended to buy 2 large bags of carrots and bring them. It's worth buying tickets on Black Friday when the price is lower. The fall foliage was very beautiful- with a great short hike.
Yo S — Google review
I tried to buy tickets in advance for a discount, but the website was having issues. I ended up having to pay the regular price at the entrance. The park lets you feed deer which is a really funny experience. You can buy your own carrots at the supermarket for cheaper. There is a drive-through safari where the deers are and we also saw boars and bison. Some animals are caged in like the wolves, coyote, foxes, bears, wolverine, prairie dogs and horses. The arctic wolf enclosure wasn't visible due to construction work and the grey wolves werent near the lookout so we couldn't see them. The wolf presentation at 12pm didn't happen for some unknown reason. For a safari of this price, I find the variety of animals to be a bit lacking. Also, the cart ride to the farm was closed without notice, and people were lining up for 20 minutes just to be told it was closed. The farm only had alpaca, and the feeder was broken and ate a woman's coin. If not for the deer feeding part, it would've been a worse experience overall due to management issues.

As a first-time visitor to a park like this, I was amazed by how close and interactive the experience was. It’s a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and comfort. highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone who loves wildlife. it was absolutely unforgettable! Parc Omega is a self-drive wildlife safari located near Montebello, about an hour from Ottawa or Montreal. You drive through 12 km of beautiful landscapes forests, lakes, and open fields while getting incredibly close to Canadian wildlife. * You can feed deer and elk right from your car window bring your own carrots (lots of them). We also saw moose, bison, wolves, bears, and arctic foxes. * The park is open year-round and offers different activities each season like dog-sledding and snowshoeing in winter, or bird shows and walking trails in summer. * They even have unique overnight stays,glass-fronted cabins where you can sleep next to a wolf enclosure! * Family-friendly with picnic spots, a small farm, play areas, and well-kept facilities. Tips: * Arrive early to avoid the crowd and enjoy the peaceful environment. * Be cautious when feeding animals, some have large antlers and can bump your car. * Plan 3–5 hours for a relaxed visit and to explore both the drive and walking trails.

Was selling lavender boutique farm products here for the first time and loved the crowd and workers who were so considerate and thoughtful. This was the first annual Honey 🍯 festival. Can't wait for Sept 11, Sunday for the Harvest festival same place 🌻 Definitely worth a look see for both adults and children. Lots of old buildings to visit inside and see how people lived 150 years ago. Fun fact: no cell phones 😜

Great place to bring kids, lots to look at. They often have events happening here so give them a call to see what's coming up. I think you may be able to find it on a Facebook page too. Sometimes they have re-enactments of battles and people dressed up in period pieces and camping/ cooking over fires. It is by donation and they have "treasure hunt" games for kids.

Lovely museum to attend. There are also many events that take place here. Check their website for the list of events as there is usually something every month. The first ever Honey Fair was held here. It was really interesting, speakers talked about various topics, different honey was for sale. Many other vendors were on the grounds. An entry fee of $10 per person or $25 per family. Museum members get a discount. No charge for parking. Many friendly volunteers made this event happen.
