Twelve Oaks Mall

Shopping mall
Shopping
Spacious shopping center featuring a wide variety of upscale retailers, restaurants & events.
An upscale, clean, and easy to navigate mall with all the usual mall stores along with some you wouldn't expect, and more! This mall is 2 stories with nearly every storefront occupied. You'll find all your favorite stores here, along with a dozen different food options in and around the food court. This mall represents what every mall should strive to be like to survive the world of online shopping.
Alex B — Google review
Still one of the best mall in Detroit area and probably in Michigan. All the store is open, plenty of food options too. Haven't heard about any crime in 12 oaks for years so it is safe. Dicks is going to build a sport emporium in the old Sears vacant area, that will be exciting for locals.
FriedChicken — Google review
I absolutely miss how twelve oaks used to be before COVID pandemic. All those brands and crowd we saw as kids are gone. Well i hope it comes back to life!
Kanwal U — Google review
This is a great mall! I have been coming here since the 90s and I once worked here. They are often adding new stores. There is a variety of stores from high end to affordable here. They have a food court, and also many restaurants sprinkled throughout. There will soon be some entertainment options such as a bowling alley. Stores such as Spencer's make this a great place to shop for young adults and teenagers.
Oliver W — Google review
This place is great for those who love shop several type of things since departmental stores until great restaurants. The best thing here is they have plenty of Michigan's souvenirs starting by the famous and delicious MICHI-GUMMIES and more. This mall is constantly renovating, super organized and clean. As early you can stop by will be better because of parking lot. Variety, nice and clean !!
Lilia — Google review
I visited Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, Michigan, and had a wonderful time. The mall is clean, modern, and well-maintained. There are over 180 stores, including popular ones like Macy's, Nordstrom, and JCPenney . I found a wide variety of shops to choose from, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food court offers plenty of dining options, making it easy to grab a meal during shopping. Overall, it's a great place to spend a day shopping and relaxing.
Moh'd H — Google review
It's nice to see that some places like this still exist. It is well kept on the inside, the outside looks a little rough but not too bad. It is quite large. Lots of options for stores. It'd be nice to see something a little more fun or unique inside like maybe some hobby shops or something, but it is still a nice Mall to check out. It is multi-floor has a glass elevator, good food court that still sells food. That's a plus
Mick D — Google review
My Daughter Always Has To Stop By California Pizza Kitchen. She loves the original BBQ Chicken Pizza. Twelve Oaks Mall is 1 of my Favorite Malls. Cheese Cake Factory is another reason. Great Atmosphere and Always A Great Shopping, Lunching Experience with my Family. Always a pleasant shopping experience.

Movie theater
Concerts & Shows
Theaters
Large cinema offering a cocktail bar, reserved seating & roomy, leather seats for new releases.
It was my first time at a movie theater like this, and I really enjoyed it. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the reclining seats were oh so comfy. And the movie experience itself was awesome!
Kathy F — Google review
Always nice to go to the movies as a treat. Took my kids and they loved the comfortable seating and snacks. Snacks seem to always go up in price so I can't knock the theater for staying with times but I did love how they had the Nacho bar and display of candy. Looked very neat and clean.
Lisa D — Google review
Very good theater. Great adjustable seats that elevate feet. Great screens & excellent sound system. Large theater with an IMAX screen for certain movies. There is a full bar for liquor or beer drinks. Snacks. My favorite day is "Popcorn Tuesday" All movies are $5.00 except for a 3D movie, not sure about the IMAX. If you signup to be a FREE rewards member you get a nice size free popcornon on Tuesday. You can pay a dollar more to upgrade to a larger size. Many different movies to choose from.
Bonnie K — Google review
Staff was super friendly and were quick with the entire process of getting us checked in and where to go…tickets prices even for later shows were very reasonable! Even surprised the concessions were fairly reasonable as well…overall an amazing experience would definitely come again!
The S — Google review
If you’re an Emagine rewards member, movies are $5 on Tuesday, and you get a free small popcorn. It’s an affordable way to take my kids to the movie, even if I let them get a drink. They have nice reclining seats and plenty of space to walk around the seats in a reclined position.
Alyson L — Google review
Nice theatre. Go when discounts. Seats squeaked and are loud. But very comfortable. Concessions are really expensive. Lots of staff around. Bathrooms are very clean.
Unscriptedmomlife — Google review
Worst theatre experience of my life. The staff should not be allowed to treat a person like this. “We perform bag checks to ensure so that our guests can enjoy the show in a safe and comfortable environment” That is not true! Your staff is rude and if a person stands up for themselves they will weaponize the policy against you. Why submit to a bag search when you just admitted 2 adults with backpacks on w/o a word? I had a 3yo with me so YES I NEEDED a bag! A quick scan of the room and so many people with bags, it felt like the airport. Nvm what is or isn’t in my bag, you are singling me out without cause. She was rude and impatient in tone like she didn’t even want to be there. I didn’t appreciate her demeanor and it showed. That is why I was treated as such and Leland Walden did not care.
Rob B — Google review
Having compared this back to back to another theater. I can definitively say that this one was better. The seats reclined more and we're more comfortable all around. Popcorn was good, according to my husband and we had a great movie viewing experience.

Motor city comic con fall edition 2024 is held here that’s why I came and don’t regret it. The venue is very roomy and nice and clean inside. There is plenty of room for the vendors and celebrity autograph area. It’s not shoulder to shoulder like some I have been to. The restrooms are nice and clean inside. The autograph area is wide isles so it’s very easy to traverse. I will be back again if the com is held here again.

Went for the Novi Spring Home Show...it was great. Amazed at all the vendors but this house was amazing! First home show at this location but will definitely be back.

: “I was truly impressed by the excellent organization and setup of your exhibition. Everything—from the juice and cheese to the meat and chicken—was presented in a very professional and appealing way. It was a pleasure to visit such a well-arranged and high-quality display.”
Mohammad A — Google review
They host a lot of different events here and always charge $10 parking on top of my whatever admission you pay inside. Place is clean and in good working order with random placement of bathrooms. Never had a problem over all the times and different events I've gone too here

Great place for Anime MI. Nice staff. Great vendors. Great food and beverage choices.
Kimberly H — Google review
We took our Grandsons, ages 6 and 3, to Jurassic Quest this weekend. They had a great time. As an adult, I was a little disappointed in the lack of “Jurassic”. Little to no decor. Not at all what was advertised on their website. A man dressed in a Raptor costume, couple bounce houses, the walking Dino’s were falling apart at the jaw, plus I wouldn’t call this a “ride”. And no baby Dino’s. For the price of this event, they could have put more effort into it and actually made this a Jurassic experience!

I know im late while posting this. I got out to Motor City Comic Con Fall Edition 2024 awhile back. Had alot of fun met some nice and wonderful people and spent afew dollars. This is my second time around. Last time was 2013. This time around it seemed like everything was more hooked up and more so the people who were there could get around more easily and have fun. Ill try to get back sooner or later. Take care Laterz!!)

Went for Motor City Comic Con and was pleasantly surprised at how big this venue has gotten! Lots of rooms for panels and the main floor seems huuuuuuge! Everything was kept very clean, staff was excellent in checking in everyone at the doors, which was fantastic given the amount of people in the building. Parking was pretty well organized as well, so kudos to the team for keeping everyone in line!

The Ojibway Nature Centre in Windsor offers a quick and clean nature walk that is great for families and wheelchair accessible. The trails are small but well-maintained, making it ideal for teaching children about nature and indigenous trees, flora, and critters. It's also a bird's paradise with natural ponds and opportunities to spot wildlife like squirrels, chipmunks, and deer.
One of Windsors best kept nature reserves. Great walking trails, trees, and natural ponds for family outings. Ideal for teaching children about nature and indigenous trees, flora, and critters. Smile at the squirrel and chipmunk antics and watch out for the deer at dusk. If you're quiet and respectful, you might see other creatures too!
Toni W — Google review
Ojibway is such a gem in our community!! All five of the natural areas are outstanding and well worth your time to explore nature in and unwind!! The nature centre is a wealth of information, as well, with some great displays and some very helpful and pleasant guides. A shout out to Sydney and her sidekick Kaatu (a Ball Python) for entertaining us and making the experience even better!! 👍😀

Being able to see my favourite animal up close in an organic way was such a beautiful experience. This was my first time at the ojibway nature centre as i was visiting my boyfriend for the weekend and i cannot wait to return.
Tanaia — Google review
Visited this place with kids during weekend. Kids enjoyed the event. There was seating available overlooking woods, nicely laid out arrangement. Facility had options to view live snake, turtle, and taxodermed bird, insects. One can walk in the wood trails at their leisure. Have seen people walk their pets (dog) on the trail.
Kaleem S — Google review
They do not have the proper fall colours yet, but it's still a loving trail. They have so many routes and turns to choose from it's fun and the view it beautiful. I did not see any benches in between, so it's one only meant for walking.

This is a bird's paradise. In May, it is cool and pleasant to walk in the shade of the trees.

Went there for the Jazz on the River event. The park is absolutely beautiful; and the beauty came through even with 10,000-15,000 people coming in with chairs, tents, RVs, and on foot! Great amenities; very clean.

Cooper's Hawk Vineyards and The Vines Restaurant Canada

Mentioned on
3 lists

Food & Drink
Cooper's Hawk Vineyards and The Vines Restaurant is a charming establishment with a beautiful patio, some of it covered. While some visitors found the service and food to be lacking, others had a delightful experience despite impending bad weather. The staff were gracious and accommodating, making guests feel welcome even during stormy conditions. The food was praised, particularly the brussel sprout dish and chicken pot pie.
Their restaurant is really good. They have a good patio!! We usually order their burger, fish and chips and truffle fries. They are so good! Since they are a winery, you can order food and wine taster flights so you can try some different wines and buy wines you like. It is a good business model!
Goeun C — Google review
Our wine club (Ontario Wine Society) met tonight at Copper's Hawk Vineyard. This venue is worth the drive to the southern region of Essex County, between Harrow and Kingsville. Their selection of wines is very good, and they also offer a full menu of foods with fresh ingredients to suit anyone’s tastes. On this occasion, we were greeted with a crisp, bubbly reception wine (2022 North Block Sparkling). The five subsequent wines were all paired with the most delicious plates. I liked all the Cooper’s Hawk wines and their price point, so I was happy to buy a couple of bottles before leaving. I especially recommend the Barrel Fermented Chardonnay and the Cabernet Sauvignon. The chefs (Nick and Jordan) prepared special dishes for our wine pairings, and they also offered vegetarian and pescatarian alternatives. The servers were very efficient and friendly, and the hostess shared some insightful commentary on the wines. We are looking forward to our next visit to eat a meal and drink more wine. The lunch and dinner menu is extensive. Depending on the season, it would be advisable to secure a reservation in advance. Of course, there is an abundance of free parking.
Fabian P — Google review
We were driving along the North Shore roads and happened along Cooper's Hawk and a great lunch, topped off by a great Key Lime pie for dessert. Naturally, we had to sample some of the delicious wines. Well worth a visit!
John W — Google review
Coopers Hawk is SUCH a delight! They have dining and flights and a wonderful shop and perfect outdoor seating in a spacious farmhouse atmosphere. This is our second trip and it looks like these Floridians will be making a yearly trek to the grape North!
Mark W — Google review
Located 40min south of Windsor Cooper's Hawk is a lovely vineyard and restaurant. The venue is split into two parts, one dedicated to wine tasting and the other for dining at their on-site restaurant, both complete with indoor and outdoor seating. Prior to our dinner reservations, we did some tasting before moving into the restaurant. My favorite wines: Heritage and Meritage (reds). For food, we got to try their Brussel sprouts and cheesy rice balls for starters. As for mains, I opted for their half chicken served with frites. Overall, the experience and service was phenomenal, worth the visit!
Phillip L — Google review
Had a great lunch at The Vines - Cooper's Hawk. The weather was beautiful and the food was delicious, some of our favourites that we tried were the Arancini, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, and the Lake Erie Pickerel. We had a group of 8 and enjoyed quick and friendly service from several staff, will definitely return :)
Amanda C — Google review
This place is SO good. We vacation in the Leamington area every year and first tried this place last fall and loved it. We went again last month and were just as impressed. All their dishes are delicious and the service is always great. My only complaint is that the special I had (cod with some sort of bean soup) was only a special and not part of the regular menu. It was incredible. Also, the corn fettuccini was one of the best dishes we've ever had anywhere and it is a shame it isn't an option for lunch. This place is incredible! Will be back again in September!
Ms. M — Google review
Went for a wine tour for a friends birthday party. The ladies at the tasting bar we fabulous with great enthusiasm. Would happily come to THIS PORTION again. We went to the restaurant to ask for French fries to go and they said we had to be sat at the restaurant to eat because they are separated from the winery part . We happily obliged and went to sit in. Asked for 2 order of fries and had the waitress roll her eyes, sigh and put on a fake rude act because we didn’t want to order a glass of wine with the fries. (It was our second stop so I was taking a break from a glass). Overall ruined the experience of a beautiful winery experience.

Oxley Estate Winery is a charming winery and restaurant located on the south shore of Essex County. The establishment offers a lovely setting for enjoying delicious food and wine, with friendly staff providing excellent service. Guests have raved about menu items such as the Koji fried chicken, sticky duck wings, warm apple fritters, and perch dish. The high-quality cuisine is complemented by a great selection of wines, making it an ideal spot for lunch or dinner.
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent servers, delightful wines, did a tasting and chose a Chardonnay and a Wowza white wine, and tastings were free. Gorgeous grounds. Recommended. One of our favourite wineries on north shore of Lake Erie.
Paul L — Google review
Giving a star back since the wine is so good. Take one away for not being pet friendly even though they have a huge open space. Greeter seemed confused about where to seat us. It was very busy though. I don't like the wine tasting presentation in little jam jars either.
Glen H — Google review
If I could give it 10 stars I would! Food was so delicious and fresh. The burger melted in my mouth I couldn’t believe how amazing everything tasted. Sandra our waitress was incredible she explained everything on the menu to us and helped us choose all the right things. We will 100% be back. My husband is super picky, but he enjoyed everything that Sandra brought out to our table.
Stephanie D — Google review
Had an overall nice experience at this winery with good food, great wine, and some lovely servers. However, the experience was spoiled at the end when we tried to take a video on the lawn just to make a nice memory but was told aggressively within 30 seconds to stop because “this is not allowed.” Nobody was around and given the screaming bachelorette parties and families having blanket picnics on the lawn, it seemed like a relaxed place. We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to clarify what wasn’t allowed…Recording? Tripods? Phones? This particular server was also rude the entire time we were there, ignoring us when we tried to get a tasting table after having lunch, literally walking away instead of acknowledging us. The experience was overall good enough that we would give this place another try but hopefully that server is no longer there.
Mulin X — Google review
Currently enjoying a wine tasting and lunch - beautiful gardens and surroundings. Brooke was wonderful in serving us and including us in the Oxley mission - food and wines. 100% perfect day and will visit again! Thank you.

Excellent kitchen, stop for lunch here! Paired with a tasty selection of their wine there is a winning combination of food and atmosphere here. Excellent service, beautiful patio, great location. Get out of town and explore Essex county!! I return a year later and now go out of my way to stop. Today the mushroom soup is sublime and the Pinot blush is wonderful!!

Came yesterday with my finacè to celebrate our engagement. Was there waiting for 20 minutes didn’t get a single greeting. The table that got there at the same time got their waters, wine, and order taken. Same thing with a table that came 5 minutes after us. Only thing we got was a menu from the hostess. Not even a glass of water! Was very disappointed. Was a very special day for us but we got ignored. I could understand if it was busy but come on. The people that came after us got greeted, water, wine, and order taken before we even got a hi? No thank you.

Viewpointe Estate Winery

Mentioned on

Winery
Food & Drink
Viewpointe Estate Winery is a family-owned winery in Essex County, known for its year-round tours of vineyards and cellars, as well as wine tastings. The winery aims to produce affordable, easy-drinking wines and has been successful in achieving this goal with their 'Old 18A' rose being a standout. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful outdoor seating area overlooking the water while sipping on a flight of four wines.
Absolutely love it. My sister and I had suspicions about the place after reading the reviews online. I can tell you how inaccurate those reviews are. This place has a stunning view and delicious wine. The staff is fantastic. Don’t miss out on the wonderful wine here! My favorite was Old 18A Chardonnay.
Sule D — Google review
The location is 10/10 Beautiful lake views and a gorgeous large building and patio. The server we had was kind and helpful but overwhelmed by doing cash and bar service all at the same time, by herself. It was busy. She kept her smile and did a great job managing it all. This is why we are giving two stars! One for her and one for location. Wine: We tasted 6 of the wines and unfortunately did not like any. We were surprised to get our flight of wine and not receive any tasting notes on the wines from anyone. It is more of a sampling than a tasting. Ambience: The patio picnic tables are plastic. From an experience perspective the tables bring the ambience way down. The ordering system (barcodes, pagers) and beer garden style seating made this experience lacklustre. It almost felt like we were at a provincial park seating area. We did not feel like a guest and we left without finishing the wine.
Linda T — Google review
My friends and I visited this winery while staying in the area at a cottage. We were very excited for the charcuterie box but it was beyond disappointing. The cheese and meats were your basic from the grocery store (mozzarella and cheddar cubed). Seasonal fruits and veggies were apples, oranges, and grapes. Nothing local or seasonal about them. Some sliced pear or something to complement a better cheese would be an improvement. The quality wasn’t there for a $30 box. Two people in our party got the pizza. They were lukewarm at best. Another person in our party had a hair cooked into her flatbread. The service wasn’t great. The lady who served my flight didn’t suggest any wines or explain anything about them. The grounds seemed unkept. This could have been a beautiful experience to match the stunning views of Lake Erie, but it only disappointed. My advice is to skip this winery and try any other in the area.
Ashley C — Google review
I was excited to visit this winery and was hoping the reviews were wrong… but unfortunately the bad reviews are accurate. Upon entering the store, you’re advised that you have to pick your wine and food and pay for it right away (no issue there and there was no tip option so that was a hint). We picked our wines for tasting which were served in small plastic cups and a plastic holder which looked very cheap. We took them outside and headed to the seating area which was a mismatch of furniture; nice patio sets mixed with plastic picnic tables and plastic tables and chairs. Additionally, no one seems to clean the place, the covered seating area could be so much nicer if someone just used a pressure washer to wash off all the bird poop, cobwebs, dust etc. We received our food quickly but with no plates or cutlery… turns out it’s self serve and we located napkins and cups for water nearby. Though the staff were super friendly, they also don’t seem to care.. maybe because they don’t receive any tips, but nothing was being cleaned up from the patio so plastic cups were flying around from guests who didn’t clean up their table as they left. Needles to say, we were very disappointed as this place has so much potential and a little love would go so far but I cannot recommend going here.. down the road are better wineries!
Marilou V — Google review
It's a very busy place, so plan your visit accordingly on weekends. The property is large and flows right down to the lakeshore so it has great views to the south. The "restaurant" is actually in the centre of the facility under the roof but open-aired. The food is served take-away to eat at the tables in that central area. You must go inside the facility to obtain your wine flights and then return outside - an awkward arrangement.
John W — Google review
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I wish the ambience, staff, and wine would’ve matched the stunning views. Waited outside to be served, nobody came! Served us in plastic cups, horrible aged wine. Would not recommend in any circumstance.
Olivia P — Google review
Nice facilities and great views. Music on Sunday of this week was also good. That’s the extent of the good part. Food was absolutely atrocious and virtually inedible. The schnitzel sandwich went in the garbage after one bite. Poutine was fries with canned gravy and 4-5 cheese curds. Add in wine from a “tap” for $8-9, disgusting for a winery, they truly should be ashamed.

Super friendly staff, amazing views, good wine, but DO NOT eat. We ordered at 1 and it's 3 PM and we still don't have our food. We did get free drink tickets, but understaffed for sure on food. Have some wine, enjoy the views, and head out.

William C. Sterling State Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Lake Erie's only state park offers 1 mile of lakeshore with campsites plus wildlife walks & hiking.
We absolutely love it here!! The beach area has mostly grass and a small sandy shore (not far to walk!) and the trees along the beach help provide a lot of shade! There are also grills and tables for public use. Along with a playground, sheltered bathrooms, and vending machines. This has become a staple for us on a hot sunny day!
Megan B — Google review
The sand in parts of the beach is all finely crushed shells, really cool! Beach was clean, very little trash and water was nice and warm great place to swim. Good place to go fishing, great place to sit and relax.

July 2025 - came here with the family over the 4th of July weekend. The place was packed. They have a shower and bathroom. The beach was nice and the water was warm. No issues and a good park to check out.
Brian D — Google review
The park offers some good points, but the beach could use some improvement. The beach itself was just okay and not as clean as I would have liked. However, I did appreciate the shaded areas provided by the trees, which was a nice break from the sun. The park play area for kids was a great feature and a definite plus."

This state park is right on the edge of Lake Erie. They have a wonderful campground. It’s very tight but you’re right on the edge of Lake Erie so you have a beach right there in the campground it’s amazing. The playground for the children looks great. the bathhouse is wonderfuland then if you decide you’re not camping, you also have access to the beach of Lake Erie. they have a nice concession area lots and lots of picnic tables with grills and a huge parking lot. It really is a nice place.
Cathie D — Google review
This place is just horribly unhealthy. It is directly, practically on top of, a gross factory- emitting non stop, fumes. You can smell it and the air quality in the location is poor. Every view from the lake has factories. The water is full of dead fish and the trail is filled with sulfur smells. This is a sad situation for the city. This is 2025 and we know about clean energy..or at least non-deadly energy. Skip this place. Monroe..you can do better for your citizens.

Returned today from Sterling state campground, and we loved it. We did tent camping. There were lot of RVs and very few tent campers. I would like to list what we loved: 1. The ground were leveled and soil was soft to fix stakes in. Whole campground was lush green with grass and few weeds. 2. You would be welcomed with nicely arranged swamp roses which were there in my campground too. Yes there are areas with native plants and milkweeds. 3. Our camping area was near restrooms. Restrooms and shower were very clean. 4. Outside restrooms were placed vending machines. Also separate trash cans were there for paper, waste and cans & bottles. 5. Lake Erie view was pleasing. Lake made weather pleasant. 6. There were activities for small kids like nature walk where the female staff was telling kids to write what they would observe while on their way to Lake Erie and they should write it downl. Provided kids with unlimited foam stickers and crayons to write. Today they had different type of clouds activities for kids. 7. Lake Erie is so cool, water is cold and beach has no fishy smell. Yes few dead fishes were washed off but otherwise walking around beach and tree areas were refreshing. 8. For tent camping, there is more than ample space. 9. Campground has electric outlets. 10. Common playground was there in campground and kids slides and play area was also there if you walk through beach where there was hotdog food truck too. 11. Cottages are there. Negatives that are not campground fault: 1. Lot of mayflies or June flies were there which was sticking around us, tents and out canopy. 2. Trees are small and hence canopy is required 3. First day when we arrived, it was extremely windy that was making it very hard to set up the tent and rainfly over it. 4. View of some power plant is visible. 5. Not private campground. Overall we all loved it, kids would not be bored and so are the adults.

Nice new visitor center and museum. Small but good! There’s not a ton to see outside- just a walking trail across the street with information plaques. I like the small sites like this though since they provide just the right amount of info and activity that you don’t feel overwhelmed. It was also not crowded- had the trail all to ourselves and had a lovely peaceful morning stroll. We also went to the memorial site a few minutes drive away. I would also like to mention that the gift shop was quite interesting- it had stickers and things from other parks around the country! My husband found a Katmai sticker that he couldn’t resist getting.

Great spot to check off my passport bucket list! We got our stamp thinking this was going to be just a visitor center with a field and it was much more! Staff was very knowledgeable, the new education center was full of interactive stuff for the kids to do. I can't wait to come back when it is completed! Very thoughtful to the time frame in which it all took place.
Heather — Google review
This is a great spot to walk around and read about the battlefield history. Start near the parking lot and it loops in the correct order to read the full story on the signs. There are two picnic areas, one covered and one not. There is not a lot of parking and the only restroom is an outhouse. Still an interesting place to stop especially if you like history. Highly recommend checking the River Raisin National Park visitor center first just so you have a better idea of what you are seeing, though the signs do a great job of telling the full story.

Very beautiful! Loved that they had the display for those that had been killed in action and that it was split into sections for each war. Very moving display.

Traffic bumped me off the freeway, and right into the parking lot of this amazing NPS Battlefield. This place is a hidden gem. Stop on in with your kids and learn a lot about American Indian culture and the War of 1812.

Beautiful and peaceful walk paved and unpaved sections over a mile total.. Hope you enjoy our pictures. Toby was jumping and leaping with excitement.

Great stop on my trip! As a history buff I loved all of the artifacts they had. Even if you do not know much about the war of 1812 and especially what happened here, there is an AMAZING movie that explains it all. Highly recommend

Very fun experience center with hands-on displays. Learn to load a cannon or fire an arrow or make wampum with legos. Well worth a stop especially if you have kids.

The Toledo Museum of Art, established in 1901 by Edward Drummond Libbey and Florence Scott Libbey, is a privately-owned, non-profit institution that offers free admission to the public. The museum's main building, designed in Beaux Arts style, celebrated its centennial recently.
Amazing place to visit especially if you're looking for something free to do in the area! There's plenty of amazing pieces in there. (There are pay to see exhibits as well I'd recommend buying the tickets beforehand if you can but the free exhibits were stunning to)
Cody W — Google review
Stopped in rather briefly but we enjoyed what we saw. The staff were very friendly (shoutout to Reggie) and we loved the collection on the East side. We arrived shortly after they opened on Sunday and only a few others were there. Love that the lot and museum were free. Definitely would come back again.

Hello future tourist… I recommend this museum. From start to finish the staff is very welcoming. Is great to take the family, friends, or simply go on a date with your significant other. The atmosphere is very clean and organized. I did enjoy that every so often they have new exhibits to view. They also have an area for special events one can have. That was pretty neat too. Now, across from the museum they have Glass Pavilion . They have neat glass art displays. Also, you could see staff members working on new glass projects. I really enjoyed my experience. I hope you like it as much as I did.

Went here solo, for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed the total experience. Free parking and admission, lovely well rounded collection, beautiful building and grounds with a pleasant and helpful staff. Bonus: had the place mostly to myself. Thanks Toledo!
Andrew V — Google review
The museum is beautiful and has a wide variety of art to check out. The staff were super friendly too. One offered to take a photo of our group and another told us a bit of background information about a piece we found interesting. Overall, it was a great experience, and it's awesome that admission is free!

Fifth Third Field is a 9,000-capacity stadium in downtown Toledo that is home to the Toledo Mud Hens minor league baseball team. The stadium offers great game-viewing from the Roost terrace and has been praised as one of the best in the American lower leagues.
What a fantastic ball park!! The layout is wonderful, and far exceeds its minor league pedigree. A clean, well maintained stadium that rivals the MLB park in my home city. And the sight lines are great: not a bad seat anywhere. And for a special bonus, the fireworks after the game were phenomenal. Come watch a Mud Hens game: you will NOT be disappointed!
David E — Google review
I really liked this field. It was small, easy to get in and out of and plenty of parking available nearby. We went for a cosmic baseball game and it was extremely easy to get to and get in and out. Food vendors were easy to access and quick to go through the lines.

We love coming here. It’s geared more towards kids and we get signatures all the time. Love being so close to the action. The fireworks displays are really good. We brought our Girl Scout troop multiple times over the past couple years. They love it! Parking is close by and lots of restaurants also.

Great place to watch a ballgame. Toledo mudhens. Everyone friendly. Players and coaches we talked to were awesome. Went on Harry potter night with my family. Great fireworks afterwards. All around Great time. Got to see Reese Olson of the tigers on a rehab assignment.

Stadium is very clean and well kept. We had seats right behind home plate, but I did walk around and the view is really good from any seat. The staff is polite and helpful.
Scott W — Google review
Very fun baseball field. Went here for cosmic night and it was awesome! We sat in best seats in the house according to ESPN, it was row 212 that overlooks the whole baseball field. It was a blast. The seats are cushioned and the speakers were right behind us. I feel like no matter where you sit here, it’s a pretty good spot to watch a game. There’s picnic tables and standing area with a ledge you can put your drink on. There’s a few food places. It looks like they sell frozen lemonade , ice cream, bottle pepsi products and cans. The staff were very polite. Didn’t use the bathrooms at all so not sure what they looked like.

The food is good, the people are nice, the venue is clean and comfortable, and most importantly, the game is fun to watch! They also have entertainment between inning and they have special event nights including bring your dog and fireworks.

The Toledo Zoo and Aquarium is a must-visit destination offering a wide range of experiences for animal lovers and families. With over 10,000 animals from 720 species, the zoo provides numerous hands-on opportunities such as a petting zoo, aquarium touch tanks, giraffe feed deck, daily animal feedings, and educational sessions with staff. The exhibits are designed to immerse visitors in the habitats and cultural history of each region.
Our kids did the rope course, which takes about an hour and a half and they absolutely loved it. They were up over animal enclosures and were so excited to tell us all about it when they got back. It’s a really nice zoo, the building you can eat lunch in is really cool, it has what look like cages, the kids thought that was pretty cool too. We got to see a baby elephant being trained to do things on queue, we have to see the moment elephant do some painting. The aquarium is really neat.
Laura — Google review
It's pretty good. But the viewing areas for most of the exhibits are limited. Combine that with rude people and you've gotta fight for position to see the animals. Lines for the train were long, just to buy tickets. And the animals you see during your ride are nothing to get excited about. Except for the 3 cheetahs. They were actually moving for a minute. Reptile House is closed until 2026. And the Zoo Passes are now restricted to the zoo they are bought from. We used to buy it every year and the discount for food and gift shop items were honored everywhere. Now, it's only at the zoo you bought it at. That kind of pissed me off. And $14.50 for a pretzel and cheese is ridiculous. Food prices are as bad a theme park. They don't allow coolers so be prepared to spend some serious money if you plan on staying for the day. But the kids had fun I guess.
Rob H — Google review
We visit during the week and head out early since mom likes renting the scooters instead of using her wheelchair. We have never had a problem not finding one but avoid busy weekends. Perks of homeschool! There are neverending lessons to learn while visiting the zoo and not just about the animals. We spent a day looking at all the jobs and working on optimizing the job algorithms to incorporate coding and possible future optimizations with AI. The only limit is your mind. There are plenty of animals and places to rest. We bring a backpack cooler and a water bladder backpack to stay hydrated and have plenty of snacks. There is a good variety of foods, and you can doordash a delivery if you prefer something else. Always a pleasant experience and we have yet to complete the entire zoo in one day on any visit. There is lots to see including plants, birds, insects and other creatures that have unofficially moves into the zoo! 😁
Peacebringers C — Google review
The Toledo Zoo is absolutely fantastic and one of our favorite places to visit! There’s so much to see and do, and every trip feels like a new adventure. The exhibits are beautifully designed and you can tell the animals are well cared for. We especially loved watching the playful otters🦦, strolling through the African Savanna🐫, and exploring the aquarium🐠. But the best parts of our visit? Riding the train 🚂and the carousel🎠—such fun for both kids and adults! And our most favorite experience of all was feeding the giraffes🦒. Getting that close to such gentle, incredible animals was unforgettable and definitely a highlight. The zoo is super family-friendly with clean facilities, great food options, and plenty of shaded spots to rest. The staff is friendly and helpful, and it’s easy to spend a full day here making memories. We absolutely love the Toledo Zoo and can’t wait to come back again soon!
Jaclyn S — Google review

It's one of the next zoos in the nation for a reason. Tons to do, world class exhibits, gorgeous gardens, numerous kids play areas, excellent food, and helpful staff. We're annual members and there have been times when my 6yo has wanted to go for three straight days. It's that good.

I had such a wonderful time at the Toledo Zoo! From the moment I walked in, everything felt well-organized, clean, and welcoming. The variety of animals is incredible I loved seeing everything from playful otters to majestic elephants, and the habitats are beautifully designed to feel natural and comfortable for the animals. The zoo is easy to navigate, with plenty of spots to rest, grab a snack, and take in the scenery. Overall, the Toledo Zoo isn’t just a place to see animals; it’s an experience that blends conservation, education, and fun. I can’t wait to come back!
Nicholas — Google review
The Toledo Zoo is something truly fantastic. Not only is the zoo well kept and clean but the animals are clean and healthy and are extremely interactive not only with each other but also their environment and the workers. You can find a helping hand not only for information but directions anyway you turner because the Toledo Zoo is BIGGER then most zoo's. Food is a little high on the price but getting your yearly membership not only pays for itself and less than three visits but also with the discounted food and rides. I can keep going on and on there's more than enough fantastic things to say about the zoo with a constant updating social media letting their Zoo members know on enrichment days and special events that are being hosted so just get up and go.

Hollywood Casino- Regalo Our party of five had the pleasure of visiting Regalo for our most recent visit to Hollywood Casino. Staff was so friendly and made the experience great. Food was hit and miss. Our party ordered the calamari and meatball appetizers, Caesar salad, soup of the month, chicken Marsala, Pesto chicken dish, high roller chicken, table side cacio de Pepe and cheesecake dessert. Our favorites were the calamari and meatballs, pesto pasta dish, high roller chicken and the table side experience. Prices are appropriate for the dining experience and menu offerings. The chef shared with us that many ingredients are made fresh in house including their pasta which was definitely noticeable. Regalo is worth the visit!

Good variety of games, but very difficult tot get a drink or a bottle of water. Also management doesn’t follow the rules and always will withhold taxes even if you provide documentation which excludes you from federal taxes. They still withholded taxes and now I need to spend money to get my taxes back, they gave me a bussinuess card to discuss matter at after moment, however never relied to any of my mails or friendly reminders.

So we went to Hollywood Casino to enjoy a birthday dinner at the final cut. I have not been there in a while so we thought we give a try. We were not very impressed with the service. It took longer than espected for our drinks. The food was okay but I felt it was on the salty side as did my fellow dinner guests. We all felt that even though the server was very nice that they could have been a little more attentive. Unfortunately we will not be going back anytime soon.

Machines are expensive, but they have great comps and I have been getting lucky, almost every time I go! I have been in Ohio for a year, recently found this casino, after becoming a K card at Jacks for two years ( earned too many points). They need more staff and a phone number that they answer though. This was my second hand pay that day off of free play but my cell battery died. I wish they had more promotions too.
Amanda T — Google review
Payouts are really good on the slot machines. The slot machines and surrounding areas are always kept up and are clean. The parking area and inside the casino Is the cleanest casino I have been to. I have had questions of the staff from security to floor personnel. All have been extremely friendly and go the extra mile to help in any way they can. All of the above is a direct reflection on how well the human resources department employ the correct personnel. Additionally, there is never a shortage of hand sanitizing dispensers distributed inside the entire casino. Entrance into the casino and parking is very easy. Out of all the times I have been here, there is never a shortage of parking spaces. I highly recommend Hollywood Casino Toledo.

It's still the best casino in Mich/Ohio area! Safe, winning environment most of the time, friendly staff, great table games and slots. Along with free bets and food comps. Who could ask for more. 7/10/22 hit for 5000 on free credit bet! 1/18/25 hit on penny slot for 4500. 3/15/25 won 900 in free slots on Blinko! Then from that freeplay bonus won 1000+. And usually do very well at crap tables. Winning does happen here! Thank you, Hollywood 😊 restaurants are pretty good also.
BossMan ! — Google review
Tight machines and staff was far less accommodating than I would like to deal with. No wonder it was almost empty. Parking area is 6 foot clearance and one lane entrance into the garage so if you have a truçk over 6ft tall leave it at home or make a mental note to not use the main entrance of that parking area. I will never go there again, no matter what's going on

Had a great time with Captain Jimmy and the Sea Breeze crew. They are very professional and put us on fish right away (when weather permitted). Had an amazing time and made great memories with family and the crew. Can't wait to come back and do it again. Well worth the money. If you have ever had the thought of doing this trip or it is on your bucket list, I would highly recommend Sea Breeze Charters. Again, THANK YOU Caption Jimmy and Sebastian for the great time and fun experience.

We had a great morning on the lake (6/24) with captain Al. We brought our children and 3/5 of us were new to walleye fishing. He was knowledgeable and personable. He did a wonderful job teaching our children with kindness and patience. We limited out, even with all the newbies. I would recommend captain Al to anyone!

My grandson and I went out on 7-16-25 with Capt. Ron with Sea Breeze Charters. Our first Lake Erie experience fishing for walleye. He’s very knowledgeable with several years of experience. He put us on fish and limited out before 11am. Very friendly and laid back. I highly recommend Capt. Ron and I’ll be requesting to go out with him again in the future. Thanks Capt. Ron. We had a great time!

Captain Mike R was great! We got our limit the first day, and just one shy of our limit the 2nd day due to some crazy wind. Our boat had trouble, but sea breeze was right out there immediately with another boat for us. Seriously can’t complain about that! If you are looking for a good charter I recommend Sea Breeze.

Always have a good experience with Sea Breeze. Our group has booked with these guys for the past several years and have had good success with catching walleye. For 2025 Mike and Mike were our captains and they did a great job. You can tell quickly that they have a passion for what they do. The Sea Breeze captains work hard to ensure you are catching fish and most importantly have a good time. Highly recommend them. See ya next year!

Had a wonderful time with captain Tom… he did a really good job at making sure we stayed on fish, and making sure we were catching fish! I will book again! Thanks Tom! We all had a wonderful time and one 14 year boy said it was the best time of his life!!

Went out with Kevin today and he got us on the fish immediately. He showed us how to set up the first rod and asked us if we could handle it from there. Once we said we could handle it he let us do it ourselves. He was an enjoyable person and made it a fun trip. We caught our 6 man limit in the morning.

Oak Openings Preserve Metropark is a vast sanctuary that offers both summer and winter recreational activities, as well as an interactive nature center and a playground. The park's expansive grounds include the towering group of trees known as The Spot, which provides a picturesque location for elopements or wedding photo shoots. Oak Openings also features hiking trails that offer endless opportunities for stunning photo opportunities with furry companions.
This place is absolutely marvelous, you don't even feel like your in Ohio. The trails are amazing, the quiet in these trails is heavenly. We fished and we had lots of bites , caught about 2-3 fish , plenty of people were catching. There is an amazing waterfall, and so many bridges and up and down hills , it's truly an adventure! MUST VISIT!

Well marked and well maintained trails of varying lengths. Trails for walking, hiking, biking, and mountain biking. Impressive wildflower displays. In mid August, some of the best blooms are seen at the reconstructed prairie plantings near to the mountain bike Fit Park in the Beach Ridge Area. CCC handiwork still visible in the park.

This park is an excellent location for a walk with your partner or a family picnic. The scenery is beautiful and provides a refreshing escape from the city parks. My only concern is that there are limited signs guiding visitors to the parking lot.

I've came to this park since I was a kid, there's so much to do and see, they have a park, a lake, picnic area, lots of walking trails, horseback riding trails, lots of spots for great picture opportunities, bird watching, there's just so much more to list, its has areas for public bathrooms (with changing tables), definitely worth seeing
Amanda J — Google review
Some trails are well marked others are not. There are tons of plants / bugs/ birds and squirrels. I hiked about 8 miles and didn’t see anything else. Pick the trail and research your entry point before you come. There is more than one yellow trail fyi there is a tiny one and a giant 15 mile one. I still have not found a great entry point for the giant 15 mile one.

As someone who's driven through the area countless times and never stopped because I thought it was all farmland with nothing worth driving across the state for, apparently I've been quite wrong. This place was a beautiful stretch of woods, wetlands, and some grasslands with wonderfully maintained campgrounds and playgrounds and peaceful trails.
Matt D — Google review
I enjoy the diversity this preserve offers. Swamp land/wet lands, sand dunes, coniferous forest, deciduous forest, grasslands, savanna, several ponds - so much to see here. Variety of plants and animals as well. Trails are well maintained and marked, several are multi-use, and there are a variety of distances to choose from. We always enjoy the red and blue, clockwise. There is a playground for young kids at the trailhead and a nature center. I've never used either so cannot speak on those. Flush toilets at parking lot. You will see red headed woodpeckers - they're everywhere lol!
Angela W — Google review
Absolutely loved it! Great for toddlers! Very clean restrooms. So many trails would need many visits to hike them all. Beautiful scenery. I didn't see any trash anywhere. Probably the best playground I've found in the Toledo area for sure. A little difficult to find where to park for the playground. Go to the park website and go to the Wilkins address listed, otherwise the Google maps takes you outside of the place and it's huge there so many places to park and trails to see. Hope this helps.

Schedel Gardens are THE GO TO location for all of your wedding dreams to come true 🌸🌸🌸✨ from how absolutely STUNNING the brand new Pavilion is for outdoor celebrating, to how absolutely ADORABLE the bridal suite is! All of my bridesmaids and I literally felt like we were getting dolled up inside of a house! The suite is nestled right next to an adorable pond where you can peer out at the sweet swan 🦢 couple enjoying their afternoon swim, all while taking in a breathtaking view of the grounds. Most of all, Veronica is one of the most kind and generous people to work alongside. I feel so lucky to have chosen Schedel Gardens as our wedding venue because of how special Veronica and the entire staff made all of us feel on our big day! Look no further than these beautiful Japanese gardens for any party! You will not be disappointed! Thank you so much, Veronica! You made all of our dreams come true!!! 🌸🌸🌸✨

Old established garden dating from the 1930s. Wonderful bonsai exhibits and Japanese styled garden. And huge bald cypress trees, too. Famous for the collection of Lithophanes, 3-D translucent porcelain plaques which, when back-lit, reveal detailed 3-d images. Very interesting, rare collection. Worth the visit.

I went to the Beer & Wine tasting, and what a great event! I would definitely do it again. You get to taste a lot, plus there was some great food to accompany the drinks.

We went here mostly for the Japanese garden they have on site. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of that garden with the vibrant greenery in stark contrast to the red of the torii gate and Japanese maples. Coupled with the well maintained bridges and the stream with waterfall, the place oozes tranquility and beauty in a format that is hard to come across in Ohio of all places. The additional bonsai tree collection, multitude of flower gardens, and lithophane museum make this an absolute hidden gem and wonderful destination to check out!

It’s a beautiful hidden gem in Elmore Ohio. Beautiful plants and flowers. Gardens with views. Great for a short day trip
Rebecca R — Google review
It's small, but interesting. A self- guided walkway. There are stairs. Large ponds with water features and water lilies are most of it. The rose garden was small and dismal, compared to my local park. A vegetable garden that was hardy. Several statues adorn the flower beds. It was $11.00 senior entrance fee.

Amazing place for a magical wedding! So many options for pictures, ceremony and reception. They were wonderful about answering any questions I had and accommodating requests that we came up with. Overall I would highly recommend for any wedding, our guests were blown away by the beauty of the gardens!

What a neat little museum! I stumbled on this place while looking for something to do while in Toledo visiting family. This place was a great find for our car-loving toddler. The antique slots and games were also fun (bring spare change!). Worth the quick drive down from Toledo.

Such a beautifully kept, nostalgic museum. The cars are immaculate and there are so many other interesting items on display. What a wonderful walk down memory lane. As an added bonus we were permitted to allow our well-behaved dog to join in the fun!

Out of a way place that is worth a stop. My son and I were passing through Bowling Green and wanted to find an interesting place to stop. Met both the owner and mechanic; both were knowledgeable and great to talk to. Definitely worth a look.

Great place. Stopped mid day on a Thursday, and the owner was very friendly and helpful, but didn't linger and make you feel rushed. My FiL and husband spent about an hour looking at all the vehicles. They have a car show room, mechanical shop for classics, and a small gift shop. They also have slot machines and car toy memorabilia.
Sage H — Google review
It was just awesome ☺️! Most of the vintage slot machines and games are working, and the cars are really in good condition! It is definitely a checkout place if you are near. The owner was very friendly and kind too.👍

--- 2023/12/21 --- Another great Harvest Hosts stay at Snook's. The collection had a few changes and Murphy (or standard poodle) always enjoys seeing Terry (mechanic and fellow auto nut). One of our favorite HH spots in Ohio. --- ORIGINAL REVIEW --- Found Snook's via Harvest Hosts and so happy we did. We arrived around 6:30pm on Sunday and we were THRILLED how large and flat their parking lot was. We identified a good spot to park our rig out of the way for the night. Setup was SO EASY because we were completely level where I stopped. 🤩 Got a good night's sleep and the next morning Murphy the standard poodle and I went inside Snook's to check out the collection. Amazing automotive collection with a working garage. Terry showed me a couple collection and customer cars he was working on. Highly recommend Snook's for automotive lovers and RV'ers alike.

Loved it! And owner Jeff Snook was tremendously nice and welcoming. Really enjoy the whole place. Walking into the old service station feel, a wonderful collection of old cars, parts, advertising, and other fun items. The cars are displayed beautifully, and there's some really fun stuff to see. I'm not sure who liked it more...my 4-year-old son or myself! Wonderful time

Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums

Sights & Landmarks
The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums is a captivating destination that offers a glimpse into the life of the 19th president and his wife, who both resided and are interred at Spiegel Grove. Visitors can explore the stunning estate, which includes an impressive home tour, a well-curated museum filled with original artifacts, and beautifully maintained grounds perfect for leisurely strolls. The house itself boasts over 20,000 square feet of space adorned with remarkable Bierstadt artwork.
This museum is well worth a visit. There is so much history to learn here. The home tour was very informative and gives a lot of insight into the life and times of this family. I guide was a fast talker but very knowledgeable. Could have spent more time here !
Celeste L — Google review
There's no question that the Hayes house and adjacent walks on Spiegel Grove are worthy of a visit, especially if you have any affection for presidential history. The grave is humble, despite the grounds and the property being quite grand. But on my arrival, after driving from Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor, MI (President Ford's Museum/Library), there seemed to be an air of something and someone always out of place, like the man talking into his phone so loudly, on business, that you could hear him anywhere in the grove, including the grave, even as a young girl walked beside him, constantly ignored. Or the other man walking and pumping rap music through headphones as he passed by the grave a few minutes later. It's a public walking area, so it comes with the territory, but it all fed into a larger observation. Because what most gave me pause was our house tour guide, a young man who was clearly (and surprisingly) knowledgeable of the house, the Hayes family, and a wealth of other historically valuable nuggets, but who never once paused to engage with us, to see if we were keeping up, if we had any questions. He spoke a mile-a-minute and checked his phone every time we moved between rooms, hopping through facts like he was in a race to recite a full Wikipedia page before 5pm. At one point, he mentioned that Hayes was the first to host an egg roll at the White House, so I spoke up to mention that Andrew Johnson had actually been the first to do so informally, to which our guide simply deferred to his own belief, insisted he was right, and moved on, prompting me to leave the tour before the second floor. I've been to 25 presidential graves, countless presidential homes, and always appreciate those who give tours with lots of knowledge, as this young man certainly did, but failure to engage with the people on your tour, maybe benefit from or inquire about the knowledge of others, is an unfortunate flaw in this otherwise peculiar marker of worthy history.
Jeremy L — Google review
Great experience touring the Hayes home and the grounds. Our guide Bill was very knowledgeable and gave great insight to all of the generations of Hayes. The old photos of each room and the authentic updates...amazing experience. You can spend hours here if you tour the museum also.

This has been on our bucket list for awhile and we finally made it there. Tour of the home was very nice and the guides very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum was informative and shows how far our standards have fallen when comparing Presidencies from then and unfortunately now. Those who truly care about our democracy should visit these sites and become more informed as to what real leaders are and then take those lesson to the ballot box.

Great experience and great place to take your family, and learn the history of the Hayes family.

Today's daytime took us to the quaint town of Fremont and specifically the Hayes Memorial and Library. The Parkside grounds are a lovely setting for Hayes home and Museum. Our guide Garrett was knowledgeable and gracious. A great way to learn about Ohio's contributions to US history.
Phil P — Google review
We have visited all of the US Presidential Libraries and the museum portion was good. However, the Hayes house was very good. Our docent, Sarah, was super! She had a great personality and really knew the details about the house and the people who had lived in it. A few visitors asked questions that Sarah didn't know the answer but she had a tablet that she accessed quickly and supplied the answer. The grounds that surrounds the museum and house are absolutely beautiful and worth the time to walk around them. We spent about an hour and a half to visit the museum, the house tour was about an hour, and to walk around the grounds took about 45 minutes. In our opinion, it's a worth while visit.
Terri M — Google review
This is a great place to visit for anyone in the area, or passing through. The sheer amount of preserved historical items is astonishing. The museum is very well put together. Our tour guide for the residence was very informative, friendly, and kept the tour entertaining. For guests with disabilities, they even restored the elevator so you can see the second floor of the house.

Amazing church with stunning stained glass
Frederick V — Google review
I never realized how big of a pilgrimage site this is until I came here. Miraculous healings occur to this day as a result of devotion to Our Lady at this shrine. The main church itself is also breaktaking. If only every town in America has a church like this, it would inspire more people to seek out Jesus. The staff in the rectory were very friendly and hospitable. As someone who isn't one for small talk or usually going out of my way to have down-to-earth conversations with people, I would recommend seizing the opportunity to ask about their anecdotal experiences with the basilica, the town, etc. You just might learn something. Be sure to look at the giant map across from the basilica if you're new. Otherwise, it may be difficult to find where you need to go.

Ohio Bird Sanctuary

Mentioned on

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Nestled in the heart of Ohio, the Ohio Bird Sanctuary offers a delightful escape for bird enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Unlike your typical petting zoo, this sanctuary provides an intimate experience with a variety of birds including majestic eagles, graceful hawks, and charming songbirds. Visitors can wander along scenic footpaths and boardwalks that meander through lush woods and marshes near the Clear Fork River's headwaters.
Very cheap, profits support the sanctuary, kids under 3 are free, has a area to feed song birds, 25 cent cups of worms. Amazing gift store, kids play area, and on a beautiful and maintained property. This should exist everywhere.

Warren G. Harding Presidential Sites

Historic Sites
Restored residence of President Warren Harding now a museum with presidential & personal artifacts.
On vacation in Ohio and the weather kept us inside. So we went to the Presidential Sites. Had a nice tour of the Harding home and enjoyed our visit to the Presidential Library. The tomb was quite remarkable as well. We learned a lot about a president that we didn't know a lot about. It was all done very well and highly recommend.

First of all a big shout out to the tour guide Bill . He gave us one of the best tours we have ever had . This place is a must visit please add to your bucket list . You will learn a lot about one of our presidents . This was the tenth presidential libraries I have visited. Great place to take the family well worth a trip .
BILL R — Google review
Coming off a night with very little sleep (5-10 minutes), when all I wanted to do was take a nap in the parking lot after a long day of travel, I gathered just enough energy to walk inside and say hello to the guides, which led me to a "front porch" tour that did more than wake me up. It reminded me of why I had come to the Harding house in the first place, to talk with those who could offer their own American context, to appreciate and embrace what makes this nation and its leaders so fragile, so rewarding to study, despite our many faults and falls along the way.
Jeremy L — Google review
Museum is very informative. Home has been well kept thru the years with mostly original furnishings. Tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable.
Larry T — Google review
The grounds are well kept. Since we had our dog with us we passed on the tour today of the house & museum but plan to return at a later date. We spoke with several people who had viewed both and were told it was well worth seeing.

Very nice tour and very clean museum. The tour guide we had was very informative and made the tour fun and educational for all of us. Lots to see and do. There is also a nice gift shop and clean restrooms available. There was not a JR Ranger Program for those that have asked, but hopefully they will add it as it would be a great addition.
Savannah P — Google review
This is an amazing find if you want to see and learn about history. When President Harding passed away, the nation at the time was in shock and grieved. Unfortunately, his presidency was not treated well as members of his cabinet were caught up in scandals after Hardings' death. It would've been interesting to see how he would've dealt with all that came out. The museum did a great job of explaining without trying to cover anything up. What was extremely interesting was how Harding and his wife supported the women's suffrage movement and equality for races. Considering how women were ignored or called "nags" if they spoke up in public, Harding respected his wife's opinion. Mrs. Harding was really the first First Lady to champion women athletes and other women's causes. Always a hit, the President's dog, Laddie is good for all ages! The tour of the Harding's Queen Victorian home, right next to the museum, is well worth it! Plus, the museum has spent the money to install wheelchair access for more to be able to have full access. The home is in amazing condition, and the front porch experience is very cool!
Leslie S — Google review
One of the finest guided tours I have ever experienced! Our guide of the house was excellent, giving a very interesting, detailed account of the Hardings' life and home. The museum was also extremely interesting, although we regretfully didn't arrive early enough to read all the exhibit information. If you are a true history buff I would recommend at least three hours to go on the house tour plus visit the museum, watch the movie, and peruse the gift shop. Finally, while not on the same property, the Hardings' gravestones and memorial are nearby and are also well worth the visit. All in all, we had an extremely satisfying day here!

I was in Marion for a business meeting, and decided to swing by this place since I enjoy presidential history. A very peaceful setting, with a beautiful memorial building in which Harding and his wife are buried. I enjoyed just walking the grounds and reading the signs. Looks like it would be a great place to spend a few hours, relaxing, relaxing, enjoying a picnic, or reading.

If you’re a history geek, this is a quick stop. Parking was plentiful. Beautiful memorial with historical information plaques. We were just passing through, stayed the night in Marion while on our way to NY and happened to see a former president had a memorial/grave site in the area and decided to make a quick stop early in the morning, before we continued on our journey. The site was way more impressive than I had expected—felt like it could have been in Washington DC and not in the middle of Ohio, surrounded by mostly farmland. If you’re in the area, appreciate American history, and have time, I’d recommend a visit.
Emily — Google review
This is no reflection on the president, just the memorial. Overall. The grounds are well kept and lush, the memorial itself is stunning and it's very nice to photograph. The grounds are public.
Brei C — Google review
We went on a Saturday afternoon and had the whole place to ourselves, there are two small parking lots, a paved level walk way leads you to the memorial. The marks in the marble is absolutely stunning as it makes abstract designs, also check out the metal details of the stair railings and fencing, it's a beautiful floral design.
Alisa W — Google review
Harding wasn’t a very good guy, but he could have been a great president. The memorial itself is very beautiful.

Mt. Gilead State Park

Nature & Parks
Great park. Wish we'd had time to explore more. Played disc golf, did a little hiking. Muddy in spots, but overall not bad. Pretty, the new dam is cool. Hope to make it back here!
Darren P — Google review
There are a lot of amenities here, basketball court, volleyball, playgrounds, camping, and a nature center. There are several trails, none of them are very long. The trails are well marked with maps at intersections. It’s not the prettiest state park in Ohio, but reservoir/dam area is really nice.
Thirteendays — Google review
Okay dude straight up I'll be honest here I can't really recommend stopping by this park. Like It's extremely muddy almost all the time. Like sticky deep mud that is real hard to navigate through if you're not properly prepared to do so. If you have boots or something it's fine but I really don't like hiking in waterproof boots. It's such a pain in the neck and I mean it's muddy to the point that my dogs can't even walk across the mud. I can't stand it like maybe after a drought come by and visit but if it rained at all you're going to be a mess when you leave here. Like I don't know man If I was driving a four-wheeler through here or like a dirt bike or something that would be a different story this would be awesome but you can't bring vehicles in here lol You definitely can't dress casually you will ruin a pair of shoes if you come in here You're probably going to leave a mess I just recommend going somewhere else. Like I said it'd be different if you could bring in like ATVs or something but this is pretty much walking only and it's just extremely frustrating sometimes especially if you have dogs. It's an okay park but the mud gets overwhelming sometimes. Just know that if you're going to bring a dog here you're either going to have to take a lot of detours to avoid the mud or you're going to have to have something set up in your car so they don't make a mess when they get back into your vehicle.
AL K — Google review
I drove through the park to see the eclipse campers. There was definitely excitement in the air. This is one of my favorite state parks. The campground can be very busy at times. I like to fish and kayak the lake. Fall colors are beautiful here.
Steve L — Google review
It's not the prettiest park in the state, but it's still damn cool.
Luke F — Google review
Our park has grown so much! So glad to see. I love our state park. We have a wonderful, knowledgeable naturalist, Meredith, whom is so knowledgeable about plants and trees, bugs and everything else in the park! I encourage anyone with dogs that love to go on walks, or young kids, to look up events !
Sara W — Google review
What I like. It’s a state park, so the price is low. The park is very clean, including the bathrooms. There are plenty of pavilions for family events. I notice law enforcement driving through several times. That should deter bad behavior. What I don’t like. No Wi-Fi and poor cell coverage. You don’t go camping to be on the internet; however, it's hard to go days without some connectivity to the world. This place is small and tight. The park is a little too cozy for me. Would I stay here again? No. If I needed something in this area, I would stay at the KOA across the street.
H.E. W — Google review
Everyone here was absolutely amazing! Especially the camp host. I fractured my wrist on this camping trip, and absolutely everyone at this site was helpful and kind. Plus the sites themselves have some of the best trees and don’t feel claustrophobic like some other state park sites. The only strange thing is the motion activated showers… there should be a timer or something lmao.

Nature & Parks
Delaware State Park, situated in Delaware, Ohio, is a sprawling 1,700-acre natural haven just 45 minutes north of Columbus. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities such as camping, boating, fishing, and kayaking around the reservoir. Visitors can explore the forested area through trails like Mink Run trail and Briar Run trail that offer scenic views and moderate terrain.
I stayed at the campground here which was the best yet. Level paved parking & electric hook up. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. I didn’t spend too much time in the park itself I did however complete the one looped hike & am going to comment on that. It was pretty easy, flat ground. It was beautiful because the leaves are freshly falling and giving an earthy smell. Heard lots of squirrels and birds in the woods. There is a LOT of spiders in this area - I know because I found them all over my camper and truck bed. I also happened to run into their webs with my face on the hike. It wasn’t bad, but enough to make me panic google if I was going to need medical attention if im bit. Haha, but in all seriousness it’s a simple hike in nature. Just watch those nuts the squirrels throw down- you could easily twist an ankle. Also it’s real quiet and peaceful in here. The hike can be accessed from different locations. I easily accessed from the campground.
Vikki P — Google review
The site we were in was swampy, probably because of a large rain recently - but it looks like it is an ongoing issue because hay had been put down over the mud, and it had been there a little while. Other than that, the site was fine. Because we got there on a Monday (5/19), we nearly had the whole place to ourselves, which was nice fir quiet and solitude. Shower / restroom facilities were clean and updated nicely.
Ethan B — Google review
We are very impressed with the campground. The campground is laid out very well, sites are large and bathroom/shower rooms are clean. The hiking trails we went on were OK. One was very muddy due to all the rain in previous days and had large fallen trees over the path in areas. The beach is very nice as well, with clean bathrooms, and a nice playground area. The dam access was closed due to construction but the park area had 2 amazing playground areas. 1 for smaller kids and 1 for bigger kids. A great area for a picnic. Brand new bathroom as well.

Display of products produced from the first motocross bike to the MAX, which is made close by. Also displays of the importance of racing to Honda.

This place was so cool! Learned a lot about the history of Honda in the United States.

Unique museum telling the story of Honda. Free to enter. Some interesting history, and car displays. Unfortunately no factory tour available. Missed opportunity for some engineering explanation with engine cutaways, but not much description on details. Robotic factory simulation was a good display.

Awesome! Check it out if you are a Honda enthusiast! Happened to be a part of the Ohio Honda Acura meet there.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Zoo
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a sprawling park located about 20 miles north of downtown, showcasing a wide variety of land and sea life. With over 10,000 animals from more than 500 species across six themed areas, visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences like the tide pool and Jack Hanna's Animal Encounters Village. The zoo also offers additional attractions such as the Wilds conservation center, Zoombezi Bay water park for summer fun, and an 18-hole Safari Golf Course.
This was the coolest zoo we've been to. The rides do cost extra but there's so much to do in the zoo that you don't need it. There's so many animals and each exhibit is meticulously planned to provide a nice space for the animal. The zoo flowed well and we really enjoyed the different sections so we knew what to expect for the animals. Great zoo and a great experience.

The zoo itself was great. Very enjoyable and I loved the amount of space the enclosures had for the animals. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is cuz the food is outrageous. $15 for a cheeseburger, $8 for a hotdogs. It cost us $90 just for food for a small party. Definitely pack your own lunch before your visit.

What a great time going. The last time I was here was when I was a child and how it has grown and changed is incredible. Such a diverse choice of animals from different regions of the world. Great displays touching upon conservation, education, and the impact mankind has on wildlife. Many extras with gift shops, food choices, rides, etc. Highlights were the manatee and hyena displays.

Definitely get there in the morning because you’re going to need A LOT of time! The zoo is massive, we got there while there was still 2 hours to closing and barely saw 25% of it! We greatly enjoyed our time nonetheless! We went on a Friday and it wasn’t crowded, the zoo was very clean and we loved how large the enclosures were for the animals. Will definitely come back if we get the chance and spend all day there!

Literally the best zoo we have ever visited! I enjoyed so much of this visit. The lights were going on and it was super beautiful I also didn’t know that Jack Hannah used to work this zoo! If you haven’t been here I highly recommend going!

This is my absolute favorite zoo so far. The wildlife is well taken care of. The aquarium is clean, beautiful, large, it's equally very amazing. The aquatic life is extremely happy. It seems all these animals have great space to be as close to real life as they can get in safety. I love Africa to see everything's so large. The restrooms are spotless. The employees are very kind and helpful. I can't say enough good about my experiences here. It's above in comparison to others I've been to in my surrounding areas. The gorillas have an amazing habitat as well as many other animals habitats there. I spend the night at a hotel so I can enjoy the entire zoo and take my time. I love the reptile building also. I can go on..

We had an amazing day at the Columbus Zoo. The Red Panda experience was absolutely incredible and 100% worth it. Getting to learn about these adorable animals up close was unforgettable. Tom from the Education Team was especially fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell how much he cares about the animals and making the experience special for guests. Highly recommend this zoo and the animal experiences to anyone visiting Columbus!

We had a great time at the Columbus Zoo. So many animals! We've been to many zoos across the US and this is definitely at the top! The large area for the giraffes was incredible. The layout of the zoo was easy to navigate as well. We walked over 6 miles that day! Can't wait to come back!

Water & Amusement Parks
Zoombezi Bay is a thrilling water park located next to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, offering a perfect blend of refreshing water attractions and spooky, zombie-themed experiences. The park features a giant pool, raft slides, high-speed mat races, lazy rivers, and more. In addition to its water rides, Zoombezi Bay also boasts haunted houses and scare zones for horror enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy non-water rides like the Sea Dragon roller coaster as well.
I enjoyed my time there. Kid and adult friendly. Parking only $10 and they have all day rental lockers for an affordable rate. I do recommend wearing water shoes to avoid walking barefoot on high traffic wet areas. It is first come first serve for the tubes at the lazy river but still very enjoyable. They have a “fast pass” option which I thought was nice. Drinks were a little pricey, but they do hand out water cups to make sure everyone is staying hydrated. I thought the burger and fry meal was reasonably priced. You can also bring your own food, get stamped, go out to your car and eat, and come back at no fee. All and all I will definitely go again! Super easy to get to as well!

We had a great time. We got there when the park opened and rented a 21+ lounger space on the same day, but they do advise to book in advance online. For reserved padded lounge chairs in the semi private shade, access to the wait staff and a safe large enough to fit a large shoulder bag, we felt that the $100 fee was worth it. Since a large locker is $22 already. And since we also came in from out of town, the day use of towels included with the lounge rental were a nice bonus. The staff running the bar in that area were friendly and helpful. I would also advise to go to the left side of the parking lot when you arrive for close access to the Zoombezi entrance. If you follow the masses, you are going to end up on the zoo side with a considerable walk ahead of you. Take sunscreen. If this is the one thing you forget, the standard 6oz size spray is $30 on site. 30-40oz of heavily tequila laden margaritas is cheaper than 6oz of sunscreen here.

We went on weekend and it was super crowded. They have lots of fun things for kids and plenty of seating area. There’s no shade on rides. They have separate sheds for seating but you have to reserve them and they charge a lot for those “Cabanas”. It’s worth money if you’re someone who doesn’t mind going to overcrowded places.

Cashless isn't always convenient. Especially for a young person working and having cash they can't spend or having to purchase a card to purchase some over priced and mediocre food. Our pizza was overpriced and was terrible. Pool was shut down nobody knew why I don't know just filled on the organized

Cool place for kids. Def worth it to get the annual gold pass with free parking if you live close by and will visit often. Bring food and drinks, expensive and not that great inside.

It was a lot of fun. The best of all is that there were not many people and we could enjoy all the attractions without queuing.

Field of Corn is an intriguing outdoor art installation located in Dublin, Ohio. The display features 109 larger-than-life concrete corn sculptures arranged in rows, creating a unique and unexpected sight. This quirky attraction offers visitors the opportunity to contemplate themes of agriculture, transformation, and artistic expression while providing a fun backdrop for photos. Situated just outside Columbus, it's a great stop for stretching your legs during a road trip or exploring the surrounding area.
The field was adorned with an array of corn concrete sculptures, each one an intriguing artistry that adds character to the landscape. These sculptures are truly a unique sight, and visiting them at least once in your lifetime is a must for anyone who appreciates creativity in unexpected forms. The area, known as the "cornhedge," offers a captivating environment, complemented by meticulously maintained trees that enhance its charm. Scattered throughout the space are benches, inviting visitors to pause and reflect while enjoying the artistic ambiance. Informative plaques and signage provide context and history about the sculptures and the site, enriching the experience for those who take the time to explore. Overall, the cornhedge serves not just as an exhibition of art, but also as a peaceful retreat where nature and creativity intertwine harmoniously.

Visited Field of Corn in the fall and had mixed feelings about the experience. While it’s an interesting and unique roadside attraction with a quirky charm, there’s not much to do beyond taking a few photos. The giant concrete corn sculptures are certainly a conversation starter, but we expected a bit more in terms of engagement or information about the history behind them. The park itself is well-maintained, and the open space is nice for a quick stop or a short walk. However, if you’re looking for an interactive or immersive experience, this might not be the most exciting destination. Worth a quick visit if you’re in the area, but not necessarily a must-see.

I guess this is the modern equivilent of having a big icecream cone etc on the edge of your district back in the day. Came across this is passing. Unlike the icecream cones etc, there doesn't really seem to be anything set up, old style diner, for example, to take advantage of it and there's no dedicated parking. The corn are all cobs, but lets be honest, that's what we recognise. It seems a bit art for arts sake, but well looked after and an interesting curio.

Just driving thru town and saw these giant corns! It first looked like a Halloween gathering. When Rebel and I got closer, it was a furries party. The costumes were incredible. The giant corns are ce.rnt and just fun. I

This has to be one of the more unique places I have ever visited. I had somehow heard of this place before, and when I realized it was very close to the hotel I was staying at in Dublin, Ohio, I had to go check it out. It is kind of in a big field in front of some business building. We just pulled off the side and got out and walked through it. There were about 4 other cars of people checking it out and taking pics. Nowhere else are you going to find something like this, so if you are in the area, it is worth checking out!

Shucks, where do I even start? This may be one of the corniest roadside attractions in the entire state. We went on Easter since we were passing through the area, and I've gotta say, the Easter bunny has nothing on these ears. Checking out these colossal kernels was definitely the highlight of my trip! If you're in the area and it's a nice day, pop on in and check it out.

Not sure who spent the money, but Chevy Chase would have loved this place while traveling in the family Truckster! They’re over six feet tall!
