Man, what a hike! I would consider this hike Moderately challenging, all dependant on the time of year that you are going. I went in spring so there was a lot of snow and ice still present. Lots of steep inclines. The trail up was very messy and mucky, so wear appropriate footwear. When getting closer to the summit; having spikes/crampons makes a world of a difference as it gets really really slippery. We witnessed quite a few people bail. The last 300m of the hike to the summit is a scramble, and the winds are pretty high so make sure you dress warm. The summit was pretty cold and I was just wearing a hoody, so a wind breaker would be a game changer. I did this hike without any poles, but hiking poles would be very beneficial!! Whole hike took me about 4 and a half hours in total, with lots of stops along the way to take pictures. I would like to do this hike again with the knowledge I have now, as I would be better prepared! The hike is definitely worth it, with some very rewarding views for the amount of effort you put in!

The Ha Ling peak is a well-maintained moderate trail that’s definitely worth the effort. It takes around 3 hours up and down, making it a great half-day adventure. Along the way, there are two scenic viewpoints where you can pause, take photos, and enjoy the stunning surroundings before reaching the top. Good hiking shoes are a must, and it’s a smart idea to bring snacks and plenty of water. The summit can get quite windy, so carrying a sweater or light jacket will keep you comfortable. Another plus is the ample free parking available at the trailhead, which makes access super convenient. Overall, a rewarding hike with breathtaking views—highly recommended!

Beautiful hike. Well maintained and a perfect workout. Hiking poles are recommended as well as be prepared for sudden weather changes. It started raining with hailstones while we were descending.

Great hiking place. It is not supper hard but is not for bigginerns either. There are supposed to be 2 viewpoints before reaching the top. Only one of them is well marked. It is a busy place, so u won't feel alone and a lot of people around to help in case u need it. There are beautiful views, and you have access to 3 different mountains peaks. The route starts from the parking lot (it is big). I got there at 9 a.m., and I was on the top by 11.15 a.m., and I took a nice break on viewpoint 1. After that, the hike gets steeper and is a bit harder 😅 but if you go to your own peace, it's manageable. My recommendations are: Arrive early Bring water or any liquid that keeps you hydrated Do the hike with plenty of time once you reach the top. You might as well enjoy the time there (I was there for like 3 hours i had breakfast, and i took a short nap) Get yourself a good pair of shoes. i got my sneakers on, and they were great, but I saw a lot of people's using boots. I think that you need to pay for a pass because when I was leaving there was a guy talking pictures of the cars plates (be aware of that) The must important have fun and enjoy every step to the top, admired the view and be happy. My family and I have completed this hike a few times. It's definitely one of our favorite hikes when visiting the area. Your legs will burn all the way up but it's worth it for the view and experience. The hike took us 4 hours but that's with plenty of short breaks and time spent at the peak. The parking lot is located just past the construction (gps tells you to park just before it).

Nice hike took me about 3 and half hours there and back, took some breaks and enjoyed the the view at the peak for about 30 mins, definitely worth , hiking sticks will greatly help

Absolutely stunning hike that offers a rewarding challenge. Rated moderate to hard, it took me about 3.5 hours to ascend and 2 hours to descend, making it a perfect day trip. The elevation gain is substantial, adding to the intensity, but the panoramic mountain views from the top are more than worth the effort. What impressed me most was how safe the trail felt, despite being a bit challenging. If you're looking for a hike with breathtaking scenery and a bit of a workout, Ha Ling Peak is a must-do!

The tour was more intense than I expected and I loved it! I've done a cave tour in New Zealand and it was nice, but mostly walking. We did the Adventure tour which had some polished climbing sections , a rappel, and some optional very tight squeezes (The second photo is in the optional Laundry Chute, which was tight but super fun!). This tour was definitely worth the cost and I totally recommend it for someone with at least moderate fitness

Canmore Cave Tours is SO much fun! I brought a group of 7 to do the Adventure Tour. Our guide Annie was so knowledgeable and kept us calm and safe while exploring the caves. I highly recommended doing a tour with them, I gained so much confidence in myself and it was such a good way to bond with my friends (who are all different body shapes & sizes). When we left the cave, my friends and I all said we want to go AGAIN or maybe even take a caving course with them!! Additionally, if you have any hesitations or questions, their admin was super helpful and informative.

Amaaazing adventure 🫶! Loved it! I took the Adventurous Tour — we started around 10:15 am and finished about 4 pm. We met at the office, tried on our overalls and gloves, grabbed our gear, drove a short distance, and then hiked about 30–40 minutes up Grotto Mountain. At the shelter, we had some snacks, got fully geared up, and headed off to the caves. We spent about 3.5 to 4 hours inside, and it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted! We rappelled about 20 meters into the dark, squeezed through the “Laundry Chute,” and explored so many cool spots. It was so peaceful and full of great memories. Since it was shoulder season, there were only five of us — we had the whole cave to ourselves! Our guide, John, was patient and full of amazing stories about wildlife and geology. Wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommend — thank you!🫶🫶🫶

What an incredible experience this adventure with Canmore cave tours was. My sister, my son and I went on an epic cave tour of the rats nest cave by Canmore. Holy moly!! I can’t say enough good words! Our cave guide Annie was super amazing!! She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and very encouraging! She definitely helped us push our limits today. It was just an all around super day!! Thanks so much!! 20/10 experience. 10 stars, five isn’t enough!!!!

We did the adventure tour with Brent. It was our first time in a cave, and it was the best outdoor (indoor?) experience of my life. Brent was an amazing, highly knowledgeable, and friendly guide. He was attentive to everyone’s safety without ever being overbearing. He motivated us to push our limits and offered encouragement when needed. The cave itself was stunning, and I only wish we could have stayed longer and explored more. I’m deeply grateful for the experience and can’t wait to one day be back in a cave!

Amazing, awesome, and incredible!! Our group was amazing and our guide Annie was amazing and so friendly! Even when someone in our group dislocated her shoulder (not at all anyone's fault, it's an old injury), Annie was very calm and reassuring and she and John helped her slowly back up and got her out! Anyways very good very fun, we all had an amazing experience!! 10000/10 stars, would do again!!

Soo glad I finally made it to Upper Kananaskis Lake! This place is honestly a hidden gem. The whole lake is surrounded by mountains and pine trees—just pure, peaceful nature everywhere you look. I found my perfect little spot by the water to just sit, breathe, and completely unwind. The air feels so fresh, you can hear the soft sound of the waves, and the views are unreal. Spent hours just exploring the trail, taking photos, and honestly just having fun. It’s one of those spots where you instantly feel calm and happy. Already planning my next visit! If you’re craving a peaceful outdoor escape, Upper Kananaskis Lake is totally the place to be.

Sunday October 26, 2025, I drive my old friends wth my wife and the view was stunning with the mountain backdrop. Definitely recommend for any age groups.

It was snowy and foggy when we arrived here but the view is still stunning and breathtaking. The snow peak was hidden and veiled by fog and clouds, like everything slows down. Kids were having fun by the lake and I gained the inner peace here. Totally worth to detour and hang out. We would like to check out next time in summer.

Beautiful spot to visit! 🌲✨ A few things to keep in mind: • You’ll need to buy a Kananaskis Conservation Pass in advance ($15). • No mobile signal in the area, so be prepared. • Very accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. • Multiple parking areas available—if one is full, just drive a bit further. • Great picnic areas and even BBQ spots. The place is so quiet, peaceful, and perfect for a family day out. Highly recommend!

Excellent spot to enjoy a nice day out with family or friends. There are plenty of picnic spots spread out around the entire pond and most have bbq/fire pits. The path around the pond is well maintained and it’s a nice, easy walk. There are also benches along the water to stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It does get busy so get there early to secure the perfect spot! There is plenty of parking, and some restrooms. It is at the end of the paved portion of the road and keep in mind that the road is closed in winter. A Kananaskis pass is required in this area.

This was a beautiful walk - kid and stroller friendly and the views of the mountains were breathtaking!! This was our first time coming and won't be out last - especially only being 50 min from Calgary!!!

I recently visited forgetmenot pond, and the experience was both peaceful and refreshing. The natural scenery was stunning — calm waters surrounded by lush greenery, birdsong in the background, and a light breeze that made the whole atmosphere feel serene. Whether you’re looking to relax, enjoy a picnic, or go for a walk, the lake is a perfect spot. Definitely gonna come back.

Every time we want to spend a fun afternoon with family and friends, we come here. The size of the pond is perfect for kids and adults to go in on a boat or even take a swim, while you can picnic or bbq your favourite meals. Parking is very limited so make sure you arrive really early in the morning since this place is very popular.

Please buy Kananaskis Pass to avoid any potential tickets or trouble. $15 for 1 day. So expensive but it's per vehicle. There is no wait time at this beautiful park but expect tons of people taking up benches and picnic tables. If you want to guarantee a spot of your choice on the weekend arrive by 9am. Tons of people and kids on the water, paddle boarding and playing. Pet friendly and absolutely BBQ and family friendly. Canopy is a good idea for the sun and bug spray good idea for the mosquitoes. I also recommend sunscreen when it's super sunny and hot. The water at forget me not pond is ice cold. It barely ever warms up and takes a while to get used too. Bathrooms are regular outhouses and stink but not much to expect here. Limited parking is an issue. It is absolutely first come first served. People park where it says no parking and do anything it takes because parking does run out. This location has no service and really no service within 10-15km based on our drive. Make sure your family/party knows what they are doing and where they are going. Small wagens or dollies are good for transporting coolers and gear because your spot may be a 5min walk away. You are allowed to drink at designed tables and fires are fair game. Check for fire bans in case. Clean up your garbage to keep this park as clean as possible. Always a great time having parties and events at forget me not pond. A must see!

Firstly, google the rocky mountain house campground and you will be directed to the wrong location. On the email confirmation slip it says exactly "Rocky Mountain House Campground" Second, we have 2 cars and we're told one needs to be in the parking lot and only one can be on the campsite(pic of 1 car on campsite attached) for no other reason then "rules are rules". Theres campers and RVs parked 3 times the size taking up the whole road. Dogs barking, generators running. Third, You cannot use your own firewood and have to buy theirs(which is normal for campgrounds but still feels like a money grab) Fourth, they had no power when we showed up but no big deal because its not like we can do anything about it. Fifth, nobody really cares to update or upkeep the signage to learn. Only the signage with the rules is surely made obvious. Sixth, All bathrooms are closed and we are told to walk 10 mins to get to an outhouse. And lastly, employees are taught to be nice and accommodating but one guy keeps smiling like he's a psychopath at people. Way overboard. My uncle used to work for parks canada and now I understand why he's such an annoying person. I guess its just part of the job. I'll never camp at parks canada again and will probably cut my stay here short. There's no one to blame but myself. Live and Learn.

I love everything about this campground ❤️ Washrooms smell good and so clean. Huge field so we got to play football and badminton. Perfect for group camping with kids.

This place is amazing. Great shower / bathroom facilities. Just had an amazing Sunday breakfast (Sundays only I believe). Right on the beautiful Saskatchewan River. Lovely grounds to walk around. Friendly/ helpful staff.

This was my first time at this campground. There was a mix up with my booking, but they straightened it up. Unfortunately, I had to have a day shorter in my trip. But they did go out of their way to get me a good tenting spot and that they did. I was very impressed my disappointment. Because of my mix up with booking did not bother me any longer. This place is fantastic. Staff is fantastic. I was struggling to set up my tent and a young gal drove by, and she offered her help and we got it set up. She was fantastic. I got what delivered right to my sight. It's a little pricey, the wood But he ended up buying 20 bags anyway. In total, I'll definitely go back there. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful campground! We were really surprised by how nice it was and are looking forward to coming back. Lots of trails around and some historical information. The cabin was awesome - had everything you needed to make the best out of your camping trip. Would highly recommend!

This is a beautiful campground with many historical artifacts scattered throughout. We loved sleeping in the tipi, and I'd love to come back and stay in a trappers cabin. We enjoyed the on-site Sunday breakfast!

Great picnic spot. Day use only. Each site has a fire pit with a grill and a picnic table and the sites are large enough to accommodate big family gatherings. The site are very close to the river, some of them right alongside it. There is not a lot of space between sites but they are decently private and the rushing river blocks the sound. Some sites are a bit farther from the rest. This is along the elbow river trail so you can make a nice day of exploring the trails

This was a great area to stop for a BBQ lunch!!! There is a few picnic tables,they were all taken, and very close together.. . We enjoyed our lunch on the rocks !!! River runs through this area !

Beautiful location along the Elbow. Lots of picnic sites and all have fire pits. Not as crowded as Bragg Creek Provincial Park or the main campgrounds. A nice hideaway.

I've been going to this place for years. The flood of 2013 has changed the landscape, however, I still love it there. There are picnic tables available, so pack a snack and spend the day out in nature. Lots of parking available.

Great amusement park for kids and parents/families, and lots of stuff for teens too. So many rides toddlers can go on if they are tall enough. Even when the parking is packed it is not too big of a wait for a lot of the smaller rides. The water rides are a long wait and close an hour before closing time. Lots of bathrooms around. Lots of food options. Shaved ice and pineapple dole whip is vegan. Cool Halloween vibes when summer season is over. Decorated all throughout the park.

Coming into the parking lot, everyone was parking to the left as it looks like they are building something on the right. They have lots of people waving you in telling you where to park. They have many booths to pay for your tickets as you go in. I do recommend buying your ticket online before going in. When you went to the park you can go to the left or to the right. I recommend going to the roller coaster first. The lineups can get quite long. The roller coaster and the log ride usually get the longest lines. The staff is very friendly and the park is very clean. I do find the water is expensive there so bring your own water to drink. They do have an area with lots of picnic tables for you to have a lunch. I have a 2 year old and he could go on about nine rides. When my daughter was 9 she could go on every single ride. Overall I do like this park. I do believe it is time to add some new rides. We went September 14th and they had Halloween days starting. They had parades and they had people dressed up everywhere.

The park is great, especially for kids and probably some teenagers up to around 14 years old. There are lots of fun rides for children, bright swings, and a Parade of Fairy-Tale Characters (they were handing out delicious candies). We also bought some food — the fries were very tasty. There are small lines for the restrooms. We’ll definitely visit this place again!

I visited Calaway Park and had a fantastic time! The park was spotless, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was full of energy. It’s clearly a perfect spot for families—so many smiling kids and parents enjoying the day. Whether you’re with a group or on your own, it’s a fun, well-run park that’s worth the visit!

IF YOU WANT A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE WHOLE FAMILY, THIS IS IT! Amazing experience! They have rides for kids rides for adults, add rides for really small kids as well! There are lineups and that long. The most We ever waited was about half an hour. It is $52 to get in the dollars to get in the door if you are 13 to 65 years of age.

Great value. Lots of rides and activities for my 5 and 7 year old kids. Did not have to wait more than 5-10 minutes for the rides. We would come back for sure. We liked the magic show.

Fun lil park. Definitely for kids - we had fun for maybe 2 hours and that’s all there is to do as an adult. It’s closer to Calgary - the only perk. There were some rides that charge you additional $2-$5 on top of the entry ticket. Haunted house was a joke. Extremely long queues. Overpriced snacks and drinks. Meh! If you want to visit on a weekend, plan ahead cos parking is going to take you a long time.

Having provided music at the Eau Claire Distillery for several events over the years, if you're searching for a great venue. I would absolutely recommend them for holding weddings, anniversaries and corporate events. The staff are friendly and accommodating to their clients needs. The atmosphere is unlike any other. You can hold your event indoors and out. 5 Stars!

Finally made it here after all these years. What great staff and a beautiful patio. The food and the cocktail flight were amazing.

Chicken Fried Sandwich! Great service, great drinks and terrific service. We returned this year only to experience the same amazing service and food. I had them add fresh jalapenos and spicy chipotle to my fried chicken sandwich this time and I don't think it could have been better. The others in my party purchased several spirits from the distillery and we chatted about what a great experience it was again. I also had the Fahr zero beer and found it delicious.

OUTSTANDING!!!! From the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave, you are treated with care, attention, and respect. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The staff were happy, respectful, helpful, and knowledgeable. The manager was so cheerful and so happy to share the history of the Distillery, the buildings, and the products. And the food ... oh my goodness, the food ... BEYOND AMAZING!!! I will return ... frequently!!! Thank you for the best lunch experience!!!

The Eau Claire Distillery was such an incredible place to have our wedding! Jen and Mallory went above and beyond to make our wedding go off without a hitch. Jen managed the entire event: set up, schedule, flow, bartending, electronics and take down. I cannot recommend the staff enough, everyone was professional and friendly. We were lucky to have London create personalized cocktails for our wedding. He made it very difficult to choose a cocktail, as all of them were delicious. The venue is incredibly unique and offers so many different elements. From the private speakeasy, to the beautiful covered patio, the distillery and the whisky room. These all made for amazing photo opportunities. I cannot recommend this venue enough. I’m still dreaming of our magical wedding here!

My daughter and I visited the Distillery on Tuesday, September 9th around 1:15 PM, hoping to enjoy lunch on the covered patio. We placed our order and waited… and waited. After about 45 minutes, I approached the cook, who informed me that our order had been missed entirely. I was shocked — there were only two other couples on the patio: one had already finished eating, and the other was only having drinks. Frustrated and hungry, we decided to leave. I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of service and do not plan to return. This experience was unacceptable.

Family of mine live in Turner Valley & they alway rant & rave about this distillery. Since we were visiting, and they only live 1 block away, I decided to walk over. The Christmas Gin is what made me check out Eau Claire & right off the hop I was impressed. Everything about it is appealing to the eye. I would like to return in the spring/summer, when seating outside would be possible but there were happy patrons seated inside. I picked up too many & was sent back the next day to grab more for friends & family who heard about my experience. We dealt with a very lovely lady who gave us a tasting & although I didn’t get a big bottle, I did enjoy it! Definitely a HUGE selection from bottles to merch. I really loved their story & how they go about making their liquors as well as reading about all their copious awards!!!

What a sweet surprise to come across the Bar U and learn so much about some true Alberta history. Ross and Shane were amazing tour guides that showed us around the whole ranch. Definitely a great day getaway!!

Absolutely loved this stop! The parks staff were excellent with our group. We had a combination walk about on our own and guided tour. The staff knew the history not only of the Bar U but also provided a cross section of history across the US and Canada for the time period and how it was all woven together with life today on the prarires. Extremely well preserved piece of our history. Definitely enjoyed the Cowboy coffee portion. Bravo to all. Thank you to Lisa J. for assisting in our visit!!

What a place! Something for everyone — history buffs, nature lovers, animal fans, horse fanatics. We spent twice as long there as we thought we would because we became fascinated by the stories told of the various owners and ranch hands, the life on site prior to it being a ranch and what life was like back in the pioneer days. Interesting history of the Percheron breeding program. We saw artifacts, experienced the life (lasso, riding wagon, sampling cowboy coffee (liked it!)) and peppering the knowledgeable staff with questions. Highly recommend. You ride the horse-drawn wagon down the hill. The ranch site is flat so easy walking.

This place was a joy to visit. Like stepping back in history. Most of the tour was self-directed, a few costumed interpreters peppered throughout. The buildings are well cared for and true to period. We had a terrific visit!! If you like history, go!!

A pretty cool place to visit. Went there this summer, nothing really special to see since it’s just a farm, horses etc. But our host was super sweet and explained everything to us. We got a chance to draw on wood which was interesting. I don’t know about the prices since I didn’t pay for those, but if it’s high, then I wouldn’t recommend. Overall - farm, with horses,pigs,chickens ect, they offfer a wagon ride, there are picnic tables, post cards, small building to go in ect…

Excellent place for a visit. Well maintained. Staff are very friendly and informative. We have lived in Calgary for 35 years and driven by many times but I urge all southern Albertans to pop by for a visit.

The rancher's daughter told us about the ranching in the area, the importance of the buffalo herds to the health of the prairie, issues ranchers encountered keeping cattle alive and a stories of Charles M Russell, a famous painterof counboy life and experiences. We stayed at the visitor's center but she invited us back to spend time at the ranch over the knoll to learn more of ranch life. Wish we had the time.

The Okotoks Erratic, also known as the "Big Rock," is an incredible natural landmark and definitely worth a stop. It's amazing to see such a massive boulder in the middle of the prairie and learn about its glacial history. The site is open 24/7, so it's easy to visit anytime, and there's plenty of parking nearby. There are walking paths around the rock with informational signs that explain its geological and cultural significance. It's also a popular spot for photos, short hikes, and even just a peaceful break when driving through the area. There aren't many amenities on-site, so bring water and snacks if you plan to stay a while. Overall, it's a fascinating and unique stop for anyone interested in nature, geology, or Alberta history.

We went to the Buffalo Jump Head Smashed in the other day and were blessed to hear the Napi story about the rock from a Blackfoot guide. We came to the rock just to admire it and weren’t disappointed. Such a great piece of history and nature.

Beautiful to see and history behind it accessible to all. Very annoying to see lots of people climbing the barriers and climbing the rocks and disrespecting the land despite clear signage to not climb. Do not climb and do not leave a trace please do not litter. Beautiful landscapes, and great to see if you’re in Okotoks.

As the name suggests a big rock in the middle of the grassland. It was Intersting to read the information boards about about how the rock got here from Jasper. Good place just to relax and unwind. There are many parkings and a gravel road leading up to the rock. The only big negative was the state of the public toilet. It was gross and smelled badly. I am not sure if it is always like this.

Not bad if you are in the area or interested in geology. The whole area is quite scenic and rocks jutting out are definitely interesting.

Heritage Park in Calgary is a fantastic destination for a family outing. The park stands out for its welcoming policy on food and drinks, allowing visitors to bring their own and enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere—a rare perk that saves a lot on expenses compared to other parks where you can easily spend over $100 just on meals. Though tickets are on the pricier side at $36 for adults and $26 for kids, the experience is worth every penny. The park is meticulously managed, from parking to rides and everything in between. It’s incredibly clean, with free water fountains and spotless washrooms, ensuring a comfortable visit. Highly recommended for a day of fun and relaxation!

Really enjoyed coming here. It's like Disneyland, but better, because you can actually learn something about actual frontier life and how Alberta came about as opposed to some fantasized version of how things were. Plus, the Vaudevillian performances were really entertaining. There was something that happened, I don't want to go into the details, but I want to take a chance to thank the staff for handling the incident professionally and being very kind to me and my party.

An absolutely wonderful place! The ticket price is well worth it, as it covers more than just a visit to a village—it's an immersive experience. During your visit, you'll watch over five short theater performances, each lasting at least 30 minutes, depicting the rich history of the area. The actors and actresses are incredibly talented, making the stories come to life. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt that one day isn't enough to fully appreciate everything this place has to offer. The staff members are all kind and helpful, providing excellent explanations about the site, especially the lady in the mine. You can begin your journey from the parking lot by taking a charming streetcar ride.Unfortunately, the gift shops didn’t have any magnets from this village, which was a bit disappointing.

This is such a wonderful place to visit. Everyone here always makes sure that you are having a good time. Everyone is in costume and stays true to the character they are portraying. There is a steam engine train you can ride as well at the steam ship that goes out along the reservoir. There are tractor rides and horse-drawn wagon rides, all of which are free with admission. There are midway rides for people of all ages. The general store and ice cream shop sell delicious treats, and the bakery is always making fresh baked items for sale. Every exhibit is authentic and has a plaque to describe its original location. There is so much to do that you can easily spend a full day here and not see everything there is to see.

I really enjoyed this place. Wow! If you have children, they will enjoy it as well. I recommend going on the steam locomotive at Shepard Station or riding the S.S. Moyie first (in the same area) then do the other after. After experiencing these attractions, wander the property. Cool off with a local brew at the Wainwright Hotel & Bar Room.

Truly amazing experience! All employees were very friendly and welcoming. So much things to do and have fun. We were visiting Calgary for the first time and Heritage Park was the best part of the trip. My son had a blast riding a real steam train. All the family had great time.

Came here for Folk Fest and it did not disappoint! It is an amazing venue to hold such a popular festival. There are multiple stages with remarkably good sound systems and plenty of natural grass to sit on. The breeze from the river sure is welcome under the hot sun 🌞 There is a great big children's playground here that is quite popular. The benches around it are perfect for parents to sit at while letting their kids burn off their energy. In the Spring there are plenty of Canada geese that nest 🪺 and prepare their goslings for life outside the nest. With all of the natural beauty it is a great escape from the urban jungle just across the bridge.

Super nice quiet park in the heart of downtown. Lots of space, large trees, benches, flower gardens. With the river on both sides it really is a quiet area. Everyone at the park is doing the same thing - just enjoying. Can be super busy on summer weekends or holidays. So bicycling can be a slow process because of the crowds!

Excellent park with broad walkway, washrooms, great view of river and downtown, must visit this park if you are at peace bridge. You can even rent a neuron e bike/scooter to stroll around. Great place to spend a nice evening. Lots of picnic spots were available both shaded and unshaded. Public washrooms were at the River Cafe there is even a playground with lots of kids activity for kids to have fun. Highly recommended park in the heart of Calgary. Nice park, not far from downtown Calgary if you're on foot. It was cold and windy when we went there, but the parked seemed nice nonetheless. We saw many squirrels and there are beautiful flowers everywhere. Also a good spot to take some pictures of Bow River, but in a sunny day it must be much nicer.

I parked at the Crescent Heights scenic point and walked into the Prince’s Island Park via the connecting stairs. Pro: I did not need to worry about parking and could instead focus on how BEAUTIFUL the park was and how joyful the people were. Con: I had to walk up a gazillion stairs to get back to my car. Depending on your enthusiasm for cardio, this con can become your pro as I saw a bunch of people exercising by running up and down the stairs. I cannot relate. This may be an ignorant American viewpoint, but are Canadians just that much happier and healthier?? I went on a 2-mile (sorry I don’t know what that is in kilometers) walk around the park and not only did I see beautiful views, I also interacted with lovely people. There were many recreational enjoyers of the park and they took the time to look me in the eyes and smiled at me?? The camaraderie was off the charts. With that said, I feel for the homeowners who live right next to the park because they have to deal with very loud car pollution from the road (side facing Crescent Heights). While walking back to my car, I did have the thought that I should’ve brought my noise canceling headphones because it was so loud that I could not think. If the city of Calgary can invest in safer streets by converting that arterial road into bike and pedestrian paths instead, that would make the park experience that much better. It is my wishful thinking, and I think it could work since driving on that road didn’t seem all that stress-free either. It was clogged up with anxious drivers waiting to get the heck out of there, and it was where I heard the first loud horn during my stay in Canada.

Nice place to take a stroll. It is nice to see the park under every different seasons. You will appreciate to sit on a bench and read a nice book while enjoying the scenery. There is a cafe situated in the park if you want to enjoy a hot beverage. Squirrels and ducks will be your companion in your journey.

I visited this park during July end. The park is very beautiful and clean. The neighborhood is lovely. The park is on the banks of Bow River. Water is dark blue and looks very scenic. However, parking was limited. We went to the peace bridge, and even though it was under construction, the bridge looked beautiful.

The Calgary Tower is a great way to get a full view of the city. The observation deck gives you a 360° look at Calgary and the Rocky Mountains on a clear day. The glass floor is a fun experience and makes for some great photos. The staff are friendly, and the elevator ride to the top is smooth and quick. The visit itself doesn’t take too long unless you plan to eat at the restaurant, but it’s still worth it for the views and the unique perspective of the city. Tickets are a little expensive for the short time you spend there, but it’s one of Calgary’s most iconic landmarks and a nice stop if you’re exploring downtown.

It's so beautiful to see the lights of the city light up below! We went after a long day of travelling and sightseeing so we were casually dressed, but you can dress up super fancy too! The Calgary Tower turned out to be an excellent stop on our trip. Admission is roughly half the price of Toronto’s CN Tower, and since the Calgary Tower is about half the height, it feels like a perfect trade-off—great value without compromising the experience. We timed our visit for around sunset and it couldn’t have been better. The views of downtown Calgary, the Bow River, and the Rockies glowing in the evening light were absolutely stunning. From the glass floor to the 360-degree panorama, every angle offered something memorable. Overall, the Calgary Tower provides amazing scenery and a fair price point that makes it easy to recommend. If you can, plan your visit for sunset—you’ll catch the city at its most beautiful.

It was definitely worth going once! You get to see the city from a view point that’s quite amazing. However it is super important to figure out what time you should go there. I wouldn’t go again though because I do not think the ticket prices are worth multiple visits.

We didn't buy the ticket to the top but we had a dinner in 360 sky restaurant at the top of the tower. The foods were out of the world and the price was right for a sky tower restaurant. We spent $200 incl tips there, while we spent $500 in Look up tower restaurant in Vancouver, ever the foods here much better than Vancouver. We don't have to wear fancy dress here, casual is okay.

It could have been just the time of your but it was really difficult to get to this event. Many of the streets were closed. We could not get an Uber anywhere. Could not get taxis. The facility itself was decent inside with a good selection of food. The seeding in the stands a bit tight in places didn't appear. It was built with adults with semi-limited ability to get in and out of the area.

It is truly the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. The rides, animals, free swag, sponsored activities, free pancake breakfasts, spirit of the west, cowboy theming, spirit of community, games, and fun new foods are just so exciting and satisfying. The only drawback is that the price for food and drinks has skyrocketed out of control that it drains your wallet dry and takes away from the experience. They need a food price cap and a $2.00, $5.00, $10.00 and $15.00 menu offering or something as the prices for food appear unreasonably high. Other than that, you gotta try the dill pickle pizza as it’s fantastic! The poutine and fish and chips are good too!

Stampede is awesome! Coming for 2 years now and loving it. Such amazing human energy, concerts, and multitude of things to do. Cows, tanks, food, drinks, music, cowboy hats, gotta love it.

The main advice for everyone coming next year: make sure to grab an event map at the entrance. There are many free activities besides the Rodeo, but you won’t find them easily if you don’t know where and when they take place. The Stampede is always crowded, but it’s not only about the Rodeo and food.

Went to the Flames vs Jets hockey game on Saturday November 15 2025 at the Saddledome. Good seats, decent burger and beer special at low pre-game price if get there about an hour before the game starts. Security screening at entry much less intrusive than past years. Staff smile way more. Place very clean. Newer sound system better, but cranked too loud which may be on purpose. Saw little kids with hearing protection head sets on. New center ice screens way better. Good contests anc candid shots of spectators on screens engaged the crowd. Bonus was the Flames win in exciting OT shootout!

If you haven't been to the Calgary Stampede, you need to go, at least once. Billed as The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth you'll want to take in the music (Country of course), food, drinks, rodeo, midway rides, and don't miss the Grandstand Show. No expense spared for the best fireworks display I've seen to end the show. Food wagon options include what you may expect at a fair. Some creative combo's along with the expected, such as a smoked Turkey Leg. (a bit pricey at 33.00). Be prepared for line ups and crowds. Advance purchase of admission tickets eliminates at least 1 line. You'll have a great time if you take in some of this 10 day event, and don't forget your Cowboy hat!

Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth..actually. The rides were so much fun and the showcases in the BMO Centre were awesome. The food stands around the Stampede were amazing but were highly expensive. Getting here was so bad via CTrain, it is so crowded that they couldn’t let people in because it was packed. It was also crowded in Stampede Park of course due to the tourist influx and because it was first day. It was so much fun exploring every inch of the park, one must go to the stampede at least once every time. Would I go back? Definitely. 8/10.

Had an amazing time at the zoo! The staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated how clean and well-maintained everything was. There were also plenty of places to take a break, grab a snack, and just enjoy the surroundings. Washroom available in every area. The staff and volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions or share insights about the animals. The exhibits are engaging and informative, making it a great experience for kids and adults alike. I would highly recommend for any age.

Great way to spend your day. Lots of parking fast lines, lots of animals. Most were pretty sleepy while we were there, except the wolves who were prancing around and coming right up to the glass. Tickets are cheaper if bought in advance. I took way too many photos and had a lovely day.

I love visiting the Zoo with my kids. We have coming for over 20 years now. I started coming when I moved to Calgary over twenty years ago. I have enjoyed seeing all the animals. 20 years ago I loved seeing the kangoos and the elephants. When they had bats I didn't like the bats but that is my own phobia of bats I had since I was a child. I remember seeing the sloth back then and one of favorite animals The Kolas. We love ❤️ seeing the Pink Flamingos 💗 and is one of the first ones we go see now. We love the pandas. My son loves the komodoo dragons they are his favorite. We love the Zoo Christmas Lights. We love seeing the red pandas and Tigers and the various animals and birds and the butterfly exhibits when we go visit the zoo. We always enjoy seeing the animals ❤️. In my son's words it's a really cool experience.

Honestly, the Calgary Zoo is way better than I remembered. The layout is really nice since it’s right on the river, but man, it is a lot of walking just like the Toronto zoo! so definitely wear your best/most comfortable running shoes! The penguin plunge is the winner for me seeing them swim that fast underwater is wild. Also my favorite animal lol. The lemur enclosure where you walk right in with them is super cool too. I’d the food it’s can get pretty pricey for basic burgers. But still delicious! If you wanna save a buck just pack a lunch and eat on a bench or find a nice shaded grass spot. If you go for ZooLights in the winter, dress warmer than you think you need to. It gets windy!

Amazing place for a family day out! We visited with kids and everyone had a great time. The grounds are very clean and well maintained, with lots of shade and beautifully designed animal enclosures. We were especially impressed by the penguins, tigers, and the dinosaur park — so realistic! My little one loved the kids’ zoo where you can feed the goats. Staff were friendly, and the café had a nice variety of food. A perfect spot to spend the whole day with family. We’ll definitely be back!

The Zoo is always a great place to visit. However it is a seasonal place, even though they are open year round. We saw lots of animals, but Prehistoric Park was closed along with every food vendor and refreshment stand except for Kitamba Cafe which is an indoor restaurant. I understand this, but my suggestion would be to maybe open certain areas up, weather permitting, so that on the nicer days people still have an opportunity to experience as much as possible. Other than that, it was a great time.

Lots of construction throughout areas of the park. The only food location opened was by the gift shop, when exiting the zoo; every other food location was closed. Tickets should be discounted during this time. Parking was easy. Staff working in the gift shop were exceptionally friendly.

Let's be clear, this isn't Disney land but it is a nice 20min walk in a quiet setting with interesting plants and trees to look at. Be patient finding the parking lot, the signage isn't that clear but if you turn right in front the main gate to the garden you'll hit the lot.

This is truly a hidden gem! It is a gorgeous place for a walk, and the grounds are kept in immaculate condition. There are both paved and gravel paths, with lots of little bridges to cross over. Takes 25-30 minutes to walk through it all. Just a beautiful spot to check out!

Delightful, unexpected quaint place with amazing views. Tranquil, sounds of nature and beautiful gift shop, restaurant and bakery. Close to the city, a new found place of peace and a great quick place to hangout , shop eat and I cant wait to attend an event. I went midweek off season and it was still worth the drive. So pretty like a little western town full of architecture and detail. Friendly staff and animal mascots, cats and a dog roam around this working farm. Highly recommended for an outing and no entrance or parking fees. My new happy place.

This place was such an unexpected delight on our summer road trip through Calgary! The moment we pulled in I thought, wow, this is gorgeous! You could honestly spend the entire day here just wandering around, exploring, and soaking up all the sights and sounds. The farmers market was amazing, bursting with fresh produce, pickled goodies, meats, milk, honey, and the most beautiful handmade treasures. The shops gave me total Anthropologie vibes!!! I’m obsessed, honestly! And if my wallet would have let me, I could have happily bought one of everything. From clothing to home goods, everything was just so thoughtfully chosen and so pretty!! The people were just as wonderful! Everyone we met had a smile and made us feel so welcome. Outside, there were turkeys and chickens happily strutting about and a breathtaking valley view that felt like a postcard come to life. We snapped photos, soaked it all in, and even enjoyed lunch overlooking that view, absolute perfection! This place is pure magic!!! If you ever get the chance to stop here, please do. It’s the kind of place that fills your heart with joy and makes a road trip feel unforgettable!!

Nice place, a cross between a garden centre and a disney old west town, but not so big. If you walk through there are fantastic views over the valley. The food was very good. The gift shop is very expensive!

The café serves delicious, fresh food — their Saskatoon berry pie is a must-try! 🍰 Staff were friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. We enjoyed our visit to The Saskatoon Farm. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting, and the service was friendly. The food was tasty, nicely presented, and portions were generous. The variety on the menu is great, and it’s a good spot for both families and couples. That said, the service felt a bit slow at times, which kept it from being a perfect experience. Overall, it’s definitely worth visiting and we would come back again.

Firstly, I have to say that I’ve been coming to The Saskatoon Farm for years, and it has always been one of my favourite places to visit. I’ve never had a bad experience here: the selection of items for purchase is excellent, the markets are always well-organized and fun, the food has never let me down, and the produce is fantastic. So when my (now) husband and I started wedding planning, it was a no-brainer that this would be our top choice for a venue! We recently got married here, and my appreciation and love for The Saskatoon Farm have only grown. Our first tour was with Elena, who also became our main point of contact over the next year and a bit leading up to the wedding. She was incredibly thorough in answering my many (many!) questions and always got back to me in a timely manner. Both Elena and Nicole were also so helpful during our final walkthrough and in the days leading up to the wedding, whether it was during our decor drop-off, floral prep, or set-up instructions, it was clear how much they cared about ensuring we felt at ease and excited for the big day. The wedding day itself couldn’t have been more perfect; it truly was a dream come true. The entire team executed my vision flawlessly: from the custom cocktail hour menu, to the ceremony and reception set-up, to the thoughtful organization of the gift and guest book table, every detail showed so much care. Throughout the evening, they made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible, and I’m endlessly grateful we chose The Saskatoon Farm as our wedding venue. I also have to add that the space itself is PERFECT for a wedding. I highly recommend booking the Sunny Studio for getting-ready photos; it was spacious, beautifully lit, and we were even able to order breakfast and drinks right from the restaurant below. We also chose to add the flower baskets to the ceremony space (the lath house), and that was absolutely the right decision. And finally, I can’t recommend the Saskatoon berry pie enough for dessert! Our guests complimented all the food that evening, but the pie with ice cream was truly unforgettable. We’ll always support this business, and they have truly earned our highest praise. I was recommended to check out this museum on r/Alberta. Lots of paintings, pictures, and display cabinets to look at. Lots of personal testimonials from Bomber Command crews to read. Definitely worth checking out this place. The Lancaster is massive and you can tour the interior. They have a BF 109. A rare sight to see.

I've driven past this place for many years and never stopped to visit. I had a chance to visit here during the "Bikers and Bombers" event, and I'm so glad I did. What an amazing place with tons of history and artifacts. Very knowledgeable volunteers and staff made you feel very welcome.

Bomber Command Museum located in amazing little town of Nanton, Alberta. It is a must see! They restore and bring back to life many historic aircraft mainly from WWII. The star of the show is the Lancaster bomber where Carl likes to say “let’s convert some gasoline to noise” and fired up the four V12 Rolls Royce Merlin engines! Spectacular to see and hear! They are also working on rebuilding a Halifax bomber. While at the museum please take a moment to remember the brave men who fought for our freedom at the Memorial wall. Also, I’d like to thank Zarchary for showing me the restoration shop and the work that was being done. Admission is by donation and every dollar helps to keep the museum. So much important history!

Excellent if you love airplanes! Tour the inside of a Lancaster, sit in one of the snowbirds, maybe learn about the dambuster bombing runs. Got the opportunity to see the restoration hangar and meet some of the people working to restore the historical aircrafts.

Fun family outing celebrating 80 years of freedom. Thank you to the staff for a special day remembering those whom made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom…lest we forget! World class museum with very informative and helpful staff. Will be back soon with more visitors.

This was such an experience for us, though from the US, we enjoyed learning from another country’s perspective about military use and history of war. Muldoon (hopefully didn’t botched the name too bad) was knowledgeable and my son thoroughly enjoyed the conversations. Thank you so much❤️

My dad loves airplanes, so I brought him to this museum. When we saw the Avro Lancaster, he was amazed by how huge it is — truly impressive. There were also two replica planes with open cockpits you could check out. Overall, it was a great experience.

Excellent place. Well maintained and landscaped. Friendly staff, knowledgeable, and happy to help. The animals seem happy, well provided for. There are golf carts available if mobility is an issue. The paths around the enclosures are well thought out. Where else can you safely get 3 feet from a grizzly? Highly recommended.

If you have a passion for animals, this is definitely a place worth visiting. The facilities are kept clean and well-maintained, which enhances the experience. I really appreciate the interactions between the animals like the bears, lions, and wolves and their caretakers. It’s a fantastic spot to take your kids and teach them about the importance of caring for animals. I highly recommend it!

It's really a good place to visit. We enjoyed camping and roaming around to see the wild life animals. There is also a bear presentation. So nice! 😉 My whole family enjoyed our 2 nights stay. 💚🌱 The washroom and showers are super clean. Cleaner than hotels😁 We will definitely comeback here. I reschedule our stay here 3 times, they didn't charge us. They are so kind unlike in the other campsite that needs a fee to reschedule it. 🌱

Always a great experience. Team is very knowledgeable. The facility is so clean the wildlife are cared for in such a humane way. Everytime we have gone the keepers are always ensuring the enclosures are spotless. It is a wonderful spot for all ages. Skip the zoo and support a local community you wont regret it. Golf carts are available for ease especially for those who have a harder time walking longer distances. Pack a lunch and spend the day, or pop by the concession for a snack.

Price quite high but beautiful park, many animals in small enclosures despite all the extra un-used land for humans to walk around in. Lots of space for kids to run and play. Very tired and sad looking g animals. Honestly though, they looked very tired or highly lol . Also felt bad for one man lost his 2$ and the poor deer heard the coin go in and waited for over an hour for the treats to come out! Such a tease. So sad. Told 4 staff and not one went to fill the treats. Also this was before noon, so …. Not cool. Would love to see more going I. I. This great place, hire a pro facepainter, sell balloons or hire a balloon clown, so much potential here. Please make the fences larger and help the animals feel more happy/awake ? Many animals stuck to the camp side of fence so was hard to see those ones . Such as camel and lamas… lived the art and nice gift shop. The reptiles should not be I. There first tho g people see who have a huge fear. Should have a more separate area for those types, such as Yyc zoo has.

Overall the site is nice. I would recommend the wildlife park. They have friendly staff, lots to see and you can get fairly close to the animals. Some of the staff work both sides (Wildlife park and campsite). For me I felt that the campsite staff truly did not care about our experience while staying for two nights. We did change our reservation a night before to a cabin, and I was happy that they took the time to do that… but what they didn’t tell us was that there were 5 families using that site for tenting. They crammed us in regardless and they took our full payment for a 6 person cabin stay- even though we had a 4 person cabin (an older version not shown on the website). I asked where we could set up our fire bowl and they said that we have the patch of grass in front of the cabin. Very tight. The next day the large group left so we were able to take advantage of the normal space we would of had. A lot of people left that day so we were enjoying the space. The negative is that because of the lack of people at the campsite, they locked up more of the facilities we had access to. Instead of two washrooms we had one. Same with the showers. Only one was available instead of 4. I feel like they were saving time and effort to clean them, but given there still were campers at the site, people were just having to wait in line. I would recommend staying on a weekday. Weekends are just crammed with people and camp sites are too close together. There isn’t much to do other than fish in the pond, so if you’re not there to see the wildlife, take your business to a real campsite. There is not forest to explore, no open fires (even for cooking) and you have to bring your own water ( or pay a fee). I spend over $400 for two nights. I didn’t see the value for what we experienced.

A must stop. This place was cool. Some walking involved. Rest stops and coverage along the way if it rains. You can rent a golf cart if needed. $20 an hour to rent. Staff were informative and friendly. The main building and bathrooms are in good condition and clean. You get to get pretty close to the animals. There’s even Dino’s along the walk as well as play structures.

Beautiful area, good for biking and walking. Nice view of Red Deer river. Many attractions, great place to have a tea in the Tea House from previous century.

Wonderful area to relax, dog walk, bike or picnic. Very tidy and accessible. The only issue was last time, in the parking lot, a guy was smoking crack in his car and it stunk up the whole area. NOT very cool!

Beautiful park that has it all. There is plenty of parking and easy access for all to the park. There are lots of walking trails and a large playground. There are public washrooms. There is central building that houses the washrooms along with a snack bar and lots of seating. The park itself is peaceful and has lots of outdoor amenities. Lots of benches and picnic tables. You can rent paddle boats to go out on the ponds. There are lots of interesting places and informative information boards to read and learn about nature. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and definitely recommend visiting.

It was a super warm day for October 2023. The walking trails are wonderful with all the beautiful autumn 🍂 colors. The water fountain was sparkling in the sunlight. There are also benches for sitting to enjoy all the views!

It was a great experience. Not only beautiful we had the unexpected pleasure of watching the amazing modernized Merry Wives of Windsor performed by Prime Stock Theatre Bard on Bower. Only one complaint was that the ice cream stand didn't have dairy free ice desserts.

I love this place. Quiet, serene. Paddle boats. Concerts. Ice cream and tea at the Cronquist house. Just good old fashioned family fun. Ohh and right now there's Shakespeare in the Park.

A great place for exploring nature while you walk around the pond and get exercise. Good for the whole family, as there is always something to do or see . Best part is it's free. Except for the rental of the paddle boat's if you want to use them. But they do have a website that posts things that are going on to keep you up to date and if there is a cost or not.

A remarkably well curated nature center. Walking trails, remarkable art. Great science for children. I highly recommend it

Checked out this wildlife sanctuary in the middle of Red Deer today. There is an interpretive center and washrooms as well as meeting rooms etc. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. You can take the paved 1km path or the 4km trail. I chose the 4k going left as it was less climbing versus taking it to the right. It was not crowded and quite a pleasant first visit. If you are looking for a change in scenery go have a look.

Kerry Wood Nature Centre in Red Deer offers scenic trails, birdwatching, and interactive exhibits—a peaceful, educational spot for nature lovers.

I love coming here and to walk and look at the birds. Inside the nature center is really nice and informative. They also sell various kinds of bird seed.

I give this place 5 stars for the beautiful nature it beholds. The building inside is a whole different story - everything is broken and the people at the desk are not welcoming.

Kerry wood nature center is amazing, great Flora and fauna to be seen. The leaves and trees were lush with the previous rain 🌧 Had such a beautiful cool hike with our kiddos, they thought they going on a forest hike. Will be back soon. Love the colors of fall on the trails

I hosted my Pet First Aid class in their theatre room. The staff were amazing, they helped with setup and took care of tear down. They were able to help me get the projector connected and working. They were really accommodating and did everything they could to make sure me and my students had a successful class. I really appreciate their help!

Absolutely adorable and well worth the stop if you're a Trekkie!!! I was charmed and memorized beyond belief by Vulcan and their quirky embrace of all things Star Trek in town. The Tourism & Trek Centre had a great selection of tourist information and a cute little gift store in addition to a few small exhibits.

Okay, if you are a Star Trek fan... you just need to go. You just do, I took my Dad, and he enjoyed the tourism center. When we went there was a random guy dancing. It was a blast. There are a few things to look at all over town, but the true gem is the convention.

Loved this place! There are so many subtle Star Trek references throughout the town. The town itself is named after the Roman god, so don't expect everyone and everything to be Trek-referenced, but the Trek Centre is a great place to visit for any Trekkie, with a Holodeck museum (all the costumes in there are made by a very talented local) and merch from across the series on display.

A very fun place to visit if you like Star Trek (any of them). Free to get in and great souvenirs in the gift shop. Easy parking even if you have an RV. And the town has a couple of restaurants for food.

If you are a Trekkie it is a must stop. The ladies were so lovely and there was a lot of memorbilia to see. Lots of picture opportunities and souvenirs.

Fun and interesting place to visit, especially if you are a Trekkie.

We really enjoyed this visitor center and Star Trek museum. There is a smaller room of Star Trek memorabilia that is donations.

Unfortunately, when we came here, it was closed, but it was still a nice visit. There is a campground nearby, which is nice. We will come here again next year when it is open again.

This ferry is very short and fun for kids. It's functional obviously to get across. It's mostly like a flat piece your car drives on and I think it can fit 4 cars? The whole trip takes 5 minutes maybe even less.

We came at this ferry at around 2150hrs and it was pitch dark, Terry the Guardian Ferry was amazing. He kinda guide us and told us some amazing experiences he had. Just like the other day, he said about 1k has crossed the river that is about 3ft deep only from 8 am till 3 pm. He also does the turning on and off of the pulley system of both ends. Thanks Terry for showing us and entertaining us on that short ride, you’re doing great and we appreciate what you do.

Operates on demand and according to capacity. When I went I was the only car on the crossing. It took about 5 minutes. You will not find a schedule online.

VERY cool!!!! You do not have to come this way but it is a nice change to slow down and enjoy. The guy running the ferry was really nice talking to everyone and happy to share about the area. Great drive down into the valley and back out.

Delivering cars to the other side safely and slowly. Seriously though, this is the slowest ferry I have ever been on ..... but I loved it. Nice and relaxed. Highly recommend when your in the area.

This is a great way to experience a cable ferry and the ferry captain/driver was humourous and super happy to show how the ferry operates. You're allowed to get out of the car, quickly take a peek over the guardrails to see yourself atop the metal contraption being winched across a fast moving river, them quickly hop back in so you can drive off and let the oncoming cars board. Best part! It is free to use this service and the mini adventure is totally worth the driving time / detour.

Absolutely amazing! I was so glad to hear that we would be visiting within our travels, it is the perfect place for anyone who is interested in dinosaurs, evolution but I think even people who are not into museums would enjoy it as it is very engaging with great exhibits. There is a gift shop, a cafe and huge parking lot so many people will fit which also means it will be crowded. The cafe, however, closes sooner than the official closing time so just be mindful of that when visiting.

Visit: October 2025 Very cool museum with so many dinosaurs! It was really really cool to see so many originals and there was a lot of different exhibits to see. Definitely learned a lot. And you can see the passion for dinosaurs in the city and in this museum! I especially liked the Cretaceous zone, as it was a really different vibe and was really cool to see different live plants The cafeteria food was also pretty good and decently priced!

If you want to see amazing dinosaurs and at very affordable adult price, here's where you want to be. 21$ Canadian. This place is incredibly informative, amazing, well put together and laid out building. There's even an area where you can watch through a window and see people working there restoring dinosaur bones and doing the fine parts of preservation needed in the field. nothing but respect for this museum. if you love dinosaurs then here's the place to go!

I really enjoyed visiting the museum again after nearly a decade. I used to live in Alberta, and this was one of the field trip destinations we visited as kids during school. It was also a special place where my family would bring me and my cousins. I’ve always loved it here, there’s so much to see and learn. Coming back brought back a lot of great memories.

This museum is worth the stop! So shocking and exciting how many discoveries are made right in Alberta. The museum was as enchanting as it was educational. I love that they rotate what they have on display- it makes me want to come back even more to see new findings!

Do yourself a favour and go to this museum, you will be impressed! An awesome experience with huge variety and well-curated displays. Even if you’re not a dinosaur nerd, you’ll be able to enjoy yourself here. Great staff, great educational components & great facility overall!

Honestly this is one of the coolest and biggest prehistoric-animal museums I’ve ever been to. The second you walk in it feels like you’re stepping way back in time — all your stress basically stays outside. If you’re into dinosaurs you’ll seriously enjoy how the staff here turned the whole place into a storybook experience.

Such a fun activity to climb into and up the worlds largest dinosaur. Inside it is painted with creative colors and sections of fossil bones inside. When you reach the top you walk out of the dinosaurs mouth. The scenery is rolling hills, sage with the community below.

Visit: October 2025 It was so cool to see! Definitely very large, and it was fun to go up and see all of the decorations inside as well. Definitely something to stop by and see in Drumheller

What an awesome park. My kids had a blast. Very informative, I would recommend any one with kids to come down here and have a look around. Drumheller has a wonderful scenery as well, the layers of rocks makes it a beautiful place to look at fossils.

Come and see Worlds Largest Finosaur - Tyra the Tryanosaurus Rex! She's 86feet tall and what a beaut! Come and see this local treasure before the planned demolition in 2029! Voice your support for Tyra's existence for future generations!! Avoid the extinction!!

Good enough to climb up the world largest T rex's mouth but that is all. Great scenic point up there however there is nothing special. It is said that it will be demolished soon, so it would not be a bad idea to go up as a memorial.

You can’t make a trip to Drumheller without seeing and climbing Tyra the T-Rex! Word is that she is being taken down in Dec 2029 when the lease runs out, so make sure you get here before then! Such a historical landmark since I can remember and sad to learn that she is going to go into extinction forever! It cost us $15 for our family of 3. Is it a money grab? 💯, but it is a fairly affordable experience even if it only takes a few minutes to climb the 106 steps within! You get the view and the clout to say you’ve been in a T-Rex’ mouth and survived! 😀 On a hot day when it’s busy, be prepared for a sweaty and humid wait near the top, as everyone (including us) snags a memory and takes in the view.

A lovely spot for kids in the summer. Free fountain fun outdoor. There are plenty of seats to just enjoy the vibe.

The Willow Creek Hoodoos are absolutely stunning! A hidden gem with breathtaking rock formations and peaceful surroundings. It’s not too crowded, so you really get to enjoy the natural beauty and unique landscapes. Perfect spot for photos, a short hike, or just taking in the views. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I visited this place as a tourist while living in Calgary, and I hesitated for a while, wondering if it was worth driving 200 km to get there. But I was truly amazed — and I’m so glad I went! The views are absolutely breathtaking, with stunning rock formations and landscapes you won’t see anywhere else. It’s definitely a must-visit spot, and you won’t regret making the trip.

A scenic spot that very few know to visit. This is one of the famous locations where a Bollywood movie’s song - Jaadu from Koi Mil Gaya was shot at. All natural formation with enough parking(paid) and good experience.

Lots of history and nature here. No entry fee which was very good . Decent parking spaces. They also had small ice cream booth near Parking which was great as it was super hot when I visited these hoodoos. Wear good shoes as it is bit slippery to walk there.

You can't go to Drumheller without a stop at the museum or The Hoodoos. Lots of safe walkways or venture off on your own. Amazing geography, a 5 minute drive from downtown. Wear appropriate footwear if you intend on exploring. It's free!

Lovely place. Paid parking is available on the opposite side. When I went during the evening time, it was not that crowded however before I was leaving, the place was swamped. But still enjoyed the view.😊Wanna visit there once again, just wanna climb the rocks😍

My wife and I visited Drumheller Willow Creek Hoodoos last summer, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We spent about two days exploring the area, and I have to say—it felt like stepping into another world. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking, unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. The hoodoos themselves are striking, otherworldly rock formations that seem almost too surreal to be real. Walking among them, surrounded by the vast badlands terrain, you get this incredible sense of history and scale. Knowing that dinosaurs once roamed the very ground you're standing on adds a whole other layer of awe to the experience. It’s not just scenic—it’s humbling. We took our time wandering through the trails, soaking in the views, and just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the place. It’s perfect for photography, or even just standing still and marveling at nature’s work over millions of years. If you’re ever near Alberta or planning a road trip through Canada, I highly recommend making a stop here. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Fascinating site, but very surface-level information given in tour. We (two adults) enjoyed the site, though found the Mine Portal Hike to be underwhelming and a very sanitized/basic level of information. I was hoping for more of a "historical documentary" level of knowledge, but the content seemed was appropriate for school children. Don't get me wrong, the tour guide was perky & enthusiastic, and it's not her fault the script was lacking. The tour -previously- included a much longer walk through the coal chute, but unfortunately part of the tunnel has collapsed.

The Tipple and Mine tours were amazing! The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The historic site has a lot of artifacts on the mining history of the area. Great place to go for the day if you are doing multiple guided tours.

Take a guided tour!!!!! You're already here, so get the most out of it. Ashley is a fabulous tour guide. He is super knowledgeable and his love of the stories of the people is evident in how he shares them. The hardhat is unnecessary, but adds some flair to the experience. We found lots of boards explaining the various buildings and machinery. Buying tickets in advance will save you some time!!! Also makes sure you get the time you prefer.

We had a fantastic visit on our way through! A must see along the Hoodoo Trail! We took the Mine Tunnel Hike Tour and our guide Mary was awesome! They answered all our questions and really knew their history! Wished we had had more time to do the other guided tours as well but make sure if Bob is there you stop to learn from him! Such a wonderful gem in the valley we learned so much! We did not buy tickets in advance - got there right at 10 - but would recommend buying in advance if you know you are coming and want to book a specific time for a specific tour - we got lucky and grabbed the last two spots on the mine hike!

Amazing experience and wonderful guides. It was fun and informative. My 14 and 12 yo boys also loved it. We did the processing tour and the train. Make sure to wear closed toe footwear!

Interesting history on the coal mines, lots to read about, good images and interactive. Save your money and don’t do the coal ride. The experience is great without it. Lots of bugs and no shade if you go during the summer.

This is an amazing park to visit. The camping is great. It's family-friendly with a playground as well. There are on-site showers, and the bathrooms are all recently renovated and clean. The views and surroundings are like nowhere else in Alberta. Such a gorgeous place.

This is an amazing provincial park, a must visit! The views are stunning, and the hikes are out of this world! The parking is free of charge as well is the entrance to the park. The main building has a restaurant and a very small convenience store. There are washrooms on location and showers (camping).

Nice place for a day trip if you like a history and want to know about dinosaurs. You can do camping here. Nice restaurants offered good food options. Approximately 3 km circle drive will cover the park and there is a multiple trails with easier to hard you can do in between if you want to explore little bit more. Avoid during rainy day or season.

Amazing experience and well worth the visit. The guided tour starting at fossil display one was a great learning experience. 3 hours hike in the badlands to a dinosaur bone bed. Our guide Andre was both entertaining and a dinosaur walking encyclopedia. Highly recommended. The campground was comfortable, and all facilities well maintained

Once in a lifetime experience! Definitely worth the detour. Not busy in May. The campground wasn’t open yet, but still a nice hike along the trails. Great views and photoshoot opportunities. Bring lots of sunscreens and water.

Stayed 3 nights. Amazing views all over the park. Trails were great. Outhouses are located near camp sites and are well lit. Service centre is fantastic. Nice little bistro serving all sorts of delicious as well as needed pantry items. Showers are very clean cost of $1 for 2 minutes. Laundry room is clean $2 each machine. Visitor centre is lovely, gift shop is nicely stocked. Doggo friendly, keep furry friend leashed and clean up after them. * atm machine is located in the service centre but must get coins from visitor centre.

Such an amazing place! Definitely recommend the trip out. The views are phenomenal, and the guided tours at the interpretive center are worth it 100% (our group had Dustin; he's fantastic, and has such great energy!) I'll definitely be taking my family back here for more camping 😁

Beautiful casino! Great food and friendly staff

I went to this casino to spend 20$ and when I went back to my car, I couldn't start it. The casino's staff try to help me but it wasn't the battery. It was the starter and we were on a Friday night. So one of their staff brought me to my motel so I could go back the next day to find a towing and a repair shop. Thank you so much for your help!

The casino itself is fine and good parking etc however our dining room experience was lacking. We ate at 2 pm when it wasn’t at all busy. A young woman seated us, whom we never saw again, and then a young man raced by and plopped two glasses of water on the table without greeting us or anything. He later returned to take our order but seemed rushed and not friendly. He returned with our food without barely saying a word and he never returned to our table until we were finished eating and gave us our bill. We wondered if he had to cook the food himself or something to be so rushed (there was only one other table of 3 dining besides us in the whole restaurant) And yet I felt obligated to tip him (minimally mind you) That being said the food was good. A bit pricey for a casino restaurant though.

Have been a visitor from MB often but this particular visit was very special as we had the great pleasure of meeting a very special lady TRUDI at customer service desk who is such an awesome lady and true assett to the Casino. Good customer service is a rarity these days hers is AMAZING!!!! Love ya girl ❤️

The bar tender is rude disrespectful and security are cowards. When on machine where talking my family while I on the phone I taking further up I would go or work ever it bad toxic place have talk patrons where u can here them unless back for training cause I went Saskatoon they so polite and nice they go there take lessons I am taking further they all of the coward going a verbal apology but I never enter again this a very toxic place I telling every work there g spend time or money there

Located across from a hotelni stayed at so I ate in the casino restaurant. Had the fish and chips - a "not horrible not stellar" 6 out of 10. Casino was too smoky in the area that was non smoking so I left after eating. Needs better smoking room ventilation or something.

Delicious meal tonight. But beware of up-charges. I ordered the Breaded Cutlet, described as “Two breaded veal cutlets with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, pan gravy and seasonal vegetable.” The server asked if I wanted gravy, so I said yes. When we got the bill, it had a side of gravy charged. I asked about that and she said oh yes it comes with gravy but I offered you extra gravy.
