Bodies of Water
Bear Lake Trailhead serves as the starting and ending point for a short nature trail looping around a scenic, high-altitude lake. Due to limited parking, access to the Bear Lake Corridor may be restricted during peak times, requiring visitors to use a hiker shuttle from Estes Park Visitor Center. The area offers several popular hiking routes, including a challenging four-mile hike up Flattop Mountain and an easier trail leading to Nymph, Dream, and Emerald lakes.
I really don't know how I've always overlooked Rocky Mountain National Park. I know this is a review on Bear Lake the wild the entire park is amazing. Bear Lake is what you make of it easy or to the extreme there are so many different areas to hike from here. Great for couples singles families or even small little groups. The lake is very easy to do .8 miles it has different scenes at every corner you turn. I did the loop and then headed out to Emerald Lake I'm so glad I did.
LAUS D — Google review
Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is absolutely stunning and a must-visit spot. The lake is surrounded by breathtaking mountain peaks and tall pine trees, making it a picture-perfect place for nature lovers. The trail around the lake is an easy walk, suitable for all ages, and offers beautiful views from every angle. The clear reflections of the mountains in the water are especially magical in the morning. It can get crowded during peak times, but the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty make it worth the visit. A perfect place to relax, take photos, or start your hike deeper into the park.
Iqbal N — Google review
With postcard worthy views throughout the easy walk around this picturesque alpine lake it's quite easy to see why there are such stringent timed entry constraints for the Bear Lake Road corridor. It only takes about fifteen minutes to walk around the trail is flat and very well maintained. Definitely suggest it if you are short on time or just don't feel like going on a multiple mile long hike. As far as the timed entry permit goes if you visit during peak season and plan well enough in advanced then permits can be secured starting a month in advance. Or a limited few are released the night before. However if you cannot secure a permit you can still work around the timed entry hours either arrive early (before 5 a.m., or visit right after 6 pm.) . I would love to visit during the fall, and winter as I'm sure both seasons add their own personal beauty to the already pristine lake
Keith G — Google review
We had a wonderful time here. The trails are very, very smooth. they do have a couple little rocks in them, you could probably get a large wheeled stroller through here, but I would probably still recommend a carrier if you have young kids instead. This is a very kid, friendly trail, too. Beautiful and lots of great views and picture opportunities all the way around the lake. It’s about a mile around. There are lots of people, but it doesn’t really seem like it once you’re on the trail.
Jason C — Google review
One of the most popular starting points in Rocky Mountain National Park. At 9.475 ft (2900m) elevation, the air stays cool even in summer. From here, you can hike to Bear Lake Loop, Nymph Lake, Dream Lake and Emerald Lake. Parking fills up quickly for those with cars but shuttle buses are available for visitors without one. Surrounded by pine, spruce and fir forests. It's a beautiful trail.
Ozi — Google review
Super easy trail that is basically paved and flat the whole loop. Took the shuttle from park n ride to make it even easier and not worry about parking. Also did the Emerald Lake trail before hand. So this is a good add-on hike if you still have energy from Emerald.
Joshua — Google review
Great place for hiking, no matter what level you're at. Plenty of parking and a free park and ride system, restrooms and as always knowledgeable and helpful rangers on hand. We did the hike up to Emerald lake via Nymph lake and Dream lake, and also to Alberta falls, then out through Glacier Gorge trailhead. Excellent trails and amazing scenery! The must visit one stop destination fo hikers of all ages and abilities.
Deniz U — Google review
The trail to Lake Haiyaha has an unmarked corner on a switchback that, if snowed over, would be missed leading off trail since there is no deterrent. It is beautiful and very windy up there. The bridge noted as under construction on the NPS site is complete to Emerald Lake.

New Belgium Brewing Company

Brewery
Food & Drink
New Belgium Brewing Company, founded in 1995 by a pair of beer-loving cyclists, offers a wide range of craft beers at its taproom in Fort Collins. The brewery is part of the city's vibrant craft-brewing scene, which includes other notable names like Odell Brewing Company and CooperSmith's Pub & Brewery. Visitors can take guided tours to see the brewing process firsthand and sample some of New Belgium's Belgian-style brews.
Hands down one of our favorite breweries in Asheville! You cannot go wrong with their large beer assortment. If you don’t like beer, try one of the sours or Fruit Smash Hard Seltzer. They almost always have a food truck & they offer Poppy Popcorn(local business) for sale at the counter. You can also bring your own snacks! There are many outdoor areas to choose from, some of which are covered. They are completely family & dog friendly! Just love NB for every reason!
Christine C — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins with my daughter, my partner, and her family — and let me just say, this place exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric but relaxed. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and impressively knowledgeable about the beers, which made the whole tasting experience even more enjoyable. We started off with a couple of flights to get a sense of the variety, and it was hard to pick a favorite — they were that good. But once I did, I stuck with a few pours of my top picks, and every sip was a reminder of how expertly crafted their beer is. There was a Mexican food truck on-site that seriously blew us away. The food was fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the beers. The indoor space was welcoming and full of energy, but it’s the outdoor area that really shines — wide open, dog-friendly, and full of life with kids running around, families laughing, and groups just enjoying the day. It felt like the backyard party you always want to be invited to. This wasn’t just a trip to a brewery — it was an experience. One of those rare places that nails everything: the beer, the food, the vibe, the people, the setting. I’d come back in a heartbeat, and I’ll be telling everyone I know to make the trip. New Belgium, you’ve got something special going on. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing.
Jairo M — Google review
Just a short walk from the middle of Old Town, New Belgium Brewery is worth the trip. Whether you are a fan of Fat Tire or just like to try some new beer varieties, there is something for everyone here. The large, open, outside area is an awesome place to sit and enjoy the wonderful Colorado climate and delicious beers. There was a food truck for snacking and plenty of NB paraphernalia in the gift shop.
Chad H — Google review
Guessing that this is in everyone's list of breweries to visit in town. If not it should be. Fabulous facility with beautiful grounds and a relaxing vibe. All of the usual NB beers on tap and several other must-haves. The sThe staff was very accommodating and happy to engage in conversation and answer many of the same questions they get asked over and over again. Make it a stop. You won't regret it!
Scott S — Google review
Got a case of beer from Costco and there's like 1 that is drinkable. The rest is fine if you like some mystery flavor. Maybe it's raspberry maybe it's dead orphan meat. Ohh this one is a nappy beer with a hint of collection of nail clippings. The worst purchase I've ever made beer wise. And I have made quite a few poor decisions in my day.
Travis — Google review
I went on this beer tour in 2022 and was so impressed that I brought a bachelor party back here in 2025. The space is beautiful, the tour is interesting (though hot for the first section, so be prepared), and for your money you get a lot of delicious beer. If you’re interested in beer or how anything is made, it’s a don’t miss. Make sure to buy tickets well in advance - they sell out fast.
Melodie R — Google review
This brewery has one of the nicer outside spaces; it is very open and vast. I never felt like I was sitting on top of anyone . The beer selection was great and the flights were super smooth. Overall it was a great time and I’ll definitely be back!
Melanie V — Google review
We went to this brewery while doing a roadtrip. We did a tour with Cynthia. It was perfect ! We absolutely loved the tour ! Very interesting and fun. I love that you get to see from the beginning to the very end of the process. We stayed after to enjoy a beer. Cynthia was very nice ! The outside area is very nice and the beers are very good ! Definitely would recommend. We even left with suggestions of what to do in Fort Collins ! Would defintely recommend to visit this place and take the tour !

The drive is surprisingly manageable, especially on weekdays when crowds are thinner, thanks to a reservation system that helps reduce traffic and enhance safety.
Amazing place to go. If you are anywhere near this place make the climb. Road views are awesome and plenty of mountain goats and their babies are usually around. The goats also give free carwashes
Alec K — Google review
Really beautiful scenery. We stopped here pretty briefly, and unfortunately the peak was closed so we didnt go very far, but gorgeous nonetheless.
Jae R — Google review
Wonderful spot. Biked to the top ages ago. Evans having been the territorial governor and perhaps having acted to cover up the needless loss of life of indigenous people, then lost the mountain that bore his name for over 100 years. So it goes.
Eric B — Google review
One of the most incredible mountain drives you can do in Colorado. It truly was the experience of a lifetime. The sights were breathtaking, from the mountains, lakes, valleys, to wildlife, couldn’t recommend more. At one point we drove into a thunderstorm, then above it. I would do this every day of my life if I could.
Jessica S — Google review
Beautiful getting up to the road that takes you to the top but that's as far as you can get. Road is closed but there are other parts to see while in that area
Dfw M — Google review
We did a ride up for sunset and during the day with a reservation. The views were beautiful and sunset was absolutely amazing! Great drive although the road near the top is in need of work that is scheduled to happen end of July 2024 and last about a year
Kristen R — Google review
Drove up around 10am on a Sunday. Beautiful day, lots of bikers riding up (kudos to them!) and relatively low traffic. Saw a herd of goats approaching the parking lot. ‘Hiked’ the summit trail and had some gorgeous views to go with the easiest 14er.
Kenny R — Google review
A great and easy way to experience a 14er! Purchased tickets in advance and drove to the top parking lot. There were many pretty views along the way. At the top we ran into so many mountain goats and marmots! We hiked to the top, which was a short trail with some mild elevation gains. The elevation definitely made a huge difference. At the top, we were roughly at 14,225 feet!

Absolutely wonderful area to have a drink, eat, shop, or just wander around looking at people. Lots of the restaurants on the mall have patios or rooftop decks. They have banned on the bricks every Wednesday night during the summer. Very festive atmosphere! We loved it!

Pearl Street Mall is a fun, walkable spot with a great mix of shops, restaurants, and coffee spots. It has a lively but relaxed vibe, making it a great place to wander for a few hours. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, browsing unique stores, or just people-watching, there's always something interesting going on. The street itself is charming, with plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The only downside is parking—it can be tricky to find a good spot, especially on busy days. But if you're in Boulder, it's definitely worth checking out!

Wow. Wow. Wow. First time here for a concert, and this place is BONKERS cool! Great views. Obviously. Great sounding show. Good food and beverage access and options. I need to come back during the day and check out the museum and the surrounding areas. Sooo cool!
Jason W — Google review
This was easily one of the best stops on our trip. The views were absolutely beautiful. We had a tour guide with us who was very knowledgeable about the area and the theatre itself. It's a bit of an intense hike up, but it's well-worth the climb. Gift shop is at the top as well as a wall with everyone who has performed there, and a history section. It was really fun and I would go again. Definitely something everyone should see.
Natalia W — Google review
Incredible landmark. The layout is amazing even if you are just visiting for views or exercise. The trails around the park provide great views all around. The inside has a lovely gift shop, nice restrooms and awesome museum style set up for education on the location. This place was so awesome, I visited twice this trip.

A Must-See Colorado Gem! I visited Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre at the end of summer, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The natural rock formations are stunning, and the views of Denver from the top are incredible. The amphitheater itself is iconic standing there feels like being part of music history. The hiking trails were well-maintained and offered a great mix of scenery and exercise. Parking was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you go, make sure to catch a sunset; it’s magical! Whether you’re here for a concert, a workout, or just to soak in the beauty, Red Rocks is an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Colorado!
Lance M — Google review
Magnificent amphitheater from the surroundings to the engineering and design. If you ever get the opportunity to see a concert or service….go. Amphitheater looks to the east so sunrise services are spectacular and one is not looking into the sun for evening concerts. We were there and they were testing the sound system…. Quite impressive in an empty amphitheater. Take a look at the museum below and see the hall of fame performers.
Simon R — Google review
Always delivers! Visit and experience the museum! The restaurant is also really good with plenty of outdoor seating. Love the history and that it is completely accessible to the public. There are also miles and miles of trails to enjoy the stunning beauty! If you are lucky enough to go to an actual concert, it is super!
Oksana — Google review
One of the best live music venues ever. It’s amazing. The scenery. The venue. The sound. The camaraderie. Likes attract likes. Good people everywhere inside. Music brings people together. Bucket list trip. Get here if you can. You will remember it all.

Love this place! Went too the Rockies game Friday Night with some friends and we had an awesome time! We parked lot B and got a bus shuttle that took us to the entrance and they were awesome people and friendly too! And got into the game easy and no problem! Their were so much food spots to choose from , so we end up getting random food that cost us $75 and didn’t finish it all . We finally try the Rockies Dog! Very good and enjoyed that! So after the game we got back on the shuttle bus and took us to our parking it was easy! Well can’t wait too be back for another game!

No water fountains that i saw.Disabled parking fills more than an hour before game starts.Very well organized and courteous people.$23 parking and easy to get out in first 15 Minutes.Bus to transport inside parking but there is a line. One side of stadium be third baseline had shadow whole The rest was baking hot.No long bathroom lines! Very expensive beer $11-15.Ne careful what seats you buy. Disabled people have personal assistants and for those using a walker is very difficult cu hold on to bars when descending on stairs because of wrong spacing of bars. Please Avoid the stairs if you have a cane.

The atmosphere is always incredible - from the mountain views to the energy of the crowd, it’s such a fun experience whether you’re a big baseball fan or just there for a great day out. The stadium is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food and drink options never disappoint. As a local real estate agent in Northern Colorado, I love spending time here with family and clients - it’s a perfect example of what makes living in Colorado so enjoyable. If you’re in the Denver area, catching a game at Coors Field is an absolute must! ⚾️🌄

Fun way to spend the afternoon! Even better when the Rockies win! Did you know that you can make reservations for the Mountain Ranch Bar & Grille and for $32 a person you can sit inside/outside in the shade and comfy seats and eat at the buffet. Don’t tell anyone about this cool, secret spot!

Beautiful stadium. We want to a day game so it got pretty hot. If you are attending a day game, consider tickets towards the back of a section that has a cover. Loved that they had sunscreen at the first aid stations and had water refill stations. We enjoyed the view from the roof and by the bullpens before we sat in our seats. I also loved that they had a kids food area with very reasonable prices! It’s right by the playground. Entertainment between innings could be more exciting.

This is a great ballpark. It is gorgeous inside and out. It has a timeless look and feel. It’s so inviting you feel like Babe Ruth played there. It’s located a mile high above sea level and the views are amazing. I would highly recommend and you should buy some merch at the on site store and the food is fantastic and reasonably priced.

Coors Field is one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country. There is truly nothing like the views of the Rocky Mountains from the stands sunset games are unbelievable. The atmosphere is fun, relaxed, and very “Colorado,” and it’s the perfect place to catch a Rockies game on a nice day. Great stadium, great vibes, and absolutely iconic mountain views.

The 16th Street Mall in Denver is a mile-long pedestrian promenade that serves as the spine connecting downtown attractions. It features over 40 outdoor cafes, shops, and entertainment options. The mall starts at Union Station and ends at the Colorado State Capitol, with highlights including the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Larimer Square, and the Denver Pavilions shopping and dining complex.
Went to the 16th street rival, it was a lot of fun. There is still sketchy people but there was a big police presence and security guards.

If you visit Denver, Colorado, visit the 16th Street Mall. There are different food options to choose from, and you can take a nice walk.
Shabira K — Google review
This was disappointing. I am a big supporter of pedestrianized streets and place making but this feels like it has failed to live up to it's potential. The center of the wide street is left open, possibly reserved for buses, though we never saw any. While some very nice and cute seating and other features have been created on the sidewalks the failure to utilize the majority of the street leaves it feeling a bit barren. Also the stores along the street are often chains like H&M & Target and not the mix of interesting smaller local shops you'll find on Boulder's Pearl Street or Linden St. in Ft. Collins. Still worth checking out after visiting the Capitol or the great History & Art Museums on the other side of the park as there seems to be some decent dining options, including outdoor dining, but it could be so much more.

16th Street was ok. It’s a Friday and overcast so not much people out. But if you like to drink alcohol there’s plenty of places for that. Good place to take walk.

This is a lovely place to spend a day. I enjoyed all the boutique shops, the restaurants, and even passed through a few places just to people watch for a while. Quite the gatherings here on weekends. But you can visit any day of the week and I guarantee you’ll have a good time. Check out the bowling alley for extra fun.

Denver’s 16th Street Mall is a 1.7-mile pedestrian corridor in downtown, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment. The free shuttle makes getting around easy, and nearby attractions include the Central Library and Paramount Theatre. Renovations have improved the area, though visitors should be mindful of occasional safety concerns.
Kaushik M — Google review
A little history here before I begin my review. In the 1990s the 16th Street Mall was a hub for social interactions and shopping galore. Many who lived in the Downtown area would enjoy the peace and serenity of the 16th Street Mall at night. The 16th Street Mall has been rebuild and redesign twice now in Denver's history. With that said. Unfortunately, when Colorado legalized marijuana in the 2000s is when the 16th Street Mall became a liability to those that went there. Gangs, homeless drug addicts, and crime increased and many clean and sober hard working taxpayers didn't feel safe unless they were carrying a side arm for protection. One couldn't escape the smell of marijuana that enveloped the Mall from all the smoking done there. Many businesses closed up as a result of less foot traffic meaning customers were far and few. Even tourist dared not travel the Mall at night. From news reports in 2025 that I have read about the rebuild of the 16th Street Mall now just 16th Street. The Mall part was dropped under a $100k ad blitz. My wife and I had to move from Denver to Minnesota in 2019, but do remember the 16th Street Mall of old before marijuana legalization.
Steven B — Google review
All of the construction to widen the side walks, so many businesses are closed, it was disappointing. And there are so many homeless people, it was concerning. In the city's effort to make the area better, I feel they actually made it worse.

Denver Botanic Gardens is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and art lovers alike. The gardens are home to a horticultural library with rare books and seed catalogs, making it a paradise for plant aficionados. Situated in the Cheesman Park neighborhood, this public botanical garden offers various theme gardens, a glass-enclosed conservatory, and an enchanting sunken amphitheater that hosts open-air concerts during the summer.
We visited the Denver Botanic Gardens with the whole family on Sunday at 11 a.m. The day was lovely with nice, quite warm weather. There were no spots in the outdoor parking lot, so we waited a little for someone to leave. The autumn garden deserves special attention. The atmosphere is very peaceful and calming. It reminds us of our native home. The beautiful scents of flowers and autumn leaves, in harmony with the smell of moisture from the local ponds and fountains, truly delight the heart. Some parts of the garden are closed due to ongoing work for Halloween preparations. We were very happy to have the opportunity to grab a quick bite at the local bistro. We really enjoyed their Hive Burgers. I recommend visiting the Botanic Gardens in all seasons. It is always beautiful in its own unique way.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A True Urban Oasis - Stunning Architecture and Vibrant Gardens! The Denver Botanic Gardens is an absolute must-visit! My recent trip was fantastic, and I was especially impressed by the way the Gardens blend natural beauty with thoughtful, modern design. The Science Pyramid is a major highlight—the hexagonal, honeycomb exterior is a striking piece of architecture (as seen in the photos!) that beautifully introduces the concepts of biomimicry and conservation science. It's truly eye-catching and creates a wonderful focal point for the campus. Beyond the architecture, the gardens themselves are a vibrant escape. From the rich green textures of the tropical conservatory (like the beautiful palms and ferns in the images) to the colorful outdoor beds, everything is meticulously maintained. The variety is outstanding, making it easy to spend hours wandering through different biomes. Whether you're a serious botanist or just looking for a peaceful, beautiful afternoon, this place delivers. Don't miss the chance to explore the different water features and the varied foliage! Highly recommend it.

I visited the Denver Botanic Gardens on November 10th, and it was an absolute highlight of the autumn season! The gardens were bursting with vibrant fall colors—reds, oranges, and golds everywhere you looked, creating a stunning natural palette that’s perfect for this time of year. It’s like a peaceful oasis right in the heart of the city, where you can escape the hustle and bustle and just immerse yourself in tranquility. I loved every moment of it and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a serene, beautiful escape! We’ll definitely be back.

The Denver botanic gardens is a wonderful oasis in a busy city neighborhood. We love all of the landscape design and attention to detail. While it was crowded on a weekend, there was plenty of room in the beautiful landscaped areas and walkways to see and enjoy this botanic garden. They have a wonderful shop with some beautiful handicrafts and gifts that are nature-themed. It definitely was worth it making a trip to this beautiful garden.

So beautiful. Even if you have no interest in gardening yourself, an oasis of calm and beauty, with a koi pind and water features. perfect for a mini break in your day, with free parking! nice little cafe, too. When its snowing, the green houses are magical. If you do garden, or love houseplants, you will be inspired. I treated myself to a membership. So worth it, because i can stop in for a quick zen break whenever im in the neighborhood .

Came to the Denver Botanic Gardens on my Denver Trip on the 5th November 2025. An absolutely beautiful viewing for all to see! There are a range of plants to come and observe here, I am not a plant expert but I’m sure one of those would have an even better time here than I did. I did go in November so maybe it is better in the summer too? But it was really hot when I went so I had a good time! Worth going to!

Going to a botanical garden in late fall is always a gamble, however I was so impressed by the well maintained gardens. They were organized by theme, and each space inspired a sense of reflection. My absolute favorite part was the orangery which smelled heavenly! I would definitely go back for either the lights or when more plants are growing!

Pikes Peak is a 14,115-ft. pink granite peak in Colorado Springs, offering hiking trails with breathtaking views, climbing opportunities, and campgrounds. The area also features a condo with amenities like complimentary wireless internet access and a garden for relaxation. Visitors can explore the region's history through guided tours of a cave that has been part of local legends since 1000 AD. Additionally, the peak offers stunning panoramic views described in 'America the Beautiful' by Katharine Bates.
What an amazing drive! I recommend starting early in the morning and checking the weather. I bought our tickets online the day before and checking in at the ranger station at the start was easy. Be sure to get gas and prepare for huge elevation gains. The road is well maintained for August. All of the ranger throughout the park are excellent.
Ordell — Google review
Amazing and crazy drive up to the peak. The drive down was even crazier. There is basically no guardrail! Every time we turned, there was another great view. The observatory at the peak was great and you can find donuts at the gift shop. They are overpriced but good. It was a little difficult for us during our visit because of the altitude but it was still great. It's windy so bring a jacket during the colder months. Be sure to use the lower gears while descending so that your brakes don't burn out. There's a check point that checks the brake temperature, so you don't end up on the evening news. So awesome!

Very very special experience, for drive my own car to such elevation 4300m above sea level. There are lots of hair-pin curves, and steep uphills on the road, some part of road near cliff, so you may require some driving skill.
Hanhua G — Google review
Best motorcycle ride ever. Amazing views everywhere. Just beware of gust of wind that hits all of sudden. Five minutes of calm then 5 seconds of what seems like a wall of air.
Bryan C — Google review
It is just an absolutely stunning drive up to the peak. It does take a while so account for that and have sunscreen. If you’re sensitive to altitude sickness get the canned air. And anticipate it to be way colder at the top than you expect.
Michelle D — Google review
We rented a hybrid jeep and it worked great on the drive to the top and the coasting to the bottom. The visitor center is great with plenty of restrooms and food choices. We had two kids and a dog and everyone was feeling the altitude a bit at the top. Nothing too bad for us but there were some older people that were clearly struggling. We took our time on the way down and stopped everywhere we could to take in the views.
Nick B — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking! We originally planned to take the train but decided not to—and I’m so glad we still went. The drive up offers incredible views, though it might be challenging for those with a fear of heights. The visitor center is beautiful, and the scenery alone makes the trip worthwhile. We visited in July, and it was very windy, so be sure to dress in layers!
Kerime S — Google review
What a beautiful place to be. Line to enter was okay. It was about 15min wait. We got our ticket and started driving. Uphill drive is not too bad. Loved every bit of it. You have to experience this in person. The pictures and videos do not do justice. The drive to the peak Is about 45 minutes. Follow the rules and take it easy. You’ll be fine. There’s parking available once you are on the top. There’s also a cafe, bathrooms. The cafe line was pretty long but moving quickly. We tried their famous donuts, coffee and popcorn. The hot chocolate was delicious. The popcorn was fresh. The donuts were devoured by the kids. Sooooo good. The view is spectacular. Oxygen levels are low and you do feel nauseous and dizzy once you are up there. Drink lots of water, rest, take breaks. The weather is also colder so do dress in layers. The drive downhill is tricky. Use low gear, don’t ride your brakes and go slow. Enjoy the view. Overall it was an amazing experience. Do check them out.

The United States Air Force Academy, established in 1954, is a renowned institution that provides training to U.S. Air Force cadets and showcases various exhibits. Visitors can explore the grounds and drive through the campus to witness its architectural marvels, including the striking interdenominational chapel. Additionally, the academy offers an unparalleled view of Pikes Peak and features amenities such as VIP luxury fire pit suites and top-notch restaurants.
Visited the United States Air Force Academy in early August and was simply awestruck by the history, mission, character and quality of people who first organized the institution, all the graduates over time, and the proud character of the individuals attending the academy. Beautiful campus nestled in the north part of Colorado Springs, with plenty of space and neat, air-themed buildings. The chapel was under renovation/construction when we visited so we could not view it, but there are plenty of images and models around to get an idea of how beautiful and majestic the building is. We don't have any family members in the military, but we greatly appreciated the valuable opportunity to learn about this wonderful institution and the amazing work of the people associated with it. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

This is a very historic place. There are plenty of sites to see for a military retiree like myself. They have a full commissary and base exchange with many other shops and services. In passing some of the military members and cadets, they were all very, very polite. This is a very land expansive place as it's located in the prairies of Colorado, which makes it very beautiful.

When people think of the United States Air Force (USAF), they often picture fighter jets, huge cargo planes, and long runways stretching through the desert. But the Air Force also runs some massive bases outside the mainland United States. These sites play a major role in America’s global military presence. Some are in Europe, some in Asia, and one is even near the Arctic Circle.

We visited the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in hopes that our daughter will be attending next year. It is a highly respected institution that is known for producing some of the most dedicated and skilled military officers in the United States Air Force. With a focus on integrity, excellence, and service, the Academy prepares its students to meet the challenges of military service with honor and distinction. Beyond its academic and ethical rigor, the Air Force Academy also offers a vibrant and diverse community for its students. Cadets come from all walks of life, and the Academy prides itself on fostering a sense of camaraderie and belonging. It would be a blessing to be a part of this prestigious academy.

We arrived at the Air Force Academy a couple of weeks ago. They closed down tours to the public in January of 2025. We were not allowed to go in, this is not posted anywhere on their website. Be aware that if you're not a veteran or active military you won't be allowed to take a tour. This would have been very helpful as we planned our trip, we were disappointed.
Amy C — Google review
What an impressive place! Not just the beauty and the organization of it, but the respect for the academy and the respect for the service is present. The size of the grounds is immense, and we only stayed on the roads, not having time to go on any of the walking paths. Even though the chapel is currently closed, we still learned a lot through the visitor's center, and the video they showed was informative as well. Would have loved to have had more time here.

Garden of the Gods is a 1,300-acre park located just northeast of Colorado Springs. The park features an array of sandstone formations in various colors, offering picturesque landscapes for visitors. At the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, guests can access hiking trails, biking paths, and even guided nature walks. The park's diverse trails cater to different difficulty levels, with a wheelchair-accessible 1.5-mile trail available for all to enjoy.
This is an awesome place to visit, and it's free! Nicely paved trail and it's accessible. Rock climbing can be arranged from what I saw on signs but you have to make contact with the location first. This is a great place for pictures of the Red rocks. Definitely worth the stop and visiting multiple times. This was my second trip and I enjoyed the rocks just as much.
Jenn J — Google review
Title: Geological Grandeur: A Study in Color and Contrast The Garden of the Gods offers an experience that is far more dramatic and detailed than a simple scenic drive. These photos illustrate the striking, almost painterly, quality of this National Natural Landmark, emphasizing the interplay between the ancient geology and the vibrant plant life. The dominant feature is, of course, the geological drama. The formations appear massive and imposing, showcasing stark red and orange colors under the brilliant Colorado sun. The images capture the incredible texture of the sandstone—the result of millions of years of deposition and subsequent tectonic tilting. Seeing these massive slabs of rock jutting sharply towards the sky, often framed by soft, puffy clouds, is a potent reminder of the earth's immense power. Furthermore, this place is an immersive trail experience. The dense, lively green foliage—primarily scrub oak and juniper—is a recurring element that beautifully frames the towering red monoliths. This foreground of nature provides a compelling contrast to the bare, dramatic rock, making the hiking and viewing experience feel intimate and immersive, even when viewing the massive formations. It suggests a park that is not just about viewing from a distance, but one that encourages stepping onto the trails to appreciate the varied ecosystems thriving right up to the base of the rock fins. The clear, blue skies and bright daylight guarantee exceptional photography, bringing out the maximum saturation in the red iron oxide of the rocks. Whether you are focused on the broad landscape views or the close-up texture of a specific formation, the Garden of the Gods is a mandatory stop for anyone visiting the Colorado Springs area, promising accessibility and a truly unforgettable visual spectacle.
Yusuf J — Google review
Garden of the Gods is an absolutely breathtaking place that feels almost unreal from the moment you arrive. The towering red rock formations create a stunning contrast against the bright blue sky, making every view feel picture-perfect. The maps along the trails are incredibly helpful, giving you a clear sense of direction while highlighting scenic overlooks and points of interest you won’t want to miss. The shuttle system is also very convenient, making it easy to get around the park without worrying about parking or long walks between major areas. I highly recommend bringing a water bottle, because staying hydrated makes the entire experience much more enjoyable, especially if you plan to explore several trails. Wearing comfortable hiking shoes is equally important, as some paths can be uneven, slightly uphill, or longer than expected. With the right gear, the walks feel relaxing rather than tiring. Despite being a popular destination, the park still manages to feel calm, refreshing, and peaceful. Whether you’re there for photography, hiking, or simply taking in the incredible scenery, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression. Garden of the Gods is truly a must-see spot that showcases the natural beauty Colorado is known for.

A great experience with lots of beautiful scenery. We explored several landmarks along the trail and got to do a little rock climbing. Great for hiking and just walking around. Elevation is pretty high, being lots of water. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and taking your time. Would be a great place to jog if youre into building stamina.
Amun Z — Google review
This place is amazing. You just keep saying "wow" at every turn. There's a central part that's easy to walk and has sidewalks, and if you go early and are quiet - you can spot deer and other wildlife. You may even see permitted climbers working their way up a rock face. There is a lot to see in the center loop; howeverrrrr, if you got your grippy shoes, water, and some snacks... then adventure off into any of the outer trails. They are all a "little to a lot" different from each other (terrain, elevation gain and difficulty, vegetation, etc) buttttttttttttt on any trail you take you will be meandering along when out of nowhere ROCK FORMATION!👁👄👁 The colors of the rocks are mostly red (those are sandstone that used to be dunes) and remind me of Red Rock Canyon in Nevada, but there are also beautiful quartz that look glittery in the sun, obsidian (I think) that looks like black glass, and stones/ rocks that look like someone painted them layer by layer. Sooo many different types of trees and plants. Watch out for the cacti; they're everywhere to the sides of the trails and are no joke (even though they look small). Overall, pretty easy hike on any trail - but you need good shoes or it will get slippery in some spots. Kids could do some of the trails, maybe all - just depends on your kid's endurance and balance. Just the last mile or so can be tough and that was because it was an incline with deep sand... but you can probably exit off of the trail to the main road before that and go a different way. Highly recommend.

The visitor center staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the views from the overlooks are unforgettable. Definitely a must-see destination in Colorado Springs!

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo stands out as a premier conservation park that is home to over 700 animals. This unique mountain zoo offers visitors an array of interactive experiences, including the chance to feed giraffes and engage with various other species like goats and elephants. With its stunning exhibits such as the Asian Highlands and Rocky Mountain Wild, guests can explore diverse habitats while learning about endangered species conservation efforts.
This place is AMAZING!! It's huge! Prepare for lots of walking and hills. Do not come here without pocket money. There are cafes and ice cream and popcorn and you can feed the giraffes so bring enough money for everyone in your group. But you can bring outside food and drinks so be smart. The animals are beautiful and look well cared for. The entire zoo was a clean environment. They even have 2 designated SMOKING AREAS!! like that was great to have a place to smoke. And there's staff everywhere so if you have questions about the animals or something else they're around to help. We had a fantastic day!!

This is a cool zoo. Easy to traverse and handicap accessible however some inclines as to be expected. Under construction during our visit but it didn’t stop us from seeing everything. Spent about 2 hours from start to finish. Love that they do dog days! So fun.
Jessica B — Google review
Although under renovation as of November 2025, you can still navigate this zoo without too much disruption. The upgrades will be completed sometime in 2026. The animals look very healthy and have room to move and the natural mountain setting is breathtaking. Anyone not accustomed to the elevation (and even locals) should come prepared with plenty of water for everyone in their party so as to not spoil the fun. The pizza restaurant is great with an enormous oven built in Italy and there are only two in the Western part of the US. If you want to bring your own cooler with lunch, it's allowed and there are multiple areas to set up your picnic. The sky ride up the mountain has an extra cost but it's worth it. There is a nice carousel for the kids for an extra $2. If navigating the mountain is difficult, you can purchase a $3. ticket that is good all day and get picked up and drop off by cart throughout the park. The entrance fee is reasonable so these extra costs are not outrageous. Unless you arrive by a car sharing service, you are required to purchase tickets online in advance because of the limited parking during construction. The Roger's shrine can be accessed by car, but you must get through the gate by 3pm. To see the majority of the park plan on 2-4 hours. Completely worth it! A beautiful retreat.

This is probably THE BEST zoo that we have ever visited! It is so neat and clean! They are doing buy ahead/reservation tickets to help with congestion and that really makes a difference, especially with the animal encounter areas. There are so many interactive places and play areas for children, including a carousel! My daughter had an absolute blast!

The BEST zoo we have been too to date! We LOVED all the animal up close & being able to touch & feed animals. A lot of uphill but totally worth it! They have plenty of benches all over for resting if you get tired easily! Take a rain poncho, backpack, water, snacks. So cool that it is on the mountain. Loved the views. Excited for the new giraffe habitat to get finished to go back & see that! We got to see the new baby gorilla. Baby was definitely the star of the zoo, EVERYONE loved the baby. Too cute. Definitely recommend going to this zoo!

Stuck an amazing environment to bring our girls to! They have had stuck a blast every time we go. Last time the baby wallaby were out and they got to pet them. The staff also let our girls assist them in feeding the reptiles because we were practically the only people in the zoo, so a membership saved us the hassle of waiting in line and scored our 5 girls a once in a lifetime moment contributing to the zoos morning breakfast routine! Such an amazing and unforgettable day!

Came here for my first time & I was blown away by how beautiful the scenery is here. They have a wide variety of animals & you can get pretty close to a lot of them which makes for an amazing experience. My favorite part was definitely feeding the giraffes, they are so gentle & not afraid to come right up to you for a snack. The Australian exhibit was also pretty neat because you're able to get super close to the animals. There's fun for the whole family here & also makes for an enjoyable day for adults too. My only complaint is that they close at 5, so make sure you get there early so you have time to enjoy everything the zoo has to offer!

My family and I love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It's unique layout up the side of the mountain does lead to a lot of hill climbing, so be prepared for that. It also leads to some amazing views you don't get at other zoos and the sky tram/ski lift that carts you over the animals up to the top is such a unique perspective. The giraffe feeding is also such a cool attraction. There's something for everyone here.

We made the most out of the hour or so we toured the museum and were very impressed by it. We only wish we had more time to take it all in. I can only imagine how amazing their live shows are!

Oh my God!!! This place is a must see place to experience and educate yourself on the Wild West!!!! I can’t recall one of the employee’s name, but she gave me knowledge of the places and nearby attractions in the area. The museum was shutting down for the evening on August 28th. But, she let me and my husband to see Ms. Kitty’s attire and admire it for a couple of minutes!!! We really appreciated that brief moment!!! Thank you!!!! When we went back the next day, it was an amazing journey of the 1800s and life in Dodge City. The artifacts collected over the years were definitely a priceless treasure!!!!! The gunfight skit was outstanding!! The gunfighters…..WOW!!!! They autographed me an 8x10 photo of the whole crew. They even took a picture with me. This particular gem and their deserve more than 5 stars. I live in Nebraska and I’m giving all of you a shout out!!! Anyone who makes plans to visit Dodge City, you have to make an unforgettable experience right here at the Boot Hill Museum!!! It will make you feel like you’re living in the moment of the Wild West!!!❤️ And thank you for making our family vacation special and worth coming back next year!!!

Living in the Wild Wild West! If you’re in the area for Dodge City and Boot Hill this is a must see attraction! So much history in a relatively small area. Legends such as Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, and many others made their presence felt here. The museum did a great job capturing this time era. Plan on staying for about a good hour to hour and a half to read and enjoy all the exhibits.

You can tell there's been a lot of effort put into the displays to bring history back to life and help the younger generations connect with what it was like living in the wild west. Their reconstruction of the boardwalk in downtown Dodge City of the Old West is fantastic! They offer a variety show with dinner most nights at 7pm featuring some talented folks as well as a gunfight at 6:30pm.

This place is an enjoyable experience for people of all ages. They have a lovely gift shop, and several bathrooms throughout the area. It is an open-ended tour, so you decide where to go at your own pace. Tickets stop selling at 5pm. Nobody new can enter, but you have until 7 to explore if you entered before 5. The saloon was great, Karen was absolutely lovely and showed my aunt and I how to do the "cancan" - and while we danced terribly, it was fun, and my aunt will not stop talking about how good the experience was. Karen was very kind and helpful, more than willing to help take photos. We spent probably 30 minutes just in there drinking our root beer and chatting with her. Highly recommend this building! A few places are closed for renovations, but there is a lot to explore and many places you can sit and rest. The environment is great and quite peaceful.

Interesting set-up with some original buildings. Many artifacts including guns are shown, along with life in Dodge City in the early cowboy times. The shoot-out was fun to watch, following most movie scripts. The dinner was tasty, and the show was fun. The actress playing Miss Kitty had a wonderful singing voice. I highly recommend this as a fun and interesting way to spend several hours.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Boot Hill Museum. The place is huge with a museum, gift shop, boot hill cemetery and recreation of an old west town. The staff are great. Many dress in period costume and are friendly and very knowledgeable. A grand spot to visit to get a feel for the area.

Sedgwick County Zoo, one of the nation's 10 largest zoos, is home to over 3,000 animals from 400 species across its 25-acre outdoor environment. Visitors can explore different regions and see exotic creatures from around the world, including orangutans and rare okapis.
Beautiful, clean, fun. Expect a lot of walking so the earlier you go to beat the heat, the better. Probably a good idea to wear a hat or use sunscreen too. Loved seeing the animals up close. The gift shop was very nice too. We bought our tickets online and saved some money.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL zoo!! The entire zoo is very clean to include the bathrooms. There is a large assortment of animals to see & the animals appear quite healthy. There are bathrooms scattered throughout the zoo. A large amount of motorized scooters with and without shade are available for rental (in the $30 range for the entire day.) There are also motorized animals like the ones in malls for rent-I believe they were $26/hour. A cup can be purchased for $10 that gets you free refills for the day. We really enjoyed feeding the giraffes and petting & feeding the stingrays! Such a special place. We really enjoyed ourselves. Plan a whole day here so you can see everything!

Had a wonderful Saturday exploring the Sedgwick County Zoo with two friends! We booked our tickets online, which I highly recommend—it was simple and saved us $25 total ($5 per ticket) compared to the gate price. The zoo itself is beautiful and was decorated with these incredible, giant animal lanterns from some kind of special event. The snow leopard and butterfly displays we saw were a magical touch and made the walkways even more fun. We spent most of our day exploring the Africa, South America, and Australia sections, and the habitats are truly world-class. A few tips for your visit: Arrive Early! The zoo is HUGE. We weren't able to see the North America section because we ran out of time. To cover everything without rushing, I'd say the best time to get there is between 10 and 11 AM. Check for Closures: We were disappointed to find the Cessna Penguin Cove was closed for maintenance. It’s probably a good idea to check their website before you go. Animal Naps are Real: It was a sunny day, so the lion and tiger were snoozing in the shade, and we couldn't find the red panda. It happens, but if you want to see them active, an earlier or cooler day might be better! Even with the few things we missed, it was an amazing day out. It’s a top-notch zoo and a fantastic value.

My Service Dog’s first visit did not disappoint! Employees were knowledgeable upon our arrival and directed us in to receive his staff-shirt-colored bandana (unfortunately not a keepsake and must be returned upon exit) and map of restricted areas for him (not many, and each of the restricted buildings had a very clearly labeled sign for SD’s on the entrance). There are no dedicated relief areas but many grassy lawns with a cluster of trees or bench you can duck behind to be more discrete. It was so fun to see all the exhibits through my pup’s eyes. The “wild lights” statues and things were set up which made for twice as many cool things to look at in addition to the animals- highly recommend going during this time! Lots of animals were up close and/or moving- we had the luck of a warm but breezy day so no one was scorching, but you still want to wear sunscreen, pack water, and plan to walk! The Beastro makes for a great lunch midday- the Falafal Caesar Salad was surprisingly AMAZING! Thanks so much SCZ- we will be back! (We wish we could have kept our pup’s bandana as a memento! Please let this be an option next time- we would buy it if needed :)

I was visiting from out-of-state and had to go to this zoo. It was beautiful and did not disappoint! The animal habitats were nicely laid out, and animals could be clearly seen. The penguin encounter was closed due to new glass replacement, and the stingray exhibit was closed for the season, but everything else was great. It was pretty with the lantern decorations even in the daytime. I would also recommend the train ride.

Viewed the Zoo's seasonal lighting. Paid $16 for a ticket. Very nice, and plentiful displays. Most were animated and brilliantly lit. There are interactive games for children throughout the lights display; including an area with a lit see-saw, a pair of swings as well as a small fun house as well as a monster to interact with. These activities are for the young ones, but cool nonetheless. A bit of a line at the entrance, give we were there right at their opening time of six, but worth the short wait.

Really great zoo. My kids always have a great time going here. We saw an orangutan painting. Gorillas next to us and the elephants out n about on our train ride. We also saw some of the light exhibit. If you're ever bored, go here. $$$
Kalli K — Google review
What can I say about the local zoo? Lots of walking, plenty of things to see and do. Coming up on winter, many of the animals are off exhibit this time of year and there are many places under construction. However, the enclosures are generous, the staff is super friendly, and the overall traffic is pretty low so seeing your favorite animal is always easy...almost never more than a minute or two wait due to traffic. Wife and kids love this place, just make sure to pack some snacks if you're making a day of it. While the concessions are available, they're expensive for everything as it's a funding source for the zoo. Overall, it's a good time for the family and a great way to spend a day with the family if you grab the membership for the year like we do.

The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is a poignant tribute to the victims of the 1995 Murrah Building bombing. The memorial features a reflective pool and a garden, along with 168 chairs representing each victim of the attack, including 19 children who were in the building's daycare. The museum provides in-depth information about the bombing and Timothy McVeigh's trial, offering visitors context for their visit.
This was really cool. I love that the memorial took out part of the street in order to make the reflecting pool. It is moving and quiet in the middle of the city. It was simple but poignant. My son was with us (18 yrs) and he did not take know any details so it was great to be able to talk him through history that I remembered from when I was 12. We did not have time to do the museum, which would have answered a lot of his questions but we did the best we could but the interactive video screens were extremely helpful. I truly recommended stopping if you are in OKC. I also suggest going across the street to the church memorial and reading the story there. Worth the time.

Review of the Oklahoma City National Memorial ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 Stars) Visiting the Oklahoma City National Memorial was an incredibly moving and humbling experience. The site is beautifully designed, with powerful symbolism throughout—especially the Field of Empty Chairs, which honors each life lost in the 1995 bombing. The atmosphere is respectful and reflective, and it’s clear that a lot of care went into creating a space for both remembrance and healing. One of the highlights of our visit was speaking with a National Park Ranger on site. His deep knowledge and thoughtful storytelling added a whole new layer of meaning to our experience. The insight he shared about the significance of each part of the memorial helped us connect more personally with the events and the resilience of the Oklahoma City community. It’s clear he is passionate about his role, and it made a real difference in our visit. This memorial is a must-visit for anyone in the area—both to pay respects and to better understand an important part of American history.

Amazing memorial! Since 9/11, it seems this tragedy seems to have been largely forgotten, but this memorial and museum does a great job of reminding us how big this event was. The memorial with the reflecting pool is beautiful and the part with the chairs is heartbreaking once you realize the small chairs represent the children that were killed. And the museum is very informative and the videos very moving. Glad we went and I highly recommend it!

What an incredibly touching memorial that can move the strongest person to tears. You can feel the pain at this memorial with so many innocent young and old lives lost. This was a beautiful memorial to honor those lives lost and those left behind. The outdoor memorial was very well constructed and the museum inside was eye opening and jaw dropping. Worth the experience as you will learn, see and hear actual recordings from that day. 💔

Visiting the memorial and museum was a powerful experience. I was 5 or 6 when this happened and don't have the most vivid memory of it so I'm glad to have visited to more truly understand the gravity of this tragedy. Our country would benefit by everyone visiting to see what happens when we give in to hatred and extremism but also to see the best in us when we come together and stand united.

Such a beautiful tribute to all affected by this horrible event. Planned on just going to the memorial but it was so beautiful that I had to come back the next day to the museum. While at the memorial a ranger came out and gave us a bit of history on the memorial, museum, and some facts about the bombing. I recommend everyone visiting at least once.

The OKC Bombing Memorial and Museum brings us back 30 years this year to one of those moments you'll never forget... the Memorial is beautiful and so beautiful compared to the violence that ripped thru the Heart of the Sooner Nation. The museum well curated and taught me things I never knew about that day.

The resort features an array of dining options, shops, a golf course, and an outdoor pool. Visitors can expect a seamless flow throughout the facility with numerous restaurant choices strategically placed around the resort. The casino boasts a wide selection of games including traditional table games like poker and blackjack as well as the latest slot machines with exciting bonus features.
My recent visit to WinStar World Casino was nothing short of amazing. As one of the largest casinos in the world, it immediately impresses you with its size and variety. The gaming floor is massive, filled with endless slot machines, exciting table games, and themed areas that make exploring the casino a fun experience in itself. Whether you’re new to gaming or an experienced player, there’s something here for everyone. What stood out to me most was the atmosphere and service. The casino had a lively yet welcoming vibe, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, making the entire visit smooth and enjoyable. Everything was clean and well-organized despite the huge crowd, which really showed how well the place is managed. Another highlight was the dining and entertainment options. From casual restaurants to fine dining, there were plenty of food choices, and the bars and lounges added to the vibrant atmosphere. The entertainment shows were a perfect addition, making the trip feel more like a complete getaway than just a casino visit. With its comfortable hotel rooms and relaxing amenities, WinStar offers both excitement and comfort. Overall, it was a truly memorable experience, and I highly recommend it.

My wife and I love to go to this casino. We stay at the hotel and stay at least 2 nights. I've seen reviews about people saying, "the water is too soft", but this is one of the reason's we love to stay here. The softness of the water is next level amazing. To say it's too soft is to say, "I prefer my showers to have dirt mixed with the water". The food is good, the service is good and they have non-smoking areas!!!

Nice and large casino. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Had an issue with one roulette machine. It was charging $5 per bet when you selected $1. I cashed out and try to redeem my ticket but the machine wouldn’t take it. Had to go to a cashier and wait on a manager to redeem my ticket. Kind of a pain. Later found another roulette machine that was broken as well. Saw several slot machines throughout that were out of order. So be aware of that and watch your bets. The Bingo hall was fun, but most of the machines were pretty tight. Not surprisingly as it is a casino after all. Overall had a good time. Drinks weren’t terribly expensive and all the restaurants we ate at were good.

Great place! Rooms are always clean and comfy. Staff are nice and helpful. Food is good. The only thing is sometimes at the buffet the food isn't kept hot. Mine was at the Asian side and it was warm so I didn't eat it because I know about temp control on holding foods. Over all it was a good place to eat. Player rewards are always good!

Thank you to start for your hard work. Your efforts make Windstar my go to place for fun enjoyable entertainment and a top notch hotel stay 👍💕🍻💰😉

WInstar used to be my happy place for almost a decade. Not anymore. Every visit this year has been more disappointing than the last. Slots are set to not pay out anymore. Comps are terrible and time sensitive. Food options are limited and most of them an insult if you are used to good food. It is just a huge hall filled with too many machines. There is just no vibe and people look miserable, including staff. W and Casino Hotel towers have constant water issues , so you don't know if you will be taking a cold shower again. Outlets and lights are often not working. Winstar, you have to do better if you want to keep your loyal regulars. Maybe you just don't care anymore because greed has taken over.

This is the most unique casino I have ever seen. I did not know you could walk so far in a casino and not even be half-way through it. Despite being jam-packed, there were always places to sit down and play. It did however, very rapidly eat my whole entertainment budget I set up for gambling with 0 bonuses, 0 excitement - but, that is really just the luck of the draw with gambling. You should only go with the intent for entertainment, never to win. While it may not have been gambling-entertainment, the facility itself was a wild experience to visit.
Philip S — Google review
I recently spent a weekend at Winstar Casino, and while I have to commend the hotel for its good service, my experience at the casino itself was quite disappointing. Upon arrival at the hotel, the staff were welcoming and attentive, making the check-in process smooth and enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, which set a positive tone for our stay. However, once we stepped into the casino, that warm experience quickly faded. While my friends and I were enjoying ourselves at the slots and tables, we encountered an unsettling atmosphere. The staff seemed to wear constant fake smiles, but it was clear that genuine hospitality was lacking. On one occasion, we were having a good time cheering for our wins and tipping the dealers, only to be approached and told to tone it down. It was disheartening to be told we could no longer drink, as we were simply trying to celebrate our fun moments. After being temporarily kicked out for being "too loud," we were grateful to be allowed back in the next day. Unfortunately, the negative experience continued. We felt as if we were under constant scrutiny, with several staff members giving us disapproving looks. One waitress even made a comment about our previous visit, implying that we were troublemakers. This left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, especially since we had acted respectfully and left the casino when asked. Overall, my experience at Winstar Casino was marred by unkind staff attitudes that overshadowed the fun we were trying to have. Despite the good service at the hotel, the negative interactions in the casino made this one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a casino. I believe the atmosphere would greatly improve if the staff adopted a more positive attitude towards guests just looking to have a good time.

The Museum of the George W. Bush Presidency contains 14,000 square feet of exhibits that detail the president's eight years in office. The collection also includes a replica Oval Office and a policy institute.
Incredible experience here at the George W. Bush Presidential Center! We visited on Memorial Day. There's a parking lot right across the street - parking was easy & cost $10.00 (if I'm not mistaking). Right on the campus of SMU, the center is beautifully surrounded. The center has a bunch of discounts for entry, I did not fit any of those criteria so my admission was $26. Everything was very informative & we enjoyed all of the interactive elements. I loved the decision-making simulator, it really puts things into perspective. I also loved getting to see all of the gifts that President George W. Bush received while in office. Seeing the oval-office remake was also a wonderful experience. There is an option to get your picture taken. I enjoyed seeing all of the 9/11 exhibits, always brings a tear to my eye - they did an incredible job with the exhibitions. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - very knowledge & ready to answer any questions! We had a wonderful experience!

Awesome experience! It’s the first presidential center I have been too but my son and I really enjoyed it. It’s not huge but the exhibition is well done and laid out well. During our visit, they had some of the exhibits closed but it was still great. They have an EXACT replica of the Oval Office as it looked when GWB was president. It’s located on the SMU campus and highly recommended.

This was a great experience. The tour was self guided, but there were several volunteers who were happy to provide additional information. The 9-11 section was amazing, overwhelming, and very emotional. Also, a full replica of the Oval Office is on site, and you can get your picture taken. While here, don't miss out on Cafe 43! The food was fantastic!!

Good museum! Other presidential libraries are better and more detailed, but it covers the time period well. It would have been nice to have more information regarding the WMD decision and nuance in Iraq. It touches on the financial crisis but felt rushed. Worth visiting!

Great museum that offers a fascinating look into the Bush presidency. The George W. Bush Presidential Center does an excellent job showcasing the major policies of the Bush administration, with a strong focus on the war on terror. One of the highlights for me was the replica Oval Office—it was very cool to see in person. But even more impressive was the actual situation room from the White House (circa 2006), which added a real sense of history and authenticity. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions and provide more context. There are also plenty of interactive exhibits that make the experience engaging and informative for all ages. The location on SMU’s campus is beautiful and adds to the overall atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re in the Dallas area!

A very nice library and museum for the second George Bush! Sunday afternoon was very quiet, and knowledgeable guides were able to answer all our questions. Rose garden looked a bit neglected but we did visit mid-Nov. Would have liked more on his childhood and courtship of wife.

This is one of 13 presidential museums around the country. Kenneth greeted us on our way in to the check-in desk. Gifts from other countries, given to president Bush and his wife, are in the main area. The Situation Room, presented by Lee, was super cool. Linda, in the Oval Office, explained the replica artifacts well.
Rick S — Google review
I was driving through Texas and decided to visit this place to see the Bush administration through adult eyes after growing up with him as POTUS. It’s mostly a standard museum exhibit wise but there are a few things that really make it stand out. First, it has an in depth explanation of some of his more controversial policies such as No Child Left Behind and the Iraq War, as well as highlighting some of his major successes like PEPFAR and protecting over 3M acres of wetlands. Obviously there was a bit of a slant in terms of how things were presented but it was still informative in nature. Second, it has a replica of the Oval Office, you do have to pay for a photo op but I think it’s worth it. There is also a Rose Garden replica outside which is where George and Laura will be buried someday. Third, there is a piece of metal from the Twin Towers on display which you can actually touch. That whole section was emotionally moving, you got to hear him say his famous “and those people who knocked the towers down will hear from all of us very soon” quote while you are looking at the images of what happened that day. And fourth, I think the best part of the museum is the Decision Points theater, which is an interactive game you can play where you choose what to do during several key moments of the Bush administration. You get policy advice from “experts” and see breaking news before making a final decision, and then you get to see Bush explain why he did what he actually did. Since I was the only one in the theater, I got to pick all three scenarios I did, and my decision was the “final one” (normally if more people play it’s whatever the group collectively decides). The gift shop at the end has a couple of his books and a lot of baseball related souvenirs, as well as Bush/ Cheney campaign merchandise. If you have small kids they may like the reversible donkey/ elephant plush toy. You do have to pay for parking, it’s ten bucks but it’s right across the street. Likely the cheapest parking you will find close by, from what I have observed with Dallas. In closing I would like to say that even though I disagreed with many of his policies (having grown up in a Democratic family), I think George W. Bush was a true leader who cared for the people of this nation and always did what he felt was the right thing. Sometimes those policies worked and other times they didn’t but you will see how much he cared by visiting this museum and listening to him give speeches at some of the exhibits… lastly, make sure you check out the somewhat hidden video right after the Rose Garden, there is a short clip of him singing in a cowboy hat which is really funny whether you like him or don’t. A great museum for anyone (regardless of party) to visit.

The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve ever visited. Spread across 66 acres along White Rock Lake, it’s full of lush greenery, vibrant flowers, shaded walkways, and relaxing water features. Every corner feels like a photo moment, from buzzing bees and colorful blooms to quiet, tree-lined paths and sculptures tucked among the plants. It’s perfect for families, couples, or anyone who just wants a calm day outdoors. The Jonsson Color Garden and Red Maple Rill are stunning highlights, and even with some areas under construction, the gardens still look incredible. Definitely wear comfy shoes, bring water, and go early for parking. The gift shop is adorable, full of garden-themed décor and souvenirs. The Arboretum also hosts amazing seasonal events like Dallas Blooms in spring and the Pumpkin Village in fall, such we attended today. It’s worth every penny of the ticket price, a must visit spot in Dallas for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who needs a peaceful escape. 🌸

I love it here! I came for the autumn festival. It’s a beautiful walk in nature. Would definitely come back for their Christmas event! I would recommend walking shoes, and plan to stay for a few hours. There’s a few cafes you can dine at as well. We saw a lot of people with picnic blankets and their own food or crafts, which would also be a great idea when visiting.

The Dallas Arboretum was absolutely beautiful and very well taken care of! There’s plenty of space for large groups to walk the trails comfortably. During my visit, there were two weddings happening, and both setups were stunning. The picnic area was peaceful and relaxing the view of the water made it even better. I also loved that they include areas for kids to play and learn, making it a great spot for families too. An employee mentioned that next week the Arboretum will be Christmas themed, which sounds amazing! Every staff member we came across was friendly, checked in with us, and made sure we were having a good time. I absolutely loved my experience here and definitely recommend visiting!

Took the family a few times now. Fall is beautiful with cooler temps and changing leaves. Their “12 days of Christmas” event held during the holidays is a must see. At night with all the decorations is a neat experience. Day visits we’ve seen bald eagles, falcons and all sorts of wildlife out there including coyotes early in the morning streaking through the empty open grass area!

I recently visited the Dallas Arboretum during the Halloween season, and it was absolutely enchanting! The garden was transformed into a festive wonderland, with stunning fall displays and the most creative use of pumpkins I’ve ever seen. The Pumpkin Mexico Village was a highlight—thousands of pumpkins, gourds, and squash arranged into whimsical scenes, cottages, and artistic structures. It was not only a visual treat but also a perfect photo opportunity at every turn. The attention to detail was impressive, from the themed scarecrows to the fall foliage complementing the displays beautifully. The atmosphere was family-friendly, vibrant, and full of autumn charm. Whether you're visiting with kids, friends, or just looking for a peaceful solo stroll, the Arboretum during Halloween is a must-see. Highly recommend making this an annual tradition—it’s the perfect way to celebrate the season and experience the beauty of nature with a festive twist. 🍁✨

If a beautiful stroll had a home address, it would be the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens at White Rock Lake. Whether you’re walking hand-in-hand with someone special or making memories with the whole family, the Arboretum sets the perfect mood for any Season. Breathtaking for Events, Wedding Photos, etc.... The skyline peeks through in the distance, the air feels festive, and joy is absolutely everywhere. With their 12 Days of Christmas currently on display, the Gardens are pure holiday enchantment. A must-see tradition for Dallas 💫

Crater of Diamonds State Park is a distinctive geological attraction situated on more than 37 acres of land. It offers visitors the opportunity to search for diamonds, rocks and minerals in a thrilling treasure hunt experience. The park also boasts a well-maintained campground with access to excellent shower facilities and picturesque walking trails leading to nearby rivers. Although camping fees may be considered expensive at $42 per night, overall, Crater of Diamonds State Park is an enjoyable destination worth visiting again in the future.
This was my first trip to Arkansas and it was a great one... Love the walking trails and there's so much information in the visitors center on site. You can go look around at the Diamond Mine without paying the $15.00 entry fee... They only charge if you are planning to dig... An awesome gift shop with really decent prices all around... Got most of my souvenirs from that one spot... If you are ever in Murfreesboro Arkansas you need to make a trip thru here you won't be disappointed....

We came to look for diamonds and stayed in the park's campground for one night. Spent 4 hrs playing in the dirt. Found no diamonds but had a great time. Campground was very handy. Full hookup, leveled sites and fair priced. Checkout time is 4 pm so plenty of time to wash up and depart. We would do it again if passing through. Great experience for the whole family.

Great place to take the family! Finding a diamond is a lot harder than you'd think. We had fun finding interesting rocks to take home. It was very hot and there is some shade, but I suggest you bring a large umbrella and a cooler. The staff was super nice and very informative. You can bring your own tools and sifters or you can rent or buy them there. We had a good time!

I visited the weekend of 11/7/2025 to 11/10/2025 with a Cub Scout Pack. The camping area was fantastic, the hiking trail was well maintained and the facilities were outstanding. The staff that booked our weekend worked with us as we wanted our entire group of 15 families close to one another, and they made it happen, for that I am very grateful. We took about 30 youth to the mining field Saturday morning and they were given a brief history on the park along with a Mining 101 course led by Park Interpreter Emma O’Neal, who did an absolutely fantastic job. The kids loved her presentation, she was very knowledgeable and professional. The biggest take away for me was her ability to talk to the kids in a way they would understand. The park has a fantastic interpreter in Emma. She definitely gave the kids motivation to be able to go out to the field and search for diamonds. This location will definitely be on our list to return to in the future.

The staff were very informative and knowledgeable. They were kind and considerate. The park was clean and in good condition. Wish we had gone to the interpretive program on mining 101! Bring a bucket and getting a wagon was a great choice. We wish we had planned better by having rain jackets during the rain and more hydrating drinks but that was on us ha can’t wait to go back!!! Best anniversary place we have gone 💚🎉

Wonderful campground with plenty of room for tent areas and RV's with electricity and water. We tent camped at a walk in site that shared water and trash bins, no electricity. It was designed so nice! And, we watched a deer leisured through the woods. Crater of Diamonds field was huge. Plenty of areas to dig and wash your finds. Videos to watch and helpful staff. Gift shop and a museum, interesting fact boards of the history of big diamonds are place throughout the areas, too.
Jackie K — Google review
We came in through LIT airport and chose our hotel roughly 50 miles away from the Diamonds State Park. We opted to be there when the park opens in the morning which was a great choice - less people, easier picking for a spot to start and comfortable to „work“ outside. I recommend to order the admission ticket ahead of time and online. Our group had a lot of fun and looking for the „one“ is much more challenging as it might seem. There are helpful posters and areas to learn more about the prospecting. The staff here is friendly and helpful, the entry fee and loaner fees for equipment to dig for fame are reasonable. Knowing how this all works now, we will be back at some point.

Still a great experience, even if you don't find anything! Early October is still hot but not very busy. Very friendly staff. Camp grounds was AMAZING. Wi-Fi, private showers with warm water, outlets, water fountains with water bottle fill up, well maintained and cleaned.

We had a wonderful night. Especially thanks to our server Brittney. She is so kind and professional. She goes out of her way to make sure my daughter and I are taken care of. Her service alone is reason enough to come back.

Comfortable hotel with every convenience, clean and quiet. The casino was nice, modern and well staffed. Pool area is really beautiful with a nice view, the only downside was the cigar bar hours, no late nights during the week. But plenty of outdoor areas for a cigar and the weather was great!
Pete C — Google review
Just visited this establishment this past weekend and the appearance of the inside of the hotel is wonderful! If you are someone with a handicapped placard, just note that anytime in the afternoon or night, you will not find a handicapped spot. It may be a longer walk for you that could be difficult.Especially if you use a wheelchair. One good thing that I like is that if you are a veteran or active duty, you get a member advantage card which is different than a regular player's card. As a new member, I got extra benefits because of being veteran. I also love that you get twenty percent off in restaurants.Such as jimmy's seafood and steak. Out of all the casinos that i've ever been to around the united states.I would have to say this one had the best odds of winning. Checking into the hotel though was kind of mediocre. There's not a lot of front desk staff to check you in.There were only two when we arrived. That day and no one is in any hurry to apologize for the long wait. You are just standing in line for a while. The elevators were kind of jolting when it comes to a stop. But the atmosphere of the elevator in the hallways, and the room door colors was wonderful. I did not like that. There was no microwave inside the room, but they do offer a mini fridge, as well as one of those little individual coffee pots where you put the coffee tray in. I do not drink coffee, so that's not something that worked for me. The cleanliness of the room could have been better as far as the service members, sweeping up the room and making sure that the chairs in the room were clean. Do love the walk in shower though. The bathroom was really nice, but they do not offer lotion like most hotels do. All in all though, I would have to say the hotel is comfortable. And the casino is nice, but it is not non smoking. May visit the casino again, but probably will not stay here again.

We went to this casino specifically to catch a Billy Bob Thornton concert performance. We also did some gambling and paid the casinos light bill for probably 2 minutes, which means we lost our money but we had a wonderful time. Staff is friendly, facility is clean. Concert venue was very nice. My friend that I took for her birthday is disabled and accommodations to seat her promptly was much appreciated and unexpected. We had a wonderful experience over all at this casino!
TERRY B — Google review
I stayed there for two nights and had a pretty good time all in all. It started with an extra charge that I was unaware of and no one at the front desk could really give me a lot of information about it other than the fact that it’s just a deposit it’ll be refunded. I paid for everything online…but either way we drove 5 1/2 hours to get there so we were ready to get to the room. The hotel was nice. The employees were very polite. Got up to the room, a double queen bed with a river view, just as promised. You can however see quite a bit of the rooftop below and AC units but you have a beautiful view of the river and Samstown. The sunset was beautiful and the sunrise on a foggy morning with people out there fishing was quite nice! As for the casino itself, it was awesome! It was huge and had a lot of awesome games, all the games you want to play and it let you play. Win some lose some. It wasn’t bad at all. My only gripe, and this is a big one, was the mattresses!!! Good Lord this casino was built in 2013 and I guarantee you the bedding is original. They were sunken in towards the inside where people would normally lay. You could feel the springs in them and they were hard as a rock! The covers were miserable as well. Very thin and cold. They were more like a weighted blanket in a psych ward rather than a comfortable, inviting bedspread you would expect to find in a beautiful hotel room. The pillows were awful as well. You know the pillows with a lot of air in them but as soon as the air lets out it’s like 1 million tiny cotton balls in there. It’s like they took a rat nest and sewed it up in a pillowcase! I mean you cannot sleep whatsoever unless you’re blind drunk! You’re gonna wake up sore regardless so don’t worry . Your neck, shoulder and hip will perish in the night💀 it’s pretty rough. I was unimpressed with that especially for what you pay for the rooms and how much money that place has coming in. I expected a lot more because at the end of the day it’s a hotel. There was a lot of people in there, everybody’s drinking and having a good time 90% of them probably slept on the floor but if you are one of the 10% that enjoys a comfortable bed This place is not for you. if you just want to gamble and have a good time and sleep somewhere else it was awesome🤘 The machines let you play. Food and the restaurants are kind of bougie. Don’t expect to walk around and just be able to buy a slice of pizza on the go or something like that. It’s oyster bars and seafood themes, that kind of thing very expensive I did not try them. I read reviews online. I did not spend my money on it. Do your own research there all in all it was a great time because We did not leave broke so if you’re there to gamble and just pace yourself, enjoy yourself and play some games for a couple days…I did OK. The hotel was nice. No parking deck but a huge parking lot. The food there is expensive but there’s options all around. The hotel rooms are clean and fresh and the staff is wonderful. The beds are absolute trash!
JD R — Google review
Went to spend a day away while visiting a friend, the hotel charged and kept my $100 deposit without any explanation. We barely stayed in the room, left it in better condition than we found it, there is no reason the deposit should have been held. They are still refusing to return my money. We stayed there for an affordable get away, not to be scammed out of my deposit.
Katherine S — Google review
I visited the casino only. The location is convenient, parking was accessible and close to entrance. The casino area was clean and well organized. Employees kept cleaning the slot machines, picking up trash etc. the dealers were kind and welcoming. Overall a great place to gamble and enjoy yourself.

We did not stay here, but did attend a concert in their Paradise Theatre. I highly recommend it because there really isn't a bad seat in the house. It is fairly small and no matter where you sit, you are close to the stage.

We went over the Fourth of July weekend and had a great time. We were in box 6A right on the finish line. If we go back I would move over a box to maybe 4 or 5 as there is a big black pole blocking the view of the track. All the staff was friendly and polite. We had a few bites from the Inside Rail restaurant which were all pretty good. The casino and restaurant area are all updated, however the track area is not. Quite dated. Even though it was indoors the AC was not able to keep up and the area was quite hot and stuffy. Definitely needs an HVAC update. All in all I would go again. No long lines at the betting stations.

Nice casino, no table games but lots of slots. Love watching the horse races and the Superderby is a blast. This is one of my top 3 favorite casinos in Shreveport Bossier. Free drinks in the casino and reasonably priced snacks and beverages in the track area. They have areas for kids and I brought my kids to watch camel and ostrich races a few years ago. They loved it!

My family and I had the BEST time at the Hot Air Balloon event! ☆there were so many great food trucks there, with so much variety. There was also regular "fair" food inside including nachos, hot dogs etc. ☆reasonable prices on beer•|| $6/16oz can||• ☆favorite part was all of the local vendors selling their artwork, clothing, candles, jewelry...you name it! ☆live music/bands all night (all of them were great!) ☆THE FIREWORK SHOW AT THE END WAS THE BEST ONE IVE SEEN IN ALL MY 35 YEARS OF LIVING! ☆ ☆PERFECT ENDING TO A PERFECT NIGHT!☆

Red River Hot Air Balloon Festival was a lot of fun. They had a lot of Venders, food, drinks, entertainment, live bands. Had about 25 hot air ballons. You could go up in a few of them for $25.00. If you got too hot, just go inside. My favorite was the fireworks 🎆 at the end.

Longwood is a unique house museum located in Natchez, Mississippi. It is an unfinished 8-sided antebellum mansion with a distinctive byzantine onion-shaped dome. The construction of Longwood Plantation began in 1860 but was interrupted by the Civil War, leaving the northern workers to abandon the project. As a result, only the exterior and basement level were completed before wealthy cotton planter Haller Nutt's death in 1864.
Great guided tour!! Wonderful park surrounding the building, so peaceful and beautiful! The house was not terminated back then and it is super interesting to see the “skeleton” (it’s a brick structure) of the building in the inside!

What a shame this home was never finished past the lower level. That being said, the upper levels are quite amazing as is. To look up and see the bones of this structure was awesome. Our guide Kay is very well versed on the history and hardship of this family. Enjoyed it very much.
Celeste L — Google review
This was probably our favorite tour of any of the antebellum homes in Natchez. Mona, who did the tour was really entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of not just the house but the area. We had a great time and would definitely go back. Makes me wonder what the upper floors would have been like if they'd been completed.

One of my very favorite Natchez homes to tour. It is sad how it's still incomplete, but it gives us a very rare opportunity to look up the skirts of an antebellum belle.

This was my first time on a swamp tour and it was a 10/10 experience. The pricing was excellent. The scenery was beautiful and we saw so many gators and various bird species. We got close enough to get great pictures. Mr. Jimmy was our guide and he was knowledgeable/very engaging. To anyone that’s wondering should they book: don’t hesitate, book now!

Absolutely wonderful experience!!! We have made a lot of tourist spots and experiences around all of Louisiana, and this is our absolute favorite. Beautiful scenery, wildlife, friendly knowledgeable guides, who go out of their way to make sure you get the best possible experience and tour. I can’t describe to you the experience in a way that will do it justice…. Just absolutely amazing. We came in for the ten o’clock tour. In late October, so the weather was great, we did see all kinds of wildlife including a dozen gaters and all manner of birds. The price is outstanding!! $50 for two people!! Tell where else you get and hour + tour for that kind of money! The gift shop is welcoming and souvenirs very affordable. Drinks refreshments and even cold beer are available!! Please don’t miss out on this. It’s fun for any age!! Restroom facilities, and plenty of parking for any size rig or RV. We highly recommend.

Went this past Sunday with a large group. Because there were so many of us we were split between two boats — I was fortunate to have Jimmy as our captain and guide. He was so knowledgeable of the area and had a great eye for spotting wildlife. This was my first boat tour and it was great to see the beautiful scenery Louisiana has to offer. Thank you, Jimmy!

We had a great time. Perfect weather Jimmy was our guide and he was amazing. We saw Ibis, Egrets, Herons, anhingas … even a Spoonbill! Also a nest of baby alligators. The yellow flowers growing everywhere made it a memorable day! Highly recommend!

The Tour doesn’t disappoint! Highly recommended for anyone who wants a real swamp and bayou experience. The guide is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the surrounding wildlife. The guide also made sure we were all safe regarding the wildlife. I know I will be back during different times of the year to experience the wildlife during more seasons.

My wife and I were visiting the area, she wanted to get off the beatin path and see some alligators, this place did not disappoint. Price was reasonable for what it was, the tour guide was knowledgeable and nice. We had a great time and got some good pictures of wildlife and learned quite a bit about the wild life too!

The TABASCO Factory Tours offer a fascinating experience for visitors interested in the history and production of the famous hot sauce. The museum showcases Tabasco history exhibits and provides self-guided tours through various production buildings. Visitors can explore the greenhouse with pepper plants, see where the pepper mash is stored, and witness the bottling process. The tour offers detailed information throughout, making it an educational experience for all. Additionally, there is a gift shop available for souvenirs and restrooms for convenience.
Unexpected delight! Jungle gardens are an amazing drive/walk experience. Loved being able to tour at our own pace as well. We had budgeted about an hour and a half but forced ourselves to leave after about 3 hours. Will definitely return, perhaps in the fall. Lady’s at the gift shop treat you like family. Make sure to try the Ice Cream!! Who’d a thunk it!😂

We had a spectacular visit. So interesting to learn the process of making the beloved sauce. The grounds are beautiful. The tour is self-guided but very well marked! The store is very nice and you can sample the different varieties. I would suggest going when it is cooler. Definitely a hot visit.
Lori P — Google review
Lots of information to read about and the self guided walking tour was good. I went early Sunday morning, so it was very quiet and no bottling was happening. Still, I enjoyed a slow walk and spent about 90 minutes taking it all in. I'd say it's well worth a visit.
Russell D — Google review
Extremely glad that we went! The museum itself is very informative. The family is very impressive! The tour is really really cool, especially seeing the plants and bottling. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The gift shop though... incredible! It was awesome being able to try all of the different types. They had Tabasco ice cream, soda, queso, etc. Definitely didn't leave without a bunch of sauces and souvenirs. I would definitely go back.

We enjoyed our visit. Staff is friendly and helpful. We got there around 2.45 pm. We were able to finish factory tour by 4 pm after having coffee there. The restaurant closes at 2.30 pm in late October. After 4 pm, we drove to the jungle gardens. Got to see an alligator. Driving thru jungle gardens is an unforgettable experience. Giant live Oak trees and variety of bird species. We were done by 5.30 pm.

I had such a nice time exploring. The gift shop is nice and the staff friendly and helpful. I especially enjoyed tasting the "family reserve" Tobasco. It is aged for 8 years before bottling. The restaurant was laid back. The menu consisted of many homemade recipies. The chef talked to us and helped us choose what we might like. The jungle tour was peaceful and relaxing. We downloaded an app which gave us an audio tour of what we were seeing. We spotted 2 alligators and of course birds. The "bamboo trail" was fun. We had a wonderful time.

This is such a cute experience. I really enjoyed the museum and the self-guided tour. It wasn't a huge tour, but I enjoyed what I saw and learned. The folks in the store were so nice and there's a tasting bar!! I ate in the restaurant, which was ok, but I felt like I needed to so I could round out the experience. I'll definitely go back when I come back to LA because I'd like to walk the Jungle Gardens next time.

Wow!! Very thorough and thoughtfully created museum and tour, and quite reasonably priced. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to read or enjoy the majority of it, as I was chasing two small kids, but I still enjoyed what I saw. There are several exhibits both indoors and outdoors, plus an optional, quick walking path through a bamboo forest. Very cool spot to check out, even if you’re not a big Tabasco sauce fan. Super cool gift shop with a little something for everyone, and a DELICIOUS restaurant next door called 1868.

Very beautiful grounds to walk around. I was shocked by the high prices though. A 30min house tour and self guided garden tour for one adult and one 10 year old cost us $54! I did a much better plantation tour last year with multiple buildings for under $10! I guess it is because it is privately owned. Overall, I am glad my 10 year old enjoyed it almost as much as I did.

I was out exploring Ascension Parish with my longtime Navy friend and made Houmas House and the Great River Road Museum our historic/educational stop as we always do on our visits. I’ve been learning about things I never knew on this side of the Mississippi over the past 3 years since moving here. I was well-acquainted with the Acadian and prairie side of the Atchafalaya Basin and want to learn more of the roots in my chosen new home. Sharing it with a great friend is the bonus. We stopped and explored the museum and house that was chock full of interesting artifacts and historical accounting. It was interesting to see how many of the original family names still permeate the place names and roads. I discovered some interesting facts about a friend’s family history. I’ve just begun to explore the River Road and its hidden gems. It’s changed so much since 1989 when I first traversed its path. Sadly necessary history (good or bad but needs recounted) is slowly being lost to the ravages of weather and industry, so exploring these gems and the small towns like the historic Donaldsonville (which we visited the day prior) are worth a stop to slow down and pause to reflect on where we’ve been juxtaposed to how far we’ve come and where we’re headed. These places should make you feel something so that we remember and never fall into that mindset again. Humanity is better than its dark past and sadly our shaky present. But only together can we all rise for a better tomorrow.

See it, tour it and stay there overnight in one of the cabins in a beautifully wooded area West of the parking lot. The check in is by the museum parking lot and the Dixie Cafe. It is a delightful place with lovely gardens in which to linger and enjoy the many sculptures all over the place. Lunch and Dinner are served in the Carriage House. After dark, it becomes magical!

We were in Baton Rouge for Fall Break and came here at the recommendation of friends. This place was fantastic. We paid for the guided tour and it was well worth it. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and it was fantastic to learn so much history about Baton Rouge and this house. I won't elaborate because - no spoilers! If you are in the area, definitely go here and get the guided tour! Also, the grounds are well kept and so beautiful. Make sure to walk around and see them either before or after the tour.

Very nice and highly recommended. Our tour guide Ruby was great. I myself a dog lover loved the story of the owner's 2 beloved dogs that married & he had a ceremony for them. I swear in my pictures a tan dog ran through the home. Excellent place to visit my pictures does it no justice. Thank you from Fort Worth, Texas this was mom's 2nd time to seeing it and last time was over 23 years ago.

Interesting place to see way of southern living in 18-19 centuries. Unfortunately there were no historically preserved rooms, no original furniture, and there is a little story behind the tour. I put 4 stars only for the beauty of place and gorgeous gardens. From learning perspective i would recommend to find other plantations with long history.

Oak Alley Plantation, also known as the Grande Dame of the Great River Road, is a former plantation in Louisiana that offers guided tours and exhibits about local history and sugarcane cultivation. The iconic Antebellum Mansion and the stunning canopied path created by a double row of live oak trees make it a popular attraction.
Great site for history immersion! The self guide is nice for leisure strolls. If you want guided tours this are available on the grounds and in the home. The gardens are well kept as well and the botany placards are a wonderful addition. We got caught in the storm before making it to the gift shop so I'll save that for another trip but even in the rain the live oaks made a noise umbrella!

Beautiful plantation but only got to see a few rooms inside. Large grounds and very nice recreation of other out buildings with plaques and explanations. Dining, gift shop and bathroom facilities to accommodate large groups. Our group tickets had entrance time so we were able to stroll the grounds before our tour started.

Oak Alley Plantation is undeniably beautiful. The peaceful grounds and the stunning avenue of oaks make the setting feel almost unreal. But that beauty stands in sharp contrast to the unimaginable cruelty that took place here. This land is calm today, yet it is also a place where people were tortured, exploited, and where blood was spilled. It is important not to forget that. There *are* cabins and exhibits that present the history of slavery, and they contain valuable information. But they still feel secondary, placed on the margins while the main focus remains the plantation house and the lives of the white enslavers. Their world is given far more space, attention, and storytelling than the lives of the enslaved people who built and sustained this place. I left feeling that Oak Alley should function more like a memorial than a typical museum visit. The beauty of the surroundings should not overshadow the reality of what happened on this land. The stories of the enslaved deserve to be brought to the center, treated with the depth, respect, and visibility they warrant. There should be no softening or downplaying of the cruelty that shaped this place.

This specific plantation does not worth that amount of money you paid for. $80 per person, one hour drive from New Orleans, only 30 minutes guided tour 😲. The place looks impressive on the photos, but in the reality it's a modest size building. We were dropped off and spent one hour walking around. There are a several replicas of slaves' houses, two small gardens, and the gift shop. Staff of the gift shop was amazing. Not much to see inside of the mansion. No photos taking allowed indoors. Our guide Makkenzie showed us only dining room and one of the bedrooms. We were rushed through the building, we didn't have possibility to ask the questions, and our guide skipped two rooms to show to us even she was talking about it as her favorite room. When we asked her to show us that missing exhibition, she called her manager David. He was very rude and intolerant. I couldn't believe such an unprofessional behavior. After we were pushed out of the building, we spent more than two hours walking around the grounds on the heat. You are not aloud into the building on your own. The duration of the trip door to door from your hotel is approximately 8 hours. Definitely, not worth that money and time we spent on this trip.

Small but pretty sugar cane plantation. Guided tour of the house but no photo or video. Grounds are nice. Educational particularly about slaves' history. Very troubling. Buy tickets in advance for the time of day you want your tour. Recommended

Our guide was very informative which I appreciate. We learned a lot just about the mansion. I wish we had more time to delve into the slave quarters and the guide that spoke there. Highly recommend this tour. Try a Mint Julep there too!!

Beautiful grounds, enjoyed learning the history of this place, and the big house has AC during the tour, which is a nice little break from the heat outside. Wish we could take pics on the inside as there are a lot of pretty little pieces. This place also has a restaurant and a small area for grab and go foods and blue bell ice cream, which was the best after walking around in the heat. The ice tea was good as well. It's served outside the big house.

Went on a weekday, it was pretty empty. We were able to roam the outdoor grounds freely once we had checked in at the front. The tour is an education on the house and those who owned the home. You can do a self guided tour of the other buildings on the property while you wait for the tour of the home. They have a gift shop and food available towards the back of the property.

Laura Plantation is a historic 1805 sugarcane plantation located just outside Vacherie, Louisiana. The plantation offers daily guided tours that provide insight into the Creole culture and the lives of the people who lived and worked there. The main attraction is the 24,000 square foot home featuring Creole architecture with galleries and brick-between-post construction.
If you're in New Orleans and looking for something to do that is both educational and family friendly, I highly recommend visiting Laura Plantation. It's about an hour away from N.O., but well worth the drive. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beauty and history of the property. The tour was absolutely fantastic—our guide (which was also named Laura) was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and made the history come to life with fascinating stories about the people who lived and worked on the plantation. The grounds themselves are stunning. I learned so much about the cultural and historical significance of this place. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whole visit felt like a truly educational and moving experience. If you're in the area, this is an absolute must-see! Highly recommend!

I went to Laura and Oak Alley Plantations on the same day. Both plantations are incredibly beautiful and you can feel the buildings filled with histories. I highly recommend our guide in Laura, Caroline. She is very knowledgeable, and has numerous detailed stories about the property and its Creole history. I definitely learned and enjoyed the trip a lot.

We had a great time. Guide was awesome. Well paced and well researched. Would definitely recommend this compared to the more touristy oak alley. Hit up B+C after for lunch too.

The plantation is beautiful and history very interesting but to me the staff are the real standout. Took and Uber out to the plantation and as soon as we got out the staff ran out and asked us if it was an Uber. We said ‘yes’ and they let us know that it was basically a dead zone and they ran after our Uber and asked them to stay and take us back. They do have this on their website but we didn’t see it and just off the cuff chose to come out. Can’t praise the staff enough as they were so wonderful and they helped us so much.

i would like to say thank you to kristyn, our tour guide who gave us a meaningful and informative tour. we learned about the family and the lives of slaves who lived there. they were not trying to sugar coat which i highly respect. knowledge is power. we need to learn so we can heal. i’m grateful to have gone here to learn more about how this interesting and unique creole culture affected the slave trade in louisiana. still messed up and sad though

It was disappointing. The story told is of the plantation owners and their family. Slavery is hardly mentioned. Was it rare for women to run a business in 1800? For sure. But it's not like they did much to get the job.. They were born into it and their husbands died, leaving them in charge. Is it impressive that women run the plantation successfully? Not really. Why wouldn't they? Especially when they don't need to pay for labor. You get a quick 5 min in one of the slave quarters, too fast for anyone to even notice the "bathroom" (a chair with a hole in the seat). You leave the tour feeling proud of the women who run it, but when you stop and think about it you realize how skewed the whole angle is. Yes, slavery was horrible and that's why people come to this tour - to understand it better. You don't get that here. The guide, Laura, was a great guide with lots of energy and a great sense of humor, but she rushed through the premises and barely mentioned the reason we were there - to learn about the slaves. I'd skip this for the Whitney.

This tour offers a comprehensive insight into the origins of the plantation and the ancestors who preserved and carried on its legacy.

Embark on an adventure with Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, a private refuge that offers narrated boat tours through the captivating Louisiana swamps. As you cruise through the waters, keep your eyes peeled for alligators, raccoons, and various other wildlife. The tour provides an ideal opportunity to delve into the mesmerizing lakes, bayous, and swamps of Louisiana while being entertained by informative narration.
We had an amazing time with Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, and our guide, Dustin, was fantastic! He knows exactly what you’re hoping to see and shares so much interesting information along the way. We got to watch raccoons and gators enjoying marshmallows (who knew they loved those?!). I even joked, “The gator’s gonna be the first with diabetes,” and Dustin, being the knowledgeable guide he is, taught me that gators don’t even have a pancreas to begin with! He kept us entertained the whole time, and there wasn’t a single dull moment. Highly recommend booking a tour with him!

Our Captain was Dustin and it was one of the best swamp tours we have ever been on. He was super funny and knowledgeable. He made sure that everyone got an opportunity to see wild life. There was so many animal encounters during this tour. Such a great experience. Highly recommend it.

Such a fun tour!!! Saw so many gators!!! Fun fact: they LOVE marshmallows lol got to see raccoons and wild boars with their babies too! Very informative and Dustin was a great guide!! Highly recommend this tour!! I did one in Florida a few years ago and barely saw any gators. This one was SO WORTH IT!!!!

This tour was fantastic from start to finish. Booking was simple, and the pickup and drop-off process was very convenient. Our bus driver, Big Joe, was incredibly informative and shared excellent dining recommendations for our time in New Orleans. Captain Danny made the tour both fun and memorable with his humor and engaging style. We saw plenty of alligators and raccoons, and the absolute highlight was getting to hold a baby alligator. I HIGHLY recommend choosing this tour over any others!

We had an amazing experience with Cajun Pride Swamp Tours! Our captain, Dustin, truly made the tour unforgettable. He was incredibly informative and clearly knowledgeable about the swamp, its history, and all the wildlife that calls it home. You could tell he knew exactly how to handle both the boat and the animals with confidence and care. Captain Dustin also had a great sense of humor—his jokes kept everyone laughing and made the entire ride fun and engaging. We were able to see so much wildlife, including wild boars, raccoons, and plenty of alligators, which was definitely a highlight of the trip. Overall, the tour was entertaining, educational, and completely worth it. Highly recommend Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, especially with Captain Dustin!

This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done!! Close up views of gators, raccoons, wild hogs and turtles. The swamp was quite active. Captain Dustin was awesome! Funny, educational and answered all of our questions with grace. 😉 10/10 recommend for anyone interested in seeing some active gators! 🐊

To be honest, we left feeling a bit disappointed. There were definitely some positives: we did see a few gators, hogs, raccoons, and birds, got to take a photo with a baby alligator, and the guide’s jokes gave us a few laughs. However, the experience still felt somewhat staged. The wildlife sightings seemed almost too conveniently placed, which made the whole tour feel less authentic. Our guide also didn’t seem very engaged, almost like he wasn’t really interested in being there. We were also expecting to see more alligators. If this isn’t the best season for sightings, it would be helpful for the company to clearly communicate that before guests book the tour. Overall, not terrible — but definitely below our expectations.

It was a great tour. Our orginial spot had to be canceled and they were helpful and offered two different time slots for us to choose from. Our tour guide Dustin is great at his job, he deserves a raise. He is very knowledgeable and his passion for the job shows. The fun facts he gave applied to the animals we were seeing and were very informative. The amount of animals we had seen far exceeded the expectations and made the already reasonable price worth it even more. I would recommend this place.
