Lac Du Bois Grasslands Protected Area

Ecological park
Nature & Parks
Lac Du Bois Grasslands Protected Area boasts an array of hiking trails, rivers, lakes and diverse wildlife such as bighorn sheep. The natural beauty of the sprawling grasslands with its mesmerizing colours is an ideal location for photography enthusiasts. Trekking through steep gradients with loose dirt and stones requires proper footwear, trekking poles and experience. Additionally, visitors can engage in fishing on Lac Du Bois Lake while exploring the vastness of the park.
Lots of Ticks this time of year! Do a thorough clothing check before getting back into vehicle. Scenery here is amazing!
Tina W — Google review
Desolate, lonely, empty, amazing. The road is not paved for 90% of the time, but instead is of loose gravel so keep that in mind if your car is not good for driving on loose gravel. Also, drive slow, loose gravel is slippery! The desertification of Kamloops is very real these days and this place is uber dry.
Steven H — Google review
Amazing so many different places to see in the Grasslands but have done Saddleback area, and the most wonderful Cinnamon Ridge. Very dangerous. Need great hiking boots, trekking poles and experience hiking steep gradients with loose dirt and stone. Was a crazy feat just making to back down the ridge.
Kaitlin B — Google review
Beautiful panoramic views, nice blend of forest and grassland. Lots of birds to view as well.
Speggy1972 — Google review
Love the area for taking photos of the landscape and wildlife. There are many, many hiking trails throughout the area and fishing on Lac Du Bois Lake.

Great hike doing cinnamon ridge. Be careful though lots of the trails lead to cliffs or very steep sections.

Nice spot to sleep when passing through. I love the way the city slowly lights up as the sky gets dark.

Chances Casino - Kamloops

Went for breakfast this morning and was it ever good! Not only is this spacious - yet cozy- restaurant one of the only places open at 930am on a Sunday, but everything is made from scratch and beautifully presented! Service was exceptional as well. Thank you Channa! Photos are Eggs Benny and French toast.

They have this eatery at the one end of the place. It has a Chicken Taco Salad on the menu. I was craving a good salad when I sat down. It was very delicious, I recommend it for sure. Mmmm.
Bobbi B — Google review
It wasn't chances its self but the restaurant inside. My ma and I ordered a dinner slab of.ribs and half a chicken and it was disgusting no spices on the chicken or sauce over cooked and wasn't a half of a chicken either wasn't worth ordering and the service I give props to the bartender I feel him he was swamped he was busier then the waitresses. And he definitely made up for the lack of services but again not his fault... management you were standing right there and you could of helped a lending hand so shame on you. Hopefully next time it'll be better

Food took 40 minutes at 215pm. I was hungry and upset I’ll admit. But only after the steak and fries showed up cold, not warm, but cold. I just couldn’t wait for a second round of that so I declined their offer to “rush” a second steak since that’s still 20 more minutes. Kids ate theirs and we were off. Staff could not have cared less so we paid the bill and left. They were courteous enough to remove the dinner from the bill which nice since I didn’t eat it. Left feeling like I should have done more myself somehow
Mattsowell — Google review
Was told there would be an hour wait to be seated. I have never needed to make a reservation when going to Barside Grill. We wanted to celebrate a 91st birthday and were basically turned away. Very disappointing 😞

Great casino, only flaw is getting a handbag takes 10 minutes plus. They need more attendants on the floor.
Brent P — Google review
Ordered a skip meal, seafood linguine, received no cream sauce, but it was incredibly oily. Got 2 shrimp, 2 mussels, and the shredded salmon. When i first started ordering this dish you would get 4-5 shrimp, 4 mussels and 4 decently sized pieces of salmon, and a decent portion of pasta with good sauce. Today i received a meal not worthy of the name seafood pasta. No flavour, no sauce, small amount of seafood. Hopefully next time you do better. Editted: ordered meal at 223pm received at around 245pm, at 1235am, 9 hours later, i was violently ill with food poisoning. Looking back the shells on the mussels were cracked open. Im now concerned that the mussels were not fit for serving. I will be contacting the casino immediatly in the morning.

Bingo is okay except for the live music that comes from the restaurant. Makes it difficult for both the caller and the players to hear one another. Wish Bingo was offered more than just Fri, Sat, Sun.

This is an amazing area to take your family. Sandy beach, swimming and take your dog along with you. Great place to take photos and just enjoy a day out in the sun. Also you can find different kinds of wildlife in the area as well.

The Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park, situated on the South Thompson River in Kamloops, BC, offers a captivating experience of Indigenous culture. The museum is a testament to the collective efforts of the Secwepemc nation in preserving their history, language, and heritage. Visitors can explore permanent exhibits showcasing their history and temporary displays featuring traditional games.
Second day of Kamloopa pow-wow! Totally awesome, as usual. Well-run with organized parking, security, first aid, golf cart shuttles from parking to the arbor, concession food areas, and a variety of great vendors. The noon grand entry was huge, with the entire arbor filled by eye-dazzling dancers of all ages. Seeing the tiny tots take the grass to dance their hearts out gives one hope for the future. The drumming galvanizes anyone with a heartbeat :) A summer essential!

Very interesting exhibition in two galleries with a third one to come (was under construction). One can see the passion and effort going into this museum of Secwépemc history and culture. It's worth a visit for sure.
Kate — Google review
Very much enjoyed this museum. Two smallish galleries with a third opening very soon. I would definitely go back once that opens as it will be focussed specifically on the residential school. The existing galleries are more specially about pre-contact history. I think it is so important to become knowledgeable about all of this history. I recommend making this museum part of your stay in Kamloops.
Roy E — Google review
Very poor museum... Not worth a dollar... Two small rooms with few items. We were the only visitors and none of the ten people there offered any explanation. And cherry on top of the cake, they managed to drill some holes in the wall while we were there.... Too expensive for what it is... Not to be recommended
Ayrthon M — Google review
A really lovely museum about the culture and way of living of the Secwepemc. The display is great and with a lot of explanations. The 3rd room is all about the time where kids were brought to schools and taken from their families. Which is very sad to read but good explained as well. We really loved this museum!

Enjoyed this museum a lot. Beautiful displays and stories sharing precontact and postcontact events, including the horror of residential schools.

BC Wildlife Park is a spacious zoo and rehabilitation center that houses a wide variety of animals native to British Columbia. The park is home to over 60 species, including grizzly bears, arctic wolves, black bears, bobcats, coyotes, and cougars. Many of these animals were orphaned or rescued. In addition to the diverse wildlife, the park features a gallery, educational exhibits, a Wildlife Education Center, gift shop, cafe, and outdoor playground.
The BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops is a truly special place that leaves you with a full heart. It’s more than just a zoo — it’s a rescue and rehabilitation center for animals native to British Columbia. Over 60% of the animals here have been rescued, and the park does an incredible job of educating and connecting people to wildlife and nature. You’ll see grizzly bears, arctic wolves, cougars, birds of prey, and more. There’s also a picnic area, a small water park for kids, a mini train ride, a gift shop, café, amphitheatre, and a petting zoo. It’s spacious, well-organized, and a perfect place for families or anyone who cares about animals and the environment. Highly recommended!
Anastasiya L — Google review
Visited in September. BC Wildlife Park was a sweet and memorable stop. Loved seeing the rescued animals—they looked safe and well cared for, which was really heartwarming. Owl Talk was a definite highlight! Getting up close to such a beautiful bird was amazing. The observation hive was super cool too. The spirit bear is the standout, but no luck spotting it this time. Still, a lovely visit overall.
Amy W — Google review
We had such an amazing time at BC Wildlife Park. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Unfortunately, we missed the train ride, but there was still so much to see and enjoy. The park is very family-friendly, with great facilities for all ages. One highlight for me was seeing the cougar laying right at the gate, such a beautiful moment! Also, I absolutely loved the honey in the gift shop definitely worth picking up a jar.
Katie N — Google review
We absolutely love the place. They only have rescued animals and the have signs telling you the story of each animal plus really interesting facts about that animal species. We went in a hot sunny summer day so recommend to bring a hat and a ton of sun screen. The splash zone they have was a blast that gave us some relief from the hot weather. We were able to see so many animals (recommend checking the feeding schedule), we love the bears they have in particular the white one which is only found in BC. They have some timings for you to go a pet some goats and sheep they have, they even provide brushes which are like a spa for the animals, they love to be pet and are super friendly and cute
Carolina J — Google review
A bit disappointed by the facilities. Needs renovations. The train 🚂 was not running unfortunately. Off season prices too expensive. When we arrived at 10:30am there was almost no animals out it felt very strange, like an abandoned old zoo. Later on we saw more but some of the cages were not looking very clean. The birds section was great. It is nice to have the story of the rescue of each animal. They definitely should replace most of the fences by glasses. Not that much of “wild” animal.
Lou L — Google review
Visited BC Wildlife Park on Canada Day, and despite the hot weather, we had a wonderful time. We got to see a variety of animals, including the bear, which was a highlight. Though not as many animals as you'd expect from a zoo since this is wildlife refuge. The little train ride was a fun and relaxing way to explore the park, especially for kids. One of the best features on a hot day was the water sprinklers, the kids had a blast cooling off and running through them. The park is well laid out with shaded areas and great for families. A fun, educational, and refreshing day out, highly recommended!
Jas S — Google review
This is such an extraordinary place to go. There's a vast amount of things to learn, and Animals to see. It took about an hour to walk around the park, but was very easy for me even with a bad hip. The grizzlys were super interactive as well. Definitely worth the drive. I'll be coming back with my kids.
Paige D — Google review
We visited late on a hot July afternoon and only had 1.5 hrs to tour. As expected, it was hit and miss with seeing the animals in their enclosures, and at that time of day we had the park pretty much to ourselves. That said, everything appeared to be well laid out, well signed, and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the birds of prey exhibit, and noted there is a family farm where visitors can interact with farm animals. Judging from the sandwich board sign of the day’s activities it is better to arrive in the morning to take advantage of feedings and demonstrations.

Wineries & Vineyards
Privato Vineyard & Winery is a family-run boutique winery located in the heart of BC's Thompson River Valley, specializing in producing top Burgundian-style wines. The name 'Privato' reflects the private and idyllic setting of this vineyard. They focus on small-batch production, with a selection of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Visitors can enjoy their award-winning wines at the intimate tasting room and lawns, while taking in the serene ambiance.
We had our wedding ceremony at Privato, and we could not recommend it more! The venue is beautiful, with lush gardens of flowers, beautiful buildings, trees, and more. The staff were easy to work with and quick to respond to emails! They had a room that we used to get into our dresses and a space away from the ceremony/guest location for my husband and I to have a private “first look” and exchange personal vows. All of our photos turned out so beautiful, and it is mostly thanks to this incredible venue! They allowed us to stay in the gardens after our ceremony to take photos with family and the wedding party. They even let our 2 dogs be a part of the ceremony and photos! Privato provided wine barrels for us to use as/for decorations, and they closed the garden area to the public for the entire day on our wedding day. We were allowed to have a full rehearsal and set up our chairs, archway, and decorations the day before. We also dropped our artificial bouquets and all dresses off to hang up in the locked room that day, which took a huge stress off our shoulders for the wedding day! So many guests complimented the venue and couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. I have included some photos from the day at Privato. We would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a wedding venue!

Privato Winery & Woodward Cider Co. Had to be a Kamloops visit destination while I was in the area. They have comfortable outside and a rustic inside seating to enjoy the offerings. Skilled and informative staff are happy to describe everything as well. I was informed of the great seasonal events they have.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Privato Winery. Mackenzi and Candace were amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable, and they made the wine and cider tasting such an enjoyable experience. We felt welcomed the entire time and truly appreciated how well they explained everything. Would definitely recommend!
Manuella M — Google review
Great destination for fall fun and fine wine! The environment is absolutely gorgeous, and the pumpkin patch is always a lovely tradition. While the cider wasn't a hit, the wine is superb. It was a bonus to have a great vendor on site to eat, making it easy pair and enjoy a glass of wine or cider right before or after picking our pumpkins. We'll be back for the wine and the views!
Tatiana P — Google review
I just wanted to say the biggest thank you to the amazing team at Privato Winery. I had bought a Mother’s Day tasting for my mum and me through their website, but a few days before, I saw a woman selling a gift basket on Facebook Marketplace. I thought I scored a deal—but unfortunately, it turned out to be a scam. The confirmation number she gave me wasn’t even close to the real ones Privato uses… So annoying but my own fault. Sidney and Catalina were nothing but kind and patient. They looked at the message I got and told me they think I had been scammed. And here’s where they completely blew me away: instead of turning us away (which they honestly could have done, because none of this was their fault), they rallied together and helped us. They put together a basket for us right there on the spot and turned what could’ve been a disappointing afternoon into something really special. The wine was incredible, the ciders were so good, the charcuterie was delicious, and the entertainment was just the cherry on top. But more than that, it was the kindness of the people that made the day perfect. Thank you Sidney, Catalina, and everyone at Privato. You went above and beyond, and I’m so grateful. You gave my mum and me a beautiful memory we’ll never forget.

20 minutes drive from Kamloops, this place was a gem to discover. Great for the whole family, and the prices are still reasonable. The snow was perfect, the runs wide open, no crowds to deal with, we will definitely be back.

Great COVID safety practices in place. What a great mountain with lots of options offered. Staff was super friendly and patient. The runs are well set up and everyone on this mountain has fun! Unpretentious and perfect for all levels! I never want to leave! I found my happy place ❤️
David R — Google review
My first time here and the kids first time skiing. I found this place on Google, and the positive reviews do not do this place enough justice. I've been to a handful of ski resorts and skiing locations, but this was one of my best experiences. To start, the staff here were all extremely friendly and accomodating from fitting to tickets to the restaurant. The staff on the lifts were also very helpful with the kids, especially because they were first timers on the slope. The instructor, Cameron, was awesome. Shout out to him as he approaches his 50th year of teaching! The other main reason why we'd come back to Harper was the lack of lines. Whether it was the tow bar or T Bar lifts, there was virtually no wait time which made it that much more fun for everyone. One word of advice for visitors not accustomed to driving on cold or snowy conditions, make sure to check the weather report and bring chains. It snowed the second day, so we had to pull over on the side of the mountain to put on chains. Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip early due to an injury, but we may make this an annual thing.

Sagewood Winery is a family-run establishment that offers a delightful wine tasting experience. The owner, Doug, is knowledgeable and passionate about his craft, which is evident in the delicious wines produced. Visitors can expect to receive wonderful insights into various wines along with great family stories from the host, Shelley. The winery boasts a diverse selection of wines including Merlot, White Ortega, Sparkling Wine, and Kerner white wine.
Girl’s weekend found us stopping at this hidden unsuspecting gem. Now one of my top wine tasting experiences. Doug and Nick are so proud of their wines. The time they spent with us answering all our questions about soil to sales was greatly appreciated. We had so many laughs! There is no need for pressure sales the wine sells itself and Doug simply recommends buying what you like! That’s some honest business practice right there! 10/10 would recommend a little jaunt across the river to the county side to explore this winery!

We had a most enjoyable experience at the winery. We were passing through Kamloops and saw details of the winery. We hadn't booked, and received a very hospitable reception, and had a great time learning about the grape and the different wines as well tasting the different wines. Many thanks for making part of our trip in Canada such fun, and we're enjoying the Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot.🥂

My Fiancé and I stopped here on our way back to Calgary. We were earlier than expected and Dr. Doug rushed to accommodate us right away. He was knowledgeable and passionate, everything you want in a Winery host. Not to forget the wines had a unique and wonderful flavour. I highly recommend Dr. Doug’s service and wine!

We had a really great experience here recently! Our group of six dropped in for a wine tasting and left with a big box full of wine! Many of us had never done a wine tasting and everyone left with smiles and new memories 😊 especially my partner's Oma who's been wanting to go to a winery for years! It was also extra nice of the young man to let us pick some apricots (Oma was very happy to have her pockets full of apricots to snack on in the car :D) Thanks Sagewood winery for the hospitality!

I recently had my wedding ceremony at Monte Creek Winery and it was wonderful! They've had some turnover in event coordinators so I worked with a few different people throughout the planning process but they were all very helpful, responsive, and flexible with figuring out all the little details. The wedding was beautiful and everyone loved the wine selections for the cocktail hour. The Living Land Sparkling Rosé in particular was a big hit!

Went to the wine club pick up party last night. Have to say the staff and catering company did an amazing job. Amazing food by Sage & Plate and very friendly and courteous staff. And of course amazing wine. Great job Monte Creek Winery. Another happy member.

Great fun course in the mountains, the drivable hole 16 is a hoot and the course is a great place to stop if you are in the area.

Beautiful setting, but the font nine is so narrow that the average 20 HCP player will lose a half dozen balls. No room to miss. Back nine is great, however. A few annoying things about the operation of the course. They make you fill out the longest waiver known to mankind before taking out a cart. Complete overkill. Also, they don't allow cooler bags in the course (they remind you of the rule repeatedly), but there is no water on the course. For a resort that gets very hot and dry in the summer, it's pretty irresponsible. For $130/ round, not really worth it. Stick to the Kamloops courses.
Pow S — Google review
After riding my bike from Kamloops all the way up to Sun Peaks for the much-hyped “Dirty Birdy on the 12th,” my expectations were sky-high, unlike my blood sugar, which plummeted fast due to the absolute absence of food trucks. Let me be clear: I didn’t bike 1,200 vertical meters in clipless shoes for a bottle of lukewarm water and a complimentary glow stick. I came for bass, grilled cheese, and bad decisions. What I got was one out of three. The music? Slapped. DJ Guac delivered a reasonably spicy set, and the 12th hole amphitheater. Yes, a tee box turned bassmusic dancefloor had surprisingly solid acoustics for a one night rave venue. But he never played OOOUUU (you call her Stephanie, I call her heffanie) by Young M.A (Cloonee Edit), which felt like a deliberate personal attack. Let’s talk logistics: Food: Nonexistent!!! I wasn’t the only one who noticed. I heard multiple ravers muttering about cheese curds like war veterans. The vibe shifted hard around 2 am when people realized they had to choose between starving, or cannibalism. I chose a third option: rage-coasted back to Kamloops for 7/11 taquitos like a man possessed. I'm still dreaming of the grilled cheese that never was. •Facilities: A full-on disaster. With bathrooms approximately 1.4 kilometers from the beat drop, the forests along the fairway became a free-for-all. I personally witnessed a guy urinate directly into the cup on the 12th green. Not even mad, it was technically a hole in one. • Sound system: Decent, but c’mon. If you're gonna throw a full send under the stars, give Guac a Funktion-One stack and let the hole breathe. The DJ deserved better. We all do. Despite the shortcomings, I’ll probably go again. But please, for the love of rave gods and hungry ravers running on nothing but dicsco biscuits, sort out the darn food trucks! Just because the venue itself is spectacular doesn’t mean you can skimp on the BASSics. **Huge shoutout to the onstaff kinesiologist who led a group mobility session just before midnight. That 25 minute dynamic warmup on the d-floor, with everyone groaning through hip openers in mesh tanks was a game changer for marathon raving. My lower back felt reborn.

Had such an amazing golf experience. Thank you to Lauren and her staff for their friendly atmosphere, great selection of merchandise and helpful information with the local attractions. The golf course is in great shape with lots of challenges for all levels of golfers. Definitely a must play.
Donna L — Google review
Operations and policies are very poorly run. You can't get a rain check when its raining and if you back out its a 100% cancelation fee. Considering 75% of their business comes up from Kamloops you would think they would be a little smarter when it comes to their policies and help you out when the weather can be unpredictable between Kamloops and Sun Peaks. Not to mention staff is pretty unfriendly and couldn't really care about your experience. Course is not worth $130 on a weekend. Pro tip, stay in Kamloops for golf. Any other course is more enjoyable.
Marc A — Google review
This course is beautiful! Did the play all day for $75. Cart included. Got in 45 holes before I called it quits. They were aerating the greens and they were still in good shape. Patches of snow were visible yet fairways were very dry. If you can hit your driver long and straight, you can go for a lot of the par 4's. Especially 16 which is 328 yards and drops 100 feet. Only complaint is #18 is way too easy for a Par 5. Played it 3 times, have a 10 handicap and went birdie, birdie, eagle.

We spent a few days at sun peaks skiing but this dog sledding was by far our favorite thing! Chris, the owner and his wife really take good care of these dogs. They know all 40+ of them by name and know all their personalities. Our tour guide Liam was great and my husband and I were very warm in the sled, even though it was snowing the whole time. The dogs are super friendly and love what they do. We will come back here for sure!!

We were visiting family in Sun Peaks who been dog sledding last year and loved it. We went on the hour long tour and can say it was the highlight of our holiday. Chris collected us from the village and drove us up to the base. All of the dogs are clearly loved and well cared for and enjoy their work pulling the sleds. We had time to meet and stroke our sled team before the tour and then afterwards time to stroke all the dogs and meet the amazing litter of puppies - just adorable!! Travelling through the forest was simply breathtaking and we stopped at the lake for photos. Our guides Tempe and Andrew were friendly, informative and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend this experience - thank you all so much for such a special and unforgettable experience!

Unforgettable Dog Sledding Adventure at Sun Peaks– A Must-Do Experience! From start to finish, this dog sledding experience was nothing short of magical! The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a team of energetic, well-cared-for huskies and knowledgeable guides who made us feel welcome and excited for the journey ahead. The sled ride itself was absolutely breathtaking—gliding through a pristine winter wonderland, surrounded by snow-covered trees and crisp mountain air, was like something out of a dream. The dogs were incredible, full of enthusiasm and strength, and it was heartwarming to see how much they love running. What truly stood out was the opportunity to interact with the dogs! Thanks so much for the experience!

We had amazing experience with Mountain Man Dog Sled Adventures. Taryn made a last minute booking very easy. Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable. Liam made our sled ride enjoyable. The scenery was magnificent. But it’s the dogs that steal the show. They clearly love being on the trail and there was plenty of time to interact with them after. Meeting the puppies was also a highlight. We would recommend the experience. Chris and his team clearly love the dogs and the experiences they create for guests.

Joe took us on a fun Jeep tour through the Sun Peaks mountain range, including to McGillivray Lake, and a couple other lake spots. It was beautiful scenery the whole time, and we saw some wildlife on the drive! Joe is very knowledgeable about the area and can answer all your questions. And we appreciate Taryn's help to book us specially before the official tourism season begins - thank you!

Our dog sled expedition was absolutely incredible! The dogs were well-trained and full of energy, and the guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. The stunning winter landscapes made the ride feel like something out of a dream. Everything was well-organized. It was an unforgettable experience, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure in the snow! 💯💯💯

We had the amazing experience of dog sledding with Chris and Tarin from Mountain Man Adventure Tours in Sun Peaks. The hotel provides a perfect blend of urban luxury and natural beauty, with stunning mountain views on one side and the vibrant downtown Vancouver on the other. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From check-in to check-out, every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly and professional. Special thanks to Felix, who handled a fire alarm situation calmly and efficiently. While everyone was understandably unsettled, Felix remained composed, guided guests with clear instructions, and reassured us throughout the incident. His professionalism truly stood out. The parking attendants and front desk staff were also very courteous and helpful, making the entire experience smooth and pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel not only for its great location and facilities but especially for the outstanding team working here. I’ll definitely be back!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Absolutely Outstanding – Honest Staff and Amazing Stay! I stayed one night at Sun Peak Grand Hotel last month, and I was honestly blown away by both the experience and the honesty of their team. The hotel itself was beautiful – clean, comfortable, and located in a peaceful, scenic spot. The room was cozy and had everything I needed for a relaxing night. But what truly impressed me was what happened after I checked out. The next day, I realized I had forgotten something extremely valuable – my gold bracelet – in the room. I immediately called the hotel, hoping for the best. They were kind and responsive, and to my huge relief, they checked the room and found it! The staff went above and beyond by safely sending it back to me without any delay. That level of honesty and integrity is truly rare these days, and I can’t thank them enough. From start to finish, my experience with Sun Peak Hotel was nothing short of amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone — not just for the comfortable stay and peaceful atmosphere, but also for the genuinely good-hearted people who work there. 👏💯 Thank you again, Sun Peaks Grand Hotel — you’ve earned a loyal guest for life!

From booking to arrival, our entire experience was absolutely exceptional. We arrived a few hours early and the hotel was kind enough to accommodate an early check-in, which set the tone for the rest of our stay. Not long after settling in, guest services reached out by text to make sure we were happy with our room. I mentioned that we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and without me even asking, they said they would bring something up for him. When we returned to our room, we were touched to find a handwritten card from the staff wishing him a happy birthday, along with two drinks and a dessert provided by the hotel. It was such a thoughtful gesture and truly made the celebration feel extra special. To top it off, we also got to enjoy the comedy show the hotel was hosting that evening on his birthday which made the whole experience even more memorable. Every step of our stay was handled with care, kindness, and attention to detail. We’re so grateful to all the staff who went above and beyond to make our time there such a special celebration. We will definitely be returning again. Thank you for making this birthday one to remember!

My husband and I just got married at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Nikki as our wedding manager, and she was truly incredible. From start to finish, Nikki went above and beyond to make sure our day was seamless. She was organized, responsive, and always one step ahead, handling every detail with professionalism and care. I truly can’t imagine the day going as perfectly as it did without her. If you’re considering getting married at Some Peaks, I couldn’t recommend it more. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and the food was phenomenal. We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! Thank you Nikki and Sun Peaks!

We had an absolutely magical experience at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel this weekend. From the moment I booked the stay, until the moment we checked out, the quality of service that we received was exceptional. The people we spoke with in the reservations department were marvellous. They went out of their way and above and beyond to make this stay extra special. The check in staff and guest services teams were incredible. We were given a room with a gorgeous view of the resort and a balcony. The room was beautiful, the bed was super comfortable and the room had a smart tv, espresso machine, full tub, bathrobes and all the other bits that you’d expect from a hotel resort. The hotel is so nice and the entire resort is just beautiful. We can’t wait to come back again in the future. Thanks for making our stay so extra special.

We had a great experience and time staying at Grand Hotel at Sun Peaks, rooms are big, clean, bed are comfy, pet friendly (dogs and cats), the pool is nice, just the AC was a bit loud. I think overall is great! I would stay here again. There were only one elevator running, one was in maintenance, but the other one wasn't working, during rush hour we waited 3 elevator to get the trolley down.

Chinook Cove Golf & RV Park is situated in the charming mountain town of Barriere, offering a picturesque setting for golf enthusiasts. Despite being a nine-hole course, it provides an extended play experience with two par-fives and lengthy par-fours. The scenic beauty and challenging level make it one of the top nine-hole courses in the Okanagan/Kamloops area. Just 50 minutes north of Kamloops, this course boasts well-maintained greens even in early May.
Not too far from Kamloops, Nice course 9 holes but can do twice for 18. Most holes are long so expect a good amount of time. Nice views and green grass.

When our booking at a different RV park fell through, we contacted Chinook Cove and they were able to accommodate us. SO happy they did! We now have a favourite spot for camping with full hookups. Everything is very clean (including the onsite showers/bathrooms) and the staff are wonderful. The golf course is a hidden gem! We will definitely be back!

We finally decided to stop and look at this place instead of driving by as we usually do. The young men in the clubhouse were super friendly and helpful. The campground turns out to be very quiet and large enough to accommodate pretty much any size of rv. Very strong wi-fi signal in campground. The golf course was beautifully manicured and was very fun to play while offering a challenge as well. We walked the course on this visit but next time we will use a power cart as there is a lot of elevation changes here which make the walk a little more of a workout.

What a terrific find! This gem of a golf course was in great shape, course is well laid out and was a terrific introduction to golf for a beginner while still challenging a lower handicapper. Tons of parking for a couple truck/trailers. Will definitely repeat.

Lovely little 9 hole golf course. The staff are friendly. Less capable golfers are sure to lose balls on several holes. Green fees are reasonable.

Beautiful place to walk ride your bike and bring your kids/dogs. Both the upper and lower trails give breathtaking views of the water and on the lower you can go out to the river mouth and fish or spend a day on the large beach. Have found some Geocache items there as well over the years.

Amazing location for families as well as individuals, nice trails and it’s good for biking and hiking, salmon run in FALL, shallow/ deep water perfect for FISH and RELEASE (before you pack the fishing rod make sure you have proper information about fishing there). Dogs should be in leashes and no quad bikes or ATVs, also please DO NOT touch any plant which looks strange because there are a lot of POISON IVYs. Plenty of benches to relax and good for seniors, you can also get a professional guide tour about the place, salmon’s life cycle and why this place for the final stage for salmon. Plenty of parking and staffs are really helpful and have plenty of knowledge about the place.

Bald eagles and sockeye salmon to photograph. Autumn leaves litter the trails. Perfect temperature. A few drops of rain. Well maintained trail. Many helpful historic and cultural signs. Easy, enjoyable walk with scenic vistas.
Cathy V — Google review
We went there 2 days ago. You can see some Salmon, but still not a lot yet due to the water temperature is still high as 15°c measureed the day before we were there. The best water temperature is between 8-10 degree. So hopefully as the weather gets colder there will be more Salmon to see. There are 2 kinds of Salmon in the river now. One is sockeye with red color. The other one is black and bigger Salmon, I forgot what is it called. The "Salute to the Sockeye" event is taking place now on the dominant year of the four-year cycle. It opens from 8:30am - 4:30 pm daily, and it will run till October 23rd this year. There are food trucks and displays. Lot going on in the parking lot.

Went on Oct 18, saw some Salmon, a lot of them are dead but still very impressive to see!You can see from the platform and if you turn left and keep going, you will reach a open beach that has a better and clearer view of Salmons, it’s very beautiful definitely recommended for this quiet nice park!
Catherine L — Google review
Amazing trails to hike, a few steeper areas but overall easy and beautiful to walk. The sound of the creek and waterfalls surround you while you hike and the historic signs are neat to read. Will be back for sure :)

Day use provincial park with an insane amount of parking. Three easy hike trails and going in Late August or September and you will probably see the sockeye salmon.

The closest you can get to seeing salmon spawning. There are some secret not so secret trials. Just follow the people off the beaten path. I only wished there was more to just salmon watching after driving an hour past Kamloops. Road trip!

Spent 5 days here while day hiking in W.G. extremely pleasant and friendly staff and park now includes some basic exercise equipment like badminton and volleyball for free. Campsites are private and very clean. While not advertised you can end to end hike this park along a mostly flat trail running north/south in parallel to the river and then looping around the west side of the park distance is about 8km and largely shaded. Park is full of thimble berries, Saskatoons, creeping dogwood, lilies etc.The park's staff went out of their way to put on a show for Canada Day - had everyone smiling.

Here in mid-June. Decent enough campground near Clearwater was fairly empty except for riverside spots. See photos, but these have varying degrees of obstructed river views. We stayed in #23. Potable water and vault toilets only but sanidump on-site. River runs very fast here, so swimming and kayaking not advised if you do not have someone to pick you up downriver. Spots are mostly treed, but privacy between is not great. Trains run across river but never heard any horns so not too bad. Path to walk along river but no "beach" One trail brings you up to Mt Robson overlook.
Katia J — Google review
Nice Provincial campground not too far from Clearwater with access to and beautiful views of North Thompson River. -bring repellent, the place is infested with mosquitoes. -sani-dump costs CAD 5, only takes coins and to make it worse the machine got jammed...not ideal. -toilets are absolutely disgusting. -nice playground for kids.
Roberto C — Google review
This park is located a few miles/km south of Clearwater, BC Canada on the river side of Hwy 5; the Yellowhead hwy. The park is nestled beside the river in a stand of mature trees offering much needed shade in the hot summer. When booking online, watch the campsite measurements; If you try to put a 31’ motorhome in a 31’ site your nose will be right on the pavement with your back end hanging over the back of the site. The sites are wide, well spaced and mostly level. There is no beach here, just rocky river shore. The park is located on the confluence of the North Thompson River which is green and the Clearwater River which is blue. You can see the two colors clearly from the riverside trails. No services at the campsites but good privacy. No boat launch, no showers, no flush toilets. There is a sani-dump with drinking water and a nice playground with wood forts, slides and modern play center.
Michelle N — Google review
On a long drive we stopped at the North Thompson River Provincial Park. While it was the middle of summer, hardly anyone was here. The picnic tables are located right next to the river. Other than the occasional train, there is nothingness NG but the sounds of the river peacefully lapping the shore and bird calls from the trees. An idyllic and peaceful spot for our picnic lunch stop.
David G — Google review
First time at this park and we loved it! Cute sites, nice trails to the river, very cool playground for the kids, super quiet at night time aside from the sound of trains going by (not honking, just traveling)
Mandira — Google review
Pros: off the highway for a great and quick one night stop over. Typical Provincial Park fare. No highway noise as it's set back in trees. Water and bins available. Great playground to let the kids have a run around. Really nice park operator however, she doesn't live on site. $23 per night as of Sept 2017. Cons: Railway is adjacent and runs all night. Tight narrow and some short sites available. Not many of the 40 + sites that would accommodate a larger rig. We are 56ft end to end and found only a couple that would work. Nice place for a picnic or a one night stop over.
Beth H — Google review
Stopped here on a hot day during a long drive. There was plenty of parking and a picnic area with a trail that meanders in the woods beside the river. There's a bunch of little beach areas off this trail, some being pretty short but steep and rocky. The river runs pretty fast but it's nice to get your feet wet and cool down.

Wells Gray Provincial Park is stunning. To see one of the waterfalls on a day trip would be a treat but to see so many was great. The power of the water is awesome. We did a hike from Baileys Chute and there quite a few bugs, e.g. small mosquitos so you need plenty of bug spray. Definitely recommend Wells Gray Park

Stopped at Wells Grey Provincial Park to stretch our legs on route to Jasper National Park - and it really is worth the stop! The visitor centre is an excellent place to start, with lots of information on the different things to see and do, we could easily plan our visit and decide what we had time to see. Plus there is a coffee van parked right outside… perfect! :) The park itself is beautiful, well kept and signposted and without the crowded of the National Parks. Highly recommend a visit here!

At the Wells Gray Park Visitor Information Center, I saw something, I have never seen before at any other park service, including National Parks. They had a tip jar on their counter. ....your job is to provide information and customer service. You get paid or volunteer to do so. The tipping mindset of places that aren't restaurants serving you food at a table is becoming too much and honestly ridiculous. The place does have merchandise, ice cream, and coffee to purchase.

A Truly Exceptional Experience – Wells Gray Info Centre Over the years, my wife and I have visited countless visitor centres, and more often than not, they’re exactly what you’d expect: basic information, a few brochures, and a staff member who’s likely answered the same handful of questions a thousand times before. But the Wells Gray Information Centre was something else entirely. What set it apart was Hailey. From the moment we walked in, she went above and beyond to help us create an unforgettable experience in Clearwater and the surrounding area. Her knowledge was incredible — not just the popular highlights, but also the hidden gems that only a true local would know. Every recommendation felt personal, thoughtful, and spot-on. She also pointed us toward Liquid Lifestyles, located just at the end of the parking lot — and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. In a time when genuine customer service can feel like a thing of the past, Hailey reminded us how impactful it is when someone truly cares about what they do. Her energy, enthusiasm, and insight turned what could’ve been a quick stop into one of the best parts of our vacation. Thank you for making our trip so special. If more people brought this level of care to their work, the world would be a better place.

The center offers facilities like washrooms, a gift shop, and an interpretative area. It also provides parking and picnic areas for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

This is the perfect place to start if you're visiting Wells Gray Provincial Park. You’ll get all the info you need, and the staff are super friendly and helpful with maps and tips on what to see and do. There’s also a cute little souvenir shop, clean washrooms, and even a food truck outside. This spot really helps make your trip easier and more fun.

Really nice visitor centre! The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was lots of info about the park. They had maps, souvenirs, and even a little shop. Beautiful spot, and there was a food stand just outside too!

Spahats Creek Falls

Mentioned on

Scenic spot
Nature & Parks
Nestled within the stunning Wells Gray Provincial Park, Spahats Creek Falls is a breathtaking sight that captivates visitors with its impressive 246-foot drop. This magnificent waterfall cascades through layers of ancient volcanic rock, showcasing the unique geological history shaped by glacial meltwaters over 11,000 years ago. While the total height reaches around 262 feet, onlookers can marvel at a dramatic 200-foot plunge from various vantage points along the canyon's edge.
Super easy walk to get to the canyon and viewing platform, the trail is a little icy ATM so be careful where you walk. The canyon is beautiful but the waterfall was a lot smaller than expected from photos! Still beautiful to see though! We went last weekend in the late morning and no one else was there!
Isabella B — Google review
Gorgeous waterfall. Very easy access to the viewing platform from the parking lot. We arrived around 11am on a late July weekend and there’s already some people there. There’s plenty of room on the viewing platform to fit all the visitors. Great view of the canyon.
LoveShelties C — Google review
Great little park for a quick stop while driving. Park seems to be handicapped accessible, with new benches and a clean trail going to the falls overlook.
Will W — Google review
DON’T miss the tiny brown sign to the right, look for the giant HOT DOG sign to the left to park and do a quick hike to view the falls. If you do happen to miss the parking lot for Sapp Falls, just carry on the road up to the next parking lot. The hike is approximately a kilometer and a half mostly down and can be challenging, but will definitely get your heart beating if you need that as a stop on the road. The fall are absolutely spectacular to see.

I am so incredibly glad we decided to pull over and stop at Spahats Creek Falls during our drive through Clearwater! What an absolute gem this place is. From the moment you arrive, you can tell it's well cared for. The trail leading to the falls is exceptionally well done and maintained, making for an easy and pleasant walk. The initial view as you approach the main area is nothing short of breathtaking – a deep, impressive canyon stretches out before you, hinting at the grandeur to come. But just a little further around, you reach the main viewing area, and that's where the magic truly happens. The falls themselves are absolutely stunning and incredibly interesting to behold. Spahats Creek Falls truly stands out because the water seems to burst directly out of a hidden cave in the side of the canyon wall! It's such a unique geological feature and immediately piqued my interest, making me wonder exactly where that water is coming from deep within the rock. Overall, this was a fantastic stop that exceeded all expectations. If you're driving through Clearwater, do yourself a favor and experience the beauty and mystery of Spahats Creek Falls!

The horseback ride lasted an hour and took us across meadows, through forests and along the river. There were two of us and we had different levels of experience. My horse was adapted to my riding abilities once again. Sarah also take care of our security. Sarah and Dawson accompanied us with two vivid dogs. Overall a really great experience. Warmest recommendation.

A truly wonderful trip. We went on a 3 hour evening ride with my wife and 2 sons accompanied by Sarah, Darcy, and Lucy. We explored the ranch which was a beautiful mixture of rolling hills, forest, and streams. At the end we stopped by the river for dinner made in an old 19th century wagon, an unforgettable experience. The team looked after us really well, with beautiful and healthy horses, and a strong focus on our safety. Highly recommended.
Michael H — Google review
I did a two-hour afternoon ride with Sarah, and it was a great experience! The team was incredibly accommodating and professional from start to finish, and everything felt well organized. The ride itself was really interesting... the landscape and habitat were beautiful, and Sarah shared lots of insight that made the experience even more enjoyable. The service was excellent, the horses were clearly well cared for, and the price was reasonable for the experience. Highly recommend!
April M — Google review
A great memory for two horse novices. Darcy our guide was authentic, charming, helpful and humorous. The ride exceeded our expectations in terms of what we did and where he took us. The trail ride was pretty with dramatic scenery and a mix of meadows, slopes, woods, even a bit by the river. Highly recommended !!! As a hint don’t arrive in shorts, you will be wearing riding boots and going through real country with trees, bushes etc so have sensible leg coverings

We messaged them one day in advance and I got a reply within 10 minutes that they will make the ride work! Super easy, well organized ride. Our boys didn’t have any experience and it was such a great experience for them. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone! Thank you so much for the beautiful experience

We had an amazing morning at the vavenby trail rides. Myself and my partner had never been on a horse before and thought we would give it a try. We was greeted by Sarah and Antonia from Germany with smiles and a warm welcome, the horses were already out and ready to go. So we kitted up and after a few simple instructions off we went. The horses were so easy to control and so well behaved, any worries I had soon went. The trails around the ranch were breath taking and after a long ride we ended up by the river for food and a chat. With there dog by our side the whole ride it was an amazing experience. One which I would gladly do again. Many thanks ed and Sarah for allowing us to have this time on your ranch.

An amazing falls. You can walk behind the falls! (At your own risk). Worth the short hike, although note the very steep, but short stairs and incline on the way back up from the bottom of the falls. Totally worth it.

Patrick H — Google review
Beautiful park to visit but you would think that with how popular Wells Grey park is that they would have more parking available for tourists. The parking lot was full so I had to park out on the shoulder with alot of other people and had to walk back about a blocks worth to the trail entrance from this parking lot. Not a huge deal cus I was there for a hike anyways but alot of people have small children and stuff and walking on the main road back to the parking lot isn't the safest. Also, not the parks fault, but tourists are disgusting and filthy and just throw their garbage all over instead of in the supplies garbage cans.

Waterfalls
Helmcken Falls, the fourth highest waterfall in Canada, is a majestic natural wonder located in Wells Gray Provincial Park, British Columbia. The falls drop 141 meters into a canyon and are fed by the Murtle River. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from a well-maintained viewing platform or take an 8km round trip hike along the Helmcken Falls Rim Trail for a closer look.
The area from the car park to the waterfalls has benches and open space. We had lunch and let our kittens run around for a bit! The platform has been expanded to a larger platform and has great views of the falls! The Cone at the bottom was still in great shape but has some brown bits - went around 2pm on a weekend and was not busy at all

Very accessible. They have parkinf for car & RV/ campers. Toilets re available everywhere. This waterfall is gorgeous & amazing. A must to visit & trekking there. U can trekking further to the end of the trail. Really nice view & less tourists.

Helmcken Falls offers a stunning view with its dramatic drop into a deep canyon. The viewpoint is just a short, flat walk from the parking lot, making it easily accessible for all visitors. There are restroom facilities near the lot, and the viewing platform gives clear, wide views of the falls and surrounding cliffs. On a good day, the mist rising from the base adds to the atmosphere. If you're anywhere near Clearwater, it’s definitely worth pulling over for.

Beautiful waterfall surrounded by rock formations formed due to volcano, been here multiple times during winter and during spring and the waterfall always surprises with its views. This place is an absolute hidden gem, and we are so grateful to have found it! We've stayed at the resort a handful of times now, and are consistently blown away by this magaical place! Most recently we celebrated our wedding here with 40 of our closest friends and family, and to say it was perfect would be an understatement. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding came together flawlessly. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the venue cannot be beat! It is one of the most peaceful and magical spots we've ever been to. The cabins are rustic luxury at its finest, the lake, the sandy beach, the beautiful forest, the wood burning fireplaces... I could go on and on. If you haven't been here, do yourself a favour and check it out!

We were there for 4 days for a wedding. We loved it. So peaceful with such gorgeous grounds. Our Log Chalet was comfortable with a lovely wood burning fireplace, comfortable bed, lots of wood, good water etc. The resort catered the wedding and the food was certainly the best we've had at a wedding. The staff was very warm, professional and kind. I can imagine how amazing this place would be in the winter with heli-skiing thrown in! Wow! If you want a destination wedding but don't want flight expenses too, this would be the place to go. We will go back.

Blue River Campground & RV Park

Campground
Nature & Parks
Blue River Campground & RV Park is a family-friendly destination offering 42 sites for RV and tent camping, including tipi tents and an outdoor community gazebo with TV. Wi-fi is available at most campsites, and rental equipment such as canoes, tents, bikes, and fishing gear can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. The site office provides daily recommendations for activities like hiking, biking, and fishing.
We camped here in August before going on our canoe trip to Murtle Lake. The couple who run the place are super friendly and service oriented. The campground is set up with a full kitchen which is great for those who are tenting. Showers are great, bathrooms are very clean, and full laundry services are available. They graciously allowed us to store our camper there while on our canoe trip and to use the showers upon our return before we headed out. Both very much appreciated. We’d definitely recommend this place and would use it again if in the area. There is a bit of traffic noise as it’s close to the highway but it didn’t disrupt our sleep.

We were pleasantly surprised by Blue River Campground & RV Park. Traveling as a family of six on our way to Vancouver, we felt incredibly welcomed. The owners are warm and friendly, the atmosphere is authentic and serene, and everything is well cared for. Before visiting, we had read a few negative reviews and honestly wondered what to expect. But our own experience couldn’t have been more different. Sometimes the most sincere and heartfelt places are overlooked or misunderstood, and Blue River Campground is a perfect example. If you’re looking for a serene, welcoming, and truly genuine place to relax and recharge during your trip, this is it. We left with gratitude and would happily return again. Raf (BE)

Quiet campground close to a lovely lake and beach area to take kiddos to. The campground had a bathroom with free showers for guests to use! Another really nice feature was the public kitchen and sink available to use! It was great for doing our dishes. Our toddler also LOVED the two sandpits filled with toys. Not the most privacy between sites, but we would definitely come again.

We stayed here for two nights and rented a canoe for 6 days to be on Murtle lake. The campground has large capacity for tents and RVs as well as several cabins that are reasonably priced. The free shower and the kitchen were very convenient. The owners are friendly and flexible whenever possible to meet our needs. It has playground for little kids to play in.

We had a travel trailer so the hot showers and laundry were a great bonus on our trip. The people that worked there were very friendly and helpful. She even switched my laundry from washer to dryer. I'd stay again. Great food 2 min walk away.

We absolutely love it here. They have full kitchen in a covered gazebo with pots, pans, plates, a coffee maker, fridge, stove. So I don't need to pack anything but my food! The service is amazing, they are kind and helpful. They really care about the campers and their camp! Real bathrooms and showers. Plus, really close to great hiking trails and a short drive several waterfall hiking trails
Khloe K — Google review
It is hard for people who have made this place what it is today to get rid of the negative ratings from years ago. It is clean, well cared for, water and electricity are properly installed, they have a fantastic shared kitchen space. There are mosquitoes, not much they can do about that, it is close to the highway and the occasional train makes itself heard when it passes, that was less of an issue than I I initially thought it would be. It was an unplanned stop for us, but I would have no issues making it a planned one next time we are out this way. The people running the campground are super friendly and helpful.
Marja B — Google review
Some friends and I stayed at Blue River Campground on our way to Jasper from Oregon. We were very happy with our accommodations in 2 of the cabins, and were greeted by very friendly hosts upon arrival. Amenities were great, hard to beat a hot shower when you're camping. Location was ok, wish there was more within walking distance, but otherwise a great place, especially if you're just passing through. Would stay here again.

Nestled down a winding road from the notable Monte Creek, Harper's Trail Estate Winery is a hidden gem that showcases the evolving potential of British Columbia’s wine scene. This charming winery, with its roots as a working ranch, offers visitors an inviting Western ambiance and stunning views from its outdoor seating area. The friendly staff are always eager to share their knowledge about the wines, which include delightful whites and an exceptional 2018 Rosé.
First visit to this winery, the staff were very friendly and I really enjoyed the wine flight and sangria. The weather was amazing and we happened to visit during a craft market - Bonus

Though a bit down a bumpy road from Kamloops, the trip is worth it. With roots as a working ranch, the Western theme fits right in. The whites, pinot noir were a delight and loved the 2018 Rose. Nice outdoor seating with great views. Bring a picnic in season.
John C — Google review
Down the road from the impressive and imposing Monte Creek is another winery proving that Climate Change is greatly expanding the potential of British Columbia to sow grapes. This is Harper’s Trail, and I must first thank them for even being open on a chilly March afternoon. Another winery whose name escapes me (obviously) had yet to open for the season. Unlike Monte, Harper’s Trail was unknown to me. I had not seen or even heard of them before. I appreciate their use of traditional grape varietals, proving their sustainability at this latitude. And given the human race has ignorantly walked past the tipping point to stop global warming, this sustainability will be easier in a region growing each year. Yes, hundreds of millions of lives are in danger across the world given our irresponsibility towards manmade climate change, but at least we’ll be able to grow grapes in Alaska eventually. The winery itself is unpretentious and effective, a pastoral country theme with exposed natural wood all around. The view from outside is almost ominous, with distant mountains and massive empty blank fields. I enjoyed the wine as well, especially given they’re reasonably priced. There’s even a fantastic picnic area I wish we could have taken advantage of. Not only that, but my girlfriend got her bead (long story, she’s obsessed). Harper’s Trail is cozy, comfortable, and welcoming, and I recommend visiting Harper’s Trail after Monte, only because Monte can be a little overwhelming
