Hy-Hope Farm

Farms
Hy-Hope Farm and Golf Course is a hidden gem! The course offers incredible value for money with a beautiful layout that’s both scenic and enjoyable to play. The greens were in great shape and made for a smooth round. After golf, the experience doesn’t end—there’s a charming little market on-site with a fantastic selection of fresh pastries, fruits, and vegetables. There’s also a cozy spot to grab some food, making it the perfect place to unwind post-game. Highly recommend for both golf and a great local vibe!
Moin K — Google review
The farm is full of amazing fresh produce and local baked goods. We also picked up jerky and my son said it was the best he's had! It looked good, tasted good and smelled good. Also, don't skip the cold pressed strawberry juice!!!
Nicole B — Google review
Hy-Hope Farm is a very cozy and welcoming place that gives you a real feel of nature. If I'm not mistaken, it's a family-run business, which adds a warm and personal touch to the experience. The café is lovely, offering delicious cookies, fresh bread, and great coffee. They also have a nice selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. It’s the kind of spot where you can slow down, enjoy the surroundings, and support a local farm. Highly recommended!

Another one of my family’s annual summer bucket list stops - Hy-Hope Farm! There’s something about this place that hits differently every time. We come back year after year. The kids know exactly what they’re doing the moment we park. They head straight for the open space near the orchards to run wild; my husband and I follow the smell of warm pie drifting from the market. What I love most is how beautifully unpolished everything is. There’s an effortless charm to it all. The market is small but filled with the kind of produce that practically glows. Crates of peaches, heirloom tomatoes, homemade jams lined up beside buttery baked goods. The pie scent alone is enough to make you slow down and just stand there for a moment, breathing it in. Design-wise, it’s simple but thoughtful. Rustic wood tables, faded painted signage, flowers in jars that look like they were just picked from the fields. The concession stand is always a hit. We’ll grab something fresh and hot, find a spot at one of the picnic tables, and settle in while the band plays. I always feel this deep sense of ease here. I’ve been meaning to come back in the fall for apple picking. I can only imagine how stunning the farm must be with the leaves turning!
Candace L — Google review
Nice farm and golf course. Beautiful lawn and siting area to enjoy some food. Pretty flowers and fresh produce for sale.
Wendy — Google review
The smell of smoke, a variety of pickles, organic garlic, and unpasteurized honey created an inviting atmosphere. The display of good-looking apples added a fresh touch, and although the apple pie left me somewhat unsatisfied. My next visit is already planned to explore their bread and cakes, as I'm sure they will be equally delightful. The only observation I'd like to share is about Sunday mornings. It seemed like the store or the staff might not be too keen on being open during that time. Considering this, either not opening on Sundays or perhaps leaving the responsibility to younger staff could be a win-win.Noticed that the older staff members seemed a bit impatient and not friendly.
Yelda A — Google review
So as for the golf. It’s a beautiful short course. A great place for beginners and avid golfers. Some challenging holes that can test anyone. Small greens so accuracy is key to a low scoring round. Great condition course from tee box’s to green. Then the food at the cafe is great. Fresh produce and baked goods at reasonable prices! You must try the raspberry coconut squares they are heavenly! Also the fresh juices they make will serve you well pre or post round! I highly recommend playing this course or even just visiting the farm shop. Support your local Canadian run and owned businesses!!!

Our "go to place" year round for everything grown in the ground. Also our fridge is always stocked with brown free range eggs. Never go back to supermarket eggs. You can taste the difference.

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the heart of Markham, Ontario, the Markham Museum spans an impressive 25 acres and serves as a captivating open-air museum that showcases the rich tapestry of local history. Established in 1971, this historical gem features nearly 30 meticulously restored buildings that transport visitors back to earlier centuries. Among its treasures are a charming general store, a quaint church, an old schoolhouse, and even a historic train station.
We had our son’s 4th birthday party at Markham Museum and can’t say enough good things. The staff was helpful from start to finish, and the kids loved the various activities they led. The staff were very engaging and caring throughout. The Everyday Superheroes exhibit was a lot of fun, very interactive, and the kids really enjoyed it. We scheduled a tour before finalizing our booking, and even during the tour, we were impressed by how attentive the staff were. We look forward to our next visit.
Peter P — Google review
I've been coming here every year for the past few years for an annual community picnic with over a thousand guests. The grounds and facilities are spacious and always clean. The staff do a good job of maintaining the cleanliness and emptying the garbage bins frequently.

I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful guided tour that led us through the rich historical site in Markham. It was truly an inspiring and educational experience, allowing us to connect with the city’s vibrant past and heritage. The preservation of key landmarks like the train station, chapel, blacksmith shop, and variety hall within the museum is not only impressive but deeply meaningful. These authentic settings bring history to life and offer visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and understand the roots of the community. I would like to kindly encourage the City to continue investing in the protection and promotion of these historic sites. Increasing funding and resources for heritage conservation will ensure that future generations can enjoy and learn from these treasures. Additionally, enhancing public education—perhaps through school programs, interactive exhibits, and more frequent guided tours—would be a wonderful way to raise awareness and appreciation for Markham's cultural legacy. Thank you again for your dedication to preserving history. Your efforts make Markham not just a city of the future, but also a proud guardian of the past.

Markham Museum and its staff, ESPECIALLY Sarah C, Scott, and Robert, helped to make our baby shower truly memorable! We worked with Sarah in booking our venue, and in fine-tuning the details. Sarah is really kind, accommodating, and gave off such positive energy during our meetings/email exchanges! She is really easy to work with :). We picked the transportation hall as it suited our guest count needs, they had a large kitchen, and they provided beautiful chairs and tables!!! There is also ample parking near the hall. Scott and Robert assisted us the day off and we are truly grateful for their help! They were both so kind and went above and beyond whenever we asked for any assistance. Would highly recommend booking your next event with Markham Museum! We want to make up and host another event JUST to book it with them again lol.

Good place to show case history of Markham. I really liked the outdoor buildings, they have special feel to them that takes you back to 1800s and early 1900s Theres a tour at 12 pm and 3 pm for outdoor buildings on weekend. While weekdays tour time is 2 pm usually The main building exhibits keep on changing during year. So better check website before going. All in all nice place to spend weekend if you want to learn about how people used to live in Markham Free parking. Entry fee in museum is not huge so well worth it.
Abdul A — Google review
There is also an outdoor area with guided tour at 2pm, where there are many old houses. Visitors can immerse themselves with the early lifestyles of the pioneers of Markham. After all, the admission of the museum is only $7 which is not expensive when compared with other museums in Toronto. This museum is highly recommended.
Narendra P — Google review
We went to AppleFest at Markham Museum today with the family and really enjoyed it. The whole place had a great fall atmosphere with fresh apple cider, food vendors, and lots of local products to try. The live demonstrations, like blacksmithing and cider making, were interesting and added to the experience. My kids had a blast with the rides, games, and hands-on activities around the museum grounds. It was crowded at times but well organized, and staff and volunteers kept things moving smoothly. Parking was busy but manageable. Overall, AppleFest is a fun and family-friendly event that’s worth making an annual tradition.
Cheuk C — Google review
It is a bit like the Shanghai Minhang District Museum where you used to live, but the indoor pavilion part is much smaller in scale and the collection is mostly household items. But the special thing is that there are many old houses placed in the park, just like the Black Creek Village. There is a car head somewhat like Snowpiercer. It is a good place to take wedding photos.

The Village at Black Creek is a captivating 1800s reenactment village in Toronto, offering an immersive experience of the region's history. With over 40 historic buildings, 70 rare animals, and 10 heritage gardens, visitors can explore the authentic setting of the 1860s. The village features costumed guides who showcase trades and crafts from that era, along with entertaining programs suitable for all ages.
I recently had the opportunity to visit The Village at Black Creek, and it was a truly memorable experience that blends history, charm, and community spirit. The staff were knowledgeable and incredibly friendly—always eager to answer questions and share stories that brought the village to life. One of the unexpected highlights? The freshly baked cookies and white bread—absolutely 10/10! Delicious and authentic, they added a warm, homey touch to the visit. It’s a great spot for families, history lovers, or anyone looking to experience a bit of the past in an engaging and welcoming setting.

Amazing experience overall. Place is huge and well maintained. Staff are friendly and wearing traditional clothing dated back to 1800-1900 timeline. They have events to add cultural value and we were lucky enough to experience Spanish dance and Drumming performance. There is paved and unpaved parking however it has a fixed fee (approx 9$) We will surely visit this wonderful historical village again when whether settles a bit. Keep minimum two hours to enjoy every attraction. Presto card holders get a small discount.

I’ve always loved places that preserve history and make you feel connected to the past. Black Creek Village is one of those spots that does it beautifully. The staff, dressed in period costumes, really add to the authentic atmosphere. They’re patient, friendly, and genuinely eager to share their knowledge about the village’s history and daily life in the old days. It’s a perfect place for a one day visit, relaxing, and full of charm. If you enjoy historical sites and a glimpse into the past, I definitely recommend it.

The Village at Black Creek is a wonderful step back in time! The historic buildings, costumed interpreters, and hands-on activities make it feel like you’re truly experiencing 19th-century village life. Every corner has something interesting — from the working blacksmith shop and print shop to the schoolhouse and general store. We enjoyed strolling through the peaceful grounds, chatting with the interpreters who shared fascinating stories, and seeing the heritage gardens in bloom. The attention to detail in both the buildings and the demonstrations is outstanding. It’s educational, fun, and beautifully maintained — a perfect outing for families, history lovers, or anyone looking for a unique day trip.

Awesome place for having a fun day with family. A old but live village from 200 years ago right in the heart of Toronto. I was there twice and both times I enjoyed and learned a lot. People who worked there (I don’t know if they are stuff or volunteers) are nice, kind and knowledgeable. Give it a try and make lots of great memories.

I recently visited The Village at Black Creek and had such a great experience! The place is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and offers a perfect blend of community and comfort. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and everything from the landscaping to the amenities shows how much care goes into keeping the place in great shape. It truly feels like a warm and inviting community highly recommend checking it out!

This is a historical place worth seeing. I was surprised by the location . I’ve passed this street by car so many times and never knew about it! You’ll feel like you’ve gone back to the 1800s and get to experience life from those days for a couple of hours. The bakery was great. I got fresh bread made in the traditional way. Be prepared for a long walk!
Sahar S — Google review
This place is amazing great place to take the kids. There are many opportunities for learning about historical times. I really enjoyed this visit. I used a map to guide me on my visit, but you can also get guided visits. My group enjoyed the petting of the goats 😆 and watching the chickens. They also enjoyed the school house activities writing on slates. Memories.....back in the days 😆 I encourage you to take a visit. Oh, show your ticket at the reception and you get a discount.

This is a nice little park best during the Christmas season. They have a skating rink with equipment rentals. Its a bit difficult to find the parking. The best option is to park at the City Hall public parking where the first hour is free. Great for Christmas photos

Skate rentals and sharpening is also available. Rentals cost $15 for 2 hours and $10 for kids aged 12 and under, helmets are also available to rent at $5. The rink is open daily from 5pm-10pm and 10am-10pm on Saturday and Sunday. Underground parking is available in City Hall. Overall a nice option for a winter outdoor family activity.

Gage Park in Brampton is an amazing place. Beautiful park with lots of trees and greenery. Personally, I like it during the snowtime. During the winter, the park is illuminated with lights all over, and an absolute delight and treat to the eyes and mind. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience in the freezing cold, worth it, unforgettable and just loved it. Not to miss this illuminated experience during the next winter.
Thonta P — Google review
I was staying near Gage Park. I used to come here almost every week. I have seen this park in every season. Now I'm shifted to another place and i miss this park very much. It was such a cute park with cherry blossom tree, Farmer's market, fall colors, tree lightening ceremony, skating rink, beautiful decoration, and jamming sessions by some freelance musicians on weekends. I miss everything. I wish to come here someday to enjoy the charm of this park.
Archana W — Google review
As everyone is visiting places to get the wonderful view of cherry blossoms, me and my friend decided to go to Gage Park as it is in the Downtown hence, very accessible by bus. Although front side of the park was temporarily fenced due to renovation probably, we still got beautiful sight of the white cherry blossoms. We soaked ourselves in the sunlight and the fresh air and clicked tons of nice pictures. The bungalow is a great place to get clicked with. Overall, it was worth of spending time! Made our day!

The Rose Brampton, also known as the Rose Theatre, is a modern and spacious auditorium located in downtown Brampton, Ontario. This cultural hub offers a diverse range of performances including theater, dance, comedy, and concerts. The venue is renowned for its excellent acoustics and intimate setting, providing an ideal space for enjoying live entertainment. With its elegant design and impressive architecture, The Rose Brampton attracts both locals and tourists alike to experience world-class performances in a vibrant arts scene.
An intimate venue! The Rose Theatre in Brampton is literally a 5 minute walk from the Brampton Go Train/Go Bus Terminal. If you are driving, there's plenty of free sheltered underground parking directly below the theatre. The theatre (which holds about 1000 people including balcony seating) one might consider to be on the small side, BUT the seating is roomy and comfortable. The sound and lighting was good, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff are all friendly, and the washrooms are clean, modern and have a decent handling capacity for people during show time intermissions. I really can't think of anything not to like about this venue. The 2 pictures I took are from our balcony seats. If you're going, you'll enjoy your night.

Beautiful venue for music lovers in Brampton downtown. Specially outdoor patio music. Their music hall is amazing with a capacity of around 800 people. Beautiful sound system and very cooperative and lovely staff.
Manu M — Google review
The Rose Brampton is so beautiful! The bathrooms are so pretty! Us girls spend a lot of time washing our hands and chatting in them 😜 Inside the theater was beautiful as well! I had a great time! Thanks Rose!
Elizabeth S — Google review
Very nice seating. Parking was a breeze. The show was incredible. The audio techs did their best but there was a few misses, didn't ruin the show. Drink holders at the seat will not hold cans so be careful! Cash tips only at the bar so bring some change. Venue washrooms were immaculate, cleaned before and after intermission. Staff was pleasant and very helpful and patient guiding people to seats.
Rob M — Google review
There is plenty of free parking underneath the theatre. The seats are comfortable, and the acoustics are excellent. We saw a great AC/DC tribute band this visit, and the previous time we saw the Queen musical, we will rock you
Nigel B — Google review
Awesome venue, mostly nice people. The reason why I gave the venue 2 stars, is literally because of staff lack of knowledge. When a friend of mine and myself approached the bar before entering the auditorium, we asked for a drink. I asked for vodka and my friend asked for rye, a particular brand, the young lady said "we have crown royal" I said crown royal is whiskey, not rye, she smiled turned to her boss and told her boss we had too much to drink, I was taken aback, because we literally had just come off the red carpet where I was speaking to an interviewer, my point is the staff should be better trained, and not get in their feelings when called out, I noticed later that she had the least amount of people ordering drinks from her, just please have properly trained staff to work the bar
Charm1001 — Google review
Great sound system, amazing staff, technical staff were awesome at what they do. Great vibes of the theatre itself! Very well organized events here. Seat selection is tricky. Although hey have stage and seating map, it turned out way too off of the actual seat selections we had. Recommended place to attend events.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto is an exciting indoor attraction nestled within the Vaughan Mills shopping complex, just a stone's throw from the city. This vibrant destination is a paradise for LEGO lovers of all ages, featuring ten thrilling rides and attractions that promise endless fun. One of its highlights is the MINILAND exhibit, where visitors can marvel at intricate replicas of Toronto’s iconic landmarks crafted entirely from LEGO bricks.
Been there a few times as we have an annual pass. Kids love it. Movie time is great and you can watch four different ones. The rides are fun and Lego building class is also good. We usually spend around 2.5 to 4 hours here depending upon if kids want to stay longer. The food, though limited options is fine.
Mateen K — Google review
What a joyful experience! Legoland was full of color, creativity, and smiles at every turn. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the atmosphere was perfect for both kids and adults to feel like little adventurers again. Everything from the rides to the Lego builds was so well thought out. We made some beautiful memories and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for families looking to spend a magical day together!

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre has been on our to-do list for a while now, and we finally visited it! We were not disappointed. First, we were surprised by how big it was, considering it’s part of the mall. Second, there were so many activities to choose from. The admission includes a laser shooting ride, a jump around ride, four rotating 4D short films, a large play structure with slides, and many Lego stations. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Dave C — Google review
Our visit to LEGOLAND was absolutely fantastic! It’s a great place for kids and families to enjoy together. From the moment you enter, you're surrounded by vibrant colors, incredible LEGO creations, and a fun, creative atmosphere. The rides, building zones, and themed areas were all well-designed and super engaging for the kids. There’s something for everyone — from exciting rides to hands-on building stations and 4D movies. It’s not just entertaining but also sparks creativity and imagination, making it a perfect day out for LEGO fans of all ages. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience feel smooth and enjoyable. Our kids are already asking when we can go back! It’s definitely worth the visit, especially if your child is into LEGO. The only downside is that the price is a bit high for a single visit, particularly for bigger families. It would be great if there were more affordable ticket options or passes. That said, the memories made there are priceless. If you’re considering going to LEGOLAND, we highly recommend it — it’s fun, creative, and perfect for a family day out. We’ll definitely be back!

I highly recommend visiting LegoLand in Canada. It takes around 3-4 hours, but it’s worth it. You can eat there, but I saw people bringing their own lunch boxes. They also offer Starbucks. I recommend buying your tickets in advance, as you can get one adult ticket and get one child free. We participated in the workshop, don’t miss it! Good luck! - we went a PA Day (Friday)
Carolina B — Google review
The ONLY reason NO LEGO store shall EVER get a full 5 star review from me... $400 for the Zelda set?!? Are you out of your minds!?! Do you hate children THAT much, Lego??? ...otherwise, nice place, nicer people. And hey, adults can go to the theme park side on Halloween this year if they choose, so... you do you.
Shaggy S — Google review
We went on the Adult night and had a lot of fun. The murder mystery, silent auction and the fact you served beer was great! I even climbed throuh the indoor play centre 🤣. Movies, V.R. and lots and lots of lego to play around with. We had a really fun night!

A Great Day Out at Vaughan Mills I recently visited Vaughan Mills, and it was an experience worth sharing! This shopping center offers an impressive array of stores, catering to everything from fashion and beauty to electronics and lifestyle. Whether you're after high-end brands or great deals at outlet stores, there's something for everyone. What really stood out was the variety of dining options from quick bites to full meals, there’s no shortage of places to refuel between shopping. I also appreciated the spacious layout, which made navigating through the mall easy and enjoyable, even during busy hours. Beyond shopping and food, Vaughan Mills has entertainment and family-friendly attractions, making it more than just a retail destination. It’s truly a one-stop spot for a full day of shopping, eating, and exploring. If you're in the area and looking for a well-rounded shopping experience, Vaughan Mills is definitely worth a visit!
Obinna D — Google review
Large indoor outlet mall that is quite unique in design in comparison to other malls in the Toronto area. Some outlet stores will offer better discounts and clearance products in comparison to the same stores in other malls. It can be tough to find parking at busy times. They only have 4 J1772 chargers which is not sufficient for a mall of this size. Tesla owners also use them instead of superchargers - go figure.
Allan C — Google review
Very good place to shope branded products at reduced prices. Well ranges of various products are there. I would say very best place with your family and spent whole day. A big food court is there to provide different types of cuisine with comfortable seating spaces.
Raja K — Google review
This outlet mall is one of the best shopping destinations around. It’s a huge indoor mall with a wide variety of stores, from basic everyday brands to luxury names, offering something for everyone. The collections are updated and the outlet prices are definitely worth it, making shopping here a great value. Since it’s fully indoors, we can visit any time of the year without worrying about the weather, which is very convenient. We make it a point to visit at least once a month and always enjoy the experience. A must-visit mall for outlet shoppers!

Probably one of Not the biggest mall if ever been to. It’s so huge. But you can find everything there. We spend almost 5 hours in there and easily took 20000 steps. Good selection of everything. There could be more toilettes though. I don’t wanna walk 10min inside for a pee. Anyway, nice experience

Canada's Wonderland

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Canada's Wonderland is Canada's largest theme park, spanning 134 hectares and offering over 200 attractions, rides, restaurants, and shops. The park features popular attractions like Planet Snoopy for the little ones, as well as thrilling rides such as Windseeker and Skyhawk. With 17 roller coasters including The Bat with its stomach-churning corkscrews and loops, there's something for everyone.
Countless thrill rides to choose from, all fantastic. A fast pass ticket is highly recommended if you are exclusively looking to ride everything. Otherwise, plenty of food and good vibes await. Only downside was the lack of drinking fountains around the park. Could only reliably find some at the front entrance.

I have been going for a couple of years whether it be with family or friends and I always have a great time. This year was the first time I went in the fall — for Halloween haunt and let me tell you the vibes, decoration were way better. (Also fewer line ups) this year I went to the conjuring limited edition maze and I loved how interactive and fun it was. They did a great job. Do recommend

Cons: Overpriced and overrated. Parking is expensive, and food options inside are mostly unhealthy and way too costly for what you get. The overall experience doesn’t match the high ticket and food prices. Definitely not worth it for what’s offered; 1 out of 5. Pros: I visited Canada’s Wonderland this past summer and spent a full day enjoying both the rides and the water park. It was a hot day, so I started with Splash Works; the water area was lively but not overwhelming. There are several pools and slides for every age, and it’s a great place to cool off. The wave pool was a highlight, and there were plenty of shaded spots and chairs to relax between rides. After the water park, I explored the rest of the park and went on a few of the main roller coasters. The sight of the massive tracks and loops from a distance still makes the park feel impressive every time you visit. The atmosphere is energetic but family-friendly; with lots of music, food stands, and people having fun. I ended the day near the main fountain and mountain area, which looks especially beautiful in the sunlight. The water and landscaping give it a resort feel, and it’s a perfect spot to take photos before leaving. Overall, it was a great summer day; well organized, clean, and full of energy. If you plan ahead and arrive early, you can easily make the most of both the water park and the rides.

My husband and I went for the first time during Halloween Haunt on Halloween because we purchased a gold pass from a different amusement park. We got to try a Beaver Tail - Avalanche flavor and it was delicious! The level of detail that went into designing the Halloween Haunt was impressive. The decorations were awesome, there was specially named and unique food options, and there were different themed areas with actors dressed up in scary costumes. One area there were all zombies and another had clowns. The actors were clearly having a good time scaring people and it was sometimes entertaining to just watch them scare other parkgoers. It was also possible to bypass these areas if you didn't want to get scared. There was a freak show, a fire spinning show, and music performances throughout the night. We didn't opt to buy the extra pass to enter the haunted mazes - mainly because I'm not a fan. I rode a few coasters because there was no wait, but it was quite chilly. It was still exhilarating and a lot of fun. We will definitely be back when it is a bit warmer.

This place is fun, but a bit scary with the height of the rides. It is not for the doubtful patrons. Rides are going upside down over your head as you walk around in the park. Every one should try going to wonderland at least once in their lives. You don't have to buy a season pass, just a day pass will do the trick. However, if you are a lover of these Rides buy a seasonal pass. You can also add meal pass to the mix. It will work out very well the kids love to go to this amusement park 😀 there is everything for everyone from babies to adults. Sometimes you will be entertained with fireworks. Check it out! 🔥

Canada's Wonderland is probably one of the most famous Staples in Ontario to go visit, it's lots of fun. Great place to go spend time with the family. I have memories from this place from when I was a kid and now I bring my own kids, Roller coasters are always my favorite and they have some of the best roller coasters I've ever been on. While this place does get very busy and crowded I have yet to found a good day to go where it's not very crowded Prices are very expensive for tickets and if you don't want to wait in line then you have to pay an enormous amount of money in my book for speed passes and then if you want to ride the big roller coasters for the speed pass you have to pay even more money for on VIP speedpass, The water park has lines just as long as the rides. It is very crowded and busy there as well in the summer, Halloween haunt was lots of fun when I was a kid but after covid everything's changed and from what I hear now you have to pay and buy a special pass just to go into all the haunted houses now because the haunted houses were the favorite part of this event in my book. Although riding a roller coaster in the dark is pretty fun as well
Brian S — Google review
Canada’s Wonderland is fun for kids, but the experience feels more like a money trap than a family park. The atmosphere is designed to highlight thrills and fun, but underneath it’s clear the priority is profit, not guests. Parking is $39.99, food and drinks are overpriced, and water access is limited to old fountains or dirty sinks. You can’t bring in much from outside, yet security checks are inconsistent—sometimes too strict, sometimes too lax, raising safety concerns. Customer service is lacking; staff rarely smiled or welcomed guests. Ride wait times stretch 1–2 hours unless you pay $179.99 per person for Fast Lane Plus, which doesn’t even include all rides despite the marketing. My kids had a great time, but they weren’t the ones paying. For what I spent in one day, I could have taken a family trip down south. The park succeeds at creating a “fun” image, but in reality, it’s a polished price-gouge. If you want true value and enjoyment, a small-town festival will give you more smiles, less stress, and far better bang for your buck.
Go T — Google review
We are absolutely thrilled with Wonderland! 🌟 This park is a true wonder for the whole family. We visited it with our kids about 15 times this year, and each visit was a unique adventure. The park is incredibly well-designed, with bright and colorful rides that bring so much joy and excitement to both children and adults. We especially loved the extreme roller coasters, which are packed with adrenaline, as well as the calmer, fun carousels perfect for the little ones. Every corner of the park is filled with a magical atmosphere — from the well-kept green pathways to the vibrant decorations and themed areas. Wonderland is a place where you can fully immerse yourself in magic, joy, and fun. There’s something for everyone here: whether it’s thrilling rides, beautiful photo spots, or just enjoying quality time together as a family. We will definitely keep coming back again and again! 🎢🎡✨

There is also a nice little playground in the park that your kids will enjoy. Additionally, there are a few spots where you can enjoy a picnic in the park.

I love this park. You have it all. It has a beautiful trail along Holland River. Park is specious and you can picnic. It’s great for kids. Great for walking pets. It’s great to spend time with friends and family there. It’s also beside Main Street in Newmarket so you have access to all amazing coffee shops, restaurants and stores. There always some kind of an event happening there during summer. This park has it all. Picnic area, trails, playground, river, restaurants, coffee shops and more

2022 October 4★ Fairly lake park runs along the river and as such, has multiple bridge crossings. The park is part of the Tom Taylor Trail which runs about 7 or 8 kilometres North to South. Within the park, you'll come across gazebos, benches and Kilometre Trail Markers. There's markers use natural elements, art is inspired by the environment and the native Ojibwe ancestors. 10 trail markers in total will enhance your experience and help track your journey along our trail system. Free Parking within the park or along the side streets. A playground nearby.

It was early December and it was overcast. It was not busy on a weekday Friday. Went along the east side of the lake, continued after the first bridge, to the boardwalk. Crossed the second bridge, then came back from the west side of the lake. The loop was pretty short and easy.

Also known as Wesley Brooks Conservation Area is a great place for everyone. However, need to be careful of the cyclists as a lot of them are just going way too fast even though the paths are so supposed to be shared with everyone. Yet I had to pull my kids over many times because they don't even slow down or stop even for little kids. Some don't even give warnings that they are coming. Still the kids enjoyed the boardwalk and the playground.

A big lake park with so much greenery and biking space. You get to see Canada goose and their poop ( be careful not to stamp on) all around you. Fortunately we saw the Beaver hanging around the pool that connects the two sides of the park. Play zone is quite beautiful.

Sights & Landmarks
Cheltenham Badlands, located just northwest of Brampton in Caledon, Ontario, is a unique natural attraction with a distinctive iron-rich landscape. Formed over 450 million years ago at the base of an ancient sea, this site features striking red gullies created by the erosion of Queenston shale. Due to early farming practices causing topsoil erosion in the early 1900s, these badlands were exposed and have since become an iconic destination.
The Cheltenham Badlands are such a unique and beautiful place to visit! The rolling red hills and landscapes look like something from another world, it’s not very vast but good place to understand nature, click cool pictures. The boardwalk makes it easy to enjoy the view while protecting the land, and the walking trails around are peaceful and relaxing. Parking is organized, and it’s a nice spot for a short hike, photos, or just taking in nature’s beauty. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! Please follow the rules to preserve the rare site. Booking is recommended in advance. Have your vehicle number registered if you need to park so it’s super easy.

A hidden gem of wild beauty! Chatlehem Badlands is absolutely breathtaking — a surreal landscape that feels like stepping onto another planet. The colorful rock formations, sculpted by wind and time, glow beautifully at sunrise and sunset. It’s a photographer’s dream and a hiker’s paradise, with plenty of spots to explore and reflect in quiet solitude. The trails are well-marked, and even though the terrain looks rugged, it’s surprisingly accessible for most visitors. Bring plenty of water, good shoes, and your sense of wonder — this place will reward you tenfold. If you’re looking for something unique, peaceful, and truly awe-inspiring, the Chatlehem Badlands are a must-see! 🌄
Dalvinder G — Google review
Nice Evening Spot Decent experience overall. The boardwalk view area is short (about 60m) and the trail from parking is around 700m. We went on a sunny day, so the red color wasn’t too visible, but it looked great after sunset. Best time to visit would be in fall on a slightly cloudy day. Walking on the badlands isn’t allowed. Parking reservation is mandatory, but it’s free for cyclists and pedestrians. If you’re not much into photography, the whole visit takes about 45–50 minutes unless you explore the Bruce Trail. A good place to spend a calm 1–2 hours in the evening.

The Cheltenham Badlands is a stunning natural wonder with its striking red rolling hills and unique landscape. The boardwalk makes it easy to explore while protecting the fragile terrain. It’s a great spot for photography, especially during sunrise or sunset when the colors are most vibrant. The area is well-maintained with clear signage and nearby parking. Overall, it’s a fascinating and peaceful place to visit for nature lovers and anyone interested in Canada’s geological beauty...

Beautiful fall spot for families! I Visited Cheltenham Badlands with my wife and 3-year-old daughter — we all loved it! The red hills are so unique, and the fall colors around the trees were absolutely stunning. It’s a short, easy walk on the boardwalk, great for kids and families. The views were incredible and perfect for photos. Highly recommend visiting in mid to late October. Book parking ahead and try to go early to avoid the crowds. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sirish C — Google review
Interesting place, but I liked better a road to it - we visited it at the end of October an fall colours on escarpment were on pick this year. Site itself is pretty small an the trail is just 320 meters only. You need to reserve a parking in advance. There are mobile toilets on parking as well as a couple of picknick tables.
Alex I — Google review
I visited Cheltenham Badlands on a crisp autumn afternoon and the fall colours were stunning — the rich red shale formations set against the golden and orange trees made for a spectacular scene. The site is open seasonally from May 9 to November 17 (dawn to dusk). Parking is reservation-only (you book online in advance) and each vehicle slot gives you a 90-minute visit by default. Fee structure (2025) is: Weekdays: ~$10 + HST for 90 minutes. Weekends/holidays: ~$20 + HST for 90 minutes. There are also 3-hour slots available for ~$18 on weekdays and ~$35 on weekends. When you arrive, stay on the boardwalk and designated trails — walking on the shale itself is prohibited so as to protect the fragile landscape. There are washrooms (portable/onsite) at the parking lot, and the main viewing point is accessible via a short trail and a 60 m boardwalk.
Sayan G — Google review
We were there on Saturday, and I wouldn’t recommend visiting on weekends - it’s way too crowded. Our friends went two days later, on Monday, and they almost had the place to themselves. There are two trails at the moment - the Badlands Trail (a short one) and the Bruce Trail. The view of the Badlands hills is only available from the Badlands Trail, so the other one is worth it only if you want to walk through the forest. We booked 1.5 hours, and it was more than enough to explore both trails. The view of the hills is truly stunning, especially in the fall.

Was told by an employee I can get a refund. Went to the store and was told that I can only get credit. Explained to them that an employee gave me the wrong information. They refused to make an exception. Ask for the name of the store manager and was told that I can't have it. Referred me to concierge. I told them I can't get through for days now. They said they they respond within 24 hours.I told them I contacted them more than 24 hours ago. They told me they're backed up. One BS answer after another. How do these people stay in business?

For my first camping experience, I couldn’t have chosen a better location than Sibbald Point. The campground offered ample space for parking and setting up multiple tents; we comfortably managed with two tents and one car, and still had plenty of room to spare. The site is meticulously maintained, with a variety of amenities that enhance the experience. There’s a beach and a boat area for water activities, designated spots for BBQs, and a food area, ensuring that all your outdoor needs are covered. One of the highlights is the abundance of washrooms conveniently located around each campsite, making the stay more comfortable. The campsites themselves are surrounded by trees, providing a sense of privacy and seclusion, which added to the overall enjoyment. Additionally, the proximity to a nearby neighborhood was a bonus. It’s reassuring to know that if you forget something or need to stock up on food or supplies, everything you need is just a short drive away. Sibbald Point truly offers a well-rounded camping experience, making it a perfect choice for both first-timers and seasoned campers alike.

Overall I recommend this beach. The beach has plenty of parking most of the time. My family has a season pass as we go here often as its close by. The beach is great for young children as they can go out fairly far and it is still shallow. There are also cool rocks to either fish from or snorkel. We camped here one time and it was a decent experience. One down side is the need to pre-register for each day use, although if you can get passed this its not bad. Another downside is because it's close to Toronto it gets many sketchy and disrespectful people. When we camped with my family and children the camper next to our site started blasting evil music with curse words in it and when we asked them to turn it down they didn't care. The park ranger ended up having to talk to these campers and give them a warning. Also almost every time we get a picnic table near the beach and start using it with our stuff all over it some disrespectful people place their belongings on our picnic table that we are using. I think it's a cultural thing and these recent immigrants don't understand Canadian values and respect for peoples space. Other than these incidents, this park is beautiful and fun for my family so we still will end up going here due to it being close and convenient.
Joel C — Google review
Beautiful spot. You can do a lot of beach activities. You need to bring your own canoe or kayak as rentals are not provided in the provincial park. Couple of Canadians and refugees were feeding sea gulls. Please avoid doing that. Other than that lake simcoe is love.
Suraj R — Google review
Spent two nights camping here and absolutely loved every minute. The grounds are very well kept as are the facilities. Such a beautiful and relaxing experience. Took a tour of the little museum and visited the shops as well, friendly staff. The water is clean as was the beach, overall a great place. Highly recommended. We left the dogs at home this trip but the lots are roomy enough to bring your pets and the dog beaches are easy accessible. It would be great if you could get a paddle boat or jetski rental nearby but you can bring your own as they do not have any on site or nearby.
Eternal D — Google review
Great place to camp not too far from Toronto. Sobeys is just a 9 minute drive away if you need more groceries. Camp grounds can be noisy, especially in the west camp where there are electric outlets. People blast music on loud speakers, sing and hold parties both at camp sites and at the beach, but it was lively and fun since they happened to play good music when we stayed there. Things quieted down before 11 pm. Electric outlets come in handy for people with electric cars, RVs, campers. Also many of us used the plugs to pump air mattresses, charge cell phones, etc. One family had string lights decorating their camp site at night which was pretty. Beautiful beach and lake for day trips or to enjoy while camping. Beach gets busy and crowded but we got there for 10 am on a Saturday and had a nice picnic table by the lake. Staff at the front gate and at the little amphitheatre were friendly and helpful. It was educational to go to amphitheatre to learn more about bugs. They had nets and containers for visitors for catching bugs which are then gently released back into the meadow. Be careful about ticks! I’ve attached the warning from the guide/guide to the park.
Wendy — Google review
This park offers a great camping experience with beautiful natural views. The beach is decent for swimming, and there aren't many mosquitoes. However, the washroom cleanliness could be improved, and the provided toilet paper is of low quality—it's best to bring your own. On the bright side, the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Tanger Outlets Cookstown is a delightful shopping destination located just north of Toronto in Simcoe County, making it an ideal escape from the bustling city life. This outlet mall stands out for its serene atmosphere, allowing shoppers to enjoy a more laid-back experience while exploring a diverse range of brand-name and designer stores. Visitors often rave about the fantastic deals available, particularly at popular outlets like Under Armour and Columbia.
Had a great shopping trip to Tanger Outlets Cookstown! The mall offers a wide selection of stores with some really good deals—especially during sales. I scored some amazing finds at the Coach outlet—great prices and super helpful staff. The whole place is clean, well-organized, and easy to get around. Plenty of parking and a few nice spots to grab a bite or coffee. Definitely worth the drive if you’re looking to snag some outlet deals without the big-city crowds. I’ll be back for sure!
Sheila G — Google review
We came here on a weekend to shop and it was pretty ok in terms of walk in traffic, not very crowded which I liked. The outlet offers a wide range of stores in almost every category. It has most of the top clothing brands. However, there is a lack of luxury brands which might be due to the further location form main cities. The whole outlet design, in terms of stores, is pretty nice and spacious. There is a small space for food court and sitting, which compared to the outlet size might come out a bit small. There is not enough seats and tables for the amount of traffic they host daily. Also, the variety of food is not that good. This could have had some better food brands to bring more variety. There is a tim hortons, which is a staple in every food court and is good. There is plenty of free parking outdoor and its usually easy to find a spot even when its busy. Washrooms are also pretty clean and stocked up as well. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, however, I might find pretty more well located and more varied outlets around the city than this one, so coming back might not be an option.

I am their customer since 2017. I went there almost 3 times a year. They have very good deals most of the time. They changed the Tanger application recently so new app is much better than the old one. The new customer evaluation and rewards system is much better. The deals in the new app is really fantastic. The Under Armour and Columbia always has a good deal. The Mall is very clean and quiet. The only thing I believe they can improve is the number and verify of the restaurant and fast food. I highly recommend.

We had dinner at Babbo and it was excellent—delicious food, beautiful presentation, and such a warm atmosphere. Even My Husband ordered one more burger. The staff made our celebration feel really special, and we appreciated their kindness and attention. Overall, this was the perfect getaway for us—relaxing, romantic, and unforgettable. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, it fell short of expectations in several key areas. The facility feels quite dated and is in need of a significant upgrade to meet the standards of comfort and cleanliness. The room had an unpleasant smell that made it hard to feel at ease. Service was also disappointing. Staff appeared disengaged and rarely acknowledged guests—even when passing by in close proximity. The lack of basic greetings or smiles created an unwelcoming atmosphere throughout the stay. Dining was a mixed experience. At dinner, the salad was dry and needed extra dressing, which I had to request separately. On the plus side, the salmon was nicely prepared and quite enjoyable. Breakfast, however, was not a good experience. My coffee mug had visible coffee stains, and after requesting a new one, the server forgot to bring it. When a replacement finally arrived, it also had stains, which was concerning from a hygiene standpoint. To add to the concerns, the restaurant washroom was poorly maintained. One of the garbage bins was full, and there was trash scattered on the floor—something that should have been addressed quickly in any food service environment. Overall, this hotel requires significant improvements in both facility maintenance and service quality to offer a comfortable and welcoming experience.

My husband and I booked a room last minute and were so happy we did! Front desk staff was awesome. Taran and Ricky went above and beyond to ensure we had a great visit. Breakfast was included and pretty good! On summer weekends they have loads of drop-in activities that end at 5pm. The resort includes an Indoor and outdoor pool, Sauna, hot tub, 3 restaurants, Spa, bike rentals and loads of places to lounge out. And it’s a place you can escape all year round!! Not to mention the rooms are spacious and offer a great view via the balcony. If you ever need somewhere to escape and recharge- consider Hockley Valley Resort.

We were there this weekend with a group for a golf tournament and dinner. The food and staff were terrific. Melt in your mouth sirloin beef carvery buffet, yummy appetizers to start and a delicious breakfast in the morning which was part of our package. A very enjoyable time in the relaxing resort with lots of amenities and lovely rural area. Thanks to all the wonderful staff.

I have been to Hockley Valley many times and always enjoy staying there, going to the spa and dining at Cabin. This trip was especially special,,we were given one of the newly renovated rooms and it was so delightful. Made our visit that much more special. Looking forward to returning soon. Natalie R

The resort advertised an Easter Buffet. In the past we had been there many times but it was very good. This year (2025) and this year you were required to prepay for the buffet. They had a number of various sitting times and as we had young children, Selected the last sitting. The service was good however, for the price of the meal for 6 adults, I felt it was a rip off. It was obvious that there had been no fresh items brought out all day and the seafood and roast beef was nowhere to be found. All there was left were picked over eggs and an assortment of other dishes that were dried out or cold. Never again will I pay upfront for such an expensive meal for so poor quality.
David J — Google review
Dated rooms, below-average furnishings. However, great location in a lovely setting. The restaurant on-site and the breakfast buffet are both excellent! Having to pay to take a cup of coffee to go after the breakfast did leave a sour note to end on. That is no longer industry standard.

They have a really nice property here, the facilities could use some updating and they are in the process of renovating some rooms, my friend had an updated one and it was quite nice. I love the concept of the winery, golf course and a nice little ski hill in one resort. If they step up their game a little it would be a very appealing destination.

This is a very nice park for anyone to enjoy. We went for a long walk right on the waterfront and stopped to workout at the outdoor workout stations along the way. There are benches and washrooms available. Parking is easy and close to the walking path. From the park there are many coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance. There was a large playground for children as well.

Spirit Catcher

Sculpture
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled along the picturesque shores of Kempenfelt Bay, the Spirit Catcher stands as a striking 21-metre kinetic sculpture that draws inspiration from indigenous mythology, particularly the thunderbird. Crafted by artist Ron Baird for Expo 86 in Vancouver, this impressive piece was later donated to enhance Barrie's artistic landscape and installed in 1987. Today, it serves as a prominent landmark and cultural symbol for both locals and visitors alike.
The Barrie Spirit Catcher is an iconic and mesmerizing landmark along Kempenfelt Bay. Its towering metal wings are not only a stunning piece of art but also a symbol of the city’s Indigenous heritage and vibrant spirit. A must-see spot for anyone visiting Barrie—especially at sunrise or sunset, when it stands beautifully against the sky.🍂
Gurkamal S — Google review
Great place to reflect on Canadian history and have a moment of reflection. Ron Baird's Spirit Catcher. He states that the inspiration for his sculpture stemmed from the oral traditions of the Anishinaabe. I photographed this sculpture using a Kodak Brownie Bullet. This camera was manufactured in the same year that numerous residential schools opened their doors. For example the "Amos Indian Residential School" (1955-1973) was essentially a concentration camp where thousands of innocent children were mercilessly abused at the hands of the Church. When I removed the film roll my finger slipped and the 127 spool loosened a lot. They allowed for massive light leaks and caused major damage before I secured it. The damage to the film stock is indicative of the damage done to the European and Anishinaabe relationship. Furthermore the light leaks appear as if they are erasing the sculpture much like Canada's efforts to erase Indigenous people.

I was very impressed with experiencing the Spirit Catcher. I received my new spirit from there. Barrie is an amazing place to visit. I love ❤️ it so much and will visit again with my family 👪 I visited today with Kumar & Mark 📌 Kumar is the owner of Soldier Gear and Mark 🚩 is the Barber at Soldier Gear also. Mark gave me a cut & shave and his work is worth $100 for the excellent job he did. Very impressed 😮 and now he is my Barber for Life. Great Job Soldier Gear ⚙️ Keep up the Excellent customer service experience.

The Spirit Catcher sculpture in Barrie, Ontario, is a striking symbol of the city's vibrant arts and culture scene. Designed by artist Ron Baird, this iconic structure stands tall at the waterfront, resembling a large bird with outstretched wings. Its dynamic form and gleaming steel construction make it a captivating focal point along the scenic shoreline of Kempenfelt Bay. The Spirit Catcher serves as a beacon of inspiration and creativity, inviting visitors to contemplate its beauty and significance. Whether admired from afar or explored up close, this beloved sculpture embodies the spirit of Barrie and is a must-see attraction for locals and tourists alike. Parking is available

The Spirit Catcher- the big sculpture is little on the hill. So view was great! And also a harbor was there. So can see many boats too. Parking lot fee is $1 a hour.

Beautiful boardwalk, so in love with it: excellent for family times, biking, long walking (I did 10 km back and forth). With the autumn, you don't even notice that you do the workout : it's so beautiful out there

Very big metal statue of a thunderbird called Spirit Catcher donated in 1986. Created by Artist Ron Baird. Looks rustic. Parking is available right beside the statue but it is not free. We came in the winter months and the path is not clear so you have to climb over snowbanks if you want to get closer to the plaques to read information about the art installation. It’s a good 5 min break or for a quick drive by as a point of interest if you happen to be in the area.

Casino Rama is a renowned casino and entertainment complex situated in Rama, Ontario, Canada. It offers a variety of amenities including refined suites, live music, multiple dining options, a rooftop patio, and a spa. The casino boasts an extensive gaming floor with over 2,500 slot machines and more than 100 table games. Additionally, it is known for hosting impressive concerts and providing exceptional customer service.
We visited Casino Rama for the UB40 concert and had such a great time! From the moment we checked in, the staff made everything easy and enjoyable. We checked in around 10a.m and the front desk team was so pleasant, helpful, and accommodating and made us feel so welcome. Housekeeping was friendly and efficient - we needed extra towels and they not only sent them up quickly, but brought them in and organized them for us! Even the concert staff stood out — so cheerful which really added to the fun. The hotel was spotless. Our room super clean and beautifully set up. The pool area was a highlight — bright, clean, and well-stocked with towels. The hot tub was perfect after a long drive, and while the sauna wasn’t in service, it honestly didn’t take away from how nice the space was. We had dinner at St. Germain’s Steakhouse and it was excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was surprisingly fast for such a busy spot. Overall, everything about the stay felt smooth and enjoyable. Can’t wait to start planning my next visit!

We had a great time! Our room was upgraded to a jr suite, which was awesome. It was huge, comfortable and very nice. The pool area and sauna/steam rooms were perfect after a long day of walking the casino floor. The property was really nice too, lots of apple trees down the walking trail.

Amazing resort. I am not much for gambling, but really enjoy the concert venue. Rooms are beautiful, very clean and spacious. Great staff. Food at Match Restaurant is excellent (we didn’t get to try the others). Tim’s on site is open 24 hrs. Lovely shops as well featuring local indigenous artists. Well worth the drive!

The hotel is very nice, and decorated beautifully. Room was large and clean. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, some at reasonable prices. I'm not really a casino person but it seemed ok but hate to see live dealers replaced with machines on craps and roulette.

Rama Casino is definitely one of the best casinos in Ontario. It’s a great spot for entertainment and enjoyment, especially for spending weekends. The gaming platforms are exciting, and if played properly, there’s a good chance of getting returns and having fun at the same time. The only area I’d say could improve is the complimentary drinks — taste-wise, they aren’t the best quality. Otherwise, everything else is excellent. Overall, I would give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I'm writing to express my gratitude for the incredible experience I had during my recent stay at your establishment. I was thoroughly impressed by the beautiful building and event space, the fantastic restaurants, and the sheer opulence of the rooms and suites. The casino was also a highlight, and the complimentary $10 card was a thoughtful touch that enhanced the experience. Thank you again for providing such a high level of service and a memorable stay. I look forward to returning soon.

My family and I recently visited Casino Rama with our children. While our experience initially had a few challenges (through no fault of the hotel), I wanted to take a moment to highlight the outstanding customer service we received from Crystal Wilson. Crystal was incredibly understanding and empathetic when we shared our concerns. Her professionalism and genuine care made a significant difference in turning our experience around. It’s clear that your team truly values its guests and goes above and beyond to ensure they feel heard and supported. Casino Rama is a beautiful resort, and thanks to the exceptional service we received, we’re very much looking forward to returning. I highly recommend it as a wonderful getaway destination.

2024 September 2.5★ Located near the port, this beach is small and has a lot of pebbles. A small playground and washrooms are available, but really, It's just an ok beach. It would be better if the beach was combed and rocks removed. No dog signs are around, but you still see them there. People need to be more considerate for everyone and at the very least, pick up after your dog. Otherwise, the waters are ok. Overall, the beach is fine for those in the area. However, not quite a place to venture on to.

After lunch we took a stroll down to the waterfront in Orilla, and to our surprise it was absolutely beautiful. This was our first time visiting the waterfront. There were plenty of trails to walk, a couple of sandy beach spots with public washrooms/change rooms, a fantastic kids jungle gym, splash pad and an outdoor theatre. Plenty of picnic tables and beautiful grounds to have a picnic with your family and friends. There were many options for snacks and ice cream to purchase, and the nearby restaurants are a short walk.

Peaceful Night Escape by the Shore 🌊✨” Visited this beach at night, and it was an absolutely serene experience. The soft sound of waves, cool breeze, and the dim city lights far away created the perfect calm atmosphere. The beach was quiet, with only footprints in the sand telling stories of earlier visitors. The night sky reflecting on the water made it feel like a private getaway. Perfect spot to relax, think, or just enjoy the beauty of nature without the crowds. 🌌🏖

No proper sings up for pay parking. After writing me a ticket they said I’d still have to pay for parking to not get another ticket. They have so many law enforcers to write parking ticket and not a single person cleaning the broken glass all over the beach. I Picked up so many where my family was sitting. I hope the use the parking ticket money to clean up the beach to make it safer for families. Not coming here again.

Attended the Tribute Legends show and a bit of gambling. The show was very enjoyable and the theatre was sold out. The casino offers a good variety of plays however noticeable less winners from when in the hands of previous owners. The selection of artist appears to have changed, more country and comedians, neither of which are my choice. No matter where you sit viewing is acceptable, aided by the 2 large screens. I suggest if you have viewing issues, wait for all to be seated then move up to the center top rows.

Had the best day on the Wenonah II today! Seven years in a row! 🛳️ Drinks and food available, the narrator on the ship, Richard was so informative and funny! We had such an amazing time on the Muskoka Steamship "Pirate" Boat Trip! I went with my 6-year-old daughter and her grandparents, and it was the perfect family outing. The experience was so fun and interactive, the crew did a fantastic job keeping the kids entertained the whole time. It was also budget-friendly, with affordable drink options on board. I loved that there were lots of seating choices both inside and outside, so you could enjoy the beautiful views no matter the weather. The boat was also accessible, with washrooms and even an elevator on board, which was great. This is such a fantastic family vacation idea, and there’s lots to see and do in the area before or after your cruise. We would definitely go back ... highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, affordable, and memorable day with the family!

Today, we had the pleasure of taking a delightful 2.5-hour cruise on the beautiful Lake Muskoka. The weather couldn’t have been better—warm sunshine, calm waters, and fresh air all around. The entire journey was accompanied by captivating stories told by our knowledgeable guide. Lake Muskoka is truly vast, stretching roughly 30 kilometers long and 10 kilometers wide, with depths reaching up to 70 meters in many places. The cruise departed from Gravenhurst, just about 150 kilometers north of Toronto—a perfect distance for a day trip. What makes this lake so unique is not just its size, but the sheer number of islands scattered across its waters—each with its own charm and story. At one point during the cruise, we sailed through a narrow channel between two islands, only 9 meters wide. The ship passed so close to the shores that it felt like you could reach out and touch the trees. It was magical. This incredible experience was made possible by Muskoka Steamships, a company that operates two historic vessels on the lake. One of the ships is an astonishing 125 years old and still proudly cruising. Both offer a variety of tours—with or without meals on board—and provide an unforgettable way to explore this iconic Canadian destination. We loved every minute of it. The cruise, the scenery, the stories—it was all absolutely worth it.

Sunset Point Beach

Public beach
Nature & Parks
Small stony beach overlooking the bay with a park, playground & picnic area.
Hidden Gem for a Peaceful Beach Day – Sunset Point Beach 🌅 If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic beach with fewer crowds, Sunset Point Beach is an amazing spot. Tucked away from the usual hustle and bustle, it offers a serene atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxing day out in nature. The views are absolutely breathtaking — especially during sunset, when the sky turns into a canvas of warm colors over the calm water. 🌊✨ One thing to keep in mind: the beach is rocky and doesn’t have sandy areas, so it might not be the best spot for younger kids who want to play in the sand. But if you plan ahead — maybe bring water shoes or mats — you’ll still enjoy it thoroughly. The fresh air, cool breeze, and crystal-clear water make it a perfect escape from city life. What really surprised me (in the best way!) was the Sunset Point Playground right next to the beach. It’s an excellent, well-maintained play area for kids, with plenty of space, modern equipment, and a safe environment. My kids had a blast, and I was genuinely impressed by how thoughtfully the space was designed. Overall, Sunset Point Beach is a beautiful, family-friendly destination if you’re looking to unwind, enjoy nature, and spend quality time by the water — just remember to plan for the rocky shore. Highly recommended for a calm day out or a peaceful evening by the lake. 🌅🌿

Amazing place for a quiet and relaxing sunset view. There's no proper beach here, the beach area has mostly rocks and pebbles so sand toys for kids may not work here. There's also good areas to bike and there's a real good park for kids too. We took a good picnic blanket and sat by a bench next to the sea. Calming serene views. Recommended for a peaceful stress relieving experience!
Indu P — Google review
One of the best beaches near the GTA! I've explored many beaches around the area, but Sunset Point Beach in Collingwood truly stands out. While most places have the usual rocks, water, and sand, this spot offers something special. The parking is $10/hour, but it's absolutely worth it. There are fantastic seating areas with natural tree shade, so you don't need to bring your own chairs or umbrellas. The water is clean, clear, and shallow—great for families with kids. It's a bit rocky, but still comfortable to explore barefoot. Don't miss the Inukshuk landmark —it's a perfect place to relax and take in a stunning sunset. Time flies here! It's not overly crowded, and there's a lot for kids to enjoy, including a small play area. Bonus: Tim Hortons is just a 4-minute drive away, and many visitors even bring BBQs to enjoy a full day out. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
Prashant S — Google review
Parking is unreasonably expensive — $10 per hour! That alone is a major downside and made the visit feel less worthwhile. The beach itself is average at best, with mostly rocky shoreline and just a small sandy area. On the plus side, there’s a decent playground for kids, but overall, it didn’t live up to expectations. Wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.

Calm place, sit relax and watch the nature's play. Visited Canada for a business trip and after the office hours visited this wonderful place. Surprised to watch the sunset around 9 pm and enjoyed the time over there. A place to visit with family and kids. Actually a stress relieving place...

Sunset Point Beach Park is one of the most beautiful spots in Collingwood. The view of the bay is stunning in every season, whether it’s summer nights under the stars by the Inukshuk or the peaceful, snowy winter shoreline. It’s the perfect place for a walk, a picnic, or just to relax and watch the sunset. The park is clean, family-friendly, and has a calm vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area!

Perfect Spot for Relaxing by the Water” Sunset Point Beach is exactly what its name promises — the sunsets here are stunning! Water & Amusement Parks
Santa's Village, located in the picturesque town of Bracebridge, Muskoka, is a delightful Christmas-themed amusement park that has been captivating families for over 60 years. Spanning across 60 acres along the scenic Muskoka River, this enchanting destination offers an array of attractions suitable for both children and adults. Visitors can enjoy thrilling activities like go-karts, mini-golf, zip-lining, and rock-climbing while also taking part in seasonal events such as dog shows and Hawaiian luaus.
It was our first time at Santa Village, and the kids had an absolute blast — and so did the parents! This is truly a must-visit destination for families with young children. Despite the sunny weather, the festive atmosphere and all the rides kept everyone entertained. There’s a great variety of attractions, especially for toddlers, and everything is very family-friendly. The highlight for us was seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus outside, warmly greeting every visitor — such a magical touch! The Yeti Ride was definitely a favorite for our family. We’re already planning to come back in winter to experience the full Christmas vibe. Highly recommended for a magical family outing!

I went to Santa’s Village with my family and honestly, I had never heard of it before. When we arrived, I was really surprised by how much fun it was! The new Yeti roller coaster was a blast — my kids loved it and we went on it many, many times. The whole place has a great family vibe and lots to do for kids of all ages. Just a heads up, there are only a few food stands, so it’s best to plan ahead and line up early for lunch before the crowds. Overall, it was a fantastic family day and we’ll definitely be back!

10 Stars, great place to take the family, likely to be enjoyed by kids under 10 but still great for all, staff at all the rides and venues are super friendly not like most Carneys, only food is extra and a few additional like Elf ID card etc, not constant cash grab , there is a gift shop at entrance/ exit. Food was good, rides were good and Yeti coaster was excellent. Great value for your money, free parking even, went on a Saturday and no wait in any line, absolutely amazing experience. Recommend 100%

We had an amazing time at Santa Village! The natural surroundings are absolutely beautiful — tall trees, fresh air, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it feel like a true getaway from the city. It’s the perfect place for families, especially with young kids. The attractions are really well done and fun for all ages. Our children had a blast exploring all the rides and activities. Everything felt safe, clean, and well-organized. What really stood out to us was the Halloween event — it was magical! The decorations, costumes, and themed activities created such a fun and spooky atmosphere without being too scary for the little ones. It was clear that a lot of thought and effort went into making it special. Santa Village is a fantastic destination for a day trip or weekend adventure with the family. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Spent the day at Santa's Village with the family. An annual trip to Santa's Village is a family tradition and we always look forward to it. The weather was hot today but it didn't bother us at all as we were able to remain cool thanks to the breeze coming off the water and blowing through the trees. That is one of the things I love about Santa's Village, that it is nestled in amongst the trees along the riverside. The rides are great and the natural setting is a beautiful bonus. This visit we were able to test out the new roller-coaster The Yeti! It got two thumbs up from every member of the family except the youngest. We also rode on our family favourite rides like Santa's Summer Sleigh, The train, and the Pepermint Penguin. We decided to give the Yule Log a try for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and friendly and there was something on the menu to please everyone. Added bonus was the AC and washrooms inside. The highlight of Papa's day was attending Elf School. A fun time was had by all! It is always worth the drive to Bracebridge as every summer needs a bit of Christmas magic!

My wife and I took our daughter. We went this year during the Halloween Spooktacular. She loved the rides had a blast. This is a great family fun park. 2nd time we have gone here, will take her again. Staff was also really friendly. Ohh and got to meet Santa early. Highly recommend for family fun

Fantastic Halloween visit at Santa’s Village—festive, friendly, and perfectly not‑too‑scary for kids. The Pumpkin in the Pines trail, cheerful inflatables, and riverside photo spots made it feel truly magical, and staff kept lines moving and areas spotless. Big thumbs up for the new Yeti Trek coaster: smooth, zippy, and just the right dose of thrills for families without being intimidating. Five stars for a well‑run, memory‑making fall day—we’ll be back!

We stopped here on our way to Huntsville and had such a great time! I visited as a kid, but it was even better coming back with my family. Our daughter loved every part of the day—especially the elf training! The rides were a lot of fun for the whole family, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The lines weren’t too bad, and we were pleasantly surprised that the food and ice cream were very reasonably priced. The Yeti Trek Rollercoaster is definitely a must-do! We’ll most likely be back again next summer for another fun visit.

Awenda Provincial Park, the second-largest provincial park in Ontario, spans 2,900 hectares of forested land. The park offers campgrounds, hiking and biking trails, and a lake where visitors can enjoy swimming and sunbathing on its five mixed sand/stone beaches. Birdwatchers will appreciate the diverse bird species found in the area. The drive into the park is surrounded by protected forests, providing a stunning natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts.
I had a wonderful time tent camping with my partner and my dog here. We were in the quiet zone and we were able to fully relax in nature. There were so many acorns during our time there, it was such a fun experience. We also did some of the trails there and I found them to be all very well kept and beautiful. My only negative (and to be honest I don't care that much) would be that there is a lot of distance between locations so you end up driving more than expected. Would definitely come back!

stayed at snake campground. campsites are big and private, very quiet. Beaches are nice though a bit rocky. Trails are a bit boring compared to other popular parks. Overall good experience.
Peng H — Google review
The beach is almost sandy with large stones but great for swimming with lots of waves. The camp sites are fully shadowed so no sky watching at night or direct sunlight during the day but the wind blowing in the trees makes great scenes. The forest is pretty dense but the camp sites are mostly exposed. So less privacy. Also book Hawk and Wolf campsites for electricity. The washrooms are regularly cleaned. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful Province Park. Just a 1 hour drive from Creemore Ontario. They have 4 beaches, inland lake and lots and lots of hiking trails. We decided to go to Awenda, looking for a fishing spot, but ended up doing more hiking than fishing. The roads in the park are well maintained and wined through the amazing forest. As we were only there for a day pass, we didn't go to the camping side of the park. There are lots of parking spots at the beaches and the inland lake. There are trails everywhere. Our next beach day will definitely be there. BBQ food and swimming on tree lined beaches.
Wylam S — Google review
One of the larger provincial parks closer to the GTA. Vast area with multiple trails. Camp sites are mostly private, but one can still see and hear the neighboring sites. The comfort stations are clean with warm showers. Since the park is large it takes quite a bit of driving to get anywhere, from the entrance to the office, and then to the campsite, and to the wood depot / park store and to the beach. The beach trail connecting the beaches is very scenic and quite a short hike that anyone can make. It is quite amazing how each beach feels different and the weather in each one of them varies quite a bit. The trail is well maintained and there are multiple toilet vaults (no running water) and garbage bins along the trails. Planning to go back in the fall because the park mostly has tall Maples and Oaks, and it should be spectacular just driving around.
Naga S — Google review
Park is huge. Very nice and big camp sites with lots of trees. There was a lot of rain when we went and the camp sites are very clean, no puddles or stagnant water. Neat well maintained washrooms in campsites. Beach is very nice except it is all rocky beach. We couldn't do kayak as ours is inflatable kayak and could not take chance with all those rocks, but if you have a stable kayak, it is very good for kayaking. Lots of parking around the beach area. A couple of things i did not like were: 1. There are no change rooms / flushable toilets near the beach. 2. Beach is too far from camp sites. We must drive.

What an amazing place! We camped here for 3 nights over the father's day weekend. Check in was super easy and the staff were extremely friendly. Our campsite (site #71 in hawk) was gorgeous, clean and had so much privacy. They have a few nice trails here our favorite was the methodist point via beach trail. It was almost 6km and took us about 1.5hrs. Stunning scenery around Todd point. The beach was beautiful and super clean and the water was perfect for some swimming. We even took our Paddle boards out in the waves. The highlight of the weekend. Kettle lake beautiful as well and much bigger than I though it would be. Just be aware they do not have canoe rentals before July. We enjoyed our camping trip to awenda so much, it deserves the 5/5.
Brent — Google review
Lush green and beautiful. Very peaceful, wasn't crowded. Great spot to get a canoe at kettle lake. Would suggest carrying food from the nearest market because once you enter the park the closest eatery will be atleast 4 miles away. Carry bug spray as well.

Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery is a must-visit destination in the region, offering a delightful culinary experience. The winery is part of Johnston's Cranberry Marsh, a local institution with deep roots dating back to the 1950s. Visitors can sign up for the Bog to Bottle Discovery tour to witness the process of growing Canadian fruits and their transformation into wine.
My boyfriend and I came for the night snowshoeing, and it was fantastic! Aiden welcomed us and was so friendly and helpful at the information booth! His attitude made me so excited and he helped us every step of the way! The trail was really easy to walk and loved the night aspect of it. The trail isn’t as lit as the skating loop but you are given a head lamp to help you see! We really enjoyed it! Was a nice loop, and loved the views. I have gone previous to do the skating loop which is a favourite of mine but if you have the option to do both, do both!

Went here with my girls for my bachelorette party and had a great time! We did the tour which was really interesting and then enjoyed wine and food. The pretzels were the best!Overall we had a great time and I would love to come back again during harvest season to see the bogs filled up!

The staff were amazing — from the friendly lady at the reception, to the staff member at the cranberry plunge pool, the kind lady at the shop, and the gentleman who gave us great suggestions for places to eat. Everyone was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the cranberry fields. I definitely want to come back again! I loved the time I spent here, and their cranberries are absolutely delicious.

My boyfriend and I visited Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery today, and we had the best time! We began our day with Bob's guided wagon tour of the farm. Bob is worth the price of admission alone - he is hilarious - and made teaching us about the workings of the cranberry farm a lot of fun, as well as informative. Browsing through the gift shop, with its rustic charm and cranberry-themed everything, was a unique and fun experience. We sipped samples of wine and fresh cranberry juice, while enjoying our day in the crisp autumn air at this welcoming and relaxing farm in Bala ON.

Visiting Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery was one of the highlights of my Muskoka trip! Nestled among beautiful cranberry field, the place offers a wonderful mix of nature, local flavor, and authentic Muskoka hospitality. The cranberry bog walk was fascinating — it’s not every day you get to see how cranberries are harvested, and the staff do an amazing job explaining the process. The wines are delicious and different ofcourse as they are not traditional wines made of grapes—yet they are light, refreshing, and full of character and at a very affordable price. The on-site café and shop also have great treats. If you visit in the fall, the Cranberry Harvest is a must-see specially during the Cranberry festival weekend.

You won me over from the moment I spotted the old truck beside your cranberry patch! THEN, a lovely senior playing guitar and singing. Nice first impression! We had just had our lunch elsewhere so we were unable to take advantage of the great little snack shop and stay for a set. We were looking for a red & a white wine to take to our hosts for dinner. One of the lovely ladies spent ten minutes with us explaining the background, preferences and suggestions. We bought two for our hosts, two to take home and a bottle of portage that I plan to use in my famous butter tarts soon. Highly recommend the gem in the forest.

I am giving this place 1 star. I went yesterday and it was the first time I experienced racism in my life and it was by 1 of their employees. Their website is also awful for not explaining the times for the activities when you buy an all access pass. What happened? Boyfriend and I are visibly minorities. There's no doubt about our backgrounds when you see us. I am latina and boyfriend is black. I bought 2 all access passes. The girl at Information was able to get us both for 3pm for the wagon ride (she was awesome). When we got there that's when we found out that since our wagon ride was at 3p the wine tasting was at 3:30p and the plunge was for 4:30p and we couldnt change those times. Our tour bus was leaving at 4:30p. We walked to the plunge. At 2:30p the lady came and asked the 1st couple for their time slot. They said theirs was for 3:30p. Lady said that's fine they can join the 2:30p plunge. We were next. I explained ours was for 4:30 and we cant do the plunge for 4:30 because our bus leaves at 4:30p. Lady said, no. They were all booked up and had no spots. NO SPOTS AT ALL. Just no. (I mean 2 just opened up for 3:30p). I was very shocked. It was clear what was happening. I've never experienced this before and we walked away and I tried to forget it. This was the lady who was thin/average size, black and white hair, wavy/curly, about my height maybe a bit shorter (5"5). I didn't get her name. I should have. I honestly tried to think of other reasons why it was an instant no for us but a yes for the white couple before us. Racism is really the only answer. We should have been able to atleast take that couples time slot if the time slots were full. I can honestly say I will never visit again. I will be reaching out to the bus tour company about the situation as well as I think they should know what their customers are experiencing and should consider another location if possible. Everyone else was really nice and friendly, except that 1 lady. Unfortunately it takes 1 person to ruin an experience. I will also reach out to the company and send them an email and request their employees receive training.
Iris V — Google review
Lovely place but unfriendly service. The woman staff member yelled at the visitor, who had to wash their hands after touching the cranberry, as it had a smell on their hands. That's why we want to wash our hands. No information on where to wash hands, and it's not really 30 minutes in the Cranberry plunge, just 15 minutes. The staff in the shop isn't friendly either.

Oastler Lake Provincial Park is a charming retreat nestled near Parry Sound, making it an ideal getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. This picturesque campground features spacious sites surrounded by a delightful mix of pine and deciduous trees, with many offering stunning waterfront views. Summer visitors can indulge in various activities such as canoeing, boating, and fishing on the serene lake.
Had a wonderful week camping at Oastler Lake. The sound of the trains didn't really bother us. The fishing was not good, but we had fun kayaking and swimming. Our dog enjoyed swimming too. We used the small 2 stall bathroom near our site. They were kept pretty clean, but often ran out of toilet paper. Firewood sold on site was nice and dry. My family really liked this park, we will return!
Cyndy D — Google review
Beautiful park! I imagine it gets even more beautiful in the fall! Our site was 151 — a beautiful site with two pads so you can park separate from where your tent or eating is. Waterfront access and incredibly clean! Only reason it isn’t five stars because there are trains that run through semi often. It didn’t bother me too much and I didn’t wake up in the night, but was challenging getting to bed. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper! This is also a very easy stop off the highway so if you are driving through on the TransCanada, this park adds virtually no time going out of the way. I have never heard of this park prior, but I’m so glad we have stopped as I’d love to go back now we know!
Paige — Google review
Not a bad little campground in the Muskokas. Noise from the nearby highway wasn’t as bad as I expected. The campground has a great selection of campsites from powered for rvs to some nice forested tent sites. Amenities are standard. Take a canoe or kayak ride around the bays.
Franklin B — Google review
Sites are generous in size and spaced apart nicely. The land is beautiful with well kept grounds. The front staff are very friendly and helpful and the staff kept the washrooms and grounds very clean and well stocked daily. The beaches and water were stunning. The park was rented out yet we couldn’t tell at all it was busy. Very quiet and so specious the entire weekend was very peaceful.
Christine E — Google review
Oastler Lake PP has been overall nice to us. We just had heavy rain one day, but overall experience was good. There is only one thing I did not like, the sites are not very private and we had the site 155, which was in front of the comfort stations. I specifically booked it for us to be convenient, however, people in the campsite behind 102 and 104, there was a large group and they just kept passing through out campsite, even after we repeatedly told them not to. They were not nice people and even after we complained about them, they still kept doing it. They did not ask for permission, or nothing. They just thought that’s their campsite. But other than that, washrooms were good, our campsite was good. It has a nice beach and you can also rent canoes. It was a good experience.
Pulkit S — Google review
Enjoyed our time at site #117. Good size park but no hiking trails so a more relaxing/sedentary boat versus active. Nice to have direct water access and a big lot. We were on the side of the park closest to the highway to get into the park, which is quite noisy. As well, there’s a train track with trains regularly on it.
KL D — Google review
This park was lovely! I’ve visited very many Ontario parks, and while this one isn’t my favourite, it was a nice few days. Tucked close to Parry sound, there was no shortage of adventures to be had. We went up the tower and walked the gardens, which I highly recommend, walked the rose point trail, took the swing bridge to Parry Island, and saw the trains roar past Reynolds junction. The park is quiet, beautiful, and the sites are great! As with most parks, the electric are much less private, but the non electric and walk ins are amazing, right on the water! One thing that took a star away - TRAINS!! The trains go by all day AND night, so if you’re a light sleeper, you want white noise or best to find another northern park.
Amanda D — Google review
Went camping on a long weekend this summer with some friends. The beach is beautiful, clean and great for walking in the water. But there are no washrooms nearby the beach, washrooms are located on the opposite side of the park. There are no shade shelters or umbrellas for the picnic tables. The park is very small and you can walk the entire thing in about 15 minutes. The sites offer no privacy or separation from other sites. Friends of ours on another site said that other campers just walked through their site to take a shortcut to the showers. Very unsettling at night to hear people walk right beside your tent. There is little to no patrolling or enforcement of the provincial park rules. ( noise, burning of garbage etc) The water is very shallow, which is great for children but not the best for adults who want to swim. If you went out past the enclosure so swim in deeper water, the weeds were very bad. The area is very close to a railway, so you do hear a train almost every hour or so and it does happen throughout the night. The stars from the beach are beautiful and we still had a great time despite some unexpected surprises. It is the loudest camping ground I have ever stayed at. If you come here to get away from the noise of the city, you will be left disappointed.

Screaming Heads

Art
Nature & Parks
Screaming Heads, located on Midlothian Road in Burks Falls, is a surreal and somewhat eerie sculpture park that seems to have sprung from the pages of a storybook. The park features large sculptures and various displays spread across its grounds. Visitors are advised to check in with the staff at the Screaming Threads shop for guidance before embarking on their exploration. Bug repellent is recommended, and it's wise to carry a water bottle while wandering through this unique landscape.
Wow! What an experience! The care and artistic eye for this property are absolutely incredible. I was in awe, screaming actually 😉. The lady the was there volunteering at the merch hut upon entry greeted everyone with enthusiasm and was knowledgeable about the property, the art process and the creator. We walked the property for about an hour, sat in a few spots to rest and take everything in. We also had fun finding other faces and phrases in the bases of the sculptures.
Sarah Z — Google review
I stopped by Screaming Heads in Burk’s Falls during the day, and it felt like stepping into a surreal open-air gallery tucked away in a huge field. The place was almost empty—maybe 10 people total and about the same number of cars—which gave it a strangely peaceful, almost eerie atmosphere. Workers were setting up tents for the upcoming Harvest Festival, so it was clear the space was gearing up for something much bigger on the weekend. Walking around, the sculptures themselves were impressive, but I could tell the real magic happens at night. They had fire bins set up where logs would normally be lit to cast dramatic shadows on the art, but in the daytime, they sat unused. Same with the light displays—I could imagine how incredible the massive concrete “heads” would look illuminated against the dark sky with music playing in the background. Even without the night effects, it was still a cool and unique spot. Free to enter, wide open to explore, and perfect for taking photos of the unusual and haunting artwork. If you’re nearby, it’s worth checking out anytime, but I’d recommend going after dark or during an event to really see the place come alive.
Paul B — Google review
Such an amazing place to visit! I was blown away by all the incredible sculptures and how huge the property is. We were lucky to meet the owner while he was doing some maintenance, he took the time to share some of the history behind the place, which was really cool. We went in October and the fall colors made it even more beautiful. Can’t wait to come back in the summer for some of the fun events! Also no bugs in October;)

Have been looking to visit this place for quiet sometime now and finally did last week and what a unusual creepy interesting place... so beautiful eerie looking sculptures spread across this massive beautiful land.... some sculptures have a different meaning if you look from another angle...cant imagine how amazing and scary it would be during the night with all the lights and firepits lit up. It is definitely a must visit if one is around muskoka or Huntsville area and entry and parking is free only donations...

This is a very interesting art installation. We arrive late in the day on a Wednesday, and basically had the whole place to ourselves. The property itself is HUGE and very beautiful. There was part through the spider we gates that was closed, so we couldn't go in. The trails aren't marked very well and there is no map. We walked to many dead ends and had to turn around, and only saw about 20 heads because we walked in so many circles. We saw more across the street as we were leaving that we had no clue about, which made us realize we had probably had missed a lot, and further investigation on Google confirmed that we indeed had. Most of what we saw was overgrown with grass and weeds. Lots of horse and deer flies, so be sure to spray down with heavy bug spray, and close toed shoes for the overgrown trails. The heads themselves make you wonder what the artist was thinking as he created them, but they are fascinating, and very beautiful in their own way. They might seem creepy and scary to young children, so I would consider that when bringing kids. It would be a good family activity for families with older children though. Personally, I would go back to explore some more, but I would arrive much earlier and plan to spend the whole day exploring.

Pretty cool park, full of whimsical installations. I arrived at 6:45 on a rainy day so did a quick run through, would be best to plan a few hours on a sunny day. The installations are in several fields, not sure if there is a map... lots of different areas, looks like a Frisbee golf course set up too.

The park is the best destination for camping. I am not a fan of sleeping in a tent, but Killbear lets me have the desire to try. The views are Incredible! The water is crystal clear and clean. The rocky bank of The Tree looks so similar to the coast of Prince Edward Island... Vast, clean, peaceful.

It's Halloween 🎃 day and we just left the park. Great biking trails, so smooth and beautiful beaches. Sites are not very private but they are spacious. Great bathrooms and there is a decent store near by. No LCBO that I saw. Not very pet friendly. Off leash is a drivable distance. Great place for family and kids.

Nice park - quite busy, and a lot of sites seem really close to each other. A lot of beautiful water front sites - but keep in mind the wind off the bay can be quite strong! Great campground for someone with a motorized boat. We kayak- so we prefer smaller lakes like af Grundy.

Great provincial park. Very large, camping sites have good space and plenty of trees for privacy from the camper next to you. Beaches are nice, good biking trails and fantastic views ! Also, if you like snakes, you are almost certain to see one if you look. If I was to find one fault while we were there, it's the showers at all comfort stations were closed due to a lack of water pressure I was told.

Great camp ground! Not a lot of privacy between each camp ground but the cleanliness of the grounds and the bathrooms make it worth a visit. The drinking water was not drinkable when we visited, so definitely bring your own drinking water. The beach along the coast is so beautiful and well kept.

All of the trails and the park in general were very beautiful. There is lots to do. Trails, swimming, if you had a boat/kayak/paddle board you could do that too. You can't buy ice in the park but there are a couple stores just outside that you can buy dry wood and ice at. The whole time we were there (4 days) there was constant trouble with the bathrooms. Toilets were always overflowing as they are all flush toilets now (where we were anyways). They weren't very well maintained. They could be short staffed this time of year though. We saw lots of wildlife and beautiful views. Overall a great experience and nothing a few more staff members couldn't fix.

We recently visited Killbear Provincial Park in October, and it was a truly amazing experience! The fall colors were absolutely stunning, with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows painting the landscape. The crisp, cool air made hiking along the scenic trails refreshing, and the views of Georgian Bay were breathtaking. We were able to spot some wildlife, including deer and a few curious squirrels preparing for winter. The park was peaceful and less crowded, which made it feel like a perfect autumn escape. Whether you enjoy hiking, photography, or just soaking in the beauty of nature, Killbear in the fall is a must-visit!

It was an amazing trip with the kids. The water is shallow for miles with solid sandy bottoms, nothing unsuspecting underfoot. Lots of unique wildlife to discover and the campsites are nicely spaced from each other. The kids bikes lots with new friends. We will definitely be back we barely scratched the surface of things to discover. Note: There is no playground (slides/swings) but you won't be bothered because the beaches are so close to the sites and there are beaches everywhere so it never gets crowded. It was an amazing trip and everyone had fun. Bring walkie talkies to keep track of everyone. Lol

Nature & Parks
Grundy Lake Provincial Park, located south of Sudbury in Ontario, is a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts and families. The park offers a variety of activities such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and swimming. With four scenic hiking trails ranging from easy to moderate difficulty levels, visitors can explore the rugged rock formations of the Precambrian Shield and enjoy picturesque views of lakes and forests. The park features nine campgrounds with numerous non-hydro and hydro sites for camping enthusiasts.
This park was beautiful. Lots of little trails, lakes, and things to do. Beach was nice. Jumping rocks were a lot of fun. We will definitely make sure to visit this one again. I used the comfort station by the main beach on occasion, and it was always clean. The store across from the entrance had a great selection of items for all the things you forget.

Beautiful place friendly staff lots of beaches comfort stations to shower, right at the entrance to the parks there's a store that sells everything you might need including canoe rentals they even bring them to your site. There also a place that sells chips truck food. Sites are big and we'll kept wood is decent too but expensive at 10$ a bag. Good fishing good swimming

This park has several campsites to choose from. We chose the White Birch campsite which is conveniently located cental to all the amenities including shower/washroom, main beach, and the ampitheater. We had fun at Swan Lake Trail, a trail especially suited for beginners. Site privacy, quietness, lake access, and site quietness were superb. Would definitely come back again for more.

One of my favourite Ontario Parks! Stayed for a week this time, and had a great experience. Excellent hiking, biking, kayaking & swimming. Gut Lake is by far the most picturesque for hiking & kayaking. Easy to launch on the beach as well. Swimming was decent with nice sandy beaches, although they’re a little small, there were several options to choose from. Including Slide Rock, where you can jump off the cliffs into Gut Lake. Also very dog friendly, featuring 2 dog parks on opposite sides of the campground. Both situated on the water. The dogs loved it - the far north (700’s section) was the better of the two and less busy. Only downside, closest town featuring regular priced items is about an hour either north or south. Firewood will run you $10/bag at the park or Trading Post outside the park entrance. It’s often damp, and doesn’t burn well.

We love Grundy Lake. It shows that this park has a dedicated team of excellence. Welcoming smiling faces eager to assist you at the front gate. Well maintained and clean park. Washroom facilities are always sanitary and cleaned regularly. Showers are incredible - warm water, very clean, updates made for easier functioning. Showers are a huge sea for me, and I give them a 10/10! Campsites are impressive. Great area to kayak and swim. Looking forward to come back to this site when available again!

Very beautiful place. We just had a day use permits for weekend but still organized no waiting and not crowded area. You can have a nice and short walk around the gut lake, pretty easy trail but not with stroller.(2.5km) The swan lake trail is beautiful and calm also.(1.5km) There are clean washrooms between sites. Clean and small beaches with shower. The people who working in there are so friendly and helpful. We paid 15.50$ for whole day but definitely we will back for camping.

Absolutely beautiful park with loads to do. You can fish, hike, swim, paddle board/canoe/kayak, leave the Park and drive a minute up the road to the outpost store and cantine (which also sells ice cream!), and so much more, it seems. We personally stayed at Poplar campground and therefore spent a lot of time on Gourd Lake--mainly getting to the day use island where we fished, sunbathed, cliff jumped, and swam around. The views were stunning and getting use of an island in the middle of the lake felt like the coolest thing. The "vault" toilets were also actual flushing toilets rather than unflushable, smelly holes. The only downsides I'd have to list for this PP include the leeches, and large water "puddles" on some of the roads. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

Beautiful park with a lot of things to do: kayaking, biking, hiking and more. Campsites are close to the lakes and it is very convenient for a short walks after dinner or cozy morning coffee. Nice place to spend a weekend or a even week and not get bored. The only downside is most of the bathrooms and some of the showers were closed with no reason, even the park was almost fool. The fireplace was dig in too deep which makes it very difficult to start the fire and almost impossible to cook anything on it as the grill is too high.
