Hands-down one of the most unforgettable experience of my life! From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel completely at ease, professional, passionate, and just the right amount of crazy (in the best way). The safety briefing was clear and reassuring, and my tandem instructor was a total legend, calm, confident, and full of good energy. The jump itself? Absolutely mind-blowing. That moment when you step out of the plane and feel pure freedom, there’s nothing like it. The views were unreal, and the adrenaline rush? Next level. Even the landing was smooth! Bonus points for the epic video footage and photos, worth every penny to relive the experience (and prove to your friends you actually did it). If you’re thinking about skydiving — stop thinking and just book it. These guys are the real deal. 10/10 would jump again!
Sean B — Google review
The parachuting experience itself was a 5 out of 5 stars. My instructor was outstanding and did a great job at making feel comfortable; as comfortable as one can be when they are about to jump out of an airplane for the first time at 13,500 feet. He cracked jokes, gave clear instructions and was confident in what he was doing. Outstanding experience on that part. However, they did not indicate on their website that the ground high res photos were additional costs. On top of that, it was $30/photo or $80/for all. After paying the initial $150 for video and photos, I assumed the ground photos were included and it wasn’t until we were suited up and ready to pose, they said said they were separate and at an additional charge. That was frustrating. All photos should have been included given the cost of the package. It definitely took away from the experience.

Parachute Montreal gave us an **unforgettable skydiving experience**! The staff was welcoming and made sure we felt safe and prepared. The freefall was exhilarating, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Once the parachute opened, we could truly enjoy the peaceful glide down. The landing was smooth, wrapping up an incredible adventure. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a thrill!

Original review before the jump: At a price of $1800 for 3 people, I wasn't expecting them to force us to wait for nearly 5 hours for our turn to jump. If you're going to jump, expect to waste your time first. Review post jump: We did in fact had to wait a little over 4 hours to jump and once ready, the jump itself was super quick with very little preparation time. We ended up leaving after 5 hours in total, so I highly suggest you prepare your entire day in advance. Bring entertainment, food, etc. as it'll probably be a long wait. Some notes for my rating: - As mentioned, the wait is very painful. I'm not sure how it works, but I feel like because we chose 3x the Ultimatum package and had to have 3x cameramen accompany us, we ended up getting pushed to much later in the day? Whatever the reason is, I wish they had a better booking system. Either let us book the actual time of around when the jump will actually happen, or let us register online the day of and call us when it's 30-60 minutes before our turn, etc. Honestly if they had that kind of system, we could have a lot of fun exploring the area while we wait, but instead had to wait at their place with not much to do. If they can reach out to local businesses to partner up, we would have easily spent more money in different places while we wait. I would even pay more money to have an exclusive "express" jump - it felt like waiting in Quebec's famous "endless" ER rooms which I avoid as much as possible. - The packages themselves are a little scammy. Basically you can purchase in advance various photos/videos of your choosing, but after your jump, there's another group of photos/video that ISN'T part of any package (even the Ultimatum and most expensive one). You have to spend MORE money to get those too which is a real shame. Luckily the quality is excellent, but it's a tough pill to swallow especially as they don't mention it at all anywhere. It's of course optional, but still not fun to be told you paid a lot to get everything, but have to pay more for the "bonus". At least throw a free T-shirt in, but even that wasn't included. - There seems to be either tech issues or organization issues as sadly one of the people in my group never received her photos/videos. I've emailed and called and at the time I'm posting this, she still hasn't received them. Hopefully they're not lost, but also not fun to hear you paid for something and don't receive it. - Luckily the jump itself is fantastic. All three of us enjoyed it immensely and every staff member was very friendly and understanding. Once on the plane, they all knew exactly what they were doing and we never once felt afraid for our lives. - Do note like others have mentioned: you will probably have your ears congested and some ear pain during/after the jump, you will have difficulty breathing during the jump and the harness might dig into you and be a little painful during/after the jump. All symptoms should be gone after a couple of hours. I don't regret doing the jump at Parachute Montreal at all, but aside from preparing for jump, I would also mentally prepare for a couple logistic issues before and after the experience.

The skydive itself was phenomenal — easily one of the best experiences I’ve had, and the jump team was exceptional. Big credit to the instructors and crew for creating a safe, thrilling, and unforgettable day for our group. Unfortunately, the customer service leading up to and following the jump didn’t meet the same standard. We were given conflicting information about our $350 deposit — told in person and over the phone that it would be refunded, only to be told later it was applied to the final payment. When I followed up in good faith, I received a surprisingly defensive and dismissive tone that only deepened my frustration. That said, the reason this review isn’t lower is because of Greg, the owner. His direct follow-up was professional and empathetic. He acknowledged the internal breakdowns and committed to improving staff training. That kind of accountability goes a long way If you’re booking here, the jump will be worth it — just make sure all payment and deposit details are crystal clear in writing ahead of time.

I genuinely had one of the best weekends of my life at Parachute Montreal. I went there to complete my AFF solo skydiving course, and everything from the organization to the energy of the place was simply incredible. The entire team is exceptional. Everyone is kind, professional, supportive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The vibe is welcoming, motivating, and makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. They went above and beyond by providing me with on-site accommodation and even a car to help me get around for my tunnel training. That level of care and support made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. A massive thank you to Greg and Roxanne for being there from day one answering every question, guiding me step by step, and making me feel confident and ready. And to all the instructors, thank you for your patience, encouragement, and amazing energy in the sky and on the ground. If you’re thinking about starting your skydiving journey this is the place. Passionate people. Incredible support.

Ile des Moulins

Park
Sights & Landmarks
Popular riverfront park featuring a history museum, nature trails, picnic spots & open green space.
This historical place in Terrebonne is packed with interesting stuff! I had fun walking around this old corner of this great city. The views on the dam were great, I loved seeing the water flow fast into the river. The library was very nice and cozy, and there was a Croque-Livres, so I could bring some books home. The theatre was pretty from the outside. Activités and things include: Bike lane (Transterrebonne) Walking trail Skating ring Bathroom Library Theatre Cultural centre

We biked through here, lovely little town with a dam and breath-taking views, lots of people on paths so not easy to bike but only for a short period, nice place for a stoll and to have picnic.

Extremely beautiful place! Very nice for a walk, pixnic and enjoy the outdoors
Maria J — Google review
Any city would be so fortunate to be surrounded by what is found in the Old Terrebonne village, especially the area around the old mill. Plenty of walkable parks, benches along the waterfront areas. Come here all the time to get a good nature stretch. Update: 2023: Hopefully the pond's fountain will one day work again.

This is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon or evening! All of the signs are in French, but don’t let that discourage you if your French is not good. There are people that will be happy to translate for you and explain things written and not written. I am originally from the USA and I found this to be a quaint and beautiful little treasure that I wish more people knew about and would discover for themselves. There has been a tremendous amount of work done to restore the old buildings and re-purposed them for current generations. This place is really a piece of North American history that you won’t learn about in textbooks. I encourage anyone reading this to read up and better yet, visit for themselves. You won’t regret it!
S. F — Google review
Great park no matter what the season. Very clean with lots of benches for those who need to take rests aswell as some picnic tables. There are little signs along the path of the park that provide you with a full workout. You can usually see some ducks there are also a few interesting art structures. Overall a nice place to take a walk, and it's free.
Tanya — Google review
This was a charming little island with lots of character and variety. The park is very spacious and families were picnicking at the tables. There was a farmer’s market directly adjacent to the park, which was amazing! This is a location for lots of events throughout the summer and even fall. The “downtown” as I call it was so charming and there were lots of great restaurants to choose from, almost all of them had covered patio or outdoor seating. There is also an authentic Irish pub on the strip. In short, lots of green space and water, along with historical buildings and tours, with plenty of great options to eat and drink. The nighttime vibe is probably pretty cool here.
Kennedy — Google review
The walkway is for pedestrians only and is a great way to get from one island to the next. They are not linked by a vehicle bridge, but both islands are linked to the rest of the city by road Ponds, picnic tables, bike paths, walking trails and playground It is awesome park and amazing view I love this place.

Domaine Labranche - Sugar Shack / Orchard / Winery / Cidery

$$$$affordable
Sugar shack
Family-run sugar shack with traditional, homemade offerings, plus sleigh rides & a petting zoo.
Awesome place for a family trip to the sugar shack! Highly recommended for a traditional quebecois breakfast. This is a very old site with history dating back to first contact with the Mohawk in this area. This is located in the heart of old ktown ... This place has everything you can ask for to eat and the maple syrup is sooooooo good. Check it out and let them know jackbrown9120 sent you and win a prize 🏆 ... #spicyadventuresKTOWN. Please like this post if you enjoyed my photo post ... thanks 😊

Domaine Labranche exceeded expectations with its diverse food options catering to vegetarians and vegans alike. The family-friendly setting, complete with a playroom, small farm, and horses, makes it an excellent choice for families with children. The friendly staff adds to the positive experience. Highly recommended for an inclusive and enjoyable outing.
Luba K — Google review
As this location has a large gluten free menu, it was super interesting to go and try! Although the options are amazing, there is of course no guarantee of zero cross contamination, keep in mind if you are celiac. This is a great place to go with friends and family and the staff is very very friendly and helpful! Cozy and cute atmosphere too!
Vanessa P — Google review
I recently organized an event for our retired school administrators at Domaine Labranche. From the very beginning things went very well. My dealings with Catherine Landry were always pleasant and efficient. Everything was well organized. We were very warmly welcomed when we arrived. The food was very good and there was a lot of variety. I chose this particular sugar shack because of the extensive menu and vegetarian options for our members who are vegetarian, as well as distance from Montreal. It was about a 20-30 min drive for most of our members, which is very reasonable. The service was great; if we ran out of anything, it was quickly replaced. The cabin itself is lovely, with old French Canadian charm, and was bright and clean. We left very happy and well fed! We were even given a 10% discount at the boutique. We are hoping to organize another event in the fall for apple picking/wine tasting. I would highly recommend Catherine Landry and her team at Domaine Labranche for your next Cabane a Sucre event.
Deborah A — Google review
Domaine Labranche is one of the few Cabane à Sucres that have meals that cover most dietary restrictions. They have omni, vegetarian, vegan, Gluten-free, and lactose free. We had the vegan meal and it was delicious! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere, with a beautiful fire pit to lounge around. The one thing that would make it better for families is if there was slightly more for kids to do. Maybe an obstacle course or something. Overall loved it, and would return!
Sunflowers M — Google review
Fantastic experience. Maybe not super heavy on the educational component of how they harvest the sap. But boiling room was neat, and there is strip pulling on the snow. Great for groups, large or small. Vegetarian food was delicious. Small gift shop sells syrup and wine from the property. Small petting zoo/barn and playground for younger children. Driveway is gravel / dirt, so be prepared for mud. Had a great time!

Was very glad to find a vegan menu at the Sugar Shack. It’s too bad they don’t have traditional bacon, sausages and ham, but vegan !!! The scrambled tofu and beans were very good tho. Loved the pea soup too:)
Rachel T — Google review
I decided to come here this year as they are one of the few places where a vegan option is available (thank you so much 🙏) It's a nice place, sugar shack "feeling", but like a lot of places in Quebec, they have a mini farm and personally, I don't like it. Marinated cauliflower and beet salad were super good! Not too sour, not too sweet. We didn't receive our fruit ketchup, but got it when asked. The pea soup was yummy, well seasoned. For the main dish, potatoes were ok, baked beans also ok, The scrambled tofu was a deception. It was weird, watery and bland. To compensate, the dessert, omg! The maple syrup "grand-père", absolutely delicious!!! A huge win! Last year I went to Cabane a Tuque and comparing both, this place deserves a Michelin star haha and it costed me 35% less than the terrible experience I had in 2022. So if you are going to Cabana a tuque, consider this place ;)

Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal is a grand Catholic church located on the south side of Montreal's namesake mountain. It features a magnificent dome, an art museum, beautiful gardens, and organ concerts. The basilica has a rich history dating back to 1904 when a small chapel was built by Andre Bessette, known for his miracle cures attributed to Saint Joseph.
Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal is a truly breathtaking and spiritual place to visit. The architecture is stunning, with its majestic dome visible from all around Montreal, and the interior is peaceful, welcoming, and filled with history. The gardens and surrounding grounds are beautifully maintained, offering a perfect place for reflection and quiet walks. Whether you visit for faith, culture, or simply to admire the beauty, this site is a must-see landmark in Montreal. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city!
Negaresh N — Google review
A must-visit if you are spending a weekend in Montreal! This is the largest oratory in Canada, and the sunset views from here are absolutely mesmerizing. The new infrastructure is very thoughtfully designed, with lifts and escalators that make it accessible for seniors and people with disabilities. Don’t miss exploring the chambers below the main hall or the serene garden behind the dome and the best part is, it’s completely free to visit. Oh and the gift shop has one of the best variety of religious souvenirs with reasonable price
Onurag — Google review
Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal is truly one of Montreal’s most magnificent and peaceful landmarks. Whether you’re visiting for spiritual reasons, architectural beauty, or simply to enjoy the panoramic view of the city, this place never disappoints. The architecture is breathtaking, combining grandeur and serenity in a way that instantly captures your attention. Inside, the main basilica is vast, calm, and filled with light, and the smaller chapels offer a more intimate and reflective atmosphere. Even if you’re not religious, you can feel the sense of peace and devotion that fills the space. The view from the top of Mount Royal is stunning, especially at sunset—you can see much of Montreal’s skyline and beyond. The gardens and surrounding grounds are beautifully maintained, perfect for a quiet walk or just sitting and taking in the view. There’s also a museum and a small gift shop that are worth visiting, and the staff and volunteers are kind and welcoming. The climb up the steps is symbolic for many visitors, and even if you just go halfway, it’s a meaningful experience. Overall, the Oratory is a must-see attraction in Montreal—a place that combines spirituality, history, and natural beauty in a way that stays with you long after your visit.
H&M — Google review
A place of many miracles, and a miracle indeed if you make it up the numerous stairs before finally reaching the front door! Saint Brother Andrew, the founder, really had our cardiovascular health at hearth when building the sanctuary. Nowadays known across the world, people of all faiths are welcome at the catholic shrine. It seems miraculous healing by the mighty angels and the great architect in the sky operates without discrimination. At first humbling by its size and location on the Mount-Royal, the Oratory is nonetheless a place of calm and serenity, to the point where you might hear thoughts flying around. For some a manifestation from the above, for others simply a wise architectural setting. You may come to your own conclusions while looking at the many orthoses hanging on the wall, left there by those healed graciously by ethereal manifestations, according to the legend. Close by, the heart of the Saint is kept in a room where worshippers may pay respect to the great man. Elegantly, His upper chapel (The Basilique) was built on Renaissance trends, although there are noticeable art-deco lines. As for the lower chapel, it is significantly set as a classic catholic church. Do look at the massive organ at the back of the upper chapel, it is really something, and especially great at listening to if someone is playing during mass. A walk outside and around the Oratory is interesting, might you wish to enjoy a sunset and the breeze from the balcony terraces or a stroll on the Chemin de la croix (Way of sorrows), and for sure don’t miss the original chapel the Saint build and lived in before the might of the Oratory was just barely a thought. May peace be conferred upon you all, and cheers!
Stephan O — Google review
The architecture left me absolutely awestruck! Every detail of St. Joseph’s Oratory radiates peace, devotion, and grandeur. The sweeping views, the stunning basilica, and the calm, spiritual atmosphere make it a truly breathtaking place to visit. Whether you go for prayer, reflection, or simply to admire its beauty, this place leaves a lasting impression on the heart.
Valora D — Google review
We didn’t know what to expect when people told us about this church - impressive. Another example of what humans can do together. Is a must when you visit Montreal, with an impressive architecture and presence. The church is modern inside and I liked the light passing the windows. Allocate around 90 min to visit all floors and enjoy the spiritual moment and the view

The Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal (L'Oratoire Saint-Joseph-du-Mont-Royal) is an extremely prominent and impressive religious landmark, making it one of the most important tourist attractions in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is Canada's largest church and a National Shrine. The church features one of the world's largest church domes, rising 97 meters (from the basilica floor) and standing as the highest point in Montreal. The shrine was founded in 1904 by Saint André Bessette (or Brother André)—a member of the Congregation of the Holy Cross. Brother André started the sanctuary with a small wooden chapel. Thanks to his reputation for healing (which he always attributed to Saint Joseph), the site attracted huge numbers of pilgrims. The large complex seen today began construction in 1922 and was completed in 1967.

An impressive basilica where you can easily spend at least half an hour to an hour. There’s no entrance fee, and the interior holds many fascinating stories to explore. It’s also a great spot to enjoy the sunset. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Montreal!

Nature & Parks
Mount Royal Park is a vast green space that offers a variety of attractions. It features scenic trails, a picturesque lake with boat rentals, and stunning panoramic views of the city. The park spans 185 acres and is larger than the Montreal Botanical Garden, housing an impressive collection of over 22,000 plant species and cultivars organized into thematic gardens and exhibition greenhouses.
Snow tubing at Mount Royal near Beaver Lake is an exhilarating adventure that guarantees a day packed with fun and thrills! As you race down the snowy slopes, the adrenaline rush and contagious laughter make it an experience to remember. With well-maintained runs, the activity is perfect for all ages—adventurous enough for thrill-seekers but safe and enjoyable for kids and families too. Beyond the slopes, the venue offers even more winter excitement with ice skating and skiing, and rentals are conveniently available. After working up an appetite, the on-site cafeteria is the perfect spot to refuel with delicious sandwiches, fresh bagels, and steaming hot coffee, adding a cozy touch to your adventurous day. The scenic beauty of Mount Royal in winter, combined with the reasonable prices, makes this an unbeatable choice for a day of outdoor fun. Highly recommended for anyone looking to make the most of the season!

It was my first experience with American-style parks, and it was truly unique compared to what we have in Europe. So spacious! The open landscapes and natural beauty make it a perfect spot to relax between sightseeing. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll, enjoying a picnic, or simply soaking in the stunning city views, Mount Royal Park is a must-visit in Montreal!

Absolutely stunning! The park is beautiful and has such a peaceful, relaxing vibe. It’s the perfect spot to read a book, enjoy a picnic, or simply take a walk and soak in the natural surroundings. I highly recommend it! Update: I visited today (December 21) and it was beyond gorgeous! The park was blanketed in snow, creating a true winter wonderland. There’s an ice skating rink with an incredible view of the frozen lake right in front of it. There’s also a cozy building with a restaurant on the second floor, perfect for grabbing a snack or hot drink during your skating break. On the first floor, you’ll find lockers for your things and a small shop where you can rent skates. Plus, there’s a great spot near the rink for tobogganing, and it’s totally free (bring your own toboggan though). I can’t recommend this place enough, no matter the season!

Took my dog out for a walk and we were searching for a patch of grass in Montreal downtown and ended up on top of Mount Royal. It was so beautiful. Totally an unplanned hike. Thankfully carried my dog’s water bottle as always. Please carry a bottle of water if you plan to hike this. We went up via the hiking trail pathway and came down via the steps. I think that would be the easiest way to do as you might get tired going all the way up, checking all the points and then you simply have to come down via the steps. Thanks to Google map, I was able to check out every noteworthy view point on top of the mountain. I heard there is one more side to it. Perhaps, another time. Overall it was very clean and gorgeous and Montreal is lucky to have this downtown! I mean those who live there could jog here or hike everyday! There seemed to be a place on top with coffee shop and restrooms but I believe they didn’t allow dogs so we couldn’t enter. Wish Montreal as such was more dog friendly.

A great hike and a wonderful lookout! I’m not sure if I went to a different part but everyone is talking about stairs in the reviews and I didn’t encounter a single one to get to the lookout located at the chalet on the map. It’s stunning and feels like you’re far away from the city on the trail. The park is beautiful and has some cool sculptures.
Tiffany B — Google review
Really pretty in the winter, snow covered and all! Seems to be an incredibly popular spot for families. It was around -10° when I visited, but the park was packed with families skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, etc. Fun for all ages! I did try snow tubing, but after climbing up the steps, I was absolutely exhausted. I did fall off the tube once, and the gentleman overseeing the lanes was an absolute gentleman. He helped me up and got me out safely and quickly - in multiple languages. Would love to come back to explore some more, in a time crunch, I was only able to see a couple of landmarks.

Our visit to Mount Royal Park was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we started our walk up the mountain, we were captivated by the natural beauty surrounding us. It took just about 5-10 minutes to reach the scenic overlook, and the panoramic view of the entire city was absolutely breathtaking—definitely worth the short hike. After soaking in the views, we continued our adventure to the lake on the opposite side of the mountain, which was another pleasant 10-15 minute walk. The lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere made the journey enjoyable. Once we reached the lake, we decided to rent a paddle boat, which was such a fun and relaxing experience. For just 22 CAD, we spent a delightful 30 minutes on the water, enjoying the serene environment and the company of each other. The entire experience was both beautiful and refreshing, offering a perfect blend of nature and recreation. Whether you’re looking to take in stunning city views, enjoy a peaceful walk, or have some fun on the water, Mount Royal Park is the place to be. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Montreal!

Museums
Nestled in the heart of Montreal, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts stands as a testament to artistic expression and cultural heritage. Established in 1860, it proudly holds the title of Canada’s oldest art museum and is a prominent institution in North America. The museum boasts an impressive collection that spans over 41,000 pieces from various eras and regions, showcasing everything from ancient artifacts to contemporary masterpieces.
If you’re under 25, you get in for free! I only discovered this a month before my birthday—better late than never, right? Maybe someone else will appreciate the heads-up 🤭 One thing I love about this museum is how many quiet corners there are where you can soak in the city views. I come here not just for the art, but to let it inspire me — along with the beautiful panoramas. There’s something about this place that feeds both the mind and the soul.

Huge gallery with multiple buildings and rooms within them . A fantastic range of artistic styles, blending modern and contemporary with older pieces, often making connections stylistically between them. New design wing particularly good at this imo. You need hours to see it all.

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) is a truly wonderful experience and easily one of the best places to spend a full day in the city. Since it’s spread across five pavilions, it feels massive without being overwhelming, offering something for every taste—from Canadian masterworks to international contemporary pieces, plus stunning decorative arts. The entire complex is beautiful, blending historic Beaux-Arts architecture with sleek modern extensions, and the collection is so diverse you can dive deep into anything from Rodin to Inuit art. You could easily lose three to four hours wandering through the themed pavilions, finding quiet corners to enjoy the amazing curation. It's an inspiring and enriching way to spend your time in Montreal!

Extensive and varied collection across two main buildings connected by underground passageway. Current featured exhibit by Kent Monkman is a must-see. Expensive admission ($31) but no extra charge for special exhibits. Good accessibility. Highly recommended.

The museum is absolutely stunning. The architecture alone is worth the visit - the buildings are beautiful, blending historic charm with modern design. The collections are diverse and thoughtful curated with something for everyone. It’s a place where you can easily spend hours exploring. Definitely a must see if you’re in Montreal - whether you’re an art lover or just looking for a meaningful and inspiring experience.

On the first Sunday of every month, admission is free. Online booking allows for quick entry. Most of the exhibits are from collectors' collections, with rich content but themes that are not very unified. When I went, I saw works by Picasso, Monet, Miró, Rodin, and others, but not many. The museum's architecture and scenery are beautiful.

We visited the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts while on a girls trip and highly recommend adding it to your itinerary! We loved the exhibits and the art was beautiful. It was a wonderful way to spend the morning in Montreal.

So many different levels and exhibits. Beautiful variety and so much to do make sure to alot yourself lots of time and breaks. There is something for every form of art lover and pieces to tickle your senses and emotions. So lovely that they have NO fee for those under 25 🫶🏼❤️ Amazing to support the arts In young minds. Bonus complementary coat check .My only critique would be that signage or flow be easier to navigate between buildings and levels for (English)

Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
Gardens
Montreal Botanical Garden is a significant landmark and tourist attraction in Montreal, covering approximately 75 hectares. It is one of the largest botanical gardens globally and was designated as a national historical site in Canada in 2008. The garden features various themed areas such as the Alpine Park, Japanese Garden, Chinese Garden, and First Nations Park. With over 22,000 plant and animal species, it draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
Jardin botanique de Montréal is a wonderful escape right in the middle of the city — it truly feels like stepping into nature without leaving Montreal. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with a mix of themed areas that are both relaxing and educational. Whether you’re strolling through lush greenery, admiring the flowers, or just sitting quietly by the water, it’s a peaceful retreat from the city rush. There’s also a small café on site with water and drink options, which comes in handy if you’re spending more time here. Plenty of parking space available, with a flat rate (we paid around CAD 14), but this place is also easily accessible via public transport. Depending on your stamina and interest, you can enjoy a quick one-hour visit or easily spend an entire day exploring. Overall, a must-see for anyone who loves nature, photography, or simply wants a calming break in a picturesque setting.

Had a bit of extra time one morning on a recent first visit to the wonderful city of Montreal. I discovered that it boasted a botanical garden (one of my favorite things since visiting Australia where every major city seems to have one); even though there was a modest fee for entering, I decided to take the short metro ride to visit. Great decision! Whether the Chinese Garden (probably the most impressive area), the Japanese Garden, or the Alpine Garden, or any of the gorgeous “generic” vistas in abundance there, beautiful nature, sometimes carefully arranged, other times not, washed over me like a cool breeze. I walked my legs off but the sore feet and legs at the end of the day were worth the effort. Such a lovely place that cannot be missed. And make sure you stop by the cafe there. Not pedestrian burgers and fries but well-crafted sandwiches and delicious soup among other choices. I had a lovely vegetable sandwich on focaccia and a cauliflower and beetroot soup which was heavenly. Plus you get a great view of the Olympic Stadium while you’re there. Go! You’ll thank me for it.
Pete F — Google review
My wife and I visited the Jardin botanique de Montréal during our trip, and we absolutely loved it. The gardens are stunning, you can tell how much care and attention goes into maintaining the place. There’s so much to see, from colorful flower beds to themed gardens. The Chinese and Japanese gardens were the highlights for us, both are so peaceful and beautifully designed. Be prepared to do quite a bit of walking, though. The place is large, and it’s easy to lose track of time while exploring. We spent about half a day there but could have easily spent a full day if we weren’t on a tight schedule. Unfortunately, we missed the Garden of Lights in the evening, which I’ve heard is amazing. If you love nature, photography, or just want a relaxing day surrounded by greenery, this is a great place to visit. I’d actually recommend setting aside two days if you can, since there are other attractions nearby and it’s nice not to rush. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful experience that’s definitely worth it.

We got ticket to see Jardin des lumierd show and those tickets give us access during the day too. In one day we visit two times the Botanical garden. The garden is organized in different areas and you have Japanese garden, Chinese Garden , alpine garden etc. Great walk and great view - flowers , nature and nice design of the garden. You need around 2 hours to make the tour. For Night tour the show was excellent with lights , music and spectacular moments on Japanese garden and Chinese one. The lampions in Chinese garden are well designed and provide a deep dive on Chinese culture. If you can go for it - depending of season think about hot cloths for the night session.

Absolutely loved visiting Jardin botanique de Montréal! 🌸 The gardens are breathtaking…..especially the Japanese and Chinese gardens. Everything is so peaceful and beautifully maintained. It’s the perfect place to relax, take photos, and enjoy nature. A must-visit spot in Montréal for sure! 🌿

Beautiful garden, amazing experience with the garden of lights exhibition. I was never much of a fan of botanical gardens but this one was absolutely magical and the whole area is just gorgeous, a great photo spot and a nice walk around with interesting exhibits. We can right around sundown, which was absolutely lovely and stayed until the lightshow started, then it got too crowded, hence I would recommend coming sooner, if possible.
Suza — Google review
What a BEAUTIFUL place! Natural settings abound here! Peaceful oasis in the city of Montreal! Words are not adequate to describe what this place holds. Try weekday visits if possible; also the botanical sculpture of Mother Nature is no longer present for a long time now..., years... so do not base your visit on that! Worthy to be placed on a trip itinerary for Montreal.
Stephen S — Google review
An extraordinary world class botanical garden including a series of interconnected greenhouses covering multiple sensitive zones and outdoor gardens sectioned into specialized gardens many with special features such as ponds, buildings, gazebos and arbours. My particular favorites included the indigenous garden, alpine, and medicinal and food gardens. Other cultural gardens such as China and Japan easily stand on their own and are worth exploring for hours at a time. Rather than rushing, plan two days to visit if possible, or return often. Also keep an eye open for the night displays of lights that occur on certain occasions. And take time to visit the vegetarian friendly restaurant on site. Easily accessible by public transit and ample parking on site.

Sights & Landmarks
Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, dating back to 1824, is a magnificent church renowned for its vibrant stained glass and as a venue for concert performances. The neo-Gothic interiors have been transformed into a 21st-century digital spectacle through the Aura show by Moment Factory. This multimedia studio has projected colorful rays and images onto the arches, columns, altar, and vaulted ceiling, creating an awe-inspiring experience.
Unforgettable Experience at Montreal Notre-Dame Basilica. Even if you're not religious, the AURA light show at Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica is absolutely worth seeing. The basilica itself is stunning, with its deep blue ceiling and intricate Gothic architecture. But the real highlight is the AURA show—an immersive blend of music, lights, and storytelling that brings the space to life. The story is easy to follow and beautifully presented. Outside, the square is full of energy with street performers and local charm. Inside, it’s pure magic. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Montreal!
Gabriel — Google review
Visiting the Notre-Dame Basilica in Old Montreal was already high on our list, but the AURA light show elevated the experience into something truly unforgettable. From the moment we stepped inside, the neo-Gothic architecture wrapped us in a sense of awe—towering columns, intricate woodwork, and stained glass that seemed to whisper centuries of history. Then came AURA. The show begins with a self-guided walk through the Basilica, where subtle lighting and ambient sound bring the art and architecture to life. It’s like the building itself is breathing. And then, the main event: a 20-minute multimedia spectacle that transforms the Basilica’s interior into a canvas of light, color, and sound. The projections danced across the vaulted ceilings and ornate altar, synchronized perfectly with a dramatic musical score. At times, it felt like we were inside a living painting—one moment evoking the serenity of nature, the next pulsing with cosmic energy. The use of lasers and animation was tasteful and powerful, never overwhelming, and always respectful of the sacred space. 🎶 The Casavant organ’s deep tones added a majestic layer to the experience, and the transitions between scenes were seamless. Whether you're spiritual or simply appreciate art and architecture, AURA is a must-see. It’s not just a show—it’s a celebration of light, history, and imagination. Highly recommend catching an evening performance to feel the full impact. We left with goosebumps and a renewed appreciation for how technology can enhance—not replace—human creativity.
S B — Google review
While the advertisements for the AURA experience are stunning, it holds no candle in comparison to sitting in one of the pews. The AURA show tells a story, and it is beautifully captured within the walls of the Notre-Dame. Seating is based on first to enter, so if you wish to sit closer, show up early to wait in line outside. There really isn't a bad seat if you can manage to get in a center pew. If you arrive closer to the starting time, you will likely be disappointed in your seats as it isn't ideal and you are further left or right. Some of the pews are sectioned off as you won't be able to see anything due to pillars and structures blocking the main focal point. Once the show starts, photographs and videos are prohibited, and I can completely understand why. It gets very dark around the floor and pews, so any light from phones can become a major distraction and potentially ruin the experience. They also have the option for you to light a candle in memory of a loved one. It completely adds to the experience and provides a level of comfort that makes everything even more special. They had four-day candles that were approximately ten dollars, while the LEDs cost two dollars and only last for the duration of your stay. The show itself lasts about a half an hour; I was slightly confused on the Fever website when purchasing tickets we it said the duration was three hours. Regardless of the time it takes, every minute was worth it. This experience offers up some stunning imagery in tandem with holistic audio. It's an incredible, spiritual experience and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Montréal who has the opportunity to do so - religious or not.

It is not big and will not take much time to check out all unless you want to pray. I did not see the light show though, but its stunning architecture, intricate interior design, and historical significance amazed me. With the interior along with seeing people talk in low voices, made it feel like a sacred place to sit and think quietly. For me, it is one of the most amazing experiences one can have.
Zahida I — Google review
It was our first experience attending an aura show in a church, and it was truly wonderful. The church is huge, very old, and beautifully maintained. Even though the place was full for the show, the well-organized staff made everything easy and comfortable. The show lasted about 25 minutes, which felt just right. The sound system and lighting were of excellent quality, creating a perfect atmosphere for the performance. Note that photos and videos are not allowed during the show. Parking can be a bit tricky, so it’s best to find a paid parking spot nearby and arrive early to get a good seat in the middle section. Overall, a great experience and definitely recommended!

The Basilica is beautiful. We went for the evening light show and were a little disappointed. Again, beautiful building but the show was just ok. I think we would have both been happier just seeing the architecture and details and hearing the history of the building. The show just didn't seem to have a theme, one part may have depicted the change of the seasons but that was about it. I wouldn't see the show again but would love to walk through the Basilica during the day.
Ryan M — Google review
Wonderful place to visit and be still with God. Make sure you plan an hour to view all the displays. Recommend to get a guide or rent the audio guide that explains all the key displays. The small chapel behind the main sanctuary is nice to visit as well. Overall I don't think you will be disappointed if you are into catholic and Christian religion.
SSIU — Google review
It was a wonderful experience visiting this church. It made me feel truly amazed. Learning about its history made it even more meaningful. Although part of the building is under renovation, every corner of the church is full of beautiful and intricate details. Even though there were a lot of people inside, most were very respectful. However, I did notice one or two people trying to take photos inside the prayer room, which was disappointing. I think it would be helpful if someone could guide visitors near the prayer area to remind them to be quiet and respectful. After I finished praying, people continued to take photos and talk, which made me feel a bit upset. Overall, it was an incredible experience to visit such a stunning and historic building in Montreal. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Beautiful space, swinging benches! A kids park with an ice-cream shop down the street! There is a public restroom at the entrance and a decent sized parking lot. Surrounded by nature, the walking path is very peaceful and very beautiful! We even noticed what looked like a possible venue area to rent for special occasions , panoramic views don’t be park and the river. Something I’d be considering in the future! A park for all ages to enjoy!

Although this large space is not as picturesque as one would expect, it still is most inviting. Mostly by the waterfront area, a good breather and stretch can be taken here without bumping into each other. Unfortunately the water views are a little obstructed. Those with pets are well served here. Children have plenty of play areas as well. Tons of free parking and toilet as well.

Nice park to stroll around. The parking on the other hand is really tight and narrow with only one way in. When busy you certainly will get stuck there with no way of backing up or moving forward. Other than that nice grounds and view of the river. The red Adirondack chairs are a nice touch

Very nice park to go to, spacious, but a lot of people though when it's beautiful weather. We have gone for walks here and rode our bikes, both of which have been good experiences. I do recommend though more trees to be planted. It is nice to have spacious view of everything, but without trees along the walking paths makes for intense heat on hot days. On hot days, I recommend to wear a hat to have some coverage from the sun. People are very friendly here, and park is close to a great Ice Cream shop next to parking lot. 👍

Zoo with many attractions such as an area for viewing animals from cars, a water park & shows.
A very good place to spend family time. Their access is easy. They have good things like face painting, live music, swings and water fun rides. They have good sitting space. Best part is separate pool area for kids under 7. They have 3 pools including kids pool and very good place to spend the entire day. You have a change to see lion, tigers, cheetah and other African animals like zebra, elephants and other African animals. Safari is enjoyable where you can see the animals in the open.

Parc Safari is an excellent option for families. The experience of coming into contact with animals is spectacular. You can feed and pet them from your car. Although I didn't go into that area, there is a water park for children. Unfortunately, the lion area was closed.
Yulio J — Google review
Having the opportunity to visit the park in Canada on my son's first birthday was a truly memorable experience. It was a wonderful combination of his two favorite things: animals and water. This visit was a great blessing for our son and our entire family. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive to our needs. I wholeheartedly recommend this park to everyone, and I am incredibly grateful to have experienced its true beauty. We were the last ones to depart that day.
Marie A — Google review
It was a nice experience. It is 15% off if you enter after 14h but it closes at 17h. I think is better to visit it during the summer because they have a lot of water play infrastructures. The animals was diverse but not to many (especially the carnivores). I like it as an experience. I recomand it! I uploaded few of the animals, you can see more when you enter by car.
Jullyann C — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Parc Safari is a nice place to visit and see some animals, but honestly, it is quite pricey for what you get. The experience is fun, especially for families, but I feel the value could be better. I bought our tickets online because I didn’t want to wait in line, and I paid the regular price since I knew we’d be arriving around 12:30. Unfortunately, there was a big accident on the way, and we ended up stuck in traffic for 2 hours. We only arrived around 14:00. Here’s the issue: Parc Safari offers 15% off tickets for customers who arrive after 14:00. Since I had purchased 4 tickets online, I asked if they could refund me the difference (almost $55) because we had less time to enjoy the park and clearly qualified for that discount. But they refused, saying because I purchased online, they couldn’t adjust the price. I don’t think that’s fair at all, considering it wasn’t my fault we arrived later. Also, buying tickets online doesn’t even save you time at the entrance—there’s no special line for online buyers, so you’ll wait either way. My recommendation: never buy your tickets online. If something unexpected happens, you’ll lose money, and you also miss out on possible discounts. The park itself is enjoyable, and we did still have a good time, but because of the price and the unfair ticket policy, I can only give 4 stars.
Elizabeth P — Google review
Fun interesting lots of walking. Animals were just chilling not much action. Sadly some animals were not available and half the water park was not open. Very tiring experience drive from Ottawa and spent entire day there. Still amazing place. Will try again next year.

Not much to do during winter, no animals Just visited it in the end of August, it was +13 and raining but we still saw everything. Really good place to visit with small kids during July-August. They also have waterslides and ice-cream. There is little beach with chairs and slides, tubes and swimming pools. Really nice place. Any malls have big enclosures and look clean and healthy. Volunteer told us about hawk from South America, she was very nice and knowledgeable, thank you. Really good place, looking forward to future visits.

I had a great time here. I had no real knowledge about Chambly before coming, but I love learning about history, so I wanted to check it out. I can say that I left with a full understanding of the history of this beautiful fort, and a renewed respect for the people who lived here and built it.

Lovely place. Nice for the whole family. Plenty of space to do a picnic, to play, dogs are allowed. You can see the sunset there. There is one entrance to the river where you can sit on a rock and put your feet into the fresh water. There are picnic tables. There are some bathrooms and water fountains. Some people fish, but I'm not sure it is allowed. You can visit the historic building. The parking is limited and free, but I have never been forced to park outside. It is 5 min away from the restaurants and ice cream places. Nice place to take tourists. 👌

Nice fort which was rebuilt based on the relics found from the original. Free entrance. There are also great explanations from staff of soldiers' life in the colonial time. Our usual cheese spot was closed on a given Sunday and we absolutely wanted cheese ! So we googled “fromageries” in the area and got this place! Wow, amazing attention, they took the time to explain the various types of cheeses and other delicacies. They have an amazing small cheese platter with toast and tables outside for you to enjoy on the spot! We’ll definitely be back, we’re happy to have another great cheese spot near home ! Oh and a great place to check out the birds and animals

We visited on our way to the montgolfier festival. We grabbed a platter to taste all of the cheeses they provide and bought a bag as well. They have many fun local produces and shaded seats outside so you can sit and enjoy on the spot. We drove to Saint Jean nearby to have a picnic. We also took extra orders of the Monnoir (most aged cheese). D'Iberville, Monnoir and the cheese named after the fromagerie were my favorites. It was very pleasant to see the cows and kitties. Absolutely delicious and beautiful place! Visit if you ever have a chance!

If you’re a cheese lover, you must stop by here and order a platter of a few of their cheeses to try. It is super fresh as the cows are just out back and make the cheese at the same spot. There are spots to also outside such as picnic tables but there were so many flies that we didn’t enjoy the experience as much. But definitely worth a visit even if it’s for the cows!

Gault Nature Reserve of McGill University

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Wildlife research area with ponds, beehives & nature trails on a densely wooded mountainside.
We enjoyed the place- calm, quiet, serene. The noise you make is the only sound you hear! Else it is all quiet. Except for the sounds of nature. We went when the leaves had fallen. Was wondering how colourful this place would be in autumn. Will have to come back next year to witness the colours. One review mentioned the tickets have to be purchased ahead, online. That was a very useful advice which I reiterate.
Yusuf Z — Google review
The ticket should be purchased online before enter. So its better to buy the ticket in advance before you visit. But there is a parking spot in front to stop buying from online. There are parking provided. The place is calm, good trails to hike to the point of view. Calm and beautiful.
Sammy — Google review
Went on a Saturday and bought tickets in advance. Make sure you get tickets online prior because I’ve been before when the tickets are sold out and you aren’t allowed to enter. We did the pain de sucre trail and it was an moderate trail with the highest elevation. The lake and peak were both beautiful with the autumn leaves.
Vanessa T — Google review
Great park for hiking. The view at the top of Rocky trail is beautiful and worth it. Before you go, purchase your tickets online. This park gets full and you may not be able to get in. Big parking lot. There is one area that has bathrooms. Once you start hiking there are no bathrooms. The Rocky trail was challenging. Pretty steep with uneven terrain. That being said, people jogged past us. I loved the trail and cannot wait to go back. There is a beautiful canopy of trees so that we didn’t even feel the rain that was falling. There are many other trails to try that are less challenging.

Beautiful and safe place for hiking and walking and even picnic. All the paths are well marked. Several trails from easy to medium hike .welcomed place with clean bathroom and information on the site.

Amazing place to hike and Chill! You need to purchase tickets before(around $9). Easy to moderate hike! Amazing view on the top! Also, there is a beautiful lake which you can chill after your hike! No swimming or BBQ are allowed.
Mohsen A — Google review
The yellow trail with a beautiful view is really very good, although this path was not easy. And the orange trail was disappointing, we saw nothing but trees and plants

Buy tickets online. They do not let you buy tickets at the entrance. They open at 9 AM.

Really cool place they make the bird fly over you and talk about them the essentials of what they eat where they are from great species are shown the price is also good 15$ for adult. It was nice to se the birds so close.

Loved this sanctuary! Great friendly staff and volunteers. Spent a fun and educational day getting to know all about the birds of prey. Enjoyed getting to see these beautiful creatures up close. They do wonderful work hete. Don't go to zoos. These are the places we should be supporting.
CinnamonGirl — Google review
What great work these people do! We saw a great program with a few birds that they had saved but were unable to release due to injuries. Then we were privileged to be there when they returned 2 birds to the wild. The demonstration lasted over an hour! Unfortunately, it was all in French. However, there are some very informative signs in English about the birds on dog friendly trails.

We had the most amazing time at the park today, seeing the beautiful birds up close. The lovely staff went out of their way to explain everything in english. But not only did we enjoy the birds, the forest and fields around the paths were really amazing to. Thank you so much guys!

Beautiful winery with lovely scenery. Their wines never disappoint and the restaurant has a wonderful menu. Everything is good. The terrasse is beautiful, especially when the vines start growing in. A must try for anyone that is a wine lover.

Very beautiful and calm place the win tasting was amazing staff were really helpful
Jad N — Google review
Wine tasting explanation is less friendly than other wineries we’ve tried. I think because they are a bit lack of staff, so the place was a bit busy. It looks like they just finished doing renovation and seems like a good upgrade. The view and the room here is amazing.
Yiting H — Google review
We stopped in while visiting family. It's a really nice looking place. Interesting local history pictures & stories inside on the walls. We learned some things. We did not try the wines as we had to get going. Maybe another time.

The place is beautiful. The people is so friendly. The tour is very good. The taste was amazing. The food in the restaurant was excellent. In brief, I would recommend to live this experience at least once.
Desirée L — Google review
Nothing changed. Same taste, same quality. It’s a good place to have a rest with a glass of wine. And the wine btw, is very soft.
Alexandru C — Google review
The recommended vineyard in Quebec. Tried ones in Ontario and other European ones. This one is not tasting at the COVID. So bought the $28 most expensive bottle of Chardonnay for a try. Announced by the salespersons that it won the medal over blind taste. The wine was also put in the American oak barrel according to the salesperson. They say the wine is chilled well for opening and tasting outside. When it is opened, they used the screw that doesn’t hurt the cork, but the temperature of the wine bottle is not satisfactory. The taste is hmm, spice, wax and a bit smoky, worse than any bottle even in Costco. I wanna enrich my knowledge in wine medals here, so I went online according to the photo I took at the shelf. Look carefully, the medal has 2020 and 2018 on it, the bottle is 2019. Not even the medal has nothing to do with the bottle, the website has not mentioned this bottle in none of these years. This is cheating that I don’t like.

The ciders and wine were great, the lady serving us was warm and friendly, and the outdoor seating next to the vines was picturesque and peaceful. Prices were very reasonable for such good, local products. Pay an extra $5 and you get to taste at their partner winery across the atreet. Deal! Thanks!

Awesome cider and winery. We came in with a ferry large group and the staff was wonderfully accommodating to seat us all together and help us out with our tastings. Our server was smiling, laughing and very friendly. Our group had a great time and some took some bottles home with them. Highly recommend!!

UNION LIBRE Cidre & Vin is a great place to stop for a sample of great ciders and wines. Eric, the owner, was very polite and helpful. I bought two very good cider aperitifs! The Cider Aperitif is fantastic! Made from a fire cider fortified with apple brandy. Complex and authentic, it offers a nose of ripe apples that evolves into hints of honey and candied fruit. Stop by and give them a try!
Kevin G — Google review
While we enjoyed the wines, they were served warm and in plastic glasses in a 4 choice "flight" for $12. We selected a white, a rosée and 2 aperitif wines. I wish they had been chilled. I have visited many wineries in the area and felt the service was less than I had hoped for. We made our selection and were asked to go outside where they would bring it to us. We both felt that this was not the usual tasting experience but the wines would have been better chilled.
Jennifer I — Google review
Ciders were absolutely delicious, which says a lot considering I'm not a huge cider fan. It was pretty busy when we were there but the owner really took his time to explain their approach/process. Going to be buying a case!

Zoo de Granby

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
The Zoo de Granby is a renowned zoological garden in Quebec, boasting over 1,300 animals from 225 exotic species. Visitors can explore trails that lead to different continents and observe elephants, giraffes, gorillas, and tigers. The zoo offers about 20 presentations by zookeepers and educators. Additionally, guests can enjoy thrill rides and an Amazon-themed water park.
Had a great time here on a family visit. There's lots of animals to see - the elephants and snow leopards were a personal favourite of mine. The picnic area was nice, and was nice and shaded as well. This is a great place for kids because there's lots for them to see and there's different things setup for the kids to play on along the way. It's a good way to keep the kids entertained! I would definitely come back!
Victoria B — Google review
Granby zoo is a nice place to take the family out for some fun discovering the animals, enjoying rides at the amusement park and water park sections. If you plan on doing everything that the zoo offers it is best to go early. The time I went there, traffic just to get in the park lot was crazy. It's probably best to park at the P1 zoo or P2 zoo parking lots and then take the shuttle to the zoo, its a long wait for the main zoo parking lot, I parked on the street. Entry fee for the zoo is expensive for a family of 4 depending on the children's age can cost $200 around. As usual when you go to the zoo the animals love to be away from the sun, hiding somewhere in the shade (not at animals). Overall good experience. Didn't go to the amusement park. The water park was really packed, the water temp was fine and the kids had lots of fun. The only issue i had is the parking and the crowds. Granby zoo is excellent. Buy your tickets online so u don't have to wait in line
Jonathan P — Google review
Went with my wife to Granby Zoo near Montreal on a late Sunday. The zoo is divided into different continents, which makes walking through the animal exhibits really fun. I thought it was especially cool that you can pet the goats at the petting area, a great activity for couples or families. A few of the cages were missing animals during our visit, which was a bit disappointing, but the parking lot was very easy to use and right by the entrance. The entrance fee is on the pricey side, so I’d recommend visiting in the summer when the water park is open, it really makes the day feel worth it. Overall, Granby Zoo is a fun, educational outing with lots to see, and it’s a great way to spend a full day exploring animals and exhibits.
Julian M — Google review
Pros: The zoo is an open concept, you will get to come face to face with a lot of animals without having a glass barrier and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to pet one of them! Cons: Worst zoo I’ve probably seen in my entire life. 1- Confusing map, and no signs whatsoever to tell you where you at. Just walk in and once you reach a habitat you will find a sign with which habitat. 2- Most habitats are either closed ot empty, one visit you’ll see 10% of the animals available. 3- Tickets are way too overpriced for such a zoo. I’d say 20$ is a max for such a zoo. Do not buy food there, its a rip off, one burger “patty, lettuce, tomato” trio with barely any fries and one poutine were 37$!!! 4- Animals look in a very bad condition, some of them even live in a 2x2m cubicles with limited access to nature and fake trees everywhere. 5- No surveillance whatsoever, a lot of minorities were just screaming at the animals, a lot of these animals have sensitive hearing, at least put a sign to warn others since some people feel entitled and are disrespectful to these species. There are more issues with this zoo but i just wanted to share the most important ones. It’s absolutely not recommended to visit there, go to a pet shop you will probably see more animals there! Pictures below will give an idea of the fake trees, dead ones which aren’t much cared for, and the conditions of some animals and how they are locked in tiny cubicles.
Aziz N — Google review
Was a nice place. We got there after lunch when it was hot outside so naturally the animals were mostly chilling or sleeping in the shade. The aquarium was amazing. The rays touch tank was the highlight of the zoo. Those little rats are the puppies of the ocean. Could have stayed for days loving those amazing creatures.
Craig A — Google review
Amazing place for a family outing and to help the kids get familier and closer with animals and nature. Really enjoyed our time there. Its a must to go place. They (the zoo) also have an amusement park and a water park with various rides. I took combined tickets for the zoo and amusement park. Kids really enjoyed and loved it. They are already ready to go there again next time. They also have a hotel if you are looking to stay for a night or two to enjoy all three activities. I will be going back soon. Until next time. 😊☺️ I took a lot of pictures but unable to share them all due to the privacy of my kids.

If you’re looking for a fun-filled day out with your little ones, this place is perfect. There are tons of exciting attractions and interactive areas that’ll keep the kids entertained from start to finish. Don’t forget to pack a picnic lunch and bring your swim gear - you’ll be all set to enjoy the day. And if you need a stroller or wagon, they have rentals available, so you can relax and enjoy the day without any worries.

It was truly unbelievable – an amazing lifetime memory! Thank you, thank you, thank you! September turned out to be the perfect time to visit: no lines, comfortable weather – not too hot, not too cold – and all the animals were out enjoying the sunshine. A special thank you for providing dedicated rooms for mothers to feed their little ones – such a thoughtful detail. Everything was simply wonderful, and we will definitely be coming back in a few years! Thank you once again.

Le Musée du chocolat de la confiserie Bromont

$$$$affordable
Chocolate shop
Chocolate shop & museum with an on-site eatery serving cafe fare for breakfast & lunch.
Lovely Experience, very fun, and pleasant. Did not expect it but I guess I should've expected it but it smelled like chocolate everywhere it was very soothing. Also it's simultaneously a chocolate store, but they also are a real museum with plenty of information to actually learn. It was a very enriching experience

Interesting learning about the history of chocolate and seeing the many sculptures carved out of chocolate. There is a variety of gourmet chocolates and other goodies to buy.

This shop is a must stop to explore a small chocolate exposition. You can also enjoy a good hot chocolate drink, chocolate treats and other french imported products . Service is attentive. The cost is affordable but a bit on the pricey side $$$. It is definitely a place to discover.

Super cool cafe to check out. The hot chocolate was incredibly good, and rich! Tastes like melted chocolate with milk 😋😋 The savory crepe with fruit was so delish. I would love to go back! The musee is small, quaint, yet gives a lot of information on the origin of chocolate, the history, and even countries who consume the most! The sculpture is something to see as well. Beautifully done. ❤️ They offer a service dedicated to chocolate treats, other goodies, and lovely gift ideas.

Ski Bromont

Mentioned on
1 list
Ski resort
Outdoor Activities
Ski Bromont is a fantastic destination for winter sports enthusiasts, boasting an impressive 141 trails that cater to all skill levels. Just an hour from Montreal, this ski resort offers a unique escape into nature with its expansive 450 acres of terrain. With over 100 trails illuminated for night skiing, you can enjoy the slopes well into the evening. The mountain features multiple peaks and efficient express lifts that minimize wait times, allowing you to maximize your time on the snow.
We came here last year for a taster but we were too late in getting group lessons for the kids. For this season we booked our kids group lessons well in advance with 'Bromont Ecole de Ski'. The kids group lessons are generally 2 hours, which gives us adults enough time to go and explore the ski slopes. We usually did a warm up with them on the nursery slopes which are free to access and plentiful if your little learner is just starting out. If they are more confident then Mont-Soleil runs are good for getting a few runs in before their lessons. To note, if your kids are in lessons and using the chair lifts, best getting them an Apex pass. As adults, we got Apex passes too. A big thank you to Luc, Felix and Raf for teaching our kids to ski over the 8 week block! Their confidence and ability has grown leaps and bounds by the end of it. Overall, plenty ski runs to choose from with some challenging routes and gentler ones, enough for all abilities. The slopes are well groomed and plenty space to move around. Ski/Chair lift wait times I found to be ok. On par with ski slopes I have been to in France. Amenities/restaurants are at the bottom and at the top of the slopes with a reasonable selection to choose from. There is also a shop at the bottom of the slopes, so if you forget gloves etc, you can buy a pair there. If you are starting out as a skier/snowboarder or looking to get your kids some lessons, this is a great place to start and book early!
Rob B — Google review
Great place for skiing. 6 lifts and most of them express make lines shorter and moving up to the top fast. The slopes are very well maintained. Staff is very friendly and well organized. There are many trails for the skiers of any level of abilities. We enjoyed the resort a lot and definitely planning on coming back one day.
Elena K — Google review
It's a beautiful water park. They are investing 10.6 m$ in upgrade that will be ready in 2026. However all current slides and pools are operational. It also uses the chair lifts to bring people up in the summer to experience the beautiful view! It would be a great experience in early October with the maple trees in color! They also use the chair lifts to bring up mountain bikes as there are my trails to go down onto.
Pierre J — Google review
Surprisingly great option if not all the members of your party are experienced skiers. There are enough runs for beginner to intermediate levels. Even though this is not a large ski area compared to others it was not crowded and you can ski at night which is a plus. Prices are decent and the hosts are super nice.
Roberto A — Google review
Absolutely loved our trip. Very family friendly, good set up for kids on the cusp of being independent, rides for all sizes and thrill levels. Place was clean, well organized, well supervised. Staff was friendly and approachable.

Pat A — Google review
As a Montrealer who’s been snowboarding every winter since 2014, I’ve carved my fair share of lines across Quebec’s mountains. Bromont is just an hour from Montreal, but it feels like a world away once you’re gliding down one of its 110 runs sprawled across 450 acres. Whether you’re a park rat, a powder chaser, or a cruiser, the mountain’s got your back. There are multiple peaks, a variety of lifts, and a layout that means you rarely have to repeat a trail unless you want to. Bromont is the largest night skiing resort in the world. Seriously. If you love to sleep in or work a half-day before hitting the slopes, this is your paradise. The lights come on, the crowds thin out, and you get that magic “first tracks” feeling well into the evening. After a day (or night) on the slopes, Bromont’s après-ski scene delivers. The Chalet du Sommet offers panoramic views and hearty eats-think beef bourguignon, mac & cheese, and hot coffee to warm your soul. For a more lively vibe, head to Bistro-bar La Débarque for shareable starters, comforting mains, and local brews. During “Nuits Blanches,” the bar stays open until 1 a.m.-perfect for swapping stories and planning tomorrow’s runs. What keeps me coming back, year after year, is the vibe. Bromont is big enough to offer variety, but small enough to feel friendly. The staff are helpful, the crowd is a mix of families, friends, and diehards, and the mountain somehow balances being both lively and laid-back. If you’re looking for a mountain that delivers epic night skiing, a huge variety of runs, and a legit après-ski scene-all within an hour of Montreal, Bromont is your spot!

One of my favorite hills i’ve been too! Came here for about 5 days and never got bored of any of the runs. The hill has a large variety of different glades, runs, difficulties of runs, and snow parks. The chairlifts were sped up and never had to wait in lines for very long, which allowed for lots of runs. Definitely recommend!

Mont Sutton

Ski resort
Outdoor Activities
Ski resort with downhill slopes, glades & cross-country trails, plus hikes amid fall foliage.
My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at Mont Sutton today! From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. The traffic staff were friendly and efficient, helping us find parking with ease. The exceptional customer service didn’t stop there. While exploring the mountain, we had the pleasure of meeting Richard, a staff member who kindly took the time to show us all the runs that were open and provided a great overview of the mountain layout. His knowledge and kindness made our experience so much better. It was clear that he genuinely wanted us to have a fantastic day, and his efforts are highly commendable. Between the welcoming staff and the great skiing, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Mont Sutton is a wonderful resort, and we’ll definitely be returning soon!

Usually go here in the winter but decided to check it out in the summer. Can take a ride up the hill to see nice scenery. The top of hill isn’t as well organized as Mont Tremblant hill is, but still we had a nice time. If you like hiking or mountain biking then this is the place for you.

If you’ve been shredding every winter since 2014 like me, Mont Sutton is a name that sparks excitement-and for good reason. Just a short drive from Montreal, this Eastern Townships gem delivers an authentic, soulful mountain vibe that’s become rare in today’s world of mega-resorts. Mont Sutton is a playground for glade lovers. Nearly half the mountain is covered in “sous-bois” (gladed runs), making it a paradise for snowboarders and skiers who crave weaving through trees and hunting for powder stashes long after a storm. The terrain diversity is impressive for its size, with everything from mellow cruisers to some of Quebec’s most challenging triple-black diamond tree runs-think tight, steep, and full of surprises. Each glade feels like its own secret world, and every lap offers a new line to discover. The lifts might be a throwback, but that’s part of Sutton’s charm. You won’t find high-speed quads everywhere, but you also won’t be stuck in endless lift lines. The mountain’s layout means you can chase the best snow and terrain all day, and the vertical drop is enough to keep your legs burning run after run. Snow quality is a big plus: Sutton’s microclimate often delivers deep dumps, and the forested trails protect the snow, keeping conditions fresh. While grooming isn’t always perfect-icy days can be tough, especially for snowboarders-the magic here is in the natural terrain and powder days. Hungry? The food menu is packed with local flavors and hearty snacks-perfect for refueling after a big day. And if you’re looking to keep the party going, downtown Sutton is just minutes away, home to two standout microbreweries and a slew of great restaurants. Mont Sutton isn’t about glitz or flash; it’s about soulful riding, endless glades, and a community that loves winter as much as you do. For Montrealers who crave authentic mountain culture and memorable days on snow, Sutton is a must-ride-every single season

Sutton Natural Environment Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Mountainous park with lakes & cascades, home to migratory birds as well as biking & walking routes.
Loved it. Was lucky enough to enjoy the last day before the closure due to snow melting. Nice parking area and trail well maintened. The view from the top is awesome and the Round Top trail is a nice challenge. Will definitely come back during summer/autumn too.
Mladen T — Google review
Getting to the top was a challenge for this 63 yr. old, but not for those younger and/or in better shape! Definitely worth it, though, once you see the view from the top. Well marked with signage, and lots of stairs/bridges to assist your hike. On this May day, there were some muddy areas, but no bugs! Free parking at the top of Chem. Real (if road block in place at bottom, just drive around). Go early, take a lunch, and enjoy!
Jim W — Google review
Depending on the trail you choose, this can be quite a challenging hike! We were directed to a strange path and it’s very poorly marked and the day took us about 8 hours. I hike often and this was a challenge! The view was definitely worth it. One of the best views of this area by far! If you’re less directionally challenged than most you should be just fine! Beautiful view, the trails outside the hills used for skiing are stunning! Wear good shoes and bring bug spray! You’ll love it!
Tiffany D — Google review
This park is beautiful. I recommend you use the available tracks. I had the chance to see more than five viewpoints on my way, and the majority of them were beautiful. I do recommend this park. However, it is better to have hiking equipment, including a proper tracking boot and a good backpack.

Really nice place for hiking with a rewarding view on the top! We did the Round Top trail and it was beautiful! Peaceful walk in the forest and the view on top is breathtaking. On beautiful days you can see all the mountains across the border! The hike itself isn’t difficult, but definitely bring good hiking gear and especially good hiking shoes since it tends to get muddy and slippery at multiple places.

Really nice park not too far from Montreal, good for a half day hike. You need to buy the daily access online. It got a bit busy in the afternoon so better hiking early 😀
Yuqing W — Google review
nice hike, hard work being done to maintain the trail, this fall the colors have changed a bit earlier than the last couple of years, mid October there is not much leaves left, moderate intensity hike, loop trail well marked but to save a km of distance many people adopt to take the trail in the opposite direction against the prohibition signs.
Charif H — Google review
Hiked in early June on a 10-12 km trail. The trails are decently maintained and clearly marked. Some view points offer really great view. It was super windy and quiet. Spruce Lake in the evening was a sight to behold, with it's splashing beavers, calm waters and beautiful view. Definitely would try to hit to check out some other trails.

Water & Amusement Parks
The Pump House Indoor Waterpark at Jay Peak Resort is a haven for water enthusiasts, offering an array of attractions such as waterslides, kids' pools, and a lazy river. The Tram House Lodge provides a cozy Vermont experience with locally made fixtures and easy access to the Tower Bar, restaurants, and spa. Despite some attractions being closed during one visitor's experience, they were able to purchase wristbands without hassle.
This is an absolutely stunning resort. The surrounding area is beautiful. Incredible staff. The hotel rooms are quiet.

We had the best time at the Pump House! The waterpark is clean, well-staffed, and super fun for all ages. My kids couldn’t get enough of the slides, and we loved relaxing in the lazy river. Perfect indoor activity for a rainy or chilly day. We’ll definitely be back!

We met some great friends here! The community at the flowrider is amazing! We just participated in a flowrider competition. This indoor water park keeps us coming back! The only thing that would be great is if they had a few working tvs in the place. Would keep the parents entertained with sports while the kids did their thing! Otherwise we’ll keep coming back because the flow rider community is a magnet ☺️

Such a fun and really cool place. The only reason this is a 4 is because it's ridiculously loud and walking through the doors I was immediately thrown into sensory overwhelm. I suggest ear plugs if you really want a good time. The place was surprisingly clean and well kept. My kids had a blast and can't wait to go back.

Great place with more life guards than I am used to. The surfing instructors helped me learn a little about surfing , and the employee at the top of the red slide was nice as I hesitated to go in. I just wish there was a wave pool somewhere instead of just waves in the lazy river as those waves felt small.

It's indoors and the kids loved it seems to have alot of life guards which is good has a little snack bar and also serves mom and dad drinks

Had a great day (12 October) at the water park. Kids left exhausted but delighted. Lines were really short. Lifeguards were great, especially the two lifeguards who looked after the Florider. They were fantastic offering tips, support and enthusiasm all day to kids and adults alike! Only areas for improvement - Wish they had somewhere on site to get a coffee or hot chocolate.

I've been to the Pump house multiple times now most recently for my daughter's birthday party. Double digits! I called close to 2 dozen times thats right over 20 times in 2 weeks before reaching a human. Finally got the party booked. We were across from the wave kids were so excited... except there was an event and they couldn't surf and what was worse the speakers were on either side of our cabana. We couldn't even hear ourselves sing happy birthday. I wish they would have said something before we booked it 😒

In addition to its winter appeal, the resort also caters to summer vacationers with its family-friendly facilities. Amazing hotel. Rooms were beyond what I expected. Spotless. Cozy. Beautiful spot. Great food. Many fun things to do. Great places to walk and explore, awesome tram ride, water park, rock climbing, mini golf. All so much fun. My daughter and I loved the restaurant by the golf course. Lobster roll was magical. Waiter was amazing. Waitstaff at foundry’s also very sweet especially the 2 gentlemen with the beards. The woman in the store was also so friendly and kind. We wanted to stay forever.

Booked a night with unlimited golf at Jay Peak. We were told on the phone we could golf with our one year old as we have a seat we strap in the cold cart for him. Showed up, with a 10:00 tee time booked already and were told we couldn’t bring our child. Guy in the pro shop was very rude. We were told we needed to check in to get golf vouchers. Front seat told us check in wasn’t till 5 so we were out of luck, managers were called and I ended up golfing with just my oldest son after almost missing our tee time after showing up 45 minutes early. Customer service at the front desk were very rude and difficult to deal with. Elevator to our room didn’t go to our floor so we ended up having to carry the stroller up stairs. Went to get lunch at the foundry and waited 30 minutes by the sign “please wait to be seated” before anyone showed up to acknowledge us and there were only three tables seated. The food was good but expensive but that’s to expected. We were really excited for this day but it was a complete disappointment and not worth it. We are Vermont natives too.l, about an hour away from Jay and will never come back here. Much better golf and accommodations elsewhere.

Jay Peak is one of my favorite mountains in New England!! Lift operators are cool as hell and always make it fun. Their attention to the glades is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Water park is super fun especially the big slides. The slope side condos are beautiful, and the shuttle is seriously so quick!!!! The rooms are beautiful in the hotel and all of the food spots are delicious. Lots of options available.

Jay Peak Resort is honestly one of the best places I’ve ever been to. The views alone are incredible mountains everywhere, fresh air, and a peaceful vibe that makes you want to stay forever. The slopes were perfectly groomed, and the snow felt amazing to ride on. Everything felt super well taken care of, from the lifts to the lodges. The staff was really friendly and made the whole experience even better. It wasn’t just about skiing or snowboarding the whole place had this fun, relaxed energy. The food was surprisingly great too, which is rare for a mountain resort. I loved how easy everything was, from renting gear to getting on the trails. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget about everything else and just enjoy the moment. I’m already planning my next trip back. Amazing during ski Szn I could get sendy with the boys it was a big W

It was quite the drive to get there but it was well worth it! Water park was out of this world, very nice golf course, they had disc golf, hiking trails up the mountain and even a heated outdoor pool. The resort even has an indoor climbing facility and movie theater. It was fun for the whole family.

A fine resort. Clean, basic rooms. Our bathroom door was very squeaky. The service from the bellhop and the front desk was friendly and efficient. The setting was exquisite during our recent visit. The coffee at their restaurant is dreadful. No fridge or kettle in our room... we ended up crossing into Canada and going to Mansonville for coffee... Appalaches | Torréfacteur roasts their own beans, and it's a very cute little town.

We were there for a hockey tournament. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had originally booked a slop side cabin that was durty, dead bugs on the floor and windows stains on the carpets and food on the couch and the tv didn't work,so the moved us to the tram house and the room and view was 100% better. We had a couple of plugs that didn't work but made the stay alot more enjoyable.

Great family trip. We rented a five-bedroom condo from Jay Peak and they handled everything for us. We had three families and children from 3 through 15. They all had a great time especially in the water park and the tram going up the mountain. Everything was included. The condo was well equipped with everything we would possibly need. This is our second trip and we will return. The staff at the front desk were terrific to deal with.

(Translated by Google) A quick visit to South Durham and a pleasant surprise when I stumbled upon the mp tresart Gallery. The place is welcoming, well-appointed, and has an interesting aroma. The works on display cover an interesting spectrum. There's both colorful abstraction and pieces with a more punk/comic style (halfway between Tank Girl and pop surrealism). A good balance between eccentricity and accessibility. Special mention goes to Daniel Giroux's "Rouge rubis" and Th3 Cr0w 13.13's "Drive ta vie," which particularly caught my eye. And I must say, the owner is a charming, passionate woman with real energy. She puts her heart into introducing artists and creating a dialogue. A little too motivated to sell, perhaps, but hey, I don't blame her; I've had my art hang-ups since childhood, so I take it upon myself. In short, a wonderful discovery. This is definitely one of the most interesting places in the area. I recommend stopping by to anyone passing through.

There is a company called Mine Cristal Inc. that deals with Walmart Canada as a supplier of numerous wide variety products, at least as they are seen on the Walmart Canada site. After corporation research this is the only company in Canada with this name. They have many negative reviews and several complaints and accusations, and mostly very low rated reviews because of their questionable legal business practices. They are accused for stolen products, ghost products, fake and incorrect products, to advertising products which they do not even possess at the time of ordering, leading to many product cancellations and refunds without the slightest remorse towards the customer. Walmart does not seem to screen such companies and not protecting buyers. Bad scammers and thieves, bad practices. I am reporting all this with my personal experience from Mine Cristal Inc. to the authorities.

Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, founded in 1912, is a working Benedictine abbey that welcomes visitors to experience its bold interiors and learn about monastic life through guided tours. The abbey church is open year-round for exploration. While the tour covers only one hallway and the chapel, it's fascinating to witness the monks' success in cheese making and apple picking businesses.
Beautiful building (some ongoing construction happening) and grounds. The boutique is well stocked with something for everyone, including their famous cheeses & ciders, reasonably priced. Well worth a visit!
Jim W — Google review
It’s a very beautiful place. The chapel is incredible. And the landing grounds are beautiful as well as the orchards and the roads to drive around there.
Jacqueline K — Google review
We’d been curious about this place for years—our school always ran fundraisers with their cheeses—so we finally decided to visit. The Abbaye itself is beautiful. We took the tour, which was interesting, though I might skip it next time. That said, we did learn some neat facts, and our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the Abbaye. You can tell the staff here truly care about what they do. We were especially excited to see the cheese factory, but due to high tourism (great for them!), access is now restricted as it disrupts the monks. It was a hot day, so we didn’t explore the outdoor grounds as much as we’d like, but it’s a charming place to visit. Picking up fresh cheese on-site—and at a good price—was a definite highlight. We’ll be back again one day 😊
Alicia K — Google review
It’s a wonder of construction and you can feel the history of the abbey when you visit. Lots of displays about the history and daily activities and there’s also a wonderful little shop for souvenirs and cheeses and other snacks! It’s a bit of a drive from Montreal but worth the time!

A very nice quiet area in the nature. A very humble and yet beautiful monastery. In the basement floor there is a boutique where you can purchase delicious goods. Their variety of cheese was so tasty.

Amazing experience! Very spiritual to sit in on a service, have picnic on the grounds. Pick apples in the fall. Their cheese is delicious. Highly recommend
Andrea F — Google review
(Went there last year during summer) returned this year during autumn, last week. As pretty as in my memories, minus the summer crowd. Great place for a walk in nature around the monastery. Otherwise, plenty of nice photos to be taken inside. And the shop downstairs is a must-visit. Most items are either made onsite or locally. I recommend their cheese combo box, their "kir-styled" cider(that pairs well with the cheeses), the blue cheese salad dressing, the coconut chocolate bites and finally, the fruit cake(although from Val Notre Dame Abbey). Tasty treats awaits!
Samanthara S — Google review
Enjoyed coming to this area for an unplanned visit. The shop inside offered many great options and was fantastic to take the time to have a picnic outside. The apple orchard added an extra activity for the visit. I wish there was more areas of the grounds that could be seen and more areas open inside to enjoy. Parking spots were a little bit of a challenge to get but many different areas available.
