Wonderful Lake. Brings memories of my Grandfather. He had a store and post office at the west end of the lake on the rail line at Red Pass.

Moose Lake is a breathtaking stop along the Yellowhead Highway that feels like stepping into a postcard. Surrounded by rugged mountains and framed by the towering peaks of the Rockies, the lake stretches out in a long, peaceful ribbon of deep blue-green water. On a calm day, the reflections of the mountains and clouds are so vivid they look almost painted. This is a place where you can truly slow down and soak in nature. It’s perfect for pulling over during a road trip, stretching your legs, and taking in the scenery. The shoreline is easily accessible in spots, making it a great place for photos, a picnic, or just sitting quietly to listen to the gentle lap of the water. If you’re lucky, you might spot wildlife in the area — moose sightings do happen, and you’ll often see birds skimming the surface. There are no big crowds or noisy facilities here, which adds to the serenity. Facilities are minimal, so it’s best to bring your own snacks, water, and anything you need. The beauty of Moose Lake is its simplicity — untouched, peaceful, and a reminder of how incredible British Columbia’s landscapes are. If you’re driving through Mount Robson Provincial Park, this is a must-see stop. Whether you stay for 10 minutes or an hour, it’s the kind of view that stays with you long after you’ve left.

We passed the Moose Lake in the province of British Columbia while doing a VIA Rail trip from Vancouver to Jasper National Park in Alberta, in July 2019. The Canadian National's Rail line and the Yellowhead Highway run along the north shore of the lake and we got very scenic views of the lake from the train window. Moose Lake is the only lake along the course of the Fraser River.

100% worth a visit and certainly is one of the highlights of my trip around the Canadian Rockies. Kinney Lake is a must see and is well worth the 1-1.5hr hike. It is not too challenging or overly steep and the path is very well marked. It is super convenient to access the trail from the Berg Lake trail head car park.

Standing at 3,954 meters (12,972 feet), Mount Robson is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, its snow-capped summit attracting climbers year-round. With scenic lakes, abundant wildlife, hiking trails, and rich flora, it’s a must-see for anyone who loves nature. Welcome Centre, a first stop for most visitors, where souvenirs line the shelves and rangers share tips about the park, the mountain, and its many trails. Its porch is the best vantage point for the clearest, most majestic view of the Mount Robson. The Centre has a museum which contains many interesting facts about the state park’s history, mountain climbing attempts, and the surrounding wildlife.

We visited Mt. Robson on our drive from Clearwater to Jasper. It's the highest mountain in the Rockies. The Welcome centre tells a bit about the history of the first voyage of discovery, as well as the geology. There's a store and some toilets inside as well. Also: WiFi! From the deck at the back there's a great view of the mountain itself. But for the best pictures of yourself and the mountain (as I'm not a big fan of fences in picture), I would move to the spacious lush green field behind the centre.

I only stopped here for a short rest, but the mountain views completely amazed me. Even on a warm day, there was still snow glistening at the top, making the scenery stunning. It turned out to be an unexpected highlight of my trip, worth pausing to enjoy.

On a good (mostly cloudless) day, you can make a stop here, buy snacks or ice cream and have a view of Mount Robson. Great for those that are not planning on going further in or hiking. You still get to see the tallest Mountain in the Canadian Rockies.

This was by far one of my favorite hikes of the trip. We only made it to the lake but even that was worth it. Highly recommend a visit.

This is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever visited. The views here are unparalleled, and there's tons of wildlife.

I come here every summer when I can. One of the most amazing trails on Earth. If you only have a couple of hours, a trip to Kinney Lake is well worth it. If you have a couple of days, the trip to Berg Lake (and Snowbird Pass) are breathtaking. Must book a loooooooooooong time in advance.

Honestly the berg lake trail is one of the nicest hikes I've done. We went up to emperor falls and back (32km+) in one day, and although it was totally worth it it was quite heave on the knees. I recommend everyone to do the hike, as I can only imagine what Berg lake itself will look like, but make sure you got a few days time so you can appreciate it in all it's glory without having to walk around with a knee brace for a week after 😉

Beautiful Jaw dropping mountains and breathtaking views. It's one of the most beautiful part of the yellow head highway drive towards BC. There are a few shops for travellers and tourist to patronize. Also several areas for photo lovers. Ensure your vehicle is in good shape as help may not come as quickly as you desire if needed. Cellular network signals are very poor around these area due to the mountains. Ensure your vehicle has enough gas to avoid disappointment. Not many gas stations are available around the mountain.

Such a beautiful place! Here you get to see snowy and really tall mountains! And because the Mount Robson Provincial Park is near BC and Alberta, you could play around and you jump from province to province, that sounds cool to me!

Fantastic customer service! We did the Scenic Raft Float for $79 plus GST and really enjoyed it. We felt like we could have spent another hour just floating along. If we are over this way in the future we will definitely use this service again.

I recently went whitewater rafting for the first time, and it was an unforgettable experience! We went rafting today July 8th 2025. It was wonderful, we chose the sights seeing. We had a very great time. We enjoyed the whole scenic. The weather also was fantastic. The guider was awesome, she was very friendly and helpful. Totally staff were so friendly and helpful. Well organised. Prices are reasonable. Overall, we had a very good time.

We had scenic float at the end of the season. Kris was wonderful with explanation and showing us around. I took one star out, it was no “wow” effect. We would try white water rafting next time, our daughter is still young to take this year.

We usually stop here for 10-minutes on road trips. A good spot to let out the kids or dog to stretch the legs as there is a large field and it's far enough away from the main roads. A few picnic benches of seating nearby as well.

I stopped to get some information, I didn't leave with much. I had to wander around the store to see what the town was about. I asked all the questions, I thought the lady could have shared more helpful information of what the town offered. I left there wondering why I even stopped.

What a joke of a town. Safe to say I’ll never be back — the name Valemount will always be a bitter reminder. Found a “futuristic” self-cleaning public toilet… reality? A malfunctioning mess. Filthy inside, couldn’t even wash my hands. Feels more like a cheap PR stunt — probably a bribe by Telus to keep other phone providers out of town 😂. And that’s another issue. I drove 30 extra minutes just to get here, hoping for a decent place to dine and maybe some cell service. Instead, I found a town that fails in every direction. Dining? Fail. Service? Fail. Experience? Complete fail. Valemount, the “pit stop” you’ll regret.

The Valemount Visitor Centre is fantastic! The building is adorable, and the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Like another reviewer mentioned, they are genuinely excited to share their knowledge with you. The gift shop is a gem, offering lots of unique magnets and great prices on items. Some of the same items Jasper and Banff carry, but cheaper. They have shelves lined with brochures of other nearby places, and the staff helped me discover new spots I’d love to check out in the future. Overall, a must stop if you’re in the area!

Cleanest and most comfortable washrooms on hwy 5. Great place for a pit stop and some neat merch available inside as well.

Amazing location and view. The walls are thin, but my neighbors were pretty quiet. One of the windows didn't work which is fine for the weather I had, but with no AC or fans, it could be an issue. The host did offer to come fix it, which was super nice.

It's a very nice place. Very clean. It's just keen eared to the next door apartment so it's good to have some earplugs in the bag. But I definitely recommend this place !

We stayed here in June 2025 for a night while traveling from Alberta. It is a lovely place located just a couple kilometres out of town. The area is quiet with lots of birds in the forest to fill the air with songs. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessities for cooking. There were windows to open on both sides of the cabin to allow a cool evening breeze to flow through the. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. There was no air conditioning so it could get a bit warm in the cabin on a hot summer day but the evenings are generally cool so that helps to get a good sleep. I would highly recommend this place overall.

Very accessible. They have parkinf for car & RV/ campers. Toilets re available everywhere. This waterfall is gorgeous & amazing. A must to visit & trekking there. U can trekking further to the end of the trail. Really nice view & less tourists.

Helmcken Falls offers a stunning view with its dramatic drop into a deep canyon. The viewpoint is just a short, flat walk from the parking lot, making it easily accessible for all visitors. There are restroom facilities near the lot, and the viewing platform gives clear, wide views of the falls and surrounding cliffs. On a good day, the mist rising from the base adds to the atmosphere. If you're anywhere near Clearwater, it’s definitely worth pulling over for.

Beautiful waterfall surrounded by rock formations formed due to volcano, been here multiple times during winter and during spring and the waterfall always surprises with its views. Must visit if driving to Jasper/mount Robson/clearwater if driving along hwy-5 and there is lots of camp sites / RV sites and Cabins available in and around hwy-5.

Very spectacular waterfall!!! We went in late July and the fall was still pretty awesome!! We arrived VERY early in the morning around 6am, we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.

This breathtaking waterfall deserves every bit of the attention and appreciation. One of the most wonderful waterfalls and places gives to us by the mother nature!

Canada's 4th highest waterfall. This is such a great place to visit. Amazing views from the platform. Helmcken Falls is beautiful. Really recommend this place for a visit.

Gorgeous waterfall. Very easy access to the viewing platform from the parking lot. We arrived around 11am on a late July weekend and there’s already some people there. There’s plenty of room on the viewing platform to fit all the visitors. Great view of the canyon.

Great little park for a quick stop while driving. Park seems to be handicapped accessible, with new benches and a clean trail going to the falls overlook.

DON’T miss the tiny brown sign to the right, look for the giant HOT DOG sign to the left to park and do a quick hike to view the falls. If you do happen to miss the parking lot for Sapp Falls, just carry on the road up to the next parking lot. The hike is approximately a kilometer and a half mostly down and can be challenging, but will definitely get your heart beating if you need that as a stop on the road. The fall are absolutely spectacular to see.

I am so incredibly glad we decided to pull over and stop at Spahats Creek Falls during our drive through Clearwater! What an absolute gem this place is. From the moment you arrive, you can tell it's well cared for. The trail leading to the falls is exceptionally well done and maintained, making for an easy and pleasant walk. The initial view as you approach the main area is nothing short of breathtaking – a deep, impressive canyon stretches out before you, hinting at the grandeur to come. But just a little further around, you reach the main viewing area, and that's where the magic truly happens. The falls themselves are absolutely stunning and incredibly interesting to behold. Spahats Creek Falls truly stands out because the water seems to burst directly out of a hidden cave in the side of the canyon wall! It's such a unique geological feature and immediately piqued my interest, making me wonder exactly where that water is coming from deep within the rock. Overall, this was a fantastic stop that exceeded all expectations. If you're driving through Clearwater, do yourself a favor and experience the beauty and mystery of Spahats Creek Falls!

Spahats creek falls is in a canyon that connects to a valley and it sits in amongst the clouds. Great parking for all. Washrooms on site including pit toilets and running toilets. Trail is very easy to walk. Defiantly worth stopping and feeling the power nature has here.

A truly wonderful trip. We went on a 3 hour evening ride with my wife and 2 sons accompanied by Sarah, Darcy, and Lucy. We explored the ranch which was a beautiful mixture of rolling hills, forest, and streams. At the end we stopped by the river for dinner made in an old 19th century wagon, an unforgettable experience. The team looked after us really well, with beautiful and healthy horses, and a strong focus on our safety. Highly recommended.

I did a two-hour afternoon ride with Sarah, and it was a great experience! The team was incredibly accommodating and professional from start to finish, and everything felt well organized. The ride itself was really interesting... the landscape and habitat were beautiful, and Sarah shared lots of insight that made the experience even more enjoyable. The service was excellent, the horses were clearly well cared for, and the price was reasonable for the experience. Highly recommend!

A great memory for two horse novices. Darcy our guide was authentic, charming, helpful and humorous. The ride exceeded our expectations in terms of what we did and where he took us. The trail ride was pretty with dramatic scenery and a mix of meadows, slopes, woods, even a bit by the river. Highly recommended !!! As a hint don’t arrive in shorts, you will be wearing riding boots and going through real country with trees, bushes etc so have sensible leg coverings

We messaged them one day in advance and I got a reply within 10 minutes that they will make the ride work! Super easy, well organized ride. We had an amazing morning at the vavenby trail rides. Myself and my partner had never been on a horse before and thought we would give it a try. We was greeted by Sarah and Antonia from Germany with smiles and a warm welcome, the horses were already out and ready to go. So we kitted up and after a few simple instructions off we went. The horses were so easy to control and so well behaved, any worries I had soon went. The trails around the ranch were breath taking and after a long ride we ended up by the river for food and a chat. With there dog by our side the whole ride it was an amazing experience. One which I would gladly do again. Many thanks ed and Sarah for allowing us to have this time on your ranch.

They had a tip jar on their counter. ....your job is to provide information and customer service. You get paid or volunteer to do so. The tipping mindset of places that aren't restaurants serving you food at a table is becoming too much and honestly ridiculous. The place does have merchandise, ice cream, and coffee to purchase.

When our booking at a different RV park fell through, we contacted Chinook Cove and they were able to accommodate us. SO happy they did! We now have a favourite spot for camping with full hookups. Everything is very clean (including the onsite showers/bathrooms) and the staff are wonderful. The golf course is a hidden gem! We will definitely be back!

We finally decided to stop and look at this place instead of driving by as we usually do. The young men in the clubhouse were super friendly and helpful. The campground turns out to be very quiet and large enough to accommodate pretty much any size of rv. Very strong wi-fi signal in campground. The golf course was beautifully manicured and was very fun to play while offering a challenge as well. We walked the course on this visit but next time we will use a power cart as there is a lot of elevation changes here which make the walk a little more of a workout.

What a terrific find! This gem of a golf course was in great shape, course is well laid out and was a terrific introduction to golf for a beginner while still challenging a lower handicapper. Tons of parking for a couple truck/trailers. Will definitely repeat.

We were visiting family in Sun Peaks who been dog sledding last year and loved it. We went on the hour long tour and can say it was the highlight of our holiday. Chris collected us from the village and drove us up to the base. All of the dogs are clearly loved and well cared for and enjoy their work pulling the sleds. We had time to meet and stroke our sled team before the tour and then afterwards time to stroke all the dogs and meet the amazing litter of puppies - just adorable!! Travelling through the forest was simply breathtaking and we stopped at the lake for photos. Our guides Tempe and Andrew were friendly, informative and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend this experience - thank you all so much for such a special and unforgettable experience!

Unforgettable Dog Sledding Adventure at Sun Peaks– A Must-Do Experience! From start to finish, this dog sledding experience was nothing short of magical! The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a team of energetic, well-cared-for huskies and knowledgeable guides who made us feel welcome and excited for the journey ahead. The sled ride itself was absolutely breathtaking—gliding through a pristine winter wonderland, surrounded by snow-covered trees and crisp mountain air, was like something out of a dream. The dogs were incredible, full of enthusiasm and strength, and it was heartwarming to see how much they love running. What truly stood out was the opportunity to interact with the dogs! We had amazing experience with Mountain Man Dog Sled Adventures. Taryn made a last minute booking very easy. Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable. Liam made our sled ride enjoyable. The scenery was magnificent. But it’s the dogs that steal the show. They clearly love being on the trail and there was plenty of time to interact with them after. Meeting the puppies was also a highlight. We would recommend the experience. Chris and his team clearly love the dogs and the experiences they create for guests.

Joe took us on a fun Jeep tour through the Sun Peaks mountain range, including to McGillivray Lake, and a couple other lake spots. It was beautiful scenery the whole time, and we saw some wildlife on the drive! Joe is very knowledgeable about the area and can answer all your questions. And we appreciate Taryn's help to book us specially before the official tourism season begins - thank you!

Our dog sled expedition was absolutely incredible! The dogs were well-trained and full of energy, and the guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. The stunning winter landscapes made the ride feel like something out of a dream. Everything was well-organized. The Monte Creek winery has a wonderful tasting room. The big glass windows really give it a nice atmosphere. The grounds are well manicured. The outdoor patio is a good size. Friendly and pleasant staff.

Mmmm, the wine, oh the wine! 4 healthy samples of your choice and a charcuterie board. We ended up taking 4 bottles home. Great selections and all flavourful and tasty. No bombs in our selection and some great stories behind them! Ask about “hands up” and you’ll see a movie in the making.

Plan your wedding here! Not only was it the absolute best spot for an knockout view, the shaded trees and stunning lawn made for a incredible setting for our wedding ceremony! Coordinating with the Event team was a breeze and every detail was taken care of. Our guests enjoyed a perfect afternoon and I couldn't ask for anything more!

I recently had my wedding ceremony at Monte Creek Winery and it was wonderful! They've had some turnover in event coordinators so I worked with a few different people throughout the planning process but they were all very helpful, responsive, and flexible with figuring out all the little details. The wedding was beautiful and everyone loved the wine selections for the cocktail hour. The Living Land Sparkling Rosé in particular was a big hit!

Went to the wine club pick up party last night. Have to say the staff and catering company did an amazing job. Amazing food by Sage & Plate and very friendly and courteous staff. And of course amazing wine. Great job Monte Creek Winery. Another happy member.

Visited in September. BC Wildlife Park was a sweet and memorable stop. Loved seeing the rescued animals—they looked safe and well cared for, which was really heartwarming. Owl Talk was a definite highlight! Getting up close to such a beautiful bird was amazing. The observation hive was super cool too. The spirit bear is the standout, but no luck spotting it this time. Still, a lovely visit overall.

We had such an amazing time at BC Wildlife Park. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Unfortunately, we missed the train ride, but there was still so much to see and enjoy. The park is very family-friendly, with great facilities for all ages. One highlight for me was seeing the cougar laying right at the gate, such a beautiful moment! Also, I absolutely loved the honey in the gift shop definitely worth picking up a jar.

We absolutely love the place. They only have rescued animals and the have signs telling you the story of each animal plus really interesting facts about that animal species. We went in a hot sunny summer day so recommend to bring a hat and a ton of sun screen. The splash zone they have was a blast that gave us some relief from the hot weather. We were able to see so many animals (recommend checking the feeding schedule), we love the bears they have in particular the white one which is only found in BC. They have some timings for you to go a pet some goats and sheep they have, they even provide brushes which are like a spa for the animals, they love to be pet and are super friendly and cute

A bit disappointed by the facilities. Needs renovations. The train 🚂 was not running unfortunately. Off season prices too expensive. When we arrived at 10:30am there was almost no animals out it felt very strange, like an abandoned old zoo. Later on we saw more but some of the cages were not looking very clean. The birds section was great. It is nice to have the story of the rescue of each animal. They definitely should replace most of the fences by glasses. Not that much of “wild” animal.

Visited BC Wildlife Park on Canada Day, and despite the hot weather, we had a wonderful time. We got to see a variety of animals, including the bear, which was a highlight. Though not as many animals as you'd expect from a zoo since this is wildlife refuge. The little train ride was a fun and relaxing way to explore the park, especially for kids. One of the best features on a hot day was the water sprinklers, the kids had a blast cooling off and running through them. The park is well laid out with shaded areas and great for families. A fun, educational, and refreshing day out, highly recommended!

This is such an extraordinary place to go. There's a vast amount of things to learn, and Animals to see. It took about an hour to walk around the park, but was very easy for me even with a bad hip. The grizzlys were super interactive as well. Definitely worth the drive. I'll be coming back with my kids.

We visited late on a hot July afternoon and only had 1.5 hrs to tour. As expected, it was hit and miss with seeing the animals in their enclosures, and at that time of day we had the park pretty much to ourselves. That said, everything appeared to be well laid out, well signed, and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the birds of prey exhibit, and noted there is a family farm where visitors can interact with farm animals. Judging from the sandwich board sign of the day’s activities it is better to arrive in the morning to take advantage of feedings and demonstrations.

Green heart of Kamloops! A beautiful Riverside Park that’s perfect for all ages! The water park is a great spot for kids to cool off in the summer, and there are plenty of benches and picnic tables in the shady areas for a relaxing break. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a lovely place for a walk. Don’t miss the Rose Garden and the peaceful Japanese Garden — they add a special touch to the park. A must-visit in warm weather!

Riverside Park in Kamloops is an absolute gem! We visited in the summer and had an amazing time. The park was full of life, families, kids, and people enjoying the beautiful weather. It offers stunning views of the river and has a clean, well-maintained beach that’s perfect for relaxing. The atmosphere is vibrant and peaceful at the same time. A huge thanks to the city government and park management for keeping this place so clean, safe, and welcoming. If you’re around Kamloops, this is definitely a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Riverside Park in Kamloops is a beautiful riverside spot with walking trails, playgrounds, and a splash pad—perfect for families. The views of the Thompson Rivers are stunning, and summer concerts add a lively vibe. Parking can get busy, and shade is limited in some areas. Overall, a clean, relaxing park worth visiting — I’d rate it 4/5 stars.

A beauty of a park for everyone. We visited the park early September. There are many large old trees to sit under for shade from the hot sun, its close by the river and has a long walking path alongside it. I was told there is live entertainment each evening during July and August.

Awesome place to play, watch and have fun in the splash park. They have an updated playground that is wheelchair accessible. The water park is so much fun. We stayed and watched the sunset. It was beautiful. Would definitely come back

Excellent amenities, busy with lots going on, this is a great gathering place. Great people watching, lots of entertainment, and a lot of shade on hot summer days. There was even a concert when I was there on a Thursday! There is a water park, limited parking, a swimming beach area that is sectioned off so it is a safe place to swim in the river, paved trails and much more.

Beautiful park for baseball and other activities. As we were there for a baseball tournament (considered an "event") so we were allowed to camp there at a cost of $16.50/night. Lovely facilities with a beautiful 3.2km path along the perimeter of the island. Washrooms and garbage kept up nicely.

It's an island not a park. The design of the park is good. There are a few big sport fields around the road. If you are a visitor, you may drive a little half round of this island. There are many parking and washroom along the road. We go there in the late evening so we didn't see any wild life. If you have time, I think there are a good trail goes around the whole island. I see people using bikes to stroll around. It may take some time for a round stroll.

Safe, well maintained park I love coming to Mac Park for a morning blade. Beautiful venue for soccer and ball. Great paved running path. Hockey arena.

Great location for sports. We've attended the BC youth rugby 7s tournament here the last 4 years. Super jealous that Kelowna doesn't have anything comparable. No wonder they call themselves the tournament capital! Good job, Kamloops:)

This park’s a full-on activity hub. You’ve got soccer fields, baseball diamonds, a skatepark, disc golf, and even a big indoor sports centre. I liked the 3.1 km paved loop — great for walking or rollerblading, and it passes through some peaceful riparian areas with birdwatching spots. It’s family-friendly and well-maintained, with lots of free parking. Downsides? No dogs allowed, which might be a dealbreaker for some, and it can feel a bit too busy during tournaments or summer weekends. Some areas could use more shade or seating. Still, it’s one of the most versatile parks in town.

Lovely walking trails, lots of wildlife and great sporting facilities

I've taken to walking here daily and it is a great place to start getting active. Always clean, and very well looked after. I like that there are several public washrooms available and several different options for how far you want to walk.

There are quite a few trails here. Most are steep so be ready to go up. The view from the top was great and I felt a good sense of accomplishment when I made it up. We took the main viewpoint trail. It took about 1 hour to go up, hang out a bit at the top, then go down. I would not take my kids. They would have complained a lot. It is all up! There was parking, it was easy to find, there was a bathroom and garbage can at the base of the trail and this was a good trail to try if you are looking for a good little hike and aren’t from town - it was easy to find and it is well marked, you won’t get lost.

A great walk with stunning views. You can choose your difficulty level. Watch out for trail bikes coming down. Easiest way was to park off hillside. Beautiful views.

Lovely short and quiet hike. Trail was well kept. You get beautiful views of the town & the surrounding mountains. If you have time to spare, definitely come explore this place. Tower trail goes straight up btw.

Some very challenging hiking trails. Make sure you bring loads of water and a wide brimmed hat, because shade can be scarce. Some parts of the trail were quiet, mostly you could hear the highways.

Kenna Cartwright Nature Park is a gem for anyone into hiking, biking, or just soaking up views. The trail network is huge, with options for all skill levels, and the scenery — especially at sunset — is unreal. You get panoramic views of Kamloops, the rivers, and even Kamloops Lake from some spots. It’s dog-friendly too, which is a bonus. Downsides? Some trails are poorly marked, so it’s easy to get turned around if you’re new. Also, parts of the park are pretty exposed, so bring water and sun protection. Still, it’s one of the best places in Kamloops to get outside and feel like you’re miles away from the city.

This is the place to hike if you want an all-encompassing view of Kamloops from above. The trail doubles as a service road to the cellular towers on top of the mountain. Thus it is wide, smooth, and impossible to veer off course. The trail is very short but the gradient is steep all the way up the mountain. It's a hike that promises great rewards for little time and effort. Highly recommended.

So disappointing. Was in town for a wedding, decided to end the night at the casino. A couple groups of us went, the second group arrived at 120am. Approached the bar & was told last call was done at 130am. Started ordering for the group, got bounced to a different bartender bc one wanted to cash out, pass on the order and then was told sorry, cant serve you anymore its 130am. It was implied that they wanted to avoid more work for themselves. Tried a couple slot machines after and both smelled like spoiled food. Bizarre experience. Kamloops is cool though.

The person taking id was unfriendly. We always greet people positively. So we didn't stay long

Had lots of fun, lots of bonus games and a great lunch! Highly recommend!

Very nice customer service and the setting was clean, the choices of restaurants within the casino.

While playing poker, the dealer made a mistake and gave the turn to one of the guys he knew from before. That player took advantage of being the last to act and raised, even though he should have been the first to check or raise. We noticed the mistake, and the dealer admitted it was his fault, but no one did anything about it. The dealer was also shuffling the cards by hand, which is unusual since other casinos use machines for that. This is the worst casino I’ve ever been to.

Christie Falls is not just a destination, it’s an experience. The journey through the forest is adventurous and thrilling, with steep slopes, narrow paths, and rope sections that demand both caution and excitement. The trail is definitely treacherous in parts, but that’s what makes it so rewarding. Every step through the rugged terrain builds anticipation, and then, out of nowhere, you’re greeted with the breathtaking view of the falls. The cascading water surrounded by lush greenery is absolutely mesmerizing. It feels untouched, wild, and pure, a perfect escape for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. It was also amazing to witness rock climbers scaling the cliffs nearby, adding to the vibrant and adventurous vibe of the area. Christie Falls is one of those places that make you feel truly alive. If you enjoy hiking, a bit of adrenaline, and spectacular views, this spot should be high on your list. Highly recommend taking the journey, nature doesn’t get much better than this.

WARNING June 1st 2025. GRIZLY BEAR spotted living in the large cave at bottom of the falls. ANOTHER BEAR (unknown kind) living in the smaller cave at the bottom of the falls.

The hike from the trailhead to the falls is really two separate sections. The first portion is ~1km from the trailhead to the cliff. This portion has had some recent maintenance as numerous fallen trees have been cut and moved away from the path. This portion also contains small creek crossings with some small crafty bridges created to assist. Second portion from the cliff down is a more challenging section. This portion begins with ropes to assist down this steep section. I recommend that you do not bring a big dog or small Children down this portion. This was too steep for my Bernese Mountain Dog to attempt. 4X4 to the trailhead recommended. The road get worse the further you travel, and contains 1 relatively steep uphill section.

Absolutely gorgeous place a little bit of a harder hike in near the end of the trail. The road for the last 20km is worse than a logging road, but worth it.

This was a great hike. Keep your eyes 👀open for a white sign that says "Christie Falls" Just before the turn. Good parking, short walk in over the streem crossings then down a steep short section to the falls. Or stay up top too and walk to the end 🐕. The trail is recommended for people that have climbing gear or are decent free climbers for the short section. Otherwise just amazing. I wish we packed a bigger lunch. 😊

The hike was fun and interesting. You have to climb down to the waterfall using ropes and vice versa. However, the waterfall itself was underwhelming with little water coming down. Probably because it was the end of the summer. Maybe if we go here earlier it might have been better. Still, it’s a place worth to visit. *Update: I went here again in late spring and the waterfall was fantastic!! Pictures below.

The drive in to the trail head was more challenging/off roady than we expected. I wouldn't attempt it unless you have an SUV or other 4 wheel drive vehicle. The actual hike is pretty easy and short bur requires climbing down a very steep clifr with the assistance of ropes that have been tied by previous visitors. Still some amazing views from the top of the falls if you arent up for the scramble down/up.

Beautiful lake close to Kamloops, easy lake access and boat dock for boats an kayaks. Big lake , downfall always someone driving to fast making huge waves close to SUP s and kayakers :( . One my fav places to spend the day .

Stayed at the provincial park campground. Very clean and relatively quiet. Roads in campground paved and each site is gravel. Has a wonderful playground for kids. Nice big campsites and lots of little trails. Lake is very nice and calm. Really enjoyed our stay!

Public place to have a good time with friends or family. The facilities are good except the washroom which wasn’t up to standard. It’s also free to use. The map may tell you it’s closed but you should find out yourself

Lac Le Jeune is a peaceful and pretty lake, located within a Provincial Park of the same name in British Columbia. Beautiful at Sunrise and Sunset, otherwise it is quite average. I am uploading two photos taken at Dawn.

Very interesting place to learn about parrots. The keeper, Ray, gave very interesting facts about parrots and opens the eyes of visitors about the sad fact of deteriorating number of these birds. I'm so glad to learn about the program that this place run in caring for the parrots. Must visit place when in Peachland, BC.

Fantastic place. But don't come here if you're expecting a zoo. And if you're upset about birds being caged that's not what is happening here. It's run by a fantastic couple who will explain everything and teach you quote a bit about parrots. They're all rescues because of how many unwanted parrots there are in Canada alone. Without parrot island I suspect many of these birds would be abused or dead. It's open to public as birds are very expensive. You're coming here for a nice educational experience and to support a good cause. You get to see what you're supporting too. Think of it like you're donating to a charity, but you know exactly where your money is going. I saw some other comments about the birds biting, they tell you before you enter DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGERS NEAR THE CAGE. If you got bit and posted a negative review, you're actually just an idiot. Follow the rules, learn something new and donate to a good cause.

Thumbs up for the owners who make this possible. This is not a zoo nor attraction, but a real safehaven for neglected parrots. The owner himself would prefer all these birds in the wild and that no humans would have them as pets. These animals are to beautiful and intelligent to cage. Its nice to get the chance to see them and interact with them, but you feel that we shouldnt bring them up this way.

I visited the sanctuary pre COVID ( as they have been closed to the public since that time because Avian flu is high in there area). The facility is huge housing meny Large parrots. the parrots seem to be in adequate cages with lots of fresh food and water. This place is ran by an elderly couple. Very friendly and full of information . I can't imagine having to care for this meny birds. They are amazing and deserving of more help which they don't have. I only wish I lived closer.

Visited Parrot Island during our summer vacation with the kids. The owners are very nice people, passionate about the birds, and are very informative about what they are doing. This is a rescue facility and its amazing how the birds are affected and need to be loved and treated. They all have their own personalities and made us as parents laugh and the kids giggle and dance with them. We would definitely recommend people go see the birds, donate to the cause of the sanctuary, and become more educated about parrots. I agreed 100% with the owners; they should be left in the wild. Not as a pet

The family that runs this place is doing it for a good cause. The parrots are lovely creatures and misunderstood to be raised as pets. In reality you'll learn that these lovely creatures belong in the wild and millions become household pets; only to be given up later, as they can only be loyal to one individual person. The parrots loved us and tried to talk to us, that was a highlight of our trip.

So sad to see those birds caged up. I'd want to pluck my feathers too. Birds are funny and affectionate, but watch your fingers with some.

A very well maintained campground. We went here for a night with kids. The campsite is very clean and spacious. The washrooms at the campground are equipped with flush toilets and are hygienic. Night sky view is amazing as the trees in campsite are spaced. The lake has a very nice beach and a great day out picnic spot with groundhogs roaming around in the park. All in all a great peaceful place to be at.

Walking in this beautiful park during off-season is so peaceful and calming. The park attendants have done an amazing job of keeping the place clean and natural. I also love the fact that I am a senior , and they have some outhouses open in each loop.

The campground was so beautiful! The park rangers were super sweet and helpful which made our stay more enjoyable. There was a large group that was VERY loud during quiet hours and playing music late into the night. They were so loud that four different parties had complained about them. They also left food out which is a big no no when camping with the risk of bears. I applaud the park rangers for how well they handled the situation judiciously by removing the group from the campground.

Looking for an amazing Provincial Park camping spot? You have to go visit Monck! We arrived mid-day and the check-in staff was so friendly and kind. We went and set-up our site and we luckily got one with a view to the lake that had a little path down to a beach. Everything was clean and well-kept! The site was on the larger side which was great! The facilities were well maintained and clean. The park staff came by to ensure we were all set-up okay and came around later asking if we needed more firewood. We unfortunately had to cut our trip short as I came down with food poisoning but we want to come back for a full stay soon!

Super nice campground. All the toilets (including the outhouses) are flush toilets and kept very clean (just be aware there aren't showers). The site hosts are all lovely. Unfortunately our trip was very bad timing because it was in the middle of a heat wave (38°!), their water system was having issues so it wasn't clean water (okay for washing dishes but not okay for ingesting) and the lake had toxic algae blooms so swimming wasn't recommended. All of these things are obviously out of their control and not permanent problems. The only reason I took one star is because I wish the spots were more shaded.

One of our favorite places to camp (if not our top fave). Hosts are awesome and friendly, everything is always clean and well cared for, sites have space and trees between, noise curfew is well enforced to make it a great experience for families and those who enjoy a quieter setting. The algae bloom was cleared when we got there which was amazing!

The lake has algae in it that makes it unsafe to swim and fish when it is blooming. If you are planning on booking a site here and want somewhere to fish and swim, I would suggest booking elsewhere. We went while it was about 35°C weather and had to go to other lakes each day which took away from the camping experience. Other notes: - The tap water also unfortunately had manganese in it making it unsafe for consumption. - The campsites do not have many trees so the sites get a lot of sun. I would suggest bringing a tarp or multiple tarps and a lot of rope just to help make some shaded spaces on your site. - The park staff/rangers were very helpful and nice. - The lawn/beach/picnic area is beautiful and would be perfect for lawn games.

Such an amazing experience! We had a little zipper with us and Fish & Eggs did an amazing job with him! Looking forward to the next time when we can do more lines!

Booked the morning of for 2 of us to do the full 6 line tour. Loads of fun, and the only thing you need is bravery to make the first step off the platform. Things that help are a strap to keep glasses on your face, keeping hair tied back under your helmet so you get a clear view, clothing with zippered pockets to avoid dropping items, and the ability to do a short hike back up to the top when done. Absolutely worth the price, and a terrific adventure to add to your to-do list!

Awesome experience! Views were fantastic. Kudos to guides Twig and Vulture! They were great - explained everything in detail, had awesome personalities, even went extra with my son that got cold feet last minute. Highly recommend. Just a heads up that the road is no longer paved about 1km coming up to the location.

Loved it. It seems kinda like a goofy thing to do, but the views are gorgeous, and it's damn fun flying through the air. The staff are wonderful tour guides as well as extremely safety conscious and thorough. I'll definitely bring visiting friends/family on this very cool adventure, at least so I can do it again and again and again. Luv it!

I'm scared of heights so decided to conquer my fear of it by going on the bucketlist lines.. the highest and longest/fastest lines they had. I loved it! And will definetly be going back the next time im in peachland to do all 6 lines.

Took my girlfriend out to the winery to check it out and we were taken aback by how wonderful it all was. The vineyard itself is absolutley beautiful, got to admire the scenery as we ate a delicious lunch in the grass. The staff is so amazing and pleasant all the time, our server was an absolute delight!! The Chef definitely knew what he was doing, the food was to die for!!! Even managed to pair the meal up with the perfect bottle of wine, we will be coming back here again for sure! It's the perfect place to go for a excellent little date, I would recommend everyone in the area to go check it out and enjoy all that they have to offer!!

Amazing tasting of some great wines from Black Sage and Sumac Ridge. Jim was incredible with his knowledge and expertise of the wine making process. We learned so much and Jim made sure we had a great experience. Will definitely be returning!

Visited Sumac Ridge Estate Winery and tried a taster flight from Black Sage. I got the $8 flight but I didn't quite like it. I think I would have preferred the $15 as I don't like dessert wines, but I couldn't quite understand the French man who was explaining it to me because he had an accent + he was muffled by the mask.

We were just some smelly campers stopping in, but they treated us like gold, gave us the most delicious wine, and made us laugh. It was wonderful.

We didn't make an appointment but they were able to fit us in for a tasting. Our host John C was awesome, very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. He didn't mind at all that we'd brought our two young kids with us. He was very careful about following Covid-19 protocols, which we really appreciated. The wines were great and there were a variety of price points - we really liked the premium Black Sage label. Great view from the winery too.

We had a wonderful experience tasting today! Leighton, our service representative, was phenomenal! His friendly and energetic style were the perfect accompaniment the fantastic wines we tried! We will definitely be coming back!

Merritt downtown is a tourist destination. There is a very easy to find Visitor information. They provide a walking map to find Country & Western's Walk of Fame. The stars are framed upright, with handprint & signature (unlike Hollywood where you find them in a sidewalk). Some nice little shops and a bandshell that may have live music on weekends. Quaint little town but don't need more than a day or two stopover. It was 35-38C in July. Stay hydrated.

Super friendly staff! Cute nostalgic place with some souvenirs, local products, and donated knickknacks for sale. They also serve ice cream and have space for picnics out back.

Free charging here for your Tesla if the Tesla Chargers are out of order like today. You just need the standard adapter that came with your car.

we dropped in for information and were offered free coffee, lemonade and delicious home made baking (while it lasts). Lovely and knowledgeable staff, nice gifts made locally. A chance to meet some of the locals and start your trip to the interior with a friendly small town welcome.

Absolutely wonderful people, easily the most welcoming, friendly, and helpful info centre I have been to - which is saying something, as I've only ever had positive experiences with info centres! The ladies here really go above and beyond; they even, very kindly, mailed me something overnight when I forgot it behind after using the centre's bathroom, to ensure I would get it before I moved on to my next destination!

Amazing tourist info place with free lemonade and interesting things to see and buy. Stopped here to use the wash room (single stall) with the family and there was plenty to keep the interest while waiting my turn. :)

Extremely helpful. Benches in the back surrounded by a flower garden. Multiple picnic tables. Free wifi. Nice little spot.

We had an amazing time at Dirty Laundry ...the food, the wine & the atmosphere were all top notch. We enjoyed lunch with a view and had a great afternoon. Bob was a super host!!! Definitely worth the trip to Summerland!

Our visit was completely lovely from the moment we entered to room. Our tasting host was pleasant, knowledgeable and engaging. She managed to host three separate tastings with ease and shared the winery story with the group of us. Her delivery was funny while informative. The winery decor cleverly plays up the dirty laundry theme.

I came up to the Okanagan with a girlfriend and she wanted to visit a winery. Out of all the wineries up here I chose Dirty Laundry for her to visit. I have brought family from Germany here, so I knew she would enjoy this one. The wine tasting was good and for only $6!!! Viktoria was very informative and super friendly, when we were looking to purchase wine she came and asked if we need helping with any of our choices. After we were done wine tasting we sat out on the patio to listen to live music and have some pizza. Oh was the pizza ever good!!! And the views and ambience on the patio were beautiful. When we left my girlfriend said to me, thank you so much for bringing me to this winery, I loved it!! So sounds like my choice of wineries to visit was perfect!

Absolutely incredible place. We arrived on our travels from Ottawa, to find out sadly that no dogs were allowed on the patio. Sherri the Manager was fantastic and found us a spot to accommodate us and Lewis our Golden Doodle. Moreover, she went above and beyond with a bottle of the Vineyards Pinot Gris - gratis. An amazing spot and great customer service Sherri and love the vineyard.

Wow, wuat a hidden gem and concept! Excellent ratings, tastings, wine, atmosphere, pizza and smokehouse. If you wine touring finish here! Smokehouse and pizza are very impressive. Staff excellent and trained, red wines are excellent. We will be back. It's a goto for Summerland wine tastings!

This is one of my favourite wineries, consistently great wine and always a welcoming atmosphere! Recently got to experience their patio and shared a bottle of wine and a pizza and honestly did not want to leave! Can’t wait to go back!!

This was our first time, and I'm totally coming back. The pizza was awesome, and the view from the patio was incredible. We had to wait for a table, so we did the wine tasting, and I'm so glad we did. It was fun trying new wines. I can't wait to go back.

An excellent morning out while visiting the Penticton area! It’s always a great time to experience a historic train like this. The views along the route are fantastic, be sure to sit in the open cars on the valley side. The volunteers were great to chat with and they really have the whole operation running so smoothly.

->Fantastic steam engine excursion; Mid-ride disembarking process needs work<- Excited to get tickets for this excursion (how often do you get to ride behind a 1912 N-2-b class 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive, built by MLW for CPR) Beautiful sound! Lovely engine! Ride was from about 10:30 - 12:15 There's a "valley side" or a "canyon/mountain side". Pick the valley side or else your view will be hill and looking across other people's heads towards the valley. You don't get the option to stand up/move/change seats during the ride or at the mid-way point. At the end of the line, the engine uncouples and goes around to the other end of the train. Riders are invited to disembark "for 10 minutes" (there's a porta-potty) to take photos with the engine. But there's only 1 exit for the entire train. It took almost the entire layover time just to get all the people off the train, so by the time you got off, you had to get back in line to get back on. And you won't get any pictures with the engine, there's too many people. That was ridiculous, really. I would have MUCH preferred the option to disembark BEFORE the train goes out halfway across the bridge (for photos) because the only way you can get a photo of the train on the bridge is to wait around for the next excursion and wait here to get your photos. I think this part of the trip requires a re-think. Had some trouble at the station too, there are a set of about 10 wooden stairs but there is no anti-slip/visual markings on the edges of the steps and my partner in his excitement, missed a step and fell hard. Yellow lines on the edges of the steps might have prevented this and many of the riders are older folk...so maybe a thought, eh?

What a great experience! The volunteers are so friendly and knowledgeable. We loved it! Very fun!!! Book open air, valley side for the best views. Bring a blanket. :)

Very fun. Nice views and the conductor that explains local history and sights during the ride is a nice touch. All crew was incredibly friendly and answer any questions you have. Good value for money, actually seemed cheap to me for what you get ($33/pp). Great way to spend a couple hours.

A fantastic ride through history! The Kettle Valley Steam Railway is such a fun and unique experience! You get to ride an old steam train through beautiful Okanagan scenery — vineyards, orchards, and even over a huge trestle bridge with amazing views. You can choose an open or closed carriage, and the ride is smooth and relaxing. The coolest part? They have themed rides like the Great Train Robbery, where actors on horseback actually “rob” the train, just like in the Wild West. Super fun for both kids and adults! After the ride, you can enjoy lunch and hang out at the station. It really feels like a trip back in time. Highly recommend it if you’re anywhere near Summerland, BC. 🚂💨

This is the second time that we’ve visited this place. It didn’t disappoint! The experience was great. Booking up the seats was easy and travelling in the open carriage was wonderful in the hot weather.

Visiting from England with local relatives. We were blessed with a beautiful day at ~26°. We arrived just after lunch. Lots of car parking space. Minimal queuing - purchasing tickets in advance recommended. There are options within 1. closed carriages (large sliding windows open to help bring the outside in) and 2. open sided carriages which might be a better option on a hot day. Our carriage was very comfortable and the large window gave a nice through draft to keep everyone cool. The wonderful conductor with his microphone in hand, educated us on the railways history. The stories of the prolific bank robberies; things of interest that we might expect to see in the trip including bears. They had been seen in the area earlier in the day. How exciting. They played some good old country music in the background. It was great! The tour lasted about 1.5 hours. With commentary and breathtaking scenery, I'd highly recommend. I thought it was good value for money. Sometimes they have staged 'robberies' acted out and I'd have loved that. There was a bear but it quickly disappeared up a nearby tree however, just looking out for them was also great fun and even the big kids on board were loving it all. At the top of the track at.the half time point the engine swaps around ready for the return leg of the journey. At this point you can get out and stretch your legs, take photos and have a photo taken for you of your group at the front of the engine by one of the crew. All.part of the service amd a lovely momento of the day. In a.nutshell, definitely recommend a visit. Kids and adults alike will love this railway adventure that transports you back in time almost, when hearing all of those great stories. No dogs allowed. Great gift shop Clean washrooms. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Loads of parking space Reasonable ticket prices Great value for money. Awesome views. We also visited the dirty laundry winery for lunch before.this.trip, more about that next .... My photos don't do it justice, you have to go and see for yourselves. 🥰 Enjoy!!

Review Date: July 22nd, 2015 Interested in Canadian history, eh? On the strange and long journey through Canada, I didn’t expect us to end up at a Museum dedicated to Princeton and the surrounding area. We headed to Princeton for a few days before making that long trek home. While there, my cousin’s wife took us around to show us the little town. We ended up at this museum and learned a bit more about Canada. This museum, despite the small-looking size outside, offered a ton of information and historical artifacts on the inside. I was astounded by the amount of cool antique objects and small replicas that the small museum held. It was really cool to look over and learn about not just the history of another country but the story behind the local area. Compared to some other museums that I have been to, this one felt homely and welcoming. The few staff members made us feel really welcomed and answered any questions we had. Not sure what else to say about this place. It was a nice little history stop in our long journey. If you find yourself in Princeton with an afternoon free and you got a hankering for learning, this place won’t disappoint.

Very lovely collections of minerals and fossils. Did find it to be lacking in information compared to other small town museums I've visited but definitely still worth visiting if your in the area

If you are interested in Canada history, This is an amazing place! I wondered here around 4 hours, enjoyed all treasures on display. I learned many facts about the the town story, pioneers, mining, and the crazy gold rush. I will bring my friends here to enjoy the history of Princeton and District's unique heritage and culture.

Talk about a hidden gem! We were just looking for shade to park in and happened upon this little museum in the core of a quaint little town of Prinction and I was so glad I went and took a look! They have a huge collection of rock from multiple different people on lone to them. They have a ton of stuff from the history of the local area and a bunch of stuff from the old HBC fur trade company. Lots of knowledge tucked away here. I highly recommend check this place out with your family or friends. Don’t forget to walk around outside too the have so old fire trucks and mining equipment too!

Came through to see it but arrived too late in the day. We will be back though! Edit: One of the staff spotted us digging fossils on a hill and invited us in to see the collection. What a treat! The Pollard collection is a must see for anyone with any interest in geology or paleontology. Staff assisted us in our fossil hunting trip and directed us to several great locations. Managed to find us some decent flora fossils and one fantastic insect wing specimen!
