Moose Lake

Lake
Nature & Parks
Moose Lake is a serene and easily accessible destination, offering a peaceful hike along the shores of Maligne Lake. The trail leads through an ancient debris pile from a landslide, showcasing lichen-covered boulders and mossy trees. Visitors can explore the Moose Lake Loop or take the longer Bald Hills Hike for stunning forest views. Situated in British Columbia, it provides scenic views from VIA Rail's route and Yellowhead Highway.
A gorgeous, pristine lake in Mount Robson Provincial Park. There is only one small pullout along the lake with a boat launch. If you get the chance, get out on the lake in a boat or kayak. Venture to the other side and discover the creeks that run into the lake, the sandy beaches or an American Pika living in the rocks.
Tania S — Google review
Wonderful Lake. Brings memories of my Grandfather. He had a store and post office at the west end of the lake on the rail line at Red Pass.
Bill L — Google review
Moose Lake is a breathtaking stop along the Yellowhead Highway that feels like stepping into a postcard. Surrounded by rugged mountains and framed by the towering peaks of the Rockies, the lake stretches out in a long, peaceful ribbon of deep blue-green water. On a calm day, the reflections of the mountains and clouds are so vivid they look almost painted. This is a place where you can truly slow down and soak in nature. It’s perfect for pulling over during a road trip, stretching your legs, and taking in the scenery. The shoreline is easily accessible in spots, making it a great place for photos, a picnic, or just sitting quietly to listen to the gentle lap of the water. If you’re lucky, you might spot wildlife in the area — moose sightings do happen, and you’ll often see birds skimming the surface. There are no big crowds or noisy facilities here, which adds to the serenity. Facilities are minimal, so it’s best to bring your own snacks, water, and anything you need. The beauty of Moose Lake is its simplicity — untouched, peaceful, and a reminder of how incredible British Columbia’s landscapes are. If you’re driving through Mount Robson Provincial Park, this is a must-see stop. Whether you stay for 10 minutes or an hour, it’s the kind of view that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Was there on my trip back from settle.what a calm place to relax(other than the highway 16 😂)
Karan S — Google review
Such a stunning lake! 💙 Perfect to relax during a long roadtrip. There's also a public toilet.
Marie — Google review
Stunning lake , the only lake on the side of Fraser river. Nice view and some relaxing time during road trip
Hassan M — Google review
We passed the Moose Lake in the province of British Columbia while doing a VIA Rail trip from Vancouver to Jasper National Park in Alberta, in July 2019. The Canadian National's Rail line and the Yellowhead Highway run along the north shore of the lake and we got very scenic views of the lake from the train window. Moose Lake is the only lake along the course of the Fraser River.

Stunning lake. Very blue and shadows make for a wonderful changing vista. Shame we couldnt walk pound it more (possibly can from other vantage points)

Visitor Centers
Grande Cache Tourism & Interpretive Centre, located 13 km northeast of Sulphur Gates, is a valuable resource for travelers. The on-site museum showcases dinosaur tracks and fossils found in the area, along with archaeological artifacts and profiles of early settlers. Visitors can also learn about the flora and fauna of Willmore Wilderness Park. The friendly staff are passionate about Grande Cache and offer a warm welcome to guests, providing information and even guiding visitors to enjoy scenic views from the building's second floor.
This place alone would almost be worthy of a visit to Grande Cache. Lots of displays, great information, a good gift shop, washrooms, views and a cool virtual reality setup where my boys were able to get up close with a dinosaur. Outdoor museum area as well. If you're travelling through, pay a visit.
Bryan N — Google review
Stopped to use the washroom (which was immaculate), ended up visiting for a time with staff. They were very friendly and conversational. Beautiful local artist prints and gifts for purchase. This visitor center has a little of everything - camping gear, gift shop, maps, brochures, museum, etc.
Shauna B — Google review
The folks at the interpretive centre were informative, helpful and friendly. We had a great chat. You can get all sorts of maps and brochures about activities in the area. Along with historical and local info the centre has a small selection of hiking supplies and of course Grande Cache souvenirs.

Mount Robson Welcome Centre

Tourist information center
The Mount Robson Visitor Centre is a must-visit spot on your Vancouver to Jasper journey, located just a short drive from Rearguard Falls. As the tallest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, it offers breathtaking views and an opportunity to learn about Mount Robson Provincial Park. The center provides amenities such as a cafe with stunning views, free WiFi, and helpful staff. Visitors can also enjoy a spacious deck facing Mount Robson and access to water fountains for reducing plastic waste.
The Mount Robson Visitor Centre is much more than just a quick stop – it's an experience in itself and a definite must-visit if you're in the area. We were truly impressed with everything it had to offer! Downstairs, they have a really nice exhibit that provides fascinating insights into the park and its natural history. It's well-designed and engaging. On the upper level, you'll find a lovely gift shop stocked with a great selection of souvenirs, but the real showstopper up here is the gorgeous view you get right from inside! Just next door, there's another building where you can grab even more gifts or some food if you're feeling hungry, which is super convenient. The people working at the centre seemed genuinely nice and helpful too, adding to the positive atmosphere. But for us, the absolute highlight was the very nice outdoor deck on the back of the building. This is the spot for some extra special pictures of Mount Robson – the views are absolutely unparalleled from there. Overall, whether you're just passing through or planning to explore the park, the Mount Robson Visitor Centre is a fantastic place to stop, learn, shop, and soak in some truly spectacular scenery.

100% worth a visit and certainly is one of the highlights of my trip around the Canadian Rockies. Kinney Lake is a must see and is well worth the 1-1.5hr hike. It is not too challenging or overly steep and the path is very well marked. It is super convenient to access the trail from the Berg Lake trail head car park.
Adam D — Google review
Mount Robson is a breathtaking destination in the Canadian Rockies, offering stunning scenery. This majestic mountain stands at an impressive height and is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers. With its picturesque surroundings and abundant wildlife, Mount Robson Provincial Park provides a unique experience for visitors. - *Scenic Views*: The mountain offers breathtaking views, especially from the Visitor Centre's viewing deck. - *Hiking Trails*: Explore the numerous trails, including the popular Kinney Lake trail, which offers scenic views and exciting hiking experiences. - *Wildlife Viewing*: Spot wildlife such as elk, deer, and bears in their natural habitats. Cafe Mount Robson is a convenient and delicious stopover for travelers, offering a variety of menu options. *Food Quality*: The cafe serves delicious food, including sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.
Trudy S — Google review
Standing at 3,954 meters (12,972 feet), Mount Robson is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, its snow-capped summit attracting climbers year-round. With scenic lakes, abundant wildlife, hiking trails, and rich flora, it’s a must-see for anyone who loves nature. Welcome Centre, a first stop for most visitors, where souvenirs line the shelves and rangers share tips about the park, the mountain, and its many trails. Its porch is the best vantage point for the clearest, most majestic view of the Mount Robson. The Centre has a museum which contains many interesting facts about the state park’s history, mountain climbing attempts, and the surrounding wildlife.
Culinistanbul — Google review
We visited Mt. Robson on our drive from Clearwater to Jasper. It's the highest mountain in the Rockies. The Welcome centre tells a bit about the history of the first voyage of discovery, as well as the geology. There's a store and some toilets inside as well. Also: WiFi! From the deck at the back there's a great view of the mountain itself. But for the best pictures of yourself and the mountain (as I'm not a big fan of fences in picture), I would move to the spacious lush green field behind the centre.
Elske H — Google review
I only stopped here for a short rest, but the mountain views completely amazed me. Even on a warm day, there was still snow glistening at the top, making the scenery stunning. It turned out to be an unexpected highlight of my trip, worth pausing to enjoy.
Oil G — Google review
Very helpful staff. Berg Lake trail campsite explanation & water for the climb up to Emperor Falls - most appreciated!
Marla H — Google review
On a good (mostly cloudless) day, you can make a stop here, buy snacks or ice cream and have a view of Mount Robson. Great for those that are not planning on going further in or hiking. You still get to see the tallest Mountain in the Canadian Rockies.

Such a great crew working here! We had a really good experience off and on the river. A very extensive set of covid guidelines makes you feel very safe. The river experience was unforgettable. We were a family of 4 with 13 and a 10 year old and fell very safe while getting a doze of wild river...wild enough for me, anyway. The kids were beyond excited. The views are jaw dropping....if you are anywhere in the vicinity, it is so worth the stop.
Olga C — Google review
Had a fantastic experience, beyond my expectations. Small boats, so major involvement, the guide was quick witted and professional. The rivers were fast, the scenery top notch. We were professionally outfitted, so warm and safe as we went full out paddling. Loved it!
Ruth R — Google review
We had a fantastic time The scenery was unbelievable. The guides were very informative and helpful, I would highly recommend wild Blue Yonder. Thanks again 🤟

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! We had an absolute blast on Friday July 25 with Gina and Yo on our rafting trip with our 3 children and my husband. From the reservation process to the drop off back at the base, our experience was fantastic. This family ran business takes care of all your needs in an extremely professional and caring manner and were sure to check in with our children regularly to ensure they were having fun and were warm enough on the trip. They are knowledgeable and experienced on the river and knew all the ins and outs of rafting. We had a fantastic river run with lots of white water and technical paddling to keep us engaged and the kids loved every minute. All gear was provided and was clean and warm and upon exiting the river to head back to base camp, we were surprised with a cup of delicious hot chocolate and a fresh baked cookie! What a way to end a trip! Photos were taken during our excursion and were available for purchase a day after we rafted and looked great. Will DEFINITELY be back and book in again!

We had such an incredible time with Wild Blue Yonder Rafting. The staff was personable and professional. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the trip had a great balance of adventurous rafting mixed with relaxing moments to soak in the beauty of nature. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for both excitement and tranquility on the river.
Ron W — Google review
Well, as someone who can not swim and went on this ride as a personal challenge I can say this. I started out very nervous but our guide was wonderful in putting me at ease. Even had the ability to read body language when I was a little panicked on the first part of the ride. The last three quarters were beautiful, exciting and fun! I enjoyed myself enough that i plan on going again next summer with my husband and son. They were very knowledgeable about the area, history and were able to answer most questions. I highly recommend for any beginner adventurer. :-)

I cannot recommend wild blue yonder enough! Gina and Yo were absolutely incredible from start to finish. We had family visiting from Ontario and this was such a great experience to do together. It was the highlight of their trip! If you have a chance to do it I HIGHLY recommend!

Mount Robson Provincial Park

State Parks
Mount Robson Park is a breathtaking expanse of protected wilderness that beckons outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Nestled in British Columbia, this park is not only the second-oldest provincial park in the region but also home to Mount Robson, the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies at an impressive 3,953 meters (12,969 ft).
Mount Robson Provincial Park is indeed a stunning destination, especially on a road trip between Jasper and British Columbia. The towering peaks, serene lakes, and breathtaking views make it unforgettable. However, your experience highlights an important consideration: winter travel can be challenging due to icy roads, slippery conditions, and unpredictable weather. The lack of gas stations within 100 km and the closure of many hiking trails and waterfalls during winter further add to the difficulty. For those planning a trip, visiting in the summer is definitely advisable. The warmer weather ensures safer roads, open trails, and a more enjoyable experience exploring the park’s natural beauty.

Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Mount Robson Provincial Park offers something for everyone. Its stunning beauty and diverse ecosystem make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

This was by far one of my favorite hikes of the trip. We only made it to the lake but even that was worth it. Highly recommend a visit.
Michael L — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever visited. The views here are unparalleled, and there's tons of wildlife.
Noah D — Google review
I come here every summer when I can. One of the most amazing trails on Earth. If you only have a couple of hours, a trip to Kinney Lake is well worth it. If you have a couple of days, the trip to Berg Lake (and Snowbird Pass) are breathtaking. Must book a loooooooooooong time in advance.
Adam J — Google review
Honestly the berg lake trail is one of the nicest hikes I've done. We went up to emperor falls and back (32km+) in one day, and although it was totally worth it it was quite heave on the knees. I recommend everyone to do the hike, as I can only imagine what Berg lake itself will look like, but make sure you got a few days time so you can appreciate it in all it's glory without having to walk around with a knee brace for a week after 😉
Pepijn H — Google review
Beautiful Jaw dropping mountains and breathtaking views. It's one of the most beautiful part of the yellow head highway drive towards BC. There are a few shops for travellers and tourist to patronize. Also several areas for photo lovers. Ensure your vehicle is in good shape as help may not come as quickly as you desire if needed. Cellular network signals are very poor around these area due to the mountains. Ensure your vehicle has enough gas to avoid disappointment. Not many gas stations are available around the mountain.
Tolu B — Google review
Such a beautiful place! Here you get to see snowy and really tall mountains! And because the Mount Robson Provincial Park is near BC and Alberta, you could play around and you jump from province to province, that sounds cool to me!

Valemount Visitor Centre is conveniently located just minutes from the town core and offers a variety of trails suitable for different biking experiences. Visitors have praised the helpful staff, particularly mentioning Ernie, who provided valuable insights and assistance with trip planning. The center's clean facilities and informative brochures make it a great stop for travelers looking to learn more about Valemount and its surrounding attractions. Although lacking air conditioning, the friendly atmosphere and helpful resources make it a worthwhile visit for anyone exploring the area.
Stopped by Valemount Visitor Centre for a bathroom break on the way to Jasper. The centre is clean, bright and airy. We picked up lots of guides and brochures of nearby places of interest.

We usually stop here for 10-minutes on road trips. A good spot to let out the kids or dog to stretch the legs as there is a large field and it's far enough away from the main roads. A few picnic benches of seating nearby as well.
Bryson H — Google review
I stopped to get some information, I didn't leave with much. I had to wander around the store to see what the town was about. I asked all the questions, I thought the lady could have shared more helpful information of what the town offered. I left there wondering why I even stopped.
Heather G — Google review
What a joke of a town. Safe to say I’ll never be back — the name Valemount will always be a bitter reminder. Found a “futuristic” self-cleaning public toilet… reality? A malfunctioning mess. Filthy inside, couldn’t even wash my hands. Feels more like a cheap PR stunt — probably a bribe by Telus to keep other phone providers out of town 😂. And that’s another issue. I drove 30 extra minutes just to get here, hoping for a decent place to dine and maybe some cell service. Instead, I found a town that fails in every direction. Dining? Fail. Service? Fail. Experience? Complete fail. Valemount, the “pit stop” you’ll regret.
Az Z — Google review
Great place for a quick stop scenery was amazing
Howard R — Google review
The Valemount Visitor Centre is fantastic! The building is adorable, and the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Like another reviewer mentioned, they are genuinely excited to share their knowledge with you. The gift shop is a gem, offering lots of unique magnets and great prices on items. Some of the same items Jasper and Banff carry, but cheaper. They have shelves lined with brochures of other nearby places, and the staff helped me discover new spots I’d love to check out in the future. Overall, a must stop if you’re in the area!

Amazing location and view. The walls are thin, but my neighbors were pretty quiet. One of the windows didn't work which is fine for the weather I had, but with no AC or fans, it could be an issue. The host did offer to come fix it, which was super nice.

It's a very nice place. Very clean. It's just keen eared to the next door apartment so it's good to have some earplugs in the bag. But I definitely recommend this place !

very minimal.. no freezer for example!

We stayed here in June 2025 for a night while traveling from Alberta. It is a lovely place located just a couple kilometres out of town. The area is quiet with lots of birds in the forest to fill the air with songs. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessities for cooking. There were windows to open on both sides of the cabin to allow a cool evening breeze to flow through the. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. There was no air conditioning so it could get a bit warm in the cabin on a hot summer day but the evenings are generally cool so that helps to get a good sleep. I would highly recommend this place overall.

Waterfalls
Helmcken Falls, the fourth highest waterfall in Canada, is a majestic natural wonder located in Wells Gray Provincial Park, British Columbia. The falls drop 141 meters into a canyon and are fed by the Murtle River. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from a well-maintained viewing platform or take an 8km round trip hike along the Helmcken Falls Rim Trail for a closer look.
The area from the car park to the waterfalls has benches and open space. We had lunch and let our kittens run around for a bit! The platform has been expanded to a larger platform and has great views of the falls! The Cone at the bottom was still in great shape but has some brown bits - went around 2pm on a weekend and was not busy at all

Very accessible. They have parkinf for car & RV/ campers. Toilets re available everywhere. This waterfall is gorgeous & amazing. A must to visit & trekking there. U can trekking further to the end of the trail. Really nice view & less tourists.

Helmcken Falls offers a stunning view with its dramatic drop into a deep canyon. The viewpoint is just a short, flat walk from the parking lot, making it easily accessible for all visitors. There are restroom facilities near the lot, and the viewing platform gives clear, wide views of the falls and surrounding cliffs. On a good day, the mist rising from the base adds to the atmosphere. Beautiful waterfall surrounded by rock formations formed due to volcano, been here multiple times during winter and during spring and the waterfall always surprises with its views. Must visit if driving to Jasper/mount Robson/clearwater if driving along hwy-5 and there is lots of camp sites / RV sites and Cabins available in and around hwy-5.

Great place to stop! Coffee shop, visitor centre and lovely gift shop with local items, all in the old train station.

Nice place and friendly staff. The gift shop has very unique things. You have to ask to have a look at the train model, it‘s amazing!

What we thought would be a whistle stop on our VIA Rail journey from Jasper to Prince George turned out to be a much longer halt at the McBride Rail Station. We were probably waiting for a freight train to pass. So we were allowed to get down and stretch our legs at McBride. We found the building to be quite interesting because of the Visitor Centre being located here. We found quite a good collection of free pamphlets and maps of the interesting places of British Columbia and particularly of the Rocky Mountains. There is also a gallery of paintings and art works done by the local artists on display, the 'Whistle Stop Gallery’. There is also a café and coffee shop called ‘The Beanery’.

Park
Bowron Lake Provincial Park is a vast natural retreat that offers campsites, cabins, and river access for activities such as canoeing, swimming, and fishing. The park features a 116km canoe circuit along the Isaac, Cariboo, and Bowron Rivers. This multi-day wilderness paddle takes about six to ten days to complete. Visitors can rent canoes, kayaks, and carriers at the park.
Provincial campground beautiful and well looked after. Did the West side of the circuit with my wife and kids (8, 10 &12). Absolutely gorgeous and doable with minimal paddling skills. Portages and campsites seem to be well maintained. Many rules to follow and make sure you know before you go. That said, compared to Wells Gray canoe trips, the rangers here seem very scarce and unengaged. They do not do any of the things we are used to at Wells Gray like check on people, clean the outhouses or even supply toilet paper. Seems like we could have gotten away with just about anything against the rules and they would have never known or cared. That said, this is a great family trip.

It's a great place for canoeing. No need to own a canoe or finish a circuit (rentals are available for novices). Just bring mosquito repellent.

This July will mark my dad and I completing backcountry circuit for the sixth time. What an amazing adventure. A true moment to disconnect. Absolutely perfect!!!!!
Galen K — Google review
We took our canoe and did the whole circuit in 6 days 5 nights. The weather was not all good everyday. We paddled through some purring rain a couple of days. But the shelter at #28 was a awesome. Everyone shared the fire place, dried their clothes while maintaining social distance. We saw moose and other wild life. The sun came out for two days during our trip and made the lake and the view look soooo beautiful! There are lots of sleeping shelters and cooking shelters along the way if you don't want to get wet. Otherwise, all the camp sites are good. Bring a tarp with you and prepared to get wet. It's an awesome wilderness canoeing and camping experience!

1. Fairly priced high quality rentals. We rented wheels and our friends rented the whole kit. Everything was ready to go and well maintained. 2. Well kept facilities by people that care. The park itself is immaculate and the people make the difference. I lost my hat and the staff mailed it back to me without hassle. 3. The best trip you could ever do. The team here regulate the traffic so well that you feel alone in the park which allows you to fully take in easily one of the best experiences of your life.

Located about 113km east of Prince George, Ancient Forest/Chun T'oh Whudujut Provincial Park is a relatively new park established in 2016. It offers two trails, including a 900m boardwalk. The park features an incredible hiking trail that takes visitors through an old forest, showcasing majestic trees, prehistoric plants, and beautiful waterfalls. The elevated boardwalk was meticulously built by volunteers over three years and offers accessibility for all abilities.
Amazing stop if you’re near by you MUST check it out. Great walk through ancient growth. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this trail happen!

Amazing spot. So lush and peaceful. The old trees and ground foliage are incredible. Grew up in Jasper and made it here for the first time during the wildfire. Set an hour aside on your trip past this place and go connect with the ancient forest and disconnect from everything else. Thanks to the trail builders for making this place accessible and well protected.

A must stop if you are in the area. The history of the trees is fascinating and awe inspiring given their age. The board walk is well maintained and makes for a gentle walk with benches along the way if you need to rest. Highly recommend if you are driving by and have the time to visit.

Enjoyed an awesome day with my mom hiking up to the ancient tree. The beginning is a steep slope that reminds you you are out of shape but we thoroughly enjoyed wandering through the paths amongst the giants of the forest.

Excellent place for a stretch. Definitely worth a visit. The trails are all wood plank with shingles for grips. Still you need to have proper footwear. The kids had a blast and we have quick hikers and we did the whole loop to the waterfall and big tree in an hour. The views are amazing. The trees are stunning. Recommended. They also have a gazebo and picnic tables. No garbage cans so prepare for that. There are two outhouses that seemed clean.
Richard K — Google review
My 82 year old grandfather and I did the hike yesterday. It was very beautiful and peaceful, to hear nothing but the trees creaking, the water flowing from the creek and the birds chirping around us it definitely reminds you to stop and slow down. The sky opened up on us just as we were coming down from the waterfall. Thank goodness for the shingles on the wooden planks or else we would've been slipping and sliding our way down the mountain. I can't wait to come here again.

For those seeking an unforgettable adventure, Kinuseo Falls in Monkman Provincial Park is a must-visit destination. Located a 14-hour drive north of Vancouver, these stunning waterfalls soar to an impressive height of 197 feet, even surpassing the famous Niagara Falls. The name "Kinuseo" means "fish," reflecting the rich trout population in the waters below.
The Falls was stunning. The pool was beautiful. For photographers there are perfect clearings to get a good view for your camera. The trail was decent. Maybe half hour walk to get the best view. Some less good views at less walking distance.

Extremely beautiful, clean trails, two pit toilets and decently accessible trails to different viewing points! Parking lot and picnic are are also beautiful and well kept !
Lacey F — Google review
Love these falls. The main viewing platform was closed for repairs so that was disappointing however the river and what could be seen of the majestic falls was fantastic. There are side trails that you can take lower down however I had a puppy and my granddaughter with me so did not want to take any chances. There are no guard rails on these trails and it was slippery with the rain and leaves on the ground.
Rose O — Google review
It's quite beautiful. You can't see much of the falls from the viewpoint, you need to go down to the bottom for that. It is a trip worth making.
Bryden K — Google review
Only could see falls from Upper Viewing area - confusion about which trail will be safe to go down to see actual fall Still, it's wonderful drive on Forest Road. Check weather before you leave Tumbler Ridge.
Samuel — Google review
Waterfall lived up to expectations in terms of pure beauty, enormity, and remoteness. A real gem that is not overdeveloped so you can have space to take it in. Great platform above which is accessible to all but also a few trails to get an upper view and a view from the river below. Thus allows a great perspective. Very out of the way but the falls is a gem in a park and area filled with a treasure chest of natural beauty.

Barkerville Historic Town & Park is a captivating living museum that transports visitors back to the Gold Rush era. Established in 1858 after gold was discovered in the Fraser River, this vibrant town quickly blossomed into a bustling hub of activity, thanks to Billy Barker's remarkable find at Williams Creek.
Was a great time! Last time I visited I was 13 years old and I was fortunate enough to take my 13 year old son there. It was great to share a childhood memory with my own child! Barkerville is an interesting trip that is fun and informative. The bakery is a must stop and take the walk up to Richfield courthouse. A visit here is a step back in time and well worth the drive.
Shereen Z — Google review
Had an excellent time. It had been years since I was here. The volunteers who work here are amazing. Please be kind to them. The bakery is definitely worth a visit. Very tasty treats. Plan to attend some of the shows, the characters are good and it's fun for all ages. I think I appreciate it more as an adult but definitely great for kids. You can easily spend a few hours here. Check out the blacksmith and get yourself a steak turner. They were very popular when we visited. (They have left and right handed ones). Fun fact, you can also book a stay at Barkerville and stay in their hotel or cabin. It's private and the interior is not available for viewing to the general public.

We had an amazing full day at Barkerville! It is truly a very well done historic town, larger than I expected with many many things to see. We enjoyed an incredible guided tour that was performed by one of the actors of Barkerville. I can highly recommend the little bakery in town with sweet and savoury treats and attending the theatre show at 2pm that was a wonderful interactive experience. Having been there I would happily visit again!
Lisa B — Google review
I had a wonderful experience going back in time to relive a historical event. The staff was friendly and engaging, staying in character throughout the day. We arrived at 9 am, but next time, I would aim for 9:30 or 9:45 am since everything doesn’t open and start until 10 am. The facility was clean and well-maintained. This was a family adventure, and our kids really enjoyed themselves. Keep in mind that it can get pricey if you decide to purchase everything, so be prepared for that.
Regan F — Google review
A great historic experience. Barkerville is a delight to walkthrough and explore, the actors are great at what they do, and are a delight to communicate with. There's plenty of things to buy and eat, to immerse yourself further. Me and my wife went there on a Saturday and got a special treat of hiking with a guide (acting as an actual historic figure of the era) to Jack town, the immersion in history and culture of the time period is on point and maintained with a lot of care respect
Sviet S — Google review
Had the best time here with my 6 year old and some family friends! We did 2 days. The first day we arrived after 4pm, so we just walked the streets and looked at everything. Some stores were still open, but things start to quiet down at this time. We came back the next day at 10. My son enjoyed the 1030 school house presentation and we booked tickets for the horse carriage ride, which you should do ASAP as they book up. We hit the bakery, which had the BEST Boston cream donuts and pistachio Macrons! The Strauss Co coffee shop had fantastic coffee, and for $8 you buy a tin cup, they personalized it with name and date, and you get free refills all day! The coffee was really tasty. We enjoyed looking at each exhibit and really enjoyed all of the characters acting as well. The Pickwick assembly was hilarious and historically founded. I would suggest getting a schedule at the welcome centre and following the paid actors around as they act out historical scenes. We got to learn all about how water wheels were used to dredge the river and there was a big drum circle at 5. Highly recommend sitting for a photograph at the photo shop. They have a huge selection of props and costumes. It was pricey, but a really good keepsake, just book early because they only have so many bookings in a day. There is a discovery tray to practice gold panning, for children under 7 or so I wouldn't waste money doing actual gold panning. There is lots of places to purchase food, but I would suggest bringing a picnic, there were several shady spots to have one. Parking was free.
Stephanie G — Google review
Spent the day there for the first time. It's a very special place. It is, I guess, an open air museum, but there's something more to it. It's as if the day goes by naturally in Barkerville, the employees are busy working, either printing, forging things, taking piano lessons, randomly. It's as if they couldn't really see the visitors sometimes, and just live and go on with their day. It felt very natural, and this is what I loved the most about it. I stayed until the late afternoon as the town got quieter, to join the drum circle with Mike and Cheryl, and it was such an ideal conclusion. A shame that most visitors didn't stay for this occasion and walked by. Especially since it was National Indigenous People Day. The pastries at the bakery were also pretty good, I didn't get to try the rest in the other shops.

Barkerville is a jewel to visit, and break from your typical activities in this area for which you probably came into Quesnel area -- camping, fishing, hiking, hunting,... It is really nice to see that we managed to preserve one of historical sites and have an active program in presenting history of bc. It is not usual, walk around and read writings place. Barkerville offers live street shows, theater show, interpretive tours, and some nice food. We tried their bakery, and local ice cream. Nothing to complain about with our choices. They do have general store, restaurants, including Chinese one, and China Town to visit. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to make a break in it's voyage or regular activities.

Going from Barkerville to this was a bit of a letdown. It is free and maintained but lacks that wow factor. Few houses and almost everything was locked up. I thought the general store would be open and selling gifts but no. Don't forget to donate to help them spruce this place up. Not dog friendly.

What a beautifully well maintained historical site! We met Jordan who was working there the day we stopped and he was absolutely fantastic, energetic and knowledgeable! I do wish when we went to Barkerville that they would have mentioned or even suggested a stop here as they are both important historical sites. The cabins are a wonderful addition.

What a great part of our history. I met Sharon, a caretaker and herself a part of our history as she's been involved with Cottonwood House as well as Barkerville for 45 years. When she told me that, I mentioned she may have been at Barkerville when I was there as a child. She shared some stories and helped us get to Barkerville. What an absolute gem of a woman and I can't thank her enough. She loves what she does and it showed which warmed my heart. Easy trail, not much change on elevation, view is great. I go there almost every week with kids and each time we feel differently. Great place to go outside breathing fresh air and spending time with family and pets.

A really serene and beautiful place. We come here to watch the sun rise at least once per winter. Dog-friendly trails, (please keep your animals leashed, not everyone wants to say hi to your dog or has friendly animals,) public outhouses/restrooms, lots of parking, and unbelievable views all within a 12 minute drive of West Quesnel! Do note that depending on the time of year, the conditions can be difficult and/or very wet and muddy. When the snow and ice builds up, navigating the trail can be difficult, and if it's extremely cold, the wind blowing up the cliffs *hurts!* Wear appropriate gear, including hiking boots, as it's a moderately difficult, albeit short hike to the end. But, again, well worth it for the view. :)
Aatu K — Google review
I really enjoyed this easy hike. The trail is well kept. From HooDoos to an amazing view
Louise N — Google review
A short drive west of Quesnel followed by an easy 15 minute walk brings you to the Pinnacle Park viewpoint. While there were good views of the valley and river below, we couldn’t see the hoodoos that well since they were below us. An interesting stop nonetheless.
Herb G — Google review
It’s a short 1km stroll from the parking area to the viewpoint, or a bit longer if you take the trail along the bluff. The bluff actually drops straight down much of the way, so you’d not want to take that side route if you have people who aren’t cautious. The main trail is 1-2 meters wide and smooth gravel. It’s an excellent trail with gentle hills. The pinnacles are beautiful and well worth seeing. They look like the hoodoos at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. When you reach the bluff overlooking the hoodoos, you can walk to the left and right a ways to see the hoodoos from different angles.
Nancy S — Google review
This place is absolutely incredible. The walk is very easy to get there and if you don't want to do the whole loop, it's only about 30 minutes round trip if you head back the same way after seeing them!
Clayton A — Google review
It was very cool to see the Hoodoos but the signage is not very good. Parks Should do a better job. When you walk along the main trail you will come to a billboard sign put up by the Parks. Turn left there and walk towards the chain-link fence then turn right at the fence and walk along the fence. You will see some of the Hoodoos on your left a few minutes down the trail. You will then come up to a sign that says turn left but it's a bit confusing because they're sort of a couple of roads. Go left but make sure you go along the fence trail. What you want to do is go back and make sure you are against the fence and walk along the fence still because the main hoodoos are in this section. You will think that you saw them in the first section but those are the smaller ones there are bigger ones in the second section but you will miss them if you don't go along the fence line.

Huble Homestead Historic Site is a charming place with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are genuinely interested in the history of the town. The general store offers a variety of local crafts and items, including the recommended Huble berry jam. The well-rebuilt buildings and costumed people create an immersive experience, reminiscent of a smaller Barkerville. Despite the lack of animals during one visit, it remains a scenic spot with opportunities to enjoy hot lunch and drinks at the restaurant.
I really enjoyed my visit here. My tour guide offered a comprehensive history of the buildings in the homestead, I was able to order a delicious lunch at the general store, and the trail next to the river made for a fun, short hike. If you like heritage sites, this location is definitely worth a visit.

Our 3rd visit here. Always scenic. No animals out this visit sadly but today was the second to last day of the season. There's no Halloween event this year sadly but it's a fun way to spend an afternoon, great for kids to learn some homestead facts. The hot dogs are great, and be sure to stop at the General Store and get the Huble Jam (raspberry, rhubarb and Saskatoon berry) YUM!
Mia C — Google review
Cute little homestead. I liked that they had little cards that were quick to read to give you some info, but not so much you couldn't read it all before the kids ran off. They also had some games like horseshoes, badminton, bocce, and croquet. The candy in the store was reasonably priced. There's a covered area with picnic tables which would be good for a picnic. The one thing to note is that you have to park at the top of a hill and walk down (well, you could drop people off, but someone needs to walk down). It was worth the hour or so we spent there.

I feel weird about homesteads on treaty land, also at a time when my own people were still in horrible conditions it make it difficult to enjoy this time period. HOWEVER: The staff was SUPER friendly and knowledgeable- and genuinely interested in the time period and the town of PG. I told them they saved the experience for me more than once. The General store is adorable- with a ton of local crafts and items. I recommend the Huble berry Jam [the one with mixed local berries].

Cottonwood Island Nature Park in Prince George, British Columbia is a beautiful wooded park located along the Nechako River. It offers walking trails, a boat launch, and a picnic shelter for visitors to enjoy. The park is perfect for family outings, with opportunities to explore the trails and admire tree carvings while taking in scenic river views. Additionally, visitors can engage in various activities such as walking, cycling, bird watching, and potentially spotting wildlife within the park's natural surroundings.
Visited the nearby BC Central Train Museum then walked the paths around Cottonwood Island Nature Park. Found twelve of the twenty carvings. Trail isn't that well marked and there are no maps available. I used google maps which helped a bit but my wife used her Pokemon app and darn it kept us on all the trails and alerted us as we approached carvings. We thought finding twelve out of twenty was good. Locals we talked to say some carvings have been vandalized by tourist.

This is one of the amazing parks I have ever been. The butty is never ending. If you head there in summer or spring you will face squiralls jumping around chasing food and nuts around the trees and sometimes with a foot distance on your side. Highly recommend for a walk in spring and summer. DONT FORGET TO HAVE OFF with you as mosquitos are WILD!!

Beautiful scenery and a close drive, bike ride, or walk from most parts of the city. Excellent trails, though as of mid-June 2022 some are flooded due to water levels in the Fraser or Nechako Rivers. Assortment of wildlife to be seen - mostly birds during my visit - and be sure to stop and appreciate the tree bark carvings along the trails.

Oh man, what a beautiful park this is. It's huge! It spans over such a large area, and the Fraser river is right there too! Great spot for outings, picnics, whatever you want to do! The exploration place is also right here, so that would make for a nice day outing. The scenery here is just astonishing. The views are beautiful here, and the paths are clean and well kept. Would definitely get my bike here next time.
Humaam A — Google review
Beautiful park. Didn't get a chance to see if there were washroom, but the view on a sunny day is stunning. So peaceful beside the river. I will return here again (out of town guest).
Joel H — Google review
The park is great. I like this park as there is a walking area next to the river and also the park itself is so clean. You rearly find homeless here and kids really like the playground. I recommend here for an evening with family or bringing kids to play.
Hamid H — Google review
Plenty to see. Many paths for walking or wheelchair ,and cycling and rollerblading. Friendly community area to meet others and stay in the shade or just stroll by the river. Washrooms available and children have a park to play
Scott S — Google review
It is absolutely stunning this time of year. The park is maintained with love and care that shows throughout the park. There's a water park for hotter summer days and a miniature train whose cars can comfortably carry one to two adults and a child. The museum dates back to the early years of Prince George and shows pictures of locals like Jack Meda and Wassa Leon. Put Side a whole day to explore Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park as you will need it. Enjoy!
Miranda F — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful and versatile parks in the city. All the grass, trees, river views and picnic benches/tables make it a great place for a walk or picnic. There is a splash pad, playground, paved paths and stage so it’s also great to host events and gatherings. All in all a highlight of the city of Prince George any time of year!

Very well maintained. Nice playground and water park for the kids yet enough room that if you want peace and quiet you can have that to.

I recently had my wedding dinner at Northern Lights Estate Winery, and it was absolutely perfect. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor—and every guest raved about it. The servers were excellent, attentive, and incredibly friendly, making everyone feel welcome and well cared for. The service throughout the evening was seamless, and the Director of Events was a dream to work with—always prompt in answering emails, accommodating to every request, and genuinely warm and personable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I’m so grateful to the entire team for making our special day unforgettable.

I had such a great time at Northern Lights Estate Winery. The spot is beautiful, right along the Nechako River, with amazing views and a relaxed vibe. The Bumbleberry Smash cocktail was delicious—sweet, refreshing, and full of flavor. I also tried the Spicy Italian sandwich, and it was so good! The mix of meats, cheese, and a bit of heat made it perfect with a glass of wine. Definitely a place I’d go back to again

Situated just outside the city, this venue is perfect for those seeking a great meal paired with fine wine, all while immersed in a beautiful natural setting. With exceptional food, wine, service, and presentation, it’s a destination that should not be missed.

Had an incredible meal here during a date day out where we tried a little of everything on the menu just about and we were blown away by how good everything was. The menu seems very thoughtfully curated where everything pairs well with everything and the tastes of each of the wines in our flights were divine with the variety of flavours on the charcuterie board. We had the calamari as a starter too which was phenomenal. We also got bang bang tofu bowl with added prawns and the spicy Italian stack with a Caesar salad. For dessert, we chose the rich and chocolatey brownie topped with berries and served warm with ice cream on the side, a chilled bottle of the bumbleberry wine, and some cold brew coffees. Not to mention Doug and Yannick accommodating needing to reschedule due to illness. 10/10, probably the best experience we’ve had. Even got a beautiful pair of earrings on our way out.
Ashley E — Google review
Dropped in for a tasting and we're treated to a bottle of bumble berry wine. The wine was a full-bodied but not too sweet. The staff was very helpful and the view of the river was awesome sitting on the patio without a cloud in the sky. Watching the river jet boats have fun. The perfect day to visit family and get some vitamin D.
Allen V — Google review
Best service and the food was delicious! My partner and I went for our anniversary had a great time! We enjoyed the wine and at the end we decided to grab another bottle, and they gave it to us on the house for the occasion. So sweet! Made our day:)

Awesome location right on the river, the property is gorgeous! Wine is made with fruits other than grapes, grown right on the property and other farm locations, like 🍎, 🍐, 🫐, raspberries and rhubarb. The staff was very accommodating to my vegan diet and the food (along with the wine) was very tasty!

Eskers Provincial Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Visitors to this pine forest & lake area can hike the trails, fish, canoe & cross-country ski.
Beautiful trails. Nice variety of terrain with enough hills to exert yourself but not too steep for a casual hike. Even in the cold, the views are great. We'll be back when the snow falls too.
Heidi B — Google review
These small bodies of water, known as kettle lakes, were formed 10 000 years ago when glaciers retreated, leaving behind glacial chunks. As the chunks melted they left behind circular depressions that the lakes fill.
Scott S — Google review
There are some very picturesque trails here. This park is great year round.
Mike — Google review
Very beautiful, large range of ecosystems and many lakes. I can see why this place is protected. We did the 11 km loop around a few the lakes, very up and down and you are always in the tree line so its difficult to tell how far you have gone. Good signage though
Caleb M — Google review
Choose your hike length, looping out to direct maintenance road in increments. I have hiked all day long occasionally, beautiful Lakes and scenery I must add. I live very close. Once a cyclist came by my house, and I cleared a tree fallen across the road. Obviously, great Neighborhood next to Eskers Provincial Park, and may I add it is well maintained, and great for Cross Country Sking.Enjoy!
Andrew W — Google review
Because of the constantly changing verticality the trails are deceptively harder than they seem, but it's a very pretty park with a couple lovely loops to hike and some nice lakes along the way.
Dylan M — Google review
This is one of my favorite areas to go. Great network of lakes and trails. Easy to get to, easy to navigate as there's a sign/map at almost every junction. Clean, stocked outhouses, numerous benches along the trails, as well as educational signage. Just be sure to stick to the trails as there's lots of Devil's Club and make sure to wear good footwear because the trails get quite slick when the rain rolls in.

The interpreters where excellent and very knowledgeable. I don't believe I have been to a more informative, interactive display of history.

What a fantastic gem! Educational, entertaining, and in a gorgeous location. This is not a place you get to by accident but it's worth the time. I had seniors, teens and littles, there was something for everyone in our party and everyone had a good time. I really appreciated how many hands on activities they had that helped the kids appreciate life on the frontier. Truly a delightful destination to visit

Super friendly staff posted at each of the houses! They explain what each of the houses were for during the fur trade era and also go into some of the history of the time. There are also some animals such as goats, chickens, and turkeys! Definitely a place to check out when visiting Fort St. James!

Hiking Trails
Twin Falls Recreation Site offers five free campsites in a wooded area at the trailhead, providing shade and flat terrain with picnic tables and fire rings. The site features vault toilets but lacks privacy due to high tree canopies. Accessible via a gravel road closed from November to May due to avalanche danger, it is a quiet location with limited space. Visitors can park at a small lot for a 15-minute hike to the falls, which may be dry during certain times.
I had an amazing hike today to the falls. So incredibly beautiful. I enjoyed every minute. It's too bad the place doesn't officially open until June 1. It was a gorgeous day, there's no snow up there, it was quiet and serene. Good for the soul.
C K — Google review
Lost a star because the gates are locked, and there are 3 campers, including myself at the gate. And there is 2 trucks and a car at the rec site behind the locked gates camping. Forcing a lot of us to make the 2km hike up to the rec site to find out there is people camping there anyway. Cute little campsite beside a nice loud creek. Beautiful easy drive on paved road. Hike up is super easy to the viewpoint. But I avoided the trail further up after heavy rain, because of the muddy section. And have no clue where the glacier trail starts. Amazing views, majestic waterfalls!
Stephen R — Google review
About a 15 min walk to the platform, then another 5-8 minutes past the platform to another picnic area. Beautiful falls! The 5 campsites were full. Can’t wait to come back in the winter ❄️
Kristi H — Google review
This was a beautiful hike on a well maintained trail. We went as far as the picnic table a bit past the viewing platform. The trail goes up a small steep canyon with many tall waterfalls along the walls. Two waterfalls were larger, and so it’s named “Twin Falls”. The trail follows the small creek and you get many chances to see the rushing water flowing down the mountain. The road to the parking area and small campground was excellent. No potholes and wide enough to pass oncoming vehicles.
Nancy S — Google review
If you drive all the way to the top of the road and get there early enough, the camping sites here are wonderful and shaded. They were well maintained and well stocked with firewood when I was there, and right off the campsite is a short trail to a viewing platform to see the twin falls merge. Even the drive up is beautiful and scenic. The sound of the creek plays like a sleep aid soundtrack.
Krista J — Google review
Saw a sign so I took the detour! The road up to Twin Falls is nice and paved, motorcycles welcomed! I could just catch glimpses of the falls and was getting excited about my decision to detour. Recommend some good hikers as the path was affected by flooding and there's avalanche warning signs too. But man oh man is the hike worth the views! There's even a few more smaller falls, that over time I can see them too becoming large enough for it to be named Triple or even Quad Falls.
Aline D — Google review
An amazing Park just a short distance from Smithers BC. Plenty of parking at the trail head, which also has some camping. Pit tickets are provided. A short hike from the parking area brings you to amazing views of the falls, as well as the river. There are plenty of benches along the trail, and a viewing platform. The trail does not go to the bottom of the falls, but another trail branches off and leads to the Glacier. The Twin Falls trail is an easy hike, even for kids.
Ernest P — Google review
Here you go! There are actually 4 falls when you get to the view platform! Gorgeous fall color mix. Watch out the steps while the trail is partially destroyed by the flood.

Awesome lake for swimming, boating, kayaking and any other water sports. Can get a bit windy and choppy in the afternoon so if you prefer calmer waters go in the morning.

Not to many negatives with this place. We spent 6 nights in an unserviced site with no issues. Site was reasonably private, clean and very well treed - the forest here is amazing! Having lived in the area for almost a decade this is my first choice for camping when I return to visit. Staff was friendly and the ice cream shop was a definite plus. The only two negatives were that on the "gravel side" one of the toilets in the men's washroom was "out of service" (appeared to just need a plunger) the whole time, as was the family shower/washroom which would have been very nice to have with my two boys; left me wondering how hard a plumber is to get?? The other negative was a security guy who kind of reminded me of a school hall monitor, but that wasn't all negative as this is my first recent recollection of not having to deal with someone else's dog running loose.

We've been on our tour to Prince Rupert and luckily we found this beautiful spot. The trail was fantastic and we have never seen s.th. similar in BC: vegetation not destroyed at all and very few people. Definitely worth a visit. The campground itself very clean and nice lots, hot water for free

Nestled in the stunning landscape of British Columbia, Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Park Campground is a remarkable destination that beautifully blends natural beauty with cultural significance. As the first provincial park co-managed by a First Nations tribe and the B.C. government, it offers visitors an unforgettable experience amidst lush greenery and mature trees. The campground features 16 private back-in sites, perfect for those seeking tranquility in nature.
This is a fantastic park. It may not have all the higher level ameneties such as showers or flush toilets, but it does everything else exceptionally well. For starters, there is a staffed house at the front that also serves as an info center. They have guided tours of the Volcano for a very reasonable price, provided you are strong enough for the hike. If you need transport to the trail head you can get that too! The road in the park is also paved. This is a huge plus. It quiets all traffic vs dirt and makes it easier to navigate. There's no low hanging branches. The road sides are well groomed with drainage. The individual sites are extremely well spaced. Nearby Prudhomme tries to cram 24 plots into a smaller park than this one, which only has 18. The distance up a dead end road also keeps things quiet. There's ample tourism for sure, as there should be in this gorgeous landscape with rich history, but it's never too much. There's no city traffic. No weekenders partying late. No groan inducing situations. People clearly make an effort to come here and experience the place. The wind spirit still lives here too. Look for it and you may notice it. There's also excellent cell signal here from the nearby settlement. All of this for just $20 a night. This is one of the better BC parks in the province. Don't overlook it.
Chris C — Google review
Beautiful campsites, near to the lava beds. About 16 sites, all suitable for tent or small to moderate sized trailers/RVs. Some interesting information about the Nisga'a people and the historical lava flow/eruption available. Multiple outhouses and one water pump (recommended to boil water). Beautiful sites, lots of Aspen nearby where the breeze coming through the leaves is quite pleasing. Very quiet, no road/highway noise. Would definitely recommend!

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been! Do not miss it! The campsite is nice it’s like most other provincial parks. It’s really the scenery around the campsite that is breathtaking. The tours to the volcano cone didn’t seem to be running in mid June. I wasn’t there on a weekend though, so that might’ve affected it.

The Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, established in 1994, serves as a protective park and conservatory for grizzly bears and their offspring. The sanctuary offers guided tours that take visitors deep into one of the fjords on the coastline of British Columbia near the Alaska border. Along with spotting grizzly bears with cubs, visitors also have a chance to see other wildlife such as humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, and bald eagles.
We drove to Prince Rupert from Jasper, with stopover at Smithers. The route was very very picturesque, and 100% worth it. We took the Prince Rupert Adventure tours, which was amazing. The crew were constantly giving a commentary. We saw a number of grizzly bears, humpback whales bubble feeding and lots of bald eagles. Totally worth the trip.
Siva M — Google review
I spent many hours researching bear lodges and so glad we visited Khutz. It is friendly, small, clean, comfy, great food, wonderful & knowledgeable staff. The adventure starts at 7.30am leaving Prince Rupert on a high powered boat into the wilderness, straight out to see bears. We stayed for 4 days and watched bears twice a day everyday, humpback whales, sealions, seals, bald eagles, kingfishers, loads of gulls and loads of salmon. It was the highlight of our 4 week trip to Canada.
C D — Google review
Visiting the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary was on top of our bucket list when we visited Prince Rupert on the North Western Coast of British Columbia in Canada. We booked a half-day ferry ride to the sanctuary with Prince Rupert Adventure Tours which takes you deep into one of the fjords on the coastline of BC, very close to the border with Alaska. We spotted grizzly bears on two occasions and one was with a cub. We also sighted a humpback whale, dolphins, a sea lion and bald eagles, and these sightings were equally thrilling. It's a 'must do' if you happen to visit Prince Rupert in Canada.
Vijay S — Google review
A fantastic day with Prince Rupert Adventure Tours seeing not only bears but bald eagles, seals and humpback whales not to mention the magnificent scenery
Jim E — Google review
It was by far the perfect end to an amazing holiday and the wildlife seen in one day was incredible. It was late summer and i took the ferry from Vancouver to prince Rupert which was amazing in itself. Hotel overnight and went on adventure tours early morning for the full day trip to khutzeymateen. We saw at least 10 grizzlies, some with cubs just lazing in the water and strolling along the beach, hundreds of seals, several large pods of killer whales swam alongside the boat and showed off their babies, playful humpbacks, a lone wolf, bald eagles everywhere and a moose. Not to mention the scenery was sublime and the air as pure and clean as it gets. Five stars was not enough for this adventure of a lifetime.
Marie D — Google review
The Sanctuary is great and definitely worth visiting but consider how to go there. We took the Prince Rupert Adventure Tour. It was expensive and with a big boat-100 people. The crew was very friendly and tried to entertain us but as always there were some screaming children and tourists that don't know how to behave. They scared the bears and it was impossible to view them. If you have a chance go there with a small zodiac boat
