Bryce Canyon is beautiful. We parked in the all-day parking, took the bike/ walking path & road bikes to the trails and look-outs, so we didn't have to fight parking. They have bike racks at all of the viewpoints & stops. We locked our bikes and didn't have any problems.
The hikes are really fun. We did Navajo loop. It was so magical. We took a backpack, lots of water, sunscreen, sunglasses and a lunch that we enjoyed down at the bottom in the shade.
Go to the bathroom before you go down, cuz there are no toilet facilities @ the bottom.
Visit the visitor center before you start to get a map and ideas of where you want to go talk to the rangers. They're very helpful.

Great NP, even during the shutdown. Visitor's Center was open and the shuttle was running (it ends October 19). Lots of varied hikes from 1 mile to some monstrous ones. Terrain was varied as well, some serious elevation changes and some paved accessible ones. Quite beautiful!
Bryce Canyon National Park is one of those rare places that feels almost other-worldly. The moment you step up to the rim and look out over the amphitheaters filled with thousands of vibrant red and orange hoodoos, it genuinely takes your breath away. No picture truly prepares you for how surreal and massive the landscape is in person.
What makes Bryce especially memorable is how accessible its beauty is. You can catch incredible views right from Sunrise, Sunset, Inspiration, and Bryce Points, each offering a slightly different angle of the canyon’s maze-like formations. But the real magic happens when you hike down into the canyon. Trails like Navajo Loop, Queen’s Garden, and Peekaboo Loop let you walk among the towering hoodoos, weaving through narrow passages and tunnels carved by nature. It’s hard not to feel tiny, in the best possible way.
Another highlight is how the park transforms throughout the day. Early mornings glow with soft gold light, afternoons bring out the rich reds of the rock, and the sunsets are phenomenal. If you stay after dark, Bryce is also one of the best stargazing locations in the country—its night sky is unbelievably clear.
Whether you’re there to hike, photograph, or simply soak in the views, Bryce Canyon feels like stepping into a natural cathedral shaped by time and elements. It’s a must-see national park that leaves you inspired long after you’ve left.
Bryce Canyon is absolutely stunning. The landscape is filled with towering spires of rock called hoodoos in deep reds, oranges, and whites. The trails are steep, challenging, and completely worth it. Every turn opens up a new and breathtaking view.
What makes Bryce Canyon so unique is that it isn’t a true canyon but a series of natural amphitheaters carved by erosion and frost. The park sits high on the Paunsaugunt Plateau, with elevations reaching over 9,000 feet at Rainbow Point.

Wow!!! Bryce Canyon is unbelievable its like another world! It gets real interesting fast when you enter red canyon going east on hwy 12. Those red rocks are amazing such deep red color. Then you get to Bryce and those deep red colors mix with the tan sandstone color all of it blends into a natural wonder! We had so much fun we traveled all the way down the canyon at Rainbow Point and enjoyed a nice picnic lunch. They have lots of picnic tables in this area and restrooms. Many roadside pullout areas and parking lots to get to all the viewpoints along the canyon. When traveling deep into the canyon the canyon dropoff is on both sides of you....quite a thrilling experience! I recommend getting to sunrise/sunset point as early as you can because it gets quite busy with visitors. Once you find parking there is nice large concrete walkway that join Sunrise and sunset points together.
We went in early November and the crowds weren't to bad. The visitors center was still open even with the government shutdown. The views were stunning and breathtaking. Wish we could have had more time to do some of the hikes but we will definitely be coming back to see more.
Breathtaking views! I think winter is the best time to visit as the hikes are doable (we did the 3 mile hike which made us sweat as well lol). The beautiful skies add up to the wonderful snow capped mountains which are visible even at greater distances.
Gorgeous. Don’t be afraid to go in a few basic hikes; they’re well worth it. Visit the welcome center and talk to one of the park rangers at a desk and get a plan for each day. Our ranger was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend specific hikes that were within our capabilities, including secret gems.

Well worth the drive! We went in October on a Wednesday and arrived at 9 AM and there were VERY few people there. No wait for the bus out to the Sky Walk. Great experience. Pay the $45 to get 16 professional photos taken of your group. He was hysterically funny! This was one of the highlights of our trip to the area!

Skywalk at Grand Canyon West
I recently visited the Skywalk at Grand Canyon West, and overall, the experience was disappointing.
While mobile phones are allowed, the professional photographers stationed along the Skywalk tend to block the best viewing spots, making it hard to enjoy the view or take your own photos freely. It felt more like a sales setup than a scenic experience , with constant pressure to step aside so they can take photos to sell you later.
The Skywalk itself is much smaller than expected, and although the view is nice, it's not significantly better than other areas of the canyon that are free and far less commercialized. For the high ticket price, I expected something more immersive and less restricted.
Crowds, limited time on the platform, and overall poor value made this a low point in an otherwise amazing Grand Canyon trip. If you're planning to visit, I’d recommend skipping the Skywalk and heading to the South Rim or other less tourist-heavy viewpoints, you’ll get better views, more freedom, and a more authentic connection with the canyon.
Absolutely breathtaking experience! The Skywalk at Grand Canyon West was unreal — totally worth the trip. They give you slippers to put on before you enter the skywalk. Standing on that glass bridge and looking straight down into the canyon is wild… it honestly feels like you’re floating in the sky! Even if ur afraid of heights, by the time you go around the 3rd time(15 min allowed for each time), it’s not so scary and is even thrilling! The views are beyond words — endless layers of red rock, the Colorado River running through, and this peaceful, powerful energy all around.
I spent a few hours exploring the area — there are great photo spots everywhere, places to sit and take it all in, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything felt really organized, and the whole experience was smooth. I’d 100% recommend going early because the light hits the canyon in the most magical way. It’s one of those bucket-list places you just have to see in person — no photo can do it justice!
The skywalk closes at 5 pm, so there’s really no chance of seeing the sunset, unless it’s deep into winter, but hopefully soon, they will extend the hours.

I enjoyed the skywalk! It was interactive and more fun than I thought it would be. I went early AM on a Sunday and the crew working at that time was very laidback. Everyone was allowed to take pictures and the camera crew didn’t force their services on anyone unless they asked. I would definitely suggest going early if you can and going offseason. I went in mid-October. It was nice because I felt like I had some parks of the canyon to myself! Not sure if it would be something I’d ever do again just due to cost and time restrictions, but I do think it’s worth checking out at least once! It was pretty close to Vegas. I drove out in the early AM and I would estimate it’s a half day trip if you start somewhat early.
I’ve always wanted to visit GCW since the Skywalk opened and finally got there today and it was an amazing experience.
Awesome views of the canyon from around the property and directly down some 3,000’ below along on the Skywalk loop.
The Skywalk is a cantilever design with nothing supporting it underneath as it hangs precariously over the canyon edge.
There are also authentically correct replicas of several different Indian homes from different Tribes indigenous to this area of the Grand Canyon.
There also locals selling jewelry, a snack shop; dancers; restaurant, and gift shop.
PS: Some trails can be rugged…

So amazing!!! To be walking on glass almost a mile over the Grand Canyon floor is amazing.
The only negative about visiting here and Guano Point was that it cost 100 dollars plus taxes a person. But worth doing it once.
The views are amazing and worth it. As I have recommended on the other stop, I would go in the late fall or early spring. It was so hot when we visited in the summer.
Staff is very kind. The shuttle comes every few mins so it’s very easy navigating around.
Breath taking views from both Eagle point (skywalk) and Guano point. It is a long drive down a single lane highway which is poorly sign posted. You can purchase your ticket 🎟 at the gate. All access pass is about $100 USD and will give access to Skywalk and Zip lining. Well worth the trip, suitable for all ages.

Located in Zion National Park, Angels Landing is a popular rock formation known for its breathtaking views of Zion Canyon. Billed as the most dangerous hike in USA , this is Zion’s iconic hike and also the most difficult to obtain a permit to access. It’s early Oct 2025 during the US Federal Govt shutdown and YES- NPS Rangers are still checking permits and don’t forget to bring photo ids as some who did. not bring ids had a difficult time with the rangers!
The 8.7km hike is strenuous and requires climbing of 460m. The last km iwhich requires a permit checked at the entry point at Scouts Landing involves climbing narrow ridges while holding onto a chain. Please be patient and let oncoming traffic through! The views during the hike are spectacular.
The bonus for the trip was the opportunity to see two California Condors soaring overhead. This is the largest bird in USA and was almost extinct with only 20 in the 1980s! They are now on the critically endangered having recovered to around 600 today.
Bring water as it can be quite hot and enjoy the walk.

Great October hike at sunrise! We got our permit for the first time slot of the day, which was great. We took the first park shuttle of the day and were within the first few hikers of the day on the trail, so we didn't run into anyone on the way up Angels Landing. This hike was super fun to do. It is definitely impressive which gives a sense of pride when you complete it. I did not think it was too hard physically. It can definitely be scary in some areas though. I witnessed people turning back because it was too scary for them. I now get what the hype is all about. Get your permit and do the hike, you won't regret it.
Visiting Angels Landing was absolutely unforgettable! The views from the top were breathtaking, with incredible scenery in every direction. The hike itself was challenging but totally worth it once you reach the summit. The trail was well-maintained, and there were plenty of spots to stop and take photos. I’d recommend going early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It’s one of those places that truly reminds you how beautiful nature can be!
The hike is challenging but so worth it. I came down backwards which made it so mush easier. View is gorgeous along the way. It’s not as scary as shown in the online videos when you actually get on the trail.
Beautiful and Breathtaking hike! Be sure you are up for a challenge! There is a lot of high drop offs and your walking along edges. But it’s worth it! I am glad we went in October and not during peak season, it’s a small walking path for people in both directions and you have to wait for people to pass by before you can go.
Angel’s Landing is a stunning trail with some seriously out-of-this-world views. It’s not an easy hike, especially if you’re a beginner but totally worth it for the scenery. I went at the end of October, and even then it was hot and sunny, so I highly recommend starting early to beat the heat and the crowds.
Bring lots of water. I didn’t go all the way to the peak with the chains (it gets pretty intense), but even stopping before that, the views were incredible. You don’t have to do the final stretch to enjoy the experience.
This hike is not for the faint of heart or anyone with a terrible fear of heights, but also the best hike I have ever done. The views are gorgeous, the chains area gets your adrenaline going, and finishing the hike feels so rewarding. Definitely dangerous, so must be physically able! I wouldn’t ever recommend this to children or elderly. To do the chains you must have a permit. But anyone can do the hike before that and get an incredible view at Scout Lookout before that if they don’t mind switchbacks! We went in June and on the trail at 7:30 am to beat the heat and the crowd, which worked great for us as it started getting much more crowded at the end. I recommend starting as early as possible. Keep in mind you will have to take their bus shuttle to the hike entrance and parking at the entrance of the park is near impossible to find if you arrive theater in the day.
This trail was one of the toughest I've tackled in my 15 years of hiking. I'd still recommend it 100% to those who can handle the challenge. Just be sure to bring plenty of water - more than you think you'll need. And if you're afraid of heights, this trail might not be for you.

The Narrows is a renowned and unique hiking experience in Zion Canyon, starting from the Temple of Sinawava. It's a popular trail that follows the river for over a dozen miles as the canyon walls narrow into a slot. While it can get crowded in spring and summer, its novelty and breathtaking scenery make it a must-visit in Zion. The hike begins with the Riverside Walk before transitioning to navigating rocks in the flowing river.
Probably the coolest hike I've ever done! The epic views, sloshing through the water. The canyon walls get closer together the farther you go. There's a 20 foot section where you go waist deep in water so you have to lift up your backpack if you don't want it to get soaked. Most of the time the water is about up to your knees or less. You occasionally hike on land but make no mistake you will be walking through water most of the time. I did see rock jumpers about halfway into the hike jumping off into the river on a deep spot they found. The farther you go the less people you'll see going that deep in. Once you get past a certain point about 3 mile's in it's absolutely magical. We went in July in the summer. Make sure you arrive super early so you have time to make it back before the last shuttle leaves. Bring water & snacks and take lots of epic pictures because not everybody gets to experience this beautiful creation!

The Narrows felt like a scene after a typhoon, went the weekend before Labor Day and it was packed! The water wasn’t clear at all, but it was still super fun and thrilling. Definitely rent shoes and walking sticks—it’s slippery. Bring some snacks and water. If you’re visiting Zion, this is a must-do!
Amazing and fun hike for the family!!! One of the best hikes I have done! The hike can be as long or as short as you like, as the real beauty is the path. Some people recommend special socks, water shoes, and hiking sticks. I do recommend a hiking stick, but I used an actual stick I found in the desert that worked great and wore quality water shoes. There was one place towards the beginning that we were in water chest deep, so do keep in mind that you can get really wet depending on how high the water currently is. We were there at the very end of June and the water was pretty cold, but our feet got used to it fast! There is also a little water fall towards the beginning of the river and fun side trails later on down the path. The shade covered us the whole hike, but we were on the trail by 8:00am and stayed for about 4 hours total. A must do if you are in Zion!!!
It was quite an adventure. Bring water and snacks. A stick is a must it really helps walking over rocks. We got there by 8am. Took the shuttle to stop 9. We walked about 1 mile to the start. We walked for about 4 miles in the narrows and turned around. We had couple young kids they were tired couldn't go any more. It took about 3 hours to go up and about 1 hour to come back down. Its a real adventure. $30 water shoes from Amazon worked really well. The water was very cold at first especially when it went up to your belly. But once that sun comes out and into the canyon it feels really good to rest and let the sun hit you and warm you up.
Our Zion National Park visit centered on The Narrows, an unforgettable water hike. By 8:10 a.m., the Visitor Center parking was full, so we parked at Stop 2 and took the shuttle to Stop 9.
Thanks to my wife’s planning, we rented water shoes and hiking sticks, making the four-hour trek more enjoyable. The towering canyon views were stunning, and the kids had a blast! At one deep section, the water reached my waist, and I helped them across—an exciting challenge.
You need to experience The Narrows at least once in your life.
The Narrows is the most unforgettable hike of my life. Imagine wading directly into the Virgin River, surrounded by thousand-foot canyon walls that rise dramatically on both sides. It’s not just a hike; it’s an adventure. Hot tip: bring hiking poles or at least a walking stick and shoes/boots and clothes you don’t mind getting soaked.
First, getting there…you must either take the park shuttle or bike in, no private vehicles are allowed. It sounds like a pain, it isn’t, trust me. Ample parking is available near the visitors center near the shuttle stop. Then you’re on your way. Take it to the last stop, Temple of Sinawava then hike an easy paved trail to the “entry” aka the water.
The river is your trail, and every step is both exhilarating and humbling. Sometimes the water is ankle-deep, other times it reaches your waist/chest and with every bend you discover new perspectives on this awe-inspiring canyon. The cool water, the echo of footsteps and laughter, the sheer scale of the rock walls, it’s a sensory experience unlike anything else. The beauty also is, you can go as far or as little as you want!
My wife and I took this on and were absolutely blown away. It challenged us, yes, but it also rewarded us with memories we’ll never forget. Standing there, looking up at the towering cliffs and realizing how small you are; it’s a perspective shift you can’t get anywhere else.
If you do one hike in Zion, make it The Narrows. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that leaves you both exhausted and exhilarated, and it will stay with you forever.
What a hike, water is cold and deep in many areas. This place can get very packed especially in the beginning. Highly recommend a walking stick and good water shoes as the rocks will destroy your feet and ankles.
I don't think words or photos can truly convey this experience. You just have to go and do it yourself. I will say that you don't really need the boots and neoprene socks that the outfitters outside the park have to rent. I think the only thing are either hiking poles or a sturdy hiking stick.

Out of the way but what an amazing stop. It was 80 degrees and felt like 68 with the breeze. Nice new visitors center, and incredible views. We didn’t have time to do any hikes this time, but have done them in the past and they provide more awesome views of the canyon and you pass some ancient trees. Worth the stop and worth going out of the way to visit. Our national park pass was good to get us in, so no extra charge!

Nice place for a quick stop to see Bryce canyon NP-like views. The spectra trail was nice, but they also have an observation deck area that will give you equally nice views of you don't have time to walk the trail. The gift shop has reasonably priced shirts and sweatshirts. You're required to have your state park pass to enter this location but no one checks so you can basically just walk the trail and see the observation deck without having to show your park pass at all. As long as you don't go into the visitor center, you're good.
There is a clean bathroom at the parking lot.
WOW! Let me tell you, if you can make it up to cedars break I would highly recommend the drive. When you’re seeking peace this is the place to be. Just under a 35 minute drive from cedar city this look out is quite phenomenal. With a priceless view and onlookers from all over it’s truly breathtaking. Every time I’m in town I go to Cedars Break to catch the sunset and just sit in awe of such an amazing spectacle.
Go up there if you can. Very similar to Bryce, but 2000 ft higher in elevation. The ride up there from Zion to Bryce (yes it is a detour) in late September with the aspens in bloom was spectacular. Even had to stop to allow some grazing sheep to cross. WELL WORTH A TRIP.
We got it just in time to have a moment to talk to the Rangers in the visitor center. They cannot be kinder or more friendly and were very helpful. The park is open 24 hours however the visitor center is only open til five. Beautiful hikes, beautiful views for everybody to enjoy.
This place was so much more than what I expected to see here. I had no idea what I was driving to and walking towards. It was such an unassuming drive on the way to Bryce Canyon and it just pops out of nowhere. Have to say it was really cool and the most pleasant of surprises. Breathtaking.
This place is all inspiring. From the southern visitor Center just walk straight out and you are greeted with this massive landscape. You can see for miles and miles and the landscape is very unique. Take a moment and read the various information that's available at the visitor center as they are very helpful. The geological formation at this area is quite amazing. They are restrooms you can use and it's easily accessible from the parking lot. There are several viewpoints around this monument and I highly recommend you go to her the Northern viewpoint as it gives you a very different perspective. I think the best time to visit is doing sunrise and not sunset.
This gorgeous park is such a hidden gem! Was never on our plans, never heard of it until a friend told me about it. SO glad we went! If you’re in the area of Zion and Bryce, this is a must do!!! It’s like a mini Grand Canyon! Visitors center and staff were great too…

We booked the 1.5-hour guided tour and had an amazing experience. The tour took us through this vast, beautifully maintained sanctuary, including stops at the pig area and the cat house. We even got to pet some of the animals, which was a real highlight.
I’ve never seen a more impressive or well-organized animal welfare organization—the space is huge, and it’s clear the animals are incredibly well cared for. The guide was knowledgeable and passionate, making the tour both educational and heartwarming.
Whether you love animals or just want to support a truly meaningful cause, this place is a must-visit.

Best friends is definitely a must visit. We are from Cincinnati & have visited a few times. Well this time after touring the sanctuary we met some of the Texas flood rescues and came home with a dog! Bear friends helped us find a safe way to get her home.
Tours are free, funny, & informative. The volunteers & workers are sweet and really engage with you in your. Greet for kiddos
So, probably a good idea to plan your stop in advance. We didn't. They have plenty of tours, but it looks like most are in the morning. Enough about our mistake. The self-guided tour is pretty epic anyway. You do get to go into one of the many cat houses and interact with the kitties. And you can see just a few of their hundreds of dogs at the adoption center. This place is doing great work.
This place was so much fun. The lunch was amazing. Especially for $5. And the view from the patio was so pretty.
Everyone was so welcoming. The tours were super cool and the animals are so well behaved.
The cats were great with children which was a relief with my 3 year old wanting to pet them.
I am a monthly donor so I wanted to see how my donations were being used. I was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful town called Kanab. It's breaktaking views will make you appreciate the work of God. I enjoyed all 3 tours that I went on ( the grand sanctuary tour, goat walking and pig tour, and bunny tour). I learned something about goats on the tour. You're not supposed to feed male goats a lot of fruit because it can cause lead to crystallization within their urethra. I fed some goats grapes and leaves at the vineyard because they acted hingry. But i will not do that again. I recommend that you spend two days so you can take all of the tours. The cafe provides a delicious $5 vegan lunch with a million dollar view. I love how the pigs have air conditioning on their houses to keep them cool. This sanctuary has a building to care for cats with Feline Leukemia Virus. They are no kill so any animal that ends up here has a home for life. And last but not least, this sanctuary is completely ran off volunteers and donations. So please donate so we can save them all.
My 4th visit to Best Friends but this time arranged a highly successful group volunteer visit for Sisters on the Fly with the BFAS Group Experience Team. Our hearts were filled with the BFAS mission and vision through volunteering, touring and making parrot enrichment toys. A 3-day event easily could have been a few days longer for us. Yummy, outdoor, vegan lunches at picturesque Angel's Village Cafe were 'icing on the cake.'
I’ve wanted to visit Best Friends for decades! So happy to finally get to see this magnificent sanctuary in memory of Toots. Everything about it is perfect. Yeah, I cried. Sacred experience for me ❤️
We have visited this beautiful place more than once! Enclaved within the red rock beauty and near Zion National Park this place is truly magical. There is a tour although not as it used to be. Worth a visit and go ahead and adopt a pet..

Bryce Canyon is beautiful. We parked in the all-day parking, took the bike/ walking path & road bikes to the trails and look-outs, so we didn't have to fight parking. They have bike racks at all of the viewpoints & stops. We locked our bikes and didn't have any problems.
The hikes are really fun. We did Navajo loop. It was so magical. We took a backpack, lots of water, sunscreen, sunglasses and a lunch that we enjoyed down at the bottom in the shade.
Go to the bathroom before you go down, cuz there are no toilet facilities @ the bottom.
Visit the visitor center before you start to get a map and ideas of where you want to go talk to the rangers. They're very helpful.

Great NP, even during the shutdown. Visitor's Center was open and the shuttle was running (it ends October 19). Lots of varied hikes from 1 mile to some monstrous ones. Terrain was varied as well, some serious elevation changes and some paved accessible ones. Quite beautiful!
Bryce Canyon National Park is one of those rare places that feels almost other-worldly. The moment you step up to the rim and look out over the amphitheaters filled with thousands of vibrant red and orange hoodoos, it genuinely takes your breath away. No picture truly prepares you for how surreal and massive the landscape is in person.
What makes Bryce especially memorable is how accessible its beauty is. You can catch incredible views right from Sunrise, Sunset, Inspiration, and Bryce Points, each offering a slightly different angle of the canyon’s maze-like formations. But the real magic happens when you hike down into the canyon. Trails like Navajo Loop, Queen’s Garden, and Peekaboo Loop let you walk among the towering hoodoos, weaving through narrow passages and tunnels carved by nature. It’s hard not to feel tiny, in the best possible way.

Wow!!! Bryce Canyon is unbelievable its like another world! It gets real interesting fast when you enter red canyon going east on hwy 12. Those red rocks are amazing such deep red color. Then you get to Bryce and those deep red colors mix with the tan sandstone color all of it blends into a natural wonder! We had so much fun we traveled all the way down the canyon at Rainbow Point and enjoyed a nice picnic lunch. They have lots of picnic tables in this area and restrooms. Many roadside pullout areas and parking lots to get to all the viewpoints along the canyon. When traveling deep into the canyon the canyon dropoff is on both sides of you....quite a thrilling experience! I recommend getting to sunrise/sunset point as early as you can because it gets quite busy with visitors. Once you find parking there is nice large concrete walkway that join Sunrise and sunset points together.
We went in early November and the crowds weren't to bad. The visitors center was still open even with the government shutdown. The views were stunning and breathtaking. Wish we could have had more time to do some of the hikes but we will definitely be coming back to see more.
Breathtaking views! I think winter is the best time to visit as the hikes are doable (we did the 3 mile hike which made us sweat as well lol). The beautiful skies add up to the wonderful snow capped mountains which are visible even at greater distances.
Gorgeous. Don’t be afraid to go in a few basic hikes; they’re well worth it. Visit the welcome center and talk to one of the park rangers at a desk and get a plan for each day. Our ranger was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend specific hikes that were within our capabilities, including secret gems.

Has a small museum dedicated to the park, and souvenir store. Rangers were friendly and will give you answers in your inquiries about the park.
Really small visitor center. Can't accommodate all the visitors, but the staff were really helpful and they have great exhibits and a small gift shop. Appreciate the maps all being located outside so you don't have to wait in line just to ask for a map.
As usual the staff is always helpful. Make sure you take your ID and American the beautiful pass or money to pay the park entry fee. Many options for souvenirs and interesting facts about the park.
Loved the short drive in the park. We did a short walk at the end of the road. Get there early if you can. Lots of big tour buses go through here. Lots to see outside the park area too.

I visited Canyonlands National Park and was completely blown away by the massive red rock canyons and endless panoramic views. The overlooks were stunning, especially at sunrise, and the hiking trails gave a real sense of adventure and peace. What I didn’t love was how few shaded areas there were — the heat can get pretty intense, and some trails felt a bit poorly marked. Still, it’s an incredible and unforgettable place that’s absolutely worth the trip if you love wild landscapes and open skies.

Suprisingly pretty empty when i went! Amazing hiking with overlooks and cliffs and windy canyons. Spent a weekend here, saw most of what you can see(rushing through things) and it was so incredible.
This is a beautiful park. The canyons are spectacular, and vast, though not as colorful as the Grand Canyon. You can see a lot from your car, but for the full experience hit some of the hiking trails.
So beautiful! So glad we came. No charge to go in park due to government shut down. Visitor center was still open. Porta potty bathrooms available at Visitor center. We went on a clear Saturday around 10 am. Park was a little busy, but not overwhelming. We were the only ones on path to Whale Rock. Definitely check out mesa arch. Pretty easy hike and worth the walk.
This is a large park. I recommend a full day to see it. There is a lot of hiking/walking to the main points. There is also two entrances to the park. The first one is up on the north end by Moab and Dead Horse State Park. This is where the Island in the Sky visitor center is located. Almost every stop after you park there is a short walk to the view. The Mesa Arch is a short hike. On a decent trail. I would plan on taking water and planning on a hour. Even if you are not in great physical shape you can do this. It is well worth it.
On the south east side of the park is the other entrance to the needles. You will loose internet access to maps on your way there. I would recommend taking a few photos of maps before going, unless you already have the park map the road is on that to the park.
Astounding views at every turn in the road! Lots of trails of varying difficulties. Some trailheads were absolutely crammed with cars, nothing new there. Overall a wonderful place to visit.

Dead Horse Point State Park is a cliffside park that offers camping, hiking, and biking trails with stunning overlooks of the Colorado River. It's conveniently located just 20 minutes east of the Island in the Sky entrance to Arches National Park. The park provides beautiful views of the Gooseneck bend of the Colorado River and the La Sal Mountains.
We loved seeing this state park. It was beautiful. Located between Canyonlands and Arches, it gets lost in the mix but is well worth seeing. There were several interesting hikes but they mostly only offer different perspectives on the main site. We stayed in the Dead Horse Campground. Arrived at dark - bad idea!!! The morning revealed a beautiful large site with a weather-protected picnic table. The campground has a community dump station but only electricity at the sites. No water.

This place is awesome! $20 a car to get in. The Visitor center is cool. It has amazing views, a walking path and the gift shop has all kinds of goodies that aren't terribly expensive. Bathrooms are outside around the side of the building. After that follow 313 to the end. Here there are several places to stop and take photos. There is a building in the center with bathrooms in it. There are also several picnic shelters. You can also get married here. There are 5 different spots. We thought Cliff Side was the best but it was also the most difficult to get to and there is no wall just cliff so be careful especially with kids. There is also 25 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. I haven't tried them yet but when I do I will update this review. Have fun!
This is a great park!! I think the views at the overlook at the end of the road are better than Capital Reef with the bend in the Colorado River and salt ponds, also with shaded areas for eating and restrooms. There are a handful of hiking and biking trails. Great visitor center with a short nature trail and overlook. Well worth the $20 entrance fee.
We visited the Dead Horse National Park. It was just beautiful! We drove up to the top point and enjoyed a picnic lunch under an overhang with cliff seating and benches in the shade. The restroom was clean and beautifully tiled walls. We saw the place where the Thelma & Louise car was driven off the cliff for the movie too!
This state park offers great views of Colorado River canyon. The views are quite open, you can see far way and a bend of the river (similar to Horseshoe Bend). You can watch both sunrise and sunset of the canyon.
As there is no camping site in nearby Cayonland National Park, this state park can be used for camping after visiting the Canyonland National Park, they both offer great views of the canyon and Colorado River.
The camping sites here are well maintained, very clean. Some sites are not car assessable, you need park the car in nearby parking spot and carry all you camping stuff to the site. It was very windy in April and we felt that the tent could be blew away any time during the night.

Underrated mini Grand Canyon that’s much less busy! We stayed in a yurt in the campgrounds and it was fantastic. There was Ac in the unit and a little sky light in the middle! Saw the most amazing starry sky! Very close spectacular drive to arches as well!

Dead Horse Point is a must‑see near Moab—jaw‑dropping views that feel like stepping into another world.
The highway twisting like a wild serpent until suddenly the canyon opened up. My jaw dropped as red cliffs glowed like embers above the Colorado River.
At the rim, I felt like an explorer—arms wide, wind in my hair. Surreal, unforgettable.

This location holds a special place in my heart since I have rafted the bend many years ago.
I would put this as a quick stop over if you are in the Moab area but not somewhere I would go out of my way to go to. To me it is worth the entrance price since roughly same view you could get from Horse Shoe bend and more accessible (Horse Shoe bend is prettier with the colors but in summer the hike is miserable).

One of my favorite national parks! We live in Georgia and have been here 3x in the last 5 years. While it’s a popular park, we like it because everything is spread out so there’s plenty of room for everyone! You might have to circle around devils garden loop a few times to find parking, but then you will and you’ll be glad you did.
Our favorite is watching sunset from the north window arch! We’ve done this every time we’ve come and it’s never disappointed.
We also have three young kiddos, and love that it’s so kid friendly! From lots of sand spots at the end of some arches (pine tree arch and sand dunes arch) to lots of rock climbing that’s relatively safe and again, spacious paths for people to walk. We’ve been to other national parks and it’s not always the case so we appreciate that about this park!
It’s a forever favorite and you really can’t go wrong with any of the hikes or views. Definitely bring water and food in, as the only water fill up spots (that I know of) are the visitors center and then devils garden loop. No where to buy food in the park that I know of!
Overall, it’s a special and favorite place and highly recommend coming to visit! 🧡🏜️
Probably one of the most beautiful and historic places I've been. Seeing the arches themselves really makes you feel small in a way. Millions and millions of years have gone by and this is what they've left of the rock. Incredible and humbling. You really get a sense of how short our life spans all are. Will they still be here in a hundred years? A thousand? Who knows. Highly recommend going as deep as you can into the park, but you should also really do a multi day trip for this. Too much to take in at once. Visit the sand arches! The silence is golden.
I've lived in Utah for a lot of my life, but this is the first time I've really explored Arches. 10/10. It was 50 degrees on the days I was there which honestly was great. I cannot imagine hiking on the hot rocks in the summer. It was warm enough that but the time I was actually hiking, I pulled off my jacket. Anyway. It was gorgeous. I loved it.
Arches National Park was absolutely stunning. The red rock formations and arches were even more beautiful in person, and every stop had an incredible view. The park was easy to explore, and sunrise/sunset were unforgettable. Pictures do no justice!

A neat park with unique natural architecture. The park is organized into a scenic drive with frequent pullouts for viewpoints and short trails into the land itself. If you like long trails and isolation, that’s tough to come by in this park. The back end of Devil’s Garden was the closest that I could find. It’s definitely worth a visit, but I recommend devoting more time to Canyonlands if you’re interested in more serious hiking and exploring. You can hit the highlights of Arches in a half day and cover almost all of it in a full day.
A sight to see! Camping was great. Early November the crowds were much better than peak however there was a lot of traffic even then.

Rode here from Salt Lake City with a friend of mine and it was by far our best ride yet. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. The views were easily observable from the multiple viewpoints that you are able to pull onto during your ride / drive.
We went at about 8:30AM on Sunday and only passed 3 cars the entire way and nobody was at the toll station to charge $20 for entrance (motorcycle).

Bring bug spray. There are bugs.
Use sunscreen. There's minimal tree cover.
Bring water. There are no water sources throughout the park.
Plan which trails you wish to hike beforehand and have a navigation app on your phone to ensure you don't get lost. Many of the trails are interconnected.

Really amazing place to visit if near grand junction / Fruita. We did the drive and stopped at various view points. Really beautiful to see. We were lucky and saw a group of big horn sheep as well, be careful driving so you don’t accidentally hit them, they were on the road around a corner and could easily be hit. America the beautiful pass is accepted here also.
As part of a cross country road trip we spent a night in grand junction after being at several national parks in Utah. The next morning we did the scenic drive through Colorado national monument. The scenery was amazing. I would honestly say CNM was just as beautiful as Utah’s Parks’s, but with a lot less crowds. We stopped at a number of scenic pull offs to take in the views, but didn’t get a chance to see everything we wish we could have seen due to a time entry at a hot spring in glenwood springs. After being in 9 national parks on the trip we finally saw a big horn sheep at a very close distance too.
If you are anywhere close to CNM, highly recommend seeing this park.
Amazing park!!! We were headin’ to another park when we spotted this one on the map. What a big ol’ surprise! We pulled in with the RV, spent the night, and woke up early. Took a nice three-hour stroll on that gorgeous monument trail. Powerful experience, y’all. Don’t miss it!
Amazing views and a very nice drive. Plenty of viewing areas. Went today, on a Monday morning just after sunrise and there was hardly anyone around (the way I like it). Would definitely drive this again and make time for some of the hikes!
Its an evening day in the summer, fall or winter and you are wanting to have a nice quite hour long drive to yourself or with friends, this will be a location you can return to over and over, enjoying yourself everytime!! The views are stunning, the visitors center is open 8am-5pm with restrooms, and outside water is accessible at any time fountain and faucet style access. Each one of the plants is labeled for fun facts as well. There are so many look-out stopping points throughout your drive, short hikes to get your spirits up and body moving!! This will be a must-see for anyone travel around the area. Pack a lunch or just go to sit on the rocks and breathe in life. Please pack your trash out if you bring it in, and this amazing place will stay amazing for everyone!!

Black Canyon of the Gunnison was one of the highlights of our road trip—absolutely stunning and so much more impressive in person than any photo can capture. It’s one of those places that doesn’t always get the spotlight like some of the more famous parks, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. It feels wild, quiet, and untouched in all the best ways.
We visited during the off-season, which made the experience even better. There were very few people around, and we often had entire overlooks to ourselves. It gave us time to just stand and take in the incredible depth and steepness of the canyon walls—some of the most dramatic views we've seen in any park.
We spent most of our time exploring the South Rim, and it’s perfect for families or anyone wanting a good mix of scenic stops and short hikes. Every overlook felt unique, and the drive itself is beautiful with lots of places to pull off and explore. The kids loved hopping out at each stop, and we loved how easy it was to navigate without feeling rushed.
Even in the off-season, everything was well maintained. The ranger station was open, and the park was clearly cared for with pride. While we didn’t tackle any of the more extreme trails, the ones we did take were peaceful, rewarding, and filled with jaw-dropping views.
This park has a quiet power to it. It's not flashy, but it leaves a lasting impression. We left feeling like we’d discovered something truly special—and already talking about when we can go back to see the North Rim.
If you're anywhere near western Colorado, make time for Black Canyon. It's a gem of the national park system—peaceful, dramatic, and unforgettable.

They just had a wildfire a few weeks ago. Most of the park was closed due to the fire. The visitor center was saved. It is an impressive center. Great display and information. The staff are excellent. The view of the canyon is amazing!! No running water here. Be sure and bring you own

Plan to spend several hours here at the minimum! Could easily spend a day plus. Lots of short hikes some moderate to strenuous from the road.

This day was not overly busy, but for the 1st week of October and mid-week we were surprised by the number of people. Could be an issue with parking at viewpoints on busy days.

The Black Canyon was really nice, somewhat of a thriller looking down from the edge to see straight to the bottom. There’s trails all around the canyon from parking spots to get a better look. You could definitely skip a trip to the Grand Canyon for this experience!
Black Canyon of the Gunnison is an awe inspiring park with some of the steepest cliffs and most dramatic views you’ll find anywhere in the U.S. The sheer depth and ruggedness of the canyon are jaw dropping, and there are plenty of scenic overlooks that are easy to access, along with more challenging hikes if you want to venture deeper.
It’s worth noting that a decent portion of the park has been affected by wildfires, so some areas may look scarred or closed off depending on the season. Even so, the canyon itself remains absolutely stunning, and the resiliency of the landscape is impressive. The park had a very smoky smell to it upon entering.
Never knew about this national park but highly recommend it. Especially if you enjoy heights. Visited the south rim at the end of October, 2025. Has easy, short hikes to many overlooks. Except for the last overlook at Warner Point was longer but still worth it. With all of the short hikes to the overlooks, highly recommend for the older generation or for those that do not like to hike as much. Most overlook locations have parking with length of trail to overlooks. Also, don't forget to go to the East Portal to drive down into the gorge, along the river to Crystal Dam. Great views on the way down and along the river. Saw deer and big horn sheep along the drive.
Very cool park to see! We visited the south rim and the must see viewpoints are Dragon Point and Painted Wall View! This was national park #32 for me! Got to hit them all! Stay until sunset for the best colors.

The cave tour was fun. The food was good enough. Don't expect nice restaurant quality food. But we enjoyed it. Draft beer was yummy. The views were absolutely beautiful and the gondola that takes you up there, was super super fun. The employees all were nice. We didn't find a rude person up there at all. The vibe was great. We stayed up there from open to close. Took our time experiencing everything and riding the rides several times. The gift shop has surprisingly fair prices. This place i would say is a must visit if you are in Glenwood Springs or near.

Lovely, smaller amusement park with plenty to do. Our group went during the week (Thursday) and had a blast. Line wait times were short and all the rides were exciting. The food was also pretty decent (burgers and chicken tenders - as to be expected with these locations). I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance and paying a little extra ($10 when we went) for preferred parking. It's absolutely worth it as you can park right next to (if not very close) the gondolas that take you to the park.
Took my dad and my son here. My dad loves these rides. They’re unique because they’re hanging over the mountain, which adds a little extra thrill. It’s a great place not a lot of lines. We usually go in September October. Beautiful view from the mountain tops and the food is not that bad. The Cape tours are pretty cool too. The people that give the tour seem like they really enjoy it and are very knowledgeable about how caves work and all of the formations..
The views are stunning. The prices are reasonable. The coaster is probably one of the funnest things I’ve ever done and the cave tours are absolutely amazing if you have kids or even just if you’re an adult, the gondola ride is really fun and just the views when you come out of the caves or up top I absolutely love it here and if you’re visiting, you should check it out and do all of the rides and all of the cave tours, the guides and the tour guides are absolutely amazing extremely knowledgeable extremely funny. I absolutely love every time I come to visit going to Glenwood Springs and go to the adventure park.
Being a park and coaster enthusiast I’ve been to many parks. I had heard mostly good things about Glenwood Caverns and decided to take a day trip up there with a friend. I was thoroughly impressed with the park! The pricing felt reasonable for the attractions offered, service and staff were excellent, the atmosphere was quite nice, the food was decent, and the rides were of a good quality overall! I especially enjoyed the cave tours and 4 coasters! The tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and made for a fun experience inside both caves! I do wish they had a few more rides with more variety, but what they have is great!
After I got around the hiccup that was me figuring out the free parking, the GCAP was a excellent addition to my Glenwood experience.
The views up there are hard to beat, and while we intitially were up there in nothing but rain and fog, when the clouds finally parted it was truly magical.
It is to be noted that the adventure park is a bit limited to what younger children can do (think 10 and under) and some of the rides are a bit too high intensity for those of young age and wrangling any youngsters in caves can also be a hassle. I wasn't wrangling children myself but parents be aware.
The caverns are absolutely stunning but the Fairy Cavern miiiight trigger the unknowning claustrophobic (don't find out the hard way folks)

Yes you can drive up on Transfer Trail, up to the lot where I took these picture. Transfer Trail is a free public road. There is a separate back service only private road with restricted access to Glenwood Cavern Adventure park that is not open to the public. It is gated with no trespassing, but all other roads are free and open to the public.
It is a totally free drive, mostly gravel, but no need for a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Nice place to stop, enjoy the views, enjoy your picnic lunch. If you like, you can also visit Glenwood Adventure Park, ride the Gondola up and enjoy all the park has to offer. Gate passes run from $37 to $84 per person per day. I didn't see any family friendly pricing options on their website. Enjoy.
We visited a weekday at the end of October and it was fantastic. Only one food vendor was open at this time but that’s the only downside. The rides are fantastic for adrenaline junkies and there were little to no lines. We love a good cave as well and the tours were great! Highly recommend the black light tour of fairy caves.

Maroon Bells is a truly majestic place with breathtaking views, scenic walking trails, clean restrooms, and picnic tables. It’s family and pet friendly; accessible for everyone. The main trail is suitable for walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers.
If you have a handicap tag or plate, you’re allowed to drive up to the entrance and purchase a vehicle pass without needing a reservation. You can go up at any time of the day — no advance booking is required for vehicles with handicap tags or plates.
For all other visitors, you must make a reservation in advance with a specific time slot. If you buy a shuttle ticket for a certain time and arrive late, you’ll need to wait in line and board a later bus only if there’s space available. Parking is paid and collected upon arrival. If you wish to drive your own car, make sure to arrive before 8:00 AM — after that, access to the mountain is only allowed via the shuttle bus.

Great hike to Crater Lake. Try to get there early with the shuttle. It a moderate hike with some elevation a lot of boulders and rocks but it's worth while. It's like walking on the moon

We were able to visit in mid October and took the help of the shuttle bus and it was a blessing in disguise. Crowd was less and was more enjoyable.
We arrived at Aspen Highlands where we parked the car and took a bus ride that took about 20 minutes to the site. There are several easy trails around the lake and also the option of more difficult treks. We traveled in June and the conditions were pleasant, a light jacket was enough. It is worth reserving a place in advance for parking or transportation.
I love it! It's an easy round trail. If you would like a more challenging hike, you could take the trail to Crater Lake. Before going, people should buy round-trip shuttle tickets online. Remember the last bus of the day.

To state how beautiful the lake is, it would oversimplify how the mist from the lake gently sprays on the skin, cold air blowing after an exhausting hike many steps up. I had to wake up early to arrive there around 8 with my family. For entry, a reservation is needed to be permitted in; lucky, we were prepared with one. Before entering the trail, there was construction happening to the parking lot and parts of the trail that were blocked off. Near where the hiking trail begins, a section of the sidewalk is blocked, and we walk where barriers are connected to the other side. There are no struggles that happen at the beginning of the trail, thankfully. When hiking up, I thought it would take many minutes to get to the lake, but it was shocked when I saw the last stone staircase under 30 minutes. I am amused how the trail, known to be really rocky and loose with rumble, was a simple journey to walk through. Now, the lake itself is gorgeous to look at and take photos, but the path too has delightful details that make the journey already worth the visit. Honestly, writing a review on this location is a favor to go outside and take a break from the clutter-y week. Take care of yourself ❤️
The Hanging Lake Trail is about 2 miles long with some elevation, but it’s an easy hike thanks to the steps along the way. The lake at the end is beautiful, and the view is absolutely spectacular. We’ll definitely do it again!
Nice little hike. Very scenic at the top. Don't give up. If you can do the Manitou incline this is a piece of cake. Very rocky wear shoes with traction.

Definitely a rugged road to get there, it is 15 minutes from the downtown area up a winding dirt road. It would be sketchy going during the winter but a great experience. Awesome how they offer a shuttle service, I would definitely use that if weather conditions were different. My mom and I did great in a subaru, however no snow on the ground yet. Hot springs were excellent, such a cool experience. My mom has a hard time walking due to her medical conditions, and the walking path to the hot springs is just an inclined dirt path, kinda sketchy uneven terrain. We went down okay, slowly, however I'd recommend wearing nonslip shoes, it is definitely very slippery on the steps. Lots of stairs to get down there, so if bringing elderly, make sure to prepare for that. No cell service and truly is like a wilderness experience. Do not expect any resorty hot spring like the others, no frills. There was some construction going on there so did kinda hurt the relaxation experience to hear the cranes and equipment stuff however still had an amazing time. We spent a few hours there but wish we stayed longer, just such a cool experience!

The hot springs themselves are beautiful and super relaxing. The staff here though are rude, short, and unhelpful. They act super annoyed with you. Stayed just one night thank god. They didn't provide us with door codes to our cabins so we had to leave all our stuff in the car. I would have asked but omg just having a conversation with a staff member was like pulling teeth. One staff member yelled at us after we left and came back during the day because "we didn't tell them." Um sorry Stacey I didn't know I had to check in with you also why did you take the description of my vehicle if you're not going to use it? Better yet maybe give guests a ticket to put on their dashboard so you don't have to chase us down in your golf cart to prove a point? Sheesh. Yeah I'm really not down with the too cool to be bothered attitude of this place. Maybe shut down or find a better line of work if you hate your guest and don't want thier money? Anyways, I recommend valley view or desert reef hot springs. The staff there are incredibly welcoming and my money is better spent there.
I’ve been to Strawberry Hot Springs a couple of times now, and I will always keep going back. It’s one of the most unique and beautiful hot springs in Colorado. There are multiple pools, each with different temperatures from super hot to warm to even really cold plunge pools. It’s a natural hot spring, but it’s been shaped into an amazing man-made oasis that still blends perfectly with the surrounding nature.
At night, bathing suits are optional, which definitely creates a different vibe but still a cool and memorable experience if you’re comfortable with it.
Overall, this is an incredible spot in Steamboat Springs, perfect for relaxing after skiing, hiking, or just exploring the area. Peaceful, scenic, and totally worth the visit. Highly recommend!
Absolutely Worth the Trip!
We drove an extra 4½ hours to visit Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs, and it was totally worth it. The place is surrounded by beautiful mountains and peaceful nature — it felt like we were in another world. It was my wife’s first hot spring experience, and she absolutely loved it. Sitting in the warm water with mountain views all around was just amazing.
We were even lucky enough to see a fox walking by, which made the visit even more special. The place is well kept, clean, and has a very relaxing vibe. For the experience you get, the price is very reasonable.
If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, and refreshing escape, this spot is perfect. We’ll definitely be back again!

Tucked deep in the mountains, it feels like you’re slipping into a hidden oasis where everything slows down the moment you arrive. The natural pools are surrounded by tall pines and the sound of running water, and the mix of warm and hot springs makes it easy to find the perfect spot to relax.
The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful — rustic, quiet, and beautifully connected to nature. Even with other visitors around, it still feels serene because the layout is spacious and the views are stunning from every corner.
Getting there does require a bit of a drive along a rougher road, but it adds to the sense of adventure. Once you settle into the springs, it’s absolutely worth it. If you’re in Steamboat, Strawberry Hot Springs is a must — it’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after you leave.
After reading reviews I was hesitant about going to this hot springs. The concerning part, for me, was statements of rude staff. I decided to make a reservation and give it a shot regardless. I am so glad I did. This place is beyond beautiful. The pools are perfect with a great variety of temperatures. Best of all the staff was amazing. There is not a lot of interaction with staff if you are just using the springs and not utilizing the "hotel" part. They are not intrusive allowing you to enjoy your visit. The gentleman who took our payment was kind and even said if grandma couldn't make it back up the hill they would give her a ride up. On the way out a different employee was in the check-in booth and made a point to ask us how our visit was as we passed by. Proof that, although helpful, reviews should be taken lightly and you should make your own experiences. 10/10 hands down!
Went with my husband after dark, it was incredibly relaxing! I have a connective tissue syndrome that causes chronic pain, and the water helped so much! The staff were pleasant and polite. I loved that the pools had different temperatures. I wish so many people didn't use flashlights when nearing the pool to set their stuff down, but it's dark, so I understand, and not a fault of the staff. I went on a Saturday. I'm aware they clean their pools every Monday and Tuesday, but I wish they cleaned it another time of the week as well, as there were some wrappers in the water, unfortunately. Also, watch out for the rock in the parking lot!!

Depending on the path, going up is easy, wheel chair accessible. Going down, moderate with small rocks, we are a little older so each of us used a single walking stick just for balance, but most people didn't. Carry drinking water for hydration in this altitude. The fountains at trail head were dry. Beautiful scenery! We are here on August 31, a little warm but not bad. Parking challenging on weekends.
Hiked Fish Creek Falls today and it was the highlight of my trip. The trail to the upper falls really got my heart pumping, but reaching the top was worth every step—the views are incredible! The lower falls are easy to reach and perfect for photos, while the upper trail gives you a real adventure. Parking is $5, with restrooms and picnic tables. I’d go back in a heartbeat.”
The trails and area are well very maintained. My husband grilled up some steaks for us. You can't get much better in life than a nice meal, a beautiful view, and the love of your life. We went on the uranium prospect trail, and it was absolutely beautiful!
Absolutely breathtaking. Would do the hike over and over again. First part of hike is easy and accessible for all.
There are a couple of short hikes to view the waterfall! All very easy paths, and some are paved. We encountered a mom with two baby moose which was an exhilarating experience! She ended up chasing us a little ways up the path!

I visited Breckenridge Ski Resort in late April and early May, during the second-to-last week of the season. At that time, only Peak 6 and Peak 7 were open—unfortunately, Peaks 8 through 10 were already closed, which was a bit disappointing. 😕 However, because it was the end of the season, the slopes were pleasantly uncrowded and peaceful. ⛷️
One day during my stay, it snowed about 2 inches, which made for great conditions! Except for the last day (when the snow was a bit slushy), the weather and snow quality were excellent. According to the forecast, they were expecting 6 more inches of snow the following week—snowing in May is pretty wild! ❄️🌨️
Most of the chairlifts on Peak 6 and Peak 7 had footrests, which made the ride up much more comfortable—no need to keep holding up your board the whole time. 👍
The staff were also incredibly friendly. One of them even lent me his personal screwdriver when I couldn’t find the right tool to tighten my snowboard bindings. 🛠️ Really appreciated that kind gesture!
Usually, parking 🅿️ at the resort isn’t free—weekday or weekend, you have to pay. But during Locals Appreciation Month in May, parking was free, which was a nice bonus! Breckenridge also offers a free shuttle bus around town. It runs about every 30 minutes and, while not super frequent, it’s still a convenient option if you don’t want to deal with parking.
Overall, despite some terrain being closed, it was a great late-season experience. I’d love to come back earlier in the season to explore more of the mountain! 🏔️

Fun for all ages; cold on top of the mountain, a light garment is advisable. Gondolas are free to hop in and out, coaster was great. A place for families with dogs, young and old alike. Love it!
We took the gondola up to Breckenridge Ski Resort — it’s the third stop — and when you get out, even in summer, there’s plenty to do. You can ride the mountain slide, play mini golf, or check out a few other fun activities. There’s a nice outside restaurant and bar area where you can relax, and I loved that they had big chess set up too.
Being up there was gorgeous — the mountain views are amazing. If you want to go even higher, you can take a chairlift up to the very top. I really enjoyed the whole experience. It’s a great spot to spend time in the summer, not just winter.

It's our first time in Breckenridge (my husband and I) and we're in love! We're definitely coming back. We don't ski, and we like to travel off season. We're here in the fall and loving every minute of it. There's so much to see and so many places to visit and drive through, it's never a dull moment. You don't want to drive anywhere? You can always hike the slopes and enjoy the views from up above. It reminds me of my childhood spent hiking in the Carpathian mountains. If you have a chance to come here even off season, take it. You won't regret it.
Fun summer day on the mountain, plenty to do for all ages. The gravity coaster is a blast as was the slide. Taking the chair lift to the top, and back down, gives you awesome views of the mountains and the valley.
Fun activities, alpine slides and alpine roller coasters, along with some other stuff like bungee trampolines. The alpine slides were very fun but the waits made them almost not worth it. And it was very expensive. Expect at least ~$100 dollars unless you only want to go on one ride (which would be ~$45) We also skipped lunch because of the crappy food that was also incredibly expensive, so bring your own.
So overall:
•Rides (Alpine slides specifically) - 5 stars
•Waits - 3 stars (An hour sometimes)
•Food - 1 star, didn’t even eat, too expensive for what they offered
Personally I would’ve gone on a beautiful hike for free but it was still a great day.
We loved this place, I can't help but to be honest that the people at the front desk are super friendly, but the maid service and workers doing renovations are not. Not 1 of them. My suspicion tells me it's because of their ethnicity and aren't treated fairly or equally. The resort itself is pretty beautiful with great amenities. My only advice would be....don't forget the people on the front lines.

Royal Gorge Bridge & Park is a 360-acre amusement park located atop a canyon with one of the highest suspension bridges globally. The 1260ft-long bridge was constructed in 1929 across the 950ft-deep Royal Gorge, which stretches for 10 miles west of Canon City.
Although I am rating this place 5 stars, I want to put a note out there. There is not a "Bridge only" option. Basically if you want to go out to the bridge, you are paying for that and all but one of the rides they offer there. I think Ziplining is excluded. I paid $39 to just access the place, which I think is a little much. If it was $25 to just see the bridge, then fine, but whatever. The view looking out and down at the Gorge is so relaxing and breathtaking. On a warm day, the wind up there is very relaxing and you just want to close your eyes and take it all in. I shot pictures of the 12:30PM Royal Gorge train outbound from Canon City which is a 15 minute drive from town. Seen from the bridge, almost looking down is the Hanging Bridge on the railroad, which of course is seen better from the train itself (See my review on that).

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Royal Gorge. The children enjoyed the playground, and we all enjoyed taking the gondola ride across the canyon. There were quite a few people there on the day we visited, but the grounds are expensive enough that it did not feel very crowded. We decided to take in the raptor show, and we’re very glad we did. Everyone really enjoyed it, and we thought it was much better than the 20 minute film about the gorge itself. My wife and I even did the zip line, and wow, it is quite expensive, we really enjoyed it and would recommend it! The bridge itself is pretty amazing and just walking back across it was one of the highlights
What a breathtaking place! The Royal Gorge is absolutely stunning — photos don’t even begin to capture the beauty and the scale of it all. We loved walking across the bridge, taking in the mountain views, and feeling that Colorado breeze. The flags lining the bridge make it even more special — like a walk through history and pride!
The park is spotless and well maintained, and there are so many fun spots to stop for photos (especially near the water wheel and signs — those are musts!). It’s one of those places that makes you stop and really take in how incredible nature is.
Highly recommend visiting if you’re anywhere near Canon City — it’s worth every minute of the drive. Gorgeous weather, gorgeous views, and a memory we’ll never forget!
This is something everyone should put on their bucket list to see as it is truly amazing. We went early before it got windy and walked across the bridge. The scenery there is beautiful and the park itself is so nice and clean. We went on the gondola ride, saw the movie and a raptor show. Highly recommend.

Walk the rim trail that's outside the park for some great photos
The views are spectacular! The price for the tram is reasonable. For those that are not faint of heart there is a zip line to return you to the lodge side. But wait there is more. A giant swing will send you out to the edge of the gorge. The area is full of American history as well as fossils of ancient creatures. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
The Royal Gorge was a fabulous experience. Riding the cable car across the gorge was the highlight for me. Walking the bridge isn’t too far either. Highly recommend both!
My toddler loved that we could ride the carousel 10 times in a row. We enjoyed the playground and spent a little extra to let our kids mine for gems which was fun. We had a picnic lunch under one of the pavilions with our kids and after we ate at the BBQ place which had delicious cornbread.
All in all, it’s a family-friendly atmosphere that allows you to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Colorado!
Great place, amazing views. Nice kids area. The free gondola ride across the Gorge was neat too.
Only problem was we got fleeced for $10 and some change for the old West shooting range of which none of the features except two worked. Kids were disappointed with that.

Day visit during the Summer ... Only 1.5 hrs from Denver. The drive is breathtaking. Great customer service. We decided to book an e-bike tour the same day, last minute so we had to call. We did the Riverside tour but the mountain tour was also an option. If we had arrived earlier maybe we could have done both. Included with it was a day pass for the gondola and $12 drink voucher (can only be redeemed on resort owned restaurants. Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. The bikes were pretty comfortable. The only disappointment was the food options after.
Rooms were very nice. Not a hotel but hotel-like. Multiple restaurants were shutdown during our stay (the one we wanted to go to was shutdown for a private event) & restaurant shutdowns weren't mentioned when we booked. One of the 2 mountain slides was also shutdown. Other than that a nice place to visit.
Winter Park is a great family ski resort. Nice accommodations and cute little village. The stores do close down by 6pm or so, not a lot of nightlife but great for families that like to hang out.
Winter Park is perfect for people of all ages and skill levels. They are skilled at providing for an extremely large number of people all at once. Everyone was very, friendly, helpful, and understanding. We attended the beginning ski school and were expertly matched with the best instructors for our needs. My instructor Gordon was extremely patient with me and made sure that I had the best experience possible. My husband's instructor Diago was awesome too.
We had such a fun and organized experience at Winter Park! The ice tubing area is very well managed, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They also have hot cocoa and snacks available, which made the whole experience even better.
Don’t forget to take the gondola to the Winter Park Village for beautiful scenic views, great food options, and access to skiing. Perfect winter outing for families!

That we simply can not afford When we asked for a refund, they refused, citing their “8-day window” policy—despite the fact that they didn’t provide the necessary information before that window closed. This was inconsiderate, poorly handled, and shows a lack of responsibility toward their customers.

Really beautiful scenery. We stopped here pretty briefly, and unfortunately the peak was closed so we didnt go very far, but gorgeous nonetheless.
Wonderful spot. Biked to the top ages ago. Evans having been the territorial governor and perhaps having acted to cover up the needless loss of life of indigenous people, then lost the mountain that bore his name for over 100 years. So it goes.
One of the most incredible mountain drives you can do in Colorado. It truly was the experience of a lifetime. The sights were breathtaking, from the mountains, lakes, valleys, to wildlife, couldn’t recommend more. At one point we drove into a thunderstorm, then above it. I would do this every day of my life if I could.

Drove up around 10am on a Sunday. Beautiful day, lots of bikers riding up (kudos to them!) and relatively low traffic. Saw a herd of goats approaching the parking lot. ‘Hiked’ the summit trail and had some gorgeous views to go with the easiest 14er.
A great and easy way to experience a 14er! Purchased tickets in advance and drove to the top parking lot. There were many pretty views along the way. At the top we ran into so many mountain goats and marmots! We hiked to the top, which was a short trail with some mild elevation gains. The elevation definitely made a huge difference. At the top, we were roughly at 14,225 feet!

Wow. Wow. Wow. First time here for a concert, and this place is BONKERS cool! Great views. Obviously. Great sounding show. Good food and beverage access and options. I need to come back during the day and check out the museum and the surrounding areas. Sooo cool!
This was easily one of the best stops on our trip. The views were absolutely beautiful. We had a tour guide with us who was very knowledgeable about the area and the theatre itself.
It's a bit of an intense hike up, but it's well-worth the climb.
Gift shop is at the top as well as a wall with everyone who has performed there, and a history section.
It was really fun and I would go again. Definitely something everyone should see.
Incredible landmark. The layout is amazing even if you are just visiting for views or exercise. The trails around the park provide great views all around. The inside has a lovely gift shop, nice restrooms and awesome museum style set up for education on the location. This place was so awesome, I visited twice this trip.

I visited Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre at the end of summer, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The natural rock formations are stunning, and the views of Denver from the top are incredible. The amphitheater itself is iconic standing there feels like being part of music history.
The hiking trails were well-maintained and offered a great mix of scenery and exercise. Parking was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you go, make sure to catch a sunset; it’s magical!

Magnificent amphitheater from the surroundings to the engineering and design. If you ever get the opportunity to see a concert or service….go. Amphitheater looks to the east so sunrise services are spectacular and one is not looking into the sun for evening concerts. We were there and they were testing the sound system…. Quite impressive in an empty amphitheater. Take a look at the museum below and see the hall of fame performers.
Always delivers! Visit and experience the museum! The restaurant is also really good with plenty of outdoor seating. Love the history and that it is completely accessible to the public. There are also miles and miles of trails to enjoy the stunning beauty! If you are lucky enough to go to an actual concert, it is super!

It’s Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival last week Sunday and there’s a plenty of activities for kids, a lot of tulips . So many people enjoying the Live music and other streets performance . You need to park a bit far tho and walk. It’s an outdoor mall style. You need to dine if you want to use a decent restroom. Parking is not free, but not expensive .

Absolutely wonderful area to have a drink, eat, shop, or just wander around looking at people. Lots of the restaurants on the mall have patios or rooftop decks. They have banned on the bricks every Wednesday night during the summer. Very festive atmosphere! We loved it!

This is a first time at the Pearl Street mall, and what a great vibe. The shops were so cute, and what an amazing variety. We had lunch down there as well, and it was delicious. Such a lovely spot!
Bring your wallet and your dancing shoes! This strip is full of great artisanal shops and delicious food options. The lively atmosphere and street performers make this a great evening hangout. Be ready to dance to some local musicians and help get the dance circle going!
Or if you’re lucky, the zip-code man may be there to blow your mind with his thorough knowledge about anywhere/everywhere in America.

Went to the 16th street rival, it was a lot of fun. There is still sketchy people but there was a big police presence and security guards.

If you visit Denver, Colorado, visit the 16th Street Mall. There are different food options to choose from, and you can take a nice walk.
This was disappointing. I am a big supporter of pedestrianized streets and place making but this feels like it has failed to live up to it's potential. The center of the wide street is left open, possibly reserved for buses, though we never saw any. While some very nice and cute seating and other features have been created on the sidewalks the failure to utilize the majority of the street leaves it feeling a bit barren. Also the stores along the street are often chains like H&M & Target and not the mix of interesting smaller local shops you'll find on Boulder's Pearl Street or Linden St. in Ft. Collins. Still worth checking out after visiting the Capitol or the great History & Art Museums on the other side of the park as there seems to be some decent dining options, including outdoor dining, but it could be so much more.
16th Street was ok. It’s a Friday and overcast so not much people out. But if you like to drink alcohol there’s plenty of places for that. Good place to take walk.
This is a lovely place to spend a day. I enjoyed all the boutique shops, the restaurants, and even passed through a few places just to people watch for a while. Quite the gatherings here on weekends. But you can visit any day of the week and I guarantee you’ll have a good time. Check out the bowling alley for extra fun.
Denver’s 16th Street Mall is a 1.7-mile pedestrian corridor in downtown, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment. The free shuttle makes getting around easy, and nearby attractions include the Central Library and Paramount Theatre. Renovations have improved the area, though visitors should be mindful of occasional safety concerns.
A little history here before I begin my review. In the 1990s the 16th Street Mall was a hub for social interactions and shopping galore. Many who lived in the Downtown area would enjoy the peace and serenity of the 16th Street Mall at night. The 16th Street Mall has been rebuild and redesign twice now in Denver's history. With that said.
Unfortunately, when Colorado legalized marijuana in the 2000s is when the 16th Street Mall became a liability to those that went there. Gangs, homeless drug addicts, and crime increased and many clean and sober hard working taxpayers didn't feel safe unless they were carrying a side arm for protection. One couldn't escape the smell of marijuana that enveloped the Mall from all the smoking done there. Many businesses closed up as a result of less foot traffic meaning customers were far and few. Even tourist dared not travel the Mall at night.
From news reports in 2025 that I have read about the rebuild of the 16th Street Mall now just 16th Street. The Mall part was dropped under a $100k ad blitz. My wife and I had to move from Denver to Minnesota in 2019, but do remember the 16th Street Mall of old before marijuana legalization.
All of the construction to widen the side walks, so many businesses are closed, it was disappointing. And there are so many homeless people, it was concerning. In the city's effort to make the area better, I feel they actually made it worse.

Love this place! Went too the Rockies game Friday Night with some friends and we had an awesome time! We parked lot B and got a bus shuttle that took us to the entrance and they were awesome people and friendly too! And got into the game easy and no problem! Their were so much food spots to choose from , so we end up getting random food that cost us $75 and didn’t finish it all . We finally try the Rockies Dog! Very good and enjoyed that! So after the game we got back on the shuttle bus and took us to our parking it was easy! Well can’t wait too be back for another game!

The park was clean and comfortable. All seats provided excellent viewing. Multiple vendors offered a variety of services and prices that were reasonable.
I would highly recommend this park of you love baseball.
Coors Field is one of the best ballparks around! The atmosphere is always incredible - from the mountain views to the energy of the crowd, it’s such a fun experience whether you’re a big baseball fan or just there for a great day out. The stadium is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food and drink options never disappoint.

Fun way to spend the afternoon! Even better when the Rockies win! Did you know that you can make reservations for the Mountain Ranch Bar & Grille and for $32 a person you can sit inside/outside in the shade and comfy seats and eat at the buffet. Don’t tell anyone about this cool, secret spot!
Beautiful stadium. We want to a day game so it got pretty hot. If you are attending a day game, consider tickets towards the back of a section that has a cover. Loved that they had sunscreen at the first aid stations and had water refill stations. We enjoyed the view from the roof and by the bullpens before we sat in our seats. I also loved that they had a kids food area with very reasonable prices! It’s right by the playground. Entertainment between innings could be more exciting.
This is a great ballpark. It is gorgeous inside and out. It has a timeless look and feel. It’s so inviting you feel like Babe Ruth played there. It’s located a mile high above sea level and the views are amazing. I would highly recommend and you should buy some merch at the on site store and the food is fantastic and reasonably priced.
Coors Field is one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country. There is truly nothing like the views of the Rocky Mountains from the stands sunset games are unbelievable. The atmosphere is fun, relaxed, and very “Colorado,” and it’s the perfect place to catch a Rockies game on a nice day.

Denver Botanic Gardens is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and art lovers alike. We visited the Denver Botanic Gardens with the whole family on Sunday at 11 a.m. The day was lovely with nice, quite warm weather. There were no spots in the outdoor parking lot, so we waited a little for someone to leave.
The autumn garden deserves special attention. The atmosphere is very peaceful and calming. It reminds us of our native home. The beautiful scents of flowers and autumn leaves, in harmony with the smell of moisture from the local ponds and fountains, truly delight the heart.
Some parts of the garden are closed due to ongoing work for Halloween preparations.
We were very happy to have the opportunity to grab a quick bite at the local bistro. We really enjoyed their Hive Burgers.
I recommend visiting the Botanic Gardens in all seasons. It is always beautiful in its own unique way.

The Denver Botanic Gardens is an absolute must-visit! My recent trip was fantastic, and I was especially impressed by the way the Gardens blend natural beauty with thoughtful, modern design.
The Science Pyramid is a major highlight—the hexagonal, honeycomb exterior is a striking piece of architecture (as seen in the photos!) that beautifully introduces the concepts of biomimicry and conservation science. It's truly eye-catching and creates a wonderful focal point for the campus.
Beyond the architecture, the gardens themselves are a vibrant escape. From the rich green textures of the tropical conservatory (like the beautiful palms and ferns in the images) to the colorful outdoor beds, everything is meticulously maintained. The variety is outstanding, making it easy to spend hours wandering through different biomes. Whether you're a serious botanist or just looking for a peaceful, beautiful afternoon, this place delivers. Don't miss the chance to explore the different water features and the varied foliage! Highly recommend it.
I visited the Denver Botanic Gardens on November 10th, and it was an absolute highlight of the autumn season! The gardens were bursting with vibrant fall colors—reds, oranges, and golds everywhere you looked, creating a stunning natural palette that’s perfect for this time of year. It’s like a peaceful oasis right in the heart of the city, where you can escape the hustle and bustle and just immerse yourself in tranquility. The Denver botanic gardens is a wonderful oasis in a busy city neighborhood. We love all of the landscape design and attention to detail. While it was crowded on a weekend, there was plenty of room in the beautiful landscaped areas and walkways to see and enjoy this botanic garden. They have a wonderful shop with some beautiful handicrafts and gifts that are nature-themed. It definitely was worth it making a trip to this beautiful garden.
So beautiful. Even if you have no interest in gardening yourself, an oasis of calm and beauty, with a koi pind and water features. perfect for a mini break in your day, with free parking! nice little cafe, too. When its snowing, the green houses are magical. If you do garden, or love houseplants, you will be inspired. I treated myself to a membership. So worth it, because i can stop in for a quick zen break whenever im in the neighborhood .

An absolutely beautiful viewing for all to see! There are a range of plants to come and observe here, I am not a plant expert but I’m sure one of those would have an even better time here than I did. I did go in November so maybe it is better in the summer too? But it was really hot when I went so I had a good time!
Worth going to!
Going to a botanical garden in late fall is always a gamble, however I was so impressed by the well maintained gardens. They were organized by theme, and each space inspired a sense of reflection. My absolute favorite part was the orangery which smelled heavenly! I would definitely go back for either the lights or when more plants are growing!
Lots of great exhibits. Indoors and outdoors. I went during the week. The cafe inside was also convenient. Staff was helpful when I had questions on directions. Lots of cool plants/trees

Hands down one of our favorite breweries in Asheville! You cannot go wrong with their large beer assortment. If you don’t like beer, try one of the sours or Fruit Smash Hard Seltzer. They almost always have a food truck & they offer Poppy Popcorn(local business) for sale at the counter. You can also bring your own snacks! There are many outdoor areas to choose from, some of which are covered. They are completely family & dog friendly! Just love NB for every reason!

I had the pleasure of visiting New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins with my daughter, my partner, and her family — and let me just say, this place exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric but relaxed. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and impressively knowledgeable about the beers, which made the whole tasting experience even more enjoyable.
We started off with a couple of flights to get a sense of the variety, and it was hard to pick a favorite — they were that good. But once I did, I stuck with a few pours of my top picks, and every sip was a reminder of how expertly crafted their beer is.
There was a Mexican food truck on-site that seriously blew us away. The food was fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the beers.
The indoor space was welcoming and full of energy, but it’s the outdoor area that really shines — wide open, dog-friendly, and full of life with kids running around, families laughing, and groups just enjoying the day. It felt like the backyard party you always want to be invited to.
This wasn’t just a trip to a brewery — it was an experience. One of those rare places that nails everything: the beer, the food, the vibe, the people, the setting. I’d come back in a heartbeat, and I’ll be telling everyone I know to make the trip.

Just a short walk from the middle of Old Town, New Belgium Brewery is worth the trip. Whether you are a fan of Fat Tire or just like to try some new beer varieties, there is something for everyone here. The large, open, outside area is an awesome place to sit and enjoy the wonderful Colorado climate and delicious beers. There was a food truck for snacking and plenty of NB paraphernalia in the gift shop.
Guessing that this is in everyone's list of breweries to visit in town. If not it should be. Fabulous facility with beautiful grounds and a relaxing vibe. All of the usual NB beers on tap and several other must-haves.

Got a case of beer from Costco and there's like 1 that is drinkable. The rest is fine if you like some mystery flavor. Maybe it's raspberry maybe it's dead orphan meat. Ohh this one is a nappy beer with a hint of collection of nail clippings. The worst purchase I've ever made beer wise. And I have made quite a few poor decisions in my day.
I went on this beer tour in 2022 and was so impressed that I brought a bachelor party back here in 2025. The space is beautiful, the tour is interesting (though hot for the first section, so be prepared), and for your money you get a lot of delicious beer. If you’re interested in beer or how anything is made, it’s a don’t miss. Make sure to buy tickets well in advance - they sell out fast.
This brewery has one of the nicer outside spaces; it is very open and vast. I never felt like I was sitting on top of anyone . The beer selection was great and the flights were super smooth. Overall it was a great time and I’ll definitely be back!
We went to this brewery while doing a roadtrip. We did a tour with Cynthia. It was perfect ! We absolutely loved the tour ! Very interesting and fun. I love that you get to see from the beginning to the very end of the process. We stayed after to enjoy a beer. Cynthia was very nice ! The outside area is very nice and the beers are very good ! Definitely would recommend. We even left with suggestions of what to do in Fort Collins ! Would defintely recommend to visit this place and take the tour !
