Been going here since I was a child. My Nana would take us here to walk the trails nd do out homework, what a reward! Lots to do at this beautiful river park! Bring your family and friends for a great time. Enjoy the river and the splash bad if you have little ones! Events are great to have at this location, covered gazebos and some with fans for hot days! Amazing place to be!
Jennica L — Google review
It's my favorite place to go on a run or have a picnic and cool off by the river. It can have homeless, but the city has done a good job at keeping it clean and safe in recent years.
Derick W — Google review
GREAT TRAILS for walking , very well kept up. The people that work at the park are over the top in both friendliness & kindness. I saw an elderly couple take a fall and instantly a park truck stopped and offered assistance. It appears that those that work there do indeed take a lot of pride in their work.
Gordon J — Google review
This is my favorite Park. I take my dog through walks down there. It's nice. Lot of deer fishing's good too
Robert W — Google review
Shaded parking lots, altogether a very large park by the river (aptly named). There is a fruiting Mulberry tree near the river that produces delicious fruit and large trees which make the park very cool compared to the surrounding area.
Dawson W — Google review
Looking for a fantastic FREE spot to cool off with the kids? This splash pad is an absolute gem! It's a superb place for children to splash and play, with really nice water features that keep them entertained. Parents, you'll appreciate the shaded area where you can relax while keeping an eye on the little ones. Plus, the entire park is well-manicured, making for a pleasant and inviting experience. Highly recommend!

Gaumer's Jewelry

Jewelry store
Museums
Specialty Museums
Gaumer’s is truly a gem in Red Bluff! We love picking out raw geodes and having them cut open for a small fee, it is so much fun to see what is inside. A highlight of our trips to Northern California and the perfect souvenir. Perfect stop on your way to Mt. Lassen.
Kendra — Google review
Huge store with a ton of museum quality displays. They’ve got a great selection of both rough and polished pieces. I could have spent hours (and several hundred dollars) here. Friendly and helpful staff. Can’t wait to come back!
Topher B — Google review
The best place to get your specimens, slabs, rough, and supplies for your Lapidary needs and they do jewelry repair and cleaning and have a nice selection of jewelry. Everyone who works there is a mass of knowledge and very friendly a must see collection for anyone starting rockhound to experienced miner.
Jeffrey A — Google review
You definitely want to give yourself enough time to look through the museum and the store because it's filled with so many amazing rocks and fossils. The dark room in the museum section is so cool. My parents have purchased quite a few pieces of jewelry from Gaumers, and it's all beautiful. Seeing the store in person was really a treat. The jewelry is beautiful and reasonably priced. The women who worked there were friendly and attentive as well. I will be making it a point to stop in every time I'm in Northern CA. Updated October 2023*- Gaumer's is still just as lovely and has added a new room within the museum area, which is a must-see.
Serena Y — Google review
Amazing store. Amazing service. Always happy to be there and see them. They have so many beautiful jewels, jewelry, rocks, minerals, fossils, and of course the museum. Theres something for everyone there :)
Jon S — Google review
Wow! If you love rocks, you must stop and see.
Ana P — Google review
Love it here I just love coming to look around. My family and I go very often and occasionally purchase stuff from here. The employees and even the owners are very friendly and knowledgeable
Sara C — Google review
When my dad was a kid he grew up in Red Bluff and played around at the Gaumer's gem shop. He learned a lot there from the family and he brought us up there when we went out to visit his side of our family. The ownere there were very nice and remembered him and were able to catch up. Their rock museum has many awesome educational examples of precious stones and ancient artifacts! They have several examples of Native American arrowheads, petrified wood, many mortars and pestles, as well as a display of old gold-mining equipment. They have a special dark room set up where you can shine different wavelength UV light onto reactive stones and see them glow, as well as a beautiful backlight display of slab agates and other kinds of stones that kids can look into detail in. We came with our younger cousin who seemed to really enjoy looking at all the stones. They also have many examples of precious stones sculptures from many different artistic traditions, cultures, and methods. Definitely a place to visit if you're going through to the mountains to learn about the terrain around Lassen, Shasta, or Tehama county in general.

Olive Pit

Gourmet grocery store
Cafe
Nestled just south of Red Bluff along the I-5 freeway, Olive Pit is a delightful pit stop that every traveler should consider during their journey. This expansive shop offers an impressive array of olive-related products, including various olive oils and vinegars, alongside a self-serve condiment bar for customizing your meals. The tasting bar is a highlight where you can sample an assortment of olives before indulging in delicious menu items like their famous BLT or burgers loaded with olives.
It was super quick and really delicious, especially the milkshake with almond butter. Just make sure to grab the toppings for the Build-Your-Own on the side — they’re right next to the pickup area. I missed when they called out my burger because the staff member spoke very fast and it was hard to understand, but we figured it out and had a great meal
LENNA B — Google review
Excellent roadside “pit stop” featuring free olive tastings, interesting snacks and gifts, friendly staff, and clean bathrooms. Wide variety of olive products such as oils, stuffed olives, jams and candies, cosmetics, tchotchkes and gifts. The free olive tasting bar is self-operated. Step right up to experience a variety of familiar and new flavors such as Beer, Texas Hot Chili, Garlic Stuffed, Almond Stuffed, Anchovy Stuffed, and more. Large, shady parking lot surrounded by olive trees.
Dimitra S — Google review
Passing through from Oregon and seen this olive store that sells olives that are grown from near by trees and they had pretty good selection including olives marinated in beer. Also have Olive oil, you can even sample some of them both. There is also a small area here that sells burgers and sandwiches.
Santos C — Google review
Great pit stop (pun intended) between Sacramento and Redding. There's an olive tasting bar, including olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Overall, while the grocery store itself has a lot to offer, our kids love the little cafe the most, which allows them to build their own burgers and indulge in really crispy tater tots.
Bhavik P — Google review
This place is "olive overdose". Many olive varieties and specialty foods. Quality with simple ingredients make the flavors next level. The burgers are exceptional. The shakes are 5☆. I suggest you ask the clerk which one is their favorite. Can't go wrong
Cheryl T — Google review
I stopped by because of all the signs along highway 5. The Olive Pit is amazing! All the different olives, and they have an olive tasting bar for you to try them. Stop by the café and try their Mufalatta burger or sandwich, they are delicious. Also they have a condiment bar to make sure you put on it what you like. Give this place a try, it is not expensive and the people working here are extremely nice.
El D — Google review
Super fun to try new olives and oil. Clean and personable. Fun stop on a long drive. Bought the garlic olive oil and blue cheese stuffed spicy olives. Great gifts.
Becky K — Google review
Right off interstate 5. Easy access going north or south. Nice sized parking lot. Plenty of items to choose from if you have time. The free samples are enjoyable and gives you an idea of what you might be looking for.

What a cool place! The owner Corey took us on a tour of the olive oil plant before our taste testing. They sell some deliscous olive oils. Corey and his crew are aweosme! Their service and hospitality were great! I highly recommend!

Awesome! The factory is right there. We arrived out of season, but the maintenance manager was there and gave us an impromptu tour of the whole facility, with the classic Italian machinery! Super fun and informative.
Geo H — Google review
Really great selection of olive oils and vinaigrettes! We really appreciate the recommendation of the woman who helped us when we arrived - lemon olive oil, who knew that was a thing! Finding it was a little confusing, you have to walk along the right side of the building, go through the first door you come to, and the store is through the warehouse.
Gloria D — Google review
The building is the warehouse and not inviting at all. The tasting room is not fancy and just one small room. That being said, we loved the man (dang it forgot his name) who sold us on almost everything available. The oils were so good and the infused garlic amazing. We also bought fruit balsamic vinegar. We were so happy we were brave and called to inquire.
Kelley K — Google review
Best pickled asparagus I have ever had is sold here!!!!! Will be making a trip next week to stock up on it....

Had a great time during an unannounced visit, with the owner Ray. Has many delicious oils, olives and marinated garlic cloves available. Worth the time.

Rolling Hills Casino and Resort

Ordered a Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich. Delicious. We ate up at the bar. Gal was very nice & friendly. Checked into our room for a quick night after a long day of traveling. The blond gal who checked us in was really nice and we remembered her from last year. Room was clean and spacious. Reasonable price.
Carol Y — Google review
Having already sung the praises of Rolling Hills’ incredible restaurants and lively bars, it’s only fair to spotlight the crown jewel of the experience: the rooms and service. Simply put, they exceed expectation at every turn. From the moment you check in, you’re met with service that feels less like hospitality and more like genuine care. Every detail in the room speaks of pride and precision with spotless cleanliness, crisp linens, and a layout that offers both comfort and calm after a day of casino excitement. It’s rare to find a resort where convenience is woven so seamlessly into the experience. A short stroll connects you effortlessly to the casino floor, entertainment, and amenities, yet the rooms themselves remain a quiet retreat, insulated from the buzz. If you want a stay that lets you indulge, recharge, and feel truly looked after, Rolling Hills delivers it in spades.
Marc T — Google review
Room and bathroom beautiful and so clean, the sheets and pillows white and smells clean, love it. Shampoo, conditioner ,body wash and really nice white clean towels ❤️ plus a coffee maker. The only problem was the noise from the top rooms, so next time we will ask for a room in the top floors 🤭. Thank you Rolling hills Casino and resort .

I am happy with the Fat burger inside. They have Trucker and RV parking 👍. They have a gas station. Always clean and stocked. The casino has fun games and I have always won when going. Bathrooms are always clean. Definitely a smaller casino from what I am used to but, it’s kinda a small town. I have not been to Rockin Brews yet but, I have eaten at the cafe and I was happy. You never know if you could be the next jackpot winner. If I win a jackpot, I will likely go to Rockin Brews Restaurant.
Up F — Google review
Clean, vibrant with plenty of machines and tables. Drink service was prompt and tasty. The air was strong with cigarette smoke as a con. Would stop by again!
Tony G — Google review
Rolling Hills Casino is hands down one of the best casino experiences I’ve had! From the moment I walked through the doors, the staff made me feel welcome and well taken care of. The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming, and everything is kept clean and comfortable, which really makes the whole visit enjoyable. The gaming floor has a great mix of slot machines and table games, so whether you’re a casual player or someone who likes to dive into the action, there’s something for everyone. I also appreciated how attentive the dealers and attendants were — they’re friendly, helpful, and really make sure you’re having a great time. The food options are excellent, too! Delicious meals, generous portions, and quick service. It’s super convenient to grab something tasty without having to leave the fun. Overall, I left with a big smile and can’t wait to go back. Rolling Hills Casino goes above and beyond with customer service, entertainment, and a fun, relaxing environment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great night out or a weekend getaway!
David A — Google review
Nice casino. Lots of games on an spacious floor, grab-&-go or sit-&-dine food choices as well as hotel room service accommodations available upon request, two separate hotel wings with pool access to hotel guests, huge parking lot, casino is located next door to a truck stop, RV Resort, gas station/convenience store (slots can even be found inside the mini market), hotel golf club with a huge grassy field, and even a rodeo ground for annual events, etc. Friendly staff, clean and well maintained casino, several large restroom facilities regularly attended to... everything you'd expect from a casino. I believe they recently upgraded their players card system to accommodate credit/debit cards directly on the machines, which is bitter sweet. Above all, positive experiences during my past visits. I look forward to going back again!

Honey Run Covered Bridge & Park is a beautifully restored historic covered bridge located in Butte County, California. Built in 1886 to connect Butte Creek Canyon to Paradise Ridge during the gold rush, it now serves as a pedestrian walkway within the scenic Honey Run Covered Bridge Park. The park offers picnic spots and a relaxing setting for visitors to enjoy.
I love this place. I have to go down to my town where I was born in paradise. California and I also had to go visit the honey run road bridge it's a very beautiful place
Rosemary J — Google review
I never got to see the original bridge prior to its destruction from the Camp Fire in 2018. I have been wanting to see the newly finished replacement since it opened this year. I was impressed with the new one. They did a wonderful job.
Glen M — Google review
The bridge was redone beautifully. The bathrooms were clean and open. There isn't much parking and access is a bit rough for disabled folks. We also found there to be ticks near the water. Views were great though.
Dionna F — Google review
We are lucky to have residents in the Centerville area that were committed to restoring the bridge. It really turned out great. It's a landmark that needed to be rebuilt.
Mark C — Google review
I am a Filipino and married an American man here at the honey run bridge. This is my experience when my boyfriends asked me if I wanted to get married on the bridge my answer was YES but I didn't know where, when we arrived at the honey run bridge I said why are we here the bridge is rotten but I didn't know this bridge was so memorable. I am happy to be part of the memories here. Here is my married photo with my spouse's best friend, the pastor, and my friend. Come join us!!

I haven't been here since the Camp fire in 2018 they did a really great job rebuilding it

Lower Bidwell Park is a picturesque oasis that offers an abundance of tree-lined paths perfect for walking and biking, making it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Families can enjoy the various picnic areas, playgrounds, and shallow swimming spots along Chico Creek. With lifeguards on duty during summer months, it's a safe haven for water play, especially in the designated toddler area where little ones can splash around in low water.
It made me want to move there! And we were just at one spot of the 11 mile journey!! Loved it.people were way nicer than in my hometown.much love and respect for the area!!
Jeff J — Google review
Lovely place for recreation. Theres lots of birds here so its good for birdwatching or casual walking, not as good for mountain biking
Sam W — Google review
Such a beautiful park with tons of shaded areas and space for the family. During the summer they have lifeguards. There is a snack bar, restrooms for you to rinse off, a nice creek next to the pool and a toddler area (water is very low for kiddos to enjoy 🥰). Plenty of picnic tables and you have a park next to it plus plenty of hiking and paved trails
LV — Google review
It's a beautiful day today and as the sun is beginning it's slow descent the bright and warm colors of summer, the sound of the creek rushing by me...it just feels like home. I would not want to live anywhere else on Earth but Chico, right her and right now...

Sights & Landmarks
Bidwell Mansion | State Historic Park is a stunning estate located in an Italianate Victorian mansion that was previously owned by John and Annie Bidwell. The park encompasses both the beautiful mansion and its surrounding grounds which are perfect for wandering around. Although the house museum itself is closed most days, visitors can check the schedule before visiting to ensure it's open. This fun-filled park is adjacent to a school and touring the mansion with a guide provides immense interest due to its historical background.
Lots of great California history inside! Mr. Bidwell played a big part in building California and the city of Chico. The mansion is full of lots of fun artifacts, and is very well kept I highly suggest taking a tour.
Bartellj — Google review
It was a great tour. The tour guides were nice and answered all the questions anyone had. But you want to know why it's temporarily closed. Because some stupid peace of garbage burnt it to the ground. My grandma lives in Chico. I'm visiting her right now. When I drove past it, everything except the bricks was gone. ALL OF IT!!!!
TheHaltermanFamily4 — Google review
Beautiful plantation style mansion right next to California State University Chico! Three guided tours a day, $6.00 per person! Due to a other commitment that we did not have the opportunity to visit, but hopefully there will be other opportunities to visit again!
Steven C — Google review
I loved going to this mansion as a child. Though very saddened that it burned, it was very interesting to see it as it is now. More history lost.
Peter W — Google review
Much better than I expected. Also, make sure you make reservations in advance! They were booked up when we went, but Murphy was kind enough to squeeze us in anyway. Murphy was fantastic! So much knowledge, and personal experience growing up here and watching the renovations progress. I can't think of anywhere else that you can get that much for $6!
David M — Google review
Such a cool historic house! Tour guide was knowledgable and very friendly! My favorite part had to be the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. They all have tiny sinks! Beautiful & educational way to spend a saturday in Chico!
Ashley O — Google review
Beautiful mansion and park! I'm sure touring the house with a guide must be very interesting, it was closed at the time of our visit on a Sunday afternoon. We very much enjoyed wandering around the grounds.

Very knowledgeable tour guide. We did the basic 45 minute free tour, which ends with four different samples of their delicious beer. I will definitely go back and take one of the longer tours. Place has an amazing history. Highly recommended.

I meet with customers here a few times a year. The food is great! The staff always seem so happy and helpful. But you know, beer is involved, so I guess I would be happy all the time too! 😉

Best place for drink and lunch .
Nishi V — Google review
We had a blast doing the Still the One tour. The group was relatively smaller and led by a knowledgeable tour guide. We received a few beers on the tour, got an inside look at the rest of the brewery, and learned a lot! Our favorite part was drinking straight out of the tap with fresh beer only brewed about 3 days ago. We’ve done the local tour here but this is definitely worth the $25 walking away with a crowler, goodie bag, and a ride on the Time Machine!
Emily E — Google review
I had a delicious lunch at their restaurant then took the brewery tour. We had Emily guide us through the brewery which started with a beer sample and she was very knowledgeable. The 45 min tour ends with beer also. I highly recommend this tour and lunch. 5 stars

It took me about 2 hours to do the 6 mile drive through because I love to stop and soak in , view all the flora and fauna. There was a big jack rabbit hopping around, hawks, ducks and geese. If you want to do the 2 mile walking trails bring mosquito repellent and or mosquito face nets as the trail is next to water. A beautiful place to enjoy, I bought an annual pass so I can see different seasonal views.
Kristy K — Google review
This place is great! Not too far from the city of Sacramento by car. A great place for bird watching and photography. Some small hiking paths and a visitor's center. It's $6 for the auto tour only but you can get an annual pass for $12. A worthwhile service of the federal government and a place worth protecting.
Ann S — Google review
A fabulous bird refuge. It was high wind today so most of the birds were grounded, but we saw a large number of a big variety of ducks, geese and other waterfowl. I plan to come back in the fall migration season. The car loop is fabulous with great views and places to stop and stretch. Beautiful! Next time I'll comb the observation tower.

We took a day trip to the Colusa area to see the migrating waterfowl and birds of all kinds. Birds as far as your eyes can see in some places. There’s 5 preserves in the area. Most you can hike and/or drive through. Nice areas to view the wildlife. Beautiful!

Great place to do some birding. We took the auto tour and saw pelicans, grebes, stilts, Geese, shoveles, pheasants, jack rabbits, deer, kestrals, harriers, cormarants, warblers, and much more!

Beautiful area to visit in the winter. Home to a wide variety of migratory birds and other wildlife. We were lucky to see river otters and a badger. We also got to see a bald eagle which was pretty amazing. The auto tour is the highlight. The visitor center was closed and being repaired. The trail close to the visitor center was a nice walk but we did not see many birds or other wildlife on the walk.

Fabulous 6 mile auto tour right off highway 5. I understand there’s even more birds if you go in the fall, I went for the wildflowers and was not disappointed.

We love coming here and doing the car loop. Great place to view multiple different species of birds. Plenty of clean bathrooms and places to stretch your legs. New visitor center. Bought the annual pass.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
A 9,200-acre expanse of protected wetlands offering trails, bird-watching, fishing & hunting.
We went at the end of January to try to see the birds. We walked the Wet land Discovery Trail. It was a nice short walk with lots of info in the booklet at the beginning of the trail. At the viewing platform I saw a Bald Eagle thru the free telescope! It was an Amazing site. We will definitely be heading back again for the longer trail when it's less windy. Last picture is a picture of the Eagle thru the telescope

It is a must-see place! There are a lot of places in the area for a walk, but there are also a lot of area along the roads when you can just drive along and enjoy the beautiful views. Yes, it is an area to watch birds, and they are definitely the protagonists in the story. However, the place has wonderful views by itself, too.
Aleksei K — Google review
Great place to visit, see wild life and a take a bit of a hike. The Department of Fish and Game does require a land pass. I don’t mind support the wildlife area but the pass idea is a bit of a pain. Portable toilets. Bring water.
Steven H — Google review
Very cool place to hike, view wildlife, picnic, fish, or just hangout at. Winter months are great for viewing migratory birds at the excellent viewing decks. You can also do the drive able loop.
Marcos A — Google review
Live this place and hope this area remains protected, it MUST BE PROTECTED, or the results will be devastating to so much wild life as well as migratory patterns of birds that are already in danger. I have an app on my phone that ID's birds by the calls the make and it is great to use out at Grey Lodge, in two days I identified over twenty species of birds. Love that they allow dogs on leash, the area is so peaceful and quiet I envy any employees that reside out there. I plan on getting an annual land pass but you can get daily pass easily online and print it up at a cost of $5.60 cents. There is no where else you can enjoy an outing for that price period.

We visit Gray Lodge at least once a year in November. We come primarily just to view the wildlife and walk the tails with our dogs. We always see cool animals; turtles, owls, eagles, raccoons, river otters, and of course, thousands of water fowl.

Beautiful, serene, expansive area. Great 2-mile hiking trail, but not much shade so wouldn’t be very pleasant on a hot day. Nice 3-mile auto loop too. All accessible from Parking Lot 14. Picnic tables are in a nice location but dirty so bring a towel to sit on. And be sure to buy your Land Use Pass online ahead of time.

I cannot say enough about driving through Gray Lodge. We did the drive through tour and drove about 5mph. We stopped many times for great bird viewing and everyone seemed patient and cool. The birds were fantastic. Turtles sun bathing, Cotton tail rabbits darting around and pelicans even!! Best $5.00 ever spent. You can't help but feel like a National Geographic photographer out there with your cell phone camera even. Trails for walking, a room to watch birds while out of the weather. Great for anyone!!

Country-style rooms in a complex with a casino, spa & dining options, plus a fitness center.
We had an amazing time stopping at this location on our travel home. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. As far as hotel amenities there's really nothing to do but the casino. Hopefully they put a pool in someday. We had a good time at the casino and won a nice jackpot. Card rooms are closed after 10: 00 🤐 we also had the shrimp and steak only buffet. What an interesting concept. It was expensive, limited, although VERY limited.

Some posting online says it had some cash poker table. It does not have poker. Maybe at one time it did, but that is no longer the case. The food although limited it slightly above average. The site can be misleading saying it has "table games" they electric digital machines. The craps is a electric image of dice. The only thing that seemed remotely like a table game was the roulette as it does have a actual wheel and ball with a camera. The down side is the roulette numbers only pay around 25-26 to 1. I'm assuming because the game offer this special bonus multiplier that I never seen hit. With all that be said I'm not a slot player but will play if that's that the only option. In my experience here at this casino that slots have a better than average pay back then I have experience at other casinos. If I'm in the area I would stop here again.

We stayed last weekend for a visit to celebrate an early birthday, my spouse and I. We were able to get a room reservation and park our big rig truck and trailer safely overnight, in the oversize parking lot. We enjoyed the room in the lodge, it was very clean, quite, and so comfortable with ice cold air conditioning, and a large fantastic, and well appointed bathroom with a bathtub, with plenty of large fluffy bath towels! We ate twice at Jack's, the bourbon jam bacon hamburgers were so delicious, with both regular and sweet potato fries. The Cafe was also perfect for early morning espressos! We had fun gaming for hours and saw lots of guests winning all around us, and we shared in the excitement. It was also cool to be entered in the Sat Sept drawings with our players card, although we didn't win them. Kudos to host Kimberly! She met with us multiple times to explain questions we had about accruing players club points and to check on us. We even received a follow up phone call today, amazing! She is absolutely wonderful, and showed that she cared about our experience and visit, even though we are neither vip nor high rollers. Anyone who has the pleasure of her help and expertise will definitely feel like a winner!! Thank you so much, Calusa Casino Resort!

I have never been here before and, in fact, did not intend to come here this weekend. I am so glad I did! It's not a big place, but it is friendly and clean. The slots were new and there was a good variety. I did not go away a winner but I also did not go away a loser. The food is good although the little cafe is a bit overpriced. $3.50 for a box of Milk Duds! I can't wait to get back there.
Diane H — Google review
I come here a lot because it's close, which is why it makes me sad to give it such a low rating. The waitresses, at least most of them will not even ask you if you want a drink or be polite to you unless they know you have money. I go there with my aunt all the time. And she's a high roller, because she's married to someone who owns a casino as well. They will fall all over her feet because she will tip them a $100 for a free soda, but they will look at me and only ask me if I want something if I'm with her, if I'm not with her, they will pass me up. So I tell her when I'm with her, "Don't tip anything for service for me. I'll get my own soda because they don't deserve a tip!" They know who they are that I'm speaking about. This place is also getting very expensive. You can't use your coupons for free food without paying more because they've raised the prices. It's terrible. Also, if you have free play, trust and believe you're not winning with your free play, they will suck all of that back and then some before you win a super small amount of money. A lot of the people that work on the floor are also rude. You don't even want to look at them because of the attitude you'll get back... rude. I have not given a review like this ever, or at least in a long time. I just can't get over how horrible this place has gotten.

We found Caego on VRBO on a Thursday, it showed that they had a room available Saturday through Monday. The calendar showed the room was available so we decided to book. A few hours later we didn't hear anything, we went to bed, woke up, still nothing. In the afternoon it had been over 12 hours and we hadn't heard anything so I decided to call Ceago directly, nobody answered and there was no voicemail. Then late Friday night, as we were packing for our trip they canceled our reservation out of the blue. They said it was already booked for this weekend and asked us to book another weekend. Incredibly unprofessional, I won't make this mistake twice.

Faith is the best! She has so much knowledge about the beautiful birds of Clear Lake. She knows just where to take passengers to show off the beauty and wonder of lake life. We have taken four tours, and no tour is ever the same! Her enthusiasm and love for the birds of Clear Lake makes each tour fun. She also has amazing photo albums on her boat to share and see grebes and other birds up close that way too! Do not miss a chance to go out on the lake on Faith's comfortable and spacious pontoon boat. I promise you won't regret it!
Laura H — Google review
A friend and I went out with Faith Rigosi to photograph Grebes. She has a flat bottom boat that was comfortable (cushion seats) with ample space to move around and stand or sit. We left the dock at first light and Faith got us on location quickly. She would see a pair about to dance on the water and position the boat to maximize quality photography. We captured tons of high quality images including babies in the backs of adults, parents feeding the babies, adults doing many kinds of grebe behaviors, many of which were done in unison and of course the dance on the water. What a delightful, productive outing. Faith shared her knowledge of grebe behaviors and was totally dedicated to getting us good shots. She is a 5 star plus.

Our family recently enjoyed a sunny outing with the capable hands of the pontoon boat captain Faith Rigosi. She brought with her 15 years of experience on the lake showing us the exciting secrets of the habitats of the amazing birds of Clear Lake. Close up views of Western Grebes - with their babies riding the backs of the females, treetop rookeries of Double-Crested Cormorants, Ospreys, Great Blue Herons and Bald Eagles - to mention just a few. Faith was very knowledgeable about all of the birds and where to find them. She is a great resource for photographers and the curious interested in these remarkable Clear Lake birds.

If you're visiting Clear Lake (or even if you live here like we do!) this boat tour is a MUST. It's educational, relaxing, serene and informative. Our Captain (and owner) Faith is a talented photographer and a very knowledgeable guide of the local Flora and Fauna. We saw so many beautiful birds!! At one point we cruised a quiet Emerald green canal that is reminiscent of Disneylands Jungle Cruise ride..I almost expected hippos to emerge from the water...just BEAUTIFUL...so much life going on in this diverse area. It's an affordable getaway for a few quiet hours out on the water. We can hardly wait to go back.

Honestly, one of the best boating and birding experiences ever! Faith was so kind and knowledgeable, responsive and communicative both before and during the trip. Her boat is clean and comfortable, and she guides with kindness, confidence and information the entire time. She knew just where to take us to see fantastic birds and we even caught the beginning of the grebe mating dance season. A trip we will never forget! So highly recommended. Thank you, Faith!

Booked a tour with Eyes of the Wild as a Father’s Day gift. What a treat! It was a gorgeous morning in the lake, we went to lots of sweet little coves and saw a variety of birds including grebes, herons, osprey, bald eagles, and more. Faith is a very nice and knowledgeable guide. Well worth the price. I’ll be going again when my mother comes to town to visit!
Luisa L — Google review
What a wonderful tour! So many birds, and Faith provided great details on everything we saw. Just a lovely morning on the water. Highly recommend.
Laurie D — Google review
My dad and I had two amazing trips with Faith to photograph the grebes doing their courtship displays! She knew exactly where to take us, exactly the right time of day for both the grebes and the weather conditions, and she knew *exactly* when the grebes were about to display, getting the boat in the exact right position for photos! Can't wait to go out with Faith again to see the grebes with their chicks! Highly, highly recommend! It may be more expensive than renting your own boat, but Faith's knowledge of the birds made it more than worth it, many times over!

I give the Vigilance Tasting Room 5 stars in a hope that Clay will not sell the property. We were very disappointed as club members to hear that they have decided to shutdown operations at this Tasting Room. We became members because we loved the wonderful view and friendly service at this location. The alternative The Mercantile is not a preferred location of ours. At The Mercantile, the staff is okay and the location is fine, but it lacks the ambiance that you will find at the Vigilance Tasting Room

Absolutely love this wine. I used to live in the house that is now The Tasting Room. Hard to see it being a Vineyard as opposed to an orchard that it was before. But having said all that I love this place the patrons are great the wine is good and it is a very very good time.

So, pull up a chair this one is worth the read: I travel to this area of northern California with my cousin every year to see our family. We've done it for years. I live in Denver, and "wine country" doesn't really exist where I live. Each year, we pick a little place to go taste wine, to support local business. We've always enjoyed ourselves. But, this year was a different story.... When we came into town, we just happened to buy a bottle of local wine at Safeway. Clever label...local.. Great taste. Check ✅ When we had a little time on our Sunday afternoon this year, we decided to find out more about this simple lil bottle we bought from Safeway..... Lower lake...super close: check Amazing website... Check. Mission/concept: Inspiring: Check. So we headed south. When we arrived to their beautiful facility, we were greeted by Marlyna. Little did we know, our lives would all be changed by our arrival. We had a tasting, the regular tasting flight. Each time this beautiful lady poured into our glass, we got the story about its concept. How it got there, and more importantly, what their intention is. All the while, watching the vineyard's sheep. Because you know, they plant a cover crop. Not sure what that means? Just look it up.... As the sun set, we decided... It was time to buy some wine and some merch. Our lovely host took Extra care of each group in her bar. When it was our turn, she topped off our tasting glasses with the particular wine we each loved ( mine was the best one, 😉) Needless to say, we felt so inspired to support not only this winery, but this company's mission: thinking outside the box. Seeing the whole picture and making a difference. We finished our taste, cashed out and headed for the door. With sincere gratitude, our lovely host hugged us like we were family, and off we went. We will be back. Next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. We talked all the way home about how grateful we were for our experience at vigilance winery. But also, how glad we are that this special company has this host to represent it. And our names rhyme... So there's that! Now that we are wine club members, we'll be back; you're stuck with us. Cheers.

I'd give Bobdog Wines 11 stars if I could. First, it's a gorgeous place... about 2000 feet above the floor of the Alexander Valley, the highest winery by elevation in Sonoma County. Second, Tim, the owner, carved out two hours for my wife and me during harvest/crush week, a generous accommodation beyond measure. He gave us the ultimate, consummate and fun lesson in tasting red wines. We will never, ever forget Tim or our experience at Bobdog Wines.

We didn't end up going to Bobdog winery as they were in their crushing phase of the season but he gave us a great recommendation to J Rickards which was an awesome experience for the afternoon! 10/10 on the recommendation!
Charles C — Google review
Had such a great time visiting BobDog Winery! Tim, the owner, makes sure each tour is personalized and sits with you to teach you about the wine making process. He also curates a very informative tasting that helps you analyze the wines and get in touch with all of your senses when tasting. This was a much more intimate and educational tasting than other wineries in the area will provide. Not to mention Tim was very kind and funny so we had a blast the whole time. The ride up to his place is a bit of a trek but the views are 100% worth it. 10/10 recommend booking a tour here if you’re looking for a unique Sonoma experience.
Claire H — Google review
Our visit to BobDog Winery with good friends was by far the best wine tasting experience we have ever had. The estate winemakers personally sit with you around a table and explain the nuances of their blends as well as the behind-the-scenes operations required to grow and produce the vintages. We literally felt like we were visiting family while there. You'll never experience a more pleasurable and intimate wine tasting.

All I can say is WOW!!!!! The drive up is a trip. Be prepared to rough it as parts of the road is not paved, steep and has some tight turns. The winery is worth it. Great view from the road. Saw some deer. We sat and talked wine and tasted for almost 2 hrs. Not fancy, very relaxed and low key. Tim showed us how to really taste the wine. We have lived in No. Calif. for 45 years, (yes we tasted all those years), and now there are about 400+ wineries within a 2 1/2 hr drive and this one is the top!!!! Both in quality and location at 2000 ft. We got tired of the Napa Valley and the attitude of many of the wineries there. We will be repeat visitors to Bob Dog and will be drinking some of the wine at home this weekend!!!!.

Been vacationing in Sonoma for a week. Visited several wineries. Bobdog was by far our favorite. Owns Tim and Candy are amazing. What a wonderful place. The wine is exceptional and the owners are funny and informative. And the views! It's the highest winery in the county and you can see over the Vineyard into the valley below with the Ridges on the other side. It reminds me of Italy. Outstanding. You cannot see this any where else. And they are dog friendly! I will definately return for more. Can't wait to see it in the spring. I bet it's beautiful.

Yocha Dehe Golf Club

Golf course

Golf driving range
Excellent course reasonably priced. Can get pretty hot so bring sunscreen. They provide complementary water and you (supposedly) call the drink cart while out on any hole. Service is fantastic. The restaurant was a bit slow before our tee time. But we got to go boxes and make it just fine. Great service, the Italian Beef sandwich was mediocre. But the golf course is worth a visit.
Michael R — Google review
I highly recommend Yocha Dehe as a must-golf course if you love within an hour or so. Very friendly staff, pretty decent food, and immaculate golf holes. Each hole is different from the last and there’s a wide variety of difficult shots to be had. The sand traps are perfectly groomed and the sand is very fluffy and soft. Fairways were in outstanding condition and the greens were soft, receptive, and fast. I played on a 100-degree day and the greens and fairways were still soft and damp at 5pm. You can get a great rate during less busy times and a nice discount if you have a Troon membership. I play Yocha Dehe a couple times a year and I’m always excited to get up to the first tee way up on the hill and watch my ball sail through the air, even if it’s out of bounds.

Adam V — Google review
Disappointing Experience That Falls Short of Resort Golf Standards Played on a busy Saturday afternoon with high expectations but left thoroughly disappointed, especially given the high green fees and reputation. The course itself was in great shape, which is the only positive. Unfortunately, the overall experience missed the mark in several key ways: No Food or Drink Service After 4:00 PM We were told at the turn that all concessions were closed. There was no prior notice, and this left us without any access to water, snacks, or restrooms during the back nine in 97-degree heat. On a fully booked Saturday, that is unacceptable. No Restroom Access With the clubhouse and services shut down by the time we finished, there were no available restrooms. That goes beyond inconvenience and becomes a comfort and health issue. Logistical Hassles I was required to park up the hill due to a full lot. After five hours in the heat, I had to hike back up with my gear, return the cart separately, and was told by a staff member that I could go to the casino to freshen up. That meant driving over, finding parking again, and hoping for access to a bathroom. Not what you expect from a so-called resort experience. I drove a long way and paid a premium to play here, but with this level of service and planning, I will not be returning.
Sam — Google review
very good golf course and the difficulty is as advertised. the course is in great shape and the tee boxes are well maintained. for as hard of a course this is, the one star reduction i gave is due to some of the greens having clumps of different types of grass that are growing at a different height. putting through this is very difficult. i would play here again.

Another amazing day at Yocha Dehe. One of my absolute favorites. Beautiful course, great condition, excellent facility, friendly staff, good food, highly accessible drink cart. If you live within 2+ hours from it, do yourself a favor, make the drive, and play Yocha. You and your buddies will love it!
Chuck F — Google review
This place would be a 5 star on course quality, but honestly, I doubt I will ever come back. I have played here two times and both times our group has been followed around and rushed/harassed by the marshall. There is nothing that can ruin the tranquility of a golf course like somebody bugging you, following you, and rushing you. When you pay $250 bucks for a round you expect to enjoy it and not rush your way through it. We weren’t particularly slow either round, and the crazy thing is, it wasn't backed up behind us, nobody was waiting on us, yet they were still harassing us. The cart told us we were 7 minutes behind pace, but with nobody behind us why should we rush. Not to mention we stopped twice to buy beverages from the cart girl. If I’m in a slow group and backing up the course, I would totally understand, but both times I played there, the group behind us never once waited for us yet we were still getting followed around as if we were children. Not a cool way to be treated when you pay that much and drive into the middle of nowhere to go golfing. Totally ruined the vibe of the golf outing.

Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery, nestled in Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley, is a charming family-owned winery offering a variety of delicious wines sourced from sustainable vineyards. From the renowned Fume Blanc to classic Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as red and Rosé wines crafted from Sangiovese grapes that pay homage to the family's Italian roots.
Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery Tucked away in the heart of Sonoma County, Ferrari-Carano might be one of the most underrated wine tasting destinations we’ve ever visited. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were in awe. The grounds are stunning—meticulously designed and beautifully maintained, with views that rival any estate in Napa or Sonoma. Every corner felt like a perfect photo moment, but more importantly, it felt like a peaceful retreat. The staff was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about their wines. We were welcomed with genuine hospitality and guided through our tasting with insight that made every pour more meaningful. It didn’t feel rushed or scripted—it felt like they truly loved what they do and where they do it. And the wines? Fantastic. Balanced, elegant, and memorable. From bold reds to crisp whites, everything we tried was impressive—and we’ve done our fair share of tastings across California. If you’re looking for a refined yet relaxed experience, make the time to visit Ferrari-Carano. It’s a hidden gem that deserves far more attention than it gets. We’ll definitely be returning—and bringing friends with us next time.

O my gosh I have to brag on our server/ wine tour guide Danny. My sisters, mom and I came in for a girls trip and decided to make the drive out to Sonoma for a wine tour. Amazing service and experience. Danny was attentive, very informative and super sweet. He has great customer service, great recommendations and just went above and beyond for our day. The wines, cheese board and chocolates were so delicious. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

This winery is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The grounds are spectacular. Excellent wine and service. Came here in May 2025 for a visit and loved it so much we came again the following day.

Such a beautiful place. The wine is outstanding, and the grounds are lovely. I was most impressed with Kristine, the manager. Wow, she went out of her way to make our visit memorable. We will be back for sure!!

We came to Ferrari Carano for our Girls Trip! Danny our server/tour guide was absolutely phenomenal. He allowed us to enjoy ourselves and be a little chatty with him as we were so excited. He was so detailed in his explanation of the wines we were tasting. He made recommendations and really made the experience next level. Really enjoyed everything about our visit visit. Would come back for sure for the great wine, views and Danny’s great service !!!

I have visited Ferrari-Carano multiple times but today we had Victor serve us and had such a lovely experience. Good wine and lots of shared knowledge about the local wine. We asked about memberships and decided the value was beyond compare. A beautiful setting awaits guests at this winery with excellent customer service. Don’t miss out on the shady garden as well.

Visited Ferrari-Carano for the first time with friends - I've been wanting to make it out to Healdsburg for ages and this was the perfect excuse. We booked the Pranzo Della Casa and it was such a refreshing change from a typical tasting with little (or no) food. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and the wine pairings were excellent - I would definitely want to return for this experience alone! The property itself is gorgeous and well-maintained. We weren't able to explore the grounds fully due to a private event taking place that day, but even just the building and front gardens were picture-perfect. The staff were also very accommodating with a few last-minute, unplanned requests, which we really appreciated and will definitely remember when planning a return trip. Highly recommend if you're looking for something a step above the standard tasting - a beautiful setting, gracious staff, and a memorable food-and-wine experience.

This was a great way to end our trip, our favorite wines and best spot we visited. Maureen was excellent to us, knowledgeable, friendly, with a great attitude. She guided us through our wine tasting and finished it off with a tour of the property. The grounds were so beautiful, and all the staff were very nice. So many new things coming to this spot, and we are eager to see what’s in store!

Nestled in the picturesque Alexander Valley, Francis Ford Coppola Winery is a stunning Second French Empire-style chateau that exudes elegance and charm. The winery, owned by the renowned director Francis Ford Coppola, boasts a unique blend of movie relics and fine wines. Visitors can explore an impressive collection of memorabilia from iconic films like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, including Vito Corleone's desk and props from other significant works.
The team took really great care of me and my mom. The private tour was a lot of fun and educational, we also did the wine tasting with incredible cheese pairing and we wrapped up with a delicious dinner in their patio while watching the sunset. Just pure bliss and a vibe that makes you want to stay forever!!🍷🍷

What a winery! First, we were late to our wine tasting but called in advance to let them know and they were able to accommodate us moving our slot. The wine tasting with the food pairing was amazing. One of our clients join the wine club! Great wine, great staff, and great environment! Would come again.

The only complaint was we should have booked an entire day here! Mr. Coppola's vision of a destination for the entire family has been accomplished. We took the tour of the winery and memorabilia from his movies. Beautiful vistas, buildings, and grounds. Interesting facts and pieces of several outstanding movies. We finished with a wine tasting and bocce. Next time we will rent a cabana, which comes with a lockable changing room, with shower, to enjoy the great looking outdoor pool.

We enjoyed our tour and tasting at Coppola so much! We learned a lot of interesting facts about the vineyard and Coppola’s directing history. Definitely a great spot that I would recommend adding to your stay in Napa/Alexander valley!

Great experience. We booked a short guided tour and then a wine "sip and dip." Plan on several hours to take it all in, including movie memorabilia.

Have been here twice now, once for a birthday and today for my anniversary that also turned into my engagement date! We had the same server both times, and he was amazing both times! The views are gorgeous, the service is amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect! Portions are big in my opinion. Payed $100 for both including 3 dishes, 1 special drink, and a soda. I don’t think thats bad at all considering the flavor is consistent each time! The pizza and cesar salads are top tier!

Great grounds and winery tour. Like the Disney of wine country. Love all the FFC memorabilia. Wish they had better wine flights the day we visited. There are better wines to be had in the area, but this is a memorable visit.

Dry Creek Vineyard is an estate grower that uses sustainable and low-impact practices to bring out the unique characteristics of each small lot in their bottles. Visitors have praised the helpful staff, particularly Ian, who provided just the right amount of information without pressuring them into wine clubs. The indoor and outdoor setup at Dry Creek is highly recommended for those in the area. Guests can enjoy a beautiful setting with excellent wine selection poured by knowledgeable staff.
First visit to California ever, and I think I did it just right by starting it out at wine country! The grounds are absolutely breathtaking and makes you feel like you are in a secret garden from a storybook. Paige was our hostess, and our group has a great time with her. She was very knowledgeable, personable, and just really gave us the time to relax and enjoy our wine tasting without feeling rushed. I liked that it was a little bit more secluded, had a relaxed vibe and it wasn’t too fussy. A huge perk was that you were also able to bring your own picnic lunch. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

I took my boyfriend here for a Californian wine tasting experience and it was so perfect. The vineyards are beautiful and expansive and free to roam through but the service is also just as special. We were hosted by Darren who was extremely knowledgeable about the tasting notes of every wine and the individual process it takes to make each bottle. Darren offered us samples of lots of wines too and we even got a special wine cellar tour that we weren’t expecting. He then introduced us to the family owner of the Dry Creek Vineyard itself (like meeting royalty!). He really made our visit so memorable. If you’re planning a wine tour whilst in the area, this historic site is an essential first stop!

First time visit via scheduled tasting that will be the first of many visits. Josh provided the tasting of many varietals and allowed those in our group to let the wines speak for themselves. In a no-pressure environment, we learned some history about the vineyard and the various factors affecting each the wines they offer. The facility is modern and comfortable and has many gifts for sale. The grounds are perfect for a simple day out (you can bring in your own food, in addition to the standard fare available on site) where you can enjoy a bottle or tastings. If you're looking for a vineyard that's easy to enjoy, with a fine selection of wines, all set in a clean, simple, yet enjoyable environment, Dry Creek should be on the list....

Very knowledgeable about all the wines. Impeccable grounds and a lovely day. Couldn't have been better. I am so happy I made the trip. It was beyond expectations. The weather was a 10. No doubts about becoming a member and look forward to enjoying the best wine from my all time favorite winery. Thank you for one of my best memories ever!

Chateau Montelena Winery, established in 1882, is housed in a picturesque castle surrounded by manicured gardens. Visitors can enjoy daily tastings and weekday tours of the estate. The winery gained international recognition after its 1973 Chardonnay was declared the best in the 'Judgment of Paris' competition, elevating Napa Valley's status as a prominent wine region.

Wonderful tasting as well as host. We stayed for at least two hours and it was totally wonderful. We are european and used to great french and italian wines but this beat our expectactions.

We stopped by Chateau Montelena just to take photos since we didn’t have a tasting reservation. The property is absolutely beautiful — the castle-like building and the peaceful lake surrounded by trees make it feel like stepping into a fairytale. Even without tasting, it was worth the visit for the scenery alone. We’ll definitely come back next time with a reservation to experience their wine tasting!
Thuy T — Google review
Historic, Serene, and Unforgettable Chateau Montelena is everything you hope a Napa Valley winery will be—elegant, peaceful, and rich with history. The grounds are absolutely stunning, with a storybook stone chateau and a serene lake surrounded by lush greenery. It's the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and take it all in. The wine lives up to the legacy. Their Chardonnay, which famously beat the French in the 1976 Judgment of Paris, is still a standout—balanced, crisp, and beautifully structured. The Cabernet Sauvignon and other reds were equally impressive, showcasing depth, restraint, and finesse. The tasting experience is thoughtful and unpretentious, guided by knowledgeable staff who clearly love what they do. Whether you're a longtime wine lover or just beginning your journey, Chateau Montelena offers something truly special: world-class wine in a setting that feels timeless.

We took the tour with our tasting and had such a wonderful time! Their property was gorgeous and had a great family history. Wines were great. Keeley was our host and her warm, welcoming personality took our experience to the next level. Definitely worth a stop!
Jamie B — Google review
We visited as a group of 15, and unfortunately this was the least enjoyable tasting we’ve done so far. The property and history are impressive, but the actual experience felt disconnected from what makes great hospitality. We stood for nearly two hours while our host gave what felt like a scripted monologue focused heavily on himself and the legacy of the owners. The tone often came across as condescending rather than welcoming, and there was very little conversation about the wine itself. When we moved to the kitchen for a food pairing, the setup felt overlooked. The cheese board was placed in a way that most of the group couldn’t reach, and there were bats and bugs on the food prep area. It didn’t reflect the level of care or quality we expect at this price point. This ended up being the only winery of the weekend where not a single person in our group purchased a bottle. We really wanted to enjoy it, but the presentation and hospitality made it difficult to connect with the wines.
Santa K — Google review
The estate tour was wonderful! Keeley was very kind and we learned a lot from her about the history and the wine! The wines were delicious and we love how personalized this tour was. The Riesling and Zinfandel really stood out to us!
Tara Z — Google review
The property was beautiful, the wine was amazing, but Christian truly made the entire experience a 10/10! He was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and the processes involved in crafting different varieties. I had so many questions, all of which he answered in depth, providing examples that helped me better understand the complexities of it all. We visited during the winter, so it was quite cold. Because of the cold, we were able to enjoy a very intimate wine tasting with just my family and me. I never felt rushed or like my many questions were a bother! I would definitely book again with excitement to learn more from a host like him!

Old Faithful Geyser of California

Bocce ball court
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of California, the Old Faithful Geyser is a must-visit natural wonder that enchants visitors with its reliable eruptions. Just a short drive from downtown Calistoga, this scenic geyser bursts forth plumes of water and steam reaching heights of up to 80 feet multiple times daily, creating stunning rainbows when conditions are right. The site features charming picnic areas surrounded by serene gardens and offers an array of local goods at its gift shop.
This is the 3rd largest Geyser in the world and originally owned by a badass Woman Olga Kolbek, who observed the Geysers activity in relationship to seismic activities. The Geyser is active every 40 minutes, I'd recommend staying for at least 2 showings. It's a beautiful space, with chairs and benches to enjoy a snack and a beverage. There's a little museum with history on the earth and of Olga and her amazing life. There's also some sweet goats, llamas and horses to visit. Got there around 10am and stayed about 2 hours.
Alexa S — Google review
If you are looking for a place to relax with friends or just want to see something new, stop at this scenic site. Old faithful geyser is a hot spring that will burst out water like a fountain. It’s only for a few minutes, but it is beautiful to see. There are other activities on site including a geology museum, a petting zoo, and a bocce ball court. There is also a gift shop as well. Although it was not expensive, there are tickets on Groupon. It is children wheelchair friendly. Bring a picnic and sit down while you wait for the next eruption (around every 45 min). Enjoy 💕💕
Tayna L — Google review
A fun space to check out. Plan on bringing a picnic to get the most of the experience. Geyser went off ever 35-40 minutes. Kids really liked the llamas and goats. Games include boce ball and corn hole.

This was a great experience for your entire family! We arrived just as it began to erupt and the ushered us in immediately to see the attraction! Wow!!! What a sight to see!! we took pictures and as it began to fade, we went back and paid our admission fee, but walked back out to wait approximately 35 minutes for the next eruption that we were able to watch from start to finish, and it was truly spectacular! Granted, we were there on a rainy day, but the experience was very worthwhile! We have attached some pictures for you to enjoy 😎💯👍🏽
Steve B — Google review
This was a lovely experience. It takes about 30-40 minutes between each. While you wait you can visit the pony’s and feed the goats. There’s also a tiny museum where you can spend time in. Free coffee was nice to have because we visited after a heavy lunch 😅

A fun stop to see a predictable "faithful"geyser within wine country. We went 5.21.25 and it was scheduled every 40 minutes or so. A lot of seating available while you wait. You can purchase food to feed the goats and llamas on site. I think it is worth a stop.

The historical winery features modern stucco architecture and two towers adorned with salvaged bells from St. Dunstans Church in East London, which chime every fifteen minutes. Visitors can choose from three tasting experiences, including self-guided tours, limited release wine tastings with artisan cheese and charcuterie, and educational food and wine pairings.
I had an amazing experience touring this winery. Each tasting was excellent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The views from the winery were stunning, and the Gondola Ride to the reserve was perfect. We were able to join and become members, so now we can continue to enjoy their excellent selections! It was a memorable visit and definitely a highlight of our time in the vineyards.

Had an amazing time at this vineyard. It is a fantastic location with amazing views. The wine tasting we did was self guided and I loved seeing the process at my own pace. The views of the rest of the valley are stunning as you take a gondola up to their building. Their were five different wine tastings and I loved each one. If I lived in a state that would allow wine to be shipped to me, I would have signed up for Sterling. Definitely worth the visit!

We had an amazing time at Sterling Vineyards. The Gondola takes you to the winery. The property is amazing. Marcus was our professional wine person. Walking us thru the regions via the map and educating us about climate, wine skins, the weather, how grapes are picked and processed. All in all a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived and met Cathy, including all encounters with their team!

Everybody loves this spectacular structure on a hilltop. The gondola ride up to the winery is a fun ride. Views from nearly everywhere at the sprawling facility are breaktaking. Multiple tours and tasting experiences are available, with basic self-guided tour at $55.

Absolutely loved this vineyard! The gondola ride up to the vineyard was so incredibly cool and unique! We did not have a reservation, but it was a Wednesday, so we purchased tickets at the gate and made our way over to the gondola. The views are stunning along the quick 5–7-minute gondola ride. Once you get to the top, they give you 5 wine tastings, along 5 different stops, and if you join their wine club, they will reimburse your tasting fees. The wines were very good, and we loved the gift shop at the end. My gf ended up joining the wine club. They have a beautiful rooftop deck where you can hang and enjoy the views too.

I am so happy and thankful for such a wonderful experience, we celebrated my friend’s bachelorette yesterday, up in the Hilltop experience and Maurice was the cherry on top in our visit. Maurice gave us a detailed explanation of the region and wines but also tips on what dish would be the best fit with each wine we tried. Thank you Maurice we had a lovely time. I recommend the Hilltop experience to anyone reading this because you get to be inside with ac and enjoy a walk through the property. The last thing was the cleanliness of the entire property, it’s beautiful and clean. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Nestled on 171 acres near one of California's oldest vineyards, Castello di Amorosa is a remarkable 13th-century-style Tuscan castle in Napa Valley. The castle, built by fourth-generation winemaker Dario Sattui, boasts over 100 rooms and features authentic medieval architecture with a moat, drawbridge, torture chamber, and defensive towers.
What an incredible experience at Castello di Amorosa! 🏰🍷 From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like royalty. The castle itself is breathtaking — every hallway, courtyard, and tower feels like stepping into a piece of Tuscany right here in Napa Valley. Our wine tasting was the highlight — beautifully guided, perfectly paced, and full of fascinating stories about the winemaking process. Each wine was unique and delicious, and our host did an amazing job helping us discover new favorites. The tour of the castle added so much to the experience — the architecture, the underground cellars, the medieval-style great hall, even the dungeon — all meticulously detailed and authentic. We ended the visit with a few bottles to take home and some stunning photos from the terrace overlooking the vineyards. 🌿🍇 If you’re visiting Napa, Castello di Amorosa is an absolute must — a perfect blend of history, beauty, and exceptional wine. My husband loves their red wines while I love their sweet wines 😍 We bought 23 cases of wines for our wedding ❤️ the best place to taste wine ever🍷✨ Our favorite wines: La Fantasia, Il Passito, Il Barone, Vermentino,

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this winery! My husband and I joined the tour on October 16, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Gonzalo was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He shared so many great wine recommendations and stories that made the whole experience both educational and fun. We loved every tasting and ended up buying bunch of wines and joining the wine club because the wines were just that good! Thank you for creating such wonderful memories for us — we can’t wait to come back again someday. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

A fairytale winery come to life! Touring Castello di Amorosa was like stepping into another world — part medieval castle. The attention to detail in the architecture is breathtaking — from the stone towers and grand halls to the underground cellars that make you feel like you’re in Tuscany. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the winemaking process. The wines were exceptional — especially the reds and the late harvest wines — and the tasting experience felt both intimate and luxurious. You can tell every bottle is crafted with care and pride. Whether you’re a wine lover or just looking for an unforgettable experience, Castello di Amorosa is an absolute must-see. 🍷🏰

Castello di Amorosa is fun, unique, and full of interesting history — just be prepared for crowds. Our tour was excellent and our guide, Cynthia (Cindy), was the absolute best! She’s worked there forever, had tons of great information, and her humor made the whole experience even better. The tasting was delicious, and we loved getting to walk around the castle afterward to explore and take photos. It’s a beautiful property. One tip: have your reservation confirmation pulled up on your phone when you arrive at the gate. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and definitely worth a visit!
Kelsey K — Google review
Castello di Amorosa winery is located in this beautiful castle that is supposedly, according to some ratings and a poster on the entrance, one of the top 10 castles in the world. It is a small castle but adds to the experience of wine tasting. The staff is mostly Italian. Our host, Julio, did a great job at explaining the wines and making suggestions. We liked their red blend and their cabs. Good experience.
Susan M — Google review
Everyone told us to visit, though we were not anticipating being impressed with a "castle" built a few years ago. We had visited the sister winery, V. Sattui, which was amazing, and hoped for the best. "Everyone" was right! We were impressed with the beauty and architectural integrity of the structure and then wowed by the wine! Truly remarkable tasting of 5 wines and difficult to say what was our favorite!
Quita S — Google review
The castle is absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos — such a unique setting! The variety of wines at the tasting was pretty good, and overall the wine was enjoyable, though there’s plenty of great wine to be found throughout the area. What I didn’t love was the tour — it felt rushed and not very engaging compared to others I’ve done. Since the castle was actually built in the early 2000s, it lacks real historical background, and the experience felt more focused on selling wine and memberships than on sharing any authentic wine history.
Gunila M — Google review
Wow, love this castle. Makes me I'm in England, Germany, or Italy. The grape juice the red and white one was so perfectly fruity and sweet and yummy. The tour is so much fun to explore with the family and friends. The scenic view is awesome especially the flowers and the grape vineyards. I would love to come back again.

Safari West is a remarkable destination in wine country, offering an extraordinary experience for those seeking a break from traditional wine tasting. Established by animal care experts and conservationists, Peter and Nancy Lang, this 400-acre African game animal preserve provides an unparalleled opportunity to encounter a diverse array of animals from Africa. From rhinos to giraffes, zebras to cheetahs, the preserve houses nearly 1,000 exotic animals.
We held our annual team outing at Safari West and it was so much fun! We had 3 private tour jeeps to accommodate our large party. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable about the park and all of the wildlife occupying the park. It was very clear to see and hear the passion they have for the animals, the care that they provide, and the team that they work with. After our tour, we immediately had lunch that was set up for us in the dining area. The food was very delicious and offered a variety of options. Thank you, Safari West for such an incredible time!

Our family stayed over night. Had dinner that evening & took the safari tour the next day. Dinner was excellent, the property was immaculate, and we loved the tour. Our tour guide, Cindy, was knowledgeable & worked hard to make sure we were able to see all the animals. The animals appeared to be well cared for. Our 4- year-old granddaughter had a blast walking through the property & visiting all the animals. A special thanks to the staff for holding onto a piece of luggage that the airline lost & then delivered after we departed.

We did the overnight glamping experience for a birthday/retirement party. The beef Brisket buffet dinner was excellent. We'll seasoned melt in your mouth Brisket and chicken buffet had vegan options. Chocolate desserts and camp fire smores. The tents were surprisingly cozy. Electric blankets are provided alone with portable space heaters. Nice hot showers attached to the tent. The only drawback is the bathrooms aren't heated. But sre well designed with natural wood & stone. Breakfast in the morning before our afternoon tour with educated guides in 4WD trucks. With everything from ring tailed lemurs, zebras,Watusi cattle, Rhinos and water buffaloes. This was my 3rd visit, but first overnight. I recommend the overnight experience.

Absolutely loved the wildlife safari in the midst of wine country. Justin was our guide and he was super cool and super good. Loved the way he interacted with all the guests in his safari vehicle. He's a gem. The wild animals are kept in enclosures, some closed enclosures like the cheetahs, the rhino, the giraffes...and some in open spaces like the zebras, the antelopes...The avian enclosure is also very good. Of the animals the cheetahs I felt were the star attraction. The way Justin explains the behaviour, the nature, the habits of the different animals and birds is just awesome. And his one liner jokes and the quiz questions for the guests while on his truck is too good. The snacks store is also well stocked up, the hot chocolate is the one to go all out for. The souvenir store is cool. Sure to do an overnight stay over at the place next time.

We didn't stay in the cabins (they look nice), but everything else was chef's kiss. The guides and staff were cool, the food and vibes were good and the animals looked healthy and well cared for. The onsite cafe served super tasty meals. You cannot get bored at Safari West, or go hungry. The experience is way different from that of a zoo, with the animals wandering freely around the property and in select fenced areas. The three hour safari ride around the property was fun and interesting, offering close up views of a number of animal I've only seen in books, on TV, or on YouTube. Treat yourself, your family and friends. Book a trip to Safari West.

We went for my birthday. We did the 2 pm reservation and 7pm dinner. Gina was our Tour Guide and she was amazing. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and took my parties jokes well. We stayed the night in Tent 22 which was AWESOME! I loved that you could hear the wild life during the night. If you’re used to having a TV to watch you will not get that here. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and all you can eat. They do make S’more and show a movie in the evening which is a nice treat. You can also go on night time exploring if you wish.

Pride Mountain Vineyards, situated on the border of Napa and Sonoma Counties in Santa Rosa, California, offers a unique wine-tasting experience. The family-owned winery is set on a 235-acre estate that seamlessly blends with the rugged mountainous landscape. Visitors can explore the 23,000-square-foot cave system where the wines are barrel-aged at an ideal temperature for big red wines. The tour includes barrel tasting and culminates in breathtaking vineyard views.
If I could give Pride Mountain Vineyards six stars, I would—one for each glass of wine I “revisited” (purely for research purposes, of course). Our host was absolutely fantastic—part wine expert, part comedian, and 100% responsible for making me consider quitting my job to become a professional wine taster. The wines? Chef’s kiss. Every sip was so good I briefly contemplated moving into the wine cave and living there forever. The cave tour was both educational and an excellent opportunity to pretend I was in a secret underground lair plotting my next tasting. If you love great wine, stunning views, and a little bit of liquid happiness, this is the place to be!

Fantastic wine and beautiful scenic location. It is definitely worth the drive up the mountain. Allison gave us a great tour and tasting. The discussion was very interesting and engaging. Well worth your time. And the wines were outstanding, every single one we tried. There's a reason why they sellout!!

The estate sits high atop the Mayacamas Mountains, straddling both Napa and Sonoma counties, with sweeping views and vines stretching across the ridge line. My host, Jay, poured us a delicious Chablis style Chardonnay and walked us through the estate’s rich history, the challenges of mountain farming, and how the winery has evolved since its founding in the early ‘90s. We explored the caves (which were both literally and metaphorically cool), winding through their impressive underground system carved into the mountain at the top of the mountain. We tasted the Cabernet Franc from the barrel and Syrah co-fermented with Viognier in the caves before heading to our outside table for the tasting. During my tasting, I sampled a lineup of beautifully made wines: 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 Claret Reserve (Bordeaux Style blend) 2021 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Jay was absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about the wines and the land. This is winery is worth the journey up the hill for the wine, the views, and the experience.

Incredible first stop on our Napa anniversary getaway. Get ready for a fun and beautiful drive up the mountain to one of the most picturesque wineries! Quique, our host, made the experience a ton of fun. He was hilarious, knowledgeable and got our group engaged in the experience. After a cave tour with some wonderful tasting, we ended on the picture perfect patio to try of what ended up being some of favorites in Napa.

Our tasting at Pride Mountain on November 1st was absolutely superb. The wines were outstanding, rich, balanced, and full of character. The experience itself was top-notch. The gentleman leading our tour (I wish I remembered his name) was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely friendly. The setting was beautiful, the atmosphere relaxed, and everything felt perfectly paced. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Napa or Sonoma.

Incredible in every way! Fantastic wine and breathtaking scenic location worth the drive up. Jay gave us a great tour that was fun and we learned a lot! The wines were outstanding, every single one we tried. The Syrah wow wow 😍

There’s a reason Pride has almost a perfect 5 star review. Excellent wine and a gorgeous winery with cave tour. The views of the vineyards are spectacular. Let’s start with the 15 min drive up the hill, which gains about 2000 ft in elevation. Lots of turns so those who struggle with car sickness should take note. You’ll pass gorgeous vineyards as you meander through a thick canopy of forest. The tasting room and facilities are beautiful. Lots of photo opportunities throughout the grounds. Nicole was our guide and she was a joy. The tour of the cave was my favorite. You can smell the oak and wine as they are aging hundreds of barrels. There were at least 3 tastings inside the cave and we also got to experience blending some cab with our merlot. They happened to be pouring a 2005 Merlot and allowing a purchase allocation of one bottle. We did not hesitate and promptly purchased one. Don’t miss this experience. You will not be disappointed.

Starting with Allen, everyone we met was really great. You can't beat the view. And the sophistication of this tasting is very appreciated. Most organized tasting we had all week. Highly recommend this. And it's even better with a driver so you don't have to remember how you got there!

A friend recommended Gary Farrell winery, and I’m so glad he did! From the moment my friend and I walked into the winery, we were made to feel that this was going to be a special experience. In fact, we visited three other wineries and this was our best tasting experience! We had a reservation for the tour & tasting and Ellen was our very personable host. She did a fantastic job of explaining the winery’s history, why Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grow so well there, and their wine making process. It was clear that Ellen loves her job and was proud to be working at Gary Farrell! Also, the tasting set-up was beautifully done and the food pairings were perfect. Lastly, the property is gorgeous without being ostentatious. I live locally and will definitely be returning!

Wine is high quality and the servers in the tasting area were very helpful and accomodating to our walk in request and desire to purchase some wine. The receptionist was the opposite-- unhelpful, unaccomodating, claimed there was no way to buy the wine there when we asked if they had a shop or somewhere to buy the wine (which proved to be untrue). Maybe she was having a bad day and I don't want to pan the whole experience because of one negative person but she needs to know her attitude is important for first impressions. If one in our party hasn't been so intent on getting wine, we were ready to leave without spending anything. Reception 0 stars, otherwise 4 to 5 stars. Worth the visit just to see the view.

So unfortunately we couldn’t go, they were booked. However, they were the NICEST people, gave us some great recommendations. We got a tiny pour of something very good while they made some reservations for us. They have a beautiful view and we’d love to try them next time we’re up that way. I just wanted to take a moment to express our group’s appreciation for their excellent care of not-quite-customers.

We came to Gary Farrell mainly because they had Tesla chargers on-site but also wanted to enjoy some wine. I’m so glad we visited because this was an unforgettable experience. The view, the wine tasting, food pairings, just all of it was perfect. If I lived nearby, I would definitely put this place in my rotation. And definitely can’t forget the most handsome, charming, and chonky black cat, Bennie. Will be back next time I’m in the area!

Korbel Winery, located in Guerneville along scenic River Road, is a 19th-century winery known for its rich history and champagne cellars. This iconic California sparkling wine producer has been crafting bubbles since 1882 and is a popular choice for celebrations such as presidential inaugurations, weddings, brunches, and New Year's Eve toasts. Visitors can enjoy guided walks, tasting events, and explore the history museum on the estate.
This was our last stop of the day & sadly we missed the last tour. However we were able to get a table for a last minute tasting. Julie was so great in sharing the history of the champagne, wine was great & the Christmas decor was still up which made it feel festive. There’s 5 tastings & she also gave us a complimentary off the menu pour. We also just missed the deli before closing but the outside area is so pleasant & peaceful. Will definitely be back to try the deli & grab a complimentary glass for the tour. Cheers!

We had such a great time visiting Korbel. We didn’t make a reservation and they were kind enough to try and accommodate us. While we waited we had some food and really enjoyed both the salad and sandwich. The salad tasted fresh and I really enjoyed the dressing. The sandwich was a good portion size and had a nice balance of all the ingredients. They have a beautiful area to sit outside and we got to enjoy the nice weather. Our tasting was a lot of fun too. We sat inside their tasting room and our server was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the sparkling wines we were trying and it was clear that she loved what she did. She helped us pick the best flight that would meet our needs and interests. There is some parking here although I’m not sure if it’s the same during busy times. Insta: @TheShahLALand

Came here for a Chamber mixer as it's one of my favorite wineries in the world. So many great childhood memories of Korbel. The tours are fantastic. The winery is down to earth. The redwoods are magical. The view of the vineyards spectacular. Delicious deli food. I don't even drink wine and just love coming here for all the other wonderful things this historic winery has to offer! 💕

🥂 Everyone has heard of Korbel, and we weren’t expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised! We 100% recommend stopping in if you’re in the area. Along with the tasting, we got a fascinating history lesson. 📖 We won’t spoil it, but be sure to ask what they sold first and why they’re allowed to use 'champagne' on their labels. 🍾 This experience is also very affordable and even waived with the purchase of a few bottles. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t need a bottle of bubbly in their fridge? 🥂✨

Korbel in Napa is a must see visit! The champagne had a well balanced taste and the food was fresh and flavorful. Hilary, our guide, made the experience unforgettable—she’s not only knowledgeable but also brought life to the tasting. Highly recommend asking for her when you visit!

Very beautiful and picturesque winery. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We skipped the tasting and purchased a bottle of champagne that Jack recommended. Perfect choice was the Le Premiere Methode Champenoise! We also had the Chicken Caesar Salad big enough for three guys, lol. Best Salad ever!! Samantha was awesome and very attentive, thank you!! Definitely recommend a visit 👌
