Fireside Winery in Marengo, IA is a charming winery with outside seating in both the front and back. The back patio offers a beautiful setting with trees, making it especially lovely during the fall season. Visitors can enjoy a variety of wines including Autumn Spice and Holiday Spice, perfect for warming up on chilly days. The winery also offers accommodation options such as an Air BnB rental and is dog-friendly.
Celebrated my mom's 80th birthday here! From the first inquiry to the day of the event - it was superb to work with them. Kylie was an amazing contact over there. Truly made the day top notch! Thanks to the whole team!

We absolutely love stopping at Fireside Winery! The Bacon Apple Pizza is our favorite dish to order and Fizzy Firefly is a must try for a refreshing summer wine. Warm Brie Dip is another notable mention! Booking tickets for one of the Fireside Winery evenings is an absolute must! We had such an amazing time at the ABBA Cover Band and can’t wait to try Elton & Billy and the Dueling Pianos next summer! Remember to bring a chair, tumbler, and bug spray (didn’t really need it, not a single bite!). They host food trucks for dinner and it’s a guaranteed fun evening! You won’t regret it!

Terrific stop for any cross country road stop. Nice people, sometimes live music, excellent small plates for with wine. Dog friendly - which is a plus for our family. Take in the beautiful scenery. Enjoy!!! A happy place.

Beautiful backyard setting wirh delicious ciders! The staff was not very welcoming when we arrived. The kirchen did close before the posted time so I'd be sure to ask when you arrive. We definitely enjoyed the beautiful setting and drinks!

I still dream about the wine slushies we had at Fireside. Walking the grounds and chilling by the firepit was bliss. I would come back to Iowa just to stop here again.

We visited the winery on a friday evening. They had live music, fires in the fireplace and fire pits, and wine tasting. We listened to the music and watch the sunset over the vineyard. It was amazing!

The Shops at Williamsburg

Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
Over all it was great experience, few stores but good ones Will visit again, loved that it has truck parking next yo the mall

A shell of it's former self. I remember when McDonald's was the only thing standing before the mall. I do miss the Pizza Hut though, had some great memories working there in high school, but come on, we all know visiting the Nike store is a must.
Jason G — Google review
I haven't been here for a while and I definitely won't be going back. The amount of empty storefronts outnumbered the occupied ones, 3 to 1. And the stores that are left, the selection and inventory was a joke. Its like everything that doesn't sell at other locations is sent here. Dont waste your time. Take the extra hour and drive to the outlets in Altoona.
Michael — Google review
Stopped for a quick visit however ended up visiting more than we expected. The pink card offer of 25% discount helped us this time as we were planning for a event. Based on my personal Tanger outlets visits this one seemed to have little more offer than other similar outlets(maybe were just lucky). Some employees might not apply the offer unless you specifically pay attention to the final check out amount. It happened to us in one instances and when we pointed out final checkout amount dropped considerably.
RJ — Google review
I was very surprised, it almost seemed abandoned. There were lots of empty storefronts. I was really quite surprised. There were only two places to eat McDonald's are Hardee's
Millie C — Google review
Awesome place! Got to shop and parked our semi truck. I am saving this location so I can shop while in the area again. They have dog park as well. Thank you management.

Its a really good place for shopping. There are many stores with lot of options. Clean and well maintained. Highly recommended. The parking lot was like 70% full so it was bustling with people.

Amana Heritage Society

Mentioned on
12 lists
Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Amana Heritage Society in Iowa offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the region's settlers. Visitors can explore several houses with shops, including a large general store with Christmas connections. The heritage museum provides a video introduction to early settlers, while the nearby house offers two levels of further exploration, including artifacts like a radar range from the 1960s.
There's much to say about the really important and wonderful Amana Heritage Society, but today, I enjoyed the "Colonies in Bloom" garden walk. Which I believe was sponsored by the Amana Heritage Society Museum and the Amana Colonies Events. We picked up a detailed map at the Visitors Center in Main Amana. Complete descriptions and addresses plus a QR code to find the same map on Google maps. The tour took us to all of the colonies (except West), where we toured the beautiful private gardens of some very committed and enthusiastic gardeners. An impressive and heart lifting array of flowers (and vegetables and herbs) that hit their peak in July. This is much appreciated timing for the late garden beauty that follows the first flush of splendor in June. Our conversations with the gardeners themselves in each are a large part of the enjoyment of this tour. The unique experience of this is not only are you dazzled by the colors and variety of plantings, but you also glimpse some of the unique history of this area. A few of the tour stops are in the well maintained gardens at historical sites. If you love flowers, history, being outdoors, and having a couple of interesting chats with like-minded folks, this is a can't miss event that occurs annually and is free of charge.
Ann M — Google review
Very well presented video presentation at the museum $10. & other interesting items & videos at middle Amana. After the attractions the rest is a lot of tourist for sale stuff. Nice camping area on the edge of town. Flat not many trees but reasonable.
Kenneth H — Google review
A very comprehensive museum on the life and times of the people of the Amana Colony. They have a large collection of artifacts, photos, documents, and stories of the people who lived and worked there. Stop and see this historic village.
Angie H — Google review
The interesting history of this area of IA added another level of history that you may not know about the settlers of the region. There are several houses along the street with shops of different interests for all to enjoy. General store being the largest with Christmas connected. The heritage museum has a nice video start to give you basic understanding of the early settlers. Then on to house with two levels of further exploring and interest. Even the radar range that grandparents may have had from the 60's!! Enjoy your walk along both sides of the street, park in middle or ends to enjoy your time here.
T R — Google review
Great place to visit spent about 3 hours walking around all the shops in the area
Denise F — Google review
Entrance fee of $10/ adult seemed high until we saw everything. Started with the video about the history. It was comprehensive but it could have explained more about how the community navigated " the big change" when they stopped being a communal living situation. It would be interesting to hear more about the shift from individuals. Unfortunately, I am guessing the adults are all dead by now. It is worth your time and $$ to experience this.
Deb V — Google review
Amana Heritage Society- Amazing complex. 4 museums for $10. Well worth it! ❤️

Excellent history not only to watch on a movie screen. But to walk and take in the true meaning of the Amana people and there hard but rewarding lives.

Amana Colonies is a collection of seven traditional German villages in Eastern Iowa, offering old-fashioned stores, restaurants, and artists' workshops. It's a charming Midwest destination with shops, wineries, and various activities that provide an escape to a simpler time.
We stopped by for the Iowa Renaissance Festival (which was very fun) and then cruised through town and stopped by The Chocolate Haus as we were looking for some ice-cream afterwards. The ice-cream was fantastic and they have do many other treats to choose from! Very cool area. Rustic charm everywhere you look....planning on heading back as there's alot to explore.

Interesting shopping, sites, and history. Lovely restaurants with great food. We made reservations but there were walk-in customers. Beautiful flower areas in front of cute gift stores. The lady at the Visitor Center was very thorough explaining the history of Amana. Plenty of parking.

In August 2025, we visited the Amana Colonies Visitor's Center in Amana, Iowa. The Amana Colonies are a collection of 7 Colonies of German Heritage in Central Iowa, and they are not Amish. There are many quaint shops and buildings, and they are clean and well-maintained. Apparently, the Amana Colonies draws the highest number of visitors of any tourist attraction in Iowa. We greatly enjoyed visiting the Amana Colonies Visitor's Center.
John C — Google review
We stopped through here on a road trip. Very pretty, it's great if you want to shop but it's mainly only shopping and eating. But a very cute little place.
Gemma M — Google review
We had a great visit at the Amana colonies. There were some great shops and places to eat in town. It's fun learning about the interesting history. Highly recommended.
Keith J — Google review
It’s a nice historic town with nice shops to explore. We had a nice German dinner and visited the local brewery with really good beers!

This was a great overnight destination for us. We found good food, lots of history, and walkable shops. Our accommodations at the Millcreek Inn were excellent.

Stopped here with my wife while passing through and wished we had more time. Beautiful old world charm with unique shops, restaurants, and bakeries. We will be back and visit when we have more time and will bring our RV as the nearby campgrounds look nice as well. Definitely worth stopping by and everyone was helpful and friendly.

Cedar Rapids Museum of Art boasts a collection of over 7,000 works that emphasizes on American art from the 20th century. The museum is cozy and not too large, making it a pleasant space to explore. Notably, the museum features an impressive exhibition of Grant Wood's artwork, including his famous 'Woman with Plants.' Visitors can also enjoy other artworks such as Frieseke's 'Before the Window.'
Beautiful museum with lots of artwork and history to see and learn about! This museum holds the largest collection of Grant Wood works of art in the world, literally! We saw they were offering free admission for a limited time so we took advantage of that opportunity with having a group of people to take. Well worth the hour drive 🥰
Shellby — Google review
Wonderful museum in Cedar Rapids. I learned a lot about Grant Wood. Worth a visit if you're downtown. I appreciate the local artist exhibitions as well.
Jen B — Google review
Highly recommend visiting! I love and appreciate the free admission during the summer months. They have such beautiful and unique art pieces that will rotate sometimes. It is so fun coming back and seeing what is new. The staff are friendly and helpful in answering any questions you may have. The museum is quiet, clean, and spacious. There are plenty of areas for sitting, including a large sitting and reading room. I also love visiting their gift shop that has a wide variety of items for anyone’s taste or preference, even having a kids section. We parked in front of the museum on the street, which is free on evenings and weekends. Looking forward to my next visit.
Megan — Google review
We happened to visit on a day that was free. Parts of the building have a mild mildew smell to it, I’m not a fan of that. That aside the seeing art with the kids was fun. It’s two stories and there’s a gift shop. Be prepared to pay well beyond retail value for everything except a soda at the gift shop.
Sarah S — Google review
I'll go ahead and give them five stars because it was free the day/time I went, and they don't force you to exit thru the gift shop. Otherwise it's a bit small but since I don't know what they charge even I won't judge them for that. What they did have was generally pretty impressive, the Grant Wood collection was surprisingly beautiful. The Roman section had some great historic items as well. There's as a large focus on local Iowa artists, and a lot of landscape works at the moment at least. Plenty of free parking in the area on weekdays, I saw a garage too but don't know the situation. Staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely worth checking out. Building is old and pretty cool.
Joe S — Google review
Absolutely delightful! Warm and welcoming staff. Quiet and spacious - allowing you to absorb yourself in the transcend environment. You really must go!
Terry M — Google review
Clean, friendly and organized. Good selection of local art, just small in size. Good way to soak up 30 min if needed!
Eric S — Google review
I really enjoyed my first visit to this wonderful museum; my primary purpose was to see their Grant Wood collection. I phoned ahead of time to better understand their holdings as well as their relationship to the Grant Wood studio a few blocks away. I was fortunate enough to speak with Sean, the Executive Director, who went above and beyond to not only answer my basic questions, but also to provide many suggestions as to how to maximize my visit, including his recommendation to ensure that I view their works by Marvin Cone, whom I was not familiar with. I am grateful for Sean's guidance, and am now a new fan of Cone. The museum has a well-rounded curation, and features a variety of types paintings, sculpture, and ceramics, to name a few, as well as a fantastic museum store. I highly recommend a visit.

Library
Nestled in the picturesque Czech Village of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library stands as a vibrant tribute to the rich heritage and experiences of Czech and Slovak immigrants. This cultural gem features engaging galleries that delve into their history, including a captivating permanent exhibition titled "Faces of Freedom: The Czech and Slovak Journey." This multimedia experience takes visitors through significant historical events such as the World Wars and life under Communist rule, ultimately highlighting their quest for freedom in America.
Very informative and knowledgable staff! Everyone was very welcoming and as we only had a short time to spend there they were able to give suggestions on what to see quickly. Quality exhibits and gift shop with great gift ideas. Worth the stop and perfect location to then walk around an explore more of the Czech Village.
Elizabeth K — Google review
Professionally curated collections including both historical and modern treasures. The museum highlights the Immigrant experience as well as the home country experience. People exploring their heritage will find an abundance of information on Czech and Slovak culture. The volunteers offer valuable insights and personal stories. The gift shop includes authentic pieces for purchase. Additionally, the library has limitless resources and helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Paige K — Google review
The museum represents our history, which should resonate deeply with every Slovak and Czech. It reminds us where we came from, what kind of world we once lived in, and why we should value freedom and democracy. Powerful stories of our ancestors are told here.
Richard R — Google review
Worth the stop. In this era when immigration is pivoting, I am so glad to drop in to this museum; and listen to the VOICES of FREEDOM. This exhibit helps me realize just how grateful I am for the freedom and privileges I have inherited. I live on the backs of those who came before me here in this land, and those who sacrificed for the preservation of our liberties and ideals. Beautifully and artfully done.
PTR — Google review
This museum contains exhibits and artifacts chronicling the arrival of Czech and Slovak immigrants to the United States. The museum also contains a store and library, which includes books and periodicals for research. The staff are very knowledgeable about this overlooked piece of American history. Highly recommended for history buffs.
Jerel J — Google review
As someone who enjoys visiting museums across the US that focus on the cultures and countries from which immigrants came to America, I can confidently say the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids is an absolute gem. Impressive Scale and Infrastructure The size of this facility is truly astounding. This isn't just a small cultural center—it's a comprehensive 50,000 square-foot institution that rivals major museums in much larger cities. The infrastructure is remarkable. Outstanding Exhibits and Experiences The exhibits were superb throughout. Each display thoughtfully tells the story of Czech and Slovak immigration and culture, making it accessible whether you have personal connections to this heritage or are simply curious about American immigration history. A particular highlight was watching the clock tower's on-the-hour display of Czech workmanship—it's a rewarding experience that showcases the artistic traditions and craftsmanship that immigrants brought with them to America. A Source of Pride Having grown up in Northwest Iowa and spent time in Omaha, I've seen how immigrant communities maintain connections to their heritage. The Czechs, both those from the US and from the Czech Republic itself, must be incredibly proud of this museum. It's clear that significant care, resources, and love have gone into creating this institution. Bottom Line This is absolutely a must-visit destination in Iowa. Whether you're interested in immigration history, Czech and Slovak culture, or simply appreciate well-curated museums, the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library delivers an exceptional experience that honors both the immigrant journey and the rich cultural traditions that continue to enrich American communities today.
Henry — Google review
This is an entry fee well worth spent. You could literally spend two days in this place looking at the exhibits.
MajikMan747 — Google review
My husband and I stumbled in here, the displays were so informative and I love learning about another culture. We ended walking around for a couple of hours, the clothes and music were by far my favorite, the ship was also pretty cool. The gift shop seemed crazy high in prices but worth getting a couple of trinkets to commemorate your visit, the ladies working there were so nice!

In Czech Village, find authentic Czech products, architecture, paintings, heritage buildings, bakeries serving mouth-watering delicacies and antique shops with rare collections.
One of the hot places to be in the town though there wasn't mich happening on this early evening on a Thursday night at the start of November. Many restaurants as well as the newbo market to dine in or watch an outdoor comcert.
Craig B — Google review
A wonderful place to shop. Sadly after 35 years including the 2008 flood, the owners have sold the building and are retiring. December 7, 2025 will be the last day open. The good news is that several of the vendors are moving to the new Oddmama's Antique Mall 1216 2nd Ave. SE Cedar Rapids. Grand opening November 1. Hope see you there.

Fun and engaging area that includes the check museum. The museum itself was really fun and exceptionally well appointed. The staff there was tremendously welcoming.
Terry M — Google review
Coming from Prague it was interesting to see this area. The new apartments in the district made me think of the new apartment buildings in Karlín. I liked Cedar Rapids on the whole. It is similar to a modern Czech city, with bike paths and buses. Also the murals in this market area were like you'd see in Olomouc or another city in CR.
Paul B — Google review
This was my first visit to the museum. The immigrant house was fascinating. As were the galleries. They had several cases with glass on display. The docent said they have quite a bit more, it was just not currently on display. It would be wonderful to see more. Maybe next time. The docents were very knowledgeable about their subjects and very friendly.
Angela L — Google review
The village is a small area and it's very walkable and you can visit a multitude of interesting shops. Make sure you visit the Czech Museum since I found it worthy. I had very little concept of the struggles in this country and after a visit I came away with tremendous respect upon learning the history and endurance of the Czech people. This museum has an unusable way of transmitting personal struggles. You must visit. Honestly, I am not a fan of museums, but I do recommend this one. I especially enjoyed the film showing how this large museum was moved after a severe flood. Fascinating.
LA G — Google review
We had an amazing day visiting the Czech Village On Main Street District. Thank you to my son for taking me to see this amazing community. We will be going back on my next visit to the area. The Museum is well worth the time to go and see. Beautiful area amazing people so friendly and welcoming. The Glass shop oh my goodness stop by and say hello, they have glass that glows under the light. Have a blessed day. Merry Christmas to all in Cedar Rapids Iowa

I felt it was hyped to be more than it was. And the main store I wanted to go to wasn't open during our entire trip so that was a bummer. You also couldn't really tell you were there, because nothing was marked as the Czech Village District.

Brucemore is a grand 19th-century mansion situated on a historic 26-acre estate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It serves as a tribute to the legacies of three prominent local families. Initially constructed in 1884 for Caroline and her children, it was renowned as 'the grandest house west of Chicago.' The mansion was designed in the Queen Anne style but underwent renovations by subsequent owners, George and Irene Douglas, who transformed it into a simpler Craftsman style.
Beautiful historic home tour. Ticket prices are very reasonable for such a lovely tour. We saw the Christmas display, but wish to return in summer to see the gardens. Staff was very kind and knowledgeable.
Marie R — Google review
I enjoyed the tour and got impressed by the interior. You can learn about the history of the owners. There is a garden as well. There is also a souvenir shop.
Zzz P — Google review
A beautiful historic home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The house tour was informative, interesting, and even had a few twists! The grounds and gardens are beautiful and open to the public for a stroll, to walk the dog, or wander with children. It must necessarily be a wonderful and g.j gorgeous backdrop f ou r the many community arts events held there. I am looking forward to returning during the holiday season.
Lynn H — Google review
Only toured the grounds so can’t speak to the inside of the house. Grounds were beautiful to walk around, some paved paths, but otherwise you can just walk through the gardens and hilltop. Free to see the grounds so worth it for a quick stop. They could use some better signage for some of the buildings. Even if we had time to tour the house, didn’t even know where to get the tickets. One staff member we saw was less than helpful and couldn’t even direct us. Google maps may take you to the “exit” to get in, so look for the one small sign on 1st pointing to actual main entrance.
Elizabeth K — Google review
Very interesting and unique historic property. Only $5 to explore the mansion. The organ alone is worth the admission. The Grant Wood porch is a real gem for artistic types. I only wish the interpretive displays and brochures would explain more of how the families who lived here positively impacted the local community and how their philanthropy was significant to the city/region. Talking to the docents, there is a lot of additional information that could be shared. This additional information is what makes a historic property interesting. This alone dropped it one star. Otherwise, it would be five stars for me.
Nickelrt — Google review
If you live in Iowa this is a must stop to learn about the families behind the biggest industries in Cedar Rapids. The home is filled with an amazing history and I truly enjoyed the tour.

Shopping
Coral Ridge Mall is a popular shopping destination located near the Iowa River Landing. It features an NHL regulation-sized ice rink, a food court, carousel, and movie theater. The mall houses a wide range of retailers including Target, Barnes & Noble, HomeGoods, H&M, Sephora, and many more. With its diverse selection of stores and entertainment options such as the movie theater and kids museum, Coral Ridge Mall offers a pleasant experience for visitors.
Easily one of the top 5 malls in the state of Iowa. CoralRidge Mall is located right along I-80 which naturally brings a lot of visitors to the mall. While many malls in Iowa have died off in the last decade and become littered with vacant lots, this one remains very lively and energetic and will continue to do so for years to come. I haven’t come across a single empty or neglected area of this mall. Very clean too. Plenty of parking. There’s an ice rink, arcade, food court, play areas for smaller children, and a diversity of both big and small retailers. Lots of other cool shops. It’s not the most grandiose mall by any means, but it’s about as good as you’ll get anywhere outside of the malls in Des Moines. Great place to take your kids for the day.
Minespidur — Google review
Big mall in the harvest state. There were plenty parking lots so you wouldn't need to wait. There were plenty stores inside the mall, and the food court was quite huge. Plenty fast food chain in the food court, so you wouldn't face difficulty to eat. I decided to eat charleys philly steaks, and the menu was delicious. Relly love the spicy boneless wings. There was an ice skating arena. The mall was clean, and so the restrooms.
Michael S — Google review
This mall is the largest one in the area and being around a college town stays pretty busy unlike most malls around. It has the typical mall stores but also has a Best Buy and Target hooked on to it and my favorite two stores a Barnes and Noble and a Sheels. It has a decent food court as well with about 6 different places where pretty much anyone can find something satisfying. It has a lot of parking but it typically is pretty full during peak hours or especially weekends.

Okay. Not too busy. Cleanliness could be improved. Carousel staff felt annoyed and didn’t help people who didn’t know what to do to purchase a ride. Ice skating staff was also not willingly helpful. I had to ask them to help us and to get us skates, etc. just obviously that no one wanted to work there.

I live in rural Iowa, but I have to go to Davenport monthly. I make it a point to stop at Coral Ridge Mall each month. They have such an array of different stores and I appreciate that the mall is still staying busy. It’s a fun way to break up my trip each month

Great Shopping Mall with several stores to shop at. Conveniently located right off the highway. Plenty of parking in the parking lot.

The Iowa Children's Museum in Iowa City is a vibrant and educational destination for families. The museum offers two floors of entertainment with activities suitable for all ages, including interactive exhibits like a farm, trains, grocery store, hospital, rocket ship, airplanes, and skateboards. The space is well-designed with safety in mind and features a quiet room for breaks. Visitors can expect thorough cleaning protocols and the option to purchase an annual pass for additional benefits.
I have 7 year old twins and a 2 year old, they played for 3 hours straight. I like the flow of the museum, suitable for wide range of ages. Also very clean inside and all employees were friendly. Highly recommend visiting here, also helpful being in a mall right by the food court.

Be prepared for sadness when it’s time to leave! Wonderful place to spend a few hours or an entire day, many activities and fun stations for children. Staff very friendly, helpful and professional!
Rhonda R — Google review
There truly is something for every kid here. A lot of the play areas are wheelchair/stroller accessible, they have sensory bags at the desk and warnings at each area for children with different sensory needs. The staff are super involved with visitors and are so kind to everyone. The ICM is also a part of Museums For All! We're not from the area, but we make this trip once a year because it's amazing!

What a wonderful place for the lil ones to play! Hours of entertainment! We were there all day and had a blast playing in all the different activity rooms! Interactive and educational play rooms. Fun for all ages! Will be back soon!

I was worried out older kids wouldn’t like the place but we had to drag them out after almost 3hrs 😂 it’s affordable and a great time.
Kristi H — Google review
My 4&5 year old boys loved it! The big slide and lights out room were a favorite!
Cody P — Google review
Accessible. So much to do and see. My kids tend to run from exhibit to exhibit and don’t stay long in one place. My 7 year old likes the “airplane”/“aviation” room best. My 4 year old likes the hospital/ambulance room best. I thought the ambulance was educational for me! So many cool sets and builds! I like the big coral cove room! Staff is attentive and is helpful. Children are encouraged to explore and discover. It is noisy, so if you’re sensitive, headphones are available to borrow. You can get a stamp and leave and come back latter same day. We like being able to break for lunch or snack, which the mall food court is right outside the museum, and go back in. Entrance is right next to outside doors, and is quick to get to. Parking is plenty, but you might have to walk a ways. One of our favorite spots to visit when in town.

Devonian Fossil Gorge

Mentioned on
1 list
Scenic spot
Nature & Parks
The Devonian Fossil Gorge is a remarkable archaeological site that showcases remains of an ancient ocean floor dating back 375 million years. It's a popular destination for families with young children and pets, boasting well-maintained trails, a small play area, and opportunities to observe pelicans by the beach. Visitors can also learn about fossil formation in an educational setting and see firsthand what they look like in their natural environment.
There is an accessible section where there is shale you can roll up to. The majority is walking. I recommend bringing a sketch book and some pencils for the kids and teaching them to imprint. We're adults, and we also loved doing this. Remember to preserve the space and leave the fossils. We saw some people with buckets and were saddened as, over time, this leads to fossil land loss. Overall, it was a great experience for all.
Sarah S — Google review
There were a LOT less fossils in harder to spot than I thought they would be! Half of the time when I heard someone exclaim "There's a fossil!" I would want to go over there and see it as I wasn't seeing much. At the "back" take the narrow path on the left to more uncovered rock/fossils. Then there's the pond and a lovely wide paved path along the river to walk.
Karen S — Google review
Theres literally fossils everywhere! They're sea creatures and corals, not T Rex and big dinosaurs. Go walk down onto the rocks and then get real close, look down and you'll see fossils literally everywhere!! This is one of those amazing off the beaten path stops that I highly recommend. We could have spent 2 hours here easily looking at everything. Theres no RV parking, however its right next to a campground, so we spent the night here and drove down to it, though you could also walk from the campground.
The N — Google review
This was a great evening place to walk and explore for kids and adults. It was a great seeking adventure. Unfortunately the VC is closed for renovations (July 2025) where the skull of a prehistoric mean looking fish is. But there were plenty of shells and coral to find. Really cool find.
Murphys O — Google review
I couldn't see the fossils and I thought it was more a place where you could find fossils. However, it is a pretty area and pleasant to walk through.
Ides B — Google review
Upon entry it doesn’t look like much, but once you get up close to the rocks there is lots to explore. My toddler loved splashing through the puddles and looking for fossils. We were there for about an hour and only a couple other families/groups were out at the same time as us.
Abby L — Google review
The visitors center is closed for renovations until further notice. We did find the fossil bed & enjoyed walking the bed & seeing the fossils
Amanda G — Google review
This natural area is stunning! Truly beautiful views of the river and the wildflowers are fantastic. I found several of the smaller fossil, what a neat place. The trails are nice, but the woodpecker trail has lots of flying insects. I saw a deer on the way in, and a cardinal, painted turtle, and frog in the park itself. If you’re anywhere near Cedar Rapids, come here!

Future Birthplace of Captain Kirk

Pretty neat to see. I’m more of a next generation fan, but I can respect what the original Star Trek was for its time. If you are a Trekkie, definitely a must see. If you are at the site at 12, be aware that the speaker above the monument is a tornado alarm and goes off at 12 everyday. Not sure why, but it almost scared me into the year 2228. Be warned lol
Paul K — Google review
Neat bit of pop culture history. The museum had a decent amount of Star Trek memorabilia and souvenir items. I was a little disappointed that the marker got moved by City Hall. It is tucked back between two buildings. It feels like it needs a better placement.
Ryan S — Google review
Great to have been there but the monument was moved. The area is being updated. Love star trek, to be there was awesome.

Very nice granite marker notating the "Future birthplace of James T. Kirk", Captain of the Starship Enterprise. The town is decorated with banners showing multiple Star Trek characters from the original TV Show.
Scooter M — Google review
A legend is born...or will be. This is a fun little stop for Star Trek fans. It is a nice nod to Captain James T. Kirk, the franchise, and the other actors/characters from the Original Series. Right across the street is the post office which also has some postings and items related to Star Trek TOS. Several places in the town have flags on telephone/light poles with different characters on them. Be sure to check out the museum/store in town as well as the statue of James T. Kirk.
R R — Google review
All Trekkies should make this pilgrimage! The town has embraced this and offers more to see.

The employees are super sweet, allowing us to explore the store shortly after store hours once we told them our road trip journey. After realizing the Trekfest occurs next weekend, we definitely plan to join the festivities next year! Live long & prosper!
K — Google review
Great visit for a Star Trek - The Original Series (ST:TOG) / Captain Kirk fan, but also quite a bit of other Star Trek memorabilia including Data's desk from ST:TNG. Best thing about the location is that the entire town is in on it: Star Trek themed street signs, post office, welcome sign, park, etc. Staff was very chatty and made our visit great. Definitely worth the stop for a fan. Don't expect a high budget California attraction.. this is a fan funded place built from love of the series and supported by volunteers.

Such a fun place! Great ciders, nice people, fun entertainment. Beautiful setting!! Honey lavender cider is probably the greatest cider in the state of Iowa.

We were so happy to stumble onto this place! We had a cider sampler and they were all delicious! Our favorite was the blueberry. The food was just as amazing! Great service as well! They had live music, and that added so much to the already relaxing vibe of the place. The store was stocked with lots of organic food, and very cute decor items. We loved the board games that were available to take back to the table. We will definitely be back here many more times!

Riverside Casino & Golf Resort

Stylish rooms & suites with golf course views, plus a spa, an indoor/outdoor pool & 4 restaurants.
Always love going here, win or lose. The staff are so friendly, dealers and pit bosses. I typically bring $50 and enjoy the time I’m there. Even though I’d say I’m a “low profile” guest (only bringing in $50) I am always treated with respect and as a valued customer. This is and will be my favorite casino to play at. Thank you riverside staff! And too, the casino itself is beautiful, and busy, but not too busy. A great environment to enjoy a drink and company or no company.

I love the atmosphere, great people and an amazing staff. May I suggest if you have backed child support that you only ever have part of your money in the machine.i rolled a jackpot today while I had my entire bankroll 30 dollars, used a fifty was going to cash out and leave at 20. Not only was the jackpot taken but all the money that way in at the time. Thank you for leaving me with nothing to be able to get home.

The staff is great. They are relaxed, always smiling. And you feel welcome. The entire casino, including the bathrooms, just shine. And smell good. They're cleaning crew on the casino Floor are always pleasant. Would you like a casinos? Are not that way. These are just a few things that make the clientele comfortable. And not on edge as they gamble.
Brad M — Google review
All I can say about this casino is that they are stingy when it comes to giving out gifts, gift cards, and free plays. $10 gift cards? Really? I went to Bally's once and they sent me a coupon book with all kinds of good stuff. Free Buffets (everyday), Free Hotel every week, $100 FREE PLAY Every day!!!! PLUS $80 GIFT CARDS!!!! And their free gifts are not cheap gifts! I have been driving there to get my free $100 plays and $80 gift cards! An hour drive for me. It's worth it!! And the funny thing is...I don't have to lose hundreds of dollars just to get all these free stuffs. I can't wait until the new casino opens up in Cedar Rapids! Once they are open, I will be going there. No more Riverside!!!

A+ on the food it is $$$ but we'll worth it. 😋 As always play for fun and do not build an addiction. IIt is a really good Casino/Hotel and we have stayed at the hotel as well and it was good. You will love the bathroom/shower! Tons of space. God bless!

Played the golf course and was very disappointed in the condition of the greens and course management. We were just a twosome on a Friday afternoon and we were placed behind 3 groups of 4 that were playing a best ball. They didn’t let us play through and it was very slow. Would have been nice to have a course ranger out there and they could maybe push these guys a bit. They are charging a pretty hefty green fee for slow play.

Specialty Museums
Exhibits celebrating the design, lore & popular allure of motorcycles plus vintage-bike rallies.
This museum is great! They also give military/Veterans a discount on the admission. The history and the motorcycles are amazing! I CAN NOT believe they're closing their doors in September. It's a shame this museum and the history are going to be auctioned off. I'm hoping someone with the cash can step up and save this place before it's gone. It's definitely worth a stop and seeing all the motorcycles and other history. See it before it's gone!
INTIMIDAT3R — Google review
I visited in 2022 & thought I left a review, but apparently not. This place is well worth the admission, if you're into motorcycles. There are a ton of cool bikes here and different areas of the museum. All the bikes I saw, had info about the bike. Don't go thinking all the bikes are "pristine/redone", because they are not. Some are on loan/donated and are used bikes, that would probably start up and take you down the road. Some are a blast from the past, whether for speed or a technical wonder for it's time. The museum is set up nicely and was clean when I was there. I do wish they had more room in order to see some bikes better, since some areas are pretty packed. I recently saw that they will be closing this year, and what a shame. I hope I can make it there again, before that day comes. I live a few hours away & well worth the drive.
Blonde D — Google review
Sad to see this place go, but economic times move on. The museum has some cool stuff if you like bikes. The flow was a bit odd at times, and it might have helped if the place was set up by year, bike genre, or something other than we git this, and here is some open space. It's hard to follow for several in our group, but it's still worth seeing.
Marty H — Google review
Neat little museum if you love motorcycles and their history. Not as extensive as Wheels through time, but still a cool place. Unfortunately they will be shutting their doors September 5th, so I rode out on a Thursday just to walk through. Took me about 45 minutes. Glad I went.
Mark P — Google review
What an awesome museum! Definitely, worth our 2 hr drive here. Very educational, and a ton of vintage items from our childhood. Love it! The employee on duty was absolutely amazing. So fun with a great personality! Highly recommend going! Bucketlist goals! ✅
Maureen V — Google review
This is a fantastic museum but give yourself plenty of time to check it out. The collection is incredibly varied and surprises are everywhere. My only complaint is that some areas of the museum are so packed tight it's hard to see a lot of the motorcycles. Seeing an awesome vintage bicycle collection was an unexpected surprise. It really helped tie together how much two wheeled transportation has changed in more than a century. Altogether an overwhelming collection with some serious history that deserves more than a quick walk through.
Ken B — Google review
Come while you still can, as this place sadly closes permanently in the first week of September It's a great museum. I don't like motorcycles, and I still found it pretty interesting I spent exactly (not including seconds) 1 hour and 45 minutes here. If you did not read everything, it would take significantly shorter
T J — Google review
Excellent museum and I learned a lot about the evolution of motorcycles. Many of the bikes has an information chart posted in front which helped me learn what the bike was all about. The walls are covered in old signage. There were a lot of Harley’s but also a section for Triumphs, Indians and some other brands, even old dirt bikes. They have a few exhibits set up to show the old board tracks and the wall of death. There was some history about the first female wall of death riders that I really enjoyed. It’s sad this place is closing in September 2023. Better get over and see while you still can!!!

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum, established in 1962, offers a fascinating insight into the life and work of President Herbert Hoover. Situated within the picturesque grounds of the Herbert Hoover Historic Site, the museum showcases a range of exhibits including artifacts, letters written by Hoover himself, and insightful videos that provide an overview of his presidency and post-presidential years. Visitors can also explore displays highlighting his extensive overseas experiences and even view a recreated Waldorf Astoria suite from his later years.
This is my favorite Iowa historic site. A great tribute to Hoover. Interesting, kid friendly library exhibits and beautiful grounds, complete with Hoover's tiny childhood home and restored neighborhood. A great family daytime trip, especially in the fall.
Glenn S — Google review
The museum is easy to get to and you can park fairly close to the entrance. While there is a lot of information about Hoover's presidency, I was most interested in the displays about Hoover's relief work and his efforts to provide food to starving people across Europe, Russia, etc. Nice museum that gives great insight into our 31st president and the grounds of the museum with the Tallgrass Prairie are a spectacular bonus.
Alice B — Google review
Great visit to this excellent museum, though smaller than newer Presidential libraries, it is well done and super interesting, great, well presented story of Hoover and his spouse, and the era in which they lived. Especially enjoyed the exhibits on his work overseas (maybe our most experienced President as regards a wide range of overseas real life non-political experiences?) and loved the recreated Waldorf Astoria suite and associated artifacts from his post presidential years. Also learned the key role Lou Hoover played e.g. in creation of the Girl Scout cookie program. Do visit this museum and library if you are in the area!
GT H — Google review
We learned so much about Herbert Hoover in his museum. Presidential museums educate and recall so many things about a specific time in our nation's history. Great investment in your knowledge base.🚶🤓✝️🇺🇸
Roger B — Google review
Very well done, smaller presidential museum. There is a small film to watch, then a mix of visual displays with very good signage. The museum tells a balanced, in depth story of his life from birth in a tiny home thru his death in the early 60’s. Hoover’s rise from being orphaned at an early age, being raised by his relatives to college graduation and economic success in mining, then government service and his one term Presidency. Hoover seemed to be a very talented individual, a victim of his times, and perhaps too humble for a top politician. Gained an appreciation for his knowledge and accomplishments. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good on site parking, no restaurant on site.

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Museum, located in West Branch, Iowa, showcases the life and presidency of Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States. It houses Hoover's documents, artifacts, and exhibits detailing his humanitarian work and the challenges of his presidency during the Great Depression. The library also serves as a resource for researchers interested in this period of American history.
Tom P — Google review
The museum is pretty small for $10. You can watch a 23 min video that basically tells you what is on all of the plaques in the museum. They try to incorporate items from the time period and less actual presidential items owned by Hoover. They could use some cleaning up as there is a dead bug on one of the books that clearly should not be there. They currently have a depressing Russian famine exhibit as well. They buildings from Hoover's childhood are free to go into. You can walk to the gravesite or drive pretty close and park, depending on the number of visitors. They say "up a hill" but it's not so bad. The staff is very friendly and likes to talk, but she didn't seem to up to date with the actual exhibits when questioned.

Herbert Hoover National Historic Site spans 187 acres and is home to the birthplace cottage, burial plot, and Presidential Library-Museum of Herbert Clark Hoover, the 31st President of the United States. Visitors are drawn to this site in West Branch to witness where Hoover was born and laid to rest. The guided tour offers insights into his humble beginnings and rise to presidency. The peaceful surroundings make it a serene place for both humans and pets alike.
My beautiful bride is a huge National Park enthusiast, I am not too far behind. We enjoyed our visit to the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. The park staff, including the ranger and the volunteers, were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable offering insights that brought Hoover's story to life. The exhibits were well maintained and thoughtfully curated making it easy to appreciate the historical significance of the site. Learning about Herbert Hoover's early life and the Quaker village he grew up in was enlightening. The preserved buildings and peaceful grounds offered a genuine sense of what life was like in his formative years. It's a great stop for anyone interested in American history, presidential heritage or simply looking for a quiet, informative visit. We would definitely recommend stopping if you are in the area!

Stopped because this was on our way home. Really liked it and learned a lot about Hoover. My prior knowledge came from 7th grade history and consisted of him being blamed for the Great Depression. So much more accomplished! Inspired me to purchase a biography to learn more. Definitely worth your time, and just a beautiful place to have lunch!
Terrence B — Google review
Despite the presidential library being closed the site was still fascinating. Felt like I was stepping into a bit of what Hoover experienced with the grounds there with the birth home, tall grass fields, and surrounding historic buildings nearby. I flew out to Iowa to specifically see this on a quest to see the grave site of every president. The gravesite was nice and solemn. However one thing I was not prepared for was the bugs! Small gnats everywhere. If you go near late May beware. They very much ruined my experience. Obviously nothing the site itself can control but I could not escape them no matter what I did. Wear bug spray! I would’ve but didn’t know to be aware of that issue headed into it

As you know I am a fan of NPS and all the sites. I was in the area and needed to stop to learn about our 31st President. There's a short self-guided walk through the grounds. Very interesting!

The best part is access to some of the buildings. You can go inside President Hoover's original home and get a feel for how closely his family lived.
Jim S — Google review
This is a great site for a quick visit. The video and exhibit is a bit repetitive, I would recommend one orthree other. The guided tour was great, it's a short comfortable walk for all ages to the various buildings. Along the same street are a few historic buildings with plaques that lead to the main street.

The first floor is the button museum, a huge upgrade from when it was located in the old spot. The jewelry for sale is affordably priced and the displays are clean. The second floor is dedicated to local business. The lady at the front was very nice and helpful.

Miss Liz gave us the tour and we learned so much about Muscatine and its button industry. The exhibits are well organized and there are some interactive elements. But Liz was certainly the highlight!

This place is so cool! They have a lot of fun and interactive exhibits for kids. I liked the giant muscle diorama the most. It was really educational. A great place to spend an hour when in downtown Muscatine. The lady running the gift shop was super nice. She gave my kids a fun pamphlet about muscles and was lovely to talk to. Worth the visit just to talk to her!

This is a very informative place, so much to see and read here. It's well laid out and consists of two levels. Definitely a learning museum with so many old pieces of machinery there. It gives a true meaning of tedious work for the people employed there. There is no cost to enjoy the museum however they do have a donation box near the front door. Please consider a nice donation as it's what keeps this place open.

Came here on a school field trip. Terry Eagle gave a brief presentation of the history of the pearl button factory. From its beginning to its demise. Did not realize the extensive historical influence this industry had on the growth of Muscatine. There are many items on display related to the pearl button manufacturing. There is a gift shop. Worth the trip. Call ahead and ask for a tour. Recommend!

Unique museum housing local historical industrial info upstairs and displays and examples of the wide variety of objects manufactured from Mississippi River mussel shells at the Button Factory. Free admission.

Lots of trails to walk on , beautiful place . I went inside to just use the restroom At first and spent 25 minutes inside looking around it was wonderful they even have a gift shop with lots of stuff for kids and stuff for adults as well this was a little treasure to find on the way they had some animals to look at also inside there was a downstairs but I didn’t have enough time we needed to head home but so glad we stopped

Such a wonderful find in the community of Maquoketa, educational nature experience cannot wait to share it with our grandchildren! The trail is awesome 👏🏼 Some clever ideas which are sure to fascinate both young and old.

It's a bad look in a place that should be welcoming for families for one of the employees to behave aggressive and territorial in the Pokemon Go game. There is no true reason or benefit for someone to so aggressively take the game gyms back as soon as any visitor comes to interact with them. Especially given as it was those same visitors who actually created most of the stops and gyms there.

Really great place for kids. They supplies items to catch bugs and frogs. Boots to use to go into the water. Lots of trails to walk. We didn't visit all the places but they have an area for fishing to.

We had a great afternoon at the nature center today. We enjoyed their grapevine wreath-making workshop and decorated some tree cookie ornaments. Afterwards we got to explore both inside and outside the building. The naturalists were very helpful and informative, we'll be planning a return visit!

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum offers a fascinating look into the history of trucking with its collection of antique models and vintage memorabilia. Founded by Bill Moon, the museum showcases over 100 different trucks dating back to the turn of the 20th century, including rare and unique pieces. Visitors can explore a large warehouse space filled with trucks of all kinds, each accompanied by informative plaques.
Free admission but well worth a nice donation. You could spend a couple hours easily. Plenty of benches you can sit on to rest. Lots of trucks and info that are amazing. Definitely worth a stop. Separate parking than the truck stop too.

Very cool to see all the history and rare, unique collection. Very nicely preserved and the staff were great. For a free spot its really cool to walk around and learn some things about the history of these trucks.

I had been dreaming of visiting this museum for a long time - and I finally did! It’s one of the best museums out there. Admission is free, though I highly recommend leaving a donation so it can keep growing. The museum has dozens of fascinating trucks, including my favorite - the Diamond Reo. You’ll also find plenty of vintage rigs from the early days of trucking. The oldest one dates back to 1903. Definitely visit - you won’t regret it!

This is the coolest truck stop I've ever been to. It has its own historic museum. Seeing all of the old school iron. It's always incredible to see. Make sure you get there before they close. I ran over there at 4:30 when I realized they closed at 5:00. But still had plenty of time to appreciate everything in there. Hope to be back in the future. 😁🤘🇺🇸💯

This museum was a pleasant surprise for us. We stopped to see the truck stop and saw the museum behind it. The museum has free admission and a bunch of unique trucks. It is a lot larger than what we were expecting. We really enjoyed this experience. I would recommend it to others.

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum is FABULOUS. I spent two hours drooling over all the beautifully restored machines -- plus a few ancient ones that haven't been restored (yet). From classics to one-of-a-kind oddities, this place has it all. The tremendous dedication and affection of their volunteers is evident in every gleaming detail. The museum is free, but pl

Iowa 80 - The World's Largest Truckstop is not just a typical rest stop; it's a sprawling complex that has been open 24/7 since 1964. It offers an array of dining options, including home-style eateries and fast food franchises, as well as essential truck driver services such as showers and fuel. Additionally, the megacomplex features a museum showcasing vintage trucks and other trucking memorabilia.
This IS the hughest truck stop I’ve ever been to. There’s soooooo many shop area and plenty of fast food restaurants as well as a sit down restaurant. It was surprisingly very clean, even the restrooms. Great job to everyone. You were all so very nice and courteous. Hope to see you again.

Come for the spectacle, skip the beef stew 🛻🥒🌶️ Iowa 80 Truck Stop—aka the world’s largest—is an absolute must-stop. Three stories of pure road trip madness: part trucker paradise, part retail circus, part roadside museum. We spent a couple of hours just exploring the place—and honestly, we probably could’ve stayed longer. Want a haircut? They’ve got a barber shop. Need an adjustment? There’s a chiropractor. Toothache on the road? Yep, there’s even a dentist. Oh, and a movie theater—because why not? We ate at the restaurant and made one tragic mistake: the beef stew. Unless you’re feeling nostalgic for a Swanson TV dinner from 1975, steer clear. That said, the buffet looked great, and there were plenty of other menu options we should’ve gone with. Before we left, we grabbed a jar of their Carolina Reaper salsa (hot and flavorful—amazing stuff) and some of their sweet pickles. Both were worth the stop on their own. Pro tip: Skip the stew, hit the buffet, and take time to explore. This place is part truck stop, part fever dream, and 100% awesome.

Have stopped here several times over the years. While I personally avoid it due to the crowds and enormity of the place, it is however a fun place to stop when my wife is traveling with me on the road. We stopped this last time during their July party weekend. There was a truck show, some live music, some booths, huge tents and a very festive atmosphere. We actually saw it as we were passing and backtracked out of the way to return. After easily finding parking in the huge lot We spent a few minutes enjoying looking at the spectacle of trucks and we're entertained. After that we wandered around and there was nothing ... it was a big fat nothing burger. Lame music, most booths were closed. Some overpriced sad BBQ plates were offered in big tents. This was 5pm on a Friday...

The Iowa 80 Truck Stop is a genius destination. It has so many service options and a whole lot of space. There is ample parking for semi-trucks, campers, standard sized vehicles and more. It has multiple semi-trucks and other vehicles on display inside the building. The location provides an up-close, hands-on experience unlike anything that I have ever seen. It was my first time getting into the tractor unit of a semi-truck, it is the front part of the vehicle that houses the engine and the driver's cab. It was such a fascinating experience to visit the Iowa 80 Truck Stop and understand how the semi-trucks operate to keep products moving throughout the United States. There was a lot to see and do at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop.

First visit ever yesterday, in spite of living in the vicinity years ago and occasionally driving past. Possibly the original super-stop for travelers and truckers. Includes a food court of six different fast-food chains, as well as a sit-down restaurant. Souvenirs for sale as well as unique food options in addition to the expected name brands. Gas yesterday was $0.40/gal cheaper than in Iowa City.

Got a hot coffee here and used the bathroom. Wanted to spot by to see what it was like and it was pretty cool. Lots of different snacks and things for truckers. They had a big food court here and a truck museum near that we didnt get to see overall a good experience. Cute little stop on our way to Chicago

Great establishment! An excellent experience in the plastic igloos! On an extremely cold day we were outside and it felt like it was summer. We got so warm we had to take our coats off. The pizza 🍕 was delicious and the wine 🍷 was amazing 🤩 A huge thank you to them for their donation of bottles of their delicious wines to put into our (D’Arte Art Gallery and Breakfast ) gift basket 🧺 at the Maquoketa Chamber Gala/Murder mystery, I am certain it will be a big hit with the lucky winners!❤️🍷🍾🍕🤩

Beautiful winery and distillery, a lot of outdoor seating and places to wander by the pond with a glass of wine. The vodka drinks were excellent too and they have other drink options. I was a little disappointed in the ease of wine tasting, they don’t really do flights either but want you to spend the time with a staff person for a tasting experience. We just got a bottle to share and spent time outside. Absolutely amazing pizza, we tried several kinds, it came out fast also. Fun place to stop and hang out!
Sarah H — Google review
TYCOGA Winery offers a delightful and affordable tasting experience for wine lovers visiting Iowa. While the overall selection is decent, the standout for me was their aged oak barrel red wine—beautifully dry with just the right balance of richness and character. It’s a wine worth coming back for. The pricing across the board is very reasonable, making it easy to enjoy a full tasting without breaking the bank. The venue blends the feel of a true winery with the relaxed charm of a local eatery. Their wood-fired pizza was surprisingly good—not the main attraction, but definitely satisfying. What really caught me off guard, though, were the cheesecake bites—rich, creamy, and absolutely worth trying. To top it off, the vineyard view in the back adds a peaceful and scenic backdrop to the entire experience. TYCOGA isn’t just a winery—it’s a relaxing spot to enjoy good wine, good food, and good company. Definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through.

Great little winery with wonderful views, fun selection of drinks, and delicious pizza. We greatly enjoyed our night out here..but wish they offered at least some customization on their pizzas. Worth a date night, event, or just a casual stop. The inside seating is great and so is the outside seating, although they could use more options to block the sun on the hot days.

Just beautiful. Seriously, a beautiful spot to have some drinks and enjoy friends and family. I had the whiskey slushy and it was a 13 out of 10! Others had wine and all were beyond happy with their selections! You really need to drop everything and go here!! Oh and we also had pizza and it was amazing!

We had a highway hiccup right in front of this winery. Flat tire on out travel trailer 25 min from our destination. We were woefully unprepared. Besides having an actual spare, and having air in it, we had nothing to take the blown tire off. We pulled into the parking lot to assess our situation. No tools.. and Im a mechanic. Wife walked to the winery to see if they maybe had tools to remove the tire. Not only did they have the tools, but Gabe, who identified himself as the owners son came out with a forklift and his personal tools to help us. I begged him to take cash for helping us. He absolutely refused. After the tire change, we drowned our sorrows tasting wine and buying a few bottles. 100% recommended.

We went in and asked a flight the manager, William l, recommended a tasting to find the wine that best suited myself snd my two friends. He was wonderful to do the tasting with. He helped each of us find the wine that we each liked best. Amazingly that was the first wine each of us tried. He really listened to what each of us like in wine. Fun experience and beautiful place.

Terrific winery/distillery with lots of yummy options to choose from. We went with friends to celebrate a birthday and absolutely fell in love with this place. The sweet Serenity wine I had was delicious as well as the Concord that my wife tried. We ended up sampling a few others and enjoyed them as well. We ordered 3 different pizzas between the 4 of us and shared with each other. Our meat pizza was delicious and can say the same in regards to the Hawaiian and the Supreme that our friends ordered. The bartenders were both friendly and attentive and quick to answer any questions that we had. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

Nature & Parks
Over 1,000 acres of multi-use trails plus playground, swimming pool, equestrian & camping areas.
Scott County Park is a beautiful well-kept park it is only a few minutes off of Highway 61 and it’s about 10 minutes North from interstate 80. They have four RV areas. One wilderness camping area and two other tent areas. They do not allow firewood brought into the park unless it is professionally wrapped. Or bought from a store. They have play grounds for young children located all over the park, they also have a big swimming pool. They have mountain biking trails and horse trails located in this park. They also have five shelters in this park that are available to rent out. There are three cabins that you can rent. They have a nice pond for fishing or kayaking also. Also check out their 18 hole golf course. Stop and take a break from driving have a picnic or just sit back in some lawn chairs and relax or go for a nice walk

This park is HUGE! There are several campgrounds tucked throughout the park. From concrete RV sections to primitive tucked in woods. They have a AMAZING Pool with splash area and slides. The land is so clean- from prairies of wildflowers with birds to deep woods with raccoon’s lol. Make sure you go on the trails. So pretty with streams etc. (my dog LOVED that part! ) There are a couple of ponds and I saw lots of people fishing. You can take kayaks on as well. It’s fairly large- toss between pond or lake. Shower houses are clean and the hosts are all amazing to help you with anything. Want to feel safe? DNR are thick! They drive around all day to keep us safe. So much to do. Highly recommend.

Great area with lots of playgrounds for kids. Tons of hiking, biking & horse trails. Bathrooms & all other buildings are very clean & well maintained. Make sure you enter the south entrance, not only to check in but all the signs for each campground faces that direction. Camp sites are paved & very nice in the Bald Eagle & Woodside campgrounds. Definitely ready to stay here again.

This visit was about checking the park out for future camping site. Wow is all I can say. One of the nicest parks I've been too but then my world is pretty small lol. Update.................. Finally made it back for camping. Spent 4 days and enjoyed what this park had to offer. We had some excitement on the second evening. Tornado touched down just North of the park. 80 mph gusts in the park. Not only is this one of the nicest state parks I've been too, the bad weather showed me the staff in action. I've been camping during bad weather before, but the staff at this park knocked my socks off with their quick reactions and professionalism. They went above and beyond to get us safe and keep us in loop as to what was going on, hats off to staff! I can't say enough good about this park. 1000+ acres of park, multiple campgrounds ranging from full hookup sites to full on primitive. Fish were even biting :). Large swimming pool with water slides. Don't pass this place up if looking for a nice park to spend the weekend in. For the bird watchers, this park is the nesting area of the rare Led Zep Ramble On. I could ramble on some more but I think you get the point.

Y'all need to check this one out I love camping this is one of those places thats great everyone there was amazing and nice besides one lady who gave me the nastiest look for saying "sorry about that" because my wife and I were leaving she didn't see the lady behind her truck and almost got her but other then that super great pool is not expensive there plenty of playgrounds and don't let google maps lead you there you will take the wrong road once you get to the camp sites for tents stop and ask someone everyone is walking around so they can help you or a ranger they were great too and bring your dogs restrooms are super clean as well but enough rambling get out there and have the fun you deserve

Curtis the bartender is the best!! So is all the staff at Bally Sports book & bar!! Matt the host has been great too! Ahmed in marketing is always helpful and all of the vip hosts are so kind! John is the best host director! The hotel staff, from the janitorial to the check-in staff and the housekeeping are always nothing but kind! Went to the buffet because it was highly rated on the visit qc buffet list. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our drinks never ran empty. Unfortunately the food was under seasoned, dry. I tried a little of everything but I didn't like any of the entrees, or sides. The kielbasa felt and tasted like bologna in a tube. The pork belly was soft, but didn't taste of anything other then grease. Cornbread had a cake texture, and weak corn flavor. The roasted and mashed potatoes were okay, as were Mongolia beef. The deserts were the best part. The baklava was great, as were cheese cake slices.

The Figge Art Museum, located in downtown Davenport, is a prominent art institution with a rich history dating back to 1925. The museum features an impressive collection of European, American, and Spanish Viceregal art, as well as works by regional artists like Grant Wood. Housed in a modern glass building designed by architect David Chipperfield, the museum offers educational programs, lectures, and events to engage the local community with the arts.
The Figge finally added glowing lights to the establishment. I go to the Figge often, usually on Saturdays; every second Saturday the Figge always host special events, for the festivities and to interact with art professionals. This enhances my passion for art and helps me connect with my local community. Just this past Saturday, they hosted an event for the community to witness the long-awaited glow.

It was free when I went. Lots of stuff to see and do! I loved that it allowed you to explore your own artistic side through fun activities. I also appreciated the art in this museum. It was not just modern art which I personally find boring, but the exhibit golden age with its descriptions really made me understand and appreciate the art. I thought it was fun and loved the cats and show exhibit. I think that was a cool way to incorporate today’s culture and make art more interesting! Also loved the gift shop very reasonable prices!

A visit to the Figge Art Museum is always a pleasure, but Thursday nights are an especially wonderful experience. Strolling through the beautiful galleries is even better knowing that delicious food and drinks await at the Figge Bar. The new Thursday evening menu offers high-quality, creative dishes that elevate the art-viewing experience into a complete night out. The tasteful setting and tasty bites are the perfect complement to the remarkable artwork. It's a fantastic tradition for art lovers and foodies alike.

I had almost decided to pass on one of the most inspiring experiences of my whole life. I loved this museum so much I had changed the itinerary of my trip by a whole day just to make sure I was able to really take it in...It covers so much in its exhibits yet it was not overwhelming. In addition, it has managed to remain so affordable and unpretentious, including the gift shop. I'm a student who has visited my fair share of museums and so many are simply not considering the average consumer (at 30-40$ per person). Its staff/volunteers are truly wonderful also. When I have more funds, I will be sure to donate to this museum.

Love the rooms, the casino is always so clean. Staff in all areas are so friendly and always greet you with a smile. But I must say one of the most impressive things I have seen each time we have visited Rhythm City is you have a food manager there I think his name is Ron. He is always helping the waitresses, busing tables, helping the host, cashiering and always so so pleasant with the patrons. Definitely a team player and really enjoys his job. Thanks Rhythm for the grand experience

We went to see George Lopez in concert on 2/15/25 and I must say that although I love the casino and hotel, I will NEVER see something in the event center! The seats are so close together that you are practically sitting on your neighbor. The directions to enter through the right door is not clear and the staff is incredibly rude! The lighting was horrible and the minute the concert started, people had their phones out, taking video and blocking the view...where was security then?? For $100 tickets a piece, you would think that it would have been laid out better! Don't even get me started on how hot it was in there! You do a concert in February in Davenport, it's cold outside, but with being packed in like sardines, not place to put your coats, then keeping it so hot...just disappointing. I will definitely visit the casino, maybe the restaurants and maybe even stay there but don't waste your money on an event!!

My husband and I have been here before to visit the casino, but this was the first weekend staying in the hotel. We stayed in a corner suite which was wonderful and really clean. The front desk staff were so nice and very accommodating. The only draw back to the room was the lighting situation. There were several light switches including a master switch by the door. This was incredibly confusing, one switch turned on one light, another switch turned off another - but turned on another. The little reading lights by the bed would only work if the actually bedroom light was on, which kind of defeated the purpose. We did go to Ruthies on the top floor and it was good and would recommend it.

I have been going to this casino for awhile, I played a lot 3 weeks in a row and went to the front desk to try to get a comp for a meal and was told that I had not played enough for a meal comp. The nice woman Sharon even went to the back and talked to the person in charge and came back and said that they could not give me a comp, I would like to know what you have to do to get a comp? She looked at my points and even she saw that I had played a lot. Never ever have gotten a free meal yet, been coming here for aver 3 years.

I definitely have more wins when I go to Rhythm City. You won't win all the time but it really makes it a lot more fun when you have better chances of winning. Can't say it enough, Really great place. Go check it out.

They lose a star to isle and jumers because they have comp rooms just like the other casinos expect the problem is no matter your status or ranking you have to use an actual credit card to book your room. You could have $5000 in PayPal or cash app for instance but thats not good enough for a deposit.

Vibrant Arena at The MARK

Arena
Vibrant Arena at The MARK is a 12,000-seat venue that hosts various events including sports games, live concerts, and musicals. Visitors have enjoyed performances by renowned bands like ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The facility offers amenities such as clean bathrooms and convenient escalators. However, some guests have experienced issues with food vendors and sound quality during concerts. Despite this, the arena has received praise for its handling of unexpected mishaps during events like Disney on Ice.
Saw a concert here recently. The location is nice, within walking distance (4-5 blocks) of many restaurants. However, they fill up fast on concert nights so if you plan on parking then going to eat get there at least 2-3 hours early. The venue itself is a good size and well laid out. You’re looking at about $5 for a drink and about the same for a basic food item.

May 13th we went to see Alice cooper. As always, slice and the band put on a top notch show. They have the best show going right now. The mark is always a great place to go to a show. But make sure you take your debit card,, they dont take cash.

My wife and I were fortunate to enjoy the Julie Green Ministries "Holy Ghost and Fire" tour here at the Vibrant Arena at The Mark. We had a awesome time. The arena is exceptional without a bad seat in the house. We were only in town for the weekend, but this must be a excellent place for sporting events.

You never know what a rock concert venue will bring… Seeing Heart at the Vibrant was fantastic… I’ve seen Heart 7 times now. To my surprise the Vibrant had really, really great acoustics! Clear sound and loud enough but not too loud. I brought ear plugs but I didn’t feel the need to use them at all. I would not hesitate to go to another concert there. Kudos to the Vibrant !! (and of course to Heart’s sound crew too).

My son and I had an absolutely amazing experience at the quad City storm game. Radar took pictures the entire staff was professional and absolutely amazing kindness just seemed to radiate from them. My son had an amazing time and we look forward to coming back again. We are headed back in December to Disney on ice

Wonderful venue. Easy parking! Very clean, well staffed, comfortable! One thing, don't bring a purse any larger than 7x5x1 (all inches). You can't bring a bigger one in than that size 🤠

Saw the Nathaniel Rateliff show here. Decent drink options. The staff were not all over you to help seat...meaning they were there to help, not confront, which was great! Concert sound in these arenas isn't always best but it was suitable. Based upon ticket price comparison between Chicago and Moline...this was a no brainer. Stayed the night in a VRBO and had a good time...probably would have spent about the same amount to see downtown but this was way chill.

Easy parking, restrooms, & beer. And a wonderful size! Love it for comedians, concerts, and it was even awesome for monster jam! Take a stroll & checkout the patios, the views are pretty nice too
