Realistic recreation of a early century village. Some of the time period tools and equipment were really interesting and all powered by animal or human. The wood lathe with the foot treadle and leather belt blew me away, although I did not get to see it in action as the representative was on break. The staff were all engaging and knowledgeable on their respective cradlfts. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Old Sturbridge Village is a true treasure for anyone who loves stepping back in time. This living history museum is beautifully done — from the authentic buildings to the period clothing, everything is designed to immerse you in the early 19th century. Most of the staff were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They were eager to share stories and fun facts about daily life in the 1830s, which made the experience feel alive and personal. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a full five stars is that a few of the “characters” didn’t seem all that enthusiastic about their roles. It wasn’t enough to ruin the experience, but it did make certain areas feel less engaging than others. Still, wandering through this recreated New England village — where mills once turned, blacksmiths shaped iron, and communities thrived — was an unforgettable experience. It’s easy to imagine what life might have been like here nearly two centuries ago. If you love history, this is an absolute must-visit, and I’d highly recommend setting aside plenty of time to explore every corner.

Historic village with restored buildings and staff that represent life in New England in the 1830s. Very educational, beautiful grounds. Fun way to step back in time and enjoy the day. Shops sell items made in the pottery shop and the tin shop. The pottery studio and printshop were our favorites, because of the interaction with staff. Everyone we met was knowledgeable and friendly.

This post is specifically regarding the phantoms by firelight event during Halloween season after the museum is officially closed. It was by far my husband and my favorite part of visiting (primarily Newport, RI). The scenery is beautiful and seeing the history reflected in clothes, architecture, tools and crafts is just so neat. The themes of the event were on the darker side of things, which is expected for Halloween, but it was appropriate for the time periods, not grotesque and no jump scares. Tastefully done. The event started at 4:30 and the parking attendants were not set up until maybe 4:45pm. They should really have people there assessing the parking well before the event because there were tons of spots randomly open but by that time group mentality sets in and you tend to follow the car in front of you. We had intended to eat at the event but the lines were super long. Not all good stands have the same items so we walked to the side stands and we're disappointed to see you can only get basic theme park food that wasn't gluten free friendly. I was willing to just eat some chips or popcorn but my husband didn't want to spend half an hour waiting for an expensive sandwich that wasn't going to even fill him up. More food tents and options would be nice. We ended up leaving around 6pm to get food which was a bummer.

I have been here several times with my husband's family and I am always impressed by how beautiful it is. I appreciate that the animals are well taken care of and that the staff are all very friendly. This is a lovely place to visit with children or anyone curious about how different "old world" trades worked.

Fabulous experience. You SEE how various tools and daily chores get accomplished. And start understanding how interconnected each person, and their particular trade / skill set is beneficial and supports the community. A Living Museum. Much better than just walking through a display without seeing the tools and trades in action.

Very interesting and historic. Be sure to ride the horse-drawn carriage around the lake and through a covered bridge. Living history museum throughout with staff in costumes. We were very fortunate to visit during the cow parade art installation.

Celebrating our anniversary, we made the trek to Mohegan Sun for a night in the sky tower -being the newest of the two. The not optional valet parking was a very nice perk to the check in protocol. I mentioned that we were returning guests and celebrating and if they had a loyalty upgrade available, it would be very much appreciated. I was told the best they could do was put us on the 23rd. floor with a nice view. We took the rocket ship ride up in the elevator and entered our room. It was clean, but dated. Almost like the real quick ride on the elevator brought us back in time. The television was either a 37” or 40” set and mounted with a tilt -that proved the level was either uncalibrated or missing in action. The “nice view” was looking at HVAC units on the roof of the very large casino floor. If you looked to the left with your face against the window, the Mystic River was in fact visible. The wall to wall carpet turned to tile in the large bathing area, but you are met with a 1980’s tub and cloth shower curtain. With a $300 per night stay (more than a night at the Swan Reserve in FL), a renovation is long overdue.

First time stay at Mohegan Sun. We booked our room at their website and checked in at 1pm but the room wasn’t ready until 4pm. The space is huge with two casino floors located on either side of the resort. The architectural decor and interior is beautiful. High ceilings with lots of decorative pieces throughout the floor. Staff seems friendly and vibes are great. Our room located on the ninth floor was pretty good, we had a view of the river. The Sky Tower hallways are really clean and spacious and luxurious. The room was pretty good too with nice amenities such as a coffee machine and a refrigerator. Beds were comfortable and relaxing. There are many restaurants to eat here but I do wish they would offer more Asian cuisine. I also wish they had a buffet to cater many food to enjoy at one sitting. Overall, big space with large casino floors and free parking! We would be back again.

I can't rate the rooms because we didn't stay, but the place is absolutely beautiful with lots to do. Plenty of restaurants from pubs, lounges, and speakeasy's, to upscale Asian, Italian and Steak.. The shops were fun and also reached from casual to upscale. The gambling was good, with surprisingly plenty of quarter machines, which are my favorite and getting harder and harder to find. They have a couple of amazing chocolate shops with one small little bar that serves handmade chocolates with paired with specialty drinks. Plus an amazing bakery. A great day capped off with a fabulous dinner at Farm Italy. Definitely going back

I’ll start by saying that the resort and the casino itself are top notch. Many great restaurants and appealing atmosphere. However, they treat their casino customers horribly. I had made a reservation 5-6 weeks prior for this trip and specifically choose this weekend because they were offering me a “Sky Cove Suite” as can be seen in the photos included with this review. On arrival day I get a text to check in early, when I go to check in online, the room type was changed to “deluxe king” which is a standard room. When I called to get an explanation I was told that my Host was supposed to call me days ago to inform me. I got in touch with my “host”, Jackie, who offered absolutely no help with the situation including telling me they had so many events this weekend they ran out of suites, despite the fact I had a booked, confirmed reservation, they took it upon themselves to “bump” me out of my suite and cram my family of 4 into a standard king room. No offers of anything other than “I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do”. I am absolutely appalled by the lack of care or customer service, I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully by a casino ever. In a time where casinos are struggling to maintain business, spitting in the face of loyal customers certainly doesn’t seem like the way to go. This will be my last trip here, I did enjoy the place “while it lasted” but I will not give my hard earned money to a place that does not respect me. ***Update- as of today, 11/1/25, not a single person from Mohegan Sun has contacted me to offer any sort of apology or to at least attempt to make the situation right. Their review “responses” are as phony as empty as their customer service.

Elijah was wonderful during the check-in process, he was professional and courteous. He fulfilled our every request and made sure our stay was comfortable and according to our expectations. Sky tower is by far the best place to stay even for a quick weekend getaway. Nice clean rooms and beautiful view of the lake. Always a great experience at this hotel. Plenty of dinning venues and lots of fun activities for the kids.

Took my grandson for the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip Off tournament. We had a good time. Had lunch at MJ23 Bar & Grill. Food was great as was the service. Prices were fare for what we ordered. Prices at the arena we're a bit on the high side.

Went to the Wolf Den to see an Eagles Tribute band Sept 27th, 2025. They were PHENOMENAL. its standing room, unless you have a disability or pay extra for seats, i think! But not sure. We stayed at Hampton Inn. Free breakfast. Room and BRoom was great. Clean. Friendly staff. Easy chkin, tiny bar, but a bar! FREE breakfast-dont wait till the last 5min to get there, or ull prob get very little, if anything. Theres a FREE shuttle that leaves every hour for Mogegan. It also brings u back to the hotel on the quarter AFTER the hour. I cant remember, but i think it takes u starting around 5p. I could be wrong, so call ahead to make sure

My favorite park and enjoying it since I have a ton of benefits that sadly expire this year but my local park has a ot to offer if you plan it right!

They took out a bunch of handicapped parking spots to put more preferred parking spots which is annoying because the handicapped spots get full now and we end up having to go to the back parking lot.

Great place for everyone to have fun. With a variety of Rollercoasters and rides. They have a Waterpark as well and there is a place for children to enjoy aswell. Would recommend coming here.

A beautifully laid out & well maintained state park, the Gillette Castle - aka: "The Seven Sisters Estate" (named after it being on the most southern set of chain hills it sits on) has so much detail in the stone & wood work! At the visitor center, there are trail maps, bathrooms, vending machines & a museum type atmosphere re; the history of the park / Castle. There are also two restored 1/4 scale narrow-guage railroad engines (one electric & one steam) that William Gillette navigated 3 miles of track on his 122 acre property. Also here at the visitor center, there is a wrap around deck with outstanding views of the Connecticut river with lots of picnic tables. Its a very enjoyable day trip!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - fabulous park! The CASTLE TOURS are seasonal so check before you go if you want to go inside. The website has information. We were there when the tours were only on weekends. But you can still enjoy the exterior out the castle, and the views, trails, restroom, picnic tables. The area is gorgeous and beautiful walks. So glad we checked it out and we met some wonderful people while we were there. You can watch the ferry cross.

Very cool place to check out. You can take a tour of the inside now, a few years ago we were here and unable to go inside due to I believe it was renovation from what I remember. Glad to have been able to go inside, a lot of cool stuff inside, lot of interesting history, and just the architecture is amazing. There's also a trail you can hike if you like, unfortunately we didn't have time for that and the weather wasn't very dry for us to consider doing it during our short time in the area.

it's truly a hidden gem! Located within a beautiful state park, the castle offers scenic hiking trails and stunning views. The architecture and history of the castle make it a must-see destination. Tip: Be sure to purchase and print your tickets ahead of time for your preferred time slot. We didn’t have access to a printer and ended up waiting about an hour before we could enter. Thankfully, we used that time to explore the grounds and enjoy a relaxing hike through the park.

Such a hidden gem. Wasn't busy as the castle itself is closed for the winter. But the grounds were so neat, pretty, well cared for. Great views of the river.

Tremendous tip from my chiropractor to visit this incredibly unique castle completed in 1919. The stony exterior defies description, you must see this for yourself. Loyal staffers give detailed stories to help understand the architectural and engineering wonders of William Gillette, the building’s visionary and owner, actor, and the author who brought Sherlock Holmes to life, a character he personified. He designed and had built 47 unique wooden doors with each lock differing. He had installed secret passageways, mirrors to observe his guests unseen, edifices for his large menagerie of cats, and fascinating use of flooring materials used on walls to soundproof the entire steel-reinforced structure. Innovative and way ahead of his time, features such as radiated heat (including a heated bed), and electricity using wooden switches! Check out the world class art gallery, prized artwork hand picked by Gillette to support the up and coming artists of his day. Enjoy the grounds as well, see where his private Underground Railroad was hosed, and catch a play in the outdoor theater. Warning: steps and stairs are not for the feint of heart. Also, no visible public restroom at the castle; you have to go to the visitor’s building which has a modest gift shop. Ample parking lot by visitor’s building. Bring your walking shoes and add a trail to your itinerary.

Lovely drive to the park. Tickets are in 15-minute increments. We were a party of 3 and the next available time was 45 minutes away. Perfect amount of time to watch the movie about Mr Gillette and look through the artifacts. Concession stand is closed, pack snacks or a picnic lunch. Tour is well organized and they keep people moving but not hurried. I grew up in Connecticut but had never been to the house. It was a great day trip!

One of the best historical tours I've ever been on (and I've been on a lot)! So much rich history and too many stories to tell in just a 1-hour tour. The property is well kept, and the house is restored to as much genuine detail as could be. Plenty of parking, folding chairs in each room for those who cannot stand for long periods of time, and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Tour tickets are a bit pricey but definitely worth it! No photography allowed inside the house, so get ready to take mental snapshots....you won't want to forget!

The Mark Twain House & Museum has a sprawling campus with different exhibits and tours. Plus, if you're a local, they have plenty of ways to visit for free. We did the General House Tour. Beth was our tour guide, and she was fantastic! A five-star guide, and I would highly recommend you request her if you go. She was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about Mark Twain's life, which brought everything to life on the tour. I particularly enjoyed how she covered the real story of who he was: the good, bad, and ugly. She was very kind and patient with our 3-year-old niece who was on the tour, and helped get her involved. The house is pretty cool (I wouldn't recommend for young kids though... or adults with severe ADD). I'm not a big fan of Mark Twain, on account of him being negative after his visit to the great state of Utah, but coming to this museum helped me realize he was kind of just a jerk to and about everyone. The gift store might be the real highlight. There are some great gems here (I featured some favorites). A vibe I got from some of the employees was they were super passionate about history and Mark Twain's life, but having visitors to the museum was a necessary evil. That was from some, but not all, which is a fun irony since Mark Twain probably felt and acted the same way. I chalked it up as creating an immersive experience. If you like Mark Twain, history, or architecture, definitely plan your visit.

Immaculatly restored historic home where Mark Twain and his family resided for 17 years. Parking, the museum, gift shop, cafe and grounds are all free to check out. There are only guided tours of the inside and there are no photos or videos allowed of the inside. We purchased tickets ahead on line. The regular tour lasts about 1 hour. The home is absolutely gorgeous and the history fascinating. You do not need to be a literary genius or even a fan of the author to appreciate the history of this home and the family.

Great experience. It's a must for any literature, architecture, or Victorian fan. The house is stunning, and the stories and fantastic. No photos allowed in the house! Makes the experience more memorable to be honest. One of the great quoted figures of all time.

Absolutely AMAZING. Alex. Our tour tour guide, was informative and humorous. If you're a Mark Twain fan, it's truly a necessary stop, because it's the only home that Twain truly thought of as his. He said about the house, "To us, our house was not unsentient matter—it had a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with; and approvals and solicitudes and deep sympathies; it was of us, and we were in its confidence, and lived in its grace and in the peace of its benediction." It was so cool to see where he worked, played with his kids, spent time entertaining, and lived for so many years. Note for those who have mobility issues: there are a lot of steps to climb. If you're unable to climb stairs they will only be able to accommodate you on the first floor and then you'll have to exit the tour.

When I was young I used to read a lot of books and some of those were by Mark Twain. It is a wonderful place where you can see it originally from creation and see the atmosphere where author was built it. Nice architecture and magic in the air.

Great experience visiting this museum. Olivia the tour guide portrayed herself as “Susy Clemens” one of Mark Twains daughters, she did an excellent job, i felt that i was in the presence of Susy herself. She knew a lot of the history and took us back in time.. If anyone is planing to visit the museum, it’s worth spending the little extra fee to have the experience, i highly recommend Olivia as the tour guide, you will learn a lot and she will make you laugh.. The house is beautiful, has so much details and is well maintained.. Simply a great experience!

One of a kind park with camping and exquisite beaches, and best of all CT car plates get in for free. Their little museum is full of live animals too, so cool! The hiking trail at the very end is the gem though, beyond words how beautiful!

The water was nice and warm very clear path on beach even with clutter of other guests. There are changing rooms in rinsing off stations as you exit the beach plus a small little bistro quick grab snacks. Plenty of parking spaces with multiple lots available plus there is a shuttle service offered for the campers

This was a busy beach when we went on a Saturday afternoon. There were a lot of people sunbathing but nobody in the water that day. They have clean restrooms with a large covered pavilion. You can also walk on the trails along the beach. I was told by a close friend that the lagoon across the beach is a great place for bird watching too. There were a lot of birds flying around when we were there.

The beach is very clean and tidy. It is also good for family to go there and picnic. There is a good beach, spending time on the beach is also a nice way to spend time. There is a good trail along the beach which goes to a height from where the view of the beach is nice.

Best Ct Beach! I love how big it is. I always find a quiet spot. There is an awesome linear trail to walk also. I take a break from sitting too long on the beach & walk the boardwalk to the beautiful nature center. The wildlife here is simply amazing. I also camped here for many years in my life. Everyone is so friendly. There are beach pavilions also. They have rest rooms, changing rooms & showers. The view from the beach is stunning. There are many fantastic places to eat right on Rt 1, down the street, from american, seafood to italian & McDonalds. Everything is very close by. I now live in Florida, but every time I visit my family in Ct. This is my absolute favorite, go-to beach for EVERY season.

Hammonasset Beach 🌊 Another sea shore new to me today, Hammonasset Beach of Madison, Connecticut. Beautiful and expansive… Along the shore I wandered today, coming to a few spaces to pause in admiration of the ocean 🌊 so vast. Sitting by the water 💦 one of these times for about an hour, she gave me a sea shell 🐚 that she asked me to bring along with me. This has been another space I have been meaningfully guided to. The land, water, and I shared LOVE with each other. ♥️ A lovely experience at this beach are the dunes with sandy paths running through them as part of many access points to the beach. I really enjoyed wandering through here too coming to plant 🌱 friends I so appreciate…the Roses of the beach, of course, along with Red Pine, Juniper, Honeysuckle, Goldenrod, St. John’s Wort, Mullein…

Absolutely gorgeous! My kids had a ball! Tide was low while we were there so they went out pretty far. Not too rocky or shelly. We'll definitely be back again before summer ends!

This is a good spot to spend a day in the summer - the park is a very manageable size to walk around and they have a handful of good attractions. Boulder dash is by far the most impressive coaster! If you have a season pass you bought online that you need to redeem for a physical card, or if you want to redeem a bring a buddy ticket, be prepared to wait 30-60 minutes at guest services. The line moved incredibly slow and was by far the longest line we waited in all day. The other big negative was what a huge rip off the dole whip is at the Main Gate Creamery - the “Large cup” is $9, we received the smallest cups of dole whip plopped into a tiny saucer. The employee working there also seemed like he had better things to do than serve 2 cups of dole whip. The employees at the parking area, guest services, and the rides, were all wonderful and very welcoming/inviting. The park was very clean and the Main Street area was very bright and vibrant. They added wait time signs at the entrance of each ride which is a nice touch and gives you an idea of how long you’ll wait in line so you can plan accordingly. It is the oldest theme park in America, but it has a nice charm to it and they’ve done an incredible job maintaining the park throughout the years. Parking is easy and they have a huge lot very close to the park - less than 5 minutes from the exit to our car.

Wow, this place is amazing, Six Flags just lost a season pass holder, my family and I plan to come here going forward. Everything was just better, less chaotic and cheaper(way!) We just took the little one this trip, plenty of rides for her, the adult rides looked awesome, we'll be back to ride those, no doubt. The food offerings seemed adequate and plenty of choices. We did not eat this time, not because we didn't like anything, we just arrived after a late breakfast, skipped lunch and had dinner off park. The water park, oh my goodness, included with admission, totally worth that price alone. It was so hot, this was a HUGE relief! All in all, this place is perfect for my family and over the next few Summers we're going to get more aquatinted for sure! This IS a 5 Star Amusement Park!

Got done with lake compounce, was a fun outing with me and one of my partners. Overall we give the park a B. The employees provide great Customer service, friendly & engaging. Food was standard fare but there were options that were cost effective as well as Some interesting seasonal options. That said the parking directions ended up having us circling needlessly, and the road needs to be finished paved ASAP. If possible they really need to invest in more signage in the area. The other major detriment was the yellow jackets. They were everywhere in particular any drinking fountain or seated area. It was challenging to avoid especially when eating. We came for the haunted houses and reviewed them in the photos. Overall the rides were enjoyable though some showed notable wear and tear. In one of the game bakers stands the plushies were noticibly moldy which was concerning (though the employee said those ones are not given to guests "Display only")

I haven’t been to Lake Compounce in years! From the parking attendants to the maintenance person every staff person was very friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful day and I advise purchasing as much as you can online. It definitely helped. *The refillable cups are definitely worth every penny! Oh and the water park…Crocodile Cove is so much fun!

We chose a nice weather day, it wasn't too hot, so it was ideal for all the walking. Some lines were very long and needless to say, the water park area was very crowded. We got there a little after 11a and it took us about 15 minutes to get to the line to pay to get into the park, so pack your patience. And if you haven't been there in a while, please purchase your tickets on line, it's a lot more convenient. And they are cashless. But overall, the kiddos had a great time at the water park.

Took my 4 year old and 20 month daughters! They had a great time at the water park and also on the rides. Visited on a Monday so it didn’t feel crowded, water park was clean and lifeguards were doing a magnificent job! Food was also very good! Definitely coming back!

Oh my gosh,I had the best time in the world here!!felt like a kid again,clean surroundings, water rides, helps cool you down when you get hot,there's a huge variety of games ,rides and even beach!!Plenty of spaces to sit and take a break under the shade or under a canopy,umbrella or sun...whatever you wish for. Free unlimited iced water and varieties of fountain sodas. The bathrooms are very clean and the staff friendly and responsive. We were 3 adults and 2 kids(8 &5) + all day parking =$207 total $36/person, 27 for parking. We brought our own pizza ,refreshments and snacks so we didn't have to spend more than we already had to enter. I actually think we adults had as much fun or more fun than the kids,lol. We got there right after they opened at 11.30am,left at 8.15pm and we still hadn't gone on all the rides!we have to go back!we had the time of our lives and I highly recommend this place to all families,groups and couples, there's something for everyone and all ages. What a day!!

A fabulous place to go. We have been going here over 25 years since they opened. . Make sure to catch the sea lion show and beautiful butterfly exhibit! We finally got to do the boat ride which was so amazing The boat gets beached at a beach historical habitat. On the way back it was hands on learning from our wonderful guide ( I think his name was Lincoln) . who lets you touch all the creatures found in the waters there. Very informative and good for kids and families . FYI. It’s about 1 and 1/2 hours. Bathroom on board. Shout out also to the captain of the boat. Some libraries have discount tickets.

The aquarium is the perfect getaway for part of your trip. Take your time walking around and review the map. We loved the outdoor area but of course very hot outside.

Family friendly fun. Food court is affordable. There are tons of activities to fill the day. There is a shuttle bus that will take you from the parking lot to the aquarium main entrance. I didn't know that so I'm letting everyone else know

Excellent aquarium! So much to see and wonderful! The butterfly place is really cool. They have tons of cool fish and setup very nicely. Been there Any times and will go back again.

First I have to say. I think maybe the seals was the main attraction of the whole place. Unfortunately they was on vacation the day I went.  In my opinion the admissions was not worth it. The reptiles had the worst habitat . It's was dark. Poor lighting and no sun. Everything was artificial made even the so called wood. The birds had no room to fly. The owl poor thing can't fly like she wants. The monkeys also in the dark. The sting rays and turtles and shark tank was cool.  Reminds me how the Brooklyn zoo was manage about 30 years ago. Poorly. I'll stick with the aquarium in Coney Island. U can see where your admission money goes. It's a shame , so many rich ppl out in long Island and don't support there local aquarium.  I'm so glad I didn't bring my children.  Oh oh the tornado booth. Don't spend you $2 on it. I have a hand held blower that is more stronger wind then that booth.  Just a blow dryer on low. I was duked. Lol I try to get my money back but they said¯\_(ツ)_/¯.  The shuttle ride was almost nice. I have not visited the Long Island Aquarium in many years. We did have a enjoyable weekday visit. Looking forward to bringing my grandchildren here

I went to the aquarium with my wife today. We paid for the bug encounter and the entomologist who helped us, Jared, was extremely friendly, answered any questions we had and made the experience memorable for the both of us. Give him a raise! Watching the seal feeding and the shark feeding were both a lot of fun, walking through the butterfly garden was a magical moment for us, and getting to touch the rays and the sharks in the touch tank near the entrance was also an experience we won't soon forget. The park wasn't super crowded, likely due to the fact that it was a weekday, and we had a great time just walking around and taking in the exhibits. We definitely plan to come back in a few years when our son is an older toddler and do one of the children's encounters.

Amazing art museum in New Haven, CT. Beautiful old building melded with a modern addition. 4+ floors of art, from ancient artifacts and sculptures to modern and contemporary pieces. And it's free to enter! Everyone working there were pleasant and informative.

This place is a must-visit. I love the rich history of the building itself it adds so much character to the experience. The collection they have is incredible! Lots to look at and read about. I ended up getting a bit lost in the building which just adds to the adventure! A wonderful place to walk around and feel inspired!

Amazing, amazing museum. I was totally in awe with the extensive collection particularly of modern art and Asian art. It speaks volumes of Yale’s education that showing students the original works of art was important. I was also impressed that many of the alumni donated their famous paintings rather than selling them at auction, a testament to the intellect of Yale alumni. Finally, the art work is so beautifully, impeccably displayed - hats off to the curators. This is the crown jewel of the University!!! A must visit for art lovers

A great gallery and museum that covers a variety of art collections from various periods of human history. The information notes are insightful and add depth to the experience. I ‘d recommend a whole day if one prefers to immense oneself in learning of the art and histories, but half day will also do for a quick walkthrough. Can’t believe that it is free and my respect goes to the beneficiaries. And I found my favorite sentence about art in this gallery. “Art is man’s distinctly human way of fighting death.”

If you visit it without kids, it's one of the best art museums. But, If you visit with your kids, it's one of the worst. Like every art museum, the experience depends on how you visit. Obviously, it's not a family-friendly museum (for families with kids). The collection is surprisingly vast, with everything from ancient artifacts to modern masterpieces. The space is beautifully designed, and best of all, admission is free. It's a must-visit spot in New Haven for art lovers or anyone looking for inspiration.

It’s a truly wonderful art museum with an incredibly rich collection. I really enjoyed it — from classical to modern, you can find works by almost every painter, sculptor, and installation artist you can think of. While I was exploring the exhibits, I noticed a large parade happening on the street outside… It was massive, and it took more than an hour just to pass by the entrance.

Such a great little zoo. I feel the size is perfect. The otters, spider monkeys and the red panda was super cool! $20 for adults and they have a carousel. You could do a picnic there. They do offer foods there too. We didn’t buy tickets ahead of time. No issues buying it there.

We had a fantastic time today at Connecticut's Beardsley zoo. We took our 2 year old grandson and he had a ball. Lots and lots of animals to see. It was not that crowded and we brought lunch and had picnic at the zoo. We also went for a nice Carousel Ride which was very pleasant. Plenty of parking and lots of staff around, this was a great day and I highly recommend this trip.

I brought my kiddos and had a great time there were so many cool lanterns to see. Some animatronic and some still. All the Colors were vibrant and we had many favs. Was able to easily park and view all displays with no over crowding. I wish there were small bites to eat, if there was we missed it.

We had such a nice time visiting this zoo! It’s on the smaller side, but they have a descent variety of animals — enough to keep everyone interested without feeling overwhelming. You can see everything in about 60-90 minutes, which makes it perfect for little ones with shorter attention spans. If you’re looking for a relaxed day out where kids can see some favorite animals up close without huge crowds or tons of walking, this zoo is a great choice. Definitely worth a visit!

I went to the Glow Wild Lantern Festival. The lanterns were great, and the music playing throughout was calming. Go close to sunset maybe 6:00 so you can park close. It is kid friendly.

I have been to this place many times with my son. This time was during the Glow Lantern Festival they have been doing. What a vibrant, magical display. It was a wonderful experience with some animal encounters that really made this visit more exciting.

I visited the Beardsley Zoo with my younger brother and sister in law in October 12th 2025. At about 2:30 pm my insulin pump started beeping, my sugar was starting to drop. My brother stayed behind at one of the exhibits while my sister and law and I walked to the cafe to get a snack and continue our visit. As we entered from the chilly rain I saw an ice cream cooler, and headed straight for it to choose an ice cream to get my sugar back up. As I was trying to decide what cold treat I would choose one of the employees said it was way too cold for ice cream and suggested their fresh made cookies. It didn’t take much convincing, and I chose the M&M cookies, but when we went to pay(also $1.50 for 2 homemade cookies is amazing!!) we realized we had forgotten the wallet with my brother. My sister in law began walking towards the door to go get her wallet and come back to pay, and the woman who had suggested the cookies said not to worry about it, that I needed the cookies for my sugar and to enjoy the rest of my day. After eating some of the best cookies ever, my sugar still wasn’t cooperating. We made our way back to the cafe, with my brother this time. I ordered a soda and my brother wanted a pretzel, but they didn’t have any. The same woman who gave me the cookies offered to have the ovens turned back on and fresh pretzels made just for him, and she made sure to check in with me to make sure I was feeling alright. I never did get this amazing ladies name, but I hope she sees this review, and she knows that her kindness and compassion will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for being such a wonderful person in a (sorta) scary situation.

A smooth sail and ferry process. Cost is reasonable and you save upto 3-4 hours, so it is worth it. 1st and 2nd floor are for cars / trucks / big trucks, a snack shop is on third floor, and fourth floor is the open area hangout place to enjoy the sail and views. My travel eve: The weather was just perfect, smooth water and no wind gusts. So a perfect day. Highly recomeded.

The boats are old, dirty, and gross, but the food is decent. They need to redo the fleet the way CrossSound Ferry in the east end has done. The windows are so covered in filth that you can't even see out of them clearly. Very disappointing.

Easier than driving, just get there early if you want a table, food served in the house as well as on the vessel. Safe, low stress way to travel to Bridge Port and Port Jefferson.

Great way off Long Island without going through NYC traffic and the insane Citiots that drive like nothing matters especially for a motorcycle. Either Port Jeff or Orient both great ways to get off the island. Boats are climate controlled, clean, food and drink are served. Staff is nice unless you fail to listen to their directions (LOL, seen it). Cars should make reservations online in advance. Motorcycles can drive up and purchase tickets at the booth.. they always have been able to fit me in.

The ride was sooooo peaceful,but once you get off the boat everything is closed I had to take the city bus to the mall

It’s time to revamp the fleet. The boats are so old, gross and need of an update. The orient ferries are so much better. These ferries must be from the 80s and haven’t been updates since. Come on. Do better

We arrived early and left the car to sit outside on their deck, watching the ferry come in at 5 pm. The trip was uneventful and pleasant. People sat in the bar lounge and outside on the top deck.

We stopped here on a trip back from seeing family. I’ve been to many aquariums and this one was pretty awesome and ranks highly for me. Many touch tanks for the kids, stingrays, baby horseshoe crabs, etc. I liked the sea turtles and the jelly room was cool too. A lot of animals and fish I’ve never seen before. Lots of cool turtles and tortoises too. Parking was easy at the garage and was only $6. Those chicken tenders hit hard too! Good at the cafe was the best museum food I’ve had.

First time visiting. Very large, not too crowded when we entered right on 10am. I purchased tickets ahead of time in case there are many visitors. Sharks and other ocean animals were exhibited in clean water. We had some “touch and feel” experiences. They have water and soap on the side so kids can get clean after that. My son loved it!

We were there 3 hours and it wasn't enough. My kids loved it. I worked as an educator here years ago, and it was so fun to share with my kiddos. We will be back! Most of the exhibits and wildlife are local from the long Island sound. Our local flora and fauna are very interesting and worth protecting.

Definitely one of the best aquariums we’ve been too and we’re from Florida. Bit pricey but so is everything in the Norwalk area. Great exhibits, lots of interactive exhibits/things to do for kids. My 2yr old had a blast. He loved the seal feeding, sharks, touch tanks and jellyfish. Animals look healthy and tanks are clean. The facility and food court was also very clean. Gift shop isn’t too bad overpriced. Surprisingly good food in the cafeteria with healthy options.

The Aquarium is bigger than I thought it was going to be. It has an extensive collection of different varieties of jellyfish. Several touch tanks for the kids and many displays of local and tropical fish. They do have some other animals and owls on display in one of the wings that seemed a little random but other than that overall a very impressive experience.

We had a wonderful time at The Maritime Aquarium! It’s the perfect size—not too big, not too small—which made it very manageable with young kids. My children had a great time exploring all the exhibits, especially the fish, seals, baby crocodile, and even sharks! We bought our tickets online, which made entry super easy and hassle-free. There’s a nice kids’ play area inside, complete with stroller parking nearby, which was super convenient. Strollers are allowed throughout the aquarium, making it easy to get around with little ones. We arrived in the afternoon and had no trouble finding parking. Although we took Exit 5 to grab lunch, we noticed there were food carts just outside the aquarium, which is a great option if you want something quick and easy. There are also snacks available inside. The 4D theater was a cool experience—my kids are still a bit too young to enjoy the 4D glasses, but we loved it! I think older kids would really enjoy that part. Right next to the aquarium is a lovely waterfront area where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the view. There’s also a train bridge nearby. My little boys were thrilled to spot trains going by in the distance—it was a fun surprise for them! We spent about 2–3 hours here, which felt just right. Overall, it’s a family-friendly, easygoing place that offers both fun and learning. Highly recommended for families with young children!

We went here on a weekend and it was best place to spend your afternoon. The aquarium is easy to navigate. We were able to see the seal feeding and touch certain type of fishes. It is a cool thing to do with your friends, family and kids. They have sharks, huge turtles, seals, jellyfish…..

One of the best Historical place to visit with family. My 14 & 7 years old loved the place and This .7 mile loop trail winds through a 34-acre Oak-Tulip-Hickory forest bordering a salt marsh and beach on Cold Spring Harbor. Highly recommended to visit Sagamore Hill National Historic Site.

Visited the historic home of President Theodore Roosevelt today! The house is not only a glimpse into his life, but the surrounding area is absolutely stunning. If you’re ever in the area, this is definitely a must-see

We took a driving tour of the north shore of Long Island and one of the main stops was Sagamore Hill. Just saw a great documentary on Teddy so we had to come here. Unfortunately the house was closed but we spent an hour walking around the house and property. Very nice setting. House is very large but not too fancy.

This was a place on my bucket list. The property is really nice. Since the government is closed we couldnt your the mansion or Museum on the property. They have nature walks on the property that was amazing that brings you to a long dock to the beach on Cold Springs Harbor. So much to see from a bygone era. One thing was disappointing was the lack of opulence being a very wealthy family. The other the lawns not mowed and no formal gardens. The lawn could be because of the government shutdown.

I recently visited Sagamore Hill and was thoroughly impressed it’s a perfect blend of history, nature, and peaceful reflection. Here’s what stood out: I loved touring the home of Theodore Roosevelt is a unique experience. The house is beautifully preserved and gives you a real sense of how Roosevelt worked and lived. I also enjoyed the nature trail which lead tit he water. It made me think of what our guide mentioned about how Rosevelt would take the children out on a walk midday as a break. I’m sure he would have walked this trial with them. It’s a short loop through oak-tulip forest, salt-marsh, and beach offers quiet beauty and wildlife sightings (deer, birds, etc.).  Parking was easy and there was plenty of space; the area doesn’t feel over-crowded, which allowed for a calm, enjoyable visit.  I appreciated how the site balances natural scenery with a rich meaningful history. Oh and don’t forget the museum, it’s full of great information and engaging. Loved it. Tips: Bring a snack or lunch: the picnic area is nice, but the on-site options are limited.  Wear comfortable shoes for the easy trail.  Reserve the guided house tours and plan your time accordingly. We didn’t have a reservation so we waiting for no shows. It was risky, but we were able to see the home thanks for a rainy day. One more tip, sit in the rockers in the porch and just let some time pass, it’s so peaceful. Sagamore Hill is a fantastic place to visit, It feels thoughtful, peaceful, and well maintained. I’d highly recommend a visit.

My kid (6yrs old) and I was reading the book “who was Theodore Roosevelt” and learnt he was from Oyster Bay, New York. One Sunday my son asked if we could visit Sagamore Hill to see Theodore Roosevelt’s house National Historic site. The drive to Sagamore Hills was breathtaking with beautiful fall colors in October. We reached the site around 5pm right before the sunset and the view from the house was beautiful. We took some pictures and our kids loved reading photographs about Theodore Roosevelt’s home and all the landscape around it. The place was well kept and very informative for kids to learn about some history about the site. It is a nice place to visit, explore and for trail walk.

Definitely, a place to visit. While it is the United States Military Academy, it is full of history and a very scenic place sitting above the. Hudson River. The museum is free, and you can walk around, but they do offer a bus tour.

Loved the Visitor's Center. I came after booking a bus tour. While waiting for the tour to start, I started walking through the visitor's center but only got a few rooms in and I had noticed 30 minutes had flown by. I returned later after the tour and finished the visitor's center, which took me about an hour to complete. The visitor's center has a ton of modern and interesting exhibits about West Point, its history and the academy's 4-year curriculum, which I found very interesting. I was thrilled to learn of what the cadets go through, from their first day through graduation. There are a few interactive exhibits including two movie rooms. I also found out that the visitor's center and neighboring museum are both completely free! You do not need to book any tour or obtain a pass to visit these buildings. Currently, masks are required in both buildings at all time. I highly recommend the visitor's center, museum and bus tour ($18 ish) to everyone of all ages.

The Visitors Center is lovely, with clean restrooms and an extensive gift shop. The highlight for us was "The West Point Experience." It was an impressive exhibit. It started with a short movie covering the history of West Point and an overview of its mission and focus. We then walked through the interactive, multi-media section which again touched on the history of the institution, and then went into detail about the 47 month long journey of a cadet at West Point. Well worth the time, and it's free!

Modern, new visitor center that gives you a taste of the cadet's life. Can't wait for the museum to be opened again though.

Exactly what you would expect from our service academies. Fast, efficient, fun, informative experience. Loved the tour and we learned a few things along the way.

Great experience at the Kykuit Highlights Tour. This tour is about 1.5 hours and covers the first floor of the estate and outside. There are other (longer) tours that include more of the estate if you like. All tours leave from the Visitor's Center. There is a large parking lot there...but there is also some overflow parking around the corner ii needed. The overflow lot is a short walk to the Visitor's Center. The center has a large shop with lots of gifts and souvenirs. There are also some snacks and bakery-items (coffee, tea, pastries) available for purchase. There are bathrooms and the ticketing area. You check in at the ticketing area and are given a hand band. A bus (very nice and comfy) will take the tour guests from the visitor's center to the estate...the ride is about 10 minutes. The tour guide will also be on the bus offering some information throughout the ride, including information on the structures and facilities within the larger estate as you pass those by. The tour itself was great...but I can see some may want to visit the other floors of the estate, which is only included in the longer tours. Lots of information throughout the tour. They do keep the schedule pretty tight though as I noticed our tour guide checking the schedule regularly to determine how much time to spend at each room. I understand this is crucial in order to accommodate the various timed tours but it does leave little room for asking questions and some of it felt a little rushed. Photography is ONLY permitted outside of the estate. You cannot take photos inside the estate. You are taken back to the visitor's center when the tour it completed. Overall I had a great visit. I would love to return to view some of the other offerings...such as the Philipsburg Manor. All staff I encountered were friendly and helpful.

This is a very good place to visit as it is a former summer retreat of John D. Rockefeller who was first American billionaire and the founder of Standard Oil. Well maintained and a great location with awesome views. However the "classic tour" does not let you see the whole house as the upstairs of the property is still private area owned by the Rockefeller family. The tour was about 2 hour and they took the group onto a bus ride from the ticket place to the Kykuit estate house.

The tour is quite extensive and the tour guide is knowledgeable about the Rockefeller family and the many many art pieces in the home and grounds. The tour includes first floor, massive grounds, basement art gallery, and carriage garages. Parking was at Phillipsburg mansion and then take a shuttle to the mansion. Be early as the shuttle does leave at the ticket time and it was quite busy.

We did the Grand tour. Our guide, Dana, was very knowledgeable about the house and gardens. It was a drizzly day so we didn't get as much outside but additional spots were added on the inside. There are a lot of stairs. It is always fascinating learning about people from the past.

We did the standard tour which is about two hours start to finish from the visitor center at Philipsburg manor. A few things to note: You CAN have water in a sealed container, but you may not drink it inside the house. All bags will be checked before entering the main house. Photography is only allowed outside of the house on the grounds. We’ve made it a habit to take our visiting family to historic estates we have yet to visit and this weekend it was Kykuit. While the house itself is impressive, it’s complimented by the various artworks and sculptures placed throughout inside and the grounds. The two hour tour gives you a nice tour of the main floor of the house, the main grounds, and the art galleries in the basement. Then, you get a peak inside the carriage house to view the collection of classic buggies, carriages, and cars. You start at Philipsburg Manor Visitor Center and they shuttle you to the house and back. There are several moments throughout the tour that offer spots to sit for those in need.

The Rockefeller mansion. Kykuit, is an estate to behold, the bus ride up from Sleepy Hollow is fun. The house is spectacular as are the grounds. The home has a variety of different tours, with different price points. I learnt so much from this tour: Stunning views, exquisite art work: it’s nice to learn about people who’ve built America. You have to buy tickets to see this place. I was amazed that the outdoor - an orange flams and railings were made by Tiffany. Very meticulously maintained. Loved the gift shop too.

Visiting The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City was an absolutely unforgettable experience! We had the morning free before flying home and wanted to visit somewhere new to us. You could actually spend the whole day in this magnificent museum. It's structurally beautiful as well as having displays that are truly impressive. The Egyptian items were outstanding, the burial items, jewellery and finds took our breath away. The wall paintings on the burial building were spectacular. Also the photograph of the wooden replica boats all broken and then repaired and on display were incredible. They all had a black bob hairstyle! The Greek section was fabulous as was the Asian. The African panels on the ceiling, totem poles, tribal costumes and carvings were beautifully painted and definitely a favourite of ours. The Japanese garden was quiet and a place of calm and very much represented the culture. We had a quick stop at the cafe, the queue went down fairly quickly and people were constantly moving so tables became available. This museum turned into a highlight of our trip and I have already told friends to put it on their to do list when visiting New York.

⭐️ Incredible World-Class Museum in the Heart of NYC. I visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art and bought my ticket at the entrance. It was busy with tourists, but once you step inside the galleries the museum is so huge that the crowds spread out quickly. The exhibits are absolutely incredible — Egyptian mummies, sarcophagi, medieval knights, full suits of armor, ancient weapons, paintings, sculptures, musical instruments, and so much more. The collection is massive and honestly mind-blowing. At some point we were so tired from walking that we had to stop, because this place is endless. It really feels like stepping into ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, and world history all inside Manhattan. There are clean restrooms, plenty of places to rest, and a nice gift shop on the way out. A must-visit NYC museum. Highly recommended! 📸🇺🇸

I haven’t been to the MET ever since coming back from the army. I used to go all the time, especially when they would have new exhibits in the museum. What made me go in the first place was because I’m writing an essay on art for my art history class. I wanted to share so of the photos that I took on my journey.

Man Ray exhibit was fantastic. Ancient Egypt was also very cool. So big, impossible to see all in 1 visit. upstairs musical instruments room was awesome and the armor and swords too. loved the big open natural light room where the Egyptian tomb was. Really great place.

The Met in NYC is one of those rare places that somehow exceeds the hype. The moment you walk in, you feel the weight of history, culture, and artistry from every corner of the world. The collection is massive — truly something for everyone — but it never feels overwhelming. Every gallery is intentional, beautifully curated, and full of details that pull you in. What I appreciated most was how easy it was to get lost in time. One minute you’re in ancient Egypt, the next you’re staring at a Van Gogh that stops you in your tracks. The staff is friendly, the layout is intuitive, and the entire experience feels like stepping into a different world for a few hours. If you’re in NYC, this is a non-negotiable stop. It’s not just a museum — it’s an experience you carry with you long after you leave.

Carved out 3 hours and still barely got through maybe a half(if even that) of the museum. The staff there was great and the student discount of 17$ was pretty great, and I think it’s awesome that New York residents and local students only pay if they want to, that’s a cool perk. One thing is, at times it definitely felt like a maze getting through the galleries.

Central Park in the Fall — Absolutely Magical! Visiting Central Park in autumn was better than I ever imagined. The colors, the crisp air, the skyline peeking through the trees — it felt straight out of a movie, only real. The park is wonderfully kid-friendly and dog-friendly, full of families, friendly faces, and space to explore. From the winding paths to the shimmering ponds and quiet lakes, every corner is breathtaking. The city views are stunning, and everyone we met was kind and welcoming. Truly one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve ever experienced.

Central Park is the most beautiful place in New York! Perfect for photoshoots, horse rides, and boating on the lake. It’s also one of the best romantic spots for a date. Everywhere you go, you can hear live music, which adds such a magical atmosphere. I love visiting in any season — spring with blooming trees and fall with falling leaves are my favorites. A truly unique place you can’t find anywhere else in the world!

Central Park is an incredible place — a true green oasis in the heart of New York City’s concrete jungle. It surrounds you with peace and nature, making you forget you’re in one of the busiest cities in the world. Perfect for a walk, a picnic, or simply to sit and breathe in the calm beauty of the park.

After the watching the 'Stranger Things: The First Shadow' Broadway show at the Marquis Theatre on W46th St & 7th Ave, we walked the 0.7 miles up 7th Ave to the Central Park entrance at W59th St where I had my first NYC Hotdog from the Nathan's Hotdog stand. It was very tasty if a tad small for $6. We only walked in a very small section of the vast 843 acres, 2.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide park, from the W59th St & 7Ave entrance to the Model Sailing Boat Lake and could have spent several days explore the different sections of this vast beautiful space, which is enjoyed daily by some many local New Yorkers and tourists. There were lots of people relaxing on the grass, walking, jogging, running, cycling & rollerblading through the park, together with rickshaws and horse drawn carriages carrying their passengers on the one directional circular road running around inside the park. We stopped off at the Le Pain Quotidien kiosk next to the Model Boating Lake for hot drinks & pastries at one of the tables, enjoying the late evening sunshine whilst watching people going by and children sailing their rented remote controlled model boats in the lake. There are public male & female toilets either side of the kiosk and a table service section for a selection of food & drinks. It wasn't too busy when we were there around 6pm on a Saturday evening and it was the perfect place to sit down, take a break, relax and watch the world go by in Central Park whilst enjoying a drink. We were fortunate to be there to listen to the famous Central Park guitar man, David Ippolito, playing some beautiful guitar music from across the boating lake opposite our table, in his regular Saturday slot. On our walk to the Model Boating Lake we passed the 1,800 seat open air Delacorte amphitheater inside the park, where free public shows of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' were being performed. My wife is a big fan of Shakespeare's plays and would have loved to have gone to see the play. However, as the vast majority of tickets were allocated via lottery to NYC residents we would have had to queue up in person in a standby line outside the theatre on the day, in the hope of getting one of these few ticket allocations and I didn't like Shakespeare enough to do that. As it was such beautiful warm late summer we decided to walk the 2.2 miles down Lexington Ave, from the park at 74th St down to our hotel at 36th St. Although it took a lot longer than taking the subway we really enjoyed seeing more of the city on foot.

I had never seen such a huge park in the city area. Spread across 800+ acres, this park has a lot of beautiful places to visit. We went to Bethesda terrace as our first spot here and it’s really worth visiting. Great spots to visit, sit, relax, run and click pictures. Loved the bow bridge. Must visit and highly recommended.

Central Park is absolutely beautiful !!! it’s hard to believe a place this big and peaceful exists right in the middle of the city. I loved exploring Belvedere Castle and Bethesda Fountain, and seeing all the iconic spots in person felt so special. Such a perfect place to just wander, relax, and take in the city from a completely different perspective.

Finally, on my 5th trip to NYC we did Rockafella Centre instead of Empire State. What a great experience. Great views of the NYC skyline which includes the Empire State. The Beam was so worth it as well. Great views out towards Central Park. Could have stayed up there for even more hours. Nice little cafe/bar with terrace area to sit and chill while admiring the views.

We visited Top of the Rock and were absolutely amazed! The view of New York is stunning — especially the Empire State Building and the Manhattan skyline. The entry was quick and well-organized with minimal waiting time. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy the city vibe, take incredible photos, and soak in the views. Visiting Top of the Rock was such an incredible experience! The views of New York City are absolutely breathtaking. The elevators are fast and the observation decks are very well organized, making it easy to enjoy the sights without feeling crowded. Definitely a must-visit

Top of the Rock was fantastic — much quieter than the Empire State Building, which made the experience way more enjoyable. The views to the north are incredible, especially over Central Park. You also get a perfect view of the Empire State Building, which you obviously can’t get if you’re standing on it! Highly recommend going around sunset for the best light.

Even in drizzling rain this was an enjoyable experience. We actually really like the foggy photos we got too! One of the cheaper birds eye view options with two different tourist photo opportunities. Though I usually find those to be cheesy, if it wasn't raining during our trip I could see their unique recreation of the iconic construction photo snapped during the building of the rockafeller center could be super cute/fun and very New York specific, and I may have considered it in better weather.

Loved Top of the Rock! The views are incredible even though you’re not the tallest building in the city. Took almost no time to enter even though it was pretty busy being right around dusk. The night views are the best. Definitely do this on your trip to NYC.

Going for a walk early in the morning feels refreshing and leisurely. The display boards might be more visible if it were a bit darker… but I still prefer the time when daylight is just beginning to break. Even in the early morning, there are a variety of food options like hot dogs and corn dogs.

We finally visited the iconic Times Square and whatever I had heard before about this is not an exaggeration. The vibe, atmosphere and the electronic billboards make this place a very happening one. Lots of shops and eateries near this place. A great crowd every time you visit. But at night after sunset this place becomes more awesome. Must visit and multiple visits are my recommendation.

Even having visited before, I have never felt the city pulse so vibrantly — the crowds, the colors, the laughter, and the chaos all weaving together into a living tapestry that is uniquely New York. There’s a rhythm here, a heartbeat of the city that never sleeps, and on this night, it was louder, wilder, and more exhilarating than ever. Walking through the throngs, catching glimpses of costumes and celebration, and capturing these moments in photos and video made me appreciate the magic of New York in a way words can barely capture. Times Square is not just a place — it’s an experience, a living, breathing canvas of human energy and creativity. Halloween night 2025 will forever remain vivid in my memory as one of the city’s most unforgettable moments.

I love and hate this area at the same time but mostly I love it because the shows are nearby and you can get reduced prices if you wait online and so many food, places and historical places and even the US armed horses recruiting services center and you should definitely walk this area and not drive because you will be stuck in traffic During the day. Enjoy!

Times Square is always an incredible place to be. There’s an energy there that you really can’t find anywhere else. From the street art and performers to the endless flow of people from all over the world, it feels alive every hour of the day. Visiting during the day and coming back at night gives you two completely different experiences. Daytime is vibrant and busy, while nighttime transforms the whole area with bright lights, massive screens, and a unique atmosphere you have to see for yourself. It’s definitely a must-visit spot every time I’m in the city.

We kinda spur of the moment decided to do this, while in NY. So didn't buy tickets in advance, although it wasn't difficult to do so there, as they had computer ordering systems on site to use, we would have been able to see and realize that there is a price difference amongst the different "time slots" and that entry times are set every 15-30mins apart. There is thorough security to get in, and lots of staff around as well. The place was clean, and spacious. The history on your way through was very interesting. The view from the top was really good, we paid extra to go to the 101 floor. And although it wasn't a huge difference from the view of the 85th floor, I'm glad we did it. Defiently recommend visiting the observation deck of the empire state building atleast once. We went up during daylight hours, so I may, someday come back for a night view.

Go see it, you won't regret the time you spend exploring this iconic building. We're from NZ, so this was a bucket list visit and I loved everything about the museum walkthrough, old footage and experiential stuff. Views are phenomenal, breath taking even on a good day like we had. We just looked and looked at the vast expanse of this city and didn't want to leave. So much NY history in the one place, it's worth the entry fee for sure. If you are remotely interested in the Empire State Building you'll love it.

From the 86th floor, the city lights stretch in every direction—Times Square glows, traffic forms ribbons of color, and the skyline looks its best after dark. Crowds are lighter at night, so it’s easier to enjoy the view and take photos without rushing. Overall, the nighttime atmosphere feels calm and memorable. If you want a classic view of Manhattan with less daytime noise, this visit is worth it.

I chose the ESB over the Rock and other viewing platforms for it's historical significance. Built in 1931, in one year and 45 days, featured in many famous movies and recognized around the world. It even has it's own zip code! My first time in NYC so definitely had to go all the way up to the 102nd floor which is completely enclosed so good for cold weather! But you have great views from the 86th floor also which is open air and enclosed. Reservations are required and earlier is less busy.

I found the 86th floor to be pretty adequate for photos.I didn't see a point to go all the way to the top, To be honest. The views are pretty spectacular.You get to take photos from both the eightieth floor and then open air eighty sixth floor. There's lots of museum and stuff to look through before you get up to the elevators, you can either look at it or skip it.It's up to you. Then, at the end, of course, there's a gift shop. I would highly recommend this. I would probably recommend it over some of the other tall buildings because of the history surrounding this one. And it's pretty centrally located, so you can see everything from the eighty sixth floor.

I must say, this is the most magical place on earth, if you go to New York, this is a must. The prices of the tickets are affordable and the experience makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. We went in the evening and seeing the lights of New York was magical. It bought the city to life. The staff were really friendly and the museum part was interesting as it taught you about the Empire State building. Will definitely come back and visit.

One of the great things about traveling to any city is obviously the people that you meet. In my brief visits to New York, though, I've found it difficult to meet and to engage with local folks. On Nov. 12, 2025, I woke up in the morning thinking about how cool it would be to make one great human connection that day. I whispered to the Universe that I’d like that kind of encounter – a chance to get to know the real New York. It turned out that I had been looking for such a connection in the wrong place because I wasn't looking up. That's when my wife (Won-ok) and I decided to tour the Empire State Building. That was one of the things that was on my life bucket list, something that is a quintessentially American experience. When we made it to one of the lookout areas, a very kind woman named Renita greeted us with such warmth that it was overwhelming. Some people just radiate goodness and kindness, and spending time with Renita was the only time that trip that we felt the sun. My aunt happens to have the same name so the name struck a particular chord with me. Renita asked if there is anything that we would like to know. I was a little embarrassed by how little I know about the city. Renita Immediately helped me overcome my sheepishness and began answering questions from me and Won-ok. It didn't take long for one thing to lead to another and for the three of us to find ourselves in a deep, soulful conversation. Renita told us she has been working at the building for many decades. A native New Yorker, she saw the World Trade Center go up – and she witnessed the horror of the towers going down. I learned more about the history and spirit of New York in the moments I spent with her than I did on the entire rest of my trips there combined. Renita is a credit to the Empire State Building and to the city of New York. My wife and I saw a lot of amazing things on that trip but the experience that made the greatest impact on us was Renita -- New York’s ambassador in the sky.

A wonderful use of old elevated train tracks turned into beautiful greenery in the middle of the city. So many different kinds of vegetation and lots of great art to see along the way. We walked about 2 miles of it from The Edge down to Chelsea Market.

The High Line is one of the most unique and enjoyable outdoor experiences in New York City. Built on an elevated historic rail line, it offers a peaceful walkway above the busy streets, with great views of the city and plenty of greenery along the way. It’s a perfect place for a stroll, whether you’re looking to take photos, enjoy the art installations, or just relax in a quieter space. The mix of plants, architecture, and open views of the Hudson River makes it feel both urban and calming at the same time. Depending on how fast you walk, you can explore the whole thing in about 30–60 minutes, making it a great stop that doesn’t take up your whole day. It can get crowded during peak hours, but it’s still a lovely experience overall. A must-visit if you’re in the city and want something scenic, relaxing, and completely free. Lovely for an autumn walk and lots of great photo opportunities. Clean bathrooms. Lots of city views. Surrounded by buildings with unique architecture. Lots of benches and viewing areas, including one where you can watch traffic. Landscaping and sculptures.

This walk is so nice, it's hard to believe it's free (privately funded, donations accepted). We stopped for several minutes to listen to a mockingbird perform his concert! Super clean bathrooms, and there are no pets allowed, so with all the plants, it smells nice too. Not too crowded on weekdays.

The Experience: This is a fantastic spot for a nice walking experience above the city streets. It offers a unique perspective of Manhattan and serves as a great path to get to Hudson Yards, offering a perfect, looming view of The Edge as you approach. Accessibility Note: Be mindful of where you enter. I found the stairs to be very steep at the access point I used. If you have heavy bags or mobility issues, you definitely want to double-check the map for elevator access beforehand, as the stairs can be a workout. Verdict: Despite the climb up, I thoroughly enjoyed the walk. It’s a refreshing break from the traffic below.

This might be the best urban park that I've ever visited! What a great way to meander through the Chelsea neighbourhood with some elevated views of New York City. I imagine it can get extremely busy on a nice day, but its certainly work checking out if you're in the area. Lots of little pockets of space if you want some privacy from all the folks out for a walk.

This exhibit was amazing! Getting to see history. I was in the 6th grade when this event took place and just seeing it now from a different perspective as an adult just hits different. I'll share some photos that I have taken but it is 100% worth the visit. It just opens up so many more questions about where we are now against where we may have been. It also questions perspectives on mindsets these days but I will not get into that here. This place was awesome and I would definitely love to go back during another visit to NY.

I remember looking up at them in awe, thinking about how massive and permanent they seemed — like nothing could ever topple them. At the time, I could never have imagined that I would one day return to the same spot and find that the buildings were gone. When I came back years later to visit the memorial, the feeling was surreal. The area where the towers once stood is now a place of quiet reflection, marked by the enormous, cascading pools set within the footprints of the original buildings. Water flows continuously, creating a soft, mournful sound, while the names of the victims are engraved around the edges. Standing there, it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history, loss, and resilience. The emptiness where the towers once reached toward the sky is both haunting and profoundly moving. Walking around the memorial, I was struck by the contrast between what I remembered and what I saw now. The city has moved forward, new buildings rise around the site, and life in Manhattan continues its relentless pace. Yet the memorial holds a stillness that makes time feel suspended. Every detail — from the endless water, to the engraved names, to the subtle landscaping — is designed to honor what was lost while reminding visitors of the strength and perseverance of those who survived, and the courage of those who came after. Being there, I couldn’t help but reflect on the impermanence of even the most monumental structures. The towers seemed unshakable in my memory, but tragedy and time proved otherwise. The memorial doesn’t try to replace them; it doesn’t try to replicate what was lost. Instead, it invites visitors to pause, remember, and honor. It’s both humbling and healing, a space where grief and respect coexist in a quiet, powerful way. Visiting the 9/11 Memorial is an emotional journey. You leave with a deeper understanding of loss, resilience, and the fragility of even the mightiest human creations. Coming back to a place I once knew so differently, seeing the towers replaced by pools of reflection, reminded me that memory and history are alive — and that remembrance is as important as rebuilding.

Wow wow wow. Months behind on leaving this review, but wanted to be sure to encourage others to visit. This was such a well thought out memorial and museum. Very thorough and respectful to those who perished. It is very moving. To be in the space, looking at the foundation, the energy was palpable. This was agreed way to honor those souls and those who lost their lives saving others. Incredible.

One of the very best museums I've ever been to. Very comprehensive displays tastefully done. Recommend ordering tickets ahead of time for early morning to beat the crowds. Some time slots sell out. The audio device is also highly recommended.

Buy tickets in advance. Allow more time than the recommended 60-90 mins, especially if you are old enough to remember where you were when you heard the news or saw it unfold. Highly moving exhibits bring the victims front and center of your visit, making the experience all the more personal and emotional. Be prepared. However, it is an experience I highly recommend. Those who forget history are bound to repeat it, and this is an event we should never forget.

This museum was the main thing I wanted to do when I visited New York for the first time. Buying my ticket and getting into the museum was easy and organized. The exhibits were well done and organized in a timeline that was easy to follow. There were plenty of staff members to direct people and answer questions as well as a self guided audio tour that was available for purchase. This was a moving experience and I would recommend this to anyone who is able to visit.

Nice park for walking, viewing wildlife. Has a beach area with lifeguards in summer and a marina for boat docking. Some areas have not been restored after superstorm Sandy and some lots and areas are closed off.

Beach Day Bliss: A Perfect Spot for Everyone! I recently visited this beautiful beach, and it truly exceeded expectations. From the moment you arrive, everything is well-organized — there's an entrance fee, ample parking, and a helpful enquiry desk to guide you. The beach is fully accessible, with wheelchair access, clean restrooms, and a shower area to freshen up after a dip in the water. Safety is clearly a priority, with beach guards actively watching over all areas. You’re welcome to bring your own mats, tents, and chairs, but there are also plenty of benches and designated seating areas to relax and take in the view. What really stood out was the lively atmosphere: there are numerous stores for shopping, food courts with a variety of options, and a spacious boardwalk perfect for a stroll. Whether you're with family, kids, or friends, this beach is clean, easy to access, and incredibly relaxing — the perfect spot to enjoy the sun, sea, and some shopping too!

This is one of the first beach and broadwalk that appears along the NJ shoreline after exiting north Jersey. Of course that makes it really popular and crowded destination in summer months. There are lots of parking lots and paid street parkings near the broadwalk. The lots are far more expensive than street parking, so better to go early to find one. The beach area is nice. There’s a $8 entree fee and they do check for the tickets time to time. Rental chairs and umbrellas are available but super expensive, $35 for an umbrella and $15 for each chair. Lifeguards actively monitor the designated areas. The broadwalk is huge. Plenty of shops, restaurants, restrooms, fun activities and a convention hall reside along it. Inside the convention hall, there are more shops, local artisan market, and restaurants. We spent about 6 hours in the area. I found this beach friendly and safe. The food was decent. Restrooms were well maintained too. Overall a really nice place to go for a beach day, but be prepared to spend some, unless you come fully prepared from home.

Gorgeous place. Calm, friendly, clean and not a massive tourist trap. Lovely food spots and shops. You can see that the area is loved and looked after. Highly recommend checking out the the Asbury Angels benches commemorating musicians and those who worked in the industry.

Rated best beach town in the country. Asbury is always a great experience. Nice and quiet family friendly beach. Wide and long boardwalk with plenty of food options and small shops.

Zoos provide an amazing chance to connect with wildlife that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to see without traveling across the world. Most of them do their best to provide habitats that give animals humane treatment and a safe place to roam with as much space as possible. Designed as part of the South Mountain Reservation located in West Orange on just 20 acres, Turtle Back Zoo is managed as part of the Essex County Park System. Tickets were easily gotten by visiting their website for a Saturday visit. Upon arrival as first-timers, parking was well organized and free. The zoo is not huge, but there is a decent amount of walking, so if one goes, be sure to wear comfy shoes. Water misters were set up throughout the park to help cool off on hot days. It’s recommended to start at the top of the zoo or top of the hill and work your way down. There were plenty of interesting animals to see from all continents except Antarctica, such as flamingos, condors, bald eagles, penguins, giraffes, etc. Seasonal exhibits (butterfly and bird tents) require an additional fee. They have a touch tank featuring stingrays. My partner and I stopped by Savanna Cafe for lunch (no outside food allowed inside). The food varies from burgers, hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches, and chicken tenders to salads and ice cream. We decided on chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings, ice cream, and water. It was decent, served its purpose, but was pricey. This is a must-take fun for any age classic New Jersey day trip, which we can recommend.

Had a fantastic time at the turtle back zoo!!! i went with my brother. we hadn’t been since we were little children and it was so much fun to rediscover the zoo as adults. i recommend getting there early, parking was free and we drove right in. no lines! which was fantastic. they had lots of different areas to see and it was a great time overall. a lovely day activity for any animal lovers.

You cannot beat the price per person on a weekend to enter this Very nice zoo! Stop by if you love animals and take a look at all the beautiful wildlife that lives here !! The zoo is very clean and the staff is so helpful and kind , consistently walking around the property to make sure the animals are good and the customers have any questions or concerns there is always a staff member near by , you can also pet and feed the cownose stingrays which is very cool! I highly recommend stopping in to this amazing zoo!

Great zoo! Parked in their garage for free. The animals were beautiful, and the design of the facility and habitats is very impressive. Very kid and stroller friendly. The staff we came upon throughout the park were very nice and friendly. The kids burned some energy at the cool prehistoric playground. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Had a wonderful time! Just don't go during afternoon in the summer. Most animals would be taking a nap or hiding in the shade to cope with the afternoon heat. Make sure you have water with you, you also need to cope with the walking and afternoon heat. A lot of folks brought outside food and snacks, which I thought was a great idea as there's not many options. Not as many exhibits or diversity as Bronx zoo but still very lovely, less crowded and charming. My favorite was the Giraffe and red panda exhibit. You can also feel the giraffe and the birds for couple extra bucks, if you choose to.

I made my second trip back to Turtle Back Zoo recently after quite a long break, and it was a mix of nostalgia and new discoveries. The layout has expanded, and there’s definitely more to see but also more walking! Each themed area feels like its own little world, which makes the journey between them fun, even if your feet start to protest by the end. I remembered the peacocks roaming freely last time, so it was a bit surprising not to see them this time around. Still, the variety of animals is impressive from big cats to reptiles. Depending on the weather, a lot of them were lounging in the shade, which made spotting them a bit tricky. One of the highlights was feeding the giraffes such a cool, up close moment that made the visit feel extra special. There are also plenty of spots to grab snacks, rest, and take photos, which came in handy since I was snapping way more pictures this time. Whether you're going with family, friends, or just looking for a peaceful day outdoors, Turtle Back Zoo offers a great mix of education, entertainment, and nature. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely worth the visit especially if you haven’t been in a while.

I have the luxury of homeschooling my daughter and so we invested in the yearly membership for the zoo so we can come every single week. We love the train, feeding the stingrays and watching keepers doing animal feedings. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. They genuinely seem excited talking about what they do and it feels great knowing the people taking care of the animals love what they do. The new vet building is totally amazing if you’re able to catch it while they are caring for animals. We were able to watch check ups being performed on baby emus, it was so cool!

We rode our bikes around the Estate and every bit of it was absolutely beautiful. Incredibly peaceful and very well kept. It is a great place to ride bikes or go for a nice walk. The only thing that I wish it had was more information about the history of the Duke Family and the buildings on the property.

Quick summary: Beautiful place. Especially the Orchid Greenhouse. Very nature conservation centric. Staff were great throughout. The Do and don'ts: Make parking reservations during peak season(as required by website). Be prepared to walk and absolutely wear comfortable shoes. Dress accordingly to your comfort needs and anticipate weather conditions. Cafe was nice. Selections were basically coffee, hot chocolate, pizza, soup, chips, yogurt, water, cake, very light pickings but decent. Very clean. I would give 5 stars easily if not for one issue: needs more restrooms (which were clean by the way). When you walk this much in the cold you may need to "go" more often than usual and if you're really needing to use one urgently they can be a task to get to. Would be nice if it were possible to have a sink at the few outhouses that were available. Overall an enjoyable adventure! ❤️

Such a beautiful orchid greenhouse! It’s amazing to see so many varieties of orchids along with other tropical plants. We spotted banana, pineapple, and plenty of papaya trees. The place is perfect for long walks or bike rides with kids. Fall here is especially stunning, with countless spots that make perfect backdrops for family portraits. I would highly recommend visiting!

I taught a geographic information systems workshop here for three days, and the staff and scientists and educators are incredibly visionary and wonderful. This facility is living up to its commitment to sustainability and reusability. There are so many diverse wonderful plants and trees. The biking the hiking it’s all completely wonderful. My favorite is the meditation garden and the Sycamore walk and the statues and Stone walls in the hay barn.

This is a wonderful place to take a stroll or ride a bike. According to the map we were given there are 18 miles of trails! The paved path we walked was well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. Unfortunately the visitor Center and Cafe were closed for a private event when we visited but we will return to check them out.

I visited this park about 8 years ago. I was impressed then, and I'm even more impressed now. An excellent variety of rides spread throughout the park can keep families and thrill seekers equally entertained. Food quality here seems to be a bit better than other Six Flags parks I've visited. The landscaping and green space are very well done throughout the park, and actually improved since 8 years ago. It's simply beautiful to look at in most places. Families will really appreciate some of the "quiet spaces" to sit in the shade while others are on nearby rides. The left side of the park around El Toro looks like it's getting ready to go through some redevelopment, so I'm very excited to see what Six Flags does after seeing the improvements everywhere else in the park. The employees who work here are also the best you'll find in any Six Flags park. The only thing I don't understand is, why is there such a huge difference in the quality of the experience you get between here and Six Flags New England?

We went on halloween, they had the fright fest.. It was fun, the place is clean, organized and has alot of services and amenities.. We faced an issue with our tickets and passes, but the guest services employees were so welcoming, helpful and nice about it and helped us in no time. Thanks to their help we got to enjoy our day there. It was for sure worth the trip.

It was incredibly great! I had the opportunity to visit both acquatic and roller coaster parks and I loved it. The water park has a bunch of attractions for all the kids and adults. There is also a large pool with waves. There is lockers for all your personal belongings. Now the roller coaster park was amazing. I went with a few friends +25 yo. And we had a great time. Every roller coaster ride was extremely enjoyable and scary. There is also a few restaurants. I will suggest to go on weekday because is a very crowded place. And the parking is 35$ general , 50$ preferential.

Well this was our first time here, as annual members for 6 years we’ve always talked about coming here and since it was the Halloween event what better time, BIG MISTAKE! Every other park is inclusive, you have tickets for Halloween you get the haunted houses, mazes, etc. Not here! $35 a piece, $90 for fast pass and if you don’t get there fast pass you’re screwed! As someone with family memberships for Six Flags, Hershey Park, Legoland and CedarFair, we regularly travel to all the parks from Florida to Massachusetts to Ohio and I’ve never been to a park that allowed that many people in, it was packed! I mean, beyond packed! Everything had a long line, we made it through 2 mazes and gave up when the fast pass lines were as long as the GA lines for the Halloween attractions😢 It was stressful, that many people and large groups pushing through you and kids, and then they’re just stopping in the walkways while groups of teenagers congregated everywhere without supervision and on top of that I’m walking with my kids smelling weed burning everywhere. Get it together Six Flags, I grew up near Wild world, that became Adventure World before finally Six Flags, we stopped going there years ago because of the fights and violence from groups of teenagers and young adults, now they’re closing it for good 😢😢😭 This place has the same vibes! I do want to come back maybe when it’s not so busy, rides looked awesome and almost all of them were operating, not sure I even saw any rides out of commission which is good coming from Six flagsFlags America where you’re lucky if 50% were operating that day and the shops and decorations were dilapidated and look like they survived a tornado, but unfortunately with that many people, every ride had a 60-180min wait, even the stores had long lines to even get in and don’t even try to get food, those lines were ridiculous, at least there was an occasional opening at the drink stands where the lines were maybe a few minutes, I actually felt like a 🤡 waiting to get my cups scanned when people were just walking up from the side filling up their cups😡 employee couldn’t do anything, I don’t think she could even see them😡 by 830 the coke was out of syrup and there was no ice, I told the lady working but she didn’t understand what I was telling her, she just smiled and shook her head to and down. Thankfully they were fully staffed though, most parks can’t get enough employees to work which ends up with closed attractions and concessions. Kudos for that! As for Halloween, get there early and get out when the sun goes down, we gave up at 9pm, after finally picking up a bags from the stroller rentals and getting out of the park it was 10pm and the lines to get in the park were absolutely ridiculous and long, I don’t know what those people are expecting at that time, by the time they get through security and front gate they’re going to be in for a world of hurt when they actually see the lines inside😱

​We recently visited the safari with our grandkids and had a fantastic time. We especially enjoyed riding on the old army trucks, which took us right through the different animal exhibits. The ride was not only entertaining for the kids but also very informative for all of us. Considering how much fun we had, it was a very reasonably priced outing for the whole family. It was such a great experience that we're already planning to go back again next year.

This was my second time visiting Six Flags Great Adventure, and it was just as exciting as the first. On my July 2025 trip, I enjoyed Flash Vertical Velocity (a recent addition and an amazing ride), Batman, Nitro, Roaring Rapids, Jersey Devil, Skull Mountain, Buccaneer, The Joker 4D, and Houdini’s Great Escape. On my first visit in March 2024, I experienced Sky Screamer, The Joker, Harley Quinn Choo Choo Train, Nitro, Jersey Devil, Superman Ultimate Flight, El Toro, Medusa, Kingda Ka (once the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster), Batman – The Ride, The Dark Knight Coaster, and even played some fun basketball. I was sad to see that Kingda Ka is no longer there, but I am excited to see what new ride will replace it. The park is full of energy, and having a season pass makes visiting very convenient. I would definitely come back again!

Princeton's undergraduate curriculum is based on a liberal arts foundation, requiring students to take courses in a variety of disciplines. As stated on their respective website: 4 years of English 4 years of Mathematics 4 years of one foreign language 2 Years of Laboratory science 2 Years of History Princeton also offers a variety of financial aid programs to help students make college affordable. Not only that, but undergraduates also have the opportunity to conduct independent research, often under the mentorship of Princeton's world-renowned faculty. All in all, Princeton University is a world-class institution that offers students the opportunity to receive a rigorous education and learn from some of the best minds in the world. It is a community where students can grow and thrive, and make lifelong friends from all over the world in an environment where young minds are constantly being challenged and older minds are seeking to serve and teach their years' worth of knowledge. If you are a high school student who is interested in attending Princeton, you should start planning early. Princeton has a very competitive admissions process, and it is important to have strong grades, and extracurricular activities in progress while you still have time. In addition to that, I definitely recommend visiting the campus and talking to current students to learn more about the university, student life, and its unique culture it portrays.

Really beautiful campus. I stopped by here and don't regret anything. I loved walking around and seeing all the different buildings and dorms. It was actually gorgeous. There is a gift shop as well. I recommend !

Gorgeous campus for a peaceful stroll. A few gentle hills and plenty of beauty all around. If you are visiting and want to explore, you cannot go wrong with an aimless meander. Many excellent food and shopping choices in town. Definitely one of the most beautiful American college campuses.

It's beautiful!! It's amazing to walk around the campus. It has a very Hogwarts magical vibe. The buildings, the built and everything about this place has a history (the good and the bad). It almost feels like having a connection with that history while you walk through this place.

This is a very old school with charm and beautiful architecture. I just walked through the campus, but it was quite lovely. I cannot attest to the education, but from what the school has posted everywhere, it seemed like a very “where are your papers?” university, which is quite something. I will not doc any stars because of it, but I was not allowed in the university chapel because of it (only students, faculty, or staff allowed)- I know it’s a private school, but I thought these places were supposed to be open to all, like their predecessors in England like Cambridge or Oxford.

Such a beautiful campus. This is a campus that one would love to study, not only for its academic reasons but just being in the atmosphere surrounding the campus. Great old buildings and greenery.

A wonderful walk through some beautiful sculpture! This place was amazing and would be perfect for a date day. I was surprised how much there was to explore. I didn’t get a chance to see it all so I can’t wait to come back and explore some more.

Wow! This place was amazing. It really does encourage you to just wander and check out all the art. It’s also a garden so there are lots of pretty landscaping.

Both visually arresting and emotionally resonant, his work speaks with honesty and urgency. Through his art exhibition in the East Gallery, he addresses the complexities of the political landscape with grace, courage, and profound humanity. This experience served as a poignant reminder that, at our core, “we are all human” worthy of dignity, compassion, and respect. Art like this transcends borders, challenges division, and invites us to see one another more clearly. My deepest gratitude to Grounds For Sculpture for making this impactful event possible. And to the artist, thank you for sharing your vision, and your truth. Your work speaks volumes, and it truly matters.

The grounds were well maintained,access to digital map, hundreds of works of art along the 42 acres. Several eateries and restrooms on site. Timed entry so advisable to purchase tickets online and in advance.

Visiting Grounds For Sculpture with my family was an incredible and inspiring experience. Naively, I thought two hours would be enough—but even a quick round took us about 3.5 hours, and I could have easily spent the whole day. The grounds are huge, filled with sculptures that are funny, modern, thought-provoking, and stunning. Tip: come right at the opening to avoid the crowds. Bring water, a snack, and comfortable shoes, then give yourself permission to wander and soak it all in. There are also cozy cafés tucked into the grounds. Absolutely amazing, one of the best sculpture garden and a must-see.

We had our wedding ceremony at Grounds For Sculpture, and it was absolutely wonderful! Even though it rained, the team made sure everything still went perfectly. The setting was stunning, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us and all our guests. They made sure we felt supported and calm through it all, and the day turned out beautifully. We couldn’t have asked for a more magical experience — thank you for helping make our wedding day so special!

Me and my fiancé did the 6mile self guided kayak trip, Quaker Bridge to Barstow Village and had a blast! No rapids or anything like that, calm pace, but definitely a few obstacles which made it even more fun and challenging! Mile markers all along the river help you keep track of where you are! We did Bring-Your-Own kayaks for a discounted price and was WELL WORTH IT!! From booking, to our driver on the way in, to the driver that picked us up at the end - all great people, very knowledgeable, and made for a smooth July 4th activity!! The beautify of seeing this rarely seen side of the Pine Barrens was amazing, plus all the turtles!!!

Drivers and employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. Check in was easy and they have you text their number so you can check in at a certain point but also if you’re lost, you can reach out. Went on Sunday around midday and the water was calm and not crowded. Bring cash for tips!!

We did the 4hr Batso river kayak and it was so awesome! The staff here are really awesome and the whole experience is incredibly easy letting you enjoy your kayak trip. The shuttle ride is also beautiful and they even share history about the area. Highly recommend! Everyone on our shuttle were coming back for a return trip.

I’ve never seen a more organized operation than Pinelands Adventures. The lets you know where you’re going and how long it will take you to get there. They gather the group and brief you with a map. They give you a little map with mile markers so you know where you are when you’re out there. They give you a cell number to text so they can be ready when you get to the end. The driver knows the area and will give you tips and information if you sit up front. These people go above and beyond to make your adventure a fun one!

This weekend was my third time paddling with Pineland Adventures, and this was the best time yet. We did the overnight kayak trip, and everyone there was so great and knowledgeable. The water was pretty rough with a lot of rainfall, and they were so responsive when we needed help on the river. I can't wait to return again this season for more fun!

Just went kayaking through Pinelands Adventures for the 3rd time. It is always a great experience. Love the price, love the shuttle service, love the different trails you can take, and love that there are multiple places to stop to take a break and have lunch. I can’t wait to go back again.

My friends and I did the Batsto River trip from Quaker Bridge to Batsto Lake. It took us about 4 hours. We didn’t stop too much. Scenery was beautiful. The river was so peaceful. A little “jungly” at some spots but I thought that made it fun. And the staff were just amazing and informative of, not only the kayaking trip itself, but also the surrounding State Forest and local history. Very lovely experience.
